GNOME YOU ASSHOLE (I say as if I didn't go out of my way to read it instead of just ignoring it)
THE STORY IS SO GOOD BUT???? My heart is as braked as shit bro like there is no salvaging this.
Like usually personally when I come across angst I like to think of a way where they could still have a somewhat happy/hopeful ending
I'm tearing my hair out trying to think of one
I'm gonna go bald
-🐙
XD
I'm in a good mood from traumatizing all of y'all so in an attempt to save your hair: there is one good outcome — Price becomes an Eldrich creature too.
I kinda implied that the reader wasn't always what they are now, once they were just an animal that escaped death's sight and grew to become an Eldrich abomination by eating other souls. With Price's body now guarded by Reader and his soul claimed by them, he would basically end up consuming souls passively/without noticing and in a couple millennia wake up as an infant god.
And that Reader might come to collect the rest of his boys when they die too to do the same since they're his hoard and reader wants to protect what remains of him.
Whether the existence as an Eldrich monstrosity is better than death itself is up for question.
#gnome's tea break#gnome correspondence#🐙anon#idk these were just my thoughts while writing the ficlet#as i too like more of a bittersweet ending than straight up 'they died sucks to suck' ending

Boy King AU | Vettonso + Martian | 1.3k
There's something about putting the future emperor of the Holy Realm on his knees like this. About how easily he goes, how willingly, how obediently. What would his adoring public think if they could see him now. If they saw their beloved king pressed down like this, in the cramped space between Fernando's legs. When they realized their little boy king took it like he was a little concubine instead.
Fernando's bitterness is lifted away in moments like these, like taking off a heavy cloak on a winter's day. It was hard to feel humiliated about his own situation when watching Sebastian debase himself like this.
He always gives himself up so easily. When Fernando threaded his fingers through his thick curls. When he pulled them, and then when he pressed his face down further down into the vee of his legs. Sebastian rubbed his cheek into the coarse fabric of Fernando's breeches and blinked up at him. Fernando had to smother an embarrassing sound; he was just like a little cat!
Sebastian quirked his lips up into an odd little smile and slightly rose up on his knees, "What's funny?" Fernando swallowed lightly and schooled his face back into being impassive, "Nothing. As you were." Sebastian simply smirked at him and let himself be pushed back down by the fist clenched in his hair.
Fernando scoffed internally, there was only so much pleasure in putting the other man in his place when he instead acted like this, this degrading action, was his birthright. He took to ruling and indulging in carnal pleasures as if they were of equal gravity. To be privileged to hold such high station and also let himself be taken apart like this…Fernando felt embarrassed for him.
He is dragged away from his musings when Sebastian moved to settle his hands in Fernando's lap, clutching his hips over the fabric and slightly squeezing; Fernando fought against the urge to shiver. Sebastian pushed up the skirt of Fernando's waistcoat and smoothed his hands over the opening flap of his breeches.
His eyes darted up at Fernando again, a daft smile on his face. Fernando scowled at him, "What?" Seb's grin sharpened, "You could stand to be a little more gracious. This is your future emperor, and future husband might I add, kneeling for you on this dirty, depraved, derelict- ah–" Fernando tugged on his hair again and hissed, "Well then, why don't you show me how eager you are to perform your marital duties?"
Seb licked his lips, completely unconcerned by Fernando's annoyance, and unbuttoned one side of the closure to Fernando's breeches and moved to open the other–
The door to the carriage flew open, arrival announcement dying on a wheezing breath as the servant took in the image the two kings made. One splayed across the seat, exuding power, the other kneeled, debauched, between the former's legs.
One would be hard pressed to determine which was higher on the totem of power and titles.
There was something gratifying about this to Fernando, about being caught. He had been humiliated enough throughout the entire courtship, what was one more thing? And, certainly, what was one more thing if he could drag Sebastian down into the dirt with him.
"Oh Mark, don't act so abashed! It's nothing you haven't seen before, in fact, we have been in this very position not even a fortnight ago!"
Oh. Yes. That.
It was hard to be completely pleased when he remembered how Sebastian had already spent years prior to their engagement sampling the palace's ample selection of fellow high-born men. And how all those men seemed to be completely and utterly wrapped around his little finger.
Fernando released his hand from Sebastian's hair as if it had burned him. He did not understand why he felt ashamed with Mark looking in on them like this. Fernando was the one marrying Sebastian, not Mark; Mark was just a lowly courtier who had the esteemed duty of spending practically every waking hour with the brat…something he himself was decidedly not looking forward to.
Sebastian stayed kneeling, staring impassively up at Mark, still fiddling with the clasp on Fernando's breeches. Fernando gritted his teeth and looked up from where he was watching Sebastian's clever little hands; Mark stared back at him placidly.
Mark's indifference made the entire situation worse. Fernando now felt as if he was not doing anything unique, not doing anything particularly new. How many other men had Mark caught Seb with in this exact position? Fernando felt like he was just another plaything of the boy king, soon to be boy emperor, except his position was forever, permanent. He was the "Kept King", the king who only kept his throne due to the whims of a boy who doesn't even understand what power is.
Mark coughed, "Well," he says, "Your Majesty, I do believe you have a meeting to attend." Seb pouted at him and whined, "We were just getting to the main course," but still braced himself on Fernando's thighs and got up off the carriage floor.
Seb pranced down the steps Mark had placed next to the carriage, miming tripping sown the stairs, snickering when his action made Mark reflexively reach out to grab him, and then playfully skipped off the final step.
Fernando couldn't help but stare as Mark made the weirdest grimace in response, and he inexplicably felt all his mortification seep away from him. Huh. Maybe Mark is-
Seb then turned around and frowned at him, seemingly disappointed, but his eyes are deceivingly sharp, "Fernando, I regret to inform you that I have other duties I must attend to, you will simply have to wait." He then grinned up at Mark next to him and giggled as the other man stiffened when Sebastian looped both of his arms through Mark's.
He leaned all his weight on the other man, Mark not so much as shifting his weight, "Oh Mark, won't you carry me back to the palace? I'm so very tired after all the horse riding," Seb looked up at him imploringly.
Fernando observed as Mark rolled his eyes and shrugged off the man, though notably not pulling his arm from Seb's grasp, and he got the distinct feeling that this exact scene had been played out countless times before.
Fernando clenched his jaw as he watched Seb turn and saunter off, Mark trotting alongside him like a loyal dog. Fernando was supposed to be the unaffected one in this partnership, the unflustered one, the unconcerned one. And yet here he stood, in broad daylight, in a foreign kingdom, on the steps of a carriage with his breeches half unbuttoned and his cravat in disarray.
He heard a cough from beside him, jolted and looked to the side. Sebastian's loyal Horse Master stood there, lounging against the side of the carriage. Fernando had forgotten who had even been driving the carriage in the first place. After Seb has let himself be pushed down, his hair still windswept from their ride together, everything else seemed to fade away. His thoughts were reduced only to how he could mess up the younger man's hair further.
Jenson grinned at him wolfishly, and casually crossed his legs, "First time?" he inquired. Fernando glared at him. The other man laughed openly at him, "What? He's a busy man with big prospects. You're not his majesty's only conquest, you know. Now your throne on the other hand…"
Fernando seethed, it was one thing to be humiliated by the future emperor, but to be patronized by the king's horse boy? No. It would simply not do. He closed his eyes in annoyance, pinched the bridge of his nose, exhaled, and prepared a speech about how he was not about to be talked down to by a man who didn't even have a throne to speak of!
But when he opened his eyes again and opened his mouth to begin his tirade, Jenson was already wandering away to tend to the horses. Dios mío, Fernando was not mentally prepared to spend the rest of his life with all of these impertinent morons.

