a/n: Many, many thanks to @ga-yuu whose translations made this fic possible! 🙇🏻‍♀️ I hope it could be to your liking! I've loved Yori silently for almost four years now, and finally decided to express that love in a lil story... and I enjoyed every second of that 😭❤ Special tag for @the-bird-and-the-flute because it's her boy!!

A moment of weakness can cost you an eternity of regret, sometimes. If Yoshino leaves this room with anything else than a beet red face, it would be the moral of the story.
Promising Yoritomo everything he wants for his birthday was merely that, a moment of weakness. A seiitaishogun like him, what exactly does he not have, that she could give him? Those thoughts are some troublesome pests to have your head swamped with, when said seiitaishogun's birthday is quickly approaching… Naturally, when he cockily asked Yoshino what is she going to do for his birthday, accompanied by a toe-curling kiss to distract, without thinking, she said everything.
Now, the moment of the truth has come, and Yoshino takes her seat in front of a smirking Yoritomo in all his birthday glory. He must be enjoying this.
"What are you waiting for? I thought you'd begin by greeting me for my birthday."
Except, I already did. First thing in the morning. Yoshino doesn't say any of this out loud, but an incisive man like Yoritomo can read one's gaze just fine, there's no need for spoken words.
"Happy Birthday, Yoritomo-sama. May you stay healthy and bring glory to the shogunate in the following year, too."
Yoritomo frowns, visibly dissatisfied with Yoshino's overly formal extending of wishes.
"Like a lover would, Yoshino."
Looking down only to quickly raise her head again, Yoshino looks him in the eye and a bright smile stretches out across her mouth. It's like flowers are blooming around her.
"Happy Birthday, dear! It's a pleasure spending another birthday with you, please be happy by my side this year, too! Can I hug you?"
"Hooh…" Despite his prolonged humming, Yoritomo doesn't necessarily see fakeness in her eyes, as he knows for a fact she genuinely thinks all of this… besides, he's won over by the initiation of physical touch that was cleverly added at the end. A theatrical sigh and arms opened to invite her for a hug, he barely hides his satisfaction.
"See, it wasn't so hard. If this is troubling you, how are you going to give me the rest of what I want for my birthday?"
Already returning the warm embrace, Yoshino shudders. "The rest…?"
"Well, you promised me everything that I wish for, isn't that right? We shouldn't waste any more time. Let's see…"
The light pats that he gives her are working wonders about putting her at ease, and how much easier this could be if only he didn't abuse his powers and suddenly decided he wished to cuddle the day away…! Does that not sound perfect to him?! Yoshino finds it hard to understand him sometimes.
"Why don't you go fetch me your hairbrush? It's been awhile since I last brushed your hair. Ah, and please bring your other hair accessories too, while at it."
The comforting embrace is gone. Yoritomo sits contently, resting his chin on a hand propped on his knee until the accessory box and the brush are settled down before him. He shifts a bit and pats the mat in front of him, beckoning her to take a seat.
Yoshino complies with his unspoken request and sits down, fate foreknown. She undoes her hair tie to make it easier for her lord, and his fingers come in contact with her hair just a second later.
It feels… very good. Just as it always does: Yoritomo is gentle and precise while handling her hair, careful not to pull too hard and managing easily with the knots he encounters.
His chill fingers grazing the tips of her ears make her jump a little, and she earns a chuckle for it.
"Stay still now."
Easier said than done. Especially when the contents of the box come in action, as she is left to wonder just what is his wonder of a mind up to, as his hands are busy skillfully separating and braiding sections of her grayish-brown hair, then pinning them up to the upper back side of her head. It seems like a ribbon or two are thrown in the mix, too.
"All done. You might turn to the mirror now."
Guided by his large hands on her shoulders, Yoshino turns in the direction of the mirror without standing up… only to take in the hairstyle Yoritomo did for her. He left a large section of her hair down, but the rest he pinned up on two braid loops, secured with ribbons.
"It's… It's…"
"It's very cute. Such a great look on you."
Her face is heating up. Walking around in the palace with this - irrefutably, cute - hairstyle, would be…
"Oh and you're not taking it off until I tell you. I want to look at you more."
Yes, just as expected.
The next thing he asks is to be hand-fed sweets, and Yoshino's fingers tremble as his warm lips and tongue come in contact with them. Once that's done, he states that he slept unwell the previous night, demanding a bit of massage on his shoulders. Soon after, he concludes that praise is well in order, instructing Yoshino to bow down her head for pats, like a puppy. It's embarrassing to no end, and her face hasn't lost its flushed red color for a mere second through all of this.
"Hmm… I keep thinking, Yoshino, your birthday wish wasn't half bad, but weren't you a bit reserved with it?"
Yoritomo moves his hand from the top of her head to under her chin, tipping it and thus making her look at him again. When she does, she discovers his other hand pointing a finger to his own cheek. He wants a kiss.
Crawling yet closer to the exacting shogun, Yoshino squeezes her eyes shut and launches herself puckered-lips-first at Yoritomo's cheek.
Chu!
Thankfully, her kiss lands on its intended place and not directly on his lips, as he'd easily manipulated the situation by a simple shift of his face.
"Yoshinoo… the other cheek, too."
Chu!
As a smooch blooms on the other side of his face too, Yoritomo's smile grows wider. It looks pretty self-satisfactory, but Yoshino is far from the thought he's done with her. In fact, she has an idea of what is going to follow.
Unexpectedly, Yoritomo sighs and removes his hands from her waist as a signal for her to get up.
"As sweet as our time is together, I should go."
Duty calls, and Yoshino finds herself making a genuinely surprised noise despite her own wishes for this moment to eventually come, just awhile ago. What she thought would be her sweet salvation is now leaving her disappointed. Is it because she thought Yoritomo would want her to…?
"Hmm? What's on your mind?"
"Yoritomo-sama…"
Balling her hands into fists, Yoshino powers up with the thought of giving him something he truly wishes for, for this birthday - not just a kiss he normally deserves on any other day for simply being her loving partner, but rather, the boldness he wants to see from her. So pulling him in by his clothes, she clashes their lips together, poking out her tongue to seek permission for an entrance - which he quickly grants. She kisses him with growing confidence, sweetly but passionately, not minding the small sounds that inevitably fall from her lips. She doesn't let go until she's well breathless and he - thoroughly kissed.
Opening his eyes to look at him, she sees… a familiar sadistic smirk and sparkling light-blue eyes.
"Yoshinooo… Who thought you could be so naughty? And here I thought I had to stop playing with you. Ha! Very well then, I will be more demanding, since you're gladly giving me even more than I asked for."
Oh no. Oh no, no, no, this was simply meant to keep him well-satisfied for the rest of the day, but this…!
"I'll be off now, a birthday is no excuse to be slacking off on work. But once the evening comes…"
Yoritomo trails a single finger on Yoshino's rosy left cheek, making her instinctively face away so he could whisper in her ear.
