A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 13: Budding Spring - Episode 25: I'm Home
Izumi: Can you see me, everyone? Is the sound coming through?
Citron: “It’s A-Okay~!”
Sakuya: “It’s good!”
Tsuzuru: “Where are you right now, Sakuya?”
Chikage: “Why does this look like the Edo Era?”
Citron: “Did you use a tie man slip!?”
Tsuzuru: “Time machine.”
Sakuya: “Ahaha. When I told the director about having remote rehearsals, they graciously let me use the theater’s stage.”
Izumi: I’m glad you all look healthy. It’s good to see your faces.
Tsuzuru: “As for us, it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since we last saw each other because we’ve been talking in BlooCha.”
Izumi: Oh, you did say you’d try using that. Is it different from LIME?
Sakuya: “The timing of our messages was weird because of our time differences, but it’s like a message board or an exchange diary, so it’s fun.”
Tsuzuru: “When we all get the timing right, it really feels like we’re together in the same room.”
Masumi: “You’re as loud as always while I’m trying to study.”
Tsuzuru: “Oh, yeah. Masumi, when are you getting your learner’s permit?”
Izumi: Eh, you’re getting a license?
Masumi: “I’m attending driving school. I’m getting a learner’s permit soon. I want to put you on the passenger’s seat as soon as possible.”
Citron: “I will be in charge of the backseat!”
Sakuya: “Masumi-kun seems like he’d be good at driving.”
Chikage: “We’ll leave the role of the Spring Troupe’s chauffeur to Masumi from now on.”
Masumi: “I’ll get a two-seater.”
Tsuzuru: “You really don’t want anyone other than the Director on board.”
Izumi: Itaru-san will be a little late, didn’t he. Let’s try adjusting without him first.
Izumi: Today’s purpose is to prepare for when you all return next week, so you can take it easy.
Izumi: If you can move, please do so. But if there’s no space, just saying the lines is fine.
Izumi: I’ll let you know about any changes to the production as we get to those points.
-
Izumi: — Okay, let’s stop here for now. It’s been a while, but you all remember everything well.
Sakuya: “This was our first time practicing remotely, so it was all kind of new.”
Masumi: “We’re not as close as we’d be in real life, so I feel like I’m relying on my memory of everyone’s acting.”
Chikage: “There’s some lagging, so we’ve got a few communication issues.”
Citron: “I want to practice pace to pace with you all again as soon as possible~!”
Masumi: “Face to face.”
Tsuzuru: By the way, Sakuya, your sword fighting’s gotten a lot better.
Sakuya: “Eh, you really think so!?”
Sakuya: “To be honest, I’ve been focusing on practicing the sword fights in my current performance, so I can put the knowledge I gain to good use for Romeo too.”
Izumi: Your progress is showing.
Tsuzuru: “Ah, then, in that case–”
Itaru: “Sorry, I’m late.”
Izumi: Good work today.
Sakuya: “Good work!”
Citron: “It’s time!”
Izumi: Please start from the scene with Mercutio, Tybalt and Father Lawrence.
Itaru: “Got it.”
-
Izumi: You were all a little stiff at first, but that faded when you got used to remote practicing.
Izumi: I’m glad the Spring Troupe’s atmosphere hasn’t changed.
Sakuya: “We can act even when we’re apart.”
Tsuzuru: “We may be in different places, but it’s nice how it feels like we’re all connected on top of the same stage.”
Izumi: Okay, I’ve relayed all production-related changes to you, so we can end practice here.
Masumi: “If we’re done, do you have a moment?”
Izumi: Hm? What is it?
Masumi: “I sent you a proposal on LIME just now. Take a look.”
Izumi: … A plan proposal? Eh!? Did you write this?
Izumi: (Amazing, the contents are so detailed that it looks like a corporate proposal.)
Masumi: “I’ve been learning a lot of things in the promotion department I’ve been interning in.”
Izumi: I see… I think it’s really well put together. I’ll bring it up to Sakyo-san.
Masumi: “Was I of help?”
Izumi: Of course! Gathering all of these by yourself must’ve been difficult. Thank you!
Masumi: “Not at all. I’m glad I got a chance to realize how difficult what you do is.”
Masumi: “I’ll help you too from now on.”
Izumi: If you say so, I’ll be counting on you.
-
Sakuya: I’m home!
Izumi: Welcome home. You’re the first one.
Sakuya: The plan was for me to leave tomorrow, but the organizer scheduled an off day for me today…
Sakuya: I wanted to be the first one here so I can say “Welcome back” to everyone else.
Sakuya: Because I was really happy when I went off by myself and everyone welcomed me back…
Izumi: I see. I’m sure you’re looking forward to everyone coming back.
Sakuya: I am. I want to practice with everyone as soon as possible. I thought a lot about my acting plan while I was away.
Sakuya: I was inspired by the performances of other companies, and I learned a lot, so I’ve got all kinds of ideas…
Sakuya: There are so many things I want to talk about and try out.
Sakuya: Speaking of which– I’m going to the practice room for a bit!
Izumi: What? Already?
Sakuya: I feel like moving my body all of a sudden!
Izumi: Hehe, take it easy and make sure you don’t exhaust yourself.
-
Sakuya: 1, 2, 3, 4…
Sakuya: (There’s really no other place that calms me like this… It feels like I came back home.)
Sakuya: (Now that I think about it, I wonder where everyone is? It’s about time Citron-san and the others who went abroad would be departing for their journey back home…)
tsuzuru has entered the chat tsuzuru: good morning tsuzuru: i’m packing my things right now, i’m having some trouble because I’ve got too many souvenirs tsuzuru: i’m not sure if the souvenirs i bought for everyone in the company /and/ the souvenirs for my brothers will fit in here tsuzuru: oh, right, i have to remember to pack my computer. i’ll be working til last minute, so i might forget. Curry has entered the chat Curry: i’ll remind you about your pc tomorrow tsuzuru: you’re like a man with many talents To Rorr has entered the chat To Rorr: i am on the verge of eating breakfast! i will head to the airport in the afternoon. i can’t wait to be surrounded by everyone! UC has entered the chat UC: I have a connecting flight, so I’m about to board the plane for Narita Airport. I’ll probably arrive at the dorm tomorrow afternoon. Saku has entered the chat Saku: I returned a day earlier. Stay safe on your way back, everyone!
Sakuya: (Itaru-san is rarely online. He must be really busy…)
Tsumugi: Welcome back, Sakuya-kun.
Banri: Welcome back.
Sakuya: I’m back!
Tenma: Practicing already? I’ll help out.
Sakuya: Thanks! Can I ask you to be my opponent in a sword fight?
Sakuya: I was thinking of taking it easy, but I’ve been restless ever since I stepped into the practice room.
Tsumugi: I think I understand the feeling.
Tenma: I’ll tag along till you’re satisfied.
Banri: Let’s confirm the production-related matters while we’re at it, then.

NOTES:
(1) an acting plan is, quite literally, a plan an actor makes for how they will use their expressions and actions, in order to prevent focusing on only one part of their performance and/or to prevent stiffness. i could not for the life of me find information on this in english, so i'm not sure if it's called something entirely different.

*Applause*
Tenma: Thank you very much!
Yuki: Thank you so much.
Muku: Thank you so much!!
Misumi: Thanks, everyone~!!
Kazunari: Thanks for watching~!
Kumon: Thank you~!!
*Applause*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Announcement: That concludes the performance for today. Thank you very much for attending.
Audience Member A: Everyone was so good!!
Audience Member B: I’m so glad I was able to see the Genie again!
Audience Member C: I saw their debut performance live too, so seeing the current Summer Troupe playing those roles really made me feel just how much they’ve grown. It’s so heartwarming--.
Audience Member D: I know, right!? Seeing them wear those costumes was so moving. Yuki-kun’s costumes are incredible as always!
Audience Member C: Yeah, yeah! Kumon-kun’s Genie of the Ring was so good too, I’m so obsessed with him!
Izumi: (The opening day energy is perfect. This should be able to boost us through all the way to the finale!)
Ibuki: …
Ibuki: What is this… This isn’t anything like watching a stream…
Ibuki: The lighting, the music, the play… The impact of seeing it live is insane.
Ibuki: Interesting…
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: Good work on getting through the opening day of Summer Troupe’s performance successfully!
Kazunari: Good worksies~!
Muku: Good work!
Yuki: Good job.
*Paper rustles*
Misumi: Good work to you too, Gramps~.
Muku: I’m really glad we found him.
Kumon: The power of a boost from Ibukichi really is crazy~!
Kazunari: Speaking of that, did you get them to watch the performance?
Izumi: They helped us out a lot, so I asked them if they wanted to join us for the cast party, but they said they had to do something first and would join in later.
Muku: So they really did watch the performance even though they said they had no interest in theater.
Yuki: I can’t even imagine what they thought about it.
Muku: What if they say they didn’t think it was funny…?
Kumon: Aghh! That’d be really shocking to hear…!
Muku: And then what if they go and put that all over social media…!?
Kumon: AGH!? What are we gonna do!?
Kazunari: Besties, chill, they haven’t even said anything yet!
Misumi: Everything will be a-okay~.
Izumi: I hope they enjoyed it.
Guy: Here are some Zahra-style spring rolls. Please enjoy them.
Muku: Thank you so much!
Tenma: They look good.
Sakuya: And we got more drinks.
Citron: There is still a long way to go from tomorrow all the way until the finale, so Summer Troupe must smirk even harder!
Yuki: Smirk…?
Izumi: You meant, “work” even harder, right?
Kazunari: Right, BTDubs, Sumi’s post about his missing picture is making like crazy headlines all over the internet.
Manager: Right, right, perhaps the reason why the views on the promo video and ticket sales are going up is because of that news~!
Sakuya: That’s great!
Citron: It is a dressing of misguide~!
Muku: Huh!? Me!? Dressing…? (1)
Guy: I believe he was trying to say “a messing in disguise”.
Tenma: That’s even further from what it was supposed to be!
Kazunari: You meant “a blessing in disguise” right~!? Whatever it is, it’s great!
Misumi: Yeah, yeah! I’m sure Gramps is really happy too. Thanks, guys!
Izumi: Anyway, Ibuki-kun seems to be late. I even stocked up on extra fries just for them, but…
*Doorbell rings*
Izumi: Ah, that must be them. Coming.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Door opens*
Ibuki: Yaho!
Towa: P-Please excuse us!
Izumi: Huh?
Sakuya: You brought Towa-kun with you?
*Ibuki pulls Towa in close*
Ibuki: Ibuki Dozono! I’m gonna do theater with this guy right here!
Towa: Y-Yeah!
Muku: Huh!?
Kumon: Ibukichi’s doing theater!?

Notes:
(1) Muku says “Me!?” here because Citron said “ワサワサ転じて椋となる” (wasawasa tenjite muku tonaru) when he was trying to say “災い転じて福となる” (wazawai tenjite fuku tonaru) but I had no real way of conveying Muku’s name being said naturally in English in that phrase.

Notes:
1. Citron writes “ぎゅーどん!” (gyuudon), which was most likely supposed to mean something like “cuteness overload,” but in reality means “beef bowl!” So I went with a food that kind of sounded like “so cute”
2. Inari is a popular figure in both Shinto and Buddhist beliefs. Their messengers are foxes, and there’s a popular belief that Inari herself can turn into a fox, but these foxes are usually white.
3. Citron uses the wrong kanji for Sendai. This also happens for Niigata and his own name.
4. It looks like the correct way to eat tebasaki is to twist them in half and then use your teeth to slide the meat right off the bone. It does seem pretty tough if you’re not used to it!
5. Instead of 手羽先 (tebasaki), Citron writes 出っ歯先 (deppa saki), with the kanji for “bucktooth”
6. The “to want” verb ending in Japanese is “たい” (tai). Citron replaces it with 鯛 (tai), which means “sea bream.” He does this a few times throughout his posts.
7. Citron is imitating the Kansai dialect here.
8. It doesn’t actually say “classic” anywhere, but it’s sort of implied and it doesn’t really make sense without it
9. I feel like I kind of have to explain this one lol - イタリアン (Italian) is actually a yakisoba dish. It combines yakisoba with Italian-style meat sauce.
10. He writes 闇, which usually means “darkness,” but if he got the kanji right he probably meant it in terms of “black market”
11. Citron says きばばり (kibabari, which means nothing as far as I can tell) when he may have meant 気晴らし (kibarashi, pastime), so with that in mind I made the first half correct and threw in a random word that rhymed with time for the second half lol
12. A Kyushu Man (九州男児, kyuushuu danji) is sort of a “classic ideal man.” There are positive and negative aspects to this archetype, but Citron’s most likely referring to the image of a brave man with a strong sense of justice (etc.)
13. Lots of yatai have names that end in -chan. I’m honestly not sure if Citron’s making a mistake here or not, but he has the right idea at least.
#a3!#a3! translation#spring troupe#someone remind me to add these to the masterlist later because I can and will forget

