The speaker walks back to the podium as the camera connected to the projector slowly zooms out in that jerky way old VHS camcorders always did, revealing the line of assorted Hyena people all showing off their penises. There's not really any distinction between them other than some minor size variations and one circumcised instance (but I'm not saying who)

"Alright! Hopefully that clears the air and makes it much clearer how to tell apart the different sorts of genitals we furry-hyenas have. Ok, this made me emotional again so let me talk a bit about what led to it.

Season 13 was the last Greys season I watched live (I sensed immediately where it was going post JTS). I saw April scenes in season 14 but I already knew that the show was done for me after *that* 8th March. I wasnt really on any social media so Im not fully clued in on all the backlash (ik there was alot) but I just closed that chapter & moved on. It still hurt from time to time and I wished only misery on Krista but ah well.

When Sarah's return was announced, I was more wary than anything else because I honest to goodness didnt think anything would come off it so I was pleasantly surprised by how good it turned out (even if, once again, I wish April got to call out Jackson more). But it gave me a sense of peace even though I never thought I'd see them again.

It was their season 18 return announcement that really made me feel like I did back during peak Japril. I felt the endgame within reach & felt that true vindication once it was actually confirmed (& written by Krista, no less. Delicious).

Me and You (and Boston) was an exercise in catharsis for me. I never thought I'd go back to even watching Greys, let alone writing anything. But the fact that we won & the way we did (entirely because of Sarah & Jesse), needed to be celebrated after all the crimes committed against Japril for no fucking reason. So I'm very glad that people loved (& still loves) that fic. It's so very close to my heart & I love that it gives everyone a look into the kind of story we couldve gotten if it wasnt for one person's vendetta.

Steve had been reading all night the huge file on the history of S.H.I.E.L.D., and there was something that caught his attention since the first time you took him to the Triskelion. Maybe in those documents was the answer: why was the chosen symbol an spread eagle?

"Steve, didn't you sleep?" You asked as you descended the stairs.

"I slept for many years; the last thing I need right now is sleep," Steve answered.

"Still, did you spend all night reading?" I don't know what you're reading.

"I have a lot of doubts, so I decided to do some research." Steve did not take his eyes off the documents.

"If it's something related to technology, I can help you," you said; after all, that was one of your powers.

"No, I'm looking for an answer."

"If you tell me, I might know the answer."

"Why did you choose this symbol?" Steve questioned you, showing you the S.H.I.E.L.D. symbol.

You squinted your eyes; you had never wondered; and you didn't remember that they had explained it at the academy. You took the documents and began to review them. Through all the years, despite the variations, the only thing that was always the same was the eagle with spread wings.

"Well, I don't know, maybe they thought it was pretty or they saw a photograph or an eagle."

"Then there is no explanation."

"Well, I think it's because they liked it."

"Or maybe there's a poetic reason."

"Or we'll never know the truth, but what I do know is that I'm hungry and it's breakfast time."

"I made pancakes; I didn't burn the kitchen this time," Steve said, getting up to go serve breakfast..

*So, this word has different meanings, I checked in several dictionaries before writing this one shot, and found at least 15 different meanings, of course, depending on the context you use the word. According to Collins English dictionary:

i beat armored core 6! as someone who has long, long gone on record as a "souls-like disliker", and has never touched armored core before now- AC6 FUCKIN' RULES.

i think comparisons to dark souls and the ilk are... kinda fair, considering that's what fromsoft's been best known for the past how many years. understandable at minimum. in that vein, speaking on dark souls to expand on my feelings... it's basically just how fuckin painfully sluggish it is. no matter why it's like that, that's just something i can't really deal with in a video game. that and i've always been exceedingly turned off by the purported difficulty of the genre... in combination with the aforementioned especially.

by my knowledge, armored core 6's similarities to soulslikes begins and ends at: -you can be pretty sluggish depending on your build -there's a lot of difficult boss fights -made by fromsoft games. i think i had something else to put here originally but i forgot it -you can customize a thing pretty much however you like i guess

let me tell you, my friends, i have a need for speed imprinted in my soul, and armored core 6 DELIVERS. even when i made bulkier ACs for heavier weapons that stuff could MOVE if you knew how to move it... and the parts to use i guess (more under the cut)

This game goes fast. half the time, working by the arena's standards, i could kill an enemy AC in around 50 seconds. and those fights with enemy ACs are frenetic and fun as hell. not to mention the grander bosses in the game! they're often difficult fights, yes, but i never felt discouraged even once.

one thing i found particularly exciting was just the number of options- even if i only really ended up using a handful, lol. i was sort of surprised by how most weapons and even some parts can last you pretty much the whole game if the build's effective enough- my primary ACs all ended up being a Double Trigger build using the gatling guns. in fact, up until near the end of the game when i decided to expand my horizons just a bit, that and variations of it were all i would use- And i used the single same head for basically the whole game.

for my build with the lightest double jointed legs (and at the start in general), i had to use the first machine guns you unlock, because i was a maniac for lots of missiles and they got pretty weighty. but i ended up eventually unlocking double joint legs with comparable enough performance that could handle more weight, and, well... it was gatling gun city from then on.

and, even with the gatling guns and the twenty missiles, those builds stayed pretty freaking quick! whether i was using the lightweight tank treads or double jointed legs, it was showtime all the time, and i rained hellfire. ... i did tend to run clean out of ammo a fair number of times though, at least in the mid-game.

