OH MY GOD THE CHINESE FANTASY/HISTORICAL DRAMAS? They're absolutely entranced by it. Bi'an mostly comments on how historically inaccurate they are, and how outrageous the characters are.

Wujiu usually makes passing comments on how they're all attractive, and talks as if he was in the drama itself.

Since you adorn such simple clothing, they question you about Chinese culture a lot. Had such articles of clothing been lost to time? What traditions are still practiced? Wait, the average are allowed people cut their hair? How shocking! Isn't that disrespectful to their parents? Er, which ruler is in charge of the north now?

Once you tell them all of the things that connect you to your chinese heritage, they will try and do EVERYTHING you used to do.

New Year's was it? Ah they have been on a westerners calendar for a while, so they have not been up to date. Well, this calls for special red envelopes and beautiful clothing does it not?

Adorns you only in the most beautiful traditional clothing. Hanfu's are flowy and can be quite modest, but Qipao's can be intricate and beautifully simple. Oh but you could also wear a Tangzhuang. They are also surprised by how modern traditional clothing has become. Clothing like that would've been years worth of salary for the average man! How lucky you are to be able to wear such things for a price.

Although they doll you up and celebrate with you, you aren't allowed to do anything more than to stay with them and obey the usual rules during all of it.

Damn, you don't even get anything of real material value in the red envelope. It's a love letter and a small gift. Usually jewelry or something of that minimal sort. (The gift is meaningless to you as you receive all kinds of unwanted things from them 24/7)

They are glad you are of the same ethnic background of them! You both may have not been from the same place or time, but you two both have a personal understanding of each other's identity.

Partaking in various conversations about culture, technology, celebrating traditions, partially speaking in similar language... All and more of these things have them head over heels for you.

(Some of) My other ships

Now, Reylo is my OTP. It is what I consider to be one of the best fictional love stories of all time.

I mean, look at them?!?With that being said, however, I wanted to make a post about my other ships. None come near Reylo, but I just wanted to gush a bit. I wonder if we have any other ships in common So here in no order, is my list:

Bunnydoll- Amazing Digital Circus

Okay, I know it’s confirmed we’re getting no main romance from this show. And I know Jax is supposed to be an ass no one likes. With that being said, they were lowkey cute in the episodes shown so far.

The look he gives her when he says “She (Pomni) still thinks this is a dream.” Or when he calls her Dollface 😫😫😫😫 (I’m whipped for pet names) there’s even like a live zoom call between the cast posted on YT where Jax’s va says “I love you Ragatha” at the request of a fan and it’s so cute 🥹 I also got parent vibes from them in the pilot when they were showing Pomni around.

It’s giving strict mom and idgaf dad.

Ik it’s probably not gonna be cannon and I don’t care that much if it is (does not hold the place in my heart that Reylo does) but I think there’s potential there. Maybe I enjoy their fannon a bit more than cannon, idk 🤷‍♀️

Felix and Tamora - Wreck it Ralph

Now, they are so wholesome like 🥹

He’s so whipped from her from the very start. I love their love story in the first movie. Felix is so whipped for her from the start, and she doesn’t trust easily due to her trauma.

Yet, Tamora warms up to him steadily and eventually realizes that the two have fallen in love- and it’s okay that she’s learned to love again, she’s not betraying her original love and that just because he went out horribly doesn’t mean Felix will.

I also love how Felix is patient and respectful towards her. When he learned their term “dynamite gal” triggered/upset Tamora, he never said that again. He resorted to other names (lady love, Tammy, etc) and I love that. He’s not perfect, and he was clearly a bit tone death towards Ralph in the beginning of the movie, but he really is a great guy. I sorta get the nice landers- I’d wanna be his friend too if I was in a video game tbh.

They’re wonderful, I love them.

