A Guide to Sleep Token
This will be a post for new fans looking to learn some basic/surface level information about the band Sleep Token.

So basically, Sleep Token is an “atl-prog-blackened shoegaze”(what it sounds like to me) band from Britain. People mostly associate them with heavy metal (myself included) But in reality, no one really knows what genre they are and I think the band likes it that way.

Lore / Terms to Know
Their lore goes that the lead singer had a dream where he encountered an elder God called "Sleep" (its actual name is impossible for the human tongue to speak) thus, he created the band to make music in worship to the God.
They call their songs "offerings", presumably to Sleep.
Concerts are called "rituals".
When you buy merchandise, you are "consuming" it.
The term "worship" is used by the band and fans as a form of acknowledgement.
The band has a total of 7 members and are known as "vessels". All are anonymous, using masks, body paint, and robes to hide themselves. It is said they do this because their music is more important than their identities.

(I) Also known as Vessel (V or Vess) is the lead singer/vocalist of the band and wears a sculpted mask with an exposed mouth. His mask changes based on the album. His vocal range is like no other, at one point singing like an angel before immediately shifting gear into a black metal scream.
II

(II) is the drummer. A fantastic one at that. His solos are godly, very reminiscent of jazz or gospel. (I believe he started the band alongside Vessel) Check out “An Offering from II” on YouTube to see him go crazy.
Recently he did an interview with Drumeo on YouTube where he talks about his influences and does drum playthroughs of a few songs that demonstrate his drumming prowess.
III

(III) is the bassist, or the "bassy boy" as many fans call him. He is quite the character on stage. His energy is unmatched. You'll often find him prancing on the right side of the stage or laying on his back trying to get Vessel's attention (and Vessel does)
IV

(IV) is the guitarist, often has a covert/cool energy to him but he can be just as captivating as III. Over time he's developed a bit of a flirtatious side toward the crowd. Fuckboy energy(affectionate). He also provides sub vocals, raw screaming certain parts when Vessel is busy singing his heart out lol.

Then there are the 3 last members, the choir or vessellettes. They are the three cloaked figures in the back who provide sub-vocals/harmonies. They may not be too audible on certain recorded tracks, but live they sound absolutely heavenly, making songs go from amazing to spectacular!
Music
Song structure-wise, the best way I can call it is measured emotional chaos. Fans are still trying to decipher their meanings here and on Reddit. 
But what seems to be the theme is toxic relationships, unhealthy coping, romantic trauma, bitter sweat endings, and eventual closure. It's really gripping stuff I'll tell ya. You gotta hear it for yourself to really understand.
There is ALOT more but that's about a general rundown.
They have 2 EPs called "One" and "Two". These are the band's earliest work but they are still fantastic.
They've only got 3 albums out as of writing this. "Sundowning", "This Place Will Become Your Tomb", and "Take Me Back to Eden"(the one released this year)

