dinner in america is such a “take what you want from it and leave the rest” movie for me because i do think it’s very cute and i can buy into some of the wish fulfillment nature of the story but admittedly there are some parts that really don’t work for me, there are some parts that fall a little flat either in terms of the characters or humor, and the pacing is a bit of a challenge tbh. but it’s unbelievable what the human brain can overcome by virtue of simply Just Liking That Guy

not me popping back on here with a post after months of semi-inactivity (uni is being a bitch) just to reiterate how much i love writing the pahkitew island cast.

aside from sammy and amy (obviously), literally everyone else can be shipped with one another and it'd make sense to some degree, like it takes skill to create a group of people so inherently shippable (platonically and/or romantically) and ofc the writers didn't know it they just shoved a bunch of random ppl together and dusted their hands off on it but fr tho 😭

(yeah im planning out my leonave 'stranger things inspired' au, and the gears are turning, and i forgot just how much i love writing for this dumbass group)

At the end I just felt like scribbling everywhere in pen. Sometimes as an artist you need to give your brain a bit of a break but still feel your hand itching to draw something so scribbling is typically what I do to help scratch that itch.

honestly with watching the Kingdom Hearts III cut scenes all at once I have been doing some skipping around bc ten hours is a LOT

and I am v consistently skipping the Maleficent scenes. girl, you haven't been relevant since the first game, just give up.

i keep thinking about how ridiculous it is for publishing companies to demand authors create a social media presence before they're even able to get published. just from a marketing standpoint even it doesn't make sense -- that's literally the publishing company's job to do that. to create the demand

i understand pushing it once the process of publishing is happening, there are book tours, interview, blah blah blah but the act of getting a book to sell shouldn't be the author's job. the author's job is to write a good book.