Buzz and Jessie- Toy

Them. I had a Jessie, Buzz, and Bullseye doll when I was little-

(I was also Jessie for Halloween one year)

Anyways, I’ve always loved them. Again, opposites attract. Jessie has extreme trust issues from being abandoned. She still gets anxiety from being in tight spaces.

Buzz knows how to calm her during panick attacks, he always reassures her she won’t end up alone, and he’s who taught her how to trust again.

Even when he’s switched by Lotso, he still finds her beautiful 🥹

Jessie also brings out a different side to him- even got him to Spanish dance in front of everyone at the end of 3 ☺️

They always steal the show, and I can’t wait to see them in Toy Story 5 (Yall can tell Iove Toy Story, right?)

Chilli and Bandit-Bluey

Okay, as of right now they’re probably my second favorite ship. Like I’ve even written fics about them (not nearly as much as Reylo, but a few) and I could go on.

What I absolutely LOVE about Chilli and Banditis the fact that they give something fresh to cartoon. Most tv parents are either toxic or they simply exist as parents and not a couple. Like not toxic per se but they exist to raise the protagonist.

But Chilli and Bandit? They are still so in love and they have a relationship outside of being parents. They disagree sometimes, but what married couple doesn’t??? They still make time for each other despite their busy lives, and they allow each other to still spend time with their friends and go out.

Not to mention, they show their daughters what they should want in a relationship someday. They’re still affectionate despite their gross (yet typical) tendencies, they take the L for each other (Bandit eating Bingos special so she feels important and Chilli doesn’t have to suffer/ Chilli telling the girls to lay off Bandit when they’re mad about moving despite agreeing with them), they’re gentle with each other when the other is triggered/upset (The Show/ Stockbrid) and overall, they know how to balance parenting, their love, their work, friends, and family all while being so damn cute.

The fact whenever Bluey or Bingo pretend to be a married adult and use the term “bahbe” implies that Bandit speaks like that to Chilli 🥹 (honestly cannon because we see their sweet talk all the time)

They’re just so sweet, wholesome, healthy, and they’re honestly my favorite part of Bluey.

So there’s my other ships. I wonder if we have any in common 🤩 If you want a part two I’m down for it, but don’t worry this is still a Reylo blog and that will still be my main content :)

uhm so me and my crush may or may not have confessed to eachother….

basically i was at my dt club (he goes too) and one of my male friends comes up to me and tells me that fish told him his crush and that his crushes name starts with a H 😱😱😱 (who could that be i wonder) so i get all embarrassed and overwhelmed and just hide and my friend rose starts laughing her ass off and saying ‘ooooh’ okay and then i just continue with my project (making a wedding dress for a doll from scratch) and go over to the sewing machine to learn how to use it

i turn around and i see fish literally hunting down my male friend (i forgot his codename yk the one dating my girl bff) and i just smile because now ik it’s true.

fast forward to end of the club and i meet up with some of my other close friends and tell them that ‘my crush likes me back omg’ and they went feral

they ran outside to go find him much to my dismay and say ‘FISHHH FISHH H LIKES YOU TOOOOOOOO’ and so i used my loudest voice (pretty loud) and said ‘GUYS SHUT THE FUCK UPPPP’

they start running and i just give up so when i catch up with them i see fish had turned red and my friends were interrogating him. i was so embarrassed so i just say ‘fuck this shit i’m going home’ so i start walking and then my friends just stayed there for a minute even after fish had crossed the road

so i have to run back to get them and i see fish and i just look away and drag my friends with me

so now i’m walking home and texting fish saying ‘i’m so sorry about my friends hope they didn’t embarrass you much’ and i felt rlly bad

he said it’s alright and we just talked a little bit over text

i stop after a while and my friend S is just teasing the shit out of me saying how proud of me she is and how cute we would be together

and when i get home i’m texting my bffs what happened and decide to ask the big question

