is this real??? : y. seoyeon
synopsis: you're one of the last members to go live on cosmo's new livestreaming features. but your first live goes in a bit of an... interesting direction.
# : pairing ! yoon seoyeon x s25!reader
# : tags ! fem!reader, fluff, crack, established relationship, animal crossing mention, alternative title: the s in s1 stands for sapphic, cosmo is basically weverse but for modhaus artists, reader is a gamer nerd it's for the plot sorry, fromm messaging service mention, user at the end is made up
# : wordcount ! 1.3k
# : warnings ! none

if someone asked you how your first cosmo live went from supposedly peaceful, wholesome, and lowkey, to having you and seoyeon trend on twitter for all sorts of reasons, you'd say this: it's all her fault.
see, the livestream was supposed to be chill. it was supposed to be a fun live where you could talk to wavs and show off your animal crossing island. well, that did happen for the most part... until your girlfriend barged into your room and shoved an ice cream bar in your mouth.
not that it was a bad thing—it tasted good! choco fudge crunch bars are your favorite. it's just that—well—you took a bite from the side of the bar instead of the top, like you always do. and you're a tad bit afraid that this will be your reputation: the tripleS member who eats ice cream bars from the side.
unfortunately, that's only one of many things that transpired during your livestream.
"hi guys!" you wave to your phone camera, though a bit embarrassed at how you're kind of just waving to yourself with the chat overlay scrolling at a rapid pace. "you've been waiting for my live for a while, right?"
ynln25: YESSSSS hausmat: YN IS LIVE idkbruh: what are u doing today??
you laugh at the comments, a grin overtaking your features as you pull out the star of today's show: your oled model switch.
"i spent a lot of time thinking about what to do for the first live, since i wanted it to be special," you present the console to the camera, "and i know the hype isn't as strong as the first few years, but i've been working on my animal crossing island and i wanted to show you guys," you finish, your grin widening by the second.
fans already know how much of a nerd you are, considering half of your fromm chats are about games you're playing, so the livestream's concept isn't a surprise to most.
hamhaminator: OMG animal crossing 77z: pls let us join ur island lynnnnnshark: youre so pretty omg
"let you join my island? wait, that sounds so fun, let's do that next time. you guys have to pay to get in though, one nook miles ticket," you joke, finally picking up the console to move your character to the first place you want to show: a city street with an section for trading, with vending machines and building decorations. the whole area is fully customized, paths and patterns utilized to create a stunning city visual.
ynln25: YOUR ISLAND IS SO COOL likehayeon: 1 nmt entry is crazy mnbmicrm: /\ /\
the tour continues, and you make it about halfway through the areas you want to show on camera before your door bursts open and makes you jump. in comes yoon seoyeon, your very beautiful and amazing and gremlin of a girlfriend.
before you can say anything, as in, your mouth opens but nothing comes out, an ice cream bar is shoved into your face, and you instinctively take a bite... from the side. the side of the bar, not the top.
well, shit! there goes your (not so) perfect reputation. everyone's gonna think you're a weirdo, now!
risingsoty: where did seoyeon come from im crying gndisbetter: JUMPSCARE??? girlscapitalismno1fan: are we not gonna talk about where y/n bit it???? who eats ice cream like that??? 😭
"your favorite," seoyeon says, a smug smile curling on her lips. she's holding an ice cream bar of her own, a crispy crunch ice bar which has left some crumbs around her mouth. you quickly grab a tissue from your desk and reach up to clean the mess upon noticing it. seoyeon hums, handing you the ice cream that you bit before sitting down on a chair next to you.
you go back to the livestream, not realizing how the chat went absolutely crazy at what just happened in the span of two minutes.
the next few seconds are spent in silence, just the two of you eating your ice cream in peace, until seoyeon leans over and giggles before reading a comment. "'seoyeon making a special delivery for her girlfriend' yeah. i stopped by gs25 on the way home from the company and felt like treating her."
you almost choke mid-swallow of the chunk you just bit off. "how— how nice of you! um, anyways..."
trying to change the topic before it gets too out of hand, you hold your ice cream bar between your teeth and pick your switch up from the desk, redirecting your character to the area that you were headed to before being abruptly interrupted. seoyeon finishes her ice cream in the blink of an eye and leans her head on your shoulder, elbows touching.
"we should do an animal crossing live with chaeyeon and hyerin," she comments, earning a hum from you.
"i don't know, 'yeonie. we'll have to see if you behave," you take the bar back into your hand and answer promptly, a teasing tone tucked into the latter end of your sentence.
fireyoo: behave??? what jestjj: yo zxcvbnm: YESSS pls do another acnh live
the blonde reacts strongly to your answer, briefly whining and pouting before turning to the camera. "guys, y/nnie won't let me on her island anymore."
"because all you do is chase me around with your net to hit me," you grumble, "don't listen to her, wavs, you can't just believe every girl with a pretty face. she's an evil hamham."
seoyeon rolls her eyes and playfully bites your shoulder, causing you to dramatically flinch and cry in agony.
"see!" you complain to the camera, "this is how she treats me. a cruel, cruel woman."
"that's what you get," and she sticks her tongue out at you, then snatching the bar out of your hand, "i'm holding your ice cream hostage until you apologize."
widening your eyes, you try to grab for it, but she holds it up high. see, you could reach for it; it's not like you're that short. but it'd be pretty boring if you just snatched it out of her hand, and so you decide to put on a show.
"baby..." you tug on her hoodie, which is really your hoodie but she's made it a permanent addition to her wardrobe, "baby, i'm sorry... please... my ice cream..."
the chat explodes. like, really explodes. it's going so fast that you can't see a single message. and that makes you realize that you just did all of that on a livestream.
useridkicbanym: ijbol u guys arent real holy yuri shionnieee: 🤨🏳🌈?? cocomelona: BABY?????????? kwakkwak: wait i just realized i think seoyeon is wearing yns hoodie?!?!? rthtuh: HARD LAUNCH HARD LAUNCH
you frantically look to your side, where seoyeon is blinking at unnatural speeds, face flaming in the shade of strawberries. and this situation could've been saved if you both played on with it, but you're both sitting there like flustered idiots at the moment. she wordlessly hands you your ice cream bar, and you quietly thank her.
not even a minute later, someone's knocking furiously at your bedroom door. and not even a second later, seoyeon's phone starts blowing up. you shoot up from your seat and sloppily reach for your phone, ending the livestream before sitting back down and turning to your girlfriend with widened eyes.
"we're cooked."
the blonde can only shake her head and bury her face into your shoulder.
about fifteen more knocks sound at the door. you groan.
incoming call from manager-nim... answer?
the once-sleeping girl nestled within your embrace whines at the noise waking the two of you up so early in the morning. you fumble around for your phone, reluctantly answering it on speaker. an eerily calm voice crackles out from your speakers.
"you and seoyeon. to the office. in one hour."
if you and seoyeon weren't awake before, you're definitely awake now. seoyeon groans loudly into your pajama shirt. you sigh and press a kiss to the top of her head. "whatever happens, let's get ice cream after."
she perks up at that. "it's your treat, 'kay?"

a/n: GIRL THIS ISNT THE DANI FIC BUT I JUST HAD TO GET THIS ONE OUT IM SORRY

— COOKING MAMA!
triples girls (yooyeon, seoyeon, mayu, xinyu, & nakyoung) x gn!reader
summary: how it would be cooking with the triples girls
warnings/tags: established relationship, fluff, idk what to tag this tbh
this is so random but i had the thought and needed to do something with it

Kim Yooyeon (김유연) -
— do not try cooking with her it will end in a disaster so serious fr
— a little surprising given she's the oldest with essentially no cooking knowledge, you will end up having to do most of the cooking
— she will try, but she will likely fail, but she tries to act as if she did it the right way while you weren't looking, only for you to ask and she just kinda freezes before admitting that she obviously did it wrong
— stick to cup of noodles, it's easiest for her
Yoon Seoyeon (윤서연) -
— she's surprisingly a better cook than you would've expected, so you two are pretty equal in terms of cooking knowledge
— she can cook the basics and most things as long as there's instructions and a recipe for her, and it might not come out looking the same, the taste is great
— that being said, she would much rather just order food than taking the time cooking it, understandable
— however, for certain holidays or events of some kind she would do her best to make something more difficult or that isn't often made, somehow succeeding
Koma Mayu (駒まゆ) -
— she will lowkey eat the food as you're cooking fr she just can't resist when it looks so good!
— she could probably make rice if she tried and that's about it, excluding ramen but yeah that's about it
— she would totally love cooking with you even if she isn't doing much, just spending time together alone is enough for her, but she also gets good food in the end? sign her up!
— she might not be able to cook or help much but she is great at talking endlessly while you cook so you're never bored at least when cooking
Zhou Xinyu (周新宇) -
— she does not cook, do not have her cook, don't even ask for help, some sort of chaos will happen
— you could literally be cooking the most extravagant meal and she'd be of no help whatsoever, just leaning against the counter looking pretty while you do all the work, even if she tries to help, you deny and so she just sits there
— she is your certified taste tester though, so whenever you're around halfway or nearly done you ask for her to taste and she'll tell you how it tastes and if it needs more of anything
— she doesn't even try cooking for your birthday she just orders catering and pretends like she made it for you (you know she didn't)
Kim Nakyoung (김낙영) -
— girl would rather eat cup of noodles and convenience store foods instead of cooking like fr
— you'll have to be the one cooking 24/7 im sorry, she'll try to help sometimes but most of the time she's just sitting on the counter watching you cook
— but, she would definitely try cooking something on your birthday, waking up before you to cook something and it might end in a fire but at least she tried!
— it's not often that you cook but whenever you do she's always standing there behind you asking if she can do anything to help and when you keep saying no she still doesn't leave your side, watching everything you do

Our Story, Like a Romance Novel [Chapter 1: Before the Rise]
Chapter 0, Chapter 2
Tags: fluff, coming-of-age, friendship
Word count: 6.5k
a/n: hellooooo!! I'm still working on my more "mature" one-shot fics, so just bear with me, if that's what you're waiting for. but, if you are interested, here's the next chapter to my current series.

It was the summer of 2023 when he first entered the so-called big leagues of Seoul State University. Perhaps it was the best time for a lot of young folks to express their freedom and discover their identities during this point in their lives, if they weren’t being nagged by their parents back in high school. However, for some youngsters who aren’t as lucky and fortunate with their privilege, working part-time has been the usual case in his life since high school, but juggling it with important college matters has proven to be quite the challenge for them. For some, they can only work one shift a day or night per week.
For one particular sophomore, however, he found himself in an unforgettable position. When everything felt more overwhelming for him during the first year of his college life, he caught the attention and earned the eventual trust of an upperclassman…
“Join our club, Junghoon-ssi,” Park Sohyun holds him on his shoulder with this plea.
“But I’m planning to join an organization,” he informs her. “It’s in line with my major.”

