#if not jail literally then some extreme punishment right

I just realized that in current fandom (internet) parlance when people say “go to therapy” (haha semi ironic but really they’re bullying someone about their preferences) what they mean is “go to jail” (haha semi ironic but really they want you to experience personal distress and/or social punishment).
good to know I never have to give a fuck about THAT again
#it's not that insane for fandom brain poisoned people to take the position#'this ship should get you jail time bc it's a thought crime'#when socially we are basically sending people to jail for thought crimes#if not jail literally then some extreme punishment right#anyway new thesis the rise of puritanical fandom coincides with the authoritarian shift in global politics#associated stuff you know what i'm talking about

ppl who are talking shit about the manga just because Endeavor is not in jail and the others still talk to him -what are you even talking about?
Some people already talked about how relatable this is for Asian families and the society that punishes in any case victims more than abusers -but also, this is really common in other contexts too. Idk who is able to just get a whole family to agree on punishing the father, of all of the members (usually the one that holds the most power, emotionally and economically), and start the whole process to get him to go jail. Who thinks this is so easy?
Dabi expected to change the way people saw his father by exposing him, but as we saw, people still consider him a hero and admire him, and in any case people were criticizing his inability to control his kid. Are we not reading the same manga? Their society is literally trying to be the same as it was, because thats what the status quo does. You think a war or two change what is considered good in a system? You think the cycle could just stop so easily? That society doesnt support abusers, especially when the one who exposes it is "the villain" accusing "the greatest hero"? Or you even think, in a micro level, that its easy to cut ties with your abusers, especially when they tell you they want to change for the better?
Family is extremely important in many, many cultures, to the point that is a relevant point to bring up in political discussions -the familial structure just changing a little bit is considered reason enough to vote the far right. Women are still shamed collectively for getting divorced, labelled as bad mothers, bad women, inhuman. Kids not talking to their parents says worse things about the victims than the abusers. Why wouldn't you talk to them, after everything they have done for you? Why wouldnt you, when you owe them your whole existence?
And you are here, expecting a divorce, everyone going no contact, Endeavor in jail and everyone all of the sudden thinking they should get into other people's privacy -because getting abused, hurt, etc, at large, is considered a personal problem, that you should resolve on your own without involving others.
Because thats what its normalized, not acting when people need help. That's the whole point.
Everything will be the same. Except it just can't.
And its worthy to show the how to start getting there, than pretending things would change just like that..
We are living with the rising of the new far right trying to get votes, multiple genocides while the military tries to recruit using tiktok, AI and cute girls, multiple countries maintaining slavery systems and models, accelerated exploitation of nature, people and life in general, climate change and covid deniers getting in power... And you think a war and the exposure of abuse would change a society and social system in that way?
No, the change doesnt come from magic, just like that, but thru action and organization. Im hoping the next chapters can show us how Izuku feels about most people pretending everything is fine when he cant agree.
#grrr talking#slightly bnha spoilers#I guess?#if you have abusive family members and could easily do that good for you#really#but its not the case for so many people#things are so much more complicated#im tired of people thinking this has an easy solution#and also#not all victims feel the same way about their abusers#or some they hate them#others are neutral#others prefer to ignore them#others love them#I appreciate how dabi has still more complicated feelings about it too than just “I hate him and im over it”#he wishes it was that simple#but its not

Extremely specific neurodivergent curtwen headcanons that crack me like an egg:
ADHD Agent Mega is practically fan canon at this point, but I feel like we focus on him being bored & fidgeting more than other ADHD issues. Like I imagine so much of his macho guy bluster is 1. from being gay in a homophobic society, but also 2. From Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. I dunno, something about the way he gets so flustered and defensive when people criticize him (which happens constantly)?
I've been thinking about maybe Curt being dyslexic? Like maybe he doesn't read briefings because they're already difficult to focus on, but also they're literally difficult to read? He mixes up information no matter how hard he tries. He's learned to stop trying and pretend he's just too cool for that nerd shit, but whenever someone gives him a hard time for screwing up he takes it really really personally? He has big emotional outbursts, which is especially tough as a closeted gay man in the 1950s-1960s
I have a lot of headcanon about autistic Owen Carvour, but it's kinda weird because he's canonically the villain of SAF, and that tends to stray uncomfortably into "he was always a monster" OR "the fall made him into a monster." So with autistic Owen headcanon it veers too close to saying that being autistic made him a monster (yikes, no) or that becoming disabled (no way in hell he doesn't have chronic pain issues after all that) made him a monster (also yikes, no).
So for me, the way that I frame it is like... okay so Owen is literally masking in the show, but I think about what that says about him that one of the major details we know about him is that he is very good at pretending to be other people. I'm a heavily masked autist myself, so this really resonates with me. With autistic men there are some very specific stereotypes like math, bad at social interaction, etc. But I think Owen would have a profile more stereotypically attributed to women: being hyper aware of everything around him, using "movie talk" or just remembering interactions with others and having a script. I don't know how to explain it exactly, but it's like you enter a situation and you can more or less suss out what people are expecting from you in that situation, so you just flip through your mental rolodex of phrases and deliveries and ways to stand and hold your face that align with their expectations of you. You become adept at blending in.
I would fully believe that Owen reads every briefing multiple times and has charts and diagrams, and maybe before the fall part of why he does that is that he knows Curt is a talented agent but just struggles with that part of the job, and Owen feels protective of him. Like he gets that Curt is impulsive and feels the need to be a counterweight to that. It feels like Curt blocks out information and takes in stimuli, and Owen blocks out stimuli but takes in as much info as humanly possible.
Then there's all the villain shit obviously. This is extreme headcanon territory, but one part of being autistic is what they call the "autistic sense of justice." That absolutely does not mean that autistic people have some preternatural ability to be eternally on the right side of history, we all have our individual identities and experiences coloring what we consider "justice," but just on a personal level being autistic and becoming disabled radicalized me. It led to me becoming anti-capitalist & anti-imperialist. It drastically changed my perception of right and wrong because I had to interrogate my own understanding of power, the way the concept of "crime" is created (like you get jail time for shoplifting, but your boss doesn't get punished at all for stealing money out of your paycheck).
I've already done ridiculous long posts about the political stuff, but I do think that an autistic person, especially one who has gone through a massive trauma, might come through it with a new understanding that the US/UK governments are actually pretty awful, that ignorant brutes shouldn't be in charge of politics and information.
I dunno I probably have more but I've already dumped too much here

YES!!! Say it louder for the dumbasses in the back!
Like, do I like it when a villain gets a redemption arc? Absolutely!
But a key part of that is the villain acknowledging that they did wrong & not only others holding them accountable, but themselves holding themselves accountable!
As much as I love Steven Universe, I hate that Rose is seen so badly while the rest of the Diamonds are forgiven & don't have to face any real consequences!
Admittedly, I think that part of the reason why they had to get away with it was because they were too powerful to realistically be punished. But that doesn't mean that I like it!
And dear heavens, DO NOT get me started with effing Undertale! I will effing rant for so long about the sheer hypocrisy of the message until I get a freaking headache!
Now, I love Asgore, but it's because I understand what the motivation was. I understand that the call to genocide was a grief reaction & then he kept it up, not because he wanted to, but to give his people hope.
Does that make it okay? HELL NO!!
But I get it & the reason why I am so willing to forgive him despite the absolutely heinous crime he committed. Despite the fact that he is basically a serial killer & a planned terrorist.
Is because he admits outright, fully, & completely that it was wrong & apologizes. And in certain endings, even backs it up.
If you do a neutral run & kill Flowey, if you go back & fight Asgore again, he literally offers up his soul so that Frisk can leave the Underground.
When you fight him, he is straight to the point & incredibly solemn.
Everything about him tells me that this choice to do what he did? He did not want to do it. That he legitimately believed that it was the only way to free his people & as the king, it fell upon his shoulders to do everything he could for them. Because that was his responsibility.
Yet, he does not pretend that it is some good thing, he acknowledges that it was a necessary evil that he would not have done if he saw any other way around it.
And he holds himself accountable for his actions.
Now, that doesn't mean that I'm okay that he got away scot free! In all honesty, I'd prefer it if not only him, but every monster that called for genocide & who tried to kill Frisk, I wish that they'd all been tried in a court of law for the attempted genocide that they planned. That they all be found guilty & subsequently jailed.
And they make sure that each & every one of them are under no illusions about why that is.
But they aren't.
All of the blame is put solely upon Asgore & that isn't right. The rest range from complicit, to conspirators, to attempted murderers, if not outright murderers themselves!
Yet none of them are held accountable!
The fact that they conspired to kill children & later to commit genocide is never acknowledged. They just get their happily ever after.
Not once do they acknowledge that what they were doing, what they planned to do, was wrong!
And very few times is it brought up in the fandom just how horrifying this experience must've been for Frisk! How traumatizing it must've been!
Man, the thought of dying is terrifying FOR ADULTS & this poor kid is living it constantly on repeat!
Where are the fics focusing on the existential dread of Frisk's existence? What about the fics going into the nuance of their behavior where someone notices trauma bonding & abuse victim behavior & extreme PTSD??
At the very least, Steven Universe acknowledges that the things that Homeworld & the Diamonds did & were planning to do, were evil.
Undertale just sweeps that shit under the rug for the sake of a happy ending.
This is why I am willing to forgive Steven Universe, because the fact that what they did being wrong wasn't ignored. I am also able to acknowledge that there was no reliable way to punish them as the Diamonds are the literal top of the food chain with no one above them, so the only real way to stop them is to find some way to shatter them, which as far as anyone knows in the show, is not possible. Or to rehabilitate them.
I don't like it, but it was the only real, viable option available to them given the information available.
However, I can't forgive Undertale for its bs pacifistic platitudes about how kids shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves against people trying to kill them & use their soul to kill all humans. A game that paint the monsters as "good" & never let's its characters take accountability for their actions.
One thing I do not like about Steven Universe, is the continued wailing that PD's name took.
Yes, she did a butt-load of bad things, but what a lot of people are forgetting is that the series starts with her at her best & ends on seeing her at her worst. That those terrible things took place thousands of years ago & that she'd changed in that time.
That she genuinely regretted her actions & did damn near everything in her power to make up for it within her understanding at the time. FOR 6,000 YEARS!!!
Do I think that she should've told the Crystal Gems the truth herself, especially before it got so twisted?
Yes, absolutely!
But I also understand that she was very messed up in the head & was doing the best she could at the time.
That doesn't make it okay, but I understand it.
So, really, I'm more so upset at the fans for demonizing her while letting the actual genocidal maniacs off!
this was originally targeted at blizzard but you know what? forgetting the importance of narrative in grey morality seems to have become a trend.
also i don’t know how to tilt the text in ms paint send help

