Chronobug
WHO ELSE IS EXCITED FOR CHRONOBUG?
I gave it a go to what I think would be a cool design for Chronobug in the upcoming London special. I tried to take inspo from y2k and some futuristic elements to play with the time aspect of the bunny. What are you most excited for the specia?

Is it just me or is Twilight Sparkle a jerk in some of your AUs (I am reffering to false draconequus and your Cozy Glow head cannon).
I like writing flawed characters. My personal favorite version of Twilight Sparkle ever is the one in Mentally Advanced Series/Rainbow Dash Presents, and I tend to base my au versions of Twilight off of it. I love Twilight as a cynical pessimist that thinks she's a realist, I love her being sarcastic and sardonic and just trying to put up with everyone's shit. Here's my favorite quote from MAS/RDP Twilight that I think sums how I write au versions of Twilight pretty well:
"Well, the social sciences are nearly impossible to test empirically, and my little case studies are the furthest thing from scientific. So the best thing I can learn is the magic of drinking with Applejack on the weekends but only specifically with Applejack. And those lessons don’t generalize over to other ponies unless the lesson is insanely vague. And sometimes not even then."
There's just something about this cute little purple pony being an overworked cynic a la "confound these ponies they drive me to drink" that suits my fancy. I have a lot of MLP aus that I don't ever talk about, especially shared ones with my partner, and usually Twilight ends up acting somewhat like this (and also usually ends up a stallion... but thats just for fun.)
As for my nextgen's Twilight, I honestly dont write her that way (shocker). That one doodle in the Cozy Glow au image is a veryyy small glimpse into my nextgen, but overall I write my nextgen Twilight the exact same as in canon. I genuinely do believe that Twilight would try to justify keeping Cozy in stone prison, because Twilight loooves ignoring the fact that people can change. It's how she acted with Trixie, its how she acted with the Flim Flam brothers, its how she acted with Discord. Yes she was right about Flim and Flam, but she had no way of knowing that. Twilight as a character in canon has a very hard time believing that people who have done wrong by her and her friends are capable of change. The line I wrote in that image feels very in character to me, I can hear it in Twilight's voice near perfectly.
Don't think that any of this means I think Twilight is cruel or that I don't like her! I love her! I love characters who make mistakes and fuck up and are sometimes bad people! Hell, my top favorite Pokémon characters are all trainers who have either abandoned their pokemon or are otherwise cruel to them (looking at you, Paul...). Basically, I'm not hating on Twilight or writing her like this because I dislike her, I write her like this because I love her

Hey gamers, wanna see some cringe? *starts showing you my Mary Sue self insert*
I made this back when my hair was blue oof.
This is Mono. She's from the burning gates of hell AKA England AKA Galar.
Basic run down of her backstory.
She is from Chirchester. Both her and her childhood friend/rival, Gunner, struggled to get sponsorships to start the League challenge.
After sometime, they were eventually sponsored by Mono's uncle who ran a small business. But to Gunner and Mono, it felt like they were sponsored as a favour rather than because they were recognised as strong trainers.
They were completely overshadowed by the other trainers in the gym challenge. No matter how many gym badges they got or how many battles they won, they weren't seen as 'marketable' by the media.
Gunner believed it was because they saw her as weak and began to train harder. Soon her rivalry with Mono became toxic. They were pushing each other too hard and Gunner started taking her aggression out on Mono.
It got worse when Gunner and Mono were battling and Gunner continued to attack after Mono was defeated. She kept chanting about how Mono needed to get stronger and she was making her look bad as her rival.
Gunner ended up damaging Claus's leg and knocking out Mono in the process. They were saved when Sam (Mono's cinderace) was able to get them to the nearest pokemon center.
Mono was too scared to talk about what happened. She was so used to being ignored by the media, she believed they wouldn't listen.
During her journey, Gunner learns more about the darkest day and how a captured eternatus is kept at Marco Cosmos. She breaks into the facility during Mono's match and summons eternatus.
Mono helps some trainers take down eternatus and stop the darkest day. Gunner is arrested, however she is released as, due to eternatus going on a rampage, there isn't any clear records of how this all happened. Gunner was able to claim they were 'controlled by eternatus' and because there was nothing proving otherwise, she was let off with a lenient punishment.
Mono was too scared to come forward about Gunners pattern of shitty behaviour. She couldn't take the guilt and paranoia and she ended up running away from Galar. She's traveling around different regions but for now, she's staying in Kitikami.
She's slowly working up the courage to go back home but she chickens out every time.
Some fun facts
She's a dark and fire type specialist but also works with ground types.
Her outfit is based on Piers because she's primarily a dark type user.
Because she's a dark type specialist, she's nocturnal.
Theivul and Cinderace are her comfort mons and she takes them with her to every region (even if they aren't aloud)
Zamazenta is also a comfort mon for her (sort of like Kieran and Ogerpon but less obsessive) however, she doesn't believe she's worthy enough to capture zamazenta.
She worked for the subway bosses for a bit, as a night staff announcer.
She was originally an announcer during the day time but she kept swearing into the mic and they moved her to night shift to stop her from scarring the children.
Her pupils glow red from dynamax energy. All galarians can do this.
Her first pokemon was a growlithe names Sam who was the family pet. She wanted him to be her starter on her journey but Sam died of a heart condition before they could go. She instead named her starter (a scorbunny) after him.
Her Galar team consisted of Sam (cinderace), Blue (corviknight), Claus (theivul), Rocky (obstagoon), Harpoon (boltund) and Jake (noivern). She switches them around with other pokemon when traveling different regions.
She's a reck. She's constantly anxious and is quick to run away from her problems.
She needs therapy.
Please ignore any spelling errors. I'm not very smart.

