The new Photon cards are hella interesting to me so I'm gonna be talking about them for a little bit!

Here's the photon cards if you haven't seen them ^

So, I rambled. Here's the word count: 515 words.

The first few aspects of these cards that people notice is that they're similar to the Imprisoned Marionette cards from Project Sekai. I honestly can't blame this comparison at all because of Sato Hinata (also look at the cards from that prosekai event and compare) but I think there's a reason for this. The name for this gacha is 'REVERSE Gacha', so it's supposed to be the opposite to Photon Maiden's image. Then what is Photon's 'image' right now?

Photon Maiden's image at this point in time is a unit with a cyber or modern theme that wants to explore different colors for themselves to grow. Now, what is that in reverse? Photon Maiden's reverse image is a unit with an analog or vintage theme that wants to stay the same because of their managers/producers or even themselves. This is supported by the fact that Photon, in the cards, are doing poses as they're tied up in a bunch of puppet strings. They are forced to make these poses, it isn't done out of love or out of passion; they're like dolls.

One thing I haven't seen people notice is that the poses they make in the cards are similar to their initial 3*s. Here are the cards side by side:

If you compare each of them, Saki and Ibuki's poses in their cards are similar to their initial 3*s while Towa and Noa's poses are like a flipped (reversed) version of their poses.

Putting these cards side by side show that the newer cards are supposed to be the opposite to what Photon's image is. Look at the newer cards, the light (passion) in their eyes is gone. They aren't smiling, they look as though they're going through the motions. The colors in the card are super desaturated, even for D4DJ. Usually there's at least some sort of saturation, giving the lively feel of the usual event cards. But there isn't. There's no 'life' at all. Then look at their initial cards. Yes, it's old -- ignore the glowup in the art style -- but look at them. They're smiling, they're happy and there's so much light around them. That's the reason why they're called 'Photon' Maiden in the first place. Ibuki isn't smiling in her card but she has this determined look in her eyes that isn't present in the newer card.

These cards are what Photon would be if they continued following what Shano laid out for them. They never explored, they stayed stagnant, like a photo in a frame. They're forever stuck in that moment, never to change. Hell, even the fact that the cards' main color isn't even Photon's unit color supports this. It's purple. That's Shano's character color and also her unit's, Lynx Eyes, color. Yes, the dominant color in the initial cards the background is green and green isn't their unit color. However, the inverted color for green is purple; another way to say that is that purple is the reverse to green.

MAN. I feel like you'd have to beg Caitlyn for even the simplest makeovers. She looks so plain rn (in the style way) or am I just blind 😭

You suppose it makes sense. She looks so perfect and you keep giving compliments. Like, why is she so pretty?? There's just so many possibilities you can do with her appearance!!

But, sadly, she doesn't let you give her makeovers much. Not that she doesn't like your work, she respects it and adores it, but arts isn't exactly her thing.

I think make-up of any kind would probably feel uncomfortable for her. Plus it would be a hassle to remove it, she would say.

What you can do is give her hair a trim. A perfect line, as much as possible. She comes to you when her hair feels longer, or more damaged, than usual. Granted, it can be boring, but you're just glad you're doing something for her.

Another thing is that you can choose outfits for her. You can doll her up anytime as long as you don't take too long picking combinations!

If she has time, she'll probably let you paint her nails. Make sure she doesn't regret it, or else she might never let you again.

She'd buy anything you want, by the way. Money isn't a problem for her. So you technically have unlimited supplies, thank goodness, 'cause sometimes they can be so expensive.

You jokingly tell her that even if you break up, if she ever changes her mind about getting something, she'll come to you. Absolute dibs on Caitlyn!!

I feel like Maddie has never really delved into bodily artworks, since she spent most of her time studying about laws and stuff.

Like,, do we agree on the motion that she cut her hair so she doesn't have to deal with it 😭 Less weight during missions too

So when her amazing girlfriend happens to be passionate about creatives? Oh, boy, she's going to be filled with curiosity.

She'll allow you to do anything you want to her, as long as it isn't permanent. In fact, she's super enthusiastic about it, always trusting the process and seeing the result.

You're so creative that it's impressive!! Even if it isn't your best work, she always finds a way to praise you 😭

She'd love to watch you work as well, but she's not exactly the quiet type 🥲

One of your quality time is definitely you trying to teach her new things. Let her paint your nails, do your hair, and anything that can make you both happy.

If you make clips or whatnot, you definitely try to overload her fluffy hair with decoration. You try different hairstyles possible with that length of hers.

Sometimes, you catch her playing around with your make-up alone. It almost always ends with you fixing it up for her 😭

I eat up fics so much when they touch on the issues! Like given how much the doctor has been possessed/taken over I feel should def give them PTSD or a traumatic response to telepathy. Eg: 13 scared to contact the master after their only interactions with telepathy in the past years being hostile or life threatening.