Religion is child abuse and Im sick of being told to respect others beliefs via /r/atheism
Religion is child abuse and I’m sick of being told to “respect others beliefs” I really don’t care anymore if it comes off as extreme but as I get older I feel like I resent religion more and more and anybody who believes in it. After being raised in religion and going through 2 episodes of religious trauma induced mental health episodes I’m so glad to be FREE (by the way haven’t had any religious anxiety or mental health issues for 8 years. Best life has been)! At first when I left religion (Christianity) I had a mild attitude about it. I still had some love for the people and the church even if I didn’t associate with it anymore. Slowly that dwindled….the more and more I thought about it from the outside looking in now, the more fucked up I can see it truly is. I can now confidently say I believe that it is child abuse because kids really have no say in the matter and are automatically vulnerable to the adults around them when putting them into religion. The idea of hell damnation and punishment to perfectly good people just because they don’t believe is all kinds of fucked up. Not to mention the sexism, patriarchy, misogyny, and homophobia that they spew. I just remember the religious anxiety of hell that i felt even before I reached double digits. And that continued into my early teens. Literally got so bad I was too afraid to go into a car because I thought if I crash I might go to hell (it’s not even that I didn’t believe at the time it’s just that I didn’t feel I was good enough or had intrusive thoughts about somehow not really believing). Literally had nightmares about the rapture. Now that it’s all behind me I truly realize I didn’t deserve to suffer like that. No child should suffer like that. And that’s why I think it’s child abuse. I almost laugh now looking back because it’s like wow, I was that stressed over something that was totally fake and baloney. And the adults around me were endorsing it. I’m not saying there wasn’t good moments with religion (I had good times at church camp ) but none of that matters when you start thinking of your own mortality. To my next rant, I hate it when non believers tell me I should respect religious peoples views. Idgaf when religious people say this because I don’t take them seriously anyway, what really irks me when the NON believers have to say this shit to seem neutral and come off as “uwu let’s understand each others differences🥺🥺” like first of all NO. Hard NO. Why should I respect the people that believe in a religion that is BY THE BOOK homophobic, sexist, patriarchal and all other kinds of fucked up???? As James Baldwin said “We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist.” Religion inherently is oppressive to queer people also and by design breeds homophobic people. I want no parts in respecting such people. Too many people are too fucking obsessed with respecting shitty beliefs to appear neutral . It’s cowardly in my opinion. Also I’m not saying I’m a fucking genius but I truly believe people who aren’t religious just automatically have a leg up over religious people in terms of who’s smarter. Like if you are over the age of 18 and still believe this bullshit ….girl I’m sorry but I hope you break free of that jail!! Maybe I sound too hateful but I love my non religious friends and deconverted siblings. We’re free of the prison of shame, guilt and anxiety . I just don’t want other kids to go through that. Rant over lol Submitted August 25, 2024 at 03:22AM by BigTimeSocalist (From Reddit https://ift.tt/QekoPg1)

The motorcycle saga behind our apartment building seems to have ended.
It has NOTHING to do with me, but has been weirdly stressing me out (lol hi OCD).
The maintenance folks at our complex have a storage container in the parking lot for…maintenance things (?) and the motorcycle was parked in the spot in front of the door.
The office sent out a complex-wide email saying the motorcycle needed to be moved or it would be towed. Which immediately set my “that’s not right” meter off.
It’s a parking spot. There’s nothing marking it as not for use. It would be kind of fucked up to have your motorcycle towed because you did nothing wrong.
I was also a little concerned because I’d seen a Hispanic man park it there a few days ago. I don’t know him or what apartment he lives in. Where I live there’s a very large Hispanic population and it’s not unusual to run into someone from the community who doesn’t speak English. Literally went into a restaurant across the street yesterday where the server had to go get a Spanish speaking member of the staff to assist a non-English speaking party.
So it would have been EVEN MORE fucked up of the motorcycle owner didn’t speak English, since the email saying it needed to be moved was only provided in English. The county I live in is ~15% Hispanic, so you would THINK stuff like that would be provided in English AND Spanish to residents. Unfortunately we don’t live in a perfect world.
T_T I am just so happy/relieved that they didn’t wind up getting towed.
It is literally none of my business, but my god I hate it when someone follows the rules and still gets in trouble. Not that all rules are meant to be followed and there are definitely fucked up rules out there, but like…why are you going to punish someone who did absolutely nothing wrong?
My husband’s truck got towed a while back when we were visiting his sister. We had to hunt down the company, drive half an hour (WHY DID THEY TOW IT SO FAR), and then pay to get it back all over a misunderstanding on our part of what lot we could park in. It was extremely inconvenient, but it could have been much more so if his sister hadn’t been able to give us a lift, if we’d had somewhere pressing to be, or if we couldn’t have afforded to bail the truck out of car jail.
Like, my god. If you don’t want people parking in front of the container, block the spot or put up some signage or something.

Like, what more do you want? For her to be tossed into a deep dark cell with rats to bring her story to a full traumatic circle? For her to executed when she's permanently has the mind of a child and has literally no idea WHY she's about to be executed?
I'll circle around to that second suggestion in a bit, but for now:
What "more" do I want? What exactly did I - or anyone - get, in the first place?
got long lol under the cut it goes
We have the victims of war blaming themselves for daring to fight back against their violent aggressor, we have those same victims either praise their aggressor for their ~reforms~ or mindlessly believe what they say with no proof, we have the story going out of its way to show the violent aggressor of a needless war to be a good leader because ~look at how bad it gets if they're NOT the one leading~ (looking straight at you AG), we have the aggressor gain a NEW mindless fan squeeing over their every action for specifically this game when they already had two characters who in some way were doing that already (Hubert and Dorothea) - oh gee, there's just so much woe that Edelgard has to go through, as the story, plot, and characters all castrate themselves trying to make her look better, amiright?
Edelgard faces zero repercussions in this game as a result of her enacting war against the Church and Kingdom for their crimes of *checks notes* doing nothing. The Church outright helps her in her efforts to get rid of the corrupt nobles of Enbarr, doing exactly what she requested of them to do down to the letter, and she still declares war on them, forces them out of their home, and chases them down to the Kingdom and goes to war with it for daring to house people who are being wrongly and violently persecuted for no reason.
You suggest her being tossed in a dungeon as if that's some sort of unjust, cruel thing, but frankly I don't care at that point whether the poor uwu warmonger shits herself in fear over rats because of the violent and cruel actions she chose to enact independently of anyone's influence. These circumstances are ridiculously different from when she was an actual innocent child being forcefully experimented on; she's the direct reason countless innocent people have either lost their families, friends, homes, livelihoods, and/or lives. To say she should go without any form of punishment - and harsh punishment at that - just because she has a fear of rats and there might be rats in the jailcell she gets thrown in is laughable. Tough shit, she shouldn't have murdered thousands in a needless war for power if she didn't want to get thrown in jail, and I have no sympathy for her in that regard.
Even in the supposed "bad end" version of the routes, Edelgard gets off hilariously easy. Who do you lose in AG? Rodrigue, a full-on playable character that you could've put actual effort into making into an extremely good/reliable unit, as well as the father/father-figure of Felix and Dimitri and someone whose presence is immensely felt throughout all of AG. Who do you lose in GW? Judith, someone who, while (criminally) not a playable unit, is still someone with a huge presence in the story of GW, and who is deeply connected to Claude on a personal level. Meanwhile on SB you lose fuckin' Randolph, a joe-schmoe nobody whose only purpose in any regard whatsoever is to die and who has literally zero connection to anyone except his similarly joe-schmoe nobody sister. Dimitri loses someone he saw as a father and who he heavily relied on to get through deeply traumatic events, Claude loses the one person he actually actively wanted to reveal being an Almyran prince to (before she put two and two together first, that is), and Edelgard loses... someone who's basically a named NPC for all the investment - personal or otherwise - he's been given.
What more do I want? Literally anything, because right now I have nothing.
But regarding the mind-of-a-child thing.
Given Hopes' obsessive need to relieve Edelgard of any actual responsibility for her actions - how it's Dimitri that started a war with the Empire and how that's bad, how it's Claude who invaded the Empire and how that's bad, while Edelgard is always given the benefit of the doubt despite being the actual aggressor unlike the other two who only fight back against her (at first anyway, in Clyde's case), things like that - her mind being reduced to that of a child's is almost fuckin' poetic, because that's pretty much how the game itself treats her. She's a child making a mess of the kitchen but she meant well and that's all that really matters - it's every else's fault for not walking over the mess well enough! It’s sadly very fitting that the game that treats her with the softest, silkiest kid gloves imaginable ends up literally reducing her to a child in the one route where the player never sides with her.
Because now she “shouldn’t” be punished! Isn’t she going through enough, the poor little dear? It’s just like you mention nonnie; she’s already just gone the absolute ordeal of *checks notes* being put in a situation where she literally can’t be held liable for her horrific, cruel actions she committed before she was Lobotogard. Now any attempt from anyone to do anything to Edelgard regarding the actions she chose to make independent of anyone else will be seen as being “too mean,” because now she’s in a state where she can’t understand the wrongs of what she’s done - she doesn’t even think she’s done them! Her mind is reverted to the time she was lil’ ol’ El with her crush Dee and isn’t that just so sad? Feel bad for Edelgard, not for her victims that she forced into war.
Because, like, think about it. Why was Edelgard lobotomized, instead of just defeated/jailed/executed? Why was mind-control + mind-reversion dark magic pulled out of Hopes’ ass to make Edelgard completely unable to be liable for her actions? In a game where Rhea and Claude can die and TWS can be completely wiped out, showing that Hopes doesn’t really care that much about keeping other main important characters on the table? Why not just simply have Edelgard imprisoned - not even killed, not even executed, just placed in prison for omega murder? Even Claude, for as mindlessly the Deer eventually follow him once Clyde switcheroos with him in GW’s Part 2, gets some form of pushback from them initially (...for inconveniencing Edelgard by killing Randolph + other Imperial generals and not for fucking over Faerghus, that is, but it’s still anything), and like I said, he can actually die for doing certain things (...that certain thing being betraying Edelgard on SB’s bad end, but again, it’s literally anything), which is much more than can be said for Edelgard.
Because honestly, I think it’s because the game really didn’t want her to actually face the consequences of her actions. The only thing that happens to her is her being in a state that sad to see... for others. For Edelgard herself, she’s just a confused kid - she’s not living with the guilt of her actions, she’s not facing any real justice for what she’s done, there’s no acknowledgement on her end - or even any ability to acknowledge - all that she’s done. And for fuck’s sake, she wasn’t even put in this state because of the bad shit she did; she was put in this state because she was helping Dimitri fight Thales. This isn’t a result of her killing who knows how many people for a war that’s literal only purpose was to expand her influence over all of Fodlan, in her own words even in this game - she got this standing up against the real bad guy, which definitely isn’t her. Nothing like the loss of a loved one, or dying yourself, and nothing that results directly from her killing innocent people to expand her power.
So basically what I want is for the aggressor of a needless war that’s killing innocent people to face any actual consequence for doing the shit she does, for other characters who are literally being victimized by her to stop going on about how “well maybe she’s not that bad” when she’s ruining their and their people’s lives, and for the game to not place her in a state where it’s almost completely impossible for anyone to make her hold her accountable for her actions. Considering the shit she still does in this game, I really don’t think I’m asking for much here
#ask#anon#Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes spoilers#Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes spoilers#like. even with the shit Clyde also bullshitly gets away with there's still the MODICUM of ANYTHING#he can die. he can get LAMBASTED by his friends. it's just crumbs in the long run but it's SOMETHING#meanwhile the game goes out of it's way to make Edelgard look better - having the Kingdom folks say that they ''started a war back''#when all they did was not relent to Edelgard's demand of handing over the Church/Rhea is a HUGE example of that#and making Claude act JUST like Edelgard did in 3H but be - at least minimally - criticized for it is another#the other sides are ''just as bad'' as Edelgard is so Edelgard isn't bad anymore guys I promise -> that's how Hopes treats her

