As always, I'm The Inverted Shadow and yeah, War of the Fat Italians 2024 has come and gone... and uh, as it is customary with a lot of these big events with SMG4, I have things to say but this time, I'm actually not going to make a big show out of it this time like what I did for Puzzlevision and..." *clear throat* "The things that came before because I'm going to be completely honest, guys, I was really fucking nervous for this one because, um, to be completely honest, this rap battle for this WOTFI is, I can safely say, one of the hardest things I had to do when animating for SMG4 thus far. And I was really really scared and nervous about (one) if it would actually come out good and (two) if people would actually like it. But just based on the reactions from the watch party with the SMG4 team and also just seeing everybody's reactions to WOTFI this year, um.... Yeah, you guys surely showed me I still must be doing something right." *laugh* "But, no no no. In all honesty, once more, thank you all genuinely. Genuinely, thank you all once again to the SMG4 community, to Luke, to Kevin, the SMG4 team. Everybody. Thank you all so much for showing me that I apparently still got it and I can still do the thing as it were." *chuckle* "Um, I do really hope you all enjoyed WOTFI this year. For now, I need to go get me that new Mr Puzzles plushie 'cause I need it. So, genuinely thank you all again and uh, peace!

Oh, we enjoyed this year's WOTFI, SMG4 Team! As Mario would say, that was-a loads of fun! The animation, the art, the music, everything was really really good. There are a few plot tweaks here and there that need a bit of work, but otherwise, it was great! Props to everyone on the Team! I can't wait to see what you guys do next.

HONEY. THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING. If you think she sounds amazing as a BACKVOCALIST, then you're in for a treat to hear her as a main vocal of her OWN BAND HELLOOOOO.

I remember a few months ago in one of their (live? Q&A? one of them) instagram things, someone was commenting on how great she sounded, and one of the guys was like "yeah, and she didn't even get training, isn't that so annoying?", it was hilarious 😂 Miss Ma'am is a natural - no wonder Vessel got her (and the babes) to back him 💅

Turntail is fantastic, I've had it on repeat since Thursday. Their music is so interesting and unique, and a great of it is because of her singing. She does this crazy runs and unexpected intervals like it's nothing, and her tone is so so SO clear and stable. Her lows??? Like, honey can go reeeeal low and smooth and real high and crystalline in seconds just like that??

This song in specific, I super appreciate the eerie, melancholic vibes. It's such a great successor to The Collapse (their previous single), but somehow even better. And can we talk about that sexy bassline??? Johnny boy went HARD on it (like he always does. Same with my drummer boy Matt, he's fantastic. Also he writes a lot of the lyrics alongside Lyns, he's fantastic). I love the breakdown bridge and that last chorus so SO much. And the piano??? They always have the most heart-wrenching, soul-crushing, beautiful piano melodies, and yet I get pikachu faced everytime. What can't the queen do. Also, this is the first time they're using a voice effect-tune-thingy so, interesting choice there. The babes sound beautiful as ever too 💖

While my favourite thing from them is still the 1st ep (The Thing With Feathers - please please PLEASE go listen to it. The Downpour and The River are my favourite songs of them, they're so amazing, please I am begging you, you'll love it), you can absolutely hear how much better they get with each new thing they put out. I'm so so excited for when they finally release a full length album, it's been a long time in the making.

If you listen to their latest ep, Dancing In The Face Of Danger, you'll see that they went for a more upbeat vibe (notable on Pyre and Ever The Optimistic), so it feels great to hear the Sad Vibes™ again. Nothing against upbeat stuff (Pyre is one of their best songs fr), but I am an emo at heart sooo... yeah. Miss Birdsong sounds like an elf or some other woodland creature - idk if its just me but you can hear traces of folk music in it and ugh what a combo.

Super super reccomend you hear them live. There are a few recordings on YT, and some of them do feature one or both of the Espera babes too.