Let them beat daleks to shit with their bare hands for everything they've done, including the war and such. (In my mind the doctor did destroy Gallifrey I'm sorry I hate the retcon they did in the special that they saved it because it devalues somuch of them imo)

Also I was thinking more about Mr clever (I'm saying that and not cyberplanner bc it's silly) and like how that'd affect the doctor and the story. And just the process of the doctor losing more of themselves, maybe small behaviors and quirks up to wardrobe changes and such. And I think what could be interesting ish is like Mr Clever is hiding how much he's taken over from River or something but what gives it away is how well he pilots. Because obviously the cyberplanner would pour over memories and books and learn the most optimal ways to pilot a time machine. And then you get that sweet sweet realization from River of that's not who I think it is. That is not the man I know. (I love those reveals)

i think it's incredibly funny that moffat unblew up gallifrey and then chibnall just went and blew it up again. the tradition of writers fighting over whether or not gallifrey is blown up continues and i am eating it up. the doctor definitely blew up gallifrey though even if they went back and changed it. time is an illusion everything is canon even the tv show

also TASTY TASTY angst yes!! he's a robot/ai designed to optimize everything possible, of course he's going to try and optimize piloting. the doctor just kind of wings it, and it works, but the cyberplanner wants fast and reliable results.

i also think its really funny that the cyberplanner mantains the cyberman belief that emotions are weak and bad and need to be removed, and completely and utterly fails to recognize the fact that he has gained very strong emotions and very little ability to process and manage them. like, he's super excited to have a time lord body, he gets angry and starts yelling when things don't make sense, he takes great joy in fucking with people, he's absorbed a lot of 11's physical mannerisms and expressions of emotions. dumbass mr clever has completely not realized that, and i think would continue not to.

so river would find the "doctor" is actually putting effort into piloting the tardis efficently, without the typical loving affection, isn't exactly hiding his emotions that well (11 is. very good at this actually), and is in general expressing what his feelings should be about people just wrong for the doctor. because he can see what those emotions and feelings are, but doesn't understand the complexities of it. 11 struggles to be intimate. he isn't good at using his words for his feelings for people. the cyberplanner assumes the correct tactic is to spell out what feelings he's supposed to be expressing, which is a notable tip off for river.

there are just all these things slightly wrong with the doctor that she's slowly realizing.

There are some analysis u might want to read, mainly how japanese culture works. Cuz like, i only really forgave Bakugo after learning tht it's encouraged to bully the person who doesn't fit in. Ok so to me bakugo bullied deku bcause he saw deku was a better hero then him n lashed out in insecurity; was enabled by his peers and didn't think it was bad. Teenagers shud hv a good grasp on whts right and wrong, but also consider what they are taught.

I mindlessly used to ship bkdk before bcz i read them talking after dvk2. I was like 14 i think 🤔. I hv been there, been the cringe shipper u guys all hate so i understand why u dont like shippers.

Mostly just dropping by to admit i, a dumbass bkdk shipper, went diving in the anti tags, n came out alive. Why is it tht the antis n shippers only see the worst of each other? I only engage with the tumblr bkdk fandom n they're pretty chill n stay true to the material, hardly see weird headcanons. But i do see some. Mitsuki being abusive? What? Anything to make Bakugo sympathetic, amirite? To me, Bkgs story is tht he is a natural asshole but is learning to be a hero. I'll wait till the end of the story to full judge how hori deals his story. I hv a life outside of it n can wait.

Bkdk fandom is the same as any other fandom, has its good and bad sides. I dont wanna interact with the bad side so im turning on anon and venting in anti bkdk lmao.

i hv some complaints abt the execution, SPOILERS (hawks came in too suddenly for me. Like, ik as soon as his quirk was stolen tht he wud play a major role. But it still icks me how it was done. Bakugo has been thinking abt Izuku for unrealistic amounts of time. Yada yada.)

You are right in saying that there are good and bad parts of the Katsuki and BkDk fandom. It’s why I always make sure to refer to the bad side as Stans and the good side as fans. I’ve got no issues with fans who simply like the character. At the end of the day, it’s whatever. I personally just hate Katsuki and I have issues with the Stans who swarm people who have different opinions. Sadly, like you said, this is something that happens in all fandoms. A BkDk shipper who frequents this blog mentioned how IzuOcha shippers started sending them death threats for not liking the ship which is horrible.

