In which I, of all people, make a post in praise of a love triangle

I hate love triangles. I HATE THEM. They never make any sense to me - either it's an OTP and an interloper (in which case it's not a triangle, go away interloper) or I keep going "make up your damn mind" and "why should I be invested in one ship when you aren't."

But Lost You Forever proves that like any other tropes I am not too fond of (slice of life comes to mind), it's not that I hate the trope per se, it's just that it's almost never done in such a fashion as to satisfy me and when it is...oh boy!

Because the love triangle of Xiao Yao with Tushan Jing and Xiang Liu (sorry, Cang Xuan, I love you, and I am rabid about the fact that the ML of this is not the romantic interest, but you are not ever a contender) makes me RABID. The acting, the writing, the possibilities.

In the first season, I never felt that Xiao Yao was in any truly meaningful way considering Xiang Liu as a choice for any length of time (I don't mean it NEVER occurred to her, I just mean it was little flashes that disappeared quickly.) But in this season, she very much does.

Why do I, the obsessed Jing x XY shipper love it so? Because it so makes character sense.

The reason she largely never considered him in s1 was because by the time any such consideration could occur, she already allowed Shiqi in her heart. There are flashes of what-if and the sexual chemistry with XL is off the charts, but she is hopeful and happy with Jing, she's experiences the giddiness of first love and first mutually accepted desire with him. XL is a what-if but a not a particularly longed-for one, if it makes sense.

But in this season, Jing broke her heart (whether she should have that attitude is a separate question of course, but she does and so here we are.) Which means that XY, heartbroken over Jing, has a little space and here is where it all starts coming rushing in vis-a-vis XL.

I love this because this is so so so so human and so realistic. As I was mentioning to @aysekira - despite demanding unrealistic permanent constancy of her loved ones, despite needing them frozen in amber forever, XY herself is not like that because few people are and it's healthy actually and she's healing! (Yes, Jing is not like that but to me that is actually a sign of how broken he is. Separate tangent tho.) And so yes, it's so human to, after a relationship ended, mourn and grieve but also on some level open your heart to other possibilities.

I genuinely believe that if Xiang Liu allowed himself to be with her, she would move on from Jing and be happy and fall in love with XL fully and eventually Jing be merely a memory in the corner of her heart (pleasant or sad, depending.) Just as if/when she and Jing get back together, she will move on about XL and he will be a memory the same way.

And it doesn't cheapen her feelings or their feelings or anything. It's just life. We are the sum of our choices.

I hate hate hate the concept of fated soulmates, of one perfect soulmate destined by fate. That's lazy writing, that's a crutch when you can't narratively show WHY these characters should be together.

And this show gets that. It gets it so well.

She could have been happy with Jing. She could have been happy with XL. Maybe in some other universe she met someone else entirely and was happy with them. Alternatively, if she remained a spoiled and petted princess of Haoling, she'd have never looked at Jing and most likely never looked at XL and they may not have liked her either (look at Nian - you cannot imagine either of the men liking her.)

Just as if Jing was never tortured into near-dissolution of his self by his brother, he would have been a very different person and not capable of winning her heart or caring to, or if XL had a different life, same.

There are so many possibilities and paths and choices and the fact that the drama gets it is one of the best things about it.

We watch Xiao Yao heal and grow up (in a way, she's so emotionally stunted due to trauma, we are watching her going through her teen years in some ways - figuring out who she is and what and who she wants.) And I love that one of the ways she figures out who she wants is by looking at what kind of life she can have with that person.

Anyway, this drama is a MASTERPIECE.

Christmas snippets

You'll find very quickly that I'm unreliable and unmotivated. Anyways I've been sad lately bc of Christmas so heres some fluffy xmas stuffs.

Childe-

-gets lonely during christmas because it reminds him of his family.

Its not hard to find your lover around Christmas time. He's always in the same spot when he's alone.

You step out onto the porch of your shared home, shivering with the rush of cold air that now surrounds you. Childe looks up from where he's sitting, and smiles at you warmly.

"Hey," you say with a little smile of your own.

"Hey," he responds, patting his lap and motioning for you to sit. You make your way to him and settle in his lap, soaking in his warmth despite the cold weather.

"You're freezing already." He says and you snuggle into him more.

"So warm me up." You reply and turn to give him a kiss. You melt at the warmth of his mouth against yours, and when he slips his tongue just past your lips you savor the way it feels burning hot against yours.

"Will that do?" He murmurs when you part for air and you smile and nod your head.

"Thank you my love."

Xiao-

-hates cold weather, hes not usually around it so it hits him ten times harder than most people

-wears big coat, scarf and gloves when outside.

-is the kind of person that speed-walks in the cold so he can get to his location (aka warmth) faster.

-you guys spend most of your time inside tho.

-but he does like the sweets that revolve around Christmas.

-you guys do a lot of baking together.

-just imagine icing cookies with xiao and making little birds or something.

Theres a certain gleam to Xiao in the winter time. His cheeks turn a pretty shade of red and his eyes glow against the shimmering snow.

Though you aren't out often, considering Xiao's aversion to cold weather, when you were it was common to see him bundled up in a large coat and scarf.

"Xiao, you look so pretty today." You say quietly, gazing at him with a lovely smile.

His cheeks somehow warm to an even deeper shade of red and he looks away embarrassed.

"Thanks." He murmurs, though you barely hear it. He looks back to you after and furrows his brows.

"You look nice as well." He mumbles. He quickly takes your hand and starts to walk forward, you chasing right after him bouncing as you walk.