GOTCHA! [001]
[Prologue] [002]
Here's the first official Chapter of my Genshin Impact x Pokemon crossover. If you haven't read the Prologue I'd advise that you do, so that you won't get confused.
✧ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✦✧✦ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✧
"Roo..?"
Rowlet stirred awake, fluttering his eyes open feeling a bit annoyed when his Nap was interrupted, he had such a weird dream about Him and Mavis falling
OH WAIT THEY WERE FALLING
Rowlet let out a shriek, stretching his wings out and proceeded to fly, in order to stop himself from falling to his death.
he let out a small sigh of relief, thankful that he remembered that he is indeed a bird that can fly.
His relief didn't stay for long when he remembered that he wasn't alone in this, he looks down to see the unconscious body of his Trainer, proceeding to fall closer and closer to the earth below.
"ROO?!" He lets out panicked shrieks, before diving down to get her.
he made various attempts to wake her up but none of them worked, He cranked his mind of any ideas to save her, before deciding to fly behind her, grabbing a hold of the back of her coat and proceeding to Flap his wings as hard as he could.
They were still falling but they were slowing down. Rowlet let out frustrated grunts, feeling like his wings were gonna fall off but he pushed through the pain to save her.
He did manage to guide her falling body towards the direction of the ocean, instead of the hard ground where she would surely die.
"roo..roo...!" He grunts, feeling his whole body starting to hurt, he tried to ignore the pain but his claws managed to lose their grip on her coat.
He cried out, watching as her body landed on the water creating a large splash.
"Roo! roo?!" He let out panicked cries as he hovered above the water, he flew around frantically, his cries getting louder and louder as he looked around for something to help him.
Fortunately for the Owl, someone did manage to hear his cries for help.
"Do owls normally go by here?" A blonde haired male asked, glancing at his floating companion.
"Well, not in the ocean!" His companion replied, the both of them stared at the owl in confusion, watching it flew around in circles while frantically letting out panicked Hoots.
Rowlet caught something moving in the corner of his eyes, he stopped and turned towards the two strangers.
without another thought he quickly flew towards them, causing him to nearly crash against the Blonde's chest.
"Woah!" Aether yelped, staring at the bird with wide eyes as Rowlet flew behind him and started pushing him at the direction of the ocean.
"Hey! Let go of him, we don't have any food for you" Paimon scolded, trying to brush the owl away but he was persistent on his task.
"What is it trying to do? do you want us to catch you a fish or something?" Paimon asked, placing her hands on her hips as she stared at the Owl. Rowlet shook his head, flying above the shore, making aggressive body movements to make them understand.
Paimon kept guessing wrong on what the bird wanted, But Aether took notice of the fact that he kept gesturing to the water. Aether looks carefully at the area he kept pointing at.
he squinted his eyes a bit, trying to look for something there.
That was when he saw it
there were bubbles in the water.
Without further hesitation, he quickly jumped into the ocean startling the two.
"Wait Traveler! what are you doing?" Paimon cried out, but it was too late since he already dove down, the two flying creatures could only wait with bated breath for him to resurface.
it took him a few seconds, but he did eventually come up, gasping for air as he held the unconscious body close to his chest.
"Roo!" Rowlet exclaimed, quickly helping the male get his trainer on the shore. Aether didn't have time to catch his breath as he focused on the girl, realizing she wasn't breathing.
"Is that a dead body?!" Paimon shrieked, her words only caused the owl to panic more. Aether paid the two of them no mind and started getting to work.
he placed both his hands on top of each other, pressing them against the woman's chest as he began to do Chest compressions.
"Oh what do we do, what do we do" Paimon whimpered, looking around for something to help them while Rowlet stayed next to his trainer's side, feeling his eyes get watery as he watched the male continue to do chest compressions.
Rowlet certainly didn't know what Aether was doing, but for that moment he trusted the stranger to save his friend's life.
a few minutes passed and Aether was slowly starting to lose hope, but he didn't stop even for a second, He took one look at the worried Owl and kept attempting to save her life.
He never saw an owl looking so expressive, it was clear to Aether on how much it cared about the girl.
After a few more pumps, she finally moved.
Aether moved back, watching with relief as she proceeded to cough out the water, helping her to move to her side so she could puke the ocean water out of her body.
"Oh Thank Archons, she's alive" Paimon sighed in relief, feeling her body nearly give out from the worry.
"Take deep breaths" Aether instructed, gently rubbing her back.
"T-thank you" Mavis muttered, panting for air as she gave him a look of gratitude.
"Roo!" Rowlet called out, immediately crashing against her chest as she instinctively embraced him.
"It was nothing, you should actually thank your owl. without it I wouldn't have noticed in the first place" He says, feeling the adrenaline slowly die down.
"He's right, Paimon thought it was just hungry" The fairy commented, giving the owl a sheepish look.
"Sorry about that, Paimon never would have guessed that someone was in the water." She says, feeling bad for trying to brush It off when it was just trying to save its owner.
Mavis smiled, turning to the bird in her arms, she felt him tremble but it was clear that he was trying to act strong. she held him closer, nuzzling against his head.
"Thank you Rowlet" She whispered, petting his back in an attempt to calm him down, she turned to the two strangers, showing them a grateful smile.
"And thank you for saving me, I owe you one" Mavis said.
Aether stood up, helping her up so that they can dry off properly. the two ended up sitting on an old log near the shore.
"Why were you in the water anyway?" Paimon asked after they did their basic introductions.
"I honestly don't know. I remembered getting ready for bed when the ground started shaking, Then there was a loud roar and a large vortex appeared on the floor, Pulling me and the rest of my Pokemon into various..portals I guess" She explained, her mood shifting as she hugged her knees close to her chest.
The travel companions noticed her shift in mood, seeing the sad and worried look in her eyes.
"What are.. Pokemon?" Paimon asked, titling he head curiously to the side.
Mavis turned to them with a look of surprise as if the presence of Pokemon were common knowledge.
"Pokemon? The unique creatures that have special powers?" She says as if trying to remind them of the common fact, only to receive confused looks.
"How can you not know Pokemon? they're Impossible to miss, since the Alolah region has a lot of them"
"The Alolah region...?" Paimon repeated, not recognizing the foreign word.
"Are we not in the Alolah region? Are we in the other regions then? Kanto? Hoenn? Galar? Sinnoh?" The more she listed the regions in her world, the more the two of them grew confused.
"We're in Teyvat. The country of Mondstadt to be specific" Paimon says, Mavis only gives her a dumbfounded look, she practically explored all the regions in her world, but she never heard of a place called Mondstadt before.
"You're.. also not from this world are you?" Aether spoke up
"Also?" Mavis repeated, she didn't brush off the idea of the possibility that she wasn't in her world, mainly because of the fact that they never heard of Pokemon before.
Aether only nodded, he felt relieved to realize he wasn't alone in this, softening up to the stranger a bit after realizing that they were both stuck in an unknown world.
"I don't know what's going on, but what I do know is that I need to find my Pokemon, they're probably scattered around here." Mavis sighed, not knowing where to start first.
She turned to Aether with a bittersweet smile.
"What about you?" She asks urging him to tell his tale.
He did, thinking that it was only fair that He'll also share his story on how he got here in the first place, He told them about how he got separated from his sister, that he was already familiar with traveling to different worlds, but unfortunately he never stumbled upon Mavis's world before.
"I guess we're pretty similar huh? On wanting to find lost family" Mavis smiles, Aether copies her smile.
"How about you join us on our Journey? The Traveler is trying to find his lost sister, while You're trying to find your Pokemon" Paimon says, floating in front of the two, feeling determined to help them as she places her hands on her hips confidently.
"Luckily for you two, Paimon is the best Guide and travel companion all across teyvat. We'll find each of your Families in no time" She says, putting on a more optimistic approach.
Making the two feel better about their circumstances,
"As long as you'll have us" Mavis chuckles, Rowlet lands on her shoulder giving out a confident hoot.
"We should head off, Let's get going!" Paimon urged them to follow her as she flew on ahead, The two glanced at each other before standing up on their seats to go follow the fairy.
"Rowlet, you go scout ahead. tell me if you spot anything" Mavis instructed letting the Owl fly up, hoping that by doing this they'll find some of her Pokemon along the way.
"Where are we going?"
"A Statue of the seven!" Paimon answered
"I'm hoping to ask the gods to help me find my sister" Aether replied walking alongside her.
"Gods?"
"Do you not have gods in your world?" Paimon questioned
"We do, but it's only a singular god." She muttered, Unlike here she can't just attempt to find Arceus and ask him for a Favor.
It sounds a bit odd the more she thinks about it.
The group continued to make their way to an old statue, they did have to swim to get there though but neither of them complained.
"Here we are! The statue of the Seven, we aren't sure if the God answers your call but it never hurt to try right?" Paimon encourages.
Mavis watches from the side lines as Aether approached the statue.
Placing his hand against the surface, before he could even start praying though, he got interrupted by the statue lighting up.
A light flew out of the statue and gently entered his body, causing parts of his clothes to glow a light blue color.
"Oh, did you feel the elements of the world? seems like all you had to do was touch the statue and you got the power of Anemo" Paimon commented, feeling amazed at such a unique and rare sight.
"Maybe its because.." Aether muttered letting Paimon continue his sentence.
"Uh huh! It's because you're not from this world to begin with. If we keep heading west from here we'll eventually reach Mondsadt the city of freedom" She explained, gesturing to the city in the distance.
"Come to think of It.." Paimon muttered, turning to their New companion.
"Mavis, You're not from this world either so why not give it a try?" She asks gesturing to the statue.
"Perhaps, but I'd rather not. Personally I'm not much of a fighter" She politely rejected. she's a Pokemon Trainer after all, she never really focuses on her own combat abilities since she was too busy focusing on Pokemon.
Paimon respected her wishes and urges the Group to continue forward.
they didn't manage to get too far though when they heard a loud roar, they turned to see a large blue creature flying past them.
Rowlet let out a small fearful hoot nearly getting hit by one of its wings, causing him to retreat back down to the group, landing on Mavis's shoulder once again.
"Woah what is that?" Paimon exclaimed, pointing at the large Dragon.
Mavis's eyes widened in admiration, before proceeding to run after it.
"Hurry! maybe we can ask it some questions" Mavis shouted for them to follow her as she sprinted in the direction of the forest.
Aether manages to catch up to her in no time, seeing Mavis hide behind a tree looking at something in front of her. He looked to see another person, looking to be calming down the Dragon.
"Don't be afraid, it's alright now I'm back" The stranger said, not noticing the groups of individuals watching him.
"I thought you said there weren't any Pokemon in this world?" Mavis whispered to Paimon.
"Paimon didn't lie..!" She whispered shout, before Aether could scold them, his new Anemo abilities began to act up, revealing their presence to the two.
The Dragon let out a loud roar, making an attempt to claw at the male but he thankfully dodged the attack in time.
"Who's there?" the man in green asked, glaring at the direction of the noise. he did eventually disappear once he realized that the Dragon was beginning to escape.
Paimon screamed, feeling the harsh winds nearly blowing her away, forcing her to hold on to Aether's Hair. Rowlet wasn't that lucky as he got flown back and crashed against a nearby tree.
Once the Dragon was out of sight, Mavis quickly went to check on her companion who somehow landed on a bush.
"You okay there Rowlet?" she called out, watching the bush began to rustle before a familiar bird popped up with something in his beak.
"watcha got there?" She muttered, reaching down to take the item, before recognizing it as her backpack.
"You found it!" Mavis exclaimed happily, quickly opening up the backpack and peaked her head inside.
Her head appeared on the other side of the bag, which was through the same ladder she used before this all happened. She scanned the room, taking notice of the fact that it looked exactly the same.
There was even a Skwovet that managed to get inside and was happily eating a bag of berries that Mavis hid in one of the cabinets.
"Skwovet?!" The squirrel yelps, immediately spotting Mavis giving it a scolding look. causing it to sheepishly lower down the bag before scurrying away.
Letting out a sigh of relief she popped her head back out.
"It seems like everything is fine in there" She muttered, zipping the bag closed before wearing it on her back.
"Since my bag is here, then I'm positive that the others are here too! We just got to find them" Mavis muttered, feeling more determined and optimistic.
They went back to see Aether and Paimon looking at a strange red crystal that appears to be floating.
"What is that?" She asks.
"We don't know" Paimon answered, watching as her companion grabbed the item and placed it in his pocket.
"Watcha got there Mavis?" Paimon asked taking note of the bag.
"Rowlet found my bag! If this is here I'm sure the others are here too." Mavis said showing them her backpack, only for Rowlet to zip it open slightly so he can fit inside.
He used his claws to hold on to the top ladder, his head peaking out of the bag as he got comfortable.
"Rowlet.."
Mavis sighed in disbelief, realizing that the owl was already fast asleep.
"Does he normally sleep that fast?"
Aether asked, approaching his new travel buddy. Observing the strangely cute sight of an Owl napping away inside a backpack.
Paimon even gave his cheek a few pokes but it was ignored by the sleeping Owl.
"Yeah, he does that often."
The three continued on their journey to the city of wind, walking along a path.
"Hold it right there!"

Me, about to go to bed: I should check Tumblr fir-
Dipplinduo: ahaha wanna know what would be crazy? *posts 2 chapters*
Me:…
Needless to say, I’m a little tired right now lol. I was VERY excited when I saw that you decided to ignore everyone and make a mess. I love angst, you should make more <3.
BUT, I was VERY happy when 11 started with a battle! As someone who spends her free time EV and IV training her Pokemon, the battling aspect of the games ALWAYS gets me excited. Will say though, Crispin was my least favorite battle lol. Nothing against the guy, but my Ceruledge has flash fire, and the boost it gets from fire moves plus sunny day wiped his team, even with the type null.
The fact that Juli gets so into battles she didn’t even notice the people around them was a nice little add too! Nice little characterization that adds to her I think.
But Kiki’s DREAM. He’s CONNECTED TO PECHARUNT. Maybe he has been for years now! And Pecharunt is the reason his moms gone!? OH MY GOSH. This peach is RUINING this family. (Also, is Kiki’s mom a Bug trainer? So cool. One of my fav pokemon is Vivillion so it’s nice to see bug representation)
But, not much else to say beyond that. The fluff from 12 was pretty cute. We finally got a Julibee, my heart is melting lol!
And poor sour apple, my boy is fighting for his LIFE to get sweet to like him lol. What did he DO to make her HATE HIM (ToT)
Overall. 10/10 once again. I had fun ignoring my sleep schedule for this one lol
The beginning of your ask was so goddamn funny that I had to read it out loud to my lil scheming group who schemes and memes with me LOL
"I love angst, you should make more <3."
...:)
I'm glad you liked the battle scene, I for one dislike them (whether reading or writing) but wanted to try to make it interesting-ish regardless. And WOW what a massive L moment for Crispin against that mon of yours, that's a decided match right there lol
And yess! I love that it was conveyed well. I'm mostly playing off of Drayton's commentary on how the player seems to have a really serious look in their eye when battling.
Peach is indeed breaking the family, and the world may never know because she is now long gone :') APPLIN LOOREEEEE I hope you've gotten some rest, thank you for the fun review lol <3