i forget whether it was here or twitter, but i saw a post somewhere not long before i started playing the game that- to sum it up succinctly- basically amounted to "best thing to do is keep the enemy in your sights and stay out of your enemy's sights, so build for fast movement + evasion". and i definitely took it to heart, at least subconsciously... and, i mean, let's be real- i probably woulda gone for builds like that anyways, being me.

on that note, the game is very newcomer friendly, i think- once you get over the first hurdle of the boss in the intro mission, anyways. the tutorials, and tutorial missions especially, were quite thorough, handed out in parts so as not to overwhelm. and exact info on any of the many different stats to each AC part were only a few buttons away in the building menu. not to mention the ease of which you can build an AC and then get right to testing it- even so far as to be able to hop into the assembly menu from testing, and go right back with nary even a loading screen. Real good shit.

to make a long post short, this game let me play as an approximation of chris yukine if she were a mecha, and that is a very powerful thing to put in my hands, and i'm very glad i decided on a whim to buy this game from a series my datefriend really likes.

Why is Reinochi called Reinochi? I've seen you mention there was like an official first draft/initial sketch thing somewhere on the internet where it said Tobi's name was originally going to be Inochi (the worst idea I've heard in a while, glad it didn't become true) but it didn't happen in the end so why does the ship name look like that?

Oks so the thing about the first draft of his name is not entirely true? Let me explain, Inochi was the placeholder name Mariyasu gave him in the character sheets for InT, the original Tobi name in the first manga draft was Unmei , those are two different things just wanted to point that out to leave any confusion out. Now the reason why I call it reinochi is pretty simple, I’ve been around long before the manga came out so yeh I saw how the first chapters got posted and all that I saw that manga start, and at the beginning Tobi didn’t have a name (as you can see his name is not mentioned in the first chapters he’s in) so most fans agreed his name was gonna be Inochi bc that’s what Mariyasu called him so that had to be the name right? And bc we reached that same conclusion we just called the ship “Reinochi”. Now, when the name Tobi was first shown (which mind you the first mention of that name wasn’t in the manga, it was in an Eve insta story) the discord server I was in was really conflicted about the name bc truth to be told we all collectively thought it was dumb and stupid, it took a while for it to grow on me but it did with time. Now, in that server the name Tobi was blacklisted, we couldn’t say it at all so we could only refer to Tobi as either Inochi or Otogiri so we stick with Inochi, saying “Reitobi” ot Tobirei” wasn’t really allowed in that server since we couldn’t say the word Tobi so reinochi was like the go to word for the ship

You may ask, but juju you still can say it in the internet also you aren’t in that server anymore? And I’ll answer you well yeh that’s true but like idk I like how reinochi rolls like Rei ends with an i and Inochi starts with an i I mean that works and I like it! It reminds me of shuake, the ship of the persona 5 protagonist and Akechi, who despite having a canon name (two canon names actually) neither of them are part of the ship name

Also controversial take but like “Reitobi” and “Tobirei” sound kinda dumb to me LMAO like not saying you cannot use them you can! But idk I don’t like how they sound I’m just so used to Reinochi and I will die in the Reinochi hill

How much i want to post my char x oc pairing with Caiman (caimanether - caither), now I did. A little wall of text

I'll start with these first i think bcs I need time to comply them into one post instead of dripping some pics here and there like I did on other socials, I draw a lot about them really.

My OC name is Ether (white hair), she's Caiman subordinate and secretly (everyone knows, actually) her wifey/gfy.

Accidentally saw them next to together in my phone gallery (upper pic) and twitter media tab (below pic), you guys really love each other right...

Their icon is 🐊☁️ as for Caiman is the crocodile variation (they really meant it, I check Korean dialogue logs and the letters really wrote Caiman as called the animal), and Ether means "the air" as well as she's based on one of my OC in Sky COTL, plus she looks as fluffy as the cloud itself.

I'll tag posts about them as # caimanether, caither or 🐊☁️, there are specific tags in languages that utilizes Latin alphabet or different writing systems that have their own importance lore-wise; ill write them under the tag section so you could give a look (save for the Chinese tags, all tags are set - I'll may or may not make changes to it later on). The tags are for claim, when I post it'll mostly be caither that gets to appear frequently.

About their relationship? I created this ship solely as a method of mental healing for myself so I don't care much about a specific love line, I could put them into any situation I prefer but there's one thing that's eternal is they're obsessed with each other (oh my wifeys...). And uh, high sexual tendencies, I am extra serious.

However, a story and canon universe love line will be developed when I felt like it, they - as carriers of my mental wellbeing - deserves a story as beautiful as they already are together. Ohhh and they have a child, children specifically.

One minor spilling of the beans, Ether is albino, her eyes are cyan coloured, she's Nepali coded, did distorted and had an EGO design and her lore will be based on the Gurkhas and surrounding the [REDACTED] in general, stay tuned till all the secrets, reveal. I'm still in the researching phase, plus this is fictional so I may draw or describe real life-based details wrong. Correction will gradually be made as I process, right now only appreciating love is matter.