-So warm

-you stay attached to him at all times because of how warm he is

-you guys spend lots of time talking by the fire place or making hot coco.

-he holds your hand in his pocket and uses his vision to warm you up when outside.

-in addition he doesnt change his outfit in the cold weather. Looks exactly the same.

-sometimes you get worried so you make him wear a scarf

-but overall cozy holidays.

-he definitely falls asleep during Christmas movies though XD

"Diluc." You whisper. "Diluc, baby." You look over to him wondering why he hasn't answered, but of course hes already fast asleep.

You sigh and turn the movie playing off. You find a blanket and lay down next to him on the couch, covering both of you up in the process.

"Yes, diluc." You respond and he pulls you closer to him.

"What time is it?" He mumbles, still half asleep.

"Just past ten." He yawns as you answer.

Description: Losing your mind after seeing your beloved get hurt.

A/n: Sorry bby that it took so long <33 but i'm back and i hope ur okay since we haven't talked that much. Again forgive me sweetie <333 Its a little diff then you wanted but hope you enjoy.

The two of you were fending off a few enemies, they were coming at the two of you with blazing weapons. Your beloved was more than capable of defending and defeating at the same time but with dozens of these big enemies suddenly ambushing the two of you there was no way he could avoid all attacks. 

While you were defending yourself you suddenly heard a pained grunt and immediately you could smell blood. Turning back around you saw your beloved’s  pained expression and the purple cladded enemy who was raising its katana high above his head with its intention to strike down the person you loved. 

Feeling the blood throb in your temple, your breathing became labored and heavy while you began to experience tunnel vision becoming extremely focused on the two of them, so focused that you didn't hear the other mob of enemies around you. The rage you felt towards the lowly enemy that hurt your beloved was immense, it made you want to rip the enemy apart- so that's what you did.

Kazuha

Kazuha was your battle partner so he was grateful you defeated the enemy before he was struck down, but he sensed something was wrong with the way you acted. He could feel it in the way the winds were reacting. He could also see it in the way you were ripping the enemy apart with pure malicious intents. 

When the enemy was ripped apart with your bare fists, you stood still and turned around towards the other enemies. You muzzle was off and you were smirking so widely that your fangs were visible, your kimono was barely hanging onto your body. 

He was concerned of course, but firstly he let you do your thing with the other enemies until there were none left. But you didn't stop, you almost attacked Kazuha when he gripped your arm with a concerned expression. He had a bruising grip onto your shoulder because otherwise you had attacked Kazuha. There were only a few words he needed to say for you to relax and slump forward into his arms, he was glad that you were calmly in his arms again.

“It's okay, I'm okay. We are safe, I'm right here.”

Xiao

Before he could even react and easily defeat the worthless enemy in front of him, you had already kicked its head off. He was flabbergasted, shocked with the events that just took place in the span of 5 seconds. What he did not expect was for you to go on a rampage on the hilichurls and other insignificant enemies in the area. 

You were ripping anything apart that came into your vicinity. He was frowning, he knew many comrades that lost their lives while they went on a rampage because they lost control. He also knows what it's like to almost lose control, there were many times he was struggling but each time you were there to get him back.

This time it was his turn, his turn to get you back. He didn't want to lose you, there was no way. So he quickly teleported in front of you, luckily you recognized him and stopped your attacks. He could see the way you were struggling not to lose control. And when he placed his hand on your cheek so gently, you snapped out of it. 

“I will be the one to comfort you this time.”

Venti

It felt weird to him, he didn't understand why you suddenly went so ballistic on some stupid enemy that he could easily defeat. It felt insignificant to him that you would go as far as to take your anger out on the enemy for him. But you were so important to him that he didn't want to see you in distress.

Wrapping his arms around your waist, he pulled you snug against him with him laying his head in the crook of your neck. For someone who looked like a weak twink with his noodle-like limbs, he was quite strong as he was holding the struggling you tight against him.  

Blood was gathered over your body and there was some seeping out of your mouth, but you were still in a daze. There was pure rage in your eyes. Your body was getting tired and so you slumped in Venti’s arms. You and him sunk to the ground as he was still hugging you, just in case you would attack again. But after a while he just held you out of pure adoration.

“Let’s get you cleaned up alright?”

Aether

His usually blank face was replaced with a panicky one when he saw the crazed look in your eyes. He didn't know what to do so he stood there rooted to the ground. He was mostly worried for you, all kinds of thoughts running through his mind; What if he couldn't stop you? What if you were not saveable? What if you were gonna attack him next? What if?

All kinds of what if’s running through his mind, but when he saw the pain you were in he quickly looked around the area for anyone that could possibly be hurt by you. When he saw no one he first spoke to you in a calm voice that made you turn towards him. What he did not expect was you rushing towards him with your claws out. 

With his quick reflexes he was able to stop you from attacking him. He was panicking again, it was visible in the strain in his voice and his body language. He was now talking at a faster space to you, hoping you would snap out of it. His hold on your wrists were tight when suddenly he saw tears leaking out of your eyes and your posture finally relaxing. He could see the pain and regret in your eyes, but that was a problem for later he was gonna fix. 

“Don't feel guilty please, it's my fault not yours. I was supposed to stop you earlier on…”

Diluc

A heavy sigh left his mouth as he watched you run around killing all kinds of animals. Maybe he could just let you ruin those monsters so Mondstadt would be a little saver. Even if he truly wanted to let you do that, his body and heart wouldn't allow him. Especially not when you went batshit for him. For him.