It's such an addictive show, when I have to go a whole week in between episodes I'm going to die. The wait until next year is already so long!!
god, I know, the like full three second pause after he calls Marian 'Harriet' where you can feel everyone be like 'should we.... say something? We all heard that right?' and then Agnes going 'yes Marian would like that', like....... truly, what can you say other than Yikes
they're just so Nice, and I do love that even the tiny little handfulls of them we've gotten every episode have basically been one of them spotting the other and being like ":D oh! Hello! :D" (even when Larry was basically on a date with his milf!!) have been very cute. I am holding my breath about like, What Does This 1800s Young Man Think About His Wife Having A Job (which is something I think would be a sticking point for Bertha, maybe (because the Old Money people wouldn't like it), even if she was all for them getting married)
I'm so tense over the whole duke situation!!!! Like!!! Best case scenario she just promised to put in a good word for him/use her influence over Gladys on behalf of his suit, worse case scenario..... I mean, I don't think she would have promised an engagement in a way she couldn't get out of (super duper extreme crossing my fingers and touching wood, etc). Every time I read anything about the Russells being based on the Vanderbilts I am filled with Absolute Dread because the daughter did get married to a duke and the Vanderbilts got divorced (although it wasn't over their daughter marrying a duke, I don't think). I'm going to be real-world stressed about this until season 3 comes out. There better not be any drama in my drama show, how dare you, etc
I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I really do think Larry&Marian have a better chance than Gladys&Literally Anyone when it comes to Bertha's approval. Like on top of general society 'women need more Marriage Security than men' stuff, I feel like Bertha wants a husband for Gladys to have the Most Old Money High Society Title she can get, whereas for Larry just the fact that Marian has an Old Money name (+ maybe some actual money from Ada? Since Ada doesn't have any children and would presumably want to leave the money to someone (I think Agnes' pride would stop her from accepting any for Oscar if she had the power to prevent it)). PLUS, I think George likes Marian (I just rewatched the episode where he buys out the charity bazaar an he smiles when Marian makes a joke about asking him for $500 instead of $100, on top of Marian being like, the key to him not going to jail and just generally being A Nice Young Woman His Son Likes), and I think Bertha probably does too - even if Marian was there to make up the numbers of guests at some things, I think Bertha would recognise that Marian was willing to be on her side before it was popular (Marian really does go to bat for Bertha in every scene, and I feel like there's no way Bertha didn't hear about that, and I can't imagine that's something that happens a lot when it isn't something she and George have orchestrated). Like George said, he rewards loyalty and punishes traitors, and so I'm really hoping that this is a "rewarding loyalty" thing.
Plus, I think Ada having The Money definitely helps. She's way more likely to be open to the possibility of Larry as long as it's True Love for Marian, I think (and I hope she does get to host parties!! Live your life Ada!!)
Relatedly, I'm so looking forward to Agnes and Bertha having to actually interact. They're both going to hate it and each other so much, and they're both absolutely two people who just can't help saying the mean thing they just thought of. I wonder if they're going to use Turner/Mrs Winterton as a possible like, common ground thing, since Agnes asked for her to be fired and Bertha would absolutely love an ally her pettiness about it (I may be writing a fic about this lol)
oscar.... I fear you might be right about the maid (and honestly I would be shocked if Armstrong didn't know). Another rough season for the sad gay son! A classic of the julian fellows show! Apparently the Maude Beaton thing was based on a real 1800s con woman (good for her, etc), and I do kind of hope that she comes back in some way
YES I LOVED THE STUPID RESOLUTION TO THE CLOCK ARC!!! Get in there Larry, become a patron of a clock inventor!!! Use the family money to help Jack invent the wrist watch or something!!
maddie. maddie i finished episode seven. how did so much shit happen so fast oh my god OSCAR and the brooklyn BRIDGE and LUKE holy shit. maddie holy shit. and MARION girl girl do not marry that guy please i know she wont but its gonna be so awkwardddd please let him make a huge social blunder so its easier that comment about her not being a real teacher girl get out of there
also thank god george didnt let them shoot the union jesus man i dont think i could ever forget that. nooooo george dont be anti-union your sexy ahahah.
I'd always heard people say jokingly that nothing happens in this show but SO much happens all the time???
Don't worry, Marian's fiance does something that EVERYONE in the room has a VISIBLE 'yikes!!' reaction to so she gets out relatively unscathed (Larry you'd better be cool with her having a job!! Although given how much he was like People Should Know A Woman Built This Bridge I don't think he will)
George manages to spin it as like, part of a Scheme which IS funny to me (and also I have been thinking a LOT about George v Bertha in terms of like, harm caused and why Bertha is maybe not less Upset but is like 'i don't feel personally bad for people I don't know dying' and I think it's like, most of the harm George causes is faceless, like talking to the union boss is his first time being like 'oh workers are PEOPLE who also have children and families, whoa', meanwhile Bertha has spent her entire married life walking into a room and thinking 'if I have to destroy every person here to get ahead I will')
Luke :((((((( Aunt Ada :(((((((((((((((((((((((((
Also, Oscar.... Oh Oscar, I hope s3 is less miserable for you but I suspect it will not be
#replies#bittersweet-mojo#people are like 'oh everything resolves too quickly'#but consider#if things stayed tense for more than two episodes in a row i would die in real life

i’m a fuuta innocent truther, and here’s my essay on it! by me
Hi hello I love Fuuta Kajiyama very much and I have many thoughts about him, particularly on his innocence/forgiveness. TWs: basic Milgram stuff (murder, doxxing, etc) along with mentions of past abuse. Also, I hope this is obvious, but I’m not supporting any Milgram character’s actions or crimes (except for Yuno, abortion is a human right), this is just my perspective!
I have a few points I’d like to make, but first, I’d like to lay out my perception of Fuuta, along with a few theories I have about him that seriously influence how I vote on him. It’s important to remember that Fuuta is a college student, and it’s implied that he’s had his online platform for at least a few years. That’s... a lot of pressure for somebody who’s twenty years old, and has presumably had a large following since their late teens. The quick escalation of Fuuta’s actions, from simple insults to outright doxxing and death threats, seems to me like Fuuta was worried about losing the following that he probably relied on both financially and emotionally, and his actions became more and more drastic as he tried to keep their attention (a little like Haruka).
Another thing that I think important to mention about Fuuta is that it’s implied that he faced some sort of abuse from his father. It’s unclear whether this was verbal, physical, or both, but he calls his father a “pathetic fogey” in one of his interrogations, and doesn’t expand past that, which reads as an abusive situation. None of this is confirmed, so I don’t let it influence my vote for Fuuta too much, but I personally believe that many of his actions stem from the need to prove that he isn’t a coward because his father planted that idea in his head.
Next, I’d like to look at Fuuta’s reaction to both his crime and his 1st trial verdict, because I think that this is what truly makes him one of the most redeemable characters in Milgram. Some characters know that they committed murder but feel no remorse (Kotoko, Amane), and it’s easy to say that others feel guilt, but that guilt is often directed more towards who was affected by the crime than the actual act of killing. For example, Haruka is easily one of the most guilt-stricken characters in Milgram, but when you look closer, Haruka is actually guilty because he feels that his crime didn’t get him attention and care. Fuuta, on the other hand, feels genuine remorse for his victim, despite his reluctance to admit it. Just look at his face in his 1st trial music video: Fuuta is scared. As a character, it’s pretty easy to see who Fuuta is: a young adult who puts on a tough front because he is terrified of being perceived as a coward. While it seems like Fuuta isn’t truly remorseful because of this tough act, it’s easy to see that he feels extremely guilty about what he did, in a more genuine way than other characters.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly: Fuuta’s is the only crime that isn’t, like, a major felony in Japan. Admittedly, I don’t know the intricacies of the Japanese legal system, and while online insults can get you up to a year of jail time, it’s nowhere near the consequences that literally every other character would face. Seeing how Fuuta is also the only character to not actually make the conscious decision to kill someone (he made posts, yes, but arguably didn’t know the direction it would take), Fuuta is the only character who, in the eyes of the law, isn’t facing capital punishment.
To sum it up, Fuuta is different from other Milgram characters in many ways. He does see his crime in a bad light, and, while scared to admit it, Fuuta feels a true guilt for what he did - from a metavoting perspective, it’s highly unlikely that he would ever do something even close to doxxing again. Fuuta’s just a scared kid who made a very, very bad mistake, but who deserves the opportunity to make amends. TLDR: vote Fuuta Kajiyama innocent 2k22

Ariel didn’t run away because she’s “selfish” and a stupid teenager
In this post, I will explain why I believe that Ariel actually ran away due to abuse by her father, King Trition, and manipulation by Ursula.
TW: I will be discussing specific examples of clear abuse
So as some background that I believe is important, I will start with the prequel to The Little Mermaid, where we get more background on Ariel and her father, and helps to establish a pattern of behavior.
Ariel’s mother is kill by pirates in the “first” movie, which is where King Triton’s fear/hatred of humans starts
Ariel’s mother loved music, and rather than dealing with his trauma, King Triton bans music from the entire kingdom. He refuses to heal, and therefore punishes his ENTIRE KINGDOM because of HIS trauma.
This leads to the start of Ariel’s estrangement from her father--she loves music and longs for more, leading her to discover a secret undercover music club. That right--the kingdom is forced to enjoy the beauty of music in secret, at very high risk to their own safety and wellbeing.
King Triton finds out about the club, shuts it down, and puts the band in jail.
Ariel runs off to find her mother’s music box in an attempt to teach her father that he’s forgotten to be happy and enjoy life (AKA deal with his trauma).
This is successful, and leads us into the main movie. Now, King Triton’s hatred of humans is never address in the prequel, and becomes a background, but also main focus of the original movie.
Because of King Triton’s hatred of humans, the kingdom is banned from going to the surface and/or interacting with humans. Again--this is Triton unable to deal with his trauma and punishing everyone to the extreme because he believes it to be the only way to protect everyone.
Ariel is a teenager--and we all know that when teenagers are not allowed to do something (or ifs, ands, or butts), they’re going to be sneaky and do it anyways.
This is exactly what happens with Ariel--she becomes obsessed, wanting to learn about humans and understand why her dad hates them. Instead, she is fascinated and longs to meet/interact with/understand humans.
This leads to her collections of human items, and as we know, her infatuation with Eric.
Triton finds out that Ariel is sneaking human items and going to the surface, and his immediate reaction is anger. Yelling. Punitive. He refuses to have a conversation with Ariel, and instead lectures and talks at her.
He then instructs someone to go outside of their job duties to literally follow Ariel around and spy on her.
Ariel sees Eric and becomes infatuated with him. We all know, teenagers form quick crushes/infatuation, and eventually get over it with a little time and move on, no big deal.
BUT Triton finds out. Sebastian is so scared of King Triton (the man literally grabs and squeezes him in anger when he realizes Ariel has feelings for a human) that he tells the King everything.
What does her father do? He again reacts to her with anger. Punishment. Berating her. He again refuses to listen to her or have a conversation with her. Instead, he yells at her, and destroys the collection that she has spent years working on, putting her in physical danger with his anger. Things are literally exploding around her.
You can see on his face when he leaves, and Ariel is sobbing, that he feels a little bad. But does he apologize? Try to talk to her? Admit that he overreacted? That he put her in physical danger with his anger? Nope. Not at all.
This action is the final act of isolation for Ariel. This is where Ursula is able to come in and easily manipulate a young, naïve girl. (In reality, it’s unlikely that Ariel would have run off if her father hadn’t pushed and abused her emotionally, verbally, and borderline physically.)
She goes to Ursula because she is upset with her dad. Because she does not feel safe. Because she is so unhappy that she doesn’t think she has any other options.
Ursula manipulates her into signing a contract that she doesn’t really understand by playing into the infatuation when Ariel is vulnerable and has just gone through abusive trauma.
Of course, we all know that Ursula never intends on letting Ariel have a happy ending--she’s just using Ariel to get to Triton, who she has a vendetta against for her own trauma caused by him. And it works.
Once Triton realizes that Ariel has run away, what does he do? He orders that the entire Kingdom stay awake, not sleep, and hunt for his daughter. Therefore, putting his personal issues and daughter over the Kingdom.
King Triton arrives just in time to save Ariel. But by saving Ariel, he puts his entire kingdom at risk and in danger. He gives all the power to Ursula-- who wants to power for power’s sake--to save his daughter. He put Ariel over his entire kingdom--and honestly over the humans too, as the ocean can be deadly to humans.
Obviously, this is Disney, so someone (Eric) saves the day. King Triton learns his lesson, and realizes that he pushed Ariel away by refusing to listen to her, have a conversation with her, or allow her to make any of her own decisions, and he does what will make her the most happy.
tdlr; King Triton is verbally, emotionally, and borderline physically abusive, which pushes Ariel away and isolates her. This allows Ursula to manipulate and take advantage of Ariel to try and get revenge on Triton.
Therefore, Ariel is not a selfish girl who gave up everything for a man. Ariel is a victim of abuse, and suffers from trauma which leads to her making a rash decision in desperation for love and happiness.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

