"Do you know this girl?"
Wanda lets out a small huff, then leans on the table, her sore cuffed hands resting on the cold surface.
"I'll tell you if you tell me what color those pretty little panties of yours are."
ᱏ
She had killed the Illuminati, the very protectors of your universe. You couldn't understand why she would go after them, they were the ones who were keeping your universe safe and sound. It seemed that the only reason she had for doing this was to gain more power somehow and that's the only thing you got as of now.
But you couldn't help but wonder if she's up to somethingâŠmore or personal? If she isn't after more power, then what is she up to? She could be plotting something far more sinister than anyone could imagine.
Or something she just lost.
As you stand in front of the interrogation room door, your heart is pounding fast, your hands are cold and your breathing hitched.
"I'll get you to talk." You murmured to yourself.
You then took a deep breath before signaling the agents that you are ready, then you watched as the door slowly opened before you. Sitting behind a desk facing you was the most wanted criminal on your planet.
As you stepped inside you examined her, you noticed that her body was covered in a number of devices which were meant to restrain her from using her magical powers. There's something on her temple, something that looked like an electric device. She also had the same thing collared around her neck and in her cuffed hands, you also took note of her blackened fingers. But both her feet seem to be free and in full display. She seemed to be unfazed by all the devices though, despite the fact she looks restrained in almost all parts of her body.
You were one of the top detectives in your field, but you had never seen any of this stuff, let alone be in a high security room with the most wanted criminal in your universe.
"Worried about me? Detective?" She asked as if she could read your mind.
"Comfortable with those on your body?" You huffed lightly, you hoped that you were able to keep a straight face while asking that question. You were doing your best to keep your cool, but it wasn't easy with her looking at you like that. "Sadly, you can only have those removed if you cooperate with me."
Wanda's face started to form a smirk before letting out a small chuckle as if to torment you even more. It was as if she knew exactly what kind of effect she was having on you.
"What about you? I don't think those clothes are comfortable on youâŠ" she spoke with a wolfish grin, "want me to remove them?"
You force yourself to look away from Wanda, your heart rate slightly elevated. You take a deep, subtle breath, trying to compose yourself completely, focusing instead on your mission. There is no room for any distractions right now.
But God, this woman is a breathing distraction.
"Wanda Maximoff, is that your name?" you started, putting down the files you were pretending to fix a while back.
"Yes."
"Where are you from, Wanda?"
Silence.
You pressed on with the same question rephased, "Could you tell me where exactly you came from?"
She still didn't respond. Her eyes were like ice, cold and emotionless. You sighed disappointingly that now made the woman curve her lips upward.
Now, you began to lay out the facts, "You're not from here," you stated. "We've figured that one out. You're not from our universe and you killed our heroes." You slid a photo in front of her, the sound of the paper touching the cold metal table. "Do you know who that is?" It was a cropped photo of her. She was wearing a sweater and wide pants. She had a soft and gentle expression on her face, unlike the cold and emotionless looks she had been giving you so far. You observed how she looked at the photo and there is something you can't put a finger on her expression as she stared at itâjealousy?
"That's me."
"Wrong," you said firmly. You saw her eyes shot through you faster than the lightning. You were pleased that you were finally getting some sort of reaction from her. You could tell that you had caught her off guard. It seems like she wasn't used to being contradicted like this, you'll take note of that.
As a detective, if you cannot get an answer from your culprit you will get a reaction out of them. It was a fun game for you.
You held up another photo, before sliding it down on the table. This one is a closeup shot of her looking eye to eye at one of the monitors of Illuminati headquarters that was recovered. She was covered in blood and her eyes were glowing red.
The photo that has been haunting you since this case was given to you.
She just stared at it like a mirror. Then slowly, she began to tilt her head to the side, imitating the pose in the photoâtaunting you. You could feel her eyes piercing into your soul.
Before you could lose yourself at her stare, you slammed your fingers down the photos. "This is not you, this is the Wanda Maximoff of this universe." You pointed at the photo of her variant with the soft and gentle expression on her face. You slid it towards you before grabbing the photo that is left, which was a photo of her showering in blood, "ThisâŠthis is you."
Silence.
"Happy," you flick the photo of the happy Wanda. "And miserable." You pout, putting down the bloody Wanda in front of her.
Well, your tactics seemed to be not working. Because silence is all you got.
You took a deep breath and spoke again, trying to keep your frustration in check. "I'm going to ask you again, why are you here in my universe?" You stared at her expectantly, hoping for some kind of response this time. But Wanda remained silent, her face impassive as she stared back at you.
You were just starting, you just got here for like twenty minutes. Usually, during this part of interrogation you aren't frustrated yet unless you didn't have your pack of gummies before you started. You still should be cool and calm, but right now? You don't think you are at all.
She seemed to relish in your frustration. Taking pleasure in watching you struggle to get a straight answer out of her. This only added to your growing annoyance, making you wonder how long you could keep up this interrogation without losing your temper completely.
"Don't breathe too hard, detka."
You swear to your dead grandparents, you are going to lose it.
Your face flushed red like a fool, stomach was in knots as you tried to ignore the growing feeling of something you will slap yourself about.
Now, you managed to compose yourself back again, it's your turn to be silent. Fun games for you to playâthe silent game where you'll sit on your chair while the culprit moves themselves in every way they could think of, walk, sit on the floor until their ass gets sore while you sit comfortably on your chair and this will go on for long painful hours. You've got to have years of training before you can master it.
So you sat comfortably, not saying anything. You waited to see what she would say or do next. But it seems like she was playing a waiting game as well, trying to see who would break first.
The two of you only sat in silence but the tension was too obvious in the small suffocating metal room.
You looked up from your file folder over and over again, taking notes of everything you got so far and that is the unknown name she had given youâdetka. Now, you blinked as you realized how much time had passed. Your eyes shifted to Wanda and you noticed that she was tapping her blackened fingers impatiently on the table. It was clear that she was growing restless.
Good, you told yourself before getting back to your papers. One thing you're sure about is you have been here over and over, you had sat in a small cramped room for ten to twenty four hours half of your life. You're used to it. You do it for a living.
You'll last longer than she will.
"Detective Y/L/N, we got something for you." You heard through the comms of the suffocating room.
You got up and went to the door, waiting as a folder was delivered through a small opening of the door. As you walked back to the table, you couldn't shake off the feeling that Wanda was watching you intently. You tried to ignore it, focusing on the folder in front of you. But the weight of her gaze made the hairs on your neck rise. You glanced up at her, and sure enough, she was staring at you, a smirk written all over her face.
"It's quite disappointing I am not unwrapping something," she commented suggestively as she watched you unwrap the manila envelope on your hands. Then, her gaze drifted up to your lips and to your chest, your cleavage showing slightly on your low cut blouse that seemed to be taunting her from the moment you had stepped into the room.
Your jaw tensed as you tried to ignore the effect her nonsense comments were having on you, you tried to remain focused and professional, but you couldn't deny the heat building between your thighs.
You shame yourself.
You crossed your legs awkwardly, trying to conceal your discomfort. Wanda's smirk only grew wider when she noticed your movement. You could feel her eyes on you, and you wondered if she could tell how this back-and-forth was affecting you. Your mind raced, trying to come up with a way to regain control of the situation without giving her any more satisfaction. So you just decided to shift the focus of the conversation back to the interrogation. You examined a photo of a young girl wearing a denim jacket, taking note of a slight glow on her knuckles before showing it to Wanda.
"Do you know this girl?"
Wanda lets out a small huff, then leans on the table, her sore cuffed hands resting on the cold surface.
"I'll tell you if you tell me what color those pretty little panties of yours are."
"Who is this man?" you pushed another photo towards her that you weren't even able to see first just so you could dismiss her painful teasing, hoping to shift the conversation back to your hands because clearly, it's in hers.
"You want answers? Come on, detective, it's a simple question. Red? Black? Maybe something a little more innocent, like pinâ"
"If stupidity is the only thing that will come out of your dirty mouth, then don't talk to me or don't speak, at all." You finally snapped, "I had asked you simple questions as well but I think you're too dumb to answer them since you're all silent." You knew that this was a low blow, but you couldn't help but feel a sense of gratification as you threw her own words back at her.
But still, you didn't last long.
You gathered the papers, folders, and envelopes in front of you, you couldn't help but feel Wanda's venomous glare burning into you. When you glanced up at her, you gulped by the sight of her face. Her expression was a picture of barely contained fury, suddenly feeling like prey being stalked by a predatorâlike the photo of her showering in blood. You immediately avoided her fiery gaze, you swore you saw it flicker red. You shake your head and take a hold of your documents.
You couldn't believe she had gotten the best of you in this interrogation and you only got defeated and frustrated. All you can do is huff, straightening your collar and smoothing your hair as you try to regain a sense of composure and the little shame that this investigation left you. You glanced towards the two-way mirror, knowing that the other agents and your colleagues were watching this whole ordeal unfold. They watched as you got humiliated by this multiversal criminal.
Taking a deep breath, you spoke up, your voice firm and decisive. "I think I am done here," you said, signaling them to open the door for you. But before you could even step outside, Wanda suddenly spoke up, her voice cutting through the tension in the room like a knife.
"It's not stupidity if it's all true," her words dripping with a cold and thick accent you are not familiar with that sent shivers down your spine.
You knit your brows together but you didn't turn around because you knew you would only see the annoying smirk plastered on her face.
"Victoria's secret, it's lacy and has a floral pattern, scarlet. And it's wet."
You clenched your jaw tightly, your nostrils flaring in anger. Now, you felt violated and humiliated, she had really gotten under your skin in a way that no one else had ever managed before.
As the door shut behind you, you felt a sense of relief at finally getting some distance from her, and you took a few deep breaths to try and calm yourself downâa routine you usually do.
"You okay?" Natasha immediately asked, removing her leather jacket and placing it on your shoulders, "I swear, allow me to do this."
Wanda rose from her chair and tried her best to stretch, trying to pop and shift some bones in her restrained neck and her back. Her movements were slow and deliberate, as if she was savoring the moment. Then, she walked towards the one-way glass mirror.
"No, Nat. If I allow that to happen one of you will come out in that room in a body bag." You walked to put your files down briefly staring at Wanda who was now hovering closely to the mirror.
Natasha then grabbed you by your right arm, her face dangerously close on yours. She clearly didn't like how this multiversal criminal talked to you. "And who do you think that will be?" Natasha asked intimidatingly.
You just huffed playfully, rolling your eyes on her making Natasha let out a few laugh.
"Are you sure those devices are really working on her?"
"Well, we don't know where she's from or what entity she really is. So we don't really know what else she can do," Natasha said and you already know that fact. "As of now it is the highest and most secure restraining device that they have. At least that's what they told me. Why?"
Well, you don't think it is working or restraining her powers at all.
Natasha didn't speak as if she already knew what's going on in your mind. "So it's true?"
"What is?" You asked as you crouched down to your bag, stuffing all the heavy documents you had dragged to and fro wherever you go.
"What she said."
"Natasha, she said nothing but taunt andâ"
"Eye fuck you, yes."
Humiliate, humiliate is what you were going to say.
"The last thing she said, was it true?"
Natasha's question hung in the air, you found yourself frozen in place, your mind racing to come up with an appropriate response. You then slowly turned around and your eyes first landed on Wanda. You still have no idea if she can hear or see everything despite her being locked inside, but you can see her staring right at you as if she can see you through the one-way mirror. Now, you are both staring at each other even with the glass standing against the two of you.
Guess there is only one way to find out.
"Why don't you drop by later and find out, agent?"
You stepped back, almost like a flinch as you watched Wanda hit the mirror with her cuffed hands, her jaw shaking and her eyes flickering with a terrifying red glow, as if the rage within her had taken on a life of its own.
Now that you know how much effect you have on her, and how you figured out how she playsâyou will play her game with your own hands.
Play the game or the game plays you.
ᱏ
Your fingers flew over the keyboard of your laptop as you delved into the files that had been recovered from the headquarters of the Illuminati. The video footage was particularly compelling, showing Wanda's abilities at their most devastating. You watched in horror as she unleashed a barrage of powerful magic, tearing through the ranks of the Illuminati with ease.
Black Bolt was killed having his mouth covered.
Captain Carter was cut in half with her shield.
Reed Richard was grated to death.
Photon was blasted with her own powers and was crushed by a statue.
And Professor X's neck was snapped by Wanda after what you think was a telepathic duel.
"Why did you do all this, Wanda Maximoff?" You whispered to yourself.
You knew that what had happened there was unprecedented and that the implications were far-reaching. Another set of evidence was given to you stating where this multiversal criminal was, Earth-616âfrom a different reality. With the Illuminati gone, multiversal travel was impossible, and the potential for catastrophic consequences seemed to loom around every turn with her being in your reality.
You watched another video footage of a young girl who was clearly in the throes of something far beyond her control. The way she was running and in a second she was being consumed by a star-figured portal she made herself, as if her own power was turning on her, devouring her from within.
A theory now begins to take shape in your mind. You theorized that perhaps Wanda was here in your universe because of the young girl. But again, it would always fall back onto why Wanda killed your world's mightiest heroes.
"Think, Y/N. C'mon."
As a seasoned detective, you couldn't help but consider all angles and possibilities. Then, another theory popped, what if Wanda used the girl to get to your universe? But the question that nagged at you this time was why she would do such a thing. What was her motive? Was she trying to escape from her own universe or did she have some greater purpose in mind? The uncertainty of it all made your mind tangle, as you desperately tried to piece together the puzzle that was Wanda Maximoff of Earth-616.
"What do you want?" You whispered, your gaze was locked repeating the footage of Wanda going on to Illuminati one by one.
ᱏ
"Thank you for meeting me."
Wanda nodded in acknowledgement, as she locked the door of the cafe behind you. You carefully watched her actions and movements as you followed her. And as a detective yourself it was your nature to observe and it was clear that she was a bit nervous, a far cry from the confident and aggressive that is her variant.
She led you to a small table for two, as you two finally settled in, you spoke.
"So, uhm. I'm detective Y/N and I think you knoâ"
"I-I know who you are, I know what happened," Wanda interjected, cutting you off mid-sentence. Her tone was sharp and clipped, as if she had already anticipated your attempt to broach the topic of the devastating events that had transpired within the week. "You don't need to repeat it all over again," she said with finality.
It was all over the news for days now, hell it would be for the next few years. The death of the World's mightiest heroes and footage of the one who killed them, which was herânot technically her but her variant from another universe.
"I have received threats and so are my children. I had to close my shop since then," your gaze darted around the surroundings. Before you got in, you'd seen the words "murderer, witch, killer, anti-hero," painted on the shop's windows in bold, aggressive strokes.
"ButâŠI have nothing to do with it," Wanda's voice trembled with emotion, you could hear the undeniable anguish in her words. "There would be times that I can't control my powers and it frightens me. My body was present but my mind was something else...someone else," she continued, her voice growing fainter, almost like a distant echo. "I had glimpses of a starâŠmore like a portal, a shattered mirror and a book. But it'sâŠI swear, it's not me I have nothing to do with it."
"Hey, it'sâ" you carefully edge in. But she quickly stopped you.
"No, I want to get this over with. I just want my children to be safe." She looked at you with glossy eyes. She looks so tired and defeated. "I used to dream every night," she continued, her words tumbling out rapidly, "I wasâŠI was happy, I was with my children, I was in control of everything. But then it's gone. I put my kids to sleep then everything slowly started to disappear, I watched it. I watched everything I created, everything I loved disappear right in front of me."
"You lost your childrenâŠ" you whispered unintentionally.
"Not me, I'm with my children," Wanda shook her head lightly before looking at you.
"It's not you who lost themâŠ"
It struck you deeply, and suddenly, the pieces started to fall into place.
"What we see in our dreams are what is happening on our alternative selves. They may not be our exact selves, but they're our counterparts from different universes, and when we sleep, we inadvertently tap into their experiences."
"H-how sure are you about that?"
"I came to my old mentor, I told her everything about it. She might give you better answers than I do, I stopped learning more about my powers since I retired," She paused briefly, her gaze dropping to the ground. "Besides, IâŠI'm just a sitting duck variant here."
"Heyâ" you blinked when she handed you a piece of paper. Stopping your attempt to comfort once again.
"I don't need it. Here is the address if you still need answers. That's all I can give you."
She stood and you panicked, you hurried after her. As she reached the door, she turned to face you for a brief moment, her expression unreadable. Before you could utter a polite goodbye, she had already shut the door behind you, leaving you standing in the cold street.
You took an exasperated sigh, then, you quickly pulled out your phone and dialed Natasha's number, asking her to send some SHIELD agents to keep an eye on Wanda and her kids for protection. After the call, you felt lost, it's like you're close to hitting a brick wall, but then you remembered the paper Wanda gave you.
"This sounds like a sham."
ᱏ
"What are you doing here in our universe?" Natasha asked for God knows how many times now. But Wanda remained silent.
She unbuttons her suit jacket, revealing her holstered gun. She watches Wanda's silent form, she is unfazedâunthreatened. She wishes you were here, with how easily you extracted information just using your eyes and laughter. How your disarming smiles could crack even the hardest facades, including hers.
"Was I right?" Natasha freezes, surprised by Wanda's sudden voice.
"What?" Natasha responds sharply, trying to hide her shock. "What did you say?" She watches Wanda closely. Her eyes are no longer empty. They're stormy and intense. "Right about what?"
"C'mon you know what I am talking about." Wanda's eyes crinkled to the side. And Natasha's eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the smirk, remembering the last thing this criminal had said about you before you got out of the first interrogation. Natasha catches herself slowly smirking as well before she can stop it, leaning back confidently in her chair. She hoped this play of hers would look natural.
"Not going to lie, it was impressive 'cause you were right about it. Saw it upclose, it was black, lacy Victoria's Secret, and it's wetâfor me."
"It's red." Wanda immediately corrected, the colors of Natasha's face started to drain in embarrassment. "Dark red," She emphasizes, "Almost burgundy, like wine...or blood." She grins mischievously, enjoying how the agent in front of her clenched her jaw.
Natasha intended for it to look like she indeed saw what you were wearing that day. You even told her to come to your place and find out even though she knew it was just a play to get something out of this criminal, only for the two of you to do nothing but investigate and investigate. She even bought wine! But since then you had made it clear to her, that you two cannot be a thingâthat she's just a friend.
