synopsis: out of concern for your health, eunseok tells you it's not a good idea to play in the snow. to fix the frown on your face, he provides a warmer way of enjoying the snowy night.

"just for tonight! please, seok!" you begged.

shaking his head, eunseok insisted, "it's too cold, darling. you'll get sick again."

it was finally snowing after the brutally scorching summer, but you couldn't enjoy it. you tend to get sick quite easily, and eunseok knew that all too well. to avoid having to take a week off of work to take care of you, he advised you to stay inside. even with all of your sulking and whining, he didn't break.

"a few minutes won't hurt," you whine, crossing your arms from across the kitchen. eunseok pushed up his glasses and argued, "you said that last time. what happened then?" you look down at your socks recalling the weeks of coughs and a nasty fever after playing in the snow last january. you sigh and walk to the living room, shouting defenses from your distance. "that was one instance. why can't i just go out? you're not my mom!" eunseok scoffed and shouted back, "if i'm not your mom, don't beg me for help next time you get sick. and don't even think about asking me to cook dinner." you closed your eyes and threw yourself onto the couch in defeat.

"so are you going out or not?" eunseok questioned, standing at the doorway with a stern tinge to his voice. you turn away from him and shake your head, not bothered enough to respond in words. he chuckles and walks off to the kitchen. your petty silent treatment was powerless toward cracking eunseok's hard exterior when he knows how easily he could make you smile. so he got to work.

you sighed hearing eunseok's footsteps grow near. you closed your eyes and kept your back to the doorway. you couldn't suppress your peak of curiosity as you heard a clink of glass tap onto the coffee table. slowly sitting up, you turn to eunseok looking at you with a warm smile. your eyes lit up at the sight of the two cups before him. as a warmer alternative to enjoying this snowy night, eunseok made your favorite drink: hot chocolate.

you spring to your feet and rush over to peek into the cups. there was a plain cup of hot chocolate beside a cup with a mountain of whipped cream, painted prettily in stripes of chocolate syrup and marshmallows. your wide eyes melt into a smile, cheering "thank you, seok!" eunseok scoffed at the abrupt shift in your mood, but he couldn't push off the sense of deepening adoration in his chest. "of course, darling," he mutters, leaving a soft kiss on your temple.

once you were cuddled up on the couch with your marshmallows and cocoa in your hand, you forgot all about the snow outside, focusing on nothing but the sweetest boyfriend you had beside you. you took a sip and melted into complete bliss, the warmth of the cocoa thawing your numb fingertips. "how is it? do you want more whipped cream?" you smiled and giggled, "i could never have enough whipped cream." eunseok brushed your hair behind your ear and smiled. "i know, baby. the cup is already overflowing." you laughed before placing the cup on the table and returning to eunseok's arms. "what's wrong? you don't like it?" eunseok asked, pulling you closer to his chest. "of course not. i just need to hug you." eunseok's cheeks flushed pink as you snuggled against him. running his hand down your back, he uttered softly, "you're the cutest. let's stay warm, 'kay?" you nod and eunseok pulls the blanket over the both of you, tucking you into a pocket of euphoria.

the cold couldn't harm you as long as you had eunseok.

# SHOTARO. - for the first time ever, shotaro doesn't smile. he can only sit in silent shock while he processes your words, and the first thing he can think of to do is to hug you. holds you tight as he whispers apologies over and over again, feeling terrible that he made you think that he was cheating on you. reassures you gently that he would never, and promises that once he gets a rest day, he'll spend all his free time with you.

# EUNSEOK. - eunseok isn't one who usually shows his emotions, but pain and guilt is so evident on his face after hearing what you said. he had no idea that you were feeling this way from how busy he's been these days, and he feels awful about it. tells you that he's sorry while wiping your tears away, and he swears to himself to start treating you with more love and care from that day onwards, starting from right now.

# SUNGCHAN. - he hates himself for making you think that he was cheating on you. calls up his boss immediately with the fakest cough and sneezes, lying without batting an eye about how he was 'terribly sick' and needed 'at least two days off' to 'recover'. he spends those two days with you, never once leaving your side as he takes you out to all your favorite places and showers you with love and compliments.

# WONBIN. - even though he immediately reassures you that he's not cheating on you and spends the night with you in his arms, he still feels so bad. life still goes on as usual for the both of you the next day, him busy at work while you were busy with yours. but just to make it up to you, wonbin has a bouquet sent right up into your office - a bouquet of a hundred and one roses, reminding you that you're his one and only lover.

# SEUNGHAN. - he understands how you feel and why'd you think that way, so other than seunghan promising that he'll try to spend more time with you, he also lets you voice out your worries in detail. he listens with full attention, nodding when you mention how you didn't like one of his female coworkers because she seemed so close with your boyfriend. and right after the words have left your lips, seunghan slips out his phone and blocks her on everything, right in front of you. he wants you to rest assured knowing that he couldn't care less for anyone else in this world other than you.

# SOHEE. - sohee has not and would never cheat on you. he loves you too much for that. he tells you just that as he gently kisses away your tears, holding you tightly in his arms for the rest of the night. he feels horrible for making you feel insecure in your relationship, so he makes sure to shower you in extra affection for the next few days. breakfasts in bed, long kisses before he leaves for work, and constant updates with photos about his day to you.

# ANTON. - his heart literally shatters into pieces. he can't help but cry too, because how could he make the love of his life feel this way? he apologizes to you through sniffles and sobs, promising you that he'd never cheat on you. tries his best to finish up his work faster the next day so he can come straight home to you and into your arms.