He was used to being alone until you came into his life, he already knew that you were dangerous and a demon but he couldn't care less when it was you. It was you who loved him. It was you who understood him. It was you who was always there for him. It was you and no one else, it was you he was choosing. Even if the whole of Mondstadt burned down, his first priority would be you.

So with his heart, body and mind set on you, he cautiously approached you. He didn't want to frighten you nor did he want to fight you. You were ripping a Mitachurl apart when suddenly you were brought into a headlock. It was obvious that you were very tired and that your body couldn't handle much more so when the Mitachurl vanished into the wind and Diluc whispered into your ear to sleep, that's exactly what you did.

“I'll always be here for you, so sleep now….you deserve it.”

Scaramouche/WandererThe annoyed expression on his face did not waver one bit as he watched your maniac laughing. He wasn’t annoyed because of you, well yes but no. He was annoyed that this was happening to you. If he could take your demon side and ‘gift’ it to someone else he would do it in a heartbeat.

But he had to admit it was kind of satisfying seeing you take out all your anger on someone else for him. But he didnt want you staying on this crazy side for too long, so he opted to save you. Even if saving you tasted like acid in his mouth, because he didn't want to see in this state at all he of course as your partner knew that you hated hurting any creature.

So he would for once put aside his pride and take your health in his hands, and he would take care of you. But before he could do that he had to turn you back. When you were on your knees suckerpunching a monster into the ground he took that as the opportunity to knock you out, by simply chopping your neck at a specific angle. And when you fell limp to the ground he took that as the opportunity to carry you in his arms.

“I'm glad that you didn't decide to betray me.”

thinking about jin's future children. for some reason, i'd feel he'd actually have a lotta kids. at least 4, but maybe even more than that. i feel jin wants a lotta kids for a few reasons. 1) because he was an only child, and for the longest time, only consistently had his mother, therefore he wants his kids to have a big family. 2) jin used to fear being a father and refused to continue the bloodline, now that he learned to overcome that fear, he uhh... may have gone a little overboard whoops! 3) jin being the Anti Heihachi & having a lotta kids WHILE being a good father.

i don't really have ideas for every child yet. but i was thinking about two in particular for some reason. one would be a teenage girl whose personality would be a bit of a mix between jin & xiao's (since i'm picturing these as xiao's kids as well 'cos who'd else father his children LMAO) except she's a bit more of a troublemaker. somebody who always seeks an adrenaline rush. she's kinda like concept art jin in that way. anyway, none of jin's kids have awakened their devil gene but her. and it's not because she was killed like kazuya or jin were. no, she accidentally got herself killed. either by going out for a joyride, or doing some stupid dare. she has not told her parents this yet and is trying everything she can to keep her devil a secret. i haven't thought of much of a design for her yet, but since she'd be a mix of jin & xiao - she's likely have jin's bangs, and pigtails - except... the pigtails are shorter than xiao's (more like her tek3's pigtails) and they are spikey & stick up, 'cos y'know... jin's mishima blood. xD

then i thought of the youngest - he'd be an 8-12 year old boy. since i recalled that harada once wanted xiao to be a 12 year old (thank god he didn't go with that tho LMAO or else no ship for jin) but decided against it as the hitbox would be very hard to do, i think. but also with kid kazuya being in tek7's beginning... it would be kinda funny to see a kid fighter. so that's what this boy would be. i imagine he'd be nonverbal, but very loud - expressing himself with yelling (no actual words though) instead. he yells a lot, actually, and usually to just about anything. this is because he'd inherit jin's autism, but being a bit more nonverbal than jin was (and for longer). due to being a kid, he'd be a little bit more of a lighthearted character who joined the tournament WITHOUT his parents knowledge in order to win enough money to buy the studio of his favorite game / current hyperfixation so that he can make the games himself. i imagine him with bangs like xiao's, but... funny enough, hair that sticks up similar to [young] heihachi's.

kazuscara | risk it for me or run away again like you used to

—When Kazuha and Scaramouche started dating, they both agreed to keep it a secret but as time passes by, Kazuha is tired of hiding and he doesn't want the two of them to argue even for the slightest matter however he became so upset on how Scara is acting lately.

Waking up in the morning due to the fresh cold breeze, Kazuha reaches out on the other side of his bed feeling his white sheets and pillows without the presence of his boyfriend. He picks up his phone on the side table to see what time is it already, it’s still 5 in the morning yet Scaramouche left the room already. Although he is fond of him leaving his room ahead of time because their flat mates might see them, today is too early plus it’s a Saturday. Usually, Scaramouche gets up in 8-ish am because only then someone in their apartment will wake up to attend their class. Kazuha tried to brush it off avoiding small couple fight, but what welcomed him outside his door amplified what he felt earlier, Aether cooking breakfast while Venti hugs him from behind talking too sugary and warm for this cold morning.

“Morning Kazuha!” Venti greeted him with a cheerful high five which he received while yawning as he walked past them to brush his teeth. Aether then became the alarm clock of the house, “The sun is already risen wake up everybody! I cooked breakfast; First come first serve!”

With that, loud rushed footsteps are heard together with the screeching of the wooden chairs and the sound of them putting weight on their sits. Everybody is still wearing their pjs making the mood very home-y and cozy, Heizou still struggling to open both of his eyes leaning on Xiao’s shoulder while clinging on his arms, he started staring on the food the two are making causing the others to laugh uncontrollably and unintentionally make a domino laugh. Meanwhile, Scaramouche helps on pouring drinks specifically chocolate milk and orange juice, when Kazuha walked out the bathroom, he immediately helped his boyfriend on serving the drinks but before that Kazuha gave him a light squeeze on his hands that’ll serve as his good morning kiss for now, the other responded with a subtle smile.

