The dim sunlight creeping between the curtains of the window of your shared bedroom, trying its best to reach your peaceful sleeping figure. You slowly opened your eyes to meet your boyfriend's soundless body sleeping right beside you like every night. You could never explain why but the feeling of his body resting beside you every night made you feel peaceful, made you feel safe. 

Just as much as you wanted to keep admiring his sleeping figure, you wanted to wake him up so he would cuddle you properly and also so you were the first human being on earth to wish him a happy birthday. Acting like you weren't pretending to wake him up, you moved closer to his chest and started to draw random patrons on his nose and cheeks. "What are you doing?" He asked you without opening his eyes. Just by the way he said that you could know he was annoyed by the fact that you were waking him up. "Happy birthday idiot." You whispered as you giggled.

"It's just 7am,are you sure we cannot stay in bed for a little longer?" He said once he checked the time. "Yes, I'm sure. Come on babe, it's your birthday!!" You said excitedly getting out of the bed. "Sometimes I feel like it is your birthday more than mine." He said referring to how excited you always got when it was someone's birthday. "Just stop whining and let me be." You said as you exited your bedroom, heading to the kitchen to prepare a delicious breakfast to celebrate his birthday. 

You spent about an hour locked in the kitchen preparing one of the best breakfast you have ever made. An hour that Donghyuk used for sleeping a bit more. Once you were done with preparing everything, you took all the dishes and headed to your bedroom. "You made me breakfast in bed? What did you do this time?" Donghyuk asked, raising an eyebrow as soon as you walked in. "Why do I always have to do something wrong when I make you breakfast in bed??" You asked frustrated. He just needed to give you that look to make you confess. "Okay maybe, just MAYBE I dropped a plate and it broke but that's it." You finally confessed, putting your hands up in defense. "You're unbearable." He said biting one of the heart shaped toasts you made. "And you're a pain in the ass but here we are." You replied, making him laugh. Some people would think you two didn't get along so well by the way you talked to each other but for you it was the maximum expression of how much you loved each other. Weird way to show love but unique, just like you two.

I need to take this chance: ikon's Donghyuk, cafe, two people (that obviously have big crushes on each other but none wants to make a move) somehow end up going out for the first time. Does that make any sense? Maybe someone was supposed to join but got caught up in something and couldn't and they just unofficially turned this into a date? (is this too long? Sorry 🙏)

“So..” He looks up from his phone and laughs awkwardly. “Junhoe..”

“Is definitely not coming?”

“I’m pretty sure he never woke up in the first place.” I curse in my head at my best friend’s dumdumb behavior and look up at Donghyuk. Wait so that means.. “Looks like it’s just you and me.”

“Does look like it..” We fall into an awkward silence and I look around the coffee shop. It was nearly empty, we were basically alone. Just me and Donghyuk.

“We hang out a lot, but I just realized it would be the first time we only hang out the two of us.”

“Yeah, that’s true.” I smile at him. God this was so awkward. I bring my drink’s straw to my mouth and he looks at me with an interrogating look. I give one back and he smiles awkwardly.

“You always order that, what is it?” “Mhh? Oh, it’s just Humm.. Melon milk tea with jelly. Do—Do you want to try it?” He smiles at me as if I read his mind. I bring it up for him to take but he just wraps his hand around mine and brings it up to his mouth to take a small sip. I could feel my cheeks blushing at the simple contact, but I was also curious to what he was going to say. “So?”

“It’s.. good! It’s super good. There’s honey in there too?”

“Yes~”

“Here try mine.” He gives me his drink directly to my mouth and I just have to lean in a bit to take the straw between my lips. I take a small sip and hum at the sugary drink. He smiles at me waiting for an answer and I can’t help but giggle.

“This drink suits you.”

“How?”

“It’s soft and sweet, I love it.”

“You love it? It’s like me?” He smiles with a hint of teasing in his tone.

