Rambling about Hazbin Hotel under the cut. This will be tagged appropriately. This will have no effect on anyone who wants to pay for a commission involving any of the characters, this is just how I genuinely feel. I won’t stop anyone from enjoying the series. Not my business anyway.
Alright, I gave Hazbin Hotel a shot. No, I don’t like Vivzie. I used to, but learning the things I did left a particularly sour taste in my mouth. That being said, I still gave it a shot since I already had Amazon Prime with a student discount for six years. So my money was, unfortunately, already towards that type of shit even if I wasn’t going to use the music and streaming functions.
The show is fine. It has ups and downs. Similar poor pacing that Helluva Boss suffers from. Which is fine. I can forgive poor pacing more than other things. Not a particularly good or bad show. You can tell the voice actors and animators weren’t fully into it, no doubt due to however they’ve been treated behind the scenes.
It’s a really fun concept: sinners, who are already dead, working towards climbing up the proverbial ladder to not only join heaven, but prove that they can get better.
Not the first time I’ve scene it, but certainly the first time I’ve seen it approached in this way. That’s the fun thing about creating. You can have the same concept and still manage to find your own approach to it. Thats what makes giving these things a chance worth it.
But, I definitely won’t give the second season a shot. Not only is it just not something I’m fully into, but also because of how I feel towards the fellow artist behind it. Particularly because of how she decided to use symbols from a closed religion that she has no right in including. Have Alastor be full or part Creole? That’s fine. He’s a fun character. But slapping Voodou symbols onto his powers and making them feel evil is not. I’m still upset at the Disney company for pulling that same stunt in their last fully 2D animated movie.
I repeat, the show is otherwise fine. There are things I can and cannot forgive.
Enjoy it if y’all want. I’m not gonna stop you. You got yourself a new comfort character from it? Great! Genuinely glad you did! It means something was done right to you. I’m not going to dislike or even hate you for enjoying it. That’s up to you, just remember to also be critical. You can be critical of a media and still enjoy it. I’ll admit, despite who wrote the songs, I enjoyed a couple of the songs that popped up in episode 6 and 8.
But it’s still not something I can see myself enjoying beyond that. And that’s fine. I’m following people who are fans and are clearly enjoying it far more than I did. I’m reblogging fan art from said fans to support fellow artists.
You want a more decent representation of voodoo that doesn’t make it sound like some “evil” religion? Check out the Chronicles of Nick, written by Sherrilyn McQueen (previously Sherrilyn Kenyon). Menyara is a black voodoo priestess who genuinely cares about Nick and his mom and has helps them both throughout the series and also appears in The Dark-Hunters series.

The Sinful Affection
Chapter 5: The DJ is Crying for Help
LAST TIME ON-
Just kidding! This is not a drama TV series- in fact- this isn’t a TV show to begin with! So no recaps necessary, right? Since you are aware of your current situation, it’s time to walk with them. You were confused as to why the narrator is talking about random things instead of what was happening, but the narrator decides to stop.
You looked around as you walked, watching the people that headed in the same direction as your group. When seeing characters with object heads and more demonesque characters. Before you could get lost in the sights, a limousine nearly drove by. Once the driver noticed us, the limo stopped and the driver’s window opened.
“Need a ride, devilish creatures?” A girl with a sucker for a head began asking and talking. “Ya see; my family got invited to this ball, they bought this limo, then they all got sick! So I thought about how big a waste this would be and began searching for some peeps to drive to Dev’s castle!” Her mouth looked as if it shouldn’t be there and she spoke like a true Jersey girl. It was kind of cool.
Luke smiled. “Ah, a blessing from the Devil himself.” He put his hand on his chin. “So how much for a ride?”
“How much?! Well I WOULD have a debt on your head, but I think I should be nice. It’s not like you're asking for a fav on Bianca’s Birthday.” She laughed. Everyone began laughing, except for you. You were about to ask who Bianca was. “Hey, who’s she?” The sucker head turns.
Like a person in front of a dinosaur from a movie*, you were frozen in fear. She sounded angry, as if she might bust your kneecaps. “Her name is [Y/N]. She’s new here..” Luke steps over to you and holds your shoulders. His scent- candles and cologne- rubbed off on you while drawing you closer. It was as if he wanted you by his side.
“Hmm.. Well I like her! She ain’t afraid of Mob Daughters, like some of y’all..!” She laughs. Everyone laughs again. “See what I mean?”
Bertram cocks his head. “To be fair, you are the daughter of the most powerful mafia in the city.” Did he actually speak? You thought he was the type to not say anything towards her, but he actually said it. Honestly, you thought if anyone said something, it would be Samuel. In reality, Samuel either didn’t care, or he was mad at his clothes.
“Someone’s got a mouth.. Y’know I don’t have to let you ride! I could just leave you out and make it worse than just leaving out one!” The way she worded it was confusing at first, but you thought about the words then remembered Vaughn.
Bertram started dozing off. “Don’t mind him!” Alfonse exclaimed. “He’s always been a little..”
“Oh.. I got ya. He’s the ‘just-turned-thirteen’ type.” The girl waved us in. “Well, get in! We’re gonna be late if we keep this up!” Right. That’s what these chapters have been about. Everyone rushes to the vehicle, Luke opens the door, and ushers you in.
It’s nice to have someone like him. A lot of people are like him, but some you don’t know much about. In fact, the only people in the group that you really haven’t talked to much are Alfonse, Ben, and Bertram. You hoped to talk to them more. But you couldn’t stop and think; you had to get in the car before Samuel’s patience dwindled!
You entered the vehicle, taking a seat and taking a breath. “Can I sit by [Y/N]?” Alfonse chirps.
“Sure, Alfonse. Just make sure she’s in the middle, because I would like to sit next to her as well.” Luke says. It almost sounded romantic. But that’s probably just your imagination.
Alfonse chuckles. “That sounds like you want to steal her away..” He pauses. “AHA! You do, don’t you?!” The pink haired one laughs.
“N-No..” Luke somehow sounded embarrassed.
“Don’t lie! I can see the truth!”
“I guess [Y/N] will sit in the corner and I’ll take the middle!” Luke begins entering the limousine.
Alfonse gasps. “Haven’t you heard about ‘ladies first’?!” Alfonse enters after Luke. “[Y/N], sit away from him! If you do, I'll give you a reward~” He purrs.
“A reward? He just wants to fuck you and leave you in your lonesome until he feels lustful!” Luke spat.
“STOP BICKERING AND SIT DOWN!” Samuel shouts at the two. “AND YOU FOUR, GET IN THE DAMN CAR!” Samuel gets in and sits down. Levi enters after Samuel, then Ben, then Matt, then Bertram. Samuel curses after Bertram shuts the door.
The girl claps. “Thank you, Sam! Now let’s get this show on the road..” Everyone took their seat, sitting in a rainbow formation. Samuel, Luke, Matt, Levi, Bertram, Ben, Alfonse, then you. “How colorful. Well! Next stop: Dev’s Castle!”
The engine revved, and the limo moved as we all sat in silence. Everyone did their own thing in silence.. Very awkward silence. Luke gave an aura of worry as he looked down. Sometimes he looks over at Alfonse, but then he looks down again. You had felt something was wrong, but if you asked, that something would get worse. There’s a crack in the glass of happiness and touching it would shatter the glass.
“Yeesh. Y’all mind if I put on some music? Good.” The girl doesn’t even wait for a response. She puts on some pop music. It was hard to hear the lyrics, but the vibe feels like a rave. Sounds like a motherfuckin’ club yo.
Despite the limo moving forward, it felt like we were stuck. It’s hard to say how. Even though the sucker-head was cursing at vehicles, we were stuck in silence. No one perked up to chat, or smile at someone. It was so weird, Bertram wasn’t even napping! But, before I could worry more, the limo stopped.
The girl looked back at us. “We’ve arrived at our destination! Now, get out! Me and Bianca will make our exit after you guys. Wouldn’t want them to get it twisted.”
Luke inhaled, then let it out once he opened the door. Lights immediately panned on him. “Looks like the special guests have arrived! First appears to be Luke!” An announcer guy exclaims. Once Luke steps out, he waves at the crowd. “What a charmer!”
Matt exits next, smiling and waving like those penguins from that movie*. “Next is Matt! Lookin’ good there bud!” Matt smiles wider when hearing that, then gives his thanks. Levi leaves the vehicle next. “Levi! I never expected him to look that good in a skirt!” Levi blushes.
“Samuel! Who would’ve thought he would look great in military lolita fashion?” Samuel facepalms. “Alfonse looks great either way. Ben, making a grape impression! Get it? Cause he has grapes on his dress?” Ben laughs heartily.
“We’re closing in.. Bertram! Number seven and looking like a ten! Vau- Nope, it’s [Y/N]!” You wave at the crowd, who immediately started taking pictures of all of you together. “Now, Vaughn! Wait did she just shut the door on him?” You shut the door by accident.
Luke shakes his head. “Oh. OH! False alarm! Vaughn’s not here!” The limo drives away, leaving you and the group on this red carpet over some stairs. The group begins walking towards the castle, so you follow behind.
The announcer keeps doing his job as more people arrive. He said important names like Lolita, Amanda, Freyr, Xena, Victor, Pierce, and more. So many more.. As you followed behind, you kept watching the crowd and such while they took pictures of the group. They seemed to enjoy taking pictures of the group, but a LOT of denizens were taking pictures of you. Sometimes you would hear gasps from the crowd when you passed by.
After a lot of stairs and a lot of stares, you finally made it to the doors leading to the castle. The doors opened, but you couldn’t see the inside behind SEVEN FUCKING GUYS. So as they got greeted by the bouncer (you assumed), you took a few breaths to relax yourself.
“Luke Cyfer, Matt Mon, Levi Thann, Samuel Tin, Alfonse Deux, Ben Bubs, Bertram Guro, and [Y/N]...” You heard Atlante list off you and your friends’ names. “Where’s Vaughn Naty?”
“He told us that he didn’t want anyone to see his gorgeous face except for him.” Levi fibbed. “Can we come in now? We’re holding the line.”
Atlante hums. “That’s your choice to make, not mine.” Luke walks in with everyone following once again.
Once we entered, Luke went over to one side and cleared his throat for us to come closer. “I’m not saying ‘go crazy’ but don’t hesitate to take your chance. BEFORE YOU GO THOUGH; Matt- no pickpocketing. Levi- you’re good. Samuel- try to keep your cool. Alfonse- don’t make me repeat what I said to you last time when you tried to flirt with that ONE CHICK. Ben- go easy on the buffet table. And Bertram!” Everyone nodded or made a noise to show they understood. “Bertram- go find a place to nap, you need some rest after nearly making us lose our ride.”
Bertram blinked slowly. “Can’t I just nap on you?”
“Haha! No.” He stared down Bertram to make sure he understood. “Are we good? Good. Now, let’s party like it’s Dev’s birthday party!”
As soon as Luke said that, everyone went their separate ways. “Luke?” Before Luke could get too far, you called out his name. “What should I do?”
“Whatever you want, dear [Y/N].”
“Oh! And Luke!” You catch him once again. “Relax a bit, okay?”
He blushes, making you feel like you just hit his heart. His slightly shocked expression relaxes- just as you told him to. “Th-Thank you, [Y/N].” He clears his throat again after his stutter session. If you thought him being worried or him honestly smiling was rare, you should know that THIS was less common than those two things. He didn’t seem like the type to be embarrassed, he was more like the type to get others embarrassed.
Luke walks away to do.. Whatever he’s going to do. You felt a person tap your shoulder. “Ahem.. Miss [Y/N].” Looking behind you it was just Sir Lucien.
“What’s up, Sir Lucien?”
“Just ‘Lucien’ is fine.” He bows. “Our lord Dev Vil wishes to see you.” You were stunned to hear it.
Dev, the fucking king of Hell, wanted to see you?! “What did I do?” You asked with a scared tone.
“Honestly, I don’t know myself. But I’m sure you're safe from his wrath.” He put his arm out for you to take. You didn’t want to do it, but you did it anyway… You held his arm as he led you towards the stairs.
You could hear whispering from the crowd. You couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying, but you could imagine what they were saying. ‘Oh my god, Sir Lucien got a girlfriend’ or something like that. Now that you thought of that you blushed, realizing that what he said might be a lie.
Oh no. That’s all you could think. Oh no, they’re staring at us. Oh no, they’re whispering about us. Oh no, he’s going to show me the tops*.
You were getting more anxious with each step. When we got to a place away from the eyes of many, you saw a sign that said ‘Dev’s office’. Maybe he was telling the truth. One way to find out…
“So.. are you single?” You tried saying nonchalantly. He heard that and looked down at you. Lucien looked like an elephant that just heard a bee.
“What..?”
“Do you have a girlfriend or something?” You continue the conversation as normally as possible.
“I’m sorry to break it to you, but I’m gay. No hard feelings-”
Now you were the elephant that just heard a bee. “NO! I was just curious. I didn’t mean it like that!”
“No worries. You don’t have to lie to fight off those feelings. I understand.” He waves his hand softly at you. You wanted to say something else, but you knew it would be like talking to a brick wall. So you continued in awkward silence.
Because of the lack of talking, you could hear footsteps and the lightbulbs. It sure was annoying, but what could you say? ‘You come here often?’ Of fucking course he does. Besides, he would probably take that as flirting anyway. “We’re here. I’ll tell him before you can come in.”
“Thanks-”
“If you want to date someone so bad, Dev is always open. Besides, he wants a new girlfriend anyway.” You nearly vomited in your mouth. He knocks on the door. “Dev, [Y/N] is here.”
You could hear his muffled voice from inside. “Well, what are you waiting for? Let her in!”
But before you could walk in, the screen turned to black and white text appeared. It said..
TO BE CONTINUED!
Of fucking course. Fuck my life.

Encanto nitpick, Pepa Analysis.
BEFORE YOU READ: Okay so y’all remember when I made the Encanto nitpick post, I said I had one major one? Well that’s what I’m going to share today. The nitpick I’m about to share is the MAJOR PROBLEM I had with the movie, but all of it sort of ties into another nitpick, which was how the ending was executed, but I’m not going to explain that now. I will admit I’ve been kinda afraid to share this one, because this is one of those where a lot of people are going to get upset. All I ask is that you let me elaborate and explain before you get mad, and also please forgive me, because this whole thing is sort of....complicated, so I’ll try my best to explain and get across at what I mean. By now you should know that I talk a LOT. So...yeah, buckle in if you feel like reading possibly 2 essays. Thank you, and.....(deep breaths) here we go.
So nitpick involves Pepa Madrigal. (PLEASE HEAR ME OUT BEFORE YOU GO OFF 😭)
Tumblr media
First, I want to share how I feel about her in general, but I’m not going to explain FULLY because I want to save it for her character review. (Yes I’m still working on those, Isabella will be here soon). To make a long story short, yeah I love her. I love ALL the characters honestly, like, I swear Encanto is one of those movies where you can’t really HATE any of the characters no matter what, even Alma but BACK TO PEPA. I legit love her. (I also find her character concept hilarious) and feel so damn bad for her, like you can tell she’s literally suffering throughout the movie. She’s a 50 year old woman who has three kids, bags under her eyes, and is constantly under stress because if she feels any sort of strong emotion, she will get called out for it, and obviously not only that, flood the house or something. Anyway, I really like her, but I....have a sort of issue with her at the same time, and that’s where the nitpick comes in. And this, is honestly going to sound SO stupid I know, but I have to be honest so FINALLY, here’s the nitpick: Even though I love Pepa, her behavior towards her brother Bruno is keeping me from finding her as a.........L-LIKEABLE character, meaning... it’s keeping me from liking her “ALL THE WAY”, more than I do now you could say.
NOW HEAR ME OUT, LET ME EXPLAIN, LET ME EXPLAIN PLEASE JUST GIVE ME A CHANCE..........................are you still here? If you are thank you.
Now...before I get a bunch of comments saying “SHE CAN’T CONTROL THE WEATHER”, “SHE HAD A RIGHT TO BE UPSET AT HER WEDDING”, “IT’S BRUNO’S FAULT”, “SHE MISSED HER BROTHER THOUGH”, “SHE USED THE WEDDING AS A COPING MECHANISM”, —I know, I know, I know, I KNOW, and.....we’ll get to that last one. We’ll get to ALL of these, just let me explain. I have a few things to talk about, so what I’m going to do is analyze Pepa as a character and break down everything FIRST, organizing everything into a category so everything isn’t facoodled. (Messy). So before I actually EXPLAIN and get to and explain my nitpick, I need to do that first. I know you probably want me to get to the point, but I really need to talk about all of this BEFORE I do because it’s really important, I don’t want people to jump at me. This is the part of the ride where you hang on, so here we go.
1. PEPA’S CHARACTER/THOUGHTS: First, what do we know about Pepa’s character? Well, based on canon facts and the movie, Pepa is Alma’s daughter of three, the middle child according to Director Jared Bush on Twitter. Her gift is having her mood affect the weather, and is described to be “overly emotional” as well as someone who “overreacts” from time to time. We can clearly see this throughout the movie, as she is constantly on edge for the most part, worried. Her power obviously plays a role in this, as she is NOT allowed to feel any strong emotions, instead forced to try to calm down because if she doesn’t, a rain, a hurricane, a snowstorm, you name it happens, and Alma can’t have that, as she constantly tells her she has a cloud. In my eyes, her gift and Alma’s pressure caused her to be the woman she is now, always a little stressed, but luckily, Felix is there, as well as her brother and everyone else now. In the movie, Pepa’s arc was that she needed to learn to just let her emotions out, just feel what she needed to feel in the moment. If she needed to cry, let it rain. If she needed to be angry, let it storm, because we all know as human beings, it is NOT healthy to keep your emotions in. The interesting thing is this is VERY similar to Isabela’s arc as well! Anyway, just like the fandom, I feel so damn bad for Pepa, how could I not? Imagine growing up, you weren’t aloud to let loose with your emotions. You had to keep yourself stable as best as you could, and basically keep everything in. Her mother certainly didn’t help, as even when her kids were full grown adults, she was stern and committed, and even with Felix supporting her, you can tell everything was still difficult during the events of the movie. I just want to give this poor woman a hug, because she’s suffered enough, just like the rest of the cast.
Tumblr media
Before we move on, let’s talk about her as a CHILD, and I need you to pay attention to this part, because it’s important and ties into the category after the next one. Obviously, we don’t know anything about what she was like as a kid CANONICALLY, but as the audience, we can infer a lot of things. In my eyes, (and I think a lot of you will agree) since Peppa is described to be “overly emotional” and overreacting, I see her as a very sensitive kid. She probably cried a lot despite her gift, she also probably got angry and pouty when something deeply upset her, in fact I see her as VERY dramatic, getting upset at the littlest things, or the biggest things. Heck, I’m pretty sure Jared Bush said she was dramatic in a tweet, about why she was calling Julieta after casita crumbled. I also see her as stern in situations, especially when it comes to something she doesn’t like. But anyway, yeah, that’s how I see her as a kid, dramatic, overly emotional, DEFINITELY SENSITIVE, passionate when it came to showing how she felt, probably whiny too lol, but still a good kid. And no, this has nothing to do with the nitpick I had. Obviously, there’s NOTHING wrong with the traits I just stated. Again, we don’t know what she was like truly as a kid, but IF she was how I explained, there’s obviously nothing wrong with that lol. I have no issue with her being overly emotional, sensitive, or dramatic at all. A lot of kids are like that, and ADULTS are like that as well. Please keep this in mind.