Eating breakfast is always chaotic on their place, be it stealing food or drinks or just basically talking and arguing loudly but who cares right? They’re making memories.

“Can we switch game day to a movie day? I don’t want to end up with sore arms again due to Aether slapping the hell out of me” Heizou suggested holding his arms acting like it is badly hurt. “Yeah? Who’s the one cheating tho” the blonde argued.

“We can if majority agrees. So, who’s up for a movie day? Anyone?” said Venti waving his hands up gathering votes. The decision was divided equally so the others tried to convince those who disagreed.

“Fine, only if we refrain from those cheesy movies, it makes me feel single as fuck with all y’all cuddling on the couch” Scaramouche proclaimed which made Kazuha frown.

‘he’s still pretending’

Yes, both of them agreed that they keep their relationship a secret but what Kazuha never gets is the way his boyfriend covers up their relationship with pretending to be solo.

“How ‘bout you Kazuha?” Aether asked making Kazuha jump on his seat. “What the hell? Did you see a ghost? I’m too gorg to be a ghost” the blonde one stated, Kazuha just smiled thinly and agrees with the thought of having movies instead of games for today.

Aether noticed how Kazuha’s face sunk on Scaramouche’s statement so he asked him if he’s alright, Kazuha put up an ok sign for him. Aether is the only person who knows about Scaramouche and Kazuha’s relationship, or so the couple thought.

For their movie day, Xiao is assigned to set up the projector and the movie they are watching, Heizou is assigned on arranging their living room to a more theater like feel, Venti is assigned on preparing their snacks, the others have nothing assigned since they were the once preparing last Saturday.

While the others are busy preparing, Scaramouche is working for something in his laptop on the island of their kitchen, Kazuha sat beside him and clung into his arms leaning on Scaramouche’s shoulder and caressing his hands slowly. His boyfriend was startled of course so he pushed Kazuha away, and looked around anxiously. “Everybody’s busy don’t worry baby” Kazuha assured him.

Scaramouche then reached for his lover’s hand, intertwine his and lowered it where no one can see they are holding hands and starts gently caressing it, “Just hold my hand for now, we can’t be so sure”

“Why are you so scared of being caught? It’s not like we’re doing a crime here” that statement of Kazuha made Scaramouche stopped abruptly and getting ready to explain himself but his boyfriend parted their joined hands and walked away with the excuse of helping the others prepare.

Kazuha hated the thought of them having even the slightest misunderstanding but he couldn’t control himself today, and walking away will prevent them fighting. It’s always Kazuha who tries his best for them to hold each other tight, maybe today he wanted Scaramouche to do his part better.

“Go to your places! I’m starting the movie!” Xiao shouted from the living room so everybody went to their usual places. Three sat on the floor circled by fluffy soft pillows and the rest sat on the couch. Before pressing play, everyone got their snacks on hand and made themselves comfy on their places.

As the introductory part of the movie played, they realized it was a horror movie, “who chose the movie?! I did not sign up for this” Heizou shrieked standing up on his place and squeezing himself in between Aether and Venti, “dads help” he said while hiding in their arms.

Venti with his silly ass teased Heizou and pulled him out the couch, “stop being a crybaby the movie isn’t starting yet, just hold on me whenever you’re scared” he suggested putting an arm around him.

“He’s right don’t disturb our parents on their cuddling session” Xiao added patting the space where Heizou should be sitting. The couple just laughed on his statement and told them to be quiet already and watch the movie.

As for Kazuha, he’s already not moving on his sit, unrelaxed hands and unsteady eyes. This is why he hated movie days, because if it isn’t those cheesy movies Scaramouche hated is playing, it’s a horror movie. He reached for his boyfriend’s arms and clings to it, “I-I’m scared, hold me please” Kazuha whispered holding his arms tighter, but Scaramouche refused pushing him away and mouthed him they might see.

Kazuha was of course in disbelief and disappointment, his boyfriend values others more than him, his heart started to feel as if someone is crushing it painfully slow, clutching his chest, tears started to flow down his reddened cheeks. He stood up on the couch and went to join the others on the floor wiping his tears with the hem of his hoodie.

During the movie Kazuha’s mind is floating everywhere, even suspending and shocking sound didn’t make it to bring him back on the movie. He was fiddling around their couple necklace; silver chained, with their initials on the dangling promise ring, thoughts are oozing everywhere making him ruffle his head aggressively catching Venti’s attention that leaded to him asking if the boy was okay. As usual, Kazuha put his thumbs up and gave him a smile but this time it was with a hint of pain, even though his crying eyes wasn’t seen, his tears glistened like a crystal in the dark.

When he couldn’t take it anymore, the lad stood up catching everybody’s attention, “hey the movie is almost finished where are you going?” asked the others but Aether just shushed them and said to just focus on the movie. He gave Scaramouche a look which he doesn’t seem to understand until he motioned him to follow his other half.

Kazuha never felt this ridiculous before, when they started dating, he always feels full and happy like how he feels whenever he looks out the window every morning and see birds flying freely. Even when they decided to keep it private everyday went smooth, he didn’t know what went wrong and Scaramouche decided to act like he’s a solo to everyone.

