I don't think I'll ever get over the pure joy of being sapphic. Being a woman who loves other women is such a treat! Seeing lesbian couples out and about fills me with happiness and being part of one is amazing! I don't really know how to put it into words, but it's such a warm and soft feeling of mutual understanding and respect. Someone who can simultaneously empathize with all the hardships of womanhood but also celebrate the fun aspects with you. I'm so grateful that I was given the capacity to experience love in this way.

its crazy bc plenty of bi women I really relate to and feel like our experiences overlap vastly more than they differ but an equal amount of bi women's experiences are just very different to mine and we barely have anything more in common than I do with straight women and there's nothing wrong with that idk at what point insecure people decided to use lesbians as a yardstick for validity and if we don't pretend to relate to you, you accuse us of gatekeeping or something despite us being the smaller group. I have limited experiences in common with straight women or gay men or trans men too, but I still want them to thrive and especially to be in relationships where they're treated with respect.

there's no reason to forcibly conflate them and I feel like not only does it always fuel infighting by confining everyone in a small space and forcing them to get along, but it always leads to deciding someone isn't a Real bi woman and doesn't really experience whatever attraction they say they do because they're like annoying or unrelatable or unsympathetic to an audience of lesbians and other bi women. but we already recognised that trying to draw a line on who is enough to count and who isn't is a bad idea. wouldn't it be more productive to recognise the inherent diversity in the bi label that represents a spectrum of identities rather than a monolith. I genuinely think there's so much confusion bc we can't get our heads around the fact that one bi woman might relate more to a lesbian than to another bi woman or vice versa.

it's like weirdly essentialist to imagine that simply experiencing attraction to another woman or to a man in your head in any capacity would fundamentally alter your position in the world. we kind of get this with bi men because there are bi men who exist mostly in the straight world, bi men who largely inhabit the gay community, who move through both, who create their own bisexual circles, etc. but for some reason when it comes to bi women our collective imaginations can only come up with a quirky tradwife or basically just a lesbian. and you expect bi women and lesbians to do all the labour to work this contradiction out but I just think conception of bisexuality as a parallel identity to lesbianism or heterosexuality is always going to end up marginalising one aspect of someone's experience because it really is best conceptualised as more a wide spectrum of identities than one specific thing.

#like i feel about equally alienated from like gender conforming lesbians who only date other gender conforming women #but im not saying they're problematic or don't deserve to be happy or aren't real gays or anything else #it just always feels so choking the obsession with everything being either the same or invalid #I feel like that's at the heart of the angry fem4fem anon too like because I in my private little space dont revolve around feminine women #u feel invalidated bc I won't include u #like there are so many places for u. u don't need to belong EVERYWHERE #and like those stupid women in those tweets #I believe those beliefs n behaviours r harming themselves as much as anyone else lol #changing that would help all of us #sorry this is so long I can't figure out how to put my finger on the right thing #so many moments like those tweets abt man residue n everyone jumped up abt homophobic lesbians n then it turned out a bi woman said it #it's so broad and I think some of the shit that goes on therein can't even be described as lateral aggression

