thinking about hob and how, if he actually wanted to, 'seeking death' would actually work.
generally Death just seems to know when she's needed places, I guess people's deaths are laid out in Destiny's book and she learns them when she needs to. simply saying "I want to die" is not going to summon Death herself, since you aren't actually dying -- I suppose actually trying to kill yourself would summon Death, but even so wouldn't that be written in the Book as your cause of death? (If successful) and if not successful Death wouldn't be summoned because you wouldn't die.
What I'm wondering is if Hob did choose to 'seek death' what does he actually have to do. Presumably Hob's original time of death, before he was granted immortality, has long passed. But it's stated that Hob can still choose to die if he wants. Does Hob have to actually die -- like, get himself in a situation that would kill a mortal person -- or can he just say "I'm old enough I've had enough" and just check out, since technically he should have died of old age anyway?
If Hob got himself mortally wounded or something, would simply wanting to die (as like... a feeling?) be enough to count as choosing Death and prevent him from coming back? Or is it more active than that? Does Hob have to intentionally hurt himself in order to demonstrate that it's, well, intentional?
Most people couldn't just say "I want to die" and have it happen, but Hob is kind of a special case -- can he summon Death just by willing it? How does that communication work? How does Death hear him?
Or -- and here's where it gets weirder -- is Hob's choice itself written in Destiny's book, so if he were to choose Death it wouldn't matter how he tried to contact her, she'd know by what was written and show up either way?
Anyway. This is both musings and an elaborate lead-up to a tropey fic scenario where Dream and Hob (mostly Dream) get themselves into some kind of situation (was Dream kidnapped again? Dreaming under siege? dealer's choice), Dream is incapacitated, the only thing Hob can think of is getting the help of another Endless -- namely Death, because she's the one he has some kind of direct line to, right?? He doesn't actually know how it works because he's obviously never tried to seek Death. But if he communicates that he wants to die she should come, right?
He tries just talking but it doesn't work, and he's like, of course it didn't I don't actually want to die, there's no intent in it. If the personification of Death could be summoned by just saying you want to die she'd be zipping at lightspeed through every Gen Z classroom in the world and would never get anything done. No, it's gotta have intent.
Hob knows he can be mortally wounded and come back. He does not know what happens if he tries to kill himself because he's never done that. He doesn't know if he'll just die or if Death will actually talk to him first -- he's totally in the dark. But he's got to get a message to her somehow.
Therefore.
Hob has a knife pressed to his chest and is about to plunge it into his heart when Destiny's book rewrites accordingly and Death shows up just in time like HOB!!

Bacon Man: Wha- Why isn't it? This isn't working!
Dakota: Make Bacon Man intangible. Lightspeed is in there.
William: I only got- I've only got two hands! Um…
Dakota: Let go of me.
William: [I look at him, like… dead in the eyes… pleadingly. Please don't go back in there. [And I'm going to let go of him… and hold Bacon Man]
-
William: Dakota, I- I- I know it's caution to the wind with you… and I wanna hope… I really, really wanna hope that Ashe is still in there. But if he's not… I'm gonna pick to save you. I want you to know that. And I hope you're not mad at me for that.
Dakota: No, I mean, of course I'm not. I'm mad at myself. A little bit more every time we don't save him.
-
William: Blink twice… slowly if you understand what I'm saying.
Dakota: … About?
William: You needing to care about yourself!
Dakota: I do care about myself.
William: Like me and Vynce about you- but caring about yourself in a way that you don't just throw self-preservation out the window! Whenever you- whenever you want to be a hero!
Dakota: What's that?
William: A real hero saves everyone, okay? And that means… you also gotta save yourself! So, please! Please - whatever the form is to Dakota of- of… you know, a promise.
Dakota: Okay! I promise… that I will never die. [I hold up my pinky.]
William: What? (laughs) Fucking…
Dakota: And then you promise… that we'll find a way for you to live again.
William: You know what? Screw it.
William: [ I'm gonna hold out my pinky… and I'm gonna pinky- pinky lock with Dakota.]
-
William: Right now don't think about- cause it's too much. It is too much for anyone, to think about all the people you're hurting and all the people whose actions are hurting, and if they're hurt, who else is hurt?  Don't worry about all that. Just close your eyes. Be Dakota for a minute. Just Dakota. And answer your own question of what he wants. [and does he have like- when Dakota is getting overwhelmed by stuff, am I right in saying he put on headphones? Can I offer him a pair?]
Dakota: [I still have Ashe’s on my head]
-
William: Your right Dakota, listen, you,- you selfless piece of shit. Ok, you're going into this surgery and I'm coming with you. Ok. this might be completely insane but what's it gonna do, kill me more? And- and if you've shown me anything, if you've shown me anything at all it's that you don't need to lift a bus or whatever to be strong. Or to be the strongest hero- I think you already are.
-
William: I'm really really sorry! I didn't think you would understand! And I still you think don’t, but I need to tell you because I really fucked up and I didn't realize I really fucked up but i did. And i thought that if I didint tell you I could save a lot of people but now I  realize ididnt save anyone i might have just really really hurt some people! Some people that matter.
Dakota: [Dakota puts his hand over the phone speaker] Master! Were leaving [i put the phone back up to my ear] tell me where to be.
-
Dakota: We can't do better on our own, you're not wrong for wanting to trust somebody.
William: I sure wasn't right. I lied to you.
Dakota: Yeah
William: I hurt Tide. I should be what you hate.
Dakota: Lying makes me feel … it's the only thing that makes me feel the weakest. Like I'm not strong enough to handle the truth, or I'm not believed in, or trusted. And maybe- and maybe when we met I wasn't strong enough but I know Tide will forgive you. And I should too. That's what a hero would do, I think, that's what I want to do cause you’re my friend.
-
William: “And I know you more than well enough to know that nothing will stop you, Dakota. But I sure as hell will slow you down. I don’t wanna hurt you anymore Dakota. This thing isn’t yours to carry, OK?”
Dakota: “Too fucking bad. I’m not gonna be a hero without you. Or you Vyncent. I fucking hate this. But I love you two. Just like my aunt, you are my family. So you will not push me away. It doesn’t make what happened alright or easier- but nothing ever is.”
-
William: "yeha if were doing this now-" [gonna pull out my little wolf totem, my little paper wolfy guy] "dakota, vync, i think im jsut gonna slow you guys down"
Vyncent: "what do you mean?"
William: "i mean i dont want to make another mistake, i dont want you to have to save me too. so here. you pick, this will keep people from getting possesed, im gonna stay back here with uplink and maybe cross, and see if i can help you guys from here. i dont want to get in your way."
Dakota: "hey, i wasn't just talking to them out there, if this is what you gotta do to keep living, i will value your support over the intercom, but just know that vyncent and i are gonna win."
William: "i know"
Dakota: "were gonna keep living and were gonna be here tomorrow"
William :"ok-"
Vyncent: "yeah"
William: "ill hold up my end of the promise if you hold up yours. dont die." [ill take the totem from him]
-
no not really. theyre ok i geuss i dont. think about ghostkikcs frequently

Since I'm distracted by working on a fic, and I saw a somewhat similar AU in the Sonic au tag, I've decided to just go ahead and post about it...
Project Lightspeed (aka Wisp Sonic)
Note: I messed up on some of the color positions with the first drawing but there's another drawing that's more accurate!
Tumblr media
(Above picture is his modern design)
The second artificially made lifeform on the ARK, Project Lightspeed Sonic uses a combination of the Cyan Laser and Ivory Lightning Wisps that were forcefully infused to him to run at the incredible speeds he's able to reach.
He isn't actually aware that he'd been infused with the power of the Wisps or his origins in general until Sonic Adventure 2 happens. To say he react well to everything is kinda an understatement...
As for how he ends up on Earth and all that? Well first we need to establish a bit of background.
Peoject Lightspeed, as he was referred to on the ARK, didn't get the same treatment as Shadow. In fact his treatment was much worse. While he was also created with the help of Gerald his double purpose was different from Shadow's. As for why I say double purpose? Well there's the main purpose they're presented as and then there's GUN's true purpose for them.
Project Shadow's main purpose was presented as finding a cure for Maria, while GUN's true purpose was for him to be The Ultimate Lifeform.
Project Lightpseed's main purpose was presented as being able to quickly help people get to safety or to a hospital, while GUN's true purpose for him was to be an improved version of The Ultimate Lifeform. And this time they'd ensure everything they could to keep him away from Gerald's much too caring hands in an attempt to mold him to their liking.
While technically Sonic is more powerful than Shadow, he's unaware of certain abilities he possesses which makes it so when they fight they're on more equal footing. He can not only do everything Shadow can but better, but he's also got his own unique chaos abilities... that I still need to figure out.
Btw the reason he only has one inhibitor ring is because, due to secretly being an improved version of The Ultimate Lifeform, his energy is much more stable than Shadow's.
So due to how kindhearted Sonic is, their attempts to mold him to their liking made them very unhappy with him. He'd constantly get punished for not obeying their orders. Punishments started out as more grueling testing and hurting him. When that didn't work after a while they decided to try some different methods, eventually finding that submerging him in water was the most effective in getting him to do what they want. At that point the only thing he'd still try to refuse to do is kill.
The reason it was so effective is cause he's not only made up of mostly energy, but it so happens that one his main components is lightning. So combine those two things with the fact that water and electricity don't mix well? Well needless to say that constantly submerging him in it causes his hydrophobia to become extreme.
And then eventually the ARK raid happens...
Knowing he's likely going to die anyways and since he was in the general area, Gerald takes pity on Sonic and helps him escape. Sonic easily trusts him since he's one of the only people to not hurt him. Gerald does his best to escort him to one of the multiple escape pod zones, informing him of what he'll need to do if Gerald is unable to make it with him. Which is good since he doesn't. The way it happens is that he ends up having to stall some guards, subsequently resulting in his arrest.
Sonic makes it to the pods and manages to escape, but not before obtaining even more trauma. So much so that he ends up repressing his memories of the ARK in general.
Unfortunately the pod ends up malfunctiong because of Sonic's powers going on the fritz due to the stress of the situation. Speaking of stress, he manages to essentially short circuit himself and enters a self induced coma as his body tries to fix itself. It doesn't help that he's subconsciously using a fraction of his energy to power the pod's essentials. Most notably life support and stasis.
The pod ends up crashing into Westside Island, causing the locals to investigate. Locked from the inside and short circuited, the islanders are unable to open it or see inside. Eventually they give up and, being too heavy for them to move, wind up just making a scrapyard around the pod.
Fast forward a little less than 50 years when a certain two tailed fox comes across it while looking for some scrap to use. Curious as to what could be inside when he's unable to open it, he makes something to tow the pod to his shack and it ends up becoming his own little pet project.
One day, while the fox is out, the blue and yellow hedgehog in the pod finally wakes up.
The amnesiac stumbles his way out of the pod and falls onto the ground. And of course it's that moment the fox finally returns home.
And while the fox had no idea what to expect from the stranger, something he defientely wasn't expecting was for them to be terrified upon seeing him.
Tumblr media
(The red rings aren't inhibitors but rather cuffs that they used to help keep him in line aboard the ARK)
It takes a while for the currently nameless hedgehog to even think about trusting the fox. People meant bad things happen to him, even if he doesn't remember why. He ends up subconsciously curling into a ball and stays that way for a while, baffling the fox as to when he eats or drinks.
(They much later learn that he doesn't need to eat or drink as he's able to sustain himself with his own energy)
And while the hedgehog doesn't talk he eventually gives the fox a chance, who he'd nicknamed Tails in his head, and becomes overprotective over him. From there they slowly but surely come to view each other as brothers.

William and his worry over Dakota's lack of self-preservation
[transcript:
Ashe: Sorry I couldn't… William (choked up): You kicked him so hard it was so cool. Ashe: … do more. Dakota: I thought… he was gonna get hit by the golf court - colf cart? Golf cart. William: I put it in manual. I don't know how to drive manual.
(Condi laughs)
William: Man, don't do that shit ever again.
Charlie: I hug him.
Dakota: (coughs) it hurts. William: You should've got in the fucking golf cart! Dakota: (strained) Oh, it hurts. (Normally) But he could've dodged! I had to hold him there. He was too strong. He was much stronger than he looks. Or maybe I wasn't strong enough, I don't know. William (no longer choked up): None of that, man, just promise me you'll get in the golf cart next time, alright? Don't go off doing stuff by yourself like that. Dakota: I was still- It was still a team effort.
---
Bacon Man: Wha- Why isn't it? This isn't working! Dakota: Make Bacon Man intangible. Lightspeed is in there. William: I only got- I've only got two hands! Um… Dakota: Let go of me.
Charlie: I look at him, like… dead in the eyes… pleadingly.

it’s the queen’s gambit job (lev 4x10) and they are sitting around a table in mcrory’s eating takeout. running down the con.
and nate’s last minute addition of salt to parker’s equipment wasn’t plan b. no, it was plan m.
which is the plan hardison usually dies in. that is if he hasn’t already died in plans c, f, or m thru q. which hardison is VERY concerned about. after all that’s like 27% of the time. it’s a little too close to home.
eliot and parker don’t die in any plans, tho eliot could be permanently disfigured and blinded in one.
nate DOES NOT ANSWER for sophie.
so they are bickering and being found family (and seriously hoping this is just nate messing with them) and parker proposes a toast. to a glass eye.
and I am gonna headcanon that this becomes a kinda inside code. maybe not plan m, but bad. tho the level of bad is never discussed. after all it’s just a joke. right?
so it’s years later and parker’s the mastermind. she regularly assures hardison that there is no plan m. it’s not even in her alphabet. eliot teases her that her plans span different languages. hardison mutters about binary code and quadratic equations. there’s no m in cuniform, right?
and most the time their cons go off without a hitch. parker’s good like that. the best. her plans are like ballets spun between rotating laser beams. both planned to the smallest movement and completely on the fly. set to violin symphanies, country ballads, and christmas carols.
but sometimes the cons go wrong. eliot gets injured. hardison can’t hack the code. she gets trapped inside a building. and sometimes the cons go wrong bad. sometimes it gets bloody.
that’s when they say it. the first time was eliot. he’d been fighting with the mark’s security goons when the gunshot had rung out over the comms. followed by a grunt of pain and the sound of a body hitting the floor. then a terrible silence. parker hates that she knows what it means.
she flips around in the air duct. barely manages to keep her voice low. the cons over. I’m coming to you eliot. the only sound on the comms is the clack of hardison’s lightspeed typing. a buzzing static. do you hear me eliot? I’m coming to get you.
eliot? hardison’s voice sounds so small. that’s when parker remembers that they’d hacked the cctv footage. hardison had seen the whole thing. I-- he-- hardison stutters before rushing out he’s been shot. it’s bad. you got to get to him parker and you got to get to him. now.
eliot’s gruff drawl interrupts them. I think this might be a glass eye scenario, sweethearts.
hardison’s typing never falters, but his breath hitches over the comms and his voice is strangled—like he swallowed his soda wrong—when he tells eliot to shut up, I am trying to save your ass. you already look mean enough without any damn glass eye.
it’s classic hardison. talking right over all his internal fears. trying to manifest his words into being. eliot’s huff of laughter tho. it’s strained but it’s also the most beautiful thing she’s ever heard.
parker’s still in the air vent. she’s moving as fast as she can without rattling the ducts. she whispers into her comms. you should have hardison make it bionic. put a laser in it. and after dealing with a tricky corner dip, also it should be green.
more pained laughter, followed by a groan. my eyes are blue, parker. then hardison’s, guess we’ll just have to save you then. keep you from going all 6 million dollar-terminator-borg on us. keep your baby blues blue. parker smiles. she knows her boys. knew they always focus better when they are bickering.
and in the end it’s okay. parker gets to eliot with the first aid kit and patches him up. hardison hijacks them an elevator and they get out safely. eliot’s glass eye is evaded.
the next time it’s hardison. he’s snatched from lucille 5—right out from under their noses. they can hear his squawk of surprise over the comms. the shuffle of bodies and the distinct sounds of fists hitting flesh.
eliot growls deep and menacingly. parker can hear him instantly switch gears—from grifting the mark to protecting the team. his heavy footfalls are followed by offended protestations as he knocks people out of his way. the con is blown but parker doesn’t care.
because there’s snow fizzing in one ear and a polite automated error message in the other telling her all she needs to know. hardison’s gone. taken.
it’s an excruciating 28 hrs later when a text message from an unknown number chimes thru on parker’s backup burner phone. it’s only two words: glass eye.
parker sidles right up to eliot. bumps their shoulders together and shows him the message. it’s hardison. we can track his location if we move quick.
good. eliot’s voice drops from it’s usual honeyed whiskey to bloody gravel. it always does when he’s in hitter mode. tell me where he is. I swear if they’ve hurt him I’ll rip their lungs out. parker nods, hardison’s spare laptop already open on her lap. I’ll help.
hardison’s in bad shape when they find him. but not as bad as his captors once eliot’s thru with them. they’re on the highway speeding toward a hospital when hardison finally opens his eyes. parker can see him smile up at eliot in the rearview mirror before he glances up at her.
it’s my peoples. knew you’d come get me. eliot uses a corner of his bandana to wipe the blood away from hardison’s face. course we did, alec. can’t have you getting any glass eyes. wouldn’t suit you. eliot leans down and stage whispers in his ear, his voice warm and smooth again, you’re not nearly badass enough.
hardison sputters in outrage and parker lets out the breath she didn’t know she was holding. drops the hard line of her shoulders. lets up on the gas. if her boys are bickering then she knows everything is going to be okay.
hardison will be okay. they will be okay. no glass eyes today.
and eventually it’s parker’s turn. it’s not even a proper job—she’s scaling an elevator shaft for recon when a support gives way. and it’s silly. she’s fallen 3 floors and her leg is definitely broken. and she can hear eliot’s voice in her ear saying it was a very distinctive crunch but all she can think is that this is her glass eye.
she must’ve said that out loud because hardison is babbling on about scars and lasers and talking about numbers. seven and nine what? she vaguely thinks it might be some sort of new concussion protocol tho she can’t quite focus enough to make it make sense.
something warm and wet is pooling under her cheek, blocking her vision. oh and that’s it, isn’t it? hardison’s still muttering under his breath and eliot is grunting her name over the comms. c’mon parker you gotta talk to me! I’m coming to get you dammit but you gotta talk. to. me.
can I have a snowglobe in my glass eye? hardison sputters before stuttering—woman I swear you will be the death of me. and she thinks he sounds a little bit relieved. but it doesn’t stop his voice from warbling when he asks, you okay mama?
parker lifts her face out of the tacky puddle it’s in, starts to nod and then immediately throws up. she can’t focus. eliot’s don’t move parker, you have a concussion is followed by a sympathy gag from hardison.
her head is throbbing and her leg feels like it’s on fire. but she can hear her boys breathing over the comms. can hear them cajole her to talk more. they’re coming to get her.
but they’re not bickering. and that feels wrong. that feels wrong bad.
and then there’s a metal scraping sound as the elevator doors above her are pried open. light floods the shaft and parker blinks into it. I can see you she whispers. and she can. they are silhouetted in a rectangle of light above her.
and then they are setting up ropes and climbing down toward her. just like she taught them. and it’s kinda beautiful. even if it’s plan m and a glass eye. I think I broke the pretzels.
when she wakes up it’s two weeks later and she’s hooked up to a hospital bed. her left leg is in a cast and her arms are covered in bruises and rope burn. there’s a bandage blocking half her vision.
but then she sees eliot. he’s asleep in a chair next to the bed, his hand wrapped gently around hers and his head resting on hardison’s shoulder. he looks exhausted. his hair is frizzy and he hasn’t shaved. hardison doesn’t look much better. his mouth is open and he’s half snoring. his clothes are dark and rumpled.
she smiles. she’s always enjoyed catching her boys like this—soft and quiet and together. it’s the next best thing to hearing them bicker.
that’s when she sees it. a sparkle of light, almost like a diamond, on the medical cart between them. nestled in a padded velvet box is a glass eye.

