im glad you enjoy them I was born too late to start a youtube letsplay channel so liveblogging is basically how I scratch that itch. I think so far I mean the faction reps are obvious so Jonathan and Walter are probably gonna be going off the deep end pretty soon since the lady who coincidentally randomly just has the exact same face as the black samurai sent us back down to cut her head off again i imagine that will probably happen whenever she gets confronted again but tbh idk exactly where things are gonna go i'm assuming law is like tokyo gets obliterated and the eastern kingdom of mikado goes on forever and chaos is the opposite or something but i'm going for neutral bc i always stand by my neutral girlies i love you isabeau gods chosen himejoshi.. but overall I'm really enjoying it like this game is just interesting as fuck! like coming off smtiii i was fully expecting for the first like 5 hours of the game i was just waiting for the pin to drop and the apocalypse to happen or whatever and genuinely the reveal that the apocalypse already DID happen and you’re just like the special chosen angel law children from earth is so fucking cool . it was so cool. i like this game

every few days i see hockey(?) liveblogs from you (I enjoy the enthusiasm even if i have no idea whats going on). What are the main teams you're following? is it just hockey?

this is so sweet, thank you for the support even if youre a little lost! it is just hockey! but i got plans to get into baseball when it starts in february (go pirates and cubs!) but a little too wordy vomit under the cut about my teams :)

my top team is pittsburgh penguins. for better or worse (and usually worse)—i will be there for every game and saying we're so back after one score when we're down by 5. i will defend them until my last breath, theyre the team ill always put on when having to choose between which ones are currently on. its not a hockey team, its sidney crosby building an ice family with his 5 and counting partners and being known for his banana bread and kind heart and fat ass while literally being the inspiration for over half the players in the nhl because hes been wonderful since he was a rookie. its 18 years of love and friendship despite the odds and how theyre so open in loving and supporting their teammates while hockey culture is filled with toxic masculinity. its the narrative loving and hating us, its sidney being gods most loveable and tortured lamb, its geno whos hilarious and dramatic with a heart of gold, its tanger and his greasy hair, its the babygirlifying grown men AND rooting for the old underdog who are in the 4th spot for the playoffs in their metro area despite our powerplay being a joke and our star players ages (late thirties isnt old by any account but for a high energy physical contact sport?? average retirement is 25-30 instead while 13 of our guys is 30+ and playing some of their best hockey)

after that i really like the leafs despite them being the leafs! theyre a blast to watch (sometimes) and theyre a big third period game, for better or worse. so its always exciting (sometimes unfortunately)! auston matthews is my top favorite from them, hes absolutely remarkable and doesnt get the credit and appreciation he deserves. but i also love the other players, mo, willy, and mitch all especially have a place in my heart :) third fav tosses around with who i can catch a game from most to be honest since a lot of times they overlap too much. im fond of the wild because their goaltender (flower!) was ours for forever. kraken is a blast and has lots of old penguin players too. avalanche is fun to root for when ive seen some games :) im less familiar with all of them but hockey is a fun sport to just throw yourself into and learn as you go so its never been an issue!!

teams i hate is anyone who won against my special guys in the last month tbh HFIFJ but i REALLY hate the chicago team, flyers, and vegas knights. chicago is.... a lot of bad shit off ice and has so many controversies—from their name and jerseys to players being abusive and cover-ups of sexual assault from coaches. just hate them and anytime i see those jerseys and remember theyre allowed while flower was threatened with a lawsuit if he wore his helmet (was designed specially by an indigenous artist to honor flower's indigenous wife and their kids during native american heritage month).... god i just get too pissed, theyre number one for who i despise. flyers are the biggest rivals to the penguins so it makes more sense (but also fuck the capitals and canes for personal grievances. also still mad at the canucks) vegas golden knights just annoys me so much with how theyre still calling themselves the misfits and i associate them with flower leaving so!!!