“Argh, Wanda, no– I told you, I hate these things!” You whined despondently while grabbing at her arm.
“Look, you only have to go straight in and see it all the way through! It’s not like there’s any detours.” Wanda replied while giving you a deadpan look.
You returned the look with your own mocking face, “Wan, you know that isn’t the reason why I hate these things! They grab at you and try to scare you.” You shivered at the thought of one of the maze actors dragging you away somewhere where you couldn’t be found.
“Well…that is their job, y’know?” Wanda said, holding her chin in mock thought. You scoffed and shoved her playfully while she giggled at you.
“Plus, it’s so hot out! It’s probably so stuffy in there, especially if we go in with a random group.” You complained while attempting to fan yourself while holding your hair up off your neck. This summer was brutal, you couldn’t believe that anyone would be at the carnival fair today. But alas, everyone seems to want to enjoy the last throes of summer.
“We won’t go in with a random group - Nat said that they’re going to meet up with us before we go in.” Wanda said distractedly while taking out her phone, assuming that she was going to be checking in with Natasha.
Your brain took a second to process what she just said before you froze, your mouth agape, “Wait, ‘th-they’re’? Don’t tell me…”
Wanda stood ramrod still as if lightning just struck. The finger that was twirling her own hair froze its mindless motions as she stared at her phone unblinkingly as she realized her mistake.
“Argh, Wanda!” You hissed out and covered your face with both of your hands in genuine despair.
Wanda held a guilt-ridden expression, “Oh no, I’m so sorry, chip – I completely forgot that he would be coming-- honest!”
You released a heavy sigh and closed your eyes to mentally prepare yourself for dealing with the person that you despised the most in this world.
Steve Rogers. The bane of your existence.
Well, not really (-ish).
He also happened to be a guy that you have been crushing on since you were 10 years old.
Did he know this? No. But even if he did, you would be the last person on Earth that he would pick. How do you know this, do you ask?
You and Steve knew each other since you were basically in diapers. Alongside Bucky and Nat, the four of you grew up together. Although, that didn’t stop you from drawing the short end of the stick when dealing with your pre-pubescent teen years.
You were a late bloomer– while Nat developed boobs and became a natural flirt at 13 years of age, you were still dealing with the bullies at 13 years old whilst trying to navigate hormones, underdeveloped boobs and pre-teen acne. Bucky quickly developed a barely there mustache and a smirk that made all of the other girls swoon (though, you were convinced that it was really just for Natasha instead). And Steve…well, Steve was like you. Underdeveloped, skinny, no hair to be found on his face. He was as tall as you, and dealt with the bullies way worse off than you ever had to do.
But that didn’t stop you from falling in love with Steve Rogers.
Steve was one of your best friends. He always looked after you, whether it were mean girls coming to pick on you again or making sure that you got lunch together. You walked home together, stayed at each other’s houses to study or play video games. You developed a routine where one day in a week, you would order a chocolate chip milkshake while he got a vanilla whip at your local diner, and stayed there for hours just talking about your common interests together. Steve gave you your nickname, ‘chip,’ since he constantly made fun of the fact that you got the same milkshake everytime.
You also remember when the both of you decided to be each other’s first kiss. It was awkward and weirdly coordinated, but it was nice and you trusted each other. You both laughed afterwards and hugged, swearing to each other your friendship was still intact. When your parents would make playful jokes or tease you about when you and Steve were going to be a couple, you blushed and would shy away.
Where Steve was, you were there too.
You were basically inseparable as you both knew that you two were the underdogs of the group. Bucky and Nat quickly became the ‘It’ power couple as you all entered into highschool. Steve and you were the glue to your little gang and it just felt so nice to not be alone.
Thankfully, you were able to grow more into yourself by the time that you were 16 years old. Your skin cleared up a bit as you learned to develop a skin care routine, and your boobs started to actually look like there were two of them. Though, you never could quite get past the social isolations (despite the fact that your two best friends were the hottest and the most popular kids at school).
And while you changed a little bit, Steve…well– Steve changed alot. It was like one day he just woke up and became the guy that he was always meant to be. He started developing a build and grew a beard, had a huge growth spurt and joined the football team. He became strong and capable of anything. But, he was still Steve. He continued fighting for the ‘little guy’ even though he became on par with Bucky and Nat’s social class at school.
Unfortunately, with Steve’s new social status came the one thing that you couldn’t compete with: Sharon Carter.
Captain of the cheerleading team, it was almost natural for Steve and her to become a couple. You remembered the day that Steve and you hung out after school for your regular milkshake when he told you quietly that Sharon asked him out to the junior year annual dance. He blushed beautifully as he told his best friend the news, and you made sure to plaster on a fake smile and told him that you were happy for him.
After he took you home, you did your homework, took a shower– and as you got into bed, you cried yourself to sleep feeling utterly alone for the first time in your life.
Things changed after that. Steve couldn’t walk you home because he was walking Sharon home. He couldn’t play video games with you at yours because he was at Sharon’s. Then, he started canceling your daily milkshake hang outs.
“I’m sorry, Chip- I have practice to get to.”
“Sharon mentioned that she needed my help today. I’ll see you next week.”
But next week came and went, and still no Steve.
You quickly realized that Steve was blowing you off when you caught him making out with Sharon at the library in school when he told you the day before that he was going to be at football practice.
You didn’t mean to catch him at all - but you heard noises and glanced over to see him and Sharon behind the well-known ‘hook up’ section of the library. You squeaked in surprise since they were only half clothed, Steve with his shirt off and Sharon in only her bra. As you stood there shocked, you caught Steve’s widened eyes as they both turned to look at you. Sharon was pretty annoyed that you interrupted them (clocking her narrowed glare), but Steve at least had the decency to look embarrassed as they both put their clothes back on.
The shock of catching him in the act wasn’t as surprising (as much as it broke your heart, you knew that people in relationships would typically take it to that level fairly quickly). What was surprising was Steve’s reaction. You thought that maybe he would apologize for lying to you, or for blowing you off as many times as he did. But instead, he cleared his throat and his eyes became more stern as he didn’t say a word. He took Sharon’s hand in his and left.
You remembered standing there for another 5 minutes until you saw another couple glare at you as they took Steve and Sharon’s space. You didn’t even get what you came for– you walked straight home, crying, despondent over losing your best friend. (It was the movie scene where the side character gets discarded and cries silently in the rain - you felt so pathetic).
From that point forward, you didn’t bother texting Steve anymore. And he didn’t ever attempt to text you. He ignored you in the hallways and you didn’t ever look up at him when you would pass each other either.
Throughout all this, Nat and Bucky were there for you when you came to them about what happened and your waning friendship with Steve. Nat was pissed while Bucky looked confused as to how your friendship could change so quickly. Even though they were still close with Steve too, Nat and Bucky made sure to include you more during their hangouts or offer to take you home, which you felt grateful for, but it didn’t change the fact they had each other. And that you were still alone.
College was your wake up call to move on from Steve Rogers. You applied to universities that were all out of state, intentionally left your decision last minute so that no one could talk you out of it. Your parents didn’t approve but ultimately respected your decision.
You remembered graduation where all of your parents made you take a group photo on the bleachers. Nat and Bucky were on the higher step as you and Steve took the lower one. It was awkward as you two barely looked at each other, and fumbled on where to place your hands. It was Bucky who eventually groaned exasperatedly and placed your hand on Steve’s back while he placed his around your waist.
You recall the moment that really ended things between you and Steve, which was a party at one of Bucky's friends’ places. Nat and Bucky invited you to come in order to have your ‘last high school experience’ (whatever that meant). Unbeknownst to them, you were leaving the next day for settling in your new university halfway across the world.
The party was blasting obnoxious EDM and the house was littered with red solo cups and other kids yelling at each other as they played beer pong. Feeling so displaced, you took a beer and headed upstairs to look for an empty room.
Just your luck, you would enter the one that had Sharon (again, half-naked) on top of Steve (who was again, also shirtless) on the bed. You obviously interrupted them in the middle of something again. As they both turned to look at you, Sharon groaned your name in annoyance with an ‘ugh, seriously?!” and for you to ‘‘get out.’’ You couldn’t help but ignore her as you looked at Steve once more.
He had this same look of annoyance in his eyes as he sat up on the bed that was so unfamiliar. You’ve never seen Steve look at you like that before– as if you were a nuisance or some sort of insignificant thing. It was the same look that he gave you at the library. He became the bully that he used to protect you from when you were kids.
Something took over you in that moment where you felt your already fragile heart just shatter into several pieces. Though, somehow, all traces of self-pity and loneliness left your body as you coldly looked over at this stranger that you realized you maybe never really knew in the first place. In that moment, you tuned out Sharon’s nasty words, and only looked at Steve with an intentional, apathetic glint in your eyes.
The words just slipped out before you could even process them:
“I wish that I had never met you.”
You could mutedly hear Sharon scoff and give some sort of insult (you couldn’t really remember honestly) since the only thing that you waited for, and wanted to notice, was Steve’s reaction. You watched as the traces of annoyance in his eyes glazed out and changed into something that looked akin to shock, panic and something else that you couldn’t place.
Satisfied with finally being able to impact him for once, and to let him know how much you hated him in that moment, you turned to leave determinedly– you were pretty sure that you heard him yell out your name before you left but you slammed the door hard, ran down the stairs, and out of the house until you made the trek home.
You told yourself that night, as angry tears fell out onto your pillow in your childhood bedroom, that you would move on from Steve Rogers. That you deserved more and that you were going to make space for yourself in your own way.
As you settled into your new apartment, met Wanda as your new roommate (and now your certified best friend), you received a call from Nat and a text from Bucky.
Natasha was, naturally, upset at you for leaving without telling her. She made you promise to never do that again and to come to her more when you needed her. You felt one piece of your heart pull together again at how sincere and emotional Nat was on the phone. You realized that you may have also neglected your best friend when you and Steve were close, and promised her on the phone to never let that happen again.
Bucky sent a text saying, “Dude, what the fuck,” which is pretty polite for him, considering the context. You apologized and explained to him your desire to build your own life and while he was still mad at you, he expressed his understanding and respect for your decision.
Bucky and your relationship was never very close like Steve’s and his was, but he always looked after you (in his own way). You felt protected by Bucky in ways that you couldn’t with anyone else, and you knew that he would always ultimately support you as he would his younger sister. He told you to text him if anyone were to bother you, and you promised that you would check in with him daily.
You did receive one text from Steve: “I’m sorry for everything, chip.” That was all he wrote.
You glared at your phone and deleted his text, so overwhelmed with your anger and determination to remove Steve Rogers from your life. It seemed as if your lack of response was enough for him to get the message that you were done since he didn’t text you since that day.
At Uni, you really grew and developed into yourself. You became involved in college campus life, got a job as a TA, had a boyfriend or two. You dated one guy for six months before calling it off since you were better off as friends, and any other flings that you’ve had were short-lived or just didn’t land well enough to be in a committed relationship.
But you learned alot from these relationships and ultimately felt grateful to connect with people as you proved to yourself that you were something without the people back home. That you were more than the girl who loved Steve Rogers. You were proud of yourself for that.
Flashforward to now, you’ve just finished your freshman year of college. You’re visiting home for the summer to visit your parents, and to visit Bucky and Natasha, both of them ultimately decided to attend one of the local colleges. You kept your promise with them and stayed close, and even brought Wanda back with you– since introducing her to them last week, she became fast friends with your childhood friends.
You haven’t really spoken to Steve since that last stint in high school. Considering that your two best friends were still close with him too, and your families were all close, you couldn’t exactly avoid him. But you never talked about what happened in highschool. At the chance that you would see and interact with each other, you would greet him politely even though there was still some animosity there.
Steve wasn’t outwardly mean or rude, and he would try to talk with you more than once before in the past year, but you were evasive everytime in avoiding anything deeper than a “hello, how are you doing?.” You would stuff down the guilt from his disappointed and hurt expressions as you actively avoided him. You brushed off your friends who were begging you to try to repair your friendship with Steve– and just go back to school, blissfully living in ignorance.
But now, as you stood in line awkwardly waiting for the Summer Queens County Fair’s haunted corn maze with Steve (your friends suddenly “needing” to get some drinks or go to the bathroom while Steve and you waited for tickets in line), you felt like you wanted to pass away from the how thick the tension filled the air.
You could practically feel Steve’s tense energy in attempting to engage you in conversation. And damn him, he looked good. His muscles looked even fuller as they were accentuated by a basic white tee, and his beard- argh, his beard- only made his features even more rugged and handsome.
You hated the way that he could still make your heart flutter, even after all this time had passed.
“So,” you almost jumped when he finally broke the silence. “How have you been, chip?”
You felt yourself take a minute to defrost your stiff and frozen body as you turned to look at him. You met his curious gaze and said blatantly, “I’ve been okay.”
Silence filled the space again as your bluntness seemed to envelop the air around you. “Uh, that’s good. Are you…–how are you finding your classes?”
You looked back at him with narrowed eyes and just felt a rush of frustration move through you seeing his eager expression, that puppy dog look that always made you feel empathy for him suddenly made you feel annoyed and impassive.
“We don’t have to do this, Steve.” You said to him bluntly while crossing your arms defensively.
Steve’s own eyes narrowed in confusion and he swallowed heavily. He seemed to be thrown off by your comment. “I’m just trying to get to know you again, chip–”
“Well, I don’t want you to get to know me, Steve, okay?!” You interrupted him as your voice raised before lowering in the latter half.
Looking up at him, you met his eyes for the third time that night, but what you didn’t expect to see was that he looked so crestfallen and sad.
The guilt that has built up over the past few years swooped in and rested heavily in your chest. Instantly regretting your outburst, you sighed, “Look, I just think that we may be better off just not talking to each other, okay. We don’t have to try to be friends again just because our friends forced us to finally interact with each other since highschool.”
Steve winced at your cutting words, and he still had this sadness on his face as he looked down at his feet before he said quietly, “I’m not trying to…–I just…it’s been a long time, chip. The last time that I saw you, with Sharon and with what you said, I–,” you both winced in that quick rehash of the incident. Steve finished with a weary sigh, “Honestly, I just miss you.”
You frowned when listening to his words as the sincerity behind it felt displaced, and out of nowhere. You also couldn't help but feel concerned as you really looked at him. Outwardly, Steve looked as put together as he usually did. But people weren’t used to seeing him the way that you had growing up.
Looking closer, his eyes weren’t as bright as they could be, and they looked tired. Slight dark circles were forming underneath his dim eyes, shading his fully bearded face that was just a tad unkempt. He looked like he hadn’t been sleeping well and his shoulders had a hunch to them that could be perceived as calmness when you knew that it more resembled a tiredness or despondence.
Your frown was still on your face as you elected to ignore his declaration of missing you and simply asked, “Are you okay, Stevie?”
At your question, Steve noticeably straightened up and his mouth parted in surprise that reflected in his eyes. You both stood there for a moment as you stared at him with concern and him looking at you with…mirth? With your lips pursed, you glanced at him with narrowed eyes at seeing the humor alight in his eyes, brightening them a bit more towards its familiar shade of cerulean blue.
“Okay, what just happened?” You asked suspiciously.
Steve’s eyes brightened more and the grin that was growing on his face grew even larger into a soft smile. “You called me Stevie.”
You lurched back a bit as you replayed the moment briefly in your head and stuttered a bit at the realization. You hadn’t meant to call him that at all, but when you saw that sad look on his face and the signs of it on his body, you couldn’t help but recall moments similar to when you were just kids, walking home, checking in with each other during similar moments, but experiencing these things together.
“Uh- I– I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to call you–,” You blushed and stuttered as you tried and failed at attempting to save your slip.
“No,” Steve interrupted you, his smile wilting a little bit. “Please, don’t apologize for that. I,– I miss us when we were just kids. Nobody calls me that anymore, well, beyond Nat and Buck, of course.” He said sheepishly while running his hand through his hair, disheveling it even more into a natural, annoyingly perfect quaff.
You gave him an assented hum and cleared your throat as you looked back down at your feet, giving the flattened grass an invisible kick. You both were quiet again but the awkward animosity wasn’t as present as it was before. You both shifted on your feet a bit more before glancing up at each other from time to time, barely missing each others’ eyes before finally, your gazes met each other at the right time.
He was looking at you differently– this time with that good-natured smile and levity in his eyes that glinted at you with that same ‘something else’ that you couldn’t quite put a finger on a year ago.
His small grin was reluctantly infectious as you felt your lips start to curve upwards as a response.
“Whatever.” You rolled your eyes trying to stuff down your smile as you replied with a cheap response. Memories surfaced again of your witty banter that you used to share that always started with Steve’s little smile, and you couldn’t help but let out a small laugh as you opened them again to meet his own humorous gaze.
Steve’s soft smile grew into a teasing smirk, “That’s good, at least I got a smile and a laugh from you before you start to avoid me again.”
You only gave him an incredulous look at how blatantly out of pocket that sounded before letting out a sudden, full belly-laugh with him. You couldn’t believe that you were laughing again with Steve Rogers.
You felt this feeling again too - it wasn’t heartbreak, but rather, the shattered pieces that were shoddily put together again throughout the years felt solidified just a little bit more.
The laughs died down and the both of you remained standing there with genuine grins on your face. Before you lost your nerve, you felt a sudden urge to have him listen to you, to hear you, and to understand what really happened between you two.
“Steve–,”
“Chip, I–”
You both looked at each other and laughed for a moment before he indicated for you to go first. His grin looked so boyish and sincere, you couldn’t help but smile back at him as you two were just high school kids in Brooklyn again. Comfortable and authentic, together.
About to open your mouth, you get interrupted again by the person that you least expected to see on your visit back home.
“Chip? Steve? Oh my gosh, is that you two? Wow, chip! Look at you, you certainly grew into yourself!” Sharon’s pitched voice pierced the mutual bubble that was starting to form between you and Steve and flattened its existence.
You gave her a quick glance over and were internally surprised to see that she seemed to be exactly the same. Her eyeliner framed her hazel brown eyes that were widened in what looked like surprise, and with a hint of condescension (cause why wouldn’t she look down upon you with all of that pity). Her blonde hair resting softly down her back as she stood there in her floral skirt, her friends right behind her glancing over at you and Steve disinterestedly.
You stood there and gave her a fake shoddy grin as you greeted her back politely. “Sharon, wow, hi.” Your monotonous tone couldn’t be covered up in time before the words left your mouth.
She only gave you a dull hum before she glanced over at Steve with a smirk. “Hi Steve, how are you?”
The curious part of you couldn’t help but try to catch Steve’s reaction to her presence. You had no idea where things left with them since you left that day, and you never bothered to ask your friends either. Assessing him, he was looking at her with a nonchalant expression, and you were unsure of how deliberate his reaction was as he made small talk with her.
Trying to gauge his expression, there wasn’t any sadness present in his eyes anymore, nor was there any mirth. But, you did notice a stiffness there. The corner of his eyes crinkled a little too harshly as he forced a polite smile onto his face. You could see his jaw clench as Sharon droned on about her college experience.
Time couldn’t erase the fact that you did know Steve Rogers for some time– and when he was uncomfortable, he wasn't able to hide it at all.
The theatrical tunes of the fair and the echoes of people screaming in mirth and laughter suddenly came back in as you hear the booth employee for the haunted corn maze (this line was way too long for what it was worth) call for you and Steve to step on up.
You couldn’t stifle the quiet mutter under your breath, “thank god” as a wave of relief flooded through your body at being able to escape the dangers that you just experienced as you turned around to follow the employee to the front of the maze. You didn’t even say bye to Sharon, and you didn’t even realize that your friends hadn’t returned from their supposed tasks.
Your mutter may have been louder than you thought as you heard a snort from beside you. Glancing over, Steve was looking down at you with a returned humor that you just rolled your eyes at him. “Well, it’s not like you wanted to be there anymore than I did. Your tells are still exactly the same, Stevie.” You said derisively.
Ignoring the harshness of your tone, Steve only smiled more as you slipped boundaries again. You only caught it when you saw that he was simply just staring at you in response. Only then did you catch it and you rolled your eyes again with a small smile. His smile grew more as he intentionally leaned and walked into your path as you both followed the employee. You stumbled to your left at his deliberate clumsiness and shoved him away from you playfully before you could stop yourself.
You’re teasing around with Steve Rogers. And reluctantly admitting, you weren’t unhappy about it.
You both continued to shove each other away as Steve kept teasing you until you reached the front of the maze. The employee turned to face you before you went inside to explain the rules and you were listening attentively until you heard a throat clear from behind you. Looking back, you see that it's Sharon and her friends.
Trying to, but unsuccessfully, cover your agape mouth at seeing that they were actually following behind you this entire time, you clenched your jaw with annoyance and turned to face forward again.
The despair that you felt come in earlier from Steve’s arrival has returned tenfold with Sharon’s presence. Paired with the fact that you’re being forced to have entered a haunted corn maze, your hackles rise angrily at the fact that you’re being forced into a situation with both Steve and Sharon that you didn’t even wanna be a witness to, AGAIN.
Feeling suddenly so tired and exhausted, you let out a despondent sigh, “Okay, are we doing this or what?” The employee merely raised their eyebrows before motioning you to move forward in the maze.
You could feel Steve’s eyes following you as he tried to walk next to you, but you could hear Sharon trying to engage with him again. You could hear him respond but you didn't really care anymore. You didn't mean to be rude, but you were feeling resentful of all of it again. Especially hearing Sharon’s whiny voice trying to speak with Steve right directly behind you, you once again felt utterly alone.
Torches and string lights lit up the corn maze. Although, the night sky was void of any lights or stars, which made the maze really feel like a maze– isolated and desolate. You could hear Sharon’s two friends in the back muttering that they were scared as they let out occasional, little screams at any sounds that could be heard (even if it was just the wind grazing the corn harshly, or honestly, the sounds of their own footsteps, ha.)
Feeling so bored and wanting to leave, you turned around to just go back when you saw Sharon holding on to Steve’s arm with a worried look on her face.
You were passing by some rows of hay with a sticky red substance spilling all over it when you heard Sharon’s small screech.
“Omg, you think that’s blood?,” She said with a genuinely worried tone.
You wanted to laugh so bad as you looked over at Steve, just in time to see the rolling of his eyes and heavy sigh. She seemed to be grasping onto him with an even tighter grip and although Steve wasn’t shaking her off, he did have that uncomfortable look on his face again.
His second aggravated sigh and furrowed brows gave away his annoyance as he attempted to subtly create some space between his body and her touch. You turned forward again as the laughter erupted in your throat, but you managed to stifle it in time with a pursed smile on your face at hearing Sharon’s affronted noise in response.
You could read a mean girl from far away at this point – Sharon’s attitude wasn’t lost on you nor was her sudden closeness with Steve. But it didn’t bother you as much as you thought it would, even if you found out that they were still together after high school. Honestly, a part of you felt satisfied that Steve, the one responsible for the existing tension between you in the first place, was finally just as uncomfortable as you were. To see Sharon offended and to see Steve’s discomfort made you feel a sense of justice and a resurged faith in good ol’ karma.
That pride you felt in being able to find your own comfort in your healing made you feel giddy. You weren’t in any sense of a relationship that held any drama. It felt good to know that the forced proximity didn’t just affect you at this moment. Yeah, sucks to suck, doesn’t it?
You flinched a few times as you continued walking throughout the maze with some actors coming out to scare you, but as you saw the glaring red Exit sign, you couldn’t wait to get outta there. Speed walking at this point, you were determined to walk out of this maze with your gaze forward, determined to not look back at the two sore points of the past few years.
You made it to the exit and sighed in relief. You were already a few paces away when you heard Steve call for you.
“Wait, chip! –”
The body is a wonder - your mind was so fixated on leaving but when you heard him call out for you, your mind flashed to the both of you waiting in line, flashed to the sounds of your laughter mixing together, the feeling of him leaning into you. You didn’t want to but, suddenly, your feet just stopped in place and you turned around to look over at him. Hope swelled in your chest…
And there was Steve. And Sharon. Kissing.
You inhaled deeply at the sight, not expecting to have caught them, yet again, mid-kiss. The tension knotting in your stomach finally exploded, and your stomach dropped making your feet feel so heavy. It was like watching a car crash happening in front of you - you felt fixated and couldn’t move, turn away. The hope that was swelling in your chest evaporated like mist, and you felt so foolish. The pieces that were somehow lodged together again from your earlier interaction broke into pieces, and felt grinded into dust. The wind took its opportune moment to breeze through your hair, and it almost felt like it intentionally took your longing for your best friend again with it.
Steve gripped Sharon’s arms harshly, shoving her away from him with an angry expression on his face. “Sharon, what the hell?!” He exclaimed. Turning away from Sharon and her pouted expression, his widened eyes frantically found yours.
Even a few feet away, the panic that you saw in them was familiar. You remember seeing it exactly when you had severed the existing relationship between you and Steve that night.
You couldn’t help your reactiveness– you were feeling so triggered by what you were witnessing. Your vision started to get blurry as you felt that familiar burning sensation building in your eyes. The panic in Steve’s eyes intensified at the sight, and when he made a move to step forward, your feet instinctively took one step back.
Completing the reenacted memory, you felt your mouth press into a hardened line as you met his gaze with a ferocious determination. Familiar numbness rose up and a lethargic apathy just washed over you. You bravely met his gaze and although the words weren’t being said, you and Steve both heard the words.
“I wish that I had never met you.”
The truth was, the anger and rage that you were feeling (and let’s be honest, the resentment that you suppressed and just gaslit yourself into reframing it as healing) was just the surface. Underneath, a deep and hollow feeling of just being unwanted and undesirable bubbled up with a vengeance. You didn’t wanna hear it, but you were tired, were abandoned by your friend(s), and energy depleted from tonight’s event. You knew you couldn’t be there any longer.
Your feet continued to step back slowly as you heard Steve asking for you to please wait - but then Sharon took his arm again needily and you took that as your opportunity to bolt.
You dropped your teary-eyed gaze away from his almost desperate looking one, mumbled out a quick excuse and left with a brisk nod. It was just like when you were 17 again, you heard Steve call out your name again but you don’t stop to look. You didn’t see him staring after you so longingly and looking so dejected, nor did you see him blatantly remove his arm from Sharon’s grip again while they hushed out intense looking whispers at each other.
The parking lot of the carnival was in sight as you wiped away the bitter tears from your face. You knew that leaving was immature of you, and you knew that you would disappoint your friends. You knew that you were breaking your promises to Nat and Bucky (and now Wanda) about talking with them before making any impulsive decisions.
You reached your old pick-up and opened the door harshly. The tears wouldn’t stop as you stood outside the car. Almost child-like, your hands curled into fists as you brought them to your eyes and just sobbed.
For a moment there, you thought that maybe…maybe you could start again. Maybe you and Steve could rekindle your friendship, or at least, talk things through. You thought that maybe you’d be able to continue laughing again. You shook your head, feeling so much pity for yourself.
Heaving out another wilted sigh, you closed your eyes and tilted your head back to allow the fresh winded air to dry your tears upon your chilled face. You needed time to think, and you knew exactly where you wanted to go, and what you needed.
The sweetness of the chocolate shavings melted in your mouth, leaving only the sugary taste behind. You took another sip of your milkshake and made sure to swipe some whipped cream from the top for an extra sweet finish.
The diner was mostly empty, spare a truck driver or two sitting by the bar tops. You mindlessly stir your milkshake some more with the plastic straw and couldn’t help but relieve another sigh from your body. You came to the diner for nostalgia’s sake, and a chocolate chip milkshake was always a huge dopamine boost for whenever you were feeling sad.
But this time, getting your favorite milkshake at the diner left more of a sour taste in your mouth as each sip just reminded you of Steve.
You decided that you would try to bring yourself to feeling better before you left for home, which meant drinking your milkshake, making small talk with Betty (the sweet, old waitress who has been giving you milkshakes for free since you were a teenager), and settling the grievances that you could actually fix.
You instantly texted Wanda to let you know that you had left the carnival, and that you hoped that she was having fun going to the bathroom for the past hour. Instantly receiving an apologetic text back for ditching you with Steve, you figured it was as good a time as any to also let her know that she would have to ride back with Bucky and Nat (given the fact that you also had basically left her there too). She sent you the mouth wide open face emoji, and you knew that you both could call it even.
Nat texted you a selfie of her and Bucky pouting remorsefully. It was enough to make you crack a grin (Bucky looked so ridiculous). You demurely sent them back a picture of your middle finger (because you were the bigger person of course), which only had her text back an apology with an IOU. You knew that they were only trying to be your friends, but at least you would have this photo as blackmail for future purposes.
You started to play a game on your phone mindlessly when you heard the door ring, indicating a new customer walking in. Not even looking up, you proceeded to win the next level of the game until someone set another chocolate chip milkshake down on your table.
“Oh, it’s okay, Bet, I didn’t want–,” you started to say as you looked up. But it wasn’t Betty who dropped off the milkshake.
It was Steve.
Your eyes widened a bit in just processing that he was actually there, standing in front of you. He actually came to find you? The scene from earlier was so crystal clear and akin to your high school memory, you were convinced that that would be it. As you sat there staring doe-eyed at Steve, the scene had felt like it glitched as it was now playing out differently than you had expected.
Heat rose to your cheeks as your gaze focused on Steve’s determined facial expression. You turned forward to face your new milkshake and deliberately avoided his narrowed gaze. You could feel him still staring at you and you shifted uncomfortably. He didn’t say anything but moved to sit across from you in the booth, heaving out a heavy sigh of his own as he did too.
You kept your eyes down as the both of you let the silence permeate the air around you. A few minutes passed before you were about to officially just get up and leave when Steve broke the silence first.
“I swear,” he turned to look over at you with an exasperated gaze. “I had no idea that she was going to be there.”
A disbelieving scoff came out of your mouth and you rolled your eyes blatantly. “Steve stop, again, you don’t have to do this – “
“Stop saying that, chip!” His voice was filled with a sternness that you couldn’t ignore. Your eyes widened at him as he continued, “I’m here because I want to be, okay? Not cause Bucky, or Nat, or your family told me to or forced me to. I found you - and I asked you to wait earlier and you ran away, again!”
A glare scrunched up your face as your fury rose up at the audacity of his scolding, “Excuse me?! I didn’t want to wait because I didn’t want to watch you and Sharon sucking each other’s faces off, again!” You flourished your mocking with a tight expression and only caused Steve to oppose you even more.
“She was the one who kissed me – I didn’t want to be there with her either. I haven’t even seen or spoken to Sharon since you left!” Steve blurted out.
Your heart felt like it was racing in your chest and your mind blanked at hearing Steve’s reveal as you tried to stutter out a response. “What– I don’t–,” words were hard. You thought that they were together for some time during the year in college. With the way that Sharon was acting, you assumed that they were still interacting with each other, somehow, at the very least.
Steve took advantage of your surprised silence and continued, “God, chip. After what happened at the party, I just…I realized then how much I hurt you.” He looked at you with such remorse as you just continued staring at him. The hardness that was built over the years was still surrounding you, trying to protect you, even if Steve was professing his regret.
“When I heard you say that you regretted having ever met me,” you both flinched at the words as he said them, “and this look in your eyes…it looked like you really despised me and I felt it and I just–,” Steve cut himself off with another flinch and pinched his eyes shut.
“I let it get to my head. When I made the team and when people started to pay attention to me, when those bullies stopped bothering me and actually invited me to things, I lost sight of what really mattered to me the most and that was you. I know that that is a stupid excuse, and that I was hurting you, even way before what happened at the party and I was dumb, immature, and just stupid, and I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, chip.” He spewed out the words faster than he could coherently process them but the sincerity could be heard in his rushed tone.
His downcast, teary eyed gaze met yours and you felt your breath hitch slightly at the sight. Growing up with Steve, he was always the formidable one. He was the one who reached out first to hold your hand if you cried. The one to maintain composure and calmness while you were the one who was more nervous and panicked. To see Steve so out of breath, wistful, and low-spirited was worrisome and unfamiliar to you.
You were at a loss for words as you tried your best to process his words. Steve bit his lip nervously as he tried to gauge your reaction. When you only met him with more silence, the despondent look in his face only grew, “Please. I completely understand if you still don’t want to be friends, and after this, I’ll completely leave you alone. But honestly, chip, I can’t leave knowing that you still hate me. I- I know that’s selfish, but I can’t.”
You moved your stare to blankly look at your melting milkshake, the whipped cream completely evaporated into the cold drink.
“You hurt me.” You blurted out.
Steve almost looked startled at hearing your voice after such a lingering silence. “I know, and I’m so sorry–.”
“No, Steve,” You interrupted him indignantly, “you hurt me.” The tears blurred your unseeing gaze again as you focused enough to meet his own. The whimper dislodged in your throat as you could no longer hide the suppressed pain.
Just like that, the both of you were 15 years old again. You were crying after being teased by other kids or bullied for your flaws, and Steve was there trying to console you. The impact of these experiences were a shared burden impenetrable to your friendship together.
The difference now is that, instead of your tears being spurred by the mean-spirited popular kids, Steve was the one who committed the offense, a betrayal that cut so deep and you were the only one to shoulder the burden.
Steve swallowed heavily as he blinked furiously to hold his own tears at bay. He seemed to understand what you were saying as his eyes glanced over the different features of your face. He knew all of your vulnerabilities and ignored, neglected his care of you by treating you the way that others had growing up. He abandoned you when you needed him the most, and he had to understand the severity of that in the same way that you tried to tell him then as you were now.
Steve exhaled deeply as he looked over at you. His still despondent eyes held a layer of genuine understanding as he apologized despairingly, “I’m so sorry.”
You sniffled as tears fell freely onto your cheeks, your puffy eyes and pained expression causing Steve to flinch in his own despondence. You brought a closed fist to your face again to wipe the tears and winced as you suddenly felt strong, sturdy arms envelop you in a soft embrace.
The tears only came down stronger at the feeling of hugging your best friend. Not feeling so alone anymore, your heart cried out with you in relief as you turned and tucked your face into his chest, your arms moved to clutch his back. Once you did, his embrace only became tighter as he squeezed you to him closer.
You both sat there for a while, just hugging, soft sobs falling from your lips while Steve continued to repeat quiet, but earnest, apologies. After a year of animosity, sadness, and unresolved hurt, the both of you silently agreed to let this moment just be.
Eventually, your tears stopped running so harshly and you sniffled back your snot-filled nose very charmingly as you reluctantly pulled away from his warmth. Steve still kept one muscular arm around your shoulder as you looked up at him hesitantly.
“Stevie?” You began to ask. Steve responded with a soft hum for you to continue while rubbing your shoulder soothingly. It didn’t even seem like he noticed that he was doing it.
Before you could lose your nerve, you meekly asked, “Why did you start pulling away from me when you started dating Sharon?”
Steve’s hand froze and he stilled as if he were preparing for the worst. He sighed while closing his eyes for a moment. Taking a breath, he opened them back up to look at you with a resolved and honest gaze.
“When I told you that Sharon asked me to the prom, I thought that would’ve been the moment that you told me that you liked me the same way that I liked you.”
Your heart thundered so loudly in your chest as you gave him a shocked, glazed over expression.
He liked you.
“But then you smiled at me, and you said that you were happy for me, and, I guess a part of me felt like I was foolish to have ever thought that you would actually like me more than a friend. I continued things with Sharon because I felt like I had to get over you.” He said regretfully.
You blinked up at him a few times before you asked dumbly, “And that’s why you were pulling away? The lies and the fake excuses, or why you ignored me when you were with Sharon?”
Steve flinched with each question as he confessed, “Yes. It was really immature of me to ignore you. If I could go back and do it over, I would in a heartbeat.” An intentional look sat on his face as he expressed his remorse.
You released another speechless hum in return, still processing that Steve liked you. In a spur of your own adrenaline running through your body, you suddenly disclosed, “Steve, I did like you the way that you liked me.”
Steve stilled and inhaled sharply, “...W-what do you mean?”
Mustering up your own fostered courage, you exhaled deeply and said, “I liked you too. But I was your best friend. I thought that you were the one who didn’t like me, so I thought that if I supported you in dating Sharon, I wouldn’t lose you completely.” You felt your face scrunch in confusion as how ridiculously unnecessary this entire separation was.
He only looked at you with incredulity as he realized, “So, because we couldn’t just buck up and tell each other honestly in that moment that we liked each other, we ended up losing each other anyways?”
“Ugh, what a mess.” You revered and knocked your forehead against his chest ashamedly. You both were quiet again as he resumed rubbing your shoulder calmingly.
“Chip?” Steve suddenly spoke out.
Raising your head up to look at him again, still cringing from such a huge misunderstanding, you gave him a soft hum to continue his inquiry.
Steve looked down into your eyes, making you feel mesmerized with how deeply he was gazing at you. From how close your faces were, you could really see the subtle hints of green in his blue eyes. There was still some grief there as you looked at each other but there was again, something else that you still couldn’t point out.
Noticing that unknowing glint in his eye for the second time that night, you questioned him curiously hoping to finally find out, “What is it?”
“I like you.”
Your breath hitched at his confession, his eyes filled with mirth again and an honesty that couldn’t be faked. Your thundering heart skipped a beat as you felt your own spirit restore within you. You could feel those pieces in your heart start to build again.
You looked back at him with such relief as Steve pulled you in closer, you took in another deep breath as you responded.
“I love you.”
His eyes immediately glowed with an infectious joy, a genuine laugh and smile graced his face as he got closer to you. You could hardly breathe as you returned his loving gaze, his nose nuzzled yours gently until the both of you met each other halfway in a tender, first kiss.