"Once the evening comes, I'll be taking the rest of that everything that you promised to give me."

Minamoto No Yoritomo: Chapter 24
Chapter 23
♡———♡
As I looked at him longingly, our breaths mingled...
In the darkness with my eyes closed... our lips softly met.
Yoshino: Mmm...
(I like him)
(I like Yoritomo-sama)
The core of my head tingles, and I forget everything else.
Before I know it, Yoritomo-sama's tongue slips in and tickles the inside of my mouth.
Yoshino: Nn... ah...
My skin grows hot at the sweet sound that escapes unconsciously.
Our lips part with a fleeting watery sound... and Yoritomo-sama lets out a faint breath.
Yoritomo: You're having a melting reaction, aren't you?
Yoshino: I'm not...
Yoritomo: You are. Or are you not aware of it?
Yoritomo: Then I can make you aware of it.
Even though he's saying teasing words, Yoritomo-sama's eyes are filled with unconcealable heat.
It's embarrassing, but it's also unbearably joyful and makes my chest ache.
(But I've been...)
I knew deep down that my body was showing the exact reaction he was teasing me about.
Yoshino: It's not fair... You're the only one who's so composed, Yoritomo-sama.
(I'm already overwhelmed...)
Yoritomo: I'm not particularly composed.
Yoritomo: I've wanted to kiss you like this for a long time.
Yoshino: Is that so...?
Yoritomo: Yes.
(...I didn't know being loved with the same intensity could be so fulfilling.)
Happiness fills me as I'm held tightly and his face is buried in my shoulder.
Yoritomo: But...
Yoritomo: Now that I've kissed you, you're even more enticing than I imagined, and I don't know what to do with you.
Yoshino: ...That's not true.
Yoritomo: It is. You're a troublesome one.
His breath tickles my neck, and I squirm.
Yoritomo: I guess I'll have to teach you properly after all?
Yoshino: Ah...
His lips touched my pale skin, and my shoulders jumped in surprise.
Yoritomo: Look, what's wrong?
Yoshino: Ah... wait a moment... ah...
Yoritomo: I can't hear you.
A soft touch trails down my neck, and wet kisses are dropped.
Each time, a sweet shiver runs through me...
(...I feel strange.)
(Is this what happens when you're touched by someone you truly love?)
Even if I had the strength, I definitely couldn't escape his embrace.
Yoritomo: You're cute.
The large palm that was supporting my back suddenly loosens its grip...
(...!)
Helplessly, my vision flips, and I'm gently lowered onto the bedding.
Yoshino: Yoritomo-sama...
Yoritomo: What is it, Yoshino?
My voice, which had called out his name in desperation, melts into a whimper.
Yoritomo: ...I can't take it anymore.
Yoritomo: That face that says "do whatever you want with me."
His intense gaze falls on me, and my skin flushes with shame.
Yoritomo-sama's hair, which covers me, sways softly.
Yoshino: I... but...
(When you look at me like that... touch me like that, I can't help it.)
Yoritomo: ...You're truly an unmanageable woman.
Yoshino: ...Nn...
His lips lightly press against mine, silencing my protest, and then quickly parts.
He then gently bumps his forehead against mine...
Yoritomo: It's a shame.
Yoritomo: If you were in perfect health, I'd take you right here, but...
(Take...!)
Yoshino: ...Please don't say such things.
Yoritomo sits up, chuckles lowly, and gently strokes my cheek.
Yoritomo: Don't worry.
Yoritomo: I intended to savor the pleasure after settling the war anyway.
Yoritomo: When everything is over, I'll torment you to my heart's content... and cherish you.
Yoshino: That's not reassuring at all!
If he touches me any more than this, I'll surely melt with happiness.
I look up at Yoritomo, completely at a loss.
Yoritomo: Then don't be reassured.
Yoritomo: Remember what I said and be adorably nervous.
(Oh no...)
Yoritomo: Understand? When this battle is settled, I'll claim you.
Yoritomo: You can pretend to forget and resist from scratch, but I won't stop next time.
(...Even if he doesn't say it, I'm already his.)
With just a little touch, I was easily made aware of that fact.
Yoshino: ...Mean.
I turn away, and instead of replying, I gently grasp Yoritomo's hand.
Yoshino: You're a terrible person, Yoritomo-sama.
Yoritomo: Have you come to dislike me?
(No way.)
Yoshino: It's too late for that now.
Hearing my answer, Yoritomo laughs contentedly above me.
Yoritomo: Then sleep a little longer.
Yoritomo: If you can eat, I'll bring you some food later.
Yoshino: Yes, thank you very much.
Carefully wrapped in a blanket, the heat from her body, which had been fanned just a moment ago, gradually changed into a comfortable warmth.
The feeling of being cherished made her feel a little ticklish.
Yoshino: I'll recover quickly... so I can be by your side again.
Yoshino: You'll be back on the battlefield tomorrow, won't you?
Yoritomo: Don't rush.
Yoritomo: You're the only one who has the power to counter Yoshitsune and Kurama's curse,
Yoritomo: But Morinaga and I have already discussed a plan in case you don't recover in time.
(Yoritomo is being considerate.)
(But I still hate not being useful... so I need to rest my body.)
As Yoritomo-sama gently stroked my hair, I began to doze off.
Yoshino: I'm sure I'll be able to get up tomorrow.
Yoritomo: I want to see Morinaga and the rest of the soldiers and make sure they're okay.
Yoritomo: You idiot. You're the one who needs to be checked on.
Yoritomo: Everyone was so worried about you. Put their minds at ease.
Yoshino: Y-yes...
Her eyelids grew heavy, and she slowly drifted off to sleep.
-
(Hmm... It's bright.)
I slowly opened my eyes to see the morning light filtering through the tent.
(What happened yesterday? Yoritomo-sama is...?)
I looked around with a hazy head,
Yoshino: Ah...
Yoritomo was sitting with his back lightly against a pile of luggage, his eyes closed.
(Sleeping in a place like this... Did he stay with me the whole time?)
As I got up from the bedding, she felt a slight dizziness.
(I'm still not back to normal. But I can move properly.)
Yoshino: Thank goodness.
After a sigh of relief, I slowly walked over and knelt in front of Yoritomo-sama.
(What a beautiful face.)
The morning light softly illuminated his masculine face with its high nose bridge.
(I'm really in love with this man...)
Suddenly feeling embarrassed, I tried to stand up when,
Yoshino: Ah!
My arm was grabbed.
Yoritomo: Yoshino.
(Yoritomo-sama...!)
His navy blue eyes, instantly filled with a strong light, reflected my image.
Yoritomo: Good morning. You're already up?
Yoshino: Ah... Good morning.
Yoritomo: There's still time before the battle. You can rest a little longer.
His slightly hoarse voice was the only indication that he had just woken up.
Yoritomo: How are you feeling?
Yoshino: Thanks to you, I think I'm fine now.
Yoshino: Even though I'm still dragging around the lingering fatigue of a cold, yesterday, my body had felt as heavy as lead, but that all feels like a lie now.