“Then you can still join that organization,” she notes. “This club of ours, it’s not really an academic one nor is it recognized by the university. But get this—you’ll get paid.” Such a phrase gets him. “Think of it as an internship—or an extracurricular. It’s not a big deal.”
Like Daewon, Geum Junghoon was not the same confident, talented, and successful chef that he ended up becoming nor did he have the model-like physique that some folks are looking up to imitate and achieve in their lifetime. Like a lotta people in their late teens to early twenties, he too had to go to college while also getting a taste of the real world outside of those hours.
“I appreciate the offer, but it’s fine, sunbae,” he asserts his choice. “I already have a few shifts on my plate too… And well, if things do get more difficult, I can just file a leave of absence for the semester so I can focus on working more.”
Yet such a sincere and considerate senior of his wanted to lessen some of his burdens.
“No, don’t…” Sohyun insists. “I know you’ve been having a harder time, juggling your part-time jobs and classes. I’ll just say it to you now. Quit those jobs while you’re at it. When you’re in our club, you won’t need to keep working more just to earn a lot less.”
His mouth almost opens, but he doesn’t know what else to say. “Who told you..?”
“Myungsoo-ssi. Kotone-ssi. Your close friends,” she mutters names dearest to him. “They’re worried about you, too. And I wish I can do something about it, too.”
“You asked my friends?” he’s confunded. “Wouldn’t that be a power trip on your part?”
“Not if I’m just genuinely concerned,” she sighs. “They told me you weren’t in the best state to study and work at the same time. But I’m serious… We’re not gonna give you a hard time or anything. In fact, I think it’ll be more productive than most of your shifts. Take it from someone who’s also been in your shoes…”
The offer has been made. And realizing his personal situation, it sounds more tempting. The fact that Sohyun used to live a similar lifestyle makes him resonate with her more. “I’ll have to think about it.” He doesn’t want to let such a chance slip. “If that’s okay.”
“Of course!” she reassures him. “Take your time, Junghoon-ssi… The offer stands.”
He never expected to have gotten such an offer from his sunbae. At times, he would think that he was lucky that he was paired up with Sohyun during their first project. Maybe if it was someone else, he would’ve still kept on giving himself a harder time.
= = =
“Welcome to the Club, Junghoon-ssi. Make yourself at home, okay?”
He chose not to join another organization.
Geum Junghoon was brought into the campus meeting room of the Mad Money Club for the first time. His senior by almost two years—Park Sohyun—asked him if he could join them in a way that she first described as a “more productive part-time side gig.” Due to personal reasons, the young man accepted her invitation a couple of days after hearing her compelling offer at the cafe.
The room looked cozier than any classroom he has gone to in his almost one year as a student. Maybe it’s the decorations and furniture. It felt like he was home, at least like his boarding house. It felt weird but also welcoming as he saw new and familiar faces, whose heads now turn to him with various glances. Most are positive, to say the least.
“Ne. Kamsahamnida, Sohyun-sunbaenim,” he bows to her with gratitude.
“Please drop the honorifics,” she snickers at his gesture. “Just call me Sohyun-ssi.”
He hesitates to even mouth those words. “I can’t, sunbaenim. That just feels…”
She chuckles. “Alright, alright. Will noona be more comfortable for you then?”
“Ne!” he exclaims. “That sounds better… Kamsahamnida, Sohyun-noona.”
“I know that we have rules, but don’t be too uncomfortable around us, arachi?”
“And we still have three other members,” another student adds. Junghoon immediately recognizes her as his upperclassman Seo Dahyun. “But don’t be nervous around them.”
“Babe, you think recruiting another one this year is a good idea?” a worried voice asks. She’s a tall woman who’s laid back on the couch. Sohyun walks to her and joins her seat.
“Come on, now, Xinyu-ah,” she fixes her scruffy hair. “Just trust me on this one, okay? Junghoon’s only a part-timer. Think of him like our scout or assistant. And besides, I really wanna help him out and he’s been such a great help to me in ways I don’t even know how I can repay him… Isn’t that why we founded our club in the first place?”
“Not to meddle with you lovebirds, but Sohyun-unnie has a point…” Dahyun adds in her insight to the matter with a hopeful tone. “I still remember joining this club because you girls helped me out when I got here in Seoul. And look where I am now!”

Holding each other in an embrace, Xinyu knows and feels she can trust Sohyun dearly… From a distance, Junghoon is relieved that another member of the club accepted him. At least, she voiced her trust in her girlfriend. That was enough for Junghoon to feel a little less like some outcast, unlike most of his classes and group projects where folks would just come and go after a limited span of interactions about academics and interests.
“Well…” Xinyu looks at Sohyun. “You and Dahyun are right about our oath... I trust you, Sohyun-ah.”
“Thank you, babe,” Sohyun kisses her girlfriend’s cheek. “I mean, I also trust you accepting Yubin-ssi. Let’s call it even.”
“Fair enough,” Xinyu giggles.
“Yah, Sohyun-unnie!” Yubin herself whines to her sunbaes, already defensive in her tone. “What did I do? I already told you gals before, I haven’t been spending our money on anything stupid! That's why I wanted to join this club so badly.”
Sohyun, Xinyu, and Dahyun can’t help but laugh at her reaction. “I was kidding, Yubin-ah…” Sohyun calms her down. “You’re just as welcome here as everyone!”
The couple chuckle before their lips lovingly touch each other with no sign of worries. Junghoon looks at them in contemplation, touched by this new sight of love and comfort.
Dahyun shakes her head with a smile. “Aigoo… Get a room, you two.”
“But we are in a room,” Xinyu casually retorts, continuing her embrace with Sohyun.
Dahyun swallows a humph at the remark. “You get what I mean, unnie!”
“Okay, okay…” Xinyu stands up with Sohyun. “We’ll be heading outside for a bit, if that makes y’all singles any less uncomfortable.”
“That’s so uncalled for, unnie…” Yubin places a palm on her chest in disbelief.
“I’m joking!” Xinyu chuckles alongside Sohyun, as they tidy themselves up. “But we are gonna be heading out. For real this time... See you later, girls!”
“And Junghoon-ah!” Sohyun adds on their way out, waving at her hoobae.
The lovers bid their fellow members goodbye, leaving the three members in the room. Thankfully, there’s no awkwardness felt between them due to their comical interaction, though Junghoon still feels a “bit formal” and anxious when his eyes meet Dahyun’s, as much as he is curious about her based on what he has heard from the talk minutes ago.
“If I may ask, Dahyun-sunbaenim… You’re not from around here?”
“Nah, my hometown’s in Busan, Junghoon-ssi. How about you?” she asks back.
“I was born in Gyeonggi-do… At least that’s where my dad was.”
“And your eomoni?”
He stops for a second, recalling an integral moment from his past. “She was from Daegu, but I haven't gone there in a long time.”
“That’s nice to know! Some of my friends are from there.”
“Oh!” Yubin joins their conversation with excitement, with her eyes now lighting up with curiosity about him. “Your dad’s from Gyeonggi-do, too, sunbae? We live there, too!”
“That’s nice to know, Yubin-ssi. It’s kind of interesting that we all have some hometowns in common. At least, for a while.”
“It really is! Hope we get along, Geum Junghoon-sunbaenim.”
“I hope so too, Yubin-ssi,” Junghoon bows. “It’s nice meeting you everyone.”
= = =
In the following couple of weeks. Junghoon and his close friends outside the club were sitting in campus gardens, as they would usually hang out during breaks or this time, after classes. Kim Myungsoo and Lee Yeonghwan are juniors. Lim Honggi, fellow sophomore. Another sophomore, Kamimoto Kotone, is the only woman in their group—but she and Junghoon go all the way back since high school. They were his friends and brother-like figures since freshman year.
While Junghoon is no stranger to being quiet, they witness their youngest friend scratching his hair—not even the gust of wind can suppress the questions swirling within his confused mind. Myungsoo taps on Junghoon’s shoulder, stopping his hand from scratching his scalp.
“Dude, that’s like the loudest you’ve ever been today,” Yeonghwan shares his concern. “You got dandruff on your hair or something?”
“Yeah… Are you okay, man? What’s on your mind?” Myungsoo reciprocates his worry.
“Umm, well…” Junghoon hesitates for a second. “If you don’t mind me asking, hyung… What exactly does the Mad Money Club do? I know you’ve known some of the members since last year, so…”
“Sohyun didn’t tell you?” Myungsoo wonders. “None of the members briefed you? Wow. I wonder what she said that made you agree to come working for her club, man... Those women are a mystery to us!”
“I just got into them two weeks ago, so I’m just getting used to the club.”
“I’m afraid I don’t know much about those rich kids, Junghoon... I do know some things about the founders, but they’re mostly just rumors or basic stuff you and everyone else on campus might already be familiar with.”
“But didn’t we already warn you not to join any sketchy organizations?” Yeonghwan raises an eyebrow.
Junghoon shakes his head. “It’s not sketchy, Yeonghwan-ah. They’re surprisingly nice when I entered their club.”
“Are you sure they're not a cult or some kind of laundering scheme?” Kotone joins in.
Junghoon turns to her in confusion. “Where did you hear those rumors?”
“I mean, these two aren’t entirely wrong,” Myungsoo plays devil’s advocate due to their concern for him. “There’s an actual rumor about them praying to statues while holding Korean bills, but just based on your experience with them, are they that strange?”
“Nah, they’re not that weird…” he chuckles. “That was just a goof that they made for a project in Xinyu-sunbae’s economics class. Was it something about the historical and sociocultural critique of Western capitalism? Something like that? But, I got to know them for a bit, so…”
Junghoon started to share what he exactly does with the Mad Money Club in those past few weeks.
For a start, I would sometimes tutor some of the members. At first, I thought it was just it. I would become a private campus tutor. But, I wasn’t complaining about it. It was productive and my work was paying off, and getting paid.
“So that’s basically what the Diamond-Water Paradox is,” I tell Yubin. “Even if water is more essential to us as humans, it’s still interesting to realize the fact that the market’s value of diamonds is always more expensive. And so, you can solve it by using this formula. The change in total utility divided…”
If that wasn’t enough, I help them with mapmaking and illustrations. Considering they have tablets or pens and papers… It wasn’t too hard for me to help them out whenever they needed a hand for an assignment or project.
“Oh…” Yubin rejoices at her realization. “I understand it a little better now. Thanks for the assist, sunbae!”

Most of the time, it’s Yubin who I've been helping since she’s the youngest. “You’re welcome, Yubin-ssi.”
Gong Yubin is a freshman, being the youngest recruit in the club this semester, but she easily got along with the older members. Even with me. Apparently, she has been friends with a few of her seniors here (my juniors) since they were in high school, so that must have been a little bit easier for her to adjust into living in college. She may be a little bit frisky and playful most of the time, but she’s a resourceful student and is kind to everyone whenever she gets serious. Even if she gets teased about being a babo because she failed some of her earlier quizzes, she’s quite the quick learner, too, and her passing her exams compensates for that.
But there was more than tutoring for me by the second week, even though that was one of the first things Sohyun-noona expected me to do as their assistant. In the weeks that followed since I first joined Mad Money Club, I became involved in some of these girls’ extracurricular clubs and organizations. One can say that I was being outsourced.
“Alright! You’re doing a good job, Junghoon-ssi,” Dahyun cheers me on from the table.
“It’s nothing, sunbae. As long as I’m able to do something to help you all out, I’m glad.”