"Listen here, you twisted criminal," Natasha strided and grabbed Wanda by the collar of her prison suit, pulling her closer. "Try to disrespect her like that once again, you will never be back in your universe again."
Wanda laughed despite Natasha's threat. "In just one snap I can go through your mind and see the very not-so-respectful things your twisted brain has thought of doing to your boss," she spoke calmly, unfazed by Natasha's grip on her collar and how close their faces were to each other.
"Give me your boss or you'll get nothing from me."
ᱏ
You find yourself standing in front of a quaint, old-fashioned shop, nestled between two larger buildings. The sign above the door reads "Madam Calderu's Psychic Readings" in a flowery, Victorian script. As you push open the heavy wooden door, a bell chimes merrily, announcing your arrival. The shop is dimly lit, filled with an eclectic mix of incense burners, crystal balls on a small, round table.
Before you can take in your surroundings properly, you hear a sudden scream.
Your hand goes for your holster, gun drawn instinctively. The woman freezes, seeing the gun pointed at her. "Wait!" She throws up her hands, the shawl falling back to reveal a middle-aged woman with sharp features and piercing dark eyes. The woman's gaze locks onto yours, and for a moment, it's as if she's peering right through you, seeing something that only she can comprehend. Her eyes widen slightly, and she takes a step closer, her voice dropping to a hushed whisper.
"YouâŠ"
Taking a deep breath, she forces a calming smile. "I apologize, dear. You just gave me quite the surprise. Please, have a seat. I am Madam Calderu."
Even though something about this feels offâhell, everything about this feels off, you holster your gun and take a seat at the nearest table. The smooth wood is cool to the touch, just like her hands when she places them palm-up on the table.
"What's your name, dear?"
Her eyes seem to pierce through you as she awaits your response. There's a strange intensity to her gaze, like she's trying to unravel the very fabric of your existence.
"Y/NâŠ" you were about to get your badge to show her that you are a detective but she gently stopped you.
"Y/N, no need for that," She repeats softly as if she already knows what you really are.
The goosebumps you're feeling made you want to finish whatever this is. "I am here about Wanda Maximoff."
"Which one?" She asks, laying out a spread of cards you thought are tarot cards across the table.
"What? Wh-what do you mean which one? Hey I-I am not here for that." You rushed out, but she already flipped a card.
"The Fool. BareâŠuntouched, pure." You cringe slightly, what a nice way to say you are a virginâŠwhich you truly are. "You are going to bring a new life."
"W-what?"
She turned to another card that was placed vertically. "The Hermit. You're in deep search for something. The Devil, upright. You are bound...constrained by circumstances beyond your control." Another card was flipped. "The Empress Meaning, upright. You are a vesselâŠmeant to contain something immense, powerful. But you're unprepared. A fragile container for a force that could shatter you at any moment."
The last card made her eyes widened as she saw the imageâa hanged man suspended upside down from a tree, with his right foot bound and his left foot free. "Someone is after youâŠ" She mutters under her breath, then she looks at you who was in a deep frown, images of something redâŠa crown, something powerful flashed her mind that made her scream. You immediately took a hold of her hands with yours, as if you pulled her out of her nightmare, she stopped screaming but she was breathing hard.
"You wait here, young lady." She stood, shaking as she rushed from her seat disappearing through the string curtains.
The room grows silent again as you wait for Madame Calderu to return. Your phone suddenly rings, making you jump slightly. You pull it out, seeing Natasha's number.
"Romanoff."
"She wants you."
Realizing what she meant, you shifted on your seat in frustration. "Romanoff, I told you not toâŠ" you didn't finish, sighing defeatedly knowing that scolding Natasha would get you nowhere. She had always been like this, stubborn and would sometimes go against you and your higher ups. "I'll be there." You say, ending the call and tucking the phone back into your pocket.
Madam Calderu came rushing back with a wooden rectangular sigil in her hand only to see a 20 dollar bill on top of the table.
You were gone.
ᱏ
"Y/N, I'm sorry." Natasha followed you behind as you strided toward the interrogation room. You have not been giving her any words or any blink of an eye as you arrived. And she has been apologizing, following you around like a lost puppy.
"I want you out of this case, Romanoff. This is not the only time you went against my orders." You say with finality before disappearing behind the door of the interrogation room, not wanting to hear any of her reactions.
You took deep breaths before you turned around and saw how the criminal had been staring at you. She was wearing a wolfish grin, elbows on top of the table while her cuffed hands together were in the air.
"How are you holding up?" You asked, much calmer like you were the first time.
"I'm good, detective." She said, simply. "I'm good now that you're here."
"I could say that." You quipped, making her let out a few chuckles that made your stomach flutter.
"I didn't like the attitude you have the last time we saw each other."
"Well, I didn't like how you didn't cooperate with me."
Wanda smirks teasingly, her black fingernails tapping against the metal table. "I missed you, detective," she purrs softly, her voice dropping an octave. She manspread her legs slightly under the table, unnoticed by you.
You respond in a neutral tone, your expression giving nothing away. "I could say that," you repeated, never breaking eye contact with the criminal.
She chuckles softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement. She leans forward slightly, the movement subtle yet intentional. "Didn't you miss me too?" She just threw you a bone, looking for a reactionâany reaction. She watches your face carefully, eyes picking up every tiny muscle twitch. She sees your jaw tighten slightly, your shoulders stiffen. She notes how you never left her gaze, how you keep your voice neutral and unreadable.
But then, you remained composed. Chuckling but you didn't give any response to her question, instead you answered with a question yourself.
"Wanda, have you had dreams?"
She frowned before huffing softly, but failed to hide the slight uptick in her lips. She leans back slightly, her gaze drifting away before slowly returning to meet yours.
"It's here, right in front of me."
As Wanda answered, a smirk tugged at the corners of your mouth draws Wanda's attention back to your face. She sees the genuine smile hiding behind the smirk, and it makes her pause. She's not used to seeing genuine smiles, especially not directed at her. Wanda's eyes linger on your smile, her gaze seeming to drink in the sight. She notices the way your indifference during the first interrogation melts away, replaced by something warmer. Something that makes Wanda's heart skip a beat.
"Have you lost someone?" You asked another question, much personal this time. But silence was the only answer you got back from Wanda. You expected for it to not work for now but you know that eventually, later on, you will get something out from herâyou will make her say something.
"I used to have dreams, Wanda." When the words escape your lips, you see Wanda's eyes widen slightly, hanging onto each word. "I dream of my kids, and I dream about losing them every single time." You continued. Your dreams have become a nightly ritual, an obsession. Every night, you relive the same scene, sitting on the couch, surrounded by laughter, playful shouts and calls for youâtheir mommy. You're surrounded by your children, their faces blurry but their joy unmistakable. And then, next thing you know is you're awake in an empty bed, no signs of your children.
"Every time?" She asks, already knowing the answer.
You hesitate, then nod. "Like clockwork. I see them, hear them. They feel so realâŠ" You trail off, smiling at the memories. "Then they're gone." You add softly, unconsciously wrapping your arms around yourself. Wanda swallows hard, her fingers twitching slightly. "It's funny because I don't even want kids, but after those dreams, when I wake up the first thing I expect to see is them beside me."
As she sits there, watching you wrestle with the ghosts of your dream children, she feels an unfamiliar pull. She's seen the same thing in her own dreamsâblurry faces, laughter that turns to silence.
"Every night the same dream, every morning the same nightmare." She murmured under her breath.
For the first time since you've seen her, Wanda's mask completely slips.
"I can say the same, Y/N. I've lost people I lovedâŠbut I am here to get them back now."
Bingo.
Wanda blinks, momentarily taken aback as she watches you rise, a flicker of confusion passing over her face.
"I'm so sorry for your loss, Wanda." You say before disappearing, leaving her alone in the cold room.
ᱏ
Later that night, as the prison settles into a quiet routine, you find yourself back at your apartment.
You pour yourself a glass of wine, the cool liquid sliding down your throat as you relax on your couch. This case has been tough, but tonight, you finally made a huge progress. She had opened up, shown emotion. You smile smugly to yourself, confident that tomorrow, with your newfound insight, you'll finally break the case wide open.
You finish your glass of wine, feeling tired. You've had a long day of investigating and interrogating. You let out a breath, your body relaxing as you slide into bed in your silk nightgown. You close your eyes, ready for sleep. But you felt dizzy. As the room spins around you, suddenly, unmistakably, you hear itâlaughter. The clear, joyous laughter of children echoes through your darkened bedroom. Your eyes fly open, but the sound doesn't stop. It surrounds you, bouncing off the walls, growing louder.
Figures begin to take shape right before your eyes. Two boysâthe same children from your dreams. They're laughing, their faces fully visible this time, and they're reaching out their little hands towards you.
"Mommy!" You laugh, reaching to them.
But then, in an instant their laughter turns cold, their smiles disappearing as they hiss, "Mommy, go away! Run, Mommy, run!" They push you back, their small hands shoving you towards the bed. You saw a glowing figure just outside your door, a woman with horns in her headâglowing red.
Your kids continued to scream, "Run! Mommy!"
Your heart was pounding in your chest, you wrapped your arms around your children, pulling them close. You can feel their small bodies shaking, mirroring your own fear.
"Mommy, go." The first boy whispered.
"You have to go now, mommy." The other one said.
But you didn't let go of them. The footsteps grew louder and the figure was just right beside your bed. Blocking out the light on the hallway of your room.
You jolt upright in bed, your nightgown damp with sweat. You pant, looking around your room. No children, no figure. Just you and your phone ringing loud.
"Y/N," Maria's voice is tight, "Wanda escaped. We don't know how but we need you here. Now."
"2800 Sherwood Street, Eastview." You rattled out. Your heart pounds in your ears as you stand still. "Maria, 616 is after 818's kids, she might be on her way to get them now. Target is the variant Wanda of Earth-616. Presumed armed and dangerous. Objective: Contain and capture." You stood, walking to where your closet is, "Eliminate if you have to." You ended the call swiftly, pulling on your tactical gearâbulletproof vest, cargo pants, combat boots out of your cabinet.
When you were about to get undressed, there was a figure that loomed over your room's doorway. You can't be wrong but it was the same figure you saw in your dreams just a while back. A woman with little horns, glowing red.
As you sweep the hallway, you think you're alone. But then, a movement catches your eyeâa shadow darting between rooms. You turned around, gun raised, heart pounding. "Who's there?" You call out, voice echoing through the empty house. Then, a shadow appeared right at the end of your hallway and it started crawling to your direction. Without thinking, you spin around and dash back to your bedroom, slamming the door shut behind you. You lock it immediately, and aim your gun straight at the door as you step back.
You felt an energy behind you so you whirl around, gun still pointed at the air, only to find yourself face to face with the towering figure. It looms over you, the red light pulsing violently. Your hands tremble slightly as you raise the gun higher, aiming at the center of the shadowy mass. You gasp, eyes widening as you recognize the features hidden beneath the glowing shadow.
"W-Wanda?" Your voice is barely a whisper.
Her blackened fingers extend, reaching to the gun aiming at her and it disappears in a flash of dark energy. Before you could react, she snapped and in an instant you were up in the air. An unseen force lifts you off the ground, suspending you in mid-air with an invisible restraint tying your feet and hands. You struggle, legs kicking uselessly as you float higher but her eyes glow with an intensity you've never seen before, almost burning with the red energy that surrounds her. She watches you like a predator eyeing its preyâcalculated, intense, and completely focused.
"Miss me?"
"What are you doing?" You manage to choke out, heart is now hammering to get out of your chest as you stare into her glowing eyes. Her appearance is disturbing; she wears a crown that looks like horns, and a suit that looks like it was drenched in blood. The red energy seems to be seeping from her very pores. Her features are still beautiful, but twisted into something dark and terrifying.
"To get what I lost."
Your frown deepens as you process her words.
Then, a chill laughter escaped her lips. "I thought you already figured it out, detective," she says mockingly, her voice dripping with condescension. "You're supposed to be the smart one. The one who sees through every lie and unravels every mystery." She leans in closer, her face inches from yours as you elevate in the air. "But you've got it all wrong."
Your mind races, trying desperately to connect the dots. Your detective mind isn't working at the moment and she tilts her head, studying your baffled expression with cruel amusement. Her blackened fingers gently caress your cheek, tracing the line of your jaw. "You really don't get it, do you?" She murmurs, her touch icy cold. Her fingers started to caress your stomach. "Let me give you a hint...what's the same thing we lost every time we close our eyes?"
Your kids. Her kids.
You shake your head, trying to clear the confusion. "ButâŠI-I don't have your kids, Wanda."
"Oh, you will." Her voice drops to a threatening whisper as she snaps her fingers again. In an instant, you find yourself falling backward onto your bed, the familiar indentation of your pillow against your head. Wanda begins to crawl up your body, her blackened fingers digging into the blankets, pulling her closer. Her face hovers above yours, her twisted crown casting ominous shadows on the walls. "Now, let's make them, shall we?"
You squeeze your eyes shut, praying desperately that this is all just a nightmare. But as Wanda's cold hands begin to roam over your chest, pulling the knots of your nightgown, you realize with a sinking heart that this is no dream. This is terrifyingly, undeniably real.
"Open your eyes."
A shiver runs down your spine as the cold air hits your bare skin. You have nothing under your nightgown, just your lacy panties. You're exposed, vulnerable, lying naked beneath her. She takes a moment to admire the sight, her red eyes burning with a fierce intensity. "I knew you're more beautiful without clothes," she murmurs, tracing a finger down your chest. She then squeezes them roughly, pinching your nipples between her fingers until you gasp in pain. Her other hand reaches up to grab your throat, squeezing tightly as she attacks your chest with a frenzy of kisses and bites.
You arch your back in pain as Wanda's cold hands maul your breasts, her fingers digging into your flesh like claws. Her hand around your throat tightens, cutting off your air supply as she nuzzles her face between your breasts, inhaling your scent deeply. Your body goes limp beneath hers. You spread your legs wider, letting her settle deeper between your thighs. Your arms lift up, wrapping around her neck possessively. You whimper softly as she bites down hard on your collarbone.
Her fingers slip beneath the lacy fabric of your underwear and immediately find their way inside your warmth. You gasp at the sudden intrusion, her skin so cold it burns against your sensitive flesh. She begins to move her fingers in and out of you brutally, ignoring your cries. She silences you with a brutal kiss, her cold fingers continuing their relentless assault on your insides. Her thumb finds your clit, pressing down hard as she forces another finger inside you. You feel yourself stretching to accommodate her blackened fingers, your body trembling with a mix of pain and pleasure.
You should be fighting, clawing, biting, anything to make her stop. Instead, you find yourself wrapping your legs around her waist, pulling her closer as she invades your cunt with cold, blackened fingers.
Letting her darkness in.
"Hng Wanda..." You whimpered.
She smirks wickedly as she hears you cry out her name, your pleasured gasps mingling with anguished moans. Her eyes glitter with cruel triumph. "Say my name again," she commands.
"W-WandaâŠ" You stuttered.
Then, she curled her fingers inside you agonizingly slow, hitting that perfect spot. "Louder."
"Fuck! Wanda!"
Just as you're about to release the coil on your stomach, she pulls her fingers out of you suddenly, leaving you gaping and empty. You whimper in protest, but before you can even process what's happening, she shoves two of her blackened fingers into your mouth instead.
"Suck."
Magic crackles in the air as Wanda presses her blackened fingers against your lips, demanding obedience. Shimmering sparks dance before your eyes before you reluctantly close them, submitting as your mouth envelops her fingers. The metallic taste of chaos magic and your wetness coats your tongue, making you shudder.
She pulls her fingers free from your mouth, leaving behind trails of dark magic. Kneeling between your legs, she lets you see the crimson strap-on secured around her waistâit looked so real, enchanted.
As you finally register what's happening, adrenaline shoots through your veins. Your body goes instantly rigid, eyes wide with realization and fear.
"No..." you whimper, trying to close your legs, but she holds them firmly open with her knees. The alarm bells in your mind scream to fight back.
With a cruel smile, she rips your delicate underwear to shreds, discarding the remains aside. She grabs your thighs tightly, spreading your legs as far apart as they'll go. The enchanted strap-on hangs between her legs, the chaos runes pulsing with dark energy.
"It's time to make what we lost."
She rubs the tip against your wet entrance, coating it with your arousal. You watch in horror as she throws her head back, moaning softly. "You're so tight, around my cock," she hisses, gripping your hips. Without warning, she snaps her hips forward, burying the entire length inside you brutally. She shushes your cries, her free hand caressing your cheek, kissing your forehead soothingly as she continues to brutally thrust the strap-on into you with each heartbeat. With every painful push, you let out a little whimper, your body trembling beneath hers.
"It hurts, WandaâŠ" you sobbed.
"I know, detka." She placed her forehead against yours before kissing them again, her thumb gently stroking your cheek as she continued to ravage you with the cock. "It's supposed to hurt." She murmurs against your forehead, "This pain will remind you who you belong to now." As she continues to brutally thrust into you, she starts to feel pleasure from the enchanted device. The chaos runes absorb your pain and convert it into dark energy, feeding into Wanda. She moans softly, nuzzling your face, "You're hurting so nicelyâŠ" The pleasure builds inside her, her hips snapping forward with increased force, the strap-on plunging deeper into your torn and stretched flesh. She buries her face in your neck, kissing and biting your skin as she chases her orgasm. "I'm going to cum inside you, my love."
All you can feel is the relentless pain, your body bruised and your pussy battered by her cock. But despite the agony, you nod dumbly, willing to take whatever she gives you. "Yes, Wanda," you manage to whisper, your voice hoarse from crying. "Please, please."
She presses a palm firmly against your stomach, feeling the prominent bulge of the strap-on inside you. "Feel that, detka? Feel how deep I am?" She pants harshly, her hips grinding against yours. "You'll be filled with my cum, marked from the inside out."
"Then, we will never lose them again."
"PleaseâŠI don't wanna lose them again, Wanda. Please, give me my kids. G-give me your babies."
Your statement throws her over the edge. She groans loudly, her body tensing as she forces her cock deep inside you, releasing wave after wave of hot, enchanted seed. The chaos runes pulse dangerously, filling your womb with dark energy.
She collapses onto you, panting heavily as she caresses your stomach, feeling the warmth of her release inside you.
"Our kidsâŠ" she slipped out of you. Making you whimper from the empty feeling. Then, her hand slowly trailed down to your pussy, feeling the wetness of her cum mixing with yours as she pushed it back inside you.
"We'll never lose them again."
ᱏ
You blinked groggily as you stirred awake in your bedroom decorated in a vintage 1950s style. A silky nightgown slips off one shoulder as you sit up slowly. You stare at the two boys beside you, your heart swelling with love. And your dear wife, Wanda lies in between them, her hand protectively resting on the boys' backs, a soft smile on her sleeping face.
Feeling you're moving away, Wanda calls out softly, stirring in her sleep. "Hey, mommy." She carefully removes her arms from around the twins, ensuring they don't wake up.
"Hey." You greeted back, groaning as you finally managed to stand. Wanda immediately rounded the bed to get to you.
"Mmm, good morning, my love." Before you can say a word, she leans in to press a tender kiss to your lips. She took your hands as she sat back on the bed. Then, blackened fingers slide down to your swollen stomach, you laugh, guiding her head as she leans down to kiss your bump.
"Good morning, little one," she coos. "We can't wait to meet you soon."