Voice of the Karen: Our coupons only expired yesterday! We should turn them in, and she refuses to accept them, then call the bloody manager! Oh and this dreary store could certainly use some Christmas music! Hold on, play this one! That would certainly liven this place up a bit!
Voice of the Hero: Uhh…are you sure that's a good idea? She looks like she'd absolutely hate that right now.
Voice of the Karen: Who cares if she hates it! My music taste is impeccable, plus we can always get her fired if she verbally assaults us!
Narrator: You're supposed to slay the princess not-
Voice of the Karen: Oh shut up! The PRINCESS is in our minivan, outside. With her friends. Waiting for us to get them some food before we get them to soccer practice.
Voice of the Hero: Wait wait wait!…when did we get a car…or-or kids! For that matter.
Voice of the Karen: Shut up. Now, play this song, I'm sure everyone will just LOVE this!
Narrator: sigh You play 'All I Want For Christmas' by 'Mariah Carey'. The entire cabi- I mean, store, becomes engulfed in festive cheer. The princess looks at you with wide, dead eyes.
The Retailer: "That horrible song. Again."
Voice of the Karen: HORRIBLE?!?! Why I oughta-
Voice of the Hero: Maybe we should turn that off, I don't like how she's staring at us.
Voice of the Karen: MANAGER! CALL THE MANAGER!
Slayer: "It's not a horrible song! It's art! Maybe if you opened up your cold dead heart, you'd be able to appreciate it!"
Narrator: The princess smiles sardonically, her voice strained.
The Retailer: "That song is the reason my heart is 'cold' and 'dead' in the first place."
Narrator: Her smiles drops, her eyes still hauntingly wide.
The Retailer: "Now turn it off. Or else."
Voice of the Karen: Report her to the manager! She's threatening violence against us!
Voice of the Hero: She didn't threaten us though? Maybe we should turn it off. She looks…angry.
Narrator: Maybe you should listen to that little voice. If she gets angry, she might destroy the world. My world.
Voice of the Karen: No! No! We're reporting her to the manager now! No hesitating!
Slayer (Karen): "Are you…threatening me..? GET ME YOUR MANAGER! NOW! YOU DON'T DESERVE THIS JOB! I should know, the customers always right!"
Narrator: Are you serious? Are we really doing this? sigh As you continue berate the princess and threaten to get her fired, she closes her eyes with a relaxed smile. Then…you hear the sound of something piercing through skin and muscle before you feel the cold sensation. As you look down, you find a phillips screwdriver embedded in your chest. The princess must've stabbed you while you were ranting. As you look back up at her, you notice the shift in her expression, her previously tired, dead eyes now look at you with an unrestrained fury. She isn't smiling. She throws the barcode scanner at your head with such strength and accuracy that you are knocked down.
You hear her jump over the counter and see her stand over you, she leans down to look at you with what is clearly a mocking smile.
The Retailer: "Oh, I'll take you to meet the manager, alright?"
Narrator: She takes a 'Live. Love. Laugh.' ceramic mug that you had bought from your bag, and then raises it high over your head. She brings it down at once, smashing it into your face, then again. And again, until it finally breaks, and the broken pieces stick themselves into your bruises and your eyes. The rest of the pieces clatter on the ground. You feel another sharp pain in the chest, right in your heart, as she rips the Phillips screwdriver out of the previous hole in your chest and drives it through your ribs and into your vital organ. Over and over again until you're sure your ribs are no less broken than your mug.
sigh
Everything goes dark, and you die.

BIOGRAPHY:
Growing up with parents that were heavily involved in the medical field was very intimidating. It probably wouldn’t have been as bad if said parents didn’t put so much pressure on you to the point where felt sick to your stomach a majority of your life. With a father that was a neurosurgeon and a mother who was a cardiovascular surgeon, you felt like you had to live up to their image, especially being the first child that they had. He never thought that someone would feel remotely the way that Jasper felt, but then he met Devi Nadar. 
Since they both grew up with rich families, he felt like they thought the same way that money wasn’t as big of a deal as their parents may have felt. While Jasper excelled in science and math classes, it was clear that he was going to end up in med school just to make his parents proud. What they didn’t know was that he was planning to become a pediatric surgeon. He felt like there weren’t enough pediatric doctors in the nation overall and even less surgeons. He had gone off to med school but he remained close with Devi, not wanting to be severed from her. 
A lot of people would’ve thought that Devi and Jasper were dating and he didn’t mind that because he knew what him and Devi had with one another. They kept in touch with his best friend as he went through school and even his residency. He didn’t have as much time to hang out with her throughout the residency but luckily she understood that about him which made Jasper appreciate the time they had together even more. 
Jasper met a woman who was as gorgeous as they came. He thought he was going to spend the rest of his life with her. Things were going great until well, they weren't. She eventually got sick of Jasper's long hours and constantly being on call during his residency that she was tired of feeling alone. Jasper did though try to come by and surprise her with flowers and take out so that they could spend an evening they didn't know they were going to get together with the one he loved. Well, he came home to her in bed with someone else. Jasper's heart was broken. 
After his residency, Jasper remained in New York and got a job as an attending at Mt. Sinai Hospital as a pediatric surgeon attending. He has performed many life saving surgeries in his time as an attending and he is grateful to have helped as many kids as he could. While his parents think he copped out in going to pediatrics, his younger sisters have been routing for him since day one.

hello !! so, a lovely anon has sent me the most wondrous ask analysing (from a byler perspective) the lyrics from an album that came out on friday night, the likes of which is by my current favourite band (and hyperfixation). unfortunately, my reply was getting ridiculously long, so i shall screenshot the different parts of this ask and add them to this post instead ~
needless to say, i'll also be connecting these beautiful lyrics to byler :O many an au idea has spawned from me listening to this album a few times over, so there's that too. if you're a byler who've never even heard of this band, i highly suggest you check them out; some of their songs are very heavy, others are not and may even be considered pop. regardless of the music, all the lyrics are wonderful and they're definitely worth a listen.