I will say that I definitely agree with you in a sense that Katsuki’s character is utterly attached to Izuku. He really can’t function on his own without him.

okay so firstly - waiting rooms are the same as drs. i think there's confusion because of the term "room" but its still just like a dr. it doesn't have to be in a singular room. many people use "waiting rooms" as therapy drs or a place to just relax but that doesn't mean they're confined to a room. so it doesn't really matter if you call it a wr or a dr because they're the same, we just use different words to describe whats going on in that particular reality.

i am not religious although i grew up in a christian household but all i'll say is i think its up to your interpretation and how you practice your religion. i don't think others should dictate the things you do in your dr but i know religion is important to a lot of people so that makes it different. do what's best for you!

now onto time ratios! its exactly how you described it. it'll feel like a month because you'll be there for a month. the same thing applies to waiting rooms, as we've established they're the exact same as a dr but with a different name. my ratio i always use is 1 hour cr = 2 weeks dr but everyone has their own ratio that they like! you're also not confined to just that month, if in a shift you want to stay for longer, you absolutely can as well.

if there's anything in this that is still confusing let me know and i can go into it more! sometimes i feel like i ramble a lot on this and don't fully get my point across because i like to talk in circles

I just read the surprise/early update and the sound I made followed by "Torielllll....! :(" after I finished... the anguish I felt is indescribable. This poor, poor woman, if only she knew why this feeling of not knowing what is "real" was because of the resets... You captured the feelings of terror, discombobulation, and bewilderment perfectly. anyway when she finds out, she's going to go "ok? insane but you have scientific evidence let me adjust to this wild new information" to "wait wait were those unstable years when the kids fell REAL? my kids actually DID kill me? HELLO?" and that's going to be. interesting to explore!

i feel like it could even be an EARLY reveal! I feel like Hol specifically is going to want to apologize for what they did. And now that I have opportunity to explore how Asriel is going to explain the age-up is more than just "oh yeah i was a flower for a while" cause. Toriel KNOWS the amalgamate experiments are (vaguely) recent. She fired Dr.Alphys over it. She knows the details now. So Asriel's explanation of being a flower for years in secret makes no damn sense if they've grown to 16 years old when they died at 12.

So yeah, that's going to be something that'll be pushed to a boiling point in the next chapter(s). HOW exactly is she going to handle all this??? like obviously, she's not going to treat this the same if this were adults committing these horrible acts. they're children. Toriel will continue to love them and forgive them because it truly is not the same situation as it would be with, say, Asgore making the calcuatled decision to murder innocent people. like Hol thinking they're some adventurer badass and killing a monster is very much different from that. (and yeah Asgore is more complicated as it relates to war and the barrier and all that bla bla)

Anyway rambling aside i really really look forward to exploring this. cause like, frankly, toriel canonically has all that angsty bs that people put on sans (when he doesn't even remember reloads or gets killed except last minute in no mercy runs 🙄) like toriel had 6 human kids who canonically reloaded around her. give me THAT angst and exploration of that's consequences. I like getting the chance to explore more of Toriel's psychology, baggage and her journey to moving past that. i'm really sad we don't get to see how toriel improved as a mother and person in AFR but rather just that she did. now we get to!!! fuck yeah!

but yeah god what a horrifying, truly awful thing to experience. like on one hand, she must be relieved "oh so there's nothing actually wrong with my reality i don't have a life altering memory related mental illness (yet)" but also "oh so that was all real and i can never truly look at these kids without knowing they've done something truly, truly unforgivable to me. (but i will forgive them)"

AND NOW i'm thinking that toriel had to been told by flowey at some point what they've done to her too. in one of those reloads, flowey likely confessed to get a reaction from her. after the shock of it, she'd pretend it didn't bother her to forgive them. and that'd build up resentment because Flowey doesn't want to be forgiven, they want punishment and consequences and for it to have mattered.

I wanna hear your musing about how monolingual people write multilingual! I think it’d be really interesting. I’m monolingual myself but I’m trying to be fluent in another one.

so. let me preface this by saying that i will be speaking mostly from my experience and about bi-/multilingual people who speak languages from different language groups (so if someone for example speaks two or more slavic languages since childhood my musings probably won't be applicable)

there are different types of multilingual people (wow really? that's a shocker).

some learn multiple languages as children in the way a native speaker would, and they speak the languages without a foreign accent. if they stop using one of the languages they will forget some vocabulary but won't suddenly develop an accent and lose the "feel" of the language (like the thing where you hear something and you know it sounds wrong grammatically).

some (and this is the majority) learn the second language as a second language, so they need to learn all the rules and grammar explicitly. they will have a foreign accent if they don't work on their pronunciation really hard and they probably will still have an accent that doesn't sound natural. (i will be talking about this kind of bilinguals mostly)

now we come to switching between languages. some are easier to switch between and some are harder, it all comes down to how and where you make the sounds in your mouth. i don't have a good way of explaining it, but from what i understand it's kind of similar to vocal placement when you learn to sing?