hello sweetie! :D
i see that you want to write about descendants and i would absolutely love to share some requests i've been thinking about.
idk if you write ficlets, headcannons or oneshots, so you can write in the way you feel more comfortable! :)
so, the thing is, uma and harry (separately) x artist!reader (gn please!!) where the reader draw and write music and poetry about their lover/crush. i just want to see how they would react if they seen the readers art bcs i think it would be soooooo cute!
(im so sorry if you can't understand something, english isn't my first language.)
take care of yourself. love u!!
I love this so so much! thank you!
Hope this doesn't end up being too bad, I feel it was a little rushed (not because I felt I was being rushed just that I had a few thoughts that I needed to write before they were gone yk?)
I'm doing it so it's:
Harry Hook x painter/drawer!reader
And
Uma x music artist! Reader
To make it easier to imagine
Also I've kept it gender neutral dw and I've also written it so Uma and Harry are in Auradon when they meet you
Please feel free to request more at any point (I'm going to write for all descendants characters but mostly Harry Hook)
----------------------
Harry Hook
Let's imagine Harry has no idea who you are in the beginning
Some random person that's always seen drawing, painting, creating something.
He's seen some of your works hung around Auradon prep in expensive looking frames
He doesn't approach you for a while, in fact Gil is the first to meet you
Gil takes the same art course as you so you meet there when Gil had a bit of a paint disaster
Harry was originally cautious around you because he thought you'd be some stuck up art critique kind of person who was going to complain about Gil
But when you instead explain that you could see what he was trying to do but the actual execution of it wasn't great , Harry laughed with you
Overall your first meet was a positive one that was the beginning of a laughter filled relationship
Harry would always see you sat somewhere, in some weird position, scribbling away in your sketchbook
He eventually spots what you are drawing, or better yet who.
Him
He crashes.
All thoughts, Gone.
He's just staring at it for a good 5 minutes before you have to click your fingers in front of his face to wake him up.
"H- How, no, why are ye drawin' meh?" Heat rises to his cheeks and he slowly brings his thoughts back to Earth.
He'd already had been developing feelings for you since you two met. I mean you were nice to his friends, kind to him, he let you meet his sisters at one point and they seemed to even like you. You are fun to be around, you check that he's taking care of himself, you make sure he's not too bashed up from the sports he plays. What isn't there to like?
"You have a pretty face, nice to draw." He takes note of the blush that grows on your cheeks and the way you look off to the side with a shy smile growing. "I draw the people I like, the people I'm closest to."
His heart almost stops. Did you just try to kill him?! 'cause clearly you aren't aware of the way you make him feel.
I headcannon Harry to be Pansexual, as a pan person myself, so he was kinda well known on the Isle for being able to flirt with anyone he wanted for various reasons
But let me tell you, not once had he had the air knocked out of his chest from a few simple words.
You take his silence the wrong way and begin packing your things to go find somewhere to wallow in your shame, but Harry just drops to his knees in front of you.
"Please, draw meh, whenever ye want to." He is on his knees looking at you with the happiest smile he can muster and almost puppy like wonder in his eyes. "I'll be yours, if you'll be mine?"
Okay that bit came out a little too easy to him, he didn't really mean for that to happen.
But he can't complain since you agreed!
Everything you create for him, he treats like it's the most fragile item he's ever come in contact with
He's always showing it off though he's so appreciative of everything you do so he wants to show the entire world
When you feel down for not feeling your art is good enough, he's oddly prepared to show every bit of art you've ever given him with reasons on what makes it perfect to him
He may as well be prepared with a PowerPoint presentation on every one of your works he's seen
I fact he's probably prepared one somewhere, pictures, effects, transitions, the whole shebang!
He draws too, almost forgot to mention. I've got a little headcanon of him always doodling pirates on cool adventures when he was younger on the isle. I also like to imagine that there was a time where Evie and Harry liked to draw together but Evie drew Princesses and dress designs and Harry drew pirates which created some childish clashing between the two. So they'd stopped almost as soon as they started their little doodle hangouts
That's offtrack, sorry.
He gives you pictures of you in multiple different styles, each time it seems like he's trying to depict you as an angel of sorts
He also draws the Uma and the crew but he comes to check that he got everyone right with you
ART DATES.
YOU'RE GOING TO ALL THE MOST AESTHETICALLY PLACES HE CAN FIND
He may or may not let you take pictures of him for references as long as he can do the same with you, he's also pretty good at photography so he loves getting new picture of you with some fantastical background making you stand out so much more
Uma
Uma knew who you were when she arrived in Auradon, she'd heard your music played at cotillion
She couldn't complain about it, it wasnt her usual style but it was new and she liked that
When she had officially arrived she would notice you all around
Playing music for parties, proper events, even just around the school
Despite her not meeting you she subconsciously finds her way to you
She listens out for you whenever she can
She ends up actually meeting you thought Evie
Evie was designing everyone's outfits for a party so your fitting time overlapped into Uma's time. Uma didn't mind and in fact took the opportunity to tell you that she'd heard you around but hadn't had the chance to meet you
From then, you became quick friends.
Her feelings developed the more time she spent with you, she just loves listening to your music
She'd like to learn an instrument that would compliment your style of music so you could play together
She helps you with lyrics whenever you need the help
She first finds out that you write songs about your experiences and the people around you by looking at the lyrics for some of your songs
She finds it sweet that although you don't directly mention people, you can share the way you feel to them to those who will listen
But then she finds a song that's for her
I mean who else would it be for, she's the person you spend most of your time with and she's the pretty pirate with blue hair
She definitely looks over the lyrics and gets so giddy that she's kicking her feet with glee, when you walk in and see her smiling at the page she doesn't stop smiling
She immediately asks what you mean and when you tell her she latches onto you
Basically, she asks you out right then and there
Who are you to deny her? Of course you accept
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ♫ ⋅.} ───── ⊰
So sorry it took longer than I thought, and sorry Uma's part was shorter thats my dumb lil brain being dumb

