Guys, guys!!
Imagine like 4000 years later where human civilization developed or retreated I don't care it's not necessary.
Imagine if all sources of greek mythology vanished or died with the years, and as much as we depend on Homer's Iliad and Odyssey now people on the future find PERCY JACKSON and the other Rick Riordan serieses as the only source of mythological knowledge!!
They'd read the books and imagine that those are the gods we believe in now and they'd think that Percy and the other demigods are real,
And couple of millennia later, Rick Riordan's books were destroyed or lost so people only told the stories verbally for centuries,
And as stories go they got deformed!! Imagine people after so so many years thinking Percy and the other demigods are like super super heroes whom are like much stronger than your local demigods yet still below gods, and then further deformation happens!!
And people start to think that the demigods are the gods!!
Now please, imagine.... imagine!
Percy, god of the sea, water, storms, hurricanes, earthquakes and horses. (I can see him becoming the new king of the gods btw)
Jason, god of the sky, lightning and thunder, law and order.
Nico, god of death, shadows, ghosts and spirits. King of the underworld.
Annabeth, goddess of wisdom, handicraft, and warfare.
Piper, goddess of love, pleasure, passion, procreation, fertility, beauty and desire.
Frank, god of war, violence, bloodshed and manly virtues.
Leo, god of fire, master blacksmith and craftsman of the gods; god of the forge, craftsmanship, invention and volcanoes.
Will, god of the sun, of light, prophecy, philosophy, archery, truth, inspiration, poetry, music, arts, manly beauty, medicine, healing, and plague.
Thalia, goddess of the hunt. the wilderness, virginity, the Moon, archery, childbirth, protection and plague.
And I'd like to add!!
Dakota, god of wine, the grapevine, fertility, festivity, ecstasy, madness and resurrection
Rachel, goddess of family and marriage, women and childbirth.
Hazel, goddess of earth and riches. Princess of the underworld and younger sister of Nico, King of the underworld.
Conner, god of traps, diplomacy, thieves, games and the guide of dead souls.
Travis, messenger of the gods; god of travel, commerce, communication, borders and eloquence.
Meg, Goddess of the harvest, fertility, agriculture, nature and the seasons.
Reyna, Goddess of the hearth, fire and of the right ordering of domesticity and the family, and also goddess of war.
Yes, they have 16 gods!!
I don't know what to name them but it has to be a cool name, like we got the Titans and the Olympians so it has to be cool.
Also imagine if like the Olympian gods we have now being translated to future generations as the bad guys (like how we have Kronos and Gaea now) and like the demigods gods (cuz I still don't know what to name them) are the forces of good that protect humanity, because they need humans to worship them of them to exist obviously.
So this generation of demigods gods are like nice gods for once!! They care for their children and the people under their wings!!
Best things as follows:
Percy, the god of the sea, is married to Annabeth, goddess of wisdom and war strategy.
Nico, god of death and the underworld, is married to Will, god of the sun and music.
Jason, god of the sky, is married to Leo, god of fire and crafts.
Frank, god of war, is married to Hazel, goddess of earth and riches.
Reyna, goddess of the hearth and war, is married to Thalia, goddess of the hunt.
Conner and Travis are the new twins and Rachel, goddess of family and marriage, is a sworn maiden because she wills her powers to maintain other relationships either between gods or between mortals.
Dakota on the other hand, doesn't like to be restrained as much as a mad person could go.
In this world there's nothing called being a maiden so as to be a hunter, bullshit I'm telling you, goddess Thalia herself is married.
Piper, the goddess of love and beauty knows best than to fall in love. Meg is one of the young gods, still closed in her bulb.
Also pffft, Thanatos who? I'm sure Nico can manage it all.
Another generation of demigods arise within no god is whoring around, the gods observe mortals and seek potential within them and when a god catches a mortal child leveling up to their preferences they claim them as a sort of blessing and take them under their wings.
The camps theme is surly still there, merged into one camp because one for some reason humans are less, and two because there's nothing called greek and roman gods anymore, only one version.
Demigods still go on quests, and as we know gods can't directly help them but they always make sure not to use mortals unless it's necessaity, and they try to help as much as they can.
