FC: consistency and drive. No brand is too small for me. I took every job that was offered to me and saw it as experience, even now I try to also work with smaller less know designers. Your never have enough knowledge so be consistent in learning.

DC: Who’s your fashion role model?

FC: Obviously our mums!

DC: Our mothers are real fashionistas.

FC: it’s crazy! My mum dresses to impress for any occasion doesn’t matter what it is and your mum just looks like she never makes efforts but looks stunning.

DC: They out dressed us at our wedding to be honest.

FC: Yeah, they just know what looks good on them. My love for clothes and dressing up came from mum since a young age. I’d always sneak into her wardrobe wearing all her clothes and she loved watching me being creative with it. She was super supportive.

DC: You have a lot of model friends who are successful designers, what have you learned from them?

FC: that I prefer wearing the clothes then making them… I don’t know, the process of designing is so personal and intricate I don’t think I could do it. It’s like how you are with music, I’d get so attach and separating myself from my designs for someone else to wear, I’d find it difficult.

DC: being a creative is hard.

FC: super.

DC: Your always busy, what do you do to wind down?

FC: I think my ideal chill time would be snuggling with you in bed with a glass of wine watching Love is blind.

DC: don’t expose me.

FC: haha, the faces you make every time something unhinged happens is my happiness. Your always at the end of your seat to know what happens next.

DC: it’s crazy how addicted I am to that show, I can’t get enough!

luffy!!!

actually starting off very strong. i like that it's just a natural evolution of his og design but with some extra flourishes to show that he's matured w/ the scar on display. the cardigan is very cute and i like that they went with yellow for the sash for the tie-in to his ASL color. mwah. 10/10 no notes. oda cooked.

another one that i mostly really like. zoro is the most heavily japanese-coded of the strawhats it makes sense to lean more heavily into it with the cut of his coat and keeping his haramaki given how much wano-focus the second half of one piece has. i'm not gonna lie i think his silhoutte pre-timeskip was much cleaner and for a character like zoro i think simpler works better, but also.....i can see his tits out now......there are definitely things i liked about his pre-timeskip deisgn better but i still like this one nonetheless. and also i know his fit changes later so 8/10

oh boy......well i will start with the positives. i actually do like the long hair. i don't like it better than her shag/cute pig tails but i do think it looks nice and i like the waves. i also like the jeans with the big fuck off heels because they scream 2011 to me <3 the bikini top is.....look if it was just a cute hanging out look i would love it i'm from california i know plenty of people who rock that look regularly but im sorry that combined with her going from like a b-cup to an e is deeply aggravating for reasons that have been discussed by plenty of other people. let her go back to her cute cotton t-shirts or her thriller bark sweaters. 6/10

my boy is jacked now!!!! good for him!!!! another kind of mixed bag. i like the colors but the design of the overalls feels a little busy to me personally. i love his hair being grown out but i miss the goggles being on top and i feel like you need to pick one or the other with the hat, again it's a little too busy between the hat and the goggles and the earphones. but there's nothing i actively dislike here i think it just needs a little fine-tuning 7/10

i'm going to keep it real with yall until oda said something in the SBS i thought the gag was that sanji's design hadn't changed at all 😭😭😭. also im actively having to suffer through his fishman island story-arc but there really isn't much for me to comment on. his facial hair hits the line-cook vibe im deeply surprised he can grow it and the suit is still a good design choice. nothing was gained and nothing was lost. so 8/10 i guess???

i know people have strong feelings about the kawaii-ification of chopper's design but i can't hate it because it's him and i love him to much. i do think it was a huge missed opportunity not to age him up a little because it's a little silly that he looks younger now than he did in drum island but as for the actual design itself it's not bad. i miss the style of his jamiroquai hat, but i like the fact that he wears cute little shirts now. 7/10