That’s (mostly) a wrap on Buried Stars - some final thoughts

I’ve now reached the endings for Routes A, B, and C in Buried Stars, the mystery game/suspense visual novel which I previously wrote about in this post here. I guess there are additional “tweaks” I can make to the endings by going back and adjusting certain levels of affinity to get slightly different epilogues, but I don’t know that I have the patient to actually do all of that. I really wish someone out there had just... collected all the possible endings/epilogues into one video or something. Alas, you can barely even find videos of people’ who’ve played this game at all! So uh, I guess I won’t see any additional epilogues/ending variations beyond what I’ve already seen. I got a couple alternate versions of the endings to Routes B and A before nailing the “best” outcome, but I didn’t get all of them.

And it especially sucks because UUUUUUUUUUUUNNNH I loved this game. It’s one of those games that gets me feeling depressed and lost when it’s over, because it’s SO good and SO engaging that suddenly being without these characters and their drama has me weirdly bereft. Suffice it to say that this was another game that left me dying for more content. If there was an actual fandom out there, I’d think I’d even write fanfic for it. It was SO good. 

And even without containing nearly as much humor, I think it’s an easy contender for the “If you like Danganronpa, you might like... “ game list.

All my homies are paranoid and depressed.

In particular, I’d like to see a fic that explores the aftermath and impact of Route B’s ending. How do the eventual revelations affect the survivors, why did certain characters make the decisions they did, etc. I think that’s the most compelling Route in terms of where it could go and what exactly is going to happen.

Random aside, but I find the opening screen of the game funny with how it’s like “This game bears no resemblance to real persons living or dead, and also our pretend social media platform isn’t based on any existing real social media platform either.” Because “Phater” is quite BLATANTLY Twitter.

In fact, I have SEVERAL questions still rolling around my brain after wrapping things up.

In Route B, what the hell was in the culprit’s note? What was his request for Do-yoon? I assume it was something like “Tell people the truth about what I did and explain the following things” or some damn thing, but I don’t know. It could’ve just as easily been the opposite and said “Tell everyone else this fake cover story for me, and then privately apologize to Hyesung.” It’s deliberately left wide open to interpretation. All we know for sure is that, whatever it was, Do-yoon didn’t feel like he could actually do it. He opted for silence and inaction. And given Do-yoon’s strong leaning towards wanting THE TRUTH and being unable to let go of knowing THE TRUTH in Route A, that feels like a weird character choice. Maybe he just lacks the confidence to face the truth in Route B, but Route A drove him to carry more strength. Even though he saw a lot more devastating things in Route A...

What the actual fuck was Route C?! I guess that’s not a serious question; I just wanted to express my irritation over how it was ultimately just nonsense. I thought it was really atmospheric and disturbing for a short while, and then it just... decides it’s never going to adhere to any logic, internal or external, and do whatever it wants. And when that happens, I rapidly lose interest in what you’re selling me. It shifted from “creepy/disturbing” to “oh, this is just random bullshit. How boring.”  Among the issues are how these hand-things don’t act like any kind of supernatural entity I’ve ever heard of, the final scene is one of those “what really happened?!” vagueass things, and — most notably to me — the whole “Repurposed Pharmaceutical Lab” angle that leads you into this Route is ultimately completely unimportant! This building could’ve just as easily been a bar/pub prior to being made a concert venue, and it’d change nothing about this route.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I realize the answer to this is probably very similar to the answers that we got for “Who is S_Seungyeon” and “Who is PlugHole,” but I still wish we’d received some answers about who Inha’s stalker actually is/was. All we know for sure is who it isn’t. I suppose that plot point was just there to serve as a red herring, but given how we wrap up damn near every other open question that’s ever raised by any of the cast, it feels weird to not have this one reach closure.

Why doesn’t anybody fucking give Seil a hug?!  He’s constantly depressed and on the verge of mental breakdown, people! Including well before anybody was grumpy about his past actions! But most especially in his best Route B epilogue. The man needs it SO damn bad.

The penultimate episode of Loki introduced several new variations on its titular mischief-maker — including Jack Veal's Kid Loki, Deobia Oparei's Boastful Loki, and Tom Hiddleston's ill-fated President Loki. But of all these new faces, perhaps the most memorable was Richard E. Grant's aptly-named Classic Loki — an older, world-weary version of the Asgardian god we know and love.

Decked out in the familiar green-and-yellow suit from the comics, Grant's Loki is older and perhaps a bit wiser than his younger counterparts. Years of isolation have left him disillusioned and lonely, missing his brother Thor, but that spark of mischief is still buried deep underneath — and he ultimately sacrifices himself to help Loki (Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) escape the Void.

It's a delightful showcase for the 64-year-old Grant, who says he's thrilled to be able to carve out his own chaotic corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ahead of the series finale this week, EW caught up with Grant to break down his big sacrifice — as well as his newfound friendship with Owen Wilson and his pitch for a Loki spin-off series.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: To start, I have to ask about your costar: How was working with Alligator Loki?

RICHARD E. GRANT: Alligator Loki was fantastic because in reality, he was three stuffed sofa cushions that had been sewn roughly together to react to. [Laughs] The fact that I was the only person that could understand what he was saying was just fantastic. I think it's the perfect segue into having Classic Old Loki and Alligator Loki as a sub-series to go to next.

So it's safe to say that you would be willing to reprise this character down the line?

If I had a muscle suit, most certainly. I was denied that. I saw the costume design, and I was very familiar with Jack Kirby's original illustrations from the '60s, so I thought, "Ah, this guy's got muscles!" As I had been born without any, I was finally going to get in a muscle suit. I got to Atlanta [to begin filming], and they said, "There's no muscle suit! You're just wearing this!" I said, "But I look like Kermit the Frog!" They said, "Nope, you're not having a muscle suit." So I was very, very upset about that. [Laughs] Short-changed!

