I think at one point Carter mentioned that Scully was created after his mother. I remember thinking that he must have idolized his mother and that's why he could not imagine Scully having sex. He might have walked in on his mom "doing the deed" which traumatized him, so Scully is a way to redeem that image in his head- "get off my mommy"! Why else is he always co*k-blocking Mulder with Scully but gives him other opportunities.

Oftentimes on the show, babies and children seem to be correlated with some sort of evil. There's one episode in which babies are the spawn of the devil, and, of course, William could not have been conceived out of love but some nefarious conspiracy.

Do you think that Carter used the show as some sort of therapy to get through some of his personal issues? Some storyline choices are not what's best for the characters or the overarching story.

I have never heard this before! I only remember him saying something like considering Scully his dream woman or something?

I really don't know enough Chris Carter and his life to give an informed answer. I think he did include several things that had to do with his own life. Didn't he name Mulder Fox after a childhood friend? I think he mentioned writing IVF in cause he and his wife couldn't have children. So maybe.

Is there any information/updates on the premiere/release of A Different Man? I was hoping the film would be included in the lineup at TIFF or Venice Film Festival, but it's not in either one.

Not that I know of, unfortunately. I had also been hoping it would premiere at TIFF, but no such luck. I guess that means it'll probably come out next year? Or not lol, I still don't understand how any of this really works 😅 But hopefully we'll get an update of some kind soon!

Hmmmm. It looks like they deactivated both accounts. The person that ran the blogs is still active though! So maybe they just needed a break/they seem to be into some other fandoms other than 911.

I know some people in the fandom were not the nicest when they hosted a fic event. :/

so some things i learned as i was doing this:

-solo cups were not invented until the 70s, so scraps has a tin can as part of her tail instead

-hoodies WERE invented in the 30s but were generally worn by warehouse workers bc of the cold. they didn’t get worn by the general public until the 70s, so toodles and cosmo are Not wearing them

-leg warmers were invented in the 40s but also didn’t get popular until the 70s so glisten’s legs get to be naked. sad !

-GASHAPONS WEREN’T INVENTED UNTIL THE 60s. GIGI SHOULDN’T EVEN EXIST HERE. BUT I DIDN’T FIND THAT OUT UNTIL I WAS DONE DRAWING ALL THIS. OOPS !!!

We all know the semi-canonical ‘all the Robins know to hide/duck inside of Batman’s cape, even as adults’ thing.

We also know that Danny ‘is LITERALLY a ghost’ Fenton sucks at remembering his own intangibility while ALSO forgetting to look ahead of him.

All I’m saying is, Danny Fenton (or Phantom, if you’d really like) would absolutely SLAM into Batman on accident while running on roof tops and Bruce ‘Brooding Instinct’ Wayne doesn’t even think twice about letting the kid hide and scanning around for danger before there’s a record scratch of ‘wait who tf is this?’ kicks in.
