He showed up in the ruins with all his memories, then over the course of about ninety minutes on Nov 17th lost most of them, before which he acted like just a more detached and apathetic version of wilbur as he was in pogtopia (this version is named lucibur by quackity i think)

-ghostbur first manifesting because quackity n tubbo n fundy were trying to figure out the tune of the lmanberg anthem

-Nov 17th Ghostbur to Tubbo: "I feel like I need to say to you especially that I wasn't intending to blow up Tubbo's L'Manberg, to be honest, I wanted to blow up Tommy's L'Manburg. I-I made him president and then I was going to blow it up- as sort of a testament to his reign. But then he gave it to you, and I think you’ll be a good leader."

-ghostbur for all intensive purposes being a tangible guy who can walk around wherever he wants and talk to people and build things and hit people and play instruments. but he is like. metatextually unable to affect the plot in major ways. everything he does with nlm beyond aesthetic decoration is either advising other people or watching other people. he is powerless to stop exile or techno's execution or doomsday or anything. which i think is a neat way to do a ghost

-ghostbur riding around on horseback shooting people with his. gun? and invisible. he did this a lot and its very fucking funny

-ghostbur being the first person to call tubbo Mr President and also being deeply deeply insistent that tubbo wear wilbur's old presidential suit. i dont know what to make of that but its painful whatever it is

-ghostbur having moments of being very terse or harsh with tubbo or irritated with tommy before literally saying "sorry! im back to being friendly" which (if you choose to read into this like i do and not just take it as acting inconsistency) could imply that being nice is not like. the default state of how ghostbur is as a person? if that makes sense? like he doesnt naturally lean towards being nice to people, but rather its a conscious choice he just follows fucking religiously

-whatever the FUCK is going on with ghostbur and tommy before tommy got very attached to him during exile and continuing onwards. first interaction between them is from a tubbo stream where ghostbur says he's "thinking of throwing tommy out" of lmanberg and it only sounds half like a joke. ghostbur seemingly remembering tommy with crystal clarity. tommy referring to ghostbur as wilbur consistently before switching to ghostbur and then seeming significantly freaked out by him. ghostbur giving tommy invis potions (and tommys later psychological dependence on invis potions in season 4). tommy describing his relationship with ghostbur as "coworkers." ow.

-ghostbur's reason for building so much around new l'manberg is that he thinks it's his unfinished business (not addressing when tubbo speculates that tommy might be his unfinished business) and saying he doesn't understand why he's not dead.

1. DUDE Ghostbur’s first moments on the Dream SMP are so so interesting!! Yeah exactly, he was essentially just… Wilbur as a ghost. Fascinating! It seems like the longer Ghostbur was on the server, the more he leaned into a personality that was seperate from Wilbur’s, and the more he kinda became his Own Guy, rather than the ghost of a guy. Y’know? When he first showed up, his voice wasn’t high-pitched, he had most/all of his memories, and his personality was pretty much indistinguishable from Wilbur’s—and only after he had some time to experience life & think about things did he become Ghostbur, rather than Wilbur’s Ghost. I just think it’s very neat & a super cool part of his lore!

2. Something something Wilbur started the L’manburg National Anthem something something and Ghostbur was the one who finished it… something something. Unfinished symphonies being completed…

3. BROOOOO THAT QUOTE. “I wanted to blow up Tommy’s L’manburg” goshdangggg, man.

4. OH THAT IS A NEAT OBSERVATION!! Yes!!! Gosh every so often I think about the fact that Tommy really was one of the only people who tried to remember Ghostbur after he died; most everyone else either forgot about Ghostbur or acted as if he never existed. With that and also what you said about Ghostbur being unable to affect the plot, I just find it… so incredibly interesting. Ghostbur cannot float or fly or walk through walls like a typical ghost, but in almost every other aspect he is a ghost, in every sense of the word. He can’t grasp the plot or canon events with tangible hands; everything just slips through his fingers, rendering him helpless and powerless. Very interesting!

