Have your parents ever tried to control your relationship? >> ---
Have you ever had to give someone directions before? >> Yeah, I gave them a lot when I lived in New York.
Speaking of which, are you good at understanding driving directions? >> I don’t drive, so it’s irrelevant. Also, if I need directions somewhere these days I just use Google Maps. (I don’t always use the GPS itself because I enjoy figuring it out on my own as if the app were a paper map.)
How many people do you text daily? >> One at most, but usually zero.
Do you have an iPod or an MP3 player? Which brand? >> No, I use my phone as a music player.
What was your favorite television show as a child? >> I don’t recall having one.
Do you play any instruments? Which instruments do you play? >> No.
Is there anyone who you call by their last name? >> No.
What did you do on your last birthday? >> I don’t remember. I don’t think we went to Chicago on that weekend, mostly because we did two Chicago day-trips last year to get my suit and couldn’t really budget in a third.
Which of the Seven Deadly Sins do you commit the most? >> Sloth.
Has anyone ever told you that you're incapable of whispering? >> No, but I’ve known a fair few people that fit that description.
What is your least favorite subject in school? >> ---
Have you ever been involved in a custody battle before? >> No. I was technically the subject of one as a baby, but it really isn’t much of a battle if one party doesn’t even bother showing up to fight...
Do you know a couple who constantly sucks on each other's face? >> That’s... such a disgusting turn of phrase, please spare me.
Who was the best kisser you've ever dated? >> ---
When was the last time you watched a YouTube video? >> This morning, with my breakfast. Watched Wisecrack’s new video about comedy news, which got me interested in Patriot Act (which I think is on Netflix?).
Have you ever babysat a newborn baby before? >> No.
How many times a week do you usually see the person you love? >> I see the important people in my life every day.
When was the last time you held someone's hand? >> ---
How many meals have you eaten today, so far? >> I ate one actual meal. Nothing else I ate today would qualify as a full meal to me.
Do you think it's stupid for people to call others "hot?" >> Uh, no?
Do you personally think Wikipedia is a reliable source? >> No, it’s a reliable springboard. The sources in the References section, on the other hand, can often be really useful.
Are you someone who listens to more girl or guy bands? >> Most of the artists I listen to are male.
Have you ever shopped at Wet Seal before? Did you like it? >> I know I’ve been inside one, back when there was one on Bleecker and Broadway, but I don’t remember if I bought anything.
Do you care about spending money if it's someone else's money? >> Of course I do.
What is your favorite Disney movie of all time? >> Lilo and Stitch, probably. I want to rewatch that soon, but I’m guessing everything Disney is on Disney+ right now (and streaming from torrents is an incredible pain in the ass in my experience).
When you were a child, did you ever want to become a wizard/witch? >> I don’t recall that ever coming up in my daydreams.
What are the color of your walls? Do you want to repaint? >> Off-white. They’re not my walls to paint (it’s an apartment complex).
Would you rather have hardwood floors or carpet? >> Hardwood, absolutely.
Do you have any siblings you neglect you? >> ---
Who would you say is the most selfish person you know? >> I wouldn’t say that about anyone I know.
Who was the last person you yelled at? Why? >> ---
As a kid, did you ever go to camp? >> Once, to church camp. I’ve gone to camp far more as an adult.
What were the last three movies you watched in theaters? >> Birds of Prey, uhh... fuck. Oh, right, Jojo Rabbit. Don’t remember anything beyond that.

Are you currently trying to learn to play any instrument? >> No.
Do you believe in ghosts, spirits or demons? >> I’m open to the experience.
When was the last time you went somewhere you thought was haunted? >> I don’t usually think that about places. I don’t think I have much of a sense for that kind of phenomena.
What is your favorite breakfast meal? >> Veggie burger and chips, apparently, since that’s what I eat every day.
What does the lead singer of your favorite band look like? >> ---
Who was the last person to compliment you? >> I don’t remember the last compliment I got.

When was the last time you felt like you were high on life? >> I’m not familiar with that feeling.
Do you know someone who cares about themselves more than their child? >> I’m sure I do, somewhere. There are a lot of people in this world that behave in ways that suggest this. I mean, my own mother was one.
Do you still watch cartoons on television? >> I watch them on streaming services, but yeah.
What do you usually order at Taco Bell, if you go there? >> I don’t usually go there. I do sometimes like that caramel empanada thing they sell, though.

Do you have freckles? >> No.
How many dogs do you have, if any at all? >> Zero.

What color shirt are you wearing at the moment? >> Black.
Do you enjoy going school shopping? >> ---
Do you think Pug dogs are adorable or just plain ugly? >> I think they’re a pretty disturbing mutation of dogness, but I wouldn’t treat them poorly because of it. It ain’t their fault humans are weird.

Has anyone ever knitted you something before? >> No.
What was the worst substance you've spilled on yourself before? >> I don’t recall ever spilling anything heinous on myself. Alcohol can be bad because then you smell like booze and that’s just not a good look.
Have you ever made out with more than one person in one night? >> Yeah.
What three words would describe the person you love? >> ---
Do you think their is a soulmate out there for everyone? >> I don’t find the concept of soulmates useful at all. I guess you could use that word for how I feel about Can Calah, but there are too many awkward (for me) connotations attached to that word by now and I would just rather not.
