Been reading one of the Nightwing comics... And hit a part in Dick's narration.

Dick is thinking about how a plan must be precise, and remembering advice from an older performer at his circus.

A performer whose shtick included diving thirty feet or so off a platform into a bucket of water - somehow, that could be pulled off by calculating the just right degree of angle when you hit it.

Dick is thinking about it in connection of the precision needed, and we're thinking, okay, it's a nice circus memory, brings home Dick started learning before joining Bruce... and then he says

"I was there on the day he miscalculated the angle - just by a degree or so. And broke his neck"

Teeny Tiny Dick, less than eight years old, had to watch a friend die a gruesome death on his routine job. Long before his parents died. Long before he was Robin.

Like, no freaking wonder Dick didn't hesitate to go out to fight psychos as Robin - kid was already used to death being part of your job...

Man. I think I need a moment.

Gosh- Dick, darling, you need serious therapy.

Nico referring to his mom as "Mama" implies he most likely at least used to refer to Hades as "Papa" and i 100% headcanon he still does but mostly in the manner of him having the entire Underworld wrapped around his finger for being the baby of the family

Strohl and Hulkenberg are so funny to me as a duo. They're the exact same type of people - they NEED to pledge their life to a liege or they'll start ripping up your couch like an understimulated shepherd dog. However they go about it in polar opposite directions. (Early-game story spoilers ahead, mid-game gameplay spoilers) Hulkenberg had her life purpose taken away years back and comes to realize hyperfocusing probably isn't the optimal way to go about it, so she expands her horizons to do her duty better. Strohl had no will to live until joining the assassination plot, and then it fails so bad he resolves to hyperfocus so hard the classes he unlocks can only do one thing, critical slash damage really really well

Hulkenberg is the formal knightly one but she delights in mucking around and would rather fist fight people than think. But then she demolishes you in chess and teaches you tactics while Strohl, the familiar casual guy who's a lot more stategically minded is the one always sharpening a sword and implying if anything happened to you, seppuku may be on the table - Gallica this is so scary play encounter music - my courage has increased

It all clicked when I saw their third tier classes are paladin/dark knight and samurai. Ohhhh you guys are henchmen. You wanna be henchmen so bad. They're the exact same kinda guy but are completely baffled by everything the other guy does. They have everything in common and nothing in common. They both think they're the normal one of the group. They have completely different ideas about how to best do their jobs but they simply must beat the shit out of each other on the deck daily or else they might have to actually go to therapy. I need an early 2000s team up/roadtrip action movie with these two where Will is faking being kidnapped to draw out the bad guys but Gallica didn't tell Strohl and Hulkenberg because their bad acting would immediately give it away and they proceed to absolutely demolish the metaphorical furniture of the house of Euchronia looking for the world's most specialest lil' captain. Do you see my vision 🤌

ngl I'm disappointed that Jinx and Vi's interaction in the mines didn't include even just a brief confirmation from Jinx that Silco was like a father to her and wasn't abusing her. That conversation didn't happen at the dinner scene, Vi was still under the impression there that Silco had been cruel to her. I think it would have been on theme for the episode. Jinx smells his old jacket, can she have just one line to say "hey, he never hurt me, he actually cared about me, and I cared about him too." Doesn't have to be a whole conversation, just let her say it out loud.

hey. if you are a queer/trans person who is feeling hopeless and overwhelmed by the election results, i just want to tell you this:

please stay safe, take care of each other, and if you ever feel like it's over - i suggest reading about our queer elders and ancestors who lived through time periods that were even more dangerous and hostile. i always find strength and solidarity in their stories.

but most importantly: hold onto one another, build each other up, and love one another. we will get through this.

And no, I haven't exactly been on my booster shots. Think Nikolai said every two years but didn't think I'd be back in Russia so bloody soon. So yeah, was happy to follow Price and Roach over the net. Not just because it meant I was far from the mutts, but because I got to listen to the two of them working together like we once did. There was the same option: take out the target or let them him pass. Nice to hear Price taking Roach under his wing. Know the effect it can have.

i get the lines blur but there IS a big difference between media which doesn't explicitly tell/show you precisely what happens in the end but does point pretty clearly down the intended road vs legitimate open endings where you're supposed to decide what happens completely on your own and multiple interpretations would be supported

Bad End: The Fall

Summary: It's my Hound!MC Alon's birthday, so I made some sketches of them and Mhin based on the scene from Transformers One! For context, the idea is that Vere has gotten himself free and went on a rampage in the Senobium, slaughtering students and clerics alike, and destroying the labs and archives, along with all hope of finding cures for Mhin and Alon's respective curses. In the midst of the massacre, Vere finally made Mhin lose control of the monster within them and they have transformed into a crow monster hybrid. There is a brutal and bloody fight between them but Mhin has finally defeated Vere and is about to kill him, when Alon, their partner, stops them.

“What are you doing?”

“It’s over. He lost.”

“So did we! We lost everything because of him — I have to do this!”

“No, you don’t. Look at him, he's down. He's no longer a threat.”

“He needs to die! Can’t you see that?”

“This won’t cure either of us! Don't do this, Mhin. Don’t be the monster he says you are.”

“…You need to move out of my way. Before I move you myself.”

“Mhin—”

“MOVE!”

“Stop—!”
