Thinking of the damian "blood son" rhetoric in fandom and I think people don't like to admit they yeah he does think he's better than other people but many times it is bc his training or his feats, he constantly makes allusions to his training, bc then they can't just say "oh he's a spoiled kid who just got everything handed to him for being bruces/ras son/grandson " but like... he clearly worked hard for what he has (including a place in the batfam)

I've been thinking about the class divide of the merchants vs the seam in district 12 and that's got me thinking about class division in other districts. Specifically I've been thinking about district 3, based on the real life circumstance of our technology parts being manufactured by scientists with high education and good wages vs them being assembled by people with terrible working conditions. I think that's something interesting to explore for district 3 in fics.

thinking about weather patterns on Cybertron... the science behind how they work.. Cybertron's atmospheric make up, what the poles are like on the planet, or if there are Cybertronians who have altmodes/abilities that can predict weather patterns..........
bc aren't there rust storms or something? So they do have severe weather patterns at least

So anyway I just imagined the first Olympian family dinner after Zeus and Hera got their respective shits together enough to let Athena and Hephaestus move to Olympus (okay Athena wasn't really a choice Zeus just killed her foster sister)
Like. Hephaestus just standing there in his work clothes and trying not to think what nice stuff he could build if he didn't have to be here.
And then young Athena steps up beside him, her shield just ever so slightly too big for her still, her armor still the one she was born with (the one Metis made, probably has oceanid symbols on it rather than her own and definitely not fitting that shield that Zeus gave her)
He offers her to make her armor fit for her domain and she trades it with a proper wardrobe bc she's the goddess of crafts after all.
And then they are called for dinner, the exiled children, the eldest siblings even though they aren't related. Meeting their parents who have already failed them in their first century.

(also yeah I totally incorporated this into a fanfic as well)

saw a post about it but lost it
anyway the main difference between "statements" in tma and tmagp is that in tma the people were scared, even those who later became avatars or were serving the fears. that was the theme - fear. but in protocol so far we only had people somewhat embracing those fears. and idk if it's because the fears are so different here maybe they're not even truly fears maybe they don't feast on terror. or maybe we're just seeing people we never got to see in tma, especially in episode 2. we wouldn't get a statement from Daria but rather those that came in contact with her.

in my rewrite i think it'd be pretty silly if garrancemau was true and real EXCEPT
its set up for garroths feelings to look like they're for aphmau, and even though he does admire her and is grateful for her being around, his feelings are actually for laurance
considering maybe some internalized homophobia?(garte's fault) so maybe he doesnt accept how he feels until near the time of his betrayal??

Lol I wonder if Kusuo lost that final little bit of self worth once he stopped the volcano. Like that was his whole life goal all those years. He didn’t even give himself time to think of a future beyond that. And once he stopped it, what was there left for him to do? He’d served his purpose.
I genuinely think losing his powers at his young age wasn’t really a good idea. All of his worth is conflated with his powers, both in his own mind and in others. Think of how excited Toritsuka and Kusuke were that he was getting them back, regardless of how anxious it made Kusuo. Accepting them as part of himself was a good step in the right direction, but he needs to learn how to acknowledge that he is a person who has value beyond what his powers can do. It’s something I think that can only come with age for him. He needs time to unlearn everything he’s grown up believing.

The thing that really fucks me up about my trauma is that even as I make progress on my self image and confidence, I feel like I am not a loud to enjoy it.
Like if I let myself relax and just enjoy the fact that for the first time in my life I like what I see more than I don't, then it will be taken.
Then I catch myself picking out flaws, then I start hyper fixating, then the dysmorphia takes over. That compounds on anxeity and soon its off to the races.
I do find however, as time has gone on. That the spirals are lessening. That I am speaking gentler to myself. I am calling myself out on my own b.s. too. I am not really sure when it started but I've really started to love who I am.
So, ya know if you happen to read this. Keep going it gets better, and so do you 💖