Lily Orchard and Pokemon: Gen 2
Gen 1
"How did GF manage to fit all of this into a Gameboy? Simple, they had Satoru Iwata do it!"
False.
Satoru Iwata's contributions were him writing a formula to help cut fractions of a second off the numerous load times in the game, like with trainer battles, wild Pokemon and probably stuff like loading in cities. The real reason why Kanto made it was because, quite simply- they had double the space.
Kind of goes to show how much of a basic Pokemon fan Lily is, considering people slightly more informed like me found this out. A limited view that goes onto explaining some of her questionable points, like the Psychic type not being that busted.
But hey, at least it's not offensive terri-
"The games start becoming more directed and firm in their pacing!"
... Really? Now of all times you bring up that idea?
That doesn't even work here. Gold and Silver's tutorial opening may take a few minutes more due to having to go farther and slightly more text but that's likely because GSC has an actual plot and characters to set up. You know, stuff that someone who cares more about the main gameplay rather than features would probably like as it engages the brain more?
I get that Lily doesn't like Pokemon's stories but this stuff isn't very much and it helps make the game more memorable and engaging.
... You know, I honestly thought the follow up would have been worse.
"Silver is an uninteresting rival! He's just edgy and a punk bitch who slags everyone off while getting beat up! He's just an ignorant loser, like Hop!"
Like that. So much worse like that.
A- Silver isn't just an edgy and arrogant kid. He starts this way but becomes better over time, developing from being beaten by Lance and the player so much. Compare his line in his second fight in Azalea Town-
"I hate the weak. Pokémon, Trainers. It doesn't matter who or what. I hate to see them hanging around. That goes for Team Rocket, too. They think they are big and tough as long as they are in a group. But get them alone, and they're weak. I hate them all. You stay out of my way. You won't be an exception if you get in my way."
To his final line.
"…Oh, no… I still can't win after all that training… I…I have to believe more in my Pokémon… …No big deal. Sorry to have got in the way. Don't forget to rest your Pokémon before you challenge the Champion!"
In fact, Silver is the FIRST rival to actually react properly to being constantly beaten by the player, much like Hop.
B- Does Lily's complaints sound...familiar to anyone? As if these complaints do in fact fit a Pokemon Rival...but not Silver?
It should- This applies to BLUE, not Silver. Since, by necessity, Blue WILL lose more to the player than win. And yet he will always brush off his losses and act superior even as the game.
In fact, take his loss line in Oak's Lab-
"WHAT? Unbelievable! I picked the wrong Pokémon!"
To his loss line at the Pokemon League as Champion.
"NO! That can't be! You beat my best! After all that work to become League champ? My reign is over already? It's not fair!"
Lily's point about Blue before and why she liked him kind of contradicts her slagging off Silver...for the same shit Blue pulls but without the context that he's SUPPOSED to be wrong.
"Falkner's gym was kind of a pushover. yeah I nearly fainted but I didn't lose-"
You almost lost. ...To Falknier Lily.
Falkner...regarded as being one of the top 10 easiest Gym Leaders in Pokemon. ... How did you look at that and not go 'Damn, maybe I should change my strats.'
Like, this WILL undercut any points about Pokemon's gameplay and difficulty because it's coming from someone who nearly lost to FALKNER. A guy I beat at age 7.
"Team Rocket's so pathetic in Gen 2. In Gen 1, they were a legit criminal orgnazation and fun but now they're just pathetic."
And here's the problem that's likely gonna rear its ugly head in any Gen with half a story: Lily's not paying attention. Team Rocket is MEANT to be pathetic and lost without Giovanni. Because they are clinging to the past and refusing to move on with their lives even as the world does so. This gets hammered home pretty hard given the changes to the world introduced in Gen 2, like Lance becoming the Champion or through characters like Silver letting his daddy issues define him.
That's the point Lily. Complaining that they're boring because they've changed from before in order to fit a new story isn't analysis, it's just you mouthing off.
"Hey, isn't it funny that I tried using Mud-Slap twice in a row even though it didn't fucking work the first time and almost got wiped by Bugsy? I'm such a bimbo!"
Funny yes but more in a 'public humiliation' way. Joking about almost being beaten by a children's game does not make it better: you're still claiming to analyze these games.
"SILVER WORST RIVAL EVAR! BLUE GOOD BECAUSE FRIENDLY AND DYNAMIC! SILVER BAD BECAUSE ANNOTING! HE NO CHANGE UNLESS YOU LOOK! YOU LIKE EMOS!"
That or Silver is well liked because he was the first rival to have an actual arc in the games. It isn't optional either, Silver starts to realize he was wrong in his Victory Road fight, which is mandatory. And it's a logical progress from losing to the player and Lance, reinforced by the sage from Sprout Tower. As much as you bitch about the games' stories being invasive, Silver is an example of the game showcasing a natural progression in character without using a thousand words.
Meanwhile, Blue is the one slagging you off after every fight even as you have to beat him and then proceeding to throw a fit when he loses.
You don't pay attention Lily.
"Silber and Hop are fundamentally the same character!"
So...your point is that Silver is fundamentally the same...as one of the best rivals in the series?
Not the own you think it is.
I mean, she's correct since what Hop does in SWSH is just a more detailed, expressive and in depth version of what Silver does just more on the softer end. But Lily's too blinded to see it.
"Imma go ahead and ignore all the daily events in Goldenrod because WoW!"
Again, Lily telling on herself on how badly she's handling this video. The past 30 minutes could have been compressed down to 8 and nothing of value would be lost. Hell, cutting out Lily's reasonings and leaving people to insert their own explanations would actually make the video better.
Not a good sign.
"Johto's level curve isn't a problem! You can just go rematch trainers, it's intended! These games weren't meant for internet reviewers focused on progress, they're focused on kids!"
Yeah, Lily?
That bit about kids PROVES the issue with Johto, not debunk it. Because a kid might explore the rematches- it's far more likely that the kid is gonna want to keep moving forward and see new things and not back track for the sake of refighting the same guys with lowsy teams and just as little EXP as the wild Pokemon.
A kid is also gonna wanna catch new Pokemon and try them out-And the new Pokemon just got KO'd because it was so underleveled it's general stats aren't enough to face the trainers ahead. Now the kid is probably just gonna stick to the starter, one or two Route 1 Pokemon, the Red Gyrados (which is at least somewhat appropriately leveled) and the legendary. Oops.
I could also talk about how a good level curve in Pokemon aids in the feeling of growing stronger while providing something stimulating to the player to engage them in story, making each victory feel like a logical progression due to previous one but I doubt Lily would even understand what I'm talking about.
"Why do all the gyms in this game have some kind of side-quest?!"
Story and worldbuilding to make the core gameplay more interesting and engaging. It shows that the Gym Leaders are people who interact with their community. It's something to supplement the core gameplay you're supposedly focusing on.
"Oh shit! Chuck's Gym requires the Strength HM!"
Hey Lily, remember when you were complaining about people bitching on about HMs? You think maybe shit like this, creating unnecessary roadblocks that require restricting a player's self-expression and choice, might just factor into their complaints.
*Lily uses a Butterfree's Psychic on a Primeape, knocks off only 40% of the Pokemon's HP*
You know, Lily. If you made a habit of questioning yourself and your opinions- now would be the time where you would think back to the statement about 'Butterfree not being considered good because no STAB is stupid because coverage!' and admit there might be a point. You can still use Butterfree while admitting it's something of a handicap.
If you're observant, you will also notice that Lily's team is slightly below Chuck's in Level and that she wins her fight using battle items instead of, I dunno- engaging in those rematches she said negated the criticisms of Johto's level curve to train up her Pokemon.
"Ugh! The level curve in Johto is so awfu-"
Wait.
Lily. Didn't you DEFEND the level curve in Johto or at least try debunking this idea behind the game not having enough EXP earlier by talking about the rematches, talking about kids just rematching as they go back to explore unlike Youtubers? Which you are now admitting is 'extremely inelegant and forces you to wait' which...debunks your own view?
... This is a DIRECT contradiction of your stance from before. This is why you question yourself: you find contradictions in that self reflection.
"Johto's distribution of Pokemon suck! You can't even catch Houndour, Misdreavus and Larvitar until the post game! It's shitty because if you like these Pokemon, you can't catch them! It doesn't make them more valuable- just less fun!"
God damn it.
1-Lily, gating Pokemon out is not inherently a bad idea. Locking say...the pseudo-legendary into near the end of the game isn't a bad idea. That way you can't just power level one Pokemon into one of the strongest possible.
2-I do agree with Lily on this instance though. Johto locking away three of their new families of Pokemon behind KANTO is fucking insane. But issue here is that Lily just says they're locked behind the post game and just ends there, without giving context to why this is a problem. So- I'll do her job FOR her.
Let's start with the weakest one- Houndour. You catch this Pokemon at Route 7 (between Celadon and Saffron) in Kanto at Night. Seems like a good placement, since Houndour's type (Fire/Dark) counters the two nearby Gyms (Erika and Sabrina). Problem.
Houndour is caught at a max level of 18. Sabrina and Erika's teams average Level 48 and 44 respectively. There's no Trainers on this route either. Same with Murkrow btw.
Larvitar you catch at MT. SILVER (aka WHERE RED IS) at Level 20...at a 9% catch rate...right before Red. And Larvitar is a pseudo-legendary btw, so it levels up SLOWER than normal. Similar to Misdreavus, except it CAN'T evolve to get better.
And it's not like there aren't better options. Umbreon can be gotten as early as Level 21 by the fourth Gym Badge to cover Dark. Growlithe and Vulpix at Level 13 on ROute 36 as soon as Whitney to cover Fire. Geodude as early as ROCK CAVE for Rock. And Ghastly as soon as Sprout Tower. And many of these Pokemon are or become better than their counterparts so you have NO incentive to switch out Pokemon in your likely finalized team for newer, likely weaker Pokemon that you need to train up.
This summarizes the issue with Johto- the Pokemon MADE for Johto don't get to shine and the level curve makes adding new Pokemon pretty fucking shitty.
"Only pathetic shits think Shinies have any value!"
Lily, you are comparing locking off new Pokemon to a post game where they can't be effective to...an aesthetic change.
Move on. Also we get it with the capitalist dig- You want a social system that would have killed you off long ago.
"It's wrong to lock off Pokemon! See, this difficulty ROM Hack has so many!"
Yeah, DIFFICULTY ROM HACK Lily. As in, a hack of an already finished game that ends up tweaking certain aspects to increase difficulty likely for experience, adult Pokemon players. But for the ACTUAL Pokemon games- they have to be built for the new, casual or more relaxed fans as well.
Shoving a bunch of Pokemon into a single route, dropping multiple encounter rates down as low as 5% just to cram in as many Pokemon as possible is just gonna tire those poeple out as they search for every Pokemon possible. Even I, someone who likes Pokemon fan games, don't really like it when they try cramming 15 Pokemon into one Route just to accommodate them all because it feels like a slog trying to get one specific Pokemon I like that likely isn't even good enough to justify this. I would like all Pokemon catchable in a game (hence why I like the DLCs- they let you catch everything they add) but it would require so much effort to actually do that it's not feasible for Pokemon's release schedule.
Also all those Pokemon are available because it's balance out the difficulty with variety and the ability to EV train early. Most people still don't know how EVs, IVs and Natures work Lily. Most people wouldn't like this level of difficulty. Case and point: SMT has far less complexity and thus can be understood more easily yet it's difficulty, despite being easier to adjust to, is a turn off by itself.
"Pokemon games should give you all this variety so you can make unique and varied teams each game!"
Really Lily? You think having a bunch of Pokemon available at the start will allow you to use varied teams every game?
Because in practice, due to players valuing efficency- They will likely centralize around six extremely good Pokemon that synergize together to steam roll through the game. Limiting Pokemon helps CREATE variety by gate keeping strong Pokemon until the challenge matches up with them while you use weaker Pokemon as they were given a chance. It's probably why you like Butterfree so much: You used Butterfree as a kid and blowed through the early game with it and got attached. This likely wouldn't have happened if you had access to, say, Scyther instead.
Also, kind of funny you go off about making varied and unique teams when A. You started this rant talking about the cruelty of gatekeeping Pokemon so people who love them can't use them (thus forcing them to use different Pokemon) and B. we already know from your earlier Butterfree rant that you're gonna be using the EXACT SAME TEAM in each game.
Practice what you preach.
"People talk up the newer villains like Cyrus and N and the bigger plots but they suck!"
Lily. You couldn't even get Blue right.
Your opinion on the story means nothing.
"Mahagony Gym makes you take the path that faces you against the most Gym Trainers and that's bad! But the Gym is like an endurance test and that's good!"
So the gym making you fight trainers rapidly before facing the boss is bad...while also being good because it's an endurance test?
Proofread your scripts.
"Ice Cave is great because there's barely any trainers and there's little to no random encounters!"
Look I get that random encounters are annoying when you can't control them and Trainers can be tedious if you wish to get to your destination but...come on Lily. Battling is the main gameplay loop.
"I beat Silver and he doubles down-"
"…I couldn't win… I gave it everything I had… What you possess, and what I lack… I'm beginning to understand what that dragon master said to me…"
He doesn't.
And that ends Lily's view of Johto. Yes, she doesn't tackle Kanto or Red. Pretty sure she hates playing post games. Probably why she bashes Gen 5 so much.
Now for Gen 3. Which she calls the one with 'her favorite characters, best story and most beautiful locales in the series.'
... And I really hate Gen 3. Yay...