"oh, sunghoon! good morningg" he melts as you say, almost forgetting to respond. "good morning, y/n!" he tries to sound atractive and just stands there like the silly boy in love he is. "hey, hoon. what you doing here? I was looking for you!" his golden retriever friend says, they always spend every school day together since kindergarden. jake and sunghoon are just stuck to each other. "wait, that's y/n's class.. all for a good morning... again?" jake has a bored face on. "ike, you don't understand! her voice is so soft and sweet, she has to be mine" sunghoon was serious, but his movements were dramatic as hell. "stop being a weirdo and give some flowers to her, maybe?" jake suggests. "she doesn't like bouquets much" "how do you know that? weirdo"

park doesn't know, but you also love him quite a lot, you knows he's always looking at you at school, your friends say he's a little weird, but you just happen to find him very cute, so you put a little more love in the good mornings when it's for him.

today's classes were so boring, but who said sunghoon was paying attention to it? he was thinking about you, his adorable crush. he gets sad as he remembers he graduates this year, and will never see you again. seeing you everyday is a serious matter for him. "sunghoon" jake tries to wake him up, the last math class is already over. "SUNGHOON YOU DUMB, LET'S GO" he finally wakes up. "im going! and you're the dumb one here" he teases jake a bit. "what score did you get in this class?" sunghoon leaves in silence. "oh, I see" jake follows him.

as soon as sunghoon gets home, he locks his door and pick up his diary that he writes just for you. "dear y/n, day 467. today you gave me one of the sweetest good mornings you can give, you were so cute, that messy hair and adorable smile" he draws sad faces and hearts to the page. "I hope you're not dressing up for other man, you're always so beautiful in school, cute little dresses flawless makeup that suits you so well. today you used a pink roses florar dress, hair tied in a pink bow and pink doll shoes. my lil bunny is just the prettiest. I like to call you lil bunny cause first, you're adorable like a baby bun bun, and second, you use pink blush on the nose just like a baby bun bun, YOU'RE SO CUTE MARRY ME" he sights, remembering he'll never see you again after this year. he likes to take a look at previews pages too, he forgets what he writes and it's always good to read about you. day 8 says "this diary thing is still a little weird to me, but I do whatever to talk about my lil bunny as jake doesn't wanna hear it! i'm starting to hate weekends now, i don't see you, I hate everyday i don't see you. I start to think you were so pretty yesterday, you were using jean shorts and and a super cute strawberry t-shirt. and of course, your loved red dolly shoes, you were using the one that has a bow in it. SO CUTE" he reads another one, day 16 says "lil bunny i want to thank you so so much! you're helping me so much, even if when anxiety hits i think of you and think you're kissing me and that it's going to be real soon! today you were wearing a orange dress and collorful acessories and of course, your favorite red shoe. i heard you complain to your friends that you put too much blush on and was late, but i wasn't too much! it was cute. i like when you use makeup but i also would like to see you without, so i could make you blush!"

and then, the anxiety came, qhen thinking about a date, sunghoon suffers from social anxiety, he never forgot the middle school bullying and he just go on crowded parts of school if jake is beside him. thinking of you does make him feel better, but going on a date already makes him nervous, plus in a cinema or a restaurant? it's not working for him. he spent the whole night trying to figure out something, but he can only think of his own home. he can't invite you for his house, you'll sure think he's a weirdo!

next morning, sunghoon has a very tired face, you notice that, you gave him a cheerful good morning, but his just sounded... empty. now at break, you look at him at the table next to yours, he looks sad, lost and after looking at you he suddently leaves, letting half sandwich behind. you're worried and follows him. jake started to think you're a weirdo too for stealing the half sandwich, but you don't care, you want your favorite boy to eat his food well.

