Aka: the bureaucratic nightmare comedy where the Chiss come to collect Thrawn after the New Republic plaster his arrest all over the Holonet. It's one part office drama and three parts exasperation, just add a heavy dose of irony. I hope you enjoy.

A Sunday Writing Update

I recently began the planning process for a new Thranto/Ascendancy story. I’ve been thinking for years about how to write the Eli Vanto in the Chiss Ascendancy story my way, giving it the kind of feelings that Project Compass and TTWLB have instilled in readers while kind of addressing (read: not entirely, but kind of) addressing what a Thrawn who goes through DF’s iteration of canon before returning to the Ascendancy under siege would be like and I think I’ve finally got it.

Things I intend to address(in no particular order): The Grysk-Ascendancy war, Eli + the Sky-walkers (not) losing their Sight, Enoch’s unrequited feelings for Thrawn, Eli’s previously unwanted but not unrequited feelings for Thrawn, Thrawn’s MASSIVE self-worth problems, and history being doomed to repeat itself yet again unless everyone gets their sh*t together.

Based on the premise I expect this story to be in the 100-120k word range and I hope it will be something folks look forward to reading. I’ll post more updates here as I have them, and maybe even some little previews/concepts for feedback if anyone wants to provide it.