Author's Note: This was supposed to have an angsty ending but I remember promising someone here to write a Wanda fic w happy ending.
I just want to inform everyone that this might be the last fic I will be posting. I will be on hiatus since I have been missing school a lot due to health issues and I need to keep up and get back on track. Every series/fics of mine will be put on hold for a while, but I promise that the first thing I'll post when I get back are updates on them. I'll see you all around :)))

Coloring anon here, yes, I would definitely like to know more about how you color frame by frame and the other techniques you mentioned! It would be much appreciated, thank you!
Hi anon! I'd be happy to go over my preferred methods for colouring!
First resort (ideal):
Painting over shots with little movement (the first method in this tutorial)
Colour manipulation using selective colours (the second method in this tutorial; alternate tutorial -> i also sometimes add a hue/saturation layer on top to manipulate the cyans/blues as well)
Second resort:
Keyframes for shots with consistent movement where it's easy to hide "imperfections" (tutorial 1, tutorial 2)
Last resort:
Frame by frame colouring -> DISCLAIMER: the way I do this method is the easiest way I've gotten it to work for me but that also means that it's very inflexible when it comes to editing any of the colouring afterwards. Once you start colouring in frame animation mode you're basically locked in so you need your gifs to be exactly the way you want them prior to adding your colour
So in this tutorial I'll go over how I do my frame by frame colouring as well as how I create actions to automate the repetitive parts of this process! (Some resources that explain how to create actions are here: 1 2)
To use the select subject feature you will need Photoshop CC 2018 or later
Step 1: Preparing your gif with base colouring
So first you want to do your base colouring for your gif in timeline mode, which I've explained here. I keep my gifs short (ideally 40 frames or less) since this colouring process is tedious!
I make sure that in my hue/saturation layer, I turn the saturation in the yellow, green, cyan, and blue tabs all down to -100 (and for the yellows I usually add around +20 to +60 in lightness)
Here's my gif with the base colouring that I'll be starting with:
Note: turning down the saturation in almost all the colours gives you that nice silver/grey neutral background to paint on top of. It's a lot less noticeable when your painted layers aren't perfect
Step 2: Converting to Frame Animation Mode
I use the save action from this action pack to convert my gif from timeline mode to frame animation mode.
You cannot edit your base colouring from this point onwards!
Step 3: Using Select Subject
If you're recording an action this is the step you would *start recording*
This is what your window should look like:
Making sure your first frame and first layer are selected, go to Select at the top of your window and click Subject
You should then see the marching ants outline around the person in your gif
You then want to create a new solid colour fill layer (which can be found when you click that little circle icon at the bottom of your layers panel), and set the layer blending mode to colour.
The layer mask will automatically be created since you had the marching ants outline.
Since my person is in colour and not the background, I want to invert the layer mask by clicking on it and using command + i (or ctrl + i), and now this is what it looks like:
Note: Select subject isn't always perfect!!!, depending on how cluttered the scene is and how much contrast there is between your person and the background, select subject could either do a really good job like it did here, or screw up a little like it did here:
That's okay though because it still gives us a good base to start from! We can fix any issues by painting with black and white brushes on the layer mask.
Step 3.5: Create clipping mask
Thanks to @wolfchans for telling me about this because it gives us back a little bit of flexibility when colouring frame by frame! Instead of merging down, we can make a clipping mask instead. Right click the solid colour fill layer and select create clipping mask.
If you're recording an action, it's at this point where I would *stop recording*
Step 4: Fixing the layer mask if needed
So now I want his jacket and t-shirt to also be purple, and to show his fingers behind the glass. I make sure the layer mask is selected, and paint with a brush at 60-70% hardness (painting with black erases the colour, painting with white shows the colour). User smaller brush sizes to paint smaller details!
This is what my canvas and layer mask look like now.
Step 5: Repeat
Now I click on my second frame and second layer, and repeat steps 3-4. As you can see, using the clipping mask allows you to still see and edit the colouring of the previous frame, just make sure you click on the right frame and it's corresponding layer when you're doing further editing.
This is where an action is super helpful in cutting down all the repetitive steps and clicks you need to do. So at this point I'd just play the action I created and paint on the layer mask as needed.
Repeat for all your frames and then you're done! After this I convert it back to timeline mode again so that I can add my text and do any other effects such as blending or transitions. Hope this helped!!

You're more amazing than lineart
You're more amazing than tag blocking
#asks#fa added tag blocking yesterday!#but only for the modern theme...#which would be fine if the modern theme didn't have a bunch of little annoyances#navigation bars that follow you when you scroll down are the devil#like fuck off! stop following me! if i want to use you then i'll just scroll up it's not that hard#they're called sticky navbars or fixed navbars#i actually messed around with the html and css and found the part that makes it sticky and turned it off#but making a whole browser extension just to make modern theme slightly less bad isn't worth it#other Various Annoyances: the giant raccoon art at the top of every page that pushes the rest of the page down#the submission titles don't turn blue after you've clicked on them so you can't tell which pics you've already clicked#the minigallery on submission pages is awful because they copied deviantart's layout which was not designed for a minigallery#the minigallery thumbnails are cropped more than they need to be which i think might be just straight-up a mistake#also there's a really easy way they could've partially implemented keyword blocking. REALLY easy#the search feature already has a method to exclude results that contain a certain keyword(s)#so just let users make a list of blocked keywords and then alter all their searches to use that method to exclude the keywords#literally just add â-(@keywords blocked_keyword_example)â for each keyword. just take the search string and append that. easy#it'd only work on searches but it would've been so fucking easy but that's irrelevant now

Sugar Daddy Bang Chan
Bang Chan x f!reader
Synopsis: Chan becomes your sugar daddy, except y'all are in love
Warnings: daddy kink (duh), oral (m & f receiving and giving), unprotected sex (pls don't), breeding kink, face sitting, aftercare (always, no matter what), pregnancy - let me know if I'm missing anything
BestFriend!Chan, who was your friend first. You'd met years prior while he was a trainee, and the friendship had stuck. One day, he learnt that you were struggling with money and offered to help - insisted really, he wasn't taking no for an answer.
"Channie, I can't let you do that."
"Yes you can, I'm offering."
"Channie-"
"Don't argue with me on this, please." He pressed his lips to your forehead and wrapped his arms around your shoulders. "Let me do this for you."
BestFriend!Chan, who isn't surprised when you beg him to let you repay him in some way, he knew it was coming, knew there was no way you'd let him spend money on you and not do something in return.
"What do you suggest?"
"I don't know Chan, but I just can't do nothing!" You're frustrated, hands swinging in the air. "I'll do anything, hell I'll even suck your cock, just let me do something to repay you!"
That gets Chan's attention from where he's sitting at his desk in his studio. He splutters but you barely notice, pacing back and forth as you ramble.
You're quickly cut off when Chan's hands fund your cheeks, eyes broing into yours as he looks for any sign of discomfort.
"Say that again." You try to tilt your head in confusion, but Chan's hands are holding it in place. He sucks in a shakey breath.
"You said you'd suck my cock." Your eyes widen and Chan fears he's made a grave mistake, hands falling from your face, stepping back as he scrambles to think of a way to fix this. His thought process is cut off when you sink to your knees in front of him.
There's a smile on your face when your hands find his thighs, eyes peering up at him.
"You don't-" another shakey inhale. "You don't have to."
"Oh Channie, I've wanted to suck your cock for years." He groans at that, eyes closing and head falling forwards as his hands flex by his sides. "Please, let me suck your cock."
He nods and yanks the chair over from behind him before reaching around you to grab a cushion from the sofa in the corner of the studio.
"Stand, baby, don't want you to hurt your knees." His hands help you stand, the cushion falling to the floor as he holds you to him, close enough that you can feel his hard cock pressing into your stomach.
"Channie-" you trail off and he raises an eyebrow.
"Yes, baby?"
"You don't have to-"
"Don't you dare tell me I don't have to worry about your comfort," Chan's voice is stern. "Your comfort is important, you're important."
Leaning up, you press a kiss to his lips, arms wrapping around his shoulders as he holds you close. Pulling away, you smile, hands moving to push at his chest so he sits in his chair.
"Let me, please."
"Let you what, baby? Use your words."
"Let me suck your cock, daddy," the look that crosses over his face is downright feral. Sinking to your knees on the cushion he's placed, it's easy to pull his cock from his shorts, mouth opening in shock at the weight and size.
"Fuck, baby, 'm guessing you like the look of my cock." Nodding you lean forwards to press a kiss to his tip, relishing in the hiss that leaves his lips.
"Fuck, Channie, you're so big-" Wasting no time, your lips part to take the tip of his cock into your mouth, hands moving to stroke the rest of his length, his hips bucking when he feels your tongue trail over his slit. Shuffling forwards on your knees, his tip slips further into your mouth, making him groan and grip the arms of the chair.
"Fuck, baby-" He's cut off when you hollow your cheeks and sink further down his length, one hand moving to cup his balls, gently rolling them in your hands, making his hips buck. "Baby-"
Pulling off, a trail of spit connects your lips to his tip, and you look up at him through your lashes.
"Fuck my mouth, daddy."
SugarDaddy!Chan who hopes to God that it wasn't a one time thing and isn't disappointed when you suck his cock again the following day.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, takin me so well baby, fuck- Chan's running his mouth as his hands hold your head still, his hips bucking into your face wildly. "My pretty baby likes this, yeah? Likes the way I fuck her face?"
Moaning around his length, you know you must look pathetic, hand down your pants and makeup running as you squirm while he fucks your face.
"Listen to you, my baby's moans are so beautiful. Keep moaning for me, baby. Just like that. Keep moaning while I use you."
SugarDaddy!Chan who can't help but beg to eat you out after he's fucked your face.
"Baby, please, wanna return the favour."
"Channie, me sucking you off was returning your favour."
"Then let me eat you out cause I want to."
SugarDaddy!Chan, who fucks you for the first time after six months of your arrangement.
"Shit, pussy feels so good, fucken made for me sweetheart." He's got your legs over his shoulders as he thrusts his cock into you from above, body moving frantically, hands gripping your hips tightly. "Fuck, cum for me baby, you gotta cum for me, cum all over my cock."
His hand moves to slap your clit harshly, your body shaking as your pussy spasms around his cock, a squeal leaving your lips.
"Fuck fuck daddy fuck I'm cumming, fuck, please don't stop, fuck-" Chan's hips are moving faster, thrusts harsher and sloppier as he hurtles towards his orgasm, grunts forcing their way from his lips.
"Where baby?"
"Inside daddy, fuck, fill me up, please, fuck-" your pleas for his cum are cut off by his lips sealing over yours as his warm cum floods your pussy, ropes painting your walls and seeping out the edges.
SugarDaddy!Chan who holds you close after he's cleaned you up, arms around you, hands stroking your skin. He presses his cheek to the top of your head and relishes in the feel of your skin on his.
SugarDaddy!Chan, who comes running when you call him on a night out with the girls, voice shakey and quiet as you whispered about the guy who's been bothering you all night. He's in his car before you've finished your sentence.
"Baby!" You hear him before you see him, his voice carrying through the door of the women's bathroom.
"Channie!" You're colliding with his chest a few moments later, his hand cradling the back of your head as he holds you close.
"Hi baby," he kisses your cheek. "You ok?"
Nodding, you press further into him, asking him to take you home.
SugarDaddy!Chan, who asks you to move in with him after that night. He claims it's because he wants you safe, but it's really because he wants you close at all times.
SugarDaddy!Chan, who slowly acts more and more boyfriend like, until the lines are too blurred to decipher.
SugarDaddy!Chan, who introduces himself as your boyfriend to everyone you meet, until one night, during post fuck cuddles, you ask him if he would ever date you.
"Would you.. ever date me? Like, for real?" He looks over, alarmed.
"We are dating for real!" His face falls. "Aren't we?"
"I don't know, we never made it official or said anything so I just kinda.. assumed we were- I don't know, fucking."
"We are fucking." His voice is monotone but his face panicked. "But we're also very much in love."
There's silence for a moment.
"Aren't we?" He sounds desperate, broken.
"I am." His body relaxes, arms tightening around you as he rolls to hover over you.
"I love you, baby," he grins and presses a kiss to your lips. "Now, be a good girl and let me show you how much."