like when i speak german, the sound seems like it's in the front of my mouth, and in russian it's more in the middle/back and closer to the throat. as i said, i can't really explain it. (p.s. it also affects the voice so in german my voice seems higher than in russian idk)

this leads me to switching languages. it's not exactly hard to switch between them, but im often too lazy and won't if i don't need to, so it is really funny for me to see characters say one (1) word in their native language and then switch to english. like my man. my guy. why

on the subject of the one word in your native language, pet names. yes, it is almost a tradition in fics (and maybe published works but i don't read that, so idk), but it doesn't make me ask any less questions.

like. if i wanted to call my s/o something cute, i would call them that in a language they understand. if they asked me to call them russian pet names i would cringe really hard ask why (because in fiction (and my s/o is incredibly fictional), the use of foreign words often comes from fetishization/omg look how exotic).

okay im tired of rambling sorry that was so long. now something that may be useful for writers if they want to write more realistic bilinguals!

when the usage of a native language is realistic (in my opinion!):

— just talking to yourself

— cursing. english has no interesting cursing options

— forgetting a word in english and saying it in your native language followed by an unintelligible ramble about how you could ever forget such a dumb word

(and more because i can't think rn. just not "only pet names in native language". please. for the love of god)

other stuff:

— using the grammar of your native language when speaking a foreign one

— translating proverbs from your native language literally and then going ah. that may not be an english thing

— forgetting a word in every language that you know. ten times as frustrating as forgetting it in one language

etc.

Hey! Im rereading rule one and i felt awkward saying this in a comment but i just wanted to mention how much i really like your characterisation of the cullens and how youve chosen to write them. In general your writing is very well done and intriguing but the way youve chosen to go about some things is very fun. Its been about a year, maybe a year and a half since i last read rule one especially the earlier chapters and im at the point where nessie steals sadie's dog and im just like... Woah. Holy shit. Youve really nailed down the horror of nessie? Like u know its good if its making me go oh holy shit bc im pretty immune to a lot of horror centric things like this. Idk i guess i forgot just how horrifying you made nessies pov of things so it really punched me in the face in a good way. I really admire how youve gone about this fic in general tbh bc you have this sense of creeping horror that actually hits bc its not ignoring the bad elements of canon and the canons bad implications and ur actually confronting them head on in a realistic way while also not going overboard and bashing on canon? Idk its a really precarious balancing act youve got going on but its real inspiring to see how well u do it. What was your thought process for nessies characterisation like? Like how did u arrive at the point we see in the fic. Sorry if this is all over the place its 6 am and im just in awe and really enjoying re reading rule one and i thought itd be cool to let u know how much im enjoying ur writing choices! I guess I just felt fascinated by the potential consequences of Renesmee growing physically at such an accelerated rate. In Breaking Dawn (and the Twilight Illustrated Guide), it's indicated that she has a complete understanding of what is said and done around her, but she still acts like a child. She's still a child. And I find it interesting to imagine what a person would be like if they feel like- and indeed, are -a child but have capabilities that exceed their age and size and don't have worldly experience to match their mental awareness.

I've read fics like "Wedding Crashers" where Renesmee is written as Veruca Salt-level spoiled, and she is positioned to have shades of that, being raised in a family that has bottomless money and seeing evidence in her first year of life that she is so important to everyone she knows that they will put their lives on the line for her. If she fully understood everything that was happening around her during Breaking Dawn, what must all of it have looked like through her eyes?

The book mentions that she only ever sleeps in someone's arms, never in a crib, because she lives in a house of sleepless vampires. Has she ever been denied anything? If so, what? And how did it feel? Pretty much everyone adores Renesmee, or is fascinated by her. One of the first people she laid eyes on imprinted on her on sight. She was brought to the most feared vampire in the world and touched his face, and then the bad guys went away and everyone was happy. She remembers all of it. She understood what was happening. How would that affect a kid?!

And, like the fic kind of explores, a lot of the things she's learned about her family and their lives before she was born would send some pretty concerning lessons about morality that I think someone would have to confront down the line- whether it be her family, or someone Renesmee meets who objects to being treated the way she's learned to treat people, or just Renesmee herself if she happens to learn better without being given reason to.

I just really enjoy exploring the duality of Renesmee as someone who was practically designed in a lab to be hugely entitled and selfish but also just a child who wants everyone to have a good time. She doesn't quite believe her actions have consequences, because everyone in her life is ready to fix anything she does and no one will hold anything against her because she's three and she doesn't know any better, and she's consciously aware of all of it, but also she is three and she doesn't know any better. Imagine an actual three year old, with all the tendency toward misbehavior that entails, but make them 1. capable of going anywhere they want, 2. superpowered, and 3. very aware that they won't get into any real trouble for whatever they do. Her heart's in the right place, but she's a kid, and a kid whose few life experiences to draw on, to guide her judgement, are all bizarre.