Tumblr media
2. BRUNO’S CHARACTER/THOUGHTS: Don’t worry, I’m not going to talk long like I did in the category above, I’ll make this quick because we all know how Bruno is lol, it’s obvious. Bruno is the youngest child. His power to see into the future affected everyone to see him as some bad creepy omen, possibly causing him to be an introvert (that’s not canon we don’t know that for sure) but what is Bruno like outside of his gift? Well, he’s shy, kind, timid, goofy, sensitive, and is described to be an introvert (you and me both Bruno). What do we know canonically? Well, Jared bush on Twitter explains that even before he left, Bruno was introverted, not super comfortable around people, as he spent time on his own from time to time. Obviously Bruno isn’t some monster that the village was painting him to be, or some jerk. He cares about his family VERY much, and always has good intentions. It’s no surprise that I love Bruno. He’s a good guy, and must be protected. I could write a book on why he’s so lovable but....I love him. That’s all you need to know.
Now, what do I think Bruno as a child was like? Well, pretty much the same as an adult. In my eyes, he’s shy, timid, nervous, but at the same time he has a big heart, and can be open and goofy at times. While I think he’d be a little laid back and wouldn’t be as dramatic as pepa, I of course see him as very vulnerable and emotional as well. Whenever he gets upset, I don’t see him bursting into tears then and there like Pepa, I see him more hiding in a private place alone, then crying. He would also try to help of course, but be a bit of a screw up from time to time, similar to Agustín. Honestly Pepa and Bruno have something in common, they’re not entirely different, they both seem sensitive in their own ways and you can tell they’re both very emotional compared to Julieta, the more emotionally matured one.
Tumblr media
3. PEPA AND BRUNO’S RELATIONSHIP: First, let me say this. What I’m about to say is ALL SPECULATION AND INTERPRETATION, none of it will be canon, because surprise surprise, we don’t know ANYTHING about their relationship. All we know is that they love each other of course, and that’s it. Why would we know a lot though? That obviously wasn’t the film’s focus, and there wasn’t enough time to focus on it even if they wanted to. I put those words in bold letters just now because that is a phrase that is ganna pop back up MULTIPLE TIMES, so be prepared. Before I talk about what I think their relationship is like, let’s talk about what we already know........the song, but more importantly the wedding. DUN DUN DUN. In the movie when Maribel asks about her uncle Bruno, we see that Pepa is VERY stern and strict about his name being mentioned. She gets a cloud when Maribel says his name, so it’s clear she doesn’t like talking about him at all because it upsets her. Well, it could be for a few other reasons as well. We don’t know who started the whole “We don’t talk about Bruno” thing canonically, (that be an interesting question to ask Jared!) BUT a few fans either think it’s Pepa who started it, or Alma. Pepa because of how stern and upset she seemed, and Alma since she runs things. Anyway, after Pepa scolds Maribel, Felix comes in, and tries to tell her himself. ((Real quick, I’ve seen a few people say Felix doesn’t seem to have anything against Bruno, but judging by his lines- “She needs to know Pepe”, “It was a nightmare!”, “He would say something terrible, then boom! It would happen!” , “Then you better figure it out, because it was coming for you!”- I kinda disagree? I mean...in my eyes, it seems like Felix viewed Bruno the same way the townspeople did, a bad omen. That is just my opinion though. Sure, I know in the end he’s smiling towards Bruno and seems cool with him, but as for the events before the movie and before the end, it makes me wonder if Felix ever got to know Bruno outside of the wedding, since Bruno was so introverted. That’s another question you could ask Jared, I’m very curious about that!)) Anyway back to what happens! Pepa explains her wedding day, saying how her brother walked in with “a mischievous grin” and said “it looks like rain”, causing her to get really upset and worried, which resulted in a huge hurricane. Now we finally get to the part that’ll all be speculation and interpretation. What is Pepa and Bruno’s relationship like?
Tumblr media
Well first, what is their relationship like AFTER Bruno left? Well while again, we aren’t directly told canonically, as the audience we can infer a lot of things. In most people eyes and my eyes as well, Pepa is clearly upset towards Bruno, and why wouldn’t she be? He left the family, and supposedly ruined her wedding. Just like I said before, Pepa is VERY stern when it comes to her brothers name being mentioned, as you can clearly see when she overhears Maribel talking to herself. By how she acted, we can infer that she doesn’t want to mention her brothers name because she knows it’ll get her upset. She’ll probably feel so many emotions, anger, sadness, frustration, and remember, we can’t have that because of her power. (Now again, there could be that other reason as well, like maybe Alma was so strict about not mentioning Bruno that Pepa followed the same rule and only was so strict because she didn’t want her mother to hear, but that’s a theory, we dont know for sure.) Anyway, after Bruno left, (here’s the speculation) in my eyes it seems that while Pepa was obviously upset and heartbroken, she eventually knew one thing. She NEEDED to move on. She NEEDED to accept the fact that her brother was probably never coming back, and that she needed to continue with her life, raising three kids as well as continue to help the community. She didn’t want to think about him or even mention his name, just try to be happy with the life she has now and forget Bruno. I think it’s clear to this entire fandom, that Pepa and Bruno’s relationship is complicated. It’s not black and white, especially if you compare it to how Julieta acted during the movie. She seemed to have no problem mentioning Bruno when it meant a serious matter, as she clearly says his name in a serious tone towards Maribel to make a point. Pepa on the other hand? She freaks out. It’s clear Pepa and Bruno’s relationship isn’t a simple answer. When I asked Jared on Twitter if Bruno’s sisters ever supported him when the town talked badly about him, he responded with “maybe a little bit of both”, but he said one thing that was very important. “Family dynamics are complicated.” And he’s absolutely right. Even though I wanted a straight answer, relationships are complicated and the world isn’t black and white. Sometimes one party is wrong, other times both are, and sometimes none are. That’s exactly how I would explain Bruno and Peppa’s relationship, Complicated. It’s clear they care about one another of course, but it’s complicated, and that’s not a bad thing.
Tumblr media
THE FANDOM’S INTERPRETATION: Finally, we get to the fandom’s interpretation. We don’t know anything about what Pepa and Bruno’s relationship was like BEFORE he left and as kids, all we know is that Alma was....better than she was after Maribel’s ceremony, and that’s it. There’s no canon facts to look at or what we have, other than the simple fact that they love each other, and the wedding. So how do most of the fandom view their relationship before he left? As someone who’s read a few fanfics and seen a LOT of Encanto comics, this is mainly the gist. The fandom mostly interprets her as a girl who yes, loves her brother, but didn’t really have the best relationship with him growing up. People infer that their relationship is basically sweet, but most of the times it’s just Bruno messing up, and then Pepa instantly blaming him, frustrated and upset. That’s why the comics I have seen are her mainly calling him a curse or saying something is “all his fault”. Now yes, there have been cute wholesome comics of the two bonding, like Bruno helping Pepa with the rain, or Pepa sticking up for Bruno being bullied, but I’m mainly talking about the downside of their relationship. What do I think? Well firstly, I sadly agree when it comes to Pepa blaming Bruno at times. From what little we see in the movie, it makes sense that their relationship would be like that, especially since Jared explained that Pepa is a person who is overly emotional. I will say this though, I don’t think it’s fair that people pin ALL of the blame on her, and portray her as someone who doesn’t give a shit about her brother. Now I know what you’re thinking, “BUT YOU SAID YOUR NITPICK WAS FINDING HER UNLIKABLE”- I know I said that, and I’ll finally get to that after I say this. I’ve seen so many people in the fandom say the wedding was her fault, or how she’s cruel for blaming Bruno when he was just trying to help, or how she paints him as some villain despite being her brother, or how she held a grudge for 10 years. Look, if you don’t like Pepa, that’s fine. I’m not going to list endless reasons why you should like a character and why you’re wrong, because I’m not that kind of person, hell, I mean I don’t like Isabela so....there’s that.
Anyway, I want to explain just a bit and elaborate on these specific fandom opinions. When it comes to the wedding, I think they’re BOTH at fault. Bruno should have been smart and knew that making a joke like that would have upset her, and Pepa overreacted, meaning she thought he was doing that to mess with her. I think people are missing the fact that Pepa wasn’t upset because she thought he did it on purpose, she was upset because she wondered why he would say that KNOWING she always freaks out. You can tell because she says “in doing so he floods my brain” and Felix says “why did he tell us?”. I mean that isn’t really canon or said directly but that’s what I think. Oh, and for the people who are saying “BuT sHE’S tHE OnE WhO COnTRolS thE wEAthER!” Guys......HER MOOD. HER MOOD AFFECTS THE WEATHER. NOT HER. IT’S LITERALLY A LINE IN THE OPENING SONG. When it comes to people saying she blamed him even though he was trying to help, guys....she didn’t KNOW that, and even if she did, it’s more of a “why would you say that!?” situation. Then people say she paints him as a villain. In my opinion, she doesn’t. It’s not like she’s one of the town’s people saying he’s creepy or is a bad omen, she’s just saying how she doesn’t talk about him, and what happened on her wedding day. She DID say he had a “mischievous grin” when it’s clear he was probably smiling nervously, but I think that’s sort of justified.....in a way. We have to remember that Peppa is dramatic, and she probably thought he was messing with her in a negative way. I can understand though if people don’t like that about her. Finally, when it comes to her holding a grudge for 10 years, well....there’s honestly multiple ways you could look at the situation. Remember when I said I’d get to the coping mechanism part? A lot of people seem to interpret that Pepa wasn’t that mad about the wedding, she just brought it up because she felt like she needed a reason to be mad at her brother when deep down she missed him. I actually.....really like that idea! Again, this is a theory the fandom thought up of, it’s not canon, but I do like it. It’s honestly what I kinda HOPE is the case if I’m being honest, but I ain’t ganna throw a hissy fit if it’s not.
Tumblr media
And FINALLY.......here we go. Now that I have explained ALLLLL OF WHAT I JUST SAID.......after EVERYTHING I said.........now I can finally come back to my nitpick and elaborate, so we’re at the end guys. WE’RE AT THE END. If you managed to stay THIS long.....this damn long.....wow I....I thank you because I would have lost my patience 3 paragraphs ago....LMAO. But really, if you managed to hear me out this far, I’m done wasting your time, on to what I said in the beginning.
So in the beginning, I said that my nitpick is that I find Pepa a little unlikable due to her attitude towards Bruno in the movie. I also said that while I love her to bits, the opinion I had was holding me back from liking her all the way. After everything I said, I still sort of stand by that. On one hand, I don’t like how she handled the situation. What I mean by that is, yeah, it SEEMS that she held this ridiculous grudge against him for 10 years, and when you think about it, you could argue that she shouldn’t have thought Bruno was messing with her since she grew up alongside him and should know what kind of person he is at this point. I also wonder if Pepa even stood up for Bruno when the town was making her brother out to be some monster, BEFORE he left I mean. That’s sort of ANOTHER reason to my statement, though it’s mainly one more reason. In the ending, you have Bruno apologize to her, and she listens yes, but when he tries to apologize more when he says “lot of apologies I got to say!”- Pepa and Julieta sort of just act like everything’s fine, and when you think about it, Pepa made it clear that she was upset, but when this man actually tries to apologize, the whole vibe I got was just “JK WE MISSED YOU” and it rubbed me off the wrong way. BEFORE YOU WRING MY NECK THOUGH, I do find the ending heartwarming at the same time. I find it tearjerking that deep down she missed her brother, and they DO say the line “no matter what happens we’re ganna find our way”- implying that even if they have their screw ups, things are going to be okay in the end. Here’s the thing, I feel like if we had more time dedicated to the relationship between her and her brother, THEN I think I would like Pepa fully.....if that....makes sense? I’m really trying to pull my direct thoughts and explain to all of you what I mean but it’s all difficult. I don’t blame the writers for not elaborating on their relationship, because they didn’t enough time, it’s obvious why they didn’t. However if they DID have enough time, I think that’s all it would take, then I’d be able to like Pepa all the way. Right now I don’t really, because it seems like she saw her brother as an issue, only to act like everything was okay between them in the end, and never really acted rational towards him in certain departments, (but again, not the writers fault, they had to end on a happy note). That’s sort of why whenever I watch the movie, her moments on Bruno bother me because it gets me thinking. Let me say this though, she’s a flawed character, ALL characters are flawed, that’s how life works, just like all PEOPLE are flawed. Having flawed characters IS NOT A BAD THING. I just needed to share all of this to the internet because it was honestly driving me crazy. I needed to get all of this off my chest so I could feel better in a way you could say, and now that it’s all out, I thank you for hearing me out. Pepa will ALWAYS be one of my favorite characters, I love her so much, I really do, but I felt like I needed to share the other emotions to her character that I had.
With this whole thing coming to a close, what are YOUR thoughts on Pepa? What are your thoughts on Pepa and Bruno’s relationship? And don’t be afraid to have an unpopular opinion, I won’t judge. Finally, what are your thoughts on my essay....book....analysis thingy....? Please feel free to share whatever thoughts you have below! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to collapse from all that typing. Goodbye! 💕👋

Highlights of the Katy and Erika Q&A
Link to the Q&A! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1161022793
- Erika’s first audition with a scene partner was with Han Soto (Gabe)! Neither of them had gotten their parts yet, but Han still called “I’ll see you on set!” over his shoulder as he was leaving. Erika also said that he was a wonderful mentor figure and also someone who gave her a lot of shit, like an older brother would.
- THEY ANSWERED MY QUESTION!!! 😭 I had asked, "Since you were working on this game for several years, how do you think your performance or skills as an actor changed over time as you got to know your character better?"
Erika explained that in an early callback, she had to act out Gabe’s death scene and got into the moment by imagining that her little brother Evan had died. Later on she realized that it wasn’t healthy or sustainable to go to such dark places mentally over and over: “It's great to bring your lived experience in but not at the at the level of sacrificing your own health.” She later referred to the Lucid Body Technique invented by a dancer named Fay Simpson that she learned while on an acting retreat in Creed, CO (”Fun fact, Creed is actually a small mining town that was saved by theater!”). Instead of calling up traumatic memories, Erika focused on where that emotion “lives” in her body, accessed them safely, and was able to bring herself back to the present moment. Katy also mentioned she studied the technique in college. All super interesting stuff!
- Han pulled so many pranks on set that Webb (performance director) and Corwin (mocap producer) forced him to limit it to “one prank per day... on Erika.” He managed to jumpscare her every time and when she tried to get him back, “He didn’t even blink. I was like ‘What the fuck is going on?”
- Alex evolved a lot over the course of writing the game. Apparently the first iteration of Alex was a lot more like Chloe-- very bitter, brittle and with a lot of repressed anger-- but that got softened as they developed Alex’s power and as Erika brought more of herself to the performance.
- Apparently Gabe’s death scene was fun to film because when Gabe got knocked off the cliff, Erika got pulled in a sled to simulate Alex being pulled toward the edge while tied to Gabe. So they did a million takes of that and Erika just got to sit in a sled. Meanwhile Katy was at a butterfly garden down the street.
- Another fun scene (apparently) was when Alex fell down the mineshaft at the end of chapter 4 and the beginning of chapter 5, as Erika describes: “They basically rigged me up to a swing, like a sex swing-- not a sex swing. I mean, I walked in and I think that was my first question. I was like ‘Is that a sex swing? What are we filming today? I didn’t get these scripts.’” Cue the chat going insane.
What actually happened was she hung onto a board and two pulleys dropped on either side of her so she fell onto a crash pad. Apparently Webb practiced before and “really bruised the shit out of his ribs.”
- The “The crowd is really picking up on my energy. Haaaaa we love you Alex! Haaaaa Steph sucks!” line during the foosball game was entirely improvised by Erika, just having fun on set. Erika also admits she’s very chatty and just enjoyed getting to know her castmates so that they were already all friends when they acted together.
- Webb sent Han and Erika on a day trip to Idaho Springs early in production to bond and of course Han suggested they go gambling (Erika added, “Which of course is something that Gabe would do! Like ‘Let’s go do something sinful.”) They also played with Han’s drone. Katy went to see one of Erika’s plays in Colorado!
- When asked about what Erika would do if she had Alex’s powers: “I think it would be a cool power too because there’s so much covering that happens with all of us in social settings and professional settings. And being able to have insight into what’s really going on would probably create the need to be a much a kinder, generous, forgiving person, which are things that I’m always working on. I don’t think you could not become that.”
- Erika on Asian representation in True Colors: "[Alex is] not the best friend, she's not the tiger mom, she's her own fully realized, three dimensional person with flaws and goals and dreams and things she wished she could do over again. And I think that, for me, as somebody who grew up not seeing people who looked like me in movies-- and that's why Lucy Liu was such a fucking huge deal-- but the fact that D9 didn't do it in a tropey way was incredible. I know how important that Alex is a woman of color. She doesn't fit the mold of typical video game female bodies either, which I think is amazing."
- Erika lowkey hated the mocap suits. She couldn’t understand why Katy didn’t mind them and said “Katy. Katy. Katy.” “No it was so comfy it was like I was in my jammies!” “I remember you said that and I was like ‘What the fuck is wrong with you?! This is not comfortable!’”
- Erika’s advice to aspiring creatives: “Don’t let the fear of being bad at something stop you.”
- E: “I feel like I've been talking a lot" K: “This is your interview!" E: “Yeah I know but your voice is better.” K: “What?! MA’AM. MA’AM??”
- When Erika and Katy talk about teleportation as a superpower: “Or like when you wake up in the middle of the night and you have to pee, like ‘Should I just pee my pants? Or should I walk to the-- it’s just so far.”
- When Erika mentioned she grew up with a Golden Retriever the chat went “RYAN THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER”
- Erika’s closing remarks: I cannot wait for y’all to play the DLC because Wavelengths is gonna be the shit. And I’m gonna tell you why! Because it’s all about Steph! Which means it’s all about Katy! It’s gonna be so fucking good you guys. It’s gonna be beautiful. It’s gonna be funny. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll want to live in Haven Springs even more. You’ll want to marry Katy Bentz. What more could you ask for?? K: Could you be my hype woman forever please?

Shinsou kept his blinds opened when he gamed. He always joked with his viewers that it was for the natural lighting.
“Y’all know the sun really brings out the purple in my eyes.” He’d smirk, and that was that.
They didn’t need to know the real reason he kept them open. His violet eyes flitted towards the window again as he mindlessly navigated the game. That’s when he saw you walking into the complex.
“Uhh, alright guys, I think that’s about it for today. I’ll be back on tonight for our midnight stream,” his eyes flicked over to the window again. You were checking the mailbox. Perfect. “Until next time, later guys.”
Shinsou quickly shut off his computer and threw on a pair of shoes before rushing down the stairs.
“Hey there bookworm.” Shinsou grinned as he approached you.
As soon as you turned and flashed him your little brace face smile, he felt an arrow pierce his heart. God you were adorable. With your colorful braces and glasses and pretty chocolate dimples.
“Hey yourself, e-boy.” You replied.
“Get anything interesting?” Shinsou nodded at your stack of mail as he opened his own mailbox.
“A new book.”
“Of course,” he shot you a smirk.
“Of course,” you giggled.
“Well, hey, that’s what makes you my little book worm.” He teased.
You glanced away your shy little dimpled smile making his heart flutter.
“Well, I better get upstairs,” you said, “I have studying to do.”
“Alright then,” Shinsou’s heart sank a bit at the thought of losing time with you. “Mind if I walk up with you?”
“Sure!”
Shinsou let you lead the way.
You two were neighbors and had come to be good friends; often walking up to your apartments together. So you thought nothing of it when he took up space behind you. Not even feeling the predatory gaze on your ass.
Shinsou’s friendly face fell into an almost hungry gaze as you strutted in front of him. There was something about your cute face juxtaposed with your stacked curves that drove him crazy. Your round ass bounced with every step as you led the way up the stairs. He tucked his hands in the pockets of his joggers and stroked the bulge growing in his pants as your ass wiggled.
