I don’t think I’ll ever get over how many people misunderstand the Misty black box scene in season 1. I wonder what they think now that (it seems that) SHAUNA is the one who ACTUALLY makes the Yellowjackets stranded out in the wilderness for longer, knowingly and willingly risking their lives because of her selfishness. GENUINE SELFISHNESS. Obviously there are other factors that relate to why she doesn’t want to go back, but threatening the others? Idk about that. No one could convince me that selfishness has nothing to do with it. I’m excited to see what people will say about her actions (as well as Tai and Lottie’s… although… I’m mostly talking about Shauna cause she’s the one who is threatening the Yellowjackets when they’re about to leave) But also I fear that people will look past it, and not understand how her actions are basically mirroring Misty’s with the black box but worse…

- shauna adores your innocence, she literally thinks it's the cutest thing ever when you two first get together, how you haven't done anything like smoking or drinking, how you wear whatever clothes you want without realizing the way people look at you in said outfits

- she will subconsciously baby you tho, she will of course stop if you say for her to but she loves babying you :( not in like a weird way but just in a nurturing way that shows she loves you dearly

- she has such a thing for marking you up for everyone else to see how your hers and hers only, a smile always forming on her face whenever you don't try to cover it up and you two go out being given weird looks by the amount of hickeys on your neck

- she tries to start out slow with you during your first time with her but she can't help but get rough at the sounds of you whining and moaning just for her :(

nat -

- she's the one who enjoys your innocence the most, the fact that you have barely done anything rebellious in your life leads nat to being the gf who will make you do reckless things and live life to the fullest, maybe getting arrested in the process (oops)

- nat also thinks it's kinda cool that you two are polar opposites when in public and you're wearing the cutest thing possible and she's just in her leather jacket and jeans, she'd rather die than use the word aesthetic for how pleasing it is, but that's what it is lol

- nat is also the biggest on the corruption side of things, to just break down those innocent walls that stop you from whimpering her name underneath her is like winning a prize to her and when you finally let go of feeling shy and innocent, she is going to make sure you know you're hers

- thinking of her teaching you how to ride her strap for the first time and she slowly coaxes you into moving your hips faster and make more pretty noises for her, smiling at your whines before flipping you over and just pounding into you

misty -

- misty definitely takes advantage of your innocence, most of the time without you even realizing it, which makes it better for her in the end when she makes you do things that you wouldn't do otherwise without her there, it gives her a sense of pride and that she's needed

- she also just thinks it's cute when you have little to no idea what's going on or when people try to flirt with you and you just think they're being nice, misty is one to get jealous, but just so she can take you back home and make sure you remember who you belong to

- misty is the second biggest on corruption imo, she loves how innocent you are, buying you pretty revealing clothing to wear around the house so she can have you whenever she wants and seeing your eyes widen when she grabs you by your hips pulling you towards her gets her going so bad she will take you right then and there

- roleplay is huge for misty, especially medical themes, and she loves opening your mind to those things and show you how to have fun and have a good time as well even when she's three gloved fingers inside of you and is degrading you beyond belief mixed with praises

tai -

- the only normal one (jk), tai is one that thinks it's cute and enjoys the way that your innocence is genuine and how it's just how you are, not like you're doing it on purpose or something

- tbh tai doesn't seem like she would get jealous because of it, will she glare daggers at whoever is attempting to flirt with you to the point they back off? yes. but she won't be verbal about it 😭 you go over to her wondering why the overly kind person just left and she's like "ah idk babe" acting like she wasn't killing them with her mind

- tai will make you be verbal with what you want, she won't do anything until you tell her what it exactly is that you want, loving to see the way you break down crumbling and soon start begging for her to do something, anything

- you cannot tell me this woman doesn't have a thing for being called ma'am, like you'd say it as a joke and she would immediately change up and tell you to say it again which leads to a newly found word to use when having sex

van -

- van thinks your innocence is a little silly at first (affectionately), how you don't realize the certain things you do would be seen as flirting or not noticing when others are flirting with you, they think its silly

