i'm so disappointed. so much for this being a safe, apolitical space. plaidos has done irreperable harm to me and my transmasc brothers and to see a DROPOUT GIMMICK BLOG reblogging her baseless and clearly incorrect accusations proven by literally just KNOWING about dropout. but instead, you've made your blog an unsafe place for anyone who isn't a white transfem by showing you're in agreeance with plaidos.

Updated submission guide!

Hello, and welcome to wikipediapictures! This blog is not run by a bot; I am a human, and I select every photo and tag each post that you will see here (except submissions). Part of what helps me run this blog and continue posting content is your submissions and suggestions. Because I love to see what you guys can find in the vast collections of Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia articles, I have created this new and improved submission guide!

If you read all this and decide it's too much work, that is A-okay! You can always shoot me an ask with a topic or article title that you'd like me to post from. Now, with all of that out of the way, let's get started.

1. Choose an image

Maybe you want to contribute, but you don't have a specific image in mind and aren't quite sure what to look for. Not to worry, there are plenty of ways to find something you like! If you have an image picked out already, perfect--you can skip past the next 3 bullet points.

Wikipedia Main Page - This is a great place to start! There are a variety of daily topics and images that can help spur your imagination ("Today's featured picture", "On this day", "Did you know...", etc.) Just click on one and start exploring!

Wikipedia app (Google Play and iOS) - Wikipedia's app is great for reading and has a variety of features that are designed to help you explore new content. In particular, the "Random Article" feature located on the homepage will help you discover topics, people, and places that you have probably never heard of before. Personally, this is my favorite feature to use when I'm not feeling particularly imaginative, and I utilize it a lot when I'm mass-queueing posts.

Wikimedia Commons - Just searching Commons is great when you basically know what you're looking for but haven't decided on anything specific. Or maybe you find an article on a topic that really interests you, but it doesn't have pictures or the pictures aren't good examples of the topic. Chances are, searching Commons for the subject you want will get you some great results. Some of the best posts I have here are photos that I (or my followers) found by just searching Commons until I saw something I liked!

Before moving on, please check if I have posted your photo before! Statistically it isn't very likely, as there are nearly 100 million photos on Commons, but I have posted many photos from popular articles and commonly searched categories. I tag pretty aggressively, so you should be able to find what you are looking for by utilizing the search function on my blog. For example, if you wanted to submit an image from the Wikipedia article titled "Moon", searching that keyword on my blog will get you these results.

I reserve the right to not post any submissions that I recieve. I haven't had to veto anything yet, but as a rule I won't post any overtly sexual or NSFW content.

2. Saving your photos from Wikimedia Commons

No matter where you found your image, you will need to save the original file that is hosted on Wikimedia Commons. I know this is a bit confusing, but bear with me! Chances are, the photo you see in the article has been compressed. By going back to the source file on Commons, you can save the highest resolution version and locate the photo description that was posted with it, which you will need for the next steps. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to do that on desktop/mobile browser and the app.

If you found your photo by searching Commons, just click/tap the "More details" button located at the very bottom of the expanded view of your image and follow steps 3-4.

Desktop/mobile browser:

1. Go to your article of choice and left-click or tap on the image you wish to use.

2. Left-click or tap on the "More details" button on the bottom right hand side of the page. On the mobile site it will just say "Details".

3. You are now viewing the file preview. Underneath the image, left-click or tap on the link that says "Original file" (highest resolution).

4. You are now viewing the full-resolution Wikimedia Commons file. Right-click or hold down on the image to save it to your computer/camera roll. You can now move on to the next section!

App (I have iOS, but it should be the same on Android OS):

1. Go to your article of choice and tap on the image you want.

2. Tap or double-tap the information icon in the bottom right hand corner (circle with a lowercase “i” inside it). After this point, the steps are the same as 3-4 in the section above.

