it sucks so bad that 'lightning magic' in every media is just some pathetic little strands of electricity. i wanna see some LIGHTNING. show me a magic setting where lightning magic lights up a room like the sun, and the bolt is only visible as an afterimage burned into your vision. I wanna see someone cast lightning and have the thunder rattling the room and shaking everyone to their core. i want lightning magic to be a split second blast of so much power it leaves everyone's senses reeling. c'mon guys don't you know what real lightning looks like? we can be doing so much better than this.

Her stomach is in knots, this is it I’m being sent home, she thinks as they walk to Colonel Harding’s office. Jack knocks on the door and Harding calls out for them to enter. Jack opens the door and nods for her to go inside. She walks inside and turns around as he closes the door behind her—not joining them. She swallows the lump in her throat and approaches Harding’s desk as he sits behind it—his gaze unreadable. “Colonel Harding sir.” She says in greeting, he holds a hand out motioning for her to sit.

He waits until she is seated across from him to speak. “I have some news from the states. Major Cleven is alive, he is a POW at Stalag Luft III in Sagan, Southeast of Berlin.” His voice is soft as he speaks to her, eyes even softer. Her hands are shaking and she fists them in her skirt.

“John?” She can barely choke out his name, she can’t remember the last time she spoke her brother’s name—it puts a bad taste in her mouth. Her chest rises and falls faster as Harding looks down at his desk, for a brief moment then returning his eyes to hers. That’s all she needs to confirm it to herself, but he does speak.

“We have no word on Major Egan.” He still has that soft tone and it makes her angry.

She nods and looks away. “Am I dismissed, sir?” Her tone is much too disrespectful for speaking with a Colonel, but his eyes are still gentle as he nods. She doesn’t wait for him to speak this time, turning and leaving the room. Jack is of course waiting in the hall for her—opening his mouth to offer some sort of comfort.

“For fuck’s sake leave me alone! I’m not made of glass, I’m not going to shatter if you lot look away for one second!” She yells before storming away. Jack does not follow her, more stunned than anything.

I am so bad at just giving a little, I want to give everything I have but there’s a lot more to the story you need to know before this chapter 🤭

but steve loves when you guys just sit on the couch, cuddled up with a classic movie on and the fireplace lit. if he felt you shiver at all, he'd get you fuzzy socks, a blanket, or a sweater to make sure you were extra comfortable.

I think there is something to be said about Rael being in a cocoon in the beginning portion of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.

In one sense, he is trapped by the constraints of society, his obligations, his family history, the world. It all holds him down with no clear way out. And yet, what happens to the caterpillar inside the cocoon? It comes out and becomes a moth. In much the same way, Rael finds his freedom through literal and metaphorical transformation.

Sleep deprived idea about a young woman being groomed by some semi old rich dude who is a social pariah.

MC pays to stay in the house for a while (for reasons I have to make up later but I have idea she is running away from her past or some shit like that) and notices how he treats the girl living with him.

How, he belittles her and eventually finds out he training her to fit some kind of roll, but she is not sure. He also treats MC like he wants to kill her or at least wants her out the way

Either way, its hurting the young woman, and MC helps her break free from her training and evenly gets her out and the guy arrested.

Go to guy in jail as he is laying bed thinking and mumbles about how he doesn't have to make cheap imitations anymore and pulls out a old picture of a woman that look just like the Mc who showed up.

You then see flashbacks of their interactions and see why you thought he was obsessing and chastising the one girl. He was only chasingtising her and had shifted his obsession to MC, but it looks like he wants to kill her for interfering, but he really just wants to touch and keep her.