The Unfortunate implications in Pokemadhouse: The fuck even is Bonnie?
No, Lily, the pwecious babu will not be spared. Before I get ahead of myself, let me describe in literal terms what Bonnie literally is, a somehow perfect mixed clone of G and Lily... fuckin aight. I'll just ignore that by all rights that kid should have popped out saying "M-Moth-er Lil-lee..." because that is me being petty, and believe me barely scratches the surface of how bad it actually gets. As always, more under the cut.
So, elephant in the room, Lily never did consent to having Bonnie until after the machine doors opened. We going to talk about that? No? Okay... It is just fact that G bypassed Lily's personal autonomy to make a life altering choice for her for the second time now. Layer on that Lily was sad about giving away a baby Ralts and it all becomes extremely reckless and short sighted because rather than giving her a week to cool off, she hands her an actual human and Lord Help if it was just Baby Fever, because otherwise that kid is going to get neglected once she stops being wittle cwyptid baby.
Next, we have Lily with the law on her side... No. Just no. Parentage wouldn't mean shit, G sabotaged a machine that is made to bolster a critically endangered species. There shouldn't be any way they get out of that down nothing and up one gotcha and a baby. I know logic in pokemon means this could have costed nothing, but this comic injects real-world logic for cheap drama like you'd inject back alley botox into your wrinkles because having a doctor do it is so expensive, imma do some guesswork and math this shit. Firstly, I will assume that the machine uses stem cells and some very advanced tech to, in essence, 3D print an organism. Stem cell therapy is a thing. As far as Google tells me, the process costs 5000 to 50000 dollars depending on what it's treating. Now, I'll just assume that even the high-end treatment doesn't use a whole pound of cells, so for the purpose of easy math and only doing triple the amount of research Lily herself ever would we will just list a pound of stem cells as costing 100000 dollars. We'll also assume that this amazing nanotechnology that makes this possible takes about half of that per pound of organism. So we have a price, and Google tells me the weight of your average 3 year old is 30.7 pounds. So let's just open up my handy dandy calculator and....4.6 million dollars. Lily walked out the door with 4.6 million dollars of company assets while blowing a raspberry and flipping the bird... okay they traded more of G's blood for Bonnie but 4.6 million fuckin smackeroons! Once they had security footage, they should've had a team of lawyers going at her like a pack of hungry wolves for that is sabotage, and Lily as G's trainer would have to pony up. No wonder Dr.ponytail was so bitchy, likely almost got shitcanned from science at large before finding the footage.
As a very much more mercifully brief implication, look at this wiki cap.
Every time I look, it makes me laugh. Though in seriousness she had to adopt Bonnie in the end and child protective services either doesn't consider Bonnie a human child or are fuckin sleeping real damn hard to not catch this.
Finally, and least fortunate implication of them all... Bonnie will grow up, and unless Lily can single-handedly end the stigma around trainers banging pokemon, she will grow up in a world that either fetishizes or despises her. She will have to look back at her creation, being born of G wanting to give Lily a replacement baby, and try to feel anything other than contempt as she tries to live in a society that actively hates her for existing. The butt of every beastiality joke. The byproduct of pokephilia that nobody decent wants anything to do with. All by herself, sad, bitter, angry...
There's also the fact that she regularly causes property damage. Somebody needs to control their kid. Baking ram sticks and removing hours of dying work and saying it was bad, zero manners, be a parent, Lily...

I think I should send her to 1850s Kalos. I think it'd be funny
(ignore the hands, I was totally going for a stained glass look. Totally. /j)
(A better look at my Pokemon IRL/ZA brainrot beneath the cut)
OKAY SO UH I have this idea for Gill (A Pokemon IRL oc) and I'm frothing at the mouth about it so I'm going to infodump here! Because I am both normal about this and Legends ZA
So I had the idea that at some point, Gill would just straight up disappear for a week. He'd get sucked into some kind of time-rift and end up in ye-olde Kalos. He'd freak out, obviously, but after a couple weeks he'd come to accept his life and start getting into things. He'd basically become an 'important side-character'. Living life, helping around the city, meeting new Pokemon (Like VULPIX. He'd get a VULPIX for REASONS.) He's been taking some Kalosian classes at Blueberry, so he's all set there. He just has to apply himself.
And the thing about this? She likes it there. She likes it a lot. She doesn't have to worry about school, about expectations, about living up to her sister or impressing her friends. She's living in Lumiose City! She's helping rebuild the place! She's considered a strong Trainer! She's meeting people and Pokemon and she knows without a shadow of a doubt they like her. Of course, she still bawls her eyes out every night- she misses Blueberry, she misses Paldea, she misses her friends and family- but...well, she wouldn't hate it if she had to stay here.
Then like four-five months pass. Maybe this is all before the actual plot of ZA happens, so I can do this way earlier lol. Gill's helping restore Lumiose, as usual, and she's having a great time. She's becoming a well-known face in certain areas, too- Monsieur or Mademoiselle Monet, the young Pokemon wielder. Most everyone likes her.
And then he wakes up.
He's transported back home, somehow. And here, only a week has passed.
He has a Stats test to take. His ranking in the League Club has fallen back down to rock bottom. One moment, he was helping rebuild this beautiful city. He was someone important, doing something meaningful with his life. And the next, he was back to square one. All of his work was finished for him, centuries ago now.
He has to live with the fact that all of the people he grew to know in those four months are dead. He never got to say goodbye.
People will question where he picked up saying 'morbleu'. People might point out the faintest hint of an accent. But he doesn't have the heart to tell them anything, so he'll just lie.
I just have this distinct image of Gill going to Lumiose for like a school trip and seeing a building that she lived in two hundred years ago, now turned into some laundry mat or cafe or whatever. Maybe there's a wild Ninetales running around there, presumably waiting for their owner. And maybe she's able to find a floorboard she remembers removing with a friend to store trinkets and cash in it, and finding all that stuff coated in dust. And then she'd start crying, and because people expect that kind of stuff from her- getting sentimental about things that aren't even hers and breaking into tears-, they don't really question it, outside of a pat on the shoulder.
UUUUh that's it!! That's what I was thinking of. I think it'd be a fun character study! A look into Gill and how he views expectations and what he wants to do.
Will I do this? I dunno. Maybe after we get more Kalos info. Or I can just say fuck it we ball and do whatever I want forever. Or until someone tells me it's a bad idea. I just think it's cool and I wanted to do some pixel art.
I have major Kalos brainrot can you tell
#skrelp speaks#apollo's “art”#pokemon oc#pokemon#<- “properly” tagging this one since I'm a little proud of it#blog mention - paper pyroar