“Don’t make such a big deal out of it..” I try to hide my embarrassed smile and he ends up laughing.

“So.. If I ask you to make this a date because Junhoe didn’t show up.. You’ll say no, because that would be too much of a big deal right?”

“I— No what?”

“No? So let’s make this a date?” He smiles at me and my cheeks feel warm.

“Sure~”

Hanbin:

Hanbin is a regular at a smaller café, hidden away from sight, but at the same time cosy and popular for the ones knowing about it. The employees know Hanbin since he’s pretty chatty and they respect his privacy, not exposing him on social media and so.

You however, are a new worker there and you happen to be the one taking his orders on an early morning. Hanbin being his usual self, starts small talking with you to get since he noticed you being an unfamiliar face.

That only makes you smile more genuine at the handsome male in front of you. After a while of thinking hard and skimming through your mind for his familiar face, you scrunch up your nose and pout, a habit you do unconsciously when you’re annoyed at yourself.

The idol notices of course and asks you immediately if there’s something wrong, wanting to know if you’re upset with him. “No, I’m just disappointed at myself for not being able to remember such a handsome man, I swear I’d want to remember your pretty face.”

Your blunt answer makes him stutter and flush bright red, not having expected that at all. Hanbin still accepts your number and saves it on his phone.

Jinhwan:

It’s a warm spring day on a lazy Sunday and Jinhwan’s schedule is completely blank, leaving him to do whatever he wants. He finds himself in a relaxing book café, loving how quiet it is with a handful of customers- all of them enjoying a book.

He’s that as an opportunity to drop his mask, feeling confident not being recognised here, especially when so many has their nose buried in books. It takes him a while to decide on what to order and he has to crane his neck some due to his short stature.

Your sudden chough for attention makes him jump slightly and almost yelp. However, he can’t bring himself to send you an annoyed expression, even though your handsome features are pulled up in a smug smirk.

“Are you able to see anything from down there?” Your comment makes Jinhwan’s eyes twitch, but he ignores it- not wanting to create a scene. After ordering something way over the top with extra shit just because he can while ignoring other smooth comments from you, Jay finds a perfect spot, hidden away just in case.

You personally, comes up to his table after a few minutes with his order and a playful apology playing at the tip of your tongue. With a few more flirtatious comments, you leave him flustered before you can see his reaction to the small note along with his coffee – your number.

Yunhyeong:

Song is a known food lover and he has no problems with stepping into a new café to check it out. It’s a little past 5pm when he walks into your coffee shop.

Before he steps up to the cashier, Yunhyeong takes his time to admire how neat and simple it looks in the small shop. You have already noticed him by then and you check him out with no shame as he looks around, not taking notice of your intense stare.

He orders quick and quite confidently, knowing what he likes and what he wants. “Will that be all, beautiful?” All of Yunhyeong’s previous confidence falters at those words and he has to look behind himself just to check that he was the one the comment was meant for.

Stuttering out a yes after that, he sits down by an empty table trying to calm himself down and make his flushed state disappear. Yet he can’t keep his eyes off you, which you notice and winks at him in response.

When his order is called out, Song feels himself grow even more nervous and he can’t bring himself to meet your eyes as you hand him his drink. Probably for the best seeing as your number along with another pickup line is written on the napkin you hand him with his coffee.

Bobby:

Late nights and starting early for yet another long studio session aren’t the best combination, which brings Bobby to your workplace an early Monday morning. You’ve just opened and he’s the first customer to arrive.

His attire and still sleep-swollen face give away his condition, but he still looks good for being up so early.

Bobby only orders a big black coffee and you feel sorry for the handsome you’ve just met, tells him it’s on the house for being so handsome. At first, he looks extremely confused at your comment before his face morphs into a more awake and happy expression.

It’s cute how handsome and flustered he looks and manage to pull off, which you tell him causing more colour to grow in his cheeks. His coffee doesn’t take too long to make and he still stands by the cashier as you pour it into a cup, which gives you a perfect opportunity to flirt more with him.

