You loved your beautiful boyfriend Minho. He was an angel sent from above, truly. Or... maybe below? The box and what existed out of the Glade was confusing, sadly. God, you wished you could remember anything outside of here.

Sadly, you hadn't seen him very much recently.

He'd been busy with his duties in the maze and the Map Room, and you've been busy working in the gardens damn near all day every day. Your rations were running low, the crops were growing slower than ever, and you couldn't figure out why. It's not like there were deer or raccoons feasting on them either. It was just you Gladers here, nothing else. You'd been stressing out over it and needed some time away from it for a while.

Thankfully, the beloved tree house existed, and rarely anyone used it.

You'd stolen a basket of fruit from Fry's kitchen, awaiting the arrival of Minho. Hopefully, Newt stuck to his word, or remembered to, to send Minho to the tree house to spend some time with you.

Thankfully, the beautiful Korean boy showed up, dressed casual and out of the heavy gear he had to wear in the maze. He greeted you with a tired yet warm smile, sitting down with you on the wooden floor.

"Hey, how's your day?" He asks, sitting next to you, shoulder to shoulder.

You hand him a little basket of strawberries. "Fine, I guess." You shrug, "Need a minute away from the gardens"

He nods, "I need a minute away from the shuckin' maze"

You dangle your feet off the side of the platform, soaking up each other's presence.

He pulls you into his lap, between his legs. He rests his chin on your shoulder while his arms rest around your waist. You feel your stomach swarm with butterflies, resting your hands over his.

"I love you" He whispers, placing a kiss on your temple.

"Love you too, dork," you reply with a smile, leaning your head back to rest yourself against him.

"What a romantic" He giggles, pulling you a little closer.

The night continues on in peace, smiles, giggles and kisses shared, hands intertwined. You share your body heat, cuddled up and comfy.

"No, no, no, he said something like he was gonna beat him back into the box! How does that even work? Gally acts like Thomas is some universal threat or something" You laugh as you speak.

"I have no idea, darling." He smiles and chuckles, listening to you ramble on and on about stories he'd missed during the day.

You look up at him and place a kiss on his jawline, a stupid smile on his face.

"Love you"

"Love you too"

as for what scenes are most memorable, I’ve got a few in mine —

The entire fic of “for a woman wert” (I don’t remember the name but you know it) newt/Minho, but in particular the way you laced passive aggression/forced docility in the doing of the dishes, as well as the “olive branch” treat Minho’s mother gave to Minho. Amazing.

Then there’s the fic you gave me for FTH — the pillow fort making scene where gally discusses his body image issues makes me sob but I adore it.

There’s a hundred more but these two are the first to come to mind 💕

oh damn nice question! i felt a little lost scrolling my works at first, because my answer to favorite fic i ever wrote is always i may do no harm, buut this is a 2022 ask so it can't be that. i would have to say Med vilje then! which also exists as its english translation: On Purpose.

i'm just suuuuuch a sucker for thomas and gally truly seeing each other, and understanding each other, and loving each other for every little flaw they have and oh. i made myself emotional about thomally again, how did that happen.

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

huh! let me think. probably the fact that i wrote and published a fic in a different fandom than tmr!

-they go to a drive-in

- it’s the summertime and julie and the phantoms had a gig earlier that day so needless to say alex and reggie are wiped

- they fall asleep as soon as the movie starts

- the feature film maze runner because i have recently re-fallen down that particular hellhole (spoilers for the tmr trilogy below)

- willie and nick give full commentary the entire time, such as “there’s no way that british dude is straight” and “teresa is so useless, when does she die”

- reggie wakes up during ben’s banishment and immediately buries his face into nick’s neck because Scary

- willie drinks like five cokes in a row and has to use the bathroom

- alex sleeps all until chuck’s d*ath, and the whole time willie is just. smiling at him. and kissing his fingers. and being in love.

- nick scoffs at him but then he turns around and plays with reggie’s hair so,,,,,

- they all cry when chuck dies (reggie cries the hardest)

- he cries for like ten minutes until nick gives him a box of sour patch kids (reggie would love em fight me)

- the movie theater just happens to be showing the whole series that night and willie’s already hyped up on caffiene, alex and reggie are wide awake, and nick’s somehow already become number one newtmas stan so they stay for the scorch trials

- they all hate janson/rat man immediately

- willie’s just “wow he reminds me of a certain uncle of mine” his uncle is caleb

- do you,,,,know that one scene,,,,,,,,,where thomas knows wckd found them and he’s losing his shit and newt gets real close in his face and says “what did you see” in a voice yea

- the innocent children they are, they think the movie will end in happiness and peace and love and a dead teresa (i mean it does but-)

- when minho’s not on the train willie is genuinely so shocked

- nick rambles about the happy newtmas they will surely be getting at the end of the film, my sweet summer child

