The REAL thing I wanted to talk about was Traveling thieves (which is by far my favorite fanfic of ALL TIME), and all the amazingness in ttsbc made me forget it even existed for the past few weeks. But the other day I was just like "oh yeah. Traveling thieves." and then i reread the whole thing. whoopsies.

Ummm anywyas there's so many thoughts in my head about all the little guys, but recently I've been on an Imp and Skizz obsession (just scroll on my page for .2 seconds and you'll see) and YOU. You left them on a CLIFFHANGER. >:((( (not actually mad btw). I just. so excited for them. They're out alone in the woods right now and Skizz is going to have the perfect opportunity to kill Impulse and get away and I just am falling apart thinking about them. (I drew them to cope lol, posted on my blog but also later here so that I can talk about it more). I can see this playing out a few ways. Obviously Skizz isn't actually going to kill Impulse, so he's either going to 1) make up some excuse as to why he can't do it right then, but still plans to do it eventually, or 2) he does it. but he doesn't. Skizz attacks Impulse when he's not expecting it, there's a scuffle, and Skizz comes out on top---BUT THEN HE CAN"T FINISH IT!!! and it's a whole thing where even tho skizz tried to kill him, imp is still so understanding and skizz cries and impulse just freaking gives him a hug and

Mostly I'm just very proud of their expressions, with Impulse being all concerned glancing over at Skizz, meanwhile Skizz is completely deadpan staring forwards, also looking very tired bc he needs a break from this universe. Also I switched up my Impulse design a lil bit from last time (if u even remember that lol it was months ago now). you would think, just looking at them, that Impulse took way longer to design, but nope, I was messing around with Skizz for at least double the time, trying to figure out how to have him facing forward whilst still showing some of the scars on his back. I gave up eventually xD (all that means is that im gonna have to draw him again later, from different angles)

actually that made me remember a question I had: are you planning to ship Imp and Skizz? Ik you said Zed and Tango are going to be a thing far in the future, but... skizzpulse? plzzzz plz pretty please haha im not obsessed

The unconditional rejection Woljif has always suffered is unfortunately deeply ingrained in his insecurities. Yet at the same time, he knows on a gut level it’s unfair, and that sense of injustice is what makes acceptance his main goal in life. The unjust rejection lights a fire in him. He wants to show people his worth: to sit on a throne, to be rich and well-dressed and important. (And/or to have a family who accept and love him, but don't tell.) There’s an unquenchable hope in him, whether on his human or demon path, that to me and my azata bard is his most charming trait.

I chose this one because I went through some thought processes on it throughout writing my fics and I wasn’t expecting the outcome. Both Woljif's and Siavash’s response to a drunken Seelah asking when they’re going to make it official is “Priests and contracts? Way to kill the mood.” My chaotic boys need their freedom, and they know that freedom is what keeps the spark alive. But there’s another side to Woljif in my hc. He likes things to be bonafide. Official. Like having the certificate to prove a diamond is authentic. Once he’s in a relationship with Siavash he’s terrified of saying the L-word himself but desperate to hear it, because he feels like that’ll make it real. When Seelah springs that awkward question on them, he has a moment of fear “like a puppy about to catch the cat he’d been chasing” and almost—just almost—hopes Siavash will ask. So at the end of my sequel to the game story, Wandering Stars, due to some scary stuff happening and both of them feeling they’re coming unmoored for certain endgame-spoiler-related reasons, Siavash changes his mind about it—on impulse, because it’s him, but also becoming more sure after thinking it through. In the sequel to that fic (yes I’m obsessed) Woljif finds that making it official gives him an added sense of security and belonging that’s deeply precious to him. He has an actual family and an actual home and the papers to prove it.

keith! the throwaway name in tdpi to you; but to me he's an actual character

younger me is screaming rn, ever since i watched tdpi when it came out, i was super interested in keith as a character (and his dynamics with sky, and with dave)!! finally here we are, some picrews of what i think he looks like & some basic info! (cant do the 16-slide presentation with him rn like i did with gabriel 😔 but maybe i will in the future!)

here's a fic abt him! (plus i do have an rr au idea with him in my drafts)

below the cut are gonna be some keith (and keith & sky) hcs:

-> keith is exceptional in almost any sport he puts his mind to! his favorites are baseball and basketball though. he met sky through a school game and they bonded over their love of athletics!