Summary: One-shot with Gaz about him going wild eating out an AFAB Reader~
Genre: One-shot, ficlet, request(s)
Word count: 805 Characters featured: Kyle “Gaz” Garrick
Warnings: AFAB reader, no pronouns used (I hope, but I’ll change this if someone finds something that I missed!), explicit details about oral sex/cunnilingus, nsf/t!
A/N: Okay look, I know this isn’t what was asked for, but damn it, I know Gaz needs more material for him. And I’m more than happy to provide. Idk. I apologize, but I NEED this man’s mouth on me ASAP! Hopefully you enjoy regardless though ToT and thank you for enjoying my works! ( Gif credit: xxx )
He doesn't like to admit it aloud but he knows he turns feral when eating pussy. Or ass. Really, he's a huge oral fan in general.
There's times where he's content with just going down on you whilst you're preoccupied with another task. He loves the thought of you trying your best to focus while he's got his mouth on you.
So, when you confess you're in the mood to have him eat you out, he's all smiles because he knows it's going to be a good time for both of you.
Doesn't give a damn what you weigh, he'll ask if he can pick you up and sit you on his shoulders so he can eat your pussy while he's standing. When he has permission, it doesn't even matter if you have work that day, he'll convince you to call out. Says he has to "do it properly" or something of the like.
He'll allow the two of you to go about your day together as the two of you normally would. It's not till the two of you have some downtime around noon when he finally makes his move. He asks you to undress and you oblige, getting fully nude for him before he beckons you over.
The moment you're close enough to grab, his hands are on you. Pulling you closer so he could then slide his hands down to the back of your thighs, just below the curvature of your ass. With a cheeky grin on his face, Gaz was then making you squeal in surprise as he suddenly hoisted you up into his arms. Lifting you up until you had no choice but to sling your legs over his shoulders for just the slightest sense of stability. Even more so as he lead you towards the wall for your back to rest against.
"Doin' alright, love?"
You'd nod down at him in acknowledgement, reassuring him right as you saw his head disappear between your spread legs. Immediately feeling the sensation of his tongue swiping along the length of your opening, you released a keening moan. Your hips working back and forth against his face as you tried to chase that pleasurable sensation. Thankfully, Kyle didn't seem to mind one bit, grinning for a second before returning to the task at hand.
His hands splayed across the globes of your ass cheeks as he literally dug in, wiggling his face as he worked his mouth deeper into you. His wet and warm tongue wiggling forth till he was teasing your entrance for a few moments - causing you to huff and breathe harder than before - before pulling back. Placing wet, open-mouthed kisses along your puffy cunt till he reached your clitoris.
Gazing up at you with warm brown eyes, he made sure you were looking at him the moment he sealed his lips around your swelling bug. Sucking the hypersensitive bundle of nerves into his mouth as spikes of pleasure rolled up from your groin to deep within your belly. Twisting that familiar knot within you tighter as your head fell back against the wall. Your eyes drifting shut and mouth falling open in a silent cry as Kyle worked you over with his far-too-talented mouth.
His name along with a few cries and pants fell out of your mouth over and over till your mouth felt dry. Beads of sweat matting your hair to your forehead and the rest rolling along to soak into the roots at your scalp.
The ecstasy he was causing you to feel had you literally hot and bothered as you squirmed and ground your pussy against his face. Your thighs threatened to clamp down on both sides of his head as he ate you out vigorously. Moaning and grunting against your flesh as his mouth drifted away, giving your clit a break so he could leisurely work his tongue in and out of your fluttering core. Pulling his dripping tongue away just to introduce his fingers to your opening.
You'd been far too gone to really feel his hand leaving your ass so he could push his index and middle finger into you.
Kyle's calloused fingertips wriggled forth till he was sinking into the second knuckle of both digits. Taking personal delight in the way you writhed and cried out for more from him. Watching you lose yourself in your own pleasure just before he moved his soaked mouth back down to your clit, laving his tongue back and forth quickly and repeatedly till you were gasping and crying out that you could barely take it anymore. Grunting and practically growling against you as he works you over till you’re squirting against his face.
He gladly goes down on you till he knows you’ll struggle walking correctly the next day with how spent your muscles are.

wrapped [10th Doctor x Reader]
Have this small thing I wrote since my brain can’t come up with anything as of the moment.
Fandom: Doctor Who
Ship: 10th Doctor x Reader
Word Count: 315 - just a drabble/ficlet
Summary: It’s chilly in the TARDIS, the Doctor just wanted to do something nice for you.
==========================
The Doctor was pacing back and forth, he had just been told that you were about to head off to bed, and knowing that the TARDIS temperature was dropping, he was now trying to come up with a solution to an inconvenience rather than a problem. He was practically walking in circles around the TARDIS, ending up in different rooms around the said blue box, but suddenly, he thought of an idea, “I’ve got it!” his face lights up and turns around, “Okay, I need to find the closet..” he mumbles to himself, as he speed walks to look for the said closet past your room.
You realized that the TARDIS was freezing tonight, you didn’t know why, you wanted to ask, but you were too busy trying to keep yourself warm in the said blue box, but as the minutes go by, your fingers and toes were already cold, and you were practically shivering.
Meanwhile, the Doctor was in the TARDIS’ seemingly endless closet, looking for something, tossing some clothes and accessories here and there, causing endless clanging and cluttering noises, while you were trying to head to bed.
Before giving up and planning to roll up in your blanket, and hope to fall asleep with that idea, suddenly, the Doctor called you from the endless closet in the TARDIS. You groaned as you practically dragged yourself to the endless closet of the TARDIS.
As you entered, you only saw piles of clothes, scattered and piled up left and right, “Doctor?” You called out, looking for the man that was calling you earlier.
He suddenly popped out from one of the piles, “Oh hello! I found it!” He exclaims as he held out the thick looking, dark blue blanket, and places it around his shoulders before walking behind you and wrapping the both of you in the blanket roll.
You blushed a bit, as you were wrapped tight with the Doctor, it felt cozy, considering the two of you were wrapped like a burrito roll.
“Sorry about the TARDIS being so chilly this time.” He rests his chin on the top of your head, “I knew it’s bedtime for you, so I went to look for this.” He gestures to the blanket, “I hope you don’t mind this for a bit.”
“Not at all.” You sigh as you let him embrace you, wrapped in his arms and blanket. He rests his chin on top of your head, as you both stayed like that for a bit, as the TARDIS just drifts in space. ======== it’s been a while since i’ve written something, i’ve been trying to write about something, so requests are open, but yeah. idk what i’m doing is the tldr of this entirety.

LET DOWN AND HANGING AROUND (CRUSHED LIKE A BUG IN THE GROUND)
Ahoy! This is my first VERY LATE ficlet for @corrodedcoffinfest ! My absolute bad for being so late, but BOY am I HAPPY TO BE HERE!
Warm Up Prompt One: Taxed. Word Count: 1000 (scrivener says 1000 Wordcounter says 979. IDK Man, it’s within limit), Rating: T, Pairing: None, CW: Swears, Smoking, Angst Tags: Eddie, Gareth, Jeff, Freak
----
October 1987
They've been at this for fucking years. Eddie feels like a fucking girl scout.
'Well hello there Mr. Music Man, would you like to buy a box of shitty garage band metal?'
Except they weren't fucking shitty. All of the guys had been working their assess off, writing, playing shows, shitty gig after shitty gig after shitty gig.
But they haven't managed anything. Nothing, zilch, nada.
They had a small crowd showing up at the Hideout, and the owner, Benny, started letting them play not only their usual Tuesday but because Eddie had been helping him with placehe was letting them play Saturday nights now too, which was great because while he appreciates the likes of his uncle and Wayne's best friends on Tuesdays, there were almost twenty people every Saturday night and that was something.
They also had a standing gig at a bar in Indianapolis at least once a month, lately they've been playing The Barrel every other week and Eddie thought--he thought--that that would get them somewhere.
The guys were fucking exhausted but Eddie kept pushing because they could do this. Corroded Coffin was great. They were great and somebody was going to see that…right?
Eddie saw what they had. He did. But the guys--
"C'mon Ed, we can't keep sneaking Gareth into bars forever. I think we need to--maybe consider other options or--" Jeff rambles. They were supposed to be practicing but Jeff Williams had to swoop inwith his stupid common sense bullshit. Jeff motherfucking Williams is one of the best guitarists Eddie has ever had to the privilege of listening to, but Jeff wants to go college like a real boy!
Gareth cuts him off, "It's just the two bars man, and I have a fake, if I need it anyw--"
Would you look at that, it's time for Freddy to cut in. "Yeah, but you're three feet tall and have the face of a newborn child."
Gareth shoves at Freddy's chest. "Oh fuck off, man. At least I'm not a virgin!" He yelps and great. This is great.
Now the band is fighting, again, because Jeff wants to go to College, Goodie is a Virgin, and Gareth is short.
Eddie just want to play music.
If they all want to yell, Eddie can yell louder. "See. Do you see what happens when you start talking about 'other options' Jeff? Chaos--and not the fun kind!"
"See, Eddie--this is the fucking problem with you. All you care about is your music, your dream, It's all about you!"
Jeff is yelling at Eddie, Gareth and Freak are rough housing, how did this even happen. All Eddie wants is to do something. Be something. He believes in this, in Jeff, and Freddy and Gareth, in the band.
And he gets that everyone is taxed, tired. Eddie is fucking exhausted. Gareth is trying to not fail his senior year. He gets it, he does, but-- "You know what, Jeff?" His voice breaks, and isn't that fucking humiliating? "Some of us, don't have college as an option. Did you ever consider that?"
Eddie leans over and grabs his cigarettes from the table, before shoulder checking Jeff as he leaves.
——
What’s the fucking point? Eddie puts everything into lyrics that people probably don't even know, all of them spend hours writing and harmonizing, making sure chords make sense, just for everything to be a pipe dream. They haven't taken a break for anything. It's either work or school or Coffin Shit. They haven't played D&D in months. They've just been doing this.
But it's all Eddie has. How the hell was he ever going to get out of shitty ass Hawkins, if it wasn't this way? He didn't exactly ace his finals--even the third time around. Honestly? He's pretty sure they just let him pass, to get him the fuck out of there.
He lights up what feels like his eighth cigarette--it's not, it's his second--and stares out to the empty street. They use Gareth's garage to practice…for being as straight laced as she is, Ms. Emerson sure does believe in the band.
Dottie Emerson and Eddie. God dammit, maybe Jeff is right.
He should go back, he should go back and apologize, and let this go. He has the job at the Hideout, he can save and maybe move to Indy--play an acoustic at some bars or…something.
God, he's just so tired of this shit.
He finishes his cigarette, and tries to breathe. Breathe in--hold--breathe out--he doesn't realizes Jeff until he taps his shoulder.
"Hey." Jeff says, quiet. Eddie, just nods, grabs his pack and offers a cancer-filled olive branch. Jeff takes it.
Eddie doesn't say anything. Doesn't want to, doesn't know what he should say.
So Jeff does. "I'm sorry, Ed. I didn't mean to make you upset. I'm just fucking tired man, we all are and I do want this, I do, but it's fucking scary." Eddie turns, watches Jeff blow out smoke. "I got accepted to IU, did you know that?"
Eddie blinks. He did not know that. "No, you hadn't mentioned it."
Jeff turns to look at him, "I didn't want this to happen."
Eddie closes his eyes, takes in a deep breath. In--hold--out. "You should go." He forces a smile, watches as Jeff's eyes shine for a moment--no wonder he had that silly crush on him his second senior year, but it was only for like a week, leave it alone--before he srunches his face up, Eddie can't help but laugh. Jeff always does that, when he's stressed. It makes him look like a rabbit.
Jeff goes to speak, but Eddie cuts him off. "Let's do this Halloween show, it'll be our going away gift to our tens of adoring fans."
Jeff laughs at that, nods, and pulls Eddie into a hug.
Everything will be fine, with or without Corroded Coffin.
#worm brain#everyone buckle up cause I'm determined to knock all of these out#they will follow a story line BUT also stand alone#so note that even though eddie thinks this is the end thats a big fat lie#Steve is out there somewhere#and so will Corroded Coffin being famous as fuck#I promise#eddie munson#stranger thing#stranger things ficlet#pre steddie#cause BOY WILL THEY BE HERE#Corroded Coffin#All the boys. They are all here and they be fighting#corrrodedcoffinfest#worm coffin verse

