hi! i have a lot of information for you.

first off, my specific recommendations of fantasy toy shops i’ve bought from or know to be reputable: uberrime, wandering bard, twilight meadow creations, strange bedfellas, pleasure forge, pp sculptors, batbites, xenocat artifacts. all of these shops have toys under 100 usd. uberrime especially has a huge selection including non-fantasy, realistic, and dual density. my top 3 fantasy toys right now are TMC’s ambrose (mini), wandering bard’s shadow demon (x small), and uberrime’s ardor dragon (small). highly recommend ambrose to transmascs with bottom growth. also it looks cool as fuck. mine is bright green and yellow.

second, this google doc is a masterpost of fantasy and fantasy-adjacent sex toy companies (created as a list of alternatives to bad dragon) and is organized quite well, and includes some shops to be wary of. it was last updated in 2022 so it’s outdated, but it’s massive and still quite useful. safe fantasy toys dot com also lists body safe toy companies, although you should still check reputability of the company before you buy (some of the companies listed on the site should still be avoided for various reasons— try cross checking with the google doc, browsing reddit, etc). all of the specific companies i recommend in this post use platinum silicone only, but if you go searching for other toys make sure to avoid jelly and other porous materials because they cannot be sanitized properly and will store bacteria. just like with piercing and body jewelry (another one of my special interests lol), it’s always better to pay more for safety when it’s something going inside your body. reputable stores will always list the material, and tend to have pages on their sites with even more specific information on their silicone. shipping also affects the price, especially international shipping.

also, when youre shopping for fantasy toys, make sure you check the sizing. smaller toys are frequently under 100 usd. many fantasy toys tend to be quite large anyways, especially knotted toys (many small knotted toys still have diameters of 2”+ which is too large for me personally. for reference i think the average human penis is somewhere around 1.5” diameter and my personal maximum for toys right now is ~1.75). there’s so much diversity in fantasy toys that you will probably be able to find toys that fit your desired length/girth and are still classified as small and therefore less expensive. if you’re new to fantasy toys or have trouble with insertion (or even just have an average sized vagina/rectum), small fantasy toys can be cost efficient and accessible and more fun than more standard toys. many stores will also sell b-grade toys at a discount for minor cosmetic flaws that don’t affect usage. also, there’s a pretty big market for secondhand toys/dong sales on twitter, reddit, etc so if you’re willing to buy secondhand, that can be more cost efficient. quality silicone toys can be properly sanitized by boiling and other methods. for more cheap options— good glass toys can frequently be under 50 usd, and are easy to sanitize. also, tantus isn’t quite a fantasy brand, but it’s very high quality and has some great toys on the cheaper side (i love the tantus magma). and if you want a really good cheap vibrator, the romp hype is amazing and only 35 usd.

ahh thank you!! (,,>﹏<,,) i'll js use this chance to give a brief overview of my understanding of aventurine!! so feel free to scroll below for my take on aven characterization on my fics. for now, tw: yapping (lol)

at face value, aventurine is js a cocky bastard (/aff) with a rlly fucked up backstory; in which i believe that he fakes his confidence to mask his insecurities + his inability to let go of his past (evident from quest desc, reddit user compiled it here). 

his self loathing words are also kind of an inferiority complex (??) though he hides it really well. plus he often puts himself down because he genuinely doesn't believe that he's worthy (was literally sold for 60 tanbas, definitely fucked with his mental, thinking his life is only worth that much) + his tendency to overcompensate in money cus he isn't able to believe that people would genuinely want his company if not for his fortune or riches.

for my aventurine fics, i have yet to write one that actually deep-dives into his character, not one that mainly focuses on his character at least!!

