Hi all, I wanted to make this post to set some gentle boundaries when it comes to my au.

I’ve had a few interactions like this now, and I’d rather make a post explaining my boundaries to prevent it from happening more.

This is not directed at one specific person. It has happened a few times with different people. I may reference experiences but the post in general isn’t directed.

Okay, to the point. Please do not make unsolicited comments criticising my designs/animal pick for characters. Especially if it’s a finished design. If you’re not happy with my choices, you have free will- pick up a pencil and make your own.

This includes backhanded compliments such as “this is cool, but I’d prefer if they were a ___” and “I’ll only see (character) as an (animal) but…”

While they may not be intended as such, these come off as rude and really hurt my feelings. You may know by now that I put a lot of thought and effort into every single design I’ve put out.

There are multiple factors, not just their personality and their looks. I take into consideration the dynamics they have with other characters, their behaviour, the way they move, their trap, etc. Some characters are designed with an overarching motif, for example, Wrath of the Gods (ty to the ppl who corrected me) are based on street animals, vermin, and each character will fall into that category. Adam and Lawrence? Cat and dog dynamic. Hoffman and Strahm? Competitors. Biological enemies. You get the gist.

Either way, I care a lot about my designs and for someone to invalidate them blatantly does hurt my feelings! And it does stick in my head for a while. In short, think about what you’re typing before you hit send. It may mean nothing to you but I assure you it means something to me.

If I am looking for advice on a characters design, I’ll ask for it! Suggestions on these posts are okay! As well as on concept sketches of a new design.

My asks are also open for anyone curious about lore and why I picked an animal for a character etc.

I love talking about it so please ask me!! If I don’t respond to your ask about a specific character it just means I don’t have art of them yet, please don’t think I’m ignoring you out of malice; I have a few asks I yearn to respond to in my inbox rn but I just need to draw something for em!

If you have said something like this and I ask you not to because it’s rude, please just apologise and promise you won’t do it again. Do not argue with me and make me feel stupid/belittle me for my boundaries. That adds salt into the wound and you will be blocked.

I will not dislike you or hate you for a misstep; it’s just about respecting me and my art.

On that note, I don’t condone people comparing my au to other animal AUs, or other artists in general. Do not tell another artist mine is better than theirs or vice versa. That is also rude and frankly, toxic. We are all human beings and deserve to be respected.

Having said all this, I want to say that if you have your own animal au; please don’t be scared to tell me about it! I love hearing and seeing others interpretations of the characters, all are valid in their own unique ways.

I also do not mind if you draw yours interacting with mine, in fact I love it! So don’t be scared to show me.

And lastly, I want to shout out some very cool people that also have animal aus for you all to enjoy!!

Divine Nugget Au

(Rant as to why I chose the White-throated Needletail as Blurr's bird and some minor AU lore under the cut)

And that's not all! It comes with a FULL FLEDGED COMIC!!!!!

I spent a whole fucking week on this

I haven't done a comic in 4 years now, I can't believe this is my come-back XD. Though, on that note, know that I probably won't be pumping out any more comics - not any time soon, at least. But I do got more stuff planned for this au! If you ask about it, I'll 100% rant about it LOL

While exploring the woods with his team, Swerve had an unfortunate encounter with a crazed hunter. In an attempt to escape, he got injured, but it seems he wasn't the only one caught in the crossfire...

Okay

So when you look up what the fastest bird in the world is, Google with show the Peregrin Falcom

But there's a catch

The Peregrine is only fast when diving

When it dives to catch its prey, it can go up to 389km/h

Which yeah, pretty fast

But when casually flying, it only goes up to 120 iirc

The Needle Tail?

It can go up to 170km/h

Some have even recorded going over 300! (Close to the Falcon's dive, I believe)

Additionally, these birds only fly. Their habitat is literally listed as "the air," and some even believe they sleep while flying! They only ever land to brood and mate, and then they're off again. Their legs are so short that, if they ground, they can't fly again because it doesn't give enough room to flap their wings.