okei, so for the "simple" question: i don't know which is my favourite new release, they're all just so good :( maybe 'ascensionism', for it's the one that's been stuck in my head all day x.x but really, they're all perfection and if these guys don't get a grammy or five i'll be very mad >:(
anyway, you said you were joking but i'm actually buzzing with excitement at the prospect of analysing the whole thing so here we go ~

first, the singles (i'll be as brief as possible):
i. chokehold: ah,,, the perfect start of the album. i think the song is mostly about vessel's devotion to sleep, but these lyrics really feel like s1 mike to me :O - - - - - - - - - - - beneath the stormy seas, above the mountain peaks, it's all the same to me, it makes no difference. i've seen my days unfold, done the impossible. i'll turn my walls to gold to bring you home again. - - - - - - - - - - - yeah,,, just the disposition to do anything and defeat all obstacles in order to literally "bring [this person] home again" really reminded me of mike :]

ii. the summoning: such an exquisite single,,, really the best song to pull people in~ needless to say, the bridge brings a really neat dynamic that would work really well in an aged-up fic, i think. - - - - - - - - - - - oh, and my love. did i mistake you for a sign from god? or are you really here to cast me off? or maybe just to turn me on? 'cause these days i would be lying if i told you that i didn't wish that i could be your man, or maybe make a good [boy] bad. - - - - - - - - - - - maybe the classic good student will/rebellious mike? something like that :D

iii. granite: this was my favourite single !! it's dark and moody and it paints a sad but somewhat beautiful picture :O from the lyrics this is about a dysfunctional relationship and codependency, so it doesn't quite fit canon byler :S an au, however,,, - - - - - - - - - - - i was more than just a body in your passenger seat, and you were more than just somebody i was destined to meet, i see you go half-blind when you're looking at me. but i am. between the second-hand smoke and the glass on the street, you gave me nothing whatsoever but a reason to leave, you say you want me, but you know i'm not what you need. but i am. - - - - - - - - - - - ,,,yeah. messy queer relationships can be fun to write and read and this one paints a very interesting scenario ~ when i first heard it, i immediately associated it with my serial killer au :D

iv. aqua regia: this one is such a vibe ~ i originally didn't care much for it, tbh, and it took me a while to get the metaphors x.x but once i got it i really started liking the song a lot more ! - - - - - - - - - - - aqua regia, (< gold refiner; vessel describes himself as gold before) oxytocin running in the ether. (< the ether would be the internet,,,) silicon ballrooms, (< silicon is a main component of electronics, so instead of social gatherings happening in an actual ballroom, they happen on the phone) subatomic interactions if it's all good. - - - - - - - - - - - so yeah, my understanding is that the main character in this song is someone who resists technology, but stops trying to fight it once they meet someone they feel something for online which is quite lovely ~ also, these lines are so cute: - - - - - - - - - - - oh, when i am done dancing to alarm bells no wonder my ears are still ringing. - - - - - - - - - - - (just imagine vessel bouncing around all excited about getting a message from this person :D ) anyway, um, modern byler au where mike is an anti-technology nerd who finally gets himself a phone just so that maybe he can talk to this really cute, semi-instagram-popular guy he likes from one of his lectures ^-^

v. vore: um,,, yeah,,, as someone who leans towards heavier music i love this song so so much !! the themes of obsession are amazing and really build on the concepts brought up in "this place will become your tomb", so that's a nice callback :O needless to say, there's not much bylering going on here but the vibe really goes well with aforementioned serial killer au, so there's that x.x

ix. dywtylm: aha, last single ! i must admit, i also didn't care for it a lot when i first heard it but, within the context of the album, it's a great break between "the apparition" and the final part of the record ~ so, i think i'd mentioned this before (?) but i can't remember,,, anyway, the lyrics scream mike at me ~ - - - - - - - - - - - and my reflection just won't smile back at me like i know it should. and i would turn into a stranger in an instant if i could. and there is something eating me alive, i don’t know what it is. maybe not that you conceal your feelings, they just don't exist. - - - - - - - - - - - also these: - - - - - - - - - - - and i've tried so hard to fix it all but nothing seems to help, but i cannot hope to give you what i cannot give myself. - - - - - - - - - - - yeah, canon mike's insecurities, guilt and confusion really reflect on those lyrics :( if i were to write something around this, it'd probably be a post m*leven break-up thing where mike is unsure if he has a chance with will, so they’re both just dancing around each other,,,