I'd really love to live in a world like that! This post started off as a little imagine then quickly turned into world building, lol.

Offseason Twins News Roundup
Since the mid-playoffs 1-2-3-4 punch of firing four coaches, Thad Levine leaving, MLB taking over TV broadcast rights, and the Pohlads announcing their intention to sell the team, the Twins have had a quiet offseason relative to most teams. But now that the stove has heated up with big trades and signings over the last week or so, I expect things to start moving for the Twins as well. Here's a roundup of what's happened since mid-October as we prepare for what comes next.
Kirilloff's Retirement
At the end of October, Alex Kirilloff, the Twins' 2016 first-round draft pick, announced his retirement from baseball at age 26 due to the physical and mental complications of his various injuries. This came as a huge surprise, but an understandable decision nonetheless, and by every indication he's in a good headspace about it. I wish him the best.
Article here
Roster Moves
Here's the current state of the Twins' 40-man roster. As we've passed various early offseason roster deadlines, there have been a lot of procedural moving parts here:
Kepler, Santana, Thielbar, Farmer, and Margot are free agents, the latter two after having their mutual options declined
Kirilloff retired from baseball (see above)
Dobnak, Duarte, Blewett, Winder, and Severino were outrighted off the 40-man roster to clear space. Dobnak remains with the organization on his contract; Duarte, Blewett, and Severino were all re-signed on minor league deals, and Winder elected free agency
Alcala's team option was picked up
Stewart, Tonkin, and Topa were all signed to one-year deals to avoid arbitration
The rest of the Twins' very large arbitration-eligible class were all tendered contracts: Castro, Jeffers, Ober, Jax, Ryan, Larnach, Duran, and Lewis. The arbitration filing deadline is 1/9/25, though I don't expect any players to go to arbitration
Top prospect Marco Raya as well as Travis Adams (both pitchers) were added to the 40-man roster to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft. No players in the organization were lost in the major-league portion of the Rule 5 Draft
The Twins selected Eiberson Castellano, pitcher in the Phillies' organization, in the Rule 5 Draft (more on that later)
Few surprises here outside the Kirilloff news. I always liked Winder, so I'm sad to see him go. I expect to see Raya in the majors next season. There's a nonzero chance the Twins re-sign Santana given the glaring hole at first base. Also best wishes in Colorado to Kyle Farmer, forever a Twins legend for the opening day walkoff, promising a playoff win, and hitting that homer in ALDS Game 2 🫡
Front Office Changes
Longtime Twins president Dave St. Peter stepped down, while Derek Falvey will be taking over in a joint president/POBO role. Assistant GM Jeremy Zoll, one of the Twins' two assistant GMs and head of player development, was promoted to GM to replace Levine. St. Peter was the president for 22 years and the face of things like "if you fund our new stadium we promise to raise the payroll" and "why aren't fans coming to the ballpark after we cut payroll". He won't be missed among fans.
Articles: St. Peter, Zoll
Arizona Fall League
The Salt River Rafters, the Twins' Arizona Fall League affiliate this year, won the AFL championship. Their manager was Saints coach Tyler Smarslok, and Twins prospect (and 2023 AFL home run derby champion) Kala'i Rosario drove in the go-ahead run. I hope Rosario can make the majors, he seems like a cool guy and I enjoy rooting for him.
Article here
Coaching Staff Changes
The Twins recently finished their major league coaching staff hires, as well as some internal promotions.
Hitting coach: Matt Borgschulte, Orioles assistant hitting coach and former Twins minor league hitting coach
Hitting coach: Rayden Sierra, Twins minor league assistant hitting coordinator
Assistant hitting coach: Trevor Amicone, Yankees triple-A hitting coach
First base/infield coach: Ramon Borrego, Twins double-A manager and 21-year organizational veteran
Assistant bench coach/catching coach: Hank Conger, promoted from first base coach
It'll be interesting to see if the all-new hitting staff can fix the Twins' situational hitting issues, which they've specifically called out as a goal. I'm really excited to see Borrego join the major league staff, he's very popular and managed a lot of our players in the minor leagues.