but yes i have advice for you anon! last time i went job hunting i got serious enough where i was reading 'askamanager' blogs and shit like that to really make sure i wasn't wasting my effort

so kendra's advice to job hunting in the most effort effective way:

first and most importantly is to understand that job hunting rn is simply a numbers game. it's not you it's just that the society we're living in is full of shit. for every 10 job postings, 4 are fake, 1 has an internal candidate in mind already, 3 are just posting jobs to look good and the rest are legit but slow af

bc job hunting is a numbers game its easy to be discouraged if you're not receiving responses consistently as proof that you're not just throwing shit into the void so its superrr imperative to try your best to apply to legit jobs. ive found my best success using indeed as a method of jobs being brought to me and then going on the company website myself and applying. this also doubles as a way to make sure a job posting/company is real

keep a spreadsheet of applied jobs. i just googled 'job application spreadsheet template' and picked one of the first ones i saw, made a copy, and then modified it to suit my needs. keeping a spreadsheet was one of the best things i did bc it can help keep track of jobs you've found and haven't applied to/ones you have applied to/and if you're like me and had a goal of getting a state job i could pre-empt when the interview requests were gonna come in lol 😭

resumes/cover letters. whew. probably the most important part of job hunting. ai scanning or not its a good rule of thumb to have skills mentioned in the job description to match the job posting. what i did was dedicate a folder in my google drive to job stuff and made a folder for each kind of jobs i was interested in. from there i would find a job i wanted to apply to and tailor an old resume to have a bunch of the shit mentioned in the posting on the new resume. i'd save it in the appropriate folder with the date i edited it. if you haven't been in the habit of tailoring your resume you may be doing this a lot but eventually you'll have so many variations you won't have to do much editing if at all. and i do the same with cover letters. i have a general template for my cover letter and then tweak them for each kinds of jobs im looking for. this + ditching linkedin helped me A LOT

create an interview cheatsheet. you probably already know the job hunting sphere has a language and culture all its own. personally as someone with a touch of the 'tism it do not make sense to me so i have unknowingly not navigated interviews as well as i could have. what's helped? ask a manager. seriously. miss allison has helped me blend in as a normie soooo much 😭😭😭😭 if you have any specific questions/have any specific weaknesses just search the site but what really helped me was the list of good interview questions. oh and for the longest i could never come up with a good question to ask my interviewer but one day google recced me this article and now every time i ask 'so what would separate a good candidate from an excellent candidate in this role' and when i tell you my interviewers gag every time lollllll. i also went through 'boost your interview iq' [pdf download link here <3] and jotted down notes on how i can answer common interview questions to quickly be able to go over the night before

study the job posting before the interview btw and try to drum up at least one correlating anecdote for some of the major points of the job bc they WILL ask you that lollllllll

personally, at first, it felt good, affirming to earn a living out of my art, it still does, but after years of it, i realized i would rather not monetize my work. it caused me to develop a complicated relationship with my creative process over the years. it often makes me question if i feel fulfilled with what i do, or if i'm only making this a means to survive. it burns me out constantly. even in the present, i have to continuously recondition my own perception of my process. but i'm currently not in a good position to just switch out my career.

i have been incredibly lucky that my art garners interest the way it does, and i make sure not to take it for granted. but i cannot hide how mentally draining it is to draw because i need to make ends meet instead of drawing because of the joy of it.

i like my art, i just wish i could enjoy it without worrying about a hungry stomach at the same time. 😅

i guess the point i'm making from all this is that money as a motivator in a creative field can be a mind killer. some people can do it, but i've rarely met such personalities... so what i'll say is this: if you want to learn and be around creatives, i would encourage going to art school, if you can. but going to art school isn't the end of it all either if you find it difficult to enroll yourself in one. art is accessible to all nowadays! just take a few google or youtube searches and maybe a little trip to the library, regardless if you want to keep it as a hobby or pursue it professionally. i've met a lot of artists who've landed full time jobs in studios without finishing an art degree. it's just a matter of letting your portfolio talk for you, a little bit of luck, and surrounding yourself with people who spark and uplift your creative spirit.

i know this is all still uncertain, but if there's anything i'm sure about, it's the fact that you don't have to give up art to live. art is living. it can still be your hobby if it doesn't end up as your job. and even if it doesn't become your career now, it's not impossible to have it in the future. i hope you find your way and, for what it's worth, congratulations on your upcoming graduation :)!