So let me get this straight: Hazel after killing all the huntsmen in Mistral and brutalising Oscar for most of v8 (and people dont come with "Ozpin took most of it" its still Oscars body???? Hello????) gets an redemption via death but Ironwood who we know since v2 and was always an ally and a really cool character till v8 dies as a iredemable villain???? How? Why? Its just so dumb... love you blog btw
You know, this reminds me of seeing posts that were like ‘RWDE posters are mad about Ironwood not getting redeemed and yet they don’t like Hazel or Emerald being redeemed???’ And just... Yes, Kathy, the two are incredibly different.
Ironwood has been a hero for seasons who has displayed flaws and made mistakes but was not ever treated as a possible future villain by the narrative, and he was treated as pure evil before he tried to do anything more evil than ‘saving the people he can since he can’t save everyone,’ but then started getting pushed into the maniacal heartless abuser villain role at lightspeed within one season + one episode of the show and (I cannot stress this enough) two or three days of in show time. Our main characters treated him like a monster without knowing about the more villainous actions for the better part of the season, without any of them wondering if there was some mistake, no sympathy given to the fact that Ironwood had his back against the wall or was suffering from mental strain or a horrible injury, no recognition of anything that the mains did badly that maybe contributed to the situation they were in. His ‘fall to villainy’ was outlandish, over the top, out of character, and lacking in any real emotional depth, they blamed him for all of Mantle’s problems despite him having done his very best to ‘go for both’ and Jacques Schnee and Watts being the actual ones responsible for the state of Mantle - as well as huge systemic issues that Jacques was purposefully trying to preserve. He then was (most likely) killed off by the writers who then laugh at how it was ‘always planned’ while no single person in the group of protagonists gives a care.
And on the flipside, you have Emerald and Hazel! Both of them spent seasons being three times worse than James at his worst (seriously, he at least had good intentions.) Emerald and Ironwood’s direct kill count is the same (one,) and Emerald contributed to the deaths of hundreds more at the Fall of Beacon, knowing what it would lead to, and only gives small, rare indications that she feels remorse for it (it’s almost sad.) And Hazel is hinted at being responsible for many of the deaths in Haven and spent his time blaming Ozpin for the fact he was actively trying to murder children. Both of them continued their villainy right up until the very season they got redeemed as they both continued working with Salem to bring down yet another kingdom and while Hazel was beating a fifteen year old, Emerald was eagerly volunteering to help Cinder try and murder Penny yet again. And then when it was revealed that Salem wanted to destroy everything including them, they turned out of self preservation without apologizing for their terrible, harmful, murderous actions. And then the narrative acts like Hazel was some martyr who taught Oscar a valuable lesson about not letting anyone else die and isn’t it sad he died before he could do the bare minimum to earn any sort of redemption. And Emerald winds up having friendly laughs and getting endearingly teased by the people she’s arguably hurt the most, with the girl she’d murdered right there laughing with them. And now she can get away with now being part of the group without any indication she’s changed, no apology, anyone that protests her involvement being scolded for their lack of trust...
One of these things is an incredibly badly handled hero-to-villain story, where they failed to get the beats of emotional depth for a fallen hero arc and rushed it instead without care, leaving it feeling out of character and out of the blue despite the small bit of groundwork that they had in place for the narrative.
The other two are incredibly badly handled villain-to-hero stories, where they failed to get the beats of emotional depth for good redemption arcs and rushed them instead without care, leaving them feeling very insincere and out of the blue despite the small bit of groundwork that they had in place for the narratives (mostly on Emerald’s side, Hazel gave less indication.)
Also we weren’t playing Yankee Swap, we didn’t trade in James as a hero for Emerald or Hazel, we just had three characters who were all handled badly.
But yeah, it’s really weird that the same volume where the writers were trying to force us to sympathize with Hazel was also trying to force Ironwood into an irredeemable category. The thing is, if I didn’t know about James’ never-mentioned-in-show semblance, I’d not be down for a post volume 8 redemption because I think trying to kill children and actively wanting to torture people as a full grown adult is kind of hard to get redeemed from. But Hazel did that, Hazel is just as if not MUCH MORE evil than Ironwood, so why on earth did the series treat Hazel as redeemable and kind of right and just needing a hand of mercy extended to him? Why was James ‘keep soldiers off the battlefield, turn my gun around because I don’t want to hurt Qrow even though I think he’s trying to murder me, look away from the Grimm while I shoot it’ Ironwood treated as the 100% deserving of pain and death and treated as totally irredeemable villain no one could sympathize with?
When you factor in his semblance it really just makes even less sense. I literally cannot comprehend why the RWBY writers do what they do. Also, thank you so much for the compliment on my bog! Sorry to kind of rant there haha. XD

Summer of Whump Day 7 [Storms/Sunburns]
Tumblr media
Okay so we’re just gonna be a day behind alright everyone? Anyways have a longer fic to compensate.
Ω
Omega smiled as she watched Pillow walk around her room with her doll perched on his back. The salamander had, for the past three weeks, stayed by her side, keeping her company while she recovered. His presence was a welcome one, seeing how tense the ship had become. Something had offset the usual harmony of their group, but no one would tell Omega what. Whenever she asked someone, they’d just give her a smile that she could tell was fake and told her “not to worry about it”.
From her little tucked away corner, she could observe the ship’s other occupants. Echo and Tech were doing what they had been doing ever since they had gotten on the ship, which was just barely tolerating each other’s existence. The two squadmates stayed as far away as possible from each other, which made it difficult to do group activities. Before the ‘something’ had happened, she’d used to help them make (mostly) edible meals every third night. She’d enjoyed learning about the chemistry of cooking and how different flavors went together. It had been her bonding time with them, and she missed it.
Hunter was cleaning his blaster and Wrecker was, to her concern, sleeping again. He’d been doing that a lot recently, and it bothered her to think that he was in pain for most of the day. She herself wasn’t feeling too great, nearly dying from a landslide did that to you, but she couldn’t imagine feeling like this all the time. How he managed to still smile at her, she’d never know. She wished that she could help him somehow.
A light bulb went off over her head, and she reached towards a small pile of datapads that she was always trying to add to. There was a datapad about the local wildlife and plants on the planet that they were on in the pile somewhere. Tech had given it to her when they had been staying in the medical centre, the two of them bored out of their minds. Shuffling through the pile, she easily plucked out the one she wanted. Patting the space beside her, she began to scroll through the information on Scarif’s plant life. Pillow waddled over to her side, his head leaning on her knee. He’d grown in size a bit, but not enough to where it was really noticeable. She only noticed it because Pillow spent most of his time with her.
“There! That’s what we need, Pillow.” She said, showing her companion the image she was looking at. It was a bright yellow flower with purple-tipped petals. The description said that it was often used to treat migraines.
“Come on Pillow, let’s go see if we can find some of these flowers. It’ll help Wrecker feel better, and, between you and me?” She leaned down and whispered to the amphibian. “I’m getting really tired of being in the same ship as everyone else right now.”
Pillow huffed in agreement and crawled onto her shoulders, draping himself around her neck like an exotic feather boa. Making no effort to conceal her leaving but also not drawing attention to herself, Omega made her way to the ship’s exit. Her leg wasn’t exactly pleased with the movement, but she put aside her discomfort. Checking the datapad for the general location of the flowers, she and Pillow set off into the tropical forest.
  Meanwhile, inside the Havoc Marauder…
Tech rubbed at his eyes, tired of reading through an endless slog of rumors and unfounded reports of Jedi sightings. His efforts had not gone completely unrewarded, as multiple sources had cautiously whispered about a Jedi having been glimpsed on a distant moon. Selrahc Eluos, that is what they said her name was. It wasn’t much, but they would be unlikely to find much else.
“Hunter,” He called, getting the brooding clone’s attention, “I may have found something.”
Hunter didn’t look too pleased with Tech’s announcement but came over anyways.
“There have been reports of a Jedi hiding out on a remote moon called Una Vere. Of course, seeing as how these reports exist, she wont be there long.” He explained, turning in his seat to look at Hunter.
“Hmm. How long will it take us to get there?” He half muttered the question.
“About a day at lightspeed. We’ll need to leave right away.” Tech stood and began to input the coordinates.
“Are you at least going to tell her?”
Echo’s voice caused the two clones to pause. Their squadmate was leaning against the doorway, his arms crossed in displeasure.
“We don’t even know if the Jedi will still be there when we arrive, and I don’t want to upset her before I absolutely have to.” Hunter replied.
“You coward. You’re not even going to give her the chance to voice her opinion on this?” Echo’s voice was venomous, and Hunter knew that he had tread carefully here, lest another fight break out.
“Echo, this is for her own good. She’ll be happier with someone who can help her with her Force abilities.” He said, his voice gentle.
“The abilities that we don’t even know she has?” Echo countered.
“Oh, open your eyes Echo! It’s obvious she’s not a normal clone.” Tech snapped.
“We’re not normal clones!” Echo shouted back.
“You know what I mean! She doesn’t belong with us!”
“Yeah? Well I’m starting to think that I don’t belong with you either!”
 “Maybe you don’t!”
“ENOUGH!” Hunter’s yell was thunderous. “I am sick and tired of you two arguing!”
“Well you know what? I think I’m sick and tired of you. Both of you. Give me a call when you’ve figured out how to stop being such a moronic, child-abandoning nerf herders!” Echo threw his arms up into the air and stormed out of the ship, growling under his breath.
A soft crunch made him pause and look down. There were… picked flowers on the ground? He recognized them; they grew on vines nearby and could be used to help treat headaches and migraines. How had they gotten here?
 Wait…
He scanned around the ground, terror welling up in him when he spotted small footprints around the ship’s exit. He ran back into the ship, ignoring Hunter and Tech’s confused yells. He made his way up to Omega’s room, hoping that, for once, things would go right for them.
The small space was empty, no sign of Omega or Pillow being there at all.
“Kriff!” He yelled, sprinting as best he can on his still healing leg back the way he had came. Before he can make it, however, Hunter catches his prosthetic arm.
“What’s wrong?” He might be angry, but his brotherly instincts stamp down the smoldering emotion for the time being.
“Omega’s not here. I think she heard us arguing.” He says as he pulls away. His anger hasn’t been calmed, and it mixes easily into his worry.
Hunter goes pale. “Shit.” He curses, stepping back as Echo disappears from sight.
 “Mnh, wha’s goin’ on?”
Wrecker rubs his eyes as he half sits up in his bunk. He looks to Hunter for answers.
“We were having an argument about, well, you know what, and it seems like Omega came around when we were exploding at each other, and now she’s gone.” Hunter explained as he started to get his gear on.
“Oh no!” Hunter’s words woke Wrecker right up, and the burly man joined Hunter in getting into his armor.
“What’s going on? Why are you getting your armor on?” Tech appeared in the doorway, his cheeks still flush from the argument.
“Omega heard us arguing and ran off. Echo’s going after her, but I don’t want him re-injuring his leg. He’s mad, and that means he wont be thinking straight.” Hunter said, putting his helmet on.
“Oh Maker.” Tech said, covering his mouth with a hand. In an instant, his hateful words hit him in the face like a blaster bolt. He hadn’t meant anything that he’d said, he’d just wanted to hurt Echo, which made him feel like the lowliest scum.
Grabbing his own armor, he made a mental promise to apologize to Echo. Actually, he’d need to apologize to Omega too, considering the fact that what he had said, out of context, could be and likely had been taken entirely the wrong way. Thinking about the argument made his chest hurt and his stomach twist, but he didn’t try and find some way to resolve himself of guilt. The feelings were everything he deserved.
Pillow stared sadly as Warm One cried, her face streaming with tears as she ran. He didn’t blame her for crying, the words she had heard would bring any fledgling to tears. The other members of her pack had been steadily growing more and more tense and angry, especially Shiny Eyes and Grey Arm. Ever since Warm One and Shiny Eyes had recovered from their accident, the air had become sour with displeasure, sadness, anger, and building resentment. It was not a good environment for someone like Warm One, and he had wanted nothing more than to take her out of their flying metal den. Today, he’d gotten his wish, but at a terrible price.
The adult humans had said terrible things! They were going to leave Warm One all alone! They were supposed to protect her, not abandon her! She had seen them as family, and until now, he’d thought they felt the same. Clearly, he’d been wrong. Well, perhaps not about all of them. Grey Arm had been very loud when he had been yelling at Half Skull and Shiny Eyes; he had wanted Warm One to stay. He wasn’t sure about Strong One, the human’s thoughts and feelings were often muddled by pain, but he hadn’t argued like Grey Arm had, so he certainly wasn’t in Pillow’s good graces.
Pillow felt a pressure begin to build up inside his chest. A storm was coming. Normally, he’d be overjoyed at the prospect of rain; it had been so long since he’d experienced a good rainstorm, but Warm One had nothing to protect her from the rain and wind, which meant that they had a problem.
He felt a flash of frustration run through his small body. Before his imprisonment on that barren, icy wasteland, he had possessed a beautiful, strong pair of wings. If he had them now, he could shield Warm One from the storm. Force, he could carry her above it, show her the world the way he had once seen it. He resented his captors for chaining him up and leaving him on that damnable planet to die, but he also understood why they did. He had not been a kind creature, and the names people had given him were accurate. The Great Sky Scourge, The White Beast, Death’s Shadow. All fitting. All horrible.
But Warm One had never seen him as any of those things. She had given him a new name, Pillow, the human word for a squishy, soft, white thing that they slept on. He felt honored to be given such a name, because to him, it was a chance to start over. He’d been weakened by the lack of food, reduced to his larval state once again, but now that he had her, he’d have the chance to regain his former glory and use it to do good. They’d do it together. If her pack was too stupid to see her Light, he’d take care of her, just as she had taken care of him.
All he had to do was wait until it was time to metamorphosize. And, of course, keep both her and himself safe from this storm.
Suddenly, he was no longer around her neck. He landed in the mud, sliding a few feet away. Once he’d blinked away the mud, he realized that Warm One had tripped! He called out to her, running as fast as he could back to her as raindrops began to fall around them. He nudged her, helping her up. He missed the once incredible strength he used to have.
Warm One picked him up as she stood, her face turning red where she had hit the ground. Her eyes were red, and tears still dripped down her face. He crooned sadly, trying to send comforting feelings over their bond. She had created the bond without meaning too on the day they met, and while he didn’t like being able to feel her pain, it was useful in moments like these.
“Oh Pillow, wh-why don’t they want me? What did I-I do wrong?” She cried, hugging him to her chest. “I-I thought- I loved-” She sobbed even harder, not being able to finish her sentence.
“No!” He cried, nuzzling her. “It’s not you! They are being stupid! The most stupid!”
She didn’t understand him, of course, but she felt his feelings, and that was enough to get him a brief, watery smile. She sniffed and looked around, unsure of where to go. She considered following the path, but ultimately decided to go off into the tropical brush. Pillow wound himself around her neck again, keeping an eye out for any danger. The rain was growing stronger, and they’d need shelter soon.
After about 20 minutes of running and stumbling, Warm One spotted a cave on the face of a cliff. She managed to get them up there, collapsing once they were inside. Pillow shook off the water that clung to his skin before returning to Warm One. She was wet and kind of cold, but not like she had been when they had still been on his planetary prison. If he kept her warm, she’d be okay.
She was leaning against the wall, curling up into a small ball. He wiggled his way into her lap and buried into her stomach, purring softly. He remembered his mother purring to settle him and his clutchmates, so he figured it was worth a shot.
She laughed quietly, and he felt amusement cross the bond. He smiles at that, settling down to sleep.
Omega slowly opened her eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them. She went to stretch, but found herself spinning. With a yelp, she waved her arms about, trying to right herself. Her surroundings had changed completely. What had previously been a damp cave was now a void of neutral blues and purples. Occasionally, she would see a flicker of light appear.
 “You’re here!”
A voice suddenly rang out from all around her, sounding like every voice ever spoken and at the same time, only one person. Omega shrunk back in fear, unable to tell where the voice was coming from.
“Oh, don’t be frightened! I’m just so excited to finally be able to talk to one of my children!” The voice said, almost sounding sheepish.
“Who- who are you? Where are you?” Omega squeaked.
“I am known as the Force, little star. I am everywhere.” The voice explained.
“You’re… what?” Omega held her head, the information making her brain hurt.
“I know its a lot, and I wouldn’t usually be this direct, but I haven’t gotten the chance to truly talk to one of my children in so long! Even my brightest star could only feel my presence, and he has become so dim lately…” The Force sounded… sad.
“Your brightest star?” Omega asked, crossing her legs.
“Yes. I created him from stardust, love, and the wildness of nature itself. He was wonderful, and he would have saved them all, but he was taught to suppress his feelings and push down his troubles. He loved so strongly, at that made it hard for him to let go. In the end, a poison in human form snuffed out his Light, throwing him into the Dark.” The formless presence became somber, and Omega could feel its sadness.
“But you,” It said suddenly, the sadness being replaced with cautious hope, “I can still save you. I did not create you, that wonderful honor was taken from me, but I can see your Light, little star. It is new and bright and shining, just as his was long ago. What’s better, I can truly, wholly speak to you, even if it’s just in dreamstate.”
“I don’t understand. I’m not a Jedi, so why are you interested in me?” Omega asked.
“Jedi is a recent concept, at least to me. Sith is the same. They are often people who have gone too far into the Light or the Dark, and have become blind to the Balance. Any living thing can have a strong connection with me. It just so happens that you were created with that exact purpose.” The Force explained.
“What does that mean? What can I do?” Omega questioned, not sure how to process this.
“That depends on you, little star. Many of my children use their abilities to help people, heal them, or create bonds that will last a lifetime and beyond. However, you can also use it to harm others, to defend yourself and your loved ones, or simply hurt them because you want to. That path is a slippery slope, however, and I must ask that you be careful with how you use your anger.” The Force’s voice was soft, but held a note of warning.
“I will be, I promise.” Omega said, not wanting to do something that could really hurt someone.
“Don’t fear your anger, my wondrous child. Sometimes, anger is necessary. Control is the key.” The Force explained, and Omega nodded.
“Okay, okay I think I understand a bit now.” She said, rubbing the back of her neck. “Um, if I’ve always been able to communicate with you, why did you only just start talking to me now?”
“The stress of your life recently has been keeping you closed off from me. Today, your mental walls broke.”
“Oh.” Omega felt her heart sink at the thought of what had happened earlier. She’d just come back from collecting the flowers, which had actually been quite close by, only to hear shouting coming from within the ship. She’d heard Tech  angrily say that she didn’t belong with them, but not much else beyond that, as she had turned and ran almost immediately.
“You believe that they hate you.” It wasn’t a question, but Omega nodded anyways.
“I can understand why, but you have it all wrong, little star. They love you. They love you so much that I don’t even believe my most Darkness-blinded children could tear you away from them.”
Omega blinked away tears that had begun to form, her confusion nearly palpable.
“They have figured out that you have a connection to me. Some of them believe that you would be better off under the care of a Jedi. They worry that they will not be good enough for you.” Omega feels a ripple of annoyance go through her, although it is not her own. “Sometimes my children can be a bit ignorant, and because they do not share a connection like we do, I cannot tell them this. The Jedi ruined my brightest star, my Anakin. They seek peace and order, but life is not meant to be peaceful or controlled. Life is chaos, wild and free. That is what many of my children fail to understand. To walk the path of the Jedi is to practically shun life itself, and the Sith are even worse. They actively destroy life, disrupting the balance. I want you as far away from that mess as possible.”
“So, they do want me? I didn’t do anything wrong?” Omega questioned.
“No, starlight. You’ve made their lives better. I can feel their worry for you right now, they are terrified to lose you.” The Force then began to expand, and suddenly Omega was struck with wave after wave of worry and grief. She bared her teeth in sympathy.
“I know that they care for you, but they must learn that they are your chosen family. Not the Jedi, not another family, them. Until they fall asleep, let them worry. Let them experience what life will be like if they break the still fragile bond that you all share. I will find a way to make a connection with them.”
Omega wasn’t sure she liked that plan. “I don’t want them to suffer, and I don’t want to be apart from them! Isn’t there something else we could do?”
The Force seemed to consider her request. “Perhaps, but you will have to find a way to convince them that this is my will.”
Omega put a hand on her chin, thinking. “Can you control the weather?”
“I have some sway over certain aspects.”
 “Okay, I’ve got an idea…”
     “OMEGA!”
Echo’s throat felt raw, the muscles sore from him screaming to be heard over the roaring storm winds. He ignored the pain. He had to find her.
 “OMEGA, WHERE ARE YOU?!”
 “Echo?”
Echo fixed his expression into a glare as he turned. The other members of the Bad Batch emerged from the storm-darkened jungle, their armor slick with rain.
“What are you lot doing out here?” He snapped.
“Looking for you and Omega. Echo, you’re hurt. Go back to the ship.” It was Hunter who spoke first. Echo, still hurt from earlier, looked disdainfully at the other man.
“No. I’m finding Omega, and I’m not going anywhere until I know she’s safe. Now get out of here before you scare her off again.” He said coldly, wincing as he put weight on his injured leg.
“Echo, please. You can’t stay out here, you’ll get sick.” Tech said, stepping forward.
“Like you care! You made your feelings perfectly clear back there.” Echo turned away from the group, his eyes becoming a bit wet as his hurt feelings threatened to spill out. “We’re not batchmates. You don’t have to pretend to like me. Once I find Omega, you’ll never have to see me again.”
“Echo, no!” Tech’s voice hitched in panic. “You’re my brother, batchmate or not, I still love you! I’m so sorry for the things I said earlier. I was angry and I knew they would hurt and I said them anyways because I was being an inconsiderate jackass. I don’t expect you to forgive me, but please don’t make me watch another one of my brothers die. We’ve lost so many already, and we’re going to loose so many more, but I don’t think I could handle it if you were one of them.”
Tears pooled in Tech’s eyes underneath his helmet, and his heart strained to cope with the stress his wild emotions were causing. Echo was still for a minute, then slowly turned around, his eyes wide, but free of anger.
“Y’mean it?” His voice was quiet and small, and it reminded Tech so much of the nights they’d spent comforting Hunter and Crosshair when they were much younger. Their enhanced traits made the darkness of the room scary sometimes, and despite the fact that he was the youngest of his batch, he’d been comforting them right alongside Wrecker.
Tech nodded, and in the moment he had been temporarily blinded by a flash of lightning, Echo had crossed the distance and pulled Tech into a hug. Tech froze up for a split second, before wrapping his arms around Echo. Hunter and Wrecker were there in an instant, joining in on the moment of affection.
“’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have yelled at you an’ Hunter.” Echo mumbled.
“No, we were being stupid and sneaky about things. I already knew how miserable that made her, and yet I wanted to send her away anyways. We all want what’s best for Omega, but leaving her with someone else isn’t an idea I should have entertained.” Tech replied.
“Thank the Maker! I thought I was actually going to have to do go with its plan.”
The Bad Batch members separated and turned towards the forest beside them. Omega stepped out of the brush, an agitated Pillow sitting on her rain-soaked head. The amphibian seemed to be displeased by their very existence. She smiled weakly.
“Omega!” The group shouted happily. The young girl rushed into Echo’s waiting arms, pressing her head into his chest. She shivered as powerful emotions welled up inside her, her still red eyes becoming wet again.
“Oh adiik, vi're olar. Vi're olar.” Echo’s voice was full of relief and warmth and comfort,  and even if Omega couldn’t really understand what his words meant, she felt their soothing nature.
“Omega, I’m so, so sorry for what I said earlier. We never wanted to leave you, we just-” Omega managed to get a hand free and waved Tech off.
“You wanted to take me to a Jedi so that I could learn to use the Force, I know.” She said, smiling at him. “I know you worry about me, but please don’t ever think that I’ll be better of anywhere besides with all of you. I love you guys.”
Tech blinked, stunned. The other clones shared his confusion and his surprise.
“W-we love you too, and we’re sorry we didn’t tell you that before, but how did you know about the Jedi?” Hunter asked, kneeling down to be eye level with Omega. He resisted the urge to pull her into a protective hug when he saw her shiver.
“I’ll show you! Here, hold Pillow. Careful, though. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t forgiven you yet.” Omega said, handing the amphibian over. Pillow growled at Hunter, baring his teeth.
“Okay, watch this.” She said, cupping her hands around her mouth. “HEY FORCE! STRIKE TWO TREES WITH LIGHTNING IF WE JUST HAD A DREAM CONVERSATION!”
In an instant, two trees on either side of Omega were set ablaze by twin bolts of lightning. Hunter grabbed Omega on instinct and pulled her away from the burning plants, the rest of his brothers backing up rapidly.
“Woah!” Wrecker shouted, his hands flying up into the air.
Echo stared awestruck at the trees, then at a grinning Omega.
“What the hell was that?” He asked.
“The Force! Turns out I can talk to it.” She explained.
“You spoke with… the Force?” Hunter said slowly. “Like, the Force that the Jedi use?”
“Yep! It was really happy to have someone to talk to.” Omega chirped.
“Okay. Okay, okay, okay, okay. That’s normal. That’s completely normal and totally not something that makes me really wish general Kenobi was here.” Echo said, pressing his hands together. “The Force can talk to you, and you can talk to it. Cool. Cool.”
“It wanted me to stay hidden for a bit because I think it’s mad at the Jedi for something and it wanted to talk to you guys when you fell asleep, but I thought that was really mean, so I asked if we could do something else to convince you not to bring me to a Jedi. But you didn’t even need to be convinced!” Omega added, shivering again. This time, Hunter did bring her against his chest as he stood, Pillow making his way onto Omega’s neck.
“I’m glad we worked things out. I don’t like the idea of leaving you out here until we fell asleep.” Wrecker said, his face becoming illuminated by another flash of lightning.
“Yeah, I think I would’a had some choice words for the Force if you’d gone through with that plan.” Echo agreed, rubbing his arms.
“We can talk about the Force being an less than agreeable later. Right now we have two very wet and very cold-looking squadmates who are going to catch their deaths out here.” Tech fretted, ushering the group back towards the ship. The clones laughed and began walking back through the storm, their hearts much lighter and their hope as high as ever.

