hiii i was wondering if you could write abt an asian mc ? with the brothers or the dateables i don't mind! i just think it would be funny to see yk asian mc who's a high achiever (so even at RAD when they know nothing abt magic they'll try to score high), always take off their shoes before entering a place (entering a place with shoes is forbidden !!), always cook rice or stuff from their country when on cooking duties ("wdym we already ate that when it was my turn last time?"), will make you special herbal tea if you're sick (first time i suggested to make tea for my ill white friend they laughed :( ), tells you to eat more and in the same fashion, whose love language is giving you food, etc... bonus point if mc swears in their mother tongue. And if the MC was living in their native country before going to the devildom, their ability to just nap anywhere as if it's normal.
As someone who grew up in an asian household it's just regular to me but i can picture the face Lucifer would make if the first time mc enter Dia's castle they take off their shoes casually or like MC stuffing Beel's mouth with food as if he just didn't swallow the biggest mouthful of udon ever saying "come on Beel you need food, you need strength to play Fangol"
For the nap thing i was thinking about my relatives who take nap on their wooden bad or just the floor during summer (cause its fresh yk). My grandma always said a hard bed is good for the back lol
Anyway no pressure!! Have a nice day and take care !
hi!! yes of course :)
i'm a different flavor of asian but some of the culture overlaps so this was fun to write! haha the amount of times my grandma has urged me to eat more is hard to count. oh and the amount of tea i drank when we went to visit. i'll never forget watching her make the tea because it was a whole experience
i'm half indian and someone actually requested an indian mc so that will be out tomorrow because doing these requests back to back easiest for me!
enjoy <3
Asian Mc
Lucifer
you're ALWAYS on him for the amount of coffee he drinks
you also always make sure he takes a break to eat dinner because he needs to eat in order to continue his work
despite how bothered he might seem sometimes, he really does value what you do for him
plus, you not only keep yourself in line, sometimes you do his brothers for him too. thanks on his behalf!
Mammon
once you grow closer, he's asking you to teach him swear words so he can cuss out lucifer
if you don’t, well, he’ll just pick them up when you swear and hope he can figure out what it means haha
if you want, feed him random words, or even compliments so when lucifer hears them, he'll just be confused haha
despite the fact that he's the demon, maybe you can help him in class
Levi
when he first meets you, he'd not sure what to expect
however he quickly learns you're the best at everything you do
this includes video games and everything of that manner
he's got competition now, but he has no clue how you got so good considering it was probably your first time at all of the games you've tried
Satan
he's impressed by your work ethic and desire to achieve
you got dropped in a totally new environment and instead of struggling to adjust like he predicted, you bounced back almost immediately and were at the top of your class like it was nothing!
he tried to ask you once why you seemed so determine to get the best grade and never asked again after the look you gave him
something the two of you can bond over, though, is tea! he can often be seen with a cup of tea so that's an easy conversation starter between the two of you if not homework instead
Asmo
while initially he thought you two might not get along, you actually do quite well
he's huge on no shoes in the house and especially in his room
after all, he wants to avoid bringing as many outside germs into his room as possible
can and will ask you to teach him how you make your special herbal teas because he hates being sick and genuinely just wants to know
Beel
he falls in love with your rice cooker
rice that easy and that quick? sign him up! if he didn't already love rice you've put him on it
he doesn't think he could ever part with you and your wonderful cooking
even if you do cook the same thing every time it's your turn, he will inhale it because not only is it delicious, but you're an amazing cook
Belphie
even he's impressed by your ability to fall asleep anywhere
at least he's always with his pillow and maybe a blanket but he's seen you just curled up on the porch waiting for someone to get home
but that sighting was rare, because he felt like he always saw you doing something
however he really appreciated all the little things you did for him, such as making his bed

Summer Camp, Football
I was so excited for science camp, it would be my last year as I would start college in the fall. The camp was huge and divided into four major sections; Arts, Sports, Science, and Space with Sports taking up most of the land. The different parts of the camp didn't mingle too much but every Fourth of July there was a gigantic celebration.
It was great seeing old friends and getting to bunk in one of the smaller Sci cabins. My best friend Jeff was assigned with me and we went over the catalog to see what classes there were for the seniors.
In the distance we could hear the rowdy football jocks. It was a trade off, the smaller more private cabins were on the outer perimeter close to the sports section, specifically the footballers. Jeff and I just ignored them while we made our schedules for the following 8 weeks. I started to unpack my huge suitcase into the dresser beside my bed, in the second drawer was a small football key chain with the camp logo emblazoned on it. I picked it up and got a slight static shock, I showed it to Jeff and he thought that some meathead must have forgotten it. We both laughed and well both got slightly turned on at the thought of one of those jocks sleeping in our beds.
The day went by quickly and soon we had our introduction dinner and met everyone in Sci. Soon though I was in bed, tired but excited for tomorrow.
Tomorrow came to early, I awoke at 4:19 am with tons of energy! It was like lightning had struck, i bounced out of bed and began to quietly pace hoping not to disturb Jeff. I decided to go outside where I heard grunting in the distance. I followed the sounds to a flat track woven in-between some cabins where some big jocks were doing an early morning run. One of them saw me and motioned to me, for some reason i went closer. This guy was stunning, he was shirtless and showing off his rock hard body. I felt my penis begin to tent as i drew close, He asked why I was here and I made up some story that my dad always takes me on early jogs and if i could join them. He looked me over and then said that any bro is welcome to join.
I got back around 6:30 my body sore but energized. Jeff was still softly snoring on his side of the cabin. I quickly went to the bathroom and took a shower. Jeff was just getting out of bed when I re-entered the bedroom, he rushed past me into the vacant bathroom, while he was getting ready I still was overcome with energy. I went to a spot on the wood floor and proceeded to do some pushups until I heard the shower turn off.
The next week flew by as I developed a new morning routine. Every morning I'd be up at 4am and jogging with Seth and his bros. They were all really welcoming, and I was having a great time just not thinking. Heck, Jeff even commented one day that I was looking healthier. It felt weird to keep this from my best friend but I know he wouldn't understand. Even though the guys here were awesome, Jeff had been bullied practically his entire life back home.
Afternoons soon became torture as my Sci projects were becoming harder to focus on. My body was brimming with energy and I couldn't wait for the two hours of free time before dinner. Jeff and I used to sit and watch the hunky Jocks play their different sports during the afternoon breaks but now I had the urge to join them. I feel bad for ditching Jeff but now I get in the water and go for a swim or grab some boots and go on a short hike.
Its been almost four weeks since camp started and I haven't felt this good in years. Every morning I get up and run with my bro Seth and the gang, then go and work out at the sports camp gym. By the time I get back to the cabin to shower and change Jeff is already gone. I feel bad for the little bro, he's obviously gay and a guy with my bod can't be easy to room with. It still kinda sucks that I'm in a Sci cabin but at least I'm not far from the rest of the footballers. After morning PT I go to strategy sessions and game history. Then the afternoon is spent playing touch footie with the guys.
The Fourth of July was a blast. All the different sports teams came together and we had scrimmages all day. The Sci Nerds showed off some dope looking robots and the Space Dweebs launched rockets. Later on the Theater Dorks put on a talent show, then came a cookout dinner BBQ. Lastly came the fireworks. As the sky was bombarded by the light, I noticed Jeff off by himself. Not wanting anyone to be alone I picked up my things and moved closer to him. Sitting next to him it was hard not to notice just how much smaller my cabin bro was.
At first he tried to ignore me, but fuck i am not someone who is ignored easily. I scooted my perfect ass up beside him and he told me to go away. I just sat there letting him get used to my presence, I felt an odd need to be protective of the little guy. I heard a sigh and then in a whisper Jeff asked if I knew how perfect I was.
Well duh, I am tall proportionally muscular and let's face it, any guy would be lucky to have a piece of me. Something awoke inside me, feelings that I knew were there but didn't want to admit. I was Mr. Popular, big man on campus, life of the party, but somewhere in the last month I had devolved a crush on this lonely nerd.
It was after midnight when Jeff and I got back to the cabin. I woke up with the little nerd spooning against my bod. Fuck it felt good having him next to me, my morning wood pressed against his back. Jeff woke up slowly and I felt the goosebumps as he realized his situation. His head tilted up and he looked into my eyes, I took the chance and kissed him gently..... which quickly turned into a passionate make out session... which....well, let's say the little nerd is one of the best cocksuckers ever. The moment I erupted into his mouth a slight bit of static electricity passed from me into him.
From then on we became inseparable. Jeff joined me for morning PT and came to support the team in our mock tournament with our sister campgrounds, while I tried my best to support his Sci shit. By the time we left, Jeff had put on some decent size and was getting along with all my bros on the team.
Epilogue:
Two men stand in the tiny cabin, marveling at how they'd spent so much time in such a cramped space. The taller man had just finished his second season in the NFL while his shorter husband had become the CEO of his own successful startup. The men stood there, reminiscing on how they met the summer before college and how they couldn't imagine life without each other. Jeff gave his husband's hand a squeeze before the two of them started their summers as owners of this special place.

143 • Bangchan
Just you and Chan saying I love you for the first time
Today was just like every Saturday morning, beams of light coming through your window, warming your face. A smile forming on your face as you remember your plans for the day. You and Bangchan go on a date every Saturday. It was hats to find the time during the week with you going to college, having way too many classes to go to, and Chan’s very busy schedule.
It’s not like you don’t talk to each other as much as possible, texting in between classes and when he was on break, and often falling asleep on the phone, his voice being the last thing you hear before drifting off to sleep. Sometimes your schedules would line up and you could have lunch together, always going to the coffee shop that was perfectly located between your university and his place of work, so you could both meet there without one of you driving forty minutes to the other. It was perfect.
Saturday quickly became your favorite day of the week.
Chan informed you yesterday that today he wanted to surprise you with what was planned for today, and that he'd pick you up at one o'clock. He told you to wear whatever you wanted, "but you might want to wear something to suite the weather, it's supposed to be pretty warm tomorrow." you recalled him saying. Checking the weather app proved he was right, saying it would be in the seventies and sunny for the majority of the day.
You stared at the ceiling for a moment after letting your phone fall to the space beside you on the bed. You were loving the way you felt like a school girl with a crush, giggling at the thought of him coming up with the idea of planning the date all by himself. You wondered what he had put together for you. Amusement park? Walk on the beach? Maybe a romantic dinner at an expensive restaurant? "At 1 pm?" you thought to yourself and decided to scratch that one off the list.
Once you finally rolled out of bed, glancing at the clock, it read 8 o'clock, so you decided to make some breakfast. Opening the fridge to see your options, and met with nothing that sounded good. You decided on a banana, since you hadn't been grocery shopping in a while and didn't really have anything else. Plopping down on your couch to watch a couple of episodes of your favorite show to pass the time. You had to pry yourself away from the television when you had to get ready, being that every episode ended with a cliff hanger.
You brushed your teeth and put on some light makeup, since you had no idea where you were going you didn't want to overdo it. Just some concealer, mascara, and lip gloss. Then you worked on your hair, curling so you had soft beach waves and pulled half of it up into a claw clip. You were indecisive on what to wear, you know he said it didn't matter but you couldn't help but worry you'd be to dressed up or worse and be dressed down. So you pulled out your phone and clicked on your recent phone calls, not being surprised that Chan was at the very top. You clicked on his name and put it to your ear, listening to it ring.
"Yes darling" his deep voice came from across the line and sent a shiver down your spine. No matter how many times you heard his voice it never ceased to make your heart flutter and have your stomach in knots.
"I don't know what to wear" you whined back into the speaker.
"I already told you that it didn't matter. Wear something comfortable."
"Can't you just give me a hint on where we're going so I can make sure I'm dressed according to my surroundings." You tried to negotiate, but he was having none of that.
"Do you not trust my judgment? Is this you telling me I have no since of style?"
"No of course no-" You tried to explain yourself but he cut you off almost as soon as you started.
"Wow I'm hurt honestly." The sarcasm in his voice was very much noticeable.
"Stop teasing me, you know how I am. I just wanna be sure, you know?"
"Tell you what, wear that dress I got you a couple weeks ago. It'll be perfect for today, I promise."
"You're sure?"
"Have I ever lied to you?"
"I don't know, have you?"
"No."
"Ughhhh fine I'll wear it."
"Good, I want to see you in it." there's those butterflies again. "I have to finish getting some stuff together so I'll so you later, alright?"
"Okay, L- see you later." You heard the call end and threw your phone on your bed and slapped a hand over your mouth. You couldn't believe you almost said it. The big L word. Did you love him? You've been together for almost five months. You still remember the day he asked you to be his like it was yesterday.
You both met at your university actually, Bangchan came to meet up with one of his friends. While you were walking out of the building he was walking in. You were so focused on your phone, ordering food so you could pick it up before going home. You ran straight into his chest, which made you stumble back a bit, although he barely budged. You didn't believe that you could fall for someone just by looking into their eyes until that day. He was surprised by what had happened, but soon stared back into your eyes. You were almost sure he was thinking the same thing you were. You didn't know how much time passed before you finally cleared your throat and apologized, never taking your eyes off of his. He was so mesmerizing, his eyes sparkled in the sunlight, his lips looked so soft and pink, and his brown curly hair was so perfectly neat. His skin was tan, he was buff but not big. He was definitely sculpted by God himself. You choked on air when he asked you for your number, definitely not expecting that. His confidence is admirable, if he didn't have the balls to ask you out you probably wouldn't be together today.
You knew on the first date that if he asked you to be his girlfriend you wouldn't hesitate to say yes. And that's exactly what you did. After a couple weeks of hanging out, texting nonstop, and just getting to know each other, he asked you to be his.
But does he love you? As soon as the thought entered your brain, you forced it away, refusing to let your stupid overthinking ruin your day. You distracted yourself by digging in the back of you closet to get the dress Chan instructed you to wear. The dress was a light baby pink color with spaghetti straps. It hugs your hourglass figure perfectly, insinuating your waist, and was looser at the bottom. It was very comfortable and only came down to your knees, so you could move freely. You put some white tennis shoes on and grabbed a small white cardigan to cover your shoulders from the wind. By the time you were finished it was 12:47 pm, almost perfect, you thought to yourself.
You finish putting everything you needed into a small purse and sat on your bed, scrolling through Instagram until you heard a knock on you door. You practically skipped to your door to open it, not even bothering to check and see who it was first. When you opened the door you saw a very handsome looking Chan staring down at his shoes, raising his head to just to lower it again, scanning your figure.
" You look so beautiful." He complimented you.
"It's just the dress." You smiled back at him, but his smile dropped.
"It has nothing to do with the dress" His words took you by surprise, you cheeks turning a bright red. Before you could respond he held out his hand for you to grab which you did, and he led you to his car. He opened the passenger's side door for you, and once you were in he closed it gently, making sure you were completely in. He got in and started the car, looking over at you.
"You ready?"
You shook your head aggressively. "I'm so excited"
"Good" he smiled back at you. He put the car in reverse and pulled out of the parking lot in only a few swift motions. He handed you the aux and told you to play whatever you wanted. So you decided on Lilac by I.U as the first of many songs you would play. You were singing along to the lyrics but couldn't fucus on what you were saying, when Chan's hands on the steering wheel caught your eyes. His fingers were covered in rings, most of them being ones you got him since you were basically weak for his beautiful hands.
It seemed that Chan noticed your internal fangirling, but only smirked as he made a sharp right turn. The sudden motion startling you, causing your left hand to land on his thigh. As soon as he straightened the steering wheel and slowed his speed, you yanked your hand away from his leg and placed it in your own lap, apologizing for what you did.
"Why are you apologizing?" He laughed at your flustered state.
"I don't know" You laughed with him.
"Here" He reached his hand out, his palm open and facing up, waiting for your own. You placed your hand in his, and all he did was intertwine his fingers with yours and rest his arm on the console. It was a simple and small gesture, but it made your heart race. Chan on the other hand was focused on the road without a care in the word.
After what felt like hours of driving, he finally pulled up to what looked like a really big park. He took the car keys of the ignition and unbuckled his seat belt, looking over at you probably expecting you to do the same.
"What is this?" You asked curiously. He threw his head back and groaned in frustration.
"We're so close babe, so close. But fine I'll tell you. We're going on a picnic."
"Really?!?!" You shrieked with excitement and quickly unbuckled before reaching for the door handle. Chan laughed loudly at your eagerness. He got out of the car along with you and opened the door to the backseat and pulled out two different lunchboxes and a blanket. You offered to help carry something but he refused and only grabbed your hand once again to lead you to the spot he had picked for you both. He led you to the top of a hill next to a big tree and laid out the blanket while you stood there in awe of the view. You could see a good portion of the busy city, and below the hill was a small playground where kids were playing and laughing. The tall tree shaded where you and Chan were standing, making it the prefect place to hide from the sun. Once he finished laying out the blanket and placing the lunchboxes on top of it, he signaled for you to sit down with him. You obliged and watched him take out containers of food from one of the boxes, and a couple bottles of soju from the other, along with two bottles of water.
