eunseok has been following you around all day like a lost puppy. it’d be cute if he hadn’t pissed you off. you’ve been giving him the silent treatment since you woke up. all his friends know too, and they’re siding with you. he ordered your favorite food, got you flowers, and even bought one of the things you mentioned wanting so long ago. but still, you turn a blind eye, partly because you want a formal apology, but also because you find it funny to watch him grovel.

finally, after a whole day, he comes to you, standing next to you at your vanity. his pout is large, yet you ignore him, doing your nightly skincare as if he isn’t there. he calls your name, once, twice, in the softest voice imaginable, but when you don’t answer, he just starts talking.

“i miss you..” he starts, watching you with glittery eyes. “i’m really sorry for what i did..” you don’t think he even knows what the problem is, but at this point you’re starting to forget as well.

he comes up behind you, arms slipping around your waist. you don’t push him away, but you still don’t acknowledge him. his lips find your neck, pressing against the skin over and over, his tongue eventually coming out to leave strips of his saliva over the spots his lips were. “you gonna keep ignoring me?” his hand squeezes your hip, and he smirks when your breath hitches.

pulling your stool away from the desk, he turns you to face him. you make eye contact, but your expression is still blank. he hums, slowly nodding his head. “i see..” he starts, leaning in so close to your face that your eyes begin to cross. “you want me on my knees? is that it, darling?”

he sees the way your cheeks light on fire, and slowly, he falls onto his knees in front of you, hands pushing your knees apart. his lips land on your bare thighs, nipping and biting at them until he hears your voice. finally, you gasp, and with a kiss to your skin, he pulls away.

“that easy, huh? it’s okay, baby, i’ll show you how sorry i am.”

ಇ. nights were always your escape from the bustle of day to day life. but you begin to wonder if it's the dusk of the soft moonlight that makes you love the late nights so much, or if it's the sleepy boy beside you.

you knew it would be difficult to slip out of bed the next morning in time for work with how welcoming the embrace of the covers felt.

the pillow felt softer than usual, the sheets felt silkier than normal, and the blanket felt warmer than ever.

yet somehow it was still hard to catch some rest.

your mind couldn't focus on the effort your bed was putting into inducing that dreary state you've felt all day, instead all you could think of was the suffocating weight of your adult responsibilities. work has been busier than ever, and your relationship with your friends has been weakening due to your inability to spare even 15 minutes to facetime anyone. the daytime makes the loneliness settle in with only the company of mere paperwork and a cup of coffee to drag you through the next hour. but at night, you had a cure to the unease of your daily routine.

you turned onto your side and faced the boy who was somehow sleepier than you despite doing nothing all day. you always found it shocking how fast sungchan fell asleep every night despite being wide awake minutes prior, telling you all about his day and asking you about yours.

you had to admit how much you missed him. sure, you text him between tasks and call him during your lunch breaks, but you always felt guilty for the lack of face-to-face intimacy.

you missed the days where you had enough time to cook for the both of you, making dinner with leisure yet so much determination while sungchan was stuck to your back, blabbering about the smell of the food and how well you were doing. you missed the simple moments of being in his presence, and that's why nighttime always feels the most comforting.

today, you felt guilty. you planned to spend your day off with sungchan and possibly catch up with some friends, but the increasing weight of your workload caught up to you even on your only day off for the next 2 months. making full-time money began to lose its motivational value once you completely lost your personal life.

sungchan lied on the bed all day watching you complete tasks at your desk, frequently asking if you were ready for a break or if you needed anything. you tried your hardest to give him as much attention as possible, but your focus couldn't keep drifting from your overdue responsibilities.

you thought you'd have enough time to sit down and watch a movie with sungchan, but he was already sleepy by the time you shut your laptop for the night. you ended up slipping between the covers, ditching the movie night plan to let your baby fall asleep in your arms.

though he was ecstatic to be so close to you, you still caught onto that lingering sense of neglect. no matter how tight you held onto him, you could never make up for the lost time.

your eyes began tracing his features: his shut eyes, his long eyelashes, his chiseled nose, his slightly agape lips, his long hair sticking to his skin, the slight pink flush of his cheeks. every time you saw the small details of his face, you couldn't help but wonder how lucky you are to have such a beautiful boy all to yourself.

your hands couldn't resist cupping his cheeks and brushing the hair away from his face. your thumbs brushed against his skin, your touch delicate in hopes of not disrupting his sleep. the tails of your lips curled into a fond smile at the warmth beneath your fingertips.

his nose lightly scrunched before he hazily mumbled, "still awake, baby?" you hummed a reply and moved closer to him. your hands were less hesitant and lost their caution once a weak smile spread on his lips. "you've been tired all day, what's keeping you awake?" sungchan asked, still too lazy to open his eyes. you fondly smiled and moved the hair poking at his face. "i wanted to pay a little more attention to you before bed," you spoke softly while tracing his features. sungchan lazily opened his eyes and met yours with the warmest, gentle gaze.

