chapter 2 of DT has ended what do you think of the last episode

Okay, let's finally get to it and end this thing!

We've confirmed that Ace was the culprit last episode and we've also found out that this final episode was going to be 27 minutes long. Shorter than the trial episodes but clearly longer than what many would think it to be.

Well first is the voting and to no surprise, it is indeed Ace-

And speaking of David!

Right?! I never get over how certain blackeneds talk about murder being wrong with everyone, knowing damn well they did it.

The relationship Ace and Levi had this entire chapter is truly sad when you think about it. Ace was upset with Levi for even threatening his life in the last chapter whule Levi has been trying to repair that relationship ever since, but Ace has been seemingly wanting to murder someone since the start of this chapter. They've both been hurt by the revelation of each other, yet at the same time are still trying to keep the image of the other in a good and positive light. "Doomed Yaoi", is what I think they call this.

But it appears Teruko has an idea that might just save them.

And I mean.....Teruko's logic isn't exactly.....wrong? What does a blackened have left to lose at this point? And it hasn't been confirmed at this point if MonoTV had any replacements or copies like Monokuma. Well we the audience know this is a fruitless effort, but the cast doesn't.

Then we get another animated cut-scene! The Dev is putting some serious work out here and I will appreciate it. But still there's no way Ace is ever going to-

This doesn't work, and MonoTV springs back to life. With a new voice as well. This is either some really good range by the VA, or its someone else entirely. And I could swear it sounds almost like Teruko....Hmm... I could be looking too much into this. Anyways, after that...

Oh hey, is that the rule Bubbles and Poi were talking about? I still have no idea what episode it gets brought up in. Well it looks like it's paying off now.

But MonoTV attempts to punish Teruko and everyone is trying to convince Teruko to run and hide but she is unfazed and unmoving. Calling back to Chapter 1 where Xander stabbed her and Teruko claimed that she cannot be killed, no matter what. She seems completely sure about her luck in these types of situations. So where does this put her on the luck power scale? Kinda the same as Nagito, right? But just how is she going to survive this-

LEVI AGAIN! YOU TOOK THE HIT FROM THE SPEARS IN THE PROLOGUE AND NOW THIS! WHY ARE YOU A LITERAL GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT? I CAN'T TAKE MUCH MORE OF THIS!

But he is alive. Barely, but alive nonetheless. However, no one can leave quite yet. Ace still has an execution to get through. And so, with a heavy heart, and scarred out of his wits. Ace demands MonoTV to execute him to get it over with so everyone can save Levi. And onto that execution.

Thanatophobia: the fear of dying.

This execution is pretty unique in the sense that it's not about Ace's talent, but rather his personality. I can only name a hand few of executions that do this sort of thing, and it makes so much more sense. All Ace has been talking about is that he's scared of death, he doesn't want to die and this execution has him face those fears personally. Death by illnesses. Death by fire. Death by drowning, getting hit by a car, falling, lighting. And finally, all that fear and anxiety caused him to have a heart attack. Ace's fear of dying finally caught up to him. It's incredibly sad. Not so fun fact is that if you notice is that certain sprites have Ace clenching his heart. Probably not from theatrics, but because he could feel the pain his heart and could tell he was indeed going to die soon. It was all a matter of time.

And adding on to this is that fact that STILL, no one cared about Ace to react to his death. I know they were all in agreement that the second it ends to get Levi help, but the only one that had any reaction or acknowledgement of it...WAS VERONIKA!

The elevators open and everyone gets on, save for Teruko who uses this time to talk to MonoTV and essentially....vent.

If there's one thing that Chapter 2 has made evidently clear, is that Teruko wants to trust in others. Try as she might to push others away, she still holds a lot of baggage. All stemming from her and her luck ability. At one point in her life just accepted it. She accepted all the shortcomings her luck gave her and that included the death that came with it. Whether it be from Teruko miraculously surviving events that should have killed her, or the death of others close to her such as her family like her secret claimed

Attachments bring pain, and Teruko never wants to feel that pain again. But all it's doing is making the pain worse. Chapter 1 showed what happened when Teruko was all trusting, this chapter showed what happened when Teruko wasn't trusting, and now she's worse for wear because of it.

Balance. There needs to be a balance.