Do you like short or long surveys the best? >> Longish. This is kind of too long for me, tbh, but I soldier on.

Have you ever bought fake money and tried to make it pass for real? >> No.
Are your siblings nice the majority of the time? >> ---
How many uncles do you have? >> ---
What would you say is the worst movie you've ever seen? >> All of the movies I really didn’t like, I didn’t finish, so I can’t remember them now.

Do you ever watch any soap operas? >> I mean, I watch Grey’s Anatomy.
Have you ever met someone who was mean to everyone? >> Sure.

If you have any piercings, who did them? >> I don’t remember where I got my nose piercing. Probably at that one spot on St Marks Place. (My ears were done as a baby.)
Do you usually have a low tolerance for pain or high tolerance? >> I have a pretty decent tolerance for most physical aches, but not any kind of abdominal cramp.
Do you give into peer pressure easily? >> That’s not really an issue for me.
Have you ever simply looked at someone & could tell they were homosexual? >> Not unless they were wearing gay pride attire at the Pride parade, or something. Even then they could just be a really exciteable ally, lol (or an otherwise not-cishet person but not necessarily a gay person).
Do you have the ability to read someone without even knowing them? >> No.
Would you rather eat or sleep? >> Er... whichever one I needed at the time?
Are you one of those die hard Twilight or Harry Potter fans? >> No.
Have you ever cried while watching a movie trailor? >> Yeah, they do shit with the music that gets to be painfully identifiable after a while but my brain is still a sucker for it.
When was the last time you changed your hairstyle? >> I don’t remember. I’ve been buzzing my head for years.
Do your parents ever force you to talk to your grandparents? >> ---
If you were a crayon, what color would you be? >> Meh.
Do you think long surveys are broing or entertaining? >> Well, most of them are boring because the questions start to flag in quality. Do I still take them? Yeah. You do what you gotta do.
Have you ever learned that someone had lied to you all along? >> Yup.
When was the last time you had a physical injury? >> I don’t remember.
Have you ever wanted to be a lawyer? >> Not at all.
Have you ever had to bail someone out of jail before? >> No. I don’t even have that kind of money.
Is there anyone in your imediate family who was adopted? >> ---
Do you know anyone who doesn't have any common sense? >> I don’t think common sense is a thing. There are people I know who are not experienced in the same ways I’m experienced; when they are clueless about a thing I’m intimately familiar with, then it sometimes strikes me as odd, yeah. But that doesn’t mean my sense is “common” or that they’re stupid, it just means I’m used to knowing what I know and I often assume other people do too (which is what I get for assuming).
When was the last time you bought something? >> Saturday, at the farmers’ market.
Do you think you look anything like your parents? >> ---
Who is the skinniest person you know? Is it because of a disease? >> I don’t know, man, I’m not keeping track.
Do you know someone who is discustingly obese who wears G-strings? >> Wow.
Do you know someone who insults themselves to get attention? >> I know a lot of self-deprecating people, but far be it from me to assume that they’re doing it for attention. Some might be, but that’s not up to me to determine.
Is this year the best one you've had so far? >> LOL
What are your plans for this weekend? >> This coming weekend? I have no idea.
What color is your significant other's hair? >> Sparrow’s hair is currently a burgundy-type red. Can Calah’s hair is white. King Crimson’s hair is kind of the same colour as Sparrow’s, incidentally.
Have you ever applied for a job at Walmart before? >> Maybe.
Do you know anyone who does drugs currently? >> Sure.
Would you ever become a foster parent? >> No.
Are you ashamed of anyone in your family? >> ---
What jobs do your parents have? >> ---
Would rather talk to someone on a landline or a cell phone? >> I’d rather not talk to anyone on a phone, period.
Have you ever had a Tumblr account? Are you devoted to it? >> What’s tumblr? (I don’t know if “devoted” is the word I’d use, but I’m pretty fond of my blogs and the fun I have putting stuff on them.)
Has anyone ever given you a psychiatric assessment? >> Yes.
If you got pregnant right now, would you abort the baby? >> Of course, but see, I avoid that situation entirely by just not doing anything that could possibly get me pregnant.
Speaking of which, are you for or against abortion? >> Take a wild guess.
What is your favorite amusement park? >> I don’t have one. Well, does Luna Park at Coney Island count? Lot of good times there.
What was the best Christmas gift you've ever gotten? >> ---
Has anyone ever called you jealous of them before? >> Sure.
Did you ever have braces? >> Nope.
Who is your favorite actor or actress? >> It varies.
What is the most important date in your life so far? >> ---
How many people your age do you know who are pregnant? >> Zero.
What is cuter: kisses on the forehead of the cheek? >> ---
Do you believe in evolution or creation? >> I stand pretty firmly on the side of evolution. I do love a good creation myth, though.
Would you rather take a bath or a shower? Why or why not? >> I will never take a bath if I can help it. I just have a strong aversion to them, take it up with my neuroatypical brain matter.
What group would you say you'd normally fit into the most? >> Bold of you to assume etc etc
As a child, what game did you want to play the most? >> ---

When was the last time you did something sexual? >> Er... about a week ago? Something like that?
Where was the last place you went on vacation? >> Texas. Kind of a vacation. Mostly a day-and-a-half trip for the purpose of attending a wedding.