I really liked this newest chapter. But the question that remains is that even if Deku is somehow able to save Tomura, won't the population want to seek vengeance on Tomura? i always found this to be one of the most despicable parts of AFO's design because even if Tomura had somehow realized how destructive his path is and how he's been manipulated, I don't see how he could turn back. He was a wanted terrorist since USJ and his body count has just been growing.
okay so first off, Tomura has become one of my favorite characters and so I have a very forgiving outlook toward him. but I also understand that like it or not, the damage has already been done, and there are obviously going to be serious consequences for destroying a city and murdering countless people (on top of all the other things he’s done already). obviously he’s not going to get off scot free for all of that, nor should he.
on the other hand, here’s the dilemma for me. I firmly believe in people taking responsibility for their actions, but Tomura’s case presents a quandary, because when someone’s choices are being manipulated by another party, are they really still their choices? is it still free will when every decision you think you’re making is in reality being directed by someone else’s hand as surely as a piece on a chessboard? or the player character in a video game? and it’s been that way since you were a child?
to put this another way, someone needs to be held accountable here, but I’m not convinced it’s him. like, this goes beyond even the “I was just following orders” argument, because Tomura was literally groomed since childhood to ensure that he would never do anything but follow those orders. in fact, he’s been groomed to the extent where he believes this is truly what he wants. but the reality of it is that literally everything Tomura is and everything he’s ever done is because of AFO’s direct interference.
AFO killed Nana and targeted her family, which directly led to Kotarou’s trauma, which resulted in him becoming a shitty abusive dad because no one in the BnHA universe ever goes to therapy
AFO almost certainly gave Tenko the Decay quirk (I have another post in the works about this so I won’t go into lengthy detail right now. but in my mind this is almost a certainty)
AFO also most likely interfered to prevent anyone else from coming to Tenko’s rescue before him (you won’t convince me that this was just a coincidence)
AFO literally forced Tenko to hold onto his pain and anguish and trauma, adorned him in his own dead family’s body parts, and gaslit him into believing that he had an uncontrollable urge to destroy things and kill people
lastly, AFO expertly manipulated Tenko into believing that hero society was to blame for all of his suffering, when in reality every single trauma that he’s experienced can be directly traced back to AFO
basically this kid was targeted and kidnapped and forced to become a murderer. there’s no other way to put it imo. his life was completely destroyed. and so as far as I’m concerned, the story’s ending can’t be completely satisfying unless Tomura/Tenko, as the person who’s actually suffered the most because of AFO, also gets some kind of justice for what happened to him.
and him going to jail for life, or being executed or whatever, just doesn’t feel like justice to me in this case. hence my dilemma. because the people that Tomura has hurt and killed deserve justice too. so there’s the conundrum -- we have a murderer who’s also a victim. so no matter what happens in the end, someone (read: Tomura) is either going to get off easy, or receive a punishment that they haven’t fully earned.
basically there is no perfect happy ending here. but once we accept that, there are a few “good” endings which I could see playing out. one is the Darth Vader Ending, in which Tomura turns on AFO (the fact that he still doesn’t know the extent of AFO’s involvement in his dead family extravaganza is a huge factor in his potential redemption, imo -- if/when he finds out, that will probably be the moment of truth), and battles him alongside Deku, possibly sacrificing his life to help finally defeat AFO for good. his crimes are atoned for by his death, he breaks free of AFO’s will, and he’s ultimately granted peace of a sort. on the other hand, that ending is also tragic af and I kind of hate it, ngl. AFO tortures him his whole life and then he fucking dies -- that’s one hell of a “sucks to be you” storyline for such an important character.
another possibility is an ending where, after Tomura switches sides and helps defeat AFO, Deku and a few of the others “accidentally” let him and the rest of the LoV escape. very unfortunate. we turned our back for two seconds and they managed to give us the slip. we’re very sorry, you know how it is, etc. etc. this would be the Indulgent Ending, so named because it’s extremely unrealistic, and also everything I want. it basically consists of everyone living happily ever after because I want them to, goddammit. basically Tomura and the League ride off in the sunset to lead a life of harmless crime, and also Tomura gets another dog, just because. as for Tomura’s victims, they get their justice with AFO’s death, without Tenko having to be sacrificed as yet another victim.
and lastly, there’s always the possibility of a Downer Ending in which it turns out Tomura really is too far gone and can’t be saved. Deku still defeats AFO, but Tomura dies having never broken free of AFO’s control. I would absolutely hate this ending, as it is in no way satisfactory and basically constitutes a victory for AFO, since it would mean his philosophy triumphing over his brother’s. fortunately, this is also the least likely ending imo, because it would go against the very core of the story. as the First put it, “get it, Brother? the villain... always loses in the end.” otherwise what the hell has this all even been for?
anyway, so those are some of my thoughts. it is a very complicated situation, and in the end I’ll probably accept just about any kind of ending except for that last one that I mentioned. but I’m with Deku on this one.

Heyyy. With all this supposed romantic jealousy and like you said ‘dick measuring’ game that Nick and Rio are playing, I think about the scene in the car after Beth got Rio arrested and Nick got him out. Rio said: “so what do you want to do about [Beth?] and Nick said “not what you want to do.” This scene makes it seem like they have a plan that they’re BOTH in on to deal with Beth. I’m at first I thought they were playing good cop/bad cop (I still think they are) but now Rio is clearly uncomfortable with Nick’s plan. What the fuck is going on because I am confused?
Also do you think the dynamic between Nick and Rio will become clearer by the finale? They seem to have a very complex relationship and wow, who would have thought utilising one of your best and most underused character that LITERALLY DRIVES THE WHOLE MAIN PLOT would make the show interesting again 🤔
Hi, doll! Ok, you’re gonna have to bear with me because my brain is messy at the best of times and I’ve had a non stop headache since yesterday morning, so making sense of my thoughts is hella difficult right now lol. I’m just gonna break this up into sections to help me keep track of everything!
P.s. I’m sorry this got long 🥴
Rio and Nick’s dynamic
So, from what we’ve seen so far, Nick is extremely narcissistic, manipulative, and selfish. In my opinion, he doesn’t really seem to have a very strong sense of self or morality, he just becomes whoever he needs to, in order to achieve the goal at hand. Whether it’s kissing ass at the golf club, playing politics, or having Rio thrown in jail/beaten with a stool. He’s always thinking about the long game, always about the bigger picture, he likes to use every situation/person to his advantage. He seems to have some sort of resentment and/or jealousy towards Rio and that comes out a lot in his desire to take from Rio. He took his dreams of being a boxing a boxer, his freedom, trivial stuff like the burger and the basketball. I also think he wants to take Beth but they’ve not made it clear in what capacity he wants to take her. Whether it’s because he’s clocked that Rio has/had genuine feelings for her, or because he thinks Beth is a business asset. Either way, he sees that Beth is a sore spot and he’s going to keep pushing as a way to exert power and feel like a man.
Rio, on the other hand, likes to see immediate results, and he can be pretty impulsive. He’s also very self-assured, he is who he is and he doesn’t change that for anyone. He literally has a giant tattoo across his throat which he displays proudly because he doesn’t care how anyone else sees him. But he has a natural charm and charisma that he can use when he needs it, without having to become a completely different person. I think he’s a very emotional person, regardless of how much he tries to hide it, which can make him pretty reactive to situations – see: basically every interaction with Beth.
They’re wildly different people and this would cause conflict in itself because they immediately want to handle situations differently, like with Annie being kidnapped. The girls owed him money, Rio was mad about it, and he wanted an immediate resolution to that problem, whereas Nick didn’t care so much about the short-term financial issues, in comparison to the long-term benefit to him of keeping Beth onside. Within their organisation, the structure is still kinda murky because he doesn’t seem to be the boss, but then he does and ehhh. Supposedly Rio handles all the illicit stuff and then Nick pushes through city contracts to shell corporations he owns and also makes money from that, as well as keeping Rio out of jail. The actual power imbalance between them still irks me because Nick is literally a councilman. He has no real clout. There’s no reason for him to have such a hold over Rio, especially when Rio knows exactly what Nick is and he also knows that Nick wouldn’t have dick without him. But I digress.
The conversation in the car
I definitely think that conversation is very relevant to what’s happening with Beth right now. In that moment, I think Rio wanted revenge, plain and simple but he was also thinking long term. I don’t think he was planning on going out to kill her, but that’s where Nick’s mind went because he severely underestimates how much of a “big picture guy” Rio can be hence telling Rio, “not what you want to do”. Presumably, there would’ve been a discussion between them off screen where Nick decided exactly what was going to happen and how they were going to use her. My guess is that going forward they were basically going to play a game of ‘good cop bad cop’. Nick offers himself up as the friendly local councilman, shows concern for Beth, helps her etc, while Rio is more menacing than ever. Rio is reluctantly going along with this plan because of the stupid power imbalance, but I think he’s got something up his sleeve. I think the discomfort we’re seeing from Rio stems from their difference in opinion on how to handle Beth, Rio chafing under Nick’s control and also the resentment Rio holds because of Nick’s constant routine of taking what’s his. I kinda spoke about it in this post.
Last time Beth got Rio arrested, he shot Dean - he’s not shy when it comes to payback. Typically, he’s always quite reactive to situations and that can (has) come to bite him in the ass but he knows this. He was there. He knows that every time he pushes Beth, she pushes back with equal force, so he needs to immobilise her. While Nick just wants to use Beth to benefit himself financially, by using her to push through contracts for shell corporations etc, I think Rio wanted to kill two birds with one stone. He can use Beth as a shield for his business and make money off her, then later on, I think he probably wants to use her to get rid of Nick and potentially let Beth go down with him as payback for her betrayal (at least, I think that was his original plan but he may soften to her and end up forming an alliance once Nick is out of the picture).
Romantic Jealousy?
As for the jealousy, it’s still not the word I’d choose to describe Rio. It probably fits, to a degree, but I always associate it with pettiness and wanting stuff you don’t have - i.e. Nick. With Rio, it feels more possessive over what he already has because he knows Nick wants to take it. This now extends to Beth because she was and is his, at least in a business sense. I don’t think he’s ever been particularly jealous of her in their personal relationship because neither of them ever truly gave into whatever it was. In business, she worked for him, she answered to him, if she needed help – she came to him, and he’s created that dynamic with Beth by keeping her isolated from his wider organisation. He was effectively trying to mentor her and make her in his image. Now, Nick comes along and suddenly Beth’s going to Nick for help, Beth’s doing what Nick says, and she’s looking to Nick as a mentor. So, once again, Nick is taking what belongs to Rio. That’s why I think he reacted the way he did in the strip club. He realised that he was about to lose to Nick again, and he wasn’t willing to let that happen, so he pulled out the ol’ carrot and stick. He took her money away as a punishment, made her think on her feet, and then rewarded her for a job well done. He showed her that she doesn’t need Nick because then Nick has no hold over her. He’s showing Beth that she can get shit done on her own, but also reminding her that he essentially made her what she is. He taught her. He believed in her. He asked her what she gained from being on the city council and doing what Nick tells her, knowing full well she gets fuck all out of it because he knows Nick. Then he gave her a reward to make ‘team Rio’ all the more appealing. Yes, there could well be some romantic feelings under that but I don’t think that’s what’s driving Rio right now. I think this is firmly about him and Nick, while Beth has become another toy for them to fight over.