And with that. The chapter comes to a close. And Teruko sits there at the trial grounds....all alone in the darkness....

.....Hoo boy, this chapter sure was all over the place, huh?

From secret guessing, to attempted murders, theories about swapping victims, and how Teruko would react to it all. Needless to say it kept a lot of people guessing. But I think that's good. One of the themes of this chapter; in my opinion, is the price of what happens when assume someone. Many assumed Levi was an all around upstanding fellow, when in reality he was an uncaring and antisocial criminal. Many assumed Nico was just the sweetest thing and couldn't hurt a fly, and then they nearly murdered Ace. Many assumed was too stupid to think of a murder plan this thought out, and well he did! Almost all of the cast assumed David was this upstanding and good moral-ed fellow, and then he....okay he's a whole new can of worms, but you get the point right?

But you may be thinking, well doesn't this mean you should stay away from everyone entirely. No. Of course not. That what Teruko had to learn this chapter. That's exactly why you hang around people, to know them. Even in a situation like this. I think Teruko finally got that point, or at the very least a part of it and hopefully that'll continue going on into the next chapter.

While it will be another long while before Chapter 3, or even any other bonus content we may get from this series. It's evidently clear that the Dev put a LOT of work into this second half alone, and needs an understandably well deserved break.

So until that time comes, I'll still be here doing my own thing. And hopefully you guys will enjoy that. I'll see you around!

This is what made me stop being a fan

His life, he can do whatever he wants. But actions have consequences. So whatever he does, he has to be ready to deal with people not necessarily liking it. That’s life. 

Just like K, I too started as a fan. As a quite big fan actually. As someone who did everything they could to support the band. Buy merch, buy Vy tickets, go to shows, do M&Gs, spread the word on sm…And in the beginning I was happy to do that. I admired J because he seemed like a “go-getter” who worked hard, he seemed like he cares and is involved in what goes on around him in our society and around the world (His Oscar speech, anyone? And him speaking about Ukraine, supporting the LGBT community, concern for the environment, etc). He seemed passionate about his art, he obviously is very talented. He was great on stage. And he seemed like the “underdog” and like someone who fights for the underdog. You know, all his speeches about “be who you wanna be, love who you wanna love, be different, fight for your dreams” blah blah blah. And then of course his whole “struggling artist” act, the whole “no ones making any money here”. Yeah I fell for that. “Oh poor thing. He’s so great and so talented. But he’s not making any money. Yeah, we have to support him and his art and give from our very little salaries so that he can keep doing his art.” Yes, in that sense I was one of the “sheep”. I have to laugh at it now. 

Just like K said too, I also didn’t have any specific moment that made me stop being a fan. Shit just kept piling up until it hit the fan. It was just a sum of a lot of different things having happened. 

It started with the London Vy really. When they set the tickets at 10,000. It was insane. Now, nothing wrong in being ambitious and dreaming big and trying to do big things and trying to reach your goals…when YOU work for it. Not someone else. Had they promoted the shit out of it themselves and had done everything they can to get the tickets sold, fine. But it was like “Oh let’s put out 10,000 tickets to make a lot of money but let the fans do all the work any pay for it all.” It’s like DT saying “Let’s build a wall and make Mexico pay for it.” It’s ridicilous. Oh and “let’s sell tickets to an event that has no date so the people who buy live tickets won’t even know if they can watch it.” I mean, seriously? Real “geniuses” at work. Smh! And even though it was clear it will never work and people kept complaining and sending in suggestions, they just ignored it all. And then they did the VIP VV (that was supposed to be a treat for those who got their tickets early) unannounced, so that most of the people missed it. So from that point on I was like “Okay, let’s see them doing some work THEMSELVES to sell their events. I’m done. Unless there is some effort coming from YOUR way, I ain’t doing shit!”. I also stopped buying multiple tickets and I stopped buying VIP. If they don’t put in any effort, why should I? They’re the ones with a company trying to sell a product, not me. I don’t go to my workplace either expecting my clients to do MY work for me while paying ME. It’s ridicilous. And if you wanna improve your product, listen to your costumers. If they tell you something IS NOT WORKING, do something about it. Don’t ignore them, block them, black list them just because they told you their opinion about your product in the hopes of helping you improve it. And for god’s sake don’t be RUDE to them and tell them they should be grateful they got anything at all even though they PAID for the product and dont tell them to fuck off if they dont like it. Well, unless you wanna lose all your costumers. In that case, go ahead. 