Also - do not sleep on their Diamond Eyes cover. Genuinely does NOT feel like a cover AT ALL. Covering Deftones is so daunting because of how unique a they are, and by god those beautiful bastards did it. I do very much prefer their version to the og, she really shines vocally there.

Discussing McLennon's opponents arguments

Disclaimer: By writing McLennon in the title of this post, I made a simplification. I understand "believing in McLennon" as believing, or even contemplating / leaving a window to the possibility that John and Paul's relationship was not purely platonic. This includes variations: that John was unhappily in love with Paul, that they were secret lovers, and - most likely in my opinion - that their feelings for each other were (at least in part) romantic, but they didn't do anything about it. Often, especially in general (non-Mclennon) Beatles groups, I am faced with disbelief or even outright dislike when someone starts this topic. Today I will try to look at what the opponents of our thesis say.

"You're just sexualizing everything! There may be a close friendship between men" (in a more ridiculous and nasty version that I saw in the comment on YT: "Only women and gays believe in McLennon because straight men know that there can be close friendship between men") Well, we start with a difficult topic. There are two different harmful points of view in society. The first is amatonormativity, according to which the only important relationship in a person's life is a romantic one, and friendships are less important. In this context, our critics might be right. BUT! There is also another harmful mechanism that must not be forgotten - homophobia. According to it, being an LGBTQ person is something wrong and a disgrace. Therefore, we cannot think of our idols (e.g., musical idols) as having (or contemplating) romantic and / or sexual relationships/feelings with people of the same sex. Homophobia permeates society as a whole, including historians who often interpreted two men who were close to each other as "just friends" (for example, Alexander the Great and Hephaestion). We are dealing with the same at McLennon. So we should be prudent and, where possible, fair when trying to judge any relationship considering the existence of both homophobia and amatonormativity.

"Who cares? What does it change if these two guys were in love?" Well, it changes a lot. If we accept that Lennon and McCartney were in love, we adopt a slightly different view of the breakup of the Beatles. That would explain (at least to some degree) why John was so ostentatious about his relationship with Yoko, why they got married just eight days after Paul, why he disliked Linda so much, and, most of all, why he attacked Paul so fiercely in 1970 and 1971. Of course, anger, jealousy, greed and insecurity can cause different behaviors (e.g. Gilmour and Waters fighting), but John and Paul fought each other like lovers. They wrote songs for themselves. In one of them, Paul, wanting to ease the battle, writes: "I'm in love with a friend of mine." Why? And why, for instance, does Lennon mention fucking McCartney in 1970s interviews? Broadening your horizon and accepting that the two guys had a romantic friendship would help with the analysis. Isn't that what being a historian/scholar is all about?

"It's impossible because they were both straight" This is something I wrote about above - plugging your ears and shouting: "Lalalala, my idol can't be gay!". Even if you don't think it is likely that two people had a non-platonic relationship, please be at least open to that eventuality. As for John not being straight - I'm preparing a masterpost on it, which will be released this month. Of course, I'll link it here later. As for Paul, the case is more difficult. I think I'll also make a post about it. I suspect (and would like to emphasize that this is only my interpretation, which may not be true) that Paul has been and is attracted to women all his life, and that the only man Paul has looked at romantically is John. It's like in this meme: "I'm straight but John Lennon is John Lennon" :D

"How can you discuss this? Isn't that interfering with their private lives?" Firstly: In my opinion, we can discuss the private life of celebrities, especially if they themselves decide to share it with us. John, Paul and those around them have largely decided to do so. Anyway, people have always analyzed the private life of the Beatels. Here, for example, we see a girl asking Paul in 1964 about his relationship with Jane Asher. And the most important thing: I've noticed that McLennon's opponents are quite okay with analyzing the private lives of the Beatles until the topic of homosexuality / bisexuality comes up. Only then do they say: "Leave them, it's their business!", not before. Do you know what it's called? Queerphobia. Secondly: Just read this post. That's all for now. What do you think? Ahh, Cranko's Muse. I should watch more of her. To be fair, a lot of 'old school' ballerinas don't get talked about a lot here, but especially not non-Russian or non-American ballerinas. She deserves more love. I mean for crying out loud, she originated some of the most widespread roles in the neoclassical rep today, Cranko's Juliet, Tatiana in Oneign and Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew. Absolutely a legend, but one that should be praised more for her accomplishments and her freedom to just dive into roles.