A3 x Sleeping at Last
I have a fondness for the musician Sleeping at Last and i decided to have fun associating at least one of his song per A3 Characters. Under the cut are songs as well as some highlight lyrics to justify my choice. Some of them i feel more strongly than others so anyone with a comment is welcomed as well.
Thus here i go:
& Spotify playlist of all those songs in order if you want to go through it
Mankai Company : North
We will call this place our home, The dirt in which our roots may grow. Though the storms will push and pull, We will call this place our home. We’ll tell our stories on these walls. Every year, measure how tall. And just like a work of art, We’ll tell our stories on these walls. Let the years we’re here be kind, be kind. Let our hearts, like doors, open wide, open wide. Settle our bones like wood over time, over time. Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine.
Spring Troupe: From The Ground Up
It took me 27 years to wrap my head around this- To brush the ashes off of everything i love. Where courage was contagious, confidence was key. Right as rain, soft as snow, It grows and grows and grows, Our home sweet home.
We'll try to document this light, With cameras to our eyes, In an effort to remember What being mended feels like.
We're home sweet home.
Sakuya Sakuma : The Projectionist
When I was young I fell in love with story, With the eleventh hour, with the blaze of glory.
When hands are tied and clocks are ticking An audience convinced, we're leaning in, holding our breath again Just when we thought the game was over The music lifts and our dying soldier lives And we breathe a sigh of relief The theater lights dim and all goes quiet. In the darkest of rooms, light shines the brightest.
We’re leaving, we’re leaving our shadows behind us now. We’re leaving, we’re leaving it all behind for now. But even dust was made to settle And if we’re made of dust, then what makes us any different? I guess we give what we’ve been given: A family tree so very good at giving up When we’ve had enough. Though truth is heavier than fiction, Gravity lifts as the projectionist rolls tape. And it makes us brave again
Masumi Usui : Venus
At first I thought you were a constellation. I made a map of your stars, then I had a revelation: You’re as beautiful as endless, You’re the universe I’m helpless in. An astronomer at my best When I throw away the measurements.
I was a billion little pieces 'til you pulled me into focus. Astronomy in reverse, It was me who was discovered.
Tsuzuru Minagi : Page 28
Have you read the script? Could you picture it? ... is it worth the risk?
Here in the second act I'm living in repair. Strange how the heart adapts when its pieces disappear. And there, on page 28, I'm so tired of drying glue, I begin my grand attempt at building something new. Though I tend to write the epiphany more immediately, I guess I'm trusting that there's such a thing as elegance in dissonance. God, I'm skeptical of pulling scenes. Was it something that I said? was it something that I did? Please don't get me wrong - I still need your help As history repeats itself Here in the aftermath, I'm pulling at the seams. Strange how the heart adapts in the absence of routine. And there, on page 29, I find “new” and make it mine. But I can't help casting shadows on all I leave behind. Maybe I could afford to change a bit... Even let go of the reigns? Every torn out page was worth the risk Now that the stakes have been raised. So here in the final draft, I've given all I have. Strange how the heart expands in the absence of a plan. There's nothing left on the page, but I'm okay with that, For I found my resolution Was designed for stronger hands.
or Body
There's magic in our bones, A north star in our soul That remembers our way home. There's magic in our bones. No, I don't have a script for this. But I know the right words exist Somewhere, And I just need more time. I know, I know, I'm asking for the moon, But I must listen to intuition Believe me, I only want what's right.
Itaru Chigasaki : Pluto
I woke up from the same dream: Falling backwards, falling backwards ’Til it turned me inside out. Now I live a waking life Of looking backwards, looking backwards; A model citizen of doubt. Until one day I had enough Of this exercise of trust. I leaned in and let it hurt, And let my body feel the dirt. When I break pattern, I break ground. I rebuild when I break down. I wake up more awake than I’ve ever been before. Still I’m pinned under the weight Of what I believed would keep me safe. So show me where my armor ends, Show me where my skin begins. Like a final puzzle piece It all makes perfect sense to me… The heaviness that I hold in my heart belongs to gravity. The heaviness that I hold in my heart’s been crushing me.
Or East
I set out to rule the world With only a paper shield and a wooden sword. No mountain dare stand in my way, Even the oceans tremble in my wake. The tide is brave, but always retreats. Even the sand, it cowers under my feet. My kingdom towers above it all, While I sleep safe and sound in my cardboard walls. Now I bear little resemblance to the king I once was. I bear little resemblance to the king I could become. Maybe paper is paper, maybe kids will be kids- Lord, I want to remember how to feel like I did. So I draw my sword with the morning sun, I summon the moon as soon as the day is done. The clouds march on, on my command. Even the rain, it falls according to plan. The trees bow down and give their leaves. I humbly accept their offerings of peace. The years wore on and changed my heart, The leading role for a smaller part.
Citron : Noble Aim
Chances are we are the same, against the odds, against the grain We lean, like gardens toward light but we wait, Like evening for night, Don't we? Chances are we are alike, against what better judgement writes We ache, like children for love For a purpose worthy of such a noble aim as love.
Chances are we bruise the same; a family tree desperate for rain. A thirst only deserts know best. a hurt so at home in our chests. Call it stubbornness or bravery, To let our branches continue to reach, With such a noble aim, With such a noble aim as love. Every broken branch and loosened leaf that we've grown to ignore, Is now a part of something greater than before. Every nest that rests upon our limbs, Seeking shelter from the storms, Is a purpose worth being broken for.
Chances are we are the same, against the odds, against the grain We lean, like gardens toward light, We reach with all of our might For such a noble aim as love
Chikage Utsuki : Neptune
Pitch black, pale blue, It was a stained glass Variation of the truth, And I felt empty handed. You let me set sail with cheap wood. So I patched up every leak that I could, 'Til the blame grew too heavy.
Stitch by stitch I tear apart, If brokenness is a form of art, I must be a poster child prodigy Thread by thread I come apart If brokenness is a work of art, Surely this must be my masterpiece
I'm only honest when it rains If I time it right, the thunder breaks, when I open my mouth I wanna tell you but I don't know how
I'm only honest when it rains An open book, with a torn out page, and my inks run out I want to love you but i don’t know how...
Or South
Some truths, over time, can learn to play nice. Some truths are sharper than knives. Some truths we only see in the corners of our eyes. Some truths we wish we could hide. Some truths can save us, Some take our lives. Some truths are fire and some truths are ice. No matter what category you fit into, Truth’s got its sight set on you. If truth is north, then I am true south. I can’t figure it out- God knows. Always looking up 'Til my eyes give up. That’s how I lost touch of who I am and who I was.
Summer Troupe : Joy
The clumsy start of adolescence, The glue that mends our broken remnants, An overwhelming sense of reverence, It's a glimpse of light in a mine of gold. A silver lining spilling over, The rumor of buried treasure, The starting line of an adventure, It's a glimpse of light in a mine of gold. It's an afterglow, it's an echo Still ringing out in spite of me. It's the faint outline of the divine In the hiding place of my periphery. So I let go and in this moment, I can breathe. I can breathe. The countless stars we're sleeping under, It's the brightest sparks that we remember. When our eyes are closed, we still see embers, A glimpse of light in a mine of gold. It's a glimpse of light in a mine of gold.
Tenma Sumeragi : Three
Maybe I've done enough, and your golden child grew up Maybe this trophy isn't real love, And with or without it I'm good enough Maybe I've done enough, Finally catching up For the first time I see an image of my brokeness Utterly worthy of love
And I finally see myself, Through the eyes of no one else. It's so exhausting on this silver screen Where I play the role of anyone but me. I finally see myself, Unabridged and overwhelmed, A mess of a story I'm ashamed to tell, But I'm slowly learning how to break this spell. And I finally see myself. Now I only want what's real, to let my heart feel what it feels. Gold, silver or bronze hold no value here, Where work and rest are equally revered. I only want what's real, I set aside the highlight reel, And leave my greatest failures on display with an asterisk; Worthy of love anyway.
Yuki Rurikawa : Hope
There is hope in our eyes when we truly see each other Like the light of countless stars We are not afraid of the dark 'Cause there is hope in our hearts And every single beat, we feel it To the ends of the earth, our echo carries on We are sacred, we are strong, We are beautiful, we belong Please hear our unheard song There is hope in our voice when we listen to each other Barriers disappeared with every story told We are sacred, we are strong, We are beautiful, we belong Please hear our unheard song There is hope in our eyes, When we truly see each other We raise our flag, lift our voice This is our moment, We are sacred, we are strong This is our moment, We are beautiful, we belong This is our moment, We are worthy, we are true This is our moment, There are no borders from this view Please help us raise our flag There is hope in our eyes when we truly see each other
Muku Sakisaka : Daughter
I want to see your happily ever after, That you know in your heart that you matter, That you are royalty. This is your kingdom, This is your crown, This is your story. This is your moment, Don’t look down.
You’re ready. born ready, And all you gotta do is put one foot in front of you. Our ceiling is your floor, And all you gotta do is put one foot in front of you. If only you knew
Misumi Ikaruga : Seven
How nice it'd be if we could try everything? I'm serious, let's make a list and just begin What about danger? So what, what about risk? Let's climb the mountain before we cross that bridge! 'Cause I'm restless, For whatever comes next
How wonderful to see a smile on your face It costs farewell tears for a welcome-home parade A secret handshake between me and my one life: I'll find the silver lining no matter what the price 'Cause I'm hungry, For whatever comes next Let me tell you another secret of the trade- It feels like sinking when I'm standing in one place So I look to the future and I book another flight When everything feels heavy, I've learned to travel light But I want to be here, Truly be here To watch the ones that I love bloom And I want to make room To love them through and through and through And through the slow and barren seasons too
I feel hope deep in my bones... And tomorrow will be beautiful.
Kazunari Miyoshi : Nine
Who am I to say what any of this means? I have been sleepwalking since I was fourteen Now as I write my song, I retrace my steps Honestly, it's easier to let myself forget
Still, I check my vital signs, Choked up, I realize I've been less than half myself for more than half my life
It looks like empathy to understand all sides But I'm just trying to find myself through someone else's eyes So show me what to do to restart this heart of mine How do I forgive myself for losing so much time?
A little at a time I feel more alive I let the scale tip and feel all of it It's uncomfortable but right We were born to try, to see each other through To know and love ourselves and others well Is the most difficult and meaningful work we'll ever do
Kumon Hyodo : Intermission
I'm so tired but I can't sleep. My mind is full but I can't speak. Among the dust of the hard-to-reach, I'm stuck Right here, somewhere between side a and side b. I could call it compromise, or just an intermission. Some kind of consolation prize for the race I never finished. I want to turn these tired gears. I want to feel the follow-through, Some kind of equilibrium... Something to set my watch to.
I'm here, somewhere between victory and a white flag. Caught in this purgatory dream, I'm stuck. But I want to set the record straight, I want to retrace my every step. If I could just rewind all the tapes, Then maybe I'd find my loose thread. Call it a compromise, or just an intermission. Some kind of consolation prize, so close, but never finished. I want to turn these tired gears. I want to feel the follow-through, Some kind of equilibrium... Something to set my watch to.
Pluto works for him too
Autumn Troupe : The Sea of Atlas
We once felt safe, like no cure was needed. Our vocabularies had no room for “defeated,” But we grew up quick and became connoisseurs of it. There's a fine line, a fine line in between Our progress and our instability. We can't help ourselves but hunt for more. A design flaw? or the olive branch that proves the shore- The catalyst we've waited for.
Banri Settsu : One
Hold on for a minute, 'Cause I believe that we can fix this over time That every imperfection is a lie, Or at least an interruption Now hold on, let me finish, No, I'm not saying perfect exists in this life But we'll only know for certain if we try
The list goes on forever of all the ways I could be better in my mind As if I could earn God's favor given time Or at least congratulations Now I have learned my lesson The price of this so-called perfection is everything I spend my whole life searching desperately To find out grace requires nothing of me I... I wanna sing a song worth singing I'll write an anthem worth repeating I... I wanna feel the transformation A melody of reformation I hold it all more loosely, and yet somehow much more dearly 'Cause I spend my whole life searching desperately To find out that grace requires nothing Grace requires nothing of me
Juza Hyodo : Taste
I am alive, I am awake. I am aware of what light tastes like. The curtains drawn, the table's set, I wanna be, I wanna be, at my best.
I'm on my knees and only scratch the surface.
Out of the woods, out of the dark. I’m well aware of the shadows in my heart. I wanna feel, tectonic shifts; I wanna be, I wanna be, astonished. I wanna be astonished. So I propose a toast: To fists unraveling, to glass unshattering. To breaking all the rules, to breaking bread again. We’re swallowing light, we’re swallowing our pride. We’re raising our glass, ’til we’re fixed from the inside. 'Til we're fixed from the inside. We're nothing less than a work in progress. Sacred text on Post-It notes. We only speak of a world in pieces. Let's make a map of what matters most: Where every fracture is a running river. Leading us back to our golden coast.
OR Mercury
No one can unring this bell Unsound this alarm, unbreak my heart new God knows, I am dissonance Waiting to be swiftly pulled into tune
I know the further I go The harder I try, only keeps my eyes closed And somehow I’ve fallen in love With this middle ground at the cost of my soul Yet I know, if I stepped aside Released the controls, you would open my eyes That somehow, all of this mess Is just my attempt to know the worth of my life
Made of precious metals, precious metal inside
Taichi Nanao: Sadness
It feels like falling, It feels like rain, Like losing my balance, Again and again It once was so easy, Breathe in, breathe out But at the foot of this mountain I only see clouds
I feel out of focus, or at least indisposed As this strange weather pattern inside me takes hold Each brave step forward I take three steps behind It's mind over matter, Matter over mind
Slowly, then all at once, A single loose thread And it all comes undone
Where there is light a shadow appears The cause and effect when life interferes The same rule applies to goodness and grief For in our great sorrow We learn what joy means
I don't want to fight, I don't want to fight it But I will learn to fight, I will learn to fight 'Til this pendulum finds equilibrium
Slowly, then all at once, The dark clouds depart And the damage is done, So pardon the dust While this all settles in, With a broken heart Transformation begins
or Bright and Early
The sun comes pouring in. Filling glasses up with diamonds, Stirring where I've been But it's all trigger and effect. Dominoes at their best. In the end I'm told, It taught me everything I know. That the wreckage left behind, will somehow make me grow.
In the end I'm told It taught me everything I know. But when the fire took our home, I lost part of my soul. From the ground up I'll keep building houses into homes. 'cause if trust is ribbon, Then patience ties it in a perfect bow.
Omi Fushimi : Aperture
Happiness is somewhere I have been before- A blurry photograph that I have since ignored. I'll carefully adjust the aperture once more, Until I set the record straight. I'll brush aside the dim, make room for the bright. I'll be an editor, no, a curator of light. I'll let my better angels always set me right, Until I even out the score. Until I even out the score. God, it has been quite a year- I've lived a little bit and I've died a little more. I know that I've asked it before, But please let the scale tip here in my favor. What was once the sweetest melody I've heard Is now a memory reduced to little words. I'll tune the orchestra and play the overture, Until I pinpoint every note. Give me the heart of an archeologist, That I may dig until I prove that I exist. A subterranean cathedral in my midst, Where echos come to rest.
Sakyo Furuichi : Touch
When will I feel this as vivid as it truly is, Fall in love in a single touch, and fall apart when it hurts too much? Can we skip past near-death clichés Where my heart restarts, as my life replays? All I want is to flip a switch Before something breaks that cannot be fixed.
Invisible machinery, These moving parts inside of me Well, they’ve been shutting down for quite some time, Leaving only rust behind. Well I know, I know - the sirens sound Just before the walls come down. Pain is a well-intentioned weatherman Predicting God as best he can, But God I want to feel again, Oh God I want to feel again.
Rain or shine, I don’t feel a thing, just some information upon my skin. I miss the subtle aches when the weather changed, The barometric pressure we always blamed. All I want is to flip a switch Before something breaks that cannot be fixed. Down my arms, a thousand satellites Suddenly discover signs of life.
Azami Izumida : Anger
Like wildfire, it starts in my chest The silence grows louder, ringing out in my head
I feel the Earth shaking under my feet I feel the pressure building until I can't breathe And it takes everything
And it all spills out, reckless but honest words leave my mouth Like kerosene on a flame of doubt, I couldn't make it right
Alarms will sound, but it's too late for holy water now Sooner or later the fire dies down, I'll open up my eyes
And I'll try and find the image of God In mountains made of ash and clouds of smoke It's fight or flight, buried in my mind, It's fight or flight It keeps my mind cold
But I feel it break, With just one misstep down a fire escape And suddenly I'm someone that prays, a last minute man of faith But I'll leave behind miles and miles of jagged lines Upon the surface of the Divine, I wish I could set them straight
Say
they impose the endless fight to always be perfect it seems they have been chosen to be above the rest
but the contradiction stands between these perfect lives and the words that they've misread there was no reading say all the things that you really want to say the truest of forms will show finally you'll find your soul
Bonus: Sakyo & Azami: Uneven Odds
I once knew your father well He fought tears as he spoke of your mother’s health I guess a part of him just couldn’t return Forgiveness is a lesson he cursed you to learn As your guardian I was instructed well To make sense of God’s love in these fires of hell No I don’t expect you to understand Just to live what little life your broken heart can Maybe your light is a seed And the darkness the dirt In spite of the uneven odds Beauty lifts from the earth As the years move on these questions take shape Are you getting stronger or is time shifting weight? No one expects you to understand Just to live what little life your mended heart can You’ll always remember the moment God took her away For the weight of the world was placed on your shoulders that day You’re much too young now so I write these words down, “Darkness exists to make light truly count.”
& Heirloom
You try your hardest to leave the past alone. This crooked posture is all you’ve ever known. It is the consequence of living in between The weight of family and the pull of gravity. You are so much more than your father’s son. You are so much more than what I’ve become. Long before you were born there was light Hidden deep in these young, unfamiliar eyes. A million choices, though little on their own, Become the heirloom of the heaviness you’ve known. You are so much more than your father’s son. You are so much more than what I’ve become,
You pressed rewind for the thousandth time When the tapes wore through. So you memorized those unscripted lines, Desperate for some kind of clue:
When the scale tipped, when you inherited, A fight that you were born to lose. It’s not your fault, No, it’s not your fault, I put this heavy heart in you.
You remind me of who I could have been, Had I been stronger and braver way back then. A million choices, though little on their own, Became the heirloom of the heaviness we’ve known. You are so much more than your father’s son. You are so much more than the wars you’ve won. You are so much more than your father’s son. You are so much more than what I’ve become.
Winter Troupe : Homesick
Our resignation only comes on beaten paths When the world was flat we dreamt of its edges If love's elastic, then were we born to test it's reach? Is it buried treasure or just a single puzzle piece? It's poison ivy beneath our brave and trusting feet All revelations come to us in recovery Cry wolf, cry mercy, Cry the name of the one you were raised to believe Cry heart, cry yourself to sleep, Cry a storm of tears if it helps you breathe It helps you, if it helps you breathe
Or Hourglass
We're taking turns at shattering apart. At least we're taking turns. How did we get so good at dismantling these hearts? How did we ever get so good? We dress our best to receive their sympathy. At our worst, we dress our best? “time heals all” According to these greeting cards. Oh how we'd rather time resets. If we could turn the hourglass, we would. If we could move a grain of sand, we would. If we could find our way back, we would.
Tsumugi Tsukioka : Clockwork
There is glass between our touch, phantom limbs of former love... and the truth is that I am so terrified that the callous is deeper than the surface of our skin. and it takes us twice as long, it takes us twice as long to heal. we'll lift up the ground to see the system of roots beneath. gears turn, endlessly, to bring the world back to life like clockwork, when it dies. the cadence of beating hearts, the click of its moving parts grows louder and louder from this restless earth... future gardens wait patiently below and somehow we smell them blossom through the snow.
still unsatisfied, we chase what we're denied. as generations wait, we can't resist the taste of possibility. gears turn, endlessly, to bring us back to life again. like clockwork, we begin.
Tasuku Takato : Porcelain
The door broke when you slammed it shut, and the cracks kept reaching long after you left. through the floorboards, branching towards the hall, like vines that never rest... climbing like fire through the walls. a single spark that claims the whole forest - I know, I know... it's all for the best. but honestly, I would rather be safe from a distance than here... when I fell to my knees to sew the damage shut, I couldn't believe... a bright, staggering light came flooding into me from out of the seams. so I reached deeper in and pulled my whole world wide open, and for each broken mile, a billion miracles happen at once in everything... in everything. but I'm safe from a distance, right here. everything I love was made of porcelain, ready to break. but the bright, staggering light, it anxiously waits inside. like nesting dolls, the secret hides. and like every birth, it was a necessary pain... I know, I know... it's all worth the wait, worth the weight.
or Accidental Lights
On your mark, get set... A million miles past the finish line My heels lift at this imaginary starting line. The trigger slips; My heart was racing well before it's time. Time's running out, it's always running out on me, As the road up ahead disappears. Though it's all been said, and this empty dictionary is all that's left, I'll try to change the world in a single word. My hands are shaking, ready or not. Invisible ink well it's all I've got. So I'll concentrate and pick from these barren trees. Time's running out, it's always running out on me, And every road I discover disappears under my feet - Some call it reckless, some call it breathing. Have i said too much or not enough? Is it overkill or is it giving up, To measure out the distance of an echo's reach? If it's all broken mirrors and a chance roll of the dice, Then I'll risk everything for a glimpse of accidental light. Time's running out, it's always running out on me, And every road I've discovered disappears under my feet - Some call it reckless, I call it breathing.
Hisoka Mikage : Smell
Is this the part when the brain scans show where memories reside? Some ambiguous shape in me suddenly producing light Triggered like a tripwire, every time I breathe it in Isn't it strange that a Lilac tree is what unlocks where I've been? Like a time machine rebuilds the past, our memories return Like remembering the ashes before we burn
It finishes against my will, the light goes out, my heart goes still And just like that, I believe in ghosts
Time and space are at my back, Performing disappearing acts Now I can escape the smell of smoke Research says that the only way to keep memories intact Is to lock 'em away and close the doors to countless years of past I guess that explains why the strangest things can conjure up the past And forgotten time will find its long way back
It doesn't matter, I just know I need more Cause I feel like I've been sleeping through the better part of this Laying dormant through an endless winter that doesn't even exist
It's gravity in an hourglass, responsible for the avalanche And the loudest silence that I've ever heard Memory clear as a bell, A story that I will try to tell Maybe this time without words
Homare Arisugawa : Four
Maybe I'm hiding behind metaphor Maybe my heart needs to break to be sure One day I'll wear it all on my sleeve The insignificant with the sacred unique But I've fallen in love with a ghost I lost my balance when I needed it most And this blurry photograph is proof Of what I'm not sure but it feels like truth I'm stuck swimming in shadows down here It's been forever since I came up for air Flashlight in hand determined to find Authenticity only poetry could even begin to try to describe
What if we already are who we've been dying to become In certain light I can plainly see a reflection of magnificence Hidden in you, Maybe even in me
or Son
Show me Who I am and who I could be Initiate the heart within me 'til it opens properly
Slow down Start again from the beginning I can't keep my head from spinning out of control Is this what being vulnerable feels like? And I will try, try, try to breathe 'til it turns to muscle memory I'm only steady on my knees One day I'll stand on my own two feet And I'll run the risk Of being intimate with brokenness Through this magnifying glass I see a thousand finger prints On the surfaces of who I am
Azuma Yukishiro : Two
Tell me, is something wrong? If something's wrong, you can count on me You know I'll take my heart clean apart if it helps yours beat It's okay if you can't find the words, Let me take your coat and this weight off of your shoulders
I know exactly how the rule goes Put my mask on first No, I don't want to talk about myself Tell me where it hurts I just want to build you up, build you up 'Til you're good as new And maybe one day, I will get around To fixing myself, too I don't even know where to start Already tired of trying to recall when it all fell apart I just want to love you, to love you, to love you well I just want to learn how, somehow to be loved myself
Or Six
What would it feel like to put this baggage down? If I'm being honest I'm not sure I'd know how I want to take shelter but I'm ready, ready to fight And somewhere in the middle I feel a little paralyzed But maybe I'm stronger than I realize I wanna believe - No, I choose to believe That I was made to become a sanctuary Fear won't go away but I can keep it at bay And these invisible walls just might keep us safe With a vigilant heart, I'll push into the dark And I'll learn to breathe deep and make peace with the stars Is that courage or faith to show up every day? To trust that there will be light, Always waiting behind even the darkest of nights
Guy : Mind
First, the ground rules get established: Memory is historically inaccurate. But repetition, repetition sings 'Til finally the melody is sacred, rooted, unchanged.
It overwhelms the nervous system, This fearful constant state of comparison. In our grey matter, all grey matters. An embarrassment of riches in our heads, We gravitate to black or white instead. We were designed to send mixed signals, One image made up of different pixels All subject to interpretation. 'Til binary systems, binary systems run And the vibrancy of everything becomes zeros and ones.
Patterns form and feel important, It's the first brush stroke of a self-portrait.

