Y!Mochi: “Fine. If my darling were to ever find someone else…even though I know they wouldn’t. Grace Le Domas (Ready or Not)- my most recent one :) the dress is just a clusterfuck of materials but it keeps the vibe. u cant tell from the pic but the hair actually looks rlly close to her hair in the movie if i do say so myself, also i literally color stained her dress with dirty paint water HAHA

Amanda Young (Saw)- kinda skimpy on details but i think it looks like her pretty well idk. if i was good at crafting i would actually make a rbt but alas

Red (Us)- first doll outfit i tried to make from scratch and u can tell HAHA i think i redid the face like 3 times HAHA also i colored the hair with copious amounts of eyeshadow and hairspray lmfaooo. the coolest part imo are the scissors im actually surprised i found that online

Bent Neck Lady (Haunting of Hill House)- u cant tell but the body details are so cool to me it kinda follows the molded and torn pattern of all the hill house ghosts, not a fan of the face but it was when i was still doing more stylized faceups as opposed to trying to stick to more realistic lol

Stu Macher (Scream)- redid their face like 3 times and it still doesnt look like matthew lillard so it makes me angry to look at HAHA id probably like it better if i did better on the robe but oh well lmao

which isnt me trying to toot my own horn or anything, i just really have appreciated the encouragement over the past uh. year and a half? that everyone has given me? like theres been ups and downs, but i gained a lot of confidence and felt like trying new things and being more creative. so many of the silly things ive enjoyed doing to make you laugh have turned into very genuine moments of joy and tears. like i genuinely have appreciated everybody who's ever looked at my work and said something nice idk WHAT i would be doing without that. like idk where else i would ever have felt comfortable enough to turn something like "what if the turtles watched star trek" into "mikey comes out as genderfluid" without people being so fucking nice and willing to hear me out and let me be sincere.

i always feel like i havent actually done that much art, but then i look back and im like whoa. wait thats actually a lot. and comics? strips and otherwise? ive never done that before! it just happened cuz people started being kind about my ideas and now ive gotten so much better! ive mentioned this before, but like i hadnt done art in....years. we're talkin 5 year gap at least. not for lack of trying. but honestly i often feel very dejected about my abilities and compare my work to others often. feel too old to be as amateur as i am. but genuinely, its meant a lot to just spread joy about something i like regardless of how good or bad i ever think i am at it. truly theres just a level of sincere kindness to things i create now that idk if i ever would have found without how nice and open people are.

It looks like you've already entered the new year. I'm currently making my rounds to thank lovely creators such as you for their content giving me comfort and strength throughout this year.

The majority of this year has been difficult. But I could always count on your tumblr and twitter to get a small dose of comfort to feel better again and to try once more tackle things with your art and the big reblogs and retweets. But especially your art and artstyle and attention to detail has a small space in my heart. Years ago I've tried to become an artist myself and I've always remained traditional in this times. I was forced and pressured out of drawing and just picking up a pencil now fills me with frustration... but your art especially all your traditional stuff helps me finally making peace with my past. I might have never become the artist I wanted to be but I've tried, and seeing someone still tackling art traditionally is very comforting in this age were everyone went digital...

Awww anon this ask warms my heart 🥺💖 I'm so happy i was able to give you some comfort through my art. Truthfully i was also struggling irl last year but drawing and immersing myself with fandom activities cheered me up and gave me strength to move on, so we're in similar condition!

I'm also happy that my traditional art helps you feel better because actually for the longest time i also felt insecure about my traditional art, i thought my art would be way better if i could make more digital drawings. i posted about it here before and the responses quickly changed my mind (if you followed me you might have seen it, but i just want to point out that many people are supportive of traditional art! Sharing here for other people too in case they also feel discouraged im not tooting my own horn i swear)

our first sight of sprite in modern era being her clearly trying to hook up with a guy but the moment he touches her the illusion breaks and she has to go - i cannot believe the pain of living for MILLENNIA in a child’s body she never got to do human things like romance or puberty or whatever

when they first go to earth sersi looks to ajak AND THEN IKARIS for reassurance/permission before going to make contact with the human kid 

watching sprite’s London convo with sersi knowing that she’s in love w ikaris and jealous of sersi hits different. she told sersi to move in with dane. it could be sweet, it could be a ploy to push sersi and ikaris further apart, it could be both bc family relationships are difficult like that and sprite clearly loves sersi even though she’s ‘always envied’ her

sersi TURNED THE GROUND INTO QUICKSAND to fight a deviant this is a big deal to me because i wrote a ton of speculation fic based on the trailers before the movie came out and i had her do exactly the same thing in a fight scene - not to toot my own horn but im impressed at how much i managed to extrapolate correctly just from the teasers

i CAN ACTUALLY TELL WHAT MAKKARI IS SAYING OH MY GOD I COULDN’T TELL THE FIRST TIME BECAUSE I WAS WATCHING A SHITTY PIRATED VERSION THAT DIDN’T SUBTITLE HER SIGNING

makkari’s last line is ‘the truth will set them free’. this is a bible verse. i don’t know if it’s intentional but they’re quoting jesus

sersi is such a jesus character to me. treats sprite and ikaris with love even though they hurt her massively

sprite is one of the most storytellers actually (gilgamesh did all these epic things. one day you and your people will sail around the world and make your own legends!)