-> keith never rlly considered sports as a career, he's always default thought of it as a hobby. sky was the one who wanted to take her skills farther, and he did support her for it

-> their shakiness started when sky brought up auditioning for tdpi. keith has heard the shit that happens in many reality shows and worried for her, saying they could try another solution. they argued, sky signed up for tdpi (she said she'll miss him in the audition bc he was filming and it was sort of as a 'im sorry for the fights pls try to understand' thing). however, despite keith trying to understand, he didn't watch any of tdpi until the finale episode

-> as a loyal person in relationships, keith was extremely hurt and upset by sky kissing dave and then leading him on. it made him feel quite worthless, and despite any reconciliations, he knows he can't ever trust her again

-> he doesnt like dave bc the guy went ballistic and put sky's life in harm's way, he considers that a bit of an overreaction on dave's end and he does resent him for believing he played a part in sky falling for him

-> this guy places trust to a high degree, if you break it, you're seeing a different keith

-> he's the type to maybe be good/proficient at chess. might have him be good at it actually!

-> he and sky are both bisexual. sky is bi with a preference for women; keith is bi but used to pretend he was straight due to the environment he lived in

-> sky and keith's relationship tropes: friends to lovers, mutual respect for each other, relationship for convenience

-> in actuality, sky & keith's relationship is more of a friendship. they only made it like they're dating bc of their families, and when their individual sexuality crisis came up, that caused some issues. prior to tdpi, sky already had a feeling she liked women, but she kept it to herself; keith, for his part, already was aware of his bisexuality when he and sky started dating but he thought their relationship would "get rid of it". in the end, sky got the courage to push aside the veil in front of their relationship first (hence the dave moments), and keith tried to hide behind their relationship bc he didn't know if he had the guts to confront the implications

-> keith's fully ready to confront/fight anyone who gives him bad vibes and isn't afraid to show that--all except for his father (the man gave this guy too much trauma for that)

-> he got his piercings as a nonverbal 'eff you' to the old keith he used to be. back when he was worried abt his parents judgements and his friends. before tdpi, before sky and his breakup, before he made an effort to come into his real self

-> his mum and he have a complicated relationship. she's low-key homophobic at times that he cant get a proper read on her. but he does love her (def more than he does his dad), and he hopes she's willing to accept him

-> has heterochromia; one eye is dark blue, the other is light hazel (he tends to wear contacts, making it seem like he has two blue eyes)

-> he shaved part of the side of his head in a fit of impulsiveness at a concert with several friends, but then he realized he looks good in it and he likes the style, so he kept it that way

-> the type to wear sweatshirts/shirts/hoodies with lowkey memes on them (as shown in the pics with him wearing the orange hoodie with the two fingers almost touching)

-> he and sky were the epitome of 'what we have is better off as a wonderful friendship than a romantic relationship'

-> he and sky tended to help each other sports-wise in various ways; like she'd play scrimmages with him, and he'd race hurdles with her. this helps both of them grow and bond at the same time. it's a fun pastime they both enjoyed and feel nostalgic for now

-> clothing style: the stuff in the pics, along with jeans (not rlly baggy jeans though) along with sports sneakers or light brown hiking boots

-> one time sky twisted her ankle and refused to get help, and keith had to literally piggy-back her to his car bc she said she "can just walk it of, its fine!"

-> strong emotionally/mentally/physically. more so abt the first two, he's good at hiding his feelings bc of the environment he grew up in and his family (his dad more so). if he and dave ever have a heart-to-heart they can discuss their shitty father figures and how that lack impacted them lmao (the dave in my head has a shitty and distant father)

i kinda sorta have a guess on what will happen, it’s just scrambled eggs and may age as bad as milk but ye ;-; (tw: long ass text)

I kinda feel like when Adam gets caught by Lute, and now Adam has to be the one to take off his mask and show his real face to her, he gets real horrified

tho, bc of his pride and ego (and that one time where he felt shitty bc he’d shown a part of him he hasn’t shown to anyone else, and Lute just “dismissed” him), he’ll try to make excuses, even saying that he’d already took off his mask once, and doesn’t have to do it twice, but that only kinda results in a back and forth argument

eventually, Lute makes a hurtful comment to him, and then he decides he’s had enough and just rips out his mask out of his face out of impulse and anger

then, realizing what he’s done, he just kinda stands in shock, while Lute also looks at him in shock, realizing he’s a fluffly brown-haired normal looking dude with the blackest eyebaga you’ll ever see (at least thats how Adam sees himself)

he’s just like: “SHIT, NOW SHE THINKS IM FUCKING UGLY DUDE”, but Lute is just like: “OH MY GOD HES HOT”

starting off so strong with THE eridave fic. i have reread this one very recently actually so i can tell you w complete confidence that this is the best one. this is THE one. if you only ever read one eridave fic make it this one. and then come back and read mine no but like im being so real rn its so good. eridans pretentious and a dickwipe and juuust whiny enough and daves complete no bullshit attitude with him works so well. their dynamic is peak in this, like. its everything.