3. Formatting your submission

So you have a photo you want to submit, perfect! Now's the time to format your post. Start by opening a new submission and selecting your chosen photo fom your computer or phone camera roll. Take a quick look at what I have on my blog and you will notice a pattern of how I like to format things. There are a few important parts to consider: the caption title, the link, image description, and tags.

Caption title: if you are submitting a photo you sourced from an article, the post caption should be the title of the article. If the photo is not in an article, just use the file title that you see on Commons. Here is an example of a photo sourced from an article, and here is an example of a photo sourced from Commons. You might ask, "Well, why not just link everything from Commons if they all originate there?" The main reason is that I like providing context, which is what referencing the article does. Most photos on Commons arent in any articles, so there isn't an alternative.

Link: Same as with the caption, if you are sourcing from an article, link the article. If you are sourcing from Commons, link back to Commons. Please view the source links for the two posts I just mentioned in the previous bullet point to see what I mean.

Description: ALWAYS use the description from the original file as it appears on Wikimedia Commons, regardless of where you sourced the image. This is because an image description in a Wikipedia article can be changed to anything the editor wants independently of what the original file description said, and oftentimes those descriptions are wrong. You can find this description under the image when you are viewing the file on Commons; just copy and paste the description into the body of the submission underneath the linked caption and finish it off with " - via Wikimedia Commons". If this description is the same as the file title or only slightly different (like in the moon post linked above) feel free to leave it out.

Tags: You don't have to tag with relevant tags if you don't want to, though it definietly helps. The automatic tags are sufficient and you've already contributed a lot just by choosing to submit!

Headcanons | Paul Lahote | You're Paul's SO and Neurodivergent

A/N: Hello! I thought this would be a great way to introduce myself to tumblr! I am currently writing a slow burn Paul Lahote Fic but to engage with the Twilight Fandom more I decided to do this! This is new territory for Paul so he does what he does best- panics, gets irritated that he's panicking; get's angry when he can't calm down; goes for a run before finally, finding himself sitting at a library computer (in that order).

He sits at the library for hours researching before he's got a notebook of information on neurodivergence and enough questions for you to find it endearing.

He also takes out a few books written by people with ASD and ADHD and reads them front to back before skimming through them again to take notes.

When you get back home he's ready and puts you in the hot seat.

By the end he knows the normal stuff like favourite foods, animal and colours but also the textures you avoid, your quirks, your favourite fidget toys, what makes you overstimulated; everything that makes you tick.

You woke up the next morning to Paul ripping the tags off all your clothes, letting you know he's ordered new pillows for the living room to replace the velvet ones; he also got reusable cotton pads for the bathroom.

He keeps a hairband on his wrist for when your hair tickles your neck and causes your tick*

Paul also ordered some special ear plugs. He gets multiple- one for your backpack, one for his car's glove compartment and one pair to have on his person.

Paul also asked what your favourite fidget toys are and did the same as the earplugs.

Paul got you matching keyrings with the same fidget toy attached. His is black and yours is your favourite colour.

Paul knows a diary, schedule or to-do list doesn't work with you. He makes household tasks sound like a secret Pack mission, he makes chores fun.

Paul makes sure to put post-its about the house, sets your reminders on his own phone and reminds you gently. He knows you getting annoyed at the reminders isn't personal.

He double (more like triple) checks his notebook before he gets you something.

All his gifts have something to do with your special interest

Any clothes he gets you have tags removed and washed with your favourite detergent before he gift wraps them.

Paul is more than prepared for a break down, he doesn't try to touch you during those.

He knows not to feel rejected when you flinch away or say no to a hug. He just smiles and makes sure not to be too loud or make sudden movements around you.

Paul asked about masking and he could tell you were lying when you said you don't mask around him.

Paul takes you hiking to a secluded place in the forest and phases into a wolf if you've had a bad week. He lets you lay on him and read, just so you can unmask and relax. You find it easier to unmask when he isn't human.

You can go quiet and Paul learns to get comfortable in the silence, silence used to be the calm before the storm, now he sees it as the storm passing by at a distance.