you follow sunghoon to a far place in school's garden, no one is ever there. he was crying so desesperatedly you heart hurts. "JAKE I SAND NOT TO COME, GO AWAY, LEAVE ME ALONE" he's very rude. "oh, im s- sorry! just gonna leave this here." you leave the sandwich near him "eat well my prince, hope you feel better" you just ended saying that when he grabs your arm "you... y-you can stay" you sit by his side. he hugs you and starts crying again. you pat his head. "do you wanna talk about it?" you try to sound very sweet so he feels confortable. "i love you, i love you so much" he cries "but i can't take you to a date and you'll think im a weirdo if i invite you to my house and if i do nothing i'll graduate this year and never see you again, i need to see you everyday or my life will suck again" he lays his head on your legs and you continue to pat his hair. "i- if, if i don't see you it's better to die" "don't worry, you'll see me a lot! it's okay hoonie, i can visit your house anytime, i know you're not a weirdo" you kiss his forehead. "do you really want to date a loser like me? who can't protect you and cries everyday?" he looks at you with doe eyes. Glass Joe and Eleanor stuff

I gave you pretty basic information about my stupid little punch out oc time to share about her relationship with Joe.

* Lots of cuddling. Getting into bed is one of their favorite parts of the day.

* Lots of stuffed animals on the bed because of Eleanor. Joes had to explain on multiple occasions they really aren’t his. He doesn’t mind as long as she’s happy.

* They would show pda more but they really don’t due to how socially anxious Eleanor is. Most they do is hold hands and sometimes kiss

* Lots of kisses at home though. Cheek kisses, nose kisses, forehead kisses, etc.

* They are the parents of Joes cat BonBon who is a white doll faced Persian cat(I think those are safe Persians but if not she’s a ragdoll. My head is full of thoughts of him but none of the thoughts are cohesive cuz in all my years I still don't fully understand him

He's a guy who comes off as lighthearted and carefree but when you really look at him I think he's such a hardworking person. He only eats food that's healthy for him, never eating anything just because he wants to; god knows being a teacher is such a difficult job, grading papers, teaching a classroom of teenagers who didn't choose to be there, so much paperwork; in his diary, he says that he always takes notes on how every lesson goes and he plans each lesson 3 days in advance.

After finishing work at school, he works another job, one that's actually very strenuous and physically demanding and loud and surrounded by so many people. When does he practice?

Also, when does he eat? He'll have Tei's breakfast in the morning, then have what, canteen food at school?? Then what'll he have after that? Some days he comes home so late he probably doesn't even get dinner. Does he have the time??

Then ik he likes to watch anime at night so how much does he sleep? He has bath in morning and probably has lengthy skincare routine. Bet you any money he shaves.. Even waxes.

Look, I'm basically saying, how much damn time to himself does he even have? Ik Eri said he comes home holding shopping bags everyday but he also often splashes out on Eri too, spending a lot on her and the dolls. I think it's cute.

Because they share a room, Yuri somehow found out about Tei's secret desires, so Tei purposefully makes people want to not take Yuri seriously so that of he ever tells anyone about Tei, they won't believe him

Yuri is so confusing and fascinating and amazing and sweet and cute and complicated..

He explains, on the date he takes Eri on, that he isn't just a flirt for fun: he simply mirrors the love that other people are already giving him. He says that he does this because it's both in his concept and because he believes it to be the polite thing to do

However, he also displays that he has difficulty understanding what other people are feeling, often misunderstanding that Eri isn't angry when she very much is and constantly finds her actions and emotions confusing. I think possibly the funniest instance of this is when the Korean teacher is so obviously flirting with him, giving him home baked muffins and asking him to eat with her but he doesn't even realise that she's flirting and he speaks to her sincerely and calmly, actually declining to eat lunch with her.

He only ever responds to people's love, never initiating it himself, but he says that Eri is the first/only person he's ever wanted to initiate love with. I think tho that his love for her is his way of thanking her for buying and loving him in the first place, which is very sweet.

He's so fascinating to me because I don't- I still don't understand him. I love him.