————
“Hello, sister.”
“Armitage” you deadpan, avoiding the shocked stares coming from your crew.
“Should’ve known you would be among the scum.” He smirks. “Well fun is over I’m afraid, it’s time I take you home.”
You step forward and speak bluntly, “no.”
“No?” Armitage looks at the crowd and frowns, “You have no one here, you’re alone. Come home with me sister. Where you belong. Snoke is anxious to meet you.”
“No.”
His jaw tightens, but continues to remain his collected, poised self. “The resistance doesn’t promise your survival. You do know you’ll die once you provide what you possess.” He steps up making Ben move closer to you protectively. “But not with us. After we take what we need you’ll be free to go and live your life. Free from the order...I’ll even go with you. Isn’t that what you want?”
A moment of hesitation hits you at his words, he knew exactly what to say to pull the strings of your heart, to convince you. But even if what he said sounded promising, you couldn’t believe him. As much as it hurt. You needed and were going to do the right thing. “I’m sorry Armitage, but I don’t trust you...I’m not going with you.”
Armitage sighs loudly and takes a step towards you, “Amara is dead. Who do you have here? No one, you’re alone. But not if you come back with me. You’re my sister. My responsibility.”
You swallow thickly and lower your gaze, your decision not changing. “I’m doing the right thing for the galaxy and me. I’m not going back.”
Armitage exhales deeply, a scowl replacing the expressionless demeanor on his features as he decided that he was done asking. “Take her and the traitor.”
The Stormtroopers don’t hesitate to listen to their master and march directly towards you and Finn. A mission that came to a quick end as Ben completely stepped in front of you with his lightsaber activated.
“Always protected, sister.” Armitage sighed, “mother, Amara and now this fool. That’s why you’ve always been weak, why you’re a coward.”
Tears pool in your eyes as you’re left speechless. He’s always been like this, you should've known that nothing he said before was sincere.
“Just leave her alone.” Poe defended you, instantly making you look over at him in shock. “You heard her, she doesn’t want to go with you. Leave while you still can.”
Armitage smirked mischievously, his eyes falling on Poe’s, “and the list keeps growing.”
The tears that stung your eyes finally rolled down your cheek. You knew that what he was going to say was going to be anything but nice, especially after you rejected his offer, but the words still hurt. Like the first time he said them to you. It left you speechless and unable to defend yourself—like always—maybe what he said was right.
Before you even had the chance to respond or act on the problem some of the stormtroopers continue to move towards you. Until they were all suddenly flung back. A small gasp escaping your lips at the action, Poe and the rest of your crew seeming to share your same response at the sudden action. All except for Ben.
Armitage looked back at the troopers and then at Ben, his eyes expressing surprise and fear. It made you smile, something that didn’t last as the troopers got back up and got ready to shoot their attacker—the thought to help out Ben take out the stormtroopers crossed your mind, but the guilt and knowing they were human under those uniforms made you quickly brush away your thought.
Leaving you to watch as Ben single handily took out the troopers without moving from his spot, watching as Armitage was lifted from the ground and his hands reached to grab the invisible hold around his throat. A look of horror expressed on your features.
“Ben.” You quickly called out. “Stop.”
Everything stayed the same, expect now Armitage tried to gasp for the little air he could get in his lungs. His eyes desperately glancing at you to make Ben stop.
“Ben, stop!” You bellowed while trying to pull back the hand Ben had extended out to do said violent action. “Leave him alone!”
“I don’t want to see you or any of your stormtroopers after us again. You understand?” Ben told Armitage in an unrecognizable voice.
“Ben!”
Said man glanced at you for a brief moment and then let Armitage drop to the ground. The ginger looking unkept as he gasped for air, not responding but simply ignoring Ben altogether.
“What’s your problem?” You hissed at Ben. Receiving nothing but a glare as a response, his attention quickly stolen by the Falcon flying in.
Before you disappeared into the old ship, you gave Armitage one last glance and frowned, his words not letting you feel bad for what had happened. “That’s why you got bit and why Amara died. Because you’re weak!”
You swallowed thickly and looked away, an ominous black ship parked in the distance catching your eye before the ramp closed.
——
It was closer now. The time you had left was coming to an end. And knowing that didn’t help the pit you felt in your stomach, didn’t help the nerves that were eating you alive. The scary part wasn’t that you were going to give the galaxy a new hope, it was the not getting to live a life what messed with your head. There had to be more out there than just violence and flesh-eating monsters right?
But then again maybe this was Karma for what you were born into. A feared Order that wants nothing but destruction. Dying this way was just Karma paying back.
“I did it for you, Poe. Because I knew that if you found out you wouldn’t report it.”
Okay. First, yes, you tried not to eavesdrop onto Poe’s and Zorii’s argument, but avoiding their argument was hard, especially when they argued so close. And especially when the argument had to do with you...sorta. So, yes there was no choice but to discreetly listen in while Finn and you pretended to be busy with something else.
“Because it isn’t your news to tell, Zorii. Why don’t you understand that? You had to tell me first! Not just go run your mouth for some credits.”
Zorii glared at Poe, her demeanor not faltering for a single minute. A trait you admired about her. She wasn’t easy to put down or scare. She was head-strong and confident. Immediate comebacks that were thrown at her.
If only you could be like her.
“Why don’t you understand I did it for us? So I had enough money to get a different ship and leave together. Don’t you want that?
Poe put his hands on his hips and sighed, his shoulders dropping as he tried to be more understanding and calm. “I’ve told you already that I can’t leave this fight. I know you prefer to go rogue, but I can’t and won’t. I’m sorry.”
Zorii took a moment to respond, the now cold tone in her voice making what she was meaning and how she felt obvious. “So, then I guess this is it.”
Before either Finn or you could hear what Poe had to respond, multiple red lights went off in the Falcon, said ship shaking violently before it quickly began to fall into the planet. Forcing you to grab onto the table in front of you for stability, repeatedly hoping that a simple crash wasn’t going to take you out. Not when you were close to your destination.
Right as you were going to try and complain to Ben, the ship came to a sudden stop. The two pilots guilty of making said destruction rushed out of the cockpit and rushed outside. And of course the rest of the crew and you followed after them, your lips immediately parting at the sight of the Falcon on fire.
“It’s on fire.” Poe panicked, “all of it is on fire.”
“Really, Dameron? I wouldn’t have guessed it if you hadn’t so obviously pointed it out.” Ben retorted sarcastically.
Poe cocked his head to the side and glared at the tall dark haired man. “You know, complain all you want about Y/N lightspeed skipping the Falcon, at least she didn’t set it on fire like you and Rey.”
Your eyes widen at Poe’s comeback, instantly getting the feeling to laugh, but having to hold it back as you noticed Ben’s death glare.
Ignoring him however you dared to make a comment. “That’s right. Because I’m the best pilot.”
Poe glanced at you with a sly grin, “that’s still up for debate.”
You turn and shrug, “eh, no, you’ve said it yourself. At least I didn’t burn the ship.”
“That—”
“We don’t have time, let’s extinguish this fire and fix the ship. We’re almost at base.” Ben interrupted. “We can’t lose focus now.”
——
“We’re right here. Texas.” Ben pointed on the map, “my mother’s base is up here, in this state called Oregon. We can make it. It isn’t far.”
Rey shook her head and backed away from the table, her arms crossed on her chest and a perplexed look on her face. “We won’t. Unless you want us to die from an explosion the moment we start this ship. Plus we’re very low on fuel and we don’t have the parts. We have to go on foot.”
Great. The problems just keep piling on.
“No.” Poe added, “we’ll never make it on foot. It will take us months. We have to get something to travel on.”
“Whatever we use also needs fuel. We don’t have that remember?” Ben remarked.
“Then we collect it. People always leave stuff unchecked.” You speak up, making all eyes fall on you.
“She’s right.” Finn adds, “there's another camp not far from here that’s allied with the resistance. Admiral Haldo is in charge. We just collect enough to make it there and get what we need to make it to the base camp.”
“Sounds like a plan. But how do we get our mode of transportation?” Poe asks. “I can go search for something.”
Ben parts his lips to say something but Rey beats him to it. “It’s dark out. It’s too dangerous now but you can at first light.”
Poe nods, his eyes finding you next to Ben, “y/n, do you want to come? I need someone to watch my back.”
Wait, what?
Your eyes part away from the map to land on Poe, feeling surprised that he would ask you first, instead of...I don’t know, Finn, or Zorii. He was your friend, yes, but he barely knew you. Why would he ask you first?
Regardless and desperately wanting out you accept before Ben also had anything to say against it.“Yeah, sure.” You grin, immediately feeling Ben glare daggers at you. And as you heard him open his mouth you cut him off. “I’m going to start a fire.”
——
“Excuse me, but who gave you permission to go risk your life with Dameron?” Ben argued as he stormed after you.
You scoff but don’t stop or turn, “myself. You’re not my father or anyone to be giving me orders. I can take care of myself.”
“Really? Because lately you’ve proven otherwise.”
“Look—”
“Shut up.” Ben rudely interrupts, prompting you to spin back and glare at him.
“Excuse me?!”
“Shut up, I hear something.”
In a swift motion you turn towards the direction of the noise and pull out your Vibroblade, breaking it apart and turning it into twin blades. The rustling got louder the closer it got.
You try and search for red eyes in between the darkness but nothing shines, the noise only gets closer. Ben tries to pull you back, but you rip your arm away from his grasp, inching closer and closer until out of the darkness the creature you had heard jumps out. Revealing nothing but a cute animal.
“Aww, Ben were you scared of a cute little animal?” You tease as you turn to face him with a cocky grin. “Don’t worry I don’t think that cute little deer can eat you. If it tries I’ll keep you safe, don’t worry.”
Ben just shoots you glare before he huffs away.
——
“Ok, craziest thing you’ve done before, doesn't matter if it was before or after the outbreak.” Poe explains as he shoves a piece of cooked meat into his mouth and points his finger directly at you. “You, y/n, go.”
“Really? pick the new member, cheap move.” You sigh but continue, hugging yourself tighter as a cold breeze hit you, “uhmm, well I guess it would have to be lightspeed skipping the Falcon.”
Rey looks up at you, her narrowed gaze basked by the fire. “That was not crazy, that was a stupid move. You could’ve killed us all.”
“Did you die?” You shot back.
Rey’s lips part, your comeback catching her by surprise and causing her to fumble for a brief moment. “Don’t do it again.”
Will there even be a next time?
“Well I for one thought it was a pretty awesome move.” Zorii defends you, making you smile shyly.
“Thank you.” You then glance at Ben and direct your comment at him, “at least someone here appreciates what I did.”
“Hey, what about me? I was the first one to compliment you on that.” Poe interjected.
You blink to meet his gaze across the fire, a half smile on your lips and a heat creeping on your cheeks at his comment. (Or was that the heat from the fire?) “Yeah, I guess you did.” You joke before tearing your gaze away when you felt Zorii look between Poe and you.
“Well, I have some crazy story I haven’t told yet.” Poe begins enthusiastically, making everyone around him groan in annoyance.
Finn leans in and whispers in your ear about the subject at hand, “he’s full of shit. Half of the stuff he tells isn’t even true. He’s just trying to impress everyone.”
You slide your eyes to the side to meet Finn’s gaze, the both of you beginning to snicker as the pilot begins his story—regardless of Finn’s warning, you got hooked and listen to every word Poe said about his dreadnought story, the whole vibe that was happening right now, reminding you when your sister would tell her stories to passing people that would join your group from time to time. Their would be new stories each night, never the same and almost all of them made up.
But as entertaining as Poe’s story was you couldn’t help but glance at Ben, who seemed to be lost in his own head, his eyes glossy and focused on the gold dices he held in between the pads of his fingers. Even if he was rude to some extent, the way he was now, quiet and somewhat relaxed reminded you of your brother Armitage. Him just like Ben had their anger problems that could become excessive sometimes, but in the quiet times they appeared harmless, somewhat nice and approachable. Maybe that’s why Ben was so easy to talk to and get angry at. He reminded you of your brother…..
Ew.
The moment you were going to attempt to talk to Ben solo, you felt someone sit beside you and a place a jacket on your shoulders, the warmth evading the cold you felt before. When you turned your head you noticed that it was, Poe. Said man offering you a warm smile and a witty comment.
“Couldn’t stand your chattering teeth.”
You roll your eyes and smile, “sorry, did it get in the way of your intense storytelling?”
“The person I was trying to impress wasn’t paying attention anymore, so I stopped.”
You snort, “who, Ben? Well sorry to break it to you, but I don’t think he was ever paying attention.”
Poe chuckles and plays along, “wells that’s a shame, told my best story for nothing then.”
“Better luck next time.” You grin.
Right when Poe was going to say something, a tall shadow covered Poe and you, both of you looking up to see no one other then Ben, his glare fixated on Poe. “Y/N, you and me are up for first the lookout shift. Let’s go and leave Dameron alone. He has to wake up early tomorrow, you don’t want him sleeping on the job.”
“Yeah...okay.” You push yourself off the log and offer Poe an apologetic smile, “goodnight, Poe.”
“Good night y/n. Remember first light tomorrow don’t forget.”
You quirk your eyebrow and smirk, “I won’t. Best you not forget though.”
Poe scoffs, “I won’t.”
——
The soft orange hues of the sun rising in the horizon brightens your smile and illuminates the eagerness that plays on your features when you finally spot a car a couple feet away. Hope filling your whole being, not only because you were going to find what you needed so early on into the trip, but it meant that the fear you felt of running into danger with so little backup wouldn’t turn into a real terrifying scenario.
Even the little orange and white droid seemed to be hopeful on your find as he quickly rolled over to said object. An action you didn’t hesitate to follow, making Poe rush to catch up to the both of you in case anything surprised you that neither the droid or you caught in your eager spirit.
But just as everything else, as soon as you reached the red car you came to a disappointing turnout since the battery was missing from within the car. “Stars.” You groan.
Poe sighs behind you, his little droid seeming to copy his sound of disappointment—“Let’s continue down the road, we’ll come across something eventually.”
You nod and continue down the paved road in a surprisingly comforting silence, unaware of the stolen glances Poe would give you. That exact moment going on for a moment longer until you got reminded of something that made you glance at Poe, who was quick to look away as he saw you look his way.
“Oh yeah, I forgot last night,” you begin as you shrug your backpack strap off your shoulder to take his jacket out, “your jacket. Thank you for letting me use it.”
Poe glances at your outstretched hand and what you had to offer, a smile pulling at the corner of his lips as he pushed your hand back towards you. “Keep it. It suits you.”
You meet his gaze and smile, “are you sure?”
“Damn sure.”
Deciding to put the jacket on you add one more thing that had been pestering you all night. “I do want to say, uhm I hope your girlfriend doesn’t get mad that we came here together. I don’t want to cause any problems.”
Poe strokes his beard and responds quite quickly, “no, no it’s fine,” he didn’t know why he had the urge to further explain himself, but he did. “I think Zorii and I have been out of it for a while. Not that I don’t love her because I do, in a more platonic way now, I mean she’s always going to be special. It’s just we both haven’t been like we once were for a long time.” He pauses and sighs, his gaze distant as he chose to continue.
“The only reason why we were together now was not because we had feelings for one another, but because we felt obligated to be together because of our past and the thought that there wasn't going to be anyone else or anything else in the new strange galaxy that is now our reality.” His eyes met yours, the orange hue that basked his face letting you see how brown his eyes were under the sun. It’s something you didn’t want to focus on, but couldn’t help but do as he let out held in words. “We both felt familiar, I guess. We both needed each other in the beginning, but I think now after a while we were both scared to admit that we had moved on...that we both have always wanted different things.”
Turning your gaze towards the path ahead, you hum softly before responding verbally. “I understand...but just know there's nothing wrong with sticking with what’s familiar. It reminds you to keep grounded. Helps you feel calm in chaos.” At least that’s what you felt...before Amara died. She was the only person you had, the only person that helped you in a galaxy full of chaos.
But she was gone now.
“I guess you’re right. But can I give you some advice?”
Once again you meet each other’s gaze, your paces slowing down at the shared moment.
“Go ahead.”
“Don’t be afraid to try what’s new. Adapt with what is now, there's so much to do. I know that it’s all terrifying, but if you don’t try, you won’t live.”
A frown shows on your lips while you blinked to look away for a brief moment as you responded softly, “even with how things are now?”
“Even with how things are now.” Poe confirmed with a assuring smile, “nobody is guaranteed tomorrow, enjoy life, have fun...just like when you lightspeed skipped the Falcon.”
Again you looked over at him, this time holding each other’s gaze for a moment, a shy smile growing on your lips, “thank you.” You look down and hide the fact how hot your cheeks were burning, how your heart seemed to skip a beat at the lingering stare.
The action not going unnoticed however; Poe had seen how flustered you had gotten and couldn’t help his smile from softening, an admiration growing on how different you were from the other girls he'd met throughout his life.
“You welcome.” He muttered.
——
“Fuck, yeah!” Poe exclaimed as he practically jumped off the drivers seat, “it works!”
When you check the car, your smile drops at the only thing missing, “it needs fuel genius. A lot of it, we won’t make it around the corner before it dies on us.”
Poe scoffs and shakes his head, turning away from you to talk to himself, “thank you poe, for finding a working car. Oh no problem, y/n, just in the day's work.”
BB8 and you share a glance at Poe’s ramblings, deciding it's best to let him...be him.
“There's a couple cars alongside the street, I’ll go check if they have what we need.” You point, not waiting for a response to walk down the driveway. The curly headed man following you nonetheless.
“I’ll check the garages while you take out the fuel from cars, okay?” He instructs as he hands you an empty canister. “BB8, watch her back.”
The both of you begin to do your own thing, the objective you had, actually harder than you initially thought. Making Ben come to mind. Mostly his ability to use the force and how it would be much easier if he were here since he could just get the fuel out with his mind or….however he used it.
Then again, if Ben were here, he would most likely let you wait in the car or something that was out of harm's way—At least Poe let you be on your own and do what Ben never would.
So, actually it was good Ben wasn’t here.
“Seems full,” You muse as you shake the canister and hear the liquid swish around inside, a proud smile plastered on your lips. A feeling and gesture that all too quickly vanished at the sound of Poe calling out to you in a panicked cry for help.
“Y/N! Y/N! Help!”
You snapped your head in the direction of his call, jumping to your feet and forgetting the full canister on the ground to run to him faster than you have ever run in your life—when you finally located where you had heard him shout from, you saw a corpse on top of him, teeth snapping inches from Poe’s face. The only reason why he luckily didn’t get bitten at that instant was the hand he had against the corpse's head. And you didn’t know what it was, maybe the positioning Poe was in or the sight and sound of the bloodied corpse, but it was at that moment you were struck by the memory when you were bitten.
Causing violent flashes of the past to hit you, something that caused you to freeze in place, making you let out heavy breaths and causing your lips to part in disbelief. And as much as you tried you couldn’t snap yourself away from the trauma, not until Poe called out to you again.
You whipped out your vibroblade and swung down on the corpse's head, immediately having to react by pulling it out of its head, and breaking apart your singular blade to turn it into twin blades as you heard another corpse running up behind you. Having to use your right hand to swiftly and skillfully turn your blade around so you could manage to swing back and hit the corpse in the chest with a backhand trick. Not hesitating to throw your arm upward and cut the corpse's head in half.
When you saw that the ghost was clear you reconnected your blades together and put them away, turning back around to see Poe still on the ground, his eyes wide and lips parted in amazement. His eyes were the only thing to react as you extended your hand out to him.
He didn’t hesitate when he took your hand, but with his speechless reaction he hardly paid attention to how fast he got up, his chest hitting yours and his face leaving only inches of free space between your, the feeling making you go rigid.
He stood quiet for a moment, his eyes frantically searching yours, as if what he wanted to say was contained inside them.
“Uhh, I—”
“Your brother was wrong.” Poe interrupted.
“What?”
Poe licked his lips and kept close, his hand still holding onto yours as he continued. Each and every word sincere, causing your eyes to water, “you’re not what he said you were. None of it was true. If he saw you now, he would’ve been left impressed, like I was.”
You swallow back thickly, a warm smile growing on your lips before you softly spoke up to seek for assurance on what he said, “you really think so?”
Poe grinned as he held your gaze, “hell yeah.” His eyes slowly drifted down to your lips before he met your gaze again, his face leaning closer, making your heart hammer in your chest.
Right as you were going to close your eyes and be swept by the moment that was going to happen, the same black ship from before appeared in the sky. Not making you pull away completely, but causing you to stop what Poe planned to do.
“Poe.”
“Hmm?”
“Th-there's a ship in the sky. It was in Ajan Kloss when we were leaving too.”
Poe sighed deeply and turned to follow your line of sight, his gaze narrowing on the mysterious ship you only now identified.
“Who the hell is that?”
You gasped and slowly walked out of the garage, “The Knights of Ren.”