â callin' it quits now, baby, I'm a wreck à©â©â§âË
ⶠpairing: miguel o'hara x fem!reader
ⶠsynopsis: the aftermath of the argument with miguel.
ⶠwarnings: angst, hurt with comfort, occ miguel (for one scene only dw), shitty humour, one or two swear words, reader being slightly mean, mentions of death.
ⶠnotes: part two of "you're the sunflower" this part was originally 8k words long and i was like nope, so i had to cut it down, I'm sorry. I really hope this isn't bad âŒïž

At first, you didn't quit the team.Â
After the blow-up with Miguel, you thought about leaving the team for good, but yet you decided to show up, hanging around for a bit before quickly leaving.Â
But slowly you stopped showing up altogether. The looks of pity were too much for you to handle, and frankly, you deserve an apology, you deserved better.
Every day was torture, and seeing Miguel only made it worse. No one thought this whole ordeal would go this far.Â
Everyone noticed the changes, you were more serious, and your usual sunshine self was gone at this point. Everyone noticed the day you stopped coming in.Â
You felt so lonely, sure, you had friends in your universe but yet, nothing felt the same. You sometimes wondered if they missed you or not.Â
It had only been a few weeks and yet it felt like months.Â
A part of you secretly hoped someone from the team would show up at your doorstep pleading for you to come back, but nothing.Â
"You'll get used to it eventually" You'd tell yourself.Â
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââ
It had been two whole months since you left. Nothing felt the same without you.Â
"Does anyone else miss Sunflower?" Gwen said sadly. She missed your hugs, and your little girl talks with her, she missed everything about you. Â
"We all miss her, kid," Peter sighed. Without you, he had no one to talk to about Mayday.Â
"I hope she comes back soon," Miles said.Â
"I think she just wants space right now," Pavitr replied. Â
"This is all Miguel's fault y'know?" Hobie added bitterly, how dare Miguel take his friend away from him.Â
"Someone should talk to him, maybe if he apologizes, she'll come back." Miles was hopeful, he knew you'd come back eventually.Â
"Sure, kid. As if Miguel ever listens."Â
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââ
Miguel on the other hand was depressed.Â
He'd gotten used to your presence and it felt odd without you.
He felt horrible about yelling at you but he was scared. The thought of you dying terrified him, and his way of dealing with that wasn't the best.Â
He thought about apologizing many times, but he didn't know how to. The last thing he wanted was to cause more damage.Â
"You know a simple "sorry" could fix this all right?" Lyla said, breaking him out of his trance.Â
"It's not that easy, Lyla." He sounded so broken to his own ears.Â
"Well, you gotta try, Boss."Â
"Sunflower used to call me that."Â
"You're joking, right? Wow, you really are pathetic." Lyla snorted.Â
"What's that supposed to mean?"Â
"Dude, you're in love with her. You are absolutely smitten."Â
"Lyla, that's enough-"Â
"No, you love her and that's why it's bothering you so much."Â
"I don't-"Â
"Nah, Lyla's right, you do love her." He turned around to see Jess standing in his office.Â
"Jess, not you too, and where did you come from?" Miguel groaned, he did not love you.Â
"The doorâŠ? Anyways, just try to fix things, the first step is you apologizing." Jess stated matter-of-factly.Â
Miguel thought about it for a minute, these last few weeks had been pure torture for him, Jess was right, the first step is apologizing.
"Fine, I'll do it first thing tomorrow, but I don't love her."Â
"Sure, whatever you say, man." Jess snickered.Â
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââ
You got somewhat used to your new life. It was the same old plain routine every day. You tried to throw yourself into other things. Finding new hobbies, jobs, literally anything.Â
But eventually, it all started to feel okay.
Things were finally starting to look good for you.Â
You thought about the spider society way less and finally started living your life to the fullest.Â
You were moving on.Â
Crime fighting was easy today. You got to hang out with your friends and an old lady gave you a cheerio, which is something.Â
You swung around the city for a bit, enjoying the view and temporary peace.Â
Soon it was time for you to head back home. You climbed in through your bedroom window and quickly changed out of your suit, slipping into more comfortable clothing. Â
When you went downstairs to get some food, you weren't expecting to see Miguel O'Hara sitting on your couch.Â
"Holy shit, what are you doing here?" You scared him, because he jumped violently at the sound of your voice.Â
"I was here t-"
"Humiliate me further? Because I thought we were done with that." You felt bad saying that, but he deserved it.Â
"No, I'm here to apologize." He looked down, ashamed.Â
"It's a bit late for that, isn't it?" You chuckled bitterly, walking past him into the kitchen.Â
"Just listen to me for a second."Â
"I thought I was incapable of doing that." You muttered to yourself.Â
He got up and strode towards you, but he received no acknowledgment of his presence.Â
"I'm sorry for yelling at you in front of everyone; it was wrong and I shouldn't have acted so immaturely."Â
"Uh-huh, it's fine. You can leave now, the door's right there." You weren't buying his ridiculous apology. Even a five-year-old could do better.Â
"I understand you're mad, but please give me a chance." That was pretty much the last straw for you.
"I'm mad? You humiliated me in front of everyone! You made me feel like shit, you made me think I don't belong on the team! You're an asshole." You were screaming at him, taking out all the anger and sadness you felt in the past two months.
"I'm sorry." He sounded so small, so vulnerable, and for the second time in his life, he didn't know what to do.Â
"The best you can say is I'm sorry? At least give me a proper explanation." You scoffed, rolling your eyes.Â
"I'm in love with you." What?Â
"Right, if you're here to joke around and mock me just leave okay."Â You open up to him and he mocks you in return. Amazing.
"I'm being serious. I'm not mocking you or joking around, I'm in love with you. You want an explanation, so I'm giving you one." He breathed, looking at you hoping to receive some reaction. All he got was a small head tilt which he took as a sign to continue.Â
"The reason I yelled at you was because I was scared. I thought you were going to die and that terrified me, I've lost everything, and I don't want to lose you too. I didn't know how to handle it, so I lashed out. I truly am sorry, Sunflower." You froze trying to process everything, was he telling the truth?Â
"Lyla and Jess helped me realize my true feelings for you." He whispered.Â
When you said nothing for a few minutes he started to get scared, he was ready to get on his knees and beg for forgiveness if he had to.Â
"Can you⊠say something? Please?"
"I can't forgive you just yet." He would never admit to what happened next but he started sobbing. All this was too much, being vulnerable was an unknown feeling to him.Â
"Woah, wait hey, don't cry. Let me-" Before you could finish your sentence he fell to his knees, arms clutching your waist like a lifeline.Â
You were beyond confused, you thought this whole interaction was some sort of weird dream. Miguel O'Hara down on his knees, for you? Wow, two months ago you would've scoffed and rolled your eyes at that.Â
Nonetheless, you ran your fingers through his hair trying to soothe him.Â
"Miguel, honey, listen to me. Just because I'm not ready to forgive you now, doesn't mean I never will." His face was still squished against your midriff, and his breathing was slowly returning to normal, with a few sniffs here and there.Â
"So, you'll come back?" Seeing him in such a state broke your heart, you were still upset with him but were willing to give him a chance.Â
"Yes, I'll come back tomorrow." At that, he smiled properly for the first time in weeks.Â
He stayed there for a few moments, letting you comb through his hair gently, he would cherish this brief moment forever.Â
"I should get going then. The multiverse needs saving." He said hoarsely, standing up, he was slightly embarrassed by this side of him.Â
"Maybe use the door this time." He lightly chuckled at your statement, the warm feeling took over him once again.
Miguel did not want to leave, he wanted to stay here with you, but he knew that wasn't an option right now.
Before he left he had to get one last thing off his chest.
"Could you, not tel-"Â
"Tell anyone about this? Don't worry, this stays between us only."Â
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââ
Everyone was surprised to see you back the next day.Â
The second you walked in, everyone was all over you, hugging you and filling you in on everything you missed. It felt good to be back.Â
"I'm so happy you're back," Gwen whispered, hugging you tightly.Â
"I'm happy to be back, Gwendy. I missed you guys so much."Â
"Hey quit hogging Sunflower, it's my turn to hug her now." Miles huffed impatiently.Â
"Me next!" Pavitr bounced enthusiastically.Â
"Hey, not cool. I called dibs, man." Hobie groaned.Â
"Hey, Sunflower, I have some new pictures of Mayday to show you." Everyone was so excited to see you again, it was chaotic, but it felt like home. They were your family.Â
Miguel watched the scene from afar with a smile, he was glad everything was okay now.Â
"So you fixed things up with her, huh?" Jess said, popping up behind him, once again taking him by surprise.Â
"ÂĄAy, coño! Jess, stop doing that."Â
"Sorry, not my fault you don't have a spidy sense." Jess hummed. "So, how did you get her to forgive you?"Â
"I have my ways."Â
"You got down on your knees and begged her, didn't you?"
"How did you know?" Miguel whisper-yelled. That was supposed to be a secret.Â
"I have my ways." Jess winked.Â
âââ ââ
ââ
â ââÂ
In a few weeks, everything was back to normal, you were back to your old self again.Â
Except for the fact that you and Miguel were now closer than ever. That was new.Â
You were always by his side, sticking close to him and he felt comfortable around you, always relaxed in your presence.Â
He wasn't sure if you forgave him just yet, but he was willing to wait for as long as you needed.Â
He did small things to show you he cared, sometimes it was bringing you coffee, other times it was giving you your favorite flowers.Â
You knew he was sorry, and in your heart, you forgave him a long time back.Â
So, you finally decided to tell him.Â
You guys were in his office having lunch, he didn't like to eat out in the cafeteria. You both would usually sit in silence enjoying each other's company.Â
"Hey, Miguel."Â
"Hm?"Â
"I forgive you."Â
He raised his eyebrows in confusion taking a moment to realise what you meant. When he finally got it, his eyes widened almost comically.Â
"Oh, you do?" He was trying to hide his smile but failed horribly.Â
"I forgave you a long time back, but I just⊠needed some time." You nodded. Â
"I understand that. Thank you for giving me another chance."Â
"Actually, to forgive you fully, I want one thing from you." You declared, confidently.Â
"I'll do anything, Sunflower." He'd indeed do anything for you.Â
"I want you to go out on a date with me."Â
His brain stopped working. You were asking him out on a date.Â
"Miguel? Is that a yes or no?" You grew nervous at his lack of response. Did you cross boundaries? You thought he liked you.Â
"I would love to." You quickly beamed at his response, after months of waiting it was finally happening.Â
"So, how about tomorrow, at 7?" You giggled.Â
"Sounds perfect." He sighed, softly smiling.Â
He couldn't wait for tomorrow.Â

Could we get the Claymore Queens (and anyone else of your choice) reacting to their SO trying to be tough for their sake, not saying anything, not wincing (or trying not to), not complaining, although they're not in the best condition?
(Genshin Impact) Clorinde, Eula, Dehya, Beidou, Navia, Noelle, Furina and Xinyan's S/O trying to tough out their injuries
"Nah, I'd win." - Me at 1hp to my friends after getting hit by a boss's move dead on.
Clorinde has been in so many duels to the point where she can tell someone is bluffing, simply by their body language alone.
S/O was heavily injured: their legs were slightly trembling, breathing heavy, and weapon shaking.
And she's only glanced at them for a few seconds. They were in no condition to keep going, even if they insisted otherwise.
(Clorinde) "You need to rest, S/O. If we get into another fight, you've already lost."
She rests a firm but affectionate hand onto their shoulders in an attempt to get them to relax.
(Clorinde) "Getting yourself killed will not prove to me that you are strong."
Eula frowns the moment she hears her S/O say they're fine.
She doesn't even need to look at them, Eula immediately turns around and tells them what they need to hear.
(Eula) "You are not fine. Tend to your wounds, I won't be the one dragging your unconscious body back to Mondstadt."
Though her words are harsh, it comes from a place of concern and love.
She'd prefer not to have S/O injured at all and be the one in their shoes instead, but it'd at least make her heart rest easier knowing they were out of harm's way and recovering.
(Eula) "At the very least, just wrap the bandages around yourself."
Dehya scoffs and crosses her arms, shoulders sagging as she raises a single eyebrow.
(Dehya) "Psh, yeah right. I'm sure that blood dripping down your arms means you're completely rarin' to go, right?"
She shakes her head as she forces them to sit down, and with her arm strength and S/O's injuries, it is very easy to do.
(Dehya) "Sit still for a sec, you're not fooling anyone."
Dehya knows they weren't trying to worry her, but if anything this was doing the opposite.
...Then again, she can't exactly blame them. She'd probably do the same right now.
Beidou lightly punches their arm, and when S/O yelps out, that solidifies her decision.
(Beidou) "Thought so. You're sitting this one out for now."
Beidou's top priority is always the safety of her crew, S/O was no exception.
She doesn't take no for an answer easily, and Beidou does not care how much S/O tries to convince her otherwise.
(Beidou) "You'd convince me a lot more if you weren't hissing every single time my hand brushed against you, y'know."
Navia isn't even listening to S/O try to insist that they're fine.
Navia, along with some bodyguards that appeared out of nowhere, are already tending to their injuries.
(Navia) "We'll get you fixed up in no time, you leave everything to me!"
Her heart is pounding when she's looking at their injuries, trying her best to block the unpleasant thoughts out of her head.
What matters the most right now is that S/O not push themselves anymore for her sake.
Navia needed them to be okay.
(Navia) "No more of that talk, S/O! You're resting here and that's final! Gentlemen, S/O does not move an inch from this spot, understood?"
(Bodguards) "Yes. ma'am!"
Noelle pouts when she sees S/O trying to walk beside her.
Absolutely not! They weren't even in the condition to help her clean.
Granted, not a lot of people can clean an entire wagon just by lifting it with one arm, S/O included, but her point still stands.
(Noelle) "I do not think so! S/O, I ask you leave this work to me! You sit here and rest, I'll clean the rest of this mess up!"
Noelle is twice as determined to ensure not a single enemy gets through her. Her goal was to make S/O not worry, not the other way around!
As a dutiful maid should!
Plus, S/O knows if they try to protest, Noelle is using that superhuman strength to make them stay put.
Furina's fists clench when she sees S/O try to smile despite the heavy hits on their body.
...No. Enough was enough.
S/O would not get themselves hurt anymore for someone like her.
(Furina) "Do you take me for a fool, S/O?! I demand that you take a seat this instant!"
Her expression is angry, angrier than S/O had ever seen Furina.
But it quickly simmers down once her voice starts shaking.
(Furina) "I'd never forgive myself if you tried to keep going simply to not make me worry...Just be honest and tell me you have to rest!"
The irony of being honest was not lost on her, but they already knew the truth about her.
It's only fair that they didn't lie about how they were either.
Xinyan walks in front of S/O, hands on her hips.
(Xinyan) "Heck no, ya ain't fine! Ya look like yer about to keel over!"
She rushes to them and ushers for them to sit on the ground, while getting a few bandages out.
(Xinyan) "'Fine' my butt! You're lookin awful! Please just take a rest!"
A sigh of relief leaves her body once S/O complies, allowing her to tend to all their bruises.
It pained her to even see them this injured, but if anything, they won't strain themselves any further for her.