5. AJGSKSGSKSGSJSGS YEAHYEAHYEAH!!! Ghostbur’s strider <3 I think the strider’s name was Larrie? If I’m remembering correctly? Anyways yes Ghostbur turned into a little menace whenever he rode that thing and I appreciate it so much <3

6. Ough… </3 Thinks about Ghostbur saying “it looks like you’re filling in some big shoes” and thinks about Tubbo replying “I actually have very very small feet.” </333333 I think Ghostbur saw Tubbo in Such an optimistic light because he saw what Wilbur could have been, if things had turned out better. Ghostbur saw a strong man who wanted the best for his country and worked hard to get it there, and I think it reminded Ghostbur a lot of Wilbur during the early L’manburg days, when he was fiery and ambitious and headstrong and passionate and overflowing with love for a nation he’d built with his own two hands. And I think that put quite a bit of pressure on Tubbo, and also perhaps some dread, because unlike Ghostbur, Tubbo knows how Wilbur’s story ended—he remembers it. He remembers how dark and corrupted Wilbur got, and Ghostbur doesn’t have those memories and/or knowledge.

7. GHOSTBUR AND FUNDY YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS. TO ME.

8. THE RELATIONSHIP THAT GHOSTBUR HAS WITH WILBUR (AND VICE VERSA) IS INSANE TO ME!!! YES YOU’RE SO RIGHT THERE ARE SO MANY LAYERS!!! GOSH!!! Ghostbur really tried to distance himself Completely from Wilbur, often to the point of denial, repression, and general unhealthiness. While I do believe that Ghostbur and Wilbur are not the same person—and feel very strongly about that—I also definitely think that acknowledging the fact that Ghostbur would not exist without Wilbur, that he is deeply connected to Wilbur, and that there are similarities between them is hekkin important—and it’s something that Ghostbur tries his best not to do. And it’s not good!! It’s not healthy!! Ghostbur causes a lot of angst for himself because of this!!

And also Ghostbur’s strictly black and white worldview, especially during his earlier days, and especially in regards to Wilbur, does a lot more harm than good, and completely erases & ignores the good aspects that Wilbur had, and the good things he did throughout his life. I think Ghostbur likes to believe that Wilbur is an inherently, 100% purely evil monster of a man who can only do bad, destructive things—and of course that’s not true at all. Wilbur is a person just like Ghostbur, and he makes serious mistakes and has serious flaws, but y’know. He’s also human. And humans are a very messy mixture of good and bad.

I think that the journey Ghostbur goes on with his opinions about Wilbur is one of the most interesting parts of the entire SMP, and it’s a real shame that no one talks about it. Over the course of Ghostbur’s (admittedly very short) life, he goes from “Wilbur was evil and incapable of good” to “Wilbur did bad things but he wasn’t fully monstrous.” AND!! THAT IS SO COOL AND INTERESTING!! AND FILLED WITH SO MANY THINGS TO PICK APART & THINK ABOUT & PONDER!!!

Ghostbur is simply trying to cobble together an identity for himself but the problem is that he doesn’t know who he is, not really, so he’s constantly searching for something to live for, and he’s constantly confused and wondering and longing. Longing for something solid that he can set his mind on. And he really gravitated towards the idea of rebuilding L’manburg I think because 1) L’manburg was Wilbur’s unfinished symphony and Ghostbur feels like he’s the one who needs to be responsible for finishing it, and 2) rebuilding L’manburg would be beneficial for & appreciated by the residents, which would make them happy, and Ghostbur has his heart dead-set on making people happy, and 3) he has no idea what his purpose could be outside of L’manburg, so he finds it easier to pour himself into that country, so much so that he leaves little to no room for speculation on other possibilities for why he was “brought back.”

basically my recent project is im kinda sorta stealing my kynseed ocs for it and also One Guy but that One Guy is so different that if i didn't say anything im pretty sure that no one wouldve known lol

its a story about one man who gets saved by a mysterious deer who turned out to be a fae in disguise and grants this man very potent plant magic and everything that happens after

(his name is oscar btw but he goes by Oz) more talking and also pictures and rambling under the read more

oz has spent his whole life being affected by the fae. they dont mean any harm but some of the more animal like fae get kinda aggressive sometimes so oz has had a lot of close calls in his life! seeing this deer and finding out it was a fae was probably something he was going to see one day but to be granted powers for protecting it (and nearly dying as a result) was not what he was expecting

thing is oz doesnt want these powers! it's difficult for him to control and he didn't even ask for it (because the fae are supposed to ask him what he wants right? and how is that equivalent to his deed?) plus his powers are much stronger than any human could ever dream of. plant magic is already one of the hardest magic for a human to learn but not even experts can achieve what oz can now do accidentally. it feels like overkill for simply taking an arrow to the stomach for an odd doe. that and it now feels like they expect oz to owe them now for this power, which unsettles him if that is the case

theres a lot more (like jonah's sister and a few others) but its already long and maybe when i have more drawings i can try to ramble more

