इगास बग्वाल की शुभकामनाएं

उत्तराखंड के गढ़वाल में सदियों से दिवाली को बग्वाल के रूप में मनाया जाता है। कुमाऊं के क्षेत्र में इसे बूढ़ी दीपावली कहा जाता है। इस पर्व के दिन सुबह मीठे पकवान बनाए जाते हैं। रात में स्थानीय देवी-देवताओं की पूजा अर्चना के बाद भैला जलाकर उसे घुमाया जाता है और ढोल नगाड़ों के साथ आग के चारों ओर लोक नृत्य किया जाता है।

मान्यता है कि जब भगवान राम 14 वर्ष बाद लंका विजय कर अयोध्या पहुंचे तो लोगों ने दिए जलाकर उनका स्वागत किया और उसे दीपावली के त्योहार के रूप में मनाया। कहा जाता है कि गढ़वाल क्षेत्र में लोगों को इसकी जानकारी 11 दिन बाद मिली। इसलिए यहां पर दिवाली के 11 दिन बाद यह इगास मनाई जाती है।

वहीं, सबसे प्रचलित मान्यता के अनुसार गढ़वाल के वीर भड़ माधो सिंह भंडारी टिहरी के राजा महीपति शाह की सेना के सेनापति थे। करीब 400 साल पहले राजा ने माधो सिंह को सेना लेकर तिब्बत से युद्ध करने के लिए भेजा। इसी बीच बग्वाल (दिवाली) का त्यौहार भी था, परंतु इस त्योहार तक कोई भी सैनिक वापस न आ सका। सबने सोचा माधो सिंह और उनके सैनिक युद्ध में शहीद हो गए, इसलिए किसी ने भी दिवाली (बग्वाल) नहीं मनाई। लेकिन दीपावली के ठीक 11वें दिन माधो सिंह भंडारी अपने सैनिकों के साथ तिब्बत से दवापाघाट युद्ध जीत वापस लौट आए। इसी खुशी में दिवाली मनाई गई।

खास बात ये है कि यह पर्व भैलो खेलकर मनाया जाता है। तिल, भंगजीरे, हिसर और चीड़ की सूखी लकड़ी के छोटे-छोटे गठ्ठर बनाकर इन्हें विशेष रस्सी से बांधकर भैलो तैयार किया जाता है। बग्वाल के दिन पूजा अर्चना कर भैलो का तिलक किया जाता है। फिर ग्रामीण एक स्थान पर एकत्रित होकर भैलो खेलते हैं। भैलो पर आग लगाकर इसे चारों ओर घुमाया जाता है।

hey what was the controversy involving amyl and the sniffers? i like to think that i have a half-decent knowledge of what's happening sometimes in the australian music scene but i hadn't heard of it lmao

ok so i'll link a few articles that explain it a bit more thoroughly but basically they were on the lineup for a festival sponsored by the israeli ambassy and once some artists discovered this they called for a boycott bc obviously a lot of bands don't wanna play a festival sponsored by a colonizer government with a lot of blood on their hands. all these bands pulled out... except the headliner amyl and it didn't take long for people to accuse them of being zionists and to this day ppl still aren't sure if the band ''really didn't know'' like they said or don't care and are posers... but heres some links with more details

and tbh i didn't forgive them until not that long ago bc i rlly thought they should've known better but forgiving is not forgetting for now it is strike 1 for me, if they pull something ignorant again they're over for me, but with situations like this i think people should stay critical and not just form an opinion without a discussion

Definitely THE TREES AND THE WILD. Tapi... Pake tapi.. Saat album pertama yang masih bareng Iga Massardi, album Rasuk. Genrenya masih folk akustikan easy listening gitu. 1 album Rasuk semuanya ngga ada yg gagal, liriknya mix sebagian lagu lirik enggres, sebagian lg indo. Suara lembut Remedy Waloni bikin kau dengerin album ini berasa di kelonin cuy!

Album Rasuk ngga masuk Spotify, jadi aku dengerinnya di Youtube ini 1 album.

Walaupun semua tracklistnya kusuka, aku paling suka Derau & Kesalahan. Ini lagu paling lama diatas 5 menit kalogasalah, dan paling meriah.. Biasanya lagu lain folk akustik mendayu-dayu, nah yg ini agak beda.. Cocok bgt kalo dibawain live pasti meriah bgt.