Yoritomo: Is that so? That's good to hear.
Yoshino: Yes!
(Oh, but...)
Yoshino: If Yoritomo-sama doesn't sleep properly in bed, his fatigue won't go away...
Yoritomo: I'm used to it. I slept plenty for a battlefield.
Yoshino: Well, if that's the case, then it's fine...
(...That's right!)
I look around and see that my luggage has also been brought into the tent.
I search through it and take out some pills I had prepared beforehand.
Yoshino: Here you go, Yoritomo-sama.
Yoritomo: Hm?
Yoshino: It's a tonic. It's effective in relieving fatigue.
Yoritomo: What are you talking about?
With a slightly exasperated look, Yoritomo slapped my cheeks.
Yoritomo: You're the one who needs nourishment. Your face still doesn't look good.
(Ugh...)
Yoshino: Of course, I was planning to take it too, but it would definitely be better for you to take it, Yoritomo-sama!
Yoshino: You have an important body that leads everyone.
Yoritomo: --I understand.
Yoritomo casually took the pill and put it in his mouth...
(Huh?)
He pulled my neck towards him and kissed me.
Yoshino: Hmm... uh...
(Wh-Why?)
A deft tongue delivers medicine, a faint bitterness spreading in the mouth.
Yet the lingering sensation of departing lips is unbearably sweet.
Yoshino: Just a moment, Yoritomo-sama...
Yoritomo: Here.
Water is handed over before any complaint can be voiced.
(Geez, really...)
Reluctantly swallowing, a resentful gaze is directed at Yoritomo.
Yoritomo: There, there. You were so good at drinking it all up.
Yoshino: I can drink by myself, you know!
Yoritomo: Is that so?
Yoritomo: I can't.
(......)
His long fingers pick up the pill and it touches my lips.
Yoritomo: Let me drink it, Yoshino.
(...Yoritomo-sama is really sly.)
I can't refuse his sweet teasing because I've somehow grown to love his mischievous smile.
Yoshino: Mmm.
I obediently take the medicine and hesitantly press my lips against Yoritomo-sama's.
(His face is hot.)
Even after the short kiss ends, the slight fever in my skin doesn't subside.
Yoritomo: Thank you for your effort.
Yoshino: But... Yoritomo-sama, aren't you embarrassed?
Yoritomo: Not at all.
Yoritomo finishes drinking his water with a cool expression.
Yoritomo: Why should I be embarrassed to kiss a woman I'm in love with?
Yoshino: We only became lovers yesterday?
Yoritomo: It took quite a while to get to this point. I'm allowed this much, right?
Yoshino: That's going a bit too far... I think your reasoning is a bit forceful...
Yoritomo: You're not used to it, are you?
(The truth is, I don't mind it at all, so it's troubling.)
Yoritomo gives a small laugh at my pursed lips.
Yoritomo: Before I went into battle today, I wanted to kiss you.
Yoritomo: ...Would you believe me if I said that?
Yoshino: ...Is that true?
Yoritomo: Who knows. Decide for yourself.
(Oh, come on!)
I give a resentful look at Yoritomo as he calmly begins to get ready.
Yoshino: Even though we're lovers now, that part of you hasn't changed.
Yoritomo: What part?
Yoshino: The part where you enjoy teasing people.
Yoritomo: That's right.
Yoritomo's eyes sparkle with amusement as he looks at me.
Yoritomo: Give up. You'll be teased by me for the rest of your life.
Yoshino: For the rest of my life...
Yoritomo: Yes, for the rest of your life.
His arrogantly declared words pierce the center of my chest and melt softly within.
Yoritomo: So live, and let's return together.
(Ah...)
I remember the words Yoritomo-sama said to me yesterday as he led a small number of soldiers and survived the battlefield.
*flashback*
Yoritomo: Yoshino, I will definitely bring you back alive. No matter what.
Yoshino: I... want you to live too.
Yoritomo: Don't be cheeky.
*flashback over*
At that time, Yoritomo didn't give me a clear answer when I wished for him to live.
(Probably... because Yoritomo looks ahead and acts accordingly, he didn't say anything uncertain.)
(But now, he said we'll return together.)
My feelings turn into determination and rage through my body like a storm.
Yoshino: I... want to live with you tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and forever after that.
Yoshino: I want to live and see the world you create.
Yoritomo: Yes. I promise you.
Yoritomo: When this battle is over, I'll be by your side.
Yoritomo: And then... I'll dedicate the victory we've won to you and the Kamakura shogunate.
Yoshino: ...Thank you.
(I'm not afraid of anything anymore.)
The light of Yoritomo's will was surely imprinted on my heart through our exchanged gaze.
A while later... I finish getting ready and head outside with Yoritomo-sama.
-
Morinaga: Yoritomo-sama, Yoshino!
Yoshino: Morinaga-san...
Recognizing us, Morinaga-san runs over with a big smile on his face.
Yoritomo responds with a slight wave of his hand.
(It feels like it's been a long time since I've seen Morinaga-san.)
(Maybe it's because so much has happened in such a short time.)
My chest tightens at his familiar smile.
Yoritomo: What is it? Were you waiting for us?
Morinaga: I was just about to go greet you.
Morinaga: I was worried about Yoshino, you know.
(Morinaga-san...)
Morinaga: Yoshino, you're able to get up now. Are you alright?
Yoshino: Yes! Um... I'm sorry for worrying you.
Morinaga: Don't worry about it. Yesterday was tough, wasn't it? I heard from Yoritomo-sama.
Morinaga: Please forgive me for not being able to get there when you were suffering the most.
He bows his head with a serious expression, and I hurriedly shake my head.
Yoshino: Don't say that!
Yoshino: I heard you guys were also unable to move. It was tough for both of us, wasn't it?
Morinaga: It was my lack of strength that made it difficult to deal with the enemy.
Morinaga: I couldn't even grasp the fact that the main unit was in such a dangerous situation.
Yoritomo: Don't get the wrong idea, Morinaga. Your mission was to hold back Benkei, not to protect me.
Morinaga: No.
Morinaga: Ever since we shared a life in exile in Izu, it has been my job to protect Yoritomo-sama.
Yoritomo: You're talking big.
Morinaga sighed deeply at Yoritomo, who shrugged his shoulders.
Morinaga: I'm not joking.
Morinaga: The thought of losing you sends chills down my spine.
(I've never seen Morinaga-san like this...)
Yoritomo: I was aware of the danger. I was prepared for the worst.
Yoritomo: But I knew that if I could just get this far, I could turn the tide of this battle again.
Yoritomo's fist tapped Morinaga's chest.
Morinaga: Yoritomo-sama...
Yoritomo: We don't have time to regret.
Yoritomo: We need you to work, Morinaga.
After staring at Yoritomo's bright eyes, Morinaga smiled happily.
Morinaga: As you wish.
(Seeing these two makes me feel at ease...)