"Did you make all of this?" You asked, genuinely curious.
"Yep. Took me all morning too."
"You didn't have to do all this. We could've just went through a drive through and ate here."
"You're right I didn't have to, but I wanted to. And I don't regret it either, not when I get to see you happy and smile the way you are. And especially when I get to know I'm the cause of it." His smile got wider with each word. "You deserve nothing less than everything I can give you, this is nothing compared to the things I would do to see you happy."
You didn't know what to say so you didn't, letting all your thoughts go and letting your needs take over. Before you could change your mind, you leaned across the blanket over all the food and kissed him. You knew right then and there that you loved this man and would do anything for him. Your hands were on either side of his legs to hold yourself up, and he placed his hands on the sides of your face to kiss you back. It was so passionate. You and Chan have kissed before but never like this, it was always nothing more than a peck. But this time was different, your lips moved together perfectly in sync. You weren't completely sure how he felt about you, but now you knew for sure he felt the same way you did. Totally in love.
He was the first one to pull away to catch his breath. Keeping his hands on your cheeks and starring into your eyes.
"I love you so much." Your eyes widened at his words, but you recovered quickly and smiled.
"Say it again." Your eyes flickered from his eyes to his lips and back to his eyes again.
"Only if you say it back."
"I'm so in love with you Christopher Bang Chan."
He erupted into giggles and you couldn't help but laugh with him.
"Not my government name."
"Say it back!" You whined.
"Okok I love you (your full name)."
You wanted to stay like this with him forever, but the moment was short lived when a group of teenagers starting yelling "get a room" and bunch of "oooh's" from afar.
You sat back in your spot and looked in their direction.
"I'm going to kill them." He laughed at your reaction.
"Come on, baby let's just eat the food before we attract ants"
You weren't the one to say no to him.
(not proofread)

ᝰ NEUN : ARGUMENT m.list • next chap
The second week of school quickly ended for Zayne and Mira. Although they had talked every now and then during class, they no longer saw each other privately.
After the relaxed introductory week at school, the students were literally overwhelmed with work and homework, which is why she already had to spend most of her time at home.
The initial euphoria of the school year was also slowly disappearing and she had settled into the everyday life of her new school. In the meantime, she knew where the rooms were, who all her teachers were and where she could find what.
But that also started the challenge of school life; she had less and less time to go out or live out her hobbies. Instead, she fought every day against the pile of homework on her desk and just when she finished, it was time to sleep.
Today was also such a day: it was Friday evening and she had been sitting on her history project for several hours, which she had to hand over next week. She was incredibly irritated and gradually all the tasks rose to her head, and she was afraid that she would leave this bad mood out on someone at home.
Just when she had decided to take a little break and ran into the kitchen to make herself a tea, her mother opened the front door humming and walked in with several shopping bags. Mira greeted her politely and then just walked past her.
The communication between her mother and her became increasingly tense, she noticed that at that moment, and she wondered how long it would take for one of them to finally break.
She put on water and already put a cup on the small worktop so that she could go back to her room until her mother blocked the door with a demonstrative movement and pointed one hand into the kitchen as if she would symbolize Mira that she should return.
Mira sighed irritatedly and pushed her mother's arm away as gently so that she could pass, but this time her mother was really serious. She didn't let go and grabbed Mira by the shoulders before she pushed her back in and closed the door behind the two.
"How much longer will we ignore each other?" she asked a moment later and brushed her hair out of her face before putting it up with a hair clip. Mira evaded her gaze and instead stared out the window while she hoped inwardly that her mother would end the conversation quickly. She didn't feel like arguing, and she didn't want to say anything that could hurt her mother.
"I have to do homework," she said when she realized that her mother didn't want to let go, but she still didn't move an inch from the spot.
"Tomorrow is the weekend, you have enough time for homework."
"But I want to do them today."
"Mira -"
"Mom."
For a moment, the two just stared at each other, and Mira could see the dismay in their eyes. She really didn't want to hurt her mother, but her mother should also accept that the two needed time apart.
"I would like to talk to you, but I have the feeling that you have completely closed yourself and won't let me in anymore," she remarked after a while and stepped from one foot to the other.
Mira sighed for the dozenth time that evening and lowered her head.
"I just don't want to talk about it, that's all," she replied.
"You're too hard on me," her mother replied. "As you can see, I'm trying to change some things, but you're still hanging on past things and -"
"Past things?" Mira said now horrified and leaned away from the kitchen top.
"I'm attached to past things? Mom, just a few weeks ago you were the one who passed on all my savings to my father, if you remember?"
"Mira, but I have already apologized for that!" her mother now also shouted in horror and took a step towards the young girl, who did not let herself be irritated by it.
"It doesn't matter," she replied in a calm tone. "Just because you apologized doesn't mean I forgot it right away. I'm still hurt, and that won't change anytime soon."
Mira watched her mother freeze for a moment before she caught herself and waved her hands in the air.
"Mira, I will be patient with you because this situation is very exhausting for all of us, but you can't judge me so much either."
"I want to go to my room."
"No, I want to solve this."
"I want to go to my room," she repeated, trying to walk past her mother, but her mother just didn't let her pass, which irritated the young girl even more.
Since her mother provoked the quarrel between the two, one of them would fall asleep crying tonight - with a great probability it was Mira if she did not go to her room now and thus avoided the dispute.
"You are far too hard on me," her mother repeated again. "I may have done the wrong thing, but I still always tried to be there for you and Elias."
"Yes," she interrupted her mother and tiled her head as if she could then understand her mother better, but she was far too angry, far too hurt, far too disappointed -
"But if my father hadn't just kicked you out of the house, you would still stand by him."

Can I please request a Whumpy Shinsou drabble? Love you!
yes u can :3
read on ao3
-
"You know, I really do think Kaminari is improving, not just with his studies but his mental state too. Bakugo tutoring him is not what I expected to work, but hey I'm not complaining-"
"Mic, I'm trying to focus on the kids."
Hizashi snorts, jabbing him in the side, "Good thing I'm talking about said kids, eh?"
Shouta rolls his eyes, still stubbornly focused on the group sessions he set up today.
Yet another not-so-secret evaluation for Shinsou, to see which class he'd be better suited in. Not that Shouta's biased, but if he were, he'd say the kid would do well in class A. The dynamic he's already formed with several students, not to mention it would give him yet another reason in his dissertation to expel Mineta.
"Shinsou and Monoma seem to be going pretty hard." Mic observes, shifting on his feet.
Shouta hums in agreement. That had been the point.
He'd be lying if he said he wasn't curious to see if Monoma would draw a blank or not, but so far Shinsou has managed to evade his attacks; leading to a game of tag across the training grounds.
He winces when his student trips over one of Todoroki's discarded ice projectiles, taking a hard fall onto his right shoulder.
Shinsou cries out, holding a hand out to try and fend Monoma off while clutching his injury.
Shouta is tempted to intervene, but before he can Monoma slaps his hand down on Shinsou's leg.
He appears to ask Shinsou a question, which Shouta can't tell if he answers or not.
Monoma rolls his eyes and kicks the kid's limp leg before saying something else.
Shinsou's back goes rigid, legs jerking. He sits up, clutching his throat.
His frantic expression is fixed on Monoma, who is quickly turning pale.
"Oooh Bakugo's gonna wake up with a bruise tomorrow." Mic's voice cuts through Shouta's tunnel vision, bringing him back to reality.
He ignores the comment, striding quickly forward to the two boys.
Monoma's frantic rambling becomes clearer as he closes in.
"No, breathe, come on Shinsou I'm not trying to fuck with you." The blond holds his arms out, hovering over Shinsou. "Breathe normally, damnit!"
"What's going on." Shouta's gruff voice causes both boys to look at him, panicked expressions almost identical.
"Sensei, my quirk, the quirk is wrong. I told him to shut up and-" He gasps, eyes flickering between Shinsou and Shouta, "It's not- I can't undo it."
Shouta bends down next to Shinsou, letting the boy grip his hand. His face is turning bright red, the veins in his temple bulging. He activates his quirk, grunting when he still doesn't breathe.
"You copied his quirk, you can't undo it?" He re-states the facts, trying to get a grip on the situation.
Monoma shakes his head, "N-no I, fuck I think it mixed with another quirk I have copied, it shouldn't be able to, it hasn't ever done this before-"
"Monoma!" He barks sharply, "What other quirk do you have copied, tell me now."
"Some business course student, teal skin, she has an 'influence' quirk, I'm not sure how it works but-"
"It must've fused with his since they're so similar." Shouta rolls his shoulders, jerking his head to Shinsou, "Call me on your phone so I can talk to Monoma. Stay awake, kid."
Shouta pats the kid's arm, ripping his hand away with great difficulty.
He shoves his fear and stress down to the pit of his gut. He will process this when the kid can breathe again.
"MIC." He shouts, acquiring the man's attention immediately, "Quirk malfunction. Erasing target, check with Shinsou."
Hizashi stutters, blanching at the field language during a school day, but gives his affirmation and jogs the other way.
Shouta resumes his sprint to the main building, breaking at least four door handles on the way.
45 seconds into his trek he feels his phone buzzing in his pocket. He curses, fumbling for it in his pocket. Seeing Shinsou's name on his screen only eases his worry microscopically.
He answers.
"Monoma. How is he."
"I took over, the kid was flipping his shit." Mic's voice answers, "You know who to find?"
Shouta grunts in affirmation, rounding the corner to the business wing. "Almost there. Is he conscious?"
"Barely, Eraser. You need to be quick."
His eyes dart around the classrooms, keeping an eye out for the girl.
"Shit," he curses after the last classroom comes and goes with no sign of her.
"Shit shit shit shit," He whips his head around, steeling himself and throwing open the door to the women's restroom.
And there's teal.
He's sure it's not the greatest first impression to leave on a kid, not when he's known for expelling students, but he activates his quirk immediately.
She recoils as if he's about to attack, squealing and throwing her arms up in defense.
"Shouta!" The fuzzy voice calls from his hand, "He's okay! You did it?"
Shouta blinks, eyes burning from the wave of emotions and dry eye.
He sighs tiredly, exiting the bathroom as quickly as he entered.
"Problem children." He mutters into the receiver.
"You said it, man."

I'm gonna do this again because it turned out last week kinda went off the rails without it and the little bit of accountability is super super helpful.
Monday!
It's a busy week! It's also my birthday week! Let's do this!
E-mail with coffee: sent a prospective grad student a congratulations on her admission to our program. I'm really hoping to hire her, but I do need to consider whether I might want to admit two students for this position and just get the extra funding for the second one elsewhere if both decide to come. Hmm. Confirmed coffee on Friday with the wonderful admin I've been wanting to befriend for a while - finally we'll interact outside of paperwork! Sadly Wednesday's seminar speaker is ill and won't be able to present - I'm leading the seminar so that does add up to a little less work for me, which is the silver lining there. One of my student groups is struggling to grab data from the weather station they built on the roof because the dang software doesn't work on Macs - managed to coordinate getting them a loaner PC laptop from the department, whew. Completed two letters of reference for an undergrad student applying to internships. Somehow managed to double-book a meeting and gave one a heads up to cancel. Showed my availability for scheduling a PhD defense for a student whose committee I'm on. One of the speakers for my seminar series sent a somewhat passive-aggressive e-mail to the department chair to let him know his info's not up on the website yet. Department chair forwarded it to me, I replied with, essentially "hold your dang horses, your talk isn't until mid-March". He replied back with a sheepish apology. All good.
Formulated my list of essential stuff for this week:
finish Wednesday's (and next week's?) lecture(s?)
prepare next week's homework & key
work on grant proposal
work on commissioned review article
So excited that we're finally to the part of the class that I have taught before in past years! Great lecture today about statistical data analysis. Hurt everyone's brains with the Monty Hall problem. Showed a lot of XKCD comics, got some laughs. Good times. Answered some student questions on the homework assignments, looks like everyone's on track to ace this one as well. This is a really strong class and I'm very proud of them!
On to a virtual meeting with my peer mentoring group! We talk about how utterly wild it is that different departments manage research funding in completely different ways. I vent a bit for the umpteenth time about having to rely 100% on grants to pay my grad students (bigger departments often have student funding provided if they TA, but we just don't have enough classes to sustain that). Easily the biggest source of stress in my life right now is running out of funding for my students: "in order to pay your graduate students, you have to receive a major grant" "cool! how likely am I to get one?" "success rates are about 1 in 15" "uhhhh" "also the applications (if you manage to find a perfect match for your research) take about 40-60 hours to plan and write and it's not work that's looked at formally as part of your tenure review so you're actively taking time away from research" "uhhhhhhh" "and you won't find out if you have been awarded the grant or not before you have to make the decision to hire a student so you just gotta gamble on it" "UHHHHHHH" "you don't get paid in the summer either unless you pull in 2-3 grants that can each cover one month max of salary so I hope you're not putting well over 50% of your take-home toward rent in one of the worst markets in the US or anything haha." It's A Lot. But it's very helpful to talk to people about it!
Realized I left my half-finished Wednesday lecture on my computer at home so I can't work on it during my break between meetings. Shoot, guess that's a tomorrow problem. At least I can work on the homework assignment! This one was an absolute nightmare last year but I think I've come up with a way to simplify it while still hitting all of the learning goals. It's complicated but hopefully very satisfying and builds on everything they've learned thus far. Even with the simplification, I'm definitely expecting some traffic in office hours next week. Opted not to include the more tedious section of the homework because I've tested that particular skill amply in the earlier assignments this quarter. Ran through it once on my own, sent myself the key, then posted the homework and the submission portal for their online module for next week, so all I'm missing now is the lectures.
E-mail break! A professor at a small university nearby wants to bring in a grad student from my group to talk to her class about tornadoes! I have someone in mind (who is both a great presenter and also could use a little confidence boost to get back on track with his research), but of course he's working remotely on the other side of the country, so it's time for a quick check to see if a remote presentation is possible. Checking in on my seminar speaker for next week - project title and abstract up on the website, phew. She's a grad student, so I should find out if her advisor can introduce her or if they want me to do so (and if so, I gotta do some digging for fun facts to share!). Got an invite to a lunch with the faculty & chair where we're going to be brainstorming our next faculty hire, so I gotta be there for that (also because free food)! Surreal to think that we might be hiring my colleague for the next 30 years. It's... kind of intimidating and I definitely want to be in the room for that discussion. Aha! A reply already: virtual talk is fine, so I put the professor and my grad student in touch.
Nice virtual meeting with my former postdoc advisor - we commiserate for a while over his recent illness, but he's feeling better now so we quickly jump back to talking research. The small grant I was awarded recently actually dovetails with some of the broader research ideas he and I had been talking about, so I'm gonna keep him in the loop on that!
Up next: a meeting with my two undergraduate research interns. They're coadvised by my colleague who is flying research aircraft on the other side of the country right now so it's just the three of us. Due to holidays and conferences, this is actually the first time in 2023 we all managed to meet! We go over some paperwork to make sure they get college credit for this research. They're spinning their wheels a little bit but I had them shoot off a couple emails while I was there to start them getting their data ASAP. We then chatted about severe weather we'd all witnessed. One of the students mentioned she's been saving the candy from my office candy bowl for whenever she forgets to bring lunch to campus and now I'm realizing I should maybe get some protein bars or something for some variety.
All good stuff. There's a seminar in 15 minutes but it's a chemistry seminar so... I may just sneak home a bit early.
Tomorrow: no meetings (maaaybe one remote meeting), so work-from home! Should be able to get the last bit of coursework done for the week so I can start on my research to-do list.