Hmmmmm, how about Barry? For the verse character thing.
barry! my very first rival! though i went with one of his other generic names and picked like. tyson for whatever reason. idk. 9 year old me was an enigma.
anyways that's to say, he has a special place in my heart the silly little kiddo
under a cut bc this, again, got super long
so to start with barry, we need to start with palmer. he and chryssas dad (henceforth referred to as cd since he doesn't have an actual name yet...) were both from twinleaf and dreamed of becoming great trainers.
and they did! palmer made it to the champion level, though being champion bored him so he quit after a bit. when plans to build a battle frontier in sinnoh popped up, he jumped at the chance to join.
cd eventually became a ranger which he was good at, but killed him in a freak accident. a lot of turbulent emotions for palmer--his best friend died the same week his son was born.
that's all relevant because it led to barry being childhood friends with chryssa and lucas whenever his dad was around... and then chased off by johanna whenever he was at the battle frontier.
cd's death shattered johanna and she partly blamed palmer. she'd never say that to his face, but she did kinda take it out on barry as a proxy.
as a result, barry had a weird time with his best friend (lucas). they could only spend time together at school or when johanna wasn't looking.
barry, despite his extroversion, was a very lonely kid. he couldn't see lucas that often and both of his parents worked busy schedules. palmer spent 5 days of the week at the battle frontier while his mom (who I should really also name) was a teacher who was constantly busy.
he had a lot of trouble making friends at school. he was a bit too extroverted yknow? tolerated at best as a class clown. lucas was basically the only person who actually liked him. (even chryssa basically tolerated him at best lol)
that left barry with a lot of time on his own. to most people's surprise, he actually spent a lot of that time studying! battling of course, not schoolwork. he studied video of his father or cynthia or whoever, went to the library to learn strategy, went by the high school to watch the older kids casually battle.
so, obviously, he couldnt wait to go on his journey! he just needed to wait for palmer to get him the perfect starter : )
...yea. he uh didnt. palmer knew barry wanted a pokemon but was also away from barry a lot. being home reminded him, but a lack of object permeance is mayhaps a family trait. barry ended up getting his starter from professor rowan.
which barry isn't bitter about at all! he's lying
barry really does love his daddy. he looks up to him as the coolest, greatest, awesomest person on the planet. the fact that palmer doesnt seem to be aware of how deep barry's admiration goes stings juuuust a tiny bit.
but he was on his journey now! and he had a rival in chryssa! (lucas was a boring nerd who worked under professor rowan)
....except chryssa avoided him. and turned down all of his offers to battle when he did find her. and the very few timea they did battle, she absolutely crushed him.
barry's journey was maybe a bit lonelier than expected.
but then he got a chance to study under crasher wake! ignore that wake didnt seem to want him around like everyone else! he was going to be as strong as his dad and this was going to help!
....if team galactic doesnt blow up sinnoh first. barry, despite a desire to help, doesn't get much done. he couldn't stop team galactic from blowing up the great marsh. he couldn't stop jupiter from taking uxie. he couldnt even make it to the peak of mt coronet in time to help there.
barry felt a bit useless and superfluous. he's strong, yea, but what's the point? he hasnt gotten his dads attention, he cant keep his friends, he cant make new ones, he cant help out.....
and uh. this is about where i am for barry. one of the things on my to do list for potential sinnoh fic is wrap up barry's plot line. have him talk to his dad, deal with his growing inferiority complex, all that. its one of those things i feel will be easier after actually writing it, alas, so I don't have much more to say.
but some other barry stuff!
adhd king as we all know
starts dating lucas as an adult. when they tell chryssa, she just kind of stares at them and says she thought theyd been dating for the past 5 years.
does make up with his dad and have a good conversation about everything. palmer never meant to make barry feel bad (and feels quite bad hinself for doing so on accident) and tries to make it up to him
eventually becomes a frontier brain? i have him as taking over from argenta but I'm not 100% married to that specific concept. i kinda want to see what others have for barry before definitively picking something
and that's barry! yay!

The first official chapter of "Radio Static" is now out!!
Chapter Summary: "Ingo disappears. Emmet has always been a man of fact. There is a terrible truth that he can't deny, no matter how much he wants to."
Chapter Word Count: 2,076
Links: ff.net | neocities
Also available to read below the cut:
The twin Subway Bosses of Nimbasa had always been close, as far as they could remember. This was common knowledge, and natural enough, considering they were twins.
Sometimes, though, it was... strange. Something beyond simple closeness. Like something that ran deeper than logic could explain, like something beyond familiarity connected them.
Most, though, never got close enough to find this out, or simply tried not to think too hard about it. It was better to just dismiss it as a side effect of being together so often for so long than drive themselves mad trying to come up with a proper explanation.
It made itself difficult to ignore, though, when Ingo disappeared.
All around the platform, heads had turned at the sound of a clipboard clattering to the floor. Emmet had looked as though he hadn't even noticed, preoccupied by something else entirely. His eyes were wide, his brows furrowed tight, and all the blood had drained from his face. He almost looked ready to pass out.
The agent that had come to ask him about the schedule tried in vain to get back his attention as he glanced about frantically, as if searching for something; no one could have guessed what. He scrubbed a hand down his face, like he had a headache coming on.
When he finally acknowledged Cloud, it wasn't to answer any of their questions, but rather, to ask one of his own.
“...Something is wrong. I am Emmet. Where is Ingo?“
Before they could even think to answer him through their perplexion, Cameron had jogged up to the pair, looking frazzled.
”There you are, Boss! I've been looking everywhere for-“ she began, then stopped, and looked around the platform, her brown curls swaying as her head turned. ”He's not with you, either?“ she asked.
It wasn't long before they realized that Ingo was nowhere to be found. His belongings and his pokeballs all laid in the tunnels, discarded, with no sign of where their owner had gone.
Cloud later realized that, in all of the panic and confusion, they never found out just how it was that Emmet had known.
-
It had been a remarkably slow day, seemingly dragging itself on towards nothing in particular. He had very few challengers make it to his car, and those that did seemingly did so on a fluke, not giving him much, if any, challenge at all.
The only remotely interesting thing to happen that day was when he and Ingo had gone into the tunnels to check for something strange an agent had allegedly seen on one of the security cameras. Emmet had had to leave, though, to wait at the platform before they had found out what it had been. He suspected that the answer wouldn’t be very interesting, anyway; probably just a Pokemon that had gotten separated from its trainer, or somesuch.
Other than that, though, nothing seemed to be very much out of the ordinary. Emmet wasn't sure whether this was a good thing or not. He was bone tired from the monotony of the day, but “interesting” seldom went with “good,” at least in their business.
He had, for once, wanted nothing more than to just end the day and go home. He and Ingo loved their jobs, so usually, neither of them much minded the long hours. That day, though, he couldn’t think about much other than having a nice, quiet evening home with his brother.
As he waited at the platform for the train to arrive, he thought of a loose plan for what they would do that night. They could make dinner together, and maybe sit on the couch and watch a movie before retiring for the night.
Just thinking about that made him aware of how his back ached. Ugh. He bent backwards, hands resting where his back curved, and heard several loud pops. As he straightened back up, he didn’t really feel much better. If Ingo were there, he’d have chastised him for it; he’d always hated that habit of his.
Emmet didn’t believe in bad days, so long as he had his brother with him. Every day is what you make of it, as Ingo would say. But today was really pushing it. He was hoping the last few hours, despite how tired he would still be, would make it so the day ended on a high note, at least.
Suddenly, Emmet froze, and felt the blood drain from his face.
Something was wrong. Something was missing.
He blinked, and tried to focus, but nothing changed. The constant, warm presence in his mind that he was used to was just… gone. It had been there, just a moment ago, and all at once, it was gone.
All of his fatigue had frozen solid into dread in a single instant.
He hardly had a single coherent thought as his ears began to ring louder, and everything seemed to stop all at once. His heart, his breathing, everything around him, and...
And...
Where was Ingo?
He couldn't hear him, he couldn't feel him, he couldn't...
He tried to reach through, or to just feel that he was there; pulled away, for some reason, but there. Something must be wrong, but they would work through it. He’d yell at Ingo for it, he’d sound angry, even though he was really just scared. He’d apologize, and Ingo would apologize, too, and then tell him what was wrong so he could help. Surely.
But he tried and tried, all to no avail. There was nothing.
Nothing at all.
Not even a wall keeping him out.
He looked around, knowing he'd see nothing, as Ingo hadn’t been anywhere near him before, but not knowing what else to do. His heart thundered painfully in his chest, and he felt his breathing come back, stuttering and quick. That chilly dread had now turned into a fiery panic, scorching his mind and burning under his skin.
Where was Ingo? Was he alright? What had happened?
Why couldn't he hear him?
Someone was calling for him, and had been for a while. His mind had filtered it with the rest of the noise around them, as his fear had stolen all of his awareness of his surroundings and turned it all into a blurred mass of stimuli he couldn’t process.
As their voice came back into focus, emerging from the haze everything had set itself into, so did everything else. The layers of chatter all around them, the rumbling of the trains in the distance, the blazing lights overhead, the fabric rubbing against his skin. He felt himself begin to sweat, despite how cold the station tended to be.
It had been fine only moments ago, but it all seemed to slam into him like a bullet train as he tried and failed to listen to what the agent was saying to him. He brought a hand to his face to stave off the headache as it came back with a vengeance, feeling like a shot straight through his brain.
Focus, focus, you just need to find him. You’ll find him, and he’ll be okay, and this can all go away.
Try as he might have, though, panic threatened to overtake him with every breath. Everything seemed to pass in a jumbled blur of sound and color.
He was fairly sure he had asked the agent where Ingo was, but hadn't gotten an answer. Another agent had come, also looking for his brother, seeming both exasperated and worried. His own worry had only gotten worse, with that.
All around the station, everything came to halt. A search began, yielding no results. The only thing they had managed to find had been Ingo's belt, without any other sign of him anywhere, or where he might have gone. Emmet’s stomach had felt as though it was filled with cement, when the news made its way to him.
Everything was completely off-track, in every sense. A great number of passengers were delayed, or had to find another way to travel entirely. Normally, Emmet would be appalled at this, would focus all of his energy on solving the problem and ensuring it never happened again. But it was the least of his worries at the time.
He sat with his head in his hands, the odd silence of the barren station around him somehow worse than all of the noise from before. He felt awful not doing anything, but there wasn’t much more that could be done, not by him at least. His agents had insisted he take a break, saying he didn’t look well. He’d never been more grateful for them and how hard they all worked than he was that day, but it still frustrated him.
He knew, though, that he couldn’t be much help in the state he was in. He did his best to calm down, but his stress and his worry kept mounting up, paralyzing him, making him feel sicker and sicker.
With every minute more that they couldn't find him, the grim reality came into sharper and sharper focus.
Ingo had vanished.
Generally, Emmet was able to keep an even head in stressful situations. It was what made him and Ingo such a great team. Ingo would identify the problem, what needed to be fixed, what they had to get done, and would make sure they didn’t get off track. Emmet would think about the facts, about what he could do, and find a way to solve the problem, step by step.
He feared, though, that this was a problem that he couldn't solve. His eyes burned, and nausea swirled in his gut and made itself at home.
But, for the sake of routine, he would follow his usual tracks. Maybe, at the least, it would help him calm down, and think about the situation more objectively.
What were the facts?
First and foremost, Ingo was gone. Vanished into thin air.
Secondly, there wasn't the slightest hint of where he could have gone. No blood, no damage to the area, nothing helpful on the security cameras. Nothing.
Thirdly, whatever had happened, it had been instantaneous. One moment, Ingo had been there, doing his job, and lingering in the back of Emmet's mind like always. The next, he had simply been gone, as though he had never been there in the first place.
The thought made his nausea sharply worsen, and he really thought for a moment that he’d be sick all over the floor.
While they searched, Emmet felt that it was of no use. They thought that if they kept looking, they’d find something. But he already knew that wasn’t going to happen.
And he did appreciate it. He appreciated that so many people cared about his brother. He appreciated that they all wanted him to come home safe. He appreciated all of their help. He really did.
But they didn't have all of the facts. They didn't know what he knew.
While Ingo and Emmet may have looked nearly identical on the outside, they were very different on the inside.
Ingo was always idealistic. He always saw the good in people, and the light in even the darkest of situations. He believed that, even if it turns out to be wrong, hoping for the best scenario can help you get through even the darkest of times.
Emmet believed in the truth, in fact. He believed that, while every alternative was worth exploring, the most likely outcome usually wasn't the one you wanted. No matter how much he didn't want it to be true, it was better to think of the worst outcome as the one you would get.
After all, disappointment hurts less when you're expecting it.
Ingo was gone. Emmet was certain that he was not coming back.
He didn't want it to be true. He wanted so badly to hope with everyone else, to be able to search and believe that he'd find anything.
But he had felt it. Ingo had gone in less than a second. There was no shock, no pain, no nothing.
He was at least comforted by the idea that it had been quick. Whoever or whatever had taken his brother from him was at least a bit merciful.
So, while everyone else prayed for Ingo's return, while they told Emmet not to give up hope and assured him that his brother would come home eventually, he knew the truth.
Ingo was dead.