I was going to ask about your first impression when you first put on the costume!

That's what I asked: Where are the muscles? Where are the Stallone/Schwarzeneggers here? Because they're missing! This is what people will expect! This was in the costume drawing, and they're not here, and I don't have them! I was very upset.

When they first asked you to join the show, what was that initial pitch like?

I had known Tom Hiddleston socially for some years, and we'd always joked that we could feasibly play father and son because of our vague physical similarities and hairlines, certainly. So when I got this offer at the beginning of last year, before COVID, I thought, "Alright, this is that moment that I had hoped would come at some point." I thought I would play his father, but I'm playing a variant of him. So that's how that came about. I was thrilled.

Tom has been playing his version of Loki for a decade now. Did you get any guidance from him, or have any conversations with him that you found particularly helpful?

He is a walking Loki-pedia, so he was very, very informative about the whole etymology and the history of the Norse gods and Loki. He's also brilliant at imitating people. He goes on chat shows and imitates famous actors absolutely to the letter. I don't have that talent. So when I read the script of episode 5 that I was offered, I saw that [this older version of Loki] described himself in his backstory of being the god of outcasts — rather than the god of mischief, which is so absolutely embedded in Tom's interpretation of the role. So I thought, well, [if he's] the god of outcasts and is somebody who's been isolated for years and living on these planets and is willing to betray himself by going back and being arrested by the TVA and making the ultimate sacrifice, offering himself up to Asgard, I thought, well, this is somebody who is more in the twilight zone of his life, as am I. As opposed to a young man, who's full of mischief still.

So, I thought that was a way into interpreting this character, rather than trying to do — and something I couldn't possibly succeed at doing — a pale imitation of Tom Hiddleston.

I'd imagine that would be tricky, but it would also be a fun challenge: You're basically sharing scenes with all these different versions of the same character.

Exactly right. And I love the fact that he was the one person who could communicate with the alligator. I love that.

So would you now consider yourself fluent in alligator?

Indeed. I am the Doctor Dolittle of the Marvel universe when it comes to speaking to alligators. I speak alligator fluently. Put that in the contract of when I'm doing a series as Classic Old Loki, with muscles and the alligator. It'll have subtitles, so the audience can hear what the alligator is saying, and everyone else is saying, "What is he saying? What is he talking about?" That'll be the way.

I also wanted to ask about your big finale, where we see your Loki conjure Asgard. What do you remember most about filming that final moment?

Huge wind machines, blue screen in every direction, and following a camera on a crane that was maneuvering around the ceiling of the studio, and then swooping down. I was having to shout at it, and then finally laugh in the face of my own immolation. So it was a great thing to do, with these huge air turbine wind machines that were blowing four tons of air at me from every direction. It was exhilarating.

Did you have any practical elements around you at all, or did you have to imagine and conjure it all yourself?

Most of it you had to imagine. The actual landscape that you walked on was real grass and this sort of rocky landscape, but all the other elements — all the ships and all that stuff — was put in afterwards. We didn't see any of that.

The Loki palace that looked like a sort of bowling alley, that was all for real. Everything that you see in that scene was actually built and practical.

Was it chaotic to film in the bowling alley with all those different versions of Loki, bickering and bantering?

Because there was so much action involved, it was paint-dryingly slow, because action takes much longer to do than five pages of dialogue. I prefer talking, as I'm not exactly an action man, as you can see. [Laughs]

Was there anything about joining the Marvel universe that you weren't expecting or that really surprised you?

I didn't expect to find true love with Owen Wilson. We're having a surrogate baby together in October.

Oh, congratulations!

He was just so hilarious to work with. He's just one of the greatest characters I've ever met. He is so open and curious and amenable, with this sort of dry sense of humor. There seemed to be no divide between Owen Wilson acting his part and then just being Owen Wilson. I don't know if he was scamming me, but he was an absolute delight. I loved him.

Was there a particularly memorable day on set with him?

Yes, when we conceived our twins. [Laughs] No, my daughter encouraged me to post this thing on Twitter and Instagram, where he said, "Richard, I'm going to give you some acting advice. Put your camera on." I said, "Yes, okay!" I owe him for that because it got like 640,000 views already in a few days, which on my Instagram feed is off the chart. It's nothing for Beyoncé, but for mine, I'm pretty gobsmacked.

知音 zhī yīn, 知己 zhī jǐ, and why this qín-smashing is so damn painful - a meta thread

知音 ZHIYIN: YU BOYA, ZHONG ZIQI 

 The story of Yu Boya and his 知音 zhī yīn has been passed down orally for centuries. Yu Boya was a renowed qin player, thought to have lived during the Warring States period/Spring Autumn period. He was from the state of Chu.

As you can imagine, after so many years, there are many variations. I have translated the following from here, into a shorter version in English. Some versions are longer, but this is the main gist of it.

Boya was a renowned qín player, yet no one could understand the meaning in his music. He sailed a boat to the mouth of a river, and amidst the beautiful evening scenery he gazed upon the bright moon and played the qín. After some time, Boya discovered an appreciative woodcutter on the bank, by the name of Zhong Ziqi. Boya then invited him onto his boat, to play the qín for him.