do you have any thoughts on prussia and Canada non romantically? I think they could have an interesting dynamic that’s way overshadowed by all the shipping in the fandom, like they were enemies at one point and i think Prussia would fear Canada bc Canadians had a reputation of being really strong on the battlefield in both world wars. I think they’re def chill w/ each other modern day though.
I understand if this just isn’t ur thing, just those two are making me think thoughts and I cannot find any non romantic content of them
this was all sparked by your fic where Matt and jack are captured by Gilbert and Ludwig btw, I really liked how you wrote the dialogue there. Also you mentioned they had interacted before, care to elaborate? 👀
Oh, man yeah. Idk what precisely about prucan makes me want to jump in a lake, but in my universe, Matt literally took or nearly took Gilbert's head off with an axe in 1918 to slow the German spring offensive so lol yeah. That was his little side quest during the whole 'Alfred was mad Jack and Zee moved back behind the lines without Matt' fic from a while back. A solid quarter of Matt's war crimes were directly against Gilbert and Ludwig personally.
With the whole invisible meme and how practically every man, woman and child in Quebec participated in extremely severe brutality against the Americans and British in the 17th and 18th centuries and then threw our war crimes record on top, it's just too perfect not to write him as a trench wraith. Other nations have limits. Europe may stay their hands personally often because they never know when they might need that ally later. But Matt's never held back in his life. He couldn't afford to when he was small, and crawling on his belly through no man's land was easy for him. Ghosting his way behind enemy lines, spitting skulls and slitting throats is nothing new for him. He did that as a child, the wee freak.
And Gilbert did, too. Knight, crusader, zealot whose hand was certainly not stayed. Mutual recognition of being so fucked up they can't spend much time with the other without being reminded of some USDA Grade-A beef. I fully adhere to the headcanons that Matt's a walking flashback for Gilbert in some circumstances. But they get along fine. It's incredibly funny to picture a 1,200-year-old war machine chatting with Alfred or Arthur and then absolutely jumping out of his skin because Matt appears out of nowhere wanting affection or is just interested in the conversation. The whole anglophone world has swallowed Alfred's or even Arthur's perspective about Matt being the milder, sweeter version of Alfred, but Gilbert's specific situational PTSD just sweating bullets gives me life. It's a kind of cruel, but Matt takes utterly too much pleasure in it.
As for before that point, the long 19th century of Anglo-German fuckery as Anglo-Saxonism and a largely German monarchy drew Britain into closer cultural ties among the elite of Germany and Prussia; Gilbert often found himself in Arthur's company. They fucked a lot, mutually griping about their children. Gilbert and Matthew met and saw each other, and I want to rewrite that ficlet where Gilbert isn't exactly clocking him when he really should be in my current timeline lol. The part from canon about how everyone sees Matt in his early life as being a menacing figure at Arthur's shoulder greatly appeals to me. The guard dog with the loyalty and obedience of the best of Arthur's hounds.
Like at least once in a group drinking setting, Francois' arse has caught and kept Arthur's attention and Matt and Gilbert find themselves at a table having a conversation and swapping stories that would have them both before the Hague if they were more recent. And they just vibe. Both men depend utterly on the goodwill of often testy and impatient brothers. There is a loneliness of having one neighbour that matches fairly well with having mostly neighbours who probably hate Gil's guts on some level and loving women who could kill them. This absolute canyon of difference in how Gilbert is relegated to the museum display case, and Matt is an active, dynamic part of the world political system that keeps them apart.

Hii!!
Idk why, I kinda see Santino not wanting to stay still/get enough rest while having his wound stitched. So, John has to constantly tell him to try and relax and take rest and literally keep him in bed. Otherwise, his stitches could get torn. Because well, we know how stubborn Santino can be, his stitches probably got torn a little. And then he gets moody again, and John has to deal with him even more. But of course, Santino loves the comfort John gives him during all that. So, yeah, that was something I just thought of :3. What do you think about this? :)
Salut! Oh boy, this took a while, but it was so fun!! Santino definitely would be hard to contain, and so stressed about being unable to do anything. So here's a ficlet! :3
TW: blood, gunshot wound, crying, self-deprecation, suggestive of smut ;)
●・○・●・○・●
"No, you're not going out. You're hurt."
"It isn't a question, I have to." Santino was looking up at John with his moodiest glower. But even as flustered as he was, he wasn't able to get much color into his cheeks. He'd had a fair bit of blood loss after being shot by a rival clan. John didn't fully follow the logic of why he was shot - something about a retaliation for a life the Camorra had taken, which was in retaliation for a previous murder...it was exhausting just to try to untangle the chains of retribution. So instead, he'd just shot them dead on the spot. Nice and simple.
"I know this is stressful. But I will take care of everything. If they can't manage without you, that's too bad."
He gave a frazzled sigh and pushed himself up on one shoulder, attempting to rise. "It is too bad, it's no good at all. This damn bullet couldn't have come at a worse time. I - mmm..." But his words were lost in John's kiss. He whined into his boyfriend's mouth, which just spurred John into a primal enough mindset to shove Santino back against the pillows, straddling his waist and pinning down his shoulder with one hand. Even in this surge of dominance, he was gentle with Santino, making sure not to disturb the bullet wound.
"Stay down," he panted, both of them suddenly a little breathless.
"Well, when you put it like that...maybe I want you down here with me." Santino locked a hand onto the back of his hair and brought their lips crashing together again, his precious outing forgotten for the moment.
But it was not forgotten entirely. It was late in the night when John woke up to find Santino's side of the bed empty.
"Santino?" There was no answer. It was probably too much to hope that he had just gotten up for a trip to the restroom.
He bolted out of bed and down the hall towards Santino's study. Sure enough, he was sitting at his desk, writing with shaky hands that occasionally stopped to clutch at his side in obvious pain.
"What are you doing, love?"
Santino jumped, and looked up to see him. "Cazzo! [Fuck!] - don't scare me like that."
"I'm sorry. But you shouldn't be up."
"I had work to do," he said with a glare that broke off into a wince. This time, when his fingers brushed over his side, they came away covered in blood. He looked down at his hand and went pale. "What...John..."
"Okay, hey, easy." John was already on his knees next to him, lifting up his shirt to see what happened. "You tore your stitches. How did this happen?"
He tsked. "I don't know...I reached up to get a ledger from the top shelf, maybe that would do it..."
"Yeah. It's okay, we'll fix it."
"So irritating! I can't even lift my arms without falling apart, I can't do anything. I can't believe I let this happen to me, I'm so stupid." He was shaking even worse now. John took his hand despite the blood.
"No you're not. You don't need to do anything right now. Only rest. Let's go clean you up, okay?"
For a second, Santino frowned so deeply that John thought he might cry. So he wrapped around him in a tight hug. "I'm sorry you're hurt, love."
"This is bullshit. I just wanted to work...just get back on track so my schedule wouldn't be thrown off..."
He felt the shoulder of his shirt grow damp where Santino's eyes were squeezed shut against it, and kissed Santino's head in response. "I know. Come on, let's go clean you up before you lose any more blood."
So, for the next half hour, they sat in the bathroom, John gently cleaning and restitching his side while Santino sipped a juice that John had poured for him to replenish his blood. "An apple juice, seriously John? Like I'm a kid getting my blood drawn?" But John had insisted. And it worked pretty well. By the time John helped him back into the bedroom, he wasn't shaking anymore.
"I guess you'll say I can't work tomorrow either?" he asked.
"No."
Wrapped in his arms, Santino sighed. "You're going to be the death of me."
"I'm going to keep you alive. Just the way I like you."
"...Thank you for putting up with me, John."
"Nothing to put up with. I'm so lucky to be next to you."
Santino caressed his cheek and spoke softly, already on the verge of sleep. "Why did I ever get up in the first place? Everything I love is right here."

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably Joel. It's a death fic, but honestly it's not very good lol I have a death fic for Prospect that is mostly written that's gonna be wayy angstier, I just have to finish it
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
To see myself reflected in your eyes 💜 Cee and Ezra deserve to live a happy life thanks
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I haven't, I've been lucky. People have been super supportive and so so nice on my fics (I love you all).
tbh I don't think my writing is popular enough to get hate lol.
9. Do you write smut?
No
10. Do you write crossovers?
I have written so many crossover fics that will never ever see the light of day lol I do not have any on ao3
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of (again I don't think my writing is popular enough for either of these things to happen haha)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Tumblr user tlouobsessed and I cowrote a fic (sobbed in our dms together). I took all the ideas we had talked about and wrote a little ficlet from them and I consider that cowriting
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Oh, how to answer that. Willow and Tara (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) were my original OTP, I shipped them before I knew what shipping was. Nomi and Amanita (Sense8), couple of all time. There are more but I think those are my top two.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
No Light 😭 I have ideas but no rot left. Maybe season 2 will reignite it, but I just don't know. Also, Stolen Future, the Prospect death fic I mentioned earlier. Idk why but I'm having so much trouble just finishing it. I do hope to actually finish that one day.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I can write some good dialogue and fight scenes sometimes
I think I do a good job with storytelling sometimes? Combining different threads across a story to bring it all together. I'm thinking of how the present and flashbacks interact in By Midnight Time and something from Stolen Future
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I cannot describe things to save my life. All of my fics happen in empty white rooms good luck I hope your imagination fills everything in. It's such a fundamental aspect of writing that I am so so bad at lol I'm trying to learn from my friends and reading published books but it's hard!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Prev also said this but I agree, italicize other languages. Otherwise, go for it, but do your research if you don't speak the language
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer back when I was a teenager. Didn't know what fanfic was, but my sister and I had a LOT of feelings about Buffy and we had to express them somewhere so we wrote our stories.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
By Midnight Time. Now I just need to freaking finish it 😉
Although I'm also very very fond of Blood of the Covenant and Water of the Womb, a one-shot told from both Ezra's and Cee's pov
Absolutely no pressure tags: @orangechickenpillow @blooming-gwens @dilf-din @ellies-little-gun @ellies-enrichment @outer-edges @steeb-stn @wicked--loving--lies
#thanks for the tag bestie#i was so slow bc I cannot copy an entire post on mobile bc tumblr sucks and I simply never open my laptop lol

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @cellsshapedlikestars. Thank you!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
5.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
40,689.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
ASoIaF/GoT, mostly Jonsa.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Well, lucky me, I have 5, so you get to see them all:
In the blood (the first thing I published, and it predates everything else by about 6 months so it makes sense)
Your crimson hands all over me
My eyes were wide open
The poor thing in the road, its eyes still glistening
Darlings (my ficlet collection)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. I like the interaction, and I like acknowledging I saw people's comments.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
None of them really end with angst. I have an upublished WIP that would end in angst but IDK if I will finish it. Angstiest overall is probably "The poor thing."
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Uh, they all end on a positive note if not outwardly happy. The most lighthearted overall is my "Pumpkin" ficlet.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not much actually, and I've been theorizing about why while also being grateful for it. The rudest thing someone has said actually didn't bother me that much, and I had (I thought) a solid response to it. Shout out to the commenter who replied to that thread and agreed with me. You're a real one, whoever you are 😅.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Only pretty mild stuff. x
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nope.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Hopefully not!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Jonsa ...
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
So far, I've only published when I was 98% sure I was done with a piece, and I'll probably stick with that because it suits the way I write (out of order, feeling my way around in the dark, general chaos lol). But I have LOTS of unpublished WIPs, including multichapters. I am trying to believe I will finish the one that I am currently trying to make progress on 🫠, but how much I believe it depends on my mood.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Ummm rhythm of the text? I just made that up.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I rarely outline. I actually like the feeling of uncovering a story as I write, but boy does it bite me in the ass sometimes.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Go for it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Wrote and published = Jonsa. I started a Bellarke (The 100) fic several years ago but never finished or posted it. I only started writing fic seriously about a year ago.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Whichever one I've published most recently 😆. But I don't think I can pick. I'll just say "My eyes" because I like the concept and it hasn't had a second shout out here.

