This isn’t weird.

Why would it be? What’s weird? Nothing. You’re just nonchalantly returning containers to your neighbor in a super chill, super cool way. Sure, maybe you panicked at the idea of returning empty containers. And yeah, maybe you spent way too much time trying to bake the most perfect cookies ever. But you totally don’t have a freezer full of mistakes that you’ll be slowly whittling your way through. Of course not, that would be ridiculous. 

The stairs creek as you reach the landing leading to Carmy’s door. Your hands are full so you elect to kick the bottom corner of the door instead of a knock. Carmy is quick to answer, a smile spreading across his face as he sees you. 

“Hey- sorry, I didn’t text first. I just uh, wanted to return these?” You smile sheepishly, shifting the containers in your arms. 

“Sure, yeah come in.” He says, stepping aside to let you in. 

His apartment looks similar to yours. A short hallway leads to a kitchen and living area. The kitchen to the right is walled off completely from the living room. His walls are white, no photos, no posters, and he doesn’t even have hooks for his coats. You peek at his living room, simple furniture but not much else. It looks like he just moved in.

“Kitchen’s over here.” He says, guiding you to your right. 

He has an island, your kitchen doesn’t have that. You carefully place the containers into the center.

“You have butcher block counters? How’d you get Randy to install this?” You gape, running your hand over the wood.

He scoffs in response “Randy didn’t do shit, it’s a cart.” He explains, tapping his foot to the side. A hollow sound rings out. 

“Oh, wow. Fooled me.” You smile. He laughs.

“So…” Carmy interjects, gesturing to the containers. “Whatcha’ got?” 

“Cookies. Nothing special.” You say, poking the lid of the tallest deli container. 

He pops open the container, picking the first cookie on the top and biting into it. “S’pretty good.” He says between bites. 

“You think? I uh, browned the butter n’stuff. Tried to make them fancy.” You say, digging the toe of your sneaker into the tile.

Your eyes wander around his kitchen as he eats. He keeps it clean, that’s for sure. The counters are bare save for a knife block and a roll of paper towels. His sink is empty, your eyes finally land on the dish rack. A pot, two plates, and two wine glasses stare back at you. You hate how your stomach twists, quit being weird. 

Carmy makes a face like he’s focusing, waving his hand around vaguely as he chews. 

“Cinnamon?” He says finally. 

“What?” You ask, snapping back to reality.

“In the cookies.” He says, clearing his throat awkwardly. “Did you put cinnamon in them?”

“Oh, yeah. It’s good, right?” You give him a tight-lipped smile as your mind goes into overdrive. 

You don’t even hear his response, all you can think about is who he had in here. He probably made her dinner, something nice. He probably walked her through the whole thing, talking about every ingredient, and explaining each step. If he made her dinner it’s probably serious, right? It must be, you don’t just do that as the first date. You rub your thumb over the surface of the butcher block counter, tracing the same deep cuts over and over. 

You focus your eyes back on Carmy and he’s staring. Why’s he staring, what the fuck is he staring at. His mouth moves again and you don’t quite catch it. Oh shit, you’re in the middle of a conversation. What was he even talking about? Fuck, think of something to say, anything-

“Can I uh, use your bathroom?” The words fumble out of your mouth before you can stop them. 

Okay, maybe not anything. 

“Oh, yeah sure,” Carmy responds, cocking his head to the side a bit. He nods towards the hallway. “First on your left.” 

“Thanks.” You breathe, crossing the kitchen quickly. 

You shut the door behind you, taking a moment to steady yourself. It isn’t weird to use your neighbor's bathroom, is it? No. Of course not. The bathroom is small, the fan blows obnoxiously as your eyes skim the space.

 One step forward, you glance towards the toilet. No waste bin, no pads. That’s a good sign. You’re snooping, that’s weird. You shake off your thoughts as you peer into the tub, hands clasped behind your back. It isn’t snooping if you don’t move anything. You’re just seeing. Three-in-one shampoo, body wash, loofah. 

She isn’t here often, maybe it wasn’t as serious as you thought. Now you’re speculating, that’s weirder.

You turn to the sink, the final test. Not a test, you’re not testing anything. Hand soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss - huh, didn’t peg him for a flosser. You smile to yourself as you reach over to the toilet and give it a flush to cover your tracks. You run the sink and wash your hands. 