Yoritomo: Yoshino. I'm sorry to ask this of you when you're just recovering from your illness, but I need your help too. Are you ready?
Yoshino: Of course!
As we walked, we arrived in the middle of the camp, which was bustling with preparations for battle...
Soldiers: ....!
The soldiers, recognizing Yoritomo, straightened up in unison.
Yoritomo: Thank you for your hard work, everyone. Continue your preparations.
Soldiers: Yes, sir!
(Oh, there are people from the same unit as yesterday!)
I'm relieved to see that they're safe.
(...But they seem to be looking at me strangely.)
I'm startled to realize that I'm being looked at with a clearly different gaze than yesterday.
Yoshino: ...! Um, Yoritomo-sama.
Yoritomo: Hmm?
Yoshino: Um, about me using the fox spirit's power yesterday...
Yoritomo: Ah. Some of the soldiers saw you.
(I knew it...!)
Yoritomo: If you had just taken the curse power in the midst of the chaos, no one would have noticed.
Yoritomo: But you did it so conspicuously. It couldn't be helped.
Yoshino: But...
Yoritomo: For now, I've hidden the fact that Tamamo is a yokai and just explained to them that you have mysterious powers.
Yoritomo: I've made sure they won't pry any further, so don't worry.
Yoshino: Thank you...
(But, those looks... I guess I creeped them out.)
Morinaga: Oh. They're coming this way.
Yoshino: Huh?
The soldiers, who had been cautiously approaching, knelt on the ground and greeted Yoritomo-sama.
Yoritomo: It's fine. Relax.
Soldiers: Yes, sir!
The soldier who seemed to be the leader spoke up on behalf of everyone.
Soldier 1: With all due respect... we have something we would like to convey to Yoritomo-sama and Yoshino-sama.
(Hmm? Yoshino-sama?)
Yoritomo: You may speak.
The soldier's expression relaxed as if relieved, and he continued speaking.
Soldier 1: First of all, Yoshino-sama... thank you for saving us with your divine power yesterday!
Yoshino: ...! Divine power...?
(I just borrowed curse power from Tamamo...)
I noticed that the other soldiers were also looking at me with sparkling eyes.
Soldier 2: Your power is our hope.
Yoritomo: That's what they say, Yoshino.
Morinaga: Amazing. You were already being thanked on the battlefield for your work as a healer,
Morinaga: but at this rate, the day you become known as the shogunate's priestess may be near.
(That would be a problem!)
I frantically think while trying to find the right words.
Yoshino: Um... first of all, please stop calling me "-sama." I'm just a healer.
Soldier 2: But...
Yoshino: My power isn't that great.
Yoshino: I was just desperate at the time... I couldn't do anything in normal battles.
Yoshino: So, I think we were able to get this far thanks to Yoritomo-sama and all of you.
Soldier 3: Oh, you're too kind! We didn't do anything...
The soldiers looked at each other in a flustered manner.
(I'm happy to be thanked, but this praise is too much for me.)
A warm hand was placed on my back as I hesitated.
(Yoritomo-sama?)
Yoritomo: It wouldn't be fair to stubbornly refuse their gratitude.
Yoritomo: What Yoshino did has that much value.
Yoritomo addressed the soldiers once again.
Yoritomo: May I ask you a question?
Soldier 1: Yes, anything!
Yoritomo: Then...
While speaking in a friendly manner, Yoritomo's eyes thoughtfully observed everyone's faces.
Yoritomo: Her power yesterday was the result of pushing herself to help us.
Yoritomo: Do you understand that miracles don't happen twice?
Soldier 1: Of course. That's why we're even more grateful,
Soldier 1: and now we want to protect Yoshino-sama... Yoshino, with our lives.
(...They were thinking that...?)
Yoritomo: I see.
Yoritomo's voice took on a slight softness that wasn't artificial.
Yoritomo: Yoshino, their feelings seem genuine. How do you respond?
Yoshino: Yes. I gratefully accept your feelings...
Yoshino: Thank you very much. Let's end this war together.
Soldier 1: ...Yes!
After bowing their heads deeply once more, the soldiers straightened their posture again.
Soldier 1: We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Yoritomo-sama once again.
Soldier 1: It is thanks to Yoritomo-sama's leadership that we are here.
Yoritomo: You're getting ahead of yourselves. You can thank me when we return to Kamakura, right?
Soldier 1: I apologize! I wanted to express my gratitude as soon as possible.
The other soldiers nodded nervously.
Soldier 2: Of course, I have always respected you, but my desire to serve you, Yoritomo-sama, has grown even stronger.
Soldier 3: Seeing Yoritomo-sama's back as he continued to fight in the face of adversity inspired me many times!
Soldier 3: I'm ashamed of myself for always being so cowardly. In today's battle, I will definitely be of use!
(Everyone's faces are completely different from before...)
The words Tamamo said when Yoritomo left the mountain temple with them crossed my mind.
*flashback*
Tamamo: It's not just a matter of physical condition. If you only gather those with weak hearts, it will be difficult to win the battle in the first place.
Tamamo: Moreover, the influence of the yokai should make the soldiers even more discouraged than usual...
Tamamo: Yoritomo, are you going to lead those people alone and fight through?
Yoritomo: .....
*flashback over*
The faces of the soldiers in front of me were now filled with determination.
(Everyone has changed too. By seeing Yoritomo-sama's back.)
Yoritomo must have sensed it too, as he smiled faintly.
Yoritomo: I will also gratefully accept your feelings. I'm counting on you, your active participation.
Soldiers: Yes, sir!
As I watched everyone's faces light up, I realized something.
Yoshino: Um, is everyone feeling better now?
There must have been some people who were possessed by yokai during the battle with Yoshitsune-sama.
(Everyone seems to be injured, but not affected by the curse power...)
Soldier 1: Yes. When we arrived here and started talking about the two of you, our bodies felt strangely lighter...
Yoshino: Is that so...? That's good.
(Does that mean...?)
After that, while facing Yoritomo-sama and Morinaga-san at the headquarters, I shared my thoughts.
Morinaga: The soldiers stopped being affected by the yokai because they had a strong resolve?
Yoshino: Yes.
Yoritomo: It's not impossible.
Yoritomo: Tamamo said that those with weak hearts are easily possessed by yokai.
Yoritomo: But if their hearts are filled with strong wishes or hopes for some reason...
(No matter what difficulties they face, I'm sure those people will be alright now.)
Morinaga nodded as if impressed.
Morinaga: You mean the soldiers' hearts grew by seeing you two fight firsthand?
Morinaga: If that's the case, it's a tremendously good story.
Yoritomo: It's an unexpected miscalculation. On the good side, of course.
Yoritomo, who seemed to be thinking about something, smiled.
Yoritomo: ---Now I can make a move with confidence.
Yoshino: A move?
Yoritomo: Yes.
Yoritomo: It's time to turn the tide of the battle.