#s/he speaks #yes this is abt killing eve #(no i still havent gotten to the end it just keeps getting worse....... im here for the helene and villaneve scenes only atp)#and specifically the parallels between it and nbc hannibal #im gonna try to not go off too much bc i have enough thought to turn this into a 5 page essay #but basically #1. i feel like i dont even need to say this but if what happened to a show as popular as ke instead happened to a show a male oriented show #esp one with gay main characters. all of the writers would be in witness protection rn the backlash would have been deadly #2. besides the obvious point of misogyny and lesbophobia/hatred? discomfort? disinterest? with f/f relationships #it genuinely would have been better in the long term for ke to have ended on s3 #i dont like s3 all that much but even w that being said it would have been 1000x better if it just. ended at the bridge scene #and now w the parallels to hannibal - a good chunk of what keeps hannibal alive even today (besides the great story characters etc etc)#is the fact that it was cancelled with an ambiguous ending. its the perfect recipe for endless fanfics and keeping the audience alive #by keeping them hoping that *maybe* someday there will be more to come no matter how unrealistic the expectation is #meanwhile w killing eve the fact that it is officially over there is no hope #our s4 *is there*. its there and its shit and we just have to live with it because there are no second chances #sure ppl can and do write fanfics abt alt endings and ppl still make edits n whatnot but it feels like the fandom is just dead/dying #bc any and all memory of even the best parts of the show gets tainted by the knowledge of how it ends and of how badly they fumbled it #and even worse when you KNOW it didnt have to be like that. it could have been good. and yet #idk. i said id keep this short but im still rambling i just have a lot of thoughts #i wanna post ke stuff but this is just killing any enthusiasm i had for the show so far #which is so fucking stupid bc i love it even with the shit last season and i cherish it sm its one of my all time favs im just devastated t #and esp as an excath and bi woman. s4 feels like a straight up personal attack on my own bs that i was forced to deal w #i wish women got better media i wish shows focused almost exclusively on women more i wish there were more morally grey/evil mc women #i wish representation of bi/les women existed outside of sanitized desexualized “pure bean” femxfem media #(tumblr deleted half my tags so rewriting) idk i just wish this type of show wasnt so fucking rare and that woman centred media wasnt so #“softened down” ig??? idk how to describe it but it just feels like theres no way to get any dark/gritty female media w/o it having like.#a shit ton of misogynistic violence sexualization and sa. esp when you add f/f pairings in it #like can we be fucking happy. for once. pls #rant over ig

like. i feel like this is common sense but i dont know if people realize how intentional each second of a show/movie is. like whether the show is a silly sitcom or a serious drama everything is so intentional and purposeful. of course theres always continuity errors and mistakes that happen when you’re creating a show of that size thats been running for so long but for the most part everything has its intentions. its why you see certain themes come back again and again. im not gonna get into outfit meta or anything like that because its not really my wheelhouse but i did learn a lot about camera techniques and im a writer so. yeah.

shots are one of the most important aspects of a movie or a tv show. they set the mood. close up shots convey intensity and emotion while more wide shots establish a scene etc. they gave us a lot of close up shots of eddie’s face in the kim and eddie scene at the end of 7x09 because it was an intense moment for eddie as a character for example. you have to get the shot right to convey what you want your audience to see yknow.

so. you have the medal ceremony. they couldve done the announcements for these people in literally any order because they fucking wrote the script. they didnt do it alphabetically or anything normal they literally had the trio of triangulated desire standing in the back with buck in the middle AGAIN while chim and hen were being normal and serving cunt up front. and when they were sitting they had buck in the middle again because reasons. then once they got their medals itd pan to their families and significant others clapping. ofc for tommy they pan to buck because thats the person there supporting him. for BUCK they had so many options. they had bobby, his captain that he verbally said was his father figure the next episode, they had maddie, his fucking SISTER AND THE WOMAN WHO RAISED HIM, and they had tommy, the dude he’s dating. instead they pan to eddie.

literally that is the absolute LOUDEST fucking thing the show has done so far in my opinion. they panned to buck for tommy!!! they couldve panned back to buck or done it in a different order if they didnt wanna repeat so they could pan to them for each other!!! but they panned to eddie and the director of photography was even emphasizing that choice on twitter.

the entire bi arc had eddie written all over it. they had so many opportunities to shove their relationship to the side and double down on their friendship but they didnt. instead we had buck tweaking at the gym where we have no idea who eddie was even talking to on that phone, eddie constantly mentioned by buck in a kiss scene with someone else, the line of all time ‘MY attention?’, eddie interrupting the date next episode, buck not even giving a FUCK about the date because he lied to eddie, the shit maddie said that episode about being confused about his feelings, eddie saying nothing is gonna change between them (which. thats a chekov’s gun if ive ever seen one), and all the entire shit with the bachelor party. not even mentioning the implications of the song choice for the karaoke scene that paralleled madney because we didnt get it in the episode. they couldve completely avoided all of that but they didnt and then when buck is dating someone else they dont pan to HIM being happy and supportive for buck, they pan to EDDIE. it feels as if its supposed to remind us what’s actually going on or another attempt to clue us in

also like right after they had the two who were dating acting as acquaintances. and had that guy also kinda put buck’s excitement down at said ceremony. and later in that episode had buck ditch plans with the guy he was dating to make sure eddie was okay. for reasons i guess. so buddie canon or theyre doing a real bad job at getting me to care about bucks actual man