Maybe it was nothing, maybe she didn’t even sleep over. As you dry your hands from the situation, you step forward only to be met with a small metallic click. Your gaze shifts to the tile, scooting your sneaker back to reveal a small golden hoop earring.  You reset your jaw before kicking it under the lip of the sink, out of sight. Good luck, girl.

Now that all the main cast's unique magic has been shown, can you make a ranking on your favorite unique magic from most to least favorite? Would be favorite unique magic from each dorm but felt some feels unfair especially Ignihyde when Ortho is confirm unable to have his own. You can include the other characters like Chenya, Rollo, Skully, and Fellow.

Originally I was gonna ask about your top favorite dreams, overblot boys' dream outfit, and chapter 7 SSRs (excluding the main Diasomonia uniforms), but there is chance there will be more dreams in upcoming chapter since some people theorize that we might see both Silver's and Malleus's now that Ace's UM is shown. Even a possibility of Silver having an SSR card. So I will be holding this question once chapter 7 is over.

To briefly explain what is mentioned in the second ask and the second paragraph of first ask, some fans theorize that with Ace’s new UM (which seemingly allows him to borrow, copy, or swap UM with a target?), he could use Malleus’s magic against him or on other characters too. This could potentially allow us to see his dream and/or Silver’s. As far as I could tell it though, there doesn’t seem to be a purpose for doing this provided by theorists yet.

Aaand with that aside, here’s my personal ranking of the UMs, with explanations for each below. It’s not numerical, but rather tiers. This is primarily based on how practical or fun I think the UMs would be to my daily life, NOT based on power level or some other metric.

“Useful overall”

Snake Whisper/Snake Charmer — At the risk of sounding slightly unhinged, this would make life in general easier. Shockingly few drawbacks or limitations too. (Big surprise, the person who says they are similar to Jamil puts Jamil’s UM as at the top…)

I See You/Arrow Afar — As someone that easily gets lost while traveling and easily loses things, this UM sounds like a godsend. Just tag whatever you want to locate and you’re good to go!

Far Cry Cradle — The idea of experiencing stories by touching a random object is so fascinating. Endless entertainment but could also help with answering questions. Bonus: reminds me of the Dimensional Scream from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers games.

“Fun to experiment with”

Doodle Suit/Paint the Roses — The simple act of being able to change the smell, taste, or texture of something would make dietary restrictions so much easier to deal with. Other applications would be nice for comfort too, like adjusting the perception of brightness or loudness just for yourself in a group setting like a movie or concert. (There’s some ominous fan works and theories about Trey being able to use his UM to overwrite others’ emotions or thoughts too, but I’m only sticking to what he is shown to be capable of in canon.)

Split Card — I’d wanna see how many clones can be made at once and what each is physically and mentally capable of. (We already know the magical power of the original and the clones goes down, so what about other parameters?) Useful for multitasking.

Joker Snatch — It's basically the same has having multiple UMs. Would fuck around and find out what this sucker is capable of. :9

Fairest One of All — Such a flexible and customizable UM, honestly. You can basically set whatever conditions you like, just be careful about the wording because the curses get pretty locked in.

Meet in a Dream — The idea of hopping around dreams and seeing what weird shit goes on in people's heads sounds so fun! Then you can embarrass them about it in the waking world :>

Not All My Head —Ultimate stealth... You can bypass into some of the most secure places in the world just for the lols 🤣 or, y'know... sneak into the kitchen to steal some snacks or something.

“Messing with the forces of nature because fuck you, that’s why”

King’s Roar — Could be used for a fight, but also to clear an area. What's that? Destruction of nature/property? Potential for murder? IT'S OKAY, JUST BREATHE IN THE SAND PARTICLES FLUTTERING IN THE BREEZE AND DON'T CHOKE :))

Oasis Maker — Need clean water to drink? BOOM. Want to water your garden? BOOM. Making a random swimming pool? BOOM. Maximum output for minimum effort.

Fae (of) Maleficence — You become a literal god of time and space. Scary amount of potential for control.

“The trail mix where I pick out the bits I like and leave the gross stuff in there”

Laugh with Me — Not really useful unless for small pranks or you + the target are in a convenient location already (since you'd have to take steps forward to get the target to do the same).