Do you collect anything? What? >> No.
What kind of Pringles do you like the most? >> I don’t.
Are you better at hand-drawing things or painting? >> I assume I’m slightly better at drawing than at painting, simply because I actually have a background in drawing (although my muscle memory is pretty atrophied).
Have either of your parents ever called you a failure before? >> Not in so many words.
What do you think is the grossest taste in the world? >> Oh, I don’t know.

I'm assuming everyone else'll ask the obvious ones so, Celica and Camilla👀
funnily enough no one asked the “obvious” up to this point but I’m very happy you asked about these two specifically
CELICA:
How I feel about this character: CELICA WAS ROBBED BY HER OWN GAME CELICA WAS ROBBED BY HER OWN GAMECELICA WAS ROBBED BY HER OWN GA
All the people I ship romantically with this character: I hate Celica/Alm but mostly because it’s so heavily baited that it just grates on my Annoying Ship instincts too loudly, and also because they were good friends as kids but are wildly different as adults and likely have very poor actual chemistry. Maelica is cute and I respect it. Celica is hard for me to ship within her own world, mostly because of how much I love the way she closes herself off to everybody else, but that’s a rant for another time I guess.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: I REALLY prefer Mae and Celica as friends, and that’s why I wrote them the way I did in Cinders (more Mae and Celica friendship coming soon!). I think like, there are almost definitely unresolved romantic feelings from Mae, and maybe they work that out somehow or maybe it’s just something Mae learns to live with and appreciate in spite of their differences. But ultimately Mae is the hyper-supportive BFF Celica needs in her life to survive, while Celica is the purpose that Mae needs to hold on to to feel like she means something in the world - and to me, that dynamic is far too beautiful to be worth erasing just to make the obvious gay ship come together.
My unpopular opinion about this character: CONRAD RUINED HER CHARACTER AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE GAME CONRAD RUINED HER CHARACTER AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE GAME CONRAD R
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: EVERYTHING!!!!! I WISH HER STORY HAD FUCKING HAPPENED!!! I wish Intsys had the fucking balls to commit to telling a dark and horrific story about a female character that they were CLEARLY going for back in FE2 without making it so weird and confusing just to have an awkward scene with Alm and Celica reuniting that doesn’t actually pay off at all!
I CAN AND WILL GO OFF ABOUT THIS OH MY GOD
CAMILLA:
How I feel about this character: tristan play despacito
All the people I ship romantically with this character: I really like Camilla/Hinoka. I feel like she would have surprisingly good chemistry with Kagero, too.
I also really like Camilla/Micaiah. But that one is very special, and harder to explain in shortform. Please look forward to Cinders of the Emblem Book II.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Camilla’s relationship with her family is very important to me, and that includes her “extended family” e.g. Sakura and Takumi. I really like the idea of Camilla trying to be a supportive ‘right hand’ to Ryoma the same way she is to Xander - I don’t get the impression that Ryoma is used to having someone like that in his life, and I feel like it’d play out interesting, especially if Ryoma was, you know, an interesting character on his own literally at all.
My unpopular opinion about this character: uhh jeez. wow. um. I don’t have any problems with Camilla’s figure or her weird overbearing feelings for her siblings, I actually take much more issue with the vague yandere sauce sprinkled over her (as opposed to how someone would ACTUALLY respond to her trauma, being short-tempered almost to a point of mood swings/bipolar and being overly eager to make her threats VERY clear instead of masking them behind a maternal smile) and the fact that she’s removed from literally any and all context in any material besides Fates itself (and even then, she’s still frequently removed from that context, as if they were afraid to admit she had any justification for being the way she is)
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish Camilla had been a much more major character. Xander is wonderful and highly underrated, but I feel like Camilla makes a much better ally/sympathetic villain than he does, at least the way that Fates is written (if you start talking about “how it should be” then, well…).

RANDOM FACTS ABOUT THE MUN.
Repost, not reblog! Tag 6 muns you would like to get to know better when done!
Name: Kaitlyn! Please, for the love of god, never use it.
Nickname: Katy, Kat, variations; (Katydid, Katybug, Kitkat, etc.) But if you wanna call me something else, that’s fine too!
Age: 22! Simultaneously too old and a wee bab, lmao
Faceclaim: Not something I do! I could never pick just one, besides maybe my own face! (I’d thought about using Shuu Iwamine or Rize Kamishiro before, if that says anything haha)
Pronouns: Your highness/My liege She/Her! But “they/them” is good too.
Height: ~5’6”-5’7”; I can’t remember the last time I checked.
Birthday: Poppin’, obviously March 30th.
Aesthetic: Purple and black?? EGNautilus scientists tittering excitedly over adorable or exciting sea creatures. Omnipresent Mountain Dew cans, fast food and colorful kneesocks. 2AM adventures on clear nights in summer that last until dawn starts sending it’s first beams into the sky. Spacey FPS games and cutesy RPG and Pokemon games interspersed throughout. Weathered frames and tired eyes. ROBOTS… I have no idea, man. A lot of things!
Last song you listened to: “The Thief and the Moon” by Shawn James!