When Boya’s qín resonated with power, Zhong Ziqi said ‘As imposing as the high mountains!’. When Boya’s qín streamed forth with clarity, Zhong Ziqi said ‘As endless as the flowing rivers!’. Hence, the piece Boya is known for is 高山流水 (High Mountains, Flowing Waters).

Wild with joy Boya was for he had met his 知音 zhī yīn, the one who understood his music. They promised to reunite the following year. Unfortunately, upon his return Boya learned that Zhong Ziqi had passed away from illness, and was utterly grief-stricken.

He played the same piece one last time before Zhong Ziqi’s tomb, and smashed his beloved qín to pieces upon it.   “我唯一的知音已不在人世了，这琴还弹给谁听呢？My only zhī yīn is not in this world any longer, who will I play this qín for?”

IN SHAN HE LING

This word, 知音 zhī yīn, appears in Ep 9 of SHL, in reference to the 4 Sages of Anji. ZZS uses it when describing the 4 Sages' relationship. Later, WKX says, 知音难觅 ('a zhī yīn is difficult to find' - often quoted in relation to the Yu Boya-Zhong Ziqi story).

They also quote 高山流水 High Mountains, Flowing Waters, the piece Yu Boya is most known for, which is a reference to this story of the 知音 zhī yīn.

There is also another term similar to 知音 zhī yīn - 知己 zhī jǐ. You may recognise it from its use in Chen Qing Ling. It literally means 'to know oneself', ie. a person who knows you fully.

It also appears in SHL - WKX and ZZS use it to refer to each other multiple times (there’s way more than just these two instances!).

Some translations use 'confidant', but that or 'soulmate' doesn't even begin to touch that level of intimacy. In addition, 音 yīn: music, thus 知音 literally means 'know-music', ie. someone who knows your music.

THE ONE SAGE OF ANJI

But why is the Sage who smashes his qín particularly heartbreaking? When this Sage saw his three 知音 die before his very eyes, he says "In this world no longer having 知音, what use in keeping you?" and smashes his instrument.... just like Yu Boya did upon Zhong Ziqi's grave.

Thus, the terms 知音 and 知己 refer to kind of understanding of another transcends romance, and speaks to a type of deep connection that is rare and sought after. As the stories of Yu Boya & Zhong Ziqi, as well as the 4 Sages of Anji show, 'soulmates' can be platonic as well.

Fun fact post-gloom: In 1977, a recording of 流水 Flowing Waters (performed by Guan Pinghu) was included in the Voyager Golden Record, a gold-plated LP recording containing music from around the world, sent into outer space by NASA on Voyager 1 & 2.

BONUS:

In episode 18, Wen Kexing says to Cheng Ling "(When one is) sad, and cannot see the one he wants to see, he withdraws and hides, and will not see anyone. In future when your shifu is not around, I also want to find such a place to hide, and not see anyone."

To which Cheng Ling replies "Just like Yu Boya smashing his qin?"

Louis' big show is TOMORROW but that may not even be all we have to look forward to from him! Producer Alex Oriet (half of the duo Saltwives, who have worked with Zayn a lot, and he got his start working with 1D) reposted Louis' “new song” tweet to his insta with a caption- “soon”. OMG. Billboard had a 'year in livestreams' feature and wrapped up with Louis', saying “the best is yet to come” and reporting that Louis' show is Veeps' bestselling of the year “in excess of $1 million” (so either over a mil so far or a mil over the next best, hard to say, but it'll be well over a million by the end for sure so either makes sense).“I can't wait for tomorrow!” Louis tweeted, SAME, and “feels so good to be back with the boys getting ready. Can't wait for you all to see what we've been working on!” He included the brand new special Live From London twiiter emoji (!), it's a really cute lil vintage TV with the xx smiley on it, and a pic-- it's him looking over the backstage prep (so many screens) and you can see his hair flowing free and long and lovely! You can also see a piece of paper in front of him with 20 lines on it-- even if it is a set list I imagine some lines say “banter with crowd” and such like (as we saw on Louis' tour set list) but that's still soooo many lovely songs :))). Charlie Lightening says “this is going to be special, can’t wait for people to see what we have planned” and LTHQoffical is hitting us hard with the hype, posting another rehearsal pic (he's holding a beer and they didn't even scribble it out! wow almost like there's nothing wrong with that), and a time zone guide showing 66 cities around the world, and a digital fan pack, and they said more merch will be out tomorrow (heeelllp), and there's a show day itinerary-- ticket sales cut off 4 hours before the stream but much more interestingly, don't reopen (for the 28 hours of rewatch) until TWO HOURS after the start time. While they could (probably should) be allowing time for technical difficulties I much prefer to believe it's because we're getting a LONG SHOW YES PLEASE! I like my Louis shows like I like his hair, as long as he can possibly manage!! So that's plenty that we DO know to be excited about at the moment but the mystery of Louis new label also remains a hot topic nonetheless, with the known high cost of a twitter emoji stirring questions of who footed the bill (not something we're ever likely to find out sadly). If his team really understood us in the least they'd set up a viral video style Q and A where every Q pulled out of the bowl was an intensely detailed bookkeeping or promo strategy type query- tbh the faces Louis (or any one of the boys) would make would be 100x more entertaining than they get from any tired trying-to-be-cheeky standard Q and the answers sure would be!