A/N- does Poe think of reader as a cute little cinnamon roll? Yes, yes he does.
A/N-Anyway yes earth exists in this universe, I know, I know out all of the planets I could’ve used from the SW universe, but it’s just earth will provide a lot of angst in this series!! One more thing I would like to add that for those who haven’t read the Kylo Ren comics or know much about the knights of Ren, they did exist before Kylo Ren was created, just a little FYI.

Part 5
Series masterlist
————————————
They been flying for a while now, as her father keep flying the falcon, after they take off she went to the main Hall, she keep watching the Dejarik board even if she wasn’t even trying to play, in that moment there was a lot on her mind, first of all there was the possibility that she saw her brother again, she know he always keep his word and he was angry by her betrayal, she bit his nail as she start to think in what he could do, she was so concentrate that she didn’t realize that Finn sit next to her.
-So were going back to them- he said looking at the board -Are you nervous?
-Of course I am... I betrayed my brother and you know what he do to the traitors- Finn nod and they stay quiet for a moment.
-So... I saw the flirting eyes you gave to Poe...
-Really?- she scoff -We’re about to go to a mission maybe confront my brother and that’s what you want to talk about?- he nod.
-Yeah, I want to know all the details.
-There’s no details, he’s a pilot from the resistance and I’m an ex knight of Ren and we almost kill each other a couple of times...
-But you still had his jacket and I saw the way he smiled at you and the way you smile back.
-Ok I’ll admit he’s kind of cute but maybe his just been nice because he found out who’s my mother- but By the way he was looking at her she knew he didn’t believe it.
-I think he likes you...
-And you think that... because?
-He asked me about you- she look at him curious -he asked me what do you said if he asked you out...
-What? When does this happen?
-When we get to the base.
-And you didn’t tell me anything? What did you said...- She stop when she saw him smiling -you’re joking right?- he chuckles.
-Not exactly, he asked me about you and if you had someone but I’m pretty sure he’s going to asked you out- she roll her eyes -and by the way you react I said you’re going to say yes- he wink his eye before he walk to the cockpit.
She stay in her place for a couple of minutes, she keep thinking on what Finn told her, if she be honest she never thought about a life where she could fall in love with someone, she always thought that she’s stay beside her brother and rule the world together but now she didn’t know what she suppose to do, she thought that her father’s offers where the best option, one part of her didn’t want to had anything to do with her brother but she had a little voice on her head telling her that she could help the resistance to stop him and then it was the Poe thing, she don’t even know what was happening between them but she know that she start to feel something for him. She sighed as she went to the cockpit, Finn was behind Han asking about the plan.
-How are we getting in?- he asked.
-Their shields have a fractional fresh rate, keeps anything slower than light speed from getting through.
-Wait that means... that we’re landing approach at lightspeed? That’s crazy?- Chewie roar.
-Chewie get ready... both of you hold on- he said looking at the window, Yn and Finn take sit behind them -and... Now- he said.
When they get out of the lightspeed the first thing they saw was a mountain, before one of them could talk Han was able to avoid it but they still were getting past, chewie roar at Han, after he answered him they crash with a bunch of trees.
-You need to go higher- Finn said, chewie agreed with him.
-I get any higher, they’ll see us- Han screamed, suddenly the threes disappear and they crashed in the snow, Yn saw the cliff in front of them.
-Dad! The cliff!- she scream.
-I see it- he said but nothing happened.
-Dad!- she close her eyes when they were close the edge, suddenly the ship stop, her father look at her with a smirk.
-You really thought we were going to fall?- he asked her making her scuff.
-You had lucky- she said.
-No honey, the force was with me- he jokes making her roll her eyes, but in a blink of an eye her expression changed, know Han could see worried and fear in her -what is it?- Han asked her.
-I can feel him...
-Are you talking about Kylo?- Finn asked, she just nod.
-He’s angry...- she didn’t even realized that she was shaking until she felt her father’s arm around her.
-Hey hey, calm down- he said and then he took her by her shoulders -I’m not going to let him do something to you...- She want to believe him but she knew her brother, she knew he can hurt her without even move a finger, but when she finally nod her father gave her a quick smiled.
-Hey guys- they hear Poe’s voice on their intercoms, Han’s smile disappears and roll his eyes.
-Did you need something, pretty boy?- he said making fun of him.
-Uh... sir... we just want...
-Han let the boy alone, Commander Dameron is worry about you- Leia said.
-I think he’s worried about you- Finn joke at Yn, she couldn’t help but smile.
-You really want to die, aren’t you?
-Why? You’re going to kill me because of a joke?- he asked, but she shook her head.
-They are going to kill you because of that joke- she point at her father and Chewie who was looking at finn with hate, Yn laughed at finn scary face.
-Come on, we got a job to do- Yn said as she get out of the ship.
The walk to the base was long and cold, but none of them made a sound as they walk through the snow, with every step they give the fear for facing her brother just grow, she knew Kylo and how deep he was on the dark side but some part of her hope that Ben was still alive. When they finally reach one of the antennas from the base Finn start to explain from where they could get in to the base, everyone agreed with what he was saying, she hope that he knew well the place, she was there a few times and if she was honest she doesn’t remember very well the place.
-What was your job when you were based here?- Han asked him
-Sanitation- he said, everyone turn to Finn as if he was insane, Han took it from the shoulder and push him to the wall.
-Sanitation?- Han asked angrily -and how do you know how to disable the ships?
-I don’t- he said -I’m just here to save Rey.
-Are you insane?- Yn asked him.
-You should know how to disable the shields, you had the codes.
-Yes but I only been here once or twice! I don’t know this place, I thought you knew it, beside I thought you also had your codes, in case mine’s didn’t work...
-Why they wouldn’t work?
-Just think about it, the sister of Ren join the resistance the first thing they’ll do is erase everything so I can’t used it, but you, they didn’t even know where are you...
-They saw me in the cantina.
-But they don’t care about you, they haven’t erase your information...
-We can figure it out- Finn said.
-How? People are counting on us, the galaxy is counting on us- Han said.
-We can used the force- Finn said,
-That’s not how the force work- Han said, chewie groan at them -Oh really you’re cold?
-Come on- Finn said as he took Yn’s hand and make her run behind him.
-I hope you got a plan- She said.
-Don’t worry I know someone who had the codes- he said with a smirk.
-You’re better be right- she said.
she look at the sky and saw how the weapon was charging, Finn nod at her before they took them to the door. They stay in silent as they wait in the elevator, when the doors opens they saw a stormtrooper in front of them, Chewie was faster than everyone and shot at him before anyone else, Finn guide them to the control room, Yn took care of the stormtrooper who was there and try to disable the shield but after the screens went red she sighed.
-So I hope you really had a plan- she said to Finn.
-Don’t worry I had one, chewie come with me, you two stay here- he get out of the room.
-Dad...- she said after a moment, Han look at his daughter with curious -I know I should say this before but... I’m sorry...
-There’s nothing to be sorry, the important thing is that you’re back and when we finish this we’re going to get rich and the best gang- he said making her smile -Unless...
-Unless?- she asked confused.
-Unless you prefer to stay with that boy- she look at him surprised -I know I’ve been rude with him but is because I can’t let anyone to be with my little girl- he said, she smiled -but I have to admitted he’s a good guy and I can see that you like him too, but I’m curious how do you meet him?
-He and I had a few encounters, I almost take him Down a few weeks ago, and he help me and Finn to scape.
-I kind of like him- he said.
-Who are you and what you did to my father?- she said making him smiled.
In that moment Chewie and Finn get back with captain Phasma, Chewie was holding her from behind as Finn keep pointing at her with a blaster, she could see the excitement in Finn’s eyes, she knew he could see this like his revenge for everything she do to him when he was training for became an stormtrooper.
-You remember me?- he asked her.
-FN 2187- Phasma answered.
-Well not anymore, the name’s Finn and I’m in charge- Han look at him like he was crazy -I’m in charge now phasma, I’m in charge...
-Bring it down- Han told him, Finn nod.
-Follow me- he said as he guide her to the computer where Yn was, she move but Phasma keep looking at her -Use your codes to disable the shields.
-And what make you believe I’ll do that?
-Because you know me Phasma- Yn said -you know what I am capable of, and I can feel your fear- she scuff -you know that I can’t turn my hand and the only thing you would feel is going to be pain, so just do us a favor and put the codes- she saw that she doubt it for a moment before she start to used her codes.
-You’re making a big mistake- she said before she lower the shields.
-Just do it- Finn said pointing at her, then he turn to Han -If this works we’re not gonna have a lot of time to find Rey.
-Don’t worry, kid, we won’t leave here without her- he said and the sound of the shields been disable take their attention.
-You can’t be so stupid as to think it will be easy, my troops will storm this block and kill you all- Phasma said.
-To bad we didn’t asked for your opinion.
-You... when Kylo get you, all that attitude won’t help you, you won’t even say a word after he’s done with you- Yn was about to raise her hand but Han stop her.
-What do we do with her?- Finn asked them.
-Is there a garbage chute? Trash compactor?- Yn look at her father with a smile.
-Yeah there is- Finn said, before they get out of the room Yn took the intercom again.
-Mom, Poe?
-We’re here honey- Poe said, she couldn’t help but blush -what’s going on there?
-We disable the shields, now is your turn.
-Copy that honey- he said with a smile, when he raise his eyes, Leia was watching at him with a smirk -General... I should... I’m going know- She give her a nod.
-Commander Dameron, take care of yourself- He nod -And Dameron I should tell you that my daughter can be tough sometimes but I saw the way she look at you...
-Mom!- Yn yell -Can you stop making this awkward and let him do his job!- Leia and Poe laugh before he get out of the room -See you in a bit Dameron.
-See you in a bit honey- she roll her eyes.