Stop being such a creep man.
He chastised himself as you bounced up the stairs, but fuck he couldn’t help it.
All he could imagine was how loud he could make your soft little voice scream for him while he pounded into your thick ass from the back or watched your bouncy tits jiggle in his face.
“Hey, y/n,” Shinsou piped up before he could stop himself.
“Yeah?” You cocked your head.
Cutie.
“I was wondering if you wanted to come over and order take out. We can just watch a movie or somethin’..or not! I don’t want you to think I’m tryna Netflix and chill or something!” Even though he totally was.
You felt your face burn. In all the time you and Shinsou had been neighbors, you had always had a crush on him, but never knew how to express it. You honestly never expected anything more than friendly mailbox banter; so getting invited to his house was a pleasant surprise to say the least.
“O-oh, um—Sure!”
“Really? Ahh, I have to stream tonight at midnight, but how bout eight?”
Your cheeks burned as you nodded. “Sounds good.”
“Alright, I now have an hour to make this place look presentable.” Shinsou gazed around his messy bachelor pad.
He managed to make his place decent and changed from his joggers into jeans and a t-shirt. He even combed his messy purple locks a bit. He wanted to look good for you guys’ first hang out session. After all, he couldn’t believe you had actually agreed to hang out with him. Shinsou had been crushing on you for months, but he didn’t think he was actually good enough for you. You were smart and studious and hard working and he was pretty sure you only viewed him as a lazy gamer guy.
That was why he had to impress you. This was his first shot to make a real impression and maybe score a real date with you.
He wondered how you would wear your hair and makeup. If he’d finally get to see those curves of yours hugged in a dress. He groaned aloud, thinking about running his fingers over your body.
“Fuck...” he muttered, feeling his dick flex at the thought of your thick chocolate body writhing under his.
Shinsou stroked himself through his jeans growing harder as his thoughts about you ran wild.
I can’t act like this when she’s around. I’ll scare her off for sure.
Ok. He had twenty minutes. He could just rub one out, right? That way when you got there he wouldn’t be thinking about throwing you on the kitchen table and deep dicking you until you were a groaning mess.
You knocked at Shinsou’s front door. You stepped back and bounced on your toes a bit.
When he opened the door, you felt your heart quicken. He looked so handsome. You weren’t used to seeing him in jeans and you could see how well sculpted his chest was through his shirt.
“Hey, bookworm.” He smiled.
“Hi, you.” You replied.
“Come on in.”
As soon as Shinsou ushered you inside you were intrigued by all the cool super hero posters and pictures of friends on the family.
“DC guy, huh?” You smirked at him as you observed his DC posters.
“For the most part,” Shinsou replied, coming up to your side. “I like the world building more in DC; feels a bit more real to me than Marvel. I don’t know why, but I have to admit I like Marvel’s villains more.”
“Hmm. I’m the opposite.”
Shinsou’s brow quirked as he grinned down at you.
“Oh yeah?”
You nod, shrugging. “I just think marvel has cooler, more powerful heroes and I like the world building in marvel. But I think DC has cooler villains and I like the grimmer grittier vibe.”
“Hmmm, let me find out my bookworm is a comic buff.”
Your heart fluttered again at the possessive nickname, but you mask it with a grin. “Try me.”
By the time the pizza arrives you and Shinsou are deep in your conversation about movies, comics, books, and your favorite shows.
Shinsou proudly shows you his custom PC and set up and swells with pride at how you gush over his build.
He loves hearing about your studies and theories and you guys bounce ideas off of each other for hours.
Before you both know it, it’s eleven o’clock.
“I’m so sorry, Shin. I didn’t mean to hold you up.”
“Trust me, y/n, if it wasn’t for that alarm I wouldn’t have even noticed the time. This has been really fun.”
The grin that lit up your face made your dark eyes sparkle and Shinsou desperately wanted to kiss you.
“Yeah. It was fun. I’m really glad we did this.”
“Yeah, totally. We should...do it again sometime. Maybe we can go out for dinner next weekend?” He offered, carefully.
You glanced away, sweetly, composing yourself before meeting his eyes again with a shy nod.
“I’d like that a lot.”
“Cool,” Shinsou grinned, scratching the back of his neck as a blush burned on his cheeks. Guess I’ll hop over next door and pick you up huh?” He chuckled.
“Sure.” You giggled back. “Well...night, Shin, have fun on your stream.”
“Night, y/n.” He smiled back.
As soon as you were out the door, Shinsou wanted to whoop and holler. Holy shit! He couldn’t believe he’d finally did it! Not only did he ask you to hang out, he scored an actual date with you!
Not only that, he finally got to know you beyond just a few words, and you were totally cool!
Knowing how cool and interesting you are coupled with your sweet, shy nature just made you more attractive to him.
He couldn’t help being even more turned on. You were like the perfect girl. Shy and sweet and nerdy and cool and Thicc as fuck.
He couldn’t wait to get to know you better in more ways than one...
He felt himself stirring once again and sighed, palming himself through his jeans.
“Dammit,” he muttered, eyes fluttering shut in frustration. “I’ve really gotta stop working myself up over you, bookworm.”
Alright. He had an hour. He could take care of his ‘little problem’ before he started his stream. He would be thinking of you riding his face the whole time.

Jealousy, Jealousy
Tumblr media
A few weeks had gone by and you hadn’t seen the Pogues since the morning after the argument with Kie. You didn’t speak to Kie, but you occasionally spoke with JJ and the others every so often. Kie would never realize but you felt like shit ever since her outburst and you weren’t sure why but you didn’t feel good enough to hang around the Pogues anymore.
Anonymous asked: Can i request where reader feels she's no longer good enough to be around the pogues because kiara doesn't like her and is jealous of how she is with them?
Summary: Kiara had always been jealous of Y/N, whether it be the way she looked, talked, carried herself, or the way she was perceived by the island. One thing Kiara could never get over was how she was with the other pogues. She had been around longer, leaving her closer to all of them making Kiara feel as though she was always missing some inside joke. After a night of drinking Kiara explodes, leaving an awkward tension between the group.
"Are you coming to the Boneyard tonight?" Joh B asked, breaking you from your thoughts.
"Uh, I'm honestly not sure. Promised I'd be home at a reasonable time tonight." You said with a slight laugh.
"Oh, come on what's one more day being out late?" JJ asked slinging his arm across your shoulders.
"J, you know how my mom gets when I break promises."
"Yeah guys, just let her stay home if she doesn't want to come. It's just one party." Kie said uninterested.
You shot a confused look to the guys and then looked at Kie.
"Don't sound so happy I won't go." You said with a laugh.
"No, no, no that's not what I meant at all," Kie said quickly.
"I'm just kidding Kie."
"But really, you should come if you can Y/N/N," Pope said as JB pulled into Kie's dock.
"We'll see."
..............................................................................................................................
"Y/N just let me know if stay at John B's tonight. I don't mind you going out, I'm gonna have an early night anyway." Your mom said.
"I will mom, I love you."
"Love you too, let us know if you need anything."
You nodded your head and headed to your room to change. You weren't exactly in the most party mood, so you just opted for a pair of sweat shorts and a swimsuit top.
By the time you had gotten to the Boneyard the party was in full swing. Everyone was drunk or having a good time with other substances.
You laughed to yourself as you went in search of your friends. Spotting JJ and Pope first you smiled and ran up to them.
"Hey, you made it!" Pope said hugging you.
"Yeah, my mom decided she was going to bed early, didn't want me to miss the fun."
"Well good, we're gonna have a bonfire after this back at the Chateau," JJ said.
"Alright cool." You said with a smile.
Your smile quickly vanished as your eyes laid on Kie, who was completely hammered and crying.
"Kie! What's wrong?" You asked quickly, helping the girl to sit.
"Like you don't know." She said with a bitter laugh.
"What?" You asked removing your hand from her back.
"Gosh you are so damn oblivious aren't you? You are what's wrong."
Your eyebrows scrunched together as you looked at your friends for help.
"Kie she didn't do anything." John B said coming to your defense.
"This is my issue! You all defend her and she has no faults does she?!" Kie screamed.
"Kiara, stop." Pope tried.
"NO! You can't tell me I need to stop! She's the reason you all make me feel like I'm missing something, some kind of inside joke. Little miss perfect everything makes me feel like I'm not good enough and never will be. I wish I could have the relationship she has with all of you, but that could only be accomplished by her having met you after me. Just another pogue born who met you guys first. I don’t like her.” She spat.
"Alright, I've had enough." You muttered turning to walk away.
"What? You can't stand to hear this because you know it's true? I'm sure you do it on purpose. You want the whole island to know of you like this cool, chill girl and that makes them think I'm stuck up because I'm not just like you."
"You sound so stupid right now! You don't have to be me, jealousy is a hell of a thing. If you listened at all while we were best friends instead of picking out everything about me that makes you feel terrible, you would know my life is far from perfect. I don't try and make you feel bad. Kie everyone has their struggles, especially with comparing themselves to other girls. This is by no means fair to just assume that you are the only one out of us who has them." You said and walked away this time done with the conversation at hand.
"Hey, where are you going?" JJ asked, running to grab your hand.
"I'm going home. I knew I should've stayed there. I'll see you guys tomorrow or something." You said with a sigh.
"No. She doesn't get to chase you off. She does not get the power. Let's go to the Chateau and lay down. I'm not letting you drive in this emotional state." JJ said looking at you worriedly.
He watched you carefully as your eyes filled with tears.
"It's fine J, go enjoy the party. My house is like 10 minutes away. I'll call my mom and have her watcha movie with me when I get home."
"I already know you were just going to sit in your room and ignore everyone for a week while you bottle up your emotions." He said taking the car keys from your hand.
You sighed and allowed him to help you into the passenger side. He gripped your hand after he got into the driver's side and began the short drive back to the Chateau. The conversation he tried to start quickly fell into an unanswered silence as you stared ahead at the road.
When your truck pulled into the Chateau's drive and JJ came and helped you out again even though you were more than capable of doing it on your own.
"Let's go get ready for bed." He mumbled against your ear, leading you to the spare room. You sighed when you knew the night would finally be drama-free.
"Want tea? Water? Beer?" JJ asked, causing you to shake your head in response.
You turned your back to JJ and unclipped your swimsuit top, bending down to grab one of his discarded T-shirts. Your shorts quickly followed suit of your top and you climbed into bed. Taking your phone you texted your mom to let her know you were staying at John B’s.
“Hey don’t shut me out,” JJ said reaching for your shoulder.
“I just don’t get it. I would never make Kie feel like that on purpose. I just I don’t know J.”
“Just try and get some sleep. We’ll figure it out in the morning. Sound good?”
You nodded your head despite knowing you would go home tomorrow morning.
..............................................................................................................................
You woke up and groaned. You didn’t want to deal with Kie or have to face the tension she created in the group. Tugging JJ’s arm off your waist, you stood up and looked around for some of your clothes. It was a mess of things thrown around on the floor.
“Hey what’re you doin,” JJ asked sitting up.
“Going home,” you replied.
JJ’s face contorted in confusion before he climbed out of bed.
“Hey. Look at me.” He said as he grabbed your chin.
“J I can’t right now, okay?”
“She doesn’t get this power of you. We can all make our own decisions.”
“I get that but I need to go home and see my mom. I’ll text you guys I promise. Can you help me find some clothes though? This place is a shit show.”
He chuckled and dug around before tossing you a bra and one of your shirts. You pulled out a pair of your panties and your shorts from the night before and headed to the bathroom.
Once you were changed you went to the kitchen to see John B leaning against the counter.
“Sup,” he said watching you.
“Hey.”
“Where ya going?”
“Home. My mom was expecting me home last night but J wouldn’t let me drive.” You said pulling your shoes on.
“Just so you know there are no harsh feelings towards you it’s towards Kie for acting like that.”
You nodded and looked at the floor. You felt him embrace you and you reluctantly hugged him back.
“I mean it, so stop beating yourself up for what she said and what she feels, okay?” He asked pushing you to an arm's length.
“Yeah, I got it.” You mumbled, “I’ll see y’all later.”
..............................................................................................................................
After being home for a while you went upstairs to be by yourself since you’d sat with your mom for advice and to watch a random show with her.
Your phone was seemingly vibrating to no end when you arrived in your room. Picking it up you were getting a FaceTime call from the boys.
Deciding to pick up you saw them smiling at you.
“We couldn’t get you to answer any of our texts we thought we were gonna have to bust in your house,” Pope said with a laugh.
“Yeah sorry I left my phone in my room while I was with my mom. What’s up?”
“We wanted to have the bonfire tonight since it didn’t work out last night,” JB spoke.
“I’m okay, invite Kie though. Sure she’d love to have you guys all to herself. Maybe she’ll even replace my friendship.” You said sarcastically.
“Shut up, you know she can’t, it’s a different friendship between us and you and us and her,” JJ said with a glare.
“Ye-“ you started but you were stopped by your mom calling for you.
“Gotta go guys, but yeah won’t be able to make it out tonight. Love you!” You said before hanging up.
You sighed knowing that you were just making the decision easier for them by distancing yourself. If Kie didn’t like you and didn’t want you around you would be busy when they wanted to hang out.
..............................................................................................................................
It was obvious none of the other Pogues felt the way as Kie, they would have booted you from the friend group long before, but there was just the feeling that you could not shake.
.............................................................................................................................
Your days were pretty normal, helping your mom run her shop, surfing in the evening or in the mornings, fixing up various parts of your house, and sometimes going to the beach to relax and tan. This day however was not relaxing at all, all of the Pogues decided to make an appearance, Kie included. You looked in their direction before picking up your stuff and beginning to head home.
You were beginning to walk over the dune when Kie called out to you, causing you to turn and look at the girl. Folding your arms you waited for the group to approach. Kie greeted you with a smile, which you glared at.
"Glad to see you're happy you got what you wanted." You sneered at her.
"This isn't what I wanted." Kie defended.
"Yeah, I'm sure it's not. I gotta go," You said and turned away from her.
Kiara grabbed your arm and you began to pull your arm away from her.
"Do not touch me," You seethed, glaring at the brunette girl.
"What is your issue?" Kiara groaned, looking to the guys for defense.
"You are my problem, sorry to use your own words against you. You made me feel like I couldn't come around my friends, the people I treat and call my family because I make you feel like shit! Now I'm the one left feeling like they aren't good enough. So congrats Kie, you got what you always wanted! Them to yourself." You stated and with that, you walked away.

night of fun
Tumblr media
y e s
i had way too much fun with this thank you anon for feeding my mind u-u
see part one here!
summary: a week has passed since the ‘incident’ and megumi’s thoughts have gone haywire and are utterly filled with you.
cw: smut with a semi plot (shes long cuz i got carried away), fem! reader
[lower case intended + not proofread]
Tumblr media
—————————
the air was thick and it was hot. megumi was training with the third years while you sat on the sidelines with yuuji and nobara. his focus was all on you. how your skin has a slight glow from the heat; how the sun rays caused your skin to heat; how the heat caused you to hike your skirt up though it was against school rules. you were infecting his mind—his body.
panda landed a ruthless blow into megumi’s stomach, launching him a couple meters across the field. coughing, megumi sat up, and the third years walked over.
“what’s up with you megumi? you’ve been so distracted lately,” maki began.
“tuna,” inumaki agreed from behind her with one hand on his hip. with a final throat-clearing cough megumi began,
“i’m fine. just have a lot on my mind. nothing serious.”
“is it y/n?” megumi’s head jerked in shock, and he could feel his cheeks slightly heat. he only hoped he could mask it and blame it on the hot day. “it is so y/n,” maki smirked, “did y’all fight or something?” megumi deadpanned.
“no, we didn’t.”
“she blue-ball you?” she asked again. megumi scowled and stood, his cheeks now flaming.
“it’s not like that. stay out of it. it’s my business.” he stomped away like a child. the third years huddled together and unanimously agreed that it indeed was like that.
megumi approached the group of three sitting on the sidelines. he saw you sat in between yuuji and nobara showing them something on your phone. he looks at your thighs which were missing their stockings from you possibly running late. your uniform jacket was missing--replaced by the tight, white button-up shirt you wear in case it gets hot. he’s always loved that shirt.
then he noticed how seemly close yuuji was sitting to you. he knows neither of you would ever do anything but he’s always felt slightly self-conscious of yuuji. yuuji was physically stronger; yuuji had pure power and he didn’t. he saw yuuji place his chin on your shoulder and snuggle into your neck.
you noticed megumi’s presence and gasped. your eyes sparkled and you had the biggest smile. you dropped everything you were holding and ran over to him, holding megumi in a hug. though megumi knew he shouldn’t feel the way he did, he felt smug and looked at yuuji in the eyes with a glare and a smile as he hugged you. yuuji looked back confused.
“we were just watching part of a movie that yuuji watched while he was training with gojo.” his smile returned to a frown. for the past couple of days, yuuji has all you’ve been talking about. it’s been yuuji this and yuuji that. “speaking of yuuji, i’m gonna be in his dorm after school helping him study.”
“oh? until when?” you shrugged.
“i don’t know. whenever we finish.” megumi sighed and pulled away.
“alright. well, let me go back to--” yuuji interrupted him.
“y/n come back so we can play the movie.”
“gimme a second, yuu,” you said back. megumi turned to you confused.
“yuu?” you cocked your head to the side and giggled.
“what? it’s just a nickname, megumi. anyways get back to training before they yell at you.” you turned around and went back to the duo waiting for you. megumi stood there shocked for a second then turned and walked back towards centerfield. all he could think about was the stupid nickname and how you didn’t kiss him goodbye.
—————————
the sun was now setting. megumi was gathering his things and inumaki came up to megumi. he handed him a note.
just talk to her, don’t let things get between you two because you didn’t voice what was bothering you. you know what’s wrong, but she doesn’t. instead of staying quiet, use your words and open up. that is the only solution.
inumaki left megumi to think on his own with a final shoulder pat. megumi looked back at the note and read it over again. he sighed and rubbed at his eye in exhaustion. he folded the letter back neatly and slipped it in his pocket.
—————————
“nothing is working!” yuuji laughed as you continued to complain. “i mean, think about it. we came with this plan to make megumi jealous and nothing has worked. i didn’t even give him his good-bye kiss today!”
“well, there’s still one last thing we could do.” you rolled your eyes.
“and what might that be oh wise one?”
“megumi always gets to the dorms at 8:30, right?”
“yeah, and?”
“we’re supposed to be studying, right?” your shoulders slumped, and you groaned.
“where are you going with this?”
“if megumi hears some...uhh...well- how should I put this?...questionable noises as he passes by the room--that’ll be his last straw.” you nodded understandingly. you agreed to the plan with one final worry,
“i just hope he doesn't break up with me.”
—————————
the corridor was dark as usual on his training days. never missing a beat, megumi walks down the hallway expecting to only hear his footsteps, though we don't all get what we expect.
“yuu! fuck-- please!” megumi’s footsteps stop right before he can fully pass itadori’s dorm.
“come on, y/n. try a little harder and maybe i’ll give you what you want.”
“yuuji, please, I need it. please!” the little show was accompanied by grunts and groans from you.
megumi felt something inside of him snap. he tore the door open almost breaking the doorknob in the process. he saw both you and yuuji standing while yuuji held something--he assumes its school supplies--over your head while you’re trying to grab it. both of you are in casual clothing and out of your daily school uniforms. you both stare at megumi in the door entrance.
megumi fumes and grabs you by your wrist. he dragged you into his room, locking the door behind him. megumi turned on a couple of the lamps in his room. he drops all of his stuff and turns jaggedly to face you.