And then there was the whole Joker thing with the used condoms and dildos and all his Joker antics. his whole “method actor” bullshit while frolicking around with models, while going rock climbing, while sending pics of himself in Joker makeup to models only to have it leaked and almost ruining things for WB. His antics were disgusting and not funny and if you claim to be a method actor and those stupid antics were needed as a part of your “method acting” then BE a method actor and don’t fuck around with young models or go rock climbing. At least stick to your story then and act like it. 

Which leads to the next problem. His words and actions not matching. Being fake. Lying during interviews. “Be who you wanna be, be different”. Well, why don’t you start with yourself and take your own advice, J? If barely legal underweight girls are your thing and you can’t even be friends with anyone who doesn’t look like a model or isn’t much younger than you are, then be that. If that’s who you are, fine. So be it. If vapid models with half a brain cell are the company you prefer and want around you, it’s okay. But in that case don’t try to speak about women’s rights and about having respect for strong women or any of women’s issues. Keep your mouth shut. And don’t try to hide it and act like that’s not who you are. People are not dumb. So don’t assume they are and treat them like they are. Just because everyone around you are stupid, doesn’t mean the rest of us are, thank you very much. 

Then Gucci came into the picture. Gucci this, Gucci that. Gucci, Gucci, Gucci. I AM SICK OF GUCCI! We get that you are the face of Gucci and friends with AM. But can you not shove Gucci down our throats 24/7, thank you very much. And shut up about “no one’s making any money here” and quit the “struggling artist” act. Please. When youre wearing an outfit that costs more than my whole month’s salary. Go fuck yourself. And if you raise your prices, I expect a stellar product. I expect to get my money’s worth. If I pay thousands to go to Camp MARS, I expect MARS to put some effort into it. Have activities with fans, interact with them. You have the whole weekend. You’re literally booked for the whole weekend. It’s YOUR “festival”. So do the work. And if you sell your camp packages by promising to play new music, then do that and don’t do false advertising, if you’re not intending to play new songs. And can you please tear yourself away from your freeloaders for ONE weekend  and concentrate on your work, thanks. Also, if you’re going to do a show and people paid thousands to see it, can you please rehearse so you actually know the lyrics to your own songs. I don’t come to shows to listen to the fans sing. I come to hear YOU sing. And play. That’s if the band even bothers to show up. 

I could go on and on but what finally made me go “I have had it!” was him disappearing from sm and only coming on when he needs something from us. When he only remembered he has fans when he wanted our votes or our money or  needed us to do PR for him. And him lying the whole time. Can you take things seriously for once and quit being immature and actually say what you mean for once. And do what you say. Don’t expect us to believe you and feel sorry for you if you say your back hurts soooo much, but instead of taking care of it,  you’re flying around long distance to go to fashion shows and to unnecessarily go to some art gallery for a day and when you can go rock climbing with your kittens. Same thing goes for your knee.Don’t go on sm to whine about it to get attention and do ice baths in trash cans and  come on stage wth a cane when you then after two songs take off your knee brace and jump around. 

The last drop for me was the lies about the new album. the ten millionth “#soon. The "we’re 80% done” for 2 years straight. The “We’re finishing the album today” only to tell us two weeks later that he’s working on the lyrics on the first single. Only to tell us the album isn’t even done. At some point it stops being funny and becomes pathetic. Come tease us about a new album WHEN YOU ACTUALLY HAVE AN ALBUM: And dont go around talking about how “exhausted” you are now that you finished ONE SONG. In FOUR years. Seriously, dude! Have you lost touch with reality completely?! Do you actually even know what HARD WORK and REALLY being exhausted from working is like? You need to get out in the real world more, dude. Stop hanging out with your freeloaders whose only job is to go from one vacation to another and lay around by the pool all day or who get dressed by other people and their only job is to look pretty in pictures. That’s not hard work. Neither is doing one song in four years. That’s just insulting.  And if your staff can’t get even one lyric video right, it’s time to finally take a look at your staff and start hiring professionals. How hard is it to get a LYRIC video with two verses right? You write the lyrics down, the person doing the lyric video writes them on the video and reads it through. Another person looks at the LYRICS video when it’s done and compares the lyrics to proofread. Boom. Done. Don’t need to be a genius to do that. 