Any thoughts on Ana Turazashvili? I tend to really like her in roles like Queen of the Dryads.

Not a super memorable dancer to me, but I remember being very captivated by the Mata Hari project she shot with La Personne. Definitely someone with potential in the modeling/CF/ more silver-screen world.

Ale, very specific question!! Please, help!! Do you have any link to the performance of Legend of Love with Tereshkina, Osmolkina and Tsiskaridze? I don't even know if a full ballet recording of this performance exists, but I really want to see. I only saw some photos, but what a dream cast!!! I would probably cry a little if I'd had seen it live

I'm not sure a full recording exists and I'm not sure how much of that particular complete cast you'll be able to find. I did find a Mekhmene Banu and Ferkhad pas de deux with Tereshkina/Tsiskaridze HERE. This performance is from 27.05.2011 at Crocus City Hall, not the MT stage so that also makes recordings a bit less likely.

There are a LOT of recordings with Tsiskaridze, particularly with different ballerinas (eg Gracheva, Semizorova, Antonicheva) from the late 90s/early 2000s that you can simply find on YT by searching something like "Цискаридзе Легенда о любви"

What do you think of the ballet Mayerling?

Some epic pas de deux, and a great narrative arc for the male lead but this ballet gets really convoluted, really fast. Nearly have to watch and take notes to keep up with everything.

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s going with ENB?

Lots of turmoil internally under the direction of Tamara Rojo and then even more chaos seems to be following once it was announced that she is moving to San Francisco Ballet to be their new director. Lots of roster changes, generally does not seem to be the most uplifting and supportive place to work currently.

To me, Dewdrop is the Ashley Bouder role and I think the all the praise for it is understandable, watching her in it is one of those instant cheer-ups

If it's my choice to cast Dewdrop, I'm picking Tiler Peck. Every. Single. Time.

How do you deal with immature fans on social media? Compared to other fandoms, kpop stans seem the most prone to spewing whatever cruel or misleading opinions they want as they guffaw behind the safety of their screens. I saw a piece of advice to imagine everyone you interact with on social media is a 13-year-old (and considering kpop's low barrier to entry, I'm sure many trolls are actually this). I'm aware these users are just trying to incite rage or project their own insecurities about themselves or their own groups. I'm also aware that after a long day of work or school, they don't have the energy or desire to engage in actual thinking, and it's easier and more enjoyable for them to be a bandwagon bully. I want to closely follow Jaehyun and Doyoung's activities, but as NCT gets more popular these types are more and more prevalent. I really admire your cool and unaffected attitude, so do you have any advice on staying emotionally unaffected by such hateful propaganda?

Have a heart of ice like me, I guess.

1) I don't think it's only k-pop. I sometimes come across threads of 20+-30+ talking how they are bullied by minors (many write their age in headers, so the age of a twitter user is often known). And here on tumblr aggressive fights of mini-groups in tv-fandoms are also prevalent. Some go as far as "hunt" certain writers or shippers. And any religion/politics/dietary charged topics... oh, boy, a whole new world and a glimpse in the abyss.

2) I don't go to the places with fire ants in the first place. I often notice how people on YT in comments discuss how they left twitter and keep to YT for content. On all platforms I tend to make my fandom-related blogs and lure people to it. As a moderator I have some power. On this blog I tried to give voice to everyone at first and post every Ask I received, whether I liked it or not, but this liberty was abused. I noticed that when one anon wrote something negative, people who had kept their opinions to themselves, followed suit and wrote something not pleasing as well. Reminds me how dog packs attack amass after one makes the first move. In real life, there are ways to punish for bad behaviour, on the Internet the ban is the only option.