To answer your question about balancing a realistic tone without bashing canon, I guess my approach has been to kind of just go "Yes, and" to most things that are established in the books. (The exceptions, as mentioned in some of the chapter notes, being the child grooming and the idea that venom removes melanin; those two things I just got rid of.) I try not to go, "That's stupid, and here's why." For any given thing that the books hold to be true, I try to have a response of, "Okay, but let's look at the consequences." I won't take away anyone's happy ending, no matter how dubiously-obtained I find it, but their actions to get there still matter. I'm glad to hear you found it effective!

I always love getting comments about Renesmee's characterization! I love it, because the fic isn't even about her, so I love to know that a relatively small aspect of it stood out to you.

Hi! Sorry if this is sudden or unwelcomed but i was wondering how would one go about ''fixing'' Sanji's character and your personal interpretation?

Now what i mean is that Sanji is an already great and complex character who has a lot of good moments and stuff, but the rampant misogyny really, really holds him back.

It just feels demeaning to an inmense degree, like that the only reason Kalifa - a member of the cp9 - won was because Sanji was holding back. Which feels like bullshit as she's a literal assassin and you could easily have rewritten it to make it so he lost due to her devil fruit instead. (or more emphasised).

I dont have a problem with an intrinsic vow but i just wish it wasn't this. I guess i just find it fustrating on how something so misogynistic is treated as a virtue. He could have had another vow instead like 'never kill' or 'don't fight someone when its clearly going to be a onesided beat down from you' or something to that effect. I haven't really seen any alternatives to sanji's behaviour - hell i seen someone argue it was necessary so he wouldn't be overpowered. And its kinda fustrating as a Sanji fan as it feels like in these moments his other qualities are kinda getting sidetracked in favour of his perviness. I dont mind he's pervy, but the way its utilised just feels kinda like a coppout more than anything and, well, misogynistic. (which im not saying remove all his misogyny, but tone it down and not make it seem virtuous if that makes sense?)

so let me ask you a question anon, where do you think sanji first says something misogynistic? this isnt me trying to gotcha you or anything, i legitimately am curious.

i think how you "fix" sanji purely depends on how sexist you individually think he is. i think it ultimately comes down to, do you think when he treats women positively he's being sexist negatively? how much of that is a flaw to you, where do you draw the line? is your comfort level purely at where you can only stand sanji being negative towards men and treating women neutrally, or do you think you're comfortable with the opposite?

when i was a kid, i learned that characters are just a set of rules you make for yourself that when you add them to a situation and the application of those rules becomes a character. the character is both the solution and the equation, and i think the problem with sanji inherently lies not with his character at all, but how the narrative treats him for those actions, like you said.

i think it comes down to the fact while op does acknowledge and commentate on sexism a little, it doesnt have a strong enough commentary to support the characters like zoro, tashigi and sanji. who are amazing, wonderful characters, but are ultimately boggled down by the fact that oda doesn't do anything productive with them.

for example: both sanji and zoro (in their male feminist debate) are correct contextually, but op should be better at illustrating how zoro's "if theyre women they should be treated the same always" ideology can be wrong sometimes too, which would even out the commentary on them a lot more.

zoro and sanji should also progress as characters to ultimately seeing the contextual side of each others arguments and develop to the point where they know when its appropriate to apply each-others points

tashigi should've been sanjis rival, and helped the narrative illustrate how sanji's habit of treating women favourably can lean into sexism, which i feel like is the point of tashigi even being there but odas got the ingredients but is really bad at making a stew out of them.

i think ultimately the problem is that the narrative doesnt compensate for sanji, not that sanji doesnt compensate for the narrative. i think there's a conversation you can have internally with yourself on whether you want to write sanji as completely devoid of bigotry or whether you want to pick and choose and that's valid as well and i think would inherently apply to sanji even if op's commentary on sexism was well written, but. you're asking me how i'd "fix canon", and i think the fact that sanji doesn't get compensated for is indicative of a wider problem present in both tashigi and zoro's storylines as well (and the narrative also not compensating for them)

and why does this look aesthetic?