“i didn’t realise you were an expert on everything, enlighten me on how that wasn’t flirting!” seunghan spits his snarky comments.

“it was a crowded room you dipshit! we couldn’t control how much space there would be!” tears threaten to fall down your face as you and seunghan continue to argue over something that was out of anyones control.

“he was literally three millimetres away from u! he may as well have had his dick up your arse!” you could tell he was getting angry, the tips of his ears burning into a deep red while his eyebrows furrowed.

“you always do this! how many times do i have to tell you that it was out of our control” you were losing patience at this point, frustrated that your boyfriend won’t even try to understand you. “you’re acting like i did take him up my arse! you absolute monstrosity” you’re sure you’re on the verge of pulling your hair out right now.

“i don’t know why you’re talking as if you bring soooo much joy to the conversation” i swear if he utters another word.. you clench your fist and try to keep you peace, so angry out of your mind you start huffing and puffing.

“you talk so highly about yourself but you cant even stay loyal to your own boyfriend” seunghan scoffs

“don’t you dare roll ur eyes at me, i did nothing wrong, you’re the one blowing things out of proportion” you exclaim as you furrow your eyebrows and dig ur pointer finger into his chest.

“you’re so out-“ SLAP

“what the fuck!? what was that for!”

“you’re acting like a fucking cunt!” you scream before turning on your heel and locking yourself in the shared bedroom.

*knock* *knock*

“baby, please open up”

“fuck off”

“baby, you’re starting to piss me off now open up”

you give no response as you try to suppress your small sobs

“fucking hell” seunghan whispers under his breath, rolling his eyes as he grabs his car keys and jacket from the couch.

you hear the front door shut while you dig under the covers to find your phone.

“aeri you dont understand, he’s so infuriating! i cant stand him all he does is cause problems” you sob while recounting the events that occurred earlier in the day

“y/n, im telling you as a friend but also as a sister, you should consider breaking up with him, everyone has noticed that you’ve been so down, and seems like its been taking a toll on you, this isn’t healthy”

“you don’t understand at all oh my god” you hiccup “i love him too much to leave and i know he feels the same way”

“but he doesn’t act like it at all”

seunghan had left the shared home, trying clear his mind rant to his friend.

he tried to wrap his head around why he would act like that. but now that he thinks about it, he’s always acted like this, over exaggerating the seriousness of everything.

he recollects what he had said before, insisting that the forced close proximity was comparable to cheating. even things that have happened before, such as the incident where he mistook your kindness towards a waiter as flirting.

seunghan realises that it was never a two way toxicity, rather only coming from him. the immense guilt he currently feels is nothing compared to the sadness he has caused you.

“hyung i messed up so bad” seunghan is currently sobbing, with head his hands while his phone plays on loudspeaker “like really bad, im pretty sure shes crying right now”

“seunghan, im sure she is, you literally insinuated that she cheated on you ‘cuz she was next to a guy?” eunseok’s sure that his friend has never acted irrationally before, but seeing how he reacted to such a small thing, he thinks he needs to reevaluate his friend.

“hani, im telling you as an older brother, fix it while you can, you won’t know how much this may have effected her until you talk to her, the more you put it off, the worse it will get”

you leave the room you’ve locked yourself in for the past three hours, throat burning in thirst, you head to the kitchen to fetch a drink. while you finish your cup of water, you hear the gears turn in the door, indicating seunghan had returned from whatever, wherever. you don’t care right now.

now you two are standing opposite each other, both avoiding any sort of eye contact.

seunghan takes steps forward towards the sink to wash his hands, conveniently you’re standing right next to it, so you take your chance to swerve away from him. seunghan swears his heart breaks even more than before.

you take three big leaps and now you are in your living area of the apartment. your emotions are all over the place, one second you were upset, the next emotionless, and now your angry. angry that he still hasn’t said anything (mainly apologised) despite him being the one who had the worser choice of words.

you turn to face him with a disgusted look on your face. “why cant you just let go of that pride of yours?” you dont shout, you dont want another argument, no matter how angry you were currently.

seunghans lost for words, he wasn’t expecting a confrontation this early on into coming home.

“you know i love you, and i know you love me.” you sigh, relaxing all your facial muscles so rather than seeming annoyed, you seem approachable now. “but you cant make everything into a problem because you didnt like it” seunghans head falls to face the bottom of the sink as you relay your feelings

“we’re in a relationship, if you don’t like something, tell me and ill do my best to fix it. im hoping you’d do the same for me” you continue as you stare at the side of his face.

seunghan sighs while he dries his hands on a tea-towel and walks over towards you. both of his hands are now placed on the sides of your face

“i do love you. i love you so much it hurts.” his eyes sparkle with love and adoration. “i’ll be honest i dont know why i acted like that, but i’m so sorry that i did. i’ll try harder to never act like that again, i dont want my pretty girl crying sad tears because of me” he says while wiping his thumbs over your dried tears.

you let out a small smile, this is just what you wanted, seunghan to take accountability. you lean up to place a peck on his lips before pulling him into an embrace.

“i love you” you both say at the same time, leading you to pull away from each other and fall into a pit of giggles and pressing kisses against each others faces.

seunghan moves a strand of hair behind your ear and leans towards it, whispering a small “i love you so so so so much”placing small kisses to the top of your ear after every “so”, and he finally presses a long smiley kiss onto your lips, exerting enough force to bring out another giggle from you and reciprocating the kiss.

no matter how much you fight, you can always kiss it better.