I've been thinking about book!Javert because there's this strong belief in the fandom that he just wants an authority to tell him what to do, always, but Javert is imho very independent and trusts himself the most and most of all listens to his own guts (are they always right from a humane POV? No).
He has a tendency to secrecy and he wants accomplishments. (Plus, he enjoys the power he does have and can wield.)
A lot of Javert's subservient tendencies are imho born from self-preservation (and tbh I'd love to see this being explored in a fic).
So he shuts up and follows the rules and survives. Doesn't mean he's not conscious of corruption or bad treatment or bad rules, it's just not his place to do anything about them and so he doesn't think about them.
Would Javert follow orders he doesn't agree with when the book literally says Javert would never arrest anyone if he had doubts about them? 🤔

do you reckon this only reinforced Scott's disdain of Joel's usual playstyle? He died because he hunted someone down -> he will most likely never do it again and judge people who do

Imagine if forging a pact with the demons was very useful for both parties involved. A human's strong soul, bound by contract, became a wellspring of sustenance for the demons, without the need for them to sacrifice someone to feed themselves. The pact enabled the extraction of fragments of the soul, a thing that wouldn't be possible without the contract.
They wouldn't have to kill so often.

I know it's easy to assume Lumon caused or faked Gemma's car accident but to me there's something really compelling about the possibility that they didn't. If they're truly doing medical research to save gravely injured people (and at what cost? Their freedom? Their entire personality?) that makes it so much harder to grapple with their cruelty

Awhile ago when I was first joining the fandom I made a little AU with my sibling in where we made Polites a mermaid and Odysseus found him on a beach (when they’re both kids) and ever since then Polites took on a human form (with occasional trips to the ocean or any water source).
Polites and Ody go through great lengths to keep this a secret though, but Eurylochus caught on one day and so they decided to be open with him about it. They mainly say they keep it secret cause Polites doesn’t want the little attention it might bring.
The AU doesn’t make a lot of sense but I’m sharing it cause idk why not. Just one of many AUs I’ve thought about.
Though it probably doesn’t make sense for a Greek setting tbh since looking it up the only thing I see closely resembling a mermaid are the sirens (before anyone says anything yes I am aware there are versions of the sirens as bird ladies) or Poseidon’s son Triton or Nereids/Tritones.

hold on. Quick thought (this is probably already a theory and I’m just living under a rock)
what if ERROR / An archivist / THE archivist is Gwen?
In tmagp 28 Sam is looking for Gwen and suddenly it comes and takes the statement from him.
Tumblr media
And this ^
yes it could have just been sent, but the ‘third party who wishes to remain anonymous’ is VERY suspicious

something i wish we had gotten in season 2 was a scene or even a few of armand teaching louis how to unlock the fire gift. we know this occurred, and the show seems to playing with the role armand plays in the book as the teacher louis views himself as previously denied in lestat as his maker, “I speak of another kind of love which drew me to him completely as the teacher which Lestat had never been. Knowledge would never be withheld by Armand, I knew it. It would pass through him as through a pane of glass so that I might bask in it and absorb it and grow. But I think it goes a little unexplored which is unfortunate, because this dynamic is so fascinating for both louis and armand as characters. for louis, armand represents for the first time a glimpse at being able to truly see vampirism as something beautiful and as a state of existence which he can master and grow into, and for armand it’s the chance to experience love in a more balanced way in which he is not permanently a student/pupil like with marius. armand frames their relationship as one in which they are both each other’s teachers, armand further ushering louis into the world of vampirism, and louis connecting armand with the modern world. but even as armand presents this egalitarian portrait he struggles with finding that balance, oscillating between needing total control when feeling threatened (orchestrating claudia’s death) and regressing into a preformance of subservience when it back fires and their relationship comes to an end(“Is there anything else you want of me, anything else you require?”). i think armand’s deal is fairly fleshed out in the season in this regard, but i think scenes in which he explicitly takes on that mentorship role would have gone a long way in showing why louis was so drawn to armand