hey sorry for being a colossal dumbass but. prison abo cant mean what i think it means, right?
it does, and i believe in it. here's a comic that should be sufficiently digestible:
some people say that 'prison abolition' isn't meant to be a problem to solve or even address all of societal's ills that prison currently addresses (note that i didn't say 'solve', it doesn't), but merely the political activism of people who are subjugated by it to advocate for themselves, as in, those who are ingested and consumed by the prison complex. this take has been gaining popularity in my 'circle' on tumblr, but i don't subscribe to it, because while it is useful to both the few who do actually get convicted of unconsciable crimes (and by nature of the justice system, incredibly few do) and the many who are jailed for victimless crimes — which is fine, because they are deserving of advocacy because as i will continue to expound on, even in cases of real harm done prison is both not the answer and the notion of caging people is completely unconsciable in itself — it is useless to the many who their actions have had real and actual impact on, and when prisons are part of their world and the justice system ruefully the primary method through which they are given any (illusion of) safety and comfort, their concerns too must be addressed.
even so, i believe that this in itself is incredibly tragic since prison is a net negative even with concern to the problems it purports to solve, and that it can and should be judged on those grounds, because the problems that prison does try to address are real. for example, the way to deal with rapists and murderers is to not give them a status of authority and firearms, and yet, that is the kind of person the police force both recruits from and that it molds its recruits into, and the same must be said of wardens. there are many horrific crimes which can be said to both be horrible, and yet, the natural consequence of certain mileaus and circumstances. the goal then is to in so far aid people in overturning those circumstances and healing each other that the idea that prisons aren't just not redundant, but necessary, becomes absolutely laughable. not that i believe that business as usual is to continue in the prison complex until we reach this mythical transition point, because prisons are part of the circumstances that turn people into monsters— recidivism rates speak for themselves, and so does the fact that prison tends to harden people.
the crux of my issue is that all of this is literally true and evidence-based, but i feel like some fellow victims are too uncaring towards survivors who haven't had these talking points articulated to them by close friends in a caring and sympathetic manner, and i think the idea that you can condescend people over the internet in accepting these facts is laughable, and often i feel like it borders on cruelty and retraumatisation. nevertheless, i think the fact that it can incur this harm is proof of the way the prison complex in a totalising fashion alters our ways of processing trauma the same way it causes it: when the bereaved families of people who were raped and murdered say that they can't sleep after a judge gave a 'light' sentence to the perpetrator, they mean it: revenge and punishment is literally the only thing this system offers them that gives them any comfort. in this way the justice system robs victims, perpetrators, and co-victims all: it deprives people of real solutions and remedies in service of the perverse god of retaliation and violence, only creating more of it in the process down the line.
nevertheless i don't believe that people being individually helped by cops or the justice system justifies their love of carceral logic. the same cop that might have arrested a domestic abuser is extremely statistically likely to beat their own partner and moreover, contributes to a system that leaves people dehumanised, abused, and psychologically mutilated to guarantee that they'll do it themselves as well, or again. nor do i believe that having been a victim of any violent crime entitles you to love the cops and prison, because you don't get to worship a system which might have helped you contextually, individually, and yet has incredible collective and negative consequences.
i hate rapists, i hate pedophiles, deeply, genuinely, openly, and without regret or apology— but if what it takes to prevent rape, and child rape is to replace prisons and jail sentences with rehabilitation and prevention through social services, if treating those people with kid's gloves is what actually stops people from getting raped, then i am in favor: and the evidence overwhelmingly points out that it does. sometimes, we do have to set aside our feelings of hurt and bereavement to work towards more effective solutions for all of us. simultaneously, i don't believe that you get to kick people while they're down and they're grasping at the only thing that could give them any feeling of safety and security, even if they do so in a way that isn't yet completely ideologically correct— don't let people languish into reactionary bullshit, but understand whatever has been inculcated into them as something that simply does need time to undo, that harsh criticism isn't part of every stage of that progress, and condescension and mockery never are.
the fact that you are asking this question probably means you are oblivious to this discourse and all the bad faith actors in it, but this is, in specific terms, what my feelings on it are.