- they definitely show you all kinds of movies you haven't seen before to expand your horizons of cinema and entertainment, especially the more spicy ones to open your mind to some things 🤭

- van grins so hard when you tell them you wanna try something that you saw in a movie or something else and immediately drops everything to do it, they'll take their time with you to make sure you actually want to do it before going down on you like never before

- van is into experimenting with anything, whatever you wanna do they will gladly do for you, you basically become their pillow princess/prince and they will make sure the neighbors can hear cause they just love the sounds you make when they're pounding into you with their strap

Thinking about how the frog guy that Lottie killed was the first active murder in the group. Jackie and Laura Lee and Crystal were accidents, Javi was too even if they could’ve helped him they didn’t actively kill him. Even Ben was a mercy kill, he wanted Natalie to kill him, he actively begged her to to do and was relieved when she did. In ep6, when Taissa is chosen to kill Ben she tells Van it’s not the same as killing an animal, but I think I’m the back of her mind she’s thinking about what happened to Javi. Javi was the closest they’ve come to murder until Ben, Tai was there, and like the rest she didn’t step in to help him, but shooting Ben while he’s tied up is very different, which is why she wants to distance herself from it.

Honestly idk if anyone told Lottie the precise nature of Javi’s death. Obviously she was told that it was supposed to be Nat, and the wilderness chose, that’s why she crowned Nat, but I’m not sure if she got the context of how accidental it was and how no one stepped in. I imagine she was told that Javi fell through the ice, but I think she equates it with an active murder, bc if you’re not looking through the guilt-justifying lens that the other girls are, it is murder. Lottie is horrified when Misty tells her what they’ve done. Maybe in Lottie’s eyes, it doesn’t really matter whether Javi fell through the ice or took a bullet meant for Nat; either way the wilderness chose, and either way it’s murder. I think in Lottie’s eyes, it’s as deliberate as facing someone and shooting them point blank. But, then, it doesn’t really matter who pulls the trigger bc it’s the will of the wilderness, whether stillbirth or drowning or freezing or getting an axe to the skull, it’s the will of the wilderness. When Misty killed Nat in the adult timeline she was aiming for Lisa, but now Nat is dead and the blood is on her hands and Lottie says the wilderness is pleased.

I say this bc if Lottie chose to believe that Javi’s death was ACTIVE murder, something the other girls seem to avoid facing, then it’s not so far a bridge to kill Edgar. The group murdered Javi, Nat murdered Ben, is it such an unbelievable stretch for Lottie to murder Edgar? This is what they are now. Aside from her justifications of WHY she had to do it, this group is accustomed to death and killing and she thinks they know that(they don’t) because she’s been facing what they’ve done head on: Lottie hasn’t had a vision since Shauna beat her up. She no longer has the blanket of active psychosis to shield her from what they’ve done. She is the one who would’ve objected, and did object to that first hunt, too late. Lottie KNOWS they’ve become monsters, that society cannot and will not understand them and thus they cannot return to it, she’s left her visions behind and sees clearly that they’ve been changed irrevocably. They watched a young boy die and ate his corpse, they tortured a man and ate him, they are past the point of no return. Lottie is the one who sees clearly what has happened to them now that the visions have left her, while the others justify and compartmentalize and avoid what they’ve done, she sees it. That’s what she picks Shauna, bc Shauna is the only other person who will face what they’ve become, and in fact will embrace it. The outsiders have to die. Shauna’s the leader now. Winter approaches. There’s no going back, there’s only violence.

do u really think the reason why lottie says nat was always "Its" favorite is bc she survived the hunt? ("we tried to kill you. and it wouldn't let us") or do u think the reason is much deeper than that? i feel like it might have been part of the reason but idk.

i think it could all mesh together! idk something about the way the queen got transferred to shauna (and perhaps another queen in the future) makes me think about it in the context of lottie's betrayals... i think of her disloyalties as pretty political and being for nat's benefit, even if they fucking crush her.