a gift from a person who asked to stay anonymous for @thehours2002 <3
Author's note: First Off, Happy Holidays everyone, and especially to my giftee. Hope yall had a great new year! I hope you like this little ficlet :) Writing in a male pov was a fun challenge, and I hope Barbara isn’t too OOC. Hope you enjoy it! Lastly, I don’t know when this fic would take place. Maybe in the abyss of time, idk. I think it's a couple years after the current season.
Jacob doesn’t know when he first noticed precisely. Melissa being part of the community was always kind of an open secret, one that she not so subtly threatened him to never speak about- something about privacy and it being her own business. And Ava once set a school-wide memo that if you implied she was hetero was grounds to get canceled via her Twitter followers.
But Barbara? Barbara? The woman who he struggled to admit to being gay in his first-year teaching? (For the record, he did sorely misjudge her on that front but still.) Like sure, she divorced her husband a year prior, but that didn’t point to Barbara Howard being into women.
So one day, when they were all sitting in the teacher's lounge complaining about the cold outside, he saw out of the corner of his eye that one of Barbara’s hands gripped Melissa’s hand under the table. Like…the other woman would leave at any moment. He didn’t mean to stare, really, but Gregory and Janine were talking to each other, and they kinda made it obvious they didn’t want him to butt in.
“You got to be kidding me,” Melissa muttered as she peered at her phone through her glasses. The hand-holding stopped.
“What’s wrong?” Jacob asked, his eyes glancing between the two older women.
“I have to go out in this weather; I’ll be back in a second.” The redhead muttered, shrugging on a winter jacket.
He noticed that Barbara scowled as Melissa left the room in a rush.
Janine and Gregory started to argue about the optics of How Nice Snow Is, so Jacob grabbed his mug and sat down next to Barbara.
“So…How do you feel about snow?”
“It's fine, Jacob.” He could tell she wasn’t paying attention to his questions.
“Yeah, yeah. I don’t love it either.” They sipped their drinks in unison.
She looked over at the window and frowned. Jacob watched as the older woman got up and peered out the window. He followed her up to the window, and they watched as Melissa talked to some…Woman.
“Who is that?”
“I don’t know.” She did not seem happy about that. Oof.
And then Melissa kissed the other woman on the cheek.
“I didn’t know Melissa was dating someone.” He said, squinting through the snow that was falling. “Nice she met someone, though, right?” He looked over to his window-peeking companion.
Barbara was gripping the windowsill.
That's when part of it clicked in Jacobs's mind, and his eyes went back and forth between Barbara and the scene playing below. It put a lot of things into perspective. Many moments that he just wrote off as them being friends in a different light. *
From there on, he kept a watchful eye on her. Part of him wanted to reach out and tell her he knew exactly what she was going through. But then he thought about it some more. His experiences were more about falling in love with straight men, and she was in love with a taken bisexual. Not really apples to apples there. And then it also dawned on him.
Jacob didn’t know if she knew what she was feeling. He was able to come to terms with it. He had boy bands to focus heavily on as a young kid while he ignored everything around him. He had moments to explore. Barbara Howard might never have had anything to help her with these…feelings if she even acknowledged them.
He didn’t really mean to pry. That was the last thing he wanted to do. But it felt like his calling to help her. Guide her like she guided him in the past. He repeated that phrase in his head on his way to the Kindergarten classroom. Jacob hoped she would still be here - the school bell did just ring, but it was Friday and people liked to bolt.
He knocked a couple times on the doorframe, and what he got in response was a muttered, “I’m busy, Melissa.” She didn’t even look up from the papers on her desk.
“Uh, it's Jacob?”
“Oh, Jacob. Do you need something?” She gave him a smile but then looked past him, and her eyes darted around to see if anyone else was there. Okay…weird…Anyway, how was he going to word this? Don’t be too forward-
“Are you mad at Melissa? I noticed you didn’t sit with her today.”
Okay, Too Forward., maybe even the wrong approach.
Barbara took a deep breath and sighed.
“Speaking for both of us, I think Melissa and I would appreciate it if you and Janine stopped trying to intervene with our personal problems.”
Confirmed.
“So you ARE mad at her.” Full Send it, Jacob! He moved into her classroom, looked around for a place to sit, and then decided to stand rather than stoop to sitting in a five-year-olds chair.
She sighed again.
“I am not mad at Melissa; I am just…not the biggest fan of her current life choices.”
“That shes dating a…woman?”
Barbara's eyes widened. “No! Oh, Heavens, no. I just feel like her girlfriend isn’t the best. She could do better.”
It's like he was transported right back to the sixth grade, where his one guy friend started dating a girl, and he couldn’t do anything than just get mad at him.
“What's wrong with her? Melissa seems happier than when she was with that other guy, uhh, the one who stocked the vending machines. Didn’t she date him like a year or two ago?”
“I know, I know. It’s just-” Barbara put her hand over her eyes. “I just have a feeling. I just don’t like her. Simple as that.”
Jacob tried really hard not to let his mouth fall open.
“You are not speaking to Melissa because you have a gut feeling about her girlfriend, and correct me if I’m wrong, whom you have never met?”
She closed her eyes. Then nodded.
“To me, it sounds like you are jealous.” Jacob shrugged.
The older woman looked away when the word “jealous” left his lips, refusing to meet his eyes.
“Jealousy isn’t Godly. And what would I be jealous of? Really, Jacob.” Barbara forced out a laugh.
Should he really lay this on her? Right now? He took a deep breath. You are Full Sending This, Jacob, helping to make this the Gayest School in Philadelphia.
“I think you love her. Maybe as a friend, maybe something more.” It was only when he heard the words leave his own lips did it fully set in what he said.
He didn’t wait for her reaction. He assumed it was something scandalized. Jacob booked it out of there faster than the speed of light. There were consequences to one's actions, and then there were consequences for speaking out of line to Barbara Howard, the best Kindergarten teacher in the whole city.
He was TOO forward. Why does he do this to himself? *
It was Janine who broke the ice. She visited his room on their break and interrupted his grading. He was trying to not be in the same room as Barbara as much as possible, but Barbara wasn’t interacting with Melissa at all, so Melissa was apparently pissed that everyone was ignoring everyone, so Janine finally cornered him and asked what happened.
“Jacob, why?”
“I thought I was helping?”
“You don’t share a hallway with them! Me and Gregory do! Do you know what it's like to have Melissa interrogating you on why her best friend isn’t speaking to her?” She took a deep breath. “This is- This is like ten times worse than anything I have ever done.”
“I know.” He pulled his hand over his face, dragging it down. “I messed up a ton.”
His friend came over and side-hugged him. A minute after the hug, Janine giggled.
“What?”
“I still can’t believe you told Barbara she might be gay.” “Me neither.” He moaned. *
It all came down to their garden.
They both simultaneously noticed that despite both of them ignoring it (in hopes to not run into each other) that it seemed to be doing quite alright in the winter months. Jacob came out one Monday morning after letting it sit for a week or two to find Barbara doing the exact same thing. It was freezing and quite dark from the clouds overhead.
“It’s still doing okay.” He said out loud, not really directing it to her, but more in amazement.
“It is.” Barbara paused. “I haven’t worked on it, have-” He cuts her off with a shake of his head. “Hm.”
They step down into their little garden together. They’re both quiet as move around the plants. It seemed like minutes pass with no more words uttered. Jacob looked at the tiny pea pods below him and sighed.
“I- Barbara, I was really out of line. I shouldn’t have assumed. I feel really awful for stepping in.” Jacob kicked a pebble into a corner. He willed himself to look up at the older woman. “I hope I didn’t make things worse for you and Melissa.”
Barbara looked at him with uncertainty. She then exhaled and fiddled with her long necklace.
“Jacob, Jacob. I was making things worse with Melissa. You just said what was happening out loud. You noticed.”
He nodded, a bit unsure where this was going.
“I do love Melissa. I’ve known her for many years. Maybe I do feel for her in the..the ways you said.” She paused and took a deep breath. “I don’t know. I think I have to think about a lot of things going forward, especially if it's obvious to everyone. And if it's gonna affect those around me.”
“Are you saying I helped you?” He was grinning, and he knew he really shouldn’t be, but sue him!
Barbara laughed.
“I’m giving you a maybe, Jacob, a maybe.”
They resumed their gardening with only a small interruption from Gregory, when he walked by and stared at them for a bit. (Why did he do that only when they were gardening?)
“How did you know?” She asked as she watered some vegetables.
“I fell in love with my best friend. His name was Scott. I had never felt love like it before. It surpassed the love I felt for my friends, which at the time were mainly girls.” Jacob laughed. “Well, Scott met Maddy, and he soon forgot about me and my Pokemon card collection.”
She hummed in response.
“When you first told me I was jealous, I couldn’t believe it. Me? Really? But then I went okay, yes, I was a little mad Melissa didn’t tell me about her new girlfriend. But then it went to: ‘I was mad Melissa wasn’t spending as much time with me.’ And then I just accepted I was jealous.” Jacob took note she was fiddling with her necklaces again. “I don’t think I loved anyone as much as I love Melissa. I don’t think I ever realized that until recently.”
“Thank you, Barbara, you didn’t have to share that with me. I- I feel honored.” Jacob felt tears spring up in his eyes; maybe he was finally cementing his place into their little work family, as Janine put it.
She gave him the ‘you are laying it on a little thick’ look, and he shut up.
“Well! If you ever want to visit one of my queer film nights going forward, you have an invitation.”
Her eyes widen. “Uh, Thank You, Jacob. I’ll have to, uh, think about that.”
It was then that a beam of sunlight finally broke through the clouds, and Jacob smiled as it perfectly illuminated the woman in front of him. Saint Barbara Howard, Indeed.