Gavin Bros. Analysis
here be spoilers for apollo justice (aa4)
There are already a bunch of posts all about AA:AJ and just what the heck was behind Kristoph Gavin’s Psychelocks. What were his motivations? Why did he do what he did? As fragmented as the story is surrounding the Gavin brothers, and as much as I wish the source material had rounded out their characters a little more, I believe the game actually tells you pretty much everything there is to know about this case rather succinctly. Don’t worry as I will use evidence to back up my claims...
It is notably interesting that Kristoph’s Psychelocks only come up when Phoenix asks him point blank why he killed Zak Gramarye. This is the one question that Kristoph consistently refuses to answer directly, both in Solitary Cell 13 and in his testimony at his trial. Coincidentally, this is also the main question that he ever gets asked that speaks to his emotions or state of mind. Kristoph has a really good logical answer for basically all of the evidence-based questions. But, it’s also not a coincidence that Apollo has the presence of mind to note - “why not bring up the motive from the start? unless it was a battle he thought he might lose...”
This establishes pretty clearly that Kristoph is going to have a vested interest in keeping all questioning solidly focused on the material evidence at hand such as the postage stamp, the nail polish, and reasons why he cannot be directly connected to those objects. The law provides plenty of escape hatches and loopholes for Kristoph to exploit, which he does, providing him with the legal basis to be able to escape punishment due to the inability for anyone to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. This is not surprising as being a very successful defense attorney is literally his job and he happens to be extremely competent at it.
This kind of person is scary if you meet them in real life because they can always seem to wriggle out of anything you try to pin on them. Kristoph is a grand master at doing this, quite possibly as good as they come in the AA universe.
Here’s the rub. Apollo brings up that Kristoph wants to avoid bringing the conversation into motives and state of mind questions, why? Because “it’s a battle he thinks he might lose”. Every single time this topic comes up, Kristoph deflects the question. This also is indicated by the five black Psychelocks that come up when Phoenix asks him point blank why he killed Zak. So from this we can gather that the game is drilling it in pretty well that Kristoph’s motivations are a sore spot for him and possibly the one chink in his armor.
Because the material evidence cannot prove anything for or against Kristoph’s guilt, in a typical case like this the police would hope for the holy grail - a full confession and admission of guilt. Kristoph is much too cool of a customer to fall into any traps, no doubt he was questioned very rigorously after being arrested, but all he even had to do was invoke his right to remain silent regarding his motives or simply claim that he killed Zak just ‘cause y’know, being evil is fun. Once he confessed to killing Zak, though, the police probably didn’t care all that much to probe into his thoughts and motivations really, if he did it, he did it and he’s going to spend a stint in jail either way.
Phoenix sees through this, however. In Solitary Cell 13 he does NOT allow Kristoph to drop or evade the question. That is why we get as far as even seeing the black Psychelocks at all. If we can’t know the motive, why bother to have this scene in the game?
Quite simply we can now understand that Kristoph’s motive for killing is something emotional. It is not something that he’s going to divulge casually, but it is also probably something that he is worried about divulging UNCONSCIOUSLY which is why he constantly tries to steer conversations away from it, instead deflecting to discuss the evidence or the emotional state of other people in the room. Consider that Kristoph’s reputation is PREDICATED on him being “the Coolest Defense in the West”. His identity is based on his successful suppression of emotions in court. This is not to say he shows no emotion or is some kind of monotone emotionless husk. He has a rather dry sense of humor. He banters with Apollo. He banters with Phoenix. He isn’t as uptight as some portrayals would have you believe (”life is to be taken easy”). When it comes to surface topics, Kristoph is an open book. He’s not as terse as you would believe, but rather kind of poetic and loquacious and conversational (to his downfall in 4-1). You get the feeling that he would be a very good conversationalist. But only for surface topics. Try to dig a little deeper and he will very neatly deflect your efforts.
How can we hope to understand a character who by definition does not have any interest in talking about his innermost neuroses? The reason why people still discuss the Gavin brothers and Turnabout Succession so much is that, while a very satisfying and intense case, it is unlike a lot of other AA cases in that you come away from it with a LOT of open ended questions. You don’t feel the same feeling of closure as you would get from the DL-6 case, where it feels like you finally understand all the facts of the case and all of the character motivations come to light making you go “oh! THAT MAKES SENSE!” you understand why von karma killed gregory, and everything comes together nicely in the end. Turnabout Succession is kind of a rarity in that it does not do that. By the end, you feel like you clearly understand the case, but you do not have a crystal clear view of the root cause of the motivations behind it.
In Kristoph’s final testimony he does shed a little bit of light on his motivations for his crimes. The issue that he has is mainly centered around his dismissal by Zak Gramarye as his representation. And, his subsequent replacement with Phoenix Wright, an attorney he perceives to be low-class and sub-par. Kristoph then states “these men shamed me, and I could not forgive that.” This is as close to an answer as to why he went to such lengths to get Phoenix disbarred as we are likely to get. Disproportionate retribution is the name of the game. It seems as if, if there’s one thing Kristoph cannot tolerate, it’s being looked down upon by someone that he perceives as inferior to him. Kristoph has extremely polarized notions of who should get to practice law, who is acceptable and who is categorized under “ignorant swine soiling the courts”. He makes very, very clear that he has nothing but disdain for common people, common wisdom, and any use of emotion or feelings in deciding verdicts.
So the particular manner in which Phoenix sought to bring him down with the jury system was a very deliberate masterstroke to Kristoph’s pride. That much we can establish. But again, motive. The game goes out of its way to tell you that whomever defended Zak would be “famous beyond belief” and, presumably also, rich. They would get a lot of very high-profile clients and cases sent their way after successfully defending the uber-famous magician Zak Gramarye.
Taking all of this into account, right. Is it possible that everything Kristoph did has its roots in one very simple source, the root of all evil?
Money.
Taking a step back for a moment, consider Klavier. Why does Klavier perform in a rock band? “Because I want Frauleins to look at me when I walk down the street.” I feel like people really want to believe that both Kristoph and Klavier are super deep characters and have all this deep lore and hidden backstory. Maybe they do. Most AA characters do. But consider this. What if they’re both so deep, they’re actually just shallow? Yes, that shallow?
Given how much AA:AJ focuses on the Gavins, which is really not that much, this concept seems difficult to swallow. Is there really more to the story based on what the game gives us? If there is, how would we piece it together?
One major hint the game gives you about Kristoph (and, if this is insignificant, then you have to really wonder why they bother to bring it up at all) takes place directly after seeing Kristoph’s black Psychelocks in Solitary Cell 13. He starts doing his nails. Phoenix says “I know appearances are a big thing with you”. Kristoph says “You know what I say? One cannot live a beautiful life without beautiful nails.”
I feel that this statement is important because it is probably about as deep of a look as we are ever going to get at how shallow Kristoph Gavin really is. He hopes you will believe that he’s playing 12-dimensional chess with some kind of fucked up backstory and motive going, but the truth is, he’s no chessmaster. Based on what the game gives you, there’s really only one motivation for everything that makes sense.
Kristoph killed Zak, Drew and attempted to kill Vera to cover his tracks. He had to do everything he could to make sure no one talked about the forgery. He had to stalk people like Spark and keep Phoenix very close (the epitome of keep your friends close keep your enemies closer). There’s nothing really debatable about those facts because they are all discussed in the game.
What about the root cause? Revenge, of course, for Phoenix stealing away the chance for Kristoph to defend Zak.
Why was defending Zak so important to Kristoph? To become rich and famous.
So wait. Why does Kristoph need to be rich and famous?
As it is, Kristoph appears to be very affluent and well off. There is no real reason directly given in the game as to why he would need such prestige and fame other than that it feeds his massive ego and superiority complex. So that’s a big part of it, no debate there.
But why would the excessive monetary gains that would be secured off of the Gramarye case be so appealing to Kristoph? We’ll re-examine this in a little bit.
In Daryan Crescend’s case, Phoenix tells Apollo “every man has an igniter. find his and set it off”.
What is Kristoph’s igniter?
I mean some people would say Phoenix Wright is Kristoph’s igniter based on his breakdown. But, I think more of that trial was contrived by Phoenix than we tend to notice.
I think Klavier is Kristoph’s igniter.
The final trial in Turnabout Succession would not have been able to succeed without Lamiroir, without the jury system, without Phoenix pulling the strings, without Trucy, without Apollo, and most especially without Klavier. Removing any of these elements from the scenario would immediately give Kristoph a massive advantage in allowing him to manipulate the courtroom. Can you imagine Payne trying to prosecute Kristoph?
No. Klavier was the only one who could confront Kristoph successfully.
The final trial had to be contrived in such a way as to put maximal pressure on Kristoph to increase the chances that he would slip up or, more likely, that an element of randomness and/or emotion would become introduced. Phoenix sets up Klavier as the prosecutor for this trial for a good reason - remember, Phoenix tells Apollo point blank that he (Phoenix) is pulling all of the strings for the Misham trial, so whatever happens is entirely his responsibility.
It must have been difficult for Phoenix to entrust Klavier, the person who sealed his fate, with such an important task. But realistically, he didn’t really have a choice. Klavier’s disclosure of Kristoph’s visit to the prosecutor’s office is the glue that holds together the entire case against Kristoph Gavin. Notice that Kristoph never really does anything to keep Klavier out of the public eye or otherwise silence him (up until the very end at least). If I knew there was someone walking around giving press interviews and practicing as a prosecutor who knew something really incriminating about me, I would want them swept away or snuffed out asap - I mean, Kristoph has already poisoned Drew and Vera who were unlikely to tattle on him at best; Drew couldn’t even identify him! What Klavier has on him is much, much more damning dirt. Either Kristoph really loves and trusts his brother or is convinced that he can control Klavier to the point where Klavier would never dare tell anyone about that visit or wouldn’t want to. Probably both are true.
The interesting thing about this dynamic is that this is really the only time where we see both Gavin brothers together in one room, as well. Something about being in proximity changes both of their behaviors. Klavier becomes hyper-alert and nervous in Kristoph’s presence, a marked change from his usually easy demeanor. Klavier’s presence causes Kristoph to make several mistakes, which end up costing him the case.
So all of these things needed to happen, and they needed to happen simultaneously for Phoenix to succeed. Getting back to my theory on Kristoph, we can see from what’s said in the game a few things - he really, REALLY wanted to be the one to benefit from defending Zak Gramarye (a trial he knew he would win against his brother using forged evidence), the presence of Klavier is his undoing in court, and his appearances are very, very important to him.
I honestly think the real reason Kristoph was so salty about losing out on the Gramarye trial fame and money is that he didn’t just want to be affluent or well-to-do. He wanted to be excessively, filthy rich.
If you look at Solitary Cell 13 you will see that Kristoph likes very much to surround himself with many nice things. He likes tasteful decorations and furniture. He enjoys literature, music, art, that weird rose he keeps in a vase, and he has a dog named Vongole. “First rate in all things, accept nothing less.”
To have such top of the line items, Kristoph must not only be rich, he must be like top 1% rich. He has to have the absolute best of everything. This is why he needs money. Without these things, what separates him from the ignorant swine he so despises? This is why Kristoph needed money.
Nowhere is this highlighted more than with the Ariadoney nail polish. I think it’s mentioned a couple of times that the Ariadoney is absolutely the best possible nail polish that you can buy. It’s very, very expensive and is manufactured in extremely limited quantities (this is discussed during Kristoph’s testimony). If Kristoph is this fixated on something as simple as a bottle of nail polish, you can almost imagine the absolutely ludicrous costs of every other item that he uses or owns, not limited to his home, his car, fine foods and wine, his expensive hobbies, possibly traveling etc etc etc etc. I just know this fool shops at Whole Foods, because I can’t see him buying groceries at the Costco. It makes a lot of sense as to why he is single as well. Kristoph Gavin would end up being an expensive habit to any partner who would have him - I wouldn’t want to share a bank account or credit line with him. He needs Gucci to keep him happy. No bootlegs here.
Point is, Kristoph Gavin has an addiction to the finer things in life and he will NOT settle for second rate products. He will have what he wants and he will do basically anything to maintain his lifestyle at its current elite level at the expense of his own morality and soul. Sadly enough I feel like that might be as deep as it gets with him. That’s a really pathetic motive to have and makes me hate him a lot more, but it’s so fucked up I can’t look away.
Consider also the most important thing to Kristoph of all - his appearance. It costs money to keep yourself up and this seems to be the one area that Kristoph might end up pouring the most money into. The top of the line suit, the white shoes, the perfect tan, the platinum blonde hair so immaculately coiffed, the fact that his skin is virtually perfect and the fact that his face is near-identical to Klavier’s despite being some 8 or 9 years older. Most normal people would have some kind of facial imperfection pop up at some point, a wrinkle, a pock mark, something. And that’s when you realize... that Kristoph Gavin has most likely had work done. Like, on his face to make it stay youthful. He’s just that vain and probably also despises watching Klavier stay young and pretty while he’s just aging. Fillers? Botox? Collagen treaments? Something more invasive? No one knows, but all I’m saying is that Klavier’s character description goes out of its way to describe Klavier as “the spitting image of Kristoph Gavin”. Vera notices the extreme resemblance right away. There can certainly be genetic basis for two brothers looking alike, but compare that to how Mia and Maya look “alike”, or Lana and Ema, both of whom have a similar age gap to Kristoph and Klavier. You would realize that Kristoph and Klavier seem to have somewhat of a more obvious resemblance despite the age difference. So this isn’t just possible anymore, this is actually likely. I don’t think the game implies that Kristoph has undergone plastic surgery or anything, so I’m keeping this in the realms of headcanon for now. But it would make perfect sense as yet another reason as to why Kristoph Gavin needs cold cash. He needs to look flawless and he needs access to the absolutely most top of the line treatments and practitioners, continually. And as he continues to age, he needs to get more and more aggressive, more and more products, more and more retouching with those age reversal creams and foundations and stabilizers. That adds up, cost-wise, very very fast, especially if you want top of the line EVERYTHING, and Kristoph does indeed. It is very clear that settling for any less would be completely unacceptable to him.
All of this money, it has to come from somewhere. Being a posh defense lawyer will bring in some money, sure, but nothing near what Kristoph is going to need to live his beautiful life. Winning the Gramarye trial would have probably bought him enough prestige, clients and monetary gains to support himself off of law for the rest of his life. It does make a lot of sense that he would be incensed after losing that chance.
There is one more unexplored possibility as to why Kristoph had to be the one to win the Gramarye trial, though, and it ties into the money issue as well. This was supposed to be a fair match, after all, brother to brother. Klavier’s first case, in fact. It was supposed to be Kristoph vs. Klavier, and Kristoph wanted to make sure that he would be the one to win. Only Zak and Phoenix ruined that chance - a once in a lifetime chance, actually, for Kristoph to go up against his brother on Klavier’s very first day.
Klavier was the prosecutor of the Gramarye trial. It was his very first case. What could Kristoph have to gain by being the one to trounce 17-year-old Klavier in court on his first day on the job?
Well, not much, other than it would have been a huge crushing blow to Klavier psychologically.
There’s a comic floating around by someone, I think zarla-s, where Kristoph wins the Gramarye trial and is discussing his win with Klavier afterwards. Kristoph is smug and hopes Klavier will be humbled by his impressive win, but Klavier is unperturbed by his loss, happy for his brother and insists he’ll win next time.
As cute as this is, somehow I don’t think that’s exactly how it would go down.
Klavier has actively shown how nervous / anxious / upset Kristoph’s mere presence makes him in a courtroom setting. Based on this, it’s not unfair to say that losing to Kristoph IN PARTICULAR on Klavier’s very first case would have been a devastating psychological blow that could technically end Klavier’s prosecutor career before it even began. There is a lot on the line with the Gramarye trial, don’t forget the praise and adulation that Klavier gained by winning it. So other than all of the fame, adulation, money and pride Kristoph would have gained by rigging and winning the Gramarye trial, there is another dimension that he was also robbed of - the ability to ruin his brother’s law career. Losing to another attorney like Phoenix or anyone else would not be enough to do the job. It would have to and could only be Kristoph’s doing.
What reason could Kristoph have for wanting Klavier’s law career to come to an end?
Well, Klavier does have another job. As a rock star.
Wildly popular rock stars make a lot of money, many many many times more than even a celebrity defense attorney could dream to make.
The Gavinners had multiple albums go platinum. They sold out shows all over the country, I believe, possibly all over the world. They are a brand. They are profitable. Klavier is profitable.
With how much Kristoph depends on and uses Klavier, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Kristoph gets to take a big cut of Klavier’s earnings from his music career. For all we know, Kristoph could have been responsible for assembling and filing many of the Gavinners’ early contracts and legal paperwork. The rights to songs, record deals, merchandising - this is a lot of stuff. I’d say it’d be pretty hard to believe that Kristoph did not have his hooks into the Gavinners from day one. If he handled contracts, he could have written in loopholes that would give him a huge cut of any earnings resulting from Klavier’s band, the Gavinners.
Now I know what you’re thinking, Klavier himself is a legal prodigy. He could have easily read through anything Kristoph prepared and refused to sign on the dotted line if he found anything amiss or hidden in the fine print. What if Kristoph’s legal control of Klavier started much earlier than that? Depending on when Klavier started in the entertainment business, which could have been a very early age, Kristoph could have had plenty of time and opportunity to secure access to any of Klavier’s future earnings, especially if their parents were out of the picture.
If you think Kristoph has nothing to do with the Gavinners, think about it. One of their songs is literally called “Atroquinine, My Love”. They are a brand. They are marketed specifically to teeny boppers. They’re not squeaky clean mainstream pop like the Jonas Brothers or anything, but they are marketable. The advertising, the way they dress, the way Klavier says he’s tired of the youthful angst scene, the fact that Klavier only gives Apollo and Trucy a 20% discount on concert tickets. I’m just saying a lot of it could end up being contrived, perhaps by a certain someone with an ulterior motive. It seems really, really weird and coincidental that the band broke up right after AA4 too. Klavier seems like he’s really dedicated to his art, and to music. This much is clear in the way he reverently talks about Lamiroir, how he teared up at her song, even the Guitars’ Serenade seems like a very different song than what the Gavinners would typically do, and it only debuts after Kristoph is already in jail.
It makes you wonder if there might be a little something more going on here. If Kristoph had it set up to where he could get access to Klavier’s assets, which almost certainly dwarf his own by several times, then he had every reason to want to crush Klavier in court. He had to be the one to face Klavier in the Gramarye trial and win, causing Klavier to end his prosecutor dreams - and do what?
Go back on the road, put everything into his music career and become a workhorse for Kristoph’s ambitions.
Putting Klavier full time on the Gavinners would have solved all of Kristoph’s monetary worries for good. He could skim everything off the top and finally live the beautiful life of his dreams, the life he needed to have and couldn’t do without. Most importantly, he could keep up appearances and always look continually young and attractive.
Until we learn otherwise, I think that that is really all that was behind Kristoph’s black Psychelocks. Just a narcissistic, vain, preening loser masquerading as some mastermind villain when, in the end, that’s not really what he cared about being. He cared about painting his nails in a luxurious mansion surrounded by piles of money in a big Scrooge McDuck money vault, and laughing maniacally at anyone who ever thought that there was anything more to it.
#gavin brothers#kristoph gavin#klavier gavin#ace attorney: apollo justice#black psychelocks#these guys drove me a little crazy#because it took me awhile to figure out what they were all about#and then i was like oh. wow. thats really kind of all there is to it#not that i dont enjoy the au ideas where theres like a deeper reason behind everything#but what material there is of them doesnt give us much of anything to work with#and this is the only theory i can think of that best accounts for everything in the simplest way#man i didnt want to like these fuckers at first but they are gd interesting#it's pretty fun to try to fill in the blanks#and by all means all interpretations are valid im not saying this is the only one