You've always had a huge sense of wonder, you think it's incredible to still be amazed by what the world can offer no matter how much you learn and grow.

So you are always curious about how things work, why they happen, how they exist, you remember walking in front of the TV as a kid and suddenly realizing you've been standing there for 50 minutes watching how garbage bags and CD's are made.

A lot of people would get tired of answering your questions sometimes, so you tried to limit them and google what you could.

But when you were with the turtles those inhibitions flew out the window, because Donnie was always willing to answer your questions, no matter how weird or dumb they were.

You'd ask if a bald person working as a cook would have to use a fishnet and Donnie would look at you funny but try to answer the best he could.

You'd ask if he would prefer to be blind or deaf and he'd consider the options then choose to keep his sight as it would be the most logical for his interests.

But mostly you'd ask about him and his brothers, mutation, turtles, etc.

You felt like you were a turtle expert by now and he was happy to see you interested in them and their lives even if a bit embarrassed, especially when you'd ask about them as kids.

Worst of, when you asked his dad and suddenly their baby pictures were out, it was a disaster.

Donnie is convinced you stole a couple of pictures but he can find no evidence of this.

But what Donnie personally loved the most was when you were curious about his creations, and you were always curious about them.

Whenever he had something new to show he'd go to you first, or if everyone else was present his eyes would constantly wander back to you while he presented his new baby.

He loved how excited you looked everytime he did, how your eyes searched around every crevice of them and your mouth would form a little 'o' while he explained what it was, your hand would twitch a little as you were eager to raise it to ask a question about it, any question you asked about his inventions would be greeted with his quick in depth answer and his own hands wiggling a little in excitement.

Truth be told what he loved the most was simply, you.

He'd answer any and every question you had if it meant you flashed that bright smile at him everytime he satiated your curiosity.

He'd build a thousand new projects if it meant you'd show him your excitement and curious nature everytime he did just to praise him at the end and share what you knew about the subject with him.

Today as you reached the lair you heard a clang from above in Donnie's lab, so curiously you went up to the second floor towards your friend.

When you walked in you found him mumbling to himself while he removed a plate from a resting S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N.

"What are you doing?" The sound of your voice startled Donnie and he jumped a little in his place before looking at you and relaxing.

"Ah, I'm working on a new update for S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N., so I need access to his circuit board, that way I can connect to his interface with my computer and send in the update directly to prevent any errors from sending it wirelessly" he explained while pulling out a second chair from under his desk and offering it to you.

You sat down looking attentively at the AI "What does the update do?" you ask and Donnie smiles gently before returning his attention to the circuit board.

"It mostly just corrects a few bugs he had, but it also improves the security of his firewalls and gives him access to a couple more weapons I added, like a small rocket launcher function" His chuckle at the end of that sounded very mad scientist like and you smiled as you watched him work in silence.

He finished the connection and started the process of transferring data from his computer before turning to look at you, he tilted his head curiously when he noticed that you seemed to want to ask another question.

You sheepishly looked back at him before asking "Do you ever get tired of my questions?" he looked startled at this but you continued quickly "Not that I think you dislike them particularly or something it's just that I know I ask too much sometimes and maybe you'd rather not answer them, it would be fine"

Donnie grasped at words surprised that you would think he'd get tired of them, of you.

He in retrospect could understand why you'd get that idea though, especially since he was usually so impatient with his brothers, but his brothers weren't usually as attentive to his responses as you were, which is what made him more exasperated at them.

"No no, I wouldn't get tired of your questions, in fact I like it that you ask so many questions" He stumbled his answer and you looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Really?"

Donnie smiled at you "Yeah, it's like you are always on a quest for knowledge and I think that's very admirable, not like my dum-dum brothers who ask questions and ignore the answer when it's not to their favour, scoff!" he rolled his eyes and you chuckled a bit at it, making his smile return as he looked at you fondly.

"Also, you are useful to my own search for knowledge because you actually pay attention to my answers and end up learning a lot about the subjects I'm working on, you give me ideas or share things you found out from going through a rabbit hole of curiosity by yourself, it's very refreshing."

