Auuuuuuugh I just... thought about izas final days. But mostly.

Them hoping to see Nyad one last time before they die.

Originally I thought they were like. Just sitting on the shore near their tomb for the day, but didn't see anything.

Until the sky began to darken, and in the distance they saw a whale breeching, and smiled softly. Because. Yknow. The story of nyad and the whale.

But then. I thought.

What if nyad DID show up.

"Why do you look so sad?"

"I am going to die soon."

She thinks this guy looks familiar. She can't remember of course, but something really does seem... familiar.

Iza smiles softly. "Perhaps I just have one of those faces."

They probably ask if she's happy.

And they maybe talk for a bit before iza bids her farewell... and thank you. She won't know what for, and it hurts them. But... how could they not thank the shell of the woman who took them in as a child, and cared for and loved them? Who gave herself to save the world?

Maybe when they part ways again, nyad feels sad, or feels like crying.