AN: Hello! Again, this is a small thing for anyone who wants to read it. If you like it, please let me know!
***
The Force is a living thing, as present as the blood in your veins. The ebb and flow of Force energy from the galaxy around them. The Force reverberated in life, echoing brightly back in the light or consuming like a black hole.
For Miraluka, it was always there. Always present.
Lukaan couldn't sleep. Miraluka, as a species, didn't have eyes, but they still slept. But he couldn't sleep. He couldn't limit his sight long enough to relax.
His sight wasn't like a human's. He didn't see in shades or blobs of color but in broad shapes. The Force echoed back to him, letting him know where he was and where everything else was in the room as well. The Force showed silhouettes- shadows against a dark background- contrasting against inanimate objects and illuminating bright outlines of emotion, feeling, and spirit among sentient beings.
Space was cold. He wrapped the blanket tighter around his shoulders. It rested soft against his cheek and heavy over his body. Without thinking, he extended his sight to his room.
Republic engineers didn't design the starship for comfort. The crew quarters were narrow and jam-packed with bunks. The bunks weren't anything he wasn't used to- a standard twin-sized mattress made of some kind of mass-produced polyfoam. It wasn't that different from his accommodations on Alpheredes with the other apprentices.
He extended his sight beyond the room and through the walls. He felt a star nearby, pulsing in time with his heartbeat, energy stretching out towards him. He pulled the sight closer.
Droids felt different, unique as not fully alive in the Force but not absent of life like a chunk of durasteel. TeeSeven rested in the engine room below, without the whirl of energy that accompanied him—powered down. And down the hall, he saw the captain's quarters, a large bed, and a dresser along with some walking room. And Kira, asleep.
He withdrew his sight to give her privacy.
Lukaan rolled over. The bunk was like any other bunk bed: military issued, sparse with little room to stretch out. He carefully bent his legs slightly, so his knees touched the wall, and his back was to the room.
The captain's quarters were more comfortable, but- Lukaan bit back a smile.
Kira called the captain's quarters.
While Seetoo educated him on the ship's ins and outs, Kira walked right past them and into the captain's quarters. Lukaan found her starfished on the bed.
"Dibs."
And that was that. It was audacious and inappropriate for a Padawan, but it made him laugh for the first time since he killed Tarnis.
A sick feeling sank back into his stomach. Tarnis. Angral. The Sith.
It was strange to be without any guidance. Lukaan still felt like a Padawan playing at Knight. He half expected a master beside him to help guide him along. Instead, he had an astromech droid and a makeshift Padawan of his own.
He slept that first night uneasily. The sounds of the ship were unfamiliar as they traveled through lightspeed. He was used to the bustle of the temple, both on Alpheredes and Tython. He wasn't used to the silence of space. The reassuring hum of Kira's Force energy in the captain's room across the deck was the only thing providing him any peace.
***
There were things he would never know. His lightsaber was cyan - a shade of blue lighter than the sky. He would never see it. He had a Padawan, but her face was a blank canvas in his mind.
He asked TeeSeven what Kira looked like, the curiosity getting the better of him. "Kira = Pale skinned Human + red hair + blue eyes." Colors meant nothing to him except what they made him feel and think. Red made him think of warmth and light while blue made him think of cold water and Tython's rivers. Contrasting but uniquely alive. A faceless woman appeared in his mind's eye. He couldn't see her face, but she glowed brightly as a sun.
Ord Mantell hurt. A thousand different feelings smashed into him as he set foot in Fort Garnik. Pain, anger, greed. It reminded him of Coruscant, but worse. It was an active warzone with life blinking out like firelight in a rainstorm. All deaths left echoes in the Force, and he felt each one.
TeeSeven helped him infiltrate the Imperial outpost. It hadn't ended well. The Imperials hadn't surrendered, and they left no survivors. Their deaths clung to him like a shroud. He pulled his focus into himself and away from his surroundings. There is no emotion; there is peace.
He hadn't wanted to kill anyone. Maybe a more seasoned Jedi could've talked them down.
At least they had information for General Var Suthra.
He froze in the airlock. His throat closed up.
A lightsaber hovered dangerously below Kira's chin and close to her throat.
There is no emotion.
The hostility of the Sith hit him square in the chest. It was just like Tarnis- how hadn't he sensed him?
"So your Master was here all along. Well played, Padawan. Your lies convinced even Darth Angral."
His jaw clenched. Kira didn't feel hurt.
They bound Kira's hands in front of her body. Somehow she still projected cockiness even with death a centimeter away—light and dark auras battering against one another like waves on the sand.
Lukaan drew his lightsaber.
"Put down that lightsaber and step away from my Padawan."
"Spare me your pathetic demands. I hold the power here, not you."
His fingers bit hard into the leather wrap around his lightsaber. Lukaan paced the short length of the airlock.
TeeSeven guarded his back and aimed his blaster attachment at the Imperials flanking the sith. Two Imperial soldiers and two Sith Acolytes. The Sith kept talking.
"Imperial intelligence noticed this girl wandering the station and alerted my master. Darth Angral came from twenty parsecs away for a personal interrogation. Unfortunately, we were led to believe you weren't here."
"Told them you were on Corelia. Suckers." Kira's aura helped calm the storm in his chest. At least Angral wasn't here.
"No matter. We have you now. Surrender--unless you want your Padawan to die."
He exhaled sharply and struggled to hold onto emotional detachment.
"He's lying. He can't kill me. Angral's orders."
That's all he needed to hear. "Release my Padawan. It's your only way out of this."
The Sith wasn't ruffled, but neither was Tarnis. Sith and their arrogance. "I'll never understand what drives you Jedi to throw away your lives. You risk certain death to free this girl. Why? Some misguided sense of duty?"
The words ripped out of his mouth without thinking. "Leave Kira alone."
"When I present Darth Angral with your head, he'll be most appreciative."
With that, the Sith pushed Kira away.
It ended quickly with a backward thrust, his blade in and out of the Sith's stomach. That dark malevolence vanished, leaving behind a hole in the Force. He'd never threaten any of them again.
The others were also quickly dispatched.
Sick satisfaction slithered in his gut. No. He swallowed down the feeling. He couldn't take joy in another's death. He needed to meditate later. He needed rest.
Kira extended both shackled hands to him. He cut through the bonds and extinguished the blade.
Kira rubbed at her wrists. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I've never been happier to see anyone my whole life."
Without the threat of imminent death, Kira's aura shone bright and warm. His words got tangled in his mouth. "That goes double for me."
Heat rose up the back of his neck and towards his ears. He needed to recenter himself.
There is no emotion.

———–
Harder than I thought, it would seem. I haven’t had so many cuts on my hands since I did field work in a prairie full of razor grass. You know, that tall grass that cuts you when you walk thought it? You never bleed from it but it hurts for a long time afterwards. But several cuts and a couple hours later, I manage to get Shaela Nur’s crystal into my blue lightsaber. I started with my purple lightsaber but for the life of my I could not get the crystal into the fitting. And when I went to my blue one, the first time, when I activated the lightsaber the crystal flew out and ricocheted off Davik’s swoop bike and hit me in the head. I guess I’m just not having a good day today. But I think I’ve got it in there nice and tight. I swing my lightsaber around, making sure the crystal won’t fly out and hit somebody else in the head. That would be hilarious but not very easy to fix when I’m away from a workbench. I spin my lightsaber with a flourish.
And I hit something.
Shit, shit, please don’t be a person. I turn around to T3’s panicked beeping. Oh, shit, that’s even worse than a person. “Oh, God, T3, I’m so sorry, are you okay? I had no idea you were in here!” He chirrups and whirs, very discombobulated. “I can fix that, I promise! I am so sorry. Can you still move okay?” He beeps in the affirmative. “Okay, good.” I dig into my pockets for my droid tool kit before I remember I gave it to Carth to hold on to. “Damn it,” I say softly, then look back at T3, “I’m going to grab some parts from the cargo hold. Go to the cockpit, I’ll be right there.” He chirps and whirs off, sparking where I hit him. I hit the secondary power coupling - it’s fixable but it means he’ll have diminished functioning until I can fix it. Which I can do no problem, this isn’t the first time I’ve done it, but I’ve never had to do it because I hit it. I am really not having a good day.
Thankfully, the cargo hold has the parts I need, so I take them into the cockpit. Carth is in there, we’re in hyperspace. “Hey,” he says, “What’s wrong with Teethree?”
“Secondary power coupling, can I have my tool kit back?”
He reaches into his pocket and hands it to me. “Kept it safe, just like you asked,” he says, “What happened? He just rolled in here, sparking.”
T3 turns his head and beeps. I scoff a bit. “Thank you for trying to spare my feelings, T3, but HK had nothing to do with it, it was all me,” I say, “I’m rerouting all functions to your primary coupling, it might tickle a little. No, this was all me, I accidentally hit him with my lightsaber.”
“Anything you can’t fix?”
“Thankfully, no, I just need to replace the coupling, I’ve done it before.” I gently pry the coupling out with my spanner. “I’ve never had the problem be my fault before, but…” I sigh. “I’m almost done, I just have to fasten this into place.”
“Why don’t you stick around when you’re done?” Carth says, “I could use a copilot.”
I smile at him. “I appreciate the invitation but I’m not sure you’d want me,” I say, “I’m not having a very good day, I might really do something wrong.”
“I still want you here,” he says.
I chuckle a bit, tightening the coupling into place. “You might regret that. Rerouting power back through the secondary coupling.” As power flows back through, there’s a small spark, which is normal, and T3’s eye lights up as he runs a diagnostic. “All good?” T3 beeps, and I release a sigh of relief. “Good. I am so sorry I did that.” T3 beeps again, forgiving me. “Thank you. I’ll be more careful next time.” T3 chirps and rolls off. I roll up my toolkit and sit down in the copilot’s chair with a heavy sigh. “I really hope my day starts picking up from here.”
He glances at me, starting to say something, but does a double take. “What happened to your head?”
I raise my hand to where he’s looking. There’s a scar there, still bleeding just a little. Didn’t realize there was a mark there. “I got hit in the head by a lightsaber crystal,” I say, running my hand over it to heal it.
“And your hands - Gods, Rena, what were you doing?”
“Turns out, modifying your lightsaber is harder than it sounds,” I say, “For those of you keeping track, today has had two terentateks, fighting a Sith master, getting betrayed by his apprentice, the political collapse of the Sith Academy on Korriban, cutting my hands, getting hit in the head by a lightsaber crystal, and knocking out a droid’s power coupling.” I say. “I could really use something good right about now.”
Carth tosses his head. “Well,” he says, “I’m about to change hyperspace routes. Once I do that it’s almost a straight shot to Manaan.”
“I’ll keep my hands to myself, then,” I say, “The way my day’s going, I might knock us off course.”
Carth smiles, and he gently pulls us out of hyper speed. Brings the ship around to change routes. Another ship in the intersection - I wonder where they’re going.
“DAMN IT - hold on!” Carth shouts suddenly, and I grab onto the seat. He spins the ship around quickly, and I hear T3 down the corridor spinning out.
“What? What is it?”
“Sith!” he says quickly, “I’m gonna try to lose them!” He pushes the controls as far forward as they’ll go, to go as fast as we can, but we aren’t moving forward. “Damn it, come on, I know you can get out of this…”
“Can’t we just go to hyperspace?”
“If I just jump to lightspeed now, we won’t be on any route, we could hit an asteroid belt or a rogue planetoid and end up dead in space.” He punches a few controls, but it’s no good. The ship slowly spins around again, and we face the huge Sith vessel. Carth keeps frantically pressing controls, but it doesn’t look like it’s doing any good.
Bastila rushes into the cockpit with Canderous behind her. “What happened? What's going on?”
“Sith Interdictor ship,” Carth says, “They were waiting for us on the hyperspace route. We're caught in their tractor beam.” Finally, he slams his hand on the control panel. There’s nothing he can do.
“Do you recognize the ship?” she asks.
“It's the Leviathan,” Carth says with a sigh, “Saul Karath's vessel. My old mentor.”
This day just doesn’t seem to be getting any better. “I have no idea how we’re going to get out of this,” I say, “but gather everyone into the main hold. We need to figure this out.”
A minute later everyone is gathered into the main hold. Carth tells everyone what’s going on, then says, “Admiral Karath taught me everything I know about being a soldier. He was a legend in the Republic fleet, and a hero to me. Until he betrayed us. When the Sith attacked my home world, the Leviathan - Saul Karath's flagship - was at the head of the fleet. My family was destroyed that day and my wife died in the Sith bombardment.” Nothing I can say will comfort Carth, and I know that. So silently I take his hand. Remind him that I’m here. “I know, I know,” he says, talking mostly to me, “I'm not going to do anything stupid. I won't throw our lives away in some mad quest for vengeance.” And then he looks at everybody. “But if I get a chance to kill Saul during our escape, nobody better get in my way.”
I should try to stop him, I know. Vengeance can lead to the Dark Side. But at the end of the day, Saul’s done terrible things, not the least of which is a massacre, and he should die for his crimes. If killing him helps Carth heal, I can’t stop him. But Bastila feels differently. “Talk of an escape is somewhat premature, don't you think?” she says, “We don't even have a plan to get out of this mess yet!”
“I'll admit it won't be easy,” Carth says, “Saul's no fool and he won't underestimate us either. You can count on plenty of guards watching every move we make.”
Bastila thinks for a second. Then she says, “Maybe Admiral Karath doesn't know how many of us there are on board. We all have special talents; talents we could exploit so that one of us could stage a rescue. We just have to figure out who has the best chance to avoid capture so that they can come and rescue us later. It's a long shot, but it's our only hope.” She looks at me and Carth. “He will probably be watching the three of us far too closely for any plot involving you, me or Carth to succeed. It's going to be up to one of the others to get us out of this.”
“Well, if we're going to pick someone to save our skins we better do it quick,” Carth says, “In another minute we're going to have Sith troops marching up our loading ramp!”
My mind rushes through a half-dozen plots - HK could come out firing, T3 could pretend to be deactivated, Jolee could use the Force, we could throw gizka at them - but then I see MIssion frantically waving her hand in the air. “Ooh! Ooh!” she says excitedly. So I look at her. “I can break out of anything! Maybe I can goad the guards into making a mistake!”
“What sort of mistake?”
“If I get them mad enough, they might put me in a separate cell to punish me. With them focusing so much on you three I might be able to sneak out of my cell and come rescue the rest of you!”
Zaalbar loudly objects. “No, it’s too dangerous!”
“It’s a risk we have to take, Big Z!” she insists, “I can slice my way free from any security cell! Don’t worry, I can pull this off!”
“Mission, are you sure?” I ask. It’s a solid plan - the Sith could kill her, but that’s a risk we take with any plan, and I doubt they will kill her. Not so soon after her capture.
“Yeah, Rena,” she says, looking at me solemnly, “I want to do this.”
The ship shudders. “Hold on!” Carth says, “They're dragging us into the docking bridge!”
I move quickly over to her. “Get to the starboard quarters,” I say, “Make them come to you, fight on your own turf.”
She nods. “Got it.”
“Fight dirty, curse, piss him off. Insult his mother, if you run out of ideas.”
“Absolutely.”
I hug her quickly. “Good luck.” She nods and starts to move off, but I stop her one last time. “Hey,” I say, and I place a hand on her shoulder, “Go get ‘em.” She smiles, and runs off to her place in the starboard quarters.
This is certainly in the running for the worst day of my life.