Work in progress
so I figure I'd post a little work in progress here since this chapter has had a rough start.
also, I wanted to post a little fluffy moment with Lampent, cause it's been a hot minute. might do more of these, depending on how I feel.
warning this has not been proofread yet so there are probably a few mistakes.
-
Lampent hovered close to her trainer as he slept, her eyes closed as she ignored the world around her and focused solely on her partner.
His breathing
His Heart beat
And his soul
That was all she needed, to know he was going to be okay.
Lampent was honestly surprised that she had not been kicked out. Had this been Unova, they would have recalled her back into her Pokeball and given it to Drayden, and she would not have seen her trainer until after he was better.
In fact, she had been shocked when Calaba had ejected a group of humans what had tried to remove her, claiming she was ‘one of Almighty Sinnoh’s creations and deserved to be with her partner as much as Calaba’s Bibarel deserved to be with her.’ a kind sentiment that Lampent appreciated, even if the old woman still kept a close untrusting eye on her.
She had escaped her Pokeball the moment she’d been able to, distressed to find that her trainer and his family had been harmed and she had been unable to help. And Since, had refused to leave him, only moving aside so that the old human Calaba could tend to him.
Ingo had been hit in the head rather head during the Avalanche, and had been left with a minor fractures in his skull and knee and a concussion good measure.
Lampent had to admit she had panicked a bit when she first escaped her Pokeball and saw
Trainer looking like he had just lost a fight with a Mow rotom.
But now that the blood had been cleaned off and bandages had been applied, he was looking much more lively. Even if he was sleeping a lot.
She drifted closer to him, resting an arm on his head as gently as she could. He would be fine, she would make sure of it, even if she forced herself to learn Pain split to do it.
Behind her she could hear Eelektrik’s Pokeball rattling on the floor next to his trainer. The eel pokemon clearly trying to break free.
Poor Eelektrik, he never did get the hang of opening his Pokeball from the inside. As much as she disliked Zoroark for being a jerk to his trainer, the two often teased Eelektrik on his inability to exit his Pokeball on his own. Chalking it up to his lack of arms.
Normally she would have let him out by now, but she figure she’d let him struggle for a little bit longer. Besides she wanted to see the look on his face when she told him Emmet het been curled up with another Pokemon. Even if it was just a Bergmite given to him to help with thepain and swelling in his shoulder.
Though she was honestly surprised that she’d been allow to stay and yet Eelektrik had not been let out. Then again, it might have been because she was already out, and they didn’t want to risk releasing some of the bigger Pokemon the twins had caught during their time.
She had heard the Palina human warning the others about Gyarados, and Lampent had to agree with that. If she had panicked over Ingo when she had first seen him, she did not want to see how the quick tempered motherly water-type would have reacted.
Or maybe the humans of the Pearl clan were a lot like Eelektrik and just didn’t know how to the Pokeball.
The world may never know.
Once more Lampent shut her eyes once more, feeling that urge to sifin off some of the life energy from the occupants within the room, and pushed it back down. The urge successfully squashed, she flew over to Ingo’s satchel and opened it, removing one of the treats she knew Ingo in there and consuming it, before returning to her trainer’s side.
Ever since the battle with the Abomasnow, and her cowardly attempt to runaway, Lampent had been trainig in secert when her Trainer was sleeping or otherwise distracted. All under the direction and watchful eye of both Lady Sneasler and Gliscor.
The two older pokemon instructing her on the best way to push herself. How to use less energy with her attacks and how to best suppress the natural urges that would hurt her partner.
And it was working.
Day by day her attacks were hitting harder without the need to repleshise herself constantly, and Ingo was no longer dragging his feet after an hour of spending time with her.
Sure after her little training sessions, she was normally tired but it was nothing that one of the Warden’s muffins couldn’t take care of.
It was worth it just to be able to coexist with her trainer for more then a hour.
Sure, the longer she spent with him the more of a test it was to keep herself in. but for him she was willing to step up to the challenge.
If the story Ingo’s dad had told her was correct, then the man had once had a Chandelure for a partner and they had been able to make it work. If Warden Ingo was able to become so close with his partner he was able to remember them even with his amnesia, then she could do the same for her trainer.
His breathing
His heart beat
And His Soul
That was all she needed to know that he was going to be okay.
And even if things started to look dark for him, she would be his guiding light.

-- RP: @pkmn-spira
pkmn-spira:
Interesting... Truly interesting! The mere fact that they can read each other on what they'd eventually do next was a great indicator of mutual trust. Of something they have already done before. A dance that these two had participated together time and time again. It certainly reminded her of certain twins she know of. Or hell, even the current Champion of Spira alongside Argentum City's current Gym Leader. A combination attack, it'd seem, turning Sparkling Aria into a full fledged beam instead of just an orb of condensed water. Now, even if that was a thing in Spira, Morgan appreciates the novelty, as only those who think outside of the box do tend to come up with this. The attack struck true, the SYM Asset made only for excavation purposes taking the full brunt of that strike, the weight of the combined attacks forcing the rest of its body, which resembled that of a large worm's, off the ground, all while it squirmed around. Filter was good to help it survive, yes. But at the same time it also prolonged its suffering. SYM Assets are powerful, yes. But SYM-01 is not really meant for battle, see, and while it can hold its own on most Trainers, Champion level Trainers are too much for it. Though, this combat data would... prove hefty useful for the improvement of the remaining SYM Assets.
"I can feel it... Its thirteenth hour is here." Morgan stated. "Asrai. You can Play Rough, now." Hence, the Azumarill would be adorned with an elated expression, almost as if it wanted to let loose for once, its body now imbued with the ever present energies in Fae Deepwoods, thus further strengthening Play Rough. As it charged right to the SYM Asset, it would also boost itself further, via Aqua Jet. Upon crashing down onto SYM-01, it began to unleash a flurry of no-holds barred strikes. A beatdown that can be easily audibly heard, too. "That should do it." Morgan said, turning around as she faced and approached the husband and wife.
"You didn't tell me that your husband was quite the big shot, Ashe." Morgan spoke as her Azumarill still was beating up the now motionless body of the SYM Asset. Not that its ignoring what Morgan said of that being enough to do SYM-01 in, but rather Morgan's letting it have its fun. Pokémon from Cryptid Isle tend to have... certain tendencies, after all.
Moves were exchanged and as it finally came to an end, Ashe and Leon were pulled from their reverie of the battle, but their synergy remained. Recalling their pokemon, Ashe hurried to her husband who accepted her fully into his embrace, holding her tight. "Sorry i'm late, love." "It's alright. You're alive and not lost, that's what matters." Something is said in Fae before they pull apart, touching foreheads for a moment. Her hand lingering in his, Ashe waits a moment to respond to Morgan as Lucky brings down each barrier and Kumiko approaches with Willow, the girl immediately shifting into her father's arms while Ashe finally addresses their, well, savior at this point for reuniting the family.
"Normally I don't tell people." Ashe admits. "Where we're from, it would cause people to be all over my family's home let alone his. It's better to live in secret." That being said, Leon took a moment to thank the woman himself; "I take it you found them? Thank you for doing so." Shifting his daughter, the girl who looked so much like Leon minus her eyes who mirrored her mother's finally looked Morgan in the eye. She didn't like this woman for some reason and she didn't know why. It was rude to stare her parents told her and let alone not give a person a chance, but her small features should have been able to tell Morgan she didn't trust her, let alone like her.
Something was off even if Willow didn't understand why.
"... So this is the Spira region." Ashe cut in. "From what I can tell, according to the Elite Four, Morgan, here, it seems to be cut off from any known open region." She folds her arms then. "There's dense fae energy here but I... honestly don't think we're in our own timeline, babe." Ashe admits with a sigh. Leon can only smile sheepishly. "Which means we're the prank of yet another time distortion, or a Hoopa."
"Honestly, should we be surprised?" Ashe had a deadpanned expression in answering her husband, now turning to Morgan. "I may be able to find us a way home, but I admit I am curious about this region... with your permission as an Elite Four, could we possibly shadow you to see more of this place?" She noted Willow's unbending stare as Lucky came to stand between Ashe and Leon. "... I'd like my daughter to experience new things, but from seeing this giant specimen here... it's better to move in groups... perhaps."