It fits Blurr perfectly!

It also has a blue-ish colour pattern I can work with lol (it's green, but it looks blue, lol)

Though, also, he isn't 100% like the Needle Tail, just based off of it. I still want avians to be sorta their own species and doesn't have to be exactly like their bird counterparts cuz they aren't them, they're their own thing.

That said, Blurr is one of the shortest from Avians population, still.

They're pretty big.

Another trivial detail of the design!

I was stuck between having his arms be his wings or have them be separate

Until I saw a drawing where they had both, and I realised, "Wait, why isn't that done more often! That's so cool!"

So that's sorta what I did

It's mainly to catch small prey when grounded and to stay better perched up on trees since they're much bigger and having extra fingers helps a lot. Or when they're climbing against a tree to pick up fruits, it gives them an extra boost and can better hang from it

But they're pretty much useless besides that lol

Just neat lil design choice

Other lore stuff. The time in which the au takes place is vaguely modern? But with fantasy aspects? I still haven't decided lol

Technology exists, but not in the way we have it sort of deal, idk, this au is pretty bare bones right now, so go wild with it XD I don't mind it, I love brainstorming it with people. I know this au isn't as big or complex as some others out there, but it's fun, and I hope yall like it too fjsjajaj

Esims for Gaza Poster Graphics

Ending on my own art hahaha! I've been doing what little I can to make poster graphics for our cause since July of 2024. I never would have expected them to end up wheatpasted around Canada! I'll also be updating this pack with new assets or updated information when I can. Use these graphics and characters however you like, just be sure to send me pictures!

And that ends our round up of Palestine themed projects! This should be plenty to keep you busy for a few evenings, but that's only some of the over 200 projects submitted to our bundle! There's plenty more hidden treasure in there, but that may be for another day. This post is already getting to "color of the sky" length anyways.

Valentine's is Over! What now?

Gen writing update

I had a few requests come in after they closed (no worries to those who did so! I know it was a little confusing regarding such) so i'll be writing those when i get the chance and sending them out into the world, beyond that however, any request-based things are closed (for now) if I get any during this closed period I'm sorry but I'll have to ignore them/not do them. I'm too busy with life/other wips to add them to my list, sorry!

Holiday Spirit is going to be my writing focus for the next couple weeks! It's about halfway done and I'd like it finished so I can move on with things lol

Confused spirit is going to take a bit, as like i've said before I'm writing multiple chapters back to back for the purpose on ensuring proper flow/building my buffer back up, i know it's been a bit but believe me it's been on my mind guhh

In general i have some shorter form content/drabbles & oneshots I want to write, so be on the lookout for those >:)c

Going Dark

I was saving this for the end just because it sounds worse than it actually is.

I'm going to take a break from posting/tumblr/etc for about a week or two and spend some extra hours doing my research stuff. I'm not behind or anything (and def always put it and school first dw) but I kind of want to try and get ahead with it just because of how strict my timeline to finish is 😅

I also just want a bit of a break from constantly writing and maybe do some other hobbies when im not on the research grind. I'll be back at it (again more casually) in a few weeks tho!

Sonic Drawing Requests! (Closed)

Hello! I've been in a Sonic mood lately, so I decided to open up some Sonic-themed requests for anyone interested. I haven't done requests in a quite a while, so it'll be nice to get back to my roots ^^ (When I started posting online I drew a lot of requests).

I do have some rules to keep it clean:

I prefer visual references if possible. If you'd like any particular pose or action you want the character to do, feel free to let me know.

I can refuse your request for any given reason.

If you want your request to remain anonymous, please tell me beforehand.

I'm more than willing to draw fan OCs as long as they are appropriate.

Couple and shipping art is allowed as long as it's appropriate.

Machines/vehicles/robots/etc. are not my forte but I will still give it a crack (I'd like to draw Omega at some point).