Sleep Kiss/Crimson Slumber — Can be protective (but can't seem to be cast on the self, only on others). Also useful to put people to sleep. Would like to use to send my pet or loud neighbors to sleep early instead of staying up late and bothering me :v

Living Bolt — Very good for an extra boost of speed and/or power if in a rush or in a desperate situation. Unfortunately comes with electrical side effects so that's... not optimal.

Scary Night — Basically Off with your Head but also limits your movement, so I consider it an upgrade with applications besides just combat. Wonder what happens if you cook with those pumpkin’d people or smash the pumpkin on the ground… Is that instadeath? Gruesome to think about, but unsure of since we see so little of the UM in action.

“Requires rizz”

It’s a Deal and Life is Fun — Same reasoning for both; takes a certain amount of charisma to pull these UMs off and if you lack that then this magic sucks. Would be useful if you did have these characters’ sway though.

“Fistfighting central”

Off with your Head — Could shut down a hostile party’s magic, but if you’re not as trigger happy as Riddle is then how often would you realistically use this? And if the target has no magic then this basically does nothing.

Bet the Limit/Double Down — Assuming you’re not already dead from the blows you’ve already eaten and/or you can aim properly and get that shot in before you wipe??? Okay, sure 😂

Bind the Heart — Only deflects magical blows. Physical hits will still pass. Would get my ass beat anyway.

Dark Fire — Primarily useful only for combat, which most people don’t get up to on a regular basis. Must be a true hater or be surrounded by true haters to get the most power out of this. What happens if everyone holds hands and sings a song at you? Do you just pathetically whimper and die out in a pile of ashes/j

“Not a furry, don’t @ me”

Unleash (the) Beast — The idea of a big furry... creature... charging at me makes me want to run and hide 🤢 Could have its use for strength and speed, but… I still don’t want a massive dog around.

“This could have been an email”

Shock the Heart — Nothing a reasonable amount of blackmail research cannot do. Has so many limitations (eye contact, only one use per person, target may resist/refuse anyway, etc.) you may as well need a PhD in order to manufacture plans to effectively use this UM.

“So niche it has like no practical application”

Gate to (the) Underworld — Y-You just… open and close a door to a pit of Phantoms. Discounting opening the pit to retrieve Phantoms to test or experiment on, why would you not just keep this closed all the time and just never use this UM 💀

in the old days, before the knowledge of blood types, it made humans they could feed on absolutely precious. they're kept safe, pampered and doted on; a vampire’s most prized possession

attacking another vampire's human is seen as the highest insult; not only is it a slight against them, it also carries the implication of "i want you to starve"

it's also used as the cruelest of punishments; starving a vampire for months, until they're feral with hunger just for their torturer to throw in a random human, watching them desperately suck down poison, their instincts begging them to keep drinking even as it kills them

ghost is one of the few who survived it; thrown in a pit so deep, he saw stars in the middle of the day, left with nothing but the dried bodies of the humans roba drained without care, others with their throats slit, blood he can't drink spilled out around them

a taunt of the one thing he needs but will never get

but ghost hasn't survived this long just to give up here

he refuses to die in this stinking, rotted pit

ghost is a force of nature as he descends over roba's manor; killing any who wander into his path until the halls run red. until he gets his hands on roba and tells him a secret:

vampires can feed on the blood of any vampire, regardless of blood type

it becomes a legend in vampire high society; if you starve another, you'd best make sure they actually die

otherwise you might end up piled in a dining room, the vampire you left for dead lounging on a throne of corpses with his fangs lodged in your throat

ghost decimates roba's empire, burning it to the ground until no one dares to speak his name in fear of incurring his wrath. it's incredibly taboo for a vampire to feed off another but ghost's too powerful for anyone to challenge him and the other vampires are too scared to try. scared of what he's willing to do, the lengths he'll go to; not that they'll ever admit it

soap is the first human he ever brings to court; delicately bathed in the finest silks and jewels, his throat always bare so he can show off ghost's ownership, his bite framed in lace

he's not like the delicate waifs the other vampires show off; he doesn't cling to his master, demure and submissive. he shows off his teeth as often as any vampire, fully willing to rip out the throats of any who insult him or ghost

𝐃𝐏𝐱𝐃𝐂 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭 — 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧

Danny gets stabbed on his way home from campus, caught unaware and doesn’t have time for a reaction other than reflexively lashing out after he feels the pain and ends up knocking the thug out with one hit (barely remembering to pull his punch enough not to actually brain the guy). He’s not too worried about the wound and the knife is even still buried in his side (which, score, he’s building up quite a collection) so he’s ready to just pull it out and continue on his way home (laundry is going to be a bitch and he’s debating if he should just use this shirt as a rag now and buy a new one later) when fucking Red Hood drops down from the sky and nearly makes Danny involuntarily turn invisible (like he’s 14 again and doesn’t know how to use his powers, like come on dude pull yourself together).