so the "its favorite" line recently has been striking me as a sort of admission that nat was the real queen, the first, the best, at least to lottie... and also nat's anger when lottie says that implying that the affirmation is too little too late. ughhhh.

but in a wilderness sense, i could also see her being the favorite! i fuck with the idea that the wilderness (if it is some kind of supernatural entity) is a little obsessed with natalie. i like to think of a small god pulling the strings and trying to push the most ethical among them to bloodshed, if only because someone so moral falling into depravity would be tasty to it... so i like the notion that "it" sort of got what it wanted when natalie committed the first act of true murder out there and killed ben.

but then there's the "it wouldn't let us" of it all too! i'm curious if we'll get more context for that this season. i think you're right that the line carries a lot of weight, but i'm not sure i understand the whole picture yet.

Is just me or does this season feel crazy predictable? I feel like season 1 + 2 each ep I was gagged? Like each episode had me on the edge of my seat. Idk if it’s the overall plot of the season, or the pacing, or the character development? something just feels off. It could also be that I’m watching the show with people for the first time or that it’s the first time i’m just watching it episode by episode.

Things that bug me (also if i’m missing some details i do have the memory of a goldfish)

Other tai just slipping in conveniently when she’s going to shoot coach and she’s NOT asleep - does she just have multiple personality disorder? is the trauma that made it develop from her grandmother passing or the plane crash? they could have put a scene or two of child tai sleepwalking/changing alters as a child, or another instance of other tai coming out in the previous season/or just subtle instances. BC it just seemed like a lazy/easy way to just progress the plot. but again maybe the rest of the season will tie it in better

The time jump is the biggest one. the cabin burning down was such a huge thing and to barely acknowledge that is wild. I also would LOVE to know how they survived the rest of the winter 🙂‍↕️ we have barely seen nat in a leadership role - how did she keep them alive? where did they live? how did they rebuild? once it wasn’t life or death how did they cope? this would have been a great place to start really developing the shauna/nat power struggle.

shauna being unhinged- i love it it’s great for her character and i get why she’s that way… but what happened to her relationship w tai? like yes she was unhinged in the second season but now it feels very shauna and melissa vs the rest of the group. ik she was pretty isolated in the cabin too but it feels worse outside? she has no other meaningful character interactions rn besides small one offs w nat…. also like give melissa more to her character esp if she’s a survivor? all ik about her is she stands behind shauna and yells one liners… like yea they kissed but how is that affecting shauna? is she realizing she was gay for jackie? or is she just dragging melissa along to keep her loyal to her? what’s keeping her tied to her humanity?

Overall there’s been just a lot of changes w/o context that feel jarring to the plot idk. this was also just a brain dump really! i def am going to rewatch after it all comes out fs 🙂‍↕️ this also isn’t to say i don’t love the show and im so happy we got another season!

guys, we know that mari has some "dumb jock" moments, but, that doesn't mean that she couldn't find a smart lie to tell the others about coach ben

it's clear she did that on purpose

especially considering that line she said in her story about the death of her little cousin:

"maybe there are two versions of reality. most of the time, the-the other one, the bad one, is-is...just hiding, or-or waiting, but it's all real"

mari is very aware of the power of the things we choose to believe, and also the power of the discourses we use to justify what we do

that line of hers is very show thesis in that aspect

(it might also be very much a foreshadowing of paranormal stuff going on, but that's for another post)

the point is, someone who is that aware wouldn't be "dumb" to not create a good lie to try to save ben

it's just that, when faced with the choice between helping ben and saving herself, she picked saving herself

not the most moral choice, i know

but it's a very understandable one

mari not only is outnumbered, but also with an injured knee

she would have literally no chance against the other girls if she tried to openly help coach ben

otherwise, she could end up receiving the "shauna beating lottie to a pulp" treatment from a bunch of extremely angry girls looking for a scapegoat to all their repressed anger