I don’t know what happened to J. If the Oscar and the millions he got from the Joker role went to his head and his ego got too inflated and he got lazy, because why work when you can make money by doing nothing? Or if he completely lost touch with reality after hanging out too much  with the type of people he does and since he’s dressed head to toe in Gucci and no doubt gets it all for free, he thinks everyone can afford to throw around thousands. Or he just was a shallow douchebag who is full of himself before too and he just played another Oscar worthy role…the “Oscar J” role…and people fell for that PR campaign. And now the real J is coming out again? I don’t know. 

For me to be able to like J again, he needs a huge piece of humble pie. Tone done the attitude. You’re not above everyone else J. You’re not the center of everyone’s universe. You’re not THAT important and you definitely are NOT “different” than most in HW. In fact, you’re pretty much a cliche. So stop acting like you’re “all that”. You’re not. Tone down the Gucci. Seriously. We’re sick of it. Start hanging out with smart people. You’ll be surprised how inspiring smart people actually are. And yeah, most of them don’t look like models, but the good news is you don’t have to sleep with them. You can actually just be friends with people. That’s if you can bear to breathe the same air as someone who is normal weight or, god forbid, overweight. Get involved in your community. If you actually care for the environment or for animals so much, prove it. Letting your interns RT a tweet or two does not count as being “active”. And if you write a “protest song”, please do show with your ACTIONS that you care about things BEFORE writing said song and conveniently using a current unrest to sell it. Stop lying. Seriously. We’re not dumb. Be who you are, whatever it is. But ffs STOP LYING about who you are!!!!!! Put some effort into your work again. Focus. You once did. We want that J back.

Then again, Knights Of Cydonia takes this and cranks everything about this song up to 11, but "Victorious" only came out last year, and it made for great BG music when it came on in the gym. Run to the RTARLsman 2017: Week 7

This week I’m feeling very magnanimous towards the wide receivers. Also, my favorite players keep losing and it’s bugging me that I knock them for it because I’m trying really hard not to just ape the Heisman hype. Chris Huston may not run his own site anymore but he’s still the go to guy for that iteration of tracking the country’s best players.

Other than football, how are things? Are we all sort of feeling a little of that old Cold War tension where American empire is no longer effectively unchecked and we might all just be killed at any time? A lot of the caterwauling over flag & country feels like a throwback of sorts to my mind. I hate it all. Anyway, back to the sports!

Nobody really reads this shit who doesn’t also comment but just in case here is the superfluous explanation: the rankings aren’t necessarily rankings per se but some weeks they are. This week they aren’t. The committee voting on this is just me, as it should be. There are some weekends where I watch more football than the entirety of Heisman voters.

1. JAMES WASHINGTON, Oklahoma State, WR

I know, I know. Big XII is a negative and playing Baylor is a double negative but even with three marks against him, James Washington averaging 28 yards per catch as a #1 receiver in a pass heavy offense is awesome. His QB leads the country in passing yards right now in large part to almost inexplicable separation skills from #28. Washington isn’t big or fast by NFL standards but he’s so good at football it might not matter. He won’t be the first WR off the board but he’s dominated even on the rare occasions when he’s lined up against NFL talent at cornerback.

2. ANTHONY MILLER, Memphis, WR

Miller isn’t ranked very highly by a lot of mock draft dudes right now but I think the NFL Combine is going to do his hype a great service. The picture here is funny because he didn’t actually make the catch but it shows his best skill in action - tracking the ball. This is what every pass catcher on Louisville, for instance, lacks completely and it kills their deep passing game. With Miller on the field, Riley Ferguson can get away with dodgy deep accuracy because the receiver is going to find his way to the ball regardless. I compared Miller to a slower DeSean Jackson early in the season and I think that might really be his high end comp by the time the draft rolls around. If he runs in the 4.4s or lower this is a first round pick.