I wonder if you can't help but think about me as much as I think about you
I wonder, if your remarks about how I'm "so mature" and "different" ever ring out in your head the same way they do in mine
I wonder, if you ever stay up, thinking about how it was in the hospital in the ICU, when you gave me the ultimatum of either giving it the ultimatum of making us official, or breaking up with it, or you'd leave
I wonder, if my openness at the beginning of our relationship about being scared to death of people leaving me contributed to you saying time and time again how you've fallen for me and have to leave, if I don't feel the same
I wonder, if you knew just how much my heartbeat spiked every time I checked my phone during classes, even as teachers reprimanded me, just to check if you haven't texted me, because you'd already scolded me for not replying to you immediately during my school hours
I wonder, if you remember me saying there was a 4 years age difference between me and my sibling, and my astounded comments about just how big of a difference I feel between us because of it
I wonder, how you felt on my 18th birthday
I wonder, if you break over it just as often as I do
I wonder, if my sexual texts felt forced, or if I covered it up well enough
I wonder, if I was the only "mature" one you found
I wonder, what made me so "different"
I wonder, if unlike me, you can bring yourself to say my name in a conversation
I wonder, if you think about our conversations anymore, considering the war
I wonder, if you justify how things ended with my nationality
I wonder, if you'd think even lower of me and my people, if you knew I drink now
I never read your final message, I'm sorry, I didn't want to be tempted to respond. I wouldn't have been able to handle that
I never thought I was a cheater, until it made me realise that was what I did
I never thought I'd be capable of that, and yet, I was just so scared of losing you that I did
I wonder, if you'd also have had a panic attack, seeing someone who sort of looked like me on the bus
I just turned 20
It's 3am as I'm typing this
I have uni tomorrow at 8 am
I don't want renewed contact
I cut all contact and did my best to ensure I'd never be able to contact you again
But it's late, and lack of sleep with a slight help of alcohol isn't too good at stopping bad decisions
I don't think you're a terrible person
But the idea that you lack my perspective keeps me up at night, as I question my very own reality
I've known you quite intimately for a while, after all. I can't help but picture just how you talk/think about me
And yes, I was a piece of shit who couldn't let go and instead people-pleased to the extremes, admittedly hurting you also
But Jesus Christ, Zoey
Next time just don't let a 17yo with severe abandonment issues insist they're grown up and mature, and know exactly what they're getting themselves into
Aight since it's been a while I'll answer this. Maybe you'll see. I assume you've moved in by now, so it's safe to answer
I did wait until I knew it was okay because I wanted to back you up in the worst of it. After you passed me the news it was stable, I broke things off
The ultimatum was necessary because you're not a cheater, and it shouldn't be my choice to back off either because that's not fair to it, not to know if you would've chosen it. You needed to choose yourself for everyone's benefit
Honestly I made it as painful as possible because you've said before stuff like "I'd fight for you you'll never be able to push me away". I got quite a show going hoping to severe it well enough that your feelings die, hoping to leave it a boyfriend who's loyal, only thinking about it and not missing some other girl, praying you never contact me again. Thought you both deserved a clean break. Better if you were mad and not sad, unsure if that plan worked out by the looks of this anon
I got diagnosed with autism also. Professionally. Horray!!! Oh and also my country is going through something as you know. I think I'm having a worse time than you actually. People in my year have died, people I knew, and people you're friends with will say they deserved it. I'm pretty sure I have PTSD, I wake up to nightmares every other night, but everyone is in the same boat over here, and it's not like we're safe enough to use comforting words like "it'll be alright" or whatnot. You knew me as a person before the war, but you probably think I deserve death too. I still don't care about your nationality, even if I flinch because of so much history, you're you, and things are too serious to make it about me or us or anything.
Hope this gives you some peace of mind, mr. Grown up man
For the protocol, what would you have me do? Your abandonment issues shouldn't mean I have to stay and sabotage your boyfriend's life, it comes first, this was the healthiest possible solution I could even think of. Especially after realizing how much damage my presence was causing, you agree I was damaging you, no?
Also please remember that I'm the piss poor awkward virgin with very few friends and you were younger but also the cooler more popular and openly sexual one. I never talked with anyone like that neither before nor after you and it, I was ready to do anything to keep you both and to make you like me as much as I liked you, but it wasn't like I was any more confident or mature. I'm still dumb like that, I thought you were the hottest shit on the planet and opened up a regrettable amount. Scared me to think you had access to the vulnerable photos I sent you and what you might do with them
I ended up failing in so many classes after ending contact with you, what happened with it fucked me up mentally and I started therapy, I had to repeat a semester and I'm still seeing my therapist weekly. You didn't have to see any of that, I dealt with it alone. Being severely anxious, demotivated, not having the mental strength to read or draw (I hadn't since we last collabed), burning out like a piece of newspaper, failing to maintain my personal bonds, still working on trust, therapist is still working me up to maybe not feel so helplessly unlovable that I reject every hint of attempt anyone makes of flirting with me out of my own insecurity assuming they'll reject me once they get to know me better and it's better not to try. Almost got a panic attack in the car with a friend when he dropped me off near my house because I thought he was going to ask me out, I ran
Oh btw how did you handle the Wilbur Soot situation? I wondered about you. Actually don't answer that, we're no contact right? Move on:) hope it's well these days, or better. Hope I removed myself as well as I hoped and helped it heal
Edit: on second thought, I'm still being nice. The truth is meaner, I didn't even have romantic feelings for it for the longest time, I made myself uncomfortable over and over and tried to please it in hopes it would like me enough to allow me to be with you. I paid for a trip abroad to see it when all I wanted is to find a place with you. I ended up having feelings for it too but they were faint. It was a good thing we didn't work out. It never could have or should have. Now you go and call me all these things when you were always the narcissist between us three. You make me sound like a predator for "believing you" but I know myself, I know how much I sacrificed for you two only to get dumped, trampled on, you don't even see me as a person anymore. You should have rejected me when I asked you to do so the first time, let me go, let me move on, and not lead me on. OH! I'm actually polyamorous, let's try and make my boyfriend okay with that. I've gone through so much shit because of you.
I bet to your friends you only say I was four years older and made you feel bad, so to answer that question no, I don't struggle to say your name. Did it plenty in therapy. you know the truth and you should be sorry.

Love Quarrel // Charlie Weasley x reader
MASTERLIST
Genre: Angst and Fluff
Summary: Having a fight with your boyfriend Charlie about your future right before graduation and his final quidditch game as both capitain of gryffindor qudditch team and final game ever for Hogwarts is not an ideal situation. Will the fight be solved or be the end of them?
Warnings: Angst, cursing, Charlie being selfish idiot, not knowing what to do after graduating
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: Charlie is back! I hope you guys enjoy this fic I wrote on Thursday (thankfully) because I had a feeling I won't be stable enough after watching the NWH today ( I predicted correctly, still haven't processed it fully). Charlie is someone I really enjoy writing for, so I hope I'll find more inspo to write for him!!
It was the day of Charlie's last quidditch game. In few weeks he'll be graduating and on his way to make his dream of working with dragons come true in Romania. Everything was perfect. Students and families were excited, the quiddtich stands were filled with ravenclaw and gryffindor colours, cheers could be heard all the way to the changing rooms. Fred and George were practically bouncing off the walls with excitment about their last game of their first season. They wanted the cup badly. Oliver Wood was pacing around, trying to think of the best ways to keep the quaffles from entering the hoops. But Charlie? All he could think about is how much he fucked up yesterday. He promised himself when you two started dating he'll never hurt you, not intentionally. But that's exactly what he did yesterday.
You woke up, got ready and went to great hall for breakfast. The day was going just as the other ones were. Good and nothing out of ordinary. You were excited and sad at the same time for Charlie's last game as quidditch capitain. He wasn't at the breakfast but you knew you'll see him during lunch. About three hours later, you had a break between classes so you were resting by the lake, reading a book. A few minutes into your book, you felt a famililar warmth of arms, wrap around your shoulders, face burrying into your neck. Chuckling, you wrap your arms around his. '' Hi Charlie. '' still not letting go of you, he places a small kiss on your cheek and then on your lips. '' Hi angel. What are you reading? '' he sits behind you, his front to your back, letting you rest against him. '' It's the same one from few days ago, didn't get to finish it then. How are you feeling about tomorrow? It must be a big pressure on you. '' you looked up at him. As you felt him sigh, he wrapped his arms tighter around you. '' I trust my team, I know we can win against ravenclaws, we've done it before many times. But the thought of me not being the quidditch capitain or playing for gryffindor again makes me sad and it's all surreal. I mean we'll be out of Hogwarts for good in few weeks time. And the fact that I'm leaving for Romania almost immediately after graduating and you not coming with me? It's tearing me apart. I never want to be apart from you.'' you sighed. '' You know how much I wish I could come with you to the sanctuary in Romania, to see you be with creatures you love so much, to finally accomplish what you wanted for so long, but I can't do it because I can't leave my family and I have to figure out what I wish to do with career. Do I continue studying to become a herbology or astrology professor here at Hogwarts, do I become a healer or mediwizard? I mean Madam Pomfrey could always use some help in medical wing. It's all so frustrating and infuriating. You got your dreams come true, Charlie. Don't let them go wasted. Live it to it's fullest. '' Charlie lets out a groan. '' You could do all that figuring out your life while living with me in Romania, y/n. I'm sure your family wouldn't mind you trying to find your place in the world. Come with me. Please. '' you pull away from his arms, turning around. '' Why can't you just let me figure it out somewhere I'm comfortable and have something to do whilst figuring out? I love you, Charlie. I truly do. But I don't have it in me to drop everything and leave just to be with you in Romania. Romania isn't that far away, I'll visit you as much as I can. You can tell me all about different kinds of dragons in the sanctuary and at night we can just cuddle to sleep like we used to do here in Hogwarts. Isn't that enough for temporarily solution? '' Charlie got up. '' Yes it could work in a theory. But what if all those things happen once or twice a year because you're so busy 'figuring out' or what if you fall in love with someone else while figuring out?! God damnit y/n, there are so many thingsthat could happen. I just wish you would stop being selfish even for a minute. '' And with that he left, leaving you all alone baffled, on verge of tears. How dare he call you selfish? Scoffing, you closed your book and went back inside. You knew he wasn't properly thinking and was under a pressure, but you understand him more than anything and yet he took out his frustrastions on you.
- Present time
The commentator just announced Ravenclaw team, and they flew out. A minute later, the commentator aka Lee announced the gryffindor team and the crowd was wild. As Charlie flew into the air, he searched the stands and saw all of your friends, his family from his parents to his siblings. But no sign of you. He wasn't sure what was he expecting when he literally blew out on you when you were trying to be reasonable with him. He never should've taken out his frustrations on you. As game progressed, he was distracted. No sign of snitch anywhere, the ravenclaw seeker was always around him. He just wanted for either him or for the ravenclaw seeker to finally catch the snitch so he could find you and apologise. With a quick glance on the stands, he could see a person moving towards where his family and your friends were, but the sign was hiding the face. Not thinking much of it, he tried his best to focus back on the game.
Deciding you had enough of pouting about what he said to you yesterday, you grabbed the sign you previously have made for this game, put on the spare jersey he gave to you, with your eyeliner you wrote his jersey number on your cheeks and made your way to the quidditch field. As you climbed the stands, you saw the majority of Weasley's along with the mutual friends of yours and Charlie's. Making your way towards there, you turned the sign so it was facing you, not wanting to Charlie see you already. As soon as Molly saw you, she instantly brightened up. '' Oh y/n, my darling! I was worried when I saw you weren't here cheering for Charlie! I'm so glad you made it! Here you can sit in between Ginny and me. '' Nodding your head, you smiled both at Molly and Ginny, giving a quick hug to Ginny. '' What does your sign say, y/n? '' smiling you, showed it to her. She giggled and focused on watching her brothers play. Taking a deep breath, you turned the sign, on which it said ' #6 you're quite a CATCH ' with a drawn snitch. Smile was playing on your face as you raised the sign above your head so that he could see it's you, cheering for him as loud as you can. About few minutes after you raised the sign, he finally saw you. He laughed with his whole body as he saw the sign and soon after that, he started playing the best he ever did in his entire 'career' of being a seeker. 10 minutes later, the game was won. Charlie caught the snitch.
After he changed and showered in the changing room, he went on finding where you were. He owed you an apology. You were standing there, with his family talking. Fred and George joined you since they decided on skipping shower in the changing room, wanting to go back to their dorm to do it. Quickly approaching you, he wrapped his arms around your middle, lifting you up. A small scream of surprise was let out of you, before just laughing. '' I'm so sorry for everything I said yesterday. These last 24 hours were torture for me. I can't believe I told you were selfish, if anything I'm the one being selfish for not wanting to be apart from you. I love you with my entire heart. Please forgive me. '' he told you quietly, not wanting for his family to be annoying and put their noses into your relationship. '' It's okay Charlie, I was sad about you saying all those things and I didn't appreaciate you taking your frustrastions on me. But I forgive you. I love you with my entire being too. ''
Everything was alright. They were still not sure how everything will be handled regards their distance, but the promise of trying their best and very often visits is what made them succeed in the future. A small wedding in Romanian sanctuary with a baby dragon as their ring carrier is exactly what fitted into their small unique world.

Professor | Zemo + Lauda
Professor AU!
Gender neutral reader
For @lieutenantn
[Next chapter]
Part 1
University was stressful, but it was stress you would work through for your future. However, your stress just seemed to grow, and it had nothing to do with your class work.
It all came down to two of your professors.
Professor Zemo and Professor Lauda.
Both of them were incredibly handsome men who you often found yourself daydreaming about. You counted yourself as incredibly lucky to find yourself in their classes.
Helmut Zemo, your history professor. He comes from Sokovia, a country you knew very little about before learning this fact. You were his top student, but only the two of you knew that.
Niki Lauda, your languages professor. From Austria, where you have been, and would hope to go again just because this man lived there. His eyes would linger on you during class and you found it hard to keep up appearances with all your classmates around.
Both of these man had you wrapped around their fingers, but you had no idea just how bad it would become. You left your current class with Professor Zemo and headed back to your dorm.
With classes wrapped up, the teachers gathered in the teacher's lounge for lunch. There were only two teachers in there as of now. Zemo and Lauda.
The two men looked at each other.
It was no secret they despised each other. However, the reason for the hatred was a secret. No one could know they were both doting on the same student.
Both men utterly adored you.
Helmut Zemo would whisk you away during the breaks and holidays. He would take you on trips to places you had never been before, and some that you had just to create new memories with you. He would spoil you and buy you gifts. He would dance with you late at night in his office or his home. He would cook you dinner and make love to you at any ungodly hour.
Niki Lauda would take you Austria with him, show you sights. He would make you wear his jackets as he wrapped an arm around you, wanting people to know you were together. He would invite you into his office just fuck you on his desk, warning you to be quiet if you made too much noise. He would sit you in his lap while he graded papers and pepper your neck and cheek with kisses.
Niki glared at Zemo as he got what he wanted and sat down on the far side of the room. He hated him.
With graduation only days away, Niki was desperate to win you over. He wanted you come home with him and stay. He wanted you in his life so badly, but this other man was standing in his way. He couldn't have you until you let Zemo go completely.
Helmut barely paid him any mind as he tucked into his lunch. He only came to the lounge because he knew Niki would be in here, otherwise he would eat in his office.
Letting Niki Lauda have you was the last thing he would do.
"Y/N looks good today," Zemo says, knowing Niki had yet to see you today. His class with you want until later.
"Y/N looks good every day," Niki replies, still glaring at him.
"What will you do when they graduate?" Zemo's lip curls into a grin as he eyes the Austrian man.
"I shall take Y/N back home with me. I will hand in my notice and teach back in my home country."
Helmut couldn't help the laughter that tumbled from his lips. That had to be the funniest joke he had ever heard. He did not care for how much harder Niki narrowed his eyes at him.
"What's so funny, asshole?"
Helmut composed himself and smiled wickedly at him. He sat up a little more straight as he replied.
"Sorry, it's just funny you think Y/N will be going back to Austria with you. Y/N and I will be returning to my homeland. We will be very happy in Sokovia."
Niki was so pissed, he broke the pen in his hand. Ink covered his fingers as he stood up cursing in German.
Helmut chuckled at Lauda's predicament.
"That was your fault, asshole. Y/N will not choose you." Niki gathered his things and stormed out of the room.
Helmut had another good laugh once he was alone.
You made your way to class. Languages. You had been studying hard for this class, really wanting to impress Niki. He had been helping you in private... after your vigorous activities.
You were the first in the class. Niki turned around when he heard someone enter, and his face relaxed tremendously when he saw it was you.
"Y/N, can I see you after class?"
You smile softly.
"Sure. In your office?"
He nods. He can't say any more as the door opens and other students come flooding in. Throughout the class he steals glances at you. You offer him a small smile every time he looked up at you.
When class was over you lingered behind and waited for everyone else to leave. Niki disappeared into his office and you quickly followed after him, but not acting to out of it. You didn't need rumours to start from those last few studentseaving the class.
As soon as the door closed behind you, Niki pulled you over to his desk and into his lap. He had his arms around you has he rested his head against your chest. You lifted one hand to tangle in his curly hair.
"What is it?"
"Your graduation is coming soon," he says softly.
"Yes. It's come really quickly."
He sighs as he gazes up at you with his stunning eyes. You smile softly and give him a gentle kiss.
He lifts a hand to rest against the side of your face.
"What are you going to do?" He asked.
"I... I don't know."
Niki runs his thumb along your cheekbone and stares intensely into your eyes. You know what he's asking. It had been on your mind for some time now, but you didn't know what you were going to do.