CASE 01 [Blue Oak]
Current age: 20
Age of occurence: Unspecified age, around 8-9
Date of occurence: February 27 XXXX
Condition type: Mushrooms/Trees/Flowers
Condition: Oak, Willow, Anemones
Ongoing: Yes/No
No pictures had been submitted.
Background
Blue Oak was born in Pallet Town, Kanto. Most people he knows describe him as cocky, snarky, determined, and competitive, especially to his rival and friend. He currently lives with his older sister Daisy Oak in Pallet Town, near his grandfather, the well-known Professor Oak.
Path To Recovery
As much as the patient would like to keep whatever caused this a secret, he can't deny that his story has been well-known enough that there wouldn't be any point to leave out any details.
He states that this condition seemed to begin long before his well-known journey had begun. It's come to his attention that plenty of fans have been making their own theories about his journey, and he reluctantly confirms most of them to be true. From the moment he was born, he always seemed to grow in Red Phyre Sugimori's shadow. Despite his efforts and achievements, almost everyone around him seemed to prefer Red, who grew up with him, over Blue himself. Even his own sister, who he was pretty close to. He explained:
"I'm not sure when exactly it happened, but I just remember feeling my back hurt. Like, upper back. I thought nothing of it, just thought it was some back pain, but then more weeks passed and it just felt.. How am I supposed to explain painful, yet numb.. but like, normal at the same time-? Look, I genuinely don't know how to describe it."
He mentioned he had told Daisy about it, yet didn't get any results when they went to the doctor. He then ignored it. In the span of a year or two, his journey with Red, and eventually Leaf, had begun. Before he made his departure from Pallet, he suddenly saw some sort of sprout growing from his back when he looked at the mirror. He panicked and told his grandfather about it, yet his grandpa just brushed it off as one of his grandson's jokes, even when he insists it isn't. When he told Daisy, she told him there was nothing there, even touching his back to prove that there was no sprout or any kind of unusual lump. He decided to drop the subject.
The more time he spent on his journey, the more the sprout had grown upwards. Although, no one seemed to ever notice, even if it seemed like a bonsai had grown on top of his head. Finding out that nobody was able to see it and they wouldn't believe what he said, he just didn't try to ask for help anymore. What made him panic more was the fact that some flowers seemed to start growing on his head too. He mentioned he usually styles his spiky hairstyle a certain way so that he himself doesn't have to see them, although he usually tries to not look at himself in any reflective surface. These plants seemed to have a sudden growing speed at certain moments of his life.
Firstly was the death of his Raticate. He and Red had taken a break from their journey because of it, and it caused some sort of rift between their somewhat friendly-rivalry. The first tree seemed to have grown, along with another sprout that had started from his shoulder, which had grown rapidly during his break.
The next was losing to Red. The growth of the flowers and the first tree seemed to increase, somehow to the point he couldn't even hide them in his hair anymore. He had become the Champion of Kanto back when he was 10. Despite being the first trainer to receive this title at such a young age, he lost that title to his rival, Red, in the span of an hour. He explains that that moment had basically crushed him, and the fact that his grandfather showed up, only to say that he was disappointed and that he lost because he hadn't treated his Pokemon with trust and love, even though he already had, seemed to only crush him even more.
Due to the media seemingly not believing someone from the great Oak line would lose so quickly, he didn't show his face to the public as often as he usually did out of fear and embarrassment. That was until he got his position as Viridian City's gym leader.
Another one was the Mount Silver and disappearance incident. Blue had mentioned that, regretfully, he basically blew up at Red and Leaf when all they tried to do was check on how he was doing. In a few days, Red and Leaf had suddenly disappeared. He couldn't shake off the feeling that he was the reason why they had disappeared without warning. During this period, the second tree on his shoulder started to grow much faster than the other plants. This speed of growth then seemed to happen to the flowers and the first tree when he had started the first few days as the replacement for Viridian City's gym. This went on for another 4 years, until the three had been reunited.
At this point, the trees were getting bigger and the flowers had pretty much covered the top of his head. He explained that during that four year period and even after it, it was getting tough and tiring to do literally anything, even though he still felt like he could move freely. The pain was excruciating, yet somehow numb at the same time. He said that he has tried to cut off the flowers, since they were easier to dispose of than an actual tree, but they just seemed to appear back as if they were never cut. He then reluctantly admitted that when it got too overwhelming, he would [THIS SECTION HAS BEEN REDACTED DUE TO VIOLATION OF POLICY]. When asked, he mentioned that it wasn't the plants that usually overwhelmed him, it was everything and almost anybody around him.
One day, Red and Leaf seemed to have passed by and caught him crying in his gym when it was empty. He played it off like it was nothing [even desperately joking that he was possessed by a Gastly], but as the two insisted on him to tell them what had been wrong and bothering him, he broke down as they tried their best to comfort him. He hadn't told them anything yet, but made them promise that they wouldn't tell anyone about this. After a while, they all made sure to go back to Pallet Town together. The next few days, Red and Leaf visited Blue more, mostly just to try and keep him company. Blue, although preferring to stay alone during those moments, appreciates their efforts. After a few more months, he finally told them about some things that had been bothering him, yet made sure to stay vague in some specific parts. Red and Leaf didn't push at all and made sure to, once again, be there for him and comfort him to the best of their abilities.
In the next few months, he made more progress in his recovery. Eventually, he told his family members about everything that has been bothering him since he was young. First to Daisy, then to Professor Oak. It took a lot of effort and courage to do so, but he says that in a way, it all paid off. He says that it felt incredibly relieving to get it all out of his chest. His relationship with his family members got better, with Professor Oak being much more understanding towards his grandson. During this, he had mentioned that the plants felt like they were getting lighter and lighter. Eventually, the trees on his back and shoulder seemed to have withered and fallen off on his own, while the flowers atop his head had started to wither too. He claims that the only remains of the trees were just stumps awkwardly placed there. In a few more days, they seemed to have stopped growing, although some of their remains seem to stay on his body.

You are seven, and this is a dream.
And you remember seven, because seven hurt a lot for plenty of reasons, so you, a thirty year old, have had this nightmare before many times.
It was always washed out and dulled in these dreams, because half of it is your head catastrophizing the worst possible outcomes. You'd do something wrong in these dreams.
You'd break something, you'd underperform, you'd do something mundane and average when the expectation was to perform and keep peforming. Don't stop performing even if you're seven and a lot of your world was ripped out from under you. In this dream, you're with your grandfather, and you've done something wrong.
To his credit, Oak never raised his voice at you for no reason, but you dream and you remember the littlest raise of the voice as a yell and he yells at you for the simple fact that you have nothing that you have done that you can be proud of.
You only ever wanted to impress him. You wanted to be like him. He's so disappointed in you.
You're a failure, a bully, not a trainer and certainly not worthy of any titles.
And the nightmare continues, your own perfectionist violence against yourself wheeling back around and stabbing you in the back as deep as your grandfather's disappointment.
You used to think he avoided you entirely for this reason. Maybe that's why…
You can't wake up.
It's been a while since he's had these kinds of dreams, it shouldn't affect him as much as it does. But it's always the same outcome, this time he was inside the building where the old man worked and spent his life. Never felt like he could do anything to ever get him to leave. There was almost a glass wall between them...
Caught the biggest fish? Didn’t matter, made him a gift? leave it on the desk, JUST second place at the pokemon trivia behind Leaf? Why did he even try? But THIS. Of course. Once it was one of his things it was personal.
All eyes on him.
Typical.
I lost my temper today...
Shattered glass on the floor of his sisters gift she gave him on fathers day, a vase with wild flowers now scattered everywhere but he didn’t care…Oak couldn’t stop for ten minutes to look at him. So he should of known it would happen since he's so smart… If he just stopped ignoring Blue, he wouldn't have to do these kind of things.
Is his fault.
Wish he's acknowledge that...Stubborn old bastard...
I just wanted to show him something I made...
He was over this. So over it but he couldn't move. Refusing to even look until it was over. This memory was whirling in his head but…Something was wrong…
The yelling was growing louder, thunderous, it started to pierce into him more than it ever did before. This wasn't his usual spill. Grampa was noting things that he hasn’t even done at this age…They were starting to get personal; they were attacking his own self-worth.
This memory was skewed, it was starting to feel like he was in danger. He wanted to run home, run somewhere safe but Blue felt likes his shoes were bolted to the floor, his grandfather was moving closer to him it made him uneasy... His eyes moved away to look at anyone but his grandfather seeing the lab assistance looking at him too.
Judging him.
They didn't think he's worthy of being his grandson either... He didn't even have to assume, they were whispering so damn loud...
The chattering started to get louder and louder, it was unbearable, he couldn't hear himself think. Worthless? Stupid? Annoying? A bully? Selfish? A cheater? Undeserving? His Dad was better? His hands clamped against his ears.
It just keeps going! Enough!
I'm trying to talk but the words won't come out I just want it all to stop. Why won't it stop?! Just shut up and I don't care about this! Leave me alone!
There was talk about his dad comparing to him, to Oak to his other families, how he needs to step up how he needs to stop being this dense.
Stop wasting everyone time.
Shut up!
Failure isn't an option.
SHUT UP
Just give up.
I SAID SHUT UP!!!
..
..
..
Echoing loudly through his dreams his eyes snapped open staring up at the ceiling. He was in his room staring down at his blankets. Blue felt his body was filled with adrenaline; he hasn’t had a dream like that in a while…But were they always so intense?...
Before he could think anymore about it his phone vibrated on his nightstand, picking it up to see Rika texting him.
Seems like he’s not the only one having a bad night.