Harry's prerecorded (months ago!) Jingle Ball performance aired at last and OH MY GOSH! SO GOOD! I think we can all agree (I know right?? I can't believe it either) that the backing band, Free Nationals, were phenomenal, and Harry's performance was terrific, just simply next level versions of the songs and Harry's sound in general. What more could we ask? For me, not much. For the Jingle Bell Ball organizers, well, they might have liked something Christmassy I suppose, maybe a holiday cover song, or a “tour of his home and holiday traditions.” LOL too bad! Whatever, they DID get vocal variations all over the place and oh did they work, a little lyric change in Golden (“I'm hoping someday I'll open”?), Harry in a sunny LA backyard (whose? who knows!) and everyone in not remotely festive Gucci. There were some decorations though! Not xmassy though- they were, can you guess, yes that's right: sky blue. And there was TRUMPET! A horn section, like revenge, is best served cold apparently: all these years on we can only assume Julian Bulian is good and sorry for denying Harry his trumpets cause DAMN did that sound GOOD. Julian may not say it but I will: you were SO RIGHT Harry, trumpets on every song!! Please! In fact, if you just took that guy on tour with you... or any of those people really? He can just have a really BIG backing band how about, then we won't have to argue about whether wanting this to be his band is mean to the old band. Anyway I hope the fan who ran into him in LA this morning told him how much we liked the show-- she did take a distanced pic, Harry is in his running gear (mostly black but bright fruity shoes) and holding a beverage. Oh yeah and Fine Line is now available to stream in “3D audio” (there's a moving in a New Direction from 1D joke in here headline writers, have at it) which is something that apparently only works with an Amazon device and is strange because physicists assure me that all sound is 3D, but what do they know. Anyway I'm sure it sounds great to those who can access it but luckily for me the album sounds great in plebian unbranded sound as well.

In the wake of Liam's no-show livestream yesterday fans are full of theories about what could be going on to cause such a thing, except actually it's only one theory; everyone is quick to ascribe the glitch to management struggles. May I simply say: there are so very very many things that could be happening in a person's life, even in a 1D member's life, that could cause a missed event and reducing any of them to 1 Dimensional figures who only have work related problems does them (and rigorous theorizing) a disservice. I hope we can all agree on wanting what's best for Liam, and that that extends to supporting him even if things are going on that are less glamorous than management villainy. I will ascribe one thing to management though-- I do believe the guys do the bulk of their own tweeting etc nearly always, but @Liam's tweet that yesterday's live didn't happen due to “technical difficulties” and they are “looking to reschedule” is one that I will make the exception for, sometimes you can just feel the PR person behind the screen! Tik Tok said it was rescheduled for next Tuesday, but the tweet was after that sooo hmm. The Billboard article about Veeps of course also talked about Liam (his Halloween show had 3.7 BILLION chat messages my god) and Liam's prerecorded alarm content today is Roman teaching Liam to do a Harry impression. How come when Roman does it it sounds like Harry but when Liam does it he sounds like Roman? Tip to Liam, just call it a Roman impression and you've GOT it!

Meanwhile, Lewis Capaldi weighs in on Niall and whether he (Lewis) enjoys golf with uncharaceristic delicacy; “we have different interests,” he says, and he sympathizes with a fan who said they'd slap him to meet Harry: “I understand.”

something i noticed from 2months on twt is whenever jk or th trends solely, i see is tkrs pics/fanarts (mostly) and when i see jm trends its more of jm solos with his pics,videos,threads and jkkrs doesnt seen as much as tkrs are seen in individual trends. if new armies open to see the solo trends they can see tkrs threads and all and get into that rabbithole. its kind of concerning that th/jk becoming more of shipping tools as shippers are sabotaging the solo trends and linking their individualities to respective member (yes even for jm but im seeing more for tkk at this point) yesterday was simple ex th posting pics and jk posting story where i see no correlation but still got linked even some jkkrs did but i saw more of them saying jk is just rec songs. yes, 2022 is a year where we can see things even more clearly.

I've noticed the same but honestly... I don't know how twitter trends work, so I can't really say anything about it without knowing about trends and how much does a word have to be tweeted to trend and all that stuff. I know Jimin was used so much that Twitter considers it a word like "and" "or" "but" and it can't trend anymore, and that's all I know. I think Taehyung doesn't trend anymore either? Or some variation of his name. Jungkook still pops up on my trends a lot, tho. Sometimes jikook trends for me and it says "2345 tweets" and it's on the trends with such a small number??? So, yeah... there's twitter stuff that I have no idea about.

I know tho, that Jungkook and Taehyung mostly have fans that are shippers. Almost every JK or TH stan is, more or less, a taekooker. That's probably why they trend together a lot, and the fact that tkers make a big deal out of everything and they scream for whatever. So like you said, they'll be on the trends just because they both posted on the same day or something even if there is no correlation between the posts.

They're also really fucking weird. I've seen some taekookers who call themselves taekookers but were called out because they don't support Jungkook's songs. I swear I've seen them say "I like taekook relationship but I like Taehyung as an artist so I only stream Taehyung's songs".

Jikook has always been very divided in that sense. Most jikookers in the past were Jimin stans (you'll find that most PJMs are "ex jikookers"). Nowadays there are more Jungkook stans who are jikookers too, but I'm not sure if they're the majority. But there are Jimin stans AND jikookers, maybe they don't exactly bias Jungkook but they love him too. Jungkook stans blindly hate Jimin, period. You can find PJMs who like and support jikook and Jungkook but you won't find JK stans who like jikook or Jimin.

