Another political deportation by the Trump administration. Like Mahmoud Khalil, Rasha Alawieh is a legal resident of the US who hasn’t even been accused of any crime. Unlike him, she’s a practicing medical doctor. The point of this is undoubtedly intimidation. They’re trying to show us that they can deport anyone, at any time, and for any reason or none at all. From the article:

“There is a shortage of American doctors working in Dr. Alawieh’s area of specialty, transplant nephrology. Foreign-born physicians play an important role in the field, according to experts.

Fear over immigration status could “harm the pipeline even more,” said Dr. George Bayliss, who works in the Brown Medicine kidney transplant program with Dr. Alawieh.

Her patients included individuals awaiting transplants and those dealing with the complex conditions that can occur after a transplant, Dr. Bayliss said. He called Dr. Alawieh “a very talented, very thoughtful physician.”

He also said he had not discussed politics with her.”

So much for making America healthy again.

Your response regarding the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil is deeply alarming. I am writing to express my strong opposition to the dangerous precedent this case sets—and to demand that your office take immediate action to uphold constitutional rights.

Arresting and revoking the residency of an individual for engaging in protest activity—without transparent evidence, due process, or criminal charges—amounts to political persecution. This is an outrageous violation of the First Amendment and a chilling signal that dissent, especially from immigrants, may now be met with state retaliation.

If Mr. Khalil committed a crime, he should be charged in court with the full rights afforded to all individuals under U.S. law. But if his arrest is based on speech or protest that is deemed politically undesirable, then we are witnessing a grave abuse of power—one that demands urgent investigation and public accountability.

You were elected to defend not just national security, but the Constitution. I urge you to speak out immediately against this overreach and to oppose any efforts—by this or any administration—that weaponize immigration law against political expression. Silence on this matter will be seen as complicity.

This is not a partisan issue. It is a test of our democracy. I call on you to meet this moment with courage and principle.

In a coordinated operation, the DEA, ERO Denver, HSI Denver, ATF, and local partners raided a makeshift nightclub in Adams County early this morning. The raid led to the seizure of drugs, cash, and weapons. The event, which was invite-only, had dozens of individuals connected to the notorious Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang in attendance. Nearly 50 illegal aliens were taken into custody as part of the operation. 🤔