“Don’t hesitate to ask us for help, too, okay? As your sunbae, we know a lot of things and we can do a lot of stuff, too.” She raises her clenched fists while pouting with a momentary fierce gaze.
Seo Dahyun-sunbae is a junior from Behavioral Science, but interestingly enough, one of her main hobbies are going to the campus gym not just to work out on most evenings, but she also loves to spar in boxing and sometimes martial arts, which is cool. Though she doesn’t play in actual matches, she apparently packs a powerful punch, so I definitely don’t wanna get on her bad side.
She’s usually nice, on the bright side. Especially with an extremely angelic voice, she’s also a well-respected member of the Seoul State Singers since she joined last semester. In person, she can get along with everyone within the span of one or two conversations. At least that’s what happened to our first meeting. Because of her bubbly attitude, she usually approaches people first, but she never forgets to be respectful of them which makes me admire her.
Eventually, I met the two other members of the club, starting with their leader, who I thought was Sohyun, but happened to be someone else. She’s actually the same age as Dahyun-sunbaenim, despite all of them, save for Yubin, being in the same class year.

“It’s nice meeting you, Junghoon-ssi… Just treat this room as home when you’re here. You’ve already done a lot of help for the club and it’s only your first week,” she tells me.
“It’s my pleasure, Seoyeon-sunbaenim,” I bow to her during our first introduction.
“I know why Sohyun recruited you into the club and I welcome your reasoning behind it. But I hope you understand why we founded this group. It is more than just a gig.”
“I understand, sunbae. I choose to stay here for a while. For as long as you need my service, I will be here.” I bow to her again; not only is she older, she’s also another sunbae.
Yoon Seoyeon-sunbae was the first member I’ve met after classes and contrary to what I did believe, she’s actually the club’s main founder and leader. She applied and got into SSU through a special scholarship, which was impressive. I could’ve entered here the same way until I realized that I already qualified for passing the entrance exams. She’s a student of Media and Communication and just like Sohyun-noona, she was probably just as busy as her when I first met her, which is why she rarely shows up in the room when it’s my “shift” in the morning and early afternoon.
She and everyone else there might’ve been somewhat suspicious of me for being the only guy in the club, but I get why she herself has yet to earn my full trust. There’s a lot of pervs and douches lurking everywhere, even and especially on such a prestigious and privileged campus like this. I never plan to have relationships in college, anyways, but befriending them feels great. Besides, I won’t always hang out with them, unless they need my help for something. It feels much, much more different from high school.

“Nice to meet you, Junghoon-ssi,” another member shakes hands with me. “I don’t get why Sohyun-unnie is hiring an assistant here, but I hope that you joined us because you’re willing and not you know… The opposite,” she giggles.
“It’s umm… My pleasure meeting you, Nien-sunbaenim,” I feel hypnotized in her gaze.
Hsü Nien-tz'u is another junior from Marketing, but everyone simply calls her Nien. She was a Vietnam-born Taiwanese and she’s also a year younger than Sohyun-noona and the same age as Seoyeon, although they went to university in the same year. Last year, I think I’ve seen her before on campus a couple of times, but now that I’ve met her in person and know she’s a member of this club, she’s pretty funny when she jokes around and well, she’s pretty.
She has beautiful eyes, too. I don’t know what else to say about Nien yet, other than the fact that she just lights up the room with her stunning sense of humor, confidence, and lively charm whenever she’s there. It'd be nice to know her better, but that’s just wishful thinking, even if I get to see her in the room more often during lunch breaks and free times. And why am I calling her comfortably?
“Yah, Nien-ah!” Sohyun calls her out. What kind of question is that?”
“The one no one else dared to ask, unnie,” she snaps back. “What else?”
“You little–”
“It’s okay, noona,” I came to her defense, even though it seems like these girls have always bickered at each other like this before. “And Nien-ssi, Sohyun-noona didn’t pressure me. I just like to offer what I have to help with y’all, and I’d be more than happy to help.”
“Well, if any of the girls are giving you a hard time, don’t be afraid to ask ‘me’ for help, arachi? I can make it easier for you if you want.” She just winked at me. Seolma.
I was a bit taken aback by what she said, but I could not help but chuckle at her as my only reaction. I can’t tell if her statements are “genuine,” but at least Nien’s humorous gestures and words just somehow tickles the heck out of my funny bone or something.
“Omo, Nien-ah… I don’t believe this. Are you flirting with my hoobae?”
Nien raises her hands up. “I’m just saying! He may need some ‘assistance’ too, you know? He’s only human.”
“You’re not denying it, Nien-ah,” teases Dahyun.
There's a hint of taunting and enticement to Nien's mischievous smile. “I have no intention to. And he's my hoobae too, you know.”
“Whatever you say…” Sohyun scoffs, shaking her head. “Either way, he’s off-limits.”
“Am I though?”
My sudden bold response impressed the entire room with a wave of “oooooh” towards him. While it made Sohyun put her palm on her face while letting out a light laughter, it even took Nien aback for a second. But the fact that she smiled at me was one reaction I didn’t expect. I take her response as a sign of respect and friendliness for a person she's met. Oh, how clueless was I truly during those years.
“How about that,” she smirks. “You see, he can definitely answer for himself, unnie.”
“Woah, I did not expect that side of you, Junghoon-ah!” Sohyun turns her head to me.
“I’m just kidding, noona… Trying to lighten up the mood and all,” I explain. “But I don’t mind Nien-sunbae’s assistance, it might come in handy someday, you know?”
Park Sohyun-sunbae recruited me into the club in the first place. We were in the same student organization that I joined as a freshman, but she was also in a couple of my classes. She’s in a good number of organizations when she was still a freshman, but she stopped when she co-founded Mad Money with Seoyeon and Dahyun-sunbae.
We first worked on a paired assignment, which turned out well because she was approachable and took the initiative during our meetings. But after that, we kept staying as partners whenever she got busier on her organization projects and I chose to finish on our class assignments. She insisted that I stop including her names on the finished works.
Now, I can say that she’s a good friend of mine. She seems to treat me like that as well. I might even say she’s like an older sister to me, but maybe I’m just being sentimental, because I never had one. Point is, meeting her has made my college life more fun and refreshing.
Xinyu smiles at us. “Well, whatever happens to these two, I can still vouch for everyone. Junghoon has been nothing but helpful to the whole club, so far.”