When I started planning Mo's birthday fic this year, I was faced with a dilemma - do I write her yet another Napoleon fic? I knew Mo would never say no to more Napo, but with his birthday next week, I kinda didn't want to write two Napoleon fics. I wanted to do something...different. I then remembered some time ago (way back in May), I had made a post expressing interest in playing IkeGen, and I got the following comment from our dear Mo:
Tumblr media
Mo, I'm here to tell you that day has come - Happy Birthday!
You Belong to Me - Minamoto no Yoritomo x Reader (Ikemen Genjiden)
Tumblr media
A/N: Happy Birthday @kissmetwicekissmedeadly! I know today wasn't the greatest for you, but I hope this brings you a smile (or a laugh, who knows) when you read it.
Pairing: Yoritomo x Reader
Tags: NSFW; Minors - DNI; piv sex, rough sex, reader on top, explicit language
Tumblr media
“You belong to me,” he whispered, his voice deep and husky as he pulled you into his lap, heat immediately radiating through your kimono. His arms encircled your waist, his long fingers loosening the ties of your sash, allowing the silken fabric covering your shoulders to fall freely, cascading down your back gently in waves.
Back exposed, a shiver ran down your spine as you felt his hot breath against your cool skin. He pressed a reverent kiss upon your flesh, his long, silky bangs tickling your skin. Another kiss. And another. And another. Until he had left a trail of soft kisses down and up your spine.
His lips lingered, his nose nuzzling your nape as you sat with blind anticipation. Your heart fluttered in your chest, eager for more of his touch. Seeking closeness, you shifted in his lap, the curve of your back pressing against his chest.
He let out a ragged sigh; you could feel his self-control fading as he pressed a wicked smirk against your skin. He removed one arm from around your waist; lifting his hand towards your back, he traced teasing circles into your back as soft sighs passed through your parted pout.
Calling your name, he brushed your hair to the side, over your shoulder. Your breath hitched as he pressed his lips against your sensitive neck, his mouth traveling, leaving biting kisses down and along the slope of your shoulders. Arching your back, you closed your eyes, each nip sending tingles throughout your body.
His fingers pressed against your hips as he twisted your body in his lap, finally facing his vibrant violet eyes. His thumb stroked you between your legs, coaxing a soft moan from your lips as he pulled your body closer to his.
“You belong to me,” you whispered before your lips met his in a searing kiss. He pulled back, admiring you for a moment before a sadistic smile spread on the shogun’s lips, a hint he knew just how true those whispered words were.
Resting your palms on his chest, you steadied your body as he guided you, your bodies eager to join as one. He covered your mouth with his, swallowing your moans as you sank down onto him. Slowly, you shifted your hips as your body adjusted for his size.
Heat flooded your core the moment you were fully seated on his lap. He deepened the kiss, his tongue invading your mouth, seeking out yours, as you adjusted to his size. When you began to rock your hips against his, your body clenching with every stroke, he knew you were ready.
Breaking the kiss, he dug his fingers into your hips, pushing your body down to meet his. Your arms clung to his shoulders, his pace fast and rough.
He ravished your body, cruel and merciless in his ministrations until you begged. You begged and you pleaded, your voice a pathetic whimper, hoping for a chance he would grant you relief.
But this was Yoritomo. He knew you had more left in you to give. He would grant you that sweet relief, but not until he said so – pain before pleasure.
Your nails dug into his back, sharp enough to almost draw blood. Body weak, you were ready to surrender yourself to your lover, unsure your body could handle anymore of his sweet torture.
And when you thought you couldn't take it anymore, your lover answered your prayers. Stars danced in your eyes as you tilted your head back, his name – only his name – sweet on your lips as your climax peaked, the waves crashing loudly as pleasure flooded your senses leaving you in a state of ephemeral bliss.
He gathered you in his arms, bodies broken and spent, and laid down with you on the mat. Your breath labored, began to calm down as he wrapped you in his arms, the moon covering you in her pale glow as you both drifted off to sweet slumber.

I want still play Ikemen Genjiden although it's discontinued
Misun!bot
I don't know why. Although it's very late, i want translate the main route of Ikemen Genjiden. There are reasons why i want it.
*There is Yoritomo*
I admit i love the design but not the personality... i hate it because of the real history. Well, mostly i love the design and the voice at first. The history also interesting. It's related to Battle of Atsukashiyama which appears in Touken Ranbu Hanamaru S2 (when Imanotsurugi has insecurities about when Yoritomo dared to kill Yoshitsune) and in Musical Touken Ranbu: Atsukashiyama Ibun. So, when i noticed Yoritomo in IkeGen, i remember "Battle of Atsukashiyama" in Touken Ranbu. Beside Battle of Atsukashiyama, some battle with Yoritomo's lore also included in game such as "Battle of Oshu". Overall, i love Yoritomo based on the design and the voice (and the route reminds me to Touken Ranbu).
*A good thing to build my saniwa lore*
In Eiga Touken Ranbu 2: Reimei, there is Ibuki which mean... Shuten Doji appears. So, when Ibuki debuted in IkeGen, i remember how he appeared and possesed a young man who is also named "Ibuki". Beside, Abe no Seimei also appeared in the movie. While in Ikemen Genjiden, Yasuchika is reincarnartion of Abe no Seimei. So... so much thing to know more about the route in Ikemen Genjiden to complete my saniwa lore. The main route (i mean the act 1 and act 2) is become a good story for a mission in Touken Ranbu fanfic. I mean Ikemen Genjiden told a story about what if Yoshitsune is still alive in Kamakura era (about 1193 A.D)
*Some Touken Danshi are related to the characters*
Let see the examples.
1. Benkei was told if he had collected a thousand swords, and Iwatooshi was rumored to be one of them. Then, both Imanotsurugi (rumored just like Iwatooshi) and Hizamaru belonged to Yoshitsune. While Yoritomo had Higekiri. Shishio also belonged to Yorimasa, Yoritomo's ally and perhaps he had ever taken care or even met Shigehira.
2. There are swords that belonged to Taira clan. They are Kogarasumaru and Nukemaru (and in IkeGen, the last survivor of Taira clan is Shigehira). Maybe Shigehira had relation to Taira no Masakado.
3. Back to event "Hyakki Yakou Operation" 2 months ago, there was a man with kitsune's mask. It confirmed if he is Kitsunegasaki which was forged during "Kagetoki's Incident" (Kagetoki hid in a place where Kitsunegasaki was forged)
4. Ibuki a.k.a Shuten Doji, back to in Heian period, was slain by Minamoto no Yorimitsu. The legend said Ibuki was slain using Dojigiri and Onimaru Kunitsuna. In IkeGen, he appears again, which mean... there is a potential he will be slain again by Onimaru or there will be a story when Bakufu army order Touken Danshi to slay Ibuki.
5. There are some yokaii that famous and Shishio told if he was used to slay Nue. Meanwhile in IkeGen, ayakashi is part of yokaii too, including Ibuki, Kurama Tengu, and Tamamo-no-Mae (oh, Rikka is ayakashi too). Who knows if Ibuki or Tamamo had ever meet Nue in the past. Higekiri who also known as "Onikiri" perhaps know well about Ibuki.