Articles: Borgschulte, other coaches
Rule 5 Draft Pick
For the first time since 2017, the Twins selected a player in the major league Rule 5 Draft: Eiberson Castellano, a rising star pitching prospect for the Phillies' double-A team. He fits the Twins' pitching prospect profile (big righty with good command) and they've apparently liked him for some time. Since Rule 5 draftees must be kept on the active roster, he'll likely be tried as a long reliever.
Article here
Potential Buyers for the Twins
The first potential buyers for the Twins have emerged, Justin and Mat Ishbia, owners of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury basketball teams. Any potential sale is likely still in early stages, but the Ishbias have apparently been meeting with local leaders already. They are characterized as assertive, willing to spend, and passionate about baseball. If this is accurate, this absolutely seems like best case scenario.

I saw Tisakorean live last week. I did not pay attention to the openers until right before the show started, but was blown away at the lineup: Texas Boyz, Yung Nation, and Trill Sammy with Dice Soho were the big names. Across these acts, you can draw a line from them to Tisakorean's new music. It was an incredible blend of circa-2011 blog-rap nostalgia that called to mind in the best way my nights at small sweaty clubs seeing eight rappers in a row over the course of four hours.
I don't know if you've seen the videos of Soulja Boy snapping, but I clocked it as a reaction to what Tisakorean is doing. It speaks to a trend/zeitgeist: concurrent to this is the embarrassing efforts to make "indie sleaze" a thing, which confusingly throws all manner of sounds and aesthetics anywhere from about 2004 to 2010 into a blender. The Dare kinda sound like LCD Soundsystem but they also remind me of mid-'00s detritus like The Bravery. I sense the same era rap music creeping on the margins: Homer Radio featured a slew of snap/dance music in a recent episode (#23, from April); indie sleaze nostalgia combined with "blog rap" podcasts point toward an endpoint destined to go just a few eras backward in time; the fact that 2003 was twenty years ago; this Druski skit that dropped the day I drafted this; and yes, Tisakorean's masterful album, Let Me Update My Status.
When Tisa appeared on the national stage in 2018, I thought he was riding the wave of a trend: regional dance rap that consisted of artists like Splurge and 10kcaash, alongside future footnotes like Lil Tecca. His 2019 debut, A Guide to Being a Partying Freshman, was met with a mixture of shrugs to light praise. A fun collaboration with Chance the Rapper seemed to seal his fate as a guy who would burn bright and hot but not for long.
The first time I thought "he has something" was 2020's "Bate Onna Bo" which weaved through so many movements in the span of four minutes it had to be the work of a musician with a real vision. By 2021 we got "Old School Cash" and "Silly Dude" and it was clear he was following his instincts and making the exact kind of music he wanted to make. This came to a head in 2022 with his EP 1st Round Pick and "Backseat," which was my favorite song of the year. Sometimes that's as far as an artist can go. But he pressed on: Let Me Update My Status underlines my thought that Tisakorean is an era-defining rapper in a time when artists make interminably long albums to game the streaming algorithm then disappear off the planet.
It may seem premature to call Tisakorean era-defining but that's where I landed. I don't mean he's sold the most albums or had the most hits, but in this age where you can have a few songs and leave no impact, that he's had an audience since 2018 is huge: that he's produced great music since at least 2020 is even more impressive. (While I never disliked his earliest music, it hits a lot better now in the context of his career arc.) A lot of people who liked "The Mop" may not be following him now, but artists who shed casual fans are probably doing something noteworthy. No one is good for three years, let alone five. I like Travis Porter more than your average person, but I'd argue at best they had a three year imperial phase. Now anyone starting a twitter reply with "buddy" doesn't know they exist.
The Atlanta snap/swag sound and movement from 2006 through about 2009 was a singular moment that came just as regional music was cresting (Houston famously in 2005, Three 6 Mafia won the Oscar in 2006), before blogs, before Drake. Early Gucci Mane was popping off and OJ da Juiceman became a household name within this precarious window. But as soon as all cool regional stuff became fodder for rappers on major labels and young hypebeasts like ASAP Rocky to absorb, it was over, which is why it's due for a renaissance.