Honeymoon on ice, irish girl, berlin, malino, the noble savage dll itu lagu2nya enak semua haaa.. Tahun 2009 ini lagi tergila2 sama band ini. Nonton live nya kayanya 2x deh. Pertama pas masih lengkap Remedy dan Iga, yg ke 2 pasca Iga keluar. Yg ke 3 liat Iga doang di Barasuara.

Oiya tadi kubilang saat album Rasuk karena Remedy dan Iga masih bersama. Dan albumnya jg masterpiece bgt ih.. Nah TTaTW yg baru genre nya agak lain, lebih ramai dan meriah kaya udah bukan folk akustik lg malah jadi post rock gt yah.. Yg 1 lagu bisa 8-14 menit, liriknya dikit sisanya musik aja. Dan ini kurang masuk di aku haaa.. Aku suka post rock tp utk TTaTW plis kaya dulu lagi.. Tp kayanya gamungkin yah hiks..

Btw formasi baru aja band ini ngga aktif udah lama bgt. Terakhir denger 2016 mreka manggung di acara musik venuenya di pabrik yg di cicaheum itu. Event besar itu, aku ngga dtg soalnya bentrok sama Food Fest kecayangan Keuken haha. Udah aja setelah itu hiatus kayanya huhu. Super kangen sama Band ini! Jadi Pilot Project Wolbachia, WMP Optimis DBD di Buleleng Beres

BALIPORTALNEWS.COM, BULELENG - Buleleng Development Festival (BDF) 2023 kembali menghadirkan narasumber berbobot yang membahas pembangunan di Kabupaten Buleleng. Pada hari ini, Selasa (22/8/2023), di GOR Bhuana Patra, acara tersebut dihadiri oleh Putu Velyniawati, Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE Specialist) dari World Mosquito Program (WMP) Indonesia sebagai narasumber. Dalam Talk Show yang dipandu oleh IGA Agus Mahendra tersebut, Velyniawati mengemukakan alasan dibalik pemilihan Kabupaten Buleleng sebagai pilot project Wolbachia. Menurutnya, Kabupaten Buleleng memiliki kasus Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) yang cukup tinggi. WMP melihat hal ini sebagai panggilan untuk bertindak dalam mengatasi masalah yang mendesak. "Kami melihat usaha keras Pemerintah Kabupaten Buleleng dalam menghadapi kasus DBD yang cukup meresahkan. Oleh karena itu, kami memutuskan untuk menjadikan Buleleng sebagai salah satu sasaran Pilot Project Wolbachia," kata Velyniawati. Lebih lanjut, Velyniawati menjelaskan bahwa musim pancaroba kerap kali menyebabkan angka kasus DBD meningkat secara signifikan. Oleh karena itu, program penerapan Wolbachia akan segera dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Buleleng untuk membantu meredam penyebaran penyakit ini. Metode Wolbachia yang akan diterapkan oleh WMP adalah dengan menyebarkan nyamuk yang telah diinfeksi oleh bakteri Wolbachia. Bakteri ini memiliki kemampuan untuk mengurangi penularan DBD pada nyamuk Aedes Aegypti, pembawa utama virus penyakit tersebut. Velyniawati juga menyampaikan bahwa metode ini sebelumnya telah berhasil dilakukan di Yogyakarta dan kini sedang diujicobakan di Pulau Bali yaitu Denpasar dan Buleleng. Ia menegaskan bahwa upaya penerapan metode Wolbachia akan dilakukan secara bersamaan dengan berbagai metode preventif lainnya, seperti fogging dan pemantauan jentik nyamuk. "Kami berharap dengan adanya penerapan metode ini, angka kasus DBD di Kabupaten Buleleng dapat ditekan. Penyebaran Wolbachia akan berlangsung selama 12-20 pekan dan dijadwalkan akan dimulai pada Bulan November 2023," tambah Velyniawati. Wahyuni Setyaning Budi (lahir 3 Juni 1972) adalah seorang penyanyi berkebangsaan Indonesia. Ia adalah kakak kandung dari Krisdayanti.

Saat ini bersama dengan Nina Tamam, Iga Mawarni, Rieka Roslan dan Andien, Yuni bergabung kelompok vokal dengan nama 5 Wanita.

Sejak kecil, Yuni senang menyanyi. Ia sering mengikuti lomba sejak duduk di bangku sekolah dasar.

Ketika SMP, Yuni hijrah ke Jakarta. Kesempatan datang tahun 1987, saat Yuni masih SMA, dengan mengikuti Festival Bintang Radio dan Televisi yang mengikutsertakan remaja yang berusia 15 tahun. Yuni meraih juara II berkat lagu keroncong hasil didikan ayahnya.