sorry for the little. word vomit lol but !!! if you ever want to get into hockey, please dm me! im no expert by any means and i know me throwing names out there is intimidating but i promise its fun once you get into it and you dont need to know much to just start watching! for me its great to have something to look forward to every week and watch something happen as it actually happens and liveblog—it kinda feels more like a loose community experience that i never got because of my health issues and disability! its also just fun to be dramatic (screaming its so over when scored on /celebrating a goal) over something thats kinda... not that important. (important for the players and fans ofc but it doesn't change anything in MY daily life outside of how i feel which is refreshing!) sports in general kinda encourage those big emotional responses and it can be great catharsis and silly if you let it be :) and the fan community here can be so welcoming if you just fully ignore twitter and the straight white angry men on it <3

come look at gifs of people calling a 36 year old babygirl and the excitement of a goal celly. come watch funny videos and clips and at how *our* captain wore tiny little shorts and a white shirt to get dunked in a water tank for charity. come and slowly learn how much shit the players put up with as rookies and have the happiness of hindsight at what happiness their futures would hold and why me saying 18 years of love and friendship despite the odds is so big because thats genuinely so rare (only 127 retired players in all of nhl history has accomplished this). come get emotional at poetry over getty images hockey pictures and relish in the delight that is finding art everywhere you go. come see people say that sidney needs to get knotted up and mpreg debates in who will abort that thang or not. take my hand and become a hockey fan, i prommy its not scary—not even during the 'who the fuck is this' stage <33

How I feel about this character

ive said this before for this meme but im really running out of ways to say "i like him". i like him!!!! really good character!!!!! im still thinking about yen liveblogging book 2 yesterday and quoting him saying "Kick me out, for all I care. I don’t give a shit about being a heavenly official! If it wasn’t for Your Highness’ appointment, I really don’t care for it. But even if you boot me back to the mortal realm and I become human again, I will still be loyal to you, Your Highness." kick me out for all i care. i will still be loyal to you. and xl does and fx is. feng xin is loyal forever and he's a bodyguard who knows instinctively that his job is to get hurt so xie lian won't be (the way that, in the donghua, "nan feng" is always trying to put himself between xie lian and danger--a bit in front and a bit to the side--) and he fails and he just wants to protect and care for xie lian and the royal family and jian lan and cuocuo and he can't successfully do this for a single one of them and they all leave him for his own good. but he's still trying, he's still loyal, he doesn't want to leave them even though he'll obey them if they ask him to go. actually im just going to link this ask game response i did abt him for a different ask game

honestly in canon i don't have strong romantic ships for him--jian lan is canon but not compelling, the more compelling ships are notably less canon and i'm less passionate abt queer readings there--but in the realm of fandom i do very much enjoy feng xin/xie lian bc of the aforementioned Eternal Devotion To His Master, and in general bc of the thing where xie lian is fx's entire Purpose in life (which is nonzero hua cheng parallells!). and there's also, hm, the thing where fx+mq are both Orbiting xie lian and xie lian is not really orbiting them back? which, as someone who's very into ships that are imbalanced/unrequited like that: very crunchy! also feng xin/mu qing but with the same caveats as i gave on my mu qing ask response, which is to say, i like approximately none of the feng xin/mu qing that actually exists, but if it were done completely differently it does in fact have potential. the thing is, it has to be about xie lian. very few fics know this

also feng xin & xie lian and feng xin & mu qing! and the three of them together! xianle trio: wildly compelling to me whether it's platonic or not. i think i probably lean platonic on these even in the realm of fanfic but i will enjoy & read it and be like Yes This Is My Feng Xin OTP whether it is gen or slash.

man i have no idea what's popular or not. or like i know one (1) unpopular opinion i have (fanon fengqing is BORING) but i already used that opinion on the mu qing ask game response.... it'd be a based unpopular opinion of me to have to care about jian lan & his relationship w her but in fact i mostly don't. kind of an L tbh

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

once again with the "tgcf is really well-written in a way that satisfies both my aesthetic and my selfish desires for many characters. i am happy with canon here tbh". there are definitely tgcf characters i wish things had happened differently for dgmw but there are also a decent fraction where im like "yeah canon was perfect. no notes"

Tl;DR, im trans, gay, satanist, alterhuman, plural, artist of many kinds, fan of various arts and culture, cat dad, cyclist, and Enjoyer Of Things. I both take myself way too seriously, and not seriously at all.

The first thing you have to know about me is that I am a member of a plural system. The second thing you need to know to understand where I'm coming from is that I myself am made up of many parts inside. I call them "kintypes" but they were former members of the system who collectively merged to form Astri as a whole. I'll probably never list these kintypes or the individual identities of the former system members who dissolved to form me, but I will probably talk about them from time to time as they are still aspects of my identity. I may use "fictive" and "factive" and "kintype" almost interchangeably depending on the context, or as needed to get my point across. As a minor disclaimer, we've been poking around otherkin and therian spaces since the early 2000s, I'm open to fair discussion about how I use these terms for myself but I won't take kindly to simple bullying.