It's getting harder to imagine life before smartphones, before omnipresent internet and connectivity, before literally every aspect of our lives was managed by at most three or four corporations. Kevin Durant's iconic BlackPlanet page might as well be the Dead Sea Scrolls as a relic of his personality expressed through that era of the internet. But any means of original expression becomes unlikelier as we get funneled into pre-ordained ways of being our ourselves, of consuming art and media and sports, to the fabric of our thoughts.
A few years ago Matty Healy described his life pre-internet the best I've heard it. It's not about the changes it brought, but that he cannot remember what it was like to live without it. He cannot remember what it felt like to feel things before the internet, and what it felt like to not have to think about the internet as he felt things, and that his life and experiences still had meaning. And this inability to remember will render us more vulnerable to exploitation, and feeling like we are not connected to our true selves.
It used to feel different to feel alone, to feel sad, happy, etc, without thinking about how to broadcast it. Even if you don't put yourself online like that, there's an inkling to want to. I took a ton of pictures and videos at the Tisa show and I put some in my stories, but I found I didn't want to share them permanently. They are for me.
Let Me Update My Status is a masterpiece in perfecting sounds from snap to crunk to mid-aughts Neptunes. It's a callback to a simpler time, which is nearly impossible to do without some subconscious argument we also need to return to simpler, regressive politics. What makes the album so invigorating is how thoroughly it plumbs the era as an aesthetic and sound, not just as an excuse to make goofy videos. Its accomplishment is how it demonstrates snap music as an organic form that was never a response to anything: it was not conservative in its values, instead it was a truly original and innovative Black American artform that took time to receive the respect it deserved. (Quick aside: yes there were people who always loved it and it was popular for a reason, but it was not considered a given until years later.)
In Kelefa Sanneh's Major Labels he says in spite of the liberal ideology at the heart of punk music, it was a conservative movement because art that aspires to either simplicity in its content (songs as political statements) or as a "return to form" (three chords and 4/4 time) is reactionary. The real-world impact of punk as ostensibly progressive expression was what came after it; it's Minor Threat and Green Day but also skinhead music. When mid-'10s revisionism took hold and people rightfully concluded "D4L were important" it took forgettable Big Sean and Kid Ink albums to get there; it took the critical adulation upon the arrival of artists as disparate as Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Waka Flocka Flame to get there; it took time to get there, to see what had shaped everything that preceded the moment as vital to the culture.
Tisakorean’s delirious ode to snap music locates within a specific timeframe from the past an emotional center and palette, finding new entry points into the sound, blending homemade beats with experimental forms as well as hyperpop to fashion an immersive triumph. There’s nothing one-dimensional about Let Me Update My Status and it also doesn’t conjure any Bush-era feelings of excess or doom, which it might do if it used nostalgia as a gimmick. I love Let Me Update My Status because it sounds exactly like how 2007 felt, and for me 2007 was a good year to be alive, using the internet not because I had to but because I wanted to.

The teams combined for 13 total runs and 21 total hits, with 4 total home runs. Three of the homers were solo shots, but Mike Napoli's 3-run shot in the 9th gave the Red Sox the cushion they need after the Yankees had rallied late.
BOS 9/13/0 -- WP: Jon Lester (1-0) NYY 4/8/0 -- LP: CC Sabathia (0-1)
Bos 4th: Shane Victorino with a lead-off single to left; Dustin Pedroia and Mike Napoli walk to load the bases; Will Middlebrooks singles to center, plating Victorino; Jarrod Saltalamacchia hits a sac fly to right, plating Pedroia; Jonny Gomes singles to short, loading up the bases again; Daniel Nava singles to left, plating Napoli; Jose Iglesias hits a sac fly to center, plating Middlebrooks. 4-0 BOS NYY 5th: Ichiro Suzuki launches a 1-out solo home run to right field. 4-1 BOS NYY 6th: Brett Gardner hits a lead-off home run to center. 4-2 BOS Bos 7th: Nava hits a lead-off solo home run to right. 5-2 BOS NYY 7th: Ichiro laces a 1-out double to center; Jayson Nix walks; Chris Stewart smashes a double to center, scoring Ichiro easily and Nix races home from 1st, just beating out the throw. 5-4 BOS Bos 9th: Iglesias with a 1-out triple; Victorino with a 2-out single to shallow center, scoring Iglesias; Pedroia singles, with Victorino racing to 3rd; Napoli blasts a 3-run no-doubter to right. 9-4 BOS
(Strat note: lots of changes here. For the BoSox, Jackie Bradley Jr. started in left and batted 8th; as his card was not part of the original set - though I do have it now, as part of the additional cards - I started Daniel Nava in his place; Nava did actually play in the next game, so I don't think this was too much of a stretch. For the Yankees, original starters Kevin Youkilis, Ben Francisco, and Francisco Cervelli were absent, leading me to start Lyle Overbay, Travis Hafner, and Chris Stewart in their places; Overbay and Hafner did pinch-hit in the actual game, and Stewart did play in the next game, so again, not too much of a stretch.)