SIGHHHHHH. i miss her bangs...i miss her melanin...i miss her goth swag. look this is mainly such a hit for me because 1) i saw all of oda's sketches and literally every other design he had for robin was better than the one he ended up going with. 2) between her alabasta, water 7/enies lobby, and thriller bark fits she reigned supreme among the fashionistas her drip was unparalleled. there isn't anything in her new design that screams robin to me. like if she was wearing the tied-up shirt with some capris i can see something but i don't know if this whole beachy look was because of fishman island or what but i just.....i'm not a fan. like they even could have tied in some of the aesthetics of the rest of the revolutionaries but this feels like just straight fanservice ove character design and im really not a fan. thankfully her dressrosa fit is completely gamechanging but that's not what we're ranking. im sorry queen. 3/10

franky onepiece im so sorry but.....i really don't like this. his pre-timeskip design fucked SO HARD. the elvis motif. the speedo and hawaiian shirts. it was so silly and so memorable and i miss it!!!! i know he's trying to work the timeskip into the design like i just suggested he should have done with robin but it's just....it's a lot. feel like the gag would have been funnier if franky looks mostly the same and his body can just do all the stuff it can do now but what do i know. i do like the bit of his hairstyle changing every arc that's cute. 1/10

ugh now im thinking about how the new show like ... sort of removed clawdeen's blackness. like i'm glad she's still not white, oh my god i would have lost my mind. but at the same time it feels like a weird choice to change her as dramatically as they did. like draculaura is still miss perfect while being an absolute sweetheart; and frankie is still a newbie who's prone to mess ups. but clawdeen is....not clawdeen??? She's not miss fashionista with a bite who's a protective big sister anymore. it just feels ... weird. idk. (also the whole thing where in reboots the black characters suddenly become biracial feels weird in a way i don't know how to explain.) i'm not black so like, idk if this is just me comparing new clawdeen to old clawdeen & therefore i am only noticing the lack of 'blackcent'; but then there's also the fact that her g3 doll is lighter skinned than g1, g1 cgi animation is darker than g3 cgi animation; and box art g1 is darker than g3 box art, and her hair is lighter color. Also if they end up making her and deuce a thing then they're actively ignoring that the creator basically said she's a lesbian; and that's....something.

also, the way that draculaura is biracial is sort of weird if only because it constantly feels forced. Dracula was romanian. and original draculaura was romanian. and now she's asian. it just feels like a strange choice? Espically when there are plenty of other characters with unspecified backgrounds / uncertain backgrounds (twyla, Ghoulia, Toralei, spectra, Purrsephone and Meowlody, etc). but espically removing any hint of an accent from draculaura & making her dracula's bio daughter feel like the weirdest choices. It's like, completely removing the entire point of her character. She was prosecuted, a plague survivor, and they got rid of that. I hope they at least like, say she's half-romanian and half-asian. That would honestly satisfy me that way; but it doesn't look like they will.

I like the choice to change lagoona from austrailian into latina as a nod to the creature from the black lagoon which was in the amazon rainforest. It's a neat nod. I do wish we had another austrailian character though just to fill that hole. maybe they'll do it with gil? idk i miss gil lol

anyway, my tl;dr is that some choices make sense. other parts just feel....weirdly forced. and im tired lol

I ended up buying the barbie i was eying off at my local big w. turns out she’s actually not a fashionista, she’s a career barbie so. sorry for misleading you guys lol. She’s the interior design barbie, or, as i call her, prosthetic leg barbie. She’s the only modern barbie’s ive ever purchased, and second only playline barbie i’ve ever got new. Interestingly, or not, prosthetic leg barbie is almost always the last doll standing everywhere i’ve been to that sells barbies, which is what prompted me to commit and buy her. I like to root for the underdog.

As far as the doll herself, she’s really cute! This doll is no exception. Her pink dress had no shape, and was boring and ugly. But I did like her little houndstooth david jones jacket and pink slip ons. okay moving down the stairs we see a wonderful chandelier that looks very dangerous if it were to fall on you and a really nice lamp!! and a better look at the stained glass windows. i can’t express enough how much i love those windows. WHO did he go to to get these done. i wonder what part of albuquerque this house is in. whatever their equivalent of the hills is probably. im also tickled by the incredible contrast between this house and what we see of chuck’s house in its original pre-ehs form, which is a VERY different style of rich decadence. a much more tasteful style. both are beautiful <3

we also get this closer look at the painting this guy was taking down the stairs which again if anyone could identify would be nice. i want to say its the sandias mountains? (EDIT: this is the painting above kim & jimmys couch. duh!) right after this shot a woman wheels away yet another statue. and i also love that in the background you can see a candelabra with fake electric candles in it. after all this you didn’t want to spring for real candles in your candelabra? really?

then of course his INDOOR POOL with genuinely some of the most beautiful windows i’ve ever seen. guys saul has really good taste i swear. i swear!! anyway he has a cardboard cutout of himself. that he apparently kept in his pool area??? for what purpose i can’t say.