“Babe open up its me” Scaramouche said as he cautiously knocks at the door of Kazuha’s room. The other didn’t answer and just covered himself up with his white fluffy blankets.

Scaramouche still kept knocking on the door but it gets soft as he goes longer, his head leaning on the door. “Talk to me please” he pleaded as the door finally opened showing Kazuha still with his blankets on with his lowered head avoiding Scaramouche’s gaze.

“What” he said as they sat on his bed. “I’m sorry for what I did there, I didn’t expect it to make you feel upset.” What Scaramouche said just made Kazuha more upset and angrier, it was not what happened earlier but what was happening on their relationship overall. Tears are escaping his eyes again making him burry his head on the nearest pillow. “That isn’t it, please leave and take this” Kazuha handed him their couple necklace which made him shocked and hurt.

“Why are you giving this back to me? Are you giving up on us already?” Scaramouche asked facing Kazuha who is still on his pillow. Silence filled the room for a moment, “give me an answer Kazuha, I will not leave you until you give me a proper answer” he said touching Kazuha’s hand squeezing it lightly.

“Do you really think I will be the one giving up first? I’ve been putting up with you all the time, all I want is for us to move free even if it’s just here with our friends I’m tired of hiding Scaramouche” removing Scaramouche’s hand on top of his, Kazuha faced him and looked straight on his eyes.

“If we’re just going to hide every time, let’s just end this” as soon as Kazuha was done with his sentence Scaramouche couldn’t help it anymore, blood rushing to his ears and nose, tears streaming down his cheeks, he could not say anything. Instead, his eyes poured everything.

Kazuha was taken back but he was serious, he didn’t intend to make his boyfriend cry but he really doesn’t want this relationship to be kept hidden, he just wants to express his love to him anytime anywhere without something stopping him.

Kazuha cupped the other’s cheeks and wipes his tears, “I didn’t say it to make you cry you I know I wouldn’t make you cry, but really Scaramouche if we’ll continue to act like this I don’t know if I can hold on anymore. I love you but I can’t do this anymore”

All this time Kazuha knew how sensitive Scaramouche was, after all he knew him the best. He knew why Scaramouche wants them to be a secret, he knew why he was so protective of their relationship, on their case specially. They were not normal on the others’ eyes, that’s what worries Scaramouche the most but Kazuha never cared about that as long as they were together. Kazuha wanted Scaramouche to risk it, Kazuha wanted Scaramouche to say he loves him in front of everybody so bad but Scaramouche couldn’t and only says it when the two of them are alone, he doesn’t even say it on texts regularly.

Kazuha was very understanding of Scaramouche but this time he wanted to be the one who is understood, “it’s on you Scaramouche. Choose whether you’ll risk it for me or run away again like you used to” Kazuha removed his hands on Scaramouche’s face but still he locks eyes with him waiting for his answer.

Scaramouche looked down on their necklaces he was holding. “I-i” as he stutters Kazuha held his hand, “Don’t worry I respect whatever your decision is, you know how much I love you and I’m willing to let you free if that’s what you want”

But that’s not what Scaramouche wants, he admits it he’s scared of how fragile their relationship is and once Kazuha lets go everything will scatter around like broken mirror pieces. He wants to be free too, he wants to hold Kazuha’s hand and tell him how much he loves Kazuha but his anxiety eats him up before anything else, his fear wins every time.

He could not imagine what life would be without Kazuha again, can he manage to laugh again? Can he manage to be childish again? Kazuha completes him and he doesn’t know what will happen if he is to disappear on his life.

“As expected, I cannot see how I am without you” with those exact words from Scaramouche, Kazuha cried tears of happiness as his lips forms a smile exactly the same when Scaramouche fell in love with him.

Kazuha knows what Scaramouche meant by that; he didn’t need any more explanation those exact words were enough for him to know how Scaramouche really felt.

“I love you Kazuha, with all my heart. You know exactly how I feel, I’m sorry if I couldn’t bare the fear I have every time, I will not give any more excuses from now on we’ll be free on our own relationship”

With those words coming out of his mouth he went straight to his boyfriend’s arms, both of them naturally found the best position to feel so loved and comfortable kinda similar to what we feel when we finally got home but different as Scaramouche have Kazuha by his home.

“How about we start with our friends? Right now, come on let’s go outside” the younger stood up and tugged Kazuha’s arms leading him to the place where everyone is now screaming because apparently the movie was so intense.

“You missed the best part where did the two of you go?” Xiao said as he notices the two arrived

“Guys we have an announcement”

As the both of them suddenly kinda shouted, Heizou stopped the movie

“If it’s the two of you dating never mind, we all know, now sit! I just want to finish the damn movie!” Venti proclaimed, the others were just nodding and the couple? Yeah, they were smiling as if they received a candy as a kid

“Take your sit fruity boys” Aether said teasing the both of them as he pats the vacant seat beside him

imma be real i fucking love all the damn outfits from this show so i'm just gonna show off some of my favs here! in order of appearance on the show!