I struggle sometimes with various aspects of my identity, but I think this is a symptom of being a deeply introspective person and often at odds with simple acceptance of my existence. That, along with sharing things I like, is probably going to be the thing I talk about the most.

My Twin in the system is Aprys, she makes up another "half" of me. Me and her feel both as separate individuals, but as the same soul, if that makes sense. She has her own blog as well. (They're all sideblogs tbh.) As of me writing this, me and her take the main responsibility in the system as frequent fronters, "hosts" if you will. Where she is made up, in a similar way, of a bunch of former system members who merged together. But seeing as she's an important other half of me, I feel like I must mention her here.

As I said before, I fancy myself a jack of the arts. I like to make things, creation of art is truly one of the best things about being a human being. And I define art broadly, from visual and musical to literary and performance. I think it's important to have a really loose understanding of what can be considered art, for the sake of art and human existence itself. And yes "low class" art is still art, the smutty fanfics, the sexy parodies, all of it, don't make me spell it out for you, please.

Personally, while I enjoy doing visual arts, I'm more interested in reading and writing literary arts myself, as well as making music. (I WILL get my hands on a Hurdy Gurdy someday.)

That said, I'm an avid enjoyer of art others make, and I can't limit myself. Think of the things I reblog here as a curated museum collection of things I personally feel like are worth sharing to whatever audience sees them. (They may get initially reblogged untagged, but I plan to keep things sort of organized at least, for the sake of the gallery.)

Things I probably will talk about much less, or at least only mention when its relevant, I am trans and I am gay (in that no matter who I'm into or who's into me its gay, end of story.)

I also consider myself a satanist, but I'm not sure how much I will talk about this. The deep religious and esoteric shit is more Aprys's thing and I'm along for the ride without much protest. Still I'll mention it, because I do have a literary and psychological interest in religion and probably will talk about it more under that lens here. I'll still provide my "satanic disclaimer" at the bottom of this post.

charmed reboot s2 rant below the cut!

so I finished the first season of charmed reboot, started season 2, and got so upset half way through I started typing a rant about the changes that got too long I deleted it. but now a couple hours later I’m still just So Upset I have to type it out. I’m not watching the second season because the changes are too great. the new showrunners really did press reset on the show wow. I’m gonna miss lucy, niko, and parker. they really stripped maggie & mel both of their powers and their main supporting characters didn’t they? cause really niko and lucy don’t seem like they’ll be coming back since they’re attached to the old setting, and it’s a longshot if jada and parker will return from wherever they each went in s1 now that the new showrunners are changing everything. 

I don’t mind hacy, but as a non-shipper from s1, the fact that they are suddenly shoved in our face with sexual tension and dreams despite the fact that 3 weeks ago in canon macy lost the man she loved, really just confuses me and turns me off? i would have preferred a slow burn for them, since I really didn’t see much (if any?) indication that these two would become a Thing until that last episode of s1. like I know they had sentimental moments, but harry had sentimental moments with all the sisters. and when the show tipped over to macy/galvin come the second half of the season, i followed along with them. in fact, coming into watching this show I knew people shipped harry/macy and was prepared to see a lot of them in s1, but was thoroughly surprised at how little I got from the pairing (personally I got more from harry/maggie dynamic), that when they seemed to hint that harry had feelings for macy in the last episode, I was surprised. they really leaned into macy/gavin and harry/charity in s1, that now that they’re leaning hard and heavy into harry/macy right off the bat in s2, I’m just a little blindsided by it. I’m okay with the ship, I just don’t like that they seem to be leading the way with the plots this season, that this dynamic in particular is so big in the show already given that there seemed to be little lead up as to why it is that way. 