How were you suppose to choose between these two men?
You run tour fingers through his curls again and sigh softly, biting at your lip in thought.
"I don't know," you said again.
Niki pulls you into a kiss and keeps you there for a moment, making it linger. He needed to feel you, taste you.
You broke the kiss and stood up.
"I need to go. I'll see you tomorrow Niki."
He doesn't want to let you go, but he has to. He has one final class to do before the day ends. However, it would be hard to focus on it when he can only think of you.
You look back at him as you leave.
You walk down the hall with your books tucked under your arm. You knew you would have make a decision because you could only have one.
....or none, but you didn't want that!
Lost in your thoughts of Professor Lauda, you were startled when someone grabbed your arm and pulled you into the nearest classroom.
Helmut pinned you up against the wall beside the door, his lips already on your neck. Your books tumbled to the floor as you snaked your arms him.
"Professor!"
He grins against your skin before pulling back so he can see your eyes. He pinned your wrists to the wall, but he was gentle about it.
"I missed you," he whispered against your lips.
You smile softly and kiss him.
"I missed you too."
He let's go of your wrists and cradles your face in his hands. He looks sad. You place your hands over his and savour the warmth they give off.
"I know what you want to ask, but the answer is, I don't know."
Helmut sighs as he rests his forehead against your shoulder. You press a kiss above his ear and lean your head gently against his. One of his hands slip into yours and his fingers curl around your own.
"I don't to want to lose you to him," he mumble.
"I know, but I don't know how I'm suppose to decide. Damn this university for hiring attractive professors," you chuckle.
Helmut chuckles with you.
He stands upright and looks at you softly.
"You can't blame us for falling for you. Who ever wins you over will be very lucky indeed. Just... don't let it be him."
"Professor... I can't promise anything."
"You have until graduation," he tells you, steeping away from you. He takes a step back and looks at you as a professor should.
A teacher looking at their student.
You turn away and leave the classroom.
Graduation was days away. You were running out of time. On of these men would be your future, but you had to decide which future you desired.
Niki Lauda was slumped in his desk chair staring at his desk. His lap felt so empty without you sitting in it. He couldn't focus on the papers on his desk as he thought of you.
Helmut Zemo leaned against the wall he had you pinned against. If you chose him he would be beyond happy. He would make a future with you far from here where he could love you completely.
Both men balled a hand into a fist.
The wouldn't allow the other man to win.
Time was running out for all three of you. Something had to be done.

Lies.
That's what Jaehyun hated the most in the world, lies.
He hated the way you'd smile at him during class, only to pretend he wasn't even there as soon as you exited the room. It wasn't fair. He wanted to confront you, wanted to ask for an explanation for your uninterested attitude, but anytime he'd try, words got stuck in his throat, choking him uncomfortably.
Jaehyun wasn't sure when his interest in you began growing. He was never one to have secret crushes, so then, why you? What made you special enough for him to like you?
The answer came one lucky day when the professor paired you up together for a project. While people usually whined when being put in the same team with someone other than their friends, you seemed all but annoyed, smiling with your white, pearly teeth and waving at him as if he were your very best friend.
“Guess you’re stuck with me.” It was his first time speaking to you, beads of sweat collecting on his upper lip. “Jaehyun, right?”
He hated small talk almost as much as lies. Almost. But when it came to you, he could do it all day long if it meant listening to your delightful voice. All of his pent-up frustrations scattered as you started planning your schedule to work on the project. He’d only hum in approval, still too shy to speak to you.
“So tomorrow's okay with you?” Your head was tilted to the side, the tender skin of your neck looking awfully tempting. He pictured himself kissing it, having you struggle under his weight while he kissed it for hours on end. “Jae?” He was pulled out of the scenario his mind was working through by a gentle hand on his wrist.
There were no mirrors nearby, but the tips of his ears were surely tinted red by now. But most importantly, his pants were becoming uncomfortably tight in his crotch area. A touch from you was all his body needed to go insane.
“Sure.” You smiled, removing your hand from its previous spot. His skin itched for more contact, but he was too shy to initiate anything. “I need to go to the restroom.”
He rushed out of the classroom with his hands in the pockets of his jeans, pushing the fabric forward to conceal his growing boner. He relieved himself inside the small cubicle, his own heavy breathing muffled under the sound of a couple doing less than appropriate things inside the following stall. Would that be you and him one day? Probably, but not quite yet.
Your kindness had no limits. That's what Jaehyun thought when you sat down to have lunch with him, the guy who no one ever liked enough to hang out with.
“Why?” He asked on the second occasion you sit with him.
“Because I like you.”
You started hanging out more often not long after that. Even after you handed in your work, you were keen on staying by his side, and he had nothing to complain about. It was as if the universe was finally smiling at him, all the times you'd ignored him after class now long forgotten. He was happier, brighter than usual. He told his roommate, the closest friend he had, about you. He was happy for Jaehyun, of course, but a feeling in his gut told him something was off.
The night before your spring break started, you invited him to a frat party. He’d never been to one, he didn't like them. But you were so insisting that he had no other choice but to oblige. The entire house smelled like sweat, alcohol, and drugs, disgusting, he thought. However, it was all worth it when he finally got to see you, tucked inside a tight dress that showed the figure you'd so thoroughly hide in baggy shirts. He approached you, wanting to greet you, but one of your friends dragged you away. He didn't mind it, the night was still young and he'd have plenty of time to be with you.
Not even five minutes later, you reappeared by his side, giving him one of your signature eye smiles.
“Having fun, pretty boy?” A light blush crept up his face, settling at the tip of his ears. “Let’s dance.”
His hands were firmly gripping your hips as you rubbed your body on his, causing a more than an obvious problem in his pants. Before his brain could register the current events happening, your lips were on his. It all felt too sudden, yet, he enjoyed the way you'd nip at his lower lip. It sent him to frenzy.
“I’m so wet, Jae.” You mumbled seductively against his fleshy pillows. “Want you to make me feel good.”
You dragged him to the closest room, increasing under his adoring gaze. You were so beautiful, and all his. The promise of your union was sealed that night, as you fell asleep between his arms after three intense rounds of pure bliss.
“Jaehyun?” He felt someone shaking his shoulder, it was a male voice. His arms instinctively closed tighter around your naked body to hide it from whoever was calling him, only to realize it wasn't you who was between them, but a mere pillow. “Dude, get up.” It was his roommate Johnny, picking him up after he got a call from one of the frat members. “You got so wasted yesterday, let's go, I'll take you for food.”
Wasted? He hadn't drunk anything the previous night. Nonetheless, he left the house after dressing up. He tried calling you as they waited for their waffles to no avail.
“Jaehyun, I saw your pills today in the trash bin. Have you stopped taking them?” Johnny seemed truly concerned.
“I’m better now, John. For real.” The sincerity in his words put his roommate’s heart at ease. “I found someone, I like her a lot and it seems like she does as well.”
“Dude, that's awesome. We should hang out soon, I'll invite my girlfriend.” A double date, it felt like you and Jaehyun were finally official. But the question remained, why had you left the house early in the morning?
“Sure.”
Because you wouldn't pick up any of his calls, he had to wait until Monday to confront you. During breakfast, Johnny had crushed some of his pills and sneaked them into his eggs, you can never be too safe, he thought. And, oh boy was he right.
You were picking up your belongings from your locker, getting ready to go back home during the break.
“Hey.” He leaned against the closest wall, flashing you a dimpled smile.
“Oh, hey...Jay, right?” Was that a joke?
“Sure, whatever you want. So, my roommate wants to meet you, just let me know whenever you have time and I'll tell him. By the way...” He leaned in, lips brushing against the shell of your ears. Some curious eyes were looking at you, eager to know what was happening. “I really enjoyed that night, but it would've been better if I'd woken up with you between my arms.”
“Excuse me?” You backed away abruptly, escaping his proximity. “I think you're taking me for someone else.”
“What do you mean?”
Realization hit him like a truck. You were ignoring him yet again, but he wasn't gonna take it this time. He hated lies.
“Come with me.” He gripped your forearm, easily dragging you all the way to the janitor's closet. “You don't get to play dumb with me anymore. Stop fucking lying.” You looked like a scared little mouse about to be eaten by a cat.
“I-I’m sorry, but I'm not lying, the only time I've spoken to you was when we worked together. We haven't been in touch ever since.” Even in a situation like this, you still pretended to be kind.
“Lies.” His hands closed against your neck, slightly choking you. “I don't like them, so you better be good and tell me the truth before I do something we'll both regret.” Your eyes welled with tears as you begged for your life, his grip getting tighter with every second. “Come on, angel.”
“I’m sorry, I'm a liar!” Your air supply was running short and your only option was to say what he wanted to hear, even if it was just a lie. “Please!”
“That’s a good doll.” He let go of your bruised neck, letting you fall on your knees as you coughed. “Now, you better stop lying for your own good, are we clear?”
“Yes!” You choked out, unsure of what was happening at the moment.
“I’ll call you later, have your phone by your side.”
You had walked into a trap without even knowing it.

bets off // fred weasley
masterlist!
a/n: i used the same pronouns from the last request, hope you don’t mind!! i apreciate u sm ur always so active w my fics ily <3333 this is the first thing i’ve written in a while that i’m actually proud of so i hope u guys like it :D
summary: Fred makes a bet with George that entails fake dating you for at least a month. He never expected to fall in love with you.
(5k)
-----------
Competition was healthy. At least, that’s what Fred told himself as he looked at George’s outstretched hand, a cocky smile etching the boy’s lips.
“Two weeks?” Fred asked, looking suspiciously at George.
“Two. Weeks.” George answered definitively, smirking at his brother.
Fred considered this in his head. Two weeks to get you, someone who had never previously shown any romantic interest in him, to date him for at least a month. He doubted it would be hard, for he had never had any trouble getting girls to swoon for him in the past. A few winks and charming sentiments and you would be putty in his hand. With this air of confidence, he shook George’s hand.
“You idiot!” Lee, who had previously been silently watching the exchange, called from across the table, a baffled smile on his face.
George laughed, leaning back in his chair and looking at Fred like he agreed with Lee.
“What?” Fred asked, the overly confident look still littering his features.
“You can’t win with this one,” Lee explained, shaking his head, “you either piss off Ron when this goes right, you piss of Ron when this goes wrong, you come out the git for breaking a girls heart, or you come out the embarrassed git who was rejected by your kid brother’s best friend.”
“Hey,” Fred said, faking offence, “I never agreed to ask out Harry.”
George and Lee rolled their eyes, hiding smiles as they continued their homework.
Fred was not deterred by Lee’s warnings, for he had a plan to avoid all of that. He was simply going to tell you the truth.
He found you on your way to the green house, pulling you away from a Slytherin girl you were walking with.
“He just stared at her? Like he didn’t eve-” you felt an unexpected tugging, “Ah!”
You squealed, feeling your feet stumble under you for a moment as you gathered your wits again. You looked down at the hand pulling you, following it up to the face. It was Fred, which was odd, because you two were not known for pulling at each other in hallways.
“You’re going to miss Herbology!” your friend called out to you, a worried expression on her face.
“I’ll meet you there, save me a seat!” you called back to her, turning away and following Fred as he still dragged you.
“Fred? What are you doing?” you asked him, making no effort to move from his strong grip.
“Got to talk to you,” he said airily, barely looking back at you as he pulled you down an empty corridor.
He let go of your arm, smiling down at you as you waited for him to speak. He didn’t take the hint, just looking at you.
“What did you want?” you glanced at your watch, seeing you only had a few minutes before Professor Sprout would start class.
“I have a proposition for you,” Fred drawled, a mischievous glint in his eyes as per usual, “what do ya say?”
You squinted your eyes at him, frowning, “I have to hear the proposition first.”
“Do you?”
“Yes, thats how propositions work.”
“I hadn’t realized,” he replied sarcastically, dropping his cool demeanor and letting some desperation seep into his voice.
“What do you want?” you repeated, slightly more annoyed.
“I may have made a bet that heavily relies on your willingness to do me a huge favor,” he said, a hopeful smile coming to his face.
“Oh god, Fred, what did you do?”
“George may have implied that I was in a dry spell when it came to girls,” he said, smirking, “and obviously that’s just not true. So, he suggested a bet to see if I still had my skills-”
“Your skills?”
“-yes my skills, would you listen?”
Fred leaned closer to you, his eyebrows raising as you rolled your eyes.
“Back to what I was saying,” he drew in a breath, dragging out this entire conversation, “George suggested a bet to see if I could still charm the ladies,” he wiggled his eyebrows and you quirked one of yours.
“Long story short-”
You interrupted again, “That was the short version of that story? Fred can’t we do this later, I’ve got class in,” you glanced at your watch. “two minutes.”
“No! Give me a second,” he ran a hand through his hair, putting his strong hands on your shoulders to keep you in place, “I made a bet with George that I could get you to fall in love with me in two weeks and date you for a month!”
You looked up at the boy, thinking he had gone off the end. He had to, either that or he was messing with you. Or maybe he had been slipped a potion of some sort.
“Fred,” you started, your kind tone giving Fred the impression you would agree to the plan, “you just waisted the very limited break I have between classes, successfully pulling me away from a very entertaining story about Snape, and probably making me late for Herbology.”
Fred groaned, throwing his head back in annoyance.
“I’m serious!”
You pulled against Fred’s grip, but he kept you in place. His face lit up, obviously coming up with what he thought would be a great plan. He released you briefly, digging his hands in his bag and moving crumpled papers around. He pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper, brandishing it like it was a diamond.
“This, my love, is going to get you out of Herbology this class period,” he said, unfolding the paper.
He revealed a blank piece of paper with tiny sparkles floating on the page. As he held it for a second longer, words began to form on the paper, writing something.
‘Professor Sprout,
Please excuse Y/n from Herbology this period, she came to me with a pain in her stomach and I gave her a potion to fix it. She stayed in the infirmary during the period.
-Poppy’
You had heard about these before, enchanted notes that were written in authentic handwriting and enchanted the reader to believe it, no matter what they said. Perfect for forging notes from teachers.
You stared at the paper in awe, grabbing it from Fred’s loose grasp.
“Yeah, you’re welcome. That’s the last one I have,” he said, feeling a bit remorseful having to give it up. He had been planning to use it to get out of Ancient Runes tomorrow.
You folded the paper again, putting it neatly in your bag and looking back at Fred.
“Alright, let’s go,” you sighed, allowing him to lead you to the great hall, through the courtyard, and out to the Quidditch Pitch where no teachers would be.
You sat in the stands, overlooking the empty and wet field,
“You want me to date you for two weeks?” you asked, sounding reluctant.
“No,” Fred said, sounding annoyed, “I want to fake date you for a month, but we won’t start until two weeks from now.”
You squinted, looking out at the stands on the other side of the field. You were thinking about this, finding the cons to outweigh the pros.
“What’s in it for me?” you paused, hearing Fred’s groan from beside you, “I mean, this could ruin my friendship with Ron, I get the embarrassing reputation when you fake dump me in a month, I don’t see how this is benefiting me.”
“Ron won’t care, I promise you,” Fred said acting as if this was obvious, “he lets Harry ogle Ginny all the time. And as for our fake dumping, that can be totally on your terms. I just need to win the bet with George.”
“What do you get if you win?”
Fred had hoped you weren’t going to ask that, but he was realizing you were smarter than he thought.
“Three Galleons,” he lied, looking at your skeptical face in the corner of his eye, “fine, six Galleons.”
You looked expectantly at him, waiting for his offer.
“I’ll split it with you,” he finally gave in.
He was a little upset at having to share his future winnings, but once you agreed to the bet and squealed excitedly at the possibility of some Galleons, a smile spread on his face.
Fred began laying the groundwork the next day. He made sure to send you flirtatious smiles when George was looking, waving to you in the halls, and talking to you in the common room.
You, Hermione, and Ron sat at a table in the corner, the three of you poured over a chess match. Ron was successfully beating Hermione, watching her as she tried to remember the rules he had taught her over and over.
“You can’t do that,” he said impatiently as Hermione tried to move a pawn backwards. His hand reached out and returned the piece back to where it was, and Hermione groaned.
You leaned back in your chair, closing your eyes and turning your head up towards the ceiling.
“Hello,” Fred purred from above you, looking down at you.
You snapped your eyes open, not entirely used to Fred’s flirting yet. It took you by surprise most days, and he always managed to get you when you weren’t expecting it. You looked to Ron, gauging his reaction. His eyes stayed locked on Hermione’s frustrated face, arms crossed as he waited for her move.
“Hello,” you replied, turning your head to face Fred as he move to your side.