Crowley: MC? MC? I have a new job for youâ
Grim: The hench-human is at the roof, fixing the holes.
Crowley: Oh. Would you tell them to get down so we could talk?
Grim: Nah. It's raining. I don't want to get wet.
Crowley: I'll just wait here then. And ooh~ Looks like they've made some changes already.
Grim: They said it was barely habitable. They got a few things from the storage room to renovate the dorm a little.
Crowley: What a talented individual.
Grim: So, what do you want from my hench-human?
Crowley: You see, I'm thinking of turning you both into students of Night Raven College.
Grim: Mryah! Really?!
Crowley: Yes. I've realized that it would be a waste to just have them work as a janitor.
Grim: Mryahah~! Wait. *frowns at him*
Crowley: Is there something wrong, Grim?
Grim: You want to exploit my hench-human!
Crowley: Whâ Of course not! Where does that come from?!
Grim: They're already cleaning the whole school and that isn't enough for you?!
Crowley: I have provided you food and shelter!
Grim: Hench-human has to work outside the school mryah! Because the food you're giving us ain't enough!
Crowley: They still have time for thatâ *clears throat*â Well, they could've asked for more. That shouldn't be my problem.
MC: *walks in* *dripping wet* Hey, Grim. Can you grab me some towelâ *noticed Crowley*â What do you want?
Grim: *flies to their side* He wants to exploit us!
Crowley: Certainly not! I'm here to offer you to officially become a student of our school. *smiling*
MC: *raised an eyebrow*
MC: Yeah. Grim sure could use that.
Crowley: H-How about you? Are you not interested?
MC: Nah. I'm good. I had vocational courses in my world. No need for me to have a diploma here.
Crowley: Oh. I did hear from Grim you got a job outside the campus.
MC: Yeah. I realized I can't live off solely from your benevolence when I'm feeding a glutton.
Grim: I'm not a glutton!
Crowley: ...
Crowley: I see. But as you've said, Grim could use this opportunity. So would you be taking the job I'm about to offer you?
MC: *smirks* Sure. I can use some extra income.
Crowley: ...
Crowley: I can only offer you a minimum wage.
MC: I'm not picky.
Crowley: Wonderful!
Leona: Huh? Who's that?
Ruggie: Don't you know? They're the janitor.
Leona: What are they doing here in Savanaclaw?
Ruggie: They've come to inspect each dorm in Night Raven College.
Leona: Huh?
MC: Some of the rooms here are full of shit.
Savanaclaw students: Why do you care?
MC: Shitty rooms, shitty people. *yawns* I feel like burning this whole place down.
Savanaclaw students: You can't do that!
MC: I can, pals. If you don't start cleaning right now.
Leona: ...
*In the housewarden meeting*
Leona: Hey, Crowley. What's up with that?
Crowley: *smiling* Is there a problem, Kingscholar?
Leona: Why does that punk get to do a dorm inspection?
Idia: Yeah! They have no respect to anyone's privacy!
Vil and Riddle: ...
Riddle: That isn't true at all.
Vil: Heartslabyul and Pomefiore were commended for their unwavering commitment to cleanliness and orderliness.
Vil: And they had asked for permission beforehand.
Azul: Though if you were to decline, they would persist and resort to using force to gain entry.
Kalim: I got scolded for keeping bugs in the kitchen...
Riddle: What the hellâ
Crowley: MC's job as a dorm inspector only happens every end of the week. So you have nothing to worry about regarding invasion of privacy. *smiles*
Grim: Hench-human... *seems exhausted* *flies to their arms*
MC: You alright, buddy?
Grim: I hate classes... I give up.
MC: *chuckles* Looks like your preschool brain can't handle college classes.
Grim: Mryah! What did you say?!
MC: *pets him* Told ya to learn your ABC's first.
Grim: MRRAAAAHHHH!!!
MC: Easy, bud. Easy. I got you some food.
Grim: Take back what you said!
MC: Nuh-uh. Just prove me wrong.
Grim: I'll prove you wrong! Watch me!

Before She Cheats Part 3
Natasha Romanoff x fem!eader
summary: the aftermath of nat cheating on r. Telling the kids
Angst !!!!!!!
The Loud House Universe
Note: As a child of divorce this was lightwork to write. Sometimes moments like this the words just flow for me. Crazy.
w/c: 3.1k
A legal separation. Itâs what you proposed to her. Youâre standing in your home office, whispering, using hushed voices as you discuss how to move forward. Natashaâs infidelity is what got you here. You knew this wouldn't be easy but you're here now, your resolve breaking, and you don't know what you want. Natasha's affair could have been kept a secret. She could have continued to lie to you. How long would you have been blind to it?
"Is that what you want?" Natasha asks. She looks over the paper. Her eyes scanning everything.
"It's not what I want, Natasha." You reply. "This is what's best for everyone."
"Joint custody?" She reads over.
"Yes," You nod.
"Visitation rights?"
"It's best," You reason again.
"Okay," She relents.
"Is there anything that you want to add?"
"No," Natasha shakes her head. "I don't want to sign this."
"You should read over it again." You insist. "The kids should get the option to choose."
"To choose?" She furrows her eyebrows.
"Who they would rather live with." You offer. "Cara is old enough. Charlie too. Making a decision like this without them is. It's not going to be easy. All of them are too used to bouncing around homes and I don't know." Your eyes water. You swear you wouldn't cry. "I can't do this anymore. I can't keep pretending."
"Y/n," She says softly.
"Don't," You shake your head. "Please just, don't." It's been a week since Natasha told you what was going on. She'd told you what she'd done. For the past week, you've pretending to be okay for the sake of the kids but you can't do this anymore. Your emotions are starting to boil over and you can't keep the tears at bay.
"It's okay," Natasha reassures.
"How can you say that?" You scoff. "This isn't okay."
"I know," Natasha agrees.
"Then what do we do?"
"I'll sign the papers."
"Really?" You wipe away a tear.
"If this is what you want," She tells you.
"Don't do that," You snap.
"Do what?"
"Act like this is something that we both wanted."
"Y/n,"She drops the papers.
"It's not okay," You sniff.
"I never meant to hurt you," She whispers. "I love you."
"You love her too," You point out.
"I don't," She frowns. She sighs before standing up. She runs a hand through her hair. "I just think we are moving too fast with all of this. A seperation isn't what we need."
"Then what do we need?"
"Time."
"No," You shake your head. "It's time."
"It's not."
"Stop trying to convince me otherwise, Natasha," You push. "I think I am doing you a favor by asking for a seperation. "
"Does that mean you think we have a chance?"
"No," You furrow your brows. "You can't fix this."
"We can," She reaches for you.
"I need time," You step away.
"And when you get that time, what will happen?"
"I don't know, Natasha," You sigh. "I don't know because I've never had to deal with this. I don't know how to feel. I don't know how to think. You did this to us. You stepped out of our relationship. You lied to me. I've loved every single part of you since the moment we met. Every single part. I have never looked at you differently even after knowing what you've done for work. I was always able to look past it but I'm not stupid. I'm not this person you can just walk all over."
"I'm not," Natasha protests. "I'm not trying to walk all over you or hurt you."
"Then why do I feel like you are?" You cry. "You lied. I can't forgive that. You cheated. I can't forgive that."
"I'm sorry," She whispers.
"It doesn't matter," You shake your head.
"You have to understand where I was coming from."
"What is that supposed to mean?" You push your chair back from your desk. "Where you were coming from? You keep telling me it wasn't something I did to make you cheat. I know deep down I'm not the person in the wrong here. I've given you everything I have, Natasha. I don't want to keep having this conversation."
"What are you saying?"
"We're done." You say firmly. Before she can speak further there's a knock at the office door. You both had been too engrossed in the conversation to hear the pitter patter of little feet. You scramble to grab the seperation papers and stuff them into your desk. Natasha is opening the door as you quickly wipe the tears from your eyes.
"Hey, Moms, we were thinking that you could take us all to the skating rink today," Cara waltzes in carrying Luke on her hip. James, Paige, and Charlie all come following after her. They all look so normal. So unaffected by what's about to come.
"Sure," You clear your throat. "I can do that." You hold out your arms for James to come and sit in your lap. Paige occupies herself with searching for your Ipad. Charlie sidles up to Natasha to hug her. It's still so normal.
Cara looks between the two of you. She watches the way you hold onto James. The way you won't meet her mother's eyes. Something is going on. Cara knows there's something going on. It's been the same thing for the past week.
"Who died?" She asks.
"No one died," Natasha's quick to answer.
"Are you sure because I'm pretty sure that's a lie," Cara sets her brother down and sits on the edge of the desk. "If you don't want to take us skating that's cool. We could do something else. I mean we are moving to Ohio pretty soon. I figured we could soak up the city."
"That's actually something we have to talk about," You speak up.
"What's there to talk about? It's Ohio." Charlie frowns.
"Well, I know you guys were looking forward to moving there, but your Mama and I decided that it would be best if we don't," You say.
"Why not?" Cara asks.
"Because" You begin. You fumble for an answer.
"I think we need to talk," Natasha says.
Cara looks between the two of you suspiciously.
"Okay," She nods. You stand, helping James over to the small couch you have in the corner. That's where you gather the rest of the kids. You carry Luke in your arms now, bouncing him, hoping to settle yourself.
Natasha takes a seat beside Cara on the floor. Charlie sits down beside her. Paige sits across from you, playing with the strings on her hoodie. James lays his head on your lap.
"There's no easy way to say this." Natasha takes a deep breath. "Mommy and I won't be living together anymore."
"What do you mean?" Cara asks.
"Are you moving to Ohio by yourself? For a business trip or something?" James looks at her quizzically.
"No," Natasha shakes her head. "Your mother and I won't be living together, period."
"Oh, why?" Paige tilts her head.
There's a pause. Usually with gaps in the conversation one of you would fill in for the other. You don't speak this time. She has to be the one to say it.
"Mommy and I are seperating," Natasha bites the bullet.
"Like, divorce?" James clarifies.
"Like divorce," Natasha confirms.
"Wait, like a real divorce?" Charlie asks.
"Yes, sweetheart."
"But you guys are happy," Charlie protests. "You're in love."
"Things happen," Natasha tries.
"Yeah, things happen. Things like people die," James adds.
"Or people get sick," Paige says.
"Yeah," James nods.
"You're not sick right Mommy? You wouldn't leave Mommy when she's sick," James says.
"It's not that simple," Natasha explains.
"What's complicated about it?" Charlie crosses her arms.
"Nothing," Natasha says. "There's nothing complicated about it."
"So, what did you do?" Cara speaks up for the first time in minutes. "Or you? Who did something? Why now?"
"Cara," Natasha begins.
"I don't understand."
"Me either," Paige adds.
"We can still be a family."
"But you're getting divorced," James says.
"Why aren't you talking?" Cara demands. She looks to you.
"I'm not getting a word in," You try to lighten the mood.
"That's bullshit," Cara says.
"Hey," Natasha warns.
"It's bullshit. She's not saying a word." Cara argues. "Did you do something?" She demands.
"Cara, I didn't do anything," You shake your head.
"What happened then, huh? What the fuck could have happened to make the both of you throw away years of marriage."
"Language," Natasha warns.
"Cara," You say at the same time.
"NO," Cara stands. "You can't just drop something like this on us and expect us to sit here and take it. What happened? You can't just tell us you don't love each other anymore. We deserve more than that."
"Cara," Natasha stands.
"Mom, tell me," Cara pushes.
"Cara, enough," Natasha's voice raises.
"Tell me," She pleads. "Tell me what you did? Mom was crying when we came in here. Why was she crying? What did you do?" Her fists ball at her side. From the corner of your eye you can see Charlie begin to breath much harsher.
"Cara," Natasha snaps. "I said enough."
"Fine," She spits. She turns on her heel.
"Cara, please stay here," Natasha requests.
"Why? I'm not a part of this family anymore." Cara spits. "Apparently, neither are you. Did you hit her?"
"What?" Natasha's face contorts into confusion.
"You did, didn't you? Is that why she's crying? You did something," Cara's voice breaks.
"Cara, please, your mother didn't hit me." You offer to her.
"Then what the fuck is going on? You guys are being so cryptic and not telling us the whole truth,"
"Cara, watch your mouth." Natasha chides.
"Or what? Are you gonna hit me too?"
"Cara, don't," You frown.
"I can't do this," Cara cries.
"I cheated," Natasha finally says.
"What?" Cara freezes.
"I cheated," Natasha repeats.
"No, you didn't."
"Cara."
"You wouldn't," She shakes her head. "You wouldn't do that to Mommy. You wouldn't do that to us."
"Cara, honey," You say softly.
"This isn't fair."
"Why is C-Cara so mad?" Charlie gasps. "What does that mean?" You immediately spot what's going on and jump into action. You pass Luke to Natasha before kneeling in front of Charlie. She's not had an anxiety attack in years. Not since she first came home with you and that happened in the form of tantrums. This was different. She's afraid and confused. She'd never seen Cara so angry before.
"Charlie, Charlie," You whisper. "Charlie, breathe for me. In and out."
"She cheated. That means she was with another person. Someone that's not mom," Cara answers for the both of you.
"Is she okay?" Natasha wonders from behind you.
"You don't get to ask that," Cara snaps again.
"Cara, shut up," You turn and snap. You turn back to Charlie. "You're okay. We're okay."
"Breathe," She gasps.
"Just follow my breathing." You offer. You place her hand on your chest so she can feel how you're breathing.
"Mommy, I'm sorry," Charlie whines.
"Don't try and talk just breathe," You ask her to focus on you. You hadn't anticipated this.
From beside you, you can feel Paige gripping onto your shirt. She's afraid too. The tension is high in here.
"Mom, is Charlie gonna be okay?" James asks.
"She will be," You reassure.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
"Charlie,"
"Mommy, I'm sorry." She continues.
"Hey, Boo, you have nothing to be sorry for," You begin. It's then Luke begins to cry the tension in the room unsettling him.
"James, can you please go get a bottle of water for your sister," You ask.
"Is that okay, Mommy?"
"Yes," You nod.
"Come here," You tell him. You pull him closer and let him wrap his arms around your neck. You can't comfort everyone and keep Charlie calm. "I love you so much. I need you to go and get the bottle for your sister and we will explain everything."
"But,"
"Go," You ask of him.
"Mommy, I'm scared," Paige clings tighter to you. You keep your eyes on Charlie. Her face turning slightly paler.
"Natasha, dammit, help me," You practically scream.
"Right," She springs into action.
"Cara, come with me," She stands, pulling her daughter towards the door.
"No, I wanna stay with my sister," She pulls back.
"You have to listen to your mother," You tell her.
"Why, she's not my mom anymore," Cara says.
"Cara," Natasha's grip tightens on her arm.
"Let me go," Cara demands. She sidles over to Charlie's side.
Natasha nods. She expected this. Instead, she gently takes Paige's hands and pulls her aside. Paige instantly cuddles into her. James brings the water bottle back and watches from a few feet away. You crack it open and hold it to Charlie's lips.
"Charlie, Charlie, please take a drink," You beg.
"Mommy," Charlie whines.
"Please, for me," You ask of her. She slowly drinks. The color begins to return to her face. Her breathing begins to calm.
"I'm sorry," Charlie cries.
"Shhh, you don't have to be sorry," You pull her into your arms. You can't imagine the panic she feels. "It's okay, Boo. I'm sorry."
"I want you and Mama to stay together," She croaks. "I want us to be together."
"I know," You whisper. "We'll still be together."
"But,"
"Not in the way you think. I know." You rub her back.
"Why can't you fix it?" She looks over to Natasha. "Why did you do that?"
"I made a mistake," Natasha answers.
"I hate you." Cara interupts.
"I know," Natasha nods.
"Cara," You warn.
"Don't you dare defend her," She snaps. "She cheated on you. She fucked someone else and you're trying to defend her."
"Cara," You shake your head. "It's not that simple."
"You're right," She nods. "It's not because if it was that simple she would've have done it.â
"Cara," Natasha warns.
"It's true. You would've walked away and thought about how it would affect us. You donât care about us"
"That's not true."
"Bullshit." Cara shouts again startling Charlie. You brush a hand over her hair.
"Okay, Cara, stop," You raise your voice. "I know you are upset. You are allowed to be upset. Right now your brothers and sisters don't have the same understanding as you. I need you to take a deep breath. I need all of us to take a moment."
"But,"
"Take a deep breath," You ask again. "Please."
She does. You hold your arm out for Charlie and James. They both climb into your lap. Paige holds onto Natasha but still watches you.
"I know this is hard," You swallow thickly. "I know it is confusing. Mama and I still love each other very much."
"You don't have to lie for her," Cara says quietly this time.
"I'm not. Mama and I still love each other. We do. Sometimes adults make mistakes. Sometimes, sometimes things are too much."
"She doesn't get to cheat and make mistakes."
"Cara,"
"Let her vent." Natasha speaks. "I messed up. I hurt Mommy and I hurt the five of you."
"So, Mommy's not going to be your wife anymore?" James questions. He fiddles with the collar of your shirt. You're a bit overstimulated from all of the touching but you don't push him away.
"No, sweetheart," Natasha answers.
"And you won't live with us anymore."
"I'm going to be getting a place closer to the city," Natasha says.
"Will you see us still?"
"Of course," Natasha responds.
"I don't want to do that," Paige shakes her head. She's only three. Life for her has always been the two of you. She's never known anything outside of this family unit.
"What if I want to see Mommy and not Mama," Charlie crosses her arms.
"You are more than welcome to do that," Natasha says. She can't hide the hurt in her expression.
"But,"
"This doesn't have to be forever." Natasha offers.
"You're going to take her back?" Cara asks. "Separation and not divorce. That means you guys will try to work it out first?"
"That's not exactly what it means," You shake your head. All of your years of experience in law is lost on you. You can't find the words to explain how all of this will work.
"That's not fair,"
"I understand you are mad and upset and probably really confused," Natasha stands and walks closer to you.
"No," Cara holds her hands up.
"I still love your Mommy," Natasha continues and you squeeze your eyes shut.
"You're a fucking idiot." Cara spits. She doesn't mean the words. She's just angry and frustrated.
"Hey," Natasha snaps.
"No, you don't get to say that," Cara stands. "I don't want to talk about this anymore. I don't want to talk to you anymore. I don't want to see you anymore." She stomps out of the room and presumably up to her bedroom where she slams the door.
"Let her be," You warn Natasha. "She's hurt."
"Are we really gonna leave her alone?" Natasha asks.
"For now," You say.
"But,"
"For now." You repeat.
"How are you feeling?" You direct your attention back to Charlie. "How's your breathing?"
"I'm okay," She nods.
"Okay," You rub her back.
"I'm sorry, babies," Natasha attempts.
"You are going to have another wife now?" Charlie asks. "I don't want a stepmommy."
"No, that's not what any of this means." Natasha denies.
"You don't want us anymore?" Charlie questions. "Cory from class says his daddy and Mommy seperated and now his daddy doesn't see him or call him."
"Oh, sweetie, I would never stop talking to you or coming to see you," Natasha steps a little closer. Paige is still clinging to her, although loosely now.
"I want Mama to stay," Paige pleads.
"Hey, I'm not going anywhere. I'm still your mama and you are my baby girl," Natasha says.
"Mama doesn't want to be with us anymore," Paige's bottom lip begins to tremble.
"No, no, no," Natasha coos.
"It's okay," You try and help her. "Sometimes parents need a break."
"Why can't you have a break together," Paige cries.
"I want Mama to stay," James sniffles.
"You can stay here," Charlie offers. âYou can just sleep in the guest room. We can get new blankets. Oneâs that arenât itchy.âÂ
"Charlie, I can't," Natasha's heart breaks.
"Please," Charlie cries.
"Let's just stop this converation right here," You offer. This is too hard for them. You knew it would be. It's not going to happen again. "I'm hungry and I'm sure you are too. We can eat breakfast together. I can make french toast and strawberries."
"I'm not hungry," Charlie protests.
"Is Mama coming to eat too?" Paige questions.
"Yes, she can come," You relent. Only because you know a fresh bout of tears will happen if you say no. You stand, walking with two of the children as Natasha follows you into the kitchen with Luke and Charlie. You don't want to tell them after this morning she would be leaving. She would be singing the papers and their sense of normalcy would be gone forever.Â