1. Dongyeol (Xiao) - Very Nice

this is honestly the only fit i'd wear in public bc the suspenders are too much for me in the other outfits but it works here with the turtleneck and the oversized t-shirt on top! and the jeans just really sell the look overall. i think g group had fits that were more cohesive but none of them were my taste lol

2. Haru (LMR)

i like all of the g group colors but haru seems to make it work just a little better than jay for me (most likely bc of the white shirt), the headband is just so cute and I can't rock headbands like that but the rest of the outfit is just so comfy looking

3. Sungmin (Jerome) - LMR

K group's LMR outfits were just as equally good and sungmin's got the least like..bulkiest outfit which works great for layering, and the patterned shirt is just a nice plus for me, very like 2000s-core i love it so much

4. Osuke - Hot Sauce

okay tbh i would wear EVERYONE's fit in g group hot sauce bc all of them are SO GOOD! but i narrowed it down to osuke's because the streetwear/racecar vibes of this one are perfect, it's simple, and we're similar in height so i know it'll look good on me :)

5. Itsuki - Danger

the mix of bad-boy tech-wear type pants and then the academia-esque tops with the vest and tie, it just all goes well somehow? the monotone colors work great here for some reason idk why it just scratches an itch in my brain

6. Junseo - Danger

i almost went with yugeng's version but i think junseo's looks a little better, mainly bc of the long-sleeves. the converse really set this outfit btw which is why i cropped it in. i think i just like turtlenecks

7. Ricky (Back Door)

minus the goggles and i'd wear it. this is def a fit that you have to wear together tho, hard to mix and match this one bc it needs that cohesive white or else it gets messy. i feel bad for this team bc ricky was the only one with a decent fit

8. Jeonghyeon (GGANG)

i almost put junhyeon but i would 1. not wear an abs shirt and 2. his fit feels a little too "american high schooler" for me to really call it an idol fit LMFAO??? but jeonghyeon's fit here is actually really nice bc they didn't give him tin foil and the vest helps his shoulders and it just looks super nice. also the arm band :D

9. Jianyu (GGANG)

i know i just slandered the tinfoil but i think with this fit i'd wear it. i still think this is the best fit of the group (minus the green shoes bc the green don't match), the green mesh top is actually pretty nice and the thin vest works wonders, chen jianyu you will always be pretty as fuck

10. Keita (ZOOM)

i really like this fit and it makes keita stand out well; it's a little bulky especially since keita and i are pretty much the same height so i can well imagine how this would look on me, but the colors work nicely and the hat is just super cute!

11. Yujin (LAW)

im just glad they kinda covered up the v neck with the fishnet top LOL but i like the jumper-esque thing it's got going on, harnesses are a bit much but the stud belt really makes this work LOL good accessories too

12. Mingyu (Man In Love)

i think the simplistic fits for man in love work way better than the feel special ones (in terms of concept) and i'd wear all of them but if i had to pick one it's mingyu's easily. the green sweater is a good soft color and it just looks extremely comfy. also mingyu looks so happy

13. Ricky (Rush Hour)

just get rid of the tie and im sold

14. Jingxiang (Rush Hour)

the big hoodie and black sleeves look REALLY good and the chain on the pants really adds a nice touch. also this screenshot is hilarious bc of ricky's face lol. jingxiang however is tall so idk if i could pull this off

15. Jihoo (Limousine)

definitely another "i'd wear all of them but if i had to pick one" scenario, the caustics pants are actually a lot nicer than i expected. i think i have something for short-long sleeve combos now that im looking at it

16. Daeul (Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms)

definitely needs the beret to complete it but the outfit is just so sweet looking! the white on white somehow works and younger me always dreamed of having a white jean jacket so i would totally wear this!! the hoodie just adds on a nice layer on top too

17. Seowon (Supercharger)

(im ngl i had to do a double take when taking this screenshot, like that's SEOWON???) also this is pretty much just ricky's rush hour fit but dark mode/on steroids, so pretty much similar reasoning there. i just love this one for some reason (fun fact: he rips the rips on his pants LOL)

18. Ollie (Supercharger)

im not gonna say anything just that i've just started to notice a pattern with my choices here

19. Keita (Switch)

if you mixed junhyeon's ggang fit with itsuki's danger fit and them splashed a bunch of highlighter ink on it this is what you'd get. i think this one works best bc its more monotonous and also not blaringly loud (like kamdens pink fit that’s nightmare fuel). also, it's cute!

20. Hanbin (Switch)

the headband and the blue jacket saved this fit ngl bc those green pants don’t exactly work for me LOL but i'd wear everything else!

21. Matthew (Say My Name)

it's definitely the least like "uniform" uniform on the stage, and the extra layers make this seem like it'd be extra comfy in the winter :)

I submitted this to the other general fic tournament and it didn’t get in, but so help me god I will keep sumbitting this to fic tournaments. This is my favorite fic ever written. Like it’s so well written. I went on a nostalgia trip for Victorious in like 2020 and then looked up fanfic for Tori/Jade, as you do, and holy shit I was not expecting this gem. This is my Bible. This is also longer than the entire Bible btw. This is what the Victorious canon is to me now. Also as weird as this is to say it has like?? Sex education??? Like I have never come away from a fanfic being like “wow I learned something” before. This also happens in the third part because Tori becomes a sex ed professor more or less, which sounds weird out of context but I promise it feels super natural to how her character is written. The writers build on canon as well as make up their own plot lines that feel like they would naturally fit into canon. Also I cried during the third installment. It’s a really good fic I would recommend it to literally anyone who is invested in a good f/f ship, tho it would make a tad more sense if you have watched Victorious, I don’t think it’s necessary since the writing is just so good. There’s also 2 more chapters left to come! I am patiently waiting the Jori wedding… even tho it has been over a year since the last update… I have faith we will get it one day… please…

Me when I'm forced to confront the fact that I have a huge bias in favour of male characters as I play through wanderer's lore:

Legit like his lore?? Kinda ass if I'm being perfectly honest. The whole "he got manipulated by dottore" just feels so... Weak. It kinda made his whole quest for vengeance and all the "betrayals" he endured lost their weight. Scara trusts people's words and leaps to action far too quickly. And it's not like he's a child or anything. Grown ass man at this point. A part of him definitely enjoyed the chaos and carnage in the Fatui, although he felt that was never his true calling. Overally speaking, he still strike me as a not super well-developed character.