today we're falling apart again. me and edgar i mean. will it still matter when i'm thirty? i'm not sure. but as of now, some of my intense girlish feelings at the age of 23 is fading away. watered down. we're calling a rest. a kind of cool off. i guess. the funny thing is that i was all tensed up the entire time we were talking, but when we finally decided to take a break, i felt myself physically relieved. yes it was a bit sad but i shrugged it off and it was easy. im being honest. yes it still is making me anxious. what if he genuinely hates me now? that's my concern. i did not like it that waym him hating me. i know his love the same way i know his hatred. and both are weighty things. i wish i only know his love. it was nice. his love was nice most times and i think ill miss it. but we're really not working out. i think it's probably because of me not wanting to have sex? but that's wrong. i don't deserve such vile treatment. if he loves me he'll respect that. so losing him because of this isn't really a loss. and i don't even see him becoming my husband. Crowley is pretty embarrassed initially that he just brain farted on how important Yuu is and assumed she was a student who wandered off and does offer to take her back home so she doesn't get mad at him butis delighted when she decides she wants to study in NRC for a bit to see what its like and brags about it to RSA's headmaster, Ambrose the 63rd.

Yuu is in general a pretty easygoing woman and rarely gets mad because she's lived through so much that she just kinda lost the energy to get mad though she seems to regain some energy to get upset with him during Octavinelle's chapter (because he didnt even intervene with Azul just making his students his slaves) and she wouldn't beat the shit out of him but rather scare him so much when she was lecturing him that it looked like Crowley was the student and Yuu was the headmaster rather than vice versa. Sebek wishes he could've recorded it as she really did command respect with the lecture and Lilia found it amusing. Ace and Deuce agreed to never try and make Yuu pissed.

For the fluff part with Lilia, Yuu is similarly uneducated on the modern world and technology which is something Lilia finds very amusing as Yuu can remember obscure machinery and tools that are either extinct (AKA the materials to make them are gone or the method to make them was lost to time) or just so impractical no one uses them anymore. He enjoys teasing her on this and she'll frequently try to find something to tease him back on though teasing seems to be more Lilia's skill.

She saw the nail polish on Malleus and Lilia's nails and decided she wanted to try it out so Lilia and Yuu went out to get her nails done and she picked black nails similar to them because she wanted to match and the next time she went to get her nails done she chose a different color and Lilia chose to match this time.

During dinner, Yuu is the person designated to keep Lilia out of the kitchen which she achieves by getting him enthralled in some conversation with her about the past or a discussion about something modern she's learning about. if i may ask (i tried to look if this was already answered but tumblr is a broken website, so im sorry if im asking something that has been answered), does the way that Sol deal with jealousy change once they're in a realtionship with MC?? bc i believe all the asks you linked are pre-relationship, no?? or, at the very least, that is the implication i picked up.. bc, i will fully admit, the idea of deep romance!Sol being jealous and possessive and like.. not repressing those emotions, is something i am very intrigued to learn more about lmao (esp if its healthy and moderated jealousy/possessiveness, which like.. considering how Sol has dealt with unwanted emotions in the past, is not something i assume will happen lmao-- i am fully predicting that someday, maybe even not with jealousy, think funky lil repressed bean will just have their feelings fully blow the fuck up lmao rip)

The short answer: Sol getting 'jealous' / 'possessive' (in their way, not entirely in what is typical / traditional) does not happen once at the point of being in an actual relationship

The much longer answer (+a clarification first):

By 'possessive', I mean a very childish version of it. It's something that Sol recognizes is a ridiculous way to feel in the first place, and outside the meta character talks here on the blog, it's unlikely MC would ever know about Sol's little 'flare-ups' of it

It was something that was a lot stronger / happened more often when they were both much younger (especially when new people entered MC's life), and was a bit like, they're my friend, why are you talking to them / what do you want from them ?? 😒 It was (and still is) a knee-jerk reaction manifesting from Sol's fear of getting abandoned / left behind, and is something that's lessened considerably as they've both gotten older (and even more after the events of eight years ago). Now all Sol wants is for MC to have some semblance of normalcy again, even if that's not 'with' them / 'because' of them

What Sol really struggles with is—in their eyes—being a 'burden'. They don't want to bother anyone (especially MC) with something they perceive as 'trivial' as their emotions when others are already dealing with their own things

You might see it in the update depending on choices (though with a different emotion than jealousy), but when Sol gets to the point where they can't fully ignore something / push it away, they will leave the situation causing those feelings entirely before they even have that chance to 'blow up', as these kinds of strong emotions that they can't fully control give them a deep, deep anxiety

((In Sol's case, they're also not the type to 'blow up' at all; it'd be more 'spilling over into anxious and nonsensical rambling' or 'getting very sharp and snippy with their words as a defense mechanism' (though a much rarer reaction and not as mean or pointed as someone like Cían would be; it'd be something like a very sharp, very flat, "I don't wanna talk about this anymore.")))