Hello luv, thank you for the Ask! Happy belated birthday in advance. I am so sorry for the delayed wish 🙏 Here's hoping this will be a good belated gift for you 💖
Reiner x Mikasa (ReiKasa) Extremely Kinky Sexy Times Modern AU (R20+) Headcanon #12
(A/N: ‼️WARNING‼️Graphic/Explicit Description of very dirty smut with potentially provocative images ⛔ Please don't click Keep Reading if you're below 20 🙅♀️ Sorry kiddos! To my more adult readers, please absorb this post's content with appropriate discretion & maturity)
Ring the alarm because it's going to get extremely fiery in this zone 😳🔥🔥🔥 If i'm going to horny jail, I'm taking you guys with me haha
------------
Reiner & Mikasa have a very comfortable (and vanilla) sex life. However, they do have some secret kinks that they share behind closed doors. The kinks are only discovered after they've been together for at least half a year based on the trust they have built through their relationship. Reiner and Mikasa would at least go on between 10-15 dates before they become intimate with each other & exploring the more physical aspects of their relationship. These two don't f**k. They make love; slow, tantric, gazing into each other's eye kind of loving. When their bodies fuse, so do their souls.
BUT, after months of getting comfortable with each other's bodies, that is when they know they are both ready to bring in more colors into their sex life and ready to take it to the next level. It takes some time on Mikasa's end because this woman has some insecurities with the way her body is built. Yet Reiner helps her build her confidence a lot by giving her the space and the time she needs to truly let herself go with him and he is the kind of man that embraces HER body type the way she is. But if Reiner could describe Mikasa's body with one word, it'll be with heaven-sent.
Secret Fetishes
Muscle Kinks (Both)
No, not the literal muscle kink 🤣 Mikasa admires Reiner's body very much - his strong and sturdy shoulders and his large Nordic build reminds her of the statue of Ares she had once saw in Greece. His biceps are her most favorite go-to body parts of his (during sex especially) when she wants to sneak in quick affectionate touches, kisses or squeezes (apart from his butt!). Mikasa expresses her feelings better through touches. Let's just say she can't keep her hands away from his a$$ when they're in private. Reiner has also learned to know that the tighter her grip is on his biceps while he's inside of her, it means he's hitting her sweet spots just right.
Meanwhile for Reiner, he doesn't have a very specific favorite on Mikasa because he loves every part of her! Although he's developed an affinity for her breasts and abs. He'd jokingly say that he'll eat off her body if he could (like those kinky sushi bars haha) 😏 But, to Mikasa, Reiner knows exactly how to suck her soul out of her body through certain sensitive points of hers using his sinful lips.
Fellatio (Reiner)
Like most men, Reiner loves getting blowjobs. He finds himself in bliss yet being extremely defeated every time Mikasa goes down on him. This woman, apart from having a pair of strong grips, rather unexpectedly, has a strong jaw muscle and exceptional gag reflex control. She swallows too ;) He'd almost instantaneously comes when she pulls double jobs on him (mouth & breasts) at the same time. He also loves running his fingers through her hair and seeing the intensity in her gaze when they lock eyes while he's deep inside her mouth. Mikasa devours him like she would with her favorite ice-cream: lots of tongue, sucking and loads of slurping.
Cunnilingus (Mikasa)
Mikasa isn't a very loud lover but only Reiner is able to make her whimper helplessly with his mouth and fingers. Reiner sucks so well (pun intended) that she'll end up being a heaving mess when he's done with her. Mikasa has become an acquired taste for Reiner. He knows exactly the right amount of pressure to apply using his tongue and teeth on that sensitive spot of hers until he drinks her dry. These two love the receiving and giving aspect of their lovemaking. So, yes, they enjoy doing the 34+35 a lot ;)
Mild Kink - Foreplay, hair pulling, loads of biting & scratching (both)
As referenced in this post, Reiner & Mikasa are both biters. He likes pulling her hair if he takes her from behind and she'll grip his back or his arms so hard that her nails would always break his skin if he's taking her in missionary. BUT, the sweetest part of their lovemaking is always their foreplay. Reiner loves running his fingers along her thighs, hips and back and takes pride when he can make her shiver with tiny prickling goosebumps on her skin. That way, he knows he's making her feel really good. Also, when he gets her all wet and gushy. *Bixby, play WAP by Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion 😳
Asphyxiation (both)
We're almost getting into BDSM territory. Depending on their mood for lovemaking, Reiner and Mikasa injects a li'l bit of mild asphyxiation while they're in deep penetration mode; just a little bit & not too much. They have a strong level of trust between them that they've never accidentally gripped too hard on or hurt the other. Their safe word for this: ACE.
Roleplay (Both)
Even after years of being together (even after the children comes into the picture), Reiner and Mikasa enjoys frequent roleplaying. Usually takes place during their wedding anniversaries to keep their marriage fresh and spicy. From pretending to be strangers meeting in a hotel bar, to hot plumber and the sexy housewife and to reliving their highschool tropes, these two have no qualms in putting on some disguises while getting their freak on.
Public Sex (Reiner) / Risk-taker (Mikasa)
Now, Mikasa is an extremely private, introverted person and her definition of public is more of having the risk of being heard of than the location itself. At the beginning of their exploratory phase, the furthest location beyond the bedroom that she's ever been comfortable in would be their house kitchen in broad daylight.
Even then, she'd be the one who'd make the first move because Reiner once shared that it'll be interesting to try sneaking a quickie when/where they're not supposed to.
Reiner wears reading glasses when he works at home and Mikasa always finding herself feeling a little turned on when he does. There's just something inexplicably sexy when she sees her gorgeous man getting all engrossed in serious work mode.
One time, Reiner was in a Zoom call with Magath and his Warrior unit and suddenly his woman just walks out of their bedroom with nothing but his tshirt on, sans underwear. Mikasa intentionally reaches for things in the top shelf and bending over the kitchen counter a little bit more than usual just to tease him. Well, it worked and he had to maintain a straight face when his vidcam is still on with his raging hard-on or while she's sucking him off from underneath their kitchen table. As soon as the Zoom call ends, Mikasa's getting the pounding, I mean, the punishment that she deserves.
There was also that one time when he was in an online gaming party with Armin, Jean and Connie, while an almost naked Mikasa was riding him hard at the same time. The boys still couldn't explain why Reiner was suddenly silent in-game (he said his mic was being weird) and why he was voluntarily sacrificing his character repeatedly while they're in the middle of a boss fight during that session haha
If they're in the kitchen, expect some edibles to add on a little more spice such as ice on his pecs and abs as well as whipping cream all over hers.
BDSM (Both) - including Blindfold, Bondage, Spanking, Dom & Sub subtext
Reiner is a man of strict discipline and Mikasa is a woman with a fixed routine but their sex life reflects both authority and flexibility that balances with their pre-planned kink-exploration techniques. Reiner and Mikasa both take turns to be the giver and receiver. Seriously, the level of trust and carnal attraction between these two are phenomenal.
When she's the one receiving, Mikasa would surrender all of her self control to Reiner's hands and hot damn, when this man is in his dominating mode, Mikasa would end up screaming and biting into the pillow because Reiner can be extremely firm in delaying her gratification. Playing with her like a skilled musician would to his instrument, Reiner knows how Mikasa's body works and responds to his touch. He likes raising her limits higher every time.
This man can be scary manipulative when he's the dom and he will leave her begging for his mercy. He has amazing hands made for comforting massages and well, orgasmic spanking. Their safe word when he's the Dom: DIAMONDS.
Reiner tried addressing himself as 'Daddy' with Mikasa one time before spanking her. Needless to say, she ended up rolling on the bed laughing. That session failed gloriously. She'll made a point, however, to use that specific endearment years down the lane as their secret keyword in front of their kids when Mummy's in the mood for some heavy bonding with Daddy 🙈 In the end, she still calls him 'Daddy' for sex? 🤷♀️ orz
When he's the one receiving, he will be the most hard-to-break sub and lucky for him, Mikasa is a persistent dom. He loves it when he can let go and just be fully vulnerable with her. She will make him kneel, she will make him beg and Reiner loves it when she takes control over him.
He pretended to resist against his restraints even more just so she would inflict on him harder. Although, Reiner has some underlying emotional issues and has some repressed self-aggression with innate desires that need to be 'reprimanded' in a sense. He's a physically strong figure in the public eye but he is emotionally and psychologically vulnerable due to some issues that began in his childhood that was only addressed professionally later on in his young adult life. He also has some attrition to pain that needs to be channeled safely and Mikasa is the only woman who he can be open and honest with, who has strong impenetrable limits to receive and hard resolve to inflict on him when he truly needs it. Their safe word when she's the dom: SPADES.
Usually, after a very intense session, these two would soothe each other with a long, warm embrace or just hold each other for far longer in the showers before pulling themselves back into their neutral zone. They'll usually slip into something much more comfortable afterwards with some comfort food, weighted blanket and streaming services. Reiner and Mikasa both are physically and emotionally built perfectly for each other that it's so surreal. Their bond, love and trust just run even deeper with each passing day that he believes when they sleep, their souls would still be looking for each other.