When he leaves the café, it’s with a shy smile on his lips and your number saved on his phone.

Breaking up through text. Tragic, truly tragic. What’s worse?

Telling a friend to tell you that they’re breaking up with you.

You’re in the library, trying to study at a big, white desk in an open space between shelves when Donghyuk slowly walks up to you. He’s smiling awkwardly and you can immediately tell that something is wrong.

“What’s up?” you ask him. He chuckles awkwardly, trying to carefully think before he speaks.

“So, [y/n], you never really liked your s/o that much, right?” he asks you, smiling that sweet smile of his.

“Liked? I love them... I still do. What are you saying?”

A pause. Donghyuk smiles, clearly hiding something. He takes a deep breath.

“They don’t wanna be with you anymore. They told me to tell you,” he says all at once. 

Your entire world collapses.

Your head falls on the desk before you; Donghyuk barely manages to place his hand under your head so you won’t hurt yourself.

The tears come naturally. You don’t need to sob or try, they just flow while you get lost in your thoughts.

How could they do that to you? You loved them so much. And why couldn’t they tell you? Why through Donghyuk? 

“It’s not real, right?” you ask. You already know it’s real, though. You can tell from Donghyuk’s body language.

“Hey, do you wanna go somewhere else?” Donghyuk asks.

“Please stay with me,” you croak out. In the quiet of the library, Donghyuk manages to hear your words and his heart aches for you. He didn’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but here he is, one hand under your head, watching you cry.

I’d stay with you until the end of time, if you’d let me, he thinks.

“I’m here, [y/n]. But I think it would be best if I took you home. Here, let me pack up your stuff.”

As he neatly places your things in your bag, you watch with wide, red eyes.

He then gently places his arm around your shoulder as he helps you up, walking you out of the library.

You hold his waist for support since your legs are practically lifeless, your feet dragging across the blue carpet.

How could they do this?

Your nails unknowingly sink into Donghyuk’s skin, and he winces. 

Not even a warning? No goodbye?

He writhes under your touch as your grip tightens.

“Ah,” he says out loud, finally waking you from your trance.

“Oh, sorry,” you mumble, moving your hand away.

“You can hurt me, it’s fine,” Donghyuk says, giving you a small smile. His eyes are brimming with tears from the pain, and as if you aren’t already hurting enough, something else within you breaks. Seeing him on the edge of tears hurts your heart.

Had you ever felt this way about your s/o? You can’t remember...

But even if they’re gone, even if they left you, at least Donghyuk is there to help you leave the library and walk to your house. At least he’s there.

You couldn't tell if you felt his eyes on you, thus why you turned to look, or if you just wanted to look.

Perhaps it was a mixture of both. Vernon was on the opposite side of the line made by your friends. Everyone was checking the map, ready for the little adventurous activity that they invited you and Vernon to. Of course, you didn't expect Vernon to be there. You knew that some of the SEVENTEEN members were coming, but you just expected Seungkwan, Mingyu, Seokmin, Soonyoung, and Chan, since they usually liked these kinds of activities. Your prediction was correct but this time, Vernon came along instead of Soonyoung.

Seeing Vernon made you nervous, or so you thought. Your heart was racing, thumping out of your chest. It hadn't even been a week since you two kissed, and of course, things had gotten awkward. You couldn't call or text him. You had no courage to make a move and Vernon, well, you could understand how he must've been feeling.

Shaking away your thoughts about Vernon, you turned to focus on Seungkwan and Mingyu, who were explaining the game.

“Alright, everybody. Remember, we cannot use our phones at all. For this activity, our millionaire, Mingyu, has bought and provided these buttons for all of us. If you are in trouble, just press the button and the rescue team will be coming to your aid. The buttons also have trackers. He rented this entire place and asked our Going Seventeen production team to come out of their way to create this game for us,” Seungkwan explained.