Favourite muse(s) you’ve written: kfkjdf. Sixes definitely counts,, Uhh. My first was a canon-divergent Eridan, who I’d played before Act 6 was even close to being a thing! And he was a lot of fun. Accidentally made a “do not that” meme that still sometimes plagues me to this day ldkfdk A dream-bubble/dead Karkat who’d been murdered in his timeline’s Gamzee’s rampage and only had one eye, he was a biiiig favorite. I loved having enough energy for that all; typing that much shittalk??? Was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done in roleplay, holy shit. Entire fucking PAGES of just these absolutely USELESS rants because that nubby little shit had so much passion for it. Fuck. I loved Karkat. A bloodswapped, cobalt-blooded Karkat who was also post-game for a pre-established timeline where trolls and humans co-existed on the same planet(s). He was a Thief of Blood and a massive asshole; at his worst, he was manipulative, isolative, vengeful, restless… But also, he was a really big dork??? He LOOOOOVED spy movies and probably popped boners regularly for Black Widow and James Bond or the Kingsmen. Fucking nerd. He fancied himself a spy; his best friend was a badass hacker, and they’d (F)LARP together as a stereotypical “you hack, I’ll infiltrate” team. Before Earth, he never cared about Christmas, but one year his richass neighbourhood started putting up flashy decorations and he got jealous, so he stole a shitton of them to make his own house look the best. He’s so… So stupid. I love him so much. And of course, jumping off the Homestuck bandwagon; I have Lv/Hadz! My dorky, sadsack pun machine. A (sort of, mostly) secret post-genocide Sans; the Bad Run™ had been reset after completion, but something went wrong, so he remembers it. Still, he’s been running for like, two years now! So he’s had a lot of time to go and bury all that as deeply as monsterly possible lmaooo. He’s distrusting, paranoid, and isolative himself; but he’s probably the most all-around good guy on this list. He just wants to get on with his life and never have to fight anyone ever again, lmfao. I… I also have a few OCs, but you’ll have to pry those out of my cold, dead hands. … Carefully. With lots of reassurance. (I’m very shy…)
What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): I like… Undertale. And I like Underfell enough that once the idea was presented to me, my mind kinda ran away with it, haha. It started with Hopper, my weird UF Sans! But it feels like every time I approach the AU I have slightly different ideas for it, pfft. I guess with Sixes, I wanted to step away from the skeletons for awhile! I was really excited about messing with Mettaton for it, because I… Really liked listening to the radio for awhile, haha. I thought it’d be kind of cool if instead of being really excited to be seen flaunting himself across a television set, he wasn’t so happy with how he turned out physically, and made his influence a little less directly visible. It fit in well with the seemingly common theme of conflict in Underfell, and things just really exploded from there! It’s hard to summarize in just a few short words. That said, Sixes probably wouldn’t have a blog at all if it wasn’t for tumblr user wibler’s- Sixes’ Sans!- mun coaxing me into giving it a shot! She has a lot of faith in my creative abilities. I dunno what I’d do without her support through the past few years, heheh. She’s neat.
What are your favourite aspects of your current muse: LOUD ANGRY ROBOT LMFAO Shit though, I dunno! I like writing a character who goes through the bipolar disorder motions, the manics and the depressives. I love watching him go hot and cold on characters as he flipflops through his impulses and subsequent regrets. I love that in his timeline, everyone knows him while he himself actually… Hardly knows anyone at all. He’s made himself untrustworthy, and in turn doesn’t trust anyone, either, so he hardly ever opens up beyond… You know. Angry screaming, or shameless flirting and flattery, ignoring personal space bubbles… I love that his Sans being absent kind of smacked him on the nose, because that was someone he was actually making a connection with, but tried to play it off like Sans was just another moment in his life so he kind of treated him like a dick lmao. Deadass knew the poor little dude had anxiety issues and scared him on purpose, made joking death threats, joked about flirting with his shittyass brother… Sixes was such a prick. Fuck. And he realizes that! And after ditching his family just to have a cataclysmic fallout with his other BFF, Alphys, Sans disappearing… It’s something he blames himself for. It kind of sobered him up a little to the way his actions affect people. AND DESPITE EVERYTHING, HE STILL USES HIS CAMERAS (THAT HE STOLE FROM ALPHYS IN A PETTY FIT) SCATTERED ACROSS THE UNDERGROUND AND HIS SHITTY TRAP ROOMS IN HOTLAND TO PUBLICALLY HUMILIATE RANDOM CITIZENS IN A WIPEOUT-ESQUE PODCAST ON THE UNDERNET. At least that assholitude earns him money, though! Fuck. I also reaaallly love how different AUs bring out different aspects of his character, but that’s a rant for another time or place! Hoo. I dunno, man. I could go on about Sixes for like, ever. He’s a really fun muse.