Thanks to this fandom, i thought about alex, this useless side character more than i had to so i had to. I'm also an alex hater through and through and i agree with a lot of anon and your points about alex here. You make a good point about the start of the friendship between Alex and Emory. I’ve never been…happy (?) with how it started, because it involved Alex making a whole lot of assumptions about Emory and being right…because she’s Alex and she’s always right…of course. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be Alex. And then to have that be the one night they spend with each other, and suddenly Alex understands Emory like no one else. She gets her.

The idea that Alex couldn’t process anything that challenged her justifications for her anger because that would mean she’s wrong about something. It would be an actual flaw on her part. And that her feelings for Emory were borne a bit of jealousy. I’d have like if her character and went farther in that direction.

I think for my part, I always considered Alex’s main motive toward Emory was knowing that Will was still in love with her and that Emory had the power and ability to hurt him as she had before. She was protective of Will – “her reflection.” It’s nice to see another possibility/side of it. You make a good point. I guess I never considered Alex feeling inferior to Emory. Emory’s background being different from the people she’s surrounded herself with, to then see Emory rise above that and carry on, leaving Will behind like she probably saw Aydin rejecting her, and suddenly seeing the way Will and Aydin react to Emory might have made her feel small and like a stand-in, which she is for so many.

I agree that it’s a little out of bounds to compare Alex’s pain with Emory’s.

You said she couldn’t argue back with Emory and I’m not sure of the moment you’re talking about but the first thing that came to mind was “that’s my shirt”…like, girl. Girl. i have some thoughts on the Thin Man :)

thoughts that i HAVE discussed on my twitter but for the sake of convenience i will elaborate on them (in excruciating detail i am so sorry) under the cut (SPOILERS ABOUND)

So we all know that mono spent the rest of his life in that tiny room in that single chair right? but he was still growing and aging like any person would and still retaining his basic bodily functions. but he hasn’t left that room. so he hasn’t had any access to food or water or anything to ... know... keep him alive. and yet he still grows for years. but how?

so it seems like the writhing mass of meat and eyes in the Black Tower (ive been calling it the Mass) is the center of this whole worlds problems. Whatever is being broadcasted by the Tower and is enrapturing these people and warping them and disfiguring them is most likely from this Mass (and honestly why i think that all of the children look completely normal compared to all of the adult figures because they’ve been exposed to the signal for longer, and another example of that being how FAST Six transformed when she was taken to the Black Tower because of the direct exposure to The Mass’ influence (besides the thin man but i’m getting to that). So it has the power to physically manipulate a persons appearance. So that makes me think if it can do something like that, it can keep something ALIVE if it really wants to. 

But why would it want to keep Mono alive? Because it NEEDS him. it NEEDS his power and they NEED his CONTROL over them.  Mono is the only one who seems to be able to keep The Mass at bay. In fact within the final moments of the game where The Mass started to look like it was surrounding him, there was a pulsing of static and it was suddenly gone with mono left alone in the chair.  Because of his ability to traverse through the tvs, and what we constantly see of mono when he’s trying to control the static in the tv when he’s trying to get to the hallway, he has the ability to fine tune and filter whatever overwhelming signal this creature is giving out. So, with his power, he maintains control over the signal for The Mass, and in turn, it keeps him “alive” without the need to leave the room.

But because of The Mass having to manually grow this barely alive child, Mono grows and elongated unnaturally, making mono grow into something a little farther from human, but with Mono still having control over The Mass’ influence he still looks something closer to human still. But literally the only reason that i draw his hair being long is to imply growth without maintaining anything cuz im pretty fuckin sure he doesnt really have the utilities to cut his hair lol  but then that argument could be made for facial hair to which he has fucking none (like h ow?? ?? ? ??) but i think one could make the argument that because The Mass only has limited knowledge of actual humans and only knows of what is normally broadcasted though those tvs, and since it looks like those tvs are fairly outdated, looking about 50′s to 60′s era, then what would normally be broadcasted are clean shaven men in suits so it would only know as much of what it broadcasts. as well as Mono being a literal child who likely knows nothing about human physiology other than how long it probably takes for someone to die of starvation and not knowing shit about how adults work and just rolling with it