Sorry it got even longer than I expected but I had super fun thinking & working on this! Thank you so much for the Ask & I hope you've had a memorable celebration this year ❤ xoxo

Dabi NSFW Alphabet
Sexual content ahead! :D please don’t read if it makes you at all uncomfortable and you are not over 18+ thank you!
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex) He’s a sadistic fuck, and if you need something, he won’t be a gentlemen about it. “Go get it yourself. You’ve got legs.” Even if your legs are feeling like jelly from the harsh fucking he’d just done on you, he still won’t go get it for you. Then when you get back... “Hey, think you could get me some water too?” At that point you’ll throw the water you got for yourself at his face, grab your underwear and lock yourself in the shower. When you come out there’s usually a water bottle waiting for you. He just likes seeing you angry.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s) since his skin is burnt up, he doesn’t find himself attractive, and has been called a freak and ugly multiple times. He likes his hands. His hands are where his flames come from and even if he thinks he’s weak, he knows his flames are very powerful. He likes your smile. Cheesy i know. In his dark world your smile brightens up everything, and gives him strength to keep pushing harder. You also support his dream, and when you smile. He knows you’re always by his side even when you aren’t physically.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically) He likes to spread his cum all over you, and cum in your mouth. He likes to look down on you while you’re on your knees in front of him and praise you. “Awe would you look at that? The princess is dirty. This look suits you better.” And when he cums on your back or your stomach, he’ll spread it around with your hand and heat up his hand s little to make you squirm at the feeling of his cum and the heat.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs) He’s sadistic, and his dirty secret is that he wants to burn you. He wants to hold your hips and permanently mark your body with his hands. When he sees you naked, and then looks down at the scarred hand prints on your hips, it’ll make his chest full with pride. It’ll also make a grin spread across his face. “Looks good. Soon enough we’ll match.” Thats a very romantic coming from Dabi.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?) He’s a villain, and because of his scars he runs off everyone. Nobody thinks he’s attractive. But he’s had at minimum one or two experiences, so he’s not a god, but he knows what he’s doing. There’s no scaring on his love parts. That’s a plus. Meeting you though, he’s gotten to unleash his wild side.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying) doggy. Definitely. He will grab your hips with one hand and brutally slam into you while his other hand is around your neck, squeezing it tightly while you beg and choke on your saliva and moans. He’s also a fan of seeing you on top. Laying on his back with his arms behind his head watching you use him to pleasure yourself. It really gets him off.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.) seriously. Never goofy. The thing he does is tease you, mock you, and degrade you, even though he doesn’t mean any of it.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.) He keeps it very well shaved. You never see any stubble ever, it’s almost like he shaves it everyday. His hair colors black right? So why would there be any reason to constantly shave... unless? It’s naturally red and doesn’t want you to know it? :o
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect) he’s a villain, and is not used to being a nice guy. Dating you has made him yearn more for intimacy, but he’s still not affectionate during sex. If he’s upset he’ll be more rough and demanding. If he’s in a good mood he’ll occasionally kiss your shoulders and your hands. Always during sex though, he’ll make out heavily with you. Whether it’s angry or loving.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon) He has other things to focus on rather than sex. He’s usually only ever turned on if you’re there with him doing something lewd, or bending over for him to get a sexy view of your ass. If he does get horny, he’ll tease you after he’s finished. By sending you a text and a teasing picture of his softening cock in is hand with cum spread on his rough hands. “You’re not doing your job. I might have to fire you. Literally.” Of course this is a joke just to get under your skin.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks) Fireplay, Master/Slave, sadist, smacking you (not in an abusive way like spanking, etc.) and likes risk. He’s also not opposed to exhibitionism. If he’s horny and you’re casually talking to Toga or Twice or having a drink with Shigaraki, he will shamelessly pull your pants down and start right there. He wants to use his flames and touch you all over until you’re crying that it hurts and begging him to stop. He likes hurting you, but knows when you’re extremely serious or when you’re just in the moment.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do) anywhere. He doesn’t care. Unless it’s somewhere extremely public with like civilians where they can see and recognize him. He’s a villain after all. People know his face. He doesn’t wanna go to jail for having sex with you in public. He’d rather go to jail for doing a sinister crime. You always help him with getting away though. Sure you’re a good person and not a villain, but you still love the man. You understand his will to follow stains ideology. You agree. Just not with the killing part. He also likes to do it in the bedroom and especially in the bath. Feeling warm water on his scarred skin relaxes him.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going) your ass gets him going, and your waist. He loves dropping things on purpose and watching you bend over to pick it up. He gets especially hard when you’re wearing a skirt and he can see your panties. Another turn on is when you’re wearing a dress or skirt with no panties on underneath. It gets him angry when you’re out in public like that, but then he punishes you and makes you leave it on. Eventually, he’ll burn the skirt off.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs) daddy kink, he has a bad experience with his father so he doesn’t want to be reminded. Threesomes. He’s a bit possessive over you. You’re probably the only good thing in his life and the only person who’s ever stood beside him through every fucked up thing he did. If you did have a threesome, he would have to kill whoever touched you. He’d also be one of those people to get very irritated hearing about your exes and want to kill them.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.) receiving. Like I said before, Dabi is very sadistic and likes to face fuck you. You have to learn how to not have a gag reflex when you decide to engage sexually with the villain. He’ll occasionally give it to you. He’s really good at it, but feels you won’t enjoy it due to his scarred skin. However, you love feeling those staples near his mouth just rub against you giving you a cool sensation. Never gets old.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.) He’s always fast and rough, unless he wants to tease you and make you beg for it. Then he’ll be slow, but harsher than before. Expect your thighs or ass to be red and flushed when he’s done. Sometimes when he’s upset he’ll just ignore foreplay and fuck you as hard as he can to rid himself of his angry thoughts. When you’re upset he’ll try to take things a bit slower, giving you kisses and praising you, which is a bit rare.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.) not opposed to them. But doesn’t do it often. You’re usually away at work while he’s doing villainous stuff, and at night is when you both really get frisky. If you’re about to go to work and he breaks into your house (he has a key) he’ll push you against the wall after you’re already dressed, groomed, and clean. Afterwards, he’ll leave and say thanks, then demand you come see him later. You’re always late to work when that happens.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.) he’s willing to try things at least once. As long as you’re ok with it. He’s gonna tell you what he’s thinking about first and if you’re seriously opposed to it, he won’t, but if there’s a slight on the rail chance, he’ll try and manipulate you to do it. The sex is still always amazing.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?) probably two or three. He lasts a long time. Usually you’ll have came about two or three times before he even cums once. He degrades you about how you don’t make him cum quickly and that you’re too slow. “Better catch up if you wanna keep rollin’ with me, sweetheart.” He mock you, but he loves you.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?) will never let you use any on him. He’d turn whatever it was to ash before it happened. He’s bought toys for you. Sometimes when you go out together to the mall and he’s wearing his big baggy jacket and some glasses to hide his face, he’ll sneakily slide his hands in your pants or up your skirt and slip a vibrator inside and turn it on. It’s his favorite thing to do to make you angry and frustrated.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease) he loves to tease you. If you’ve done something to especially piss him off, sometimes he’ll sneak into your house, or visit you at work looking shady as fuck and over stimulate you until you’re right on the edge of cumming. Then he’ll leave. He passively teases you a lot. “I’m so sore from work... ugh.” “I know something that’ll make you even sorer. Then you won’t be bitching about work and only focusing on me.” He gets jealous.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.) very quiet, but will tease you by moaning and whispering your name in your ear while he fucks you. He grunts and pants a lot, groaning occasionally and making a sly comment on you tightening around him. “Oh, isn’t that something? You’re tightening around me. Are you getting close, sweetheart?” Something that really gets him moaning is when you roughly kiss his scarred skin where his staples are. He’s a little sensitive there and gets embarrassed when you tell him he’s beautiful. He won’t believe you, but do it anyways.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character) likes to buy you clothes. And by buy. I mean steal. Sometimes he rips your panties and you mourn the loss of one of your favorite pairs of panties. You’d think he would steal only sexy underwear. But he mainly tried to get stuff you’re going to be comfortable in. And when you’re about to do it, and he’s taking off your panties and he notices it’s the ones he got you, he’ll feel happy, and won’t rip or burn that pair off. He also likes to get you nice work clothes and jewelry. That way when people see the new outfits you can brag about it and tell them your boyfriend “bought” it for you.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes) He’s pretty big. He’s above average and has girth to him. Sure he hasn’t had a whole lot of experience, but god, sex with him made you feel a certain way. If he ever cums inside you and you stand up afterwards, it’s all coming out, he stretches you perfectly. There’s also no scars or piercings down there.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?) this dude has a very naughty mind when it comes to you. He has a very high sex drive for you. He’s never been interested in sex. He usually had more important things to do. Like committing crimes, taunting heroes, and carrying out orders from Shigaraki as the commander of an elite team of villains.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards) he doesn’t get a lot of sleep, but usually after sex he gets pretty tired. He’ll be laying with you in bed both completely naked under the covers. Your head will be on his chest and he’ll have his arm around you on his back. He’ll nod off and try to stay awake, but eventually he’ll be out like a light. It’s always funny watching him try to stay awake and then falling asleep with his head lulling to the side with his lips parted. It’s very cute.