Found Family Forever
Ahhhh!!!! Finally I can post this! (´;ω;`)
I have spent weeks on this and it was really hard to keep quiet, but I really wanted to do the idea justice
Many thanks to @beelsbreakfast for helping me finalize the idea and for suffering with me through all the sudden thoughts and angst (though I promise this is fluff and not angst!) I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you, boo! (つ≧▽≦)つ
I hope you all enjoy ♡
Mankai becomes Sakuya's family
The adults are all supportive of him and he's able to go to them for help/advice
That being said, he still struggles a lot with relying on them -years of trying to please others and not be a burden have built mannerisms difficult to overcome
If there's an event requiring an adult, but they don't have to be family, at least one of the Mankai adults will go. Sakuya was concerned about asking his relatives and consulting someone (likely Tsuzuru) on what to do. This gets overheard by Izumi and she volunteers to go. Later events also have several other volunteers including Azuma, Tsumugi, and Homare
Typically Izumi, Azuma, and Tsumugi are the 3 who will go
Citron tells Sakuya stories to help him sleep, but Sakuya will wake up in the middle of the night and feel lonely
He feels bad waking Citron, so instead goes out and walks about the dorm, usually running into Azuma
Azuma invites Sakuya to sit with him and color in some pages over tea or warm milk
At first, they tend to sit in silence or have light conversations, but one night Sakuya feels particularly lonely and Azuma comforts him as he cries
Azuma and Sakuya get a lot closer after that night-both of them know the feelings of being alone, of not having family, of trying to find their way in the world with little guidance. They also are both painfully aware that while they've found home in Mankai, time continues to flow and the others will all likely move on. At the very least, their time in the dorms all together is limited
It's not easy, but Sakuya asks Azuma about what it's like to be without family and for advice with his future
Though their situations differ, they are also similar enough that Azuma sees Sakuya as a reflection of his younger self. He does his best to help Sakuya consider his future, and he desperately wants a different path for Sakuya than the one he stumbled upon
As their evenings together grow more frequent, Azuma begins to expect Sakuya and saves some snacks for him. Of course, Azuma's favorite nights are when Sakuya doesn't come out, since that means he's sleeping peacefully, yet he can't help but feel a surge of sadness whenever this happens, a twinge of loneliness
Sakuya requests and hears stories about Azuma's family
The day Azuma's heart breaks into a million pieces and he VOWS to always be present for Sakuya is when, after Azuma tells Sakuya of one of his childhood adventures with his family, Sakuya asks, "Do you think one day I could be as good a parent as yours were?"
Later on, Azuma sobs when Sakuya looks at him and asks, "Do you think I'll be as good a dad as you are?"
Once Sakuya starts feeling sleepy again, Azuma will help guide him back to bed and tuck him in. Occasionally he's too late, so will gently lower Sakuya until he's lying on the couch and wrap him in blankets. Blanket burrito Sakuya
Azuma humming Sakuya lullabies and playing w/his hair as he drifts off to sleep
Although the others joke that Sakyo's their dad, to Sakuya, Azuma better matches his idea of a father figure
As he and Azuma get closer, he accidentally calls Azuma "Dad" (probably also does this to Tasuku, Sakyo, and Yuzo)
He doesn't understand why. After all, it's not a word he uses regularly
Sakuya will be thoroughly embarrassed by it and Azuma won't notice... at first. Then he realizes Sakuya was referring to him and short circuits
Sakuya calling Azuma "father" in his sleep and Azuma melts
Sakuya getting Azuma, Sakyo, Yuzo, and Tetsuro Father's Day Gifts
Although Sakuya and Azuma get along with everyone and consider all of Mankai their family, the two are particularly close
In fact, everything is fine until one of the other members ends up in the hospital
Their fellow Mankai member is fine, but Sakuya and Azuma are shaken. They are reminded that life changes and things won't stay the same, a fact they know, but have fervently been putting off thinking about because Mankai and all its members are their home and family, found after years of silent pain.
Azuma especially takes the news of hospitalization of their friend hard as he's reminded of the hopelessness from his family's death
Sakuya worries more on that they're alone at night and none of them can visit/stay with them if it's not visiting hours as they aren't legal family
Sakuya starts questioning what it means to be family -he has Mankai, but they're not legally recognized. In fact, outsiders would just consider them close co-workers and maybe use the word "family", but with a different connotation. What, then, is truly family?
Struggling with his feelings, Sakuya seeks out Tsuzuru and talks with him. He may also consult the others, particularly Juza, Kumon, + Muku
It's at this point that Sakuya realizes that, while he treasures all of Mankai, there is one person in particular who he loves as family and would be devastated to lose. Someone who, according to Tsuzuru, he views as his own father
Armed with this new knowledge, Sakuya approaches Winter Troupe (sans Azuma), Izumi, and Sakyo -they know Azuma best, and should anyone know the answer to his questions, it's them
Knowing the holidays are coming up, they think Sakuya is going to ask for advice about presents
While they're not wrong, they're stunned by his question
Griping his pants, Sakuya tried to ease the shaking of his digits. Sweat soaked his palms as his ears heard only the erratic thrumming of his heart and the steady ticks of the clock. They were waiting on him to speak, he needed to get the words out.
"Sakuya?" Izumi leaned towards him, hand resting on his shoulder. Sakuya was certain she could feel his tremors." Are you alright?"
Taking a breath. Sakuya nodded, raising his head to face the audience before him.
"Do you think Azuma would adopt me?"
Once they all have time to process Sakuya's question, there's a whirlwind of responses, but the resounding answer is yes.
Izumi and Tsumugi hug Sakuya
Hisoka, Homare, and Tasuku smile and pat him on the back (+ offer marshmallows)
Sakyo ruffles his hair and simply congratulates him
Sakyo knows the most about adoptions, though Sakuya has done his research, too
Is the most help in getting everything together for Sakuya to ask
Sakuya decides to ask during the holidays, and they’re more than happy to help
Decide they’ll do a holiday gift exchange
Rope Chikage in to teach Sakuya how to make it look like he’s pulled a name randomly when he’s really just held on to Azuma’s name the entire time
They don’t tell anyone else, the fewer people who know, the less likely Azuma’s going to hear about it
Sakuya preps another gift so Azuma doesn’t feel pressured in to accepting him and because he’s worried Azuma won’t like it
Freaks the fuck out the closer it gets to the event
At this point all of Spring Troupe knows because they’re helping him stay composed
And then the day comes:
Presents litter the table, wrapped in bags, boxes, and -is that duct tape? Music pours from the speakers with the karaoke gang singing along, not even trying to be in tune. Omi’s freshly baked cookies are almost all gone, but their scent lingers amongst the spice of warm cider and peppermint. Izumi’s struggle to get Yuki to join in the ugly sweater festivities finally won, she signals Kamekichi to let out a squawk (a much preferred method over her previous megaphone) and ushers all stragglers over to the lounge. Passing Sakuya, she pats his back and smiles before sitting down. He lets out the breath he was holding.
It’ll be ok, he tells himself, they would’ve told you if it wasn’t.
But still, with every gift opened he feels the butterflies worsen, feels his throat tighten; he needs water, air, space -anything- to give him time. He doesn’t remember what he’s holding in his hands and his laughter sounds far away -he’s grateful Tsumugi’s the one who had given him his gift, he can see the understanding in his eyes. Is it just that his acting has improved so much over the years or that everyone’s too excited to notice his strangeness? Sakuya’s not sure, but he feels as though he’s on stage for the first time again.
He knows he doesn’t need to be this nervous, he and Azuma have gotten close over the years -Sakuya goes to Azuma first when he wants advice, when he can’t sleep at night, when he feels like he’s missing family. They’ve spent holidays together when most of the other members have returned to their families, and Azuma has gone with Sakuya to visit his parents’ grave. They’ve even talked the what-ifs of being family -a thought experiment sprung forth one night from their roles in their latest play- and it’s Azuma’s words that night that have seared this crazy idea into Sakuya’s heart: It would be nice if we were family.
They were just words, Sakuya knows, but he couldn’t help but feel the same, and on this night many months later, he desperately hopes those words are true. He wishes, prays to all the gods he knows the names of, that this goes over well, and his hands turn white as Azuma picks up the final box from the table.
“Breathe, Sakuya,” Hisoka mumbles, eyes peeking open as he sits up from leaning on the younger man. “It’ll be ok.”
Sakuya only nods in response, returning Azuma’s smile as he reads the attached card, though it feels fake upon his lips, as though someone else is performing the action. He misses the camera Izumi’s pulled out. And then the sound of crinkling paper meets his ears and Sakuya struggles to refrain from lunging across the room and tearing the packet out from Azuma’s hands, claiming everything was false. He had labeled the items 1 and 2, though he wonders if it would’ve been better to have Azuma open the backup gift first. His thumbs twiddle as he watches the older man open the first packet, but it’s his gasp that has him finally meeting his eyes. Sakuya can see the tears forming and he all but launches himself to hug Azuma when he hears him ask:
“Do you really mean it?”
Sakuya and Azuma both cry. A lot. The whole company is happy for them and they begin festivities anew
Not being sure if Azuma would accept, Sakuya hadn’t told his family yet. Azuma goes with him and though it’s uncomfortable and a bit dramatic, the end result’s a success for them
Sakuya and Azuma finally spend New Year’s happily with family
When Azuma takes Sakuya to visit his family’s graves, Sakuya shows the utmost respect
He introduces himself and refers to Azuma’s parents and older brother as “Grandparents” and “Uncle”
He thanks them for giving birth to Azuma and tells them about how amazing Azuma is and how proud he is to be able to officially call him “Father”
He asks that they kindly look upon him as a grandchild and nephew, and that he will do his best to uphold the Yukishiro name
Azuma sobs