*Some characters are familiar*
Back to the reason why i love Yoritomo. Don't you notice if Yoritomo is much like Nobunaga? Their personality makes me think if Yoritomo is 'the ancient Nobunaga' or... Nobunaga is 'the copy of Yoritomo'. They are ambitious, teasingful, rude, arrogant, and possesive. Even both of them are pinned the MC in their route.
Beside that, there are some characters that familiar as i play games.
Sueharu is similar as Date Masamune and Shokudaikiri by the design.
Morinaga is similar as Date Masamune and Hideyoshi.
Yasuchika's clothes is similar as Mikazuki Munechika.
And again, Yoritomo. The face and the design are similar as Hijikata from Hakuoki (i mean look at the kimono. Both Hijikata and Yoritomo has purple kimono. Yoritomo's appearance also same as Hijikata with short hair).
The last one, Kurama Tengu. He is much like Hizen Tadahiro.
*Some accounts announced if they won't continue the route*
At first time i play, i felt difficult to read the route and then i stopped playing it. Yet, i started reading it again after know the translation. At least i know the summary and the selection. Or if i feel lazy to play it, i just read the translation from some account (btw thanks for @archiveikemen @aishangotome @ga-yuu / @gayuu-the-necromancer @sakura-samsara @dear-mrs-otome @aoi-aoi-chan and @shatcey for translating.)
Unfortunately some route were incomplete and some accounts decided to stop playing Ikemen Genjiden even permanently. So... i want to continue the incomplete one rather than waiting it although the game is discontinued. I'm still curious about Shigehira, Kagetoki, Tamamo, and Rikka.
So, it makes sense i had to know about the route.

I was ... sleeping? I didn't drink the sake but I fell asleep ... sorry.
It's too comfortable being by your side.
It seems that you're a bit tired, you should go to bed early.
Tumblr media
I want to go to the courtyard to play the flute before going to bed ... Will you come with me?
... Thank you, for smiling at the people who are important to me.
When I see you laugh with the people in town, you become more and more lovely.
Tumblr media
You should rest soon, I still have a bit more work ...Hmm? Even if you don't tell me, I won't work too hard. Now now, don't worry.
Kamakura is my origin, and also a place I should protect . In this scenery, keep smiling your carefree smile as much as possible.

I guess not many of you guys will play Ikemen Genjiden now that it's out, but I still decided to put together an attire overview for each of the initial three suitors („• ֊ •„) Also, I plan on doing the same for the initial four suitors of Ikemen Live ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶ And of course, once Arhtur's route will be released in the English version of Ikemen Vampire, I will upload his attire overview as well!

Minamoto No Yoritomo: Chapter 20 Normal Story
Chapter 20
♡———♡
Yoritomo: Ah, Yoshino, come here.
Yoshino: Huh? Ah...
I feel myself being pulled towards him, and Yoritomo whispers in my ear.
Yoritomo: Unfortunately, we don't have enough tents.
Yoritomo: You'll sleep with me tonight.
(No way...!)
Yoshino: I-I'm fine with sleeping under a tree or something...
Yoritomo: Don't be ridiculous. Are you a beast?
Yoshino: I'm human...
(I said something weird in my confusion...)
Yoritomo: You'll look suspicious to the others. Let's go.
I'm pulled along, not having time to gather my thoughts.
(...Well, I understand it's an emergency, and it's true that I wanted to be by his side.)
(But... Yoritomo-sama is, as always, so nonchalant.)
I steal a glance at his handsome profile.
Even as the war situation becomes increasingly dire, Yoritomo-sama doesn't change his expression.
(Tamamo said Yoritomo-sama would be carrying extra baggage and fighting...)
I can't read Yoritomo-sama's emotions more than usual, and it frustrates me.
-
(Even so, what can I do in this situation...?)
Yoritomo: Hey, what are you doing in that corner?
Yoshino: Please don't mind me...!
I'm huddled in a corner of the not-so-spacious tent.
My concern for Yoritomo-sama and nervousness about sleeping together are mixed, leaving me in a confused state.
(... Alright! Worrying won't get me anywhere, so I'll stop thinking for now.)
With that resolve, I look up.
Yoshino: Yoritomo-sama---
Yoritomo: Hmm?
(Wait, what...!)
Yoshino: What are you doing!?
In the opposite corner, Yoritomo-sama has taken off his upper armor without me noticing.
I quickly avert my eyes from his toned body.
Yoritomo: What do you mean? I'm changing, of course. Who sleeps with their armor on?
Yoshino: But you don't have to do it in front of me!
Yoritomo: I called you, but you were spacing out and didn't hear me.
Yoritomo: It's creepy to leave you outside in the middle of the night.
Yoshino: Uh...
(I can't argue with his concern!)
Yoritomo: So? Why is your face red?
Yoshino: I-It's not!
Yoritomo: Oh really?
Yoritomo smiles knowingly as he looks me over.
Yoshino: Stop making that face!
Yoritomo: There you go. Don't stare at me, look the other way.
Yoshino: ...Okay.
(The way he says it makes me feel embarrassed for acting strange.)
Completely flustered, I turn towards the wall.
A little while later...
Yoritomo: I'm done.
Yoshino: Oh, okay.
When I turn around, Yoritomo is properly dressed in his nightclothes.
Yoritomo: I'll wait outside, so you can get ready for bed.
Yoshino: Huh? Oh... Thank you.
After Yoritomo leaves, I quickly prepare for bed...
Finally, I let down my hair and put on my nightclothes.
(Is he going to see me in such a vulnerable state...?)
Feeling even more uneasy, I go to the entrance of the tent to call Yoritomo.
Yoshino: Sorry to have kept you waiting. Please come in.
Yoritomo: Ah. I'm coming in.
Yoritomo, who entered by pushing aside the hanging cloth, fixed his gaze on me.
Yoritomo: .....
Yoritomo: Hmm. You were able to get ready by yourself. Good girl, good girl.
Yoshino: I'm not happy to be praised like that!
(I'm not being treated like a woman at all.)
I'm at a loss as to whether I should be relieved or feel empty in this situation.
Yoritomo: Stop complaining and go to sleep.
Yoshino: Yes...
I try to look as calm as possible and lie down on the bed.
Yoritomo: If you stay on the edge like that, you'll fall off.
(Ugh...!)
Lying down, Yoritomo roughly pulled me into his embrace.
(So close...)
Yoshino: No...but...isn't it hard to sleep if it's too cramped?
Yoritomo: You can't be picky at a time like this.
(Whoa!)
Yoritomo abruptly covers himself and me with a quilt.
Yoritomo: It would be a pain if you catch a cold now.
Yoritomo: If you don't want to be squished, be a good girl.
As usual, his hand reaches out and carelessly touches my hair.
I couldn't help but shudder and tense my shoulders...