Absolutely NO explicitly sexual content/porn/fetish art, DO NOT ASK. I am fine with slightly suggestive stuff (i.e jokes, poses), but nothing over that.

You are more than willing to share and/or use the art for personal reasons as long as you credit.

ONE request per person. If you'd like more art from me, I do commissions if you're interested.

I will draw you a basic thumbnail for your confirmation (these are very vague sketches to just pinpoint the pose).

Once you confirm the pose, I will ask you to donate and I will get to work

Send me a screenshot of the e-mail confirming your donation (blur out/colour over any personal info!), or the “Thank you for your donation!” screen if there is no e-mail

You get your drawing in exchange!

welcome one and all to my apparent attempt at killing my writer’s block. 

hi, I’m nagi (@miss-naginata), whom like five people total may know as naginata_gay_edition on the Archive of Our Own. simply put, polydokis has been on my mind recently. I haven’t had much energy for actual, proper writing even as the blorbos embed themselves into each ridge and crevice of my brain, and my solution appears to be this. I hope you have fun.

This polycule consists of all four girls plus a transfem MC. in here you’ll be seeing little dialogue bits, maybe a ficlet or two, and some occasional lore dumps extracted fresh from my friends’ DMs after I yap at them for long enough.

There will not be any NSFW content. I might get very mildly suggestive if I’m ever ballsy enough, but please don’t count on that or demand that from me. Feel free to send asks but also please treat me like a little glass doll if you do that ty /lh

General Stuff

This AU takes place a good few years after the Literature Club happened (with some major alterations on that). In a sense, this whole thing is basically an alternate timeline to a fic I own - Of Wounds That Mend - and which I have not yet finished at all. Does this count as spoilers? I really hope not.

Everyone is in their twenties, are working jobs (except for one) and are all living an overall pretty normal life. They all have their complexes, occasional issues, but they love each other very much mwah mwah mwah

Monika

Monika works as an analytical chemist and part time girlfriend of five. Work is something that can be stressful (nevermind the work it took to get there), but her occupation is the one which brings the most income and she finds comfort in the fact that she’s dependable. She can be emotionally stunted and is prone to overworking, which has produced a kind of “girl who should be taken care of” title from her lovers. She learns to accept this and becomes all too willing to dive into someone’s arms the moment she gets home. At times she feels some guilt for accepting so much love and care, and it takes much elbow grease for her to realize she does deserve this, not for being the primary breadwinner, but because she’s loved and that’s all there is to it.

Sayori

Sayori is unemployed and, thanks to her self worth issues, feels very guilty for this, often attempting to “compensate” by doing work around the house (to Natsuki’s dismay, she really wants to help with cooking). She has the issue of being somewhat of a people pleaser, which takes some time to iron out as she accepts that she, too, is deserving of things she wants and needs. She’s treated as the oracle of love and affection in the polycule, not because everyone is bad at it in comparison, but because she has an Energy™ that draws everyone in for cuddles and head-scritches.

Natsuki

Natsuki works in a coffee shop with one of her girlfriends. She can be blunt and sassy and has a deep-knit urge to subvert her own feelings, but she’s very intimate and loving when given space. She once possessed a passion for writing that she eventually let go of throughout the years; this was soon reignited by two of her lovers’ shared enjoyment of the art. She enjoys getting into teasing fights with her girlfriends and play-wrestling with some (which, more often than not, ends in a ferocious make-out).

Yuri

Yuri is a trans woman who works entirely at home. She owns a literature critique YouTube channel with a microcelebrity following, but most of her income comes from her part-time job as a writer – every few months when a publisher wants her to work on a book. It is commonly hellish, but she, allegedly, does not regret turning her hobby into a career. Single copies of her books are in her bedroom, and they all have little notes from her lovers, ranging from “I’m so proud of you, love” to “missing hyphen.” She has a habit of being overly meek with her girlfriends, which is spawned from her reluctance to be forward with cisgender women due to internalized dysphoria and from the fact that she is the most recent addition to the polycule – in fact, the only one they didn’t meet in high school. It is, to them, very fun to fluster her and attempt to crack her shell.