so, she made the choice to stay quiet

still, the next episode is called "12 angry girls and a drunk travis", which seems a direct reference to the movie "12 angry men", which has as its plot summary the story of 12 ppl selected to form a popular jury and decide the fate of a teenager charges with murder (ps.: i haven't watched it yet, but it's on my watchlist)

so, maybe mari can end up trying to subtly manipulate the others to try to not be too hard on ben idk

the point is, nope, it wasn't just mari being dumb, it was clearly an act of self-preservation, and it's why this show is so interesting, bc it makes us question what we would do when facing this type of life-or-death moral dilemmas

wow wow wow holy shit. that episode gave me multiple heart attacks. lottie killing the hiker seriously shocked me to my core. i love that she sat there all night smearing his brains all over her face. so incredibly perfectly deranged for her.

Melissa being shot was a very win/lose scene...Shauna leaving her behind even after Melissa begged her to stay...but Shauna saying "if she dies, you die" which was, frankly, very hot and protective. Sophie N. was NOT lying when she said they have a push/pull relationship. i wonder if that means they'll come back from this? if this does lead to the downfall of their relationship, I'm extremely disappointed we didn't really get any scenes of those few months they were together and by what it seems like, relatively happy. the look Melissa gives shauna at the end of the episode is so profoundly betrayed it hurts. ALSO, that means the origin of her arm injury ISN'T being shot by Shauna. is that seriously how she's gonna die or something? i mean, Melissa dying at the hands of shauna is delicious and expected, but it would be way too soon. so thats still a big scene from the trailer we still have no answers on.

ALSO, when Tai says Gen and Melissa are dead? Shauna's face was very weird. idk, suspicious. also, if there IS an eight survivor, obviously the other girls don't know about it, so it doesn't exactly rule that out. Hannah's daughter (from what we can kind of see through the window) doesn't really look like Hillary Swank so I'm still not convinced that's not adult Melissa. also, how would Hannah's daughter know about the symbol? or the queen of hearts reference? and who brought the tape back from the wilderness? AN EIGHT SURVIVOR, THATS WHO.

confirmation that it's been Other Tai for a long time now !!!!! just how long, im very excited to know. it seems like maybe the entire time van and tai have been together? but seriously, such a good plot point.

not totally convinced Shauna killed Lottie, though the evidence is damning. im highly suspicious of Walter so i dont fully trust what he's saying. no matter what, i think Lottie's death is not going to be what we suspect.

a thought just now: what if Shauna kills Hannah's daughter and that causes Van to get better suddenly??? omgggggggg

i think its fully possible that Hannah's daughter is not the stalker at all. as mentioned above, the stalker leaves a lot of clues that would require knowledge from someone who was IN the wilderness. Shauna repeatedly jumps to conclusions and blames anyone she can. what if she ends up blaming, interrogating, and killing another innocent person just because she's so angry and hurt and looking for someone to blame and hurt back, ONCE AGAIN? i still believe no one cut Shauna's break lines and no one locked her in the freezer. i do think that stuff was a coincidence meant to display Shauna's paranoia and distrusting nature. and also the power of coincidence that has so intensely taken a hold on these girls and caused them to make horrible violent decisions all throughout the show.

there BETTER be more shaunahat in the next ep i swear to god. i NEED to see them being weird and toxic again. Melissa being shot has left the perfect opportunity for that. i can imagine Melissa being angry but maybe also having a renewed desire to prove herself to Shauna? Its confirmed that she and Gen become close to Hannah, so i imagine she ends up confiding in/bonding with Hannah while she takes care of Melissa's wound. and i think Shauna is going to hate that. (just 1 more kiss though please please please yellowjackets writers WHY hasn't there been anymore just 1 kiss. maybe just 1 sweet little scene too c'mon. just 1 sex scene).