how does ikaris know how to woo. did he watch the humans and learn from them? 

related: i think it’s super cute how he just. makes his regard for sersi clear by following her around everywhere like a puppy

thenamesh are just clintasha 2.0 (though to be fair it is fanon clintasha. but the him trying to stop her from attacking everyone and loving and protecting her even though she’s clearly unstable? screams clintasha)

i was so touched by sprite helping thena break out of the flashback by showing her illusions of her past like it works SO well

they should all have just stayed together. kingo was right. they should all have stayed together. they hurt each other but they also know how to help each other

touched by kingo’s loyalty to ikaris. man respected and loved his leader so much

also ‘i like watching him too’??? kingo darling sprite’s not the only one in love w ikaris

why is everyone in love with ikaris really if he betrayed them in the end

‘are you going to charm me or threaten me’? that’s probably why. he’s a leader. he’s the strongest one. he knows how to be charismatic and how to be firm, keep the peace, et cetera. half of them love him and the other half are wary of, even maybe jealous of him

it’s really interesting to me how druig listens to and respects sersi even though he hates ikaris’ guts. he obviously doesn’t see them as a unit. 

in fact everyone’s feelings towards each other are really intriguing i should chart a family tree but instead of ‘birthed’ and ‘married’ lines its ‘loves’ ‘hates’ ‘envies’ etc

the way sersi whisper shouts at ikaris and tries to pull him away they were both staring at jack and phastos but she knows it’s rude he doesn’t he’s just staring openly until she reminds him

related: i’m sure they said a lot of things they didn’t mean especially phastos. ‘i’ve always wanted to clip your wings, ikaris’ doesn’t mean he actively hated ikaris the entire time. it’s just like you know when you find out someone did something shitty and your reflex response is to go ‘i ALWAYS KNEW YOU WERE THAT KIND OF PERSON! YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THIS KIND OF PERSON!’ because memory bias you remember the shitty things more than the good things. same with ‘you did always underestimate [sersi]’. did ikaris really?? or did he live and fight with and watch and love her for five thousand years and conclude, like the rest of the others, like sersi herself, that sersi’s powers only go so far? her powers didn’t begin changing until she was selected as prime eternal. if ikaris underestimated sersi so did everyone including sersi herself.

my take on why ikaris did what he did - he wanted to believe that his previous actions were justified/had a purpose. he lied to everyone, he left his wife, he told no one the truth for years because ajak had him convinced that his life’s purpose was to serve the mission. and then ajak calls off the mission at the last moment. he didn’t want to believe that he had hurt other people, had hurt himself, for no reason. he couldn’t accept that his suffering was for nothing. he had to go through with the emergence because otherwise none of it mattered. and he couldn’t deal with that. ikaris i can tell isn’t good at dealing with the fact that he makes mistakes. he told sersi he was sorry and then flew headfirst into the sun. he smacks of eldest child syndrome AND gifted kid depression. 

ok for real this is the last bullet point. the writing was questionable. the editing was bad. the characters weren’t given enough establishing time - it was a bad idea to do such a huge story in movie format (it should have been a tv show). that said the actors put their whole actussy into this and you can tell chloe zhao tried her utmost best. it’s not a great movie but i still love it because i love this huge unconventional, complex family

Hmmm...underrated, good insight and outside ccs are three different criteria, so these recommendations may not fit all three of those for every single one, but I’ll try my best! And my definition of “lore stream” is gonna be a little loose here, since that term wasn’t as well-defined in the earlier days.

They end up getting into a debate about L’manburg, and if you were ever unclear about what Dream’s motivations/justifications were, here they are! Which ends up being some interesting set-up for the election arc, which tackled the issue of L’manburg being European-exclusive as a major point. It’s a great debate (even if Skeppy ended up taking back everything he said the next day)

This one’s a good one for insight, and it’s extremely underrated by nature of being way too damn difficult to find (oh Tubbo VODs channel, how you cause me such pain). This is directly after Tommy’s exile and the Mexican L’manburg Revolution and features a very interesting conversation between Dream, Tubbo and Ghostbur in New L’manburg! This is the stream where Ghostbur gives Tubbo the Your Tommy compass, and Tubbo and Dream have their chess game.

Now, if you want some real heart-wrenchers from the beginning of Season Two, I cannot recommend this arc enough. It is wayyyyyy too underrated and has some of my favorite moments from the entirety of the season.