Red Hood takes a look at this guy who he just saw get stabbed and punch the lights out of a thug at least three times his size and is thoroughly impressed and also strangely worried because the kid doesn’t even look phased (which like, it’s Gotham, he knows most residents are fairly desensitized to crime but being stabbed normally warrants a stronger reaction from even the native Gothamites). And then he catches sight of the wound and even in the dim light of the alley they’re in he can tell something is wrong and suddenly he’s seeing the same green the guy is bleeding tinged around the edges of his vision and fuck. He hasn’t had a Pit Episode in a while and he really really hasn’t missed the boiling, festering rage.

Meanwhile Danny is wondering wtf is going on and if Red Hood is going to say anything or let him go, when he gets the worst Ghost Sense he’s had since leaving Amity but it’s not normal; it’s too intense and makes his stomach whirl in nausea and everything in him is screaming WRONG WRONG WRONG —

— and then the pieces slot into place and he realizes that it’s stemming from the vigilante in front of him who has green seeping from behind the eyes of his helmet and Danny feels such an ache of sorrow and fierce protection that it makes his breath catch and he knows he has to help this guy who is so clearly like himself but not quite right.

He invites Red Hood back to his apartment after calming him down and making the vigilante furiously curious and thrown off by, well, everything about Danny (who casually pulls the knife out as they walk as if it’s an afterthought that he forgot about and not a gaping wound on his person).

And they go from there, getting to know each other and helping Jason clear out the last of the Pit and come to terms with the whole ghost concept, etc, etc…

idk i do like hearing peoples perspectives and arguments about transfeminism, but i believe what i believe about it because the arguments for it are effective and the evidence we have supports their conclusions. yea they also help me conceptualize events in my life through a transfeminist lens but that is what theoretical frameworks are For, they begin with the evidence and describe the experience.

i think semantic arguments and talk of empty unity and dismissing through sexualization are just as much tactics of argumentation and to me they're are highly ineffective in doing anything but making the people using them look good to an uninformed observer. its the reason we say a lot that some people here have a "vibes based politics" because it's clear from their arguments and rhetoric that they think of these arguments as a way to display an image rather than to actually have a discussion.

thats why im pissy and get upset and block people, they're just wasting peoples time for their own egos rather engaging with any of these concepts or acknowledging that what they know might not be totalizing. the desperation to have a perfect unsullied and intelligent image is why posts like mine pointing out a subtle dogwhistle will get backlash that amounts to telling me i'm making it up. i am communicating to them that there is a piece of knowledge that they might not have considered or even known is offensive to them so they reach for reactionary defenses instead of treating the trans woman in front of them like a person

Circling back to my Werewolf! Stone AU idea, I think it would also be interesting to have him become a Werewolf post Sonic 3 as a "I need to figure out a way to kill that fucking hedgehog so I can avenge my bf" and he's like "If you can't beat em, join em." And he tried to genetically enhance himself to stand a better chance against them and be more on their level (rather than just a human with gadgets like rn and how Robotnik was) but it goes wrong and he ends up a furry (a werewolf) and now he's a werewolf trying avenge his bf.

Plot twist if Robotnik is still alive and finds him just to see what Stone has done to himself because of him. Seeing how far Stone is willing to dedicate himself to him even in "death", he would do ANYTHING for him.

Two sides of the same coin because the fact of the matter is, he is both. Things have to be destroyed to recreate them from the ground up. Freedom has it's costs. And while there is a black and white side to things, there are also all of the shades of gray in between!

So he is just "Nika" to most, but if someone need something more specific, why couldn't they call on a more specific aspect?

You could also frame this as how different people view him. Tbh I'm just rambling, but I thought this could be a cool concept.

Thing-On-A-String Well, it's certainly a thing— and on a string, no less. Some might say it resembles some kind of fuzzy worm, but any practical value it may hold is unclear.