The novelizations, the films, the comics, they always try to show that Odin does whatever he does out of love for his children including loki despite comic wise he treats loki a fuck of a lot worse than the mcu odin does, he still loves them. apparently. He flat out mentioned to angela once that when technically as the eldest, asgard would be hers one day if she reintergrated. she did not want to and instead eventually became the queen of hel when her wife was taken by hel. Thor was meant to become king as asgard as the oldest, i don’t remember if its tbe same in the mcu or not but as the elder child it isn’t odin ‘choosing’ thor, its his literal birthright as the eldest assumed living child. Also why hela and ragnarok make no sense, and paint odin even worse than he paints himself. The only reason the title of crown prince fell to Thor was because Odin believed Aldrif (Angela’s birth name) was killed as a newborn.

The whole entire thing w Hela made no sense for nonreason beyond he, in the film universe (including novelizations and the books attached to the universe) involve him giving the kids a chance to ‘redeem themselves’. Him refusing that with Hela just doesn’t make sense with the character that they built him up to be. He’s extremely brash and harsh and makes the kids feel unworthy and all that, but he gives them the chance.

He yeets out of consciousness every single time he knows he fucked up, honestly i think thats just a parent thing either they yell and make you hate yourself or they knock off and pretend nothing happened.

And he’d have known how he should have raised him. But they also like to change the definition of all knowing between works, because in some works its ‘all see wherehe sees all thats happening at once’ or ‘all see where he sees past present and future at once’, aka where my issue w ‘all seeing’ takes place, because they don’t even have a set definition to use for it, they do whatever is convenient for the storyline. I’ve worked in the entertainment industry for those unaware and I always hate when things are done for convenience rather then kept in a continuity. its just a cop out for me.

They mirror each other in multiple ways and, it’s kind of dumb in a way because a truly loving parent in my opinion should try to help their kids not become raging genocidal douchebags, and odin just… doesnt. Arguably banishing thor stopped thor from doing it, but jane did the same for loki too. Considering Loki’s the one who planned genocide before thor was even banished, he all in all probably should have banished loki instead. Redemption arcs, thats what people gotta think about. It’s hard to do well but even with loki it could have been done. Technically it was done via jane, everyone just ignored it. And since they ignore it, I take pleasure in poking fun at him for all the things he did pre A1. Notice I don’t ever poke fun at what he did from thanos abuse? I only specifically poke fun at what he did in thor 1. Easy mistake I know, because he also attempted genocide in a1, but a1 theres too many fandom factors and thanos factors to throw in so theres no point in even being concerned with that one.

Odin had a massively negative reaction to attempted genocide (ironic given how many times he himself committed genocide, but thats what double standards are) and banished his ‘golden child’. At that point Loki could have rethought his plan and chose not to, he wanted to kill his own species upon learning what he was because of self hatred (which is odins fault for teaching him that, that’s something i think most people can agree on)

all in all, my ooc posts are meant more or less as a joke, and my making fun of things i find dumb, as evident by my hundreds of ‘capcom please’ posts and thanesis jokes. It’s all a joke to me, but I’m sorry if I offended people, it’s not meant in offense I’m just pointing out that pretending Loki did no wrong when he and odin did the same shit is kinda dumb. Odin’s worse offense is being douchey to his kids, but you wouldnt get the stories you have if he wasnt. theyre vikings, this is kind of just how they behave.

also a note i realized tho i already deleted the og post bc too many randos were dming me and i got overwhelmed (it was maybe 3, im overwhelmed easily) but like i think the confusion actually was bc i was referencing the book and saying the worst thing odin did was being a prick to loki in it at the end, but i didnt specify i meant worst thing he did in the book, not in the entirety of everything he ever did, and because most people can’t comprehend how my brain works it just didnt come across right and that is my fault so im totally sorry for that part thats on me i did not mean odins never done smthn worse even to lola i meant in the book that was the worst that i can remember at the point i started talking about the book i forgot the rest of the media existed because i was not thinking about it, adhd brain, again thays my fault totally sorry about that confusion, but hopefully this explanation of all the things helps in some way