“what has been going on?” he asks surprisingly calmer than he looks.
“what do you--”
“you know what i’m talking about. what between you and yuuji, huh?” you crossed your arms and frowned.
“first of all,” you stepped closer and turned your nose up to him, “do not interrupt me. second,” you turned around sheepishly, “itadori wanted to see what you would seem like jealous, and” you slumped, regretful, “i agreed.”
megumi sighed and rubbed his hand across his face. he walked up and hugged you from behind. “so you still love me?” you scoffed.
“what? of course I do.” megumi nodded. you two stood in silence, until he spoke up with an idea.
“will you make it up to me?”
“i will...but how?” his hands slowly lift your shirt, letting just his hands under. he moves his head from your neck to rest against your ear.
“i have something in mind,” he said. his left hand reached towards your right tit while the other hand played with the waistband of your athletic shorts. you leaned back into him feeling him harden. you turn in his embrace and kiss him. the kiss was passionate but soft.
megumi led you towards the bed, laying you down. he caged you in, pinning you to the bed. he sat on his heels to see you. your face was flushed, and you were slightly trembling.
“don’t just stare.” he laughed breathlessly.
“i’m sorry, y/n. you’re just so pretty,” his voice trailed to low whisper as he leaned into your neck, “it makes me wanna go all the way.” he peppered feathery kisses onto your jaw—so intoxicating it made your mind spin in circles and your body squirm.
“wait,” you said. “are you sure?”
“what?” he asked lazily, still suckling on your skin.
“what if gojo comes in and—“ he kissed you, then rested his forehead against yours.
“forget gojo. i want you,” he went back down to your collarbone, “i want to make you feel good.”
“megumi,” you managed to say.
“hmm?”
“take me.” he stilled, but the words shot straight to his dick. the way you would say his name in the breathless, pitched voice made his cock twitch. he stuffed his face in the dip of your neck and groaned. he collected himself and crashed his lips into yours. it was messy. teeth would clash and spit covered each other’s mouths. though the love each had for one another never diminished. you could feel him pouring his love, heart, and soul—telling you, through the kiss, to take him as well.
his thumbs hooked the waistband of your shorts and pulled them down along with your panties. you sat up and took your shirt off and your bra. he pushed you back down and kissed you. he kissed you and kissed you, and you felt your lips bruising from his force. your hands reached to his shirt, and you signal for him to take it off. swiftly, he took his sweats and shirt off, leaving him in his boxers.
he went back to kissing you. he couldn’t get enough. megumi wanted to kiss every angle, crevice, inch—he wanted to kiss all over—he wanted to make sure not piece of you was left untouched. if you’d let him, he’d ravage you in one blow.
his hands began to tease your inner thighs, but always too high or too low. his kisses began to follow the path down you jaw to your collar bone. his fingers finally touched you where you wanted—needed him most; his middle finger spreading your wetness between your folds. his kisses turned impatient. he marked you with his teeth, leaving love bites behind as he moved farther down.
your gasps, breaths, and soft moans were music to his ears. they made his mind go fuzzy and his eye sight waver. he was drunk on you; he was drunk on the sounds, the smell, the taste of you.
megumi’s lips attached to you left breast which made you yelp. at the same time, a finger slipped into your cunt, followed by a second, then a third. one by one, each stretching you out, and preparing you for him. the sensation made you wriggle around. your knee dug into his cock, making him moan out. you continued to pleasure him, the vibrations from his sounds heightening your own pleasure.
“megumi—“ you whined, “please. i need more.” he chuckled and detached from your breast with a slight pop. his lips hovered against yours, not entirely kissing you.
“patience, princess.” his fingers sped up and his thumb grazed against your clit, making you arch your back.
“please,” you whimpered back. “fuck me, megumi. please?” you bucked your hips into his hands, in attempt to convince him more. with a final cry, megumi cursed at himself and removed himself from you, leaving you on the bed catching your breath and your thighs twitching. megumi got rid of his boxers—throwing them on floor with the rest of the scattered clothes.
his rummaged his drawers for the condoms maki got him as a gag gift for his birthday. megumi tore the packet open with his teeth and slipped it on. you look over to see him walking back. the bed creaked with his added weight, and a smile of anticipation graced your face. megumi gave some final kisses to your inner thighs while he got comfortable. he held the back of your thighs up, using his shoulder as leverage.
you helped line up his cock, and he pushed in. finally in, megumi moaned while you let out soft puffs, trying to adjust. he moved slowly, not wanting to hurt you as the way felt against him made it awfully hard to.
“so good—ahh!” you couldn’t help but get louder. “megumi,” you moaned, “you feel so good—fuck!” your hips moved along with his, and megumi felt something in him snap. he groaned and apologized,
“i’m sorry, baby. i can’t help it.”
“s’ okay,” you managed out before your head finally turned to mush. megumi’s thrust sped, and his hands moved to your hips pulling them into him harder and harder. megumi’s eyes crossed, getting lost in the pleasure. he felt your walls flutter against him, signaling you’re close. his right thumb found your clit again. he felt you tighten against him. “oh! megumi, i’m gonna cum!”
“cum for me, baby.” you tensed, and your voice cracked at your final wail. he rode out your orgasm and into his. he came into the condom, and he dropped next to you. you took the condom off and tossed it in the bin.
megumi welcomed you back into bed with kisses and cuddles under the covers. “that was amazing,” you whispered.
“it was,” he whispered back with a smile. he dug his nose into your hair with his arms around you and dozed off to sleep.
—————————
the door being opened harshly startled megumi awake.
“rise and shine-“
“gojo-sensei!” megumi yelled, stirring you awake. gojo saw the bedsheets fall from your bare shoulders and understood what had happened. gojo bursted out laughing and closed the door, still laughing after it was fully shut. “shit!”
“what’s wrong, baby? who was that?” you asked still groggy.
“gojo.” the sleepiness was replaced with adrenaline quickly, and you bursted from the bed naked.
“gojo?!” megumi smiled seeing you flail around for your clothes.
after both of you were decent, you walked out of megumi’s dorm, and gojo was still laughing. yuuji was also laughing. megumi rolled his eyes.
“hey megumi, did you at least wrap it before you tapped it?” gojo’s laughing increased.
“yeah, you two were quite loud. please remember the thin walls next time,” yuuji snickered.
“sorry, yuuji. his dick was just too big.” you shrugged and dragged megumi away past the bathroom area. both of you were laughing after seeing yuuji’s disgusted face and gojo’s eyes popping out of sockets from laughing too hard.

Hope you’ll enjoy 😉
“Hi doll, what you’re up to?” He smirks as he nibs my neck
“Just working. Why? Do you need something?” I ask as I remove my reading glasses
“I do, actually”
“What do you need babe?” I look up to his blue eyes that were filled with mischief
“You” He grinned
“Jon, I thought you needed something urgent” I chuckle
“I do!” He pulls me off my desk chair “I missed you so much” He cradled his face on the crook of my neck
“Jon, we’ve had sex six times yesterday and two times this morning, how can you physically still miss me?” I laugh “That’s like, 8 rounds in less than 24 hours babe! And you only got home yesterday”
“I can’t help it that you’re so fucking hot and looks so sexy all the time” He licks a trail from my neck to my lips
I look down to my current outfit that consisted in a comfortable pair of grey leggings, an oversized Korn t-shirt, Wilson’s crew socks, glasses, messy hair and no makeup
“I don’t think I look very sexy right now” I cackled
“Yes you do! You always do!” He pulls me closer to his crotch by my ass “C’mon Y/N, let’s do some fun nasty business, kitten” He slaps my ass quite vigorously
“Tempting, but I’ll have to decline it! Sorry big guy” I patted his chest
“Why?” He whined and stomped his feet like a little kid
“Because some of us got some serious work to do” I smiled fondly as I sit back in my desk chair
“But I wanna be with you! I need you and I want you now!” He pouted
“Jon, I promise you that once I finish this I’ll be all yours ok love?”
“No” He whines “Not later, right now!” He stomps his feet again
Yes, Jon Moxley can be quite the bad boy, but what a lot of people don’t know is that he’s also a fucking whining little baby! He gets an attitude over the dumbest reasons and sometimes this little scenario happens, where he thinks he can whine and pouts his way until he get what he wants. Sometimes it’s cute and charming to see such a big bearded man like him cause such a scene, but another times like right now it’s annoyingly frustrating, uncalled for and the last thing I need to get me even more stressed out.
“Jonathan, don’t start it! You’re not 4 years old! You’re a grown ass man in your 30’s, so behave as such” I turn to my computer and start to type my notes. After 10 minutes I can still feel his presence behind me, making me grow more nervous
“Jon, you’re not helping, my love” I said calmly
“I’m waiting. You said I would have you once you’re done so I’m waiting!” He bitterly said
“Won’t you rather wait in the couch instead? Meanwhile you can pick a movie for us to watch it later” I try to negotiate
“Meh, I’m perfect where I am right now, thanks for the concern” He huffed
*Oh great, what a fucking joy!* I thought
“This might take a while” I defeatedly said
“Don’t worry, I got time” Was his short answer
Fifteen minutes (and a stubborn Jon Moxley sitting on the floor) later I get a call from Peter, my coworker.
“Hey Peter what’s up?” I say holding my phone to my ear with my shoulder “What? Wait Peter, hold on I can’t hear you properly and I can’t stop typing”
“Well, put it on speaker then” Jon mumbled behind me and in my workaholic haze I did it as he told me, forgetting about one little small detail: Peter’s innocent (but also kind of annoying) flirting.
“Pete, can you repeat that again please?” I rapidly say while I type
“I asked when do you think you can send me the paperwork?” He chuckled
“Oh! Can you give me like....30 minutes?”
“I can give you whatever you want” He charmingly said
“Peter, shut up”
“What?” He cackled “It’s true you know, ask and you shall receive, my dear”
“I didn’t knew you were a Jesus fan” I mocked
“I’m your fan” I can hear the smile on his voice
“Whatever weirdo” I brush it off as I continue to type on the dashboard “Is that all you needed?”
“No, there’s one more thing that I forgot to ask you”
“Ok, shoot” I said
“When are you finally going to accept any of my nightcaps invitations?” Pure amusement filling up his voice
“Oh God send me to hell, fuck off Peter!” I jokingly said and hung up
I totally forgot the fact that Jon had heard that until his voice broke the silence
“So how long have you been seeing each other?” He rudely spats
“What? Seeing who?” I ask confused
He stood up from the floor, yanked me off the chair and trapped my body between his and the table.
“Your sweet boy Pete” he coldly smiles
I roll my eyes “Jon, are you really gonna take a guy like Peter seriously? He quotes Jesus to flirt! That’s nothing but pathetic and also slight disrespectful towards Jesus” I joke
“You think this is funny? What if you caught me flirting with a girl from work, how would that make you feel?”
“It depends if you’re gonna quote Jesus or not” I tease
“Y/N I’m fucking serious! Is this a joke to you? Our relationship is a joke to you? Am I a fucking joke to you?”
“My answer is no to all the above. Now if you ask me if I think that you’re overreacting then yes, I do”
“Overreacting? Really? What about all of the nightcaps invitations? Are you gonna tell me I’m overreacting about that too?” His voice starts to rise
“I don’t like your tone Jonathan” I angrily said
“And I don’t like you having an affair with your coworker!” He yelled
“Oh, so I’m having an affair now? Wow, I better accept those invitations then, if I’m going to hold the cheating girlfriend of the year award” I spat
“Are you having an affair with him?”
“How can you even ask that? You know me better than that Jonathan!” Now I’m yelling too, peachy just peachy!
“Well you didn’t answered my question though. Are you?”
“Of course not! What makes you think that?”
“You don’t wanna have sex with me, so where are you getting some? ‘Cause we both know you have quite the appetite for sex, I mean fuck, is hard even for me to keep up with you! You’re like a fucking machine!” He says
My eyes widened in disbelief “So just because I declined to have sex with you 30 minutes ago, because I have to work, I am suddenly a cheater? Or is it because I like to have sex more than the average women do that makes me a cheater? Wow Jonathan, I’ve never heard you say that when one of your male friends cheated. That says a lot”
“Says a lot about what?”
“Your sexist side. Or I don’t know, maybe it’s something else, maybe you are the one who’s cheating on me! So you’re mirroring your infidelity on me”
“Me? A sexist? Now that’s a joke” He laughs “We both know the things you’ve already done to me in the bedroom and trust me pumpkin, if I was a sexist I would never had let you go down that road, if you know what I mean” He measured me up and down “And even if I wanted to cheat on you, which is not the case, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t physically be able to since you knock my ass down every single time we fuck”
“I don’t hear you complain! In fact if I remember correctly you were the one who got in here wanting to have sex in the first place” I huff annoyed
“And I still do kitten” He gets closer
“Don’t touch me, jerk”
“You know how much it turns me on when you get all mad like that, right?” He tried to grab my breasts but I slapped his hands away
“Stop, Jonathan”
“What?” He leans closer, pressing his hardening bulge against my lower belly “Am I not good enough for you anymore? Do you prefer your boy Pete instead?”
“Bullshit” I spat
“Then show me, kitten” He whispers “Show me I’m still good enough for you” He makes me grab a handful of his erection “Show me that you still want me, that I still turn you on”
I pulled him down towards me by his neck, kissing him roughly, biting his lower lip quite harshly
“Hmm” He growls “My kitten is feisty, I like that” He smirks “I love when you’re a bitch to me” He laughs devilishly “Whatcha gonna do, huh?”
I forcefully open the button of his jeans, pulling the fly down and yanking the pants along with his boxer briefs down.
Jon put his hands up, in a surrender position. I lick my palm and close my fist around his cock, pumping it up and down.
“Yes baby” He moaned “Take it! Take what’s yours”
I kneel down and without thinking twice, I swallow his length until it reaches the back of my throat
“Fuuuuck! Y/N, baby...so good, you suck my dick so fucking good kitten! I love it, I fucking love it!” He moans and I push him further down my throat, swallowing around him
“Oh my fuck” He bucks his hips forward in surprise “How can you be so good at this?” He whispers, holding my hair back, so he can watch me sucking him off
“You look so fucking gorgeous sucking my cock baby. Fuck, look at that! Look at how well you take everything in”
I look up at him, hearing him continuing to praise me
“I love when you look at me...so beautiful with your mouth full of cock, so greedy for more aren’t you, baby?”
I nod, lifting his member up so I can lick the bottom half of his shaft, making him moan loudly
“You’re so insanely good at giving head! A fucking pro” He panted “The best head I’ve ever gotten”
I lock my lips around the head, sucking it hard to make him feel the pressure I know he loves, while my hands pump his length with a tight grip
“Oh yes, baby” Jon screamed in pleasure “Oh my fucking- Stop, stop” He moans with his eyes hazy in ecstasy, mouth in an ‘O’ shape as he bites his knuckles to prevent any screaming.
“We both know you don’t want me to stop” I smile, licking from the bottom of the head to his slit
“You’re gonna pay for this” His voice shakily says
“I wouldn’t threaten me if I were you baby” I smirked “I have other tricks that I’ve never showed you before” I whisper, feeling his length throbbing on my hand
“Other tricks?” He faintly whispered
I let go of his member and lay down on the floor beckoning to him.
“Come here Jon, let me show it to you baby”
Please let me know your thoughts on this? Feedback is always appreciated 🥰😘

a promise well broken (minho x reader)
Tumblr media
✩ 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: if anyone was certain of one thing, it would be the fact that both you and minho were a two in one deal. never would somebody see one and not the other. since the beginning of your friendship, you promised each other that no matter what, you would never lie. pinky promises were forever right? that is until you meet hana, the one person that had the potential to tear you and minho apart.
✩ 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫 + 𝐚/𝐧: this is a request! bff to lovers! plot ahead. cussing as well so be warned. song rec: i hate u, i love u by olivia o’brien & gnash. thank you for requesting this, lovely!
the autumn of twenty-eighteen was the worst year of your life.
why? because that was the start of your first year being a freshman in college. nobody had warned you about the university life, and it always looked so easy. then came week two where you learned the hard way that the readings actually were important. or that you should never leave your laundry in the laundromat without supervision. again, these were things you had to learn as an adult and it sucked.
but, you’ll never forget the day you met him; lee minho.
you had accidentally spilled coffee all over his white shirt in that over-crowded starbucks down the street from your apartment. he had joked you owe him a new shirt, however he then laughed at his silly remark. hearing that laugh made your heart melt in a way you couldn’t describe. nonetheless, you offered to buy him his drink of choice, to which he denied. instead, he asked for your time and the rest was history.
you two were inseparable ever since. even when you needed to study, minho would drop by and annoy the hell out of you. it had become such a routine that you would be surprised if he didn’t accompany you to anything. in a way, you were dependent on him as he was to you. some would say this was unhealthy, but you admitted to yourself a long time ago that a life without lee minho was not a life wanted.
however, because life was never perfect, you couldn’t expect your relationship with him to be. because you were utterly in love with someone you never thought you could have. so much so that your heart swelled at just the idea of him and that damn smile. his tsundere personality attracted you the most because that only made the intimate moments more meaningful. like when he would hold your hand in public if you were anxious, or the way he complimented your work ethic. those small, simple gestures filled your stomach with butterflies. as much as you loved him showing you affection, it also broke your heart because it always stirred up false hope. and nothing hurt more than that.
you wished you could confront him on this. you hated hiding anything from minho. it was your number one rule between each other; no secrets, no lies. he always had a deep-rooted insecurity of being lied to, and you promised him that you would never do that no matter what. you’ll never forget the way he looked at you then; full of trust and happiness. each night when you lay awake in your bed, your chest clenches at the thought of telling him you’ve been surpressing these feelings. would he rejoice or be disappointed? it was a risk that you weren’t willing to take.
that promise meant everything to you. apparently minho thought otherwise.
it had been exactly one month since you met park hana. minho introduced the two of you after walking out of his calculus class. he had made a new friend, which didn’t surprise you because who wouldn’t want to be friends with him? however, at the sight of her, your stomach dropped. she had locks of honey brown, obviously artificial but beautiful nonetheless. her eyes always shone with a light you never thought you’d see. she was outgoing, intelligent, and funny. god, she was so funny that she made minho roll over in laughter at a study session that was supposed to be explicitly between you and him. you envied her. you wanted to love yourself the way she did, but everytime you looked in the mirror, you would only see flaws. what would minho see in you that he wouldn’t see in her?
you tried to be her friend, you really did. on multiple occasions, you invited hana to coffee or to the movies, and she always declined. if you brought it up to minho, he would only shrug it off that it wasn’t serious. this didn’t cease your uneasiness towards her, though. it could just be your jealousy speaking but you knew yourself better than that.
you were going to try again, though. if she meant something to minho, then she meant something to you as well.
you lay on your bed with a small smile, scrolling through your phone to find minho’s number. a simple face time would be fun as you didn’t feel like texting. you also really wanted to see his face. after finding his number, you tapped on it and felt excitement rising in your system. it was only a video call but this is what minho did to you. as the phone rang, you were met with disappointment as you noticed that he wasn’t going to pick up. that wasn’t like him as he typically picked up within the first three rings.
“what the heck? ugh,” you grunted to yourself, heading over to text message.
you were tempted to text him alone about your idea of hanging out, but you knew that if you were going to make an effort for hana, you would need to text the group chat. you began to text out your plans, sending it with a large grin.
you: heyyyyyyyyy bishes! i’m thinking of heading to the mall later today, and i’d love to hang with y’all. what do you say?? maybe we can get dinner as well. i finally don’t have homework lmaoo
soongiedoongiedori: aw can’t today :( hanging out with sungie
hana: same, i’m busy! maybe next week?
you: ok :’) </3
releasing a sigh, you felt your excitement deterioriate. you weren’t expecting them to turn you down so quickly, especially minho. you knew it was wrong to be upset at them for being busy but you couldn’t help how you were feeling. hana did suggest next week . . . that would have to do for now.
as you sighed once again, you heard your door swinging open. you snapped your head up, hoping it was minho pranking you, but you were only met with your roommate, yeri.
