Bright and early, Cass and Alex had Cici, Zodiac, and Domino tacked up and ready to go, with two of the bigger draft cross horses on lead lines in their makeshift pack harnesses that she and Alex had cobbled together. They wouldn't be gone long, but she'd still said her goodbyes the night before. She had no idea yet if Alex had made any friends close enough to worry about while he was gone, but at least things between the two of them felt much better than they had since he'd gotten to town. Cass knew that home wouldn't look the same as it had when she'd left - Alex and Isaac had both warned her in different ways - but she was hoping to find some sort of closure in the trip as well as coming back to town with much needed supplies. It would be a good way to honor Nate's memory in the process.

Cass was double checking the harnesses on the larger horses when Alex led Cici and the boys out of the barn, just around the same moment that Isaac wandered into view, his trusty bat in hand.

While she and Ike had more or less patched things up between the two of them, she knew Alex still didn't hold much of a high opinion of the other man. Not that she blamed him for that. Either way, this would prove to be an interesting trip. At least there was the possibility of a proverbial pot of gold at the end of this shit-stained rainbow.

"Mornin'," she greeted the older man, nodding toward Alex as he came closer. "Got everyone ready to go. You'll be on Domino. Anything you need to do before we head out?"

some simple 03 headcanon designs,, continue reading for some thoughts on each

Leo:

- currently same height as Mikey

- lots of little scars from when getting thrown through that window

- less accessorized due to practicality

- knows basic sewing/ patching

- great at calligraphy (thought it would help with patience and focus)

i like to think that while practicing sewing, Leo made a little turtle from random fabric and gave it to Splinter (and Splinter ofc keeps it and displays it on a shelf in his room)

Raph:

- tallest (this one is actually canon in seasons 6 & 7)

- proud of numerous battle scars

- thinks the bandages give him a cool fighter/ brawler look

- knows how to work on bikes and vehicles but is still learning things from Donnie

I am a firm believer in Raph needing glasses but refusing to wear them and refusing to acknowledge having poor eyesight

Donnie:

- 2nd tallest

- bag contains some medical supplies, a few gadgets and spare parts or trinkets

- compression elbow sleeve worn due to the injuries sustained in Exodus Pt2

- "my senses are heightened with night vision goggles"

- matching gloves w/ Mikey

i was gonna give Don some scarring from the incident with the triceratons and that mind helmet thing (i forget what it's called atm) but i figured it might be unrealistic,, only the helmet was seen smoking

Mikey:

- will be taller than Leo one day

- small lip scar from roughhousing as a kid

- compression ankle braces (Mikey's ankles get injured at least 3 times that i remember so i wanted to add braces)

- the most speckled turtle bc all Mikeys are freckled to me

- matching gloves w/ Donnie

i like to think that April had Mikey help paint her nails one time and now thats a thing they do,, Mikey likes the feeling of wearing nail polish idk

I'm sorry but I very strongly dislike TMNT fans who only like the ninja aspect. It feels like we're in completely different fandoms and I swear it's just cuz I'm insane about the franchise and they're not but- they mean so much to me... they're not just cool ninjas.. you don't understand man. It's not all fighting.. they're TEENAGERS. They're BROTHERS. They recieve so much hate from the world for being the way they are, something they can't control. Considering the surprising amount of people wanting to see my silly little oc, I’ve decided to go ahead and share her here!

This is Goya, a Shoebill mutant that lives with the turtles and splinter.

Close-ups + ramblings under cut,

So first off, I have to say I’m kind of proud of how She turned out in general. I was aiming for something similar to the 03 artstyle, and I think I got pretty close. I was pretty proud of the coloring while drawing it, up until I exported it onto my phone. That was when I’d realized that it appears different on other devices. ^^,

But anyways, more about Goya!

As said above, she lives with the turtles, although she was mutated separately. This doesn’t make her any less family, but does make her a couple years younger than her brothers.

Goya was first found stumbling around, clueless and jumping at every little thing she didn’t recognize. She‘s definitely grown since then, no longer looking at things with fear, but rather with curiosity and open-mindedness. She still doesn’t speak, but that’s just how she is.

She loves heights and climbing, which is often assisted by the use of her wings. Downside is, she can’t fly. She can, however, glide and flutter her wings to make her lighter.

And yet, despite her clipped wings, Goya’s number one dream is to one day be able to fly.

This feeds into Goya‘s love of exploring. On her first night topside she could not stay still. Combine that with the utter maze that is New York and you have a recipe for hijinks- and some action sprinkled in, as per the genre.

I have so many thoughts about her in my brain, and I’m sorry if none of this seems coherent! She‘s a joy and I love her.

something i don't think enough fanfics play with is the fact that nano can build himself back up from nearly nothing; ergo, if an author wanted to separate part of nano from the rest of him and not give him a chance to reunify until much much later, the two parts of nano might end up with a surplus of nanobots by the time they manage to recombine back into one dude. in the meantime, multiple sets of characters can have a nano with them to eventually cause them to be able to relocate each other again if necessary.