Zhou Xinyu is another junior alongside Sohyun and Nien. She’s from Beijing, but she’s not an exchange student, as some students believe. Aside from dating Sohyun-noona since they were freshmen, I don’t know anything else about her to be honest. However, I did learn that she’s a major in Media and Communication too. She’s also a member of the SSU Thespians’ Society, though I haven't seen her acting (on the stage) yet. In terms of her visuals and physique, she’s like a model.
She makes a lot of jokes with Nien-ssi and at times, she even flirts with almost everyone she’s with, which Sohyun seems to be fine with. I’m assuming that’s just Xinyu being very playful. I mean, what do I know about relationships? But I’m pretty sure she’s only like that to people she’s comfortable enough with, but as a new associate of these women, it’s fun to see her be all self-loving and teasing with the rest of the Mad Money Club.
All in all, I hope we all get close, even if I’m not a "core member" of their club. If not, then at least respectful enough to each other. I don’t know how long I’ll be working with and for them, but all I can hope for is that things work out well while I’m getting to know them. Just like one of their 10 rules, I just gotta be(you)tiful... Be myself, ‘cause why not?
“Now I’m thinking that you should’ve just joined our group, instead,” Kotone tells Junghoon, snapping him out of his vivid recollections with the Mad Money Club.
“Why do you think that?”
“I don’t know. I thought it’d convince you to stop overthinking like this sometimes. Besides, my clubmates will treat you well, if you end up changing your mind later.”
“I’m already close enough to not be comfortable with my own clubmates. I think I’m good, but thanks for the concern, Tone-yah.”
“You’re welcome. But I’m just gonna put it out there again: our doors will always be open... That is unless you already have someone making you stay there for a reason, haven’t you?”
Junghoon smiling in silence says it all. Knowing what his face means, they cheer their friend on. He hasn’t felt what most people would call butterflies, at least not in a while.
From her eyes to her beautiful face. Her effortless yet flawless sense of humor. And that wink of hers and soft smile still gets him. How can he not be allured by this girl’s charm?
Yeonghwan notices Junghoon’s sudden smile. “Is there really someone you like?”
“I guess..?” Junghoon chuckles, not minding the feeling of his cheeks now warming up. “But it’s not that big of a deal.”
“I think your face says otherwise,” Myungsoo teases him. “You think you have a shot with someone there?”
“Do you like Sohyun-sunbae or something? You got a thing with lesbians?” Honggi adds.
“Nah… I don’t like her that way. Sohyun-noona’s kind of like a mentor to me. A tough, brave, and wise one. And I’m grateful to always learn from her.”
“Fair enough. Maybe it’s that freshman then? Gong Yubin? That girl looks so—”
Kotone darts him with a stare. “Honggi-yah, are you sure you’re not just saying your crushes out loud?”
Honggi raises his hands in the air. “I’m just guessing! Just guessing, alright? I’ll stop.”
“Wait, is it Nien-ssi then?” Myungsoo is right on the money. “I mean, based on your encounter with her earlier, it seems you got a thing going!”
“Nah, I doubt it,” Junghoon shakes it off, despite Myungsoo getting the correct answer. “I mean, look at me… I’m pretty big and she’s in a diff—”
“Dude!” Yeonghwan exclaims in disdain. “We’re just guessing and you’re already being like that to yourself.”
“Like what? I’m just being truthful, you know?”
“We’re in 2023, for crying out loud,” Kotone whines, knowing what Yeonghwan means. “Junghoon-ah, we are not living in some kind of freaking stereotypical rom-com drama from the last decade. This isn’t True Beauty or Lookism!”
“I know, but regardless, I accepted to join since I took Sohyun-noona’s offer, not because I wanna flirt with girls,” Junghoon looks down after a sigh. “I couldn’t say no to her offer. Not after how much she’s helped me since last year.”
“So that’s why you joined, huh…” Myungsoo realizes it’s more serious than they thought.
“I’m pretty sure you helped her a lot more, based on what she told us,” adds Yeonghwan.
“Yup…” Myungsoo begins to explain to Junghoon. “Sohyun told us when you two first partnered up for Social Sciences. You took care of things when she couldn’t respond to your texts, but you still managed to use all the resources she provided. She even told us about your project last semester. Like if you did that to a straight woman, she would’ve probably gone out with you!”
“That’s ridiculous, hyung…” Junghoon laughs at his last remark.
“He is,” Kotone laughs with him. “But oppa’s main point is, Junghoon-ah, you’ve helped Sohyun-sunbae big time. Without anything in return… You didn’t have to, but you did.”
= = = = = =
Months ago. Sohyun and Junghoon were standing in front of the open classroom door.
“You didn’t have to do it…” Sohyun reminded him. “That was our project for finals too!”
“I thought you were having a hard time, sunbae. Juggling all your gazette articles to meet the deadline on your org. You told me you were dealing with other courses, too. I feel like I had to do something.”
“You didn’t have to,” she objected. “At least not what you did. You could’ve just talked it out with the professor. I’m not even pissed that you’ve done the paper without me. I’m pissed because you did it, and still included my name… When all I did was send you a bunch of links for you to read alone, and I feel like shit because I didn’t even bother reading them in time.”
“And every single link you’ve sent me still helped me with finishing our project, sunbae… If I’m being honest, working together with you through the semester has been and still is one of the best experiences I’ve had with a randomly selected partner so far.”
Such an answer amuses her, strangely enough, she can’t even come up with anything. “Why’s that? What about the other partners you paired up with from other classes?”
“Most of them were also randomly selected, and the rest of them were just me working with my close friends, but we rarely have classes together for this semester... I can’t let people down, you know?”
“You know, you should really go out of your shell every once in a while,” she rebuked. “But for once, don’t do every single group task by yourself!”
“Yeah, but sometimes they would have emergencies, so I’d just cover for their parts,” he remained stubborn. Even his tone was consistently nonchalant to her. “Everyone wins.”
“Well, those things can happen for sure. But let me ask you something: can you tell the difference between a groupmate who can’t help you out because of an ‘emergency’ or a freeloader who’s just lying their ass off to get out of making an effort?”
This time, Junghoon runs out of words and excuses to defend his own misfortunes. He knows she’s right. The strongest point any concerned person can make in this scenario.
“See…” she softens her tone. “You do realize now that you’re being a pushover. Any sane or reasonable student would do anything to help out their partner—no matter how busy they may be. And if they can’t do anything to help or have anything to contribute, then you negotiate with them. Leave their names out, if you have to… You’re a smart kid.”
“Leaving my shell does sound nice, Sohyun-sunbaenim. But I doubt I have time for gatherings and all that, so it’s fine… (optimistic) For now, I have a lot on my plate… Maybe someday.”
“Look, umm… I always respect people’s privacy… But by any chance, are you off to study again or something? I feel like you’ve studied enough by yourself and if you keep this up, you may even end up teaching the whole class for the rest of the semester.”
He chuckles. “Even I don’t wanna do that. But no, I actually have to take my shift for the evening, before my coworker leaves the store empty again without notice.”
“You’re working part-time? Where?”
“Ne. I work at a convenience store and—” He notices the time on his wrist watch. “Crap. Sorry, but I really have to go.” He bows to Sohyun at a quick pace, much to her surprise. “Thank you, sunbae. Annyeonghi gasipsio!”
Sohyun only bows in uncertainty at the sight of Junghoon’s quick pace as tightens his backpack around his shoulders and leaves the hallway in a rush, leaving a trail of wind. She slowly runs her fingers through her hair and slightly scratches her head, processing the situation she was in. A student exits the room next to Sohyun, instantly noticing her.
“Sohyun-ssi!” she turns to see her classmate, Junhee, approaching her with enthusiasm. “Congrats on getting the highest paper with Junghoon-ssi.”
“Oh, Joonie. Thanks! You and Chaerin did great too.”
“Thank you! We certainly did. But we’re not the champions of the semester, so…” she smiles with anticipation. “Does that mean you’re treating the class this time?”
“If you guys don’t immediately leave the classroom next class, I’ll think about it. But only those who’ll stay can come,” she teases.
“You know my friends and I definitely can’t say no to that offer, so you bet that we’ll be staying and chillin’ there until you tell us the plan… But I gotta head back to the dorm. See ya!” she waves her farewell, before leaving the hallway.
Sohyun waves back at Junhee. However, guilt has yet to let go of her mind and heart.
“That’s mostly Junghoon’s effort, to say the least,” she whispers to herself. “Heck, all the credit should be given to him. Aigoo…” she sighs.
She thinks to herself, tilting her head in confusion. I never expected that I'd become a freeloader for once. Great job, Park Sohyun. I can’t accept this. Kid’s too generous. I really gotta make up to him and help in some way. I have to.
= = = = = =
It was the end of his fourth week as an assistant of the Mad Money Club when Sohyun personally talked to Junghoon right after their club meeting outside their room. After feeling a buzz in his pocket, Junghoon takes a look at his phone. ₩300,000 has been wired to his account. His eyes widened at the screen and blinked seven times before looking back to his sunbae, who cackled. To some, it may not be enough, to Junghoon, it's more than something. Six digits. How in the hell is poss—
“This isthis is too much, noona. I can’t accept this. I should wire back at least—”
“Don’t return a single won,” she interjects. “You do and you earn it, Junghoon-ah.”
“I owe you a lot. Kamsahamnida. Kamsa—” he keeps bowing to her over and over, overwhelmed by the reward he’s received from his warmhearted upperclassman.
“Yah. That’s enough bowing, Junghoon! We’re supposed to support each other’s backs, not break ‘em,” she stops him while having a good chortle. “And I thought we’re friends helping each other, not just sunbae and hoobae... And if you’re wondering how you can pay me back, don’t. You’ve done it already. Instead, you can promise me you’ll be more confident and respectful to yourself, alright?” She raises an eyebrow.
“Ne, Sohyun-noona! I’ll keep doing my best.”
“You already are… Now, have the girls been treating you well?”
“Of course. I really enjoyed meeting them during breaks. For once, it’s nice meeting new folks who aren’t just there to be one-time partners or group mates who you only meet in class projects or reviews.”
“That’s great… I even heard that you’ve got a little crush on Nien, don’t you?”
“No, I don’t!” he exclaims in panic. “I think Nien-ssi’s just a little cute and funny.”
Sohyun cackles at his sudden burst. “Come on, now. I don’t see why that’s a bad thing… Do you want me to give you her number?”
He clasps his hands, lacing his fingers together. “I don’t think it’s appropriate, noona. Not without her permission or her choice, it’s not right.”
“Bummer,” she pouts. “I think she would’ve loved to get to know you more outside the club. But you still get a pass in my book!”
She hits him lightly on the right shoulder, leaving him confused. “Umm, how so?”
“You're being respectful. Not to go all boomer on you, but nowadays, folks just get into hook-ups more than actual committed relationships, which is fine but, some of those people just give us gals the heebie jeebies and asshats who don't give any shit about creating connections! Especially men… But not you, Junghoon-ah… You're a classic gentleman.” she snaps her finger, which makes a thumbs up in front of him.
“I don't really know how to make of that, but thank you, noona. Based on your principles about relationships, you must be a pretty great girlfriend to Xinyu-ssi.”
“Thanks, Junghoon-ah…” she daydreams beside him. “She is, too. Maybe even a better girlfriend than me. More than I could’ve possibly imagined. She’s amazing.”
“I don’t know much about her yet, but from what I’ve seen from you guys, she’s pretty nice. You two look great together.”
“That’s too sweet of you. And I’m sure you’ll get along with Xinyu just fine… By the way, you should watch her plays sometime. I’ll pay for your ticket if you want.”
“That would be neat, but I’m sure I can afford it thanks to my gigs. Including the club.”
“Well, She’s actually gonna star in a new original romance play that's coming up by the end of the month, so you better check your calendar… It’s my queen we’re supporting.”
He’s intrigued. “I’ll see if I’m free that day, but I’m sure she’s a phenomenal actress.”
“She definitely is…” she sighs in awe. “Sometimes I can’t tell when she’s joking or being serious, like there are times when she does aegyos out of nowhere for no reason. That’s how I know she’s such a pro at these things.”
Junghoon laughs. “Maybe that’s just her charm. She knows that it gets you.”
“I guess so, and it keeps working every time…” she then faces him, retaining her smile. “But now, back to our last subject, do you want me to ask Nien for her number?”
“As much as I would like that, sunbae… We’ve only known each other for a whole month, just like with the rest of the club. It’s a bit too soon.”
“That's why you're getting to know each other through SNS. Don't you want that chance? It’s not even a chance anymore!” she whines at his impressive but irritable persistence.
“I do…” the hesitation in his voice starts to sound apparent. “Just not now… I want to give it time, if you understand what I mean. I do appreciate your consideration, though.”
Someone walks to them. A woman with a tall stature and long hair, slightly towering over Junghoon. Both of them recognize her. Speak of the goddess herself.
Xinyu rushes to Sohyun with an embrace. “Babe! Have you handled everyone’s payments yet?” For a moment, she turns to Junghoon with a cheerful smile. “Hey, Junghoon-ssi.”
Junghoon quietly bows to her, just as the loving couple embrace and passionately kiss in front of him. They’re a match made in heaven, Junghoon thinks to himself. And it’s also a bit awkward to be here. Why am I not leaving?
“I just did babe,” Sohyun nuzzles her nose. “Should I wire your payment as well?”
“That can wait, jagiya.” Her lover’s cheerful tone slowly shifts into a more seductive one. “You can pay me with something else, though.”
“As much as I would love that, I don’t think now’s the right time, Xinyu-yah...” Despite her words, Sohyun's actions can't help but rebel against her own restraints, allowing herself to lean closer towards Xinyu's hot, red lips.
“Then when’s the right time?”
“I should head out, noonas,” he mumbles and bows to them, hiding his agonizing embarrassment while the couple slowly embrace beside him. “Thank you for today.”
Right as he gets on the bus, he receives a text from Sohyun. Understandably, he expects another errand or follow-up from an upcoming group assignment in one of their classes. Maybe even an error in the total amount of her payment, which weirdly enough, he was partly hoping for.
[Sohyun: Here’s Nien’s number.] [Don’t you dare mess it up. Hwaiting!]
He begins typing his reply on his keypad, but he immediately notices a second message pop up before he can complete his text.
[Sohyun: If you’re typing that question, yes, I asked her!] [Do you need any other proof?]
She’s already read his thoughts. Junghoon takes a heavy breath and exhales with a smile. Is this really happening?
{Junghoon: I don’t know what to say, noona.}
[Sohyun: Don’t say anything, Junghoon.] [Just do well and go with the flow (>ᴗ•) b!]
{Junghoon: Kamsahaeyo.}
He proceeds to switch to his more familiar group chat in a fit of panic.
{JungJung: Guys, guys! You got a minute? I have an emergency.}
[Myungi: What happened, Jung?] [Everything alright?]

Hey everyone! I'm excited to take your fic requests! To keep things smooth and fun, please keep these rules when submitting:
No Underage Characters: All characters in requests must be 18+. No exceptions, so please don't include minors in any scenarios.
Non-Con is Okay, But Not Priority: I'm open to non-con themes, but they're not my main focus. I'll prioritize other requests first, so keep that in mind.
Fluff is Welcome, But Not Always My Focus I'm happy to write fluffy, wholesome content, but it's not my main thing. I lean toward spicier or more unique vibes, so don't expect fluff every time.
Specific Kinks: If your request includes specific kinks (mommy, noona, feet, lactating, etc.), I'll take the time to research the idol and their persona to make sure the portrayal feels authentic. I'll dive into their vibe and characteristics to get it right, so it'll take a lot more time to complete.
Underrated Genres: I love crafting smut with unique, underrated genres like action, fantasy, adventure, horror, and more. Send me your wild ideas.
Notes: Be clear and specific in your requests, it helps me craft something you'll love. I reserve the right to decline requests that don't align with my comfort zone or creative style. Thanks for understanding.