“whoa, calm down. i’m not gonna kill you,” she joked. “i was just checking to see if you’ve eaten today and if i should buy takeout.”
groaning, you shook her head and hung an arm over your head. this made it clear to yeri that you were upset, making her concerned. you two were close since the beginning of the school year. normally you were a cheerful person. if you were acting like this, then something was definitely up.
“what’s wrong?” she asked, sitting beside you on your bed.
you peeked out from behind your arm only to drop it and sigh for the third time. that’s all you could really do at this point.
“well, it’s going to sound dumb-”
“no it’s not. stop doubting yourself, now tell me what’s up.” yeri interrupted.
you rolled your eyes but smiled a small smile. “i texted minho and hana to see if they wanted to hang out today but both of them are busy. it just really sucks because i feel like every time i make an effort for hana, she doesn’t make an effort for me. i’ve tried telling lino this but he thinks i’m being dramatic. am i being dramatic?”
yeri hummed at your response, furrowing her eyebrows. you watched in silence as she pondered about the scenario in her mind. this put you on edge because she didn’t immediately reassure you it was nothing. she must’ve seen something fishy as well or else she wouldn’t be thinking about it. or you were assuming the worst.
“they’re both busy?” she checked.
you nodded, making her shrug. “i wouldn’t think much of it, (y/n). what’s the rule between you and him again? no secrets, no lies or something like that? i don’t think he would lie to you.”
that was true; nobody took that rule more seriously than minho. for a moment there, you felt guilt because you knew it was wrong to immediately doubt his intentions like that. hana as well. yeri inspected you for a moment as she took in your composure. surely her advice should’ve been enough to warrant ease, however, you were still stiff.
“i’ll go to the mall with you,” she offered. “i was thinking of stopping in sephora or something. i’ve been meaning to go for awhile but never had the excuse.”
you snapped your head her way and bit back a smile, trying not to be too enthusiastic. “really? you’re not just saying that, are you?”
yeri nudged you playfully before standing. “of course not. now get up and ready, or i’ll regret my decision.”
-
“did you really have to buy all three palettes? they look the exact same!”
yeri rolled her eyes as the both of you exited the store with you holding one bag, and her with two. you had only been there for twenty minutes and you already spent more than you would’ve liked. then again, you didn’t really care because you were looking forward to this for awhile. friends that enable each other stay together, right?
“well, that’s where you’re wrong. this one is peachy nudes, then there’s the golden nudes, and this one is neutral nudes. seriously, (y/n), don’t underestimate the power of nudes.”
the both of you let out a laugh, leaning into each other for support. yeri had made this experience way more fun than you thought it could be. not one thought of minho or hana had entered your mind. the mood was lifted tremendously as you strolled through the mall, window shopping at a few stores until you found the one you wanted to shop in. however, as you were going to enter a store, your stomach did a little growl.
“whoa, calm down tiger.” joked yeri as she patted your stomach.
“i guess i forgot to eat today . . . do you wanna stop by the food court before we continue shopping?” you suggested.
she nodded, realizing that she was hungry as well. “i think it’s this way.”
nearing the corner, you continued on towards the food court with excitement. mall food always had a different vibe to it and you were very much looking forward to devouring some lo mein noodles. as the food court came into view, your walk began to speed up. the excitement that was building up inside of you halted as yeri stopped in her tracks, causing you to run directly into her back.
“hey-” you started but yeri whipped around, shushing you. her hands grabbed onto your arms and dragged you to the side where you were no longer out in the open.
“what are you doing?” your voice was not loud however it still wasn’t at yeri’s liking as she shushed you again.
“(y/n), look over by mcdonald’s. isn’t that minho . . . and hana?”
your heart stopped as you heard those words, immediately looking where yeri had instructed you. there sat minho and hana, laughing obnoxiously while sharing a meal. you watched the way she fed him a fry, with him then returning the favor. your heart tugged at the sight because that was something you guys always do to each other. it would then follow with you offering him a bite of your mcflurry and then booping him on the nose with the spoon. the tension grew as you saw him reaching for the spoon of his mcflurry, raising it out towards hana.
“please, please, please. do not pat it on her nose,” you whispered to yourself.
tears welled up in your eyes as you watched the way she took a bite, then giggling as he gently patted her nose with the spoon. that was the icing on the cake and it’s all it took before you turned your body around, rushing to the exit.
yeri called out to you but you weren’t listening. the scene that played before rewound itself in your mind like a vhs tape. and you would pause at the way he looked at her, like she was so special. those glances were always reserved for you. was he tired of you? did he know how much he meant to you? he broke your one rule, the one thing that meant everything. your friendship was based on this and yet it was now abandoned. your breathing became labored as you tried calming down, staring at the ground with wide eyes and endless tears. never did you think minho would betray you. maybe it was naive to think like that.
“(y/n), wait up!” puffed out yeri as she met up with your figure at the exit. her chest heaved from the run she had to do to catch up.
neither of you spoke as yeri tried to find the words. “i’m sorry.” her voice was soft, almost afraid of breaking you any further.
-
nearly a week had passed since the incident at the mall. and you would be lying if you said you were alright.
every night you were reminded of what minho did to you as he sent you texts relentlessly. the spamming began after day one with him asking if you wanted to come over. when you didn’t respond, he continued to blow up your phone to see if you were okay. all the missed calls and texts drove you insane because you wanted so badly to reply. but you weren’t going to give in so easily. he hurt you in ways you couldn’t describe. it didn’t help that you were helplessly in love with him. seeing him give affection towards another female was inevitable, but you never thought it would hurt like this.
you weren’t surprised when you didn’t get any notifications from hana. you wanted to believe so badly that she was a good person but something felt off. you didn’t want it to be your jealousy speaking but you also didn’t want to be in denial either. this felt wrong because you and minho had never been so separated. but with each passing second, you felt yourself growing further part from him. you continued to drown in your depressed thoughts until a knock on your door interrupted.
“yes?”
“oh, you don’t sound so excited to see me.” joked a familiar voice as they stepped in, closing  the door behind them.
you grinned, immediately sitting up and opening your arms for your friend, han jisung. the boy wasn’t shy in returning the hug, laughing at your brightened expression.
“sungie! what are you doing here? you didn’t even think to call me?” your voice was nothing but playful, nudging his arm in the process.
jisung took a seat beside you on the bed and chuckled. as he made himself comfortable, he spoke up. “i felt like being spontaneous.”
the air was always light when it came to jisung. he was able to make everyone feel welcomed despite his social anxiety. the contradiction always made you love him more, as a friend of course. you admired him for a moment, feeling somewhat calmer. it was obvious to jisung that something was wrong, though. minho might’ve told him to check up on you because if you were ignoring him, then he knew you wouldn’t let him into your home. but jisung could also tell from your face that you weren’t okay.
“hey, what’s going on? you can tell me.”
his sudden change from bubbly to concerned shocked you, making you freeze in your spot. you hadn’t even noticed the smallest of tears that were forming in your eyes, finally being able to unleash any form of disappointment that you were holding in. jisung was not prepared to see you falter so quickly as he reached forward, holding your hands in his lap as he let you cry for a moment in silence. as soon as you were ready to catch your breath, you laid the truth on him.
“minho lied to me. and to make matters worse . . . he lied to me with hana.”
jisung was taken aback at those words because minho? lied to you? there’s no way. he snorted, shaking his head as he was in disbelief. however, as he studied your expression again, he noticed that you were still crying. the boy clenched his jaw as he was now visibly angry. he knew how much that rule meant to you and minho, as it meant something to jisung as well. he was there when minho got his heart broken, when he was the one who was lied to. and now minho had completely ignored that because of someone he barely knew. you didn’t deserve this, no one did.
“(y/n), i’m so sorry.” much like yeri, that’s all he could say.
because he knew how much this hurt you, and there was nothing that he could say that would change how you were coping. he wanted to ask what happened, but he also didn’t want to push you.
“why are you sorry? it’s him that should be sorry.” you replied bitterly as you wiped at your eyes.
you thought you looked pathetic, but jisung thought the opposite. he couldn’t even imagine what you were going through, and he always knew how close you two were. deep down he also knew how you felt about minho. this was more than just your best friend lying to you, no.
ring ring ring
the sound of your phone ringing made you snap out of it, immediately searching for it so that you could read the caller id. once you had it in your hands, your eyes widened in shock.
“it’s hana . . . should i answer it?” you whispered.
“sure, but i don’t know why you’re whispering.” you reached over and swatted his arm at his sass.
without thinking much of it, you swiped right and pressed the phone to your ear. jisung didn’t think that you would actually do it, considering you had neglected minho’s calls. although he did believe it would be easier to speak with hana as you weren’t as close with her. after holding in your breath for a long second or two, you released out a greeting.
“hello?”
“mhm, (y/n)-ah. i’m glad you picked up. i’ve been meaning to talk to you.”
something about the way she spoke didn’t sound genuine, and jisung could notice it from a mile away. you furrowed your eyebrows as he pointed at your phone, mouthing the words ‘speaker phone’ to you. you decided to risk it as jisung would be your witness for whatever would go down. you switched it to speaker.
“oh, hi hana. what did you want to speak with me about?” you said straightforwardly.
there was a chuckle on the other end that sent chills down your spine. “i’m not stupid, (y/n). i know you saw minho and me at the mall together. i don’t blame you for acting the way you are, i would probably do the same.”
both you and jisung looked at each with wide eyes. you didn’t expect her to be so blunt with her thoughts, however you were expecting something bitchy. biting on the inside of your cheek, you listened to her continue.
“i mean, you should be jealous. minho asked me on a date, and he told me he loves me. we are now dating, and we are very happy. he’s very happy. and now that we are together, i’m telling you to stay away from him.”
you could feel the fresh wave of tears pooling in your eyes as you heard her read out your worst nightmare. minho was in love with someone else, and to make matters worse, it was with hana. everything inside of you clenched painfully as you felt your heart sink to your stomach. this was way worse than having minho lie to you. you prayed to any god or deity that the situation couldn’t get any worse than it already was but they refused to listen to you. the universe was against your idea of sharing love with minho as it did everything in its way to tear you two apart. you should’ve kept count of the time you had left with him until he was taken.
but hearing her say that you needed to stay away from him wasn’t an option in your head. you can handle him lying, and being in love with someone else. it hurt, god it hurt so badly, but you could handle it if it meant he was happy. you would rather have minho happy instead of not having him at all. you were passionate in that belief, and you weren’t going to let hana tell you otherwise.
“no.”
“i wasn’t asking, (y/n).” her tone was more intimidating than before, yet you held your ground.
“i said no. i’m not budging on this, hana. i’m not letting him go.” you protested.
there was another pause in between the conversation, and you thought you had won for a second. but hana was always a step ahead of you, planning her attack head-on like she had rehearsed every possible outcome in her head.
“why are you still holding onto him? you’re just a burden, don’t you see that? he’s only pitying you. now that he has me, he doesn’t need to keep having you around. you should learn to take a hint.”
she spat her words at you, shooting her venom in your most sensitive spots. for a moment, you had entirely forgotten that jisung was still in the room. you tried not to let her words get to you, but they did. hearing that he was only pitying you sent you over the edge as you hung up the phone, throwing it at the floor angrily. your hands formed into fists as you closed your eyes, trying to catch your breath. but with each inhale, you felt as if you were suffocating. you wanted to wake up from this terror but you knew it was just a twisted reality. you didn’t even notice how your form was shaking from overwhelming emotions until jisung had reached over, pulling you closer into a side hug. he was just as speechless as you, if not more.
he shushed your cries, knowing it was the only thing you could do.
-
a few hours had passed at this point, and you didn’t even notice how you fell asleep with jisung. normally you two would split between the floor or the bed, but it was clear that you were exhausted. the afternoon had turned into nightfall, your open curtains inviting the moon. if you weren’t so out of it, you would’ve admired it’s beauty. you peered over as jisung was curled up beside you under the sheets, one arm wrapped loosely around your shoulders and the other over his face. he was such a good friend that you didn’t know how to thank him. he did not need to stay here by your side yet he did. he would never admit it, but he was incredibly selfless. as you tried adjusting your sight, you realized your eyes were puffy from crying, and it honestly hurt to try and focus in the dark.  you laid your body back down, snuggling deeper into your comforter before trying to head back to rest. without warning, your door swung up to reveal a worried minho.
“what the fuck is this?”
his voice boomed through the room, causing you and jisung to bolt upright out of bed. your attention turned to a frantic looking minho clutching his phone in his hands. there was a vein popping out on the side of his neck from how stressed out he was, and his hair was disheveled from constantly running his hands through it. anyone would be able to see how fucked up he was over this. not to mention minho was worried sick because you still were not answering your phone, and now jisung wasn’t. when he called yeri to check up on you, she revealed that jisung had slept over. minho was furious, but for what?
“why haven’t you been answering your phone? do you know how worried i’ve been about you, i thought you died!” he started, then pointing his finger at jisung. “and you, what the hell do you think you’re doing in (y/n)’s bed?”
jisung gulped in fear as he avoided eye contact, trying to find the words to reply. never had the older male raised his voice like that at anyone, much less jisung. minho could be scary when mad, but you weren’t going to let behave like this. you believed he didn’t have a right to be so upset. because you weren’t going to let him do this to you, act like he was the victim and that you hurt him. he hurt you first, didn’t he see that? or was he really that blind?
“first off, i don’t need your permission to have anyone stay the night so don’t talk to him like that. two, i don’t need to answer to you or anyone else but myself.”
minho chewed at the inside of his cheek, a death stare focused on you. “excuse me?”
“i said that i don’t need to answer to you. shouldn’t you be with your girlfriend anyway? it’s obvious you care more about her than you do about your friends. go, we don’t want you here.” you sneered at him, placing your hands on your hips firmly.
“what are you talking about, (y/n)? i don’t have a girlfriend. you’re not making any sense-”
“do not lie to me a second time!” you yelled.
both jisung and minho froze as they heard you raise your voice. minho knew what you could be like when you were furious like this, but he never thought you would be like that with him. it hurt a little as you stared at him like so sternly, so unwelcoming. for once in your friendship, he felt like he was trespassing. that shouldn’t be an issue between you two. minho tried to process his thoughts until he caught your words again, repeating it over and over in his head. guilt began to settle within him as he pursed his lips, thinking of saying something. however, nothing came out. all he could do was stare at the ground with shame digging itself into his skin. you deserved better than this. minho promised you so many things, and he had broken every single one. it was ironic, really, for someone who feared a broken heart.
“(y/n),” he started hesitantly. “it’s not what it seems. let me explain.”
you snorted while rolling your eyes. “really? because from what i remember, you promised me. you promised me you would never lie to me, or keep secrets from me. you lied to me!”
your throat became thick as you tried swallowing any sobs that were bound to come up. you had pent up all of your frustration that this was finally the time you let minho have a piece of your mind. you wanted to scream at him, fight him, and hurt him. but all you could do was unleash the pain you had been holding in.
“i never thought you would do this to me, minho. i never thought- i never thought you could just give up this friendship to someone who barely knows you! i always pictured you’d be with someone kind and full of love but she is a monster, don’t you see that minho? she is a bitch and-”
“wait, wait, wait. are you talking about hana? why are you saying these things about her? i know you’re upset with me, but don’t pull her into this.” he defended her, folding his arms across his chest.
your heart sank a little further as he didn’t immediately deny the fact that they were dating. instead, he defended her actions, and her role as his girlfriend. you were devastated; so it was true. you should’ve seen it coming, but you never thought it would be this soon.
“hyung, (y/n) is telling the truth.” jisung tried to interfere, nevertheless, minho glared daggers at him.
“i’m not speaking to you right now. quiet.” he demanded.
his voice was eerily calm, making jisung cower in fear. you were not going to do that, though. you were going to stick up for yourself and the hell that hana had unleashed onto you. there is no way that minho could be so dull to not see the true colors of this girl. or maybe you were far too used to overestimating him.
“why is it that when it’s her word versus mine, you automatically defend her? am i not your best friend? i feel like i mean nothing to you anymore.”
minho scoffed. “you’re being overdramatic. hana means a lot to me as well-”
“no, it’s obvious she means more to you. do you know what she did to me today, by the way? she told me to stay away from you, to never see you again or else. does that sound like someone you want in your life, lino?”
you waited to hear reassuring words from your best friend, but instead, all you heard was the love of your life pushing you out of the way. his nostrils flared slightly in anger as he clenched his jaw, and his instinctively formed fists. never had he thought to raise his voice at you, but that was pushed away when the words left his mouth without control.
“you listen to me, and you listen carefully, (y/n). i don’t want you to ever speak of her like that ever again,” he pause to take a deep breath.
“it’s really low of you to be this jealous that you have to tear down the people that matter to me. i thought you were better than that.” he clicked his tongue, giving you a stare of disappointment.
you couldn’t decide what hurt more, the fact that minho defended her or that he didn’t believe you. jisung wished to speak up and to let his friend know the truth, but he didn’t want to be scolded once more. the silence in the room was chilling, leaving goosebumps to arise on your arms. this had to be fake; this wasn’t the minho you knew and loved. tears had fallen past your eyes and onto your scorched cheeks. that sinking feeling returned to the pit of your stomach as it swallowed you whole. minho stared back with just as much intensity, knowing he hated seeing you cry especially when he was the cause. but he refused to back down from his word. instead he shook his head, turning around to walk out the door. you could hear the slam of the front door from your room, making you jump in fear. you were still unable to move from your spot as shock filled your system. did that really just happen?
you hadn’t even noticed the way jisung chased after his hyung. he pushed his short legs to run faster until he was now out of your apartment and near the parking lot. minho was walking rather fast with his stance intimidating but the younger boy didn’t care. he needed him to know the truth, and to know that you weren’t exaggerating.
minho felt a shove at the lower end of his back, causing him to trip a bit in front of him. when he whipped around to view who it was, a growl slipped his lips.
“yah, do you have a death wish?” jisung was not surprised to hear that.
“no, but do you? do you know what (y/n) has been going through ever since this hana girl entered your life? hm? do you? she’s telling the truth, i was here with her when that call took place.”
minho chuckled bitterly. “i can’t believe you’re on her side here. i thought you were my friend.”
jisung’s eyes softened, showing just how upset he was over this. minho was not prepared for what came next, however, as the dongsaeng questioned every motive he had.
“i am. and do you know what i value most in our friendship? no secrets, no lies. isn’t that the same promise you were supposed to keep with (y/n)? and here you are, breaking that promise. trying to validate what you did is inexcusable, man. why would she lie?”
the older of the two was at a loss of words as the guilt he faced earlier returned. it swirled around his body like an uninvited wind, reminding him how cold he felt in the situation. there was no reason for you to lie, so why was it that you would make something up like this? that’s the thing; you would never make this up. the realization was beginning to settle in him as minho came face to face with reality. he had hurt you, and made it out to be your fault. he took the side of someone he barely knew over you. over his best friend. over the love of his life.