You beamed up at Donnie and he felt his stomach turn, making a mental note to give himself a quick checkup when you were gone.

"Thanks Donnie, and I like it when you answer my questions, you're very good at explaining so it's easy to get it" You told him.

With a little bit of extra courage he continued "I also like it that you rely on me for answers, even when it's a weird question or something I don't know, I like looking for answers for you."

"Why?" Your smile softened and Donnie suddenly realized you both were at the edge of your seats, when had you gotten so close?

Donnie tried his best to keep a cool façade as he answered, but it was hard when you were so close "I like sharing what I know, I like that you listen, that you trust me, I want you to always ask me your questions" Dr. Feelings would be proud of him for managing to identify those feelings, even if Donnie himself wanted the ground to swallow him up the moment they stumbled out of his mouth.

Your eyes seemed brighter for a moment then and you seemed to hesitate again before asking another question.

Donnie looked at you reassuringly as he recovered slightly from the wave of embarrasment he felt, he'd answer all your questions, any question you asked of him he'd always do his best to answer.

"Donnie?" you started.

"Yes?"

"Why do you want me to only ask you my questions?"

It seemed a little redundant, but the answer you were asking of him was a particular one with an emphasis on the 'you', that made it different from the rest of the answers he'd already given you.

Donnie gulped, wanting to go away, to look away from your eyes shining curiously at him, to answer as vaguely as possible and would S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. just finish downloading the update already?

But regardless of the fears he'd bothered April with so many times before, his preconceived ideas of how'd you react or the fear that any moment now his brothers would walk in and interrupt or embarrass him he couldn't deny you, could never deny your curiosity, he'd only ever wanted to feed it.

"Because it means all of your attention is on me." he said, his voice soft, almost a whisper.

He was surprised as he watched your smile widden brightly, like he'd just given you a great gift.

"Can I ask you another question?"

He would never say no, he furrowed his eyebrows though "Aren't you abusing now?" you giggled at this.

"Do you like me?"

Hi ears rang and eyes widened, his brothers interrupting now didn't seem like a half-bad idea and oh god, you were even closer now.

"You're one of my best friends" he answered quickly and you smiled softly at him.

"I like you" his breathing stopped.

"You do?" he asked in surprise.

"Sometimes I ask more questions just to hear you explain things for longer" You answered a little shyly.

Donnie felt like his brain was exploding and reforming inside his head, and a million questions formed that he wanted to let out, like you both had just switched places.

Instead of asking any of the questions floating through his mind desperately, he answered yours.

"I like you."

Your smile widened impossibly and he faintly noticed his hand had ended up on top of yours and his cheeks felt tight.

Oh he was smiling, he was smiling really wide.

You just stayed like that for a while, the soft buzzing of his computer in the background and your hand warming his.

So I've been trying to do a bit of detective work regarding the origin of the "E-ming reopens wounds" translation. TL;DR I think it may have come from an early version of Suika's translation, and is likely a mistranslation.

Most translations I could find online (including Deep Dream translation group, several bootleg novel sites that have stolen Suika or Deep Dream's translations, and a couple of machine translations) have that passage in line with the official translation - that simply, E-ming is dangerous, forging it took a cruel ritual, and touching it would have terrible consequences.

I did however find a pdf containing the webnovel chapters 12-43, with the following:

precisely the excerpt I submitted before. At the top of this pdf is a note:

The link in this note leads to a 404 error, but is one that was shared around a lot before the Sevenseas' official release. I found a tumblr post from 2019 which identifies this link as Suika's (now deleted) translation.

So, it looks like this is a old document of Suika's, and I can only assume the "reopens wounds" thing was a mistranslation that Suika later corrected.

The TGCF epub I have on hand is an amalgamation of sakhyulations' (up to ch 23) and Suika's (ch 24 and beyond) fan translations. Well, it doesn't actually say it's using Suika's work, but, it does link the source of the ch 24+ translations, that being the above google drive link. I'm not sure who made the epub or when it was made, but they must have taken Suika's work before it had been properly edited.