Taehyung stans didn't even listen to friends; they never included Friends in any of their playlists because Jimin did the song and he sang on it. Who, the lauv Collab, it was literally supported ONLY by jikookers and PJMs. I've yet to see Jungkook stans supporting the song, they also hated that Jimin was in the song. Granted, most JK solos are taekookers. PJMs are very loyal to Jimin tbh and they will ignore whatever personal opinions they have about other members as long as what they're doing is good for Jimin. Taekookers, Taehyung and Jungkook solos, they will even ignore taekook themselves just to spite Jimin. Most PJMs literally loathe Jungkook but they will put that aside for Jimin's sake.

Jikookers also don't really use the word "jikook" either. I've noticed they use Jimin and Jungkook more than the ship name, which I personally think it's awesome because it sounds better than any ship name, sorry not sorry. So that's probably also one of the reasons it doesn't trend as much.

Yeah, about 2022 I think it's that almost the entirety of 2021 happened behind the scenes, so we only saw half of the story and there was even some stuff that maybe watching it happen was like "...where did this come from?" Taekook in the Harry Styles concert and in the vlive was a moment like that for me, like I knew they were okay but not that okay. Lots of people were genuinely surprised about tk being besties again. There were positive developments in their relationship but we just never saw them because there was not much posted by the company and they didn't have many public schedules either. As for jikook, except for them not living together anymore, I didn't see many changes, just maybe a bit of "regression" to old dynamics jikook at the end of the year.

If this year we see more of BTS on real time, I think that probably things will make a lot more sense than they did in 2020 and 2021.

Also if there's jikook content this year it's gonna be unbearable and tbh I'm almost wishing there's just lots of taekook so they'll finally get their "company content" so they'll see it doesn't mean what they think it means and stay off of Jimin's back, but even if there's tk content it's still going to be hard to look at the things they're going to say about him, so there's no winning anyways.

King & Queen. – Bakugou Katsuki x F!Reader.

It's 4 AM, I'm a mess but I needed to get this off my chest. I'm testing the waters with my writings, it's been forever since I wrote anything and I wanted to throw myself a little bit into the fandom I've been obsessed with for the past months. I do hope you enjoy it. ♥

Bakugou Katsuki took pride in having such a large following online. Ever since the first year UA Sports Festival, both his Twitter and Instagram accounts got thousands and thousands of followers, mostly crushing over him and others just hating on him, and in both ways he loved the attention.

The Aesthetics™ he had were always on point and his Twitter was just filled with one sentence tweets, re-tweets of famous heroes, a somewhat dry, dark and/or sarcastic meme from time to time, only and only if it fit (again) his aesthetics. Sometimes he'd engage with the Bakusquad, specially Kaminari and Mina, both very active users, and [Y/N], answering to her tweets with a one word roast and little more.

After the second year UA Sports Festival though? His social media reached the 100k mark, skyrocketing into a small celebrity as he won the first place for two years in a row. But what made him reach such a large number was the way he won. Their battle for the first place was insane, such a difference compared to what he had to deal with Todoroki in the past. [Y/N] put an amazing fight, there's no doubt to that, but the woman overused her quirk and he knew her weakness, mostly since he sometimes (rarely, almost never, pft) observed her train with Icy-Hot or Deku. It was a spectacle to watch and it has even been televised for a whole week afterwards, critics applauding how promising UA's students were. And that's how it all started.

The shipping.

Images and even fucking edited music videos of their fight were everywhere. It was so obvious both of them enjoyed the fight, the little grins they shared as they attacked each other, the small comments both threw and the camera and mics everywhere picked, the look Bakugou Katsuki gave [Y/N] when she kicked his ass. Such an adoration, followed by his insane grin, ready for a challenge. The look [Y/N] gave him, as he took the first place medal with pride from Endeavor, thriving at the applauses from the public. Stars were put to shame compared to the sparks in her eyes. Oh, and the moment their orbs made contact exactly after that? The chemistry.

Bakuy/n was one of their names online, apart from variations of their hero names mixed together. The fandom was slowly picking up a name, mostly going with the first mentioned. And Katsuki? He was fucking aware of everything. Her social media was on radio silence, but this event made him think. Actually think, not half-ass an idea and just throw himself head on into it. And the conversation he overheard was just making him plot now.

Mina and [Y/N] were actually discussing this exact topic. The pink girl was thriving for it. Her Twitter account was now filled with subliminal messages about love and it made her poor friend anxious. Basically because this issue hasn't been addressed at all with Bakugou and she planned to keep it that way. Yet Mina, sweet, adorable, loving Mina was just pressing on it really badly, but thankfully she never did when both sides of Bakuy/n were in the same room/conversation.

"Isn't it like so romantic?" Mina's eyes shined, hands clapped, her gaze looking somewhere in the distance, daydreaming.

"No, it's not, it's weird..." her [h/c] haired friend answered, falling more into the couch of their living quarters, trying to hide from the world.

"It would be if it wasn't obvious you pin for each other!"

Laughter coming from the pinkette filled the room as the blond man decided not to interrupt and leave, small grin on his face as [Y/N]'s groans just told him what he needed to hear. She definitely did not deny the attraction and whatever chemistry they had.

Which leads to the current situation.