“shit,” he muttered while throwing a hand to over his face.
this made jisung smile sadly, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “maybe you should fix this. just maybe.”
letting out a groan, minho cursed at himself. he had fucked up so badly. jisung was quick, though, to ask a question that was still clearly in his head. “are you really dating hana by the way?”
minho shook his head and scoffed. “no.”
minho glanced up from his solemn expression and nodded.normally he would come back with another scary remark but he didn’t have the energy to do it. he made his way back to your apartment with each step being heavier than the previous one. owning up to his mistakes wasn’t something he was used to. never had he hurt this badly before, so he was bound to face something completely new. taking all the courage he could, minho opened your door to see a vacant front room. yeri must’ve been somewhere else, which he wasn’t complaining about. no doubt she would’ve chewed his ass out. minho continued on until he was right outside your door. as his hand went to turn the golden knob, he heard a heartwrenching sound.
you held a hand over your mouth as you sobbed in your bed, your body curled up to offer any form of comfort it could. the words of your best friend replayed over and over until you could no longer bare it anymore. you were broken into pieces, scattering yourself so that they would be hard to find. but minho had the power to put you back together, despite how long it would take.
you felt a body weigh down beside you on the bed, immediately reaching its arms around you. as your eyes fluttered open, the sight of him was made aware, making you sob harder. minho shushed you, combing back your hair from your eyes as he held you in place. you didn’t fight him, you didn’t scream at him, no. you let him hold you so that he could mend your broken pieces back together. this was his damage he had caused, it only seemed right to take care of it.
“i’m sorry. i’m so sorry.”
you shook your head almost instantly. “you’re just saying that. don’t lie to me-”
“i’m not. hey, look at me,” he whispered.
your eyes met his again, making you shiver. it had been so long since you were this close to him. it felt familiar, like home. because that’s what he was to you. nothing could ever change that, even if he had crossed you.
“i will never lie to you again. you mean so much to me.”
unlike his tsundere personality, his voice was soft as it wavered in the air. those words alone made your heart begin to beat again with a sense of excitement you thought you lost. that excitement began to build as he grew closer, his face fearlessly nearing yours. his eyes never left yours, and you felt the overwhelming urge to close the gap between you. and so you did.
your lips molded against each other in a way you couldn’t describe. you were exploring new found territory, having experience something you never deemed possible. it was gentle, but powerful. his hands caressed your lower back as he held you closer to himself, chests up against each other. fireworks were an understatement. it felt like the universe was finally aligning again to ensure your happiness. it was a comforting hug that let you knew everything was going to be alright. it was minho showing you that you were more than hana would ever be.
as he drew back, he pressed his forehead against yours. he couldn’t help but to say the words he had been holding back on ever since the day you met.
“i love you, (y/n).”
your eyes bulged as you looked at him in disbelief. these were words you were wanting to hear for so long. but were they genuine? or to make you feel better? you grew defensive before letting your heart speak any truth.
“i don’t need you to patronize me, minho. if you’re just saying that . . . “
“i’m not. i sincerely love you, (y/n).”
“what about hana?” your insecurities were back at it again, and doubting anything that minho had said to you. you heard him chuckle as he responded coolly. “i was never with hana. i love you.”
a smile broke out on your lips. “no secrets, no lies?”
“no secrets, no lies.”
soooooo this is really shitty and im really sorry :/ I’ve been writing this for so many weeks and this is all i got out of it lmao <333 might make a part two with smut HA let me know if y’all want that thanks for the request @minholuvs

The way Douxie yelled Nari’s name and ran to her after she died and the remnants of her magic falling all around him, like she was saying goodbye, just *UGLY CRYING*
It was so cool to see Charlie out of his den and flying about like the mighty dragon he is
Loved the Guardians of Arcadia pulling Excaliber out together.
All the gang all going after Bellroc together
YES JIM MY BOOOOOOY
BLINKY DIDN’T DIE
Aarrgh I love you so much
Stuart, what a bro!
We saw a hint of mercy in Bellroc towards the end.
Toby’s death... That was a huge curveball. Jim might as well have cut my heart out with Excaliber as he sobbed over his best friend.
Uh.....um....and.....Er...what else........ .___.
..........Alright so.......It’s about to get a bit brutal from here on out as I talk about the things I didn’t like at all. And the really sad thing is, at least to me, the cons far outweigh the pros in this movie. Because I’m actually having difficulty picking out things I enjoyed, they were so few and far between...which really sucks.
So here we go.
Gosh, where to begin... I guess I’ll go ahead and say this : I’m really disappointed.
Like as I’m here typing this, I’m just thinking, “...That was it? That was the movie?? The big finale???”
So much of this movie just felt....unnecessary. I hate to say almost like filler. The entire intro re-caping the series really wasn’t needed. And then Toby went and restated it all again when he was being interrogated. The pacing, oh my gosh...Guys, the pacing in this movie was not good. The action started and it never seemed to stop. There wasn’t a single moment of rest, of levity, of our characters just being themselves, getting to know each other, being friends outside of the battle. No Reckless Club Segment. No fun, just... I mean Claire and Aja didn’t speak to each other at all. Douxie and Toby hardly interacted. Steve was turned into a gross male pregnancy joke. Jim and Krel barely spoke. Douxie and Aja had nothing to say to each other. Even Aja and Krel didn’t have any moments together. The list goes on. The whole movie was just go, go, go. And it’s so frustrating because there was time for it but it was poorly executed.
Like was the whole break-in to the Chinese Trollmarket really necessary?? Guys, I really found myself not caring. I didn’t care to see this random side quest involving an insignificant new troll character and a Trollmarket that had little to no bearing on the plot. Did I love seeing Charlie, Archie, Blinky, and Claire? Of course! But these scenes were so pointless. So needless. They could’ve written other ways for all our heroes to go after the chronosphere (Maybe we could’ve had Zoe for crying out loud). But instead this vital artifact was the hands of a character we don’t know and don’t care about in a place that turned out to have basically nothing to do with anything.
Deaths. The deaths in this movie. Because of the pacing in this movie, there wasn’t nearly enough time for the emotional impacts to sink in. Nomura? Gone and the only ones mourning her are Aaarrgh and Douxie, who barely knew her. Walter’s death was handled better since we got to see Jim and Barbara actually having a moment to mourn him. The weight of Nari’s death was singlehandedly carried by Douxie, but even that was over before it started. The immense gravity of Toby’s death, which really got to me, was also short-lived to make way for an ending that...I don’t know.
ALSO DOUXIE JUST??? BEING OKAY WITH HIS FAMILIAR, THE ONE WHO RAISED HIM AND WENT THROUGH SO MUCH WITH HIM FOR CENTURIES, LEAVING HIM FOREVER TO BE TRAPPED IN THAT DUMB TROLLMARKET WITH CHARLIE LIKE???
“I hope he’s happy.”
WHAT. THE. EVERLASTING. FRICK.
Douxie’s reaction objectively doesn’t make a shred of sense. Geez, it’s almost like Douxie was expecting Archie to up and leave him someday to be with Charlegmane. Just...what???
What also frustrates me so much is how this movie undid so much characterization and development that happened in Wizards. Or more like all that development didn’t even matter.
What was the point of Steve’s arc in Wizards if he was just going to be reduced to...this?
I was so excited to see Douxie really being a Master Wizard. To see him lead the Guardians of Arcadia alongside Jim. To see him in action as Successor to Merlin and Protector of this Realm.
But no.
Douxie, who had such an incredible arc in Wizards and a character who’s come to mean so much to me in my life, was nerfed and sidelined.
And then time restarts and I can’t help but wonder why any of this mattered at all. What the heck was the freaking point of the suffering, the loss, the pain, the growth, enduring and overcoming so much, the friendships and family spanning across three shows... All gone. Starting all over. Undoing everything, except what Jim went through. As much as I love Jim, I didn’t think he’d be the only character I’d be getting closure for at the grand finale of this entire franchise. But that’s what happened and I really hate it.
Just...all in all, this movie wasn’t satisfying. Not to me. It had its good moments. But not nearly enough. The comedy was misplaced and fell flat. The climax was sorely anticlimactic and didn’t hold a candle to Eternal Knight. The writing, the direction, characterization...For some reason it was all lost and confused and none of it felt right and so much didn’t make sense.
I’m not at all upset with the writers, though, because they still pulled through and did what they could. When the movie did something right, it was beautiful. The things I loved about it I truly adored. No, I’m not upset in the least bit with any of the creative team.
I’m upset with Netflix. I’m upset that Wizards was robbed of the seasons it should’ve had. I’m upset with big cooperations stifling creators. I’m upset that this’ll be it. This is the ending we got and nothing can be done about it.
Aaron did say there’s every possibility for the franchise to continue in some capacity, and I’m hoping for that someday. Because so much, too much, has been left unanswered. So much left to be explored that couldn’t. But until then....I guess this is it. This is what we get.
Now, I want to remind everyone that this is my own personal experience with the movie. These are all my opinions. If you enjoyed every second the movie, that’s wonderful! And who knows how my thoughts will change upon another viewing. But in the meantime, Rise of the Titans really missed the mark for me. I wanted found family badassery and fluff. But nope. Just fighting and heaviness and no payoff. It’s such a letdown...a real shame.
But yeah...Thanks to any and everyone who read to the end of this haha
I still love Tales of Arcadia. It’s a series that has blessed and inspired me so much as an artist, writer, and as a person in general. I do want to keep making ToA content for a while. Cause this movie isn’t the end. Not my ending, at least.
I’ll continue to hope for more Tales of Arcadia in the future (a Douxie spin-off series please Lord pleaaase). We shall see. Until then, fics and fanart fixing this mess galore haha
Until next time everyone! God bless!

Finding Yourself
Intro: Hello, lovelies!! I hope you guys are having a good day/night!!! Here’s another pride fic for y’all, so enjoy!! :)
Note: Y/N has been through a lot, but meeting Natasha really changed their life, how will she react when Y/N finds out something about themselves?
Word Count: 1333
hi! for pride month could you do something with coming out as non-binary with nat? like they're afraid natasha will find it weird or too confusing, but nat accepts them anyways? and like she reassures them and comforts them a lot?? thank you <3
Tumblr media
You had been through a lot growing up, you were orphaned when your parents were killed in a house fire… One that you had accidentally started with your powers, you having had no control of them, it scarring you so much that you now refused to use them, locking them away somewhere deep inside you, you didn’t want to see them and you sure as hell didn’t want to use them and since then you hadn’t seen the black wisps that had surrounded you that night, after that you were thrown into various foster homes, something always happening and you having to be sent somewhere else until you turned 18 and got your own place with the money you had saved with the job you had since you were 16, after working for the summer, you went to school and you were halfway through your first year when there was an attack on the city, you just had to pick New York for your school.
You had been hiding under a picnic table, that being the closest thing you could find when you met her, she came running with her guns drawn, her black pants hugging her just right and her brown jacket fluttering a bit as she ran “Are you okay?” She asked you, looking around to make sure everything was secure until she offered her hand to you “Fine… Thank you” you stuttered out, taking her hand and feeling a spark as soon as your hands touched “Just doing my job, let's get you somewhere safe” she said, leading you to the student union building where they were bringing everyone on campus to “Watch out!” You shouted when you saw one of the aliens charging at her, your powers flowing out of you as soon as you put your hand out, it was a panic response as you watched the alien struggle in the dark cloud you put it in before going limp, Natasha staring at you in shock before she shook her head and pulled you along with her
After that day, you and Natasha had been inseparable, she had tried to get you to come to the tower to learn your powers better, but you had refused, you didn’t want to learn them, that would mean acknowledging that it was all real, so instead it was now a common occurrence that she would show up at your campus after your classes to take you wherever you had or wanted to go, you not having a car just yet but everything you needed was in walking distance, there was a lot of talk after a week of her doing this, not only from the students around you but the media as well, wondering who you were and what had made you so special, you didn’t know the answer to that, but you were grateful for Natasha.
A few months later, you guys were in the borderline dating stage, you guys had shared some kisses and had spent a few date nights out on the town, though neither of you admitted that it was actually a date, but then a wave of depression hit you and you started drifting away from Natasha, usually staying late after class or just refusing to leave your apartment in general, every morning you woke up and stared at yourself in the mirror, you hated how you were feeling but you couldn’t pinpoint what exactly it was that was doing this to you.
Until a few weeks later when you met someone in your class, the two of you talked and they had told you that they were nonbinary, when you asked them to explain, you couldn’t help but relate to all that they had said, you smiled and thanked them before giving them your number to hang out later, heading out of the class and heading to your apartment to process all that you had just learn.
After a long night of research and a lot of thinking about everything, you had realised it was true, you were nonbinary, it just… Fit and made you feel better about yourself the more that you thought about it, smiling a true smile for the first time in weeks, then you felt your phone vibrate and looked at it, seeing that Natasha had sent you another worried text, making you realize that you would have to tell her… She was your best friend, the one you trusted the most… The love of your life, but how the hell were you going to tell her? What if she reacted badly with it? What if it made her despise you? All the bad thoughts consumed you until one positive thought popped into your head… What if she accepted you for who you are and loved the way you had finally come to accept yourself, to finally be happy in your body? That thought beat out all the negatives, but it didn’t make you any less nervous to tell her.
Meet me after class tomorrow? I’m fine now… I just needed some time to myself and my thoughts… I have something to tell you - You
I’ll be there in my usual spot  - Nat <3
The next day, you took a deep breath as you walked out of your last class for the day, walking towards the parking lot and seeing a familiar flash of red hair “Hey” she said, trying to keep her expression neutral but you could see the hint of worry and relief in her eyes “Hey…” You said, fidgeting with your bag strap on your shoulder “You wanted to tell me something?” She asked, fiddling with the sleeve of her jacket as she looked at you and you nodded as you bit your lip, feeling tears build up because you were scared to lose her, you loved her and it scared you “Can you promise not to leave me?” You asked, some tears slipping out and her right in front of you in an instant.
“Nothing could make me leave you, Y/N” she promised, cupping your face and wiping your tears with her thumbs, keeping your face angled away from the passing people so they wouldn’t see your tears “I’m nonbinary” you whispered, trying to look down at your feet but her hands kept you from doing so “What?” She asked, having barely heard you so she wasn’t sure if she had heard you correctly, watching as you took a shaky breath before you locked eyes with her “I’m nonbinary” you said with a little more confidence, watching as she studied your face before she broke out in a grin “I’m so proud of you” she said, pulling you into a hug and you melted into her embrace, relief flooding through you as you buried your face in her shoulder, inhaling her cinnamon and vanilla scent.
Natasha held you for a moment before she pulled back, smiling at you “What are your pronouns?” She asked, wanting to make sure she got everything right and you smiled “Y/P/P” you told her, her smiling before she pressed a chaste kiss to your lips “You are one of the strongest people I know” she said, looking at you and you gave her a watery smile, the tears returning with the words she told you “Stop it, you’re gonna make me cry more” you said, wiping your eyes and watching as she leaned over and kissed your cheek “Come on, lets go get some food as celebration” she said, opening the door for you.
By the end of the night, Natasha had told you she loved you, no matter how many times she had told you that love was for children, you returned it tenfold and the two of you spent the rest of the night showing each other how much you loved one another before ending the night cuddled up in her bed at the compound and watching movies as the two of you drifted off to sleep.

Yugioh S5 Ep 21: Joey Takes A Snack at that Cray Sauce
Hey guys! The 17 yo cat with kidney disease I was out of town watching lived to see another week (she was a very good girl). Which means now I can get back to the good stuff. This episode is brought to you by the colors red and orange, and I hope you like this color, and I hope you like this after effects they CGId onto this volcano.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways, they first have to do this familiar ledge fall, because, it’s Yugioh, and if there’s a bunch of lava, Tristan wants
in
that.
Tumblr media
And then Joey decides...hey you know what? I’m gonna jet. And...it’s not the first time he’s pulled a wild card and been unpredictable, I mean none of us can really forget that time he decided to get murdered by Mai instead of going in a straight line towards the end boss last season, but this time it was kind of funny how it was hastily composed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And off he goes, folks.
As he left, Tristan was like “Ya dummy!” and Tea was like “nono, we gotta encourage him--run Joey! You can do it! See? Now he’s gone.” and it’s like...Tea is either trying to kill Joey with her support or honestly thinks that’s good support and I can’t fully tell which she is.
(read more under the cut)
It’s at this point that Grandpa has the gall to say “Did any of you happen to catch the lore? I fell asleep during that part.” Just like my Dad when we watch any movie as a family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, maybe 100 ft away from them, Joey is in mortal peril but it’s Joey, so he’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it.
In fact, this episode seems like it would have been a better arc if it stretched out more episodes because the Joey neglect happens so quickly and out of nowhere that it’s...less organic than your average children’s show. Honestly it’s kind of funny how fast the fall of Joey Wheeler happens this episode. And I think it could have been a fun interesting time if it was handled better but youknow...it’s crammed into one single episode and you’ll se what happens.
Tumblr media
As Yugi ruminates a cool thing that would have been really interesting this season--like running into more rando’s from other periods of time than just Alexander--Tea looks across the lava highway and was like “found it.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back at the dragon situation, Joey starts opening his heart to this dragon and it’s like...did they originally intend for Seto Kaiba to be here? Because I guess Joey uses Red Eyes a lot, but I also skip a lot of the card games, so when I think “who likes the dragon card?” Joey is not the first one I think of.
That and like he got over his Atlantis dragon card like hella fast, right? Like totally already over that?
And also if you thought Joey would pull out his other dragon to try and communicate or get a hold of this dragon like...nah.
Back at the fort, these guys decided to ditch Joey to get to this sword at the top of a volcano to solve the riddle, and what follows is some weird ass canon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I’m pulling up my Google Doc with my deathcount on it, Tristan decides this is the time he won’t freakin die and turn into a robot monkey for 15 episodes.
Tumblr media
And he makes a huge ass green dragon. You’d think this MASSIVE dragon would do more in this episode, but nah. Although he pulls out Massive Dragon, it’s like kind of worthless, so he mostly puts it back in his pocket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then Tea pulls this elf chick out and it’s freakin hilarious because look at her giant elf.
Tumblr media
Like Tea is not a small person! Are Yugioh monsters all 12 ft tall???
Tumblr media
Yugi is also all ham about fusing with his dude now. It knocked him out a couple episodes ago, but Yugi is so keen on destroying his body that he’s back in clown town. And like...took his Grandpa for a ride, I guess, although I’m pretty sure Summoned Skull has wings.
Course, Summoned Skulls insides are his outsides...and I dunno if you’d want Summoned Skull to give you a big hug and carry you around. Summoned Skull just seems like he’s sticky.
And, once they make it to the top of the volcano where the plot sword lives, we first have to visit this plot twist of the century.
Tumblr media
YEAH.
OUT OF NOWHERE.
THIS EPISODE IS NOT LONG.
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaand now Joey is going to try and kill everyone here. I did not skip anything, PS, Joey dipped off-screen.
PS, everyone’s reaction to “I will kill you!” was a whole lot of rolling their eyes at first being like “Joey, stawp.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, now that Joey’s randomly possessed by this dragon, we get a peek into what Joey’s brain zone looks like. It’s a whole lot of nothing in between his ears.
Tumblr media
Consistent to S1 actually, when we had a bit of a Joey Brain Zone moment. It was a blank void there, too.
So apparently Joey decided, back when he was confessing his love to Red Eyes Black Dragon, that he would jump on it’s back to calm it down--and it just...fused with him. So...now he’s a dragon.
Sure, I guess. I mean...there’s really no limit on what a Duel monster can’t do, so I’ll allow it.
Tumblr media
The team tries to just say “ah screw it” and pull up this sword themselves (you can kind of see it in this shot) and the sword just slurps into the dirt even more out of spite. Seeing that there’s a bit of a time limit, Grandpa pulls this one out of his back pocket.
Tumblr media
Yo, Grandpa’s not even possessed. Hey, remember that time that Grandpa nearly died giving Arthur Hawkins the last of his water back in Egypt? Remember that?