The moment Sejanus shared Billy Taup's escape plan with you, there wasn't much hesitation on your part. It's not that you acted without thinking; it's just that you didn't need much time to decide.
The summer was scorching, feeling like an unending oven. The sun never let up, and even when you hoped for cooler nights, the heat lingered. You've gotten used to the coal dust that's practically become your second skin in District 12, but what truly got to you wasn't the clinging dirt. It was the musty scent of men's sweat, a scent that clung to the air, heavy with the hard work that defined your daily life.
Being one of the few female Peacekeepers among a crowd of men wasn't your ideal situation. Many other girls had come and gone, unable to stand the sacrifices the job demanded, but you stood your ground, determined to prove yourself in this role, even if serving in this particular district wasn't your dream come true.
At least until a certain point.
When you first arrived in District 12, your main goal was to pass your officer's exam as quickly as possible and secure a transfer elsewhere. But when young Plinth kindled the idea of a life beyond authority and rules, the seed of belief in freedom took root within you. The very thought of it resonated in your mind, sounding truly incredible, and you couldn't wait to leave the filthy district behind, escaping through a gap in the wire mesh fence.
But, of course, life wouldn't be too easy if everything just went as planned, right?
One moment, you were getting ready with Sejanus and the other rebels, gathering the basics for your escape north to the supposedly destroyed District 13. The next, you found yourself standing behind one of the empty houses on the Seam with Coriolanus. He held onto your shoulders, telling you urgently that you had to leave the District as soon as possible.
âWhat?â was the first word that slipped from your lips, your brows furrowed in confusion as you looked at your friend. âIsn't that exactly what we're working on?â you added, slightly amused, pushing Coriolanus' hands off your shoulders.
Shaking your head, you were about to update him on your progress when he caught your forearm again. âI think you misunderstood me, Y/N,â he said, his face dead serious. âYou need to get out of here now,â he continued, and seeing your raised eyebrow, he almost gritted the last word through his teeth.
âWhat do you mean, Coryo?â you asked, breaking the silence after staring at him for a while, tired of him speaking in riddles.
Now Coriolanus was the one staying silent, his cool eyes fixed on you. You couldn't decipher his expressions; it felt like he was betraying a hundred feelings at once and, at the same time, nothing at all.
âI⊠um, there'sâŠâ the blond man started, stumbling over his words, unsure how to share the information he needed to tell you. âThere's a chance that the talk Sejanus and I had, which you joined not long ago, about your escape plan, might have been fully recorded by one of the jabberjays.â
You seemed not to grasp the gravity of Coriolanus' words, so you stared at him, searching for any hint in his eyes that he might be joking.
âOkay, so what?â you eventually asked, once again furrowing your brows, this time with a bit less intensity. When a twig snapped around the building's corner, you quickly turned, thinking it might be someone eavesdropping, but finding only a small hedgehog, you shifted your attention back to the boy in the bluish uniform.
âSo what?â Coriolanus repeated your question, unable to believe your difficulty in connecting the dots. âY/N, these birds are headed to the Capitol. To the lab of the woman whoâs the Head Gamemaker of the Hunger Games. And do you know what the Capitol authorities do to rebels?â he asked the question, not waiting for your response. âThey hang them on the hanging tree, Y/N.â
You stared at Coriolanus, steadying yourself with a hand against the wooden building. With every word he spoke, you felt the color drain from your face.
âHow⊠How did this happen?â you asked, trying to keep your emotions in check.
Coriolanus happily took care of the mockingjays, moving their cages, tagging them, and passing them along. As Bug left with the fiftieth cage, Sejanus burst into the room, full of excitement. He shared the good news about the upcoming package from his mother with his friends, watching Bug leave with a smile before turning to Coriolanus, who had just finished dealing with the bird marked as number 1.
The bird chirped in its cage, mimicking the last mockingbird, but once Bug was gone, Sejanus' cheerful expression faded, replaced by a troubled look. He glanced around the hangar to ensure they were alone before speaking in a quiet voice.
âListen, we've only got a few minutes. I know you might not like what I'm about to do, but I need you to at least understand it. After what you said the other day, about us being like brothers, well, I feel I owe you an explanation. Please, just hear me out.â
This was the moment, the confession.
Now was the time for the pieces to be explained, especially about the alliance with rebels and money that he found in Sejanus' belongings. Once Coriolanus heard it, he'd be as good as one of them, a traitor to the Capitol.
Panic, running, or trying to silence Sejanus could be expected, but Coriolanus did none of these things. Instead, his hands moved instinctively. His left hand adjusted the cover of the jabberjay cage, while his right, hidden from Sejanus's view by his body, reached for a remote on the counter. Coriolanus pressed RECORD, and the jabberjay fell silent.
Turning his back to the cage, Coriolanus leaned on the table with his hands, waiting.
In the middle of Sejanus' explanation, you dashed into the hangar like a hurricane itself.
âThere you are!â you exclaimed, both happy and a bit annoyed to find young Plinth. âWhy didn't you wait for me? I said I wanted to go to Coryo with you,â you added, crossing your arms on your chest as you closed the gap between the boys and yourself.
It seemed that Coriolanus, noticing you in the hangar, tensed up a bit. He glanced briefly at the cage with the bird recording the conversation on the table, but neither of you or Sejanus noticed, and together, you continued explaining your plan to him.
During your report, where you and Sejanus competed over who could give Coriolanus more details, he lowered his head and rubbed his brow with his fingertips. It looked like he was trying to gather his thoughts, unsure how long he could stay silent without seeming suspicious.
But Sejanus rushed on, âI couldn't leave without telling you. You've been like a brother to me. I'll never forget what you did for me in the arena. I'll find a way to let Ma know what happened to me. And my father, too. I'll let him know the Plinth name lives on, even if it's in obscurity.â
The mention of the Plinth name was enough.
Coriolanus's left hand found the remote, and he pressed the NEUTRAL button with his thumb. The jabberjay resumed its earlier song.
Something caught Coriolanus's attention. âHere comes Bug.â
âHere comes Bug,â the bird echoed in his voice.
âHush, you silly thing,â he scolded the bird, secretly pleased it had returned to its normal pattern. Nothing to alert both of you. He quickly covered the cage with a cloth and marked it with J1.
âI swear, I have no idea,â Coriolanus lied, wearing a worried expression. âWhile rearranging the cages, one of them must have snagged the remote control.â
You lightly bit your lower lip, eyeing your friend. Without any reason to doubt him, you finally let out a shaky breath.
Gazing up at the sky, you counted to three in your mind to steady your nerves. Then, you looked back at Coriolanus.
âDoes Sejanus know?â
âOf course, I told him first,â he lied again, his gaze fixed beyond your shoulders without losing the concerned look on his face.
âGod, what are we going to do now?â nerves took over every cell in your body as you asked another question. You leaned against the wooden building, slowly lowering yourself until you were sitting on the ground.
You lifted your head to meet Coriolanus's eyes, and he crouched in front of you, placing his hand on one of your knees.
âHey, don't stress. You're heading back to the base now. Pack what you need, and tonight, you'll slip out of the district just like you planned with the rebels. You'll meet Sejanus at the lake, alright?â he spoke with a calmness, almost like talking to a kid, trying to reassure you.
Even though Coriolanus despised rebels â those who went against the Capitol's rules â he didn't want you to suffer the consequences that would surely befall Sejanus. He had nothing against you; in fact, he genuinely liked you. Your innocence about a better life beyond the Capitol's control wasn't his concern because you hadn't caused him any trouble, unlike young Plinth who had stirred up problems more than once.
âBut won't it be suspicious if I suddenly vanish? They'll be searching for me, Coryo. They'll find me and punish me,â you said, placing your hand on his.
âI told you not to worry, remember?â Coriolanus replied, a bit sharper but still maintaining his reassuring tone. âI'll figure something out. No one's going to harm you.â
âBut Coryo, you-â you began, but he quickly cut you off.
âEnough, Y/N,â Coriolanus said firmly, standing up from his crouch. âGet up. We're heading back to base,â he reached out a hand to you, which you took after a moment's hesitation. He helped you stand, silently conveying to act naturally before stepping out from behind the building.
You had no choice but to go along with Coriolanus' questionable plan, clinging to the hope that he knew what he was doing.
Little did you grasp the realityâthat he was the cunning architect behind the recorded conversation. Sejanus wouldn't show up at the lake beyond District 12's boundaries. Instead, his fate would take a dark turn as he dangled lifeless from a tree in a matter of days.

hiii! i came across your blog yesterday, and i love your advice. that's why i feel like you would be the best person to ask these questions that I've been having for the longest time (sorry, long read ahead).
I've studied LOA for the past 2 years or so, and even though i have a good understanding of it, there are some things that always trip me up when it comes to shifting.
how do i deal with waking up to the 3d? yes, by assuming that you are in your dr and that you shifted last night. that's the most logical answer. but even though i know that, sometimes it is a lot easier said than done. for example, a few days ago i wanted to manifest shifting by simply deciding i could shift on command and that i am there. i could be 100% sure the day before that it would happen. the whole day, and even a few days after that I'd stay in that state of being a master shifter, and i would feel amazing because of it. but it's like there always comes a point where i wake up to the 3d and i get discouraged (yes, i acknowledge that i am manifesting that reality by saying this, but i finally have to get this off my chest). my thoughts get all messed up and i start spiraling, returning to my previous state. i start questioning myself a bit and feel down. the main reason for that being time.
it took me so so long to figure out this issue about myself. I'd be like: how long is it gonna take? when will it happen? i know i have it in the 4d but when will it appear in the 3d? having it in the 4d isn't enough, i need to have it in the 3d right now. stuff like that. i find it very difficult to formulate my thoughts, but basically I'm in a spiral of:
watching a video/reading a post about LOA/shifting that reminds me of how easy it is -> applying LOA to shifting/any desire in a way that feels good for a few days at most -> starting to question myself after a few days because it hasn't shown up yet in the 3d (which is caused by me forgetting the role the 3d plays and how LOA works) even though i did everything "right" (e.g. letting go of control or the outcome, deciding, not wavering, etc.) -> falling back into a state where i question how i can shift, what i am doing wrong, etc. -> repeat
how can i break out of this cycle?
i think the main problem here is time and in general the 3d.
i know that the 3d is not a measure of my success, only made up of my current assumptions etc. i know that. but it's like i forget it once i step into the state i wanna be in and stay there for an extended period of time.
i always hear people say that "time isn't real" but i still don't really know what that means, how to apply it or how to internalize it. i really need that mental "click" to finally understand it and use that concept in my favor. because my problem is that with manifesting/shifting, after a while i start asking questions about why it's taking so long the 3d. for example, most nights i fall asleep with the assumption that I'll wake up in my dr (while letting go of control and not wavering) the next morning. but when it doesn't happen eventually, i start to question why, because since time comes from consciousness aka me, it should work in my favor.
I'm honestly so lost right now and i would really appreciate some help because I'm spiraling again. I've known about shifting since 2020 but only realized how ridiculously easy it is after joining tumblr this year and yup, i acknowledge that i am desperate to shift, preferably right now. it's not something i admit to anyone or myself because that's basically continuing to tell a story i don't want to experience (a surefire way to fail), but it is unfortunately the truth as of right now.
thank you for reading, i know this was a lot to get through!! (*^^*)
So pause for a second, because Iâm going to tell you something I hope to ingrain in the mind of everyone who sends me an askâand that you need to remember before reading everything Iâm about to say:
YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SHIFT. The ability is inside you right now. The moment you read this, your mind already knows how to shift. Everyone does.
The moment you accept this, you solve half of your problems.
And then you tell me, "But if I know how to shift, why isnât the 3D reflecting that?"
Well, yeah. You painted the house, and now youâre sitting there watching the paint dry.
Look, watching the 3D closely and looking for results isnât a problem for some people. Some can assume, âIâm already in my DR,â open their eyes, and BAMâtheyâre in their DR.
Some people assume, âI will shift tonight,â and just like that, they shift that night.
Some people let go of their DRs, stop putting them on a pedestal, and they shift.
Some people clutch their DRs close to their heart until their knuckles turn whiteâand they shift.
It sounds a lot like youâre forcing yourself into a method of applying the Law of Assumption that doesnât serve you. Why?? If you recognize that your issue is focusing on time and constantly checking the 3D, work around it. Remove time from your shifting journey.
I donât like assuming I already have something, then checking the 3D and not seeing it there. Hell, I can shift on command, and yet, if I were to lay in bed right now and tell myself, âIâm in my DR,â I guarantee you I wouldnât shift. Why? Because that doesnât work for me.
My dude, change the way you affirm. If affirming in the present (âI already shiftedâ) doesnât work for you, change it! Say, âIâm going to shift.â If even that hasnât been working, let go of implementing time into your affirmations.
Change âIâm going to wake up in my DR in the morningâ to âIâm going to wake up in my DR at some point because I KNOW I can shift.â
Change âIâm in my DR right nowâ to âI canât wait to be in my DR.â
Remove time from your affirmations and assumptions, because thatâs clearly the problem here. Instead of trusting that youâll shift tonight, trust yourself because you already know how to shift. Or trust your mind because it knows how to shift. Trust your awareness because it knows how to shift.
âI fall asleep with the assumption that I'll wake up in my DR (while letting go of control and not wavering) the next morning.â
If this were completely true, you wouldnât be sending me this ask. You wouldnât be doubting yourself as much as you just did in everything you typed. Truly letting go means releasing the need to see results in the 3D.
So, take time out of your assumptions. From now on, say âI will shift.â Or say, âI already know how to shift.â
Your brain then goes: ââŠâŠ???âŠ.uhâŠ.â looking at the 3D all confused âWhen? We haven't shifted!â
And you tell it, âIt doesnât fucking matter because Iâm going to shift eventually.â
Now, letâs say hypothetically, one week passes and you havenât shifted. One month passes, and you havenât shifted. Two months pass, and you havenât shifted.
And then you come back and say, âClover, why the heck havenât I shifted yet? Itâs been (insert amount of time). You told me to remove time as an expectation, so why havenât I shifted yet??â
And Iâll smile at you and ask, âSo youâve been counting the days?â
Let me tell you something about letting goâand hypothetically, ignoring the 3D.
Treat your ability to shift like your fortune. You have a fortune sitting in your bank account right now, and youâre rich. Do you think a rich person checks their bank account every hour to confirm theyâre still rich?
"Well yeah, Clover, because a rich personâs reality already reflects that, theyâre sitting in a mansion with all their riches."
Your fortune, what makes you rich, is your ability to shift. You already know how to shift. Shifting isnât something you learn how to do, just like breathing isnât something you learn how to do. Just like chewing isnât something you learn how to do. It is an integral part of every human being. If you have awareness, then the ability to shift exists within you.
You donât learn shiftingâyou learn yourself.
You learn what makes you shift. What makes you manifest easily. What makes you assume easily. What kind of affirmations your subconscious doesnât argue against. What makes your self-concept skyrocket.
Because everyone is different, everyone shifts differently. What works for Person A might not work for Person B. What works for Person B might not work for Person C, and so on.
Even my reply to you, it might not resonate with you. But thatâs not my fault, and itâs not yours. If that's the case, your job is to look elsewhereâand, in the best-case scenario, look internally because thatâs where the answers always are.
Letâs go over your fix options because I just yapped a lot:
YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SHIFT.
Remove time from your affirmations and assumptions. Removing time from your shifting process makes it so you have nowhere in the 3D to look.
Stop paying attention to the 3D and pay attention to yourself because whatâs going to shift is your awareness, not the damn 3D. Every time you catch yourself thinking, âOh, but itâs not showing up in the 3D,â remind yourself:
A) You already know how to shift.
B) Shifting is something you can do.
C) It could happen at any moment, so why should anything else matter?
If you were promised a million bucks from a 100% trustworthy source, would you spiral?
One more thing before I wrap this up:
It could be that actively using the Law of Assumption isnât what works best for you. Maybe you work better with visualizing. Maybe you induce the feeling of being in your DR or being a "master shifter." Maybe subliminals work better for you. There is a world of options out there, and it is completely useless to force yourself to do something that's only bringing frustration in the end. Because there is no singular way to shift. There is no singular way to manifest. And sometimesâfor some peopleâwhile the Law of Assumption is always true, focusing on it directly isnât what serves you.