4th Anniversary The Key to Daydreaming: Secret Key - Event Translation
Aye~ I have nothing to say, but if you would have realized, the event is divided into a few parts. The first part will be these 2 chapters called Secret Key, followed by Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter story, followed by the so called epilogue. Following this though, I will be translating in random order (actually based on which troupe I like most first *cough cough*). But yeah, unless other translators pick it up, I will slowly do these per troupes. Also, remember that the event story is voiced in the game, so you can listen while reading my translation for better experience.
Without further ado, Happy 4th Anniversary to A3! and enjoy~
4th Anniversary The Key to Daydreaming: Secret Key / / Spring’s Door / / Autumn’s Door / / Winter’s Door / / Opening the Future Door with You
TN: The direct translation of the event title is supposed to be ‘Your Voice that Opened the Door’ but I decided to use the actual title since it’s given in the event title.
Disclaimer:
A3! is owned by Liber’s Entertainment
Secret Key
Tsumugi:
Eh, everyone’s already gathered here.
Tenma:
That’s fast.
Banri:
We set it at 1pm though.
Sakuya:
We somehow gathered 20 minutes earlier than expected.
Tsumugi:
I thought I could take a look at the flowerbed first, that’s why I came earlier.
Tenma:
I was thinking of reading scripts in the courtyard.
Banri:
I was just taking a little break.
Sakuya:
Me too. The weather looks good, I was thinking of just relaxing on the bench.
Tenma:
Well, let’s wait until Director is here then.
Tsumugi:
Right.
Banri:
By the way, Sakyo-san said that he will replace old equipment, so we should list up the stuffs that we need.
Tenma:
Even if we list it up, I have a feeling that they’ll end up getting rejected.
Tsumugi:
Sounds like he will check it thoroughly.
Banri:
Well, there’s no doubt that he will bizzarely sieve the list.
Sakuya:
Speaking of equipment, it seems like a lot of chairs in the rehearsal hall are infested by moths…
Tsumugi:
The bench in the courtyard is also quite old, it’s getting dangerous.
Tenma:
If you say so, the sofa in the lounge is getting too flat as well.
Banri:
If it’s the lounge, I kinda want a projector.
Sakuya:
Projector?
Banri:
We have a lot of people, moreover we’re all guys, it’s so suffocating to gather just for everyone to look at that one small television.
Sakuya:
True that… It’s always a struggle to get in front of the television.
Tsumugi:
Yeah, I’m kinda troubled, it’s hard to watch even reference videos…
Tenma:
If we have a projector, everyone would be able to see, it sounds great.
Banri:
Right?
Tenma:
But, will Sakyo-san even say ok to that?
Sakuya:
It might be impossible…
Tsumugi:
Sounds like he would tell us to bring it up again after the television broke.
Banri:
After it’s broken huh…
Sakuya:
Eh!?
Tenma:
You’ll get found out immediately.
Banri:
Tch.
<Short Time Skip>
Sakuya:
This should be more or less all of the things we need.
Banri:
We managed to squeeze a lot of stuffs there, I wonder if we can pass about 80% of them.
Tenma:
Right, Tsumugi-san, are you sure it’s alright not to ask anything for your gardening?
Tsumugi:
Yeah…
Ah, speaking of which, I found something interesting recently.
Umm, I saved it last time…
Eh? I wonder where it is.
Tenma:
Save? Like a screenshot?
Banri:
If you’re looking for your bookmark, it’s over there.
Tsumugi:
Ah, let’s see…
Oh, it’s here, look at this.
Sakuya:
“Mix Flower Box”?
Tsumugi:
It seems to be a box of assorted seeds, there are a lot of different seeds inside, but we won’t know until it blooms so you can look forward for the seeds to bloom.
Tenma:
Oh, sounds interesting.
Tsumugi:
There was a time when Citron-kun bought a seed that he didn’t know what kind of flower will bloom…
Before the flower blooms, I feel the excitement every day, like opening an unknown treasure chest. I thought it was good.
Sakuya:
That feeling, I feel that I can understand…
For me, the days I spend in this theatre troupe feels exactly like that.
Something unpredictable happens everyday, it’s so exciting, and in the end, they will become treasurable memories.
Tenma:
That’s true, life here’s pretty unpredictable.
Banri:
There’s just too many guys who have nothing to do.
Tsumugi:
You’re right. Everyday’s an exciting one.
Tenma:
Director too, I wonder how she can deal with all the members with these quirks.
Banri:
Well, it was the members that she gathered in the first place.
Sakuya:
Haha, you’re right.
But, I think it’s thanks to Director too that we can live like this everyday.
Tsumugi:
Speaking of which, it’s already 1pm now…
Director’s late.
Banri:
--Ah, a LIME message.
She said she got held back at work and she wants to do the leader’s meeting on another day.
Tsumugi:
Director seems pretty busy recently.
Tenma:
Fleur Award requires a lot of recognitions and connections, it seems that she’s trying to get us to appear in a lot of performances.
Banri:
We have to be able to live up to Director-chan’s expectation as well.
Sakuya:
You’re right. I definitely want to win the Fleur Award.
Manager:
Oh, why are you guys gossiping about Director in this kind of place~?
I guess when you’re with each other for a long time, there would be a lot of things to say huh~ I see I see.
Banri:
No, it’s not even close.
Manager:
It’s fine! I’ll definitely not tell anyone!
Tenma:
Don’t say as if we’re badmouthing her!
Tsumugi:
We were talking about how Director is very busy nowadays for the sake of our theatre troupe.
Sakuya:
We also have to try our best for Director’s sake.
Manager:
I see…!
If that’s the case, that’s the perfect topic…
Sakuya:
Eh?
Manager:
There’s a bit of an issue over here…
<End of Chapter 1>
Tenma:
Ugh, who would have thought that we would end up organizing the warehouse again…?
Banri:
It’s a chaos as per usual.
Sakuya:
I feel that I’ve just cleaned up recently though…
Tsumugi:
I wonder where all these stuffs came out from.
Manager:
Actually, I was looking for something, so it gets a bit messy here…
Banri:
It’s not just a bit.
Tenma:
What are you looking for?
Manager:
You see, one of the condition for the act off with the first generation was the rehearsal video of the first generation that Mr Kamikizaka asked for.
I was asked by Director to find it, and I’ve been forge—I mean, I can’t find it alone.
Sakuya:
So you forgot about it…
Banri:
It’s troublesome so you leave it alone, then you ended up forgetting huh.
Manager:
We, well, let’s leave it at that! For the sake of our Director who has worked hard, I need everyone’s help!
Tenma:
Is that how you’re supposed to convince us.
Banri:
There’s no other choice.
Tsumugi:
If it’s for Director, I do want to try looking for a bit.
Sakuya:
Let’s do our best to find it!
Manager:
Thank you so much!
The first generation’s stuffs are at the back.
Tenma:
Oi, by behind you mean…
Banri:
How are we supposed to get behind this pile of stuff.
Tsumugi:
I guess for now, let’s clean up from the stuffs that we can reach.
Tenma:
I wonder when the storage will finally be cleaned…
<Short Time Skip>
Sakuya:
It’s not here…
Banri:
If we can’t find it after this much searching, I bet it’s kept somewhere else.
Manager:
That’s weird~…
I’m sure, I put it in this storage room somewhere…
If it’s not here, is it in that warehouse, or maybe it’s in that shelf…
Tenma:
You’re too vague!
Manager:
I’ll go take a look at the warehouse over there!
Banri:
Sigh, can we even find it.
Tsumugi:
Eh, isn’t this a projector?
Banri:
Oh, it’s a bit old, but it’s a pretty good one.
Sakuya:
So we also have this kind of thing here.
Banri:
Sakyo-san doesn’t seem to know about this too.
When I have a screening last time, I was still wondering whether I need to rent it or not.
Tenma:
Rather than that, what should we do with the search now?
Should we try looking at different place?
Tsumugi:
You’re right.
We’ve already searched here--
Sakuya:
Ah! It’s here! I found it!
It’s at the most back, there’s a cardboard box with documentary written on it. Isn’t this the one?
Banri:
When he said the back, does it really need to be the most back.
Tsumugi:
It seems that there are a few videos of their past performances and practices here.
Tenma:
For now, I’m glad we managed to find it safely.
Banri:
Hmm? What’s this box.
Tsumugi:
It’s locked.
Banri:
It’s a dial-type lock huh.
I wonder if there’s something precious locked inside?
Tenma:
It looks like Hakkaku-san’s treasure box.
Sakuya:
I feel kinda excited somehow.
Tsumugi:
Ah, there’s a memo pasted there.
Tenma:
“One day, surely—”
What is it about?
Tsumugi:
It’s the hint about the lock maybe.
Banri:
‘One day surely’ huh.
It doesn’t feel like a code.
Tsumugi:
How about taking the words literally?
‘One day surely’… Maybe it’s about something that was unreachable in the past.
Sakuya:
Something that the first generation didn’t get to reach is--
Tenma:
There’s only one thing that came to mind.
Banri:
It’s this isn’t it.
“FLEUR”
Sakuya:
It’s opened!
Tsumugi:
Inside is… Another treasure box?
Banri:
Is it a matoryoshka or something.
Tenma:
This box doesn’t seem to be locked though.
Sakuya:
Is the content another treasure box?
Tenma:
No, it’s a key and a video tape.
Manager:
I’m sorry, I was trying to find it in the warehouse over the—
Eh? You found it?
Banri:
It’s here, but there’s also a weird box inside.
Manager:
Ah! That is--
<Time Skip>
Director:
(It’s finally my day off after a long while, what should I do today I wonder.
*LIME ping*
--It’s from manager)
<LIME starts>
Manager:
I managed to find the first generation practice video that you asked for!
Director:
Eh!? Really!?
Manager:
I left tape on the table in the courtyard, please take it later.
<LIME ends>
Director:
(Courtyard?)
<LIME starts>
Manager:
I’ll leave it up to you~
Director:
Understood.
<LIME ends>
Director:
(Why is it the courtyard though…?
Well, it’s fine.
I’m here anyway, I kinda want to see it soon, let’s go get it now)
<Shifts to Courtyard>
Director:
Hmm…
Ah, it’s here.
(Eh? There’s a key placed here… Whose key is it?
There’s no keyholder though, I have no idea what key is this…)
Manager:
Ah, Director~
So you found the tape~?
Director:
Yeah, it’s here.
Thank you so much.
Then, there’s this key that’s placed with it, do you know who it belongs to?
Manager:
E, eh~!? A key you say~?
Hmm, I have no idea at all~
Director:
(He sounds a bit too monotone somehow…)
Manager:
If it’s an important key, someone might be troubled out there, why don’t you go check the room one by one and see how they’re doing~?
Director:
Eh? I don’t need to do that, I’ll check with everyone through LIME--
Manager:
It might be a key to a secret room that they don’t want other people to find out about you know!?
Director:
(What kind of room is that even…
Well, there are some people doing errands now, it’s true that a key is something private as well, I guess I’ll go and hear from them directly.)
Then, I’ll be going.
Manager:
Have fun~!
Director:
(Which room should I start with--)

Tsuzuru Minagi SSR ( MANKAI Glitter )
Read full translation under the cut~!
Story Title: “To ARIES: Tsuzuru”
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ PART 1 ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Izumi: Tsuzuru-kun, thank you for shopping with me. Tsuzuru: No worries. I don't have anything to do anyway. Izumi: Thank you for helping me carry the bags. I'm glad I was able to buy lots of stuff on sale! Tsuzuru: Well, I can't let the director carry these huge amounts of bags all alone. Cakeshop Employee: Welcome~! Freshly-baked cakes are on the racks! Izumi: Woah, the cake looks delicious. Tsuzuru: Indeed, they look delicious. Izumi: Hmm.... I want to buy one to take home but we're carrying lots of bags already. Maybe, I'll just get it next time. Tsuzuru: Certainly, both our hands are full. Izumi: All of them look super delicious. The whole cake is splendid. Speaking of, Tsuzuru-kun, your birthday is coming soon, right? Tsuzuru: Yes. I'm glad you remembered. Izumi: There's no way I'll forget about it! Tsuzuru: I was told to pick a place I wanted to visit with everyone in the Spring Troupe for my birthday but I still can't come up with anything. Izumi: How about going somewhere you wouldn't normally visit? Tsuzuru: Indeed...Hmm... Misumi: Ah! Director-san, Tsuzuru~! Izumi: Misumi-kun, what are you doing here? Misumi: I'm looking around with this kitty today. It's a newbie I recently became friends with! Cat: Nya~n. Tsuzuru: Woah? Izumi: It's rubbing Tsuzuru-kun's feet! Misumi: Seems like the kitty's taken a liking to Tsuzuru~ Tsuzuru: Is that so? Cat: Nya~wn. Misumi: Tsuzuru, the kitty wants you to pet them. Tsuzuru: Eh? Like this? Cat: Purrrr.... Izumi: Ahaha, the cat is purring. Misumi: Tsuzuru, you're doing great! Tsuzuru: I didn't have many opportunities to interact with animals like this. It's small and cute. Izumi: I heard that animals can recognize people who like them. Misumi: I see~ That's why it's friendly with Tsuzuru! Cat: Nya~! Izumi: Ahaha, it's responding.
Izumi: Ah, they're featuring a cat cafe on TV. Sakuya: They’re soooo cute, aren’t they? Citron: Animals are amazing! I am healed~! Tsuzuru: ........ Citron: You think so too, Tsuzuru, right? Tsuzuru: Eh? Well, yeah.... Citron: I'm dying to see Juliano! Tsuzuru: Juliano is indeed a cat but he's on an entirely different level. But I agree, cat cafes seem to give a sense of healing. Izumi: Tsuzuru got along with a cat today. Sakuya: Is that so? Izumi: The cat was introduced by Misumi-kun. Citron: That’s it! I came up with a good idea! ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ PART 2 ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Citron: Fufufu…Let’s celebrate Tsuzuru’s birthday in a cat cafe! Tsuzuru: Cat cafe!? Sakuya: Sounds great! Tsuzuru: I mean, It’s interesting but…. Citron: Tsuzuru, it will take you forever to decide if you don’t do it now. Izumi: Well, you have a point…. Citron: In such circumstances, I shall decide in your stead. Tsuzuru: Don’t force things on me! Sakuya: What do you think, Tsuzuru-kun? Tsuzuru: …….
Sakuya: Ahaha, come here.
Citron: Oh~! The kitty climbed on my shoulder!
Itaru: Look, it’s over here. Now, here. Haha, it’s punching the cat toy relentlessly. Masumi: ….You, get off from the director’s lap. Citron: Masumi is jellos of a cat! Tsuzuru: You mean, jealous? Izumi: Ahaha…. Itaru: Senpai, why are you secluding yourself over there? Come here. Join us. Chikage: No, thanks. I’m still drinking my coffee so I’ll just watch from here. Itaru: You look calm outside but absolutely despise it deep inside. Chikage: Then don’t ask if you already know the answer. Tsuzuru: Chikage-san, I’m sorry for making you join us even though you’re not good with animals. Chikage: Well, I can’t help it. Everyone wants to come here so badly. Besides, it’s Tsuzuru’s birthday celebration. Please enjoy yourself. Don’t worry about me. Tsuzuru: Your smile is scaring me. Izumi: The cats don’t really come close to Chikage-san, do they? Itaru: Isn’t it because he’s emitting an ominous aura? Citron: The kitties can feel it! Chikage: At least these cats can read the atmosphere better than Chigasaki. Sakuya: Meanwhile, the cats are all over Tsuzuru-kun!
Choice 1: “He’s very popular” Izumi: Tsuzuru-kun is very popular. Citron: What a heartthrob! Tsuzuru: Well, I don’t hate it. Sakuya: How nice~! I want to be surrounded like that too! Chikage: I don’t think his situation is enviable. Izumi: I feel like we just discovered Tsuzuru’s hidden talent. Tsuzuru: Is being popular with cats a talent? Citron: Tsuzuru can be a cat tamer! Itaru: Oh, that job sounds fun. Sakuya: I wonder if the cats from all over the town will come to you when you walk down the streets? Tsuzuru: That’s kind of scary though….
Choice 2: “Tsuzuru-kun is surrounded by cats” Izumi: Tsuzuru-kun is surrounded by cats….. Itaru: Are you sure it’s not because Tsuzuru-kun smells like catnip? Tsuzuru: I doubt that is the reason. Izumi: But it seems like they like you as much as they like catnips. Citron: The cats are looking at Tsuzuru as if they were entranced by him! Chikage: I won’t be able to last for 5 seconds. Itaru: You’ve got nothing to worry about. Cats don’t bother to approach you, senpai. You’ll be fine. Cat: Nya-. Izumi: The cats are rubbing on Tsuzuru-kun! Citron: There’s no doubt about it! Tsuzuru is the reincarnation of a catnip! Tsuzuru: Like hell I am!—
Izumi: Phew~ I am healed!
Masumi: I want to lie on your lap. Hey, pet me. Itaru: Stop it. Stop it. Chikage: Thank you, Tsuzuru. It was a good learning experience for me. Sakuya: Ah, right…. Tsuzuru-kun, have you decided what to wish for on the Celestial Sphere? Tsuzuru: Come to think of it, I have to do that too….. I can’t come up with anything at all. Citron: Tsuzuru, you have to make a wish. Look, the Celestial Sphere is right here. Izumi: I didn’t notice at all!? Chikage: Where in the world did you pull that out from? Tsuzuru: Hmm…Let’s see. If anything…I want to keep a pet. Itaru: What an average wish to make on the Celestial Sphere. Tsuzuru: When we went to the cat cafe today, I realized how it feels like to be healed again. Citron: So Kamekichi is not powerful enough. Chikage: You consider “that” a pet? Izumi: Kind of? Masumi: Your presence is more than enough to heal me. Itaru: Makes sense. Tsuzuru was so popular at the cat cafe today after all. Tsuzuru: What’s so wrong with that? Anyone is free to make any wishes they want! Izumi: If Tsuzuru-kun truly wishes for it, I think anything’s fine. Why not make that wish on the Celestial Sphere? Tsuzuru: …..Alright. Then— ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ PART 3 ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Tsuzuru: Fuah….. Masumi…? What are you doing….. ???: ……
Tsuzuru: Ha?! Why is there a deer in my room….? Masumi?: …..What are you mumbling about? Tsuzuru: That voice….Masumi? No, no, no… There’s no way it’s possible. Masumi?: What now? Tsuzuru: But that voice…. ….Are you Masumi? Masumi: I am. Got a problem with that? Tsuzuru: ( W-what in the world is happening!?) ( I have to let everyone know…)
Citron?: Oh–! Good morning, Tsuzuru! Tsuzuru: Citron-san, you won’t believe me but Masumi is…! Citron?: What happened to Masumi?
Tsuzuru: !? An A-alpaca!? Sakuya?: Ah, Tsuzuru-kun. Good morning. Chikage?: You woke up pretty late today.
Tsuzuru: W…..Why does everyone look like that? Sakuya?: What are you talking about? Citron?: Our appearance is completely normal. Tsuzuru: There’s definitely nothing normal about your appearance right now! Itaru?: That aside, I’m hungry. Tsuzuru is in charge of today’s breakfast.
Tsuzuru: Eh!? Breakfast!? ( What should I prepare though…? Perhaps, grass or something similar ….!?) Itaru?: Crap, I’m running late to work. Chikage?: Speaking of, you have a morning meeting today. Tsuzuru: Are you going to work? Itaru?: Of course. Don’t look down on a salaryman. Sakuya?: Ah, should I help you out? Citron?: I want a sunny side up for breakfast! Tsuzuru: Rather ….. how did I end up in this kind of situation in the first place!
Tsuzuru: ….!
Masumi: What do you want? Tsuzuru: He’s not a deer…. Masumi: Deer? What are you talking about? Tsuzuru: Don’t mind me…. ( Was it a dream….? Why would I dream about that of all things…?) ( I suppose it’s because I made a wish to the Celestial Sphere about wanting to keep a pet….) ( But still…. That dream felt so real) …… Masumi: What now? Do I have something on my face? Tsuzuru: It’s not like that…. I was just relieved that Masumi is still Masumi. Masumi: Ha? You’re not making any sense at all.
NOTES:
1) The cat’s gender isn’t specified and Misumi’s the one saying it, I preferred to use 'them' instead of 'it'. 2)Citron originally refers to “ たしがプロデユースするね" or “I shall produce. “ In a nuance of deciding for Tsuzuru since Tsuzuru can’t come up with anything. 3) Citron refers to “モチ焼” mochi-yaki (grilled mochi) instead of yakimochi (jealous).