If Heart Ache was in The Fashionista Caper 

[Author’s Note: Heck yeah, should have gotten to this sooner. Also this is really heckin angsty so enjoy]

     All the models were okay and the outfits should be at the van with Zack, Ivy, and Julia. Walking with Carmen back to the van ShadowSan couldn’t help but think that something was wrong, as if there was a missing space. When they made it to the van it clicked. 

Three people tied up inside and a figure who sat on top filing her nails. “My, my,” she jumped off with a swift landing. “You stole the show. It makes me jealous.” 

It was unnerving to see the girl that used to treat Carmen like a little sister, who would pick her up and spin her around, sing to her when she trouble falling asleep, and acted as a shoulder to cry on along with Crackle when she didn’t pass ShadowSan’s final was now looking at her with eyes full of malice. 

“HeartAche! Are you really going to kill three people because of a few dresses?” Carmen knew she would too. When it came to violence she never held back, no matter the reason. That’s why you don’t ask Neal about the teeth marks he has on his lower arm. Homegirl is feral. With her fists clenched she let out a growl. “It’s not about some dumb pieces of historic cloth!” ShadowSan and Carmen stepped back, an unstable HeartAche is a dangerous one. “It’s about YOU leaving ME like everyone else!” She took one of the many hair sticks out of her messy bun and pointed it towards the duo. “I’m no longer good enough for Cleo, Tigress decided to date that girl, and Thunderbird is too busy with his mute boyfriend!” She let out another growl, teeth clenched, the hair stick had pink sparks coming from the tip. “I. Hate. You!” She charged towards Carmen, causing her to grab the woman’s wrist and twist her arm.

A swift kick to the stomach made Carmen stumble back but she was on her feet in a matter of seconds. No matter how strong HeartAche was she couldn’t possibly take the infamous Carmen Sandiego and an ex faculty member. 

The fight was aimless repetition with petty damage and close calls on both sides. 

“Ugh!” She was thrown against the wall by her ex instructor. HeartAche leaned against the wall, holding her head with her free hand. 

The duo took that opportunity to run to the van and escape the girl’s terror yet her hand reached out and grabbed ShadowSan’s wrist in a tight grasp. “Fine. I’ll accept fail with grace this time but…” She looked up at his irritated features. “At least give me that hat.” He yanked his hand away and Carmen spared her one last glance before tossing Dash’s hat down next to where she kneeled. 

“You took a while, I was starting to worry.” HeartAche closed the passenger’s seat door. It was instant that he knew something was wrong. Was she…crying? “I got your hat, sugar boo.” Despite showing it to him she didn’t have the intent of giving it back as she hugged it closer to her chest. 

“Did…Did something happen, dear? You have that look on your face.” Dash asked with apprehension as his girlfriend slumped back in her chair, tenderly rubbing the back of her head. 

HeartAche smiled tiredly. “Tonight’s caper wasn’t up to my standards is all.”

Brian May a nerdy boy with no sense of fashion whatsoever and piss poor eyesight with big thick glasses on his face and his braces made it hard for him to talk. Then there was Roger a goddamn trend setter and fashionista nothing was wrong with him he's perfect, Brian squinted at what Roger was wearing today.

Damn he looked so hot, Brian fidgets and looks down at what he's wearing. Pinstripe black shirt and purple and green poke-a-dot sweat pants, with pink and yellow shoes. He frowns and looks away from Roger, the boy was crushing hard on the blond. He heart raced thinking about him, he nearly faints when Roger walks over to him a few girls trailing behind him, "Brian, right?"

Brian felt his face heating up and he presses his binder against his chest, ''Y-Yes."

''Look I need your help."

"H-Help?'' Brian asks.

"Yes, help! Are you dense or something?"

