Fracture Me by Tahereh Mafi My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I came into this novella aware of its reputation for ruining people's view of Adam. And while I am Team Warner, that doesn't change the fact that I still love Adam. After reading his novella, I do see why people might have changed their views on Adam, but, to me, he's still a good guy. In this novella, he admits that he still loves Juliette, but it's become difficult for him to be there for both her and his little brother James who literally almost died. And he has every reason to feel this way as Juliette has been pushing him away (because she loves him so much that she doesn't want to hurt him). However, at the end of the day, Juliette craves physical affection, and Adam does as well. And this is really the main reason why they can't be together. The chances of Juliette hurting Adam again are high because of how much they crave each other's touch. Now, this is why Juliette starts to drift more towards Warner because he CAN touch her without any issues. I really liked this novella because it shows what it is really like to grow apart from someone. It didn't feel forced at all. It felt natural and logical. Now, from what I heard about this novella, I was worried Tahereh Mafi was going to make Adam do something out of character to justify Adam distancing himself from Juliette. But I should have had more faith in her because Adam had every right to change how he felt about Juliette. Being around her had put his little brother James in danger one too many times, and he can't keep putting him at risk like that, not even for the girl he's in love with. Juliette has become a burden to him that he's just not equipped to handle. They might have thought that they were made for each other before, but now that's clearly not the case. Why should he give his time and energy to a girl who it obviously wasn't going to work out with? And if I'm being frank, Adam is by far the most sane character in The Shatter Me series which makes this book kinda funny to read because he keeps having to put up with every other character's dumb decisions in a literal WAR.

Will I be reading book 3 “Ignite Me” ?: Heck yes! I heard it was the best book in the whole series, and I’m so ready for some Juliette and Warner enemies-to-lovers tension! View all my reviews

Book Reviews-Shatter Me Series

 Hi everyone! I was thinking about starting a new series where I rate/review book or series. I wanted to start with a series I just finished-The Shatter me series. 

This is a series about a girl (Juliette) who has a fatal touch. She is locked away in an asylum and she is captured by a military leader to be used as a weapon. Its a dystopian romance that follows a bit of a love triangle and enemies to lovers sorta thing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I loved, loved, LOVED this series. This series had so many unexpeccted twists and turn that I never would have see coming. Overall I would give this series good 9/10. There were some things that I didnt like about this series. For example in book 3-5 I feel like it would be very slow and then something huge would happen and then slow down again, and this kept repeating. I also wasn’t a fan of how rushed the endings were in some of the endings were. But as someone who is not a big fan or dystopian books I actually really enjoyed myself. 

Overall I think this one of the best series i’ve read in a long time. There is a total of 6 main books 6 novellas. I havent read the novellas yet but I plan to in near future. 

This is my rating on which books were my favorite in the series. Starting Most favorite to least favorite.

That is my overall rating of the books and how much I have enjoyed them. I know that not many people may agree with my list but I think most Shatter Me fans can agree that the third book was by far, the best book we got in the series.

★ What is your preferred reading format? My preferred format is audio! In fact, when I first started reading Shatter Me ages ago, I remember switching to the audiobook because I was struggling with the writing style. I loved it much more that way! As the years have gone on, and I’ve gotten busier, audiobooks have become increasingly more accessible for me, compared to physical reading, especially with my ADHD. I tend to get easily distracted with the latter, whereas when I listen to an audiobook, I can be physically doing something with my hands while also doing something my ears. It has done wonders for my for my focus. Do you ever change your reading format mid-read? Hi so I am gonna rant now about my friends who are extremely obsessed with the idea of toxic guys. For some reason mysoginists with huge egos are attractive to them????? Don’t get me wrong I see why the dark and brooding is attractive but excuse me I do not want some random ass dude to treat me like shit wtf. When I say this to them they refuse to believe that the person who is obsessed with shatter me says that she doesn’t like toxic guys. LET ME BE CLEAR warren wasn’t toxic. I mean he had some traits which were maybe not perfect but he wasn’t toxic. He was always the only one who believed in juliette and knew that it was her who had to take control. Now to all the people who say ‘ warren randomly killed dudes ‘ NO he didn’t he explained very clearly that the dude he killed was abusive towards his family. Also all of warren’s coldness and stuff was a result of what he went through as a child and he did the best he could. And honestly though he was such a sweetheart I love him so much..

Warnings: *SMUT* What if Chapter 58 of Ignite Me didn’t end where it did....Juliette continues to show Aaron Warner just how much he’s loved...with her mouth.

A/N: Okay, so this is my first attempt at writing any kind of smut and/or fanfic so please go easy on me and let me know what you think!