Jealousy itself has a lot of strong connotations, and with Sol, it's something that's way more abstract of an emotion in them. They recognize it, understand that they feel it, but don't have a name for it as it's not something they really let themself acknowledge in the first place, and thus is not something that fully forms. To them, it's a vague sense of, seeing you with this person / hearing you talk about them stings and makes me deeply uncomfortable, and I don't know how to handle that so I'm just going to pretend this weird feeling doesn't exist.

As for why that jealousy disappears once in a relationship: they're both with the person they want to be with, have both chosen the other person, so there's nothing for them to be jealous over / feel weird about. Sol trusts MC, completely and unconditionally, and that will never change !

As a smaller, related note: Sol would never agree to being in a relationship if at any point they thought MC was either settling for them or would fall out of love with them/leave them. This contributes to that implicit trust and nonexistent jealousy

ok hold on. acomaf is my fave book out of the whole series (it's mostly out of emotional value, i read it when i was younger and didn't have a real understanding out trauma and abuse only that i saw a character i loved getting out of a bad situation and getting happy) so obviously i didn't mind feysand being endgame and the development all of the characters had. i can accept tamlin turned out like that is realistic due to his trauma, i can accept feyre had to flee because it wasn't right for her, but the thing is after acofs i see no point to feyre leaving tamlin when rhysand ends up doing everything they told us tamlin was evil and unredeemable for. hiding the risks of her pregnancy, putting on shields on her, having feyre need to compromise over it. i honestly felt so betrayed by that. i'm not saying feyre and tamlin were good for each other, but it doesn't feel worth it to dismiss the potential they had for what we got with feysand.

also, sarah learn to treat "ugly" trauma with respect challenge. no they don't need to learn to physically fight to fight it. no they don't need a love interest to overcome it. yes the behaviors acquired from trauma and abuse aren't pretty but that doesn't mean a person is undeserving of kindness and compassion.

I don't think it's a secret that Rhysand is one of my least favorite characters in media, probably ever? (How do I even put this into words) He is a bad character and to me, laughably so. You know how if you've ever written a character, there's that little phase that's like "what if people don't like this character' and then you're sad for a little bit? That's how Rhysand feels to me. He feels like SJM looked at this character and thought "I can't stand the thought of people not liking this character because I love him so much" and then did everything in her power to make sure we know how great he is.

Idk if this is just me screaming into the void, but I get to this place with my characters where like, especially if they are a little more morally gray or their decisions have negative impacts, I understand that I don't need the audience to like my main character. they can stand on their own, they can own up to what they do and they can grow from it. Thats what a good character does. That's how you keep your audience rooting for them. You gotta knock them over sometimes.

SJm doesn't knock Rhysand over. She doesn't push him to make mistakes, apologize, own up and move on. Rhysand has never made a decision that ended poorly for him. Everything goes the way he wants it to, because SJm wants us to know how cool and great he is. People who are cool and great don't make bad decisions! SJm doesn't let Rhysand fail, and she doesn't let him suffer his own decisions. Everyone else suffers his decisions, not him.

Rhysand's reputation as a good person hinges entirely on the audience liking him and/or thinking he's hot. And then what happens when the audience thinks neither of those things? Ya get a rly long post like this by a lil enby who is mad all the time. Rhysand loses all credibility when you look at him through a critical lens. Not a single thing the man does makes any goddamn sense. Here I thought acosf would give us a different perspective on Feysand and I was desperately hoping that Nesta would tell us what she really sees in them and how people around them really feel, I hoped that SjM would throw us for a loop and tell us that hey, she does know that Feysand are fucking toxic as hell and ruin the lives of people around them and she wants to show us that from an outside perspective but noooOoOOOoOoOOOO...

Instead we get Nesta hating herself because Rhysand told her that she shouldn't tell Feyre that Feyre could uh die in childbirth. Hey what the fuck.

Now I don't actually ship feylin, I kinda always sorta knew, even without spoilers, that it wasn't going to work out. Tamlin isn't sjm's idea of a good partner because he's not charming and witty and dark and handsome ya know? We met Rhysand and I knew that I was going to fucking hate this romance. Which sucks because I found Rhysand so intriguing in the first book. Ngl all the time spent in the spring court was kinda boring and every time Rhysand showed up to throw dead faeries at Tamlin I was like "oooooo" and I wanted to know more about why Tamlin, this awkward, blunt and kinda shy dude had beef with this super duper sly and shady man from another court.

I don't know if I've ever said this before, but SJm doesn't let her love interests grow. Rhysand doesn't change over the course of the story because he was already a good guy and his motives were for Feyre's sake I swear, the same goes for Rowan in TOG. SJm doesn't give Rhysand room to change. She needs to get to the part where they fuck make sure everyone knows that Rhysand is a good guy and actually he was good all along so that we like him more than Tamlin. It backtracks on everything bad Rhysand has ever done because you know... He had a good reason! It's fine!