3. STEVE ISHMAEL, Syracuse, WR

Ishmael might be the second best WR in the Miami-Syracuse game tomorrow and I mean that as a compliment. Dabo Swinney compared him to the Mike Williams that was on Clemson last year (not the Mike Williams that was on Syracuse a few years ago), which is lofty, but he’s similar in size and has never broken his neck which is a good place to start. Depending on how much pressure Miami gets against Eric Dungey Ishmael could get a few chances to shine against a backfield that is the weakest part of the Hurricanes defense. If you’re wondering, Ahmmon Richards is a much better overall talent than Ishmael but he’s only played about 5 quarters this season so he isn’t in the RTARLsman race right now. My greatest disappointment with Ishmael is that he isn’t related to the Ismail brothers Qadry and Raghib.

4. MICHAEL GALLUP, Colorado State, WR

I willn’t lie, until this week I had never really given a thought to this kid but his name is great for a deep threat WR (if you say it out loud) and he is now leading the country in receiving yards. He hauled in passes for 263 yards last week and now he’s getting compared to Anquan Boldin by some fringes of draft twitter. That’s not bad. I have no reason to believe or disbelieve those comparisons but I have a weird affinity for Rams football that predates my beloved hometown Los Angeles Rams becoming my beloved hometown Los Angeles Rams. My last CSU WR crush is currently doing mostly nothing for the Browns but I am an optimist.

5. BRYCE LOVE, Stanford, RB

His stats look nice against Oregon because of a 67-yard TD run right at the beginning of the game and Stanford beat the hell out of the Ducks but it really was his toughest game so far this year. As expected! By me. Who noticed a weirdly good rush defense from the Ducks when I was researching last week’s RTARLsman post. This doesn’t really portend to much of anything, the next time you see Love he should be pushing his yards per game back north of 200 against the godawful Oregon State Beavers. That game is next Thursday, though, so you won’t get any crazy highlights tomorrow from the best player in the country so far for 2017.

6. ED OLIVER, Houston, DT

The Cougars lost in a track meet last night but you can’t put that on Oliver. He had 2.5 TFL before the rest of his teammates were overcome by a Memphis offense that never stops. I haven’t really formed an opinion of Houston’s head man, Colt McCoy just yet but the overall talent around Oliver is nothing like it was last year and his stats are suffering a little bit for it.

7. SAQUON BARKLEY, Penn State, RB

No lie, I’m ready to see Maurice Hurst kind of fuck things up for the Penn State running game tomorrow. Barkley is an out of this world talent but he also dances a lot and that could hurt him against Michigan. If he rips off one or two highlight plays (likely) nobody will notice but I think the #1 overall draft pick whispers are getting a little silly. That’s not how value works in the NFL.

8. LAMAR JACKSON, Louisville, QB

I had this realization again last week but more sharply than in prior weeks: Louisville’s overall talent is bad and it’s really hurting the Lamar Jackson narrative for the general college football fan. NFL focused observers have mostly raved about Jackson this year but in the world of Heisman Trophies and bowl games 2 losses might as well have killed the kid. If you keep making the right reads and your receivers either drop it or break off their routes there’s only so much the QB can do. I’ve noticed a reticence to run this year that might be in Jackson’s long term interests while also hurting his hype value and maybe even his team’s prospects. Again, the only good player on the offensive side of the ball for the Cardinals pretty much has to do everything himself or the team suffers in the standings.

9. TRAVIS HOMER, Miami, RB

Fuck it. I’m all in. Homer bugged me as a freshman last year because he seemed to shrink a little from contact. If you just read his height/weight you might have the impression that Homer is pretty average sized for a college RB1 but this kid is ripped. V-shaped even. Yoked, What’s another TBLism for looking like you use steroids properly? I’m not saying Homer does that but he looks like he’d be strong. So it was nice seeing him get #1 carries last week and live all the way up to his potential against a pretty good Georgia Tech defense. If Homer does it again tomorrow I’ll be all over your twitter timelines with Simpsons gifs and bullshit. Expect that.

10. JONATHAN TAYLOR, Wisconsin, RB

RTARL’s freshman of the year, Taylor has three 200-yard games including the last two weeks. He’s got Maryland next up and that’s a potential fourth 200-yard game. If I’m not mistaken that would put him on par with Bryce Love. Not too shabby. Am I predicting a 200-yard game for the super freshman and former tween heartthrob (during his time on that Tim Allen show in the 90s) tomorrow? Yes, that’s exactly what I’m doing.