“He stifles a moan, turns his face into the pillows. His whole body is trembling, his hand clutching at the sheets. I run my hands down his legs, gripping them just above his knees and inching them apart to make room for the kisses I trail up the insides of his thighs. My nose skims his skin. He looks like he’s in pain. So much pain. I find the elastic waist of his underwear. Tug it down. Slowly. Slowly. The tattoo is sitting just below his hip bone. hell is empty and all the devils are here. I kiss my way across the words. Kissing away the devils. Kissing away the pain.” (End of Chapter 58, Ignite Me)

Aaron’s eyes are still squeezed shut, his face partly hidden by the pillow. I wonder what emotion he can feel from me this moment, and wish I could feel his. My hands still rest on his thighs, and I leave one last, lingering whisper of a kiss on his tattoo before leaning back. He lets out a sigh, relief mingled with frustration. But I’m not done. I want him to know and never doubt my love for him. I bring my hands back up to the elastic band of his underwear and his eyes fly open. I hear the catch in his breath, and his green eyes meet mine when his body arcs up, “Juliette-,” he starts saying, before I cut him off once again. I push his chest back down on the mattress. “I told you, lie down, please,” I whisper to him. His eyes are pools of emotion I think I might be drowning in, but he falls back against the bed, his breath leaving him in a rush that’s strangled enough to be a gasp. I finish tugging down his underwear, leaving him bare in front of me. I know that even though we’ve seen each other before, there’s a new vulnerability here tonight. But I need to show him, in ways that words can’t, the way I cherish him and love him - tortured past and soul aside. For the boy who’s only ever received one gift in his life, and who’s received so little love - I’ll give him mine without conditions or reservations. I kiss my way back up his thighs, taking my time once more. I bite down gently, hearing his strangled gasp, before licking the tender spot softly and pressing another gentle kiss there. When I look back up, Aaron’s head is thrown back against the pillows, his chest heaving up and down, hands grasping the sheets in desperation. I finally move my mouth over him, tasting the salty sweetness of him for the first time. He lets out a choked groan, one hand flying to tangle into my hair. This is new to me, but I know he couldn’t care less. I know no one has ever shown him such unfettered affection before. I wrap my hand around him, and lick a long stripe of the side of him, wringing our another strangled groan from Aaron. I move my mouth up and down him with my hand, while my other traces smooth slides up and down his thigh, occasionally sliding back to gently stroke his balls. Before long, Aaron is an undone before me as I have ever seen. His groans are intermingled with whimpers, and he’s struggling between watching my mouth on him with a certain kind of desperation and adoration and letting bliss overtake him, body and mind. Both hands now tangled in my hair, he reaches a breaking point, gasping out, “Juliette,” and making an attempt to break free even though his body still strains for me. But I keep my mouth and grip on him, and look him deep in the eyes, letting him know it’s okay. Aaron can’t tear his gaze away, and though my body’s been burning this entire time, I feel as though flames are now torching through my limbs as he keeps his eyes on mine, a low groan escaping his lips as his entire body shudders and jerks in my mouth, warm salty liquid filling my mouth until I finally swallow and he falls back in the bed utterly spent. Aaron lies there, whispering my name like it’s a prayer and I crawl back over him, letting my body wrap around his like a blanket. He stares up at me like I’m the moon, shining light into his darkness. “You’ve utterly wreaked me,” he breathes, and I can’t fight the amused grin that breaks out on my face. “I love you,” he says, arms wrapping around my body and pulling me closer until I can’t tell where he begins and I end. “And you love me.” This time, when Aaron says it, it’s not a question, not a disbelieving systement. It’s with a steady, hopeful and tender belief. “And I love you,” I say, presses one last kiss to his forehead as his eyes shutter and I feel his body relax into exhausted slumber. I smile, and let my own eyes close, feeling my body slip into sweet peace.

I thought I would start writing here, it would help me with my writing skills. 

And I really think there are no shatter me fanfics and I really love it, so. Yeah guess, here goes nothing. Plus I wrote it pretty quickly. I just got his idea with Kenji and Juliette because I reread reveal me today and damn T.T

This is Kenji and Juliette. (brotp)  Not really post imagine me, because I didn’t have the heart to read it yet, I’ll try the best to assume how it went. It’s basically talking about stuff till reveal me.

The sun is setting and I know I don’t have to go far to find him. I can see his silhouette, he’s staring at the sunset, his back hunched. Even his posture reflects sadness and it breaks my heart a little. Kenji never makes a big deal about anything when it comes to him but I know he feels invisible, even when he’s not. With everything going on, we’ve hardly had time but I don’t want him to just sit on his feelings and suppress them. He’s there for everyone and this is just not fair.