vi. ascensionism: my absolute favourite song of the album ;-; there's something about fun genre-merging that really tickles my brain ~ i can't say i get the lyrics as much as the other songs, but from what i get it's about a relationship that's gone awry and both parts know they need to break up, but neither one wants to do it :( (there's also some stuff about a pseudo-religion called "ascensionism" and from what i get, it would imply that our main character believes they deserve this because of something they did in a previous life, so by accepting this, they will be able to ascend,,, or something like that x.x again, i don't quite get it just yet.) anyway, as much as i like this song i can't really connect it to byler ;-; maybe an exes fic, where they reflect on their fallout ? i don't do well with those, unfortunately x.x

vii. are you really okay?: this song is so pretty and sad :( i actually quite liked it !! it doesn't sound like anything from the soundtrack, i don't think, but it reminded me of my favourite film ever ("the crow") ~ the 90s vibes are delightful and it really gave me a feel of nostalgia that only added on to the emotion ;-; now, out of all the lyrics i'd say these are the most straightforward so i don't think i need to say what this is about :( and it's not quite the same, but i heard this part and had an idea for a short fic: - - - - - - - - - - - and i, i cannot fix your wounds this time. but i, i don't believe you when you tell me you are fine. please don't hurt yourself again. - - - - - - - - - - - picture this: during the confrontation about the painting, mike finds out about everything will has sacrificed to help him be happy so he tries to comfort him.

viii. the apparition: ah, this song feels so short :( it's very pretty though, all about vessel's troubled relationship with sleep ~ indeed, those lyrics you mentioned do feel very byler coded :O maybe their feelings between s3 and s4, when both of them were mourning their perceived lost connection (which they could've solved with a single phone call, but alas,,,) ? something like that ~ as for the dream stuff, i can definitely see will yelling this at vecna, once he's fed-up with the nightmares and being messed with and all that: - - - - - - - - - - - just let me go or take me with you. - - - - - - - - - - - granted, vessel's relationship with sleep is more of devotion than hatred (as reflected by the rest of the lyrics), but that particularly line gave me that visual :O i propose an alternative to the vecna interpretation, though: - - - - - - - - - - - why are you never real? whenever you appear you leave me with that grace, i am trembling with fear. but i know that you will disappear, just as i awake. whisper in my ear. - - - - - - - - - - - imagine that will's been taken by vecna (slipped into a coma or something of such nature) and he communicates with mike through his dreams :] that could be interesting, i think ~

x. rain: woo, byler-coded song !! those verses you wrote definitely feel like them, maybe once they get their stuff together and they accept that they can achieve happiness with each other ;-; i also love the references to other songs ~ part of the chorus feels a lot like "atlantic", there was a callback to "aqua regia" (something about 'saturate'), the 'game' part of the lyrics might be tied to "blood sport",,, i really like it !! the music is amazing and i can proudly inform you that listening to this as it rains around you is a wonderful experience ~ i have nothing more to add to your analysis n_n so, for a fic, i'd write about the direct moment after they defeat vecna and everything is done, with them running into each other's arms and just being happy to have each other, fully, at last.

xi. take me back to eden: the title track,,, an absolute masterpiece ;-; it's got everything musically, the most amazing breakdown, and it really is the perfect song to explain who they are :( and vessel's lyrics,,, "i dream in phosphorescence",,, who thinks of that ? x.x he's by far one of the best lyricists i know >.< the references to previous releases are so cool, too: - the ocean references are a call back to "tpwbyt" - the second verse alludes to "nazareth" (my favourite song) - the biting stuff is from "the offering" - shakespeare's "the merchant of venice" gets quoted - and of course, the first verse from "chokehold" is repeated to round the whole thing up :O ah, amazing,,, anyway, about the lyrics you shared,,,, yes. to all that ~ perfect interpretation <3 the chorus itself can be very byler, too: - - - - - - - - - - - my, my, those eyes like fire, i'm a winged insect, you're a funeral pyre. come now, bite through these wires, i'm a waking hell and the gods grow tired. reset my patient violence along both lines of a pathway higher, grow back your sharpest teeth, you know my desire. - - - - - - - - - - - from mike's pov, he knows he's attracted to will and he perceives that acting on those feelings is dangerous (he's a moth to a flame), but at some point he's tired of being miserable and wants to confront this. it also works from will's pov, with him having already (unknowingly) been hurt by mike and he's tired of hurting, but he can't seem to back away. ,,,i think it works, but you tell me ~ overall, the song really reflects a longing for an innocence lost and we all know mike, will and the entire party can resonate with that :(