He continued, “The destination is up the mountain, but beware, there are many shops and places you can stop by, any of them can be the victorious place, so keep that in mind. You can also find hints hidden in the forest about the destination.

You won't find out which place it is until 5 pm, so you have two hours to explore each shop or building. After every 30 minutes, 2 shops will be eliminated, and if anyone is residing in the shops that are eliminated, they will have to come back down here or stay in the eliminated shop until the game is over.”

“Whatever, I'm just going to the top,” Seokmin commented, making everyone laugh.

“I don't think that's a good idea,” Vernon replied. His chill, calm, and somewhat deep voice made your heart flutter.

“Anyway, everyone will be split into pairs. The bet is that if you win, everyone here has to pay each member of the duo 20 dollars,” Seungkwan continued. Your ears were listening to the game but your eyes were fixated only on Vernon, who was standing still at the opposite side of the long line. “If you waste all of your money in these shops, then you would have to face a harsher punishment decided by the winning duo.”

“Does everyone understand?” Chan asked, obviously getting tired of the long explanation. “I would rather get a head start in climbing this large mountain than listen.”

Everyone, including you and Vernon, laughed.

“Let's just hurry up and choose sticks for partners. Let's start with Vernon. Once you choose somebody's stick, they become your partner.”

Vernon nodded in compliance with the rules and drew out a stick without hesitation. He looked at the stick with a smile and then flipped it around to show the other 10 friends. The writing on the stick was too small for you to see but Seungkwan excitedly shouted.

He clapped. “Y/N! Congratulations, you and Vernon are a pair.”

You must've looked like a lost doe. Your eyes were open with shock and your heart was racing. Out of everyone, it had to be you. You didn't know whether to complain or not so you just smiled and looked over at Vernon.

Your eyes met and for a second, you felt time stop, as if you were taken in by his beautiful brown eyes.

The mountain didn't have a particular road up. It was surrounded by trees and forestry, so it was going to be a hard road up. There were a total of 12 shops and 6 pairs of people. The winning shop would be revealed on the two-hour mark, so 6 shops would be eliminated since 2 shops are eliminated every 30 minutes.

After all the pairs were decided, you and Vernon walked toward the left side of the mountain with the map in your hand. The map wasn't very useful though and was hard to read. There was only one stairway up the mountain but no one took it because there wasn't a shop near there.

You were using the map as a way to avoid looking at Vernon. Now that you were walking with him side by side, it was like your lips could suddenly recall the warmth of your first kiss with Vernon.

Vernon noticed you staring at the map for a long time without saying a word. He knew you were confused and was just using it as a way to avoid looking at him. He was nervous too, but he knew, that if he wanted to get close to you, he had to be a bit braver.

“Y/N,” He asked, pausing. You paused as well when you saw him pause in the corner of your eye. “How desperate are you to win?”

You looked up from the map and met Vernon's eyes.

“I'm not that competitive when it comes to these things.”

Your competitiveness was moderate.

“Want to take a walk instead?” Vernon asked, his voice as soft as ever. “Or if you want to-”

“I think a walk will be nice, but let's still participate in the game. We don't have to be fast to visit every shop or see what's at the top of the mountain,” You replied nervously. “We can take it slow...”

Vernon smiled softly and at the same time, you two began walking, toward the lonely staircase.

There was an awkward silence as you two walked. You both wanted to fill the silence but you could only swallow back your words. Vernon cleared his throat.

“How are you doing?” He asked, turning to you. His eyes first caught sight of your lips.

“I'm fine... how about you?” You replied, glancing at him. “Are things going fine for you?”

“Yeah, it's like every day for me.”

The short conversation ended there and more silence filled the air as you two walked.

“The weather is nice today, isn't it?” Vernon commented, looking down at the floor, counting each step he took.

“Yeah. It's bright and sunny but also a bit cloudy.”