spritezee writes some of the best eridave fics out there. this one in particular is my favorite. its not only a space au but its really a love letter to the scifi genre and you can tell just reading through it that a lot of care went into the worldbuilding. dave and bros relationship is a total mess in a way thats honestly really interesting, and zee always writes a great dynamic for eridan and dave. plus, you HAVE to admit thats a great fucking title

Then you told him you’d always wanted to have sex on a piano, so it’d all work out fine. The reference went straight over his head, which in hindsight should not have surprised you in the least because Pretty Woman isn’t really John’s usual genre, and even if it had been it’s not anywhere near obscure and shitty enough to catch his eye. When Rose asked you the same thing a few minutes later you told her you discovered the small store at the far side of your street carries penis-shaped candles and that you now swore by watching them slowly burn down right to the waxen ballsack as a therapeutic relaxation technique.

again, always a great eridan and dave dynamic w this author. if it wasnt really clear by the summary, this fic in particular is fucking hilarious and dave and his wandering metaphors are a lot of fun in it.

other than that, tho, all of my recommendations are just going to be more of spritezees fics, so i REALLY recommend that you just save me the time and go check out their stuff yourself. if i ever delve back into the eridave tag ill make sure to let yall know if i find any bangers

i kinda just go with whatever strikes me in the moment? like i love a LOOOT of decks but i usually buy decks on impulse instead of like? wishlisting them? like i do wishlist them so i have them all together but its not like in any real order! just that when im ready and have th money whichever one stands out to me is getting bought if that makes sense??

this one for obvious reasons! it's a big themed tarot deck? what's not to like about this!!!! if i could i'd buy this deck rn it's such a cosy feeling deck and reminds me so much of Tithonus 🪲💕

next we have this one! i already own a cat tarot deck but id adore to also own this one i mean look at it!! its so cuuuuute

this one really spoke to me with its whimsical vibe!! i'd absolutely adore more decks that are colourful and whimsy and full of different patterns!! it's just so visually full and i LOVE that yk?

i originally was going to just leave it at that since i only own tarot but then i remembered that i don't own a SINGLE oracle deck! (i'm sure you could use tarot for oracle purposes but yk i don't own a single like made for oracle decks if that makes sense) so i wanted to share some i ALSO wanna buy!!

this deck is SO simple? yet i adore it with my whole heart as someone who is very VERY drawn to colours not only for my craft but also because im an artists obsessed with colours this deck is just so up my alley

next we have these beautiful cards!! they're also so full of whimsy and there's just so MANY of them it's honestly gorgeous just to look through all the colours and patterns for the background- it's just so striking and feels almost like a spell every time i see one

yk it wouldn't be a me post if it didn't involve a cat or two! the art for these cards is breathtaking and i find myself drawn to them every time i see them, rn i think out of all these decks this would be the one i'd buy just because of how drawn i am to it, i'm a very cat coded person and feel extra drawn to them all my life so it's no wonder 💕

and last but not least this beautiful card set!! it's got such incredible illustrations of animals and each card feels so unique and like a journey, i think it'd be fantastic for guidance and also energy work?? idk why but this deck radiates such a strong energy to me

uncanny counter season 2 is definitely weaker than season 1 (tbf season 1 was really well written so it’s hard to live up to) but im not able to fully place why, I think my main problems are

1. the villains are wayyy less fleshed out and what we do have doesn’t work well with prior world building. I was down for “they came back for revenge” thing but it’s not focused on as much as the money and there’s no real reason for them to be that focused on the money? with the exception of baek hyang-hui who’s rage was based on her expensive tastes, evil spirits were characterized to be driven by fulfilling their impulse for violence and by strong desires from their human lives (ie. ji cheong-sin helping his adoptive dad and protecting the kids at the orphanage). gelly and hwang pil-kwang are definitely doing violence but they obviously must have other motivations if they’re so focused on this money and I feel like there hasn’t even been hints/slow character building about what those motivations are. ma joo-seok is getting fleshed out really well as a sympathetic villain so that makes up for a lot.