COBRA KAI SAPPHIC SUMMER WEEK 1 GOLDEN
***
HEY YALL
So uh. Remember that 10-minute All Too Well YasMoon fic that I’ve been teasing for well over a year now ???
WELL
LO AND BEHOLD!!! A few months ago, I started writing more than just lil ficlets and started creating this bad boy in FULL!!! So for cksapphicsummer, I’m posting a proper preview because a) fall color is a big thing here and it kinda accidentally fits the “Golden” prompt perfectly and b) god. I’m so proud of this funky little snippet. I’ve had so much fun working on this angstfic and I HAD to share my progress with someone. Writing the out-of-order slow burn of Moon becoming a simp who’s in way over her head has been fantastic tbh.
Also she only gets a mention here, but I had WAY too much fun creating Rosalie, Yasmine’s older (and to most everyone’s mind much cooler) influencer sister. Actually might end up including her in unrelated YasMoon fics too, because god, am I a sucker for sibling character foils :O Also it’s not fair that only Sam gets to have a sibling!!! Like give the other kids siblings!!!
…ironically, despite how spoiled she seems to be, Yasmine is one of the few Cobra Kai kids who doesn’t give off huge Only Child vibes XD Like idk. Idk. So much of Her Whole Deal strikes me as Bratty Overcompensating Younger Sister behavior XD
@karatecaulfield BIG pspsps, here’s a preview from A Big Fic coming up!!!
Preview under the cut!!! Enjoy :3
CW for some pretty crude language, and a character shouting a slur basically for shock value. But it’s one that applies to said character, so…I guess it’s reclaiming?
***
“You can travel the world But nothing comes close to the golden coast”
They were belting the lyrics as Yasmine swerved down mountain roads, rounding bends at what couldn’t possibly be a safe speed. It was times like these she thought she was invincible—away from the suffocating smog, under an endless blue sky, surrounded by fresh mountain air, free from the rest of the world’s expectations. Moon couldn’t tame her if she tried.
“Once you party with us, you’ll be falling in love…”
Moon glanced at Yasmine, and the words melted in her mouth. She burst out laughing.
Yasmine was never that unperturbed. She was all confidence and composure and power, holding onto her throne with tooth and manicured nail. Now she was just a silly, dancing teenager, shimmying back and forth and rocking her head from side to side like some kind of puzzled bird. One arm flailing about like the tube men outside of car dealerships while the other drifted on and off the steering wheel to lazily make turns.
She was grinning like she left all her inhibitions in LA.
“California girls, we’re unforgettable Daisy dukes, bikinis on top Sunkist skin so hot we’ll melt your popsicle”
Yasmine affectionately jabbed Moon’s tanned arm. Moon took a moment to be grateful the very ever-present spray-tan responsible was probably also hiding her blush.
“California girls, we’re undeniable Fine, fresh, fierce, we’ve got it on lock West Coast represent, now put your hands up!”
Yasmine did exactly that, whooping for several seconds. Moon worried they were going to hit the guardrail.
West Valley High’s queen bee self-corrected at the last possible moment, just like always. She grabbed the wheel and they made the turn.
There was something so exhilarating about her when she was like this. When she wasn’t projecting an image that didn’t match what was inside. Her voice was off-key and her movements were the opposite of graceful and every bit of control she usually gripped onto with iron strength flew out the window and into the alpine air.
And somehow, it felt like it used to when Moon finally came home after a long, shitty day of middle school, surrounded by stuck-up classmates and scornful, apathetic teachers. It felt like relief.
The song ended, and an ad came on from that annoying kick-the-competition auto dealer guy. As Yasmine complained for the seventh time about her parents not getting Spotify Premium, Moon looked out the window.
The road to Big Bear had more fall color than she’d ever seen. Only 20 miles outside of LA, and it was a whole different world—cherry reds and fiery oranges and sunset golds mixed into the deep green of impossibly tall pine trees.
It was all so foreign to her, always immersed in year-round flowers and greenery and subtropics. It seemed like something out of a Sunday morning dream, or a good shrooms trip. Strange—unnatural, perhaps—but tranquil all the same.
The aspen trees quaked in a sudden breeze. Several golden leaves peeled off their branches, glinting blindingly in the sunlight as they drifted to the ground.
Moon couldn’t quite explain it, but something felt just right. The energy…it was somehow perfectly aligned, all the stars and moons and planets in position for her to be driving off on a wilderness adventure with Yasmine Pyne.
The universe itself was humming in concord, like everything else that came before and after revolved around that moment.
Like it was the beginning of something too immense to see.
“What’re you gawking at?” Yasmine’s voice had a teasing snicker in it. “Have you never been to the mountains before?”
Moon shrugged. “Not since I was little. We only ever drove up here in the summer, though.”
“God, you should see your face.” There was a note of derision in Yasmine’s voice, but Moon barely noticed. “You look like you popped an E tablet or something.”
“Sorry, it’s just…” Moon smiled, shaking her head. “The trees are so beautiful. They’re reminding me of the healing crystals I still need to buy.”
“Um, what? Where is the connection there?”
Moon turned. The bridge of Yasmine’s nose was scrunched against her eyebrows, the way it always did when she was completely perplexed.
“The colors, Yas.” Moon couldn’t help but laugh. “The leaves look like citrine. Or…” Her gaze strayed back out the window. “Empowering jasper. Or harmonizing tiger’s eye. Or vitality ruby. There’s so many hues!”
“You are so weird, girl.”
Yasmine laughed, but there was no disdain in it this time. It was an affectionate kind of amused—amusement at Moon’s expense, perhaps, but with an underlying fondness that caught her off-guard.
Moon looked at the autumn trees zipping by, fiery shades gleaming almost as brightly as gemstones in the alpine sun. She started to shift them in her mind, imagining clusters of leaves as giant, glimmering jewels instead. A whole forest of ruby and citrine and jasper and tiger’s eye and topaz and carnelian, polished stones budding from the ends of delicate white branches. A beautiful, serene place, quiet and peaceful. A place of healing. No sound save birdsong and babbling creeks.
She wondered how much more vivid the image would be with caps.
“I’d actually love to trip out here,” she admitted. “It’d be like…the most spiritual thing ever. I feel like there’s a certain kind of ‘oneness with the universe’ around these trees, you know?”
“What, and then wander off the side of a cliff because you’ve convinced yourself you can fly? No thanks.”
Moon sniggered. Yasmine couldn’t sugarcoat something if she tried.
She didn’t pull punches when it came to teasing out the worst-case scenario and she never hesitated when deciding that’s what would inevitably happen.
A wooden sign post flitted past. Moon pressed her palm into the window glass, eyes widening.
A trailhead.
“Let’s go for a hike!”
The words spouted from Moon before she could stop them. She blinked, wholly unsure where the sudden determination came from.
Yasmine spluttered, uncharacteristically lost for words.
“Please,” Moon added plaintively. “Just a short one?”
“Why?” Yasmine demanded, finally finding her voice.
Moon bit her lip, staring at the dashboard.
“I’ve never been.”
“You’ve never been hiking in Big Bear.”
Yasmine scoffed, punctuating the statement with a smack to the steering wheel.
“Nope.” Moon chuckled nervously, hoping this wasn’t something Yasmine decided was worthy of giving her shit about.
Her friend only snorted in disbelief. “You haven’t been hiking up here,” she said again. “Aren’t your parents like…tree-hugging mega-hippies or something? Seems like they’d be all about that meditative outdoorsy shit.”
Moon laughed, shaking her head. “Well, they’re more like…smoke-a-bunch-of-stuff-in-a-sweat-lodge-and-see-the-entire-pagan-pantheon kind of hippies. Not really the one-with-nature kind of hippies.”
“But you are, huh?”
Yasmine raised her eyebrows, and Moon’s cheeks grew hot.
“I don’t know. I guess so. Nature calms me down when I’m stressed. Helps unblock my root chakra when it gets a little clogged.”
They passed a particularly beautiful grove of red maple trees, and Moon sucked in her breath.
“If we could just…stop and take a little walk somewhere…”
“Mooooon.” Yasmine dragged her name into a whine. “I’m wearing designer boots. If I get too much dirt on them, my mom will skin me alive and use my eviscerated corpse to make another pair.”
“Oh my god.” Moon snickered. “Don’t be so dramatic. Your mom is nice! She’s not going to flip out over a little dust.”
“You don’t know her,” Yasmine grumbled.
“I’ll take the blame if she gets mad. Promise.” Moon gave her friend her most pleading look. “I’ll say…I don’t know. I got you really high and we ran around in the dirt or something. But mountain trails aren’t usually that dirty! At least I don’t think.”
Yasmine whimpered, glancing from the car clock out the window and back again.
At the next trailhead, Yasmine slammed the brakes. Moon yelped, lurching forward as the range rover screeched to a stop in a pullover surrounded by soaring pines and gold-tinged scrub bushes.
“Oh, fuck it. Rosalie’s not expecting us until 4 anyways.”
Moon smiled at her lap. She got the feeling Yasmine could have fought her harder.
***
“Tell me a secret.”
“What?” Moon’s sandals dug into the trail, grinding her to a halt.
“Tell me a secret.” Yasmine turned, hair backlit by mountain sunshine. “Come on. If you’re going to insist we trek out into the middle of buttfuck nowhere, you’d better have some juicy gossip for where absolutely no one can hear us.”
She leaped onto a nearby boulder with surprising grace, boots deftly clinging to the gaps in a way that suggested she hadn’t always been as averse to physical exertion as she was now.
“DICK AND BALLS!” Moon was completely unprepared for her friend to cup her mouth and shout at the top of her lungs. “MOTHERFUCKING COCKSUCKING SHITHEADS! GODDAMN PUSSY-EATING DYKES! I’LL PISS IN YOUR MOUTH!”
The forest only answered Yasmine’s abundance of profanity with wind, songbird calls, and one or two annoyed crows. Not another human soul to be heard.
“See?” Yasmine turned, her grin conniving. “No one’s going to hear any of this shit besides us. You can literally say anything you want out here. It’d be a waste not to spill some tea.”
She spread her arms, and for a moment, she looked like a bird. An elegant, dainty little yellow warbler, about to take flight or break into song.
“No one can fuck with us out here!” she crowed. For a moment, Moon felt almost as free as her.
Moon laughed, shaking her head. She hadn’t known what to expect from the blonde girl in the yellow designer sundress, making snide comments in her math class, but these unrestrained dramatics were definitely not it.
“So come on, then.” Yasmine scaled down the rock as easily as she’d climbed it. “Tell me something scandalous, Moon.”
Moon frowned, quickening her pace to catch up. “Why?”
“Because. Maybe I want to get to know the girl I’m hauling up into the mountains to see my sister, huh?”
“We don’t need deep, dark secrets for that, do we?”
“Not technically, but I’m bored of all the other shit.” Yasmine groaned. “‘Where’d you go to middle school, did you grow up here, do you have any brothers or sisters,’ blah blah blah. We covered all the small talk crap when we ditched for brunch. I want something more interesting.”
Moon’s cheeks grow hot. “I don’t know if I’m hiding anything that interesting.”
“Oh, bullshit.” Yasmine turned, gray-green eyes boring into Moon. The blonde started walking backwards just in front of her friend, maintaining very intense and very judgmental eye contact the entire time. “Everyone’s got a little dirt on them, Moon. You just have to scrape it up.”
Feeling a sudden rush of bravery (perhaps the empowering jasper-colored leaves were to blame), Moon crossed her arms and returned Yasmine’s smirk. “And why should I give you my dirt?”
“Because.” Those stormy irises had a cunning gleam in them. “What’s a few secrets between best friends?”
“Best friends!” Moon laughed in surprise. “We barely know each other. And I’m your—well, I mean.” She found herself stumbling over her words. “What about everyone else at the table? Your middle school crew?”
“Oh, well.” Yasmine rolled her eyes dismissively. “Jenna, Harper, Aubrey—they’re all fake as fuck. Dumb sluts are using me to get a taste of what it’s like at the top. I know the knives come out whenever my back’s turned.” Her lips curled into a sneer. “It’s whatever, honestly. I’d just as soon get rid of them as soon as they stop making us look good. But you…”
For the first time in a while, the scornful look dropped completely.
“You’re different, Moon. You’re…real. Not basic and boring like every other bitch that follows me around.”
If Moon’s cheeks weren’t on fire before, they certainly were now.
“You really mean that?”
“Yeah, duh. I wouldn’t take you out here if you weren’t worlds better than all the other losers at our trash-ass school. Now…”
The genuine look that briefly shone through morphed into a smirk. Mood wondered if she’d imagined it.
Yasmine leaned forward, smirk widening. Without warning she grabbed both of Moon’s hands, tangling their fingers together as she continued to effortlessly saunter backwards. “Tell me a secret, Moon.”
“I…”
Moon could feel what was hovering just behind her lips. The words threatening to tangle with the mountain air and wash over Yasmine like a cold breeze, causing her hands to jerk away and her face to twist in that oh-so-familiar disgust.
I’m not normal.
It was something in the way that all through elementary school—and all through the turbulent tides of middle school, too—her eyes weren’t only drawn by soccer players showing off at recess, or the track stars who could run more gym class laps than anyone. Boys who dripped confidence like sweat and gleamed like fresh-minted coins, the names inside the hearts every girl doodled.
Just as often she found herself drawn to the ballet dancers and the child beauty pageant winners and the sirenlike voices of the girls in choir. Often as not, her mind was on billowing hair and purple nails and the scent of fruit shampoo as much as the testosterone and cologne of the ever-boisterous boys.
And it was a fascination that went beyond friendship. Moon knew that much.
She was able to join in with the other girls, gushing about the guys they liked and making bets on who would ask who to the next dance. But there was always half of it left unsaid.
She’d never told a soul. Not her easygoing parents. Not her middle school gang. No one. It was an anomaly that belonged to her and her alone.
And Moon wasn’t about to drive away her newest friend, in all her power and mystique and sheer magnetic energy.
Yasmine must’ve seen the gears turning behind her eyes. She groaned, yanking especially hard on Moon’s hands with an exaggerated eyeroll.
“Oh, fine. I’ll go first if you’re not gonna spill.”
Moon raised her eyebrows. “That was an option?”
Yasmine scoffed. “I mean, if you’re just going to stand there looking constipated…”
Moon couldn’t find a response.
Which probably made her look even more constipated.
“I don’t actually wake up like this.” Yasmine grinned mischievously, giving those flawless yellow locks of hers a graceful flip. “And it’s not Maybelline, either. I have to wake up at 5 fucking o’clock every morning to straighten this bitch. But better that than go to school looking like a fucking hobo.”
Moon laughed.
“So you don’t wake up with perfect hair? That’s not very scandalous.” Yasmine gasped, sounding half offended. “It is if you’re someone with my rep!”
“Well, if it’s that important to you…” Moon sniggered. “I won’t tell anyone. But for what it’s worth, I think the other kids would be impressed you put so much time into looking perfect.”
“Oh, no way. They need to think it’s like…an inherent part of my personality that I’m flawless and untouchable. Otherwise they might start getting ideas about replacing me if they style their hair for long enough.”
She had to laugh again.
“I don’t think you need to worry. The entire school knows they could never hold a torch to you.”
For a moment, uncertainty flickered through those stormcloud eyes.
Like the fear of being dethroned was greater than Yasmine let on.
“Damn right,” she said, smug expression returning. She tugged Moon’s hands again, bringing the girls close enough that Moon could smell traces of the strawberry-and-nutella crepes she had for breakfast.
“Your turn,” she purred.
“Um…”
Moon paused, pushing thoughts of her unspoken strangeness away. Yasmine didn’t need to know that.
“I’m worried that people think I’m kind of stupid,” she said instead.
Yasmine looked genuinely thrown off for a moment.
“What do you mean?”
Her expression turned…not serious exactly, but more thoughtful and curious than Moon was used to. None of its usual smugness.
“My friends from middle school, they—they all went to these private Ivy League prep schools. I, uh…I think some of their parents bribed their way in, but some of them were genuinely just that smart. Either way, my parents weren’t willing to pull strings to get me in. They’re really, um…‘go with the flow’ in a way that they, like, don’t like to exert a lot of effort on anything they don’t need to. Which includes keeping me with my friends, I guess.”
Moon took a breath, almost hoping Yasmine would interrupt.
Yasmine didn’t. Only waited with uncharacteristic patience for her to finish.
“I told them at 8th grade continuation I didn’t make it into Harvard-Westlake. They, um…they looked at me like I was some kind of reject. And they started talking about all the things they were gonna do in high school.” Moon winced at the memory. “Kelsey was gonna learn Latin. Rachel was gonna get into Hollywood. Tess was gonna figure out how to become like…some political diplomat or something. And I guess it was just like…we’d been together through the thick and thin of everything, and suddenly I was some dumb bimbo who wasn’t even worthy of licking the dirt they stepped on. And after that night, I never heard from any of them again.”
Yasmine’s only response was a curled lip. “Ew.”
Moon’s stomach sank. “You think I’m also…?”
Yasmine’s scowl deepened. “No, your stupid friends. They sound like a load of self-righteous bitches.” She scoffed. “Girl, you’re well-rid of them. You stuck around and they’d try to make you into a fucking lame loser nerd just like them. Who the fuck uses Latin in their day-to-day existence, anyways?!”
Moon found herself laughing.
“Yeah, I guess Kelsey was always kind of prissy that way.”
“Half the shit they teach in high school doesn’t matter in the real world, anyways.” Yasmine rolled her eyes. “And yeah, even at prep schools, too. Take all the acting classes and political science you want, but if you don’t know someone important in the industry, you’re not getting shit. The world runs on nepotism, so…your old bitches are going to get fucked over so bad.”
Something about Yasmine’s overconfident scorn soothed her. No one who spoke that surely could be wrong…right?
Moon chuckled. “Is it bad that I kind of hope they do?”
“Nah. Would serve the dumb fucks right.” Yasmine’s smirk returned—bigger than any she’d worn all afternoon. “I should be thanking them, really. They ditched by far the coolest person in their group, and now I get you all to myself.”
Moon only hoped Yasmine didn’t see how red her own cheeks were turning.
“For the record, though…”
Yasmine seemed to search her face, expression suddenly unreadable.
“I don’t think you’re stupid. I mean…not that it matters anyways, because pretty people get jobs more than smart people do, but being good at the crap they teach in school doesn’t mean anything. Being able to read people, knowing who you can open up to and who’s a damn snake, figuring out how to talk people into giving you what you want…that’s what matters. And you’ve got more intuition than anyone I’ve met in a long time.”
Well, if having intuition was what mattered…
Moon only hoped she was reading Yasmine right.
***
Some random author’s notes, in no particular order:
Love that Yasmine is canonically a terrible driver. Like she accidentally kick-started the entire plot because her dumb ass was texting and driving and rammed right tf into Johnny Lawrence’s car. I have every reason to believe she’s this bad of a driver in every situation 💛 Absolute trash queen 👑
Writing S1 Yasmine is so much fun because she’s SO unapologetically shitty, like. You can have her say the most deranged shit and it’s completely in character??? Delightfully challenging to figure out how fucking anyone could fall inconsolably head-over-heels for her, especially someone as naturally good-natured as Moon!!! Like she was simping—I know it in my soul—but how the FUCK did that happen???
Also no I absolutely do not count Demetri’s “feelings” as falling inconsolably head-over-heels for her—mans was faking being straight to get Miguel not to abandon him and then felt he had to Commit To The Bit. I WILL die on this hill btw.
On a related note, though!!! I’ve probably watched the S1 Yasmine scenes DOZENS of times for this fic (not a single fucking one without her girlfriend btw), and after a while you start to pick up on some like…unexpected softness you didn’t notice before? Like she seems genuinely pleased Sam is enjoying throwing her party! She plays wingwoman and sets Sam up with Kyler! (Granted, there could have been ulterior motives here—namely distracting Sam so she doesn’t notice That Gay Shit going on between her two new best friends—but the act in of itself didn’t seem malicious.) She’s a tad overprotective of Moon when she believes Sam has been talking crap, and tells Sam to get the hell out of Moon’s car!!! She genuinely looks hurt when Moon chooses Hawk and Co. over her!!! Like it’s few and far between, but she definitely seems to care about her friends on some level, even at her worst. With that in mind, it’s a lot easier to write Moon getting smitten with her!
Adding onto this—rewatching the S1 Yasmine clips, it’s kind of striking how often she refers to herself and Moon as a unit, especially during the 1x05 car scene with Sam. “Kyler told us what you said.” “You think you’re better than us.” “We know what went down.” She says “Moon, let’s go” when about to ditch the beach party instead of just storming off because of course she’s not leaving without Moon (who she chose to stay with over going with Kyler btw!). She doesn’t even consider it a possibility until Moon outright says it. Not only is this a cool parallel to a thing S1 Demetri also does (I.e. frequently uses “we” to speak for both him and Eli from a place of misguided-ish overprotectiveness and the confidence that “I know what’s best for both of us as a unit”), but this is something a lot of long-term couples I know irl tend to do!!! When I talk about movies with my roommate, he tends to say “we (I.e. him and his fiancé) did/didn’t like it.” When my married friend thanked me for catsitting, he said “we really appreciate it.” Point being that even at her absolute worst, Yasmine is never actually just thinking about herself—she’s thinking about herself and Moon, right up until Moon chooses to ditch her! Anyways yeah these girls were a Thing sorry. If they have a tendency that immediately calls to mind my married and engaged friends, that’s. A little gay???
Also worth noting that Yasmine only really breaks from Moon in 1x09, and then as SOON as she appears again in S3, she’s once again glued to Moon’s hip. Girl literally cannot stay away from Moon akfssrfuhbi
But all that aside!!! S1 Yasmine genuinely sucks so bad. Like GIRL. You fat-shamed a girl for no fucking reason. You verbally eviscerated an ugly sweater kid just minding his business and probably jump-started his Evil Journey tbh. You slut-shamed your ex-friend all over the internet after she almost got sexually assaulted. You cut off your closest friend and fuck buddy because she dared to ask you to stop being horrid. What in the actual hell is wrong with you. I am horrified and fascinated. I want to study Yasmine like a bug.
And I am, via this fic!!! God, am I having a blast with it. Fully intend to continue delving into why she’s the actual fucking worst and giving her the nuance the showrunners never bothered with 💛
I spent like 3 hours researching “prep schools” in the San Fernando Valley, and watched a whole-ass tour video for Harvard-Westlake to determine what Moon’s shitty (or shittier) ex-friends went off to study that made her feel inadequate. Please be proud of me for doing a deep dive into this weird niche topic to make my weird niche pairing fic feel authentic XD
Deadass role-playing as an Uber-wealthy Encino parent looking for a good, respectable high school for their spoiled 8th grader was. An incredibly bizarre experience. I do not want kids, I could not afford them even if I did, and I do not have anything anywhere close to a rich suburban husband to discuss a kid’s school options with. I guess this is the essence of trying to explore lived experiences that will never belong to you???
I legitimately do think Moon is smarter than she comes off as (Demetri wouldn’t fuck with her otherwise!) and is somewhat insecure about being seen as “dumb” because she’s bubbly, hyperfemme, conflict-averse, and in touch with her spirituality. I don’t think she likes admitting this, though—she doesn’t like “burdening” others with her own demons!
Considering Yasmine’s “natural” hairstyle in S3 appears to be more wavy, girl probably spent an ungodly amount of time and effort straightening her hair in season 1. Like yeah, she was mean at, but can you blame her??? Bitch was probably running on like 4 hours of sleep a night!
Jenna, Harper, and Aubrey are some of the extras at the Rich Girls Table! I’ve mentioned in other posts, but I’ve always kind of wondered about them, and What Their Deal Was that they’re only sometimes worthy of hanging out with Yasmine XD Git hyped to see more of them in this and other planned YasMoon fics!!!
Continuing to love looking into crystals/spirituality/incense/other kinds of Wiccan-adjacent things I think Moon would be into! As a woman of science, I’m not sure if I buy into that, but I do think it’s genuinely fascinating and fun to explore and research! There’s a lot of pretty cool and interesting belief systems out there to explore when you go in without obsessing over whether something’s 100% true or false and whatnot.
Yes, Californians really do get that hyped about seasons. I would know—I moved there after growing up in the Midwest, and seeing Californians get hyped about seeing snow or massive amounts of fall foliage for the first time is just about the most pure thing ever ;_____; But it’s definitely not out of the question for Moon to get that pumped about fall color aksssdtchh
I kind of love the idea of Moon always knowing she was bisexual, but not building the confidence to proudly tell it to the world until Piper helped her to 💗💜💙
Bitches be holding other bitches’ hands on an isolated hiking trail and think that’s a Straight and Normal thing to do. Like come on. We all know what you are, Yasmine.
Can’t give y’all an exact posting estimate for the whole fic, but I’m not giving up on it anytime soon (having WAY too much fun with this angst to do that!!!) and will try to get the rest of it done as soon as I can!!! Hoping ideally by sometime this coming winter :3