Wait! I just thought of something. Yuri's issue always reminds me of a quote from Bojack Horseman: "Everybody loves you. But nobody likes you." He is surrounded by people who love him but don't like him. They only really like him for his looks, for who he is on the surface. Their love for him is insincere so therefore, the love he mirrors to them is insincere too.

He's only really used to experiencing and mirroring that insincere kind of love. So is that why he didn't understand that the Korean teacher was flirting? Because she knows him better than most the other people who flirt with him, and potentially does love him sincerely since she made homemade muffins for him. Because her love for him is sincere, is that why he didn't understand what she was feeling? He thought she was just being nice and took the muffins out of politeness

A particular quote that interests me about Yuri is one in which he implies he knows people's love for him is not sincere. After Eri leaves the club, he chases after her, and she asks him why he left since people will surely miss him if he's gone. But he responds with something to the effect of "they won't even notice I'm gone" which I think speaks such volumes about him, his character, his beliefs, and his attitude towards those people

He comes off as such a player but he knows they don't really care about him and by his choice to follow Eri, he doesn't damn care about them either. He understands that their love is superficial but superficial love is the only thing he does understand.. When he realises that the reason he wants to give things to Eri is because his love for her isn't superficial, he doesn't know what to do. It's too unfamiliar to him, on top of the fact that it's against his concept

No wonder he got identity crises n shit, man. Who the hell is he? Is he all the superficial surface level shit he mirrors from everyone else? Is he someone capable of sincere love? Who is he?? God damn.

i finally saw the barbie movie yesterday with my bf and best friend

while cute and fun and i liked the plot a lot, i think it falls victim to something I've seen a few modern movies fall victim to, and that's very unnatural dialogue randomly thrown in in order to say/teach a message but it just always feels so unnatural when delivered (by no fault of the actors) and comes across as someone quoting a twitter post or lecturer's powerpoint. And with that said, i see why so many ppl were calling Barbie the feminism 101 movie. Because half of the dialogue feels like it was ripped straight from a feminist activist's twitter page rather than natural dialogue you could imagine coming from 2 actual people talking irl. Like i understand it's a movie so not every movie is going to have "natural" speech patterns, sure, BUT i also shouldn't feel like the characters are speaking like my old sociology professors giving a lecture from my women's studies courses lol.

I first saw this weird dialogue stuff happen in The Blackening, a black horror comedy movie, and didn't think too much about it considering it was an indie movie and all and it was only a few times, but when huge budget movies like BARBIE is having these weird twittery "chronically online" type of speech patterns thru the entire movie I think it's time to point it out and question it a lil bit. Because you know once a billion dollar movie like barbie did it it's definitely going to become a trend. I just? I feel like there's better ways to put a message into a movie without feeling like I'm in my college lecture halls again with how academic they talk. And this is ALSO why so many conservatives try to trash on things like this simply because it's low hanging fruit to pick apart because they're using terms they know they dont like and won't bother to actually learn the message being said because they used words like feminism and patriarchy thru the entire thing. So the ppl that need to hear/learn the feminism 101 messages will blalantly refuse to learn it simply because of the language used and the way they spoke you know?

Idk. Sorry for the rant. Barbie truly was a good movie but the dialogue just truly did bother me with how unnatrual and weird it was to me. And? Idk like ik they're dolls and a lot of the movie is supposed to give the "kids playing with dolls" feel, but once they're in the real world that doesn't rly apply i think? And also a lot of things felt like they were playing in jepoardy in a way? Like once barbie said "i feel afraid without any direct thing to be afraid about" and a random mom walked by and she said "that's anxiety!". Like what 😭 that feels like a jeopardy question not a human interaction! I understand she was only in the real world for a few hours at that point but still?? This was almost a repeating pattern of speech as well and i just??? Maybe its because i used to write a lot in my early 20s and teens and it was very dialogue based fanfics so maybe thats why its bothering me *especially* cuz it was a hobby of mine for so long but i just... i just rly hope this kinda speech pattern of dialogue doesn't catch on.