He leaned against your chair, his hand supporting his weight as he wrapped it around the back of your chair. The top of his hip bumped into your shoulder, and you resisted the urge to lean away from him. It’s not that Fred Weasley was disgusting or anything, he certainly wasn’t, but he had a reputation. Fred wasn’t known to be faithful or respectful of the usual rules regarding relationships. He wasn’t tied down, and half the student body has seen him naked (or wanted to). You had gone through your phase of liking Fred, and that phase lasted longer than you’d like to admit. You refused to boost his ego, though, and felt determined to not let this fake dating get to your head.
Ron was still busy with his chess match, now watching Hermione’s focused gaze turn into a nervous one as she became aware of Ron’s eyes on her. She bit her lip, tapping her fingers on the table.
Fred glanced down at you, quirking an eyebrow and nodding his head towards Ron. He was showing you that Ron wouldn’t care if you two dated, testing Ron’s limits.
Fred’s hand moved slowly from the back of your chair to your shoulder. His slender fingers pressed gently on your clothed arm, moving to brush a piece of hair from your neck. He twirled a piece of your hair in his fingers, raising an amused eyebrow at Ron’s lack of reaction.
“Merlin, Hermione! I’ve taught you 100 times!”
Hermione scoffed, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms.
“Ron!” she exclaimed back, offended.
“Look,” he moved his hand to one of her pieces. He whisked it across the board, then one of his pieces, and then one of Hermione’s, and then one of his own, “Check.”
“Maybe if you had patience and didn’t stare me down every time it was my turn-” Hermione started, glancing to you for support.
Her eyes widened when she saw the somewhat intimate position you were in with Fred, her sentence dropping.
“If you didn’t take so long, I wouldn’t stare you down!” Ron huffed and pushed his chair back, standing suddenly.
He hadn’t even glanced at you and Fred, missing Hermione’s shocked expression.
“What are you doing?” she questioned Fred, sounding even more offended than when Ron was yelling at her a moment ago.
“What?” Fred replied nonchalantly, pushing his body away from yours and taking Ron’s seat.
He moved the chair closer to the table, purposefully brushing his knee against yours. You knew he was watching your face, so you kept a neutral expression.
“He was all over you,” Hermione whispered to you, as if Fred wasn’t right in front of her,
“So?” you asked, acting as if it wasn’t abnormal for Fred to ‘be all over you’.
You were internally cringing at the whole thing, at Fred’s forwardness, lying to Hermione, the whole situation.
“Something must be in the air today,” Hermione said to no one in particular as she stood from the table, “everyone’s lost their minds.”
She left you and Fred, leaving him with a smirk on his face.
“I think that went well,” Fred said, moving the pieces on the chess board around swiftly as he set it up for a new game.
You moved to Hermione’s seat so you were across from him, rolling your eyes.
“This is ridiculous, Fred,” you said, and at the sound of your genuine annoyance his eyes were on your face.
The board in front of you was set anew, white closest to you. You let yourself sit in your frustration for a moment, looking down at the board and moving a pawn. Fred made no move to his own pieces, just staring at you from his side of the table.
“What d’you mean?” he said, watching your hand retreat from the board.
“These public displays of affection- isn’t it a little ridiculous?” you said, locking your eyes on the game in front of you.
A look of hurt flashed across Fred’s face, not that you would have seen it, and he cleared his throat awkwardly. His hand lazily moved one of his pawns.
“I don’t think so, no,” he said, leaning back in his chair and still studying your face, “I think they’re quite effective.”
“They’re only effective because I’m playing along,” you moved another pawn, hoping Fred would take the bait so you could steal his pawn.
“Which I appreciate fully,” he said, leaning forward and moving his pawn exactly where you wanted him to.
You stole his piece, advancing on the board. He hadn’t even registered the game, frankly, only looking at you.
“I feel like-” you didn’t know what you felt. You hadn’t put it into words, but you knew you didn’t like it.
Fred, and older, charming, handsome boy, was showing you a new amount of attention. Fred, a boy you had a crush on almost the entire time you’ve known him, was sending you flirtatious winks in the hallways and being very affectionate. Fred, your best friend’s older brother, was trying to date you to win a bet.
“-nevermind,” you finished, realizing you could not say any of this aloud.
Fred had a quizzical look on his face, watching you as you silently sat across from him. You met his eyes for the first time since he sat down, swallowing hard. You stared at each other for at least a minute, neither of you moving or breaking the contact. His eyes had an intensity in them that you had never seen before, but they were also gentle and kind. He looked soft, his face illuminated by the faint candle light and fireplace, casting a yellow hue over his skin. His hair was grown out and pushed off his forehead, falling easily on the sides of his face. He had taken his tie off, though still in his school uniform, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. His mouth, usually in a resting smirk, was thin and straight, making him look rarely serious.
You felt like it took ages, but you finally broke his stare and cast your eyes downward at the board. You looked back up at him, seeing his eyes unmoving from your face.
“Your move,” you said, raising an eyebrow.
Fred’s eyes shot to the board, and he moved the first piece he saw. His mind was racing as he tried to collect his thoughts, all of which were about you.
He had no idea what happened, but his heart was beating incredibly fast and his hands were sweating. Fred, a man who had never once done anything serious, was feeling very serious. He didn’t know what was going on inside his head, but all he knew was that he thought you were remarkably beautiful. You were perfect, really, and he could not wait for this game of chess to end so he could get the hell away from you.
Fred had never been in any sort of serious relationship. He had never dated a girl for longer than a few weeks, usually doing something that offended them (that was often mentioning how hot another girl was, or, in the worst case, snogging said other girl). He didn’t care for anything long-term, anything serious, because he couldn’t be bothered to find anyone that interesting. You, however, made his hands sweat. No one had ever made Fred’s hands sweat. No one had ever made Fred’s mind run blank.
He blinked at the board, realizing it was his turn again, and felt like giggling like a school girl. He shot his head up, looking around the common room and pretending to be in a hurry.
“Have you got the time?” he asked, watching as you looked down at your wrist- eyes flickering to your hand, which he realized he wanted nothing more than to hold in that moment- checking the time on your watch and telling him. He sprang from his chair, “I told George I’d meet him in a few, can we continue this later?”
He hadn’t even waited for an answer before he was running through the portrait hole, nearly knocking a few first years off their feet when he bumped into them.
Fred disappeared from the common room, leaving you with the chess board.
For the next few days, Fred’s flirting was non-existent. He wasn’t ignoring you, but the entire dynamic between you had shifted; something changed. He wasn’t painfully arrogant, seeming to take more effort in the way he treated you. There was no inappropriate flirting, no lustful winks. You wondered if the bet was still on.
You found out soon that it was.
You and Hermione left the library fairly late into the afternoon, but neither of you minded the time that got away from you. You spent the day doing very little actual studying, talking and laughing instead. There was a very few amount of people who could tear Hermione away from her studies, and she didn’t often like to admit that you were one of them.
“Are you going to tell me why Fred was so-” she broke off, shuddering in some sort of disgusted way that made you laugh “-touchy with you the other day?”
Hermione had been pressing a little bit every time she saw you about Fred, and you had been avoiding it every time.
“I still don’t know what you’re talking about. That was just Fred being Fred,” you insisted, rolling your eyes playfully.
The guilt of lying to your friends left you a few days ago, instead you only felt overwhelming uneasiness as your schoolgirl crush for Fred resurfaced. You couldn’t help it; the hot older boy you had liked since your first year was suddenly putting himself in compromising situations with you. So, you couldn’t tell Hermione about Fred’ bet, because then you wouldn’t be able to stop yourself telling her about your genuine crush.
“Really?” Hermione teased, bumping her shoulder into yours.
“Yes, really,” you insisted, turning the corner to the main staircase that was crowded with students wandering the castle on the weekend afternoon, “ I don’t get why your fixating on this, ‘Mione.”
Your words, however, fell on deaf ears. Her gaze was locked on something on the stairs beneath you both. You followed it, seeing the heavy stream of students starting to part. From your position, you couldn’t see much through the crowd, but soon the crowd thinned around you and you got closer.
Fred stood on the landing, a huge bouquet of flowers in his hands. You bit your lip, trying to hide the laugh bubbling in your chest. Such a grand gesture for a fake one-month relationship, this boy was determined to beat George and win those three Galleons. You felt Hermione clutching loosely to your arm, a dazed sort of look overcoming her features. You couldn’t help but laugh at this, prying yourself free from her grip and walking down the stairs to meet Fred.
He also looked sort of dazed, and with a quizzical expression you felt your face heat up under the stares of everyone in the stairwell. You came to the landing, looking up at Fred. His hand shook a little as he held the flowers, and he bit his lip harshly.
“Want to go out with me?” he asked, a surprisingly earnest voice replacing his usual smug one.
You glanced at your watch, moving to stand on your toes to reach him. You moved your mouth to his ear, speaking so only he could hear you, “You’re about a week early with this gesture, Freddie.”
He chuckled, and from being so close to him his chest bumped yours slightly. You fell to stand flat on your feet, still close to him. He looked down at you, holding the flowers between your chests.
“I don’t like following schedules,” he said, grinning down at you.
You resisted the urge to wrap your arms around his shoulders and never let go, settling instead on a bashful smile. He handed you the flowers, the brown paper they were wrapped in feeling a little damp from how profusely his hands were nervously sweating.
When he made this bet with George, he had just planned on kissing you in some busy hallway to announce the start of your relationship, as he did with most of his relationships. Somehow, though, you felt more special. His stomach sank every time he thought about the limited and fake month he’d have to with you, but he forced his way through it.
So he went to the field by Hagrid’s hut and picked the best flowers he could find, wrapping them in a brown paper and organizing them so they were perfect, because you were perfect.
He looked down at you, watching you as you held the flowers up to your face and smelled them. Your eyes were light and filled with innocent excitement, giving him an enchanting smile that showed all your teeth; you looked incredibly and undeniably happy, and that made Fred happy.
You had both nearly forgotten about the entire student body surrounding you both, watching the exchange. Fred, feeling unnerved by the vulnerability he had exhibited in such a large crowd, looked up and smiled smugly, wiggling his eyebrows. The entire staircase erupted in a somewhat jumbled mix of cheers and laughter, sending a deep red blush to your cheeks. Fred looked down at you, and in a moment of unfiltered happiness, brought his hands to your cheeks. He lifted your head from where you had ducked it to hide the blush, forcing you to look up at him with the embarrassed grin on your lips. Before he could think about what he was doing, his face was leaning closer to yours and his hands on your cheeks were pulling you closer to him. You barely had the time to register what was happening, only hearing the laughter and cheers around you get louder as Fred’s face was pressed against yours.
He was fast at first, passionate and quick as if he thought he only had a second before you pulled away. You couldn’t though, even though every bone in your body was telling you to. Your lasting feelings for Fred were telling you that this kiss was okay, that your friendship with Ron would take the backseat for a while as you let Fred press himself against you. Your thoughts were fading, being replaced with the hyper awareness of everywhere Fred was touching you. His lips slowed and his breathing became slower too. He let out a sigh through his nose, the air hitting your face and sending a brand new flush to your cheeks. His hands on your cheeks stopped pulling you towards him, now being a gentle and soft presence on your skin. His left hand was grazing your jaw, his calloused fingertips tickling the skin lightly. His right hand cupped your cheek firmly still, but his thumb rubbed against your cheekbone. You held the flowers in one hand, and it wasn’t until a few seconds into the kiss that you had even remembered you had hands. You rested your hand holding the flowers against his chest, tilting the bouquet so it didn’t hit Fred in the face. Your other hand snaked up his arm, clutching loosely at his strong forearm as it hung between your bodies.
You were both at each other’s wills, you would do anything Fred and Fred vowed to himself that he would follow you to the ends of the Earth, if you asked him to.
The spark moving through Fred’s body was nothing he had ever felt before. He didn’t feel it when he kissed Angelina Johnson, his first kiss, after winning a Quidditch match. He didn’t feel it when he drunkenly kissed Alicia Spinnet at a party. He didn’t feel anything close to this when he kissed Katie Bell in a game of truth or dare last year. You were completely new to Fred, and part of him already knew he wanted to spend every second with you from then on out.
You pulled away first, entirely and completely breathless. You looked up at Fred, mouth opening and closing like an out of water fish as you tried to find words to say in this moment. Fred just chuckled, bringing his hand on your cheek to graze his knuckles against your swollen lips. You closed your mouth, feeling okay with having nothing to say, and figuring it was better to not say anything anyways.
The crowd registered in your brain, making you feel extremely embarrassed again. You shoved your face into Fred’s chest, hiding the flush all over your face.
“Alright! Shows over, you perverts,” Fred called out, smiling widely at the group.
You heard the shuffling of feet begin around you, the traffic beginning once again. A few wolf whistles reached your ears, and you didn’t remove yourself from Fred’s chest until you were sure everyone had moved on.
Fred’s large hand rested on the back of your head, soothing down your hair. You found it oddly intimate, and you knew letting all of this happen was only setting yourself up for hurt when this bet was inevitably over, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
Pulling away finally, your flowers clutched at your side, you took a deep breath. You were bringing your gaze to look up at Fred, but a group of redheads standing behind him caught your eyes and made them widen.
“I am so telling mum you have a girlfriend!” Ginny squealed, her voice easily heard in the now empty stairwell.
Fred turned to face his family, seeing Ginny, Ron, George, Hermione, and Harry looking at him as if he’s sprouted five new limbs.
Ron elbowed Ginny, sending her a wide-eyed look, “my bestfriend is not his girlfriend!” Ron said confidently, then turning to Fred with a threatening look, “My bestfriend is not your girlfriend.”
Fred smiled nervously, “I’m not dating Harry, Ron,” he attempted to joke, only earning a laugh from George and an embarrassed look from Harry.
You peaked from behind Fred, meeting the group. You smiled at them sheepishly, meeting Hermione’s baffled eyes.
“I knew it!” she called, causing the entire group to turn their heads to look at her, “I knew you fancied her.”
Hermione looked quite proud of herself, but Ron looked fuming. Harry had sort of a ‘I-saw-this-coming’ look on his face.
“Guys,” you said, stepping towards them, “Ron.”
You gave Ron a pleading look, prepared to embarrass yourself and set the whole thing straight, even prepared to lose 3 Galleons. Suddenly, Hermione stepped between you and Ron.
“Ronald,” she said sternly, snapping Ron out from his angry mood briefly, “I hope you are not about to prevent a lovely relationship just because you have no emotional intelligence or maturity regarding these subjects.”
Your eyes widened from behind Hermione, casting a shocked glance to Fred. George and Ginny stifled their laughter, saving an embarrassed Ron some of his pride after being scolded by Hermione.
“But he’s my brother!” he whined, his anger leaving him and instead being replaced by some sort of tame disgust.
You couldn’t take it, every part of you wanted to tell them it was a bet, the galleons be damned. You looked to Fred with a warning look, only to see him digging in his pockets.
“George,” he called out, removing his hand from his pocket and clutching something, “catch.”
Fred tossed six coins at George, and George caught them with surprise.
“Bets off,” Fred said, looking painfully serious.
You felt your breath hitch in your throat, an immense feeling of guilt wash over you. You had cost Fred six galleons, even after the work he had put in. He had kissed you for the sake of it, and you couldn’t go one month.
“Fred,” you stuttered, looking at him with guilt
His mouth broke into a grin, however, and he took a few steps towards you. George watched Fred’s movements, and began pulling away the group. Ron, still standing there with a confused look on his face, was tugged away by the back of his collar.
“I don’t want to fake date you,” he whispered to you once he was close enough, tucking his hands in his pockets.
“Well, that seems like a lot of work for nothing, then-” you started, only for his lips to fall onto yours and silence you.
You couldn’t help it, again, as you let yourself melt into him. He pulled away all too soon however, resting his forehead on yours as he looked into your eyes.
“I want to date you for real,” he said, biting his lip nervously, “not as a bet.”
Your eyes widened, and once again you could not think of anything to say. You opened and closed your mouth, searching for the words, but gave up. You gave a relieved sigh, hearing the words you had dreamed of hearing since you were 12, and kissed Fred Weasley.

Anti-Romantic, Part 1
(credit to the original owner of the image)
Character | Jaehyun x reader Genre | nonidol!au, Mutual Pining, Slowburn, Fluff WordCount | 3.6 K Author'sNote | lmaoooo the fact that I intended this to be a oneshot type of thing oops. Wellllll, I tried. Most likely to be a two part series, but we'll see.
This is part of a series I intend to call "If Songs were Fics" and this particular one was loosely inspired by TXT's Anti-Romantic bc I'm obsessed. I hope you enjoy reading as much I enjoyed writing it!
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
I don't know who loves me
And I don't care, It's a waste anyways
A romantic feeling, Kinda scares me
“Any plans for you birthday next week?”
Jaehyun shakes his head at you, “no, not yet, don’t you have that date with that barista?”