First up, towards the beginning of the arc, with an interesting conversation between Fundy and Jack Manifold about how he feels concerning the recent appearance of Ghostbur, and his feelings about Wilbur’s death.

Then you’ve got Wilbur’s stream as Ghostbur building in L’manburg. He ends up talking with Phil, asking about how he was in the past.

And then…oh man. This one hurts my heart more than any other. One of my favorites in terms of acting. If you want canon family dynamic drama, if you want Ghostbur and Fundy showing their characters’ mindsets at full swing, if you want Angst and good acting, here ya go.

i also say some nice things about the master and the doctor and their different ways of like, moving through the world i think:

She nods slowly and looks at him apologetically. “I had to try.”

He meets her eyes. “Thank you,” he says. “Thank you for trying.”

She gives him a little wave and the locks on the door beep when they close behind him.

When the Doctor walks in a few days later with his newest pet and asks for her help, Missy gives it readily. When he tells her she did it wrong, she disagrees. When he tells her she hasn’t changed, she wants to point at the trembling heap of still points that somehow are supposed to make up the trajectory of her lives and she wants to ask ‘what do you call this? am I not change incarnate? isn’t it you who is stuck? isn’t it you who is static?’.

When he tells her there’s no hope for her, she knows, and she tells him that just because there is no hope, doesn’t mean there is no point. That just because you’re in the same place as before, doesn’t mean there is no progression, no evolution, no gradual unfolding. She tells him that you can’t lay her out flat and linear because she’s circular and cyclical. That just because his way of growing involves death and loss and leaving behind, doesn’t mean her way of coming back and repeating, of never losing never dying, involves no growth at all.

im just really proud of this fic. also that 'thank you for trying', the master saying that to missy, and then missy saying it to the doctor in the finale? Nice

‘Feels Like Loneliness’ - Thomas Thomas has a girl in his head who he can’t forget, but can’t quiet remember, either. Though, he’s pretty sure she’s dead. Aris has a friend who he’s absolutely determined to save upon escaping the WCKD facility, and Thomas gets a shock. Love is a little tricky when you can barely remember who you are, in a world set out to kill you, though..

‘Special Delivery’ - Dylan O’Brien This is just a sweet little fic written for his birthday this year, but if you’re looking for something equally smutty and fluffy, then this is your calling.

‘French Class’ - Stiles Stilinski This fic is just one that seems to be a fan-favourite. Stiles makes a few comments while jealous about other girls that irk you, so you decide to make sure that you’re the only one he’s thinking about.

‘Roses and Wine’ - Stuart Twombly Misunderstandings and miscommunications make for the perfect Valentines Day, right? It’s just cute and awkward, with a mix of some very steamy smut and the kind of fluff that makes you squeal a little bit. I promise.

‘Daffodils’ - Thomas No smut in this one, but it’s a really emotional one, so if you’re looking for something angsty then I would highly recommend this fic, it’s one of my personal favourites.

‘Shape Of You’ - Stripper!Thomas A bit of an ego boost in this one, and to be honest, I love it. It’s just filthy, with a whole bunch of feelings thrown into the mix, (but mostly just sin) so it’s always one that I’d recommend.

‘Pool Parties’ - Dave Hodgman Dave brings home a friend from college, and Simon and Big C are absolutely convinced that they’re more than just friends. Maybe a little flirting and some pool parties will help them along..

‘Anti-Valentine’ - Mitch Rapp Mitch doesn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. Neither do you. Seems a bit ridiculous to you both, and neither of you is really all that romantic. Except when you’re together, and then, you just so happen to be hearts of pure fluff.

‘Below The Surface’ - 1920s!Sam Taylor The 1920′s bring about a lot of changes for Sam, and he's pretty happy with most of them, but some of them, he’s just not willing to accept. Like society trying to put out the flame of one of the most fiery women he’s ever met. He’s going to change that.

‘Like Silk’ - Sam Taylor You have a charity gala event tonight. Sam really likes the dress you’re planning to wear. He wasn’t planning on attending, but now he thinks he’s going to have to, because he needs to make sure nobody else is making a move on his girl when she looks that good.

‘What Happens In Vegas’ - Stilinski Triplets I wrote this as a little birthday ditty to myself this year, hence why it’s a little Thomas-biased at the end, but it’s epic, you can’t not love it, not when all three boys are in it!

‘Learning To Share’ - Stilinski Triplets, & Mitch, & Dylan This one gets wild, and I’m pretty sure if you asked around, this would be what my blog is known for. The first two parts are pure smut, there’s literally nothing else to them, and the third part is longer. It’s very sinful, with a good helping of emotions, too.

He was supposed to experiment on her, magic and potions and whatever poisons he’s got, he certainly wasn’t supposed to fall in love with her.