ok sorry if this is a silly question but I'm always curious about how post canon edling works? like what is their situation.
did the edwin proposal just never happen or are they exes? are the edwin kids a thing?
does ed live in xing at some point or does he just travel around and sporadically visit ling whenever he can? I think repeatedly traveling through the desert could be painful with automail so maybe only once a year or every couple years?
idk, let me know ur thoughts!! :)
OKAY SO I OBVIOUSLY CANNOT SPEAK FOR LIKE ANYONE ELSE WHO'S INTO THEM but i do have a specific canon for them (exiled) (and like... i don't like the writing of the fics anymore... but my main interpretation still centers around it and follows the same beats so surely that means something right)
ANYWAYS HERE'S THE GIST/RUNDOWN OF I HOW I KIND OF SORT OF MADE THEM WORK:
--
(going to use parts of my personal doc for my ed blog (@alchemsol) that i use to keep track of stuff i've written that's canon for him just for convenience's sake)
so the general gist of the beginning of exiled is that after around four years of rehabilitation and one travelling in the west (what we see him doing at the end of canon, diverging without the edwin subplot since i prefer them being written in a more familial way like the start of canon did), ed travels to xing to visit everybody again along with his brother since he's working as an amestrian ambassador for xing now and living in the palace and learning alkahestry with mei, along with figuring out how to get jerso and zampano's bodies back ^_^
somewhere around this time ed and ling get together
during the span of about a month or two after the main plot ends, ed stays with ling in the palace and essentially accompanies him for a while as his s/o (unbeknownst to the main public). a while after he's called to border city milos to help solve a dispute with an alchemist
it is important to note that ling, despite this having been his entire goal and wanting to help his people and help reform xing, really fucking hates his job more than he thought he would since he's spent his whole life as a free spirit lol. more of ling's character arc involving naïveté it is!
so what ling does is he essentially knows that he can't really help xing much more than he already has in his position, and in a very strong sense of burnout and a horribly poor mental state that can really only hurt his people more than it would serve them, he and lan fan decide to desert, he fakes his death, and they both leave for and arrive in resembool while ed and al are still away in creta.
with mei having already been named his heir at this point in case anything were to happen to him and without any children due to the sudden elimination of the concubine system and lack of a love interest PRIOR to ed, she agrees to assume the throne and do what she had originally intended to do before ling had won the philosopher's stone and mostly continues out ling's work
"bluebirds" (the last exiled fic) essentially centers around ed and ling adjusting to resembool life (especially ling because of how goddamn high-stakes his life has been up to this point) after ed and al return from milos, and also introduces winry and pinako to the series. al leaves to return to xing after it concludes
the tl;dr by this point is that lan fan and ling are now in resembool, and while winfan ALSO begins forming in the background of the story, ling and ed adjust to the whole situation of ling, a whole-ass emperor, having faked his death and randomly having showed up AT THE ROCKBELLS' (and ed's in a more non-literal sense) DOORSTEP, which ed is Very ":/" about bc they didn't talk about this and it could be dangerous as fuck but when are they not known for being ballsy!!!
the other titles listed happen after "bluebirds" and exiled conclude, but are still in the same canon. coulomb arc is a personal project with a writing partner (my boyf) that veers off into this non-canon au ficlet, terrible day for rain and names to call you by are ficlets that i've posted and deleted in the past that introduce nella and leroy who ed and ling end up adopting (along with ollie who they had also adopted shortly after the events of under the apple tree), and the other ed/ling fankids i've mentioned (jingyi, delilah, chao) happen sometime after matryoshka and end up as their biological children
golden years is obviously the end of all that but it isn't really important since it's an unnecessary ficlet i just wanted to write ages ago lmao
--
TL;DR: my interpretation is probably really far from what most people would consider in-character or most likely to happen after canon especially since it just ditches parts of the epilogue entirely as a result of it being a love letter to myself and what i like and not really much else because i just felt really silly goofy after consuming fullmetal alchemist content for the first time
however ^_^ ! it's basically just ed and ling living wild in their early 20s and then settling down and basically turning into domestic gay middle-aged men with 9 million kids because i think they deserve better than constant drama for once in their life lolz. i simply think it's good and soft for them to be normal especially given ling especially didn't get a taste of it at all when ed at least got a small sippy
ed ofc still travels from time-to-time because that's just the kind of guy that he is (usually bringing ling along with him to show him amestris), and he typically avoids doing it entirely unless he has a like. VERY important trip where he won't be gone for long after they have children mostly in fear of accidentally becoming like his father even though he's mostly forgiven him and absolutely doesn't hate him at all by now since he knows better than what he used to and why things ended up the way they did. it's just the matter of them getting used to living like actual normal and happy grown people, even with some bumps along the way, and they finally get to heal from everything that happened to them when they were younger together
tl;dr x2: i think they should heal and be shitty little country boys and make out maybe
#-- anonymous#me.txt#answering machine#edling#linged#THANK YOU FOR ASKING SJFDSKJAKJSKJS!!!!! i have many thoughts about these guys and they're unironically the only edlings i write mostly#SO SORRY FOR THE RAMBLING I DIDN'T MEAN FOR THIS TO HAPPEEEENN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#i've wrote them for like 3 years it's unbearable. every day i fight the urge to not shut up#long post#is this absurdly ooc for ling especially? yeah#do i care? no#am i taking constructive criticism at this time? also no /j#also minor spoilers for exiled kinda...? idk when AM i gonna finish that series tbh#anyways now you all know the spiel of what goes on in my brain when i mention these guys#still love fma's themes of community so much so even if the way i write them does kind of suck ass i still like including my bestie babies#i do have prompts where ling stays emperor and ed is still his boyf/etc just because it's really fun though#fma

"What is this? A bad romance novel?"
yea, ima write some silly lil ficlets with my OCs! And im boutta draw my OC Devin in a min
Nellis grumbled to herself as she stuffed her clothes into the leaky apartment’s laundry machine, the floor had been wet and she’d almost slipped. Her hip was over-extended and throbbing, the bone was probably wretched out of place. Fucking EDS. Her cursing made her miss when her neighbor, Devin sauntered in.
He was carrying a black laundry basket, filled to overflow with mostly black clothing. Nellis screeched an obscenity as a piece of her laundry fluttered down into a dirty puddle. “FUCKING CUNTSUCKER!”
“You kiss your boyfriend with that mouth?”
She whipped around, slipping on the puddle again and actually falling on her ass in the nasty water. “Wh- GODDAMNIT! FUCKER!”
Devin looked down at her with a bemused smirk, offering her his hand after he had sat his laundry down. He leaned close as he pulled her up, dark grey eyes staring into Nellis’, she felt herself grow hot with embarrassment. Her ass and the back of her thighs and hem of her shirt were soaked. Looking like she had pissed herself.
“I-I… Sorry I called you a fucker.”
Devin shrugged, “I’m used to it.” His face was still so close to her’s, a vision of closing the gap and kissing him entered Nells’ mind. She pulled away instead, embarrassment darkening her cheeks, she chewed on her already jagged thumbnail, flecks of black paint peeling off.
“Looks like I got you all wet.” Devin said, with a tone and look that did not betray at all if he meant a double entendre.
“Uh ye-yea. I…” Nells’ brain was short circuiting. She needed out of these wet pants and shirt. “I… All my clothes are dirty…”
“All of them?!” Devin seemed even more amused, “Is this the first time you’ve done your laundry since moving in our something?”
“It’s the second time if you must know!” Nells huffed, shifting miserably in her soaked clothes, on the verge of a meltdown. Goddamn Autism.
“Well, look, I have a hoodie you can borrow. Wait here.” Before she could protest he had disappeared.
“Fuckin dumbass.” She muttered to herself, pulling on the hem of her shirt.
She waited for what felt like an eternity, finally resolving to herself to just race back to her apartment, dirty clothes and all and hide there until Devin moved out or she died. Which ever happened first.
“He’s probably not coming back anyways.” She muttered, shoving her dirty clothes back into her basket, turning around to leave and slamming right into Devin. She bounced off him and squeaked.
“You doubted me that much.” He clutched his hands, that held a black hoodie and red and black striped boxers, to his chest, “You wound me!” He chuckled, while taking her laundry basket under one arm, and handing her the hoodie with the other.
“I’ll just toss your stuff with mine, if that’s ok with you.”
Nells just nodded, even more embarrassment coursing through her.
“Don’t worry I wont look while you undress.” He turned to block the door so no one could enter.
What is this? Nellis thought to herself, A bad romance novel?
She peeled her clothes off and dressed in Devin’s, sneakily getting a deep sniff. It smelled like his cologne and laundry detergent. So good… Fuck. He’s never getting this hoodie back.
“I-I’m dressed.” She mumbled, looking down, only glancing up shyly as Devin came to stand in front of her.
“Damn.” He said, seeming absent-minded, “You do look good in everything.”
Apparently it was his turn to blush, “I mean… Fuck.” He waved his hands in front of him, and gathered up the laundry, “FORGET I SAID ANYTHING!”
~*~*OK idk how to end this, so i’mma just, end on an awkward note. Bc I can ehheheeheeh >:)*~*~

21 and 84! ~ @sapphilleans
ty for the ask!!! :D
21: Double D (Ed Edd n Eddy) - familial
my baby daughter.......
ok so for context my s/i is linda duvall-kanker (she/her), mother of the three kanker sisters (lee, marie, may). i think she works at the school as a custodian primarily but eventually starts working as a substitute teacher because they're low on staff and she has the prerequisites to teach technically
double d is obviously a stellar student but i think it's equally obvious how anxious they are
idk how we get there but i feel like at some point after linda has told off her daughters for annoying the eds, double d comes to linda sometimes to chat about stuff since linda is very clearly protective despite being one who doesn't exactly like being around men or boys
which makes it a little funny when double d realizes she might not in fact be a boy after all! since double d's parents aren't really around, linda is the adult that she starts to confide gender stuff to, and linda tries her best to be helpful even if she's not super feminine in nature herself
i think her egg got cracked a little when linda started calling her "dee" and she eventually was like "actually can you call me that but like ♀️" and linda was like "sure whatever (said with pro-womanhood intent)"
as an aside i think the eds were 100% supportive of dee's identity (ed didn't really have many thoughts outside of his support, but eddy thought this opened up the door for more scams to try out now that they'd have a woman in the group)
i think dee ends up being more friendly with the kanker sisters mainly because they're STOKED to have another lady friend to talk to. marie also probably lowkey still has her crush on dee but that's another story for another day /lh
i think as dee grows up she still stays in touch with linda, and they'd chat over email while dee is off in college going to change the world or whatever. dee kind of becomes a fourth member of linda's family even if unofficially and so the kankers invite dee to big family events (dee does the same for the kankers)
84: Brahms Heelshire (The Boy) - romantic
AH YES the one f/o i was writing a selfshiptober fic for that i never finished. i can just explain the lore here instead bc let's be real that ficlet is never getting done ajdjskksks
ok so my s/i is celina kaminski (she/her), she moved away from the states to get away from her past (not unlike another previous heelshire mansion resident, greta) and ends up buying the heelshire mansion going for a stupidly low price given nobody else wants the weird creepy haunted place
at first brahms HATES that celina is here and fucks around with stuff in the house to try and get her to leave. he's still busy tantruming over greta being gone so celina in turn is starting to feel like maybe she shouldn't have purchased the haunted house after all
the only thing keeping her sane is this porcelain doll she eventually finds when cleaning around the place. she initially calls it something really stupid (jimmy-hop poppers mcgibbins iii) but once she starts using the name, a paper shows up near the doll not long after; it's an old ruleset for a brahms, so celina takes it as a sign from the house that the doll is named brahms
once brahms (man) sees how well celina treats the doll, he starts to ease up on her and even occasionally does nice things around the house for her to reward her for watching over his doll. this is when he latches himself onto celina emotionally
he still throws fits when celina leaves the house, but eventually gets it through his head that since he scared the previous delivery boy (malcolm) away, celina has to leave to go grocery shopping herself. he still does make a mess around the place though if he feels it's been too long to where she might have left him
brahms finally reveals he's a human person in the walls to celina when greta and malcolm try to convince her to leave as soon as possible. celina doesn't budge because she's convinced that this is some weird long-con for the doll and almost gives it away before brahms shows up, which scares off everyone except celina
sure, she's admittedly still horrified out of her mind, but sticks around because if he hasn't hurt her this whole time, she thinks she can maybe take her chances with him and survive
she does survive and in fact the two end up together because celina thinks brahms is kind of hot and brahms is very dependent on celina's presence to feel functional. far from a perfect relationship but they do end up together pretty solidly otherwise
celina does convince brahms to leave the walls and stay with her in the main house instead, which takes a while to adjust to, but he ADORES that he gets to have direct personal attention now that isn't just vicariously through some fucking doll
it does take a looong while for brahms to also give celina more than like six feet of space. bro would Not have survived the pandemic with his lack of social distancing
they don't ever have any kids but the doll suffices as celina's son. which is fine because she didn't really want any living breathing children to be responsible for. porcelain is a great alternative