Like uh, you can definitely tell this was made by a different team that may not have gotten that cue card. It may have been lost in the mail. Either way, kind of a hilarious heel turn on Grandpa’s personality here, although it does make logical sense to save most of the kids from sacrificing one kid. It’s just...that kid is Joey...so...that’s like his adopted Grandson, right?
So Yugi does something very on brand for Yugi and invades a brain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And like...obviously Yami and Yugi would say no to this. They would never do this. Not after all the dozens and dozens of times they have sacrificed the world and everything for their best friends.
Tumblr media
But...maybe just this one time we can kill Joey? As a treat?
So uh...Yami hella vaporizes Joey with his new powers. Luckily, Joey Wheeler has Shaggy Doo energy and just...he survives it for some reason. I don’t know why he isn’t dead, maybe because the dragon made him stronger? Eh, don’t do the math (on any part of this episode).
Tumblr media
So Joey gets up and is like “I know the answer to the riddle!” As the sword kinda melts into the volcano and Gramps is like “Well we’re dead, actually, so no one cares!”
And Joey’s like “Look!” and he hops onto the back of the Red Eyes Black dragon and reveals this random thing:
Tumblr media
Because it turns out, that the dragon was the real problem and not this volcano with a sword in it.
Which youknow...could have been cool if this episode wasn’t so many insane plot points so quickly. Kind of a lot of episode here. This episode could have been a whole season of a show.
Like how long was Joey Possessed by Marik in S2? Like 5 or 6 episodes? And you can see how much more successful it was at selling the story although it was a lot of the same themes and ideas. Pacing is important.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then Joey passes out from the suit juice.
Tumblr media
Which is when we get one more Alexander cameo, just kinda watching them leave and onto the next arc of their little journey.
Tumblr media
They sure did put a lot of eyeliner on Alexander the great, and, being real...he may have actually been wearing a hell ton of dope eyeliner when he was alive, so this could be historically accurate, for all we know. Those old marble statues used to be painted, after all. Maybe they had dope Yugioh eyeliner down to his cheekbones? One can wish.
And like if you ever get the time--seeing what those marble statues looked like with paint on it is so freakin goofy and fun, I love it. I love that for 600 years we thought those marble statues were supposed to be naked and white but it’s like, nah man--this guy’s just wearing a skin tight breast plate and when you paint it, it’s so garish it’s like a freakin clown outfit.
But anyway, that’s all for now! Hope y’all have a good weekend, and as always, here’s a link to read these in chrono order, if you just got here!

Wanda Maximoff x AvengerReader
Word 9, Location 11, situation 11, sentences 1,5,6 *
oof a lot of fun stuff being written tonight! sorry all these are taking so long, my mum is using my laptop 98% of the time and I have nothing else to write on. anyways ENJOY
Prompts: Movie, Carnival, a Little Too Drunk, “Babygirl, you know how I feel about that”, “Babe, no,” and “Babe, yes”
Wanda Maximoff x Reader, (18+ and I MEAN IT y’all-)
Just Like the Movies
‘It’s just like a movie!’ Wanda shouted, quickly turning between stalls at the carnival, eyes wide at the flashing lights and strange carnival folk surrounding you.
The smile she wore was one you would cherish forever, the delight in her voice the most pure thing you’d ever heard. You would spend every cent you had at one stall if it got her something she only just glanced at. So far, you’d gone through half the stalls, and she’d refused to let you stop.
Sokovia often had similar events, but they were usually a guise or ruse to sneak money from the customers, a hiding place for criminals and the most wanted of people. She and her brother had never attended, sometimes seeing them from far away and smelling the popcorn and cotton candy, wishing it wasn’t anything more than a childish dream. But now she could have it all, and anything else she wanted.
Wanda dragged you from stall to stall in excitement, wanting to see it all, but keep you from spending all your cash on trivial things. You assured her it was just one night, just for fun, and that the memories meant more than the things you attached them to. She finally agreed, letting you drag her to the talent booths.
Ring tosses, knock-em-overs, dunking games- everything lined the “Try Your Luck” alley at the centre of the carnival. Wanda hadn’t agreed to not use magic, not that you were complaining. It would even out how rigged the games were, many of the toys they offered as prizes covered in cobwebs after how long they’d been there.
‘Y/N, I want to try that one,’ Wanda said, gesturing to a row of clown heads that spun. Young children shovelled balls into their mouths, shrieking in delight as pings and alarms sounded.
‘Babygirl, you know how I feel about… that,’ you screwed up your face, gesturing to the clowns. She ignored you and dragged you over anyways, nothing was going to get in her way.
Arms full of your winnings, you and Wanda waddled over to the booth and you fumbled a note from your pocket, winking at the guy you handed it to. He handed Wanda a small bag with ping pong balls, and the game begun as each competitor readied their hands.
‘Three, two, one, go!’ he shouted.
Wanda hadn’t wanted to play any of the other ridiculous games you had insisted on, but this, she thought, was mindless fun. You cheered her on, the points racking higher, until all her balls were gone.
‘Highest point total goes to the little lady on the left! Congratulations, missy, you get our top prize.’
Wanda smiled at the little girl who won, crinkling up her nose with a cheeky grin as the man handed her a small toy. ‘Thank you!’
She hugged it tight, showing it off to you. ‘I didn’t even use my powers and I got one!’
‘You did amazing, Wanda,’ you answered, kissing her quick on the cheek, ‘he’s the cutest one out of all of them!’
Sheepishly, Wanda’s cheeks grew hot and she held it out to you. ‘I won him for you.’
Tucking the small red bear into your shirt, you grinned and kissed her again.
‘Hey, I have an idea.’
Having now explored the whole carnival, only one thing remained. ‘Babe, no,’ Wanda started, interrupted by your charming eyes and the hundreds of plushy ones from the giant netted bag you stole to carry them in.
‘Babe, yes,’ you replied, grabbing her hand and dragging her to the dodgem cars. ‘I’ll drive.’
Your at first dangerous idea quickly turned to one of fun, the screeching laughter from you and Wanda as you slammed into other cars being the highlight of your night, adding it to the list of all the other wonderful things about her. She let go a little, the usually reserved Wanda letting you distract her from all the harsh things she’d suffered, at least for one night.
The ride began to slow, and you leaned over to kiss her properly. She grabbed your cheeks and pulled you close, the squeak from the bear in your shirt making you both jump and start laughing.
‘Just like a movie,’ you grinned, taking her hand and guiding her out of the car.
No idea how you made it home, all of your prizes in tow, the taxi dropped the pair of you outside your apartment. Wanda’s hand wrapped around yours, you tugged her towards the front door.
‘You wanna come in?’
She nodded, lowering her arms around your neck. ‘I’d like that.’
You waved the taxi off, fumbling your key into the lock and pulling Wanda inside. Toys discarded, you crashed into the wall, a little drunk from the competitions you’d stumbled into, the cries of Wanda egging you on only hyping you up more. Maybe you were a little too drunk, but Wanda wasn’t far behind you.
Her lips were sweet, flecked with cotton candy, and the salt from the popcorn you’d shared only made her taste sweeter. You fell back onto the sofa, pulling Wanda on top of you and having her straddle your waist. She sat up, lips parting from yours only for a moment, eyes locked on yours as she removed her clothes, then moved to take off yours.
You sat up a little and pulled her lips down to kiss you, long and slow. Hands running down her sides, both now only in your underwear. ‘Are you okay with this?’ you mumbled, fingers twirling through her hair.
‘More than,’ she replied, leaning down to deepen the kiss.
Your hands moved down her back, one over her ass, circling it with your fingers. Her hips bucked into yours, one of her hands squeezing your boobs in response. Pulling her body closer, you sat up and brought her with you, kissing her chest. You grabbed her hips and moved her body so she sat over your thigh, her knee pressed against your core.
Wanda started to move, grinding against your leg, as your hips bucked against her thigh. She moaned into the air with her head tossed back, moving faster to get more friction, chasing a high.
She felt so good against you, riding your thigh like there was no tomorrow. Growing louder with each thrust of her hips, you could feel her getting more wet by the second. Your hand on her back moved to trace a line down her chest, fingers hooking on the edge of her underwear and gently pulling at the elastic.
Her breath caught in her throat, now hurried to have you touch her even more. Your other hand gripped her ass tight as your fingers dipped inside her panties, Wanda only slowing her pace enough so your hand could catch up. Your fingers were soaked by the time they reached her clit, circling it a few times and feeling Wanda become more desperate.
Your hand moved deeper beneath her, fingers curling up and gently slipping inside her. Her clit slid over your palm over and over, riding you harder as she grew close. ‘Holy shit-’
Silence fell over your apartment, her moans and delighted cries muted by your mouth over hers, taking the last of her breath away. With a final few thrusts, she sighed heavily and slowed, almost collapsing on your chest. The friction you’d gotten back from her wasn’t enough, but she could finish you later. This was about Wanda, and she’d had the night of her life.
‘Just like the movies, right?’
‘I’d like to know what kind of movies you watch, Y/N,’ she replied, breathing heavily as you let her take a breather on your chest.

Frosted Windowpanes: Part One
The Christmas Fic is here! Featuring Logan the lumberjack, Leo who owns a diner, and Finn who was just trying to have a quiet, uneventful holiday (lol). This was supposed to be a oneshot, but y’all know I’m too long-winded for that, so it looks like we’ll be having at least one more part for this story!
@donttouchmycarrots Thank you so much for proofreading/encouraging/being such a wonderful, wonderful friend. I don’t think I’d still be writing without you and iloveyouiloveyouiloveyou
@lumosinlove Again, thank you for such wonderful characters! And for creating such a wonderful, welcoming fandom! I never thought I’d post my writing where people could read it, but then I met y’all and here we are! You guys are amazing! Happy Holidays, everyone! <3
Part Two is now up!
.
It's that time of year When the world falls in love Every song you hear seems to say
- The Christmas Waltz
.
Piercing, bitter cold greeted Logan as he stepped outside for the first time that day. The kind of cold that made the entire body tense up and the breath hitch. It was a quiet early morning, with a stillness that only freshly-fallen snow could bring. Logan took a second to pull his toque further down over his head as he grabbed the chainsaw by the door before heading out to the truck, passing the sign with red, clean lettering that read Tremblay’s Christmas Trees.
“Took you long enough, sleeping beauty.” His sister, Noelle, teased from the driver’s seat of the beat-up truck that barely started most mornings.
“It’s too early for this.” He grumbled back, sliding into the passenger’s seat as the truck reluctantly spluttered to a start.
“The faster we get done out here, the faster we can go deal with customers.”
“That’s not exactly helping.”
Noelle laughed as she drove back into one of the fields, parking the truck at the far end. “Come on, it’s not that bad. They ask to buy a tree, you help them pick one out, take their money, and strap it to their car. Easy.”
They got out of the truck, grabbed the chainsaw from the back, and headed towards their first tagged tree. Logan grabbed the tree around its trunk to stabilize it while Noelle powered up the chainsaw, putting their conversation on hold. She crouched down to start cutting the base of the tree trunk, creating a notch before starting the back cut. Logan waited until the tree felt unstable before giving the tree a gentle push in the right direction and removing his hands. The tree hit the ground with a thud.
Noelle took that as her cue to continue their conversation. “Don’t pretend to be all grumpy and stoic. I know you like some of our regulars.”
“Some being the key word here.” He replied, grabbing the tree trunk again and beginning to drag it to the truck. Noelle just gave him a look that clearly said I see right through you but didn’t comment as she looked for the next tagged tree.
Logan heaved the Christmas tree into the bed of the truck and shoved it into one corner; he could probably fit one more tree alongside it before he started stacking them. He stood up straight, turning his head to watch the sun rise and peek over the tops of the trees, bringing rays of light and warmth with it.
Leo basked in the warmth coming from the oven as he took out a fresh batch of croissants, a welcome reprieve from the weather outside. He quickly put the next tray of pastries into the oven and transferred the baked croissants onto a plate, where he let them cool just a little before drizzling them with honey. He hummed along to the Christmas music playing on the radio as he worked on getting the diner ready to open in a few hours. He started the gumbo, red beans and rice, and jambalaya, letting them simmer on the stove before whipping up his fried chicken batter and breading so that it was ready whenever he needed it. Next was the cornbread, which was made from scratch and poured into muffin tins to create the perfect individual servings. Coffee was brewed, quiches were placed in the display window, waffle batter was whipped up and sitting in a bowl on the counter.
Leo was arranging croissants into a basket when the back door opened, letting all the cold air in and a small flurry of snow with it.
“Good morning!” Nate called as he came around the corner, shedding his coat and hat. Leo honestly wasn’t sure what he’d do without Nate. Running his own diner was hard – it was even harder when he’d moved to a different country, not knowing anyone there, and kept afloat with barely anything but his optimism and his confidence in his cooking. Nate was the first person he’d hired when business actually picked up, and he’d been there ever since. He had a real knack for cooking and managed to make every person that walked through their doors feel welcomed.
“Headed out to the farm?” Nate asked when he saw the basket of croissants and the large thermos Leo was filling with coffee.
“Yeah.” Leo said, grabbing coffee creamer and sugar and shoving them into his coat pocket after he slipped it on. “You don’t mind, do you?”
“Nah, I can hold down the fort while you’re gone.”
Leo smiled as he grabbed his hat. “Thanks. There’s croissants in the oven, but they’ll be done as soon as that timer goes off! I’ll be right back, ok?”
Nate gave him a look. “No you won’t.”
“No, I won’t.” Leo agreed with a laugh. “But I’ll be back before morning rush.” He said as he braced himself and opened the door to be greeted by the frigid Canadian winter.
Even after a year and a half, he had a feeling he’d never get used to this weather.
He made a beeline for his car, quickly getting behind the wheel and cranking the heat as high as it would go. He put the car in drive and slowly pulled out onto the road, keeping a firm grip on the wheel and his eyes on the road. He knew he was probably causing a traffic build-up behind him, which made Leo feel a little guilty. He’d driven through hurricanes countless times, but snow? Black ice? He was absolutely terrified of that. So he took his time, eventually turning off the main road and driving until he reached a sign with red lettering and a Christmas tree lot. There were handmade wreaths and garlands, and white Christmas lights strung up over the rows of trees for sale.
Leo put the car in park and grabbed his stuff, breath hitching as he faced the cold winds again. Marius, the head of the Tremblay family, was at the checkout counter, writing something down on a pad of paper. Once he looked up and saw Leo, he smiled broadly. “Hey, Nut!”
“Good morning.” Leo replied, raising the basket and thermos in his hands. “I come bearing gifts. Coffee and croissants.”
“You know you don’t have to do that.” Marius said as he gave Leo a stern look. “I’m sure you’ve got other things to do.”
Leo shrugged, opening the basket and offering them to the man. “I like doing this. Y’all work hard and have ridiculously long hours. And you work in this weather. I feel like you could use a little warmth.”
“You and your southern manners.” He grabbed a croissant anyways, taking a big bite. “Your favorite’s still out there bringing some trees in.” He said, motioning to one of the groves to the left. Leo could faintly hear the sound of a chainsaw in the distance.
“I don’t have favorites,” Leo protested as he set the thermos and croissants down on the table, even though it was clearly a bald-faced lie. He thought of evergreen eyes and a gorgeous laugh and a smile that left him breathless. He blamed the redness of his cheeks and ears on the cold. “I like all of you equally.”
“Right.” Marius said, dragging out the vowel. He was smiling, though. “He’s lucky to have a friend like you, you know.”
Leo had to force his smile to remain steadfast. Friend. That was all this was ever going to be, no matter how much his heart yearned for something more. He needed to learn to be content with that – it wasn’t fair to Logan otherwise, or to himself for that matter. He could be a good friend and leave it at that. It was still better than not knowing him at all.
“I think I’m the lucky one.” He said, only then remembering the sugar and coffee creamers in his coat pocket. He fished them out and set them on the counter next to the thermos. “I do have to get going, though. I’ve got the breakfast rush to deal with.”
Marius waved him off playfully, grabbing another croissant. “Go on, then. I’ll try to save some for the rest of them.”
Leo laughed at his antics, breath clouding in the air. “I’m holding you to that.”
Marius watched him get in his car and drive off very slowly with a chuckle. Damn southerners. He looked down at the coffee creamers and sugar, knowing Logan was the only one in the family that used them, and started speculating.
He heard the rumbling of the truck as it came in, the back loaded to the brim with trees. Noelle and Logan’s bickering could be heard before the truck’s engine got turned off, which was saying something. Marius grabbed a cup and filled it with coffee. He was going to need it.
“I mean, come on. Back to the Future is clearly the superior 80s movie. It’s definitely better than Top Gun.”
Logan closed his door, staring at his sister with a combination of horror and disbelief. “How dare you. Those aren’t even in the same genre!”
Noelle looked over at Marius right as she was about to start her counterargument and spotted the pastries and coffee. She grinned and abandoned Logan at the back of the truck in order to beat him to the food. One croissant was immediately shoved into her mouth as she grabbed another and then reached for a coffee cup one-handed. Marius snorted and grabbed it from her, filling it with steaming coffee.
She groaned. “Lolo, your friend needs to stop by more often. Fuck, this is good. If I wasn’t in a committed relationship already, I’d ask him to marry me.”
“Please don’t call me that.” Logan said gruffly, but his words were betrayed by a smile. He looked down at the pastries, eyes soft and smile dopy.
Marius knew that look. More importantly, he knew his son. And everything fit together like pieces of a puzzle.
“Maybe Logan should ask, instead.” He teased, although a part of him was completely genuine.
Logan choked on his first bite of croissant.
.
“Finn!” June shouted as soon as she flung the door open, throwing herself into his arms. Finn laughed and hugged her back. Two seconds into his visit and he knew this was going to be the best way to spend the week before Christmas. He hadn’t seen June since they graduated college and, even though they kept in touch, it wasn’t the same.
“Four years is way too long.” He said as she let go. “Let’s not go that long without seeing each other again, ok?”
“Deal.” She replied, grabbing his bag for him and leading the way inside. The apartment was warm and cozy and lived in – there were books on the coffee table and a large pile of mail on the counter and a few stray dishes in the sink.
Finn loved it.
Heather, June’s fiancée, smiled in greeting and stuck her hand out to shake. “You must be Finn.”
He had originally thought it might be a little bit awkward, meeting his ex-girlfriend’s fiancée, but Heather seemed kind and welcoming and unperturbed about the whole thing. He shook her hand and returned the smile. “Heather. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
“Oh god.” She laughed, shooting June a look. June just winked and leaned over to check whatever food was in the oven.
“All good things.” Finn promised, letting Heather lead him to the guest room. It was as happy and welcoming as the rest of the apartment. As soon as they were out of earshot, he continued, “I’m really happy for you guys. She’s happier than I've ever seen her.”
“So am I.” Heather said wistfully as Finn set his bag down. “Bathroom’s through that door if you need it.”
“Thanks.”
When he rejoined the group in the living room, he noticed something: a distinct lack of Christmas decorations. June used to love decorating her college dorm room for the holidays – she went all out with little things she bought at the Dollar Tree and a miniature Christmas tree from Walmart. They used to get the tree together every year. It was strange that she hadn’t continued the tradition.
“No tree?” He asked June, surprised. She shrugged and scooted over on the couch to make room for all three of them.
“Haven’t had the time. I’ve been so busy at work and Heather’s been traveling for conferences. It’s not the same when you have to decorate by yourself.”
Finn hummed understandingly. He knew the feeling. “Why don’t we go get one now? Do you think some places are still open this late?”
Heather and June looked at each other, seeming to have a telepathic conversation. Finn watched on in amusement as they communicated with raised eyebrows and narrowed eyes and shrugs until they apparently made up their minds.