Paul knows you hate touching carboard that's been in the fridge or freezer, after food shopping you find he's opened everything and repackaged it.*

Paul speaks straightforwardly, his communication is clear, especially when it's important or knows you're already overstimulated/overwhelmed.*

When you meet the Pack Paul hates how confused you look when some of the banter goes after your head- he tells you not to force yourself to laugh, says he finds it funny when you don't humour the boys.

The Pack started taking advantage of things going over your head, when Paul pointed it out you shrugged it off because it was only a bit of banter.

Paul pretended to leave it but roughed up the Pack (more than usual) when they were sparring, or would accidentally ram into them while running.

The Pack say he's whipped when they see memories of Paul letting you pet him in wolf form.

At Christmas Jared gets you a pink collar with studs for him, teasing you of course. While you're confused (and distracted) Paul yeets it at Jared's head.

When he gives a gift- of course it's something from your latest hyper fixation.

You get overwhelmed at the Pack's beach hang outs. You are not familiar with everyone's imprints and you get anxious.

You both sit a little away from the Pack and their imprints, silently laying together or drawing in the sand.

Paul always makes sure you're included in the conversation when someone approaches.

He holds you tight in his arms when you're feeling agitated because he knows you like to be squeezed, it grounds you.

Of course, when he found this out he ordered you a weighted blanket.

Paul wants to know everything, all your likes and dislikes- what's safe and what's not.

Paul smiles ear to ear when you tell him he's listed in the "safe" category, he notes it down with a smug expression.

But his face (half-)teasingly drops when you joke he's a close second to your all-time, favourite movie character.

He loves how your mind works, sometimes out of the blue you'll say something so off topic and he'll make you explain where you got that- he's fascinated by it and how easily one thing links to the other.

When the bad days happen he makes sure to just be there, knowing not to touch you- that you just want him by your side.

On those days he makes all your safe foods and separates them on the plate based on your specific eating criteria. He doesn't entirely understand but doesn't tease you for it either.*

He shares your safe food list with Emily because he knows you get embarrassed about eating in public- you used to get teased about how plain and boring it was.*

He goes back to the public library to look up the quiet shopping hours at your favourite stores and what restaurants have your safe foods.

Paul wants to understand everything about you and where it comes from, he fills up one notebook after the after and doesn't let you peek inside.

You try to reason they're all about you so you should get to read them, he still refuses.

The day you finally manage to get a hold of his notebook, you close it after reading the first page. On it is written: "Notebook #3 - everything I know about future Mrs Lahote"

Like, what movies/series with Martin would you recommend me to watch? Up to now I've already watched Breeders, bbc Sherlock and The Hobbit and I'm planning to watch Cargo and The Responder and I think I'll leave Nativity for Christmas 😂

I also meant to ask what are your favourite facts/things about him? Or if you have any headcanons(?) about him.. yk just to get to know more things about him 😂 sorry if it sounds too weird ahah

first of all, congrats to your excellent taste. (on Martin.... and on my blog, I suppose) 😃 And of course, I don't mind.

With Breeders and Sherlock you've already watched my 2 personal favourites. I'll also have to recommend Fargo and The Responder. And The Office (the original version from the UK, he was fantastic in that!). Also, StartUp is worth a watch, even tho Martin's role is not that big. But every scene he is in is automatically 500% better. Small warning: The Shower Scene™ and the Cafecito Scene™ should be illegal. I am more a fan of Martin's tv work, but as movies I really like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Black Panther, Ode to Joy, The World's End. The Hobbit movies as well. I am really looking forward to see Miller's Girl, which should be released at the beginning of next year (February?).

What I like about him? So many things: his love for music and fashion, his sense of humour (often misunderstood, but it's 100% my cup of tea), his thoughts on fame (he hates it), the way he always speaks his mind (which many people see as rude, but I envy how he doesn't give a shit about what other people think about him and his opinions), his hair (😆, i hope it grows back fast once he's done with shooting the 2nd season of The Responder), his looks in general. Just the way he talks: I could listen to him for hours and don't get bored. I don't really have headcanons, I think.