Strangers ch. 42
Yoongi confronts your attacker, and you awaken from one nightmare into another.
Pairing: Idol!Yoongi x Actress!Reader
Word count: 1.9k
Genre: fluff, angst, idfk
|mlist|
<–– Prev Next ––>
“What? Who the fuck are you? Get out of my house before I call the police!” The redhead reaches for the door in an attempt to close it, but Yoongi’s hold is too strong. He’s been waiting for this moment for two weeks– and he won’t let the opportunity slip away.
“You don’t know me, Seoyeon? And here I thought you were a fan.” With his free hand, Yoongi reaches up and pulls down his mask. Seoyeon’s sneer falls in an instant, replaced with the look of utter shock and adoration that Yoongi knows so well.
“Yoon-Suga? Wait, oh- oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my-” Seoyeon’s eyes roll up into her head and she keels over backwards, hitting the floor with a heavy thump.
Well, that was quick. Y/n fainted too, Yoongi remembers, when she first saw him. Looking at the fallen girl, part of Yoongi wants to feel sympathy for her. After all, she’s a fan.
But then he remembers Y/n shaking as she told Yoongi what the woman in front of him had done to her. He remembers every time he saw his friend flinch at a light breeze, the tremor in her voice when she explained that scar on her leg, and his own fear at finding Y/n’s bloody coat in the river.
All because of her. And so Yoongi lets himself into the house, quietly closing the door behind him as he waits for her to wake up.
It had taken D two weeks to find Kang Seoyeon’s name and address from nothing more than the photo Yoongi had gotten off of Lisa’s laptop. Only now, as he stares at the woman’s motionless frame, Yoongi wonders if she really could have been capable of hurting Y/n like that. She’s pretty, petite, and vaguely reminds Yoongi of a pixie.
Another minute passes before Seoyeon begins to shift groggily. “Wha…”
“I’m not helping you up,” Yoongi says shortly.
Seoyeon’s head snaps up, her piercing eyes capturing Yoongi’s own. “Suga. Suga! It really wasn’t a dream?” She scrambles to her feet, reaching forward, and Yoongi suddenly feels as though he’s about to be eaten alive.
“I knew it,” Seoyeon whispers reverently. “Cap said you’d come to me. We’re meant to be.”
Y/n’s right– she’s psycho.
Yoongi feels darkness pooling in his heart, and loathing bubbling to the surface. “I don’t care what you think is meant to be. But there’s someone I do care about– and you deserve to rot in prison for what you did to her.”
“I- what… oh!” Seoyeon lowers her arms, an eerie smile growing on her face, much too wide to seem genuine. “You mean Y/n?”
Yoongi growls– a low, animalistic rumble– as he takes a step closer. “You tried to kill her.”
“But- ah,” Seoyeon seems to wince at the cold fury in his voice. Good. “I did it to protect you! Y/n thinks you belong to her, but you don’t!” Faster than Yoongi can react, Seoyeon’s hands shoot out and grab Yoongi’s shoulders with a grip forceful enough to hurt, the smile never leaving her face. “You belong to me, to us, Suga! To ARMYs!”
Shit. She’s stronger than he expected. But perhaps…
“Don’t. Touch. Me.” Yoongi says, lacing a note of authority into his tone. Unbelievably, Seoyeon’s grip loosens, and Yoongi uses the opportunity to push her hands away from him.
I don’t belong to anyone,” Yoongi continues forcefully, watching Seoyeon seem to shrink before him. “And nothing gives you the right to hurt her!”
Seoyeon pauses, and the house is dead silent for an eternal minute. “Nothing?” She begins snickering– quietly at first, but soon enough she doubles over with laughter. “You really don’t know what’s going to happen to your pretty little girlfriend, do you?”
It’s as though Yoongi’s blood has turned to ice. “What?”
“Ooh, you don’t know! Well, Cap said not to say…” Seoyeon pretends to think.
Yoongi grinds his teeth together in frustration; he knows he’s being baited, but if Y/n’s in danger… “Tell me.”
Seoyeon’s eyes are blown out as she stares at Yoongi, licking her lips. “I’d consider it a favor. I’d be willing to do you a lot of favors, you know. I’m… very good at favors.”
Yoongi’s stomach lurches. He doesn’t want to know what Seoyeon would do to him. “Don’t give me more reasons to call the cops. I could have you arrested.”
Seoyeon laughs again. “For what?”
“Attempted murder isn’t enough?” Yoongi fires back. “You nearly killed Y/n, you bi-”
“There’s no evidence. No one saw anything– I’m untouchable.” Seoyeon advances menacingly. “But you know who isn’t? Y/n.”
Yoongi opens his mouth to– he’s not sure; Question? Yell? Threaten?– when his phone buzzes in his pocket. He winces, unwilling to tear his eyes from the predator before him. Still, it could be Y/n– and Yoongi’s been worrying over her condition. He places himself between Seoyeon and the door before answering his phone, eyes never leaving hers.
“Yes?”
“Yo, Gloss, that girl you got me tracking down with the shitty dye job?”
Oh, it’s just his old friend. “D, I’m busy, let me call you later.”
“Nah, man, you gotta hear this. You’re gonna like it.”
Seoyeon stands motionless before him. Yoongi’s time before his driver bursts in is almost up and he hasn’t gotten a confession. “Fine. What is it?”
“Remember that photo of you and your girl that went viral a while back?”
How could he forget? The infamous picture from that night got him and Y/n into the whole publicity mess and changed their relationship forever.
“I was tracking Seoyeon’s IP address and digging through her socials… dude, the original photo came from one of her accounts.”
Yoongi’s blood turns to ice as D continues: “A bunch of these ARMY girls have backup accounts, and this one’s hers. You’ve got a stalker, my man.”
Could it be true? Had Kang Seoyeon followed Yoongi to the hospital and found Y/n? Were her injuries and trauma his fault?
Yoongi swallows, feeling the wave of anxiety almost drown him before he pushes it away. Not now.
“Thanks for letting me know,” he manages.
“No worries. Yo, what’s wrong? Are you-” Beep. Yoongi hangs up and shoves the phone into his pocket. “Now, where were we? Oh, right. You were going to tell me everything you know about Y/n and anyone that could hurt her.”
Seoyeon laughs, a pitched, wild noise. “Excuse me? Who said I’d tell you anything?”
Yoongi barely has to lean forward until he’s so close that Seoyeon needs to tilt her head up to look at him. “I did.”
Yoongi can hear her breath catch, practically seeing the wheels turning in her head. If she’s truly as obsessive as he thinks she is…
After a pause, Seoyeon grins. “Fine. Cap’s gonna hate me, but fine. I’ll tell you everything, and just in case you think I’m bullshitting, I’ll show you I mean business… for a price.”
Yoongi blinks. Is she bluffing? Could Y/n really be in danger? Am I in danger too?
“So? What’ll it be?”
Y/n. It’s for Y/n. But is it worth it?
~~~
“Help! Help me!” A garbled, genderless voice yells.
“I’m trying!” You cry, running through the empty streets. The voice echoes around every corner. “Tell me where you are! I don’t know how to help you!”Suddenly you trip, falling hard. The pavement has turned into your bed, your legs tangled in the sheets.
“No one needs help from a traitor,” the same voice says from inside your head. “A liar.”
You struggle to rise, but your mattress seems to envelop you, pulling you in, and instead of soft sheets and down you’re surrounded by ice, unable to find purchase.
“I’m not a liar!” You scream, scrabbling for grip as the ice rises past your shoulders. Goosebumps erupt on your flesh and you begin shivering violently, the only movement the ice will allow. “T-t-tell me ho-w to f-find you!”
“Find me?” The ice finishes swallowing you whole, the gaping chasm closing above your head. You know you shouldn’t be able to breathe but your chest still rises and falls with the desperate action. “All you have to do… is look in a mirror.” The ice beneath your feet disappears and you’re dropped into the yawning darkness. You blink and the area is suddenly flooded with light. You’re in a jail cell, empty except for a large mirror. You feel something dry and sweet in your mouth, and when you glance at the mirror…
Lisa stares back at you, a pastry between her teeth. You spit it out, reaching forward. Lisa mirrors you, her hand outstretched.
“Where are you?” You murmur, watching as your words escape Lisa’s mouth. Suddenly her lips in the mirror curl into a smirk.
“I’m right in front of you. I always have been.”
“No!” Your eyes fly open, your heart thundering. You clutch at your chest, feeling as though the hand is holding your very being from falling to pieces. Fumbling for your phone, you wince at the bright screen before noticing the time. 4:00– well, it’s longer than you’ve managed to sleep all week. You groan at yet another nightmare, falling back onto your pillow with a sense of defeat. You hate this fear within you, but what can you do? Lisa’s gone and the redhead may have gotten to her. The detective told you not to worry, but how can you not worry? And now your mom is cutting you off, and you might have to drop out, and Lisa is gone, and it seems like the only constant left in your life is Yoongi.
Yoongi. You chuckle hollowly, falling back onto your pillow. He’s the least consistent person you know, but at least he’s always been there for you.
Ignoring your stomach’s rumbling protests, you close your eyes and turn over, praying sleep takes you again.
And take you it does– sweet, dreamless sleep captures you and when you blearily awake again it’s with sunlight streaming through your windows. It must be late in the morning already. Your phone buzzes obnoxiously with what sound like dozens of notifications.
Maybe I should just delete Twitter, you muse defeatedly as you flip over your phone, scrolling mindlessly through your mentions. Right away, you notice something strange:
@bangtan_thotyeondan: yo I hated on @yourname at first but tbh that was a brutal move by #SUGA :(
You suddenly feel sick. The- it- it’s…
“You.” You whisper, all blood draining from your face. “You. And…”
The photo is of a beautiful redheaded girl. Her. She’s beaming, fingers interlaced with those of a very familiar man.
You stare into Yoongi’s eyes in the photo, trying desperately to see something that isn’t there. You struggle for a second to form words, barely able to breathe. “You.”
[flufftober day 2, wc: 870] - your sweatshirt : y. seoyeon
SOMETHING IS MISSING. no, it’s not the food (or, lack thereof) in your fridge. or the canon digicam that was on your desk, because you watched xinyu sneak it into her tote the other day when she thought you weren’t looking. your hoodie is missing.
on weekend movie nights with your girlfriend, you have a certain hoodie you wear every week without fail. now, weekend movie nights weren’t exactly a thing until around a year ago, and you don’t remember when you started wearing the hoodie during them, but it’s very special, brings back memories to kre’s first stage which you wore it—a white pullover hoodie that has the words “always rooting for s1 yoon seoyeon!” carefully written with a sky blue fabric marker—to.
you still remember the way her eyes sparkled when you surprised her in the waiting room pre-performance, especially after you told her that you wouldn’t be able to make it because of a separate schedule you had as a tripleS member. she held your hand tightly until they were called for standby, her warmth still lingering long after she left.
anyway, you have an inkling of where the garment has gone. a tiny hint. it might be a figure on the couch, wearing the missing item in question.
you approach the figure, standing in front of them and looming over. “i wonder whose sweatshirt that is…”
they sluggishly look up from their phone, revealing the face of none other than your girlfriend. seoyeon raises her eyebrows, looks down at the hoodie she’s wearing, and looks back at you. she disregards the ever-growing blush on her cheeks and flashes a cheeky smile. “yeah, i wonder who.”
this isn’t the first time she’s stolen clothes of yours. it’s a regular thing; you don’t even need to leave the comfort of seoyeon’s room to get a change of clothes, because half of your closet is in her closet. you can’t remember any of your clothes that she hasn’t worn. it’s practically one of her hobbies, adding to the list which consists of lying around, watching movies… and watching more movies.
what’s nice about it, though, is the fact that anything that she steals is too big on her. pajama pants pool around her ankles, and she gains sweater paws from any tops she finds. it’s incredibly endearing, and erases any of the (virtually nonexistent) annoyance you might have towards her. like now, where the weekly movie night sweater is bagging up at the sleeves two years later.