Note
hello! i've recently stumbled across your works and i really love your characterization and writing uwu if it's not too much, is it okay for me to request for a scenario where some actors accidentally found out that their director is actually good dancer? like maybe somebody was watching tv and 'hey doesn't that backup dancer look familiar?' ((you can decide on whoever finds out about it and you can also choose to use izumi's name or just write mc)) AAAA thank you very much! ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡
Thank you, dear! 💕 I feel so happy when I read I you guys like it. Sometimes it gets difficult to not fall into OOC!
I opted to choose Izumi, mainly because I don’t think I’ve written anything with her even though I love her so much! As for the actors, well, couldn’t decided wich one so everyone is making an appearance.
Hope you like it! 💕
The dorm discovering Izumi’s dancing skills
“Tenma, hurryyyyy”
“Yeah, yeah... Uh? Hey, who didn’t wash their dishes this morning, it stinks!” the summer leader complained outloud, leaving the kitchen with Misumi with the last chopsticks and glasses to place on the lounge.
Tsuzuru entered and looked at the sink, frowning. Indeed, it smelled awful. He walked towards the couches to get the culprit.
“Itaru-san, don’t ask me why, but I know whatever that was in that plate was yours. Please clean it right now”
“Oh shit, my shield fell”
The man in question was laying next to Kazunari and Banri, all of them most likely playing a battle game, judging by the way they were staring intensely at their phones.
“Itaru-san!”
“Yes, yes, one minute…”
“Dang, Itaroon! You can’t pull something like that to win, I don’t have any more resources!”
Omi put a hand on Tsuzuru’s shoulder when he saw the scriptwriter was about to start scolding them “It’s okay Tsuzuru, we have enough plates. Itaru-san can clean later so dinner doesn’t get cold”
At that moment Juza, Taichi, Muku and Sakuya arrived.
“Ah, Omi-san! After Tenma-kun and Misumi-san finish the table will be set” the cheerily the spring leader informed approaching them.
“At least we get things done quickly, having so many people at Mankai” Tsuzuru smiled tired but gratefully at the four of them “…although it would be quicker if others offered to help from time to time” he looked at the gaming group and a certain pair watching TV.
“Tsuzuru, this program is too important to sip!”
“You mean to skip? Also, I truly don’t think so. That’s one old program you’re watching” he looked around resting his hands on his hips. No one had moved an inch “That indirect was also to the rest of you, you know”
“Noted”
“Aha”
“So you want me to set the table instead of trying to come up for ideas with customes? Fine by me”
Misumi and Tenma entered before an argument could take place “Table’s set. Someone should call Masumi, Sakyo-san and the winter troupe. They were in the practice room with director, right?”
As if by pure summoning, the last spring member arrived, taking off his headphones “…I’m here”
“We are here too!” Tsumugi waved as the rest of the winter troupe entered talking to each other. Their play schedule had been decided and they had had a run through while Izumi and Sakyo discussed the final details for the performance.
“Okay then everyone, time to dig in!”
…………………………..
Everyone sat on their chairs and started moving plates around and refilling glasses with drinks. It wasn’t often, due to the difference in schedules, but some nights the whole dorm got together and opted to eat at the same time. It was a bit of a mess but in the end, everyone had fun.
Citron was still watching silently the TV when he paused it, concerned. Getting up, he headed to the dinner table as everyone ate and talked “Director?”
Izumi looked up, stopping herself from grabbing the delicious tonkatsu in front of her “You called, Citron? Ah, leave the TV and sit, come on. Omi’s food will get cold!” she motioned the chair that was empty.
He did as told, but kept his eyes locked on her “Director I must ask you an important question”
“Uh… ok?”
He nodded as his chopsticks grabbed some rice “Are you maybe a twist?”
Everyone turned to him, confused, but not surprised. The young woman found herself blinking in confusion too “…Twist?”
Masumi nodded in agreement “You can twist my heart anytime you want”
No one even tried to contradict the young boy, still trying to decipher Citron’s meaning.
“I don’t think Citron means twist”
“…Twix”
“Yeah Hyodo sure, Citron meant Twix. I swear your brain is a fucking sugar cube”
“You are sweet like a twix to me, director”
“Ugh, someone tell the Psycho Stalker off”
“Y-yuki-kun!”
“Citron, I don’t think your phrasing is right” Tsumugi laughed as he saw everyone starting to debate.
The foreigner crossed his arms, deep his thought “Mmm… this word is meant to be a clone… of another person! Is it close enough, Tsumugi?”
“C-clone?!” Taichi looked up from his seat, eyes wide open “Director has a clone?!”
“Guys, come on...”
“Mhm… I might be wrong, but maybe Citron meant if our dear director has a twin?”
Citron gasped “Twin, yes! Azuma’s wisdom is as always precise!”
The winter member received the compliment from the blond with a soft laugh as the rest frowned. Sakuya raised his hand from the other side of the table “U-Um! Why do you say that, Citron-san?”
“You have sisters?” Tasuku raised his eyebrows at Izumi.
“Of course not! I’m an only child”
“But that cannot be. I saw you with my two very eyes!”
“Me?”
He nodded seriously, getting up from the chair and turning on the TV again “I will demonstrate now, the director’s clone!”
Izumi sighed. Why couldn’t they have a normal night? Just for once. It was weekday for christ’s sake. The sudden gasps and exclamations brought her back to reality.
“It really looks like Izumi-san!”
“She looks younger though, is it really her?”
“Waaah, director you are moving so beautifully!”
“Wait, seriously?”
Izumi got up and approached the TV screen, concerned for the amount of attention it was getting “Come on, how can I-“
“That is you, isn’t it?” Sakyo pointed the TV with his head.
As everyone came to the realization that it was indeed Izumi. the woman in question stood there, watching her younger self.
“Oh, you meant that!” she sat on the arm of the couch, forgetting dinner and the fact that everybody was still trying to make sense of it. Their director? In TV? “It’s not been that long but... ” she laughed “Might be the one and only time I made it for a play in a performance, come to think of it!”
Kazunari, who was at that point recording the whole situation, turned his phone towards her in awe “I am beyond SHOCK, director! What play? How come we didn’t know you danced so well? Any declarations?”
She pushed the phone away from her, laughing “I did my studies and entered in the dancing club from my university for a change of peace”
“But this amazing choreography? The moves? Not to mention you are totes on TV!”
She looked back at the TV and a smiled appeared. Competing in friendly dancing competitions had been nice at the time “That program shows musicals, right? My university dancing club just happened to want to enter the competition and we decided to do a mute dancing play trying to tell a story without speaking. Forgot it had been recorded then”
Everyone stopped talking and looked at each other.
“…Oh”
“That’s right”
“Director had another life before Mankai…”
“Feels weird to think about it”
Izumi blinked confused. Of course, she had tried to make a life outside of acting! It had been rough, but she had had to come to terms with herself that she had to move on, at the time.
“Ey, ey, director let’s dance too!” Misumi grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to the courtyard. She found herself stumbling to keep up.
“W-whoah, Misumi-kun, we haven’t finished eating!”
He laughed releasing her as he tried to copy what they all had watched “That looked fun! What other dances did you do?”
Izumi laughed at his excitment.
“Well, there was nothing specific…?” she listed a few songs on the top of her head. The rest of the dorm gathered around the frames of the courtyard, watching curiously.
“I also want to see director’s dancing!”
“Anyone has a phone?”
“On it~”
“Enough! Why are you…” Sakyo came out too, ready to start scolding when one of the songs mentioned before started playing and saw Izumi’s bright face.
It was as if some kind of adrenaline had been injected into her, enough to make her body start moving along the music, not a single movement being wasted.
It had been a while.
………………………………
“Oh my, such a stunning view… the turning of grand jetes! If this moment was to be engraved…”
Hisoka frowned next to him “Arisu… you’re too loud. Can’t enjoy it”
“Director… is really good!” Sakuya was practically beaming as he watched Izumi moving around “She looks like a fairy!”
No one there disagreed. Her movements flowed, taking away the breath of every person in that familiar audience. Izumi had never been able to act well, but somehow her dancing expressed more than she could in a play.
Omi smiled at the view and crossed his arms “A pity I left the camera in my room” he looked at his left and saw how Sakyo looked at her.
The blond’s eyes followed her figure entranced, not moving an inch.
A few minutes later, Izumi stopped, breathing heavily after song. She looked up, greeted by a big amount of applause. Were those claps for her? Her cheeks grew hot. She didn’t remember last time she got an applause and smiled bashfully.
“Fufu that was wonderful, Izumi-san”
“Epic. I think I just fell in love all over again, director! Gonna need to post the clip on my instablam!”
“Not bad. I guess currian has another thing she’s good at, uh”
“Well, if we ever have a dancing play, now we know who to ask for notes, isn’t that right, Tsuzuru?”
Taichi gasped in excitement looking at the scriptwriter “Oh man, I definitely want to do a dancing play now, girls would love it!”
Of course, as theatre fanatics as they were, the conversation headed into their future performances.
“Maybe like a musical?”
“But dancing as you act is…”
“I want to do a triangle dance in our play!”
Izumi laughed, gaining everyone’s attention “Okay, okay, this is enough. Let’s go back and finish dinner. Can’t believe you all tricked me to dance in front of you, geez” she still felt her breath uneven from the workout.
“But you did look beautiful out there, director” Tsumugi smiled as he pushed a complaining Taichi and entranced Masumi inside.
Tasuku sighed as he watched everyone returning to their normal behaviors “Well, I guess we must thank you are more an acting addict than a dancer” he sent a small smile to Izumi, placing a hand on her shoulder and going inside to help the adults tame the youngest.
Izumi was about to follow when she heard Sakyo’s voice from behind “You danced well”
“Ah, Sakyo-san, thanks”
He dropped his eyes momentarily before looking at everyone going back to finish dinner inside “…Think you will miss it? Dancing like that”
Izumi lifted her head up and closed her eyes, enjoying the night’s breeze. She had set it aside for so long she hadn’t really been able to think about it.
Dancing to her was like turning back the clock, returning to a previous life that might have been good. However, she had always felt something was missing.
She smiled tenderly. Just thinking about everyone at the dorm made her heart go warm.
“It’s become a good memory to keep”
She tore her gaze away from the night sky to smile at him, assuring him that she was being honest to those words just said.
True. She had loved dancing, but theatre? Ah.
That was her life.

Ok, so I feel like Kazunari and Tenma also have a crush on Izumi. Are there any boys other than Masumi and Sakyo that like her? A lot of things are hinted
Anon, let me tell you, this game is a freaking reverse harem; therefore the only acceptable answer is that everyone is attracted to Izumi to some extent sksksksk
I can’t say about the rookies bc I don’t follow the JP server that closely, but this is my personal opinion on how each troupe views Izumi. Feel free to disagree! Also I’d like to clarify that this does not reflect who I ship Izumi with.
Mankai’s Relationships with Izumi:
Spring Troupe:
Sakuya Sakuma: Admires Izumi for her tenacity and passion for theater. Deeply grateful for the opportunity she created for him by keeping the Mankai company alive. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Masumi Usui: Does this boy even need an explanation. Infatuated with the director; probably sees something in Izumi that draws him to her, might have something to do with his family issues. Still an immature bb tho and probably doesn’t have a good grip on how romantic relationships are supposed to work. Nonetheless, the attraction is real. Verdict: Views Izumi romantically
Tsuzuru Minagi: More or less same as Sakuya. Although there have been some instances where Tsuzuru has made some comments about Izumi, they can be interpreted loosely - I personally view it as friendly flirting. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Itaru Chigasaki: I’m kinda iffy on this one. I think that the potential is there, but I don’t think that Itaru is ready to fully commit to a serious relationship. He’s appreciative of how Izumi understands the real him, and since their ages aren’t that far apart, he's comfortable around her. As such, he teasingly flirts with her because it’s in his personality. I realllyyyy want to say he views her romantically, but ultimately, I think a serious romance is far off from Itaru’s thoughts. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Citron: More or less same as Itaru. But he has the factor of being a foreigner. Like Itaru, I think the potential is there, but Citron is also has other things on his mind and isn’t looking for a serious relationship. The attraction is there, though! Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Summer Troupe:
Tenma Sumeragi: Yep, I agree! It’s strongly hinted that he has a crush on Izumi. This probably stems from the fact that she was the one who supported him when he was vulnerable, and helped him overcome his weaknesses. I don’t approve though bc age disparity. Verdict: Views Izumi romantically
Yuki Rurikawa: I can’t recall any shippy moments between them? I view their relationship as a platonic, sibling-like one. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Muku Sakisaka: He’s admitted that he thinks that Izumi is attractive but I think it’s more of a fact to him than an opinion, if you get what I mean? He like acknowledges that she is an attractive woman, but he himself is not romantically attracted to her. Heck, he ships her with other members. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Misumi Ikaruga: Also iffy for me. In general, Misumi is a very affectionate person. He definitely likes Izumi, so she is also subject to his affections. Are they romantic affections, though? I’m not so sure. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Kazunari Miyoshi: I definitely think he’s attracted to her. Not sure how deep it goes, but there have been multiple instances that hint that he likes Izumi. Izumi often shoots him down, but I do believe that his intentions are genuine - it’s just that his personality makes it seem like he isn’t, and he isn’t the type to let it affect him too much. Verdict: Views Izumi romantically
Autumn Troupe:
Banri Settsu: Yep! It’s also been strongly hinted that Banri is attracted to Izumi. In various backstage stories he’s been shown to be jealous of other members when they interact with Izumi, and he tries to show off in front of her. Verdict: Views Izumi romantically
Juza Hyodo: Mmmmm kinda iffy? Like some other members, he definitely holds a deep admiration and appreciation for Izumi due to the opportunity she gave them. But there are also some moments that make me think that he could possibly have a crush on her, but he hasn’t realized it yet. But ultimately, I don’t think so. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Taichi Nanao: More or less same as Tenma. Is more upfront about it though, similar to Kazunari. The age disparity, though, hmmmmm. Verdict: Views Izumi romantically
Omi Fushimi: Whether he realizes it or not, I think he is attracted to Izumi. Many of his backstories show him opening up to Izumi, being protective of her, complimenting her, etc. He’s also quite flirty with her, too. But idk, there’s this vibe that I get from him that makes it seem like he’s holding himself back? Anyway... Verdict: Views Izumi romantically
Sakyo Furuichi: The biggest simp of them all. ngl kinda hard to elaborate on this bc it’s so painfully obvious and it just makes sense. Definitely. Yes. Their history? Their interactions? *chef’s kiss* Verdict: Views Izumi romantically
Winter Troupe:
Tsumugi Tsukioka: My gut tells me yes! There are some backstories that hint at it - he becomes quite bashful and blushy around the director. There’s this one that I can’t quite remember clearly, but it had something to do with flower language and my heart was just - uwu. Verdict: Views Izumi romantically
Tasuku Takato: Too much of a theater junkie to focus on romantic relationships. I don’t even mean this in a joking manner - I vaguely remember Tasuku saying something about him being completely focused on his acting. That being said, he does like to playfully tease Izumi - it probably comes with being around the same age and living in close quarters - but yeah, nothing serious. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Hisoka Mikage: More or less like Citron, I think. The potential is there, but Hisoka has more pressing matters to focus on besides romance. He’s too deep in his own issues to actively pursue a romantic relationship. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Homare Arisugawa: Now, this may seem a bit controversial, but I personally believe that Homare is one of the least invested members in the company. For him, it’s another way to express his artistry. Yes, he does have meaningful relationships with the members of the company, but I feel like he’s one of the members that is least in it for the sake of passion for theater. Their relationship is more of a working/colleagues/friends one - I really don’t see the two in a romantic light. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically
Azuma Yukishiro: More or less same as Itaru, but with more angst. I think he’s attracted to Izumi. There is potential. But I feel like Azuma tends to distance himself from more serious relationships? He has personal issues that he needs to overcome first. But he does enjoy playfully teasing Izumi - the whole company, really - he just has a flirtatious nature in general. Verdict: Views Izumi platonically.
--
And those are my opinions! Feel free to share your thoughts!
Thanks for the ask, anon! This was really fun to think about and analyze. I think that this is kinda telling about how I go about writing my fics ahahaha so I hope you enjoyed the glimpse of my thought process.