In your head | Leah Williamson

Leah Williamson x reader It's England's match against the Netherlands, and your girlfriend is willing to do anything to win. Warnings: I think you may find some of the comments a little suggestive. note: set in England's last game, but I changed a few things here and there
You hadn't seen Leah for days, each of you in a different country preparing for a big game as it was every time England played the Netherlands. Your team a little more comfortable than Leah's in terms of qualification, but you would be playing at Wembley in front of an abysmal crowd and as Leah used to say, "The English are never done", so at the end of the day it was a tough game.
At your feet was the chance for your girlfriend to qualify for the Olympics next year, but there was also the chance to take your team to the Olympics.
"Good morning, Miss England" Jill sat down next to you for breakfast, ruffling your hair as she passed behind you.
"Shut up" you said arranging your hair back to how it was before "Why are you only picking on me, Viv is sitting right in front of me and no one says anything to her."
Viv raised her head and smiled mischievously. "Don't drag me into your fights, kiddo."
"Well Viv's face doesn't change every time she has to play against her girlfriend" Jill said as if it was nothing "But you instead haven't smiled for days because you keep thinking about how you don't want to kick your girlfriend's ass."
"These are tough days" you muttered lowering your head "This week it's this game, but then when I go back to England it's Arsenal against Chelsea".
That was another factor, you were playing for Chelsea, having only just won a starting place this season, and winning that game would mean securing the top spot in the table, but Arsenal was desperate for those 3 points and of course Leah was too.
"You're messing with your own head," Viv commented, folding her arms on the table, "Leah knows how to separate things and you should do the same."
"Just worry about giving 100% of yourself" said Jill patting you on the back "Because I assure you Leah will."
"How was the flight?" Leah looked radiant through the screen, smiling practically from ear to ear "You look tired".
"Uh... yeah, I didn't get much sleep during the flight" you mentioned settling better in your bed "How have you been feeling these days? No complications during training?"
Leah narrowed her eyes "Are you trying to get information out of me?"
"What?! Of course not!" you quickly defended yourself "I'm concerned about the physical health of my girlfriend who is apparently going to have her first game as a starter since her injury"
"I'll pretend I believe you" Leah replied laughing "But everything's fine, according to Sarina I'm fit enough to start."
"Good news then"
"Huh, tell your face that" muttered Leah frowning "You know you don't have to go easy on me during the game, right?"
"Yeah" A lie.
"Babe, we're professionals, it's our job to do this. A lot can happen in a match, whoever wins this isn't better than the other, okay? Everything will still be fine."
"I know... it just feels weird."
Leah disappeared for a few seconds from your screen.
"Uh, the girls are calling me. I should go, but please stop thinking about us like that, okay? Go to sleep, I love you."
"Hm, I love you more. Bye."
The atmosphere in the stadium was overwhelming, the energy of the crowd could be felt from the tunnel.
"Looking good, number 25" Leah's voice sounded behind you.
"Uh, you too" you muttered without even turning to look at her, your eyes fixed on Jill's back, who was watching the situation out of the corner of her eye.
"Oh⊠but love, you haven't even looked at me" her tone was full of teasing. That plus the mixture of her perfume in the air was starting to get to you, "Babe?" your girlfriend's fingers took your chin and made you turn to look at her. "Hi" her smile was dazzling, she knew she was getting what she wanted "How do I look?" she asked raising her eyebrow.
You looked her up and down instinctively, did she look better than usual today? Probably. She always looked good when she wore her England kit, but today she looked amazing.
"You look... amazing" you replied almost as if Leah's gaze had you under a spell.
"What the fuck" Jill turned away, fed up with the situation, slapping Leah's arm to get her to let you go "Get out of here, Williamson."
Leah immediately raised her hands, pretending to be innocent, when she saw Daan also approaching to see what was going on.
"Good luck" she said looking at them and walked off to the start of the tunnel but not before winking at you.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" said Jill giving you a little shake.
"What?"
"Your girlfriend is getting in your head" Daan said looking sideways at Leah who was still smiling "Please YN, we all here know Leah, we knew it was going to be like this because she needs to win this game"
"I told you Leah would give her 100%, and if she's resorting to these stunts it's because she doesn't care if she has to beat you, she'll get it one way or another." said Jill "Listen to me, you will go out there, do your job, you will destroy Earps goal and only after that you will remember again that your girlfriend is the England captain, do you hear me?" this time Jill whispered in your ear as all the other girls from the England team had arrived in the tunnel.
"Okay, enough you two" you said getting a little annoyed "I'm a professional woman, I won't let my relationship affect my work and you should trust me as my teammates and friends.â
"We just want to make sure that-"
"No, I'm not a child who should be told what to do, now shut up you two" was the last thing you said to focus your eyes straight ahead, totally concentrated.
You were so focused on the game that you didn't even notice Daan and Jill high fiving behind you.
The first goal for your team came after the first 10 minutes, thanks to you and your ability to leave Lucy Bronze behind you. You also had another advantage, it wasn't the first time you had faced Earps so you knew where to shoot at the right time, so it was no surprise that your shot ended up in the back of the net.
Jill was the first to jump on you as you ran to a corner of the stadium where you could see some fans wearing the Netherlands shirt.
"That's what I was talking about!" Jill shouted in your ear as she kept hugging you.
Leah was watching out of the corner of her eye, chatting with Lucy, her jaw clenched thinking about how hard it would be to stop you.
Lucy was the one in charge of marking you, but now on every corner kick the person behind you was your girlfriend.
"Nice goal" she murmured close to your ear.
It was the first corner kick in favour of the Netherlands, so you were scared when you heard her voice, thinking that another girl would mark you.
You didn't say anything back, just pressed your elbow against her abdomen when you felt her too close.
"Too bad it was the last one." She muttered again, this time placing a hand on your waist and squeezing.
"Get the fuck off" you mumbled, starting to move from side to side to get her off.
"That's cute" was the last thing she said before the ball was kicked into the box, specifically looking for your head, but finding Leah's head first, who had no trouble clearing it out of the box.
"Shit" you muttered, glancing at Leah who was ignoring you again to focus on her team's counterattack.
"Focus on the game, YN" Vic said walking past you, giving you an encouraging pat on your back.
The first half ended with the Netherlands holding a one-goal lead. You had had a couple of chances at goal, but now in addition to having Lucy behind you, Leah was making a double effort to mark you in the same way, managing three times to get the ball away from you as cleanly as possible, as she always did.
During the half time talk no one mentioned the issue of Leah getting into your head, because from the look on your face everyone could tell that you were 100% focused on the game.
There were only 45 more minutes to go.
But to increase the lead you only needed 20.
"Hey, gorgeous" Leah's voice was in your ear again at another corner kick.
"God, shut the fuck up" you said pulling your body back, pushing her away. Leah, taking advantage of your action, raised her arms when she saw the referee signalling for you to stop the contact.
"You know what you do to me when you talk like that?" she whispered pressing her body against you once her teammates blocked the referee's view "It makes me want to make you- Hey!"
Before Leah could finish her words, your elbow had hit her abdomen hard.
"You two!" the referee came running up to where you were, giving words of warning to you and Leah.
"Come on love, let's be professional" Leah said once the referee left, her face was serious, but you knew her tone of voice showed how much she was enjoying the whole situation.
"Yeah, professionals" you muttered before you heard the referee's whistle.
The ball this time didn't go to your head, but to Daan's head instead, who's attempt unfortunately hit the crossbar, making the ball bounce back to your feet, Leah away from you because she had gone to clear Daan's first attempt.
It wasn't the best position to shoot, you didn't use your good foot either, but still the ball hit the net with the little push you gave it.
Now the Netherlands was 2 goals up on the scoreboard.
The whole team went up to you, celebrating between the rest of the English players who looked at each other blankly, including Leah, who was shaking her head with her hands resting on her waist.
It was all up to you to score a third goal, there were still 15 minutes left, not counting extra time. In a counterattack you were left with only Earps in front of you, but Lucy didn't hesitate to put her foot between your legs making you fall.
The foul had been called and Lucy had got a yellow card, because although she had made you fall it was not a red card action. But after a minute you were still on the ground.
You had fallen badly, with your wrist taking all your weight, plus apparently you had hit your head, or so said Vic who was the first to get to your side to keep you on the ground.
"The stretcher is coming" she said brushing some of the dirt and grass off your face.
"Babe? What hurts?" for the first time in the whole match you heard the tone of voice that Leah was used to using with you, a tone full of softness. One of her hands was placed on your abdomen, and she used her other hand to help Vic wipe your face.
"It's my hand," was all you said, opening your eyes to see that she was kneeling next to you. You weren't sure, but it felt like Leah let out a sigh when she heard that the problem was your hand and not your leg.
"You'll go to the bench." Leah murmured, watching one of your teammates take off her jacket to enter the field.
"Oh, you'll be happy now, Leah?" Vic teased her with a smirk.
"Shut up, Pelova" she said denying, but smiled anyway "Good, here comes the medical staff. I hope it's nothing serious" she said giving you a squeeze on the shoulder before getting up and returning to her position.
When you sat on the bench you were not unhappy with your performance, you had scored the two goals that led your team to a momentary win, but within minutes of you being substituted Leah's iconic phrase was ringing in your ears.
"The English are never done."
It only took your girlfriend and her team the remaining fifteen minutes and 3 minutes of extra time to turn the game around and take the 3 points.
"I can't believe it" was what you muttered as the final whistle blew, covering your face with your jacket, tears on the verge of flowing.
One of your teammates placed her hand on your thigh to reassure you, you didn't know who it was because you didn't remove your jacket from your face until several minutes later.
"Come on, YN" Viv grabbed your arm, forcing you to stand up.
You walked hugging her all the way to the centre of the pitch, where Beth and the other Arsenal girls were.
"Damn YN, I didn't know you had those goals in you" was the first thing Beth said, giving you a hug "You did well, don't worry" she murmured in your ear, knowing -thanks to Viv- how much you were worried about this match.
"You were a real nightmare," said Alessia, who then gestured to you to exchange shirts. "I hope I never see you doing what you did today again" she said with a laugh, referring to the next league match.
"I can't promise anything" you said shyly, still a little upset about losing. You were about to add something else, but in the distance you heard Leah's voice approaching. "Uh, I'll go inside, I think my arm still hurts, so I'll see if they can give me something for the pain."
Viv noticed the lie, but didn't say anything, just gave your healthy arm a squeeze. As soon as you started walking away from the group Leah did too, but Viv was quicker and managed to grab her arm to integrate her into the conversation and stop her from going after you.
"Great game today," Viv said, forcing her to focus on the conversation.
"Yeah, but you guys did well too. I think it was just a bit of luck that goal in extra time."
"That was a masterpiece!" Alessia defended herself, as she had been the one to convert that goal. "But of course, no goal will be that great for you unless it's from YN" she teased Leah, waggling her eyebrows suggestively.
"It's the truth, what YN touches turns into a masterpiece" Leah said, puffing out her chest proudly "I love watching her play, but I'd rather do it from the stands and not a few feet behind her."
"Look at you, flattering your rival, never seen that before from you" this time it was Beth who teased her.
"Since she's been with YN she has become a softie" said Viv, pinching Leah's cheek "Oh, why that grumpy face Williamson?"
"You're all idiots" she said smacking Viv's hand "So what if I've become a softie because of YN? I don't care if you laugh at me."
"We know why you have that grumpy face, Williamson" Jill said appearing behind her, jumping almost on Leah's shoulders "It's because your plan to get into YN's head didn't work out!"
"What do you say?"
"I think you achieved quite the opposite with YN, your words instead of distracting her made her try twice as hard, so thank you for that. Shame we didn't manage to keep the lead but that's the way it goes sometimes."
"Damn" Leah folded her arms "You're saying if I hadn't picked on YN she wouldn't have scored those goals?"
"I mean, she would have anyway, but I think you gave her a little push, so thanks."
At the end of the conversation all the girls laughed at Leah, who had planned all morning to get into your head, but in the end her plan didn't work out.
No one mentioned anything else about the game, let alone Leah. And the truth is, you didn't think about her either, well, that was until after you showered at the hotel, you found a bouquet of flowers on your bed and Jill and Leah chatting on the side.
"No funny business, you hear me?" Jill said to Leah before walking out of the room and leaving you two alone.
The atmosphere was awkward, but Leah didn't care.
"Uh, I brought you flowers" she hurriedly said and took the bouquet, walking over to you and handing it to you, smiling as she saw you accept them "You were amazing today... you were a real nightmare for Lucy and me."
"Don't exaggerate, it wasn't that big of a deal" you said smiling as you saw the card with a dedication in the middle of the flowers "I was the player of the match you think?"
"Yes, I can't deny it" Leah took the flowers from your hands to put it back on the bed "I did what I did because I knew it would be physically impossible to hold you back" she said taking your face, caressing your cheek. "It was a lot easier when you were subbed off, but Lucy got a couple of words from me afterwards."
"You're an idiot for that stupidity to be whispering in my ear the whole game, how old are you? 10?" you said resting your head on her chest.
"What did you expect? You scored a brace, I had to stop you somehow." Leah defended herself.
"Whatever you say... So, we're good then?"
"Yeah, I told you. It's just a game and things happen. I thought you wouldn't want to see me for how much I pissed you off today" she said laughing taking the opportunity to caress your back. "How's your hand?"
"Fine, nothing serious but I need to rest it for a couple of days."
"Good" she said and then started walking to your bed without letting you go, sitting down and making you sit on her lap. "Now... about what I said during that corner kick before your goal..." she said putting her hands on your thighs.
"Hmm..." you settled on top of her, not taking your eyes off her lips "I think that's the first time it's ever bothered me to feel you against my back if I'm being honest."
Leah couldn't hold back her laughter, taking the moment to slip her hands under your shirt "I wanted to do this every time I was behind you" she said before she started kissing you.
You guys stayed like that for a couple of minutes, with Leah murmuring how much she loved you every time she stopped kissing you to catch her breath.
"I've been worried about this match all week" you confessed as you stopped the kissing knowing you couldn't do much more than that.
"Yeah, I know. I think I got text messages every day from your team cursing me out. But I didn't want it to be like that, I like you to give your all always, even if it means being against me."
"It was just a difficult situation, your first game as a starter, qualification, Wembley...."
"I didn't want you to worry about me" she said tucking a few strands of hair behind your ear. "But I want you to know that despite the defeat, I'm proud of what you did today, and I feel like the luckiest person knowing who my girlfriend is and what she's capable of."
"You're such a sweet talker" you laughed but kissed her anyway.
"I know"
Leah patted your thigh to get you off her lap, standing up immediately after that.
"Well I gotta go, see you in a couple of days love."
"Good luck in your next match." You said giving her a last kiss on her lips.
"May the best team qualify, babe."
"Right. Go before you start your little mind games with me" you said pushing her out of the room.
"I love you!"