3) On twitter I follow only positive/neutral fans. I do go look up tags, pick into qrts or read a mini-war thread when I have the right state of mind for it (i.e. enough of stored patience), I make my visits to the absurd side of the fandom short. Every idol has a news-producing mega stan who translates or reposts everything relevant, so it's possible to keep an eye on the idols after subscribing only to them.

4) I think complaining to a friend about "awful fandoms" help. The classic "can you believe these people?" and "youngsters these days!". The friend gives you support with "sure, appalling", so you stop being alone against the "calamities of the fandom". The trick of getting "your people backing you up" feeling that soothes the inner monkey.

5) As a biologist who knows something about zoopsychology and neuroscience, I understand that humans are monkeys (actually "apes", but I'll use monkeys, a better comparison). Monkeys with big processing abilities, but running on primitive hardware. And I know that I'm not the reason for the behaviour of people who don't even saw me corporeal (you know, the usual "I'm not likeable, I said something wrong, I did something to offend"). You described several possible reasons for people behaving like bullies on the internet. Other i-net users or idols are not the reason for the problems of the bullies. If I'm not the reason (or my bias idol), I don't take it personally and have no inclination to "take the blame". I get heated up sometimes, I'm easily irritated with stupidity, but I don't get wounded or hurt. I did when I was a teen (who doesn't, only sociopaths). Likewise, I realise that some of my acute emotional responses are the work of my reptilian brain, so I take a breath, switch on my logical side and calm down.

6) The thing that works with me is the fact that people on the internet are nobodies to me. And I'm a nobody to them. There is no real "power" involved at the very start. They either don't know of my existence (if I scroll their acc as a reader) or will forget me tomorrow if we exchange a couple of stupid twits, so why I should invest any emotions in them. As such, their personal opinion is of no value to me unless they earn me over somehow. When people talk politely, logically, calmly, positively they gain credit. Antis, bullies, fans behaving immaturely stay at zero. If it's zero, I talk to a small child. They can scream and be loud, but they are not taken seriously. If I'm not taking someone seriously, I'm not affected by his/her words and opinions and can be as cool as a cucumber. This is the short answer, strip them of the "right to talk to adults" (by "adults" I mean people who can implement critical thinking and hear the other side out, behave, be civil, some 14 y.o. pass the bar in law, you know). You go past the "children" and communicate only with the "adults".

7) I guess it's the difference between being an observer and a participant. I come to twitter, take the information I need and leave. I don't know if the stuff I wrote is of any help to people who want to dive into a fandom, participate in every discussion and trend, breathe and live it.

Calling all Zero Escape fans and Aoilight enjoyers, I wrote a fanfiction. It took me four months, which is a day less than four months longer than I usually spend on a fanfic.

It's a canon divergence fix-it fic with embarrassing uses of the morphogenetic field, team bonding exercises, and cheesy intense dialogue. Also, they're all SOIS agents because I love a good spy fic. Honestly, I'm not very good at summarizing my writing but I hope some of yall give it a try anyways. (You can always close the tab if you don't like it, I promise that I'll never know.)

❅A Love Letter I Have to My Lovely and Beloved Friends❅

(I just know that 30 july was a national friendship day and today is like 31 july already at where I am but,,, just pretend that this is also for National Friendship Day 🤡🔫)

As you all know, it's been confirmed that I'll be going on a hiatus two days from now that I really don't know how long it will go on. So, with that in mind, I wished to leave this message to all the wonderful friends I've made while I was active here on Tumblr during quarantine.

I've started this writing blog a few months ago, to be precise, on May where life in quarantine was starting to become a norm. In the few months until now, I did my best to start writing and drawing more using all the free times that I have.

I wouldn't have expected this blog to grow so much in such a short time. To me, it was really mind blowing, seeing that there's a lot of other great content creators here on Tumblr. Yet, the 300+ people who stumbled upon my blog still decided to follow me.