What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: I’m… I’m not even gonna lie, a lot of it is the positive feedback lmao. I don’t, uh. Do much these days, creatively or recreationally speaking, and I don’t really have a lot of friends IRL… Er, any, actually, if you’re only counting closehand. All my friends live hundreds of miles away, and it sucks. But this is… Simultaneously social and creative. I get to talk to people, and make friends, and toss creativity back and forth with people, and it’s really fulfilling. I love to be a part of other people’s creative processes! I love seeing what other people do with THEIR characters, and when we all??? Interact??? Mother of God, it’s such a treat! Everyone’s so creative and impressive and inspiring… And hearing/seeing us all go back and forth about what we admire in each other… I’m pretty happy with just being a part of writing, and telling other people that I love what they do! But every now and then it comes back around to me in little ways, and it feels really special. It’s hard to imagine anyone liking my stuff past a “they’re pretty cool I guess, yeah” sentiment, despite my glittering impression of a lot of the writers in the community; so when someone DOES say they like my stuff, even just by saying they like a drawing, or like the way I described something, I go OFF THE WALL LMAO. Straight up dissolve and slip through the floorboards a la Gaster style with how lovely it feels. Shucks… And, you know. Watching characters develop in general- whether they be mine or not- is really fulfilling and inspiring. A good cycle.
Favourite types of threads: Anything that feels meaningful! I love it when two characters make any kind of connection, despite the context. That said, typically “angst” and “fluff” style threads are a big favorite, but there has to be, like… you know. Meaning to it. It feels really… I dunno, cardboardy to just throw a muse into a woodchipper for no particular reason just to have them drag themselves to another muse begging for help or to have a chance to explain some kind of deep, edgy feeling or story. Baseless fluff has a lot more wiggle room lmao, but that can get really monotonous really quick if something more significant fails to spark somewhere along the line. Just so long as something’s getting achieved somehow, I guess! If it feels like nothing’s changed between the two at the end of the thread, it feels really unfulfilling and hollow.
Biggest struggle in regards to your current muse: URRRGH. IMPLEMENTING THE RADIO SHOW/PODCAST THING… On one hand, Sixes has kind of collected the idea that the multiverse is a very indifferent place towards the goings-on within his timeline! And, he supposes, that that suits him fine. Hurts his pride a little, but it’s something he’s just going to curl up and lick his wounds for, pfft. But still! I wish I knew how to make it a little more obvious and prominent- The same could go for his growing industry, too! I guess I’ve just been jobless too long to really have a feel for it like I should, oof… Additionally, drawing him is reALLY HARD… He’s in his classic box form most of the time because he’s really insecure about his EX form, and yet I draw his EX form more than anything because the box is frustrating to draw??? And despite it all, I’m still not sure I’m terribly happy with how his EX form looks!!! He’s supposed to be a little closer to a NEO design than initially planned, as Alphys fully intended him to be a KILLING MACHINE from the start without telling him! But he caught on early on, and they kind of bullied each other into compromising a bunch of things until he was just this “hideous” mess that neither of them were terribly happy with… So, you know. The indecision carried over to me too, evidently! Ugh.
Tagged by: nah! Just stole it was all. (from slobbyseconds/coolskeletonsdontcry forever ago, but just got around to now. kfjf)
Tagging: Anyone who wants to! @ me back if you do it, though; I love reading these things!

Oh god, I forgot to post the end of year writing meme. So here it is about a week late. I wrote so goddamn much this year. I never expected karabita fandom to just kind of. Happen. haha. It was weird going through my fics and thinking about things like good lines or good summaries. I wonder if anyone who reads the fics remember lines better than I do? It feels weird thinking about someone having a favorite fic of mine or a favorite line from one of my fics or something. After all this time, I still kind of think, like, “well, no one’s really reading/enjoying/remembering what I write” so it’s odd to think of my fics inside someone else’s head. I guess that’s what they’re for, though...
Anyway, my fics this year were full of a lot of ups and downs. If anyone wants to talk about any of them, or you have any questions or anything, it was really fun looking back through them and I’m kind of nostalgic now. lol
(under a cut bc wow this is long)
End-of-Year Writing Meme for 2016.
Stats
Total Word Count: 144,500 on AO3, but probably about 5k more if you count all the fics on Tumblr. I’m…setting aside the nonfiction. So let’s just say 150k.
Total Completed Fics: 44 on AO3, christ
Ship/character/fandom breakdown:
Just going for the ones on AO3 now, so add several more karabita Tumblr fics and and I think some danganronpa, gravity falls, muppets, and maybe SU? I can’t remember all the non-Osomatsu ficlets I wrote this year. On AO3, though, 34 Osomatsu-san fics, all karabita I think. One also contained Ichimatsu/Xmas Couple and Jyushimatsu/Homura. Two fics for Arsenic and Old Lace, both gen. Two Danganronpa fics, Ishimaru/Mondo and Gundham/Sonia. One Gravity Falls fic, Stan-centric gen. One Scooby Doo fic, gen. One Pokemon Go fic, gen. One The Final Girls fic, Vicki/Gertie. Two Muppets fics, both Bunsen/Beaker. Jeez.
Specifics
Best/worst title?
Best… I had a couple I’m fond of. Probably “The Road Not Taken (Again and Again and Again)”, “Six Sips of Strychnine”, or…god, a lot of these are puns. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that some of the pun ones, like “Fowl Play” and “A Ghost of a Chance” and “The Pokemon Trade” are the best and the worst. I’m also not thrilled with “Love’s Carriers”.
Best/worst summary?
Hmm. Frankly, I don’t think I’m very good at summaries. “There is a difference between living and surviving. Karamatsu hovers between the two.” wasn’t too bad. And both “Karamatsu knows that Chibita is drunk, but it's a little hard to take the moral high road with a hand on his dick.” and “Sometimes when two men love each other very much and one man is kidnapped by some aliens and some [censored] [censored] stuff happens, a beautiful miracle is created.” made me laugh. “Sometimes Karamatsu can see the choices he didn’t make, and ones he’s sure he did.” is probably the best, though.