“you’re not gonna give it up, are you?”
“no?” she retorts, patting the empty space next to her which compels you to sit. the netflix home menu is displayed on the tv, ready to play anything of your choosing. last week’s movie was a rewatch of black panther, one of seoyeon’s all-time favorites and one that the two of you probably rewatch monthly. it never gets old. even if you have to watch the outdated ‘what are those?!’ joke hundreds of times over.
you reach for the remote, which is on top of a stack of albums that everyone in the haus (sans soomin) has signed, and navigate through the different genres that the streaming service offers. “what do you want to watch?”
seoyeon hums, resting her head on your shoulder and fiddling around with the drawstrings of (your) hoodie. her eyes are trained on the screen, watching you sift through rows of movies and shows with a look of disinterest. “you pick.”
glancing down at your girlfriend, who’s now focused on tying the drawstrings into a bow, you jut out your lower lip. your gaze drifts over to the ‘horror’ section and smile. well, it is october. seoyeon seems to notice your lack of movement with the remote and looks up, so you scroll over to it.
“no, y/n. you can’t do this to me,” she turns to you, absolutely petrified beyond comprehension. her reaction makes sense, because the last horror movie you watched (with kotone and hyerin, when they came over) resulted in paranoia around the haus despite her confidence in not being scared. and you can’t take her seriously when she tries to convince you not to do something, because she really just ends up looking like sad violin music is about to play.
“pfft,” you ruffle her hair and pull the slightly-tightened hood over her head. “you look like that low quality sad hamster.”
“what did you just say about me?” she frowns, seemingly miffed. “it’s barely october. why should we watch a horror movie?”
“it’s still october—a little bit of the conjuring won’t hurt you, seoyeonnie.”
you press play on the remote, and seoyeon lets out a strangled cry which sounds like a mix of a bird and a dying rat. “you’re dead, y/n. i swear on my life.”
wrapping your arm around her and pulling her closer, you laugh. “we’re not even five minutes in! you’ve got both me and my hoodie you stole, wrapped around you. there’s no need to worry.”
“don’t you hate horror movies too?” seoyeon mumbles into your shoulder, her speech muffled.
oh, that’s what you forgot. but, there’s nothing you can do about it now, is there? “uh… let’s just watch, okay?”
Nineteen | My person
"How do you even be rockin' with buddy? Take it from her and I leave her with nothin" - P Power, Gunna ft. Drake
you were just about to head out the door for school when your phone buzzed with a text from your girlfriend.
my person 🤍 good morning girlfriend still can't believe i get to call you that anyways, let's walk to class tgthr tdy
us forever 🤍 hiii girlfriend i'm just now heading out so i'll see you when i get there?
my person 🤍 i'll be waiting for you at the entrance
us forever 🤍 can't wait to see you 🤍
you had just pulled into the school parking lot, closing your car door with a soft thud when you spotted her, nien, waiting by the entrance just like she promised.
“waiting for you was actually torturous,” she said dramatically. “i missed you.”
“we literally saw each other last night,” you snorted.
“still too long,” she replied, already pulling you into a hug, her lips brushing yours like she couldn’t help it.
being public like this, after months of hiding things with yunjin, felt weird, but not in a bad way. there was no second-guessing, no glancing around to see who might be watching. nien wasn’t scared of people knowing, she wasn’t embarrassed to be seen with you, she was proud, and that alone made everything feel more right than anything you'd had before.
you walked to class hand in hand, fingers laced naturally.
unfortunately, your first class was videography, which meant two familiar faces you weren’t thrilled to see, yunjin and chaewon. you hadn’t run into either of them since the whole situation blew up, not that you were complaining, but now, there was no avoiding it.
still, with nien beside you, nothing really affected you. even when you caught yunjin side-eyeing you from across the room.
but of course, yunjin just had to say something.
as soon as class ended and you were packing your things, you heard her voice behind you. “so i wasn’t wrong.”
you turned slowly, exhaling through your nose. “oh my fucking god,” you muttered.
“there really was something going on between you and nien,” yunjin said, arms crossed, voice sharp.
“are you serious right now? that’s the most hypocritical shit i’ve ever heard.” you blinked.
“i knew it—”
“you cheated on me,” you cut in. “i never laid a hand on nien while we were together. i was loyal the entire time, even when i knew you weren’t.”
nien stepped closer, her hand on your waist.
“you lied to me,” yunjin snapped.
“i didn’t lie about anything. we didn’t start anything until after i broke up with you. you think i’m like you? please.” your voice was rising, sharp with frustration. “honestly? i wish i had cheated. maybe then i wouldn't have wasted so much time feeling guilty about something you were already doing to me.”
“i can’t believe you’d do this to me…”
“i don’t even know why i liked you in the first place.” you just stared at her, looking at her in disbelief.
“let’s go,” nien said quietly, tugging you out of the building before you said anything else that might make you spiral.
you didn’t talk at first, just sat with her on the stairs outside, facing the parking lot, the breeze cooling you down.
“i’m sorry for going off. i know you told me not to let her get to me,” you sighed.
“no, it’s okay. you needed to say it. i would've done the same if you hadn’t stepped up first.” nien shook her head, brushing her thumb against your hand.
you looked over at her, and she offered a soft smile.
then, because she was nien, she added with a wink, “you’re hot when you’re mad. just saying.”
“oh, yeah?” you raised an eyebrow, finally breaking into a smile.
“mhm,” she nodded. “you can take your anger out on me next time. i wouldn’t complain.”
“you’re so stupid.” you nudged her with your shoulder.
“and you love it.”
you did. god, you really did.
later that day, after your separate classes, you were on your way to meet back up with nien like you’d planned. the sun was starting to dip, casting long shadows across the campus as you turned the corner near the quad, right where you were supposed to find her.
but instead of seeing her waiting casually, you were met with raised voices. your steps slowed when you spotted her, nien, facing off with none other than yunjin.
“how do my leftovers taste?”
nien didn’t even flinch. “mhmm. delicious. scrumptious even.” she tilted her head slightly, smirking.
“you bitch—” yunjin snapped, lunging toward her.
before she could get anywhere though, sakura stepped in from the side, quickly holding yunjin back.
you stopped in your tracks, watching the exchange unfold. yunjin struggled in sakura's hold, her face angry while nien stood her ground, unfazed.
"let go of me, sakura!" yunjin hissed, fighting against the hold.
"yunjin, calm down," sakura said firmly, her hands on yunjin’s shoulders, trying to steady her. "this isn't the time or place."
nien’s gaze shifted to you as you slowly walked toward the group, her lips curling into a knowing smirk. "you’re just in time," she said, her voice playful.
"what’s going on here?" you raised an eyebrow, a small smirk forming on your own lips.
yunjin’s eyes narrowed at you, her frustration evident. "what’s going on? oh, you’re asking me that? after everything?" she scoffed, still trying to break free from sakura’s hold. "this isn’t over, y/n. don’t think i’m done with you."
"i think you’ve said enough." you glanced over at nien, who was looking incredibly unfazed by the scene. "are you okay?"
nien nodded casually. "never been better." her eyes flicked back to yunjin, and she shot her a cheeky grin. "honestly, i’ve been waiting for this moment."
"don’t act like you’ve won anything, nien," yunjin spat, "this isn't over."
"wouldn’t dream of it," nien replied. "but you need to accept it, yunjin. she’s mine now."
yunjin’s jaw clenched as she finally stopped struggling, breathing heavily. sakura sighed, letting her go but keeping a watchful eye on her.
"let's just go," nien said to you, her voice softer now, turning away from the confrontation.
you gave one last look at yunjin, who was glaring at you, before following nien. "are you sure you’re okay?"
"yeah," nien said, glancing back at you with a smile that was almost too sweet. "that was light work."
the two of you walked off together, the lingering tension from earlier slowly fading as you got further from the scene.
“we should head back to mine,” you suggested casually.
“my car’s right here though,” nien raised an eyebrow.
“how would you feel about leaving it here overnight and we head back to school together tomorrow?” you smiled, a mischievous glint in your eyes.
“why are we going to yours all of a sudden?” nien slowed her pace, looking at you curiously.
you shrugged, trying to sound nonchalant. “because you look really hot when you're mad,” you said, teasing her. “and you also said i tasted... what was it? scrumptious even?”
“you heard that part?” her eyes widened slightly as she realized what you meant.
“yep,” you confirmed, grinning. “but i’m not mad.” you leaned in closer, lowering your voice playfully. “unless you want me to be.”
“i also feel the need to head back to yours now.” nien shot you a look, clearly trying not to smile.
you laughed, feeling her pull you along as she practically dragged you to your car. “you’re needy now, huh?”
“you threatened me with a good time, and now i’m just recuperating,” nien smirked, keeping her hold on your hand.
you laughed again, unlocking the car as you both climbed in, the door shutting behind you. as you started the engine, you glanced over at her, nien already reclined her seat slightly, watching you with that same smirk tugging at her lips.
“you know,” she said, voice low, “for someone who claimed they weren’t mad… you’re driving like you’ve got something to prove.”
“oh, i do.” you raised a brow.
she leaned in, brushing her fingers over your thigh. “then prove it.”
the rest of the drive passed in a blur of quiet glances and stolen touches.
as the door closed behind you, nien was already pressing you up against the wall.
“thanks for inviting me back to your,” she whispered.
“anytime, babe.” you responded, already wrapping your arms around her neck and pulling her closer.
Fifteen | Crashing down
"She's her problem now Baby, and she'll stay with her" - Tummy Hurts, Reneé Rapp
you made eye contact with yunjin for a couple of seconds before shifting your full attention to nien, blocking the korean-american girl from your mind.
you delivered your line, and nien responded by kissing you, just like the script said.
"cut," yunjin called out.
but you and nien kept kissing.
"cut," yunjin repeated, her voice sharper this time.
still, you and nien didn't pull away.
"cut!" yunjin yelled, louder and more frustrated.
finally, you and nien broke apart, slightly breathless.
"was it a good take?" you asked casually, as nien wiped some of your lip gloss off her lips with the back of her hand.
"yeah, it should be; we're just gonna look over it," chaewon replied, glancing at the monitor.
you and nien exchanged an awkward glance before getting off the bed. you made your way over to where intak was standing, arms crossed and smirking.
"that kiss was a lil something-something," he teased, nudging you playfully.
"we just wanted to make it good for the film," you replied coolly.
"sure," he nodded, clearly unconvinced but letting it slide.
you were about to talk back when yunjin approached, her expression tight.
"y/n, let's talk," she said, gesturing toward the door, her tone leaving little room for argument.
"later. i'm a little busy talking with intak right now," you replied, barely sparing her a glance.
"it's important," yunjin pressed, her voice firmer.
intak looked between the two of you, sensing the tension thickening like fog. not wanting to be caught in the crossfire, he gave a polite nod and quickly excused himself. coward.
you sighed and followed yunjin outside. the cool air hit your face, but it did nothing to ease your feelings right now.