IIRC this was an epub that was circulating tumblr a while back. I don't know how widespread the "reopens wounds" fanon is, but if it's popular on tumblr, I guess this explains why.

Sorry for such a long ask!! I think that covers almost everything I found. Oh, there was one single bootleg novel site that did have the passage:

"The wounds inflicted by the evil sword of E-Ming are all cursed. Even when the wound is healed, if Hua Cheng wants it, it will bleed once more." Jun Wu answered.

which is slightly different from the above passage from that pdf. But I couldn't find any real source for this translation, so I'm thinking it might just be based on the above passage, with words switched around to disguise the fact it's stolen.

E-ming reopening old wounds being a mistranslation of some sort does make more sense to me than anything else, just because it's so specific and yet the official translation makes no mention of it, but it being from one of Suika's earlier translations is interesting. I'm still curious what the original raws read like. I wonder, considering Xie Lian's arm injury doesn't heal without special medicine, if the raw says something about wounds being slow to heal or not closing, and that's where the mistranslation initially occurred.

'E-ming reopening wounds' isn't a fanon I see discussed much, but I've read more than one fic that uses the idea, and I've mentioned it to friends before in the past without anyone questioning it until recently. So, it coming from an old translation that was probably one of the initial ways people read TGCF makes a LOT of sense- people read it, internalized it, and stopped thinking about it when more accurate translations rolled around, while still keeping the idea in their head.

After watching a full 23 hour gameplay of the game, I sent you that message because I honestly thought it was crazy that so few people knew about this game and I wanted to contribute some publicity

And after weeks of playing the game myself, I must say that while it has some flaws, it's a game that shouldn't be ignored. It has many interesting aspects, such as its story, lore, world design, characters, character/creature design, humor, and the many morals that the game gives.

I wouldn't want to ask you much, just that if you could, take a look at this game. You don't have to play it, watching a gameplay is enough, and if you're interested, you can advertise it, the fandom of the game is so tiny that it's a shame, the game isn't perfect but it doesn't deserve to be criminally underrated.

Studying Jewish history and Jewish religious practice gives profound understanding and context to Abrahamic religions, as well as to the last 3500+ years of history, since at least the Late Bronze Age.

My answer to your Ask is based on this answer about Jewish history, which I posted a few days ago. Not a lot of people saw it, so I feel okay about posting these links here again.

This past month especially has made me realize just how little most gentiles (non-Jews) know about Jewish history. It's been eye-opening, for sure.

And ... you're right, unfortunately. I've seen a metric shit ton of Jew-hatred going around. And so many antisemitic conspiracy theories that originated with the Neo-Nazis and the KKK.

Some people have been spreading this Neo-Nazi rhetoric intentionally, but many others have been spreading it because they don't have the context to understand that they are repeating Nazi dogwhistles.

In talking to gentiles, I often find that their knowledge of Jewish history extends to a few facts about the Holocaust. Some gentiles who have studied European history and political science may also have a general understanding of Hitler’s rise to power.

But that’s only the past several decades of Jewish history! And it's limited almost entirely to Europe!

Jews are a Levantine people. We are indigenous to Judea (the area currently called Israel/Palestine), and our history goes back thousands of years to the Late Bronze Age.

For a good overview of Jewish history, from the Late Bronze Age to the present, I would recommend two YouTube channels. That’s a good place to start. There are many history books on the subject, but a lot of them are quite dense, and the videos from these two historians will give you a good general overview if you want to learn more.

Sam Aronow:

Sam Aronow covers the span of Jewish history, from the Late Bronze Age to modern times. It is an ongoing Jewish history project that he’s been producing for the past three years, and it is in chronological order. He is currently in the early 1900s, and he comes out with a new video every month or so (he's just released a new video this month).

NOTE: The Tanakh (the Hebrew bible) is an acronym that stands for Torah (Instruction), Nevi'im (Prophets), Ketuvim (Writings). It is NOT the same as the "Old Testament" in the Christian bible. The Christian editors of the "Old Testament" cut up the Tanakh and reordered it in a way that doesn't make any sense for Jewish practice.