- reggie’s favorite character is frypan and he won’t shut up about it

- reggie: “i just think that fry cooked for them all and now he’s agreeing to go on a suicide mission, he deserves more appreciation”

his boyfriend, just trying to watch a movie: “that’s sweet darlin’ but they’re getting attacked by zombies”

- teresa shows up on screen and willie throws an empty coke can at her

- except nick is in the way so it kinda just,,, ricochets off of him

- he says “ouch dude what the heck” and willie looks away and doesn’t say anything

- gally shows up again and they all collectively lose their minds, which earns them many a glare from the elderly couple in the car over

- it happens again when newt dies except with a lot more tears and insisting “but they were in love”s from nick

-  they’re all extremely uncomfortable when thomas and brenda flirt

- surprisingly, willie is the only one who cries during the reading of The Letter

- they leave the drive-in tired but content

also reggie is totally wearing nick’s hoodie the whole time

The gifset you reblogged made me think about Gally and Brenda and reminded me of what popped into my head while I was writing the other day (they're a couple in the fic I'm working on) and that was that Gally is like pretty tall and Brenda is kinda smaller so just imagine how cute it is when they kiss! Brenda probably has to go up on her tip toes. Alternatively she probably just drags random stuff over that she can stand on to get a better height so the others stop teasing her for having to stand on her tip toes to kiss her boyfriend (it's not her fault her boyfriend is a giant stop teasing her, Minho lol)

Q1: what inspired you to write the fic this way?

There wasn’t exactly a particular style I was aiming for? Childlike, I suppose. It’s from Newt’s perspective and they’re quite young.

Q10: why’d I choose this pairing for this story?

I’m always fighting for “these two would have been friends” these days at the very least. I imagine this would eventually lead to romance but they’re children here so the love is just sweet and kind and childlike. Probably part of what inspired it was the fact that these two actors im familiar with when they were young? But also their characters I think would especially rely on each other in their younger/development years. Gally helping Newt have a voice, Newt helping Gally calm down.

They talk about everything and nothing. And sometimes, they don't need to talk at all.

Even if none of them remember home, or what home is supposed to be like. They’re the blind leading the blind, finding destinations in each other by calling out in the dark.

i didn't have it in myself to go with grace (maze runner) That's the look that, towards the beginning, had been filled with fondness no matter how stupid or bull-headed Thomas was being. The look that Thomas once thought said, "And in spite of it all, I still love you." That's the look that, eventually, when they started getting sick of each other, had transformed into being filled with frustration and anger, with dismissal, no matter how insignificant Thomas's fuck-up had been. The look that screamed, "Why do I even put up with you?" 

sins of the father (maze runner) Gally presses his lips together. Be quiet. Be quiet. He shakes his head again. "Then you're stupid," his father says, rising. His sandwich is still half-eaten. He's afraid if he breathes too hard, he'll cut himself on the teeth of the jaws clamped around him. Best play dead.

when monsters escape from under the bed (maze runner) He hasn't brought out that extra set of white sheets yet. The throw he's using as a blanket is thin and scratchy. He turned off the heat to save energy, and it's cold. He doesn't get up to fix any of this, because he's afraid to sleep. Instead, he lies there and imagines Thomas puttering around the kitchen, hyped up on the tails of an ass o'clock revelation, drinking disgusting coffee. Gally could really use an ass o'clock revelation right about now.

the second rule (maze runner) When he turns to look at Gally, torchlight flickering over his features, he looks like a normal kid. Like any other Glader, except for his eyes. His eyes are dark, glimmering like a bottomless well with an ink surface. Gally should ignore him. He shouldn't say anything to Thomas because talking is pointless, and Gally doesn't do pointless. No one is listening to him, so what does he have to say? And nothing he says will get through to Thomas, that's for sure. But when Gally glances at him, that stare reminds him of being bested at his own game, of the taste of dirt, of a jeering crowd surrounding him. Thomas has worldly eyes, eyes like the entire world is watching.

Hey nonnie. Sorry its taken a few days to get back to you. I was kinda holding onto your ask to look at it cause it made me smile.I didn't realise just how long its been since the last update wow. Im really sorry. Not gonna lie, my motivation for this fic had hit like rock bottom. It's hard to keep going sometimes when it seems like the fandom is pretty much dead and when no one talks to you your mind kinda goes. Eh. Whats the point? I mean these chapters are on average about 5,000 words each and i mean, it's not easy to write y'know? As much as i shouldnt need hand holding to write the fic sometimes itd be nice lol. Ive been focusing nore on writing for walking dead because theres a whole lot more interaction etc going on.Complaining over, sorry heh. But YOU, you wonderful nonnie you, have made my week.