"so you wanna explain that?" yunjin snapped as soon as you were far enough from the door.
"explain what? i was just talking to intak," you replied, feigning innocence.
"you know that's not what i'm talking about," yunjin shot back, crossing her arms over her chest.
"i really don't," you said, your voice dripping with mock confusion.
"okay, since you wanna act like this. why didn't you stop nien when she kept kissing you?" yunjin's eyes narrowed.
"why would i? she was just acting," you shrugged, nonchalant.
"we both know damn well that wasn't acting. she likes you," yunjin accused, her tone sharp.
"if she does, then what?" you countered, raising an eyebrow.
"i would hope my girlfriend would keep some distance from another girl that clearly likes her," yunjin said, her voice tight with frustration.
"well, i think chaewon likes you. will you keep your distance from her if i ask?" you shot back without missing a beat.
"that's different," yunjin sighed.
"tell me how it's any different. i'm in the same situation as you. nien's my main partner, chaewon's yours. what's different? 'cause i really need to know," you challenged, your patience wearing thin.
"you and nien kiss for this project," yunjin stated flatly. you couldn't lie—she had a point there.
"we're actors, though. it means nothing," you lied effortlessly.
"even if it means nothing to you, it clearly meant something to nien," yunjin shot back, her gaze sharp.
"at least she makes her feelings public," you muttered under your breath.
"i'm sorry, what was that?" yunjin asked, disbelief etched in her features.
before either of you could say more, soobin poked his head out. "are y'all done out here? we need to film the last scene."
"give us—" yunjin started, but you cut her off. "yeah, we're done talking," you said curtly, heading back inside with soobin. yunjin stood there for a few seconds, frozen, her jaw clenched before she finally followed.
she wasn't done talking to you. but that would have to wait.
eventually, filming wrapped up, the tension still lingering in the air.
"dinner on me to celebrate all the troubles and shit we went through to get this done," soobin said, stretching his arms with a satisfied grin.
"and drinks on me because we deserve to get fucked up," yeonjun added, already pulling out his phone to scout for bars nearby.
"i will not complain about that," chaewon chimed in, slinging her bag over her shoulder.
everyone began packing up but since you were only an actor, you didn't have much to carry, so you decided to help keeho tidy up his area.
"so... you and nien?" keeho asked casually, stacking some equipment.
"what about us?" you replied, helping him pack the cables.
"are you two... you know?" keeho pressed, raising an eyebrow.
"keeho, just ask what you wanna ask," you shot back, not missing a beat.
"are you two dating?" he finally blurted.
"no," you shook your head, stuffing some scripts into a bag.
"then what the fuck was that kiss earlier? i know you heard yunjin say cut," keeho said, narrowing his eyes.
"guess she couldn't get enough of me," you shrugged nonchalantly.
"so you two like each other," keeho smirked, clearly entertained.
"maybe," you replied, glancing over and catching yunjin eavesdropping, her gaze sharp as ever.
"we're leaving now," yunjin announced abruptly, her voice cutting through.
"let's go then," you said, brushing past her to walk out with keeho, pretending not to notice the glare she shot your way.
"are you riding with me?" keeho asked as you reached the parking lot.
"y/n can ride with me," yunjin interjected quickly, her tone firm. chaewon tilted her head slightly at that but kept her thoughts to herself.
just then, intak and nien emerged from the building, loading their stuff into keeho's car.
"actually, i'll ride with keeho," you decided, heading toward his car without another glance at yunjin.
"i hope there's still room for me," you said, standing behind nien as she shut the trunk.
she turned around, her smile softening. "of course. i can always make room for you."
"good." nien helped you toss your bag into the backseat, and the two of you climbed in together.
"i think i fucked up. don't make out in the back of my car!" keeho groaned as he settled into the driver's seat.
"we make no promises," you joked, buckling in with a grin.
"i will actually jump out of this car if y'all start that shit," intak muttered from the passenger seat, shaking his head.
meanwhile, yunjin, chaewon, soobin, and yeonjun stood near the front of the building, watching the scene unfold.
"i had a feeling the rumors were true," yeonjun remarked, his eyes following keeho's car as it pulled away.
"they're not," yunjin snapped, her jaw tight.
"then how do you explain that?" yeonjun countered.
"they're just playing their roles a little too well," yunjin said coolly, unlocking her car with a sharp click. "now let's go. we have to beat them there."
"but filming's literally over," yeonjun muttered, trailing behind as the group followed yunjin to her car.
the whole dinner was spent with you and nien hanging onto each other. obviously part of the plan, and tonight you were going all out. you didn’t make eye contact with yunjin even once, except during the group cheers at the beginning. you talked to everyone but her, even chaewon, just to really drive the point home: she was the problem.
once everyone finished eating, you all made your way to a bar right across the street.
you were busy taking shots with keeho and yeonjun when yunjin pulled nien off to the side while chaewon was outside putting something in the car.
"i didn’t know you and y/n were that close," yunjin said.
"oh, it’s recent. we’ve just been good company to each other lately," nien replied casually.
"do you like her?" yunjin asked, her tone sharp.
"well..." nien trailed off, letting the word hang in the air.
"you shouldn’t. i’m pretty sure she’s already dating somebody else," yunjin snapped.
"yeah, i know. i don’t really like who she’s dating, though," nien shot back, her glare unwavering, making it clear she knew exactly of the “relationship” that was going on between you and yunjin.
"don’t be a homewrecker," yunjin warned.
"you don’t have to worry about me," nien replied, raising her hands in mock defense. "what you should worry about is her." she nodded toward chaewon, who had just walked back through the door.
"you don’t know anything," yunjin retorted.
"okay~" nien dragged out the word with a smirk.
yunjin stared her down for a moment before turning on her heel and walking over to chaewon. nien just laughed to herself and made her way back to you.
"your girlfriend just threatened me," she announced with a grin.
"she did? how?" you asked, intrigued.
"i think she was trying to act like a wingman at first, but then she switched up when i admitted i was interested in you," nien said.
"oooh. you’re interested in me," you teased.
"oh, shit! you weren’t supposed to know," nien replied, feigning shock.
"sucks for you. i have a girlfriend right now," you shot back playfully.
"right now," nien repeated with a sly grin. "but maybe not in a couple of hours, hopefully."
"hopefully," you echoed, smirking.
you spent the rest of the night taking shots with the group, minus yunjin, who you continued to avoid. yunjin, on the other hand, couldn’t stop watching you. the way you laughed with nien, how close you seemed, the casual touches; it all annoyed her. sometimes nien would catch yunjin’s glare and respond with a smug smile, especially when you were leaning into the taiwanese-vietnamese girl, and that really set yunjin on edge. but she held back, knowing she couldn’t cause a scene in front of everyone.
luckily for her, you eventually slipped away to the bathroom. yunjin followed, waiting outside the one-person stall. as soon as you stepped out, she grabbed your wrist and pulled you into a nearby private room, slamming the door shut behind you.
“what the fuck, yunjin?” you yelled, but the korean-american girl quickly covered your mouth, dragging you into an empty room, meant for private sessions, and slamming the door shut.
“what the fuck is your problem?” yunjin snapped the moment the door clicked shut, her eyes blazing with frustration.
“what are you even talking about, yunjin?” you shot back, feigning confusion.
“what do you mean, what?” she lashed out, her hands gesturing wildly. “you and nien! whatever the fuck you two have going on.”
“i don’t know what you want me to say,” you replied flatly, crossing your arms defensively.
“are you serious? you and nien have been acting like girlfriends all night!” yunjin spat, her voice rising with each word.
“i mean, isn’t that good for us though? you didn’t want anybody to know about us,” you countered.
“that doesn’t mean i want people to think you’re with somebody else,” yunjin shot back, her frustration boiling over.
“as long as we know what’s happening between us, it’s fine. that’s what you said, right?” you retaliated.
“yeah, but we should at least not entertain other people,” she snapped, the hypocrisy in her words almost laughable.
you nearly rolled your eyes. “you act like you’re single. what’s the problem with me doing the same?”
“i’m sorry i don’t want people to make up rumors and shit about us,” yunjin said, her voice softer now, but the irritation still lingering.
“that’s literally the least of my worries about us,” you muttered under your breath, shaking your head.
yunjin sighed, rubbing her face in frustration. “i don’t know what you want me to do to make this better.”
“i don’t want anything,” you shrugged, your indifference only fueling her annoyance.
yunjin’s jaw clenched. “so you want me to not hang out with anybody and devote all my attention to you, basically?”
“that’s literally not what i said at all. obviously, we don’t understand each other. maybe it’s best if we just end this,” you said, your voice steady but your heart pounding.
“wait, y/n, please don’t break up with me. we can settle our problems and be together. please,” she begged, her voice trembling slightly as her eyes pleaded with you.
you sighed, watching her crumble in front of you, her desperation evident in the way she clung to the last shred of hope.
“we can even become public if that’s what you want. just please don’t leave me,” she added quickly.
“then let’s go out there right now and announce our relationship,” you said without missing a beat, challenging her.
yunjin physically recoiled, her face betraying her hesitation before she quickly recovered. “well, maybe not right now, but like within a week, of course.”
“why not?” you pressed, crossing your arms.
“listen, just hear me out. i obviously want to be with you, but i just gotta handle some stuff first, and then we can—”
“so you can cut off all your hoes?” you scoffed, bitterness lacing your words.
“i have no hoes! just you,” yunjin exclaimed, her voice a mix of frustration and desperation.
“can you please stop lying?” you snapped, rolling your eyes.
“baby, i swear i only want to be with you. you’re the love of my life,” yunjin said, stepping closer, her eyes searching yours for any sign of forgiveness.
you sighed deeply, walking toward her, watching her face light up with hope—only for it to drop when you spoke. “you should be saying that to chaewon.”
“what do you mean?” yunjin choked out, her face paling.
“you thought i wouldn’t know?” you asked, your voice calm but laced with fury.
“listen, i don’t know what nien told you, but nothing is going on between me and chaewon,” she stammered.
“nien didn’t tell me anything; i’m the one who told her,” you replied coldly.
“huh? what do you mean?” yunjin’s confusion only made her look guiltier.
“i literally saw you two, yunjin!” you yelled, your anger finally spilling over.
“baby, that’s a misunderstanding,” yunjin tried to explain, her words empty.
“so you remember our anniversary? when i suddenly couldn’t meet up? it was because i saw you laid up in bed with chaewon,” you said, your voice steady despite the ache in your chest.
“listen, baby, what i had with chaewon wasn’t serious,” yunjin said, stepping closer as if proximity could erase the betrayal.
“so we weren’t serious?” a new voice cut through, and both of you turned to see chaewon standing in the doorway.
“huh?” yunjin spun around, her face draining of color.
“you just told y/n we weren’t serious. she already found out, what’s the point of hiding it?” chaewon said, her expression unreadable.
“did you tell her?” yunjin asked, her voice sharp with accusation.
“i didn’t say anything,” chaewon replied coolly.
“i literally just found out on my own. nobody told me anything,” you told her.