There was a slight silence again.

“I've been thinking of watching a movie lately, is there any movie that you want to watch?” Vernon suddenly asked.

You turned to him, a bit startled by his sudden question but quickly answered. “Well, I don't mind what movie it is. I think every movie deserves a try regardless of the genre, cast, or plot synopsis.”

Vernon chuckled softly, making your heart flutter.

“Do you like watching movies in the theater better or at home?” Vernon asked, sounding a bit more comfortable. The atmosphere was shifting and you could feel it too.

“It doesn't matter to me,” You replied as you two continued walking up the steps. “How about you, Vernon? What's your preference?”

“Both of them have their charm,” Vernon chuckled softly, scratching the back of his head shyly. “I like both of them...”

You two didn't know how much time went by. You guys were just walking up the stairs at the same gradual pace while getting caught up in your conversations. You recalled hearing some announcements go through the speaker regarding the eliminations of the shops, but you were so busy talking with Vernon that you didn't hear which shops were eliminated. Vernon could have paid less attention to the announcement.

You two hadn't even stumbled upon one shop in the entire journey up until now.

You looked forward and saw a small coffee shop. Vernon was gazing at you instead of forward, so when you pointed it out, he finally came to realize how far you two had gone up. It was like you two were on a hike.

“Should we try this shop? I completely forgot about the game!” You said, laughing softly. “Let's go inside. It's a coffee shop too, we can refill our energy.”

Vernon smiled and nodded. “Alright. Is it eliminated though?”

“I think eliminated shops would have a sign on them,” You replied. You naturally took Vernon's arm and you two went a bit faster up the steps into the coffee shop.

Upon entering, there was a small ding of a bell. Since it was the first shop you two came upon, you both didn't know what to expect.

There was no one in the shop but there were notes on the counter, along with cans of coffee in many varieties, soda, and other drinks prepared in a cooler. There was also a jar for money, which was the payment place for a certain drink.

“I'll take a can of coffee,” You said, taking out your wallet. “It seems like there were people here before us.”

Vernon nodded and read the note on the counter out loud. “There are cameras aimed at the counter and you will be charged double for taking drinks without paying, or stealing money from the jar. We hope you all do not cause an inconvenience.”

You placed a few dollars in the jar and grabbed two cans of coffee, one for you and one for Vernon. You handed one can to Vernon with a smile.

“This is for you,” You said, gazing at him with a smile.

“Thanks,” Vernon replied.

You both sat down on one of the seats, deciding to stay here for the rest of the game. You both didn't know what time it was since none of you were wearing watched but thankfully, the coffee shop you two were residing in had a wall clock. There were around 15 minutes before the game ended.

It was silent for a moment. You both stared out the window, sitting across from each other, sharing the same table. The sound of nature was calming and the beauty of it was breathtaking.

You turned to look at Vernon but what your eyes looked at first was his lips. You had gotten so comfortable with him that the kiss didn't even occur to you again. Staring at his lips made your heartbeat accelerate.

You just felt the urge to ask, “On the day we kissed, why did you want to be my first kiss?”

Vernon froze for a few seconds before slowly placing the coffee can down on the table.

You didn't even realize you asked the question out loud.

Vernon replied, calmly, as if it was nothing, but his heart was beating like crazy and his nervousness was at its max. “I like you, that's why.”

Your eyes locked and you could hear your heartbeat quicken. With a burning sensation in your body, you felt blush crawl up your cheeks.

“You like me?”

“Yeah,” Vernon said. Both of your voices were serious. “And if you allowed me to, I'd kiss you again.”

That wasn't something Vernon meant to say out loud, but in front of you, he would spill all the beans. He didn't want to lie to you about anything and wanted you to know everything about him.

You gulped, glancing from his lips to his eyes. With your arms crossed on the table, you leaned forward to kiss him. You were nervous but you knew you wanted it, and if he wanted to kiss, maybe he'd come closer too.

