#if there’s no vanilla extract I don’t want it

i’ve been scouring the polls tag barely even reading the polls just looking for the vanilla extract answer

Welp, I tried to get everything done before my trip but I didn’t quite make it. Can’t blame me for getting tired though, I’ve been at these requests nonstop since December and I’ve started losing my mind about three months ago lol. I promise they will get done before I work on anything else. There will be long stretches of riding in the car for me so maybe I’ll be able to write along the way. The thing I can’t count on is always having service though, but if I finish something and I have a connection, I’ll put it up while I’m away. For those of you who might be thinking, ‘what is she talking about?’ I am going camping starting tomorrow and won’t be back home until August 5th if all goes well.

The other main reason I’m making this post, is to poll you, my dear followers, about how the hell I should do new requests when I come back.

I would prefer that you do not reblog this poll because I only want people who have a personal interest in this blog to voice their opinion. I made a pro and a con for each option below the cut to maybe help you decide. Without further ado, let’s get into this. I’ll be curious to see what y’all think.

Pros/cons below the cut

Free For All

Pro: Don’t have to wait to send in an idea. Gives me a lot of options.

Con: Any misc asks could be drowned out in the sea of requests and may not be answered right away or at all if I don’t catch them in a timely manner.

6 Request Limit Per Month

Pro: More manageable work load for me. Might give me more time to add original ideas too.

Con: People may take advantage by pretending to be different people to fill up spots even faster. If I believe this is happening, I would not allow anonymous requests.

Vanilla Extract

Pro: I’d still be writing things. There would be more variety. I would maybe open the floor to requests eventually if I don’t have any good ideas.

Con: Well… no requests. But I’d still be open to short ‘what if’ style asks.

So I giggled at a tumblr poll that had vanilla extract and my spouse asked what I was giggling at. “Vanilla extract” I replied. Now my spouse doesn’t do tumblr so rather than responding with

He responded with “oh you see the thing that’s blowing up the internet about the alcohol content of vanilla extract and people trying to get drunk off of it?”

I stared blankly.

“What are you talking about?”

Anyway friends, a little baffled by the fact there are two entirely unrelated reasons why vanilla extract is going viral right now.

URGENT: 2 GAZAN GFM, EXTREMELY LOW ON FUNDS

Long post but I need your attention!!

I am here to bring attention to 2 fundraisers which have been stagnating for a long time.  I am generally wary of punching together more than one fundraiser in a post because more often than not, even if the textpost gets sufficiently boosted, with notes reaching upto 4k or above, there  isn’t really a difference made in the fundraisers themselves. But still I am attempting something here. Please cooperate and have the patience to completely read through to reach the poll at the end. That is the most important thing here !! If done right,we can truly help these gfms. We are attempting to raise at least 2k for each of the families and it would not be possible without your participation. 

1. Alaa Amsee, reblogged by 90-ghost , has been struggling with her gfm since May. With only 5.18% of her goal raised till now, Alaa has begun to despair. Alaa has 2 beautiful children- Maria and Hazem, both of whom have fallen sick due to lack of access to proper sanitation. Alaa herself has contracted Hepatitis A and is very weak, because she cannot keep down even the meager amount of food she has access to. The family is malnourished, starving, tired from fighting illnesses without access to medical care. On top of that- they are facing bombing in Deir al-Balah currently!! They have almost lost hope of finding any sort of help from the Tumblr community. Alaa says that Hazem, who is only 3 years old, has started to talk only of war, bombs and tanks. Please donate and help soothe the heart of a mother. 

2. Mohammad Iwais is an entrepreneur from Gaza, who once lived a beautiful life. But soon his nightmare began when his house was bombed in the genocide. Not only that, the occupation has also murdered 10 of his family members- his sister was on death’s door too, after being shot by a quadcopter bullet. Luckily she survived, but Mohammed knows that luck is a very fickle thing in Gaza and he cannot bear to lose any more of his family members. After the smear campaign against Gazans, Mohammad was worried. He was ( in fact he still is) ready to lose every facet of his privacy. He hates it, but says if this is how his humanity can be judged, then so be it.  Please don’t make him go through such humiliation. Help him evacuate himself and the rest of his family. On tumblr we often have events where we get to push the silly buttons. The site went wild on April fool boops and vanilla extract. I want you to show the same energy here too- this is about someone’s life. Remember we are trying to raise at least 2k for each of these gfm. Please click on the relevant  option after you donate/boost and mention the fundraiser falling behind in the polls.