Dua tahun kemudian, Yuni mengikuti lagi festival yang sama dan meraih juara I. Yuni pun mendapat tawaran rekaman bersama penyanyi lain yang tergabung dalam Billboard All Stars.

TASTING NOTES

My first Third Space Saturday in the new Spacebar, and it took me a minute to get situated. Even though I was there on 18 March on the opening weekend in the new digs, I was sharing the booth with DJ IGA, and collaborative sets unfold in different ways than solo sets. The way we do split sets is more fluid, and IGA’s presentations make me see and hear things differently, and changes my point of view. He is more technically proficient with the decks and mixer than I am, so his precision combined with my freewheeling sloppiness makes for an interesting listening experience. I didn’t share that set list here because it was a spring training game, and the results don’t count in the standings. It doesn’t matter what happens in March, the games start in April.

Truth of the matter: I forgot to take notes.

I have several records I use for an opener, but this night I wanted to do something different. I thought about opening with my newly acquired 12” of Amii Stewart Knock On Wood, but went with the Bowie instead. The extended mix has more saxophone, and the 12” mix kicks harder than the 7” I usually play, so I was pleased with that. I wanted to save Knock for later in the set.

I was having difficulty getting the volume and sound balance right, and it’s something I will have to keep working on.

I intended to throw Link Wray on, but chose Bill Justis Raunchy instead. Did I run out of time, or miscount the bands on the comp I was taking it from? I don’t know, but it worked.

The first half hour was shaky, in my opinion, but I am still kind of rusty, and it took a while for things to resemble a groove. I never plan out sets. I have records I bring, and construct the set from those records, and try to make something listenable out of it. I’m not there to inflict myself on an unsuspecting audience, I’m there to share, and to provide the vibe, to give people an enjoyable environment to relax in, be they patrons, or my colleagues in the bar, who are unbelievably supportive. I love seeing them nodding their heads as they do their job, because all of us who work, or have worked in the service industry know how oppressive bad vibes are.

I did include a couple of friends bands in the set. Sun Atoms, and Bike, who I both saw and met at Treefort. The bands sound great, at the festival, and on the record.

I went an extra hour because I didn’t know how to end it, and I was feeling it, and my brother by law came by late to hang. So, starting with the Pet Shop Boys, I brought things down a notch (for me,) and stayed away from super uptempo bangers.

I played a lot of records.

Next set is a short one, at the Record Store Day after party, Earth Day, 22nd April. Trying to craft an approach that’s different than my usual set.

I’ll bring a lot fewer records.

He suddenly texted me and said that he will go to the festival with his friend from Jakarta (which I don't really care).

Oh, fyi, before this, we agreed that we will go to the festival together since he bought the ticket alone and I also don't wanna bother my friend and their partner, so yeah here we are.

But my internship really sucks. I needed to cancel my plan to go to the festival because I need to go to a site visit in Jakarta. It sucks and I really am sad. So I told him. I said that I think I will not go to the festival because of my internship. And ok, I thought it was the end of the conversation because I wasn't even expecting anything more than that.

Until he asked my twitter and asked me out on the same day. hmm weird.

Actually, it's mixed feelings since I was happy around him but if it's "pdkt", I'm out. I didn't even think that it might be a possibility for us being together, I've never thought that way. Especially because he's one of *** friend haha.

So I said yes, and he picked me up in a cafe near my campus. We went to a juice shop because he said that he was bored of coffee, so why not try new things. It's weird because I was not expecting anything and is curious about his intention.

Finally, I know why he wanted to go out with me. It's because he wanted to know how the relationship between me and his friend went. mmm ok. But so far, it was a win-win because I finally know a lot of truth and he also knows what he's been curious about.

One thing that makes me want to laugh is that he brought his own power socket extension hahaha. Interesting.

Actually, I was a little bit sad here because I feel like a stupid person after knowing the truth about his friend. After he finished his class, we went to Iga Bakar Si Jangkung. He always said that it was not that delicious and overrated. So we went there again to prove that he was wrong!

He wins. He was right that it's overrated hahaha. But I enjoyed that and had so much fun especially because I can tell him a lot of stories, I also loved hearing his story too. After the overrated iga bakar, he wanted to show me one of his favorite dessert in bandung. I just wanna say that I'm so happy here. It was really fun and it's been a long time since I experience this kind of happiness. Still can't figure out what is his intention, but all in all, I'm not regretting what I did on that day. I couldn't lie, I want you to want me, really. But only that, it doesn't mean that I want you too xixixi.