I also hate that maggie’s not in school - we saw her struggle with that decision in s1 before deciding to become a pysch major, and now because they’re moved to seattle she’s just like nah, no school just gonna be a receptionist to carry my weight? ugh. I hate that! I hate that all her plots from s1 are basically gone come s2 (her empathy abilities, her relationship with lucy & kappa, her confusion over pursuing school, her love for parker). I hate how this random assassin has moved their lives entirely, and I hate that they used that to move them from their home, because when they inevitably defeat this foe at the end of the season and can come out of hiding, we all know they won’t be returning to hilltowne. 

also, how are these girls supposed to protect all witches if only 1 of them have their powers? I know they’ll get their powers back eventually ofc (tho I hope it’s the same powers they had in s1 and not new ones - that’d just be another thing completely changing for no real reason other than that the new writers want CHANGE! so bad they’ll literally take away the powers the characters spent a whole season learning to channel)  but I’m not a fan of maggie & mel being totally helpless while macy retains her demon abilities (new abilities tbh? we never saw her burn shit before, the most her demon abilities did before was evil sight, give her a new language, and gave her access to dark spells - nothing as active as what she’s got s2). in s1 I felt macy kinda Took Charge the most and had the most active power and thus was the one most involved in the fights/wins (mel’s time stopping was great but not Huge in action scene potential, really macy took the lead there). Now it’s just even more blatant that the girls can’t do anything without macy, and I don’t like that. 

I’m just thoroughly upset of the new direction of the snow. I know the first season was fast, plots were resolved within 2-3 episodes and it was a lil cheesy, but I enjoyed it. it was light, and fun, and when a plot came around that I didn’t much care for (harry’s son, for instance), I knew they wouldn’t drag on, which I appreciated. I also really really enjoyed their array of supporting characters. lucy was a standout - everytime she came on the screen you knew fun things were going to happen, her dialogue alone being enjoyable. niko felt important, the whole rewriting history storyline was emotional, and her relationship with mel felt soulmate-y, and I hate that we didn’t get a proper resolution to the end of their relationship (literally what was that? niko woke up from her coma with all her memories right? she clearly still had feelings for mel, and she was aware mel was a witch now - a secret that was drifting them apart now revealed. by all measures they should have been moving closer together following these revelations to niko, instead mel just gave her a wave goodbye (niko still wearing her magic-resistant ring), and disappeared? and niko’s just cool with that??? especially since everyone beilives they all died, niko’s a pi who is aware of the dangers of being a witch for mel - surely she must not believe she’s dead right??). parker was maggie’s first love, their love akin to that of star-crossed lovers, what with him being  a demon and her a witch, and how much they fought for each other. their relationship was essential to the overarching plot in s1, and at the end of s2 it’s v v clear they still very much love each other despite parker’s need to gain control over his new full demonness. tho he promised to return when he regained control, I’m nervous with the new showrunners, they won’t bring him back, and if they do, it’ll be in a love triangle fashion he might lose with the introduction of jordan as maggie’s new li  (I feel like it’d be just like the new runners to prefer their own li over someone leftover from s1, despite how much that s1 li developed as his own character and came to be important in an “I’ll always love you” way to to maggie).

I’m just upset over all these new changes, and I’m not a fan of them in the slightest. I’m feeling the same way as this reviewer here for the most part, and I’m just not happy about it, because I thoroughly enjoyed season 1, and was excited at the possibilities moving into s2 with the charmed ones leading supernatural forces far and wide (especially excited to see new pixies since chloe was so cute) in hilltowne, I normally don’t have any problems with dark shows, but with such drastic changes all the way through, not just in tone, but in setting and relationship dynamics as well, I just have little to no appeal in watching anymore. anyways, I had to get this down and share bc I’ve been binging this show these last few days and getting so into the relationships and characters, and was so excited to watch s2, that being so thoroughly disappointed and shocked come watching s2 just really surprised me and I wasn’t prepared for it, so I had to rant

there was a few things i missed and got wrong on my homestuck liveblog yesterday. first of all, i mistook terezi with kanaya with that morallegiance chat with vriska. makes sense, they used to be roleplay buddies until that mess of an incident. not taking away vriska's responsibility from that clusterfuck but, wonder how much of it is doc scratch influence. good god girl, why are you gambling with a literal god? also WHY rose is trusting that white ball asshole? i dont like him at all. he's basically responsible to a lot of the mess the trolls and beta kids is going through.

anyway, at the last page i left off, terezi and vriska's attitude towards each other is largely shown in the boy-off with dave and john. with karkat screaming in the background (he always screams in the background). so its easy to miss that theyre very much in a weird complicated, frenemy state with each other. that in between space where you're not sure if theyre genuinely fucking hates each other or theyre ribbing on each other like two meanspirited friends do. i've been there sister, i've been there.