Project Compass 31
Read along on AO3 here
<< Previous Chapter <<    >> Next Chapter >>
This time: Eli is pissed.
Next time: Ar'alani and Vah'nya conduct an interrogation.
-/
Note: this chapter through the end of the story will contain violent scenes. I don't feel that they're out of line with what's been seen in SW content on screen (or in this fic previously), but it doesn't hurt to mention it since tumblr doesn’t do fic warnings/ratings like AO3.
-/
For a long while, the hum of the small ship's engines had been the only accompaniment to either Chiss's thoughts. Un'hee, head bowed, allowed herself to sink into the trance-like state required of her to safely navigate them toward the Compass. She could feel Thrawn beside her all the while, like a greyish presence at the edges of her vision despite her eyes remaining closed as she deftly made the micro-adjustments necessary to keep them from sinking too far into any gravity wells created by planets they streaked by at lightspeed.
She could sense his disquiet. He wasn’t nervous - if he was anyone else, she’d say it was nerves, but she felt like he was more irritated than anything. A nudge of the controls had them avoiding an asteroid cluster in the dark depths of their current system. Thrawn hadn’t noticed. It was impossible for anyone who wasn’t actively in the Navigator’s trance to notice the tiny adjustments necessary to pilot a ship through the Unknown Regions.
Except, that wasn’t quite right. Lately Un’hee had noticed herself more aware of the subtle adjustments when she wasn’t at the helm, like her mind had unfurled like a flower, extending out toward her surroundings. Ever since she’d healed Thrawn, she’d been different somehow. The same - it wasn’t like she was a different person, but using her Sight felt second nature. She felt like she was capable of steering the ship without needing the deep pool she’d been trained to wade in when steering the ships of the Ascendancy.
Her skin prickled a little, charged and alert. She remained calm both inside and out, despite her fear. She knew what was coming. Thrawn’s frustration, afterall, was because she’d forced herself on his plans. She was a variable he hadn’t planned for. Thus, she could feel the swirling pressure of his thoughts, their cool, silky texture as he tried to determine the best course of action to secure her safety while still achieving his goals.
It was why she volunteered. They would both be taken captive. Volunteering, foisting herself upon him absolved him of blame within the Ascendancy. Or, at least, it would, once she explained herself. Ultimately, she knew that didn’t change his perspective. He would bear any harm that befell her as a badge of his own failure. And unfortunately, there was little chance of either of them escaping unscathed. She did not doubt they would be rescued. She was too valuable to the Ascendancy - she and her rare abilities. She would exploit herself in this way, if only to make sure she was able to keep both Thrawn and their remaining allies safe.
When he inevitably toggled the comms sometime later - time seemed to lose meaning in the depths of hyperspace travel, though a quick reach with her Sight told her they were a little more than two hours away - Un’hee allowed herself to devote some of her energy to listening even as she continued to guide the ship.
It was a Chiss that answered Thrawn’s hail. A Chiss that Un’hee didn’t recognize by voice. If they were a member of the Compass’s crew, they were new. She nudged the controls to the right, careful to avoid a planet’s field of gravity, then back to the left, feeling an obstruction in her path that needed to be shaken loose. Thrawn spoke slowly, confidently but without pride or arrogance.
He offered himself as a prize. His surrender in exchange for the Navigators, alive and unharmed. It was not much of a trade, but it was all he was willing to offer.
“Your surrender will be unconditional,” The Chiss said. Un’hee dared to open her eyes even as she continued to divert her mind’s eye to her task of piloting the ship. Looking up through her lashes, she saw the pale blue holo of the Chiss speaking with Mitth’raw’nuruodo. The holo was not colorized, so she wasn’t able to tell for sure, but the uniform he wore looked strange. Pale. Not the deep space gray-black color of the CDF. “Or we will execute those aboard the ship, beginning with the Navigators.”
“You are easily manipulated by your overseers that you would commit the highest crime against your people?” Thrawn’s voice almost seemed small, but no, she realized, it was rage. Violent and turbulent and sealed away so firmly as not to be allowed to escape, Thrawn’s rage made the hair on the back of her neck prickle.
This wasn’t the way to negotiate with them, she thought, and refused to think about it too hard, trusting her intuition as she made arrangements to intervene.
“Prepare for real-space reversion,” She murmured, lifting her head entirely and allowing him just enough time to look at her from the pilot’s chair in a cross between concern and fury before the stars stuttered to a stop. The ship’s drop out of hyperspace was rather calm, all things considered.
She regarded the Chiss projected above the center console with an unimpressed look. “I wish to speak to your superior,” She said, ignoring Thrawn’s twitch of disapproval. She knew he did not like
“You will speak to me,” The Chiss replied stoically.
Un’hee pursed her lips, closed her eyes and clenched her fists tight enough to draw blood. When she opened them again, Thrawn was watching her with a guarded expression, no doubt aware of her discomfort. She looked at their enemy and spoke once more. The sounds that came out were not Cheunh or Meese Calf.
Thrawn didn’t know what it meant. She could see that on his face.
Then, suddenly, an armored arm threw the Chiss on the other end of the comms device out of range of the projector with a violent swing. “To whom do I speak?” The Grysk asked in Meese Calf, voice low and dangerous. He did not respond in kind.
Un’hee bowed her head in servitude. “I am called Un’hee,” She responded in Meese Calf this time. “I served your Hegemony before being retrieved by the Chiss Ascendancy.” The Navigator chose her words carefully.
“I will not negotiate with your Defense Fleet,” The Grysk said. “You will surrender.”
“Admiral Ar’alani of the Defense Fleet has not authorized our actions,” She said. “She does not know of our plans. The Ascendancy was unwilling to part with Mitth’raw’nuruodo,” She added, “Thus we were forced to act.”
To Thrawn, the Grysk tittered scathingly, “Is this true?”
Thrawn nodded once, sharply enough to indicate that it was in fact the truth.
“I do not trust you,” They responded.
“You have the means to communicate with them,” Un’hee pressed. “Ask them.”
Thrawn reached out, pushing down on her shoulder to stop her from speaking. “You wish to send me to the Galactic Empire in exchange for the Emperor’s favor in the future,” He said. “I am proof that Emperor Palpatine does not value his allies.”
The Grysk growled, “You know nothing of Palpatine.” It stroked its armored face with long, skeletal fingers. “And you underestimate your value,” He said. “You are a gift,” He sneered, “Nothing more.” They studied Thrawn through the projection. “Though I appreciate your selection of Navigator. The young one will reprise her role as a hireling with less effort than it would require to train a new one.”
“Our people will not stand for this,” Un’hee declared, shaking Thrawn’s hand from her shoulder. “They will not be enslaved by your will.”
“They already have been. You will remember your place soon enough.” The Grysk gestured to someone outside of the scope of the projection, when suddenly the projection itself changed to show the expanse of the room. “Since you seem so unconvinced,” The Grysks’s voice held something like amusement. Glee.
Thrawn hissed and swore. “Do not look,” He murmured to her, feeling Un’hee’s entire being freeze with the knowledge of what would happen thanks to her Sight.
Shaking her head even as tears leaked from her eyes, she kept her gaze level with the display of the scene before her. Even as a Chiss - a different one, still wearing that strange, too-pale uniform - dragged a Navigator to stand before the Grysk. “I have to,” She said, even as her lower lip wobbled and the young Navigator on the display was murdered brutally, screaming and crying until life fled her entirely. Her execution was committed by a Chiss.
“It is a high crime for a Chiss to kill a Navigator.” The Grysk cast the murdered Navigator’s body to the side without concern. “And yet you are tools to your Ascendancy, the same as you once were to our Hegemony.”
“We are not tools,” She snarled. “We are warriors.” There was a bright spark in Un’hee’s eyes. To Thrawn’s surprise, her anger far outweighed her fear. “If you continue to kill my sisters, the CDF forces will annihilate the warship Compass,” She said vehemently. “Whether we are aboard or not.”
“We shall see,” The Grysk said. “Consider this your incentive to arrive promptly,” They barked. “Perhaps it persuade me to be merciful towards the rest of your… ‘sisters.’” The last word was said with such contempt that it made the shuttle craft’s speakers crackle.
“They were not the commander,” Thrawn said slowly, once the communications device ceased transmitting and the connection was severed on their enemy’s end.
Un’hee swallowed hard and nodded. “There is more than one aboard,” She said shakily. “They must not have the number of allies required aboard the Compass to hold the ship.”
Thrawn considered that for a moment. “Do you believe they will execute those who refuse to surrender?”
“Not all of them,” She supposed. “But many of them will die. They will use those deaths to inspire hopelessness. And those who are already their clients-”
“Which?” Turning to her, Thrawn eyed her warily. “Explain.”
“Their uniforms were different. More like coveralls. It is hard to tell the difference over the holo but I remember the type. They aren’t the same between client species, but they are duller than the color of cour uniforms. I think those were what the Chiss we spoke to was wearing.”
“It will not be universal,” He speculated cautiously. “But it is worth our consideration.” Then, he returned his hand to her shoulder, patting it gently. “You must continue our course,” He urged her. “I do not wish to ask it of you,” He said, his words infused with honesty, “But there are lives at stake.”
Un’hee nodded. “I understand the gravity of our situation now, Captain Mitth’raw’nuruodo,” She whispered, steeling herself. “I will not serve another Grysk, nor any of their clients,” She uttered vehemently, clenching her fists. “They will have to kill me, and I will not give in without a fight.”
-/
Karyn Faro was mostly trained in Imperial protocol and procedure, but some skills were more or less universal - like this one, she thought, locked in with the bridge crew, openly interviewing the officers presently in command of the Steadfast. Ar’alani was an impressive - and arguably frightening - commanding officer when furious, assuming she allowed it to show. She was far more terrifying when she did not.
The sensor officer was not impressed with her pointed personal questions or the level of disbelief she let drip into her tone. No matter. She was hardly an interrogator, the Empire had had ISB for that, but she could hold her own, and she’d gone toe-to-toe with Thrawn. He was far more frightening than any of the officers aboard Aralani’s bridge.
There was, of course, a method to the madness. She’d retained the information after only a cursory glance on her datapad, deleting the message she’d received moments before the Admiral had been called to the Hangar.
She wasn’t particularly keen on asking officers whom they spent their spare time with, or what familial obligations - off the records, of course - each officer upheld, be it due to some social obligation or simply political beliefs. And, worse of all, that it was a lowly human questioning them, well - Faro spoke more than enough Cheunh to know just what they thought of her. Frankly, she just didn’t care.
It was the younger officers that gave her the hardest time. The sensor officer she’d just finished up with, the petty officer overseeing two weapons terminals that were running diagnostics just in case they’d be needed later. The older officers - the first officers and mid-commanders were far calmer, understanding of the questioning.
Faro went lighter on them, per Ar’alani’s instructions. Of course, they had far more to say, speculations and fingers to point. Such was their way. Pride, arrogance, a flair for the dramatic… she laughed at herself, remembering the days when she assumed Thrawn was a representative of his people. He was just as much of an outsider as she was.
She’d made it a point to give away little, though she worded her commentary to the senior staff with specific phrasing, allowing keen ears to monitor who spoke to whom, and which stories would get back to her. None of the staff made it a point to speak to her, or actively sought her out.
Except one.
“Commander Faro,” Mid-Commander Tanik, who oversaw the bridge with Eli and Thrawn both away from the command walk, greeted her as she paused to key a few notes on her datapad.
“Mid-Commander Tanik,” She returned, stiffening ever-so-slightly to indicate that she respected him as the senior officer. She doubted he had more experience than she did, but she’d been instructed to get along with the crew in all things, whenever possible. Ar’alani might find her perspective… amusing, but right now she was gathering intel.
From her experience, Faro had a feeling she was onto something. She also had a feeling that Ar’alani had positioned her to spring the trap. Tanik did not have an excellent facade, but he did have a wide, disarming smile. She nodded curtly in response to it.
“Have your interviews borne any suspicions?” He asked her.
“Some,” She admitted thoughtfully. “Unfortunately, I cannot speak to them. The admiral was very specific about not speaking to anyone regarding the results of the questioning, despite the need for them to occur in such an open space.”
Tanik hummed thoughtfully. “Well, the Admiral would not lead us astray,” He said, and looked around the bridge, gaze sweeping over his subordinates with a sternness she was almost surprised to see. He shrugged, reverting to his usual passive demeanor, lips tilted upwards ever-so-slightly in what was nearly a smile. “If there is anything I can do, or any other questions you need to ask, just let me know, yes?”
“I appreciate it, Mid-Commander,” While blunt and businesslike, Faro spared a glance around, checking to make sure no one was obviously listening to her, then added, “I don’t believe I’ll have any more questions for you.” Her voice dropped to a whisper. “The Admiral believes it is one of the sensor or weapons officers. She knows her senior staff would never betray her.”
Tanik tutted, sounding almost like a disappointed parent. His voice held an edge of placation, as if trying to soothe some invisible hurt he believed the human to have. “I shall keep my eyes and ears open to what is happening around me. Just let me know when you go to give your report.
“Yes, Sir,” Faro said, then waved with one hand in the direction of the helm. “I appreciate your assistance.”
She felt bad for the weapons officer she was about to pressure - and likely embarrass. However, it was better that she do this than allow the Mid-Commander to gain any sort of insight about just how much Ar’alani and Faro were onto him.
After all, he was a good actor when he knew he was being watched. What he did not know was that Ar’alani had caught a flash of unmistakable glee during their enemy’s missive earlier, reflected opaquely in the mirrored transparisteel of the ship’s windows. Faro was content to look like an idiot for now.
Both Ar’alani and Faro would enjoy watching his downfall.

Upon awakening, Eli was granted exactly ninety-six seconds of carrying on in his native tongue, a language Admiral Ar’alani understood very little of. Not that translation was necessary, some things transcended language. The set of his jaw, the way his lips twisted over his teeth in a snarl, how his chest heaved for breath because his rage seemed to punch it all from his lungs, these were all universal indicators of his mood, of the heat behind his words.
Beside the cot Eli'van'to was now sitting up on and standing to Ar’alani’s right was Vah'nya. She kept her mouth in a straight line, but her eyes danced, finding some of this amusing. To Ar'alani's left was the young Jedi, and his face and ears glowed like a beacon. Perhaps her Senior Navigator was correct, no doubt Ivant had some colorful words to describe his feelings about things. Ar'alani certainly didn't regret her lack of fluency, but she couldn't help but wonder about the specifics.
When she held up a hand, Ivant cut himself off. He went entirely silent, closed his eyes and forced himself to take a deep breath. Centered when he opened them again, he spoke in Cheunh. "Apologies, Admiral," He began, and she heard the anger coiled just beneath the surface barely contained,"It's just," He exhaled, and exclaimed, more than a little surprised and definitely furious, "That - he - he shot me."
"It was a stun bolt," Vah'nya said dubiously, as if he were being overly dramatic. Perhaps his rambling had been, but Ar'alani was content to give him the benefit of the doubt this time. "It's not like you have been harmed. I don't think he has it in him to actually hurt you, at least, not physically."
Eli opened his mouth, no doubt to press something else just as emotional, but Ar'alani interrupted. "Mitth'raw'nuruodo was not the one to stun you. I reviewed the security holos of the incident. It was Navigator Un'hee."
“Un’hee?” The startled yelp from Eli would have been comical in other circumstances, but the lack of denial was the only confirmation Eli was given. The human smoothed a hand down his face and sighed. "They've gone off on their own, haven't they?"
"Yes." Ar'alani was frowning. "I have questioned Navigator Mi'yaric about the events leading up to this. She believes that Un'hee pressured Mitth'raw'nuruodo. He did not coerce her." Something sharpened in the elder Chiss's expression. "He is very lucky I am inclined to believe that, given her actions towards you, lest he inspire my ire in addition to yours.” She retained eye-contact for another two seconds, just enough to let him know that she’d seen what had happened in the hangar. She knew all that happened aboard her ship. He didn’t flinch away, even though his anger had receded beneath his impassive command facade. Good, the admiral thought. There would be time for his arguably well-deserved fury later. For now, they had work to do.
At that, the Jedi turned his head, looking up to her as Eli swung his legs over the cot, satisfied that he did not feel any of the residual tingling or vertigo associated with being stunned. "Admiral?" The young man asked, wincing at her reproach for her first officer gone rogue.
"I am accustomed to Mitth'raw'nuruodo making a mess of our plans," She said, her heavy gaze sliding to the left to regard him. "Make no mistake," She added, "He is a fool and he will be dealt with." She nodded to Eli. "But we have other matters to attend to. Things have changed."
Before the admiral could ask if he was fit to leave, Ivant was on his feet, steady. He turned to Vah'nya. "Do you have their trajectory?"
"Trackers were disabled on the shuttle."
"And on Thrawn?"
Vah'nya smirked. "I cannot believe you got away with that, but yes. The micro-tracker will work so long as he's in the shuttle. If they meet up with another ship, it will not communicate wirelessly with its interface unless it's the Compass.
Ezra looked horrified. “You think she’d actually take him there? She’s terrified of the Grysks and she wouldn’t want Thrawn to just give himself up to them,” He pressed.
Eli frowned, then looked to Vah’nya. “What do you think?”
The Senior Navigator shrugged, almost imperceptibly as she replied. “I was surprised she volunteered herself.”
Eli shook his head. “I’m not. She’s far braver than she lets on. She just doesn’t realize it.”
“Even so, Navigator Mi’yaric’s recount of their conversation was concerning. When we spoke to Ezra,” Vah’nya added, nodding in the Jedi’s direction. “He indicated that Un’hee was not acting strangely, but in hindsight he was able to recognize her words as suggesting she was preparing to do something incredibly dangerous that she felt ‘only she could do.’ I would hope she does not deviate from the plan, but,” She exhaled softly. “I think it may be a possibility.”
A grim smile coveted Ivant’s features. “If there is one Grysk aboard the Compass, they’ll have a warship nearby. Deviation probably won’t be possible, but...”
Ar’alani regarded Eli with sharp skepticism. “You have a plan?”
He exhaled slowly, the motion of his diaphragm controlled. Ar’alani could see him organizing his thoughts, fitting them together into something more cohesive. “I might.”
A smirk crossed her features, like a predator scenting prey. “That makes two of us,” She mused. “Come. Let us see what opportunity we can make from our comrades’ poor decisions.”
-/
Ezra stood one step behind Admiral Ar’alani and to her right. Commander Faro waited for them at the blast doors that opened up to the bridge. They both seemed strangely calm. He had been instructed to go with the admiral following their impromptu strategy meeting and that he’d know what he’d be needed for. It didn’t take an idiot to know that meant that Ezra would be expected to use the Force in some capacity.
Which was fine, he didn’t mind, but nobody was telling him what was going on. If there was someone who was a danger to the crew, a little warning - or even a direction in which to focus his attention - would be nice. The Force usually gave him a nudge in the right direction, but he was far from all-knowing.
The Chiss were like that. They spoke in these riddles that only made Ezra have more questions, until the very last second when he realized what had been so infuriatingly obvious to them the whole time. Usually Thrawn took a teaching approach, guiding Ezra to make the connections necessary. He noticed that Captain Ivant had done the same for him at least once, as well.
But Ezra didn't dare question Admiral Ar'alani at this point. Her shoulders were tight. He considered Faro. She stood in parade rest, a gentle, moderately disinterested look upon her face that reminded him that she had most definitely been an imperial.
"Which officer," Ar'alani began, not needing to complete her question before Faro was indicating an officer over by one of the weapons consoles. Said officer was tense, well aware of the eyes on him, but Ezra sensed only a flicker of nervousness. He didn't think the officer was guilty of anything besides the lack of enjoyment of all the negative attention he was receiving.
Ar'alani didn't even pause in her sedate walk onto the bridge, continuing down into the crew pit and approaching the officer's station. By the looks of it, Ezra realized he was a lieutenant, and probably a newly promoted one if the way he trembled under the admiral’s gaze was any indication.
The weapons officer straightened to attention, rising hastily from his seat in front of his console. Ar’alani’s eyebrow went up, an action Ezra could only see via her reflection in the gleaming viewport to their left, looking out amongst the stars. She did not say anything, only looked at the officer for a long, inscrutable moment.
“Treason is unbecoming of you,” Ar’alani said, almost gently. There was an undercurrent to her voice, indicative of looming danger. Whatever happened now would ultimately change the tone of this entire encounter. Ezra tensed, waiting in anticipation for when he would be needed. He had no doubt it would be soon.
The entire bridge seemed to be holding its breath, just waiting, waiting for the lieutenant paralyzed under the weight of his admiral's gaze to buckle under the strain, for the admiral to put him in his place, to finish her accusation and have Faro usher him away.
None of that happened, though. Instead, Ar'alani's eyes shifted up toward the command walk, disregarding the terrified officer entirely.
"Mid Commander Tanik," Ar'alani said, sounding almost disinterested.
Tanik was not a large man, of average build for a Chiss. Tall and lean, but not wiry. He swallowed hard, no doubt feeling the strange tension, before his eyes focused and he stood at attention, ready to serve. "Yes, Admiral?"
"I said," She annunciated, turning now to face him directly, "'Treason is unbecoming of you.'"
Ezra saw what was happening in his mind's eye with stark clarity, the Force whispering in his ear, alerting him to the imminent danger about to present itself with seconds to spare. Seconds that allowed him the intervention necessary to reclaim the vial in Tanik's hands, the one he had been about to throw at his admiral hard enough to break and that Ezra caught with an invisible hand. He did not need to see the vial to know what it was.
Still with that unimpressed air to her, Ar’alani retrieved the vial where it hovered in front of her by Ezra’s intervention. No one moved, but Ezra felt the shock of fear, the electricity of it as it coursed through the rest of the bridge crew. They all knew what it was, too.
“Do you know why our enemies carry poison like this, why they kill themselves before they can be detained and questioned?” The crooning tone to her voice gave Ezra gooseflesh, made his hair stand on end a sort of sympathetic terror. Tanik made an abrupt about-face and headed toward the door.
Faro stood in front of him, her face slack and stoic, but her eyes alight with fury akin to her admiral’s. Tanik made to shove past her but she dropped quickly, tripping the Chiss with her lower center of gravity and sending him sprawling onto the durasteel walkway. Her show of strength as she hoisted him back up to his feet, his arms twisted painfully behind his back was impressive.
And yet, Faro whirled him around to face Admiral Ar’alani, forcing him to look up into her ruthless eyes. “Our enemies do not wish for their secrets to escape them,” She said, her voice as cold as the vacuum of space. “Your selfishness will be their undoing.”
“I will not tell you anything,” Tanik said.
“No?” She supposed, and a grim smile curved her lips. “I disagree.”