“Tremblay’s is probably still open. They’ve got the best trees, anyways.” June explained, turning to look at Finn. “But I’ve got to stay here and make sure our dinner doesn’t burn.”
“And I’ve got to stay here and supervise June while she uses the oven.” Heather added. Finn laughed, remembering too many times June had burned herself while using the rickety old oven from the 1970s that still lived on in their dorm building.
“Yeah, that sounds about right.” Finn teased and ruffled June’s hair. She just rolled her eyes and didn’t even bother trying to smooth it out again. Ruffling hair was one of Finn’s main ways of showing affection – she knew it would just get messed up again. Finn fished his phone out of his pocket and pulled up his navigation app. “I can go get the tree, if you want. You said the place was called Tremblay’s?”
“Finn, you really don’t have to-”
“No, I want to!” He cut in, standing up from the couch to grab his coat. “I didn’t bring presents for you guys because I’m so bad at gift-giving, so this can be my Christmas present.”
Heather hesitated. “Are you sure you don’t mind?” She asked, glancing at June again. “We can always go out and get a tree tomorrow.”
“It’s fine. I’ll be back soon, and with a tree!” Finn said as he reached the door, turned to give a cheery salute, and headed out to his car.
After a frankly terrifying drive through narrow back roads and potential ice hazards, Finn followed his app to a little tree farm off of the main road. There weren’t many cars there, thankfully, and it still looked open. The rows of white lights hanging above the trees were all lit and glowing, snow was falling at a slow, sleepy pace. It looked perfect, like something out of a dream.
And that was before Finn saw him.
The man working the front counter.
Finn raked his gaze over the man and swooned. Wavy brown hair, bright eyes, shoulders and arms so broad and built that it seemed like they were about to rip the plaid shirt he was wearing. With a nametag that stated Logan, he seemed like a rugged, Canadian, lumberjack dreamboat. Finn swallowed, making his way to the counter and the absolute vision behind it while he focused on not tripping over his own two feet.
“Hi,” Finn managed, trying not to get lost in evergreen eyes. “I’d like to buy a tree, please.”
“What type of tree would you like?”
Oh, the accent.
Finn was screwed.
“Uh…” Finn trailed off, looking at Logan and struggling to find words. “A Christmas tree?”
“Spruce, pine, or fir?” When Finn’s expression turned more confused, Logan smiled in exasperated, awed delight. Who drove all this way for a tree and had no clue what they were looking for? Most people at least had some idea. But not this one, apparently. Those big, Bambi eyes were lost and absolutely adorable.
“Do you have a size you’re looking for?” Logan asked, receiving a more perplexed look.
This was too funny. “Do you know anything about what kind of tree you want?”
“A pretty one? But not too expensive. Or too tall. Or heavy – I’ve got to get it up a huge flight of stairs.”
Logan couldn’t hold back the laughter any longer. He leaned forwards against the counter and laughed, eyes squeezing shut and shoulders shaking. Finn watched with a smile of his own, taking in the way his eyes crinkled at the corners and the contagious nature of his laugh. He felt like this – this right here – was the only thing he wanted to do for the next several hours, especially if he was the reason for the laughter. He thought of that song he could never remember the name of but heard a lot on Tiktok that said, “oh no, I think I’m catching feelings” and never related to a song more in his entire life.
“Ok,” Logan said when he’d finally caught his breath. “Ok, I’m going to pick one out for you, how’s that sound…?”
“Finn.” The redhead supplied with a laugh of his own. “And please. I have no clue what I’m doing.”
“Clearly.” Logan stepped around the counter and led him towards a group of trees. “These are Douglas Firs. They last a long time, smell great, and they don’t take a lot of trimming or maintenance. They’re also pretty cheap since they’re so common.”
Finn looked from the trees to another group of trees a little ways off. “They all look the same.”
“Who’s the expert here?” Logan teased, shooting him a look over his shoulder as he walked from one tree to the next. Finn trailed after him eagerly, watching calloused, muscular hands trail along the needles of the trees.
“We can go look at the Fraser Firs, if you want, but I really think one of these is your best bet.” Logan continued, stopping in front of a mid-sized tree. “How about this one?”
Finn looked at it, then back at Logan. “What do you think? Since I clearly don’t know anything about trees.” That drew another smile from Logan, which made Finn vow to himself to make the brunet smile like that again.
Logan dragged the tree out from the rest of the group and looked it over. “I think it’s a good one. Good shape, healthy. I sure know how to pick ‘em, eh?”
Eh. How adorably Canadian.
“Sounds good. It’s not even for me, so my input doesn’t really matter a whole lot.”
Logan sent him a confused look. “So you went out at nine o’clock at night to get a Christmas tree, and it’s not for you?”
“I don’t even live in this country.”
“What?”
“I’m visiting friends that live here, and they’ve been traveling or too busy to decorate like they normally do, so I decided I’d get the ball rolling and find them a Christmas tree.” Finn shrugged, shoving his hands into his pockets.
Not only was he stunning, he was thoughtful to boot.
Logan clearly had a type.
“That’s nice of you.” He removed the tree from its stand and started lugging it to the counter, watching the redhead trail behind him yet again out of the corner of his eye. When he reached his destination, he set the tree down and found Finn staring at him with a look of awe on his face. He bit back a smile. “How long are you staying?”
Finn was silent for a second, as if in a trance, then snapped out of it with a little shake of his head. “Huh?”
That smile he was holding back broke through. “How long are you staying in town?”
“Oh. Just for the week, then I’m off to spend Christmas with my family back home in New York.”
“A New Yorker, huh?” Logan asked as he bagged the tree up, attempting to do the accent and making Finn laugh. “This must be quite the change of pace for you.”
“You have no idea.”
Finn’s stomach growled, making his eyes widen and his cheeks burn in embarrassment. It must’ve been loud enough for Logan to hear because he turned back around to face Finn and quirked an eyebrow. “Hungry?” He asked, then told Finn the price of the tree. Finn handed his card over.
“Yeah. Haven’t had dinner yet.”
“I, uh, I know a place.” Logan said, playing with Finn’s credit card before meeting his eyes and quickly adding, “If you’re interested. I haven’t had dinner either.”
Finn grinned, not even trying to hide his excitement. The only thing he’d wanted when he left June and Heather’s apartment was a tree. Now he had a potential date with this gorgeous, witty guy? Yes please. “Yeah?”
Logan shared his smile, leaning forward against the counter and looking up at him through dark, dark eyelashes. Finn’s heart fluttered. “Yeah. Sounds fun to me.”
“Great.” Finn said, unsure of what else to say and suddenly feeling a little awkward. Was he supposed to wait for him to finish his shift? Were they driving together? Where was this restaurant?
He needed to text June.
Shit. She had been making dinner when he left. But he’d already agreed to dinner with Logan. But it would be so rude to not spend time with his hosts. But he would regret it for the rest of his life if he didn’t go on this date.
He pulled out his phone as Logan ran his card through the system to text June.
To June: Sooooo there might be a change of plans. Some hot guy is my acting tour guide for the night and I won’t be making it home for dinner. But I promise I have a tree and I will be back eventually.
It only took June a few seconds to respond.
From June: Damn. You go, Finn.
He laughed under his breath, then pocketed his phone. When he looked up, Logan was looking at him and holding his card out. Finn grabbed it and shoved it into his wallet, which he pocketed. “Ready to go?” Logan asked, grabbing the trunk of the tree and preparing to drag it again. “I can drive, if you want. We’ll strap the tree to the top of your car and then head out.”
“Works for me. Do you need help with that?” Finn motioned to the tree. Not that he minded the view – quite the contrary – but he felt bad not doing anything.
“Want to grab the netting towards the top? We can carry it instead of dragging it.”
Finn grabbed the netting and followed Logan’s lead as they both lifted the tree and started carrying it out to Finn’s car, Finn giving directions as they went. Getting the tree to the top of the rental car was a struggle, but they managed and strapped it down.
They hurried to Logan’s car and shut out the cold as quickly as they could. Logan started the rickety old pickup truck that smelled strongly of Christmas trees and took off down the road at a much faster pace than Finn would ever dare to drive these roads.
“I have a feeling you’re going to love this place.” Logan said as he turned right onto the main road, accelerating a bit more. “Pretty much everyone does. It’s not very Canadian, but you can’t beat the food.”
“What defines a restaurant as Canadian?” Finn mused, looking over at the driver. “Maple syrup? Poutine?”
“Watch it.” There was no heat in Logan’s voice, so Finn didn’t take it to heart. They slowed down and pulled into a parking lot of a diner simply called Leo’s. The outside looked a little rundown, which made Finn a little apprehensive, but the windows were all fogged up from the temperature difference between inside and outside, which was always promising.
Logan turned the car off and shot Finn an excited grin. “Ready?”
Finn couldn’t tell if he was excited for dinner with him or just the food. Hopefully it was both.
The inside of the diner was… eclectic. The walls were a faint yellow, but there were splashes of deep purple, green, and gold in the decorations on the walls. Mardis Gras, Finn realized as he spotted some masks hanging on the wall. The food smelled amazing – warm and spicy and savory. Behind the baked goods on display counter stood a young kid with a cleaning spray and a rag, wiping down the counters. He looked up at the bell that signaled the door opening and instantly recognized Logan. He sent them a smile before turning his head and shouting towards the direction of the kitchen, “Leo!”
There was a loud clang, followed by a muffled curse. “Be there in a jiffy!”
Finn looked to Logan in confusion. “Was that a southern accent? Like American south?”
“Leo.” Was all Logan said, a happy smile on his face.
“You guys can go ahead and sit down,” The kid at the counter said. “I’ll bring some menus.”
“Thanks, Nate.” Logan led the way towards a booth in the front corner of the dining area and sat down facing the door. Finn sat opposite him, accepting a menu with thanks. The menu consisted of southern U.S. staples – biscuits and gravy, grits, red beans and rice, fried chicken, etouffee, jambalaya, po’boys, fried catfish, cornbread, the list went on.
“So is this guy from Louisiana?”
Logan wasn’t even looking at the menu, he was watching every nuance of Finn’s expressions as he took everything in. “New Orleans, born and raised.”
“How the hell did he end up here?”
“He had an uncle who owned this place and left it to Leo when he died. Originally he was just going to fix it up and sell it before going back home, but two months led to a year and he’s still here. Doesn’t seem to be planning on going anywhere else for a while, either.” Logan suddenly perked up, looking at something over Finn’s shoulder. “Here he comes.”
Finn swiveled in his seat and stopped dead in his tracks.
Tall.
They were both greeted by a dimpled smile as Leo approached their table, flour or powdered sugar – Finn wasn’t sure which one – all over his apron and a dusting of it in his fluffy blond hair.
“Hey, Logan. See you’ve brought company!” His accent dragged sweet and slow like molasses, so very out of place this far north. But it was refreshing, like a breath of fresh air or the sun coming out from behind the clouds after a week of rain. As he got closer, Finn realized what he’d thought to be flour in his hair was actually a gray streak. And wow, were his eyes blue.
How was everyone here so attractive?
“Finn, meet Leo. Leo, this is Finn.” Logan said, smile never leaving his face as he looked between the two. “He’s new here.”
Leo arched an eyebrow. “And you brought him here?”
“You do have the best pie in town.”
That got another sunny smile from Leo. “Damn right I do. But dinner first. Can’t go on spoilin’ your dinner with pie.” Those blue eyes turned to Finn, causing his breath to hitch just a little. “What’ll you have, sugar?”
Finn simply wasn’t going to survive this night. Was this a dream? That would explain all the attractive guys – the probabilities of something like this happening in real life were slim to none. He pinched his arm harshly. Not a dream.
What the fuck?
Finn realized he still hadn’t answered and was just staring at the blond. He cleared his throat and quickly averted his gaze to the menu, not really reading anything but grateful for something else to look at besides the two guys in front of him. “Um… what would you recommend?” He finally asked, grateful that he could get his vocal cords to actually work.
Leo hummed, thinking about it. “Personally I really like the muffuletta, if you’re looking for a sandwich. Definitely the gumbo if you’re in the mood for soup. I do make a mean fried catfish, too.”
Finn wasn’t sure what exactly a muffuletta was, but he ordered it. Logan got his usual, whatever that meant. Leo wrote down their orders and gave them one last smile before retreating to the kitchen. They both watched him go, then Finn whipped back around to face Logan.
“Is he real?”
Logan just laughed, leaning back in his seat. Finn panicked for half a second, terrified that what he’d said was the worst possible thought to voice on what was potentially a first date. But Logan didn’t seem to mind. He just looked back at the kitchen with a soft smile Finn hadn’t seen before.
“You know, I ask myself that a lot.” He said quietly, as if he hadn’t meant to say it out loud. And Finn finally understood.
He was in love with Leo.
The sound of a record scratching filled Finn’s head.
Wait.
That didn’t make any sense… because Finn was ninety-five percent sure that Logan had been flirting with him all night.
Hadn’t he?
They made small talk while they waited for their food, and Logan was pleasantly surprised at how… easy it was. He normally didn’t like small talk and didn’t share personal stories with strangers, but here Finn was, pulling stories out of him that he normally wouldn’t share on a first date.
Was this a date? Logan couldn’t decide if he wanted it to be one or not. One hand, this was definitely the most fun he’d had in weeks. On the other hand, Leo. He sent a glance towards the kitchen window before focusing back on Finn’s story about one of the parties he and June went to back in college. There was lots of alcohol, mattresses, and a roof involved. Finn’s storytelling included a myriad of different expressions, all of which Logan found endearing. The wrinkle of his nose when he talked about drunk frat boy antics, the way he got all soft whenever he talked about June, the laughter lines around his eyes when he told a funny anecdote.
How was it possible to be so cute and yet so hot at the same time?
And how had he met two guys who fit into both of those categories?
Nate brought their food out while Logan was in the middle of a story about the time he’d found a squirrel in one of their trees and got attacked when he tried to relocate the thing when Nate came back with the food. Finn had the muffuletta, which was apparently meat and cheese and some sort of olive spread or something – Finn had no idea, but it looked and smelled amazing. Logan had a bowl of red beans and rice in front of him, but he was waiting to see Finn’s reaction to the food before starting his own.
Finn took a bite of the sandwich, then his eyes widened almost comically. “Oh my god.”
“I know.” Logan said, getting a spoonful of red beans and rice.
“Where has this been all my life?”
“Just wait until you try the pie.”
Finn didn’t speak again, he just ate. The food clearly took precedence over any possible conversations. Logan couldn’t help but agree. Finn ate like a man who hadn’t seen food in a week, finishing the sandwich in record time. He leaned back in his seat when he was done, letting out a happy, content sigh. “Holy shit. Is everything on the menu that good?”
“Pretty much.”
“And he hasn’t been on the Food Network yet?”
Logan grinned. “Not that I’m aware of.”
“We should tell them to get up here and try this food.”
“Y’all, I don’t have time for the Food Network.” Finn jumped a little as Leo reappeared with two slices of pie. “I appreciate it, though. You liked it, huh?”
Finn looked up at him. “I kind of want to come back every day I’m here.” And he meant it. He wouldn’t be coming back just for the food, though.
“Well, I definitely won’t stop you.” Leo said with a dimpled smile. Finn barely held in a dreamy sigh.
Dimples.
“Why don’t you join us?” Finn asked, scooting over to make room for the blond. But Leo just shook his head with a rueful smile.
“I wish I could, but I’ve got twelve pies that need to be made.”
“Twelve?” Finn asked in mild horror. “When do you sleep?”
“The chocolate crème pies are in high demand, especially around the holidays. But it’s fine, I don’t mind it. I’m just glad I've got business.” Leo seemed to be ignoring the sleep question, which was never a good sign.
“You look tired.” Logan noted, face muddled with concern.
Leo laughed softly, but didn’t seem to take offense. “Thanks a lot, darlin’.”
Logan broke eye contact and pushed the residual whipped cream around on his plate. Finn hadn’t even realized he’d started eating, but he quickly followed suit and fuck, was that good.
“I just meant you need to take care of yourself, that’s all.” Logan mumbled into his plate without looking up, almost as if he was afraid to see the cook’s response.
“Says the guy who works even longer hours than I do.” Leo teased, causing Logan to roll his eyes.
“That’s because it’s almost Christmas and I work at a Christmas tree farm. It’s only temporary. We’ll be back to normal by the end of the week.”
“Well, good. You deserve to sleep in for once.” Leo said, taking a step back towards the kitchen. “But I really do have to go. Those pies won’t make themselves.”
“Do you want help?” Finn asked hopefully, He honestly couldn’t think of a better way to spend the night than baking with these two. Being given instructions in a thick southern drawl, helping Logan make pie filling, trading stories (and maybe kisses) while they waited for the pies to be done.
But Leo quickly dashed his dreams. “That’s sweet, honey, but I think I’ll be faster on my own. I’ve got a system that makes it pretty efficient. And I don’t give out my recipes to just anyone, you know.”
Oh, but I’d love to be someone to you.
Logan also looked disappointed. “We should get going, then. Don’t want to keep distracting you.”
“At least you’re a welcome distraction.” Leo said with a wink before he turned and disappeared into the kitchen. He let the door close behind him before backing up to lean against it, tilting his head back to rest against the wood and closing his eyes. The happy façade dropped in an instant.
Because Logan was out there, on a date with a guy. A handsome, kind, funny guy who would have absolutely no trouble sweeping Logan off his feet.
And that guy wasn’t Leo.
.
Finn flopped dramatically onto the couch back at June’s apartment, muffling a scream into a poor, unsuspecting pillow. June looked up from her book with a laugh. “Well hello to you, too.”
“I’m in love.”
“Oh?” Heather asked from her spot cuddled up next to June.
Finn turned his head sideways to open one eye and look at the two of them. “With a lumberjack and a cook.”
“Ah,” June said knowingly as she dog-eared the page she was on and closed the book. “Beware the lumberjacks. They’re known to be irresistible. Alright then, which Tremblay was it?”
Finn cocked his head. “What?”
Heather smiled as June tilted her head back and let her run her fingers through dark brown curls. They were so cute it was almost sickening. “There’s four of them: three sisters and a brother. Which one did you fall for?”
Finn couldn’t have held back the smile that crossed his face even if he tried. “Logan.”
June groaned. “I get it. Holy shit, those eyes.”
“I know.”
“I didn’t know he cooked, though.”
“No, the cook was another guy.” Finn sighed as he twisted to lay on his back and stare wistfully up at the ceiling. “Leo.”
“The southern one with the diner?”
“That’s the one.”
“Damn, O’Hara. You do know-”
“They’re head-over-heels in love with each other? Yeah, I got that.” Finn stretched his legs out to rest on June’s lap. “But I’m also pretty sure that was a date. And that Logan was flirting with me.” He sighed again, covering his eyes with his arm. “I’m doomed.”
“Always so dramatic.” June teased. “Just date both of them.”
Finn froze, his mind going completely blank. “What?”
“Date both of them.” She repeated, unfazed. “Polyamorous relationships are a thing, you know. Who says you can’t date both of them?”
Finn moved his arm away from his face to stare at her. “Huh.” He finally said, mind kicking back into gear. That sounded… perfect, actually. Only a few hitches. Did Leo even like him? They’d barely talked to each other. Finn could see Logan being ok with the whole dating two people thing, seeing that he was flirting with both of them, but what would Leo think? And the other hitch. “I’m only for a week, though.”
“Then you’d better act fast, lover boy.”
“I’ve got a question.” Heather piped up.
Finn looked at her and raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to ask her question.
“Where’s the tree?”
He could probably see it from their front window if he bothered to stand up, still strapped to his rental car. “Shit.”