I know it's probably just because SJm doesn't actually know how to write a good character growth arc but... Like can you imagine if Rhysand stayed the bad guy? Or at least remained the bad guy through acotar and acomaf? And then when Rhysand comes to take Feyre for his bargain it really was only to spite Tamlin? What about Rhysand, taking Feyre to the night court with him once a week every month for a long time, if only to see Tamlin's eyes grow darker and emptier every time he goes, and then he really starts to fall in love with Feyre. He's been a monster all this time, angry and cold and cruel and then he actually starts to fall in love. And then to get Feyre to stay he really does try to change, he stops antagonizing Feyre, he stops throwing dead faeries at Tamlin, and he stops harassing the Spring court. He starts spending genuine quality time with Feyre, he starts to learn about her and all the things she likes and he stops trying to get her to come with him just so Tamlin will be mad. He starts asking her to come with him because he wants to be around her and he prays that someday she'll want to be around him too. What if SJm let him grow.

But nahhhhhh instead we have a character who always knows the right answer to things, and he always knows how to fix every issue, and he is always so innovative and outside the box except that he isn't. We get a character who does the same shit as Tamlin but it's ok because he had a good reason not to tell Feyre that she could very well die in childbirth. Uhhhh don't know what that is but uhhh I know he has his reasons because all he has are his reasons.

It would be so easy to hold a mirror up to Rhysand and say "look at this. Look who you are. Do you not look just like Tamlin right now?"

But yeah I think the point I'm trying to make is that Sarah thinks so highly of Rhysand that he could never do wrong. He could never be like Tamlin, despite the narrative literally telling us the exact opposite.

Like you said, we lost the potential of what feylin could have been if SJm didn't suddenly decide that her audience needs to love Rhysand as much as she does. I think feylin could have been slow and sweet and a story of true healing and learning about one another. I think it would have been kind and steady and lots of "are you ok"s and "I'm sorry"s and "talk to me"s. Everything about Feysand feels rushed and hard and fast and the rest of the world doesn't have time to catch up. It's fucking exhausting to read it ya know what I'm saying.

(also can we talk about Rhysand like dying and Feyre finding the suriel and learning he's her mate and then instead of being like "k let's put a pin in that and fuckin save his life first" she like throws him around and everyone is like "wtf woman" and she's like I neeD tO Be alOnE these people have no idea how to prioritize)

Truly, I think it's innocent to a degree. There is absolutely no harm in wanting people to like your character. The harm comes when you destroy another character with no reason or explanation other than you want people to like a different character. Villain arc? Completely out of left field. You gotta build to that shit or like... Make it so that when you look back you slap your forehead and yell at a wall "OF FUCKING COURSE I SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT"

I just want to let you know that I don't hate you, I don't feel intimidated by you, I like your writing and how it can make my days better, I appreciate your sense of humour and even when we don't interact you have somehow a special place in my heart. I don't care what other people dare to say just to feel cool and gain attention or whatever they are trying to get out of their constant hate, harsh words really have an effect. Even with what your consider flaws and the possible mistakes you've made, you're human and a good example since you take accountability of your words and actions an address them the best way possible knowing how easily words and everything can be twisted while being online. Im sorry for what happened not only to you but your friends, it really is concerning how things can't be handled right when we're all supposed to be adults. thank you for this. I have never once said I am prefect or tried to come off that way. I am a very, very flawed human being, always have been and always will be. But I learn from my mistakes.

You never reach the end of learning, learning is not linear, you continue to learn through your entire life. I am still learning even at the age of 22. I've been doing my job in the service for going on four years now and I still learn new things every single day. Hell I legit just learned something new like an hour ago from one of my soldiers.

We are all different people coming from different places and that is what is so cool about social media and fandoms. Did I ever think I'd get to know someone from Canada? Or know that I have a close friend like five hours from me? Or plan a trip to get to meet them? No, I never thought that, and I have this community to thank for that.

What was said yesterday was taking completely out of context and I apologize if I hurt anyone. Not trying to use the excuse that yesterday was a very emotional day, cause that is not an excuse. I didn't think clearly when I posted what I said, and for that I am truly sorry. But it still doesn't make it okay to go to someone else's blog and send them hurt, hateful anons. And you are right, you never know someone's battle behind a screen. Those words could've sent someone right over the edge, and that would've devastated a whole community of people.

I don't understand why it's so hard to be respectful. I really don't. Like I've said before, maybe it's the way I grew up, maybe it's the job that I have, but respect is key. You don't have to like someone, I could care less if people don't like me, I know I'm not everyones cup of tea, but you need to respect me and I will respect you. It is very, very easy.