“I’m not sure, he’s been acting weird over text lately. Might not be worth it,” you shrug your shoulders. “Besides, it’s your birthday! You only get one of those a year, we should plan something.”
You were on your way to the gym, a ritual you and Jaehyun had ever since you both found out you worked for the same company. You had been childhood friends, but ended up losing touch since you went to separate universities.
It was a nice surprise to see a friendly face on the first day of orientation and throughout the duration of your training for the next six weeks. Although you were both from different departments, you enjoyed taking your lunch breaks together and sharing small gossip about your old class-mates.
“ugh, don’t remind me,” he let’s out a long sigh, “every year, it seems like my family won’t stop pestering me about starting a family.”
“What’s so wrong about that?”
“Nothing, just not for me. Or at least not yet. I don’t think I’m the type to settle down,” he shrugs again as if it were no big deal.
You gasp, “how could you say that? I’ve seen your insta account. It’s got your cousin’s kids all over it!” You stop to take a good look at him as he holds the door of the gym open for you. “Back in school too, you used to tutor those elementary kids for volunteering hours. Even when you didn’t need them. You’ve always liked kids.”
“That’s different…”
“Right. Totally different things. Got it,” you roll your eyes. This wasn’t the first time he mentioned not wanting to settle down. At first, you had thought it was because he liked ‘keeping his options open’ like back in high-school. Or, not that you knew for sure, but if the rumors were true then it meant he slept his way around. Apparently, he never slept with someone twice and despite the cold shoulder the other party would get, all you had ever heard were praises. Not that you paid that much attention or anything.
You and Jaehyun had the same circle of friends, but despite that, he had never made any advances towards you. You’d be lying if that didn’t bother you at least once or twice. You just assumed that he didn’t want to make the friendship awkward or mess with the friend dynamics of your group. Which was why your crush on him in junior high ended as soon as you got to high-school.
You ended up going on dates with other people, but nothing that kept your interest. Nothing that compared to how you felt around him. Not that he seemed to think the same, so you tried your best to stay the good friend you always have been. You didn’t want to push something he clearly didn’t want; not that it didn’t hurt any less. Throughout the years it’s become bearable, at least. Almost like a painful habit.
You check in and head to the locker rooms to change. His nonchalance about the subject had always puzzled you. You’d seen first hand how all the female coworkers seemed to sway their hips as they walked by him, how some would pop a blouse button more than usual when around him, and you swore no one else was getting that much help throughout training more than him. He was handsome and a gentleman, that much was painfully obvious.
You meet him outside by the water fountain, “ready for warm-up?” he guides your way to the treadmills.
“When’s the last time you dated?”
You would have laughed if you weren’t so shocked to see him trip from the corner of your eye. “why the sudden curiosity?” He finally responds.
“Not sudden, I’d always wondered.” You defended. “You’re good looking and you’re very…I mean, you live on your own and have your own car. You have good relations with your family AND you’re good with kids. So, what is it?” You hadn’t realized how troubling you thought it all was. But now that you started digging you couldn’t stop.
“I just—” you pause, “it doesn’t make sense.”
You hear him chuckle, “you might wanna slow down before you pull something.” You look down and realize that your pace had gone from a relaxed jog to a borderline run during your rant. Maybe this wasn’t the best time to psychoanalyze your only friend in the city.
“Well, I just don’t know how to let people in. It’s just that.” He finally responds. “I love kids, but I don’t know or think I’d be a good partner.” He slows down before stopping, ending the conversation. He waves you off with an easy smile as you stay running.
Huh, maybe you pushed him too far. Your eyes can’t help but follow him around the gym.
Sweet and bitter chocolate, The taste at the end is always the same
Like the saddest movies, Only tears in my eyes
Your hands were sweaty the entire morning, anticipating your lunch time. It was his birthday today, and while you hadn’t made any concrete plans you ended up agreeing to go over to his place after work. Your gym bag was ready with snacks and comfy clothes to stay over. You remembered him saying he was excited to watch that new Marvel movie that had recently come out so you had bought it online to stream it at his place as a surprise. But what had you nervous was the small heart shaped box sitting in your purse. You didn’t know what possessed you to buy it but you had immediately thought of Jae when you passed by it at the mall. You remember vaguely mentioning that it was a special occasion to the sales lady (as in, his birthday), but she must have thought it was your significant other rather than friend because she changed the box to the red velvet shaped one while giving you a wink. In her defense, you could have protested but…why didn’t you?
You hear a knock on your door, “hey little miss sunshine.” Ah, Nakamoto, this couldn’t be good news. He was only sickly sweet to you when he needed a favor.
“What do you want?” you deadpan. He only laughs as he makes himself comfortable in your office. “Well, nothing in particular. Can’t stop by and see how you’re doing?” he feigns hurt.
“Right—the last time you ‘came by’ you left me working over-time through the weekend,” You sigh, “so what is it this time? Missed meeting? Late proposal?” To be fair, your supervisor WAS overworked sometimes. And since you were the only worker under him, it was normal for him to sometimes share some of the load with you.
He smiles at you, “nope. Just have a proposal for you. I know you’ve been working hard these past few months and I’ve been really impressed by your work ethic.” He stands and moves closer to your desk, “And I thought some sort of reward was in order, as well as celebration.” Ok, now you’re confused. You were ok with the reward part, it usually came in the form of a gift card to your favorite coffee shop, but celebration?
“Why would we celebrate? Did I miss something?”
“Not yet, but I did recommend you to the partner position with me. And I wanted to be the first to tell you that the boss approved it earlier today. So, what do ya say? Dinner on me?” he extends his hand out to you and wiggles his eyebrows playfully.
Oh.
Shit! You were hoping this would happen eventually, moving up from the entry-level position you had. But you had never thought it would be this fast. “Oh my gosh, are you serious?” You give him your hand and he shakes it in mock salute.
“Of course, some people will come by to move your computer to the office next to mine. You start Monday!” he winks, “So, wanna go to that new rooftop restaurant? This is a once in a life-time ticket, so you best say yes.”
But your dinner with Jae…He’ll understand, right? He has to. It’s not like he seemed that excited about it anyway. And you could always spend the day together tomorrow, too. It would be pretty rude to turn down Yuta after he pulled some strings for you…
You smile at him, “Thank you Mr. Nakamoto, I won’t let you down as a partner. Yeah, dinner sounds great. Wanna meet there?”
You sit down on the small table, now nervous for other reasons.
Jae sits opposite of you, a small smile on his face. “Hey you,” he greets.
“hey…” you start, “I hate to change plans so suddenly, but…” crap, you feel really shitty. But you really were between a rock and a hard place.
“everything ok?”
“yeah, no. I actually just got promoted,” you start.
“You did? That’s awesome! So fast, too. Wow—but shouldn’t you be more enthusiastic about it?” he chuckles.
“I am, just—my old supervisor wanted to go to dinner to celebrate. And I don’t think I could say no after helping me out like that.”
“I mean, did you want to skip it or?” Now he’s confused.
“Well, he wanted to go out tonight since I start Monday and today’s Friday…I don’t think I can come over tonight,” you explain.
Realization crosses his features before he gives a small smile. “Don’t worry about it, you’re fine. And he’s treating you! You don’t know when the next time he offers might be,” he continues, “we can celebrate another day anyway.”
“Are you sure?” now you feel like shit.
“Of course I’m sure.”
For the rest of the lunch, a thick silence settles before he excuses himself back to work.
Jaehyun knew this was coming. Nothing ever went his way; it’s why he kept everyone at a distance from his heart. But he was weak when it came to you. This game of push and pull was bound to keep happening, and it only brought him that all familiar foul taste in his mouth.
I know, that sweet love song, Those words of promise
When you turn around, It's just an unfamiliar someone
It was why he decided to go else-where for university, instead of joining you and some of your friends to the one closest to home. He chose to go across the globe—far, far away from the curse of you.
It had started on a windy day, back when you were 4 and new to the town he grew up in. Jaehyun didn’t want to leave his mother’s arms, he didn’t like the thought of being with strangers until later in the day even if his mom promised that she would be back. A little girl with jean overalls like his came up to him and his mom, “why are you crying?”
“I am not!” he sniffed. He didn’t need to make new friends like his mom was trying to tell him. All he needed was to go back home. You took out something from your pocket and showed it to him, “look, my mom said I could give one to my first friend. She said it was sharing. Want one?”
In her little palm, were two kiss chocolates. “You’re not my friend,” he grumbled, “I don’t know your name.” At that, you giggled, “I’m Y/N!” you took his hand and placed a chocolate there, “there, now we’re officially friends.”
“See, Jae? You can spend some time with Y/N and have fun. Before you know it, I’ll be back,” she promised.
“Yeah, Jae! Come play blocks with me, and then we can try the coloring.” You held his hand as you led him deeper into the classroom. Just like that, Jae began to feel a little warmth in his chest. He didn’t mind that his favorite thing to do was play tag outside or that he wasn’t really good at coloring inside lines yet. But that didn’t matter to him. As long as he had this one friend around, he was content.
Sorry I'm an anti-romantic, I want to run far away
My heart that already chases after you, Blazes up as a small flame
Looking back at it now, it was a little funny. All it took to let you in back then was a simple chocolate kiss and your little sticky hand in his leading the way. You were always larger than life to him, sometimes he forgot that you were just as human as him.
As you two continued to grow, nothing seemed to change your friendship. But he knew that the depth of his feelings wasn’t mutual. It was in the way that you brought a lot different people together and decided to call it your family. Another of your friends, Jungwoo, liked to joke that you collected introverts for fun. To Jaehyun, it was more likely that you just didn’t see the fun in leaving people out. You were charming and passionate. Traits he wished he had. Your empathetic nature and gentle disposition were all that Jaehyun needed, even if he wasn’t the only recipient.
Once you guys started to hit puberty, things started to feel rocky. Jaehyun couldn’t help but physically distance himself from you, his ears were always red-hot. You had always been pretty to Jaehyun, but you were starting to become really beautiful. And if the boy’s locker rooms’ talk were anything to go by, then other people were definitely starting to realize “what a great catch” you were.
It really pissed him off. Who were they to say things as if all you were was a piece of meat? It disgusted him. But what disgusted him more was the fact that sometimes, he couldn’t help but also feel the way your body felt in his when you hugged in greeting. He hated the way his body reacted to everything you did.
He first messed around with a senior girl back when he was a sophomore, Sooyoung. She was leaving and he couldn’t take it anymore. Your boyfriend was a piece of trash and he was tired of hearing the way he would share what Jae considered to be intimate moments that had no business being public. But you seemed so happy… that next game, Jae stole the ball from him and scored on his own. Even if it cost him a three hour lecture from the coach, he would do it again. Fuck being a team, that guy was an asshole.
What he hadn’t planned on was liking messing around. He would never admit it, but the reason he couldn’t commit was because he couldn’t get rid of that small grain of hope that glowed in his chest every time you stared at him longer than would be deemed normal. It wasn’t often, but he knew he wasn’t seeing things. So, he succumbed to the cycle of push-and-pull that you guys had going on.
Jaehyun wasn’t blind, he knew that your work definitely spoke of your professionalism, but he’s also seen the way Nakamoto stared after you. Of the way his hand would often touch your waist when walking together. Even now, as he hears you apologize through the phone again as you get ready for your “date” with him he can’t help this heart feel heavy with anger. Anger at himself, for letting you slip away once more. He usually hopes for nothing but the best for you, but this time, he wishes you had an awful dinner.
Sorry I'm an anti-romantic, I don't believe in romance
I'm afraid that after burning my whole heart, It will only leave behind ashes
Throughout the entire dinner, you can’t seem to get Jae out of your mind. It keeps you from enjoying the delicious food, keeps you from keeping your usual banter with Nakamoto.
You’re about to call it a night and thank Nakamoto for inviting you out when he beats you to it, “damn, I was hoping this might be a good break from the usual overtime we do, but something tells me your mind has been elsewhere,” he offers good naturedly, “I know it’s valentine’s, so maybe this is why we feel so awkward, right?”.
You grimace a bit at that, “ah—I’m sorry. I really am grateful for the way you look after me in the company and I’m also thankful for this lovely dinner,” you stop a bit, afraid you might offend him, “I agreed to come out tonight, so no need to feel awkward.” You offer a smile.
“Alright then. I guess you already have your sights on someone?” he prods. Should you be honest? There was no rule against dating outside your department, and you were pretty sure your new boss’s wife also worked within the company. “…I do. But I’m pretty sure they don’t feel the same way. It’s been so long since we’ve known each other. Surely if something were to have happened, it would have by now.” You were loosening up, definitely the wine’s fault.
Nakamoto sighs at that, “damn, and here I thought I could woo you after this,” he winks jokingly but you laugh him off. You knew he didn’t care for you that way. “I really hope you’re talking about the guy you always eat lunch with. I swear everyone thought you guys were married when you were released from training.”
“What?! No, I—we’ve been friends since we were children—”
“Aha! So it was him then,” he smirks. “Good.”
You groan, “Please, no.”
“What, it’s not him? You sure about that?”
“I will neither confirm nor deny that statement,” you groan. Why were you discussing your love life? You push the wine away and take a sip of your water.
“Hmm. That’s too bad. Could have sworn that guy was after you.” He stands up. “But fine, I’ll stop prodding.”
You sigh in relief—“for now.” You groan. “What do you even mean by that? You don’t even know him. Or me, or at least personally at least.”
“Mmm, I don’t have to. Some things you just know. Like how he wishes I was six feet under every time we run across him at work,” he sobers up at that. “He seemed like a cool dude, but his glare isn’t too friendly. I don’t know how you fell for that.”
You scoff, “just because someone has a resting bitch face doesn’t mean they’re a bad person.”
You both make your way to the underground parking. “You’re right, it just makes them unapproachable. Is that why you won’t confess?” His genuine tone rubs you the wrong way, you don’t need be given false hope.
“Stop it, you said you would drop it,” you frown, “Anyways, thank you for the food boss—”
“—not your boss anymore. Just call me Yuta, we’re partners now.”
“Aren’t you two years older than me?”
“And?”
You shrug at that, “well, thanks Yuta. For the food, not for the interrogation.” He chuckles at that, nodding while pulling out his car keys. “see you Monday!” he waves you off.
You sigh as you get home. It wasn’t as late as you thought it was, only a few minutes past nine. You really wanted to see him. Would he be busy?
You fish out your phone and dial his number before chickening out.
“Hello?”
“Jae! It’s me. Are you busy right now?” your heartbeat is pounding so loud, you’re scared he could hear it on the other end. “Right now?” you hear shuffling on the other end, “no, I was just reading that book Jungwoo sent me. Might have dozed off a bit into it but don’t tell him I said that,” he chuckles.
“Why, is everything ok? It’s still early, did you end dinner that fast?”
“Oh, Yuta and I called it a night pretty early. Too many couples were out and about and it got a bit awkward,” you explained.
“Yuta?”
“Ah, yes. Yuta Nakamoto, but now that we’re associates, he said it would be better to address him less formally.” You waive him off, “actually, I was wondering—if it’s not too late, can I still come over? If not, that’s cool. We can still hang out tomorrow, but your birthday is today and I thought—”
He laughs at your rambles, “of course you can come over, you know you don’t have to ask. How many times have I told you that?”
“Ok, ok. Just checking,” you still had your comfy change of clothes in your car, so you opt to save those for tomorrow and change into something causal for tonight.
“Do you want me to go get you? We can get ice cream on the way, hopefully they don’t close early.”
“Sounds like a plan then,” curse your heart for melting at everything he says.
“Alright, give me 15 and I’ll be there.” He hangs up.
You look at your bag, resting on your sofa and you sigh. The entire night, it’s almost as if you could feel the weight of his gift weighing it down. Yuta is known for being very observant, it’s why he was so good at his job. Closing deals and making contracts in advertisement. Would he be right about this? You know you desperately wish he was, but is it worth risking your best friend?

Wonwoo! Will you stay
Jeon Wonwoo! A short series pt one | two | three | four
Lub-dub lub-dub lub-dub! It was so close AHHH! That was a bold move! I can't believe he didn't throw me off!!
You're over the moon for the rest of the day. You have been under the weather for some days, and your parents are worried about it. Seeing you like this, they feel at ease.
You begin to anticipate tomorrow. Will your relationship with Wonwoo turn for the better? This is what makes school exciting!
However, Wonwoo feigns ignorance whenever you try to have a conversation with him. It goes on for another two days, and he still has nothing to say to you.
Not to mention, Somi and Umji also avoid talking about him during the break. They never answer your questions regarding Wonwoo, and it put you into a dispiriting mood again.
In the aftermath, you lose concentration during the computer class. In fact, your head is full of him. Your two best friends give you hints about Wonwoo's matter, but they're just superficial.