RISE OF SKYWALKER
IT HAS BEEN SEEN MY FRIENDS... LET’S GO
IT WAS A LOVE STORY ALL ALONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU. GUYS. I AM SO... ALIVE RIGHT NOW I
okay that opening scrawl i laughed so hard... THE DEAD SPEAK!!
‘supreme leader kylo ren’ will never not be funny
OKAY OPENING WITH KYLO I SCREAMED.... HIS BEAUTIFUL FACE
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO EXPLAIN TO YOU.... HOW MUCH
okay and his ruthless hell bent search for this silly macguffin.... we love a demonic legend
and ALSO his determination to kill the past!!!!!! HE HAS LITERALLY BEEN CIRCLING THIS THE WHOLE SERIES
look, i am biased because kylo is my favourite and he has been the one thing that’s been consistently written and done across this trilogy and i’m very spoiled because i got everything i wanted here
but KYLO REN. KYLO REN!!!!!!!!!!!
laughed my ASS off at the snoke in the tube and palpatine being like ‘surprise bitch.... bet you thought you’d seen the last of me’
laughed decidedly LESS at ‘i’ve been every voice you’ve ever heard in your head’
look this isn’t going to be a review.... just my thoughts really and this decidedly isn’t a comparison with the last jedi which it seems like everyone wants to do in a weird victorious kind of way
but kylo killing snoke/his abuser in tlj was a terrifying powerful moment to watch and i loved it fiercely and still do, and for kylo to see that he hadn’t done that at all.... and that evil still abides.... fucking nightmare, honestly
and that’s when i started getting a feeling in the back of my head because look he is so determined to kill the past
(let the past die)
that he will kill himself as well to do it. that has always been kylo’s character since the very beginning. SO!!!!!
also the structural integrity of palp’s hideaway.... not great
palps: kill rey heh heh
kylo: i am absolutely not gonna do that but okay
omfg when kylo was like ME AND MY KNIGHTS OF REN ARE GOING HUNTING
i cannot explain to you how HILARIOUS the knights of ren are to me
they do nothing! they say nothing! they just stand around and look stupid in their stupid helmets..... i laughed every single time they were on screen
it’s like kylo’s uselessness manifests into what 6? 7 more useless things. the Knights of Ren
‘we’re going hunting’ are you TWELVE YEARS OLD
this film felt like it was going a million miles an hour, all the time, and that started for me in that first scene in the falcon which was going all over the place? for some reason?
anyway THERE’S A MOLE IN THE FIRST ORDER and i know it is hux but i kind of wanted it to be kylo on the side.... though i know he is not capable of any such subterfuge. about as subtle as a wrecking ball... and my SON
loved the comraderie with poe and finn. i liked the lived-in feeling of the relationships between the rebellion characters this time around
felt like they had that new alien dude in the falcon for no reason and for two seconds like... why
(to sell toys, of course. the same reason why they have a new tiny droid)
but that of course is just the first in a long line of new and underdeveloped characters in this movie. but you know what? i can accept this because the core emotional story was strong and also, it’s star wars? a big sprawling mess is what it has always, always been. ANYWHOMST
REY IN THE FOREST LEVITATING!!!!
the white outfit!!! how at one she is with nature??? SORRY IT WAS BEAUTIFUL
and okay the specific framing of rey and rey’s power in this movie as not only a part of the force but so specifically as a woman using the force... like the power of empathy! the power of healing!!! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL WHATEVER
when she called leia her MASTER? MY HEART
THE POWER OF WOMEN!!!
Tumblr media
on the flip side, doesn’t it kind of feel like poe has a problem with women?
like as soon as he started riffing with rey i was like GET A JOB STAY AWAY FROM HER
but in hindsight i feel kind of better about them and their interactions... more on that later
FINN! finn in this movie was WONDERFUL
(except it annoyed me how they had the whole ‘there’s something i want to say to you’ and never had him say it... like even if he was going to say he loved rey okay just don’t leave it hanging like that?)
FORCE FUCKING SENSITIVE!!!!!!
look i really think they did they best they could with a really difficult job in incorporating leia and previous footage into this movie. it wouldn’t have felt right without her and the scenes were a bit clunky but again, a very very difficult thing to do
LEIA AND REY’S RELATIONSHIP..... MY HEART HURTS
i love that rey’s storyline has depth and motivation and kylo’s storyline is literally revolving around rey like she’s the sun
like i literally love this. MORE OF THIS!!!
FORCE BOND STILL EXISTSSSSSSSS
KNEW IT CALLED IT CLAIMED IT LOVE IT
the soft gasp rey does whenever kylo is about to show up for forceskype i love this song
the knights of ren standing around while kylo’s helmet got fixed omfg they are the stupidesttttt
kylo: maybe i don’t want to wear the helmet
the knights of ren: maybe shut the fuck up
Let’s Go To Burning Man
i actually kind of liked seeing these people doing their own cool cultural thing. like again this movie went at lightspeed but i did enjoy that. what’s better than this? just aliens being dudes
when rey talked to that little girl and she asked her last name i was like LOLLLL HERE WE GOOOOOOOO
as soon as lando showed up it was like ‘oh it’s lando’
‘i offered you my hand’
‘I’LL OFFER YOU MY HAND AGAIN’
WHY DID HE SAY THIS... LIKE IT WAS A PROPOSAL
I WAS SCREECHING SORRY... WOW.
i have never really found C3PO funny but um he was going off in this movie... when they all looked at him and then he looked away I CACKLED
and the mind wipe like whew man... one day we’re gonna have a conversation about Droids And The Uncomfortable Conclusions About Droids in these movies
but also, i wish they’d had the guts to stick with it and not restore his memory because, what a symbol for the past dying and the end of a saga? like 3PO has been there since the start!! the star wars live in his memory banks ???? and R2 as well i suppose
don’t think too long about this cause then you realise that for some reason they’re still using like 80 year old iphones and R2 and 3PO should be decommissioned for scraps
WHEN HE TOOK THE NECKLACE OFF HER I FOUND IT HOT I FOUND IT SEXY I FOUND IT UMMMM
Tumblr media
the sand was a cool visual thing but then THE SNAKE
it felt so GREEK HERO MYTH but then rey stops the script!!
AND DOESN’T FIGHT IT
AND SHE HEALS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as soon as rey healed that snake i was like
‘kylo ren is that snake’
blah blah dagger blah
the sith language and being forbidden actually interests me. i want more proper sith lore
basically i want a revan and bastila movie. make it so
keri russell was WASTED in this movie
but that one scene with her and rey where they had Mutual Respect was so much better and more important than anything she did with poe
poe is like... sure i guess. i mean i liked him better in this movie than tlj and i liked him more as the movie when on but hmmst
but hey if i get to have a kylo then the poe people can have i poe. i begrudge no one
except, uh.... hux people. y’all really got done this movie huh. ouch
double as bad cause there was literally no point to the new general character. should have just been hux and then had him die in the final battle?
but i laughed when he was like ‘i don’t want you to WIN. i want kylo to LOSE’
THAT’S KING PETTY
omfg when kylo was like ‘where are you’ and then saw the vader mask and was like ‘oh you’re in my room’
SCREECHED
KYLO’S EVIL BOARD MEETING
LAUGHED MY ASS OFF
WHEN HE SMACKED THAT DUDE TO THE ROOF
sorry the first order is a startup. not even an ‘evil’ one especially because they’re all just a bit evil
when kylo reacted to that guy saying ‘we should take more children’ and the small thread winding through this movie about children being indoctrinated and rey and ben stopping THAT cycle.. important to me and i wish it had been bigger but i was glad it was there
all kylo did in the first half of this movie was chase after his girlfriend and tell her how they were meant to be together and that he wasn’t going to kill her even though he should. i love one stupid man
kylo flying his ship at rey deliberately wanting to ‘push her’ and her jumping over it and crashing the whole damn thing
Tumblr media
and then him just getting up and walking out of the wreck not a scratch on him
like some kind of hero in a romance novel in his stupid cape lmfaoaoooo... you love to see it
THE PUSH/PULL WITH THE TRANSPORT?
THEIR POWERRRRRR
and then rey with her fuckin LIGHTNING
as soon as that happened i was like, oh lol rey palps then....
but also, THE LOOK OF WONDER BUT ALSO VICTORY ON KYLO’S FACE
ADAM DRIVER SIR
okay to be honest the whole soujourn to the like space swiss village is kind of a blur to me
keri russell was wasted, did i say that already?
although okay that bit when poe was like ‘were you a stormtrooper? were you a scavenger?’ maybe give him his rights
when kylo said WE’RE TWO PARTS OF THE SAME BEING
A DYAD
TWO WHO ARE AS ONE
two? WHO ARE? AS ONEEEEEE
NEITHER WHOLE WITHOUT THE MOTHERFUCKING OTHER I
‘i never lied to you’ AND HE NEVER HAS AND NEVER FUCKING DIDDD!!!!!
all the stormtroopers getting knocked back and kylo steadying himself with the force lol... it’s these little things ok
JODIE COMER?
rEy PaLpAtInE
I LAUGHED MY ASSSS OFFFFFFF
like... sure jj. sure
look, i have always understood and respected the choice to make rey ‘nobody’ (like anakin was! the force just makes who it needs to create the balance!) but if rey was going to be anyone i guess.... this is the best choice?
and i think there IS merit in the story going from ‘person burdened with legacy vs person with no legacy’ to ‘person with a legacy of good turning evil and person with a legacy of evil turning good’
i gotta think longer and more about this but. besides its inherent silliness i do not hate this ‘twist’
this movie jumped from planet to planet like a ping pong ball! it felt a bit jarring but my mum pointed out that the galaxy IS big and they’ve never really done this before and i was like hmmm Points Were Made
THE FIGHT ON THE OLD DEATH STAR
KYLO DODGING REY’S SWIPES AND NOT EVEN PULLING HIS SABER UNTIL HE HAD TO
THEN ONLY FIGHTING DEFENSIVELY
and her DESPERATION
ALMOST LIKE SHE’S FIGHTING HERSELF
BECAUSE THEY ARE TWO HALVES! OF ONE WHOLE!
and then oh my god
‘you can’t go back to her (leia). just like i can’t’
and the VICTORY in his eyes and the acknowledgment of the truth in hers
because THEY ARE THE SSSAAAAAAMMMMMMMMEEEE
when rey SCREECHED and force threw finn back.... oh fuck
(sidebar the way finn was so determinedly THERE for rey this whole movie... even when she said about the sith throne... his faith in her didn’t waver im verklempt)
WHEN HE DISAPPEARED AND REY LOOKED BACK HORRIFIED
because he can’t go! because the fight is what they have and what she’s clinging on to!
AND THEN HE WALKED UP OUT THE WATTTTEERRRRRRRRR
absolute romantic nonsense.
AND THEN
SHE KILLED HIM
SHE KILLED HIM!!!!!!
SHE KILLED KYLO REN WITH HIS OWN DAMN CRUCIFIX SWORD
I COULD NOT
BE LEEEEAAAF
THIS HAS BEEN MY DREAM ENDGAME SINCE THE START AND IT’S HERE TWO THIRDS THROUGH THE FUCKING LAST MOVIE?
A GIFT. LICH RALLY A GIFT TO MEEEEE
leia gave her LIFE for her SON I...
this was the only moment in the movie where i started to get some tears cause like... IT WAS JUST SO MUCH
AND REY.... TOOK LEIA’S ENERGY THROUGH THE FORCE...
AND SHE PUT HER HANDS ON HIM
AND SHE HEALED HIM
SHE’S A SCAVENGER
SHE FIXES BROKEN THINGGGGSSSSS
Tumblr media
HE DIED BECAUSE SHE KILLED HIM
AND HE LIVES BECAUSE SHE HEALED HIM...
WHEN. WILL. YOUR. FAVES?????????
‘I WANTED TO TAKE YOUR HAND. BEN’S HAND’
take my hand? take my whole life too
IIRENGOWENRGKLJEWNGFKJBKJBKJBKJLB
ALL THE BEAUTIFUL WINDSWEPT CLOSE UP SHOTS OF KYLO’S BEAUTIFUL WINDSWEPT FACE IN THIS MOVIE. I WAS BREATHLESS
KYLO STNADING ON THE EDGE OF THAT SEA WITH THE WIND GOING AND HIS LEG OUT LIKE THE STUPID BYRONIC HERO HE IS
HEATHCLIFF? HEATHCLIFF ON THE MOOR?
HAN’S HAND ON BEN’S FACE
HE CALLED HIM. DAD
Tumblr media
‘kylo ren is dead’
OHHHHHH BABBBBYYYYYY
look i loved the crossguard saber but i understood why it had to go
and like ben shedding the persona he had built as a defence mechanism... rey killed that part of him? powerful too powerful
i know i have rose coloured glasses because i care about the core story of kylo/rey enough and i’m passionate enough about it but okay the way they are entwined with one another on the journey to identity is the greatest thing a silly blockbuster series has maybe ever given me
it’s tam lin. IT’S FAIRY TALE NONSENSE AND I LOVE IT
i 100% know in my bones they wanted the scene with han to be leia but they obviously couldnt have that so that was fine. when ben turned his head around and heard her and felt her.... DONT LOOK AT ME
the most emotional moment in this movie was when chewie heard about leia and broke down and collapsed and screamed
:(
us too buddy. damn
rey stealing kylo’s ship and yeeting away lmfao
and when she went back to ach-to and burned it and was like IM STAYING HERE 4EVA >:(
she’s literally the exact same stupid reckless as kylo and i love
rose was wasted in this movie. very annoying
i DID laugh when they said ‘we should pull a holdo manoeuvre’ like of course that’s the one thing jj took from tlj. ohhhh jj
loved finn meeting the ex stormtrooper lady. i always felt like the one weakness of tlj is that it dropped this thread of finn’s indoctrination that i thought was being woven alongside rey and kylo’s issues with their childhoods in force awakens. the look of wonder on his face when she said that the whole battalion defected.... and saying the force lead them to do it like it lead him... and you could see john boyega feeling that with his whole heart!!!
i laughed at palps’ fleet of star destroyers that like all have death star capabilities now? so dumb
and also, a star destroyer is basically an aircraft carrier.... do you think the people who make star wars realise the empire is america? no...??? alright imma head out
missed opportunity for a shot of jar jar or a gungan when the galaxy fleet showed up like those towboats at dunkirk. to be HONEST
where did sheev palps find that stadium of goons? are they on retainer?
yeah so palpatine’s lair is the underworld and rey is eurydice and ben is orpheus. YEAH. YEAHHHHHHHHH
LEIA WAS TRAINED AS A MFING JEDI
THAT FLASHBACK WAS EVERYTHING FUCK
LEIA’S SABER!!!!!!!!!
i have Questions about leia ‘seeing her son dying at the end of her journey’ like ?
BUT HER PUTTING AWAY THE SABER TO PROTECT BEN!!!!
THIS FAMILY
fuck. benjy solo in that jumper.... USING A BLASTER LIKE HIS DAD.....
Tumblr media
THE X WING AND THE TIE FIGHTER PARKED NEXT TO EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!
PALPATINE CALLING THEIR BOND ‘AS POWERFUL AS LIFE AND THE FORCE ITSELF’
NOT FOR GENERATIONS HAS THEIR BEEN A DYAD LIKE THEM!!!
FUCKING
DESTINED
BITCH
THEY ARE EACH OTHER’S DESTINY? WOW SORRY.... WOWOWOOWOOWOWOOWOWOW
ben versus his idiot knights of ren.... yeah i love my son
sorry rey had a vision of her AND kylo sitting on the throne but the throne is.... one seat? what are the logistics here? her on his lap? him on her lap? both of them sitting on an armrest like awkward kids taking a photo with santa?
I THOUGHT ABOUT THIS FOR LIKE FIVE MINUTES COMPLETELY DISTRACTED
THE LITTLE SHRUG BEN DID WHEN HE GOT THE LIGHTSABER AND WAS LIKE ‘YEAH SORRY NOW YOU’RE GONNA DIE’
I SCREAMED. IM LOVE HIM
rey giving ben the saber through the force bond!!
ACROSS SPACE??? LOVE THAT TRANSCENDS THE WORLD
palpatine taking, SPECIFICALLY, the power of rey and kylo’s BOND to strengthen himself because it is THE STRONGEST THING IN THE FUCKING UNIVERSE???????? CANONICALLY????????
REY AND BEN FIGHTING WITH LUKE AND LEIA’S SABERS
FUCKING... I FUCKING....
when palps like flicked ben away sorry i laughed... i mean i was like REALLY? FOR THE BIG FINALE HE’S GONE? but i understood why and that rey is the hero etc etc
THE JEDI SPEAKING TO REY! OBI WAN! QUI GON FUCKIN JINN
yoda is there too
AND THE POWER OF THE JEDI FLOWING THROUGH HER!!!!!
god her power.... SHE AMAZES MEEEE
(initially i thought ben was gonna kill palps for rey because of the whole The Sith Live in My Killer thing and then she’d have to kill him but HOISTED ON HIS OWN PETARDDD)
palpatine:
Tumblr media
and the power was too much and it killed her ooooof
(the power of being a legacy... of channeling all that has some before!!! these movies get so ridiculously meta sometimes. best believe we’ll talk about THIS)
BUT HERE COMES BEN
BENJY BOYYYYY
his hair JUST long enough to be scraggly and devastating
literally dragging a broken leg
ADAM DRIVERS PHYSICALITY IN THESE MOVIES (WELL ALWAYS) (BUT SPECIFICALLY IN THIS ROLE)
and he knows
WHAT HE HAS TO DOOOO
HE FINALLY FOUND SOMETHING HE LOVED ENOUGH TO DIE FOR
I JUST CAN’T BELIEVE THIS
when he held her body holy shit... HOLY SHIT, GUYS
Tumblr media
FULL CIRCLE????CVMSDFJNVDSLKFJVLDKJFVLKJDBFV
A PIETA.... A FUCKING PIETA
OH MY GOD THIS MOVIE
and his heartbroken face.... stumbling back to her... oh my good goddd
and then
‘I KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO BUT I’M AFRAID TO DO IT’
HE DIED FOR HER
HE GAVE.... HIS LIFE..... FOR HER.....
I CANNOT BE LIEVE THISSSSSS
HE GAVE UP HIS LIFE!!!!! HIS FUCKING LIFE!!!
he fought.... his whole life.... and he gave it up....
THAT’S LOVE? THAT’S FUCKING TRUE LOVE HOLLYL SKDJBVDKBF
REVAN AND BASTILA!!!!! REVAN AND BASTILA!!!1
and then she was alive again!!! ROMEO AND JULIET OKAY WOW
AND
THEY
KISSED
I’M SORRY I DID FREAK THE FUCK OUT
HIS SOFT EYES
(super spoilery shot coming up here but)
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD
FOR FUCK’S
SAKE.
i’m sure people will be mad about how little kylo like... talked in this movie but like sorry this was perfect
she saved his life! and she saved the world! and he quietly gave his life to her, for her?
this humble act of love? PURE LOVE?
WHAT WONDERFUL AND TERRIBLE THINGS THEY ARE CAPABLE OF.
THAT THEY PUSH EACH OTHER TO
THIS TRILOGY WAS MADE FOR ME AND ONLY ME. THERE’S NO OTHER EXPLANATION
and her look of JOY and she said, ‘BEN’
Tumblr media
look. i have been on the record for YEARS as saying my dream endgame would be for rey to kill kylo and for him to be forceghost with her always
AND SOMEHOW UMMMM THIS IS BETTER?
1. SHE DID! KILL HIM! AND THEN BROUGHT HIM BACK
2. AND THEN HE WILLINGLY DIED FOR HER?
3. AND NOW SHE CARRIES HIM WITH HER ALWAYS??????
when his body faded and leia’s did too..... wo OOOOOOOOOOWWWW
SHE TOOK
HIS FUGGIN
LAST NAMMMEMELRKNWELKJBNLKJBFLKJBFKLRBJKLERJB