xii. euclid: the perfect outro to the album (and the trilogy) !! such a gorgeous piece with one too many musical and lyrical references to other songs to list x.x with the way it ties back to "the night does not belong to god" (first song in sundowning), it really feels like closing a chapter and i can't pretend it didn't make me cry ;-; (i wonder if the song is called euclid because he was the father of geometry, and this song turns the trilogy into a circle,,,) anyway, i haven't got much more to say than what you've already mentioned,,, these lyrics have been gorgeous since the original song,,, - - - - - - - - - - - the whites of your eyes turn black in the lowlight. in turning divine we tangle endlessly, like lovers entwined. - - - - - - - - - - - and these ones (which you already mentioned but i want to repeat because they gave me chills with how pretty they are) really encapsulate byler, i think - - - - - - - - - - - do you remember me when the rain gathers? and do you still believe that nothing else matters? for me it's still the autumn leaves, these ancient canopies that we used to lay beneath. - - - - - - - - - - - yeah,,, i've got nothing more to say,,,

summary: I used to think the line between good and evil was seared into existence, dividing the world into two: either you were one of the good or one of the bad. But reality is full of grays. I wish I could remain faithful to the ideals I believed were the pillars of my being, always searching for justice even when I didn’t know if it existed. But when I left my home, I delved into a spiral of self-destruction and death that left me with few options other than embracing temptation. Favorite Final Fantasy Music (FFIII)

holy shit why is that first line so big??? I am not good at this website but fuck it I'm keeping it cause it's funny (future styrm: this isn't big in some views???? i don't understand) FFIII is my admitted least favorite (note: not bad! just least favorite! least best, even, c tier at worst) FF game, but I still think it has some good tracks so Let Me Share My Onions (see this is funny because I call opinions onions sometimes and onion knight is what you start as see it's a good joke) This is also a case of I think the PR is the absolute best version of this soundtrack but I can't find a good upload of it so if you can listen to any of those versions of these songs please do so 5. The Forbidden Land, Eureka I just really like the melody of this one! I think it's fun. It also sounds very heroic, which I think works really well for the final (4) dungeon(s). Not much else to say I just like it :)
4. Crystal Cave This is such a good first area theme. Something I think I just like about FFIII's music is the kind of like, twinkling? I think? I don't know the music words, but anyways that twinkling that a lot of the good songs have, it makes me think of crystals! And thinking of crystals in FF is good. I also attribute some of me liking this to my first experience with this song being Labyrinth of the Ancients in XIV so when I first got here in my III playthrough I did the soyjak point cause OHHH IT'S THE SONG
3. Eternal Wind Everyone knows this one. This is like, the one thing that FFIII has done for the world (lie), it's got 20,000,000 different versions and not one is bad (i'm not fond of the DS one). I do think I personally like this song more because of the connection to the rest of the series (XIV), but I think it has a very nice melody, and is probably the best overworld theme of the NES games. Special shoutouts to the Dissidia version, which sounds something straight out of the early internet and I love it, probably my favorite version.
2. The Dark Crystals This song is magical. I love the soft harp/piano (depending on the version) backing the song, and the quiet calm melody. It perfectly feels like a dark, empty void realm, walking on crystal, but then it hypes up, reminding you that "oh this is the final dungeon out of my 4 segment long super tower of fun" and that you're the big heroes about to save the world
1. Last Battle This song. This song is so good. Yeah sure I might be cliche picking the final boss theme as my favorite song but I do not care and I will most likely continue to do so cause I'm a generic bitch! I love the build up. It sounds perfectly creepy like you are in the dark and this evil force is growing, then it goes into the big epic finale battle, all awesome, perfect for getting hit with 72,000 giant laser beams because it only has one attack Special shoutouts to Battle 1, Battle 2 and The Crystal Tower who, while good, couldn't quite hit top 5 for me