Freddie comes up and puts a hand on Brian's shoulder with the heels he's got on he's towering over Roger, "Why don't you scram, Taylor. I don't need you to be a bully to my friend."

Brian saw Roger's face flicker through a range of emotions before turning red and balling his fists up, "I don't even want your boyfriend! I just need some help with maths."

Freddie and Brian look both confused, "I never mentioned he was my boyfriend. Im dating Jim-"

Roger shoves a crumpled twenty into Brian's shirt his face seemingly burning red, "Just meet me at my house." he scribbles something on Brian's notebook and flees before you can say "the dolphin bit the human".

Freddie pats Brian's back, "Well looks like you have a date with the school heartthrob."

Brian wheezes and fans his face dropping his book into Freddie's arms, "O-Oh my god!!" another wheeze escapes his lips his blue braces catch the light for a moment, "R-Roger T-T-Taylor!!"

Freddie pats Brian's back nearly asking if he needs an inhaler before Brian fishes the twenty out of his shirt, "Y-You're in the fashion club, I need you to help me!! Please!!" another wheeze and he slumps into Freddie.

Freddie picks him up hearing the 8th period bell ring, "To the fashion department!"

Brian winces as Freddie forcefully brushes his hair out, "Look at you, Mr. May.'' Freddie said, "You're coming along quite fine."

Brian blushes and grins, "Really?"

Freddie nods, "Now time to ditch those windows you call glasses."

"Fred, I'm almost legally blind witho-"

Freddie plucks them off his face and grabs contacts, "Where did you even find contacts that strong?" Brian asks.

"Hush, you owe me later okay?"

Brian nods and lets Freddie put them in and finish his makeup, "Done! Take a look at yourself."

Brian gasps and twirls, "I look beautiful!" he hugs Freddie tightly, "Thank you! Thank you!"

"Told you I could try and work with your love of pinstripes."

Freddie touches up Brian's makeup and kisses his cheek, "Go get him tiger."

Brian races off out of the school and hurls himself over the gate. He races down the street he rereads the address so many times until its like a picture in his mind. He stops at a nice tiny ranch style home, he knocks on the door.

When Roger opens the door he didn't expect to see Brian looking like hottie off of a vogue magazine. He looks even more confused by the lack of glasses, "Come in." Roger holds the door open wider.

Brian walks in and takes off his shoes, "Nice place."

Roger nods, "Yeah.. Uh... Mom is at work and Clare's at a sleepover so we got the whole house to ourselves."

Brian blushes and grins making Roger's heart melt he looked so cute with his braces. Roger brings him upstairs into his room and kicks the door closed.

"So calculus right?" Brian asks flipping open his textbook.

Roger pauses watching how Brian looks now for some reason he disliked how Brian looked it wasn't him and Brian did seem uncomfortable, he messes with the shirt and yanks at his hair.

Roger and Brian did study and cram from the finals. It was growing late and Brian was getting sleepy, they were knee to knee now. Brian was blushing heavily, "Roger?"

"Hmm?"

Brian took a deep breath and kisses him knocking him against the headboard. Roger blushes darkly and kisses back he pulls away once they need air, "D-Did you change your look for me?"

Brian nods embarrassed, "Y-Yeah." he rubs his neck, "It seemed to work."

"I loved you since freshman year, Brimi." Roger confesses holding his hand.

"What?"

Roger kisses him, "Even if you dress like a outdated clown I love you."

Brian pouts, "Outdated clown?"

"I mean it's true." Roger laughs hugging him tight.

Brian keeps pouting, "Meanie head!"

"But seriously, Brian," he kisses his hands, "If you have to change your style and what your comfortable with to get a man. He isn't worth it. But I you no matter what. Clown fashion or not."

Brian kisses him and loves on him.

Roger giggles loving on him back, "Want me to make dinner?"

"Watcha making?" Brian asks taking off his jean jacket.

"Sweetcorn and vegan pesto wontons."

Brian beams, "How did you know?"

"I heard you and the Parsi Indian talking."

Brian giggles and follows Roger into the small kitchen. He helps Roger cook he takes off his shirt halfway through, "What are you doing?" Roger asks.

"It got to hot."

"So you're stripping in my mother's kitchen?"

Brian spins around, "Aren't I sexy."