My mind is a mess.
After the class, you block Wonwoo's seatmate's path and begin questioning- more like interrogating.
"Tell me, is there any problem Wonwoo is having these days?"
Kihyun averts from your scrutiny. He refuses to talk.
"Come on, tell me," you persuade him into confessing. As a seatmate, he must know a tiny bit about Wonwoo. "I won't tell him that it's you who said to me. Sounds good?"
"He's not stupid,"
That's very true. Hmm...
"I will bear the responsibility. Just spill it," you convince him. This time, you're sure you'll get to the matter.
Kihyun sighs.
"A few third-year students have been picking up fights with him. I think Wonwoo was triggered by something they said. By the way, I remind you of a thing,"
"You shouldn't be near to him. You know that he's a scholarship boy, right? There's an unspoken rule here in Sejong High..."
That's your wake-up call. No wonder Wonwoo calls you 'stuck-up rich kid', and now you realize that you might've looked down on him, unintentionally.
He was right. I'm a stuck-up rich kid with no shame.
Although Kihyun tells you all that, you're still on the surface. What has possibly put him off at that time? You want to know more.
As you walk to the cafeteria, Somi and Umji are busy talking about the former's boyfriend.
"My boyfriend's birthday is coming but I don't know what to give him," Somi sounds helpless as she snakes her arms around yours and Umji's.
You don't put your focus on her, so you don't reply.
Umji thinks for a while before sharing her idea. "Your boyfriend is rich enough to buy everything so what if you bake him something? That'd be rather special- at least for me,"
They never stop afterwards. It amuses you that the two has yet to have their topics exhausted. They keep going on!
After getting the snack, the three of you is about to return to class but is stopped by the crowd. They run toward the field.
"The new kid is fighting with a senior!"
"Damn, he's got gut!"
Somi and Umji simultaneously peek at your expression. "Wonwoo? Hey Y/N! Oh my god, don't tell me-"
"Wait for us, Y/N!"
Half of the first-year students watch the fray. Some are cheering for the guy senior, and you panic.
Your imagination runs wild. As much as you hate seeing a fight erupts, you hope Wonwoo isn't the one receiving the senior's blow!
Your small frame slips easily through the throng, and the situation shocks you.
Umji manages to catch you while Somi's being pulled away by her boyfriend. "We better go now!" she gives you a quick pull but you're not moving an inch. She frantically observes the situation and heaves a sigh at the sight of the security.
"WHAT ALL OF YOU DOING HERE?" The security runs faster to the crowd and breaks off the fight. Wonwoo huffs and puffs; showing his dissatisfaction toward the guy he had punched.
The senior has a gang; they help him up. Wonwoo is the one left unattended since he's alone. You watch him from the side and is on the horns of a dilemma.
You know it's no good if you go help Wonwoo now with all the attention directed to him.
Out of the blue, one of the seniors speaks up. "Apologize to Juwon and we'll act nothing happened just now," It's obvious he's intended to embarrass Wonwoo in front of many students.
He smirks when his words hit the target. Mutterings are loud in the air as the audiences express their opinions.
"Wonwoo, don't apologize!" you yell. Your voice was loud enough for the circle to pay heed to you. You cower as a response and Umji slaps your arm.
The senior snickers and voices out again."Boy, you better give in to him. His father is a person you couldn't afford to offend,"
Juwon slouches against his friend and finally says something at his friends. "If he doesn't want to admit defeat, we can take this matter to the teachers. Let's see if this parasite can win against me," he sneers.
The involved parties are eventually called to the office. You insist to accompany Wonwoo and he has nothing to say about it.
"I'm on your side, Wonwoo! Don't be scared of them. If anything happens, I'll protect you!" your fingers clench and you look up to Wonwoo who's quiet since the row had ended. Little did you know, he takes a quick glance right after you turn your head.
'Just what this meek creature can do...'
-
The time in the office feels tedious. Wonwoo hates the rich kids that are only good at blabbering and settle everything with their parent's standings.
"I won't call my parents just for this trivial matter but I have one condition,"
The teachers think the senior makes a great deal with Wonwoo, and since they don't want to be visited by the superior parents they push him to seize the offer.
You and Wonwoo leave the place as soon as they agreed with the deal. Wonwoo remains silent.
"They're so childish! That's more like punishment," you huff with your arms crossed. You can't believe the senior wants Wonwoo to be the ball boy for the basketball club.
"Why do you like to intervene?"
"Huh?" you stutter. This is the first time you get to hear his voice today.
"To be honest, I don't know,' you shrug. Your body and mind seem to be unallied when it comes to him. Even the latter warns you to not get entangled with other's business, the former just ignores and go with it.
"By the way, don't you think the senior is more stuck-up than me?" You ask excitedly as you lean to him and wait for his response. You want to change the impression he has about you.
Wonwoo takes in the view in front of him as he faces your question. Surprisingly, he feels less irritated by it.
He slows down his walking pace as he takes notice of yours. Wonwoo holds his hands at his back and fakes a thought.
After enjoying the hopefulness in your eyes, he gives the answer. "It seems like it," he says.
Due to the revelation from Wonwoo himself, you cover your mouth in excitement. Wonwoo watches as you turn tomato from his word and walks ahead.
In a hurry, you ask. "So you'll naturally sign up with the basketball club?" He raises his shoulder slightly and then nods.
Your heart soars louder and unintentionally, it echoes across the hallway. "Got it! I'm coming too!"
Since then, your life has revolved around Wonwoo. Occasionally, he would ask for personal spaces, and even though his changes are almost negligible, you don't mind.
Being around him the whole day is fun. You get to know his habits, his favourite food and drink, or basically all about him. Not, you do seem like an ordinary girl chasing after a guy.
Wonwoo, on the other hand, feels like he has a friend. He ghosts you daily, but your presence fills a spot next to him.
The two of you get accepted into the basketball club. Every Tuesday, Wonwoo will stay at school for two hours to be the ball boy. Not that everyone tries to be silent about it, but there's this girl who keeps waiting for the guy.
She's pretty, and her hair compliments her exquisite, doll-like features.
She never pays attention to other guys as if her eyes are glued to the ball boy. The green-eyed seniors want to embarrass Wonwoo even more because of that.
"Hey ball boy, the bottles are empty. Refill them!" the senior who took Wonwo's punches shouts. You quickly get up and help Wonwoo. "Let me help!"
Wonwoo lets you take 2 bottles as he carries the other 6. "Go home after we go back,"
"Why? I want to stay with you,"
Wonwoo has no idea whether you intended to flirt with him or casually announced that, but surely, he is flustered.
He regains composure and gives a response.
"What a dimwit," the seniors are gawking at you, and you overlook that?
He wishes he could deliver that very sentence, but he may sound jealous. Well, I'm not.
"I'm here to protect you, didn't I say that before? So, stop pushing me away cuz I won't leave you."
You don't realize that your attendance by Wonwoo's side just creates another problem for him. His workload increases by tenfold due to the green-eyed seniors.
Once the game is over, Wonwoo fulfils his duty and cleans the court. In the meantime, you listen to songs on the bench.
Wonwoo has done a lot of work and this is one nothing to him. He finishes just when everyone exits the place. He thinks that you might have returned home. You aren't there when he checks out the place you've been sitting at.
Only when he walks out the hall that he accidentally eavesdrops on the conversation between you and the seniors.
He could guess the topic and he looks at the corner. If he steps just a bit forward, they will see him. And he does that.
Shoving his hands into his pockets, he then presents himself.
"Just say no if you don't want to be his girlfriend. Don't waste your time,"
Enlightened, you turn the senior down and run to Wonwoo. You complain at how bad his proposal was and Wonwoo chuckles.
"What do you do at the weekend?" as you wait for your chauffeur, you build a conversation with him.
Wonwoo isn't a person to be so friendly with someone. He thinks for a while as he contemplates to answer the question.
"Study in the library,"
Wonwoo is a smart student, and his answer doesn't come off as a surprise to you. "I've never been to a library before. I meant in this area but which one do you frequent?"
There are only two libraries in the area, and Wonwoo has only been to the small one since it's closer.
"Ooh, OK then." swiftly, you take a note of it. Just right after that, you see your family car drifts into the parking lot. "Oh! My car's here. I have to go now." you wave at him in a distance and shout. "Don't stay too long under the sunlight! Bye-bye!" then you disappear into the car.
When you arrive at the library on Saturday, you quickly scan the area for him. Lucky you the place is just up to your energy to find him.
You stride from one isle to another. It's probably the physics section when you find a familiar back.
"Hey," you whisper from the back. Wonwoo is so immersed in his reading and you bet he wouldn't have noticed you if you hadn't appeared before him after that call.
With a cheeky smile, you say. "Let's go out,"
He examines the surroundings and realizes that you come alone. "What are you doing here?" his volume is practically below scolding to avoid making a fuss in the quiet place.
"You ask too much! Come on," You jog to his side and help him pack his stuff.
"I only ask once, and I did not agree to you,"
Not bringing too many necessities, you wind up less than a minute. "Shh... Just come with me, will you?"

Work out
Armin Arlert x reader Oneshot
⚠ Sexual Content Ahead ⚠
Summary : I woke up, thought of gym sex and wrote it
Word Count : 2.3k
"Come on y/n, going to the gym is not that bad plus Mikasa would be joining us too", Annie encouraged you.
"Working out seems so much of trouble that I certainly don't want to partake as I'd rather spend my energy to binge watch anime", you replied flatly eyes not moving away from your phone.
Snatching your phone Annie said with a serious face, "Y/n how do you expect to pull any of your anime crushes looking like a potato? "
"Hey! Give me my phone back and even if I do look like a potato Sasha would love me and don't bring my husbands in this topic!" you ran after her to retrieve your phone.
"Alright then, I'll pay you a KFC meal if you come for one day to at least try it out", Annie suggested.
"I don't know why you're so adamant about taking me to the gym but if there's free food involved, I'm in", you gave in.
"I just want you to stay fit you know and we're starting tomorrow so go to sleep", your roommate said preparing her gym bag.
"Whaaat nooo", you complained unaware of the impact that a stranger you're going to meet will have have on you.
The next morning both Annie and you hopped into Mikasa's car to go to the private gym owned by Mikasa's family and family friends.
"That's actually a relief to be able to work out without fearing strangers looking at you", you reassured yourself.
"Yeah it's gonna be really comfortable and I also would like to introduce you to some of my friends y/n, I know you're gonna like them", Mikasa added.
"Well can't say I'm not excited to meet them", you replied looking at your phone reading a fanfiction.
Couple of minutes later you reached your destination. From the outside the building looked very modern with transparent glasses through which you could see the inside and barely any life around made the place peaceful.
When you went inside, Mikasa took you both to the changing room where you left your stuff on the shelf to change your outfit.
Putting your towel on your shoulders followed by Annie, Mikasa led the way to her friends who were lifting weights.
"Hey guys", Mikasa said to get their attention, "This is y/n and Annie and this is Eren and Armin", she said pointing at each person respectively.
"Pleasure to meet you two", Armin said as Eren nodded with him.
You swore that the moment you saw the blonde boy, your heart skipped a beat. He was so effortlessly gorgeous.
"Same here, hope to have a good gym buddy relation with you two", Annie replied as you were lost in your reflection. Snapping yourself from your thoughts, you agreed with her.
After that y'all left the boys to let them do their previous activities and went to train yourselves. With your unfit body you were tired from the first exercise itself and was laying on the ground trying to catch your breath.
You failed to understand how could Mikasa and Annie keep going but you were not going to give up and decided to look at it as a new challenge for yourself.
Picking yourself up, you went to do something easy as a starter which was skipping ropes.
Little did you know that the blonde guy had been sneaking peeks at you from time to time smiling to himself.
One hour later, everyone decided to take a break to refuel their energy.
"So, what are we going to eat", you questioned.
" Why not soup? I've been craving miso soup for a while," Armin proposed, everyone settling on soup.
Getting into the car, Eren drove us to the nearest fast food restaurant. Inside you sat between Annie and Armin. Filled with anxiety of Armin being so close to you, you fidgeted with your hands to keep yourself stable. Armin noticed your restlessness and asked if you were okay but you couldn't possibly tell him that you were crushing hard on him so you just replied with a 'I'm fine' and concentrated on your food.
"What are your majors?" Eren asked you and Annie to make conversation.
"I am doing engineering and y/n's an art student explaining why she's so lazy", Annie responded.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Annie, I am not lazy", you said passive-aggressively looking at Annie with murder in your eyes.
"Says the girl who could barely run to take her phone from me yesterday", she coughed smirking.
"No- I - bye-", you stammered making Armin erupt into a fits of laughter. His laugh gave the impression as though angels came down on earth to bestow you with blessings which in this case was the cute sound of his voice. You didn't realise that you were staring at him until Armin spoke, "Is there something on my face?"
"Yes," you said casually swipping the little ketchup stain near his mouth with a tissue. His cheeks were a light pink colour because of your action and he thanked the heavens for not letting his friends noticing what just happened.
"Th-thank you", he bashfully thanked.
"Sure", you said looking away to hide your blush.
Finishing your meals, y'all returned to the gym to continue training then took your leave after two hours. Saying your byes to the boys, Mikasa gave you both a ride to your dorm.
Throwing your body on your bed you heaved a sigh of relief that you were able to survive this first day of going to the gym.
"Tired already y/n ? Too bad we're going to do this routine everyday", Annie commented.
"I guess time to fill the fridge with energy drinks", you jumped out of bed to buy bundles of different brands of said drink.
The only thing that would be keeping you going about working out was that you were able to see Armin everyday.
Due to your classes running late one day you reached the gym at 06 00 pm. Everyone was still there; you greeted them and went to use the treadmill. At around half past seven your friends were hungry and decided to go to a nearby takeout to bring food to the gym because you didn't want to come out of exhaustion.
"You guys go ahead, I would keep y/n company", Armin told them.
Soon you were left alone with Armin and not knowing what to say out of shyness you excused yourself to the bathroom.
There you freshened up yourself to make yourself look more presentable to your crush. Luck was in your stars as you were wearing leggings that gave your ass a nice curve with a matching colour sportsbra.
When you came out, you saw that Armin was missing. You assumed that he too went to the restroom and decided to do squats. A little while later the man indeed returned from the wc. His breath was caught in his throat when he saw you.
He came up to you and asked if you needed any help regarding your training.
"Actually I do, would you assist me in doing sit ups?" you requested.
"Yeah sure, I'll hold your shoes while you're doing them," Armin accepted.
Laying your body on the mat, you watched Armin going in front of you to your feet and held them down. You began to lift your body with your hands on the back of your head as you realised how close your faces were being when you were raised up. You never realised how broad his shoulders were until then and you gulped hard.
"How much do you plan on doing?" Armin asked.
"I'm setting a limit of thirty but let's see if I manage to exceed it." He nodded. Gosh, how does someone manage to look cute and hot at the same time?!
At your 15th sit-up you lifted up your body to make eye contact with him as you were with the previous sit-ups but this time it lasted longer because you stayed still. Both of you gazed into the eye of each other without saying a word your faces becoming closer. You didn't realise what you were doing. It wasn't long until both of your lips touched each other. When your senses were brought back to you, you pulled back so quickly. For a second you saw a frown on Armin's face.
"OMG! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do this, I swear," you apologized frenzily.
"It's okay, I don't mind at all," Armin just chuckled at your reaction. He came closer and tucked your hair to your ear.
"Have you ever realised how beautiful you were?" he whispered in your ear making all your blood rush to your head.
"I - I- mmph," you were cut off by Armin
colliding his mouth with yours. He sucked on your lower lip asking permission to let his tongue enter your mouth. You opened it a little only for him to stuck in his whole muscle.
You left out a small moan feeling his tongue roaming everywhere while his hand untied your hair and was playing with it.
He had the most tender lips that you ever felt in your life. Giving you a forehead kiss, he held your face in his hands stroking it with his thumb.
You crawled to sit on his lap as he continued to shower you with affection. His head pats were so gentle, you were melting under his touch. He bowed to gain access to your neck and gave it a subtle lick and then proceeded to find your sweet spot kissing you everywhere. A small mewl left your lips when he kissed a certain spot. The man was proud of himself to have found it and attacked it with hickeys. At this point you were shaking on his thighs and in his embrace.
Your hands reached the bottom of his shirt and pulled it off him. His sweaty body glowed in the light yet he looked so heavenly. You couldn't help but lick his collarbones leaving your saliva on his skin.
The fear of getting caught by your friends during this sinful moment turned you on.
Armin's hand gave your ass a tender squeeze before making you lay your whole body on the mat as he left a trail of kisses from your neck your stomach. He grabbed your waist to kiss your on your bellybutton.
