OH HEY i hadn't even read this ask when I wrote my response to that other one so I guess we're just on the same brainwave with "Shermie is the one to ask Stan to take care of the kids"

Stan is so confused because like. Shermie is his brother. He knows Shermie is his older brother. Everytime someone mentions Stan's brother they're obviously talking abut Shermie. Right? So why is Shermie calling up Stanford (how does Shermie know Stanford exists? So why does his brother Shermie somehow know who Stanford is? Does he know Stanley stole this random dude's identity? Except, no, Shermie thinks Stanford is his brother, which is super weird. And Stan is so absolutely baffled about this whole thing that he finds himself agreeing to Shermie's request before he can think through "taking care of a couple of kids for an entire summer"

this is likely unintentional, but i like to read into things, so.

for context, they're speaking to a room full of children in a town with a serial child murderer, and are giving them some precautions to follow to stay safe (on a lighter note: the scene is intercut with a scene of gideon doing the same to a room of adults, which i really like)

jj addresses the children as "you" while morgan addresses them as "we". i dont like the term "freudian slip" because i hate freud, but thats the shortest way to describe what i think/headcanon is happening here. im sure they had a script, and i think morgan's part was "bad men and women are more likely to talk to you only when you're by yourself" and the "us/we" came out accidentally. or i could believe that morgan wrote his part of the script and wrote "we" because he sees himself in the victims.

obviously the way morgan was victimized during his childhood was very different to what's happening here (there is no sexual assault and we later learn that the violence was done by a peer, not an adult) but it's made clear several times that morgan takes any case where children are harmed very personally. they all do, because that's just how people are, but again, morgan specifically sees himself in the child victims they encounter. he was victimized differently, yes, but he knows what its like to face violence as a child, he knows the fear they felt, and, considering in this case they profile that the children know their attacker, he knows the feeling of betrayal

yk i was rewatching a series of unfortunate events today and one thing i noticed is how much olaf flirted with georgina throughout the miserable mill 1 and 2; going as far as almost kissing her (but the telephone had to ring at that moment LMFAO). in fact, one can say he flirted more with georgina in those two episodes than he flirted with esme throughout two seasons. and id just like to say one thing (which is not just because im an eslaf shipper and an esme supporter) - there is NO WAY olaf wouldn't have made out with esme at least once in TWO whole seasons. like, come on, clearly those two suit each other way more than olaf and georgina. now i don't hate georgina or her relationship with olaf, but she's just as good as competition for eslaf as kitlaf is (tho i believe eslaf wins 🗣)

I feel like nobody talks about how fucking weird Henry's 'so naive' comment about Susie through the golden ink messages is tbh. I'm sure it's meant to be like sad, but it feels so fucking stupid.

What do you mean naive Henry she was literally tricked by the same guy who tricked you, except unlike you she wasn't a white man in the 1930s she was a woman being taken advantage of by the men in power around her [which would've included Henry who was Joey's literal business partner]. Seems like she did the same thing you did but unlike you she had way more reason to be forced to stick around and so she did. Not only that but she learned to distrust Joey, something u didn't seemingly learn until he trapped u in a timeloop. Idk is that just me? It feels weirdly mean-spirited even as like a 'poor gal' kind of comment. Henry literally did the same thing she did why does it make her naive??? Is it projection?? Cause I never got the impression it was considering how much the story really seems to take everything Henry says at face value [like how he calls Malice heartless and it's like. Okay well at least she has a personality u piece of cardboard who has no depth besides 'oh gee I sure do love my wife, hope I don't die']

Cause unlike characters like Joey we've never gotten the impression Henry's judgement is clouded with emotion or tainted with lies or generally that anything he's said is untrue or put through the filter of what he sees. It seems like when he says Susie's naive the narrative is genuinely telling us that's how she is. Henry's never really had his perspective challenged narratively which is why I want to stress I don't think it's like a 'oh deep down he sees himself in her' or a projection kind of deal. It's never been implied we shouldn't take Henry's word at face value.

basically pissditching is friends with revengeromance and girlgerard (both of whom i dislike atp*) i said something in the tags of a post abt how i was pissed at revengeromance for something (unrelated) and pissditching found it and lowkey harassed me and several friends over it and said some real fucking weird shit to me so i blocked them (and probably said something snarky abt them on main but i dont really remember)

*i dont personally like these two users bc they (specifically gg) are the forefront of call gerard way nothing but she/her and i think thats fucking weird 🙂 personally. so i have them blocked and don’t interact with anyone around them at all.