Apollonius suddenly finds himself powerless. His arsenal of spells does not work anymore and his demons can't reach him.
[Demons:] Come to us now, Magic Master
Sophia's spirit rises behind the demons. Her magic has bound him and by her chanting she is able to turn Apollonius' demons against him. She is taking revenge for what he did to Johanna.
[Sophia:] Demons you did send To possess my Johanna My child!
He also killed her btw. I find it sort of touching that Sophia appears to avenge Johanna even though they were so estranged when she was alive. Sophia cares for Johanna despite their differences and even though Johanna would not even visit her at her deathbed.
Apollonius tries to defend himself from her magic, though not from her accusations.
[Apollonius:] Rest assured my lore will my soul defend Reach me you can never who are from heaven sent
It's interesting that he claims she's "from heaven sent". We the audience know that she actually met Satan in whatever astral afterlife she was in. Does Apollonius see anyone who opposes him as an agent of God? Or was Sophia in heaven, but Satan is allowed there?
[Demons:] Come to us now, Magic Master [Apollonius:] In this time and place, where will I go? Sophia, be cursed Eternally I shall haunt you [Sophia:] Not the only one with powers, magic man you are [Apollonius:] I will cast you out, you traitors of the spell Serpents of Sophia, be gone [Demons:] Here we are still, all by the light rejected And by your will in astral vaults created [Sophia:] Now from a kingdom of your own to the void you return
Apollonius makes some seemingly empty threats that don't appear to intimidate Sophia. He then threatens his own demons, who are also unfazed. Finally, he realizes that it would be best if he fled. Being immortal, he reasons that he can still re-enter history later.
[Apollonius:] At this growing eve, could it be that I'm done? Why should I come to grieve? My voyage carries on [Demons:] You will join us in the darkness Come to us now, Magic Master

"Hoo, boy," Warren sighed, running a hand down his face. "I feel strange."
Thrive nodded from his seat at the opposite end of the couch from him. "I've noticed this happens when you've had red wine."
"You think I could be allergic? I haven't even had two glasses."
Swirling his own wine in the stemmed glass held between his long fingers, Thrive shrugged, using a remote in his other hand to flip through the streaming titles on the TV. "It's possible. I'd stop drinking that one to be safe."
Warren perched his glass on the coffee table. "Dinner was great, by the way. Thanks for cooking."
"I'm happy to do it." Thrive switched to a music app and started one of Warren's playlists, getting to his feet. "I'll do the dishes tonight since you're not feeling all that well."
"You sure? I could probably still do 'em…"
"Don't worry about it. There isn't that much to do."
"Only 'cause you clean as you cook." Warren chuckled, tapping his foot to the song. "You fuckin' nerd."
He caught a good-natured eye roll as Thrive entered the kitchen with both glasses.
The song changed and Warren shot off the couch. "Oh, here we go!"
"What's that?"
"I choreographed a whole thing for this," Warren said, already into it, moving as if it were second nature. The up-tempo dance beat kept a wide smile on his face even when Thrive paused his task to watch him with an odd look from the open kitchen. "Didn't you know I danced from middle school to college?"
"…Can't say that I did," Thrive said.
"Yeah, man," Warren cheered, letting the music overcome him. He danced around the coffee table, singing along, and he brought his hyped energy into the kitchen, where the closer he got to Thrive, the higher the corner of Thrive's mouth inched upward. "Nearly threw my hat into the erotic dancing ring to pay for school."
"Hmm." Thrive used one hand to spray the dishes in the sink with water from the detachable nozzle, not taking his eyes away from Warren. "There's an abundance of qualification, in any case."
Warren stopped and quirked an eyebrow. "Well that's an interesting development. Like what you see, Judge?" He spread his arms and swayed his hips. "This doin' it for you?"
Thrive cocked his head. "Would you want it to?"
"Considering I'm half a misfired synapse away from grinding on you, I'd say so, yeah."
"Maybe not into that, per se," Thrive said, turning his full—yet visibly reluctant—attention onto the pans he cooked with, "…but I may want to revisit the erotic dancing topic in a little bit."
"If you want a lap dance, it's fifty bucks."
Thrive laughed. "Don't ask how I know this, but that's a bit steep."
Warren paused between songs and ambled the few feet to him. He snaked a hand around the back of Thrive's neck and leaned in close to his ear. "My guy…this would be the best lap dance of your entire life."
"It would be the only lap dance of my entire life," Thrive muttered, though his voice had subtly tightened.
"And god, would I be honored to give it." Warren's fingers raked through Thrive's hair, rubbing into his scalp with gentle firmness.
Thrive forced out a breath as he attempted to focus on his chore. "Give me ten minutes."
"You have five."
"I can do three."
"Speedrun it, baby," Warren purred. He snickered, starting up a dance for the next song and moving into the hallway that contained their bedrooms.
Warren opened his eyes to complete silence and a pitch-dark room. The playlist had clearly run out ages ago and someone had the forethought to shut off all the lights in the apartment. He shifted and knocked his elbow into a body beside him, earning a grunt for the occasion.
