omg I feel so silly because of how long it took me to identify this insect, I took this photo two weeks ago. T_T

The species is Glenurus gratus (AKA: doodlebugs and 'demons of the dust'). It's an antlion, within the order Neuroptera. Both adults and larvae are predators.

My mistake when I was identifying this one was that I thought it was a damselfly T_T

side tangent: I got orders Odonata and Neuroptera confused because they both have similar wing shapes and long thin bodies (and idk what im doing lol). However, you can tell them apart by resting wing placement: (with some exceptions) dragonflies fold their wings straight up over their backs, damselflies hold their wings straight out, and antlions fold their wings down at 45-degree angles.

the color though is really beautiful and distinct. The tips of the wings look like strawberry milk 🥛 🍓 also they are often found on southern live oaks (Quercus virginiana)!! Combining my love for tree and bug ID <3

Just wanted to go over M!leven vs Byler at the end of the season cause I feel like it’s such a huge piece of evidence that gets overlooked

First off, M!leven

Okay so! M!leven are having troubles from the get go, El’s mad that Mike won’t tell her he loves her and they barely spend any time together this season. It takes him a whole season and a pep talk from his best friend to finally say he loves her. Yet it still wasn’t enough. Hawkins is destroyed, El and Mike don’t talk at all, It didn’t work. Him saying he loved her didn’t work. El and Mikes relationship do not end well this season.

Now Byler!

Bylers also having troubles from the get go, difference is that Mike goes out of his way to apologize to Will. He makes the first move. (Notice how this directly contrasts M!leven where Mike has to be told to tell El he loves her.) Mike is literally the one to rekindle their friendship and apolgize for what happened- not Will, but Mike. Will and Mike then spend the whole season together. They have a heart to heart literally RIGHT before the season ends. El and Mike do not. When El walks ahead of Mike, he stays back to stand next to Will on the hill.

Mike stays behind on the hill with Will. At the end of the season he talks with Will. He spends most of the season with Will. He has 5 heart to hearts with Will. He is constantly shown standing next to Will. He ends on good terms with Will. Not his girlfriend. Will.

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - "Mask of the Masked Rider"

Prince Dex of Edenoi was given the powers of the Masked Rider by his dying grandfather, King Lexian, following a devastating final assault on Edenoi's capital by the evil Count Dregon. With Edenoi's defenses crippled, Dregon set his sights on Earth. Dex soon followed, teaming up with the Power Rangers and forming a strong alliance with them, counting them as some of his first and closest friends.

Dex's past is riddled in tragedy, Edenoi having been under constant siege since before he was born. His planet made for an easy target, as most of the population were pacifists, save for the Masked Rider Warriors that stood guard against incursions. Sadly, they were all wiped out in Dregon's final attack, leaving only Dex and his Ectophase Activator as the last remnants of the Rider Warriors.

Around the Rangers, Dex says everything extremely deadpan, making it hard to tell whether or not he's joking, but he will soon clarify with an equally deadpan "That was a joke." or "Was that not funny?"

He comes into inadvertant conflict with Tommy as she starts to worry about him replacing her on the team, threatened by the "newer and cooler green guy". The two soon reconcile as Tommy apologises for projecting onto him, with Dex saying that, as someone who also had never had friends before now, it's understandable that she would be worried about losing them again.