Truly active Martin blogs are rare these days, sadly. Lots of Sherlock blogs around, but blogs dedicated to Martin are hard to find.

Tag guide: #raggedasks = asks, #raggedlore = lore relating to the clan or characters, #raggedmoon = a new moon, and #raggedfan = anything fan-related.

Asks are welcome and encouraged! I'll do my best to answer them in a timely manner. Feel free to ask the characters something or me!

Rules the Clan will be following:

Leaders: The leader will select their mate as the deputy until their eldest kit is able to become deputy. If said kit dies, it passes along to the next kit in line. Leaders are encouraged to choose a mate as soon as possible, and in most cases it isn't out of love, it's mainly to ensure the bloodline continues. If the leader "runs out of kits", their mate will resume the position, or if they have grandkits they will become the deputy.

Deputies: Deputies will usually start as the leaders mate. Once the two cats have kits, their eldest will replace them as deputy once they come of age, however, the leaders mate will be on standby in case they need to resume the position. If a deputy that is the leaders kit has kits of their own, their kits (eldest) will replace them if they die before the leader. If none of these options, the leaders mate will take the role.

Healers: The Healers consist of the Lead Healer and the "regular healers". The lead healer has more power than the deputy and will usually be sought by the leader as a source of information on the happenings in StarClan or if they have any opinions about the happenings in the clan or the other clans. The lead healer works much like the leader. Their eldest kit will take their position regardless of whether the kit trained as a warrior or healer. If the lead healer dies without an heir but has a mate, their mate will be encouraged to take their position. However, if the lead healer has none of this, one of their siblings may take the position (if living) or one of the other healers (though this is a last resort in most cases).

Mediators: The Mediators work much like the Healers, except they don't have their amount of power. They do have a Lead Mediator and the "regular" mediators. The succession of the lead mediator is not something that troubles the clan very much, however, they do prefer the heir to at least be kin of the lead mediator, whether it be a sibling, a cousin, a kit, a grandkit, and so on. The heir also doesn't have to be trained to be a mediator prior to succession. The "regular" mediators can also take the position if absolutely necessary.

All other positions within the clan work the same.

I will occasionally turn on the unknown second parent toggle for a few moons every once in a while, and affairs are always on. When the clan gets larger, I will turn on mass extinction events.

This blog will likely include animal violence, animal death, kit and apprentice death, murder, mentions of blood, illness, and cheating/affairs.

I'm not sure what the schedule of this blog will look like as of now. I'll try to post daily most likely.

If I've gone about a week without responding to our thread, I either lost it, didn't see it, or forgot. It's possible it's in the queue as well, but there's no harm in poking if it's been about a week.

That being said I work full time at a daycare. Odds are I'm dead tired at the end of the day, and way worse at the end of the week, not to mention I live on my own with a fur baby to take care of. I may not always be active, but don't let that deter you from communication.

I will often write canon events from the Muse's POV. While these will be tagged, they will be linked in the bio as well. This way the bios won't get too long, and those who would like to read the embellishments of these canon events can do so with ease.

Please communicate. Plot with me, talk to me, my muses often thrive off of talking to people and gaining ideas.

Most of these muses are OCs. Please don't tell me you're OC friendly or that you want to interact with them if you don't. It's so mentally and emotionally draining to see a blog say "OC friendly," only to shoot message after message and ask after ask to be rejected, and ignored. These are not self inserts: they are characters with different likes, interests, nuances, hobbies, motivations, fears, accomplishments, and relationships. I've put years of thought into their stories, designs, and relationships for some of them, but you'll never see them if you don't give them the chance and it hurts. You don't have to give them a chance, but don't lie to me if you're not interested.

I thrive off angst, but if I go to far with it, or am doing angst too often in our threads for your liking, bring it to my attention bc I often get over excited about it.