Roger barely glances over, "Watch out for my nana's urn."

He heard a crash and looks over, "Goddamn it."

"Don't worry I'll hoover your nana off of the carpet."

Roger sighs and lets Brian do his thing as he got the food onto plates. Once nana's ashes were cleaned up the two ate the dinner Roger fixed up for them.

Once it reaches 11 Brian goes to leave.

"Do you still still love me?" Brian asks fiddling with his bag strap.

"Yeah, why? I don't care about my spilled nana."

Brian hugs him tightly and Roger kisses his cheek, "Let me walk you home."

Brian blushes as Roger held his hand. They walked the four blocks to Brian's house, they stood on Brian's porch. Brian held the house key in his hand, "Thank you."

"For what?" Roger asks.

"Everything."

Roger blushes and kisses him again, "Goodnight, baby bear. I'll pick you up in the morning."

He saw Brian melt at his words and he walked away with a love sick grin on his face.

first of all, david bowie and pearl would gush over each other’s wardrobes. and makeup. definitely. both have such a distinct style, and that’s part of the reason why i liken pearl to bowie. but also, bowie was known for his kindness, his optimism, and his stubbornness. pearl is indefinitely kind, and stands up for what she believes in, just like bowie.

john richard deacon is a sweetheart!! just like dor. but he’s also wildly unpredictable, and has the ability to shock you with a single sentence (brian’s words on the subject were not quite this, but i’m trying to be nice here). sometimes dor will message me something, and i will burst out laughing. she’s got a wicked sense of humour, just like our beloved deacy, and if anything happened to her, i’d throw everything out the window and then jump out of it myself.

if anyone’s freddie, it’s libby. libby’s got this charisma, exactly like freddie’s. and then i ask her to tell me her secret and she insists that there isn’t one. if that’s not a freddie mercury move, then i don’t know what is. not to mention, libby is so musically talented, it’s ridiculous. she’s iconic, and kind, and funny, and freddie would definitely take her shopping, because they’re just that alike.

oh, c’mon. have you ever seen george harrison smile? it’s like the sun. anna has the ability to brighten anyone’s day with a few words, and this is a quality which george harrison also has. anna’s a wonderful poet, and i’ve always thought of george as a wonderful lyricist. anna’s got style, too, and she’d fit right in during the height of the beatles’ career, in the 1960s.

listen, i love suzi quatro. so much. not only did she inspire bands like the runaways, joan jett in particular, with her revolutionary talent and pioneering as a woman in the music industry, but she’s also fucking awesome. back in the ‘70s, she was a symbol of girl power, and if morgan’s got anything, it’s girl power. also, if you’ve seen that one episode of pop quiz, you’ll know she and roger taylor got along well. and i know morgan likes roger taylor ;)

another queen of the 1970s rock scene was joan jett! also a pioneer in the male-dominated music industry, joan jett is known for not only for her music, but her hard-heartedness. the latter is not at all a bad thing, particularly in this world we live in; joan knew what she wanted, and she went out and got it. nat has that same spirit, and the same occasional savageness, which i can only admire.

considered one of the best guitarists in the world, even to this day, jimmy page is one hell of a creative soul, and was responsible for (or at least in part) a great deal of led zeppelin’s discography. a dedicated session musician, jimmy determined that there was a certain science to making music. rove strikes me as someone with this same dedication, so there you go!

rolling stone has called stevie nicks one of the greatest solo artists of all time, and while they may have written a shit and completely untrue review about queen, they were certainly right about stevie nicks. stevie nick’s lyrics, both on fleetwood mac records and on her own, have always been poetic, and lyrical, even without music. ellie absolutely writes just like this, and so that alone is enough to liken her to stevie nicks. stevie nicks was and is iconic, and in interviews, she was always very genuine, just like ellie.

emblematic of the glam rock era, janis joplin’s voice is one-of-a-kind, and her presence one of unmatchable warmth. genuine, thoughtful, intelligent, and revolutionary in terms of her rebelling against gender norms, janis joplin is perhaps one of my absolute favourite people of the glam rock generation. ro has the same genuineness, the same intelligence, and the same thoughtfulness, going out of her way for her friends, and thus, she reminds me very much of janis joplin.