Senribana Monogatari 2/11
Summary: Due to Citron’s work as the Zahran Minister of Culture and Arts there has been a surge in interest in foreign culture in Zahra. Prince Tangerine gives his brother a call, but it seems he has more on his mind than just an invitation..
Note: This event references a popular Japanese fairytale titled “The Story of the Old Man Who Made Withered Trees to Blossom”, I encourage you to read it here!
This is a 10 part story with an epilogue.
[part 1] [part 2] [part 3] [part 4] [part 5] [part 6] [part 7] [part 8] [part 9] [part 10]
Epilogue “The Story of the Old Man Who Made Withered Trees to Blossom”
Citron
Hello everyone, I have some great shoes!
Homare
Shoes, huh? Where?
Citron
WE’RE GOING TO PERFORM IN ZAHRA!
Izumi
WHAT!?
Citron
Tangerine told me that the interest in foreign culture has surged amongst the Zahran youths and has asked me for help promoting foreign culture.
And I thought the best way to do that would be to perform a play in Zahra!
Sakyo
I see.. A performance in Zahra you say? I had a feeling you would suggest that.
Citron
And I was just informed by Tangerine that the king has already approved of the plan!
Itaru
Wow, you guys get things done fast over there.
Sakyo
Hmm well we have already performed in Zahra. We held the encore performances for Winter Troupe’s opera and Spring Troupe’s Quartet there. I’m guessing this time will be different from the previous performances.
A performance officially endorsed by the Zahran royal family would certainly add to our already high prestige as an acting troupe.
Izumi
I couldn’t think of a more perfect idea!
Tenma
So you’re saying the royal family is really going to give us their official endorsement? Well then we can’t let ourselves flop. Wait and doesn’t that mean the contents of the performance would have to go through some close inspection first?
Banri
If we’re going to Zahra we should leave it to Spring and Winter since they have experience.
Tsumugi
Since you put it that way, maybe we should do a mixed performance.
Citron
I want to play the lead.
Izumi
I agree, Citron would be the ideal candidate to perform the lead in a play for the children of his home country.
Sakyo
And not to mention you’re quite popular over there.
Sakuya
I agree!
Tsuzuru
So then, Citron, what kind of play were you thinking?
Citron
Well.. When I think we should do something that captures the essence of Japan. Like.. KABUKI!
Izumi
Kabuki?
Citron
I want to teach the children of Zahra that their dreams can come true even in a different country!
Tsuzuru
That sounds nice. It seems like it will be a bit difficult to write such a play, but I am up for the challenge.
Yuki
The costumes will probably be a bit tough, but I’m excited.
Kazunari
Super vibing just thinking about these kabuki inspired costumes yoooo!!!
Tasuku
I know a bit about kabuki to a certain extent so I’m willing to help in any way I can.
Tsuzuru
Thanks.
Izumi
Now that we decided the theme of the performance, let’s decide who is going to be in it.
Sakuya
Me, I want to perform!
The Zahran people were so kind during our training camp so I am definitely interested in performing again for them in this mixed performance..
Citron
With Sakuya with us, we’ll be so strong!
Izumi
I see..
Tangerine
<< KABUKI!? I am sooo soooooo happy that you’re gonna perform over here! And on top of that you’re gonna do Kabuki! >>
Citron
<< I am glad to hear you’re excited, we’ll do our best. >>
Tangerine
<< Oh.. Are you going to invite Orange and Navel to the performance? >>
Citron
<< .. Hmm, well I guess I don’t mind them coming. >>
Tangerine
<< Got it. Alright so once we get the schedule and other details figured out I’ll give you a call. >>
Citron
<< Thanks. >>
Tangerine
<< Good luck on your practice! >>
Citron
<< Thank you. Talk to you soon. >>
..
Azuma
Isn’t it a little too early for flower viewing.
Guy has made some jasmine tea. How about we have a cup together?
Citron
Ohh looks delicious. Sure I’ll have a sip!
Azuma
Did you tell Prince Tangerine about our Kabuki play?
Citron
Yeah, he was really excited. Kabuki is pretty popular overseas.
Azuma
I guess it is all thanks to the prince that Japan has become popular over there.
Citron
We got so many people wanting to study abroad, soon enough we’re gonna have to form a Zahra Troupe at Mankai!
Azuma
Hmm, sounds fun.
.. And how are your other two brothers?
Citron
—
Azuma
Apologies if it is a sensitive topic.
Citron
Jason in the wall, Bloody Mary in the mirror, Citron behind you back. Azuma above your head.
Azuma
Fufu, that makes it sound like I’m some sort of ninja. I am not here to eavesdrop.
I don’t know that much Zahran so I couldn’t understand what you were saying. All I know is I heard those two names mentioned.
Citron
You got sharp ears.
Azuma
Fufu, I just think they have cute names.
Citron
Cute.. That’s not a word often used to describe those two.
Azuma ..
By the way, do you have sakura in Zahra?
Citron
No, we don’t. When I was younger I really wanted to see them so I looked up how I could grow them myself. Sadly the climate and maintenance for them is just not possible in Zahra.
But I didn’t want to give up so I planted some artificial sakura flowers in the garden.
Azuma
Oh, you really did love Japan.
Citron
At that time I don’t think I really knew I loved Japan, but I was engrossed in a particular Japanese picture book.
Azuma
Picture book?
Citron
It’s the one called “The Story of the Old Man Who Made Withered Trees to Blossom!”
Azuma
Oh, you’re talking about the old fairytale with Hanasaka Jiisan?
Citron
YEP!
It just goes to show you, no matter what absurdity happens, an honest man always gets his reward. So I worked hard, knowing that there was someone always watching over me.
Azuma
Do you think you ended up getting rewarded in the end?
Citron
All I can say is that I am thankful I believed in the story.
Azuma
Then I am sure you will be able to express your feelings through the play to the rest of the Zahran people.
Citron
.. I hope so.
To be continued.. Read part 3 here!

Note
Thank you for willingly being my new victim accepting and hope you enjoy the game!
How much, out of 10, are you of each spring troupe member?
Based on personality, beliefs, how you approach things, etc.
Have fun :3c!
>:3c
Sakuya: hmm I'd say a good 5/10. I get that feeling of never really fitting it with family and I am also a stubborn person when it comes to pushing myself too hard. Insomnia baby!
Tsuzuru: ooh, huh. Maybe 6/10. I like to write a lot and sometimes I struggle to write a word and other times I'm a damn machine just coming up with stories left and right. Again with the pushing myself teehee.
Itaru: YES I GET THIS MAN I WANT THOSE DAMN UR'S. 7/10 I get the gaming. I love video games so much. I understand the gacha pull sadness as well. :( They just hate me.
Masumi: 4/10. Don't get the obsessiveness but I understand the easy falling in love because of lack of love from family. I get crushes easily and a lot of the time, my crushes turn out to be horrible people unfortunately. I also love kawaii metal and some heavy metal is just a mood.
Citron: 6/10 man I get this guy. As a person who's not originally English, I get it. Especially from when I was young, I'd just started to grasp speaking my home language when we moved to England and I had to learn a whole other language being only 3 at the time. It can be really hard learning a new language, especially for the first time and I think citron actually does really well so I applaud him.
Chikage: cabbage man huh? I'd say 2/10 I guess? I get the whole "wanting revenge on someone who was once close to you because they hurt someone else close to you" thing but I wouldn't go as far as kidnapping. I also gave him an extra point for the glasses. We can be Harry potters together. I have circle glasses too.
So fun! Thank you!

A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 13: Budding Spring - Episode 16: My Allies
Izumi: That should be all the groceries.
Tsumugi: Ah, right… I ran out of fertilizer…
Izumi: Should we go to the florist?
Tsumugi: No, they’re kinda heavy. I’ll ask someone for help and go with them.
Izumi: Oh, speaking of florists, I often pass by a shop where a fan of ours lives—
Towa: …
Izumi: Hm? Towa-kun?
Towa: Ah…
Izumi: Are you okay? Do you feel bad?
[Towa’s stomach growls]
Towa: I wanna eat… rice…
[Towa collapses]
Izumi: Eh?
Tsumugi: … Did he just collapse?
-
Towa: Thank you for the meal!
Tsumugi: Looks like you were starving.
Izumi: But your aunt is that florist nearby, right? How did this happen…?
Towa: To be honest… I ran away from home.
Sakuya: You ran away!?
Sakyo: Reminds me of a certain someone.
Azami: There’s a bunch of guys like that here.
Kumon: Ahaha, that’s true~
Tenma: You’re one of them.
Izumi: Did something happen at home?
Towa: …
Masumi: If nothing happened, then go back home.
Sakuya: Now, now. The situation might be complicated.
Towa: … I’m sorry for all the fuss.
Towa: … I’ve always admired you all. I’ve always wanted to be someone who’s passionate about something.
Towa: I’ve done everything half-heartedly and without pushing myself all my life.
Sakuya: … Why?
Towa: … Because I didn’t want to disappoint myself.
Towa: I think I don’t want to try hard, fail and realize I’m useless.
Towa: I’ll feel embarrassed. It scares me. I think it'll kill me.
Towa: But when I saw the Spring Troupe’s, MANKAI Company’s performance, entirely by chance, I became obsessed with how bright everyone sparkles.
Towa: I thought to myself that I want to try hard like this, I want to sparkle and accomplish something.
Towa: But I just don’t know what that something is…
Towa: Anyway, I wanted to be close to where everyone is, so I changed schools and applied to Hanagaku last minute and came to Veludo Way.
Izumi: That’s why you’re here…!?
Banri: That’s pretty impressive. The standard deviation there’s pretty high.
Towa: I studied more than I had my entire life before that!
Sakuya: You’re really good at taking the initiative.
Masumi: You’re reckless.
Towa: Although I really wanted to be close to everyone here, there’s one more reason…
Towa: Everyone in my family spoils me, and they’re always ready to help me with anything and everything.
Towa: They always listen to my selfish requests, and my friends get jealous when I tell them, so I wondered if it was okay for me to stay that way…
Towa: No one argued when I changed schools.
Towa: They just told me to do what I wanted to do, and even found me a private tutor and a cram school.
Towa: They also asked my aunt to let me live with her.
Towa: My family is kind, and I love them, but I hate how spoiled I become when I’m with them. So I decided to leave.
Yuki: You’ve got guts.
Tsumugi: So they support your choices. That’s a good family you have.
Towa: But… It seems they thought I’d immediately go back home.
Towa: “It’s not like he has anything he really wants to do.”, “It’s unlikely he can make it on his own.”
Towa: When I heard my aunt and my mom have a conversation like that over the phone, I got mad and ran out.
Towa: … Everything they said was right, though. All I’ve got is my fixation, and I don’t have anything I actually want to do.
Towa: I can’t do anything by myself…
Sakuya: I don’t think that’s true.
Citron: You have already made it this far.
Chikage: You’ve even gotten into your beloved company’s kitchen.
Towa: Ah…
Itaru: You studied hard, got into Hanagaku, and stepped into your sacred place. Isn’t that proof enough?
Sakuya: I think it’s amazing that you’ve stepped into a whole new world all by yourself.
Itaru: There’s no need to rush. Everyone eventually finds what they want to do.
Tsumugi: I think Banri-kun knows that better than anyone.
Banri: This kinda thing’s got to do with your timing and, well, your connections. No point in rushin’ it.
Juza: Though, you were just tryin’ shit out on a whim.
Banri: Ahh?
Izumi: It’s not like you can’t do anything.
Izumi: If we hadn’t met you, we would’ve never thought of the workshop.
Towa: … Thank you very much. I’m sorry for troubling you.
Izumi: Your aunt is probably worried too, so contact her. Can you do it yourself?
Towa: Yes.
Towa: — Ah, I’m getting notifications from my chat.
shiki: contact us
Kar: don’t die
Iv: wanna come @ my place?
shiki: stay calm and don’t rush things!
Izumi: Chat?
Towa: A group chat I have with friends I met from a game called “Bloom Game”.
Towa: We talk about all sorts of things in BlooCha– the in-game chat.
Towa: We’ve never met, and we don’t know what each other looks like, but because of that we can talk about anything, and I feel like we’re always connected.
Towa: To me, that’s my home away from home.
Izumi: I see. Make sure you contact them too.
Towa: Okay.
-
Sakuya: Should I take you back home?
Towa: It’s okay. It’s pretty close, and my aunt said she’ll pick me up on the way.
Sakuya: I see. Be careful on your way home.
Citron: If you run away from home again, come here again!
Masumi: You don’t have to do that.
Tsuzuru: We have got to be the only place that welcomes runaways like it’s nothing. But I guess a place like that is good too.
Izumi: See you.
Towa: Thank you for everything! Good luck on your next performance! I’m looking forward to it!
[Towa walks away]
Tsuzuru: Our next performance, huh…
Itaru: We gotta face our problems head-on too, eventually.
Chikage: … That we do.
-
[Phone blips]
Sakuya: Ah… I have to cut this out and reply…
Sakuya: *sigh* Something that’s like us, huh…
Tenma: Does the next Romeo say lines like that?
Sakuya: Eh? Ah, no, he doesn’t.
Tenma: Seems like rehearsals aren’t going so smoothly.
Sakuya: … Yuzo-san watched our practice today.
Sakuya: He told us to think again what kind of plays the Spring Troupe does, and what the debut performance means to us.
Sakuya: We’ve gained lots of experience, but there’s something we lack compared to back then…
Sakuya: Even though, even our feelings are stronger than they were back then.
Tenma: So something’s missing, huh? There were a lot of those things in the original RomiJuli
Tenma: The acting was rough at best, and lots of parts would make you cringe, but still… I wonder what it was that made it so sparkling.
Tenma: All of you seemed to be enjoying the new world of theater you had just discovered with all your heart.
Sakuya: The new world…
Tenma: When I saw that, I was also drawn to it– it made me think it was time for me to leap into the world of theater, too.
Sakuya: When you praised RomiJuli after you joined, I was really happy.
Tenma: Come to think of it, you had to overcome lots of hurdles during the rehearsals for your debut, right?
Tenma: I had asked you how you did that during the Summer Troupe’s rehearsals.
Sakuya: I remember…
Sakuya: Back then, Yuzo-san had told us we don’t understand the first thing about theater—...
Sakuya: That’s it! Thank you, Tenma-kun! I’m going to get to know the stage one more time!
Tenma: — Sure.

Sakuya Sakuma | [SSR] Alighted Happiness | Image of a Future Family - Part 3
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3
Sakuya: Thanks for gathering here to hear my own personal request today.
Citron: What is going on?
Tsuzuru: What’s your request?
Sakuya: Actually… I want you all to perform with me as entertainment for my co-worker’s wedding reception.
Itaru: Perform as entertainment?
Sakuya: After hearing Reiko-sensei’s life story… I realized I wasn’t a stranger to her feelings and loneliness.
Masumi: …
Sakuya: That’s why I want to do a performance doing what Reiko-sensei wanted to do, but couldn’t.
Sakuya: And if I can, I want to help her make those things happen in her new home.
Sakuya: Sorry, I can’t think of anything super specific.
Chikage: …
Sakuya: I know this is a selfish request. But I want to do an etude… With everyone in my Spring Troupe family.
Spring Troupe: …
Sakuya: U-Um…
Citron: …Of course, we will, Sakuya.
Tsuzuru: How could we ever turn that down?
Chikage: You act like it’s a big deal. We’ll grant your wish no matter what.
Itaru: It’s a request from our family member, of course, we will. Right, Masumi?
Masumi: …Well, obviously I have to cooperate.
Sakuya: Thank you so much…!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Host: Next up is a co-worker of the bride, Sakuya Sakuma-san, with the entertainment. Please give him your attention!
*Applause*
Sakuya: My family is going to be joining me today. Reiko-sensei, everyone, please enjoy the show.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Itaru: Is the camera all ready to go?
Citron: It is perfect! A camera is a must-have for athletic events!
Chikage: Good lord, you’re taking up seats for the elderly.
Itaru: And I’m sure you’re just as happy seeing your grandson doing so well.
Citron: Ah, here’s he comes running!
Itaru: That’s my boy!
Tsuzuru: …Hup!
Chikage: Yes!
Tsuzuru: Haaah… Haaah… Yeah! First place!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Chikage: Okay then, who’s going to read from page 35, line 4, all the way to the end?
Masumi: I will. “The next day, the attendant--.”
Itaru: Ooh, he said it all by himself.
Citron: He was such a spoiled child, but he’s growing up to be so dependable…
Masumi: “...The elephant calmly climbed to the top of the mountain.”
Citron: How wonderful! He’s a genius at reading aloud! He’ll be the future prime minister!
Itaru: My son… He’s become so splendid… Uuuehu.
Masumi: Sigh… Stop crying at my class visit. It’s embarrassing, Mom and Dad…
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Sakuya: Hey, Grandpa, if I’m a good boy, will Santa come?
Chikage: I’m sure he will. If you’re a good boy and go to be soon, that is.
Sakuya: Okay! Ehehe, I’m so excited… Goodnight.
Chikage: Goodnight.
Sakuya: Zzz… Zzz…
Itaru & Citron: …
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Sakuya: …And that’s all. Thank you all for watching.
Bridegroom: It’s just daily life things, but it made me laugh, and smile, and it warmed my heart, but… Eh?
Reiko: …Uueghu… Hic…
Bridegroom: R-Reiko!?
Sakuya: Congratulations on your marriage, Reiko-san.
Sakuya: When you first watch it, the play just seems like the everyday life of an ordinary family--.
Sakuya: But I think that a normal day spent with your family is the happiest thing of all.
Sakuya: So I did this play with the hope that the two of you will stay close to each other like that… For a long time to come.
Sakuya: I wish you many, many years of happiness!
*Applause*
Reiko: Thank you, Thank you so, so much…!
Bridegroom: Absolutely, let’s be a good couple… And an even better family. Thank you so much for the wonderful play.
Reiko: You have a wonderful family, Sakuya-kun.
Sakuya: …Yeah.
Sakuya: I’m really proud of my family!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Official: The bride and groom will now be launching a stuffed animal with a parachute out of a cannon, so please clear the way, everyone!
Citron: A cannon!? That’s dangerous.
Itaru: It’s a parachute teddy bear. It’s a stuffed animal that gets tossed out instead of a bouquet toss.
Sakuya: …
Chikage: You’re pretty far in the corner, Sakuya. Don’t you want to move over there more?
Sakuya: I’m okay here.
*Wind blows*
Tsuzuru: Uwah, the wind…
Masumi: It’s coming this way.
Sakuya: Eh? Ah…!
*Teddy bear falls*
Citron: Oh! Nice hatch, Sakuya!
Masumi: Catch?
Sakuya: Umm, this…
Itaru: Sakuya really reels in the good luck.
Citron: Oh, and the bride is waving her hand to congratulate Sakuya!
Tsuzuru: I’m happy for you, Sakuya.
Sakuya: …Ehehe.