The girl was sitting in the cafeteria, waiting for Ochaco and Mina to come around, phone in hand as she scrolled mindlessly through Twitter, watching as her most recent tweet, the first one in ages, was getting attention. She giggled at Denki's stupidity, as he just posted a selfie of himself drenched in Diet Coke clearly in the UA bathrooms. Checking his replies she saw the boy she's been [kinda, lowkey, just a lil bit] trying to avoid for the past days.

"So THAT'S WHY U NEEDED MINTS!?!!!!!?? 🤣

She giggled again, entertained by her friends when her interactions just exploded. App actually crashed as she blinked while munching on some french fries dumbly.

As she tried to open her app again, both her friends landed by the table, joking about Kaminari and his never ending stupidity. Notifications popped again and again, legit confusing the girl to no end, making her ignore her two friends as they asked her what was going on, mainly because of her expression.

"The hell...?" she muttered, throwing the phone down while Twitter took its sweet, sweet time to load and open and just as she opened her mouth to answer Mina, she made eye contact with some very intense red eyes.

Clasping her mouth shut and ignoring Ochaco as she took [Y/N]'s phone to see what's going on, the girl could only focus on Bakugou, sitting a few tables away, facing her direction. She almost shivered in place under the intensity he was giving away, although his position was laid back, phone in one hand, chin in the other. And, again, gaze on her. He barely even blinked, his neutral expression giving nothing away and she knew she was blushing. Why was she a blushing mess under his gaze? Well, answer was obvious for everyone, even the whole internet now, but oh, she wished Bakugou Katsuki wasn't that sharp. Who are we kidding though?

Ochaco started to shake her out of her daze, interrupting the intense eye contact battle as she shoved her phone in her face.

"Oh. My. God." She muttered, stuttering her following words "Please, look at this, I can't believe it... Mina, check Twitter."

"If Kaminari threw Diet Coke and Mints in one of the bathroom toilets to 'experiment', I'm done with him." Mina responded but froze in place, just as [Y/N] looked away from the explosive boy. "Wait... WAIT!" her eyes almost popped out of her skull. "WHAAAAAAA–?!"

On the screen of her phone was the profile of the guy she's been crushing for... A year now? The guy that at first ignored her, then screamed at her, then beat her ass in training, then got his ass beaten by her, that scoffed at her shitty jokes, that actually chuckled at her shitty jokes, that studied with her, that smiled at her... The guy that complimented her when her quick improved. The guy that took her opinion seriously even when acting like he didn't care. The guy that stole her heart when he showed little glimpses of his complex persona only to her. The guy that fucking retweeted:

And a picture attached, them shaking hands after their battle, ready to go get prepared for the podium. Bloodied, sweaty, yet both smiling at each other.

"I can't believe this–[Y/N]–" The brunette started rambling and fangirling besides her, but... With a careful glance, she peeked under her eyelashes to look at the boy again, her heart almost stopping when noticing he was still observing, small grin on his face hidden behind his hand, perfectly angled for her to see. "There's another one!"

Everything started to make sense, as she quickly checked her notifications to see the Internet™ just going crazy over that retweet. People started mass-following her, fans and stans just living for it, tagging her username with a screenshot of the retweet and now it hyped up again with... pictures of his profile? Did he change his description? He... changed his description. While there was absolutely nothing in there, now there was one single word. King.

Her eyebrows just rose so high her forehead hurt, the 3 braincells that were still somehow functioning were catching up to what the hell was going on and now she was positive, 100%, without a doubt that she was blushing like a mad-woman, a smile forming on her lips as she hit the retweet button on the same tweet he did and instantly opening her profile to edit.

Both her friends were freaking out by her side, accusing her of being way too calm in this situation, to explain but [Y/N] knew she couldn't utter any word, or even look up at them or at him. If she did, she'd break the spell, the moment, and as she deleted her description and only wrote a single word in her profile, her smile only widened. Hearing Mina screech after seeing her retweet, the girl giggled like an idiot.

Bakugou Katsuki was loud, brash, maybe a little bit emotionally constipated, rough around the edges, incredibly smart, observing, caring, awful with words but straight to the point with actions. And he was, without a doubt, fucking extra when doing things.

As she pressed the button Save on her profile, she caught him looking at his phone, being patted on the back by Kirishima, that somehow appeared in the frame yet was so distant in her field of vision as only he mattered at the moment. Waiting his reaction patiently and waiting for the internet to start freaking out again, her chest was hurting from the drumming of her heart. Hell, she knew she looked like a disaster with a flushed face, phone gripped so hard in her hand that it could break, a group of girls forming around her, noisy yet so distant. The world going in slow motion, seeing his crimson eyes widen for a fraction of a second, hiding more of his face in the palm of his hand as he still tried to look so casual, Kirishima's "Yeaaaaaaaah!" filled her ears as he tapped his finger on the screen, destination already clear. And when he saw what he needed...

He got up, leaving his tray of food behind, shit-eating grin basically parting the sea of people forming around them both as he marched towards where she was seated, and for the third time they made eye contact. His cheeks flushed, such a boyish expression coveting his normally angry features, mischievous and happy, relieved, just... Perfect.

Everything went in slow motion for her, his march, decisive and bold, as he always was, took to an end as he got to her, just giving her a hand and a raised brow, inviting her to leave with him anywhere but there.

And she took it without hesitation.