With your eyes closed, you couldn't see Vernon lean in. He had his arms crossed on the table just like you and he came in as close as he could so that your lips could touch.

And there, you had your second kiss.

It was sweet and warm. His lips were soft and his kissing style was gentle. Though you weren't a professional and didn't know what you were doing, your lips followed the flow of his as he led the kiss with his hands gently against your neck.

An announcement went off from the speakers of the coffee shop, causing the two of you to flinch and jerk backward. You accidentally hit your elbow against the table very hard while Vernon hit his knee just as painfully.

“Congratulations! The coffee shop was the victorious destination!” The speaker beamed. “If you have won, please take the prize envelope under the cooler.”

You and Vernon looked at each other, laughing while caressing your body parts that bumped into something from surprise. You both couldn't help but grin at each other, unable to stop yourselves from laughing.

You two took the envelope, that had the winning verification, and walked back down the mountain to received your prize money from your other friends.

No one knew why you two looked so happy when you guys arrived at the starting point.

They could only wonder what happened.

Author’s Note: This is my first attempt at writing a reaction. I really hope you enjoy this one. You can always request reactions/imagines for other groups/idols as well.

 He had the biggest smile on his face while he watched you and your members get your award. No one really knew except for your members but Hanbin helped a lot while writing and producing a few of the songs so it felt even more special knowing he could help you all achieve such a great award. When he saw the tears welling up in your eyes while you gave your speech, all he wanted to do was run on the stage and take you in his arms however he knew that this was something he had to wait for until everything was over. 

Just like Hanbin, he was beyond proud of you. He was normally a quite content guy, not really showing his emotions however he just couldn’t help the smile from spreading on his lips and even though you were shedding a few tears, he still felt really happy for you. He knew you were quite emotional and you had already told him that you would probably cry if you really got this award so it wasn’t a surprise to him to see you with a few tears running down your cheeks. The fans also noticed the way he was smiling whenever you were talking or whenever you got shown on the big screen yet at this moment he didn’t really care. All he cared about was you and your success.

In his head, he was already thinking about what he could cook for you after this award show. He wanted to reward you, wanting to cook all of your favourite food. “Hey, YN is crying.”, he suddenly heard Jinhwan say, Yoonhyung’s head snapping up to see you standing there with tears in your eyes. His lips formed a pout as he watched you talking to the fans. He didn’t like seeing you cry but once you made a joke about how you were such an emotional mess, crying at every little thing, he couldn’t help but laugh with everyone else in the arena. 

He was a bit surprised to see you crying up there. You were normally as cheerful as him however he knew that this was such an important award for you and your group. You had two comebacks that didn’t work out the way you wanted to. You wanted to try something new however the fans didn’t really like it but as soon as you all went back to your original style, all your fans helped you stream your song and by the album which ended with you all standing on this stage, receiving this award.

DK would be beyond proud of you, trying to hold back his own tears, knowing how hard you worked to get to where you were now. No one knew that you were dating hence he couldn’t show his tears nor how proud he was of you but he told himself to tell you over and over again how happy he was as soon as the two of you were alone, congratulating you with lots of hugs and kisses.

“You see that? That’s my girlfriend!”, he whispered into one of the boys’ ears, beyond proud of what you achieved. He tried to be as calm as possible, knowing no one was allowed to find out that the two of you were dating even though there had been quite a few rumours already. However, as soon as he saw you tearing up while talking to the fans, he was as quiet as a mouse, listening to everything you had to say. The smile soon back on his lips as he saw you walking off the stage, cuddling the award.

“Look at who’s crying.”, his members teased him, knowing how much you meant to him. They loved teasing him about you. They could easily get to him when they talked about you but he tried his best to ignore his hyungs and focus only on you, looking at you with a loving smile on his lips. Just like all the older one’s he was so proud of you, knowing you helped choreograph this masterpiece of a song.