Since Hilbert thinks his twin was a stillborn, does that ever affect him growing up? Like it's a touchy subject and what ifs
Even after Sawyer, they don't have a way to definitely prove that they're related, but imagine it's one of those "$25 blood test kits! See your ancestry!" they did as a joke to fill in a sleepover and BAM
Pokemon center has a Hilbert in the corner, going through all stages of grief at once, Cheren's trying to ignore the situation by talking awkwardly to his pokemon, Bianca was asleep, so she wakes up and why is Hilbert crying?
hvjrkhjbkb SO LIKE, there's an added layer to all of this on Touya/Hilbert's end, because despite everything, he always FELT like someone should be there. and it's a bit of a touchy subject because he never found out through his parents, but through a third party source that was being too damn intrusive for their own good.
Which is never a good thing, when you bring up the fact that he is SUPPOSED to be a twin, but what the actual FUCK. Now he KNOWS about it and has to deal with the, "who should be here with me?"
And it BOTHERS him. Especially whenever he comes across other twins. And he's like, on playdates with Cheren and Bianca, but he's still just "what if they were here?" and it just REFUSES to leave his mind. And sometimes, he just thinks, "Why me?"
This is brought to you by what I ended up doing to the BW player characters regarding their family ties, with Alder being their Dad (which will forever stay a constant because lmaooo).
Often, for his safety, the identity of his dad is kept a secret (if you know, you know), but that doesn't stop some people from calling him a bastard child, even THOUGH HIS DAD IS FINE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. He's just kinda aimless, given the fact that one of the two children he had was a stillborn, and then one of his Pokemon died to an illness?????
LIKE CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT THAT DOES TO A PERSON??? So he just often wanders aimlessly, usually visiting during holidays, birthdays, or whenever he's in the area (surprisingly, a lot more often than you'd think, since his feet usually take him home when he's not at the League). He's a good dad otherwise....
...
Oh right - Benga. So here's the thing.... Let me go on a weird, long-ass tangent that is AAAALL related to this. I swear, it's relevant, it's just gonna be massive, so I'mma put a read more
fun fact: I had the "Alder is the Player Character's Dad" thing in my fanfic done BEFORE BW2 was released (meaning there was a gap of time after BW released both in Japan, and later, outside of Japan), and if you know how things were before X and Y, this means we HAD to wait after BW2 released in Japan before we got translations, so patches existed for roms (that is how I VERY much played Black and White first, by the way, it was the first Pokemon game I followed since its release in Japan) to hold us through until the official English localization released.
Originally, I had this elaborate situation because I legitimately thought Benga was Alder's son (before I later found out that, nope, grandson - again, translation to localization situation, it wasn't as convenient as it is now), where Benga was just from a previous fling that his Mama kept from Alder, until oops, "hey, I know I was kinda a dick before for ghosting you all of these years, but I'm dying...can you take him in?"
Now, I'm just looking at that, going, "you know what, Mama can fucking get it, being a Trainer who went on her own journey." She knows what she wants, and if landing the Unovan Champion as a husband is a feasible goal for her, then of course she'd go after it.
I like to think Mama was built different and had her own elaborate journey, where she spent at least ten years on her journey, just traveling around, dealing with whatever news she heard coming from overseas regions about criminal organizations, just absentmindedly collecting badges like "I should do that while I'm here" and then forgetting about everything else, like she's in an open world environment (like it's Scarlet and Violet, where I just went around, getting distracted by everything or in the case of my friends, going around catching everything on sight and also getting into areas they LIKELY shouldn't be in).
Truly an example of "We shouldn't have let ten year olds go on their own in this dangerous region" because by the time Touya/Hilbert is able to go on his journey, he's 14 - because that's the actual age limit (if you wish to go alone on a journey), added in to lower the trainer mortality rate (and region-wide concerns). Because LISTEN, there be Hydreigon in the wild and other mons that are capable of being hostile.
Anyways Mama was like 20 before she even caught wind of the Champion. Dude's only had the title for maybe a few years now - hard to say, since she was lowkey off the grid, because she was too busy catching Pokemon to help out her father and older sister with the Pokedex. Just field research to add more consistent variables to their data.
Like again, she was super casual on the Gym Badge side of being a Trainer - she just did her own thing before realizing, "I should try the League." and got the rest of her badges at the side. I mean it helps that she FINALLY ran into Alder. The stars fucking aligned, because Mama went "AWOOGA" and just her luck, Alder was single.
Anyways it took her like six years to get that ring on her finger, because Alder really was, "dude, there are better men out there - WHY ME" But nah, Mama picked him and wouldn't stop challenging him. She never really beat him in an official League battle, but she still did kick his ass every so often. Which, in the Pokemon World, is like a good way to appear attractive to others. :V
Where Benga comes into play, it's called Alder was a reckless older teenager that got into flings, like all teenagers tend to do. And being Pokemon Trainers adds another layer of recklessness. So you got two seventeen year olds just doing stuff like having one night flings that don't go anywhere...
Except oops, there's a baby, but whatever, orphanage time. Buh bye - there's no child support to collect from some rando one night stand, so PEACE. And then she left for an overseas region, never to be heard from again.
Seventeen years later, history repeats itself - only this time, the Baby Mama doesn't exactly make it through the birth like her bio mama, so now Alder is just being called up to collect his grandson - because SURPRISE, you're not only a father, but also, a GRANDFATHER. And by this point, the Champion Title makes it difficult to just keep this kid in an orphanage, so uhhh...take him. "You're like the closest living relative we can track down"
Anyways you know how Alder said there are better men? Yeah, he's like 34, with a grandchild to raise. And thankfully, he's pretty good at what he does - but STILL...A GRANDFATHER - why the hell does this lady want to go after him, when he has a grandson???
Anyways two years later, after one wedding and pair of rings, Benga is excited at the concept of being an older brother of sorts (really, he is an older nephew - AGAIN, it's complicated). And while things go south for one of the twins, he still does have Touya/Hilbert and they're raised together, even if Benga is a bit more feral due to Alder's influence.
All this mess, just to say that there's a lot going on with Touya/Hilbert - him thinking he was the surviving twin is just the proverbial cherry on top, given how much of a soap opera his life has become.
Really, him finding out about Sawyer is gonna blow his mind, but also make him all the more protective, after all the bullshit he's gone through. Genuinely just sobbing his eyes out, having a near melt down, maybe also even punching out Team Plasma too (physically with his fists) because WHAT DID THEY DO TO HIS SISTER. JUST LOOK AT HER.
She absolutely MELTED when she received a hug. The way she got emotional over a BIRTHDAY surprise. THE TRAUMA.
What's more, in that likely scenario, he can't just SAY that to her, like...without preparation. And while it was mostly a joke, because "lmao, we look alike, let's see if we're related in some way" before the truth is revealed.
And now Touya/Hilbert has this massive truth bomb to ease Sawyer into. LIKE
Being Touya/Hilbert is suffering.
#ask#pokemon#pokemon black and white#touya#hilbert#sawyer (oc)#alder#with friends like these (fanfic)#TEN YEARS Y'ALL#TEN FUCKING YEARS#things might have changed#but it seems that I still have a sort of soft spot to whatever mess of complications i decided to slap onto the BW player characters#feel free to ask me about sawyer#this is a mess lmaooo#BUT IT'S MY MESS

[The Following Offscreen- In character event takes place at 11:00PM
Previous Part found here - Collaboration with @ladyzee-oddityhunter
CW- Gore, Broken Limbs, Blood, Drowning mention, Pokemon abuse
A Noivern and A Pelipper make their way out over Hoenn's wilds. It's late. Late enough that Simon is CERTAIN that nobody should know he is flying alone. Well, mostly alone. He does have Benjie, Lady Zee's belligerent and sometimes rather unfriendly Noivern with him.
But tonight, Benjie isn't hissing or spitting at him. In fact, the pokemon seemed to have come to him for help. It looked stressed, its eyes dull with exhaustion, even as it soars ahead of them. It glances back at him every so often, both to ensure he is still following, and to regard him with an ever growing hint of disdain in its bright yellow eyes.
As they arrive at the lake the Noivern's apprehension seems to grow. They approach from what appears to be a clearing. A small grove with a lake at the center, trees framing its sides, interrupted only by a narrow walking path.
And Zee is there.
She stands by the edge of the lake, looking almost like a wraith that had risen from the water herself. Her jumpsuit was waterlogged, torn and soaking wet, and her bright pink hair, usually carefully curled, was hanging in sopping wet knots around her shoulders.
She acknowledges neither Simon nor her own Noivern as they approach, instead remaining hunched above a small bird like pokemon before her. It takes him an extra moment to realize its another one of HER pokemon. Carmelita, the Oricorio.
The small purple bird looks positively frightened as she stares down at it, not like a trainer greeting her Pokemon. But like a predator assessing its prey.
At last she speaks in a voice that sounds uncharacteristically venomous, echoing with an aching kind of fury.
"Last chance, you little BITCH," she snarls as she takes a heavy step forward "Move it!"
The small bird chirps, and shifts nervously. It seems to be in far worse shape than either Zee OR Benjie, feathers matted in spots, and pulled out in others. It is quivering, but it has not moved out of the way.
It takes Simon a few moments to get his bearings as he lands. He staggers, trying to ignore how much the darkened forest reminds him of...
There isn't time for that. He makes an advance towards Zee, squinting through the dark to try and make out her features in the moonlight.
"Zee?" he calls, "Zee what are you doing out here? Are you alright?"
He realizes first that Zee's eyes have turned a deep, pale grey, and her normally immaculate make up now runs in deep black streaks down her face, along her next. A mist of deep purple swirls around her, seeping from her mouth, her hears, her nose.
Her head whips towards him when she hears him call, and her pale eyes seem to go wide for a moment, before her scowl once again deepens.
"One of you..."
She steps towards him, a jerking awkward movement, as if done on legs barely holding together. Her body twitches and lurches like a marionette with broken joints, head lolling, arms twitching. It's clear at least two of her fingers are broken as she extends a hand towards him. Blood stains her teeth as she grins.
The small Oricorio bristles as she approaches. It pulls back its tiny head, and launches forward, headbutting Zee in the stomach hard enough to to send her staggering to her knees. She coughs up a mouthful of water, her battered body quaking both with pain and rage.
"I'm going… To k-kill you. I-I'm GOING to KILL YOU!"
She staggers to her feet once again, glaring directly at Simon
"ALL OF YOU!!"