Genshin really struggle with writing antagonists, and I'm sure part of it stems from Chinese censorship laws. It sucks that characters have to "redeem themselves" so quickly to become playable while the hype train's still running. This led to characters like Scara and Ei lacking the time to properly reflect on their actions and do some independent soul searching. In fact, it often felt as though characters are only allowed room to grow only when the traveller is present, which? Sucks. It makes all the development feels kinda rushed and unnatural.

However! However. Uggggh- Wanderer being a silly wet cat. Just a stupid lonely little fucker with nowhere to go. He's so me fr or something. Goddamn. I really love how they made him "nice" but didn't really get rid of all his personal values. My favorite scene with him has got to be his interaction with the shopkeeper he worked for. Like the way this dude is so reluctant to receive anything back!!!! Because he still believes that fundamentally, people only stuck around each other if they got something to gain. So if he get compensation for his work, they would become "even" and thus, no longer have any need to stay together. It's so tragic how no one wants him by his own merits, so he gladly let himself be used as a tool to preserve whatever relationships he had. But that itself proved to be futile. Those who wanted to use him also, unsurprisingly, hurt him most. And as Nahida pointed out herself, the way he thought about things is inherently juvenile since there is never a way for a relationship to truly be "even" like sums in clear cut math. To live is to live with imperfections, with the hollowness inside where a deep yearn resides, because that's also what drives people to move forward. I think that's a nice message.

Anyways, would NOT be caught dead white knighting for him. Or any genshin charas really (except maybe Zhongli and Venti). Lil' dude said himself that he wanted people to know the shit he did and how fucked up it was. Still rolled for him tho and is currently eating my own shorts due to the xiao rerun😭😭😭

“EEEE WE’RE FINALLY HERE!” yoimiya squeals in excitement. seeing the gorgeous lights, everyone’s cheerful face. this was going to be a good night. not even your ex could ruin it.

“I KNOW RIGHT, i’ve been dying for a break from uni bro.” lumine states

“don’t even talk about uni here. this is a stress free zone!!” you state with a sad smile.

“yea yea whatever guys! let’s just enjoy this break for a while. no negative energy!!” hu tao demands, and ayaka nodding in agreement

“albedo your awfully quiet. c’mon enjoy yourself! it’s one of the very few time your away from your weird experiments.” ayaka tells him.

“i’ll try.”

“OH MY GODDD ITS STARTING GUYS!” hu tao exclaims.

the members entering on the stage, each member shone in the spotlight. first, venti, then aether, xiao, kazuha, heizou and lastly scaramouche. the concert begins. it starts off as any other concert.

the band performing their current album. voices singing beautifully. everything’s good! no resentment, sadness, or emotions alike when you see scaramouche.

just you and your friends enjoying yourselves.

“C’MON Y/N LOOK MORE ALIVE! SCREAM THE LYIRICS WITH ME!!” hu tao screams at you. you can barely hear her, but you can still make out some words.

“WE DON’T KNOW THE LYRICS THO?”

“DOESN’T MATTER!!”

“IF YOU SAY SO!”

screaming nonsense with hu tao, genuine smiles between the whole friend group. hell even albedo is smiling, even if it’s barely noticeable.

the band finish their album’s discography. then venti tells in to the mic for the audience, “this is going to be a special concert! our amazing guitarist, scaramouche will be singing a solo today! hope you guys enjoy this, he spent a lot of time and thought into this song.”

the crowd erupting in to cheers, chanting his name, and other members retreating to the back so he could be in the spotlight.

it’s an amazing song honestly, not even you could hate on it. until he looks directly at you while singing a lyric.

“the look of love, the rush of blood. the she’s with me’s, the gallic shrug”

was he hinting at something? you’ve always admired him, anyone who looked in you guys’s direction could see the love and admiration in your eyes.

you wondered during the relationship if it was ever one sided. he never cared for you in public or private. always pushing you away, no matter what you couldn’t get close enough to him. to his feelings.

there’s no use of if’s now, what’s the point of wondering about the past when you’ve got friends who’d be there for you, open about their feelings, treat you like someone, they’re just everything you need.

lumine’s looking at you concerningly, giving you the “you okay? you need some time alone?” look. shaking your head no, with a content smile on your face.

scaramouche is still looking at you. he has been since the beginning since his solo, the concert, in highschool, all the time. in his eyes you were everything. you were too good to be true. something made up from his imagination.

someone who’d been with him, okay with his flaws, didn’t change him and just accepted him as who he is a whole.

making eye contact with him after years. you can say it’s cheesy like a stupid romcom. they say eyes don’t lie, you might just believe that now. that look in his eyes, it was just like yours in highschool, full of love.

thinking to yourself “maybe i do need some time alone. how ironic, literally said you wouldn’t let a random ex ruin this night for you.”

tapping lumine on her shoulder, her turning around, “hey lumine im gonna go take a breath of fresh air real quick.”