Worst…uh… Most of them… My summaries are so half-assed. Probably either “Chibita loves his new dog, but Karamatsu is hiding something. (Spoilers: NO, he is not a werewolf, he's just allergic to dogs.)” or “‘Write a fic where [Karamatsu] eats a salad’ That's it, that's the fic.”
Best first line?
Errr. I have a few that make me laugh. “For a long time, Karamatsu had labored under the blissful delusion that he was basically a good person.” (All’s Fair In Love and Blow Jobs), “After being attacked by a horde of vampires, being held captive in their den of villainy, and becoming a denizen of the night himself, Karamatsu understandably had to make a few lifestyle changes.” (Developing A Taste), “There were some times, some crimes, that made Velma seriously consider getting a day job.” (Fowl Play). (That one in particular makes me laugh, but I don’t think most people got the allusion.)
I also think a couple set the mood pretty well, like “It all began with Karamatsu kneeling on Chibita's floor, head pressed to wood and his wings folded tight against his back, the perfect picture of submission.” (Feathers and Favors) or “Karamatsu stared dully ahead, not entirely sure whether it was the steam or the alcohol that was making his vision swim.” (The Road Not Taken)
Honestly, I think most of my opening lines are pretty good, or at least serviceable.
Best last line(s)?
I just closed all my fic windows. ;~; Honestly, most of my last lines are more like last paragraphs, and kind of sum up the themes of the fic. They don’t always work well outside of them… But this one is probably the funniest without context.
"She really was nothing but a giant chicken.” (Fowl Play)
General questions
Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
I wrote far, far more than I expected I would. I wrote almost three times as much this year as I have in all the other years put together on this pseud. (Though actually, I think I did write quite a bit on another pseud last year…?)
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last year?
I MEAN I FEEL LIKE KARABITA WAS THE DARK HORSE. I wasn’t even that into it when I started writing it!! I kind of became more comfortable writing the pairing as I went, and now I have a million ideas. I think it really was like 90% the support I got from the fandom that made me keep writing. Uh, that and personal stress. lol
What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.
Uhh. I think Feathers and Favors is the one that meant the most to me, but I think Like Moving Parts is my favorite. It feels homey to me.
Okay, NOW your most popular story.
GOD haha um probably mouth full of roses, eyes full of stars. I never, ever thought that melodramatic fic would be as popular as it’s become. It was such an experiment. I’m still not really sure why it caught on. Love’s Carriers also shocked me. I wrote both of those fics in such a short period, and I was expecting them to go largely unremarked. And then others I thought would go over well and they were basically ignored. so. Fandom is weird.
Story most underappreciated by the universe?
I REALLY LIKED MY POKEMON AU but I also acknowledge that many of the best parts still remain on my hard drive. God, I need to post the rest of that fic. I guess the Pokemon craze has kind of passed, though…
Life Line, Heart Line wasn’t exactly underappreciated… I was just writing for a fandom of one and I knew it. It wasn’t shocking to me that no one read it, and it was mostly just a short ToT fic so it didn’t sting. (I…learned my lesson about writing really involved fics for minuscule fandoms after I wrote that Sleep No More fic.)
Story that could have been better?
Er… Probably a lot of them, all told. I’m really not very good at writing sex, so probably some of those especially.
Sexiest story?
I…guess probably the sexy rent fic, haha. Though again, I think a lot of the best parts of that are still on my hard drive.
Saddest story?
Errrr… Probably Little Ghost, Little Ghost or the zombie ficlets. Both of them that involve dead halves of my OTP and the other half coping badly, essentially. Or The Devil At The Crossroads, because that one involved suicidal ideation.
Most fun?
Probably the Muppet fics! It’s a fun canon. Or, oh my god, that silly, stupid Scooby Doo fic. I loved it, people loved reading it, it was stupid. It was really fun haha.
Story with single sweetest moment?
Uh.. Frankly, I think I specialize in sweet moments, so this is a bit hard for me. The confession scenes at the ends of Like Moving Parts and Feathers and Favors stand out, but I think most of my readers would pick other moments, lol.
Hardest story to write?
Emotionally, it was Feathers and Favors. I…cried a lot while I wrote that. It touched on some very personal parts of my life. Love’s Carriers probably required the most research. I had to walk to florists haha. The Arsenic and Old Lace fics fought me a lot, largely because of election angst, which is why I ended up writing two. I’m relatively happy with Six Sips, though.
Easiest/most fun story to write?
I had fun with basically every single monster one, hahaha. I have such a type. Paradoxically, I think that Feathers and Favors was also one of the easier ones to write. I wrote so much in such a short period of time, because it just flowed really well. I guess writing it was kind of therapeutic.
Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters?
Honestly, I think I thought a lot more about gag characters than is really right or proper this year. My perceptions changed a lot, and I came to love both Chibita and Karamatsu even more. (Which…is what happened to me when I wrote Beaker last year…)
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Uhh… I mean… I wrote a lot of short, weird little fics this year, but largely in a fandom where I mostly knew I’d have an audience. (But I did worry a lot about alienating said audience, especially after they got used to fluff from me.) The zombie ones were outside of my comfort zone, but everyone was writing zombies so it wasn’t that much of a risk. The Road Not Taken actually was a risk; it was one of my first Osomatsu-san fics and I had no idea how it’d be received.