Yoritomo: ...
(Huh?)
Yoritomo hesitates and withdraws his fingers.
Yoshino: ...Yoritomo-sama?
Yoritomo: Just stay quiet like that.
(What was that just now?)
Normally, he would have touched me more and teased me.
(C...could it be that Lord Yoritomo is also aware of me?)
(No way...)
Under the quilt, my heart pounded faster as our skin almost touched.
Feeling this, I searched for a way to start a conversation.
Yoshino: Um, thank you for your hard work today.
Yoshino: It seems like things are getting quite difficult...
Yoritomo: It's nothing for you to worry about. Just relax and rest.
(But...)
Yoshino: Is there nothing more I can do?
Yoritomo: What are you talking about? You have the power of a fox spirit.
Yoritomo: I can't defeat Yoshitsune without you.
Yoshino: That's not what I meant...
(How can I express myself so he understands?)
Suddenly, I remembered the words Tamamo had told me when I was at the Imperial Palace.
*flashback*
Tamamo: I think Yoritomo's heart is too strong for an ordinary human.
Tamamo: That's why he can probably overcome most hardships...
Tamamo: But a heart that's too strong can sometimes become its own poison.
Tamamo: It may be a straightforward woman like you who can heal that poison.
*flashback over*
(I wish Tamamo's words were true...)
I had no confidence at all, but I put my thoughts into words.
Yoshino: The more perfect you appear in front of everyone, Yoritomo-sama...the more worried I become sometimes.
Yoshino: Because I don't think anyone can know your true heart.
(Of course, even I don't know it.)
Yoritomo: You've always been concerned about strange things.
Yoritomo: It doesn't matter what I think, does it?
Yoshino: It does matter...!
Yoritomo: I'm saying it's trivial in the face of results.
Yoritomo: I don't acknowledge the value of the heart, whether it's mine or someone else's.
(...Liar.)
Yoshino: But Yoritomo-sama, you're always thinking about my heart, aren't you?
(The first thing Yoritomo-sama sacrifices is always himself.)
In the darkness, the azure blue of Yoritomo-sama's eyes shone brightly as he gazed at me.
Yoritomo: Don't get the wrong idea. You're a useful person to me.
Yoritomo: But if I decide that discarding you is the best course of action, I'll do it without hesitation.
(E-even if that's true...)
(I want to stay by your side.)
Unable to put the intensity of my feelings into words, my eyes stung.
Yoritomo: If it gets in the way of my goal, I don't need a heart.
Yoritomo: So you should give up on my heart too.
Yoshino: Yoritomo-sama...
(Ah, he already has that determined look in his eyes.)
(I can't say anything more to someone with eyes like that.)
Yoshino: ...I understand. I won't bring this up again.
Yoshino: Instead...
Following the urge of my heart, I reached out and gently touched Yoritomo's hand.
Yoritomo: ...
Yoshino: Will you remember that I'm here by your side?
(I want to give you everything I have.)
(Even if you don't need it, you can throw it away.)
Yoritomo: ...You're an idiot.
Yoritomo: My memory isn't that bad.
Yoshino: ...Hehe, you're right.
I let out a laugh, on the verge of tears.
(I've finally made up my mind.)
(For Yoritomo's sake, I'm willing to sacrifice anything of myself.)
I wanted to dedicate and burn out all my warmth and love for Yoritomo in this battle.
Yoritomo: ...Don't make that weird face.
Yoshino: Ah...
Yoritomo sighed and squeezed my hand that was touching his.
Yoritomo: You have a childlike body temperature.
Yoritomo: I'm cold, warm me up.
I couldn't move, captivated by Yoritomo's gaze, which still held a strong light.
(You're the one who's warm.)
Yoshino: ...Yes.
I replied in a small voice and gently intertwined our fingers.
Yoritomo: Sleep.
Yoritomo: Or can't you sleep without a lullaby?
Yoshino: ...No.
Sharing warmth in the darkness, my heart felt full.
Yoshino: Good night, Yoritomo-sama.
Yoritomo: Yeah --Good night.
(I hope your heart is warmed a little tonight.)
Closing my eyes...I gradually fell asleep.

Which of the ikegen characters has the most tragic past? And how did MC help them overcome it?
Surprisingly...while there are some characters that go hard on the Tragic Backstory, there are quite a few that have what I'd classify as more moderately sad and to be expected of a time as turbulent as theirs.
Top contenders for Saddest Sad to Ever Sad would probably be...Akihito and Yasuchika, in my opinion. But for amusement's sake I'll also give each dude a brief summary of their sad past if applicable. Needless to say, ALL THE SPOILERS AHEAD:
Yoritomo - True to history mainly. Most of his family killed, sent into exile as a boy and grew up in it with only Morinaga for a friend, was given the devil's choice of letting other people die or agreeing to become the figurehead of the Minamoto uprising. Has to play the deadly game of politics and can never let anyone know his real thoughts - always in a mask of some sort or another.
Shigehira - The defeated, dishonored general of the losing side, who was slated to die on the chopping block before Yoritomo stepped in and offered him a second chance. Is desperate to use his position with the shogunate to provide a place for his people in this new world, even as most of them despise him for turning 'traitor' and cozying up to the enemy. Grew up the spoiled pretty lord of the ruling clan who was still determined to be more than just window dressing.
Kagetoki - Not really tragic either, other than people always telling him he was missing something. His grandfather, worried about his manipulative scheming heartless grandson, bought him a koto and had him play it every day (something Kagetoki still does even though he sucks at it abysmally) to try and keep his grandson from becoming a supervillain basically.
Morinaga - Seems to have had a pretty normal life, no tragic sads to speak of really.
Tamamo - Born an ultra-rare, ultra-powerful nine-tailed fox and pressed into a bloody campaign to become the king of all ayakashi by his people. Eschewed all of that eventually when he couldn't take killing anymore and wanders human lands alone now, always shunned when he's discovered to be a 'monster' but unable to stop being fascinated by them.
Yoshitsune - Same as Yoritomo, most of his family killed and grew up adrift. His soul is supposedly somewhere between a human and an ayakashi so he was often targeted by ayakashi as a child, until he came under the protection of Kurama. Oh and also, nearly murdered by his own brother.
Yoichi - had almost his entire clan and family executed by the Taira when they were falsely accused of being traitors. (this is why he hates Shigehira now despite them having been friends as children) Yoichi means the 11th son and that's what he is - eleventh in line and should never have ascended to being leader of his clan but there is no one else left to lead.
Benkei - Was abandoned and hated as a child for being a freak, insanely strong and can heal quickly...it turns out he's part ayakashi, with oni blood actually. He tried fitting in many places but would often accidentally hurt someone with his power, and eventually wandered bitter and alone until a cursed sword possessed him and he tried to capture 1,000 swords from defeated men (as the myths surrounding him go). Only when he was bested by the 1,000th, Yoshitsune, was he freed and swore loyalty to him - but still lives in fear of being treated like a monster again.