Made in Cybertron

Synopsis : Orion Pax met a bot within the new cave section, the mysterious bot suffers amnesia and Orion wants to help them recover their memories and uncover secrets within Cybertron.
Prologue II >>
---------------
Prologue I
------------
"Hey! Get back here at once!"
Two guards are chasing after a blue and red bot, who is laughing to himself as he takes sharp turns in order to escape the guards. He runs through the crowd causing the guards to lose sight of the cogless miner.
Orion Pax quickly gets onto the train that would lead him back to the mines, he grins to himself and pops a few energon cubes into his mouth.
"Easy peasy~" he grins as he leans on the wall.
What a day, he couldn't wait to tell D-16 about his research at the Archives. There's a lot of things he wants to talk about and there's might be a chance for them to find the Matrix of Leadership.
As soon the train reaches the mines, he steps out and goes straight to find his friend, D-16.
His optics spots D-16 pushing a cart full of energon, he grins and starts calling out to the bot. "Hey, D!" he calls out as the grey mech turns his helm and glares at the red blue bot "Orion, where were you?!" he hiss. "You've been missing for hours!".
"It's only like one hour! I was quick, don't worry" assure Orion.
"Quick?! You've missed half the day's shift! If anything happens, I ain't helping you with your workload!" D-16 says in exasperation, unloading the energon into the crate. He clearly dislikes his friend breaking the protocols. Always get himself in trouble and he won't be there to save him if gets himself caught by those guards.
"Ohâ" Orion's optic widens in realization, he didn't know he was gone for THAT long. "Well, uhh...heh heh...I'll get to work then" the bot rubs the back of his neck. Guess he has to start his shift before Darkwing or Elita finds out he's been snitching work.
D-16 rolls his optics as he loads the last energon into the crate and he will be done for the day. It was tiring and his body felt sore, the workload has been increasing day by day. They barely get any rest, if they do, they only get a few minutes or so.
He closes the crate and watches it get taken away.
.
.
.
.
.
.
"Is this all it?" Sentinel says in disbelief, holding a data pad in his hands. He slams the data pad on the table causing everything on the table to be knocked over. He received the news of the mining progression and it wasn't good at all.
Their energon source is depleting and it won't be enough for everyone, let alone... for THEM! The Quintesson.
He has to find a way.
"Argh! There has to be a way!" he vents angrily. His optics turn to Arachnid, "Ready the troops for another expedition, now" he said as the femme nods and exit the office. Once he is alone, he turns around and calls out.
"Zephyrstrike! You told me that everything is going smoothly!" he said, coming out from the shadows is a slim mech in copper and black pallets.
"My master, please. Be patient, my team and I are doing our best to find it" Zephyrstrike said in a calm and soothing tone. "Patience! Patience that's all you saidâ" Sentinel growls, stomping over to the shorter mech. "I will be doomed once the Quintesson finds out that I barely provide energon for them!" he said.
"I know, master but finding the Matrix isn't easy. SteelHazard is trying his best to locate it, he hasn't had enough sleep for the pass cycles...." the mech said. "Alsoâ I bear good news, master. We have found a new mining area within the deepest caves of Cybertron. It will give us enough supplies for the next 3 moon cycles" Zephyrstrike assures the 'Prime'.
Sentinel quirk a brow at the news, a new mining area means more energon and more energon means more work for the cogless miners. The 'Prime' fixes his structure, "Very well, tell the mining operators about it and make sure everything goes well. Understand?" he said.
Zephyrstrike smiles and bows, "I understand, master" he said before disappearing into the shadows, back where he came from while Sentinel turns and leaves for another expedition.
.
.
.
"Listen up, all of you miners!" Darkwing's voice boom, causing all the miners to stop whatever they are doing. "The exploration team has discovered a new cave system. You know the drill! We call out your names, get your equipment and start digging!" he said. Some of the miners weren't so happy with the news they have received, another cave to mine and they have to work more than usual.
Their superiors start to call out each bots names and surprise that both Orion and D-16 were included.
Orion let out a groan, "Ugh, really? We barely finish with this cave and now we have another?" he said. "Come on, Orion. We are doing this for the good of Cybertron, for everyone and Sentinel Prime" D-16 said, picking up his mining equipment. "Yeah, I know" Orion smiles as he does the same. Both of them went to the station and were ready to be transported to the new cave.
"Hey, at least we get to see something new" D-16 smiles, nudging his friend. "Who knows if we will find the Matrix in that cave" he said. "Hm, you're right! ButâI'm going to miss going to the Archives now" he pouts. "Well, at least now I don't have to cover your aft anymore" D-16 said.
"Are you sure about that?" Orion grins as they board the train as it takes them to the new mining section.

"So... you don't think it's hard being pregnant?" I reiterated Harry's statement. "Uh well- no. I guess the start wasn't great when you had morning sickness n stuff but now you've got so much energy, no symptoms and your bump isn't even that big." He replied. I raised my eyebrows "ok then." A thought popped into my head. This is gonna to be fun.
Two weeks later I'd secretly brought everything I would need for the video. "Haz!" I shouted through our home "can you come here for a sec!" Seconds later I heard loud footsteps quickly coming down the carpeted stairs. "Everything alright?" He asked, once he was in our kitchen/dining room. "Yup, can you come and film a video with me... please?" He sighed then fixed his hair with his hands "Ok. What video?" I smirked "come sit down and I'll tell you." He sat down on the chair next to me and I switched the camera on. "Ok, so do you remember like... two weeks ago when you said that making a whole human wasn't that hard?" I watched as he got slightly nervous. "Uh yes." He replied. "Well I thought that today you could try it." His brows furrowed "Try what?" "Being pregnant."
"I bought this watermelon and some cling film." Harry sighed "oh nelly." I giggled then passed the melon to him. He held it in place while I used the cling film to attach it to him, over his shirt. "Fuckin hell this thing is heavy." He moaned. "Mhm, I bought the biggest one they had." I hummed. Once I was finished I made him put on and take off shoes, sit down, try to get comfortable, then stand up again, walk up and down the stairs and try to 'take a nap'. "I'm so out of breath." Harry stood bent over with both hands on his knees. While I stood filming him. I was finding it absolutely hilarious, since he'd thought it "wasn't that hard."
I sat in bed between Harry's legs, his hands gently resting on my bump. "Ok I admit it. I was definitely wrong, being pregnant is a lot harder than it looks. I'm sorry." He gently rubbed circles on my clothed skin. "Don't be sorry Haz. I got a great video out of it." He laughed.

My TF2 Fic Rec List [ Fanfics I've Read That You Should Too]
*cracks knuckles* right, let's get started! X Reader fics are not included bc I already did a list of them for an ask. Mind the tags and ratings, as always. I'll add to this as I collect more, but its decently long as is
Symbol Key:
** = Incomplete
~~ = Personal favourite
++ = Under 10k
SpeedingBullet:
~~Running Blind by TheTriggeredHappy
(( Scout's eyes are badly damaged in battle and for some reason, Medic's gun can't fix him. Until they figure out how to heal Scout, he needs someone to look after him and keep him safe.
Sniper is given the job.
[3rd person limited, Scout's POV, some character development done on a whim] ))
The SpeedingBullet fanfic. If you like Scout X Sniper, and you haven't read this one yet, I don't know what to tell you. You are severely missing out on not only a great romance story, but also fantastic team dynamics. Also has an available Podfic!
++From a Hospital Bed by SlightlyLessThanAnon
(( Jeremy wakes up in the hospital, his brain struggling the find coherent thoughts as the world churns around him, in and out of consciousness.
He finds the team may care about him a little more than he thought they did. ))
Short but sweet. More whole team fluff than strictly SpeedingBullet. Very cute.
~~Golden Brown, as well as its sister fic, Take Me Out by Ali_Ker (Alina_Kerrin)
(( After seeing his co-worker in a new light, Scout is faced with unknown feelings and a new, distracting perspective on things. ))
This lovely author can be found here under the handle @alikerao3
Grouped these two together because they are they same story, but told from the perspectives of Scout and Sniper respectively. Definitely a bit of a heavier read, especially for anyone who has dealt with Catholic guilt or internalized homophobia, but my God is it worth it. Don't just read one thinking it isn't worth it to read the other fic. Read both. Also, check out the song that inspired the title.
~~Going Through The Motions by AussieBookworm
(( Working under RED can be repetitive at times - but nothing like this. After a curse is fired his way, Scout is forced to live through the same day over and over and over again. It should be easy for someone as perfect as Scout to break the curse, right? As long as he doesn't have to confront the things he's been feeling towards Sniper it should be a piece of cake! ))
Possibly my absolute favourite TF2 fic right now. Scout gets character development out the ass, Demo has a prominent, important role, and there's a plot twist so good it had me tweaking out. TW for Suicide as a method used to get out of a time loop. Absolutely incredible, and it needs more love.
Gills and Gunpowder by popkeeki
(( Monsters are becoming increasingly rare. Between getting pushed to the periphery of society or being targeted by traffickers, life is hard when you are not (entirely) human. Like many others, Scout tries to keep his true form a secret. It has never really been a problem. That is, until a nosy teammate catches him mid-swim. ))
SpeedingBullet Mermaid AU!! Good luck finding a fic with this premise that also reaches this level of quality.
**~~Pet by Anonymous
(( Sniper's terrified of losing the one person he has in his life. It turns out there's a convenient solution to that: just make sure he has no way out, and the rest will follow.
Scout wakes up in a van he knows all too well, loopy and hungover, and Sniper's waiting for him.
*
Or: Learning to live with claustrophobia in small spaces Or: Making the best of assisted living Or: You canât outrun a fucking bullet ))
Are you like me? Do you enjoy Scout whump and Yandere!/Possessive Sniper? SpyDad? Do you want more of it in your life? If the answer is yes, than Pet is for you! No NSFW, just pure, delicious kidnapping and one-sided love.
General Fanfic Recommendations:
++Something's Up With Respawn by Camelot_taurus, Old Works (HarveyDangerfield)
(( Respawn starts to glitch, and the Administrator sets Engineer to work fixing it.
It doesn't take long for him to find out exactly what's going ))
Super funny, weird little oneshot. Basically, Respawn starts glitching and producing fucked up, Paperjam Dipper-esque clones of the Mercs.
++Mask Off by MatryoshkaDoll413
(( Scout is sick. Really sick. 'If we can't get this fever under control it's the hospital or the morgue' sick, and Respawn can't help him this time. They'd already tried that. He's gotten so delirious he's fighting Medic every second he's awake, not really lucid enough to remember so much as his own name, much less that of any of the team. Medic is ready to put him under full sedation and try and work things out from there, but Spy has an idea. ))
Wholesome SpyDad fic. Spy actually acts like a dad for once, for his sick little bunny.
~~++Scout, Respond by MatryoshkaDoll413
(( Scout wakes up in a dark, unknown place, with rocks bearing down on him and a spotty recollection as to how he ended up there in the first place. The only thing that keeps him sane is the voice of his team in his ear, telling him to talk, to breath, and, more than anything, to stay awake. ))
Scout gets trapped beneath a collapsed building, and receives comfort from his team over his headset while they race to dig him out. Super cute, definitely a must read, and I've done so more than once.

(( The clues had always been there, he had just never wanted to see them. Maybe neither of them had, instead content to deny the truth before their eyes for the rest of their days because it was better than confronting the alternative. Except Scout had died, and Spy wasnât able to keep on pretending for his last moments. A part of Jeremy was glad for it, despite the simmering rage and betrayal and hurt. So when he tried to look God in the eye and tell Him that Tom Jones was his father⊠He couldnât. Not really.
(Scout discusses his parentage with God, and stays dead for a little while longer. Well. A lot longer. On the plus side, he gets to attend his own funeral reception.) ))
An alternate take on Scout's death from the comics. Very Scout centric, obviously, and ends happily.
~~A Little Bird Told Me⊠by the_soup_specter
(( Medic learns a secretâ something personal, powerful, big enough to cause a rift in the team of mercenaries that could tear two of them apart. And for once in his life⊠heâs not sure how to proceed.
With no better ideas, Medic decides to ask his fellow mercenaries for advice. But as dueling viewpoints begin to pile up, will he be able to make a decision before the team is changed forever? ))
Medic learns Spy is Scout's dad, and spills the beans. Everything turns out ok, but man the aftermath initially ain't pretty.

(( the trans scout obsession has me in a vice
also if i donât vent my trans sadness i will literally rip a government building down brick by brick lmao ))
The fic that made me a trans Scout believer. If you're on the fence about that headcanon, maybe give this fic a read.
**~~Kith And Kin by BOREDGrace23
(( Mick never thought much of the BLU team. They were just clones, after all. Designed to be their opponents in a meaningless war.
That's why when he woke up, his vision blurry, his brain blistering from a headache like he'd just woken up from a hangover, and several burning questions about what had happened, he thought it was strange that they hadn't killed him already.
//
Or, BLU are clones and RED are decidedly not. Theyâre then forced to work together when their teams disappear. ))
If you like Emesis Blue, or horror in general, go read Kith And Kin. And when you finish, go give @boredgrace23 some love for such an incredible fic.
**++Der Junge by UpInFlamesWriting
(( Everyone on the team knows that Scout & Medic do not get along. They're like Sniper & Spy, except less bloodthirsty about it. Medic scares Scout, & Scout doesn't give Medic a reason to like him. When the two of them start being more than friendly all of a sudden, the team starts to worry, especially when it becomes obvious that Medic & Scout are keeping secrets from them. Scout & Medic are not about to tell the rest of the team that they are a pair of transsexual men, especially when Medic agrees to help Scout in his transition. For all the weirdness that goes on in the base, the world is not kind to queer people, & they aim to keep the reason behind their friendship a secret, even if it kills them. ))
Trans Scout and Trans Medic solidarity fic. I need more of this.
Eight Mercenaries and A Toddler by ChaosandMayhem
(( When Respawn malfunctions and their annoying Scout is turned into something far more precocious, it'll take all of the RED team's wits and patience to look after him. At the same time, Engineer must find a way to turn Scout back into an adult before the BLUs-or anyone else-realizes what's happened. No pairings, just a bunch of exhausted trained killers and one hyperactive child. ))
An Ancient Text from 2012 and the only FF.Net fic on this list, EMaAT is a classic for me. Lot's of Spy backstory, if memory serves. Quotes from this live rent free in my mind.
PracticalEspionage:

(( Engineer goes fishing. Hilarity ensues. ))
Don't let the description fool you. This is a non-con/mind break fic. If you like darkfic stuff, than this is for you~

do you have any head cannons for how Frank would take care of you on your period? i have endometriosis and my periods are really rough, i just started mine and couldnât help but wonder how he would try to comfort you đ„č congrats on your recent milestone!
Thank you!! And oh friend, that sounds rough and I hope you're doing well making it through yours this week! đ I definitely have some thoughts on how Frank would take care of his significant other when they are on their period--especially if it was a particularly rough one (or if they were always rough and painful). Frank is just a big softy under his hard exterior, and I feel like his caregiving side (that isn't seen often but definitely exists) would certainly come out seeing his partner struggling and in pain. He would make it his personal mission to make them as comfortable as he could. But I'll throw all my thoughts below the cut for this one!
Frank would know exactly when you were on your period just by looking at the pain etched across your face because of the cramps. You wouldn't even have to ask, he'd already be up grabbing you your preferred painkillers and bringing them straight to you without a word.
He'd get you a nice warm shower started first thing and demand you take it to help with the pain while he fixed you breakfast/coffee/tea. And he would absolutely refuse to hear you tell him not to worry about you. "That's what I do," he'd say. "I worry 'bout you 'cause I care. I'm always gonna worry 'bout you. Now don't argue with me and get in the shower."
On the worst days of your period he'd be telling you that you should be taking it easy for the day. And if you had to go into work? You can bet he'd be grumbling to himself about how "thatâs a buncha bullshit" and you deserve a sick day because you're clearly not feeling alright.
At the beginning of your period, he'd make a special stop after work at the store to pick up all your favorite comfort snacks to help cheer you up for the week. Because he knows the smile he'd get from you when he walked through the door with your favorites in hand and he could never pass up an opportunity to see it. And if you were low on painkillers, pads, or tampons? You can bet he'd have no issue picking those up, too.
Before bed at night, he'd sit down with you on the couch and let you choose to watch whatever you wanted, even if it was some ridiculous romantic comedy you've seen a hundred times or a reality show he absolutely hated. Sure, you might get his occasional commentary on it ("Who honestly thought up the idea for this?" "That ain't how that works in real life"), but you wouldn't hear a single complaint to turn it off. Though he'd certainly give you a very specific look if you joked about telling your friends that he'd been watching it with you.
Frank would absolutely be cuddling you while you relaxed, too. Maybe your legs would be draped over his, or maybe you'd be laying atop him on the couch. However you felt most comfortable, he wouldn't complain. And you could always guarantee that his fingers would absently trace patterns over you as you lay there, offering comfort he wasn't even aware he was giving.
At some point while you both relaxed you'd hear him say, "C'mere, let me help, sweetheart." And you'd know you were about to get the most relaxing back massage that would just about put you to sleep from his large hands that somehow always knew the right level of pressure to use.
When it was time for bed, Frank wouldn't mind being your personal heating pad. You want to lay curled around him? Use him as the big spoon to your little spoon? He'd happily comply because he remembered how you'd once told him that his body heat helped to dull some of your cramps so you could fall asleep.