What are your fic writing goals for next year?
I don’t know… I’d like to finish a few of the karabita WIPs I have on my hard drive, but… It does kind of seem like the fandom for the pairing is dying off, doesn’t it? I still have a lot of stories to tell, but maybe soon I’ll have no one to tell them to… So maybe one of my goals should be finding a new fandom, too, huh? I tend to hunker down when I find a pairing I really like, but I often stay long after the audience has moved on, which just leads to frustration. Sometimes I look at the karabita AO3 tag and feel kind of embarrassed because I’ve written such a large percentage of the fics that are there, like maybe I’ve glommed onto something dumb too much? But it’s been one of the few fun things in a terrible year, so oh well, whatever. Still, branching out a bit couldn’t hurt.
I’d also like to write more of my ideas for original fic, though I’ll admit I find that very… large. My origific ideas have a habit of getting away from me, and then they’re too big and I get overwhelmed and set them aside. I should probably give them a chance to grow, though. I have so many f/f ideas, and the world needs more f/f origific.

Chapter 23: Tiki Trouble
Cool Guy
I watched as Rose jumped from tree to tree, practising her magic/energy stuff as she did so, happy to see how quickly she caught on. I’m sure a few hours ago she probably didn’t even know this was a possibility, and now here she was, skilled enough to catch herself if she came close to falling. It wasn’t much, sure, but it was definitely more than I could do. Her movements were shaky, but stable, where mine would just be shaky, and result in falling. It felt good to have another person I cared about so much be part of this new experience I had found, even if it now meant another person at risk of… whatever could happen, giant killer bugs or wild animals, or something. She jumped down in front of me, straightening herself up as she used a hand to wipe the sweat off her brow and brush her now-slightly untidy hair back behind her ears.
“Pretty good, huh?” Rose asked me, one side of her mouth turned upwards. “Turns out I remember more stuff I learned in PE than I thought.” She looked down at her hands, red palms from gripping the vines of the trees. It looked fairly painful, though if it was, she didn’t care. “So, what are we gonna do now? Hunt wildlife? Build a shack?” She raised an eyebrow suggestively. “A love shack, baby?” I outwardly groaned, remembering where I’d gotten my habit of making jokes involving song lyrics from.
“You need to be stopped from making jokes.” I said, staying on the rock I was sat on. We weren’t far from the clearing that we’d entered upon travelling to this world, and considering everyone ran off without even thinking about how we’d meet up, I had the feeling staying here would be a smart choice. This did however come with the caveat of having absolutely nothing to do. “You know, we could just relax for a bit. The group’s been on our feet for like… the better part of a few days, save for sleeping and eating. It’s really cool, but man, it’s tiring.” I admitted, and Rose sat down next to me, resting herself against me and putting her head on my shoulder.
“Yeah, I guess you didn’t really get a break when everyone else did, what with the whole… exercise thing.” She said playfully, causing me to forcefully exhale through my nose.
“Well, you’ve successfully managed to make me jealous of people who haven’t had sex, and I’m not sure whether that’s an achievement or not.” Rose hopped to her feet, holding my hand and attempting to pull me to my feet after I finished speaking, which I resisted.
“You can’t tell me you’re not excited though, can you?” She spun around, taking in everything around her. “I mean, come on, I’m full of energy just being here! Imagine all the cool shit we could find!” She came up close again, almost as if she was trying to use her mind to will me to my feet.
“I gotta say, I missed your particular brand of manic pixie dream girl, Rose.” I said, slowly standing up as she flipped me off.
“Hey, I’ve got depth like you wouldn’t believe. Any writer would be lucky to have me as their protagonist.” Rose said, in an alarming display of self-awareness. “In fact, you should write about me. Rose Kenton, the Slayer of Worlds.”

And now I see where the inspiration to write a chronicle of our lives came from.
Cool Guy
Hey, it was a fun idea.
“Okay maybe it would need some work to not feel dumb.” Rose admitted, and I just sighed, leading her back to the clearing. “Maybe something like Rose Kenton, the… I dunno, what would my descriptor be?” She asked me as I sat back down on another rock, meaning that overall nothing was achieved except for a change of scenery.
“How about Rose Kenton, the girl with a world-weary boyfriend?” I offered, but she was already lost in her own mind thinking of other things and didn’t acknowledge me, which gave me ample time to look around the area without worrying about her. The area was perfectly rounded, with two rocks parallel to each other and directly in the middle, which was definitely out of place in terms of what would have normally been found in a jungle. It looked more like an arena rather than a random clearing, but it was where we showed up. Despite knowing that the worlds we travelled to weren’t video games anymore, I still wondered what the context of an area like this would have been in a video game. An arena? A meeting point? Surely the others, who’d played the game, would have known more than I did, yet if it was anything noteworthy to them, they didn’t feel it was worth sharing with the less-knowledgeable people. God damn it, I was getting so bored out of my mind that I was seriously contemplating the purpose of a clear area and rocks. I was almost positive that I would have bashed my brains in with the exact rock that I was staring at, had Rose not let out a yell from my left. I immediately jumped up, almost relishing the chance to get to do something as I drew my sword, and quickly stopped as I realised what she was looking at. It was hard to say for certain what they were, but they were definitely small creatures, with wooden masks and spears. The stereotypical tiki people, I gathered from their looks, but then, they were definitely… odd. Some of them had spears, sure, but others wielded other weapons, like rocks, sticks, and a gun. That gun was definitely the one that stuck out like a sore thumb, as much dangerous as it was an anachronism. One of the tikis looked at another, babbling something in a language that I was unable to understand.