The translation is under the cut. If you see anything that doesn’t seem right, please let me know!

A Song from the Heart
1
Misumi: Who’s souvenir is this~? It’s a pretty triangle~
Izumi: Ah, that’s the perfume that we bought for Azuma.
Misumi: Cool~
Azuma: I’ll give it to you once it’s empty.
Misumi: Yay~!
Azuma: This has an unusual scent.
Kazunari: It smells so great! It’s SO Zafra!
Izumi: I was hoping you’d like it, but...
Azuma: I’ll use it. Thank you.
Izumi: And then for Sakyo-san, we were a little stumped, but we bought this.
Sakyo: A wallet?
Chikage: Zafran cloth is durable, so it won’t break even if you hoard 500-yen coins.
Sakyo: How did you know I’m collecting 500-yen coins?
Izumi: (So Sakyo-san’s saving up 500-yen coins...)
Tenma: How was Zafra? You did some sight-seeing too, right?
Sakuya: It was fun! Tsuzuru-kun’s older brother showed us around. We went to places like a suspicious antique store, a suspicious fortune-teller...
Tenma: They were all suspicious places?
Muku: There’s so many souvenirs too~!
Itaru: When you consider everyone, it ends up being a reasonable amount.
Taichi: I’m so jealous that you guys got to perform abroad!
Tsuzuru: Oh yeah, the Summer and Autumn Troupes haven’t been to Zafra yet.
Kumon: I wanna go someday!
Muku: Definitely!
Tenma: I want to try performing in a foreign country.
Kazunari: For sure!
Yuki: If we go, a place that’s not too hot, not too cold, safe, convenient, pretty, and reachable in less than five hours would be nice.
Tenma: Don’t be so unreasonable.
Citron: Everyone, this is big, so very huge!
Izumi: ? What’s wrong, Citron?
Citron: We have another performance!
Sakuya: Huh? A quartet performance?
Izumi: I didn’t hear anything about that, though.
Tsuzuru: Don’t tell me we’re going back to Zafra?
Citron: No, no! This performance is a festival performance!
Masumi: A festival performance...?
Itaru: By festival, you mean THAT festival?
Kazunari: What is it?? It sounds lit!
Citron: The Harugaoka Quartet has a performance in the Veludo Way Music Festival!
ーー
2
Sakuya: I haven’t touched an instrument in a while.
Tsuzuru: Me too, I haven’t opened the case since our performance ended.
Citron: Everybody went through the trouble to be able to play, so it will be a waste to let it rot away just like that~!
Citron: We must do a live performance!
Izumi: You guys certainly went through all the trouble to practice, so it could be a nice opportunity.
Itaru: Isn’t the performance this weekend?
Tsuzuru: Yeah.
Sakuya: Will we be able to play a song by then...?
Tsuzuru: Aside from Masumi, there’s no way.
Masumi: Then I’ll play alone. For you.
Izumi: In that case, the point would completely change!
Chikage: Tsuzuru and Sakuya can only play one part of “Spring,” so what will you do for the rest?
Itaru: I’ve got a sinking feeling you won’t survive your 10 minutes up there.
Citron: Worry not~ I will cover the rest with a solo!
Sakuya: What are you going to play?
Citron: We will undress my newly written piece!
Tsuzuru: Unveil(1), you mean. Wait, Citron-san, you can write music!?
Izumi: Amazing! You can even compose!
Citron: Well enough.
Itaru: Also, when did you...
Citron: I secretly wrote it during our performances!
Sakuya: What kind of piece is it?
Citron: Because I was supported by everyone in the Spring Troupe for this performance, I wrote it with gratitude thinking of everyone.
Izumi: Ooh~ I’m looking forward to it!
Masumi: I’ll write a love song dedicated to you too.
Tsuzuru: You don’t have time for that right now!
Masumi: I’ll manage somehow.
Chikage: The fact that he actually seems like he'll be able to manage it somehow is what's scary about Masumi.
Izumi: You can do that next time! For now, we need to get through the quartet part.
Masumi: ...got it.
Sakuya: I’ll do my best!
Citron: Starting today, we will do incentive chaining!
Itaru: Intensive training.(2)
Tsuzuru: This is gonna be harder than play practice...
ーー
3
Izumi: There’s always a lot of foot traffic on holidays, but there’s even more today!
Tsuzuru: Wow, surprisingly.
Itaru: Ah, there are food carts up too.
Chikage: I have to hit the food carts carrying super-spicy Asian food.
Tsuzuru: Glad the guys who aren’t performing are so care-free.
Izumi: Are you nervous, by chance?
Tsuzuru: I am. The atmosphere’s different from that of a theater stage, and this is the first time I’m doing something like a recital.
Itaru: There there.
Tsuzuru: Are you guys not!?
Sakuya: If we can do it like we did in practice, it’ll definitely be alright!
Izumi: You seem calm, Sakuya-kun.
Sakuya: I wouldn’t say I’m “calm” exactly, but I’m planning to play as if I were Yu Yoneda-kun.
Sakuya: That way, I’ll be able to stand on the stage feeling the same way that I do during our usual plays.
Tsuzuru: I get it.
Izumi: That’s a nice way of thinking.
Tsuzuru: I’ll try doing my best as if I were Katsumi Hino too.
Citron: Everyone, sphinx, sphinx~
Tsuzuru: You probably meant “relax,” but doesn’t that go beyond the scope of slip-ups!?
Masumi: It’s almost call time.
Izumi: Ah, we should get ready. Whose sheet music is this here?
Citron: It is mine~
Izumi: Huh? Is it fine for you to only have the quartet music? Where’s your solo?
Citron: When we were practicing in the training room this morning, it blew away in the wind~
Izumi: Eeh!? That’s bad! We have to look forー
Citron: I could not find it at all, so I gave up. I will play without the music.
Sakuya: You memorized the whole piece!? Amazing!
Citron: Honestly, I have a valkyrie.
Itaru: You mean a vague memory.(3)
Chikage: Will you be ok?
Masumi: So like we planned, I’ll play my love soー
Tsuzuru: No no no, that doesn't work either!
Citron: Worry not. Even if I do not remember the melody, the theme of the piece, everyone in the Spring Troupe, is always safe in my heart.
Citron: If I play what my heart wants to play, it will be ok!
Izumi: In Citron-kun’s heart...
Izumi: (Yeah, if everyone in the Spring Troupe can stay by his side, it’ll surely be fine.)
Host: Next up, the Spring Quartet!
Izumi: Everyone, break a leg up there!
ー
Citron: ...
Masumi: ...
Tsuzuru: ...
Sakuya: ...
Izumi: (Alright, they’re a little nervous, but they’re managing to play like they did in rehearsal.)
Izumi: (Citron-kun and Masumi-kun are leading, so the balance is good, and the harmonies are pretty...)
Citron: ...
Izumi: (Citron-kun’s solo part starts here.)
Izumi: (The first section is a warm tune arranged from the melody of “Spring”...)
Citron: ー
Sakuya: ?
Izumi: (Huh? Citron-kun turned to face Sakuya-kun.)
Izumi: (The tune changed. A lively and positive melody that feels like it’s bouncing... is this melody by any chance Sakuya’s?)
Citron: ー
Masumi: ...
Izumi: (Next up is Masumi-kun. A quick-tempoed allegro centered on technique. A change from the stiff tune, resolving into a gentle melody...)
Izumi: (He’s expressing how Masumi-kun’s opened his heart to everyone in the Spring Troupe.)
Citron: ー
Tsuzuru: ...
Izumi: (This is Tsuzuru-kun. The warm and melodious tune is altered and repeated over and over.)
Izumi: (Does this represent Tsuzuru-kun as our scriptwriter?)
Citron: ー
Itaru: ...
Izumi: (I wonder if it’s Itaru-san this time. It’s kind of like a background track from an RPG.)
Izumi: (It goes from a melody that’s like flying without a care, to the boss character’s entrance... heheh, it’s so Itaru-san.)
Citron: ー
Chikage: ...
Izumi: (This is Chikage-san. A slightly complex melody in a minor key... harmony from dissonance... a change into a sweet tune...)
Izumi: (It feels like Chikage-san.)
Citron: ...
Izumi: (Who does it represent now?)
Citron: ...
Izumi: ?
Izumi: (Citron-kun’s looking this way. Is this melody, perhaps... me?)
Izumi: (Everyone’s melodies are sprinkled throughout it, like it’s wrapping everything up...)
Izumi: (So this is Citron-kun’s impression of me. I’m kind of happy.)
Citron: ...
Izumi: (Surely, everyone in the Spring Troupe exists in Citron-kun. The time we’ve spent together until now is piling up and taking form.)
Izumi: ...hm?
Izumi: (This is...)
Izumi: Zuizui Zukkorobashi!?(4)
Chikage: Is this the finale?
Itaru: It checks out.
Audience A: Ahahaha!
Audience B: Why here!?
Audience C: That’s so funny~!
ー
Citron: Everyone, I thank you for listening~!
Izumi: (Closing such a lovely piece with a laugh... how very Citron-kun.)
STORY CLEAR
ーー
Notes:
1. Citron says “ウイロー” (uiroo, willow). Tsuzuru corrects him with “披露” (hirou). 2. Citron says “徳くん” (toku-kun), which Itaru corrects as “特訓” (tokkun). 3. Citron originally said “ウロボロス” (uroborosu, ouroboros), the symbol of a snake that eats its own tail forever. I really wanted his mistake in English to have a similar feel so I’m glad I was able to work that out! Itaru corrects him with “うろ覚え” (urooboe). 4. The same nursery rhyme that Citron plays in the event story.
#if you want feel good spring troupe closeness this is the story for you!!! citron loves them so mcuh#a3!#a3! translation#a3! citron#a3! sakuya#sakuya sakuma#a3! masumi#masumi usui#a3! tsuzuru#tsuzuru minagi#a3! itaru#itaru chigasaki#a3! chikage#chikage utsuki#also I'm sorry to say that I've defnitely peaked at 'honestly i have a valkyrie' and I will never come up with something that good again