Mabel

Mabel is also a trans woman. As implied before, she works a job at a coffee shop with one of her girlfriends, Natsuki. Unlike Yuri, she has not made a career out of writing, but she does do it recreationally. She once was extremely afraid of affection, but after years of prodding from her lovers she has grown to be very mushy with her fellow girls. She and Sayori have a strong bond that the rest of the polycule sometimes admires, sometimes feels jealous of, spawned from the sheer amount of time they’ve known each other for (almost their entire lives), and this is not helped by Sayori’s insistence on making jokes about having dibs on Mabel – and further not helped by Mabel’s insistence on being flustered by this behaviour.

*Mabel is a character originating from one of my fics and I have secretly spent the last few months being unhinged about her.

**also, this isn't exactly a roleplay blog and asks won't be answered in character. you can like, make asks in character if you want, but I won't humor that.

Since you didn’t mentioned if you want to know that about my au or the canonverse, I’ll talk about my Revolutionary Crocodile au only, since in the canonverse Croc left newborn Luffy into Dragon’s arms (literally), and all the context, during the pregnancy and after, is pretty sad I prefer to tell just my au.

But if you are curious about the canonverse anyway, just ask for it! And I’ll share it in another post.

I just wanna add:

- When Luffy said that he wanted to become a pirate to his daddies, Crocodile put his hand on his shoulder and said him: “Go and make me proud”.

- (connect to the one above) Crocodile totally supports his son goal, and hopes he will become king of pirates, realising for Crocodile the dream he had to put aside.

Now about the pregnancy 👀

(A bit of context and then the hcs)

Crocodile had so many doubts about his situation, he surely didn’t think he could have a baby (well Iva mentioned to pay attention to that, but since never happened before Luffy, he thought was not a possibility!)

He decided in the end to call Dragon for telling him about his condition.

He was so afraid Dragon would told him that he didn’t want the baby and to be left by him. But Dragon was so happy! He loves Crocodile so much, he was busy with his duties and wasn’t present (he literally never called him, stupid Dragon) until the day they met.

The draw I’ve made for Croc confession and Luffy’s birth:

After that day, Crocodile and Dragon announced to the other Revolutionaries about the pregnancy and Iva was the most excited of all, they self proclaimed “the baby’s auntie”.

Dragon proposed to Crocodile and asked him to be a revolutionary. Croc was never convinced about that, he loved being a pirate but it was better for the baby if he would have stayed with them.

So they got married (by Kuma) when Crocodile was still pregnant.

Now the hcs!!

- As every pregnant person, Crocodile craved the worst things ever. He already loves Crocodile’s meat, but he asked to combine it with strawberry jam and whipped cream one time.

- Luffy wasn’t a easy pregnancy at all, that kid was always hyperactive.

- Dragon used to caress Croc’s belly while saying him sweet word to him and their baby. Croc loved it a lot, and one time he even cried. But he said that was because something got in his eye.

- Crocodile soon as he understood that he was pregnant, he stopped smoking. He struggled a lot for that, he needed to smoke, but he cared for his baby’s safety the most.

- Iva checked weekly Crocodile and Luffy’s conditions, and they also discovered with their powers the baby’s gender (hc i have about their powers).

- Crocodile’s body wasn’t made of sand, because his baby couldn’t survive in a body made of pure element. But he could use his powers anyway, but without transforming.

- While alone, Croc loved to put his hand on his belly and listen to his son’s movements. It was a moment just between them. He even talked to Luffy. He was so excited to met him.

- Since Luffy’s birth was getting hard, Kuma after seeing Crocodile suffering so much, he taken away his pain using his powers.