2. the few plot points from season one that could be followed up on feel like they’ve been dropped. we still don’t really know why so mun is special. it felt like they were hinting at romance between so mun and hana that was entirely dropped. even minor things like whether chu mae-ok went to the wedding or if mo-tak got in touch with jeong-yeong’s family after her death. kinda feels like a new story in the same universe instead of a continuation of the existing story.

3. not enough non-supernatural stuff. season 1 was strong imo because it showed how the supernatural was wrapped up in the mundane. evil spirits are abusive husbands and shitty bosses and school bullies. ordinary evils could also be possessed by evil spirits. even ji cheong-sin was being used as a hit man by normal evil businessmen who just cared about profit. it made everything feel more real and made the characters feel like people who existed outside of the plot. I’m feeling much less of that so far this season. big exception there is hana and her high school crush. was really hoping on more of a focus on what exactly everyone thinks so mun is doing rn if he’s not in college (also how did that happen?)

that being said, I’m actually really enjoying the season and I feel like the episodes are getting stronger as they go so I have high hopes. it’s just that season 1 was really well written so that every plot line was relevant and connected and every character was well fleshed out, so it felt jarring going right from season 1 to season 2.

(also this is petty but I wish they had kept the tighter curls from season 1, everyone looks really good there’s nothing to complain about, I just liked the tighter curls as a story element lol)

Hello I am secretly Zelda Lore Nerd and I must know your thoughts on like. The story progression and plot beats and how it's all put together in Twilight Princess because I've only ever watched playthroughs I haven't played it myself and I'm invested in your liveblogging of this now.

ok so im ONLY on the death mountain dungeon right but so far in terms of story structure & level design i love this game. i feel like it hits a real sweet spot of being a little perplexing but never punishing yk like u get to use your noggin but it’s easy to progress.

like i mentioned already i LOVED the tutorial ramping you up for a horseback adventure to hyrule castle as a human guy with a sword & slingshot and the power of speech only to take it all away with the wolf transformation and hurl you directly to the twilit castle so the journey you were promised is instantly fulfilled, and stolen, and given back much harder, darker, more complicated.

you haven’t spent much time with/as link atp but it HITS like. his screentime as a guy has been so well spent in establishing his relationship with ordon village, both animals & people, and hyping you up for him to prove himself and see the world in a way that he then isn’t allowed to. the transformation feels authentically violating—it’s fun to play as the wolf, but the first time you try to talk to a familiar npc and they scream, or to open a door and find it’s an unnavigable barrier to you in this form, the realization that just as link doesn’t know how to move through the world in this body, you don’t know how to move through the game without most of the mechanics you just learned… like it hits it hits!

the spirit cleanse 🐺 -> dungeon 🧍 -> spirit cleanse 🐺 -> dungeon 🧍 pattern works really nicely. keeps things fresh, means you didn’t really waste your time in the tutorial, and also alternates the dimly lit, easier but utterly lonely wolf phases with the brighter, more social and challenging human phases in a way that characterizes the twilight itself as a threat imo? it’s melancholy, it’s peaceful, it consumes without killing, it’s vast and feels like a natural disaster… but it’s also easier to reverse than more mundane instances of greed, corruption, and violence. the motif of link with and without a community is repeated over and over. it’s yummy!!

i like that the dungeons seem to have their own characters beyond just the set dressings too. the forest temple felt a bit like a memory pair matching game with a lot of backtracking to previously explored rooms with new context for what you found in there. the goron mines seem to be a lot more timing based, with a lot of speed checks and, so far, more linear forward progress. so the elemental character of each region goes into like. what’s the most challenging quality of each dungeon, instead of just everything getting harder across the board. wood & air for flow, growth, renewal, return. metal & fire for enthusiasm, impulse, persistence, and rhythm. YUM!

midna of course is a nonstop delight. it’s not always clear when she’s available to help mechanically, like it took me forever to realize she’ll only warp during twilight phases, but that’s ok—i’ve never regretted hitting the button to talk to her extra times. (ㅅ´ ˘ `)♡ to me, she’s the perfect fusion of TP’s dark and silly elements. it was love from the first time she yanked on link’s ears and told him to be a good boy. um. mm. hhehe.

literally my only game design complaints are that the day/night cycle isn’t explained in game and isn’t very intuitive (time doesn’t pass in every map), and since it does determine enemy activity & merchant availability i feel like that shouldn’t be smth you have to ask reddit for… and on the wii soooo many things are bound to the A button, and the console is NOT good at interpreting which function makes the most sense for a given situation. it makes some tasks a lot harder than they should be. ah well. forgiveable!