“wait, y/n, can you just hear me out for a second—” yunjin pleaded, her voice desperate.
“what is there to hear you out about? i know everything,” you interrupted, your voice low but firm. “even your project that, for some reason, included you dating me.”
“i swear there’s context,” yunjin insisted, her eyes glossy with unshed tears.
“i don’t even care. i’m gonna make this easier for all of us and just break up with you now,” you said softly, the finality in your words hitting harder than any scream could.
“baby, please,” yunjin begged, her voice breaking.
“i hope you and chaewon are happy together,” you said quietly, turning on your heel and walking out of the room.
31 . regret . written
prev . main
later that evening, you found yourself sitting in nakyoung's car, looking out of the window as she drove. you knew being here was wrong, especially after everything that had gone down after the breakup, but here you were.
"still regretting it?" nakyoung asked, glancing at you with a small smirk.
you rolled your eyes, leaning back in the passenger seat, arms crossed over your chest. "i'm not answering that."
nakyoung chuckled softly. "you didn't have to come, you know."
"i know," you muttered watching the streetlights blur past. "i shouldn't have."
"but you did," nakyoung's voice softened, "i meant it, though. i had a good time today, despite... everything."
you scoffed. "despite our exes competing with each other the whole time and ignoring us?"
she shrugged. "yeah, despite that. i always enjoy time with you"
it was too easy to fall into the pattern again with nakyoung as if nothing had changed between you. especially because this is how you both used to spend your time when you were stressed out, going on a drive to explore the scenery.
nakyoung took a turn down a quieter road, and the city faded behind you. "i miss this, you know," she said, breaking the silence again. "just... us talking like this."
"don't," you warned, turning to face her. "we're not doing this. you're with sohyun now."
"and you're with xinyu," she added, her voice gentle. "but that doesn't change the fact that it's... easy with us."
you couldn't deny that and that was the problem. you twirled your phone in your hand, a sense of guilt creeping in. xinyu had no idea you were here, no idea you were sitting in a car with your ex, and talking as if there's chances of getting back together.
"why'd you ask me to come, nakyoung?" you finally asked, your voice quieter than you intended.
she sighed, fingers tapping lightly on the steering wheel. "because i don't know what to do with this. with us. i thought maybe if we talked, it would clear things up for me."
"for you," you echoed, bitterness creeping into your tone. "what about sohyun? what about xinyu?"
nakyoung pulled over, the car coming to a stop on the side of the road. she turned to face you fully, eyes searching yours. "i don't know what to do with them either."
you swallowed hard, unsure of how to respond. part of you wanted to just leave, but you didn't know where you were and you didn't want to call anybody to come pick you up and explain your whole situation. but another part of you, one that you hated to admit, wanted to stay. wanted to understand what nakyoung was feeling because maybe that could help you figure out some things.
"this is messed up," you whispered.
nakyoung reached out, her hand hovering near yours but not quite touching. "maybe. but it doesn't feel wrong, does it?"
you looked at her, "it does. it feels really wrong."
she leaned back in her seat, exhaling a long breath. "maybe it is."
the silence returned as you stared down at your lap, as you thought about xinyu and how much of an impact she's had on your life these past few weeks. this was dangerous territory, and you both knew it.
"take me home," you finally said, your voice barely above a whisper.
nakyoung didn't argue and just started the car again. the drive back to your place was painfully silent, the only sound coming from the engine of the car and the playlist that you and nakyoung had made together. you wanted to question why she was even playing it but that seemed like a little too much for you right now.
you thought by coming here you could get some type of clarity, but instead, it was just a haze. you kept your eyes on the road too scared of accidentally making eye contact with the girl right beside you.
eventually, nakyoung sighed softly, "i didn't mean to make things weird," she said, her voice low, almost hesitant. "i just... wanted to talk a little without anybody else."
you let out a chuckle, shaking your head. "well maybe we shouldn't have done it."
"i know," she admitted. "i guess... part of me just wanted to see if there was still something here. between us."
you knew this was only happening because she found out you were dating xinyu and that means the plan worked, but you don't know if you were too happy about it. a couple of weeks ago this confession would've made you the happiest person on the planet but now you just kept thinking about how xinyu would feel about this.
"nakyoung, you're with sohyun. i'm with xinyu. whatever this is, it's not—" you paused, trying to find the right words. "it's not fair to them."
she stayed quiet for a moment, her eyes fixed on the road. "i know," she finally said, her voice barely above a whisper. "i just can't help wondering if we ended things too soon. if maybe there's still something left."
you had to fight the urge to roll your eyes at what she was saying. she was the one who broke up with you, it's not like it was some mutual breakup on both sides.
"you can't do this, nakyoung," you said, your tone firmer than before. "we can't do this."
she glanced at you, her eyes full of that vulnerability. "i know," she repeated, softer this time, like she was trying to convince herself more than you. "but that doesn't make it any easier."
you stayed silent after that, your thoughts a mix of confusion and guilt. it wasn't supposed to be this way. you were over her, weren't you? yet here you were, back in nakyoung's car, feeling things you shouldn't be feeling.
when she finally pulled up in front of your place, she stopped the car but didn't unlock the doors right away. you two both started at each other waiting for the other to say something, anything. finally, she sighed and unlocked the door. "goodnight, y/n."
you hesitated for a second before opening the door. "goodnight, nakyoung."
without another word, you stepped out, closing the door behind you. as you walked toward your place, you thought about everything that had just happened and everything that could've happened if you hadn't stopped it.
42 . choosing
prev . main
you step out of the bathroom, drying your hands, and you notice xinyu sitting on your bed, legs crossed, looking like she is about to have a serious conversation.
"uh... is this an intervention? because i swear i haven't done anything," you said, eyeing her suspiciously as you made your way over.
"nah, i just want to talk," xinyu replied.
"yeah, that did nothing to make me less nervous," you muttered, staying at the edge of the bed but not sitting down.
"relax. i promise i'm not gonna do anything weird," she said, patting the spot next to her.
you hesitated for a second but sat down, keeping one foot on the floor, just in case. you faced her, your hands fidgeting in your lap, fingers interlocked.
"so... i wanted to talk about our, uh, fake dating thing," xinyu began.
"what about it? i thought we were doing pretty well."
"yeah, for sure. i think we've definitely done what we set out to do, make sohyun and nakyoung jealous."
"okay, so... are we gonna step it up more?" you asked, half-joking.
"actually... no. more like... step it down." xinyu's voice softened.
your head tilted slightly, confused. "what do you mean?"
xinyu took a deep breath. "look, i'm really thankful for us reconnecting. i've been wanting to make things right for a long time, and these past few weeks they've been some of the best for me. hanging out with you, going on all these 'dates,' and just being close again."
you nodded, not wanting to interrupt her.
"i guess what i'm trying to say is... i don't want this fake relationship anymore." she hesitated, searching your face for a reaction.
before you could respond, your phone buzzed. you glanced at the screen, seeing nakyoung's name flash across it. you shot xinyu an apologetic look before holding it up so she could see.
she made a face. "are you gonna answer that?"
you hesitated for a second, then pressed decline and put your phone down to put all your attention on xinyu. "no. you were saying?"
xinyu's expression softened a little, clearly pleased by your decision. she opened her mouth to speak again, but your phone vibrated with another message before she could get a word out.
xinyu gestured for you to check it. "just get it over with," she muttered.
you sighed and checked your phone, eyes widening at the message.
your jaw dropped as you stared at the text, trying to process what was just sent to you.
xinyu, sensing something was off, asked, "what is it?"
wordlessly, you handed her the phone, and she read the message, her face falling.
"what are you gonna do?" xinyu looked down at her hands, all of her confidence was suddenly gone after that. just the thought that you would kick her out so nakyoung would come over scared the shit out of her.
you were truly unsure of what to do. "i... i don't know." it's not like you could just kick xinyu out so nakyoung could come over. that would just be fucked up.
then xinyu's phone buzzed. she glanced at the screen and then turned it towards you.
you let out a disbelieving laugh. "well, at least she wasn't lying."
xinyu clicked her tongue and set her phone aside. "yeah, great."
the two of you sat in silence for a moment, both lost in thought. you weren't sure how to handle this, and the idea that xinyu might want to go meet up with sohyun twisted your stomach.
"so... what do we do now?" you asked, breaking the silence.
"i honestly don't know," xinyu admitted.
"do you... want to go home?" you asked carefully, not sure what answer you were hoping for.
xinyu looked at you, her voice steady. "do you want me to?"
you quickly shook your head. "no."
"then i'm staying," she said, a small smile tugging at her lips.
"good," you replied, feeling a wave of relief wash over you.
"so that means nakyoung's not coming over, right?" xinyu asked.
"of course not," you scoffed. "i wouldn't do that to you."
"i know you wouldn't," xinyu said softly.
you both chuckled at the situation, the tension finally starting to ease. "it's kinda wild they even think we'd want them over after everything."
"like why would i welcome you with open arms after the shit they pulled?" you said.
xinyu nodded, her expression a mix of frustration and amusement. "right? the audacity is actually insane."
you leaned back a bit, letting out a sigh. "maybe that's the reason the got together; they're thinking just different."
xinyu's gaze softened as she looked at you. "honestly, i'm glad you didn't let nakyoung come over. i really thought you were going to kick me out for a second"
you looked at her, surprised. "why would i do that? i'm not gonna drop everything just because nakyoung suddenly decided to show up. i've moved on from that."
xinyu hesitated for a moment, her voice quiet when she spoke again. "have you really? from her, i mean?"
you took a second before answering. "yeah. i think i have. especially with you being around."
"i'm glad you've let me be around," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
you didn't say anything in response, just offering her a gentle smile.
xinyu stretched out, letting herself relax as she flopped back onto the bed. "today has been a lot."
you chuckled and nodded, following her lead as you lay down beside her. "yeah, it really has."
for a moment, you both just stared at the ceiling, the silence between you no longer awkward but peaceful.
xinyu shifted slightly, turning on her side to face you. "you tired?"
"a little," you admitted, turning your head to meet her gaze. "kinda feels like a nap would be perfect right now."
without saying anything, xinyu pulled the blanket up over the both of you, the warmth instantly making you feel sleepy. you rolled onto your side as well, facing her.
"you comfortable?" xinyu asked softly.
"yeah," you murmured, already feeling tired.
"good," she whispered.
you closed your eyes, the warmth of the blankets and xinyu's presence next to you helped you feel peaceful. the two of you drifted off into a quiet nap, side by side, everything feeling a little less complicated for the moment.