speaking of vriska (again, because she is my child who has every disease), oh her relationship/friendship with tavros is very conflicted and, i dare say, delicious? this is something that im sure would hit even harder if tavros wasnt relegated to the butt of ableist jokes more than he's treated as a character but. trust me. imagine youre tavros. your friend(?) is vriska. she crippled you, she saved your life, she berates you at every turn, she kissed you. deep down she only wants best for you. she wanted you to kill her. she wanted you to hate her enough to do it. she doesnt want to bleed to death alone. she's begging you to kill her. she's could have forced you to do it but she doesnt. because this is for you both to grow stronger and survive. thats all she wanted all along. for you both to thrive in a world that eats you alive. she needs you to kill her. oh god *head in hands*

-so its really really sad to see vriska being so lonely after killing tavros. she dug a hole too deep to get out alone and the remaining friends she had that could have accepted her again are all dead or too burned out of her. i wish they both can meet each other again. just to talk and find closure. like, tavros deserves to be angry with vriska and he deserves to have that peace he always wanted from her. and vriska deserves to start being a better person and getting some peace of mind. she deserves a chance, is all im saying. like, its okay if tavros cant give it to her. but some of her friends could. maybe terezi? the worst they ever do to each other in terms of direct harm is the eye injury. or maybe karkat? oh god i dont want to hear them arguing, i would go deaf!

-at least vriska has john! its nice to see them being friends with each other. Tbh john has been a breath of fresh air (hehe) in all the doom and gloom. im not looking forward to him meeting his dead dad but right now, my boy is walking around the village with one of the finest music i heard so far. and then he drive a flying car with WV. its just, he is so positive and amidst a set of characters who lost all of their innocence, he remains as the one guy who tries to enjoy the game and take everything in stride. he felt smug when the salamanders keep referencing in his title, he bought everyone hats and snacks, he gave moral support to vriska. the harley and egbert family is so positive about everything and its so endearing!

-AND JADE! fuck yeah she's starting to show how awesome she is. YES JADE say fuck you to karkat! its been long overdue!!! she also should say fuck you to vriska too as a treat. and fuck you to tavros too. and fuck you to that prince of hope (more like doom lol) who blew up her computer. she deserve monetary compensation to deal with that troll polycruel.

-special mention to dave btw. i dont remember him doing anything particularly exciting lately but i believe he's the one carrying the team. john and jade had to do their quest to be effective in defeating the english demon guy (the brits are all demons lol) and rose had to be their prime researcher and strategist, so he basically did the save everyone's ass part. i cant wait to see him hang out with terezi. Also is it bad of me to want him go godtier? Like, it would be interesting.

-and other time aspect characters i want to appreciate, aradia! babygirl have finally get rid of her hopelessness and come back to life! and now she's bringing the gang back together!!! and putting the pieces on why gamzee suddenly breaks. too bad gamzee never had a chance to show his personality. anyway, im starting to think i was wrong about lil cal. like, i think it was posessed but oh no its just bro moving him around, but somehow that fucking puppet is the one wrapped up in literally everything. aradia finds that shitty doll and somehow its connected to gamzee losing it and the game sgurb and doc scratch and... whats going on????

-in conclusion, timebound kids are always the one carrying the team. they are hard to find but theyre the one who could determine how you win or lose the game.

-but how can i forget? kanaya! she came through. i really thought she was dead! but she is alive, and she kills people with a chainsaw than apply lipstick to her bloodstreak lips. she is trying so hard to be Hinged. final girl behavior fr. i wonder how she's going to meet rose again. i hope she talked rose out of that suicide mission.

-and can we talk about karkat? man, imagine leading an army of kids who did kill and maim each other before the game even starts. imagine being the lowest of the social hierarchy and trying to make the most toxic friendgroup filled with racists and murderers to listen to you. imagine being able to do that despite all the odds, bring them to victory, and have the price right on your hands only for it to be ripped away and your friends devolve into chaos and murder several hours later. its a failure of untold magnitude. no wonder he's so disturbed and angry at himself and everyone.

-okay now that im done with the characters. i want to compliment how good everyone looks. the art and the fashions are all sooo amazing. the talksprite is also wonderful. im inclined to change my pfp into feferi's talksprite because i like her design so much. also because hooray! She's just dead, not corrupted by horrorterrors. in my mind she is laughing at tavros and doomed dave rap battle while surrounded by beautiful scenery