I did a thing. I turned the dream I had, described in this post , into a fanfic. But with a twist ending that I can’t resist writing. And I swear. I promise @h-theartist, that no one is going to die. It’s not going to be as angsty as the lightspeed AU...... Hopefully.
"I grow tired of this,” Tenebrous said softly, in a tone that had the light airiness of a sigh but too much weight to be anything else but a warning.
He regarded Hiro with heavy disinterest, no longer amused by the young teen and his friends attempts at heroics. It would be very easy to destroy all of them now, including the robot. A simple touch and they would all become nothing. But he wasn’t here for them. And although it would do him better in the long run to dispose of the heroes now instead of allowing them to become a greater nuisance, that wasn’t his objective. He was here only for the girl, and he has wasted more than enough time already, by destroying bookshelves and furniture, in trying to complete this goal.
He turned now to meet the terrified stare of his young target. The sixteen year old took a small step back, looking from Tenebrous to the fallen Hiro and Baymax half buried under books and broken bits of wood, then back up at Tenebrous. Tenebrous was used to seeing fear in the eyes of his enemies and targets. What is there not to fear about a man literally made of shadows and darkness? He’s a shadow that doesn’t need to follow the movements of a separate body.
Karmi couldn’t help the tears that started rolling down her face as she whimpered, tensing as her back hit a wall. She felt paralyzed under Tenebrous’s gaze, knowing she should run. But even though her common sense screamed to do it, she couldn’t get her body to respond. As if the weight of Tenebrous’s stare had the power to keep her in place.
She could only watch as he came closer and closer, and all of Big Hero 6 laid defeated. Captain Cutie trapped under pieces of several bookshelves, possible trapped under Red Panda as the robot tried to carefully manuever itself free without hurting its leader. Chop Chop struggling on the ground, wrapping up in little bands of shadow that pinned his arms to his side. Fire Jumper and Tall Girl were trapped in a dome made of the same.... substance?.... as the bands keeping Chop Chop immobilized. And Speed Queen was-
“Eep!” Karmi flattened herself against the wall as the little yellow disc flew out of no where from the corner of her eye, hitting Tenebrous in the wrist as he reached out to grab her. A larger yellow blur swept across her vision for a moment, before it solidified into a more recognizable figure.
Gogo grabbed hold of the villain’s wrist with one hand, and his shoulder with the other, using all of her strength to push back against Tenebrous. Neither Gogo or Karmi had noticed though, that Tenebrous’s form had been slowly losing its shape, the darkness losing its structure as it reached out for Karmi.
The darkness didn’t care though, it latched onto Gogo the same way it would have latched onto Karmi, engulfing her hands and racing past her wrists to overtake her elbows. Karmi watched in silent horror, as Tenebrous’s body turned more and more into a mass of darkness with wispy dark clouds clinging to the edges.
“Get.... off..” Gogo demanded, struggling to pull herself free from the darkness that was now traveling up her neck and down to her waist and hips.
In the back of her head, something in her registered that this was absolutely pointless. The darkness had an iron tight grip on her, so no matter how hard she tried to pull away, her arms wouldn’t budge. It felt like her back was flat against a concrete wall, with no room to give. And trying to push Tenebrous away was just as equally useless, her hands didn’t touch anything of substance. There felt like there was nothing beneath her palms, nothing but air.
“GOGO!”
Karmi blinked, not look at Captain Cutie as he struggled to climb out from under the books and broken bookshelves. She was too busy staring, as everyone else was, as the darkness completely swallowed the yellow speedster up. Her brain sputtered as several realizations began to slowly and terrifyingly dawn on her. But the one that stood out the most, that overwhelmed every other thought racing through her head, wasn’t her piecing together the identities of her favorite super heroes. No. The one thing that continued to race and race through her head, was that she couldn’t tell what part of the darkness had been Tenebrous and what was suppose to Gogo as it sank closer to the ground and then pulled itself up again, pulling into and against itself.
“Baymax! Rocket fist!”
The darkness shifted, turning what was becoming Tenebrous’s head towards the frightened boy and his robot. Hiro felt a wave of goosebumps start crawling down his back as he held the shadow’s gaze, watching as the eyes reappeared. Tenebrous made no move to get out of the way or make himself smaller. Instead, his body continued to take shape. The constant pulling amongst the shadows that made up his body was dying down, something that drove an icicle of dread through Hiro’s chest.
Tenebrous couldn’t help the smug look that stretched across his shadowy face, clasping his hands firmly behind his back. He wanted to savor the moment of shock and horror that would cross the fourteen year old’s face when he saw the rocket fist go right through him and crash into the opposite wall. Watch the hope and despair wash over him before finally returning to the task at hand.
That smug look vanished though, feeling the force of it as it flies into him, and doesn’t exit through him. Tenebrous can feel it, trapped within him, pulling him along with it like he’s a streamer at the end of a kite or the tail or a rocket. He can feel it, deep inside, something holding on tightly to that robot’s fists. A part of him is latched on to that thing and it won’t let go. He can’t bring himself to let it phase through him. It just... won’t.
“Let go,” He hisses, feeling as though the fist is trying to pull him apart. He can’t bring whatever it is in him to let it go. Why won’t he let go? Why can’t he let go? “Let it go.”
And to the shadow man’s surprise, it works. But the pain that comes with it is agonizing. His knees hit the wooden floor, right arm wrapping around his abdomen, too overcome by pain to move. He’s not entirely sure if he’s screamed or not, but he’s struggling to catch his breath as his body shakes. The entire library is engulfed in silence, the only noise being the rocket fist as it slams into the wall.
Tenebrous turns to look behind him, taking a shaky breath. His eyes widen, pain flaring through his entire body with a vengeance. He can’t tell if its a reminder of what he just experienced or a mere echo. That wasn’t what he meant by let it go. No... that-that shouldn’t even be possible.
“AAAAGGGHHHH!”
Fred’s battle cry startled the villain back to the present. Tenebrous looked up, just in time to a blaze of fire come towards his way. He raised his arms up, wrists crossed. And silently cursed himself for not realizing sooner that, in his agony, he lost focus and released the heroes he’d trapped with his powers. But, no shadowy dome appeared to protect him and instead the shadow man rolled as quickly as he could out of the way. The heat burning across his back and the back of his neck. Fred landed amongst the flames, and Tenebrous felt immediately uneasy when the most talkative of the group was deadly silent.
He heard the faint buzzing noise of Wasabi’s blade, before he hissed in pain as one swiped painfully across his shoulder. The other, however, swiped painlessly through his body as Tenebrous had intended. But that didn’t stop him from backing up from Wasabi, eying the man’s weapons apprehensively. Something was wrong, very wrong. This has never happened to him. None of it. And yet...
Tenebrous looked up instinctively, towards the discarded rocket fist and the crater it left in the wall. His eyes narrowed as he looked at the young woman, cradled protectively in Honey Lemon’s lap as Karmi hovered by the red head’s shoulder. He growled, cursingly silently before he regarded the other heroes. Wasabi and Fred stood, one on the far left and the other on the far right, preparing for the next move. And from behind him, the heavy footsteps giving them away, was the giant robot and Hiro.
Under normal circumstances, this would hardly be considered a challenge. But these were not normal circumstances. Tenebrous could not rish being defeated. Not by a child and his friends. No.... As much as it pained Tenebrous to consider, it seemed that today was truly a first for everything. The villain turned, fixing Gogo with a cold stare that sent shivers down Karmi and Honey Lemon’s spines, before his body began to sink into the ground. It was as if he were a melting popsical, his body losing its shape slowly at first but quickening the process with each passing moment. There was nothing but a puddle where Tenebrous was standing, a puddle of darkness that shot off, disappearing into the shadows cast by the remaining pieces of furniture not broken from the fight.
Wasabi, Fred, Hiro, and Baymax stared at the spot where Tenebrous disappeared through, all of them taken aback by what they had just witnessed. A heavy silence fell over them for all of two seconds though, until Hiro jumped off of Baymax’s back and raced towards Honey Lemon, Fred and Wasabi close behind, and Baymax waddling after them. Hiro slid onto his knees besides Honey Lemon, not caring in that moment if Karmi was standing literally right behind Honey Lemon. Gogo’s armor had been completely stripped of its yellow color, leaving behind a black tincture that Hiro couldn’t explain.
“Gogo?” Hiro says it softly, hesitant only because his heart just won’t stop racing. Gogo’s head is tilted down, Hiro can’t tell if her eyes are closed or half lidded. He can tell that she’s trying to catch her breath, but not because she can’t breath. Who knows what kind of adrenaline is racing through her right now, “Gogo are you-”
It’s at that moment that Gogo looks up to meet Hiro’s gaze, and he feels the words die in his throat. Her brown eyes are loss in the darkness that’s overcome the white of her eyes. Her eyes are all darkness, to the point where Hiro’s not sure if you can actually see her irises and pupils. A knot forms in his stomach though.
“Hiro?” Gogo raises an eyebrow, an action that sends chills throughout Fred’s body. And not the good kind, “What’s wrong?”
She doesn’t understand why no one is saying anything, or why Wasabi looks so freaked out he’s going to fall into hysterics, she reaches out to grab Hiro by the shoulder and shake him a little, “Hiro what’s wr-”
Her eyes widen as she watches her hand pass through Hiro’s shoulder, fingers sticking out the other side. And she suddenly becomes acutely aware, as fear washes over her, that she’s now not only literally sitting in Honey Lemon’s lap instead of on top of her legs, but there isn’t even the faintest hint of a shadow being cast by her arm across the floor.
-------
So... this was literally something I was thinking about in my dream as I watched my subconscious make the executive decision to instead make Karmi and Gogo swap bodies. Where either Gogo is just absorbed into the darkness that makes up Tenebrous and that’s that (which is very sad and very angsty and I don’t think I could do that after everything I do to her in the lightspeed au) or she’s yanked out of it somehow, but there are some... consequences. Because Tenebrous has never had anyone able to fight him back and escape his powers like that. He absorbs his victims into his shadowy body.
And Gogo’s not only been able to somehow get out (pure stubbornness and refusing to submit), she got away with some of his powers. He’s lost complete control of his powers and Gogo’s got some of it.
 *cue dramatic music*
I haven’t decided yet though if Gogo would be able to control Tenebrous or if they could be able to control each other. Like Gogo could turn off his intangibility. Or, if she uses her intangibility he can’t use his. And if he makes a dome of shadows, she can’t do the same in that moment. A part of me is also toying with that idea as well as the idea that, since neither of them have a shadow, they sort of are that for each other. Gogo lost her shadow when she got swallowed up and pulled out. Tenebrous is made of shadows, he wouldn’t have one hanging out at his feet. So like, occassionally they do little movements out of no where because the other person is doing it. Which would help explain sort of why Gogo has this affect over Tenebrous and why he might have it over her.
Either way though, Tenebrous is pissed. Our evil, super powered mercenary (haven’t decided yet why he was hired to attack Karmi, could be a number of reasons) is not at all happy about this. And he’s going to get his powers back, one way or another.

TRoS - what could have been.
I know for a fact that a lot of people hated TLJ with all their hearts and said that Rian Johnson butchered everything. Luke's character, Snoke didn't mean anything, etc and left no room for the next director to expand on the story. But, but, but- let me say this,
IF YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL WRITER, WHO WRITES FOR A LIVING, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO IMAGINE A BETTER STORY THAN WHAT WE'VE GOT.
Ugh, I have no hate for TRoS. I've written my review here. So, I won't say the same thing again.
Okay, now. Not saying that I could do a better movie, it's just that I want to write what TRoS could have been with what I, a mere fan with only one (1) braincell, imagine. As I am a Bendemptionist and Ben Solo is my boi, so Bendemption is the theme of this story.
So, basically a fanfiction but i'm too lazy to write a whole ass story. It's gonna be loong, as it includes my commentary and I'm on mobile, so there's no cut to read more. I'm sorry.
Boy, it's gonna be messy.
Imagine this,
The story starts with the crawl
-General Leia sends Finn and Poe to investigate why the allies weren't responding to the call on Crait and check on them.
-Rey continues her training by using the books she took from Ach-To
- Supreme Leader Kylo Ren although has the command of the whole First Order decides to do nothing (burning the galaxy to the ground or something) as to Hux's and Phasma's confusion and anger. (YES! PHASMA IS ALIVE AND WELL AFTER THE FALL IN TLJ). Hux, Phasma and the Knight of Ren plan to usurp Kylo Ren.
Now, let's start the movie!
- We have the scene with finn and poe on the ice planet thing but instead they are meeting with an ally, who said that the FO has cut all resistance communication. They were not aware of the call on Crait, until some of them find out about the legend of Luke Skywalker (the TLJ end scene). The FO watches their every move, so discreet meetings are held to give them- and the ally hands Finn and Poe, money- 'for the resistance' he said. 'there are many of us, you see'
- and then they are chased by the FO. Just like in the movie. Lightspeed skipping is nice, so, leave it be.
- Next, we see Rey meditating, but feeling frustrated. She fells something bad is going to happen. She hears the commotion in the resistance base as Finn and Poe arrive with the news. SHE THEN RUN THROUGH THE JUNGLE WITH HER YELLOW LIGHT SABER.
- The three of them meet, Rey gets mad at Poe because of the falcon. Poe gets mad cause she wasn't there. Finn is a dad, telling his children to behave. 'You know what Rey, either you be with us, or be somewhere else!' Poe says and leaves to find Leia. Rey looks hurt. 'You know he didn't mean that, right?' Finn says. They look at each other and nod. Bitter smile on Rey's face.
(I KNOW WE COULDN'T DO THIS BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF FOOTAGE, BUT HELL I WANT LEIA TO TALK MORE IN MY MOVIE)
- They circle around Leia,
Poe: We found out the reason nobody came to our aid in Crait-
Rose (YEAH, ROSE IS IN MY MOVIE, BITCHES. Rose is basically working side by side with Connix): General Organa, we received a transmission from Kajimi (i just love the name), it's from an old rebel station.
Poe: Are you kidding?! Kajimi is obviously one of the First Order stronghold
Finn: We should go there, ...find out who is giving the signal.
Leia nods solemnly and says 'We need every ally we can get' .
Rose: What if it is a trap?
Rey (looking at all of them emphasize at Poe): I will be there, with you.
- Cut to the FO having a meeting. Kylo Ren is overlooking the hangar.
Hux: We need to assert our dominance over the galaxy! They need to know the power of the First Order!
Phasma: Supreme Leader, General Hux is right. The Resistance is still out there. We need to wipe them out!
Hux, with his scrunchy face: ..and General Organa, YOUR MOTHER, is still alive.
Kylo Ren turns his back, fire in his eyes, looking right at Hux.
Hux, with loathing towards the 'supreme leader': She survived the attack, and you know, but you didn't tell us. ... Well, we found out.
Kylo Ren force choking Hux: Do not do anything WITHOUT MY COMMAND.
And left the room. Hux and Phasma look at each other.
- Kylo Ren in his quarters. He is in his Good Boi sweater. He's trying to sleep but hears voices. Snoke's voice 'Burn them, burn them all' Rey's 'you will be turn, i'll help you' Some rando 'a monster, a monster who doesn't deserves anything.'
The voices get louder. (GUYS, I JUST LIKE ANGST, OKAY)
'Having trouble sleeping?' Force ghost Luke is there. Watching him, being sarcastic to him. Kylo ignores Luke. 'Peace. That's what you thought you'd get...after you killed Snoke,...killed me.' Luke eyes soften. 'Your heart is conflicted, your mind will never be at peace.'
Kylo Ren gets up, approaches Luke. He's angry. 'I am not conflicted anymore. I am one with the Dark Side. Just like Grandfather was'
Luke looks at his nephew with compassion. 'You are not one with the Dark Side. You never were.'
Luke disappears.
- cuts to Rey in the resistance base. She is packing the jedi texts in her backpack and notices Luke.
Rey smiles, 'Master Skywalker.' Luke smiles too, 'Rey'. He looks at the books. 'Having fun with them?' Rey tries to hide the books and fumbling ' I, I.. 'm sorry. I took the book without your permission.' 'Ahh, don't worry about it. Yoda was right, they were never a page-turner' Rey is visibly confused. Should she really knows who Yoda is? (NO GUYS, REALLY, CANONICALLY SHOULD SHE KNOW WHO YODA WAS?)
'...but,' Luke continues, '...the force dyad. You should look into that.' Rey, turns the page of one of the books. She feels like she has read it before. 'A dyad in the force,' Rey reads, '..two force sensitive individuals but are one in the eye of the Force. A rare power that is unseen for generations.' (IF THE WAYFINDER CAN BE FOUND IN THE BOOKS, WHO IS TO SAY THIS INFORMATION ISN'T, RIGHT? EXPOSITION GUYS, WE NEED IT. I DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO LOOK FOR INFORMATION AFTER MY MOVIE ENDS)
Rey stops and stares at the book. She is thinking. 'Ever wonder why it is easy for you and him to connect across time and space? Why are you able to catch up with the lesson so fast? Why you two aren't capable of killing each other? This is the balance Rey.'
- A loud crash is heard at the hangar. Kylo who is sleeping wakes up as he hears screaming. 'it's the resistance! The are too many of them. The scavenger is here! Argh!'
Kylo gets out of the room in his pyjama with only his lightsaber and goes to the hangar. There's lots of smoke and he's at the edge of the hangar. When the smoke disappears, he finds that he is surrounded by stormtroopers and two of the Knights of Ren. He's confused. He looks up. Hux is looking at him with Phasma and the other Knights by his side. Smirking. Kylo knows he's in trouble.
'We don't need a child as the Supreme Leader. Spineless... afraid to do anything on behalf of the First Order. Do you want a leader so weak like him!' Hux's voice echoes throughout the hangar. 'You won't do it!' Kylo says to the Knights. 'You are The Knights of Ren. YOU SERVE ME!' He shouted.
'We will not answer the one with a conflicted heart'. The answer given by one of the Knights is simple. 'Let the child die,' Hux's voice echoes again '..afraid and alone.' With that command, the two knights wield their weapons and they fight. Kylo fights with all his strength but he knows he can never fight this many stormtroopers after defeating the Knights. His torso is bleeding and his face feels numb. Hux notices the Knights are losing. 'Shoot him!' He orders the stormtroopers to fire.
At the corner of his eye, Kylo Ren notices Rey standing there. Horrified. They look at each other for a second and seem to understand what they should do during the moment. Using the force, Rey stops the fire from the blasters while Kylo Ren take down a beam above the hangar, stopping anybody from following him as he hijacks one of the TIE-fighters and leaves the star destroyer.
-End of first act-
(AT THIS POINT I NOTICED I SHOULD HAVE JUST WRITE THE WHOLE FIC).