 He doesn’t notice me as I approach, something must be really bothering him, he’s usually so attentive. He looks at me as I sit down next to him. His hands are laced on his bent knees and he looks surprised to see me. “J, what are you doing? And how did you know where I was?” he says, even though he looks a little bit happy to see me. “Of course i knew where you’d be. you’re my friend. My best friend, Kenji. I also thought there was something bothering you, you were acting weird.” 

He raises one eyebrow, “Weird how, J ? You know it’s called being normal, you might not know about it because your boyfriend doesn't show any of the same behaviour. “Kenji!” I push his arm lightly and he huffs a little laugh. “You didn’t really eat and you looked so tired.” 

He sighs and drops his hands on the grass, I still can’t believe that there’s grass. I’m used to the bare ground.

“It’s just the same old stuff, J.” He doesn’t look at me, instead stares at the sky, The sky looks truly beautiful, the sun casting a saffron glow everywhere.

I stay quiet for a moment and when he still doesn’t look at me, I put my hand on his shoulder, “Kenji, what’s wrong ? You know you can tell me, right ?” He slowly faces me and I can see his eyes look tired and sunken and he looks different than before, dimmed somehow. “Hey, what’s wrong?”  I ask now a little more scared. “J, do you really think no-one can love me ?”

I am somehow taken aback, “What? you must be joking. No, Kenji everyone loves you. I can see it, even back in Point, everyone loves you Kenji.” 

He looks at me as if he’s trying to muster some reassurance. His eyes are glazed over with exhaustion and maybe even emotion. “They all want to hang out with fun Kenji, funny Kenji, Joking Kenji, Nobody can handle all of me. Any other version “ I realise these are the rare moments when Kenji succumbs to his melancholy and I really wish he hasn’t been thinking like this for long. “Kenji, you know I love you no matter which Kenji you are. I love mopey Kenji too. And besides everyone cares about you, not everyone shows it the same way that you think they should, but they do, what’s there not to love. Even Aaron -no matter how much he acts like he doesn’t- cares about you.“

“J, you are really cute sometimes, like when you think that Warner cares about anyone other than you and the cute outfit he will wear on a particular day.” He says smiling a little, and I’m glad he’s feeling a little better, even if he’s mocking Aaron again. “I know he cares Kenji, this just proves my point. Sometimes you don’t know people care because they show it a little differently.” 

“Hmm, J, but what do you think is wrong with me? I mean it can’t be my face, because I mean, hello have you seen it?” At this I raise my brows and try to control my smile when I say seriously “Is this about Nazeera, Kenji?” 

“What? no, J are you feeling okay because it looks like you’re delusional.” He says too quickly and his cheeks get a little flushed as if he’s remembering something. 

“Oh so this is definitely about her.” now I’m smiling openly. 

“maybe a little”

He looks serious again. I hug him from the side, I really want him to be happy, and not just being funny or anything, just genuinely at peace, he deserves the world and I tell him so. He turns and hugs me back tightly and I hold on too. “I missed you, you know.” He whispers as he rests his chin on my head. 

“I missed you too, Kenji. Why didn't you tell me this sooner ?”

He let’s go and lies on his back. it’s almost dark now. “ I don’t know J, you and Warner went through so much recently and we just wanted you to have some time together.” 

I lie back and put my head on his shoulder, and he puts his hand around my shoulder, he squeezes tightly. “Kenji If you have something that's bothering you and you need to talk it through, you can always, no matter what, ask me. Just because me and Aaron are together doesn’t change anything with us. I’ll always be here for you, I care about you Kenji.”

He closes his eyes and I fell his body tense and relax as he breathes to hold his composure. I press myself into his side more tightly and his grip tightens on my shoulder again. “And about Nazeera, they were raised so differently Kenji, they were raised to think logically, to be leaders. Showing emotions is a weakness. But I know she cares, she looks at you like she cares. I can bet she cares a lot more than you think. “ 

  He opens his eyes suddenly and looks at me “you think?” 

“I know” I smile, feeling relieved to see him more like himself. He smiles back, he looks as if a burden has been eased off his shoulders with this conversation.

“And meanwhile, I'm here.”  

His smile comes more easily now. Naturally, not forced. “Warner better not hurt you again, or he’ll hear from me.” At this I snort, “first of all, he won’t hurt me and you will avoid ever picking a fight with Aaron if you can help it.“

“Hey, J, you think I’m afraid of him or something?” I turn to face him and widen my eyes in innocence even as my smile slips out. 

“Well, I'm not ! but seriously J, you won't tell him right now that I said that will you?” At this I laugh out loud and shove him and he starts laughing too. 

Yeah, we’ll be alright.