I am a mobile user primarily. Due to my ADHD, I find that running blogs on mobile is much easier and leads to more activity.

That being said, this will likely be a queue operated blog unless I have a thread that particularly piques my interest.

Some themes on this blog may get intense. I will tag as needed but this blog may contain subject matter of: parental death, missing family, familial death, existential dread, homophobia, creepy men, childhood abuse, parental violence (not towards the children), SIDS, child loss, parental neglect, child labor, manipulation and deception, loss. If you need anything specifically to be tagged, do not hesitate to reach out to me. And no, these are not all Mother 3 related.

Please also understand my characters are not all good and not always good. They are flawed and will make mistakes, say the wrong thing, or make poor choices. This does not mean I support their decisions all the time. (Hell, I think most of them are kids so that goes double for them)

This also goes for Centaur Man with Knight Man. Just because he was in a relationship on my blog in his past does not mean that it has to be canon to your Knight Man/still in a relationship with him. If you're interested in shipping, reach out to me and we can whip up some lore for our personal canon.

I'm a slut for shipping- but if the characters is like 12 I'm not shipping them with a 16 year old. For my younger muses, the ages have to be similar. If I add a new muse that's under 10 in the future, they will be exempt from shipping completely.

This should go without saying: but I will not be shipping family members, or adults with minors. No this is not up for debate, and if you ask about it, you will be blocked and reported. And yes: this does apply to Medley.

Speaking of robots: I will not be shipping robots with humans. It's a slippery slope that I don't want to touch, especially if I add certain characters later on down the line.

Between now and Kick off.

So after enrolling and getting accepted to the the course it's been almost totally radio silence. On the main site you'll get these "tasks" to complete, be aware that you will not get a notice there are things for you to do. Be aware you'll need to manually use the check boxes for these items they dont auto fill.

First you'll have the "Awaiting" tasks where you will be asked to "Join a program prep event" the only option I had for this was over two months away. My "cohort" (Merit America's term for their style of semester) starts April 8th but the next Prep Event is the end of May. The other thing you're asked to do is Get familiar with G-Suite tools. They provide a video for you to watch which goes over the basics but if you're proficient with Microsoft Office you'll have the basics for G-Suite. The only difference I can see between Word and Docs is that Docs is a very minimalist version of Word.

The next set is the "Preparing" task, where you'll be asked to select which squad meeting time you want. Depending on the time will dictate who you get for a coach, keep in mind that the times offered are on eastern time. Also once you pick one you'll only have 24 hours to change it before it's locked in. This seems to be set up so that when you're selecting you're giving more consideration to the time that works best for you rather then trying to pick the coach you think you may want.

The last section is "Start" Where you'll register for the kick off event you WILL get an email to RSVP to this when the option is available, but that email still doesn't tell you to check your MA account or mention anything else you need to do for prep. Once you've registered you'll see you have three more tasks. First to "Log into the Learner Portal, Coursera, and Slack" which they say are mandatory but you dont actually have the links to log in yet, so you'll have to wait. The next is "Join our tech platform orientation" This is optional which is good because you'll mostly see a notice saying 'Your tech orientation link is not yet available or you have incomplete tasks on a previous step. Please complete any previous tasks and check back soon!' Which if you've been following along this then yeah you've completed everything up to this point and it's now just a waiting game. Last but not least you'll be asked to 'Get familiar with using the Learner Portal for assignments' which will have a due date on it. I think this one might be the stupidest thing I've seen because you literally can NOT access the Learner Portal (which again is their name for Canvas) at this point. They have not provided you your login credentials.

All of this can be done in a couple hours, so enjoy the wait until the kick off events rolls around, and remember you'll be in radio silence until then. To help prevent you from checking your email or Merit America site incessantly for the next few days-weeks-months, start a window garden, binge a series (resident alien is good), read a book series (I can recommend several of those). Maybe start a blog or TikTok diary about your journey! Which if you do that, tag me!! I want to know if some of these issues are just me being stupid or if its a universal issue.