“okay y/n, take all the time you need, and stay safe.”

giving her a smile you stepped out for a bit of fresh air. you didn’t even realize you couldn’t breathe when he was looking at you. it was suffocating. he still has that same hold on you even years later.

will you ever escape scaramocuhe, or you should say kunikuzushi. maybe one day you will. who knows, only time will tell.

seeing you at the concert wasn’t what scaramouche was expecting. and he didn’t realize how much he’s misses you until now.

missing your smile, your hugs, your stupid conversations, your care. everything about you. how should he feel right now? sad, happy, longing? who knows. all he knows is that he misses you dearly.

seeing you happy with your friends, he can’t deny he’s glad. you aren’t crying and grieving over someone like him. your cheery self made him feel better. you gave his monochrome world color.

hearing venti’s announcement of his time of singing his solo, he was scared. he wasn’t planning to be singing something he made in thought of you. and you watching him too, he was a little more than nervous.

the lyrics were about you and your actions.

“the look of love”, you’re admiration for him. always there for him, caring for him. you’re love never faltering even after he’d push you away constantly.

“the rush of blood”, you’re gorgeous face decorated with a pink hue when he’s around and you’re energy. you were always full of life, giving him a reason to do anything. and you’re blushing and giggly face every time you guys made eye contact.

“the she’s with me’s”, picking him over anyone. anyone could’ve been a better company then him. he was always quiet, rude and arrogant, so why? why did you pick his presence over any one else’s? “no, sorry, i’m busy with my boyfriend right now.” those word made him feel good. you’d still pick him over anything.

It was night when it happened, so after your heated discussion, the best remedy you saw was to go for a walk alone, and feel the night breeze to clear your mind.

That's what you thought until you heard the branches rustling near you.

You weren't able to see anything with so much darkness, and that sound made you remain static in the place. You decided to call your partner's name, but there was no response.

Maybe it was just your imagination.

Again the same noise, this time closer. You didn't want to look scared despite how stiff every muscle in your body was, so you called your partner a little higher this time.

That creature reveals itself running towards you. You let out a terrified scream, just to notice it was a poor boar, that looked more scared than you, finally disappearing into the bushes on the other side of the road, passing you on its way even without touching you.

⩩ VENTI.

The first time you called his name he barely heard it. It was only like a faint whisper that the wind brought him, and for this reason he assumed that you would be venting out there talking to yourself.

“Pfft.” he lets out, after a long sigh. It left him more exhausted the simple fact of arguing with you than to fight with any enemy. “After everything we've said to each other, do you still have things to add? Funny.”

Venti heard his name once more, this time something in him woke up, and his attitude seems more serious and attentive than before. His heart was beginning to beat strongly, and he furrowed his eyebrows as he looked in the direction you had previously left.

It wasn't until he heard you scream that those strong heartbeats seemed to stop in terror at the thought that something had happened to you while he was purposely ignoring you. How could he forgive himself?

Without realizing it, his feet already had him running towards you relentlessly, finally finding you crouched down with your eyes closing tightly and covering your head with your arms, waiting to receive an attack that was not going to come.

Venti was prepared with his bow, or prepared to summon a hurricane if necessary to save you, but all he did at such a scene was kneel before you and take your hands, separating them from your head as he desperately tried to get you to look back at him.

“Shh, shh, y/n. I'm here... look at me... please look at me... nothing's wrong, there's no danger around.”

At those words, you opened your eyes slowly, meeting the tearful eyes of Venti, who hugged you when your gazes connected. That way you wouldn't see a few tears falling down his cheeks.

“Forgive me for leaving you alone. It's my fault, sorry, sorry... I love you, I'll never let you go again.”

Bonus: when Venti realized that you screamed because a little boar scared you, he bursted out laughing. He wasn't sure if it was because the scene was funny in his mind, or he was just relieved that it wasn't anything really dangerous.

Were you calling his name? Well, keep doing it, because there is no way that an adepti will succumb to the temptation of ever seeing a mere human like you. A human who minutes before made him completely lose his composure. Ignoring you now was your punishment, and his own too.

Your scream made all thoughts of the arguing dissolve, making him return violently to reality. With the spear in hand and his fist white due to the force he was using while holding his weapon, he appeared before you, taking a step forward and meeting... absolutely nothing dangerous.

Seeing you over his shoulder, he carelessly tossed the spear aside and kneeled before you, putting his gloved hands on your shoulders, on your cheeks, on your hair.

“What happened? Who hurt you? Which direction did they go?” his incessant questions accompanied every movement of his hands in search of any wound on your skin, until finally you calmed down.

“I'm fine, sorry for the scare I gave you... There's no danger.”

Your words caused the boy to drop his head in relief, leaning his forehead against your shoulder and feeling a great weight leave his body. With one knee bowed to the ground in front of you, he closed his eyes tightly.

“y/n... my apologies for not appearing when you called. I am the one to blame for everything. I must protect you... because I love you. It's the least I can do for you, and I'm not even able to do it right...”

His sadness begins to turn into rage, you can tell by how his muscles begin to tense under your soft touch.

Bonus: A few simple sweet words and you will have the boy totally melted in your arms, allowing you to caress him as you wish. He is so glad to be by your side again... safe and sound.

The first thing he did was kneel beside you, gently pushing your head against his chest with a protective aura that you had rarely seen in him. After all, your safety always comes first. His always serene gaze now looked around frantically, searching for the root of the problem.

There wasn't a second in which he released his firm yet gentle grip on you.

“Everything is fine, y/n. Come, get up.” he commented helping you getting up again.

When you confessed to him what really scared you, his expression didn't change one bit. He was still as serious as before.