Tai is definitely going to kill someone. and adult Misty once again being the goat and being the only person to have a proactive mindset. Akilah you're too pure of heart. Akilah you're too trusting. Akilah you're too devoted to Lottie. Akilah get up i think you're next. AKILAH.

three episodes left...a lot can happen...i am a little disappointed that the chase scene in the teen timeline took the WHOLE episode. it probably could have been shortened a bit in lieu of some more crucial scenes...so far season 3 has been very on and off on the quality of its pacing. there are some times where i think its perfect and the exact of amount of stuff thats supposed to happen happens, and other time it feels too slow or too many scene are skipped over. why didn't we get any in between from spring to fall? but we DO get a whole long chase scene? its annoying.

but this episode was fucking crazy and i have faith in the finale three episodes and i will be living for them.

Soccer wasnt something you particularly liked or were obsessed over. It wasnt really your thing. But you liked the feeling of shutting your brain off, running on the field after a ball, either trying to steal the ball or pass it over. You only focus on the ball, your teammates and the opposite team.

Not on whats going on outside the field, when the game or practice is over. You just focus on the moment.

You enjoy the wind over your body as you run, chasing after the ball. You enjoy the adrenalin in your veins and you for sure enjoy the burning sensation in your body when you push yourself over the edge of your limits.

And today was not any different that usual.

You are running on the field, your coaches screaming at your team and as well you can hear the cheering of your classmates, other friends and teachers on the bleachers as the game was going on.

You got the ball and you quickly glanced at Nat, waiting for a signal from her to pass the ball. When she nodded you passed it to her.

You thought it went smooth, but that was until a godzilla from the other team decided to tackle you to the ground, by tripping you.

As you passed the ball and was still running not paying attention, thats when the fucked up godzilla from other team did it. You fell right down to your face with a somersault (?sns idk how to fucking say that word in english but google said this so, but at the end is what i meant🫶🏻) with a loud thud as your head hit the ground. You groaned as you laid on the field on your side and rolled on your back with your hands over your now bloody face saying a loud muffled 'fuck' thru your hands.

Everyone stopped what they were doing, even the other team stopped.

Your teammates run up to you and as well coach Ben.

"Shit are you okay?" asked Taissa as she crouched beside you.

"fuck fuck fuck" your keep repeating as you keep your eyes shut holding your bloody face. Your head was pounding, you could feel the metalic taste of blood from your nose slowly entering it down to your face thats covered by your hands at the moment.

"Shit" you could faintly hear Nat curse under her breath.

"Hey hey hey look at me" you could hear Bens faint gentle yet strict voice and you did as he wanted.

You could see Taissa, Ben and Lottie crouched beside you as the rest standed around you in a circle. Taissa and Lottie by your sides and Ben in front of you, next to your legs.

"You look rough" said Nat and Shauna swat her chest with a look that could be interpreted like 'girl shut up'.

You saw hazy, blurry and you felt so disoriented, the pounding in your head and the ringing in your ears didnt help at all.

Unknown to you, your bloody hand grabbed Lotties hand for support as you laid there like a fish that was taken out of the water, looking at Ben wondering why he asked to look at him.

Lottie held your bloody hand with no question asked and Taissa put a hand on your shoulder as form of comfort.

"Can you look straight at me?" he waved his hand in fromt of you, but you couldnt fully hear him, so you started as his lips but couldnt make it what he was saying due to your ears ringing and pounding headache starting. So you asked 'what?!' breathlessly and confusion written all over your face and he repeated it, you flickers your gaze around everyone, because you didnt cath it fully, you heard 'you look straight'.

With confusion and being disoriented you said "no im bisexual, i dont look straight".

You just came out to your Coach, the other team and confirmed to your teammates who didnt know but were suspicious that you are bisexual by accident.

You friends tried to sniffle a laugh meanwhile coach ben was flabbergasted.

Lottie was trying her hardest not to burst out laughing and as well Nat, Taissa and Van.

It was not on their bingo list for you to come out to them like that.