Kurama - The only real tragedy is his inability to People whatsoever. 🤣 Technically has a sad past but doesn't let it bother him too much. His entire tengu clan was wiped out by Tamamo on one of his conquering rampages, and he alone survived as a small child. Ibuki found bby Kurama in the snow and took him in and raised him...albeit in a very fucked up, twisted way of 'might makes right'...and with a promise to someday destroy what Kurama loves mostly for shits and giggles. Has on rare occasion wondered what he'd be like if he'd grown up with a flock and family like normal tengu. probably not murder birb but where's the fun in that?
Sueharu - Nothing much for him yet either, other than some major beef between him and ex-bestie Morinaga
Ibuki - No idea yet, they haven't even so much as hinted at anything other than perhaps the general 'uwu I'm a monster'
Yasuchika - Showed his onmyoji talents at a very young age, and was hailed as the second coming of Abe no Seimei by his onmyoji family. Determined to produce another such genius, he was trained hard from a young age, experimented on with cruel and agonizing rituals to enhance his power, and grew up abused and isolated with no friends save for the ayakashi he could see and speak to - until his family head had him kill even the ayakashi he befriended. The only person he had to speak with was Akihito, who was still a ghost inside the family manor at that point.
Akihito/Sutoku - Hoo boy where to start. Cursed even before he was born, rumored to be the son of his father's GRANDFATHER. Rituals were performed to try and kill him in utero but they failed, instead the curse merged with his soul and he was born with its dark powers. Anyone or anything he touched would fall ill or die, until he learned how to control it much later in life - though he still fears touching people without his 'safety bracelet'. He ascended to the throne eventually but it was a brief reign, before he was passed over for his much younger brother (IRL this was his son but the game makes it his brother). In exile, still saddened by the mistrust and lack of respect for how hard he tried to be a good leader, he copied scriptures and offered them to the court only to have his gestures rebuffed, fearing they were cursed. This was the last straw and he snapped, his curse running amok and killing a number of people. Because of that the Abe family trapped and bound him in their manor, sentencing his body to eternal sleep and his soul to wander, unseen and unaware of what had happened to him until Ibuki accidentally woke him up.
As for the saddest - with Yasuchika, his MC comes to help him realize that he's worth more than he thinks. When she first meets him he's determined to give everything for Akihito and Akihito's cause of making himself the Big Bad that will unite humanity in fear of him. Yasuchika doesn't believe he's a good person or capable of being one whatsoever, but she helps him to recognize his desire to protect people and the pride he takes in keeping his city and the citizens in it safe. That his genius doesn't define him and he's more than simply what he can do and offer others - he's his own person as well. She makes him WANT to be a better man, even as he acknowledges he will always be a broken one. That there are things and parts of himself irrevocably shattered, but a cracked vessel can still have purpose. In the end he sacrifices everything to protect her and those he cares about, and is rewarded for that sacrifice by a second chance to become the hero he's always wanted to be deep down.
Akihito's MC does something similar, helping him to see that his goals are misdirected desires to help others and that he can accomplish that in many ways - not simply by embracing the curse as defining himself. She helps him to confront his dark past and the shadows of it that haunt him by being willing to meet him on his own level (for real, she legitimately takes on a curse herself), and free himself from those shackles and expectations so that he can become the person he wants to be - the gentle, loving, artistic soul that beats beneath the ugliness of his past.

Hi!
So I'm actually highly confused about ikegen sequel!
1. Who is masako? Does she has a frame?
2. How did the 2 brothers stopped the fight and start to get along with eachother?!
3. There's the only sequel of yoritomo and yoshitsune right? But what about Sueharu and Ibuki routes?!
4. Does the imperial trio compare in the sequel?
5. is yoshino getting a new power up?
6. Do feel like to translate the sequel?
7. Why is Ibuki so handsome?
Okay! Let me try to explain it in simple words....Imagine these are two universes.
Universe 1: The main prologue took place, where Yoshino saves Tamamo, she makes a contract with him which results in her getting the powers to absorb the demon's magic and the Shogunate adopts her so she can be used to fight against Yoshitsune in the upcoming war. During this, Yoshino falls in love with one of the male leads, and their main stories take place.
Universe 2: The same prologue takes place, but this time Yoshino doesn't fall in love with anyone but becomes friends with all the male leads and all the male leads care about her. The war takes place but the three parties decide to make peace temporarily. So this happens after the war. Then the bathwater demon shows up and gives the hero's might to two male leads that Yoshino selects.
I hope you understand now. Unlike Ikemen Sengoku sequel, the main story has NOTHING to do with the sequel and I guess if you're a newbie you can start playing the sequel right away.
The character of Masako in-game is based on the real-life historical figure Hojo Masako, a Buddhist nun, and politician. She was also the wife real-life of Minamoto no Yoritomo. In the sequel, she is kinda like the end game boss and the main villain in Yoritomo's Ending. She is portrayed as an obsessive crush. Just because Yoritomo rejected her confession, she wants to take everything from him out of anger and also kill him.
In her childhood days, she was spoiled by her family and she always got whatever she wanted. When Yoritomo was an exile and send to Izu Province which was under the Hojo clan. There he meets Masako. I think Masako fell in love with him at first sight or something IDK, then didn't make that part clear. Yoritomo clearly stated that he didn't love her and that made her angry.
2. Their problem would have been solved in about 30 minutes if these two brothers had sat down and talked to each other. The thing is, Yoshitsune wants to forgive Yoritomo, because, despite him cursing on the outside, he still loves Yoritomo. But he can't forgive Yoritomo because he thinks that Yoritomo actually doesn't care about him. He is also scared to be killed by his brother once again. When Yoshino communicates this problem with Morinaga, he tells her that according to him Yoritomo looked like he actually wanted to cry when he first told Morinaga that he was planning to kill Yoshitsune, because Yoshitsune was coming in the way of him and his goals. Right now, Yoritomo is purposely acting like he's unaffected by all of this because he's trying in his own way to make sure that Yoshitsune doesn't forgive him. He knows what he did is unforgivable.
Both these brothers want to start over again, but Yoritomo keeps acting smug because he doesn't want to be forgiven and Yoshitsune thinks that Yoritomo actually doesn't care about him. Miscommunication is also another problem in their relationship. Yoshino understood this, so she tries to make the brothers come clean with each other because she knew that their relationship still had some hope. Finally! Yoritomo tells Yoshitsune that he still loves him.
3. The other characters will have sequels too. Sueharu and Ibuki's main stories haven't been released yet. If the Ikegen doesn't die before that, they will release one of them. They did mention on their official website that they will release one of the main stories soon in the near future. So maybe in mid-Nov or Dec we'll get some news.
4. Yes!
5. No. There are no major changes with her powers. Instead, she gets a new title----' The Shrine Maiden of the Underworld. Her job is to absorb the Hero's might power with her fox powers when they go amok.
6. I'd love to but no.
7. *intense nosebleeds*