"don't get all sentimental now," he joked, "i don't wanna have to wipe any tears at this hour." you laughed and lightly hit his chest, refuting, "i'm fine! just let me look at my boyfriend!" sungchan chuckled and let his eyes shut once again, nodding, "nobody's stopping you, c'mon love." you warmly accepted his invitation and let your hands travel back to their spots on his cheeks.

"you're so pretty..." you marveled, eyes affectionately sweeping over his every feature. his cheeks lifted into a wider smile and he cracked his eyes open again. "you miss me that much?" he teased, skeptical of the sudden affection. you nodded and traced his bottom lip with your thumb. "miss you so much, channie." you affirmed, a sudden gloomy tinge dimly lingering in your gaze.

sungchan heard the guilty tone in your voice and saw the regretful glint in your eyes. he moved in for a soft peck on the lips before looking into your eyes with such tenderness. "i can stay awake a little while, is that what you want?" you shook your head and pulled yourself closer, resting against his chest and wrapping his waist in a tight embrace. "i know you're tired, it's late. i'll try to sleep," you rebuked, tightly shutting your eyes. he chuckled and rested his hand on the back of your head, stroking your hair. "i don't mind, i don't work like you do. i'll always be able to catch up on sleep later. you wanna talk or get a snack?" you shook your head, but sungchan could only chuckle at the feeling of your smile against his chest. "i can feel you smiling, silly. let's talk, it's been a while." your smile slowly dropped as the guilt settled in again.

"i'm sorry, channie," you whispered, fingers entangling themselves in the fabric of his loose shirt. sungchan looked down at you with furrowed eyebrows. "what's wrong?" he asked. your hands busied themselves fidgeting with his clothes as you searched for the right words to say. "i, well... i don't think i've been doing a good job at keeping you happy," you admitted with a tinge of dread in your voice, "i feel like i see my coworkers more than you. i want to be home more often. i really wanted to spend time with you today." it took a little more strength for sungchan to hold the increasing amount of unease in his heart now that you spoke of your guilt. "don't worry about me, dummy. look at me, i'm doin' fine. i'm always here whenever you call me, there's nothing to feel guilty about. we've all got our own things to deal with, i understand. plus, i didn't mind watching you work today. better than the lame movies on the netflix catalogue." he kept his eyes on you in hopes of spotting a mood change, but your face remained hidden against his shirt.

"you can tell me if it bothers you, sungchan. it bothers me too. i just want enough time to sit down and eat a proper meal with you. i shouldn't have to call out just to get some quality time with my family," you complained, pouting with every word. sungchan scoffed and left a kiss atop your head, agreeing, "it's about time for a new job, don't you think? they overwork you, baby. it's not about missing me, it's about not having enough time for yourself. i haven't seen you pick up that coloring book in weeks when that's all you used to do before they hired you. don't you miss coloring or going for walks? the weather's been real nice the past few days, it's a shame."

the weight on your shoulders seemed to lighten at the thought of resuming the old life you had before being dragged through the mud at your current job. you missed the lazy days on the couch, rewatching hours and hours of your favorite shows. you couldn't remember the last time you could focus on nothing but sungchan, or the last time you could soak up each other's presence without any worries. quitting didn't seem too bad if it meant being able to love sungchan the way you did before.

"that's a good idea," you nodded, "i wouldn't mind a little extra time." sungchan scoffed and snuggled his cheek on the top of your head. he groggily mumbled, "i wouldn't mind that either. miss your cuddles, love..." you laughed and let your body rest snug against his. taking in a deep breath of his warm scent, you cooed, "it's okay to fall asleep, channie. i'd hate to keep you awake." silence stiffened the air, giving you the reply you were waiting for. you giggled, looking up at your boyfriend, astonished at how quickly he gave in to his fatigue. you let your lips trace his skin and left gentle kisses wherever you could reach.

when you finally met his lips, you were shocked by a deeper kiss pressing itself into yours.

pulling away, you felt yourself drowning in the affection of your half-asleep boyfriend's gaze. admiring you with a slow blink, he whispered earnestly,

"don't worry 'bout me, love. i'll still be holding you when you wake up. see you in the morning, hm?"

i've always seen Sohee as a little cousin :] he's so hyper and i can't help but play along with whatever game he wants to play (video game or physical one), he's just a little guy you have to spoil. who cares if he takes the last ice cream, i can buy more