"Is it okay if I remove it?" he said hinting at your leggings. You lifted your lower body to help him remove it and threw it away. He gave your core a kiss then carried you in bridal style to place you on the bench press.
He spread your legs and buried his face between them. You wouldn't have never expected such an innocent face to do such unholy things to your body in your life. He sucked your clit which sent electrics all throughout your body. He ate you out as though you were the most tastiest meal he's ever had. You crushed his head with your thighs but he didn't seem to mind that as he continued doing his job. You were pulling his hair so hard screaming his name making sure people passing nearby could hear how good he was making you feel.
His soft hands ran through your thighs making small circle motions on them to soothe you.
"Ar-Armin, I-,"
"It's okay love you can spill it on my face, I want every single drop down my throat," Armin panted.
What he said set off a trigger and the knot in your stomach snapped. All your juices went on Armin's face and he ensured to have swallowed everything.
He retreated away from your opening swipping your cum with his fingers and licking them off. While you were collecting your breath, Armin took off his sweatpants and let his hardened dick free.
"Do you mind if I -," he insinuated with his dick at your entrance.
"Please Armin don't hesitate," you were practically begging him. You expected him to slide it in but instead he was stroking your folds with his swollen member. This felt so good it sent you in a rollercoaster of immense pleasure. You could feel his veins pulsating against your own pulsating clit.
While he was caressing your cunt, his hands went to grab your boobs and fondled them.
His up and down motion continued as he was mixing his precum with your wetness.
Your overwhelming neediness pushed you to grind on him as he was moving so slowly. With instinct you lifted your hips as shivers were sent through your spine. Noticing this Armin picked up speed and with his hand rubbed your clit hard. He bent over to give you a kiss on your nose then to make out with you.
"Ah-ah, y/n-I'm going to cum," Armin moaned.
"Cum with me Armin," you breathed.
Suddenly he picked up more speed and thrusted faster. His dick was moving so quick on you, the lewd sound of your pussy's liquids filled the gym. Armin held your hands and intertwined your fingers. He let out a grunt as he came on your stomach and you on the bench.
He looked at you with such love in his eyes and reached out to wipe your tears and kissed your hands.
He fetched your leggings while he also cleaned the bench leaving no marks of this incident. Since your legs were shaking so much you could barely walk, Armin carried you to the bathroom.
After you went to pee, he made you sit on a stool and he tied your hair back in a ponytail. Hugging you from the back he asked, "Are you feeling okay now beautiful or do you need anything?"
"Water?" you replied.
"Anything for you," he went to fetch the requested item.
Just at that moment your friends returned.
You thanked the universe for not making them arrive while you were making love with Armin and you kept your cool acting as though nothing happened.
Thus, this was the start of a wonderful relationship.
End.
Thank you for reading. :)

☾.:°∗★.:☆:.★∗°:.☽
Wakatoshi is not a romantic. You know that best out of anyone—knowing the boy for years gives you a decent awareness of what type of person he is. He doesn’t have much of an interest in things that aren’t volleyball. Even his friends are scarce, limited to you and Tendou and some of the other third-years on the volleyball team. It’s not like he’s lonely—he’s reserved by nature and choice, never really expanding his social circle and putting his energy into extra practices rather than nights out.
You suppose that’s why you get along so well with him. You also suppose that’s why it was a shock to hear that Wakatoshi accepted someone’s confession.
You were no stranger to hearing about these confessions—not because Wakatoshi tells you about them, but because you’re often the one who has to act as the messenger between the confessors of the week and Wakatoshi himself. It’s a bit draining, frankly, to be looked at as a tool to get closer to the ace, but you put up with it because at least you still have him.
Her name is Hana, and she was one of the very few people who confessed to Wakatoshi personally.
He told you the details while walking you to your dorm, and you were a little suspicious of how in-depth he seemed to go about the event. He was interested, you deduced, and in the moment you forced yourself to shove down the ball that rose white-hot in your throat.
“She invited me to dinner on Sunday. Her family owns a restaurant. She said she’ll make me my favorite.”
Oh, you think, I’ve made his favorite plenty of times—you cut that thought off in fear of sounding bitter over losing someone who was never really yours.
“So you’re going, then?”
It’s silent. You stare intently at the way your feet step against the concrete. At the persistent lull in the conversation, you glance up to Wakatoshi.
His cheeks are red, and his gaze is trained pointedly away from you.
He’s blushing, you realize. He’s blushing because he’s embarrassed, embarrassed that now he has someone he’s interested in.
You know you should be happy, and the robotic voice in your head chants, “That’s cute! That’s great!” But you know yourself a little better than that, and decide that you aren’t the happiest with this epiphany.
But you’ll sure as hell make it seem like you are, for Wakatoshi’s sake and Hana’s, too.
You give a smile, one without crinkles at the corners of your eyes, and elbow him playfully. “That’s cute, Toshi. I’m surprised you found someone you’re interested in, but I’m really happy for you.”
He’s smiling, now, and it’s a gentle smile you rarely see form in your presence. As you wave goodbye to him at the steps of your dorm building, you wonder if you’ll have to stop calling him Toshi in fear of upsetting Hana.
---
You’re getting ahead of yourself, you think in the days following Wakatoshi’s unintentional admission of feelings. He’s just trying out a date for once. It’s not like you’re going to lose him immediately.
For the remainder of the week, Wakatoshi still walks you to your dorm after practice (you stay in the library until he’s done), and still lets you sit with him at lunch. By Friday, you make an excuse to avoid the cafeteria (read: avoid him, but you don’t tell him that) and tell him not to wait for you after practice.
You text him on Sunday asking him to tell you how the date goes. He responds with, “It was very fun. I really like her :)” and you feel your heart crack under the strain of your unrequited feelings. But you suck it up, like a good friend, you think, and tell him “that’s great!! i’m so happy for you :)”
On Monday, you go back to sitting with Wakatoshi at lunch. When you smile and place your bento box on the table, he waves awkwardly and blinks at you.
Oh, you think, yet again. Maybe I shouldn’t be sitting here.
You feel a stifling lack of familiarity in the air, and it pains you to admit it. You nod back at Wakatoshi, then blink at your lunch tray, feeling too awkward to even open it up and start eating.
He doesn’t say anything. You uncharacteristically take the initiative.
“So… your date,” you begin. “Did you like it?”
His eyelids flutter yet again, and a fond smile crosses his features. “Yes, I did. Her restaurant is very nice, and so is her family. The hayashi rice was very good. She wants to go out again this weekend.”
“You’re going again?” It’s rhetorical. You know the answer already. He nods, and goes back to eating his lunch. A few minutes pass by, and you still can’t find the strength to pick at your bento.
Just as you open your mouth again to babble about a random topic to fill the silence, Wakatoshi’s head darts up and his eyes focus on something behind you. You twist around to see what it is, but a cold feeling in your veins tells you you already know.
She’s pretty, you think as she waves at you and Toshi and takes a seat next to him. Really pretty, actually.
And an angel. She greets you politely, with a wide smile that makes the corners of her eyes crinkle. Her hands are soft and she has pastel yellow acrylics on her nails. “Hi! I’m Hana, it’s nice to meet you. What’s your name?”
The question sends another wave of cold electricity through your system, and you feel like crying at the realization that Wakatoshi probably didn’t even talk about you. He probably never talks about you, you think, because there’s just not much to talk about when it comes to you.
You give a smile. Your eyes don’t crinkle. “[Y/N],” you tell her. “I’m Ushijima’s friend.”
Maybe the use of his family name is a bit petty, but you convince yourself that you’re just trying to make yourself distant, trying to make yourself appear as less of a threat to Hana. You think it’s natural that she might get antsy about another girl being in Wakatoshi’s life, but then think that she’s probably too kind to ever get jealous or upset. It only makes your heart ache more.
You see the subtlest flinch from Wakatoshi at the use of his surname, but you assume he doesn’t really care much. Him and Hana start talking casually, and tears prick behind your eyes as Hana does her best to involve you in the conversation. She’s so nice, so so nice, and it isn’t fair for you to be so bitter.
“I have to go study in the library now,” you tell them, picking up your untouched bento box from the table and standing up. “But it was really nice meeting you, Hana.” She smiles again, glossy lips and pearly teeth before Wakatoshi interrupts you.
“You didn’t tell me you were leaving early?”
You pause, and think of the irony of that—he didn’t tell you Hana was sitting with him, otherwise you would’ve left them alone in the first place. But you brush it off, and maintain your smile. “Yeah, I guess I forgot.” You huff a humorless laugh. “But I’ll see you guys later.”
You don't end up going to the library, instead settling for the nurse’s office. She’s nice, you think, nice enough to let you get away with a stomachache and sitting out of class for the remainder of the day.
When you’re dismissed, you habitually wait for Wakatoshi at the side door of the school building. It’s a Monday, and he doesn’t have practice, so he’d be able to walk you back to your dorm rather than making you wait in the library.
It’s a fruitless effort, and you hit yourself for not anticipating it earlier—maybe if you did , you would’ve been at your dorm already. If you did, you wouldn’t wait for twenty minutes with the empty hope that Wakatoshi would still walk you home. If you did, you wouldn’t have to watch them pass down the sidewalk together, his team jacket draped over Hana as they talked with each other, hands interlocked and smiles persistent.
As you blink away tears and walk away from the scene, you think that Hana must really be someone special, to break down Wakatoshi’s walls so quickly and make him be so familiar with her in a matter of days.
Either that, or you were never anything special. Just complacent with the relationship you had with the boy, which you think was only formulated out of the coincidence of growing up together.
You try not to let the thoughts get to you, but after a heartbreak it’s a little difficult to think positively about yourself. You settle for taking a nap once you get to your dorm, and hope that the school’s library is open during lunch tomorrow.
---
Thankfully, it is, and you wordlessly leave Hana and Wakatoshi to their own devices during lunch. He doesn’t question it, doesn’t text you, doesn’t ask you after lunch or during class about it. When you dismiss, you don’t wait for him to walk you to your dorm, and for the second time, you’re left walking alone. It’s a little nerve-wracking, having such a sudden change in your routine, and you’re starting to regret not expanding your social circle. If you did, you’d have someone to talk to at lunch, someone to walk with after dismissal, someone to hang out with during the weekends, another contact in your phone that wasn’t just your parents and Wakatoshi.
The week ends. Wakatoshi never texts you, never asks you if you’re okay or questions why you’re so distant. It’s simultaneously painful and relieving—knowing that your presence could so easily be deducted from his life made you rethink a lot of things, but at the same time you think his lack of action makes it easier for you to deal with it.
During lunch on Monday, you’re alone in the library. Until you’re not.
Red flashes by your vision until you can properly process the form of a boy sitting across from you, chin resting in his palm as he looks at you curiously, a teasing expression on his face.
It’s Tendou—you know him fairly well. You can’t consider him a friend just yet, but you’re somewhat close to him, what with both of you being friends with Wakatoshi.
You blink at him, and cock your head to the side. He follows suit. He’s interesting, you think.
“Hi, Tendou.” You greet. “What are you doing here?”
He narrows his eyes at the stiff greeting, and the arm supporting his head drops to the table. A smile peeks through his features, and while his eyes don’t crinkle you can still tell it’s genuine and friendly.
“Just wanted to say hi. I didn’t see you in the cafeteria with Wakatoshi like you usually are. Actually, I haven’t seen you there for a while now. It took me some time to find out where you go, but I’m here now!”
You don’t know how to respond to that, so you settle for a blank stare. He huffs in mock annoyance, and throws his head back with a groan that nearly alerts the librarian.
“Aren’t you happy? Now you can stop moping around and hang out instead.” A pause, then, “So what’s up with you and Toshi? Why don’t you sit with him anymore?”
So this is a therapy session, you think sardonically. Alright, sure. I guess I can tell him.
“He has a girlfriend.” You wince at how sad the words sound coming out of your mouth, and quickly try to defend your tone. “Which is a good thing! I’m not upset—” oh yeah, definitely not, “—but I wanted to leave them alone, so they can hang out. I don't want to get in their way.”
Tendou doesn't respond immediately, instead settling for tilting his head and narrowing his eyes in suspicion. You’re sure he already knows the real reason, but give up on trying to clarify yourself any further.
He gives a wordless hum, eyes darting to the bento box you’d set aside at the beginning of the period. “You’re not eating.” It’s not a question, more of an observation, and you tense up. Tendou isn’t a threat, you know that, but his hyper-awareness of everything and everyone around him intimidates you greatly.
“Not hungry,” you respond, avoiding his scrutinizing gaze. “I eat breakfast, and I don’t normally get hungry until the afternoon.”
“It is the afternoon.” Technically, he’s not wrong. It’s almost 1:30. Regardless, you huff at his technicalities and remain silent.
His gaze is still locked on you. You wonder what he’s still here for, and jokingly tell yourself he’s going to give you a letter and ask you to give it to Wakatoshi like everyone else does.
“You don’t have to stay alone just ‘cause Toshi got a girlfriend.” He’s blunt in his words, which you detest and appreciate at the same time. “He’s not your whole life—doesn’t have to be. You’ve got me now. I’m your new friend, Tendou Satori!” By the end of his spiel, he’s back to his playful self, tone turning childish as he strikes a pose and winks at you.
You make an agreement (more like, he makes a proposition and forces you to comply) to wait for him in the library after school and let him walk you to your dorm. As he leads you to the building, chatting loudly and making you laugh harder than you have in weeks, a strong resolve plants itself in your head.
You have a new friend, and his name is Tendou Satori.
---
For the next week and a half, Tendou is complacent with your dismissive attitude regarding Wakatoshi and indulges you in mindless activities to distract you from any stresses. During the weekend, he takes you out to the mall, buys you boba, and forces you to try on clothes of his choice with the promise that you can do the same to him. While you both giggle in front of the mirror of the dressing room, he pulls out his phone, snaps a picture of you and him in the mirror, and posts it on his Snapchat. You don’t think much of that. It’s the most fun you’ve had in a while, and even before then you don’t remember enjoying your time with Wakatoshi as much.
That epiphany makes you hurt a bit, but then you feel Tendou grasp your wrist and lead you off somewhere and things are better. Things are a lot better, really, until a new week approaches and Wakatoshi texts you for the first time in nearly a month.
You hung out with Tendou?
You blink. It’s an interesting way to start a conversation. You suppose Wakatoshi’s not one for formalities, and conclude that he must’ve seen Tendou’s post. Frankly, you’re a bit insulted that Wakatoshi seems shocked at the concept that you can make friends on your own, but you brush it off and text him back.
yeah!! we started talking a while ago. he’s cool.
Oh
Are you mad at me?
You don’t know what to think of his question. You don’t know where it came from, or how to respond. Discerning his tone of voice is a bit difficult over text, even more so than it is in person. Nevertheless, you answer honestly.
no? not really? why are you asking?
It takes him a while to respond, and your anxiety grows with each passing second.
You haven't talked to me recently. You don’t eat lunch in the cafeteria anymore. Did I do something wrong?
You don’t know how to explain it to him—don’t really have the energy to go on a rant about how you were avoiding him for your sake, his sake, and his girlfriend’s sake, how you had feelings for him for years and he never noticed and how it was kind of a dick move to be upset over you avoiding him for a month and not even bothering to approach you about it in the first week you started going to the library or the nurse during lunch and walking to the dorms alone.
You settle, once again, for something simpler.
don’t worry about it :) i wasn't avoiding you, but i wanted to give you and hana time alone, so that i didn’t bother you.
Are you and Tendou dating?
You’re sure you’re going to get whiplash from this conversation. You let out a breathy chuckle and tap away on your phone.
no, ushijima, we’re just friends
Oh. Okay
Would you like to sit with me and Hana at lunch tomorrow?
You read the text, then reread it, and lean back in your chair with a sigh. You’re not sure that Wakatoshi knows what he’s doing, but you still appreciate the intended kindness behind the words. You straighten out your posture, look at the blinking line in the message box, and turn your phone off.
The library doors open, and Tendou bounds through with a cute little hop, immediately going to your usual table with a smile.
“Ready to go?” He asks. You check the time—it’s nearly half past six. Tendou notices and apologizes.
“Sorry for making you wait so long. Practice ran a little longer than usual and I didn’t get the chance to text you about it. Wakatoshi was kind of out of it, so Coach made us all suffer the consequences.” He coupled his statements with a laugh, and it eased the unpleasant feeling that arose with his last sentence. His thin fingers wrapped around your wrist carefully, and he tugged you out of your seat to lead you back home.
Wakatoshi left a bit of an empty gap in your life. And you knew that you’d still be reminded of him often and that pain in your chest will return sometimes. The doubt of your previous friendship and the personal guilt of not trying to get closer to him sooner would still linger for a while. But Tendou Satori was a good distraction, and a great friend.