Boston 1-0; New York 0-1 Next game in replay: COL (Chacin, 0-0) @ MIL (Gallardo, 0-0)

Bears' Johnson Out, Swift questionable vs Vikings on Monday Night.
Tumblr media
By: BenJarmin Munguia
Date: December 14, 2024
The Chicago Bears have listed running back Roschon Johnson out with a concussion and running back D'Andre Swift questionable with a groin injury for Monday Night Football's matchup with their NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings.
Johnson suffered a concussion during the Bears' embarrassing loss vs. the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, and Swift was listed as questionable last week vs. the 49ers with a quad injury but was able to play.
The Bears are not only 4-9 with a seven-game losing streak and in the basement of the NFC North but also ranked 23rd in rushing offense in the league.
Without Johnson and possibly Swift, Chicago may look to Travis Homer to start on Monday night.
Defensive tackle Gervon Dexter and center Ryan Bates have been ruled out by Chicago.

Braves Rally In 10th For Win.
Braves 8 Twins 6 W-Iglesias (4-1) L-Duran (6-8)
The Minnesota Twins have not been playing good baseball lately. The Braves jumped out to an early lead and never gave it up to start the series last night. The second game was tonight at Target Field. The Braves struck first again in the second as Matt Olson doubled. Michael Harris then smoked a Simeon Woods Richardson slider out to right for a two-run homer. The Braves quickly loaded up the bases in the fifth and Marcell Ozuna knocked in a pair with a single to left. This put Atlanta up by four midway through the game. Meanwhile, Spencer Schwellenbach threw 4 2/3 innings and got into trouble in the fifth. Dylan Lee got out of his mess to end the fifth. The Twins finally found some offense in the seventh when Willi Castro led-off with a single. Trevor Larnach doubled home a run to put the Twins on the board. Matt Wallner lined a run-scoring single off the right field wall and the Twins pulled within a pair. Eddie Julien lined a double down the right field wall and Matt Wallner scored all the way from first. Minnesota pulled within a run after seven innings of play. Willi Castro ignited an eighth inning rally with a double to right. Trevor Larnach singled him home to tie the game at four. Neither side scored in the ninth and we headed for extras. Marcell Ozuna started the tenth with a double, but Jarred Kelenic didn't score. Matt Olson reached on a fielder's choice to second and the go-ahead run scored. Travis d'Arnaud singled home another run and Ramon Laureano plated two more. The Braves put up four runs and Pierce Johnson retired the first two batters before Jose Miranda singled home a run. Willi Castro kept the game alive with a base hit to right and Trevor Larnach hit a run-scoring single to center. Matt Wallner struck out to end the game and the Braves took the series from the Twins tonight.
-Final Thoughts- Simeon Woods Richardson did okay tonight. He went 4 2/3 innings and allowed four runs on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Jorge Alcala eventually got out of the fifth, Caleb Boushley threw two shutout innings, and Cole Sands had a scoreless eighth. Griffin Jax had a 1-2-3 ninth and Jhoan Duran gave up four run in 1/3 of an inning. Caleb Thielbar got out of the tenth. Willi Castro and Trevor Larnach led the way with three hits each. Matt Wallner and Carlos Santana had two hits. The Twins hit 4-for-15 with runners in scoring position and left thirteen men on base. Tomorrow, Chris Sale faces David Festa in the series finale .
