Jinx has vowed to take what the Pilties value most, in three days… Three days of heartbreak for Lux. Three days of desperation for Caitlyn and Vi. And three days of bloodshed in Zaun, below… But where is Jinx…?

A shiver went through Lux’s spine. The Clocktower lay empty; Jinx’s traps undisturbed since Lux’s return there on the night of the last caper. Traces of her presence lingered everywhere, but she wasn’t here… Their home lay empty, stripped of her. Seraphine joined her on the balcony looking out at Piltover. Her stage hovered nearby; a handy shortcut to circumvent much of the hazardous obstacle course only Lux knew the safe ways through. “It’s only been a day,” Seraphine said softly, at her side, “Be patient, Lux. It’s Jinx, she won’t lay low for long…” “She said three,” Lux chewed her lip, “We have today to find her. Tomorrow…tomorrow is when it’ll happen.” Her heart wasn’t pounding. That was precisely the problem. It thudded away, cold, steady, the ticking of a clock. “…whatever ‘it’ is,” Lux sighed out a lifeless breath. Blue eyes scanned the still horizon. Piltover bustled away, frozen in its busy-ness, a fantastical landscape painting alive with motion but unchanging, going nowhere, without the chaotic hand of Jinx… And there were no clouds of smoke, no flashes of light and noise. Nothing. Where are you Jinx…?

currently reading: i'm wrapping up a reread of the lodestar of ys by amy rae durreson, it's a pretty short read and one of my recent finds! I'm super in love with how she describes the world and builds atmosphere. she makes me want to tear pieces off of a loaf of bread and be able to eat cheese and be somewhere & sometime where I can hear birds + feel a spring thaw, and somehow she manages to do this during a wartime story and I would not have it any other way.

I'm thinking about jumping back into murderbot diaries after this and/or tamora pierce's beka cooper trilogy. it's reread season here babyyy

currently watching: actively? nothing. attention span? never heard of her. 

passively (ie i'll get back to them soon?eventually): x-files, teen wolf, pjo show, httyd race to the edge (doing it for my siblings in penance for every time I swear in front of them because if I don't want to hear babies say fuck I have to watch my language in return which is fair), dr who, winx club. I wanna watch doctor slump bc it has park shin hye AND park hyung sik and they were academic rivals (oh my god they were academic rivals) but I haven't gotten to it yet

maybe its just because im in a pensive little mood right now, but i’ll try to confine it all into a little white txtpost on a little social media website. but when i put words and ideas in a search bar with the thought of what im going to get back in results, im just taken by a strange... emotion, when i dont get what i expected.

‘omg theyre so online they just discovered surprise’ no, its not surprise. its like... its not relief either -- but there’s something to be said about how people are constantly worried that AI is going to take over their jobs because of recent jumps like chatgpt existing and how whenever i type things into the search and dont get what i want back im like ... yeah, maybe computers and the human mindreading capabilities of AI are a long ways off -- its like love and joy.

its love and joy that i came looking for, say, sand, and got waves and oceans and ships and even cats back. like, hello, cats? how is that in any way related to what i searched?

and i still end up reading the little textposts in the results i get back bc i love how the computer thought that was somehow related and how humanity is so tightly strung together in our minds and our feelings and words that everything crosses over into everything.

frantically writing the Ill Omen's sequel, it's approaching the halfway point and I am increasingly feral about it because I've been waiting for a couple hundred thousand words to get to some of these things.

by about chapter 15 i will be positively subhuman. gnawing off my own body parts. transmogrifying into a cryptid.

I will finish this monster before Season Two destroys my soul, I swear.

Being in the Good Omens fandom is so tight bc it's mainly full of 20-30 something year old Tumblr vets that probably had a SuperWhoLock/Doctor Who phase (bc of David Tennant, or for Michael Sheen, they had a Twilight phase) and are full of sad depressed queers that are sane and don't start drama, and honestly, I quite fucks with that ✌️