I was really happy to have made many contents that I'm actually proud of posting. And I still can't believe there are people out there who love them. Seeing every one of your comments and reblogs and likes really, really, squeezed my heart and I couldn't be more thankful for your support.

And during these fun times, I was able to make friends with many amazing, talented, fantastic and all the good words I could find in the dictionary people on here. You all are a real gift to me and I hold you guys close to my heart.

I still can't believe I was able to befriend you guys though, like, y'all are so amazing and I was just here like squeaking my name to you like a shy mice lmao. =///= Anyways, thank you for all the good and fun times. Thank you for being with me and helping me with lots of things. Just, thank you for everything. (I'm writing this at 1am like it's sad hours yall I'm crying :')))

If you are ever feeling down, do not ever forget that, even if it's only me, I'll support you to the end of the world because you're just so amazing and fantastic. I love you and never let any hate that's thrown at you let you down because they aren't worth your time.

sidney: yeah, buttercup, bee, bumblebee - she's got lots of nicknames *laughs* she finished university, doing a double major in sports management and biochemistry. which is pretty tough, especially since she was on the hockey and lacrosse teams. but she loved it, and she somehow managed to graduate in four years, so i'll take it! she's going to med school in chicago now, trying to be an anesthesiologist.

The only place where I've been able to be who I am. The me behind the forced smile. The me who truly expresses myself and takes time to figure out how I feel. Ngl, sometimes realizing this makes me sad. Other times, it makes me so happy to see how many people have decided to follow this page that I on the spur of the moment decided to create one day. Desperate to see if anyone else felt as alone. If anyone else was as confused about why they were so different...We were made to be different.

We are the healers. We aren't 1 percent to be like everyone else. We are the shamans and sages that live at the top of the mountain, where all the village people come to with the questions they know only a wise person will carry and openly share. Higher perspective. In this modern day, technology fueled world, this has just turned into people texting you for advice, consistently dumping and venting onto you, and only talking to you to receive what they need.

It doesn't feel as good as it probably did back then, when a sage would sit in a cave at the top of a tree filled mountain. Where you could feel the breeze, listen to the silence, find joy in the sound of a singing bird, and hear your own voice and feelings enough to know that they matter just as much. It was probably exciting to see someone taking form upon the hill. Someone who was willing to walk up the mountain to receive your advice, and even more, valued it enough to work their way to it.

Its officially been 2 months since I broke down and just packed up my car and left without telling any of my family. I have been living out of my car, just traveling. Recording my experiences on YT. Life is so blissful from this moving mountain I now travel in. No contact, no dumping, no drain. Just PEACE. It does exist.

the mall didn't burn down entirely (like from the outside it looked fine). the ventilation system caught fire so it was more internal—ceilings and all that. covered things with soot(?) and ashes so the entire mall was closed for nearly 2 years. and hey, i've experienced a school fire too back when i was younger. i, too, thought it was nothing but a fire drill until i saw the charred remains of the buildings behind our school : D thankfully, no one died.

the new nct track is for a samsung commercial AHAHA it's funny because nearly everyone uses apple TT_TT and the mv screams neo culture tech tho (well as it should lmao). yes, i was talking about that part in hot sauce but yes, it grew on me too.

ateez really know how to do a performance. they put the standard so high for me when it came to performing. their facial expressions and overall stage presence just impresses me. it's been a while since i've seen idols draw me to them by those standards.

oof the pd48 scandal is extremely complicated. to condense it in a few statements: all of the girls' rankings have been rigged since the very beginning and it was rumored that they already had their end group before the show even started. it was like this for pf48 and pdx101 (group x1) which was why x1 disbanded within a month of debuting, and izone were on hiatus for like 4 months. im not the best at explaining stuff like this haha, but i think you get it. you can check out yt or search up 'pd48 scandal', a ton of articles and videos. as for new groups, nothing has been made clear yet. theyve only made instagram handles for now and appeared on variety shows haha. as for acting career, hyewon was supposed to do acting but was forced to join pd48 so maybe she'll continue acting afterwards? nothing is confirmed yet!