“Uhh… CG, I don’t really know how to function in a situation like this.” Rose said, mirroring my exact thoughts. “What are they?” She asked, glancing sideways towards me, not wanting to take her eyes off of them.
“I mean, they look like tiki people, right? Maybe that’s what they are.” I said, unsure of myself. One of the tikis looked at me and wiggled his head rapidly, causing jewellery on his mask to clink together.
“Yeah, okay, but you know that tiki culture isn’t really a jungle thing, right?” Rose said, still not taking her eyes off of them. “It’s a completely different thing… that I’ve forgotten entirely, but I know it’s not a jungle thing.”
“Right, well, don’t tell them that, because they look a little bit temperamental and I think the last thing we need is to be stabbed by pointy sticks.” I said, causing Rose to glance back at me again, as if she was about to say something, which was cut off by another yell from the tiki. This time, however, it was different, because I was actually able to understand it.
“Destroyer!” The main tiki said, pointing at me with a gnarled finger. “Destroyer enemy! Onbalow friend!” I went to say something, but then the words they used actually sunk in, and it hit me how odd it was.
“Well… shit me.” I said, more to myself than to anyone else. If nothing else, this race of creatures with strange weapons knowing about a fictional being from another dimension entirely was definitely weird. The tikis began to advance towards me, except for the gun one, who just aimed at me. “Wait, wait! I’m not the Destroyer! I’m friends with the Onbalow!” I yelled quickly, knowing that it was pretty much in vain. They definitely didn’t understand that much.
“Onbalow friend! Destroyer enemy!” The tikis yelled almost in unison, and I knew that if I didn’t do something soon, I’d be screwed.
“CG, what did you do to piss these guys off?” Rose asked, having stepped to the side as they continued to advance towards me, forcing me to begin taking steps backwards.
“For once in my life, I don’t know how I’ve made someone this angry!” I replied, still unsure whether or not I should try attacking or just continue to back away. “What do I do?” I asked desperately, even though if I continued to run, the only issue there would be that I was running away, not anything else.
“Uhh… put away your sword! Maybe that’s what they’re calling you the destroyer for!” Rose offered, and I listened to her, sheathing it and looking between the tikis in the hope that they would see it and react in some way. And react, they did.
“Haha! Scared Destroyer!” One of them yelled, clueing me in that it was definitely not the sword, and also hurting my dignity a little.
“What if they hate your leather jacket?” Rose said from the sidelines, and I sighed deeply, giving her a sideways glance as I took it off exasperatedly. Of all the things it wasn’t going to be, I had a feeling my jacket was high on the list.
“Alright then, I’ll just take everything off, maybe then they’ll piss off!” I said, before taking off my sunglasses, throwing them to the side, and beginning to take off my t-shirt. When I managed to pull my head through, throwing it behind me as I did so, I saw that the tikis had stopped advancing. Either I had confused them a lot by basically stripping half-naked, or Rose had been right somehow. The weapons began to lower, as one advanced a few steps further as if to take a look at me. There was a long, awkward silence, as I realised exactly how cold this jungle had been. The tiki at the front shook his head in the same way his friend had, causing all of them to do the same, making it sound as if I was in a very large man’s pocket with some loose change. Rose took this time to jog over to me, looking me up and down and then glancing at them.
“What’d you do?” She asked after a moment, looking at me again, as if I would magically have knowledge of what was going on in these little guys’ heads.
“Again, I have no idea. In fact, I’m starting to question a lot of stuff.” The tikis were still making noise, whooping and hollering as they seemed to inexplicably start partying in a show of very confusing happiness. “Why did they know about stuff from another game? And what were the chances that it’d be from a game that we’d already visited?” I made a mental note to ask Tabitha if there was some way that there could have been overlap from when we travelled here, flinching every so often as the tiki with the gun fired it into the air in celebration a few times.
“Do we really have the time to question that? You’re alive, so we should probably focus on that.” Rose bent over, grabbing my clothes and chucking them at me. “I have a feeling you’re probably safe to at least put a shirt on. As much as I like you, the glass cutters don’t really need to be on display right now.” I could feel myself blushing as I pulled my jacket back on, finishing with a flourish of my hand as I put my sunglasses back on.
“You saviour!” One of the tikis said to me, finally acknowledging me. “You come!” I glanced over to Rose, unsure if I should listen to the small man telling me to follow him.
“Well actually, I used to be, but-” I was able to get halfway through my dirty joke before Rose smacked me on the back of my head. “Okay, yeah, I’m coming.” A few moments passed as we begun walking, before I heard Rose giggle from behind me.
“Not the first time I’ve heard that today.”
Tabitha
While those two were flirting and having fun, I had set a jungle on fire.
