Every fantasy I have of One Piece is actually just increasingly elaborate ways of saving Ace at Marineford btw. Sometimes it’s showing up in the forest and letting the gremlin know he’s loved ugh

Out of the (unfortunately) many One Piece scenarios bouncing around in my head one of my favorites is Zoro getting hit with the memory loss beam, and only remembering up until like. immediately after Morgan’s defeat. He’s agreed to join up Luffy and is already feeling his heart swell with loyalty, but is still under the impression that he’s going to join up to a much larger crew, with several other members.

So he just blinks awake and at first there’s none of the confusion and yelling that comes with the memory loss trope, he’s okay, he’s banged up cause of Morgan, he’s on a boat because he just became a pirate, and oh hey Luffy’s right there. This must be his new crew.

“Wouldn’t Dragon care / contradict this?” Dragon is intentionally not associated with his actual son, so 50/50 he’d even know. And what is he gonna care the government think he has 2 kids by 2 moms? He’s not gonna tell them anything. He’d probably let them believe that to fuck w them + so the son of another of their enemies lives free / isn’t targeted for his blood

I don’t think it would necessarily solve Marineford or make it so that Ace survives, but I do think it would be extremely funny

2 am post but i think luffy loses a lot of his appeal to me in fanon because people shave away his genuine weirdness to make him fit the must-protect sunshine cinnamon roll slot every anime must have in order for the fandom to make incorrect quotes and fill out draw-your-squads with

maybe it’s just my problem with the way people handle autistic characters in fandom spaces just in general but man i promise to you you can go one media without forcing a character to be the SpongeBob-esque do-no-wrong wooby

Post on twitter asking what Luffy would do about Sasuke in Naruto’s place, there was a lot of answers about how he’d respect Sasuke’s choice to commit to his ambitions, and later beat him down with little remorse if forced too. And that’s good, that’s pretty good analysis I think. But I’m over here thinking that if Luffy had been put in Naruto’s place at ANY point in the narrative he’d probably end up pulling a Sasuke himself and burning the Leaf Village to the fucking ground.

I do like the everyone is at least a little in love with luffy headcanon but it turns me off when it turns into straight up worship like no they all think he’s gross and deeply uncool but they love him anyway. Not despite of it but because of it you know? Like he’s the kind of guy who’ll pull you out of the deepest hole of despair and look you dead in the eye and tell you he’ll do anything to help you but he also straight up threw hands with an eight year old.