"No sweetie, he asked if you can look at him straight, your eyes are little uneven" Taissa said slowly, trying not to smile and hold a laugh so you could lip read what she was saying as you looked at her lips.

You mouth your mouth into an 'o' shape and your teammates giggled again, meanwhile Ben had his cheeks red. He did not expect for you to come out to him like that, in fact like never.

Misty just run with a towel and hand it to your bloody nose "Shit girl, you might have a concussion, your pupils are dilated".

When Misty said that, both Taissa and Lottie helped you to go to the bleachers where you sat, with now bloody towel up to your nose.

After a couple of minutes after Misty gave you some painkillers and water, Taissa decided to bring the topic back.

"I cant believe you just came out to our coach when you werent fully yourself" Taissa laughed and Lottie sniffled a laugh as both girls looked at you, sitting on the bench like a kid that got scolded.

"Well.. its kind of iconic" Lottie pointed out as she giggled, sitting next to you.

"oh god fuck me" you whined as you titled your head back, holding the towel up to your nose trying to stop the bleeding.

You knew you would get teased after this day, and oh boy you WERE.

At any given moment your friend could, they would bring that up and make fun of you.

Ben on the other hand was lowkey proud of you, he never got the guts to came out and it made him happy to know hes not alone, but avoided looking at you for few days when you all were practicing.

But after that, you and coach ben had this father-daughter relationship.

Oh and btw, you did get a light concussion and your team won after you got left on the bench with Misty and everyone went back to the game. The godzilla from other team got a red card.

I feel like in an omegaverse society alpha women traditionally are expected to have big families and accomplish a lot, so when Jackie dies I'd imagine her mother's slights have to do with how Shauna is such a rare breed, an alpha female, only 5% of the population contains alpha females and yet she was somehow never as special as her lil jack jack

Shes the kind of alpha that would have led rome or egypt. And yet. When she loses her omega she loses her way. Her power crumbles and so she hands the torch to the alpha she trusts most

Natalie- alpha as the runt of her litter of one and every class or group she's been apart of she was never the first picked alpha but when the group assigned her the leader everything changed for her. She was finally where she was born to be. Out in the woods she became the best version of her alpha. Lottie has barely had any screen time in this season on both timelines, I can see why people are calling out the writers.

Simone’s interview also makes it seem like they killed Lottie off to give Misty a citizen detective storyline or that the writers wanted to bring in a new girl so they dropped Lottie’s storyline.

I can understand why Lottie fans think the writers using her dying as a way to give Misty a plot for her and Walter to play Clue and to give Misty a purpose after Nat’s death. Especially when you consider that Misty doesn’t even like or care about Lottie, she never has and she was going to kill Lottie herself with 0 reluctance in S2’s finale. Or her death to bring Shauna and her daughter closer or drive them further apart- they could’ve killed Jeff for that. Callie barely knows Lottie. Or as a sacrifice for Van- another white character. Not to mention that it looks like Tai is going to murder her wife and son’s mother this season for more time with Van and no regard to the trauma of her black son- which is certainly a CHOICE by the writers. I can also understand if they are in fact bringing in another white survivor after killing one of 2 pocs in the adult timeline. It doesn’t look good.

There are 6 episodes left but currently it’s looking like Courtney and Simone got shafted this season.

My opinion is that I’m gonna watch the rest of the show to judge fully because for me personally I feel like i have to watch the whole season in order to really put this sort of guess out there but what I will say is I think ppl are getting weirdly parasocial about Simone and I think ppl are taking the words out of her interview to mean something completely and drastically different compared to reality. of course Simone is going to be upset her character died. she was deeply attached to that character, as a lot of actors/actresses get with their characters. I just feel like a lot of u are using her interview to make it into something that it isn’t. I almost want to attach tweets here cause they convey how I feel better about this but I also think ur opinion is valid and I do think yellowjackets like to shaft their characters of color a lot (which I was worried they would do for lottie tbh but idk i guess I’m trying to stay hopeful because I don’t want to disappoint myself early on)