A3! Anniversary Event Translation - On the Trajectory to Full Bloom. [Winter] (4/4)
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
<*SORRY, LONG DISCLAIMER* So I've decided to record their performance myself because the more I was working on it, the more I felt text alone just didn't do the event justice and the voice acting is SO FUNNY so it'd be nice if others could hear it too. I was hesitant to do this since it's bending the rules, so if it's a huge problem just let me know. I will not do this again; this event is an exception due to how heavily it relies on the voice acting. That being said, please don't reupload or redistribute the video--if I see it being posted anywhere else, I can and will take it down. Please just be respectful and discrete and just enjoy it, thanks~ watch it here~>
Izumi: It’s finally the real thing! It looks like the other troupes are coming to watch too.
Tasuku: That’s because we didn’t tell anyone about our original story.
Tsumugi: We dodged it even when we were asked. That’s why everyone’s curious about it, right?
Azuma: The content is the content, and I want to make everyone surprised and enjoy it too.
Izumi: (Tsuzuru and I were both surprised when they told us they’d write the script themselves but—.) (If that’s the content, then I’m fine with it. Fufu, everyone’s making a face like they’re mischievous kids…)
Guy: Tsukioka, there’s just 2 more minutes until showtime.
Tsumugi: Yes. —Everyone, gather round. It’s already our 2nd anniversary… before we came here, both as individuals and as the Winter troupe, we’ve stumbled and fallen, and we’ve made detours but… Because there were those moments, the us of right now are here.
Tasuku: Yeah.
Homare: Umu.
Hisoka: …Yeah.
Azuma: That’s true.
Guy: Right.
Tsumugi: I’m sure from here on as well, we may be clumsy and stumble and fall, and we’ll take the long way around many times over. But, no matter when, we’re not alone. —Well, was that a bit too pretentious?
Guy: No, there’s nothing wrong with that.
Azuma: Fufu, we’re bound by a common destiny, is that right?
Homare: Umu. In both sickness and in health—. —Haa, a poem has sprung forth! A blazing DESTINY, resonance’s AMBITIOUS…
Guy: There’s less than 10 seconds until showtime.
Hisoka: Time’s up.
Homare: What!?
Tsumugi: Fufu. Winter troupe, let’s go!
Winter troupe: Ohh!
-pause-
Narration: “This story is fictional. There is absolutely no connection to any real people or parties.” “…Probably.”
Audience member A: Ahaha! What’s this—!
Audience member B: Is this really a Winter troupe play?
Izumi: (Alright, they’ve grabbed them perfectly with the narration!) (The stage is MANKAI Theatre’s dressing room after the Winter troupe show’s dress rehearsal finished—)
-pause-
Tasuku: “Today’s dress rehearsal went alright, huh?”
Tsumugi: “It’d be great if we can perform like this for tomorrow’s opening day too.”
Guy: “That’s right.”
Hisoka: “I’m tired…Marshmallows…”
Homare: “Huh, sorry. I’ve run out.”
Azuma: “Come to think of it, Director said before that we received some snacks as a gift.”
Hisoka: “…I’ll go get some.”
Homare: “I will go too.”
Tsumugi: “I’m also a little hungry, so I guess I’ll go too.”
Izumi: (When the Winter troupe members are talking about their opening day tomorrow, The other troupe’s members will come to cheer them on one after another.)
*knock, knock*
Azuma: “Come in.”
Tasuku: “It’s open.”
Sakuya? [Hisoka]: “Please excuse me! Good job on your dress rehearsal!”
Citron? [Homare]: “Good wooork.”
Itaru? [Tsumugi]: “GJ.”
-pause-
Sakuya: !?
Citron: Oh—, what a soup fries*.
Tsuzuru: It’s surprise.
-pause-
Azuma: “Ahh, so you came to watch.”
Sakuya? [Hisoka]: “Yes! It was really great! I’m looking forward to the real show tomorrow!”
Citron? [Homare]: “Tomorrow will be a ghoul house**.”
Itaru? [Tsumugi]: “You actually mean a full house.”
Sakuya? [Hisoka]: “Good luck for tomorrow too!”
Guy: “Yeah, we’ll give it our all.”
-pause-
Itaru: Seriously? Tsumugi is playing… me, right?
-pause-
Citron? [Homare]: “…”
Azuma: “What’s wrong, your highness?”
Citron? [Homare]: “I envy Guy. The truth is, I also want to appear in a graceful adult programme much like the Winter troupe’s.”
Tasuku: “!?”
Guy: “Citronia, just now that wasn’t in Zahran. Is your language setting correct?”
Tasuku: “Or rather, you could speak such fluent Japanese?”
Izumi: (Citron-kun starts to speak fluent Japanese when the Spring troupe members aren’t around—.)
Citron? [Homare]: “Who do you think I am? It’s only natural. I’m usually only talking like that as a character I’ve made.” “The Spring troupe members are fussy about our character settings.”
Tasuku: “I-is that how it was…”
Guy: “I didn’t know that.”
Citron? [Homare]: “Anyways, I’m looking forward to your opening day tomorrow as well. Please do your best.”
Tasuku: “Y-yeah.”
*leaves*
Azuma: “Fufu, so that was the real his Highness.”
Tasuku: “That guy, that reminds me, he’s royalty, huh…”
-pause-
Citron: Ohh, Homare, AMAZING!
-pause-
Tsumugi: “There were various refreshments, huh?”
Homare: “Umu, we won’t be troubled about snacks for the time being.”
Tsumugi: “Huh? Where are Tasuku and Azuma-san?”
Guy: “They went to buy some drinks. What about Mikage?”
Homare: “He found a large amount of marshmallows and stopped moving.”
Tsumugi: “I don’t think he’ll return for a while.”
*door opens*
Tsuzuru? [Tasuku]: “Great job.”
Chikage? [Azuma]: “Good work.”
Tsumugi: “Ah, welcome.”
Masumi? [Hisoka]: “…Where’s Director?”
Homare: “She was handing out refreshments in the aisle.”
Masumi? [Hisoka]: “Then I’m going there.”
Tsuzuru? [Tasuku]: “Oi, Masumi—”
*leaves*
Guy: “Just what did Usui come here to do?”
Tsuzuru? [Tasuku]: “He was supposed to come to encourage you though, more or less.”
Chikage? [Azuma]: “He’s a consistent Director devotee.”
Tsuzuru? [Tasuku]: “Good grief.”
Tsumugi: “How was watching the dress rehearsal as an audience member?
Tsuzuru? [Tasuku]: “The result is perfect. As the person who wrote the script, I’m glad.”
Chikage? [Azuma]: “Good luck for your opening day too.”
Tsumugi: “Thank you very much.”
*leaves*
Homare: “It can’t be helped about Hisoka-kun, and Tasuku-kun and Azuma-san both haven’t returned.”
Guy: “They said they were getting drinks for everyone, So it might be taking more time than expected.”
Tsumugi: “Then, I’ll go see how it’s going.”
Homare: “I will accompany you as well.”
-pause-
Chikage: Heh, Azuma-san is me, huh?
Tsuzuru: I mean… this never crossed my mind.
Masumi: …I can also do that much. If it’s for Director, then impressions are…
Tsuzuru: You don’t need to compete with them!
-pause-
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “We’re coming in.”
Muku? [Hisoka]: “Excuse me.”
Misumi? [Homare]: “I brought a triangle~! Triangle, triangle~!”
Yuki? [Azuma]: “Good job—.”
Kazunari? [Tsumugi]: “Yay~! We came to cheer the Winter troupe on, yo!”
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “Huh? It’s only Guy-san?”
Guy: “They’ve stepped out for a bit. Even though you came all the way here, sorry about that.”
Muku? [Hisoka]: “No! Not at all! Rather, it’s me who has bad timing who’s at fault.” “It’s because I’m a shriveled-up green onion or a dried-out carrot that’s been forgotten in the fridge…”
Yuki? [Azuma]: “No one said that though.”
Misumi? [Homare]: “Then, I’ll leave everyone’s share of triangles~!”
Kazunari? [Tsumugi]: “’Kay, make it lit for tomorrow’s opening day too~!”
Guy: “Yeah, I will tell everyone.”
Muku? [Hisoka]: “Alright then, please excuse us!”
*leaves*
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “…”
Guy: “Is something wrong?”
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “No, I was just thinking I envy how Winter troupe’s dressing room is so calm.”
Guy: “Well nobody is here right now.”
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “Summer troupe’s dressing room is noisy even when people aren’t there. With their triangles, and triangles, and triangles.”
Guy: “…I see.”
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “I lose confidence sometimes. Is it ok for someone like me with a character that’s too dark to somehow be the Summer troupe leader?” In the end, I’m an actor who just sells with his face and benefits from the influence of my parents… I’m nothing but a radish, no, a shriveled-up carrot…”
Guy: “…Are you ok? For various reasons.”
*door opens*
Kazunari? [Tsumugi]: “Eh, Tenten, somethin’ wrong~?”
Yuki? [Azuma]: “What are you doing, useless actor.”
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “!!”
Misumi? [Homare]: “Tenma, you’re not feeling well~?”
Muku? [Hisoka]: “Are you depressed?”
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “Huh, WHO IS—! Who do you think I am?” “I’m Sumeragi Tenma, a man who’s going to make my name known to the world one of these days. There’s no way there will ever be a time I’m feeling down, alright!”
Yuki? [Azuma]: “…Oh really.”
Tenma? [Tasuku]: “AHEM! Then, please excuse me.”
Guy: “…That, well, don’t push yourself.”
-pause-
Muku: Tenma-kun, if perhaps there’s anything troubling you, talk to us, alright…!
Tenma: Don’t take that seriously!
Kumon: Azuma-san is Yuki, and Kazu-san is Tsumugi-san…???
Yuki: It’s too confusing.
Kazunari: Tsumu-tsumu, that’s sick~! If you do that at a mixer, it’ll probs legit be so hype!
Misumi: Arisu, your impression of me is so good~! Later, I’ll give you a Super Triangle-kun~!
-pause-
Homare: “Guy-san, won’t you lend me a bit of your strength?”
Guy: “Is something wrong?”
Homare: “It’s said we will hold a casual closing party with the refreshments as snacks.” “I must carry the drinks, but regrettably there is a lot to carry so…” “I could only bring over this much.”
Guy: “Understood. I will go get them. It’s not good to leave these unattended. Arisugawa, please wait here.”
Homare: “I’ll leave it to you.”
*leaves*
*knock, knock*
Kumon? [Hisoka]: “Excuse me!”
Omi? [Guy]: “I’ve brought a gift.”
Juza? [Tasuku]: “Good job.”
Homare: “Ahh, sorry for going out of your way.”
Juza? [Tasuku]: “Homare-san’s alone?”
Homare: “Right now, we’re clattering around in preparation for the closing party.”
Omi? [Guy]: “In that case, it’s perfect. I’ve brought a quiche.”
Kumon? [Hisoka]: “A closing party’s great, huh! I wanna join too!”
Juza? [Tasuku]: “You’re not part of the Winter troupe, ya know?”
Homare: “Oh no, no, don’t mind that. Definitely, please join in.”
Kumon? [Hisoka]: “Woohoo—!”
Homare: “Everyone, you came to watch the dress rehearsal, is that right?”
Juza? [Tasuku]: “Yea. It was really amazin’.”
Omi? [Guy]: “As expected of Winter troupe’s acting fanatics.”
Juza? [Tasuku]: “I wanna practise more, ‘n become able to act that much too.”
Omi? [Guy]: “Autumn troupe needs help with action though.”
Juza? [Tasuku]: “Settsu’s good at that, right?”
Homare: “Oh my, it’s somehow rare that Juza-kun is praising Banri-kun, hm?”
Kumon? [Hisoka]: “Nii-chan’s always praisin’ Banri.”
Homare: “Is that so?”
Omi? [Guy]: “He can’t tell him face-to-face since it’s embarrassing, right?
Juza? [Tasuku]: “T-that ain’t really how it is.”
Izumi: (Some members also reveal their true opinions when their own troupe’s members aren’t around, and their hidden, unknown face comes into view…)
-pause-
Omi: So the reason I was always being watched by Guy-san was for this, huh?
Kumon: Hisoka-san is normally like that, but it’s really amazin’ when he appears on stage…
-pause-
Sakyo? [Guy]: “I’m comin’ in.”
Banri? [Tasuku]: “Nice work—.”
Taichi? [Tsumugi]: “Great job, guys!”
Homare: “Ahh, precisely just before this, Omi-kun and them came here.”
Sakyo? [Guy]: “Then we missed each other?”
Azami? [Azuma]: “Homare-san, your makeup sits badly.”
Homare: “Um huh? Really?”
Azami? [Azuma]: “Use this before you sleep tonight. First is this one, next is this one. Facial packs are also essential. Also sleep without missing golden time.”
Homare: “Um, I got it.” “That reminds me, just before, Juza-kun was praising Banri-kun. He said his acting was good.”
Banri? [Tasuku]: “Did he really? Well, I think Hyodo’ll improve more than me though—" “I mean, the attitude he has towards actin’ is different so, Well I’m no match for somethin’ like that.”
Homare: “Umu… So Banri-kun’s also the type to give praise from the shadows.”
Taichi? [Tsumugi]: “Both of you just can’t be honest, right, Ban-chan!”
Sakyo? [Guy]: “Geez, they’re troublesome brats.”
-pause-
Sakyo: No way, they were thinking up something like this…
Banri: ‘Sides, what kinda setting do we have!
Juza: That’s impossible.
Taichi: But it’s super interesting!
Azami: Winter troupe’s scary…
-pause-
Tsumugi: “I’ve come back now.”
Azuma: “Sorry for the wait.”
Guy: “We’ve brought all the drinks.”
Tasuku: “While we were at it, we yanked Mikage from the marshmallows.”
Hisoka: “…Arisu is absorbed and making a weird face.”
Homare: “What is a weird face? I was just thinking for a bit.”
Tsumugi: “Thinking?”
Homare: “No, I was thinking that, apparently, I still don’t know everyone in the Theatre troupe very well yet.” “The human heart is terribly complicated and mysterious, hm?”
Hisoka: “…Not just his face, but what Arisu says is weird too.”
Tsumugi: “Did something happen?”
Tasuku: “…Well, somehow I understand what he wants to say.”
Azuma: “It’s that everyone has a hidden face, right?”
Guy: “…That’s right.”
Izumi: (The six Winter troupe members gather again; they talk about how the Theatre troupe members also have their various circumstances and it ends—)
-pause-
Audience member A: That was so interesting~!
Audience member B: I never thought that they’d actually do impressions!
Audience member C: They were really accurate!
Izumi: (Thank goodness the audience members also look like they enjoyed it…!) (In this friendly atmosphere where everyone is laughing and surprised, they change clothes and it’s the Winter troupe revue!)
-pause-
Tsumugi: Now, everyone. It’s the Winter troupe-like adult showtime.
Audience member A: Ehh, tap dancing!?
Audience member B: Amazing! So cool…!
Izumi: (I see. At a glance, it seems they’re well-arranged, and the steps are making proper use of each of their personalities.) (Tsumugi-san is dainty, and Tasuku-san is cool with his strong steps. Guy-san is also powerful in each of his movements.)
Izumi: (Homare-san is elegant, and because of his original nature, Hisoka-san’s movements are light. Also, Azuma-san is sexy.)
Audience member C: Winter troupe, stuff like this suits them, huh!
Audience member A: I get it~! Everyone’s wonderful!
Izumi: (They’re such gorgeous steps that I can’t imagine it was polished off in such a short time.) (…Azuma-san, just what kind of intensive training did you go through in that short amount of time.)
-pause-
Tsumugi: Everyone, for coming today—.
Winter troupe: Thank you very much!

A3! ACT 3 EPISODE 9 FULL SUMMARY SPOILER !
As title said, don’t bother to read or click “keep reading” below if you don’t wanna get spoil
Note for new characters :
*Shifuto : Azami’s childhood friend, same year as Azami (15) and coincidentally do part time job with Kumon. GODZA took him around ACT 2 Autumn. Had tense with Azami because Azami started acting even hired in Mankai Co eventhough he doesn’t serious about it. ref : Graduation event story
*Madoka : Misumi youngest brother ref Summer Third Play, he’s really similar to Misumi but cooler type (19) (tbh I shocked since Shifuto looks older) *Kusumi : Misumi & Madoka’s father, GODZA scriptwriter
*Kasumi Hinamori : Spring Troupe OG leader (before) “Spotlight” head director (now), Yuzo’s childhood friend
*Hiro Hyuga : Summer Troupe OG leader (before) drama actor (now)
*Zen Kuryu : Autumn Troupe OG leader (before) restaurant owner (now)
*Syu Otomiya : Winter Troupe OG leader (before) theater member (now), Reni’s childhood friend
- The story started after latest event graduation timeline so Omi started working, Azami entered same school as Kumon, Taichi & Tenma enrolled in Yosei university, Masumi enrolled in same university as Madoka (TsumugiTasuku alumnus), Kumon and Shifuto had same part time workplace PS : So yeah graduation event story pretty vital for ACT 3
- Prologue about Reni explained again in "portrait” ways until YukioReni parted ways (Reni already build GODZA and Yukio’s disappearing). Even after read prologue, better read again since some part are different than we thought plus it ended only until Yukio disappearing while Reni’s notes until Reni meets Yukio again. (so yeah, to be continued in EP 10)
- Timeact without any bet (ref : winter ACT 1) and Reni request Tsumugi personally for special actor to participate (that’s why he become lead actor). Since it’s all about personal problem with Reni, Tasuku Guy and Taichi fired up for settle score to him and in the end of chapter 10 Director agreed to participate with devil as theme, as for reasons it’s all about Reni personal sentimental about elegant & talent in acting (in short it’s all about Yukio)
- More than half of cast has some ties to Reni (Tsumugi, Tasuku, Taichi and Guy) while Azami to Shifuto (Shifuto become GODZA lead actor in this timeact) and for Omi about keep supporting Taichi around in ACT 1 Autumn
- Shifuto Azami problem ! As someone entered same school as Azami and same part time work with Shifuto, Kumon became their mediator ! (the only person from Summer troupe who do something visible enough in this story lol).
- Madoka and Masumi meet in their university ! Seems Masumi never know Misumi have brother (I don’t read JPN event story), so he confirmed it directly to Misumi after talked a bit to Madoka. Then we had Madoka inner thought like his father’s writing slump so he’s the one write GODZA’s play then reminded again that he’s a bit jealous to Misumi since Hakkaku had his attention more to Misumi than him.
- Reni plan on raising Shifuto to be second Yukio ! Not like Reni said it directly but it’s truth Reni took a liking on Shifuto and he even saying about Shifuto remind him to someone and made Shifuto do something Yukio was (act alone in center of stage)
- Shifuto Haruto Madoka time ! Added the good part of this story, since these three really balancing each others (ShifutoHarutoMadoka more like CitronTsuzuruMasumi so yeah Haruto really had hard time) Additional comment : Shifuto Haruto Madoka are 15 25 19 year old in sequence.
So you’re gonna say those 15 19 25 year old ! You’re joking, it’s more like 25 15 19 to me (lol)
- Kusumi has his writing slump so he asked “someone” to aid him by stealing Tsuzuru script while using for “Spotlight” interview as cover. Shifuto know about plagirism from Azami the days before timeact and asked Reni to change the script but rejected bc it’s impossible to prepare all from scratch. But Haruto acted fast included to use Madoka’s script as play. The script is about Madoka personal life (his relationships with Misumi) so it can be act with just two person.
- Day of Timeact “someone” using thugs to prevent TsumugiTaichi for going to GODZA theater. Banri & Juza helped them, while Banri stayed behind Zen appeared saved his ass ! After Zen introduce himself Juza appear and Zen suprised with his resemblance to Nachi then know that they’re different person.
- (for voting result better let it go since it’s clear as blue sky), After play, Reni acknowledge Tsumugi, Taichi and Tasuku act. With that Mankai and GODZA become friends onward. Then Reni tell Director (plus Ikaruga families) about early Mankai Co (still not started maybe in Ep 10)
- Some spoiler to next episodes. Yuzo Kasumi seems gonna visited Mankai Co for celebrations (high chance gonna meet Reni there), Hiro will play same drama as Tenma (this visible already in ACT 3 spoiler), Zen and Autumn Troupe gonna meet soon (possibility BanriJuzaOmi in Ep 11)
Episode 9 CGS :
- Chapter 15
They’re imitated Yuzo in “Spotlight” cover ! Yeah just imagine Yuzo doing that pose (lol)
- Chapter 22
Tsumugi had free day since he’s a bit slump about acting as devil. Walked around and without realize he’s in front of GODZA theater and meet Syu. Syu talking about flower withered then saying about saving Reni.
- Chapter 32
Banri stayed behind to takecare of thugs then Zen appeared saving his ass and go away after finished
- Chapter 37
Reni reminded of his past with Yukio while saw Tsumugi’s solo acting part. He want to make Yukio stand in stage and see his act once more.
? :
- Mastermind for script plagirism and thugs for get in TsumugiTaichi way to GODZA theater ? At some scene, Kusumi keep communicate to someone about those. My best guess it’s Syu. Since his first appearance, he seems know Tsumugi and Mankai connection to GODZA. He even correcting Reni name (first he said Reiji then become ”please save Reni”)
- Nachi Zen connection ? Seems the very reason Nachi went his way to acting is all about show restaurant Zen have. Plus seems Zen don’t know Nachi dead already… Seems we’re gonna get the answer in Ep 11 (Banri as lead actor)
- OG member’s connection to Mankai Co ? I don’t see Hiro nor Zen have some guilt to Mankai, while Kasumi have but for Syu... he seems doesn’t care to Mankai at all (his head full of Reni lol)
Answered question :
- The reasons why Omi attach to Juza ! Nachi doesn’t have sprite until this story so we never thought Juza and Nachi practically have same face ! (he’s just Juza with Chikage hair colour lol)
- AzamiShifuto become childhood friend. Everyone keep their distance from Azami since he’s Yakuza’s son and only Shifuto befriend him in kindergarten. It’s all started from this line
Shifuto : What is Yakuza ?
...yeah he don’t know Yakuza means so Azami invited him to his home and even after knowing he still play along with Azami (what a good kid lol)
- Direction for ACT 3 story. With ep 9 we got Tsumugi and Tenma for ep 10 as lead actor, it definitely sure ep 11 will be Banri and Sakuya for ep 12 !
Reni’s notes. As we already know from prologue, the notes explain until Reni meets Yukio again after Hakkaku died but portrait explained until Yukio’s disappearance at the end of ep 9. It still continued in ep 10, but it tell that Reni notes still has continuation (2/2) My best guess note 2/2 started from Yukio do his own theater with Matsukawa and Sakyo Izumi 15 year old
My Comment :
- Stray Devil Blues Play. Used a pretty ordinary backstory but to our suprise it’s Sympathy for the Angel afterstory AU ! The story itself are good with included some comedical part (Guy’s Beelzebub keep thinking about food, Taichi’s Mark easygoing act and even as Father, Omi can’t be released his job as cooker) ugh DEVIL TSUMUGI !!! Now I know why Reni really emphasize for first and last line of this play. Even now my mind still full of DevilTsumugi desperation’s line in last scene !
- The Contract (Play Theme Song). Have easy to understand music (feels like close to some music), while some part remind me of “Just for Myself” maybe it’s Taichi VA high note again, and Tsumugi’s “contract” line. Overall it’s quite catchy with some line really connected in sad ways to play itself (so it’s similar to Omoide no Nejimaki feels)
- MasumiMadoka and HarutoShifutoMadoka scenes, just my predictions but it’s not even weird if we have their story again in main or event story later (well, I always wait for MasumiMadoka bonding ops time)
- ACT 3 LINK SKILL ! Yeah everyone, there’s ACT 3 link skill, I still not try since members still not enough. I’m very sure about MasumiTsumugiTasuku, TenmaTaichiJuzaTsuzuruOmi, KumonAzami, GuyHisoka + Citron Homare maybe (this about Zahra Cafe) but wow with act 3 have their own link skill means total percentage link skill become harder than now
(next spoiler will be Ep 10 in next month)
